Brahmah Thursday June 13th, 2002 8:07:26 PM
Brahmah looks at Flat-top, but just glares at him. Listening to the Mer-Taurs, Brahmah seems realitively put off by their questions, when they haven't even answered his!!!
"EXCUSE ME!! I asked first, you haven't answered our questions!!" Brahmah nearly gets into Red Stars face but can't get around Flat-tops wide form. "I don't mean ta'be ruuude, but it's only polite!" He's getting noticably tense, almost suspicous. "No we DON'T breathe water!! We drowned!!" Brahmah gets pouty, crosses his arms and goes off to sit on a barrel.
Kenisha Thursday June 13th, 2002 11:17:35 PM
"Brahmah, please calm down. All n good time." Kenisha tells the upset Minotaur.
to the priest she says, "We are air-breathers. In order to stay underwater for any great period of time, we would need either potions or magic. Why do you need to go to the Dragon Consortium?"
Ceira Friday June 14th, 2002 2:04:42 AM
"You do not know of our kind?" asks Ceira. "How unusual. Your race must be very well hidden and isolated in the deep seas of the Wold. Alas, even you are affected by the cataclysmic events that unfold in the Wold."
Flat-top Friday June 14th, 2002 4:25:17 AM
Flat-top put himself between Brahmah and the Priest Red Star, because he knew that his Bullheaded Friend was getting upset. Flat-top cross his arm on his chest. Whispering to the others near by, "Having a big rump comes in handy some times."
Kalon (Ceil) Friday June 14th, 2002 4:32:15 AM
Kalon stand beside his beloved Kenisha, telling her "I don't know how you do it? But you can handle the hardest problem of mix Taurs I have ever seen." Then put his hand to cover his mouth so no one will see that Kalon is supressing a laugh.
Kale Friday June 14th, 2002 6:20:19 AM
still not really trusting the mermen, Kale keeps quiet and chooses just to observe for now
Zeoll the Lesser Friday June 14th, 2002 9:04:31 AM
"I am very interrested in hearring about the news you brring," Zeoll says. "We too have news. Without rrevealing too much, is yourr news about how to defeat the Darrk One?"
Leets Friday June 14th, 2002 10:16:54 AM
"Zeoll is right...We aneed allies in this war, and to my mind, there would be nobody better than you to rule the seas and stop Marteaus the Dark One..."
"Oh captain! When do you think we'll arrive? I hate being there without knowing what's happening on the land..."
"Full Sails Ahead" Asst. Dm Ceil Friday June 14th, 2002 3:18:14 PM
The ship Captain yells,"If the wind hold like this we'll be in port by noon tomorrow, IF YOU RAT DROPPINGS DON'T MOVE. YEA WON'T GET SHORE LEAVE."
Red Star the priest eyes gets wide in surprise at Leets question, "What do you know about Matious and his Dark Lord Sharpie? OH! He's a mean one. That dark Lord came down with his army and destroyed the under sea Capitol of Pearl City." Red Star look very sad and down hearted, "When we left to seek the Gold Dragons, we have to give the information to them first. I hope we don't run into any trouble on the way."
Brahmah Friday June 14th, 2002 9:17:16 PM
"I have news for you priest! Our capitols, cities, harbors and small villages have been destroyed as well. Your NOT alone in this, WE were never alone in this! But understand this, our Quest is an Honorable one, to be part of it you must be able to defend a fallen LAND walker as you would yur'own kin. I will defend you and yur people, so I swear by my Honor! Will you do the same for us?!" Brahmah still sits on the barrel, his eyes are not leaving the deck, he does not look up to make eye contact.
"Flat-top, come here friend." When Flat-top approaches, the mino-Taur askes something that's been on his mind for quite awhile. "We didn't just leave Roarr behind, did we? Did he say where he was going, I forget? Maybe back to his tribe? We need him."
Kale Saturday June 15th, 2002 9:21:08 AM
"Raorr isnt with us." Kale says "He has a different part to play."
Flat-top Saturday June 15th, 2002 3:38:46 PM
Flat-top is curling some rope into a barrel for later use. When Brahmah calls him, just finishing his task Flat-top trots over to the Minotaur, "Yes You wanted me?...Raorr?... Last time I saw him he was sleeping in the hole. He must be one heavy sleeper, if he slept through this Storm."
Kalon (Ceil) Saturday June 15th, 2002 3:46:16 PM
Kalon stand beside Kenisha, listening as to what the priest is saying about the undersea Capitol. "Why must you talk to the gold Dragons first?"
Zeoll the Lesser Sunday June 16th, 2002 9:55:12 AM
Zeoll answers Red Star, "Yes, we know of Matious, although we know him by the name Marrteaus. We seek his downfall, as do all of noble hearrt. We carry inforrmation to the drragons about how to defeat him."
Ceira Sunday June 16th, 2002 11:05:19 PM
Once the ship is underway, Ceira begins to recognize the nausea of sea-sickness welling up in her stomach. She shimmies over to the nearest mast and holds on tight.
Kenisha Monday June 17th, 2002 12:50:01 AM
"Yes, Rad Star. If you can tell us, why do you need to speak to the Gold Dragons? As to Marteaus, we know of him certainly. Of this Lord Sharpie, I know of him not."
Leets Monday June 17th, 2002 3:07:42 AM
Hearing those terrible news, a veil of disapointment darkens Leets' face.
"You will sure be a valuable ally, Red Star, and maybe you could tell us and the Dragons how your own peoplewas defeated. This way we could perhaps find a weakness and defeat Marteaus more easily."
"This will be a terrible battle: it looks like nobody can defeat him, neither on land, neither in the water. We still must hope that the gods will do better in the skies..."
"Docking in Port" Asst. Dm Ceil Monday June 17th, 2002 4:57:26 PM
As the ship is docking, the Captain yells his orders "Drop the main sails. Ready the poles. Throw those ropes. Hurry! You scrounge Bilges."
Red Star looks at the bunch of you, hesitate for a moment, then tell them the story. "One of our Cleric had this vision of our God in a great battle. He told him to send a party to the surface and go to the gold dragons, and they will tell them what to do, and how to do it? Also to look for the Orb, very important to get that Orb. He said we will know it when we see it. I though he had dip into the Blue Wine one too many times, that is until we were attack. We ask him where this Orb would be, and again he said here, this place on land. That's when we surface and you help us when our giant Dolphin was hurt and had to submerge. We don't know any more then that. Just that we have to talk to the Gold Dragons here. What do you make of it? Strange, Real strange."
Red Star gives Ceira some Seaweed (to settle her stomach, tastes like mint) and tells her that he gets Landsick every time he surfaces.
Ceira Monday June 17th, 2002 10:59:38 PM
Ceira takes the seaweed and places it on her tongue. It quickly dissolves on her tongue and sends a cool and crisp wave up through her nasal passages. Her head rises as if filled with helium and her body follows suit. "Oooo.... that hit the spot!!! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!" and she leans down to give him a big kiss on the cheek.
After a moment of stunned silence, Ceira realizes her error so she quickly wipes his cheek with her fingers.
"So do you know what the Gold Dragons look like or where they might be found? Or were you going to ask us these same questions? HA HA HA!" Ceira laughs in jest, "I honestly have no clue. We've only met the one called Valdor. It'll be hard to find him since he seems to come and go on a whim."
Kenisha Monday June 17th, 2002 11:00:56 PM
Kenisha nods, "Yes, strange indeed. Since we too are going to see the Gold Dragons, why don't we travel together. There is safety in numbers in this troubled times. Will you need help travelling on land?"
Brahmah Monday June 17th, 2002 11:41:47 PM
Brahmah looks at Ceira. "Yes, Valdor is a very important hero of the Wold! And the Gold Dragons still need our help? Hmmm. This must be important! Maybe the Dragons are forming a Great Army?!!!" The warrior gets a very wide smile on his face. "War! This is Great!!" Then realizing that perhaps that was the wrong moment to delight in battle, he looks around. "Well, we should go. Yeah, we should."
Zeoll the Lesser Tuesday June 18th, 2002 6:54:59 AM
"While your joy in battle does you honorr, young minotaurr," Zeoll the Lesser says to Brahmah, "and no doubt brrave Zeoll the Greaterr would have apprroved, let us not forrget that we arre herre because we have Imporrtant Inforrmation for the Drragons -- Inforrmation that ourr ancestorr Tarrsus gave us about how to defeat the Darrk One!"
The liontaur bard also supervises and lends a hand in making sure the Heart of Domi is secure and carried off the ship safely.
"Thank you all," he tells the captain and crew.
Flat-top Tuesday June 18th, 2002 10:12:40 AM
Flat-top will stick up for the fighters, "I'm sorry if you feel that way, but we are a little restless. We do our best but Taurs are getting killed every day. So we feel a little helpless. If Somebody can tell us how to get to the root of the problem, we will be first in line to go into battle. That is why we were Chosen. Now let's go ashore and get to talk to these Gold Dragons."
Kalon (Ceil) Tuesday June 18th, 2002 10:17:46 AM
"Easy! Flat-top, it has not been play time for the rest of us either. Kenisha, let's bid good bye to the Captain and see to the lift." Kalon pick up his end of the Arc.
Leets Tuesday June 18th, 2002 2:19:46 PM
"I agress with you Brahmah! Although it happens in such terrible circumstances, I feel really excited about fighting by the side of people like Valdor! Even if Mateaus looks unstoppable, I feel like we still have a chance with such heroes!"
"As for how defeating Marteaus, tell me Red Star, since you are a priest, maybe you know a way to go to the land of the deads without, well...dying definitively...no?"
"Now What to Do" Asst. Dm Ceil Tuesday June 18th, 2002 4:30:12 PM
"AHOY! Passengers, I dock at South Harbor. Step careful, my Taurs Mates, It is dangerous out there" Yelled the Captain. "Fair Wind to yea backs." As you disembark and walk to the Lifts. Death and destruction is every where, and the people who are still alive are very discourage. You press on to the Lifts to Plateau City, just when you get there, all you see is the whole lifts are destroyed. You are a little discourage So you turn back to South Harbor with heavy Heart. On the way back is a Mistral Juggling an Apple, an Axe and a Rock. You stand there for a while and when he is done, you all applaud your approval. Out loud you ask him, "We feel much better now, but we wonder if there is another way to speak to the Dragon Counsel?" You are about to leave when the Minstrel tell you, "The only way I know of now, is the old warriors Rosco and Raven, they say one of them has a magic earring? They live up stairs in the Whisper Wind Inn." The Bard turns to the people, who are cheering and shouting for more, and they all look a little happier.
Brahmah Tuesday June 18th, 2002 7:09:20 PM
Brahmah looks at Zeoll, then walks up to the bard. "How young! do you take me for, Singer?" He askes, while towering over the Taur. "By my rec'ning, I'm there 'bouts sixty or so years old. Stopped counting after twenty, never hoped to make it this far!!" The Taur bursts into laughter. He grins at Leets, just nodding in response to his words. Brahmah walks back to Flat-top. "I'm more than just restless! I need a fight." He looks around then whispers to Flat-top. "You know... Roarr and me nev'r got along very well. I really wanted to brawl with him! He was lippy. Right now though, we could use his courage and brawn." Having made land fall, Brahmah helps Ceira get to land. "Get those land paws back lady! We can't wait for you." He smiles that idiotic toothy grin. Brahmah turns to the Captain. "Fair ya well, and may the wind rush you safe!"
Kenisha Tuesday June 18th, 2002 9:39:13 PM
Kenisha thanks the captain and crew before leaving the ship.
After talking to the minstrel, Kenisha says to the Chosen and Merfolk, "I guess we must go to the tavern he spoke of."
She looks about to see if it is within sight. If it isn't she will as one of the townsfolk if they can give directions to the tavern.
Ceira Wednesday June 19th, 2002 12:29:04 AM
Happy to be back on solid ground Ceira trots after Kenisha. Being careful not to trample any nearby humans, she also asks other residents to confirm the tavern's location. "I almost lost my lunch on that ship... but I'm ready for dinner!"
Kale Wednesday June 19th, 2002 8:32:32 AM

Flat-top Wednesday June 19th, 2002 9:22:13 AM
Flat-top ask the two mermen riding on his back, "I cannot believe all the destruction around here, But that juggler was good. And now for something to eat. Off to the Inn."
Kalon(Ceil) Wednesday June 19th, 2002 9:30:56 AM
"Did you get direction to the Inn? Kenisha. Brahmah is right we are getting hungry. Are you going to ask for an Apple Ice with Chocolate Sauce and a sour pickle again?"
Zeoll the Lesser Wednesday June 19th, 2002 11:35:15 AM
"Well, good Brrahmah," the liontaur replies, "when yourr hearrt is young, that's all that matterrs!"
When the minstrel mentions the "Whisper Wind Inn," Zeoll the Lesser gives a snort. "Huh! Well, that's an omen, if everr I hearrd one! Come, mino-taurrs, cen-taurrs, lion-taurrs, and merr-taurrs, we have an omen to follow!"
The Whisper Wind Inn [Asst. Dm Ceil] Wednesday June 19th, 2002 5:05:41 PM
The party hoof it down the street, going near the docks, and there at the far end of the street is a rundown (half broken) sign of the Fins and Hooves Tavern. every body enters through a broken door. All of you belly up to the bar and orders a hardy meal for all around (because you are famish) Then ask the owner as to where can we meet a Mr. Rosco and or Mr. Raven? "OH! I'm not the owner, I'm just their cook and Inn keeper. The owners are up stairs, the third room in front, Just knock". He pick up the dishes and bring them drinks (of their choice). Now you know that all of you cannot all go up stairs. You'll have to chose witch of you will meet with the Gentlemen? Choose Well!! Chosen Ones, the one that don't go up stairs will be at their drinks down stairs.
Ceira d20+2=13 Wednesday June 19th, 2002 11:31:46 PM
"Ahhh! That hit the spot!" says Ceira as she pats her stomach. She leans near Kale, "In case you're wondering, I had a fishy taste in my mouth ever since I pecked him. Just another reason why I was anxious to eat!"
Ceira then walks over to Kenisha and leans down to whisper, "I can turn invisible and follow you or anyone else who intends to go up. Sort of like a precautionary measure. Our Wold is plunging into chaos so there's no telling what may happen."
(OOC: If Kenisha does not mind, then Ceira will exit the tavern and leave the door held open. She will then dive into the nearest abandoned alley where she will cast Invisible on herself then rush back in before someone complains about the door being open. The spell will be good for 40 minutes. Move Silently=13)
Kenisha Wednesday June 19th, 2002 11:53:55 PM
(Since Ceil hasn't replies to a private e-mail yet, I'll just post two alternatives since I don't know who can actually make it up the stairs.)
OOC: If the stairs are made for humans-
Kenisha eyes the stairs and shakes her head at Ceira. "I doubt that I will be making it up those stairs. Besides, we don't know that there are any hostiles here. It might be best to save your spell for a better time and purpose." she whispers back.
Aloud she says, "If you would be so kind, Brahmah, Kale, could you go up and inquire as to whether or not Mr. Rosco or Mr. Raven are amiable with the notion of coming down to speak to us? We will wait down here."
OOC: If the stairs are made for four-footed taurs-
Kenisha eyes the stairs and shakes her head at Ceira. "We don't know that there are any hostiles here. It might be best to save your spell for a better time and purpose." she whispers back.
Aloud she says, "Brahmah, Zeoll, would you please come up with me? We'll go inquire to Misters Rosco and Raven. Hopefully they will be willing to speak to all of us down here. Red Star? Do you think you can join us up the stairs? It seems right to have members of all our races together in this."
If this is agreeable with everyone, Kenisha leads them upstairs and knock on the third door.
Brahmah d20+5=18 Thursday June 20th, 2002 12:17:14 AM
Brahmah looks at Kenisha. "Hostiles?! Hmmmm... well, I better go with you alright!" He grins, ear to ear. He follows Kenisha close in front, but not crowding her on the stairs, he takes a non-combative point position directly in front of her (Falchions not drawn, but loose in the sheathe ready for action). Somewhat leaden, having just ate a large meal, Brahmah is slow in movement.
OOC: Brahmah is cautious while going upstairs, Spotting for 18.
Flat-top Thursday June 20th, 2002 8:35:30 AM
"Well, as for me, I think that I'll stay here and swap lies with these Mermen here." As Flat-top leans on the bar. "Inn Keeper another round of your ale." Flat-top puts some coins on the bar and turn to the Merman and starts another story, "Now let me tell you of the time when we went to Weimic Island and we . . . ."
Kalon(Ceil) Thursday June 20th, 2002 8:43:06 AM
"Oh! this story I have to hear for myself. You go a head and talk to the men upstairs, Dear. I know you'll be all right there seem to be no danger anywhere." Kalon sit and listens to the lies of Flat-top and laugh with the others.
Kale Thursday June 20th, 2002 8:55:09 AM
Kale waits by the staircase wondering if he's going up or not. "Was he salty?" Kale whispers to Ceira
Zeoll the Lesser (Mage Armor) Thursday June 20th, 2002 10:13:57 AM
If he can go upstairs, Zeoll the Lesser will go wherever Kenisha directs. Otherwise he will wait downstairs. But sensing the possibility of trouble, either way he uses a moment to set down his shield and cast a Mage Armor spell -- it'll last for the next three hours. Then he picks up his shield again.
Leets Thursday June 20th, 2002 10:30:55 AM
The young centaur paladin nods at Kenisha's command.
"Anyway I prefer to stay here, with my eyes wide opened...We've fallen in more than one trap, and I prefer to be careful about who we have in our backs..."
"Go with Brahmah and Zeoll and do well Kenisha, as you always do, we all others will stay here..."
DM Jerry Friday June 21st, 2002 12:06:40 AM
Thanks for your great play while I was gone and special thanks to Ceil for doing a wonderful job in my stead. :)
On Sunday this was sent by private post:
Brahmah (Jay) Sunday June 16th, 2002 5:40:53 AM I was wondering. What DID happen to Roarr's player? I thought maybe the character left, but reading the archive, I found no reference to leaving. Did I miss something? :-)
My response: We had to let him go from The Wold when he wouldn't respond to email and due to his habit of non-posting over the last few months.
We will leave the game as is until July 20th and the end of the YOA. After that, we'll recruit some new players to fill us out once again.
(I will delete this post in a couple of days.)
Ignore the Sign? [DM Jerry] Friday June 21st, 2002 12:50:12 AM
The stairs indeed are sized for the mid-sized and two-legged races. (Those of the Centaur race who attempt the stairs will need to make Dex checks with a DC of 10. Failure means you slip and injure a leg for 1d6 points of damage. Those of the Minotaur races must duck and the stairs are slick requiring a Dex check of DC 6. Same result for failure. Liontaurs have no difficulties with the stairs.)
Once upstairs, there is a sign on a single door that says, "Do Not Disturb or Die a painful death."
A jovial voice below of the dwarven bartender says, "Ignore the sign. Knock loudly!"
Several of the patrons giggle at this remark.
Meanwhile down in the bar, the juggler from the street has entered the bar.
"Jagster! juggle this!" Comes the cry from various places in the tavern.
Suddenly various objects are flying through the air towards the skinny white faced half-elf. He catches each with ease juggling all 6 items.
Brahmah d20+2=22 d20-2=17 Friday June 21st, 2002 3:07:58 AM
OOC: Made Dex, with a 22
About to knock on the door, Brahmah hears the flying debris, and dashes back down stairs with a snear on his face. Ducking in all the right places traveling back down. The sound of his hooved feet rumble down the stair like a rock slide in a timbered forest. "Flat-top! Where are you?! Let's show these Woldians that WE Taurs love entertainment! Let's help that poor soul!" Hitting the bottom stair, he has his Falchion drawn. Brahmah emerges from the hall into the common-room, perhaps looming at least a head or two taller than the attackers. "Try throwing those at me!!" He bellows as he steps in front of the bard. "Back..OFF!!" (~ untrained Intimidation Check, whew! of 17)
OOC: Of course if anyone laughs or accousts Brahmah, they'll be losing an appendage. :) Also, if the bard is the TRAP and stabs Brahmah in the back, he'll been having a really bad day. :) Yes, I'm boasting!
Flat top Friday June 21st, 2002 8:48:58 AM
Flat-top will order a strong drink for Brahmah to take the edge off his ego. "Hey Barkeeper A drink for my friend here, a strong ONE." Flat-top trots off and holds Brahmah wrist (where the weapon is). With a chuckle in his voice, tells his friend "Easy there Brahmah, this is the minstrel we saw in the village. Don't you remember? Well, you should have seen him catch each and every one of those items the people through at him. Sit down and watch him, he's good. Very Good." Flat-top will order a strong drink for Brahmah to take the edge off his ego. "Hey Barkeeper A drink for my friend here, a strong ONE."
Kalon (Ceil) Friday June 21st, 2002 8:56:13 AM

Zeoll the Lesser d20+11=27 Friday June 21st, 2002 12:07:48 PM
Zeoll the Lesser ignores the juggler, somewhat looking his nose down at the tosser of many objects.
"Well," the liontaur bard says as he leaps up the stairs instead, "since Domi never Chose me the way he did everrybody else, it matterrs less if I die, so I will go firrst! I will venturre the wrrath of Drragons and ignorre the sign! Besides, I am nimble of foot, good of looks, sharrp of tongue, loud of mouth, and smarrt of a--"
The wemic's words are cut off as he stumbles on the last step -- although Zeoll doesn't fall or injure himself, he also doesn't quite finish whatever it was he was about to say.
Outside the door, he reads the sign, composes himself, and thinks for a moment. If there is room, he takes out his bullroarer and sets it to thrumming melodically overhead. Then he breaks into a song, starting low and then growing louder and more insistent ... hello? hello? hello? hello? Mister Rraven? Mister Rroscoe? Please excuse my brringing news -- But we have a common foe!
After a pause, if there is no response, the bard continues ... Hey Now! Well Now! Come Now! Show Now! Frriendly Drragons! If You Know How Please Come Forrth And Meet My Demand! Help Us Keep Ourr Sacrred Vow!
After another pause, if there is STILL no response, the bard finishes, shouting at the end ... BY ALEMI! BY DEAD DOMI! I BESEECH THEE -- DON'T BETRRAY ME! HEARR OURR TIDINGS! STOP YOURR HIDINGS! YOU"LL BE GLAD, I GUARRANTEE!
[OOC: Perform Check 27 with the bullroarer, 25 without]
If this fails to produce an answer, Zeoll heads back downstairs and says, "Nobody's home!"
If there is an answer -- and if Zeoll the Lesser gets to speak before he is slain -- he says meekly, "Downstairrs, the Chosen Taurrs of Domi, along with select Merr-folk, rrequest the honorr of addrressing you on matterrs most imporrtant as soon as possible. Thank you."

Kenisha shakes her head as she watches Brahmah race back down the stairs. When Kale doesn't go up and Zeoll does, she decides to carefully make her way up the human-made stairs. After all, she is relatively small for a centaur.
"Now don't eat my Apple Ice, Kalon. And leave me at least one pickle please." She teases her beloved wemic as she starts up the stairs. (Refl = 13)
At the top of the stairs she listens as Zeoll serenades the door. When he is done she adds, "Yes please, our mission is of the most vital importance." (Diplomacy check = 6)

Upstairs, as Zeoll the Lessor kicks into his final verse, there is a series of curses! Then the sound of breaking glass. Then a screaming voice.
"Its gonna blow!"
There follows the sound of scrambling feet and someone trying to unlock the door.
-----
Meanwhile, down in the tavern, Brahmah's words echo throughout the room:
"Try throwing those at me!!"
There is a slight pause as the shock of the moment washes over the mostly dwarven patrons of the tavern.
Then....
A large number of objects from beer steins to legs of meat to lit candles full of hot wax sail through the air towards Brahmah!
One beer stein hits him on the chin doing 5 hit points of damage to him.
A wine glass alto hits doing 5 hit points of damage and a spash of wax streaks across his face doing 5 additional hit points of damage.
[The wax is temporary damage.]
Laughter fills the room as patrons search for more things to throw.
One dwarf says, "Ow! Sorry. Didn't mean to hit ya that hard."
One dwarf quickly unscrews a circular ball shaped piece of wood from the stair banister and sends it flying.
It's as if the whole room watches this wooden ball as it heads unerringly for the forehead of the Huge Minotaur.
However, as it travels it seems to slow down...slower...slower until it touches the forehead gently and speaks so that only Brahmah can hear the words:
"I am a communication orb from the Dragon Consortium. Speak and they will hear."
Brahmah d20-1=11 Saturday June 22nd, 2002 4:00:59 AM
Brahmah gets noticeably upset (the recognizable love for carnage he usually conveys) and heads out towards the dwarf that 'Didn't mean to hit you so hard,' with every intention of sending the stout man through a wall.
But he stops as the globe hits him and he hears a voice in his head. "Uh.... what?" he says, as he looks around just adding to the humor of the moment. "Uh.... okay. We're ... the Chosen of Domi from the Taur Isles. We need to talk to you... uh, the Dragon Consortium. Oh... the MerTaurs need... have important stuff to say... I guess." The huge mino-Taur just stands stupified as the globe rolls, stopping at his feet. He picks it up and shakes it. "Uh... hello?!"
He glances at the dwarf who threw it. Then looks dumbly at Flat-top. And back again.
OOC: I made a Int check just to see if Brahmah recognizes the dwarf or even looks at the right dwarf who threw it.
Flat-top Saturday June 22nd, 2002 6:10:21 PM
Flat-top advance to stand beside Brahmah, so he can handle his temper. But when Flat-top saw the action of that wooden ball going slower at Brahmah's forehead. Flat-top stares at the thing with open mouth. "Whoa!! That's not your average missle."
Kalon(Ceil) Saturday June 22nd, 2002 6:13:30 PM

Kenisha Sunday June 23rd, 2002 9:13:57 AM
Kenisha grabs Zeoll by an arm and tugs him to one side of the door. "We may want to move farther away."
She moves to the top of the stairs and turns to face the door again.
Leets Sunday June 23rd, 2002 1:27:17 PM
Still fearing an attack or a trap, Leets reacts quickly and comes to Brahmah with his shield. However, he quickly understands that there is no real danger, and the wooden ball arrives as he looks around.
"Oh...We've got to be more careful...This could have been a missile, or a bomb, something like this...What does it have to say?"
Zeoll the Lesser Sunday June 23rd, 2002 11:55:43 PM
The bard, caught up in his own performance, is slow to react -- but Kenisha's guidance keeps him from standing with mouth agape.
He too retreats and prepares. He takes out his shield and stands ready, leg muscles tensed for a leap.
Ceira Monday June 24th, 2002 1:25:54 AM
Ceira's eyes grow suspicious at the sight of the wooden ball. She begins scanning the crowds for anyone who might be actively controlling the ball. Seeing no one, she turns her attention back towards the ball and giggles as she listens to Brahmah try to talk to the ball. "Are you feeling okay Brahmah?" she asks.
"Waaaahhhh!?" [DM Jerry] d20=2 Monday June 24th, 2002 8:48:39 PM
Brahmah is able to detect which dwarf threw it. He's the one over by the stairs with his mouth and eyes open and the soup noodles dropping from his lower lip. The Drawf vocalizes, "Waaaahhhh!?"
The effect on most of the patrons is evident. Many stare. Some scream. Others in reflex loosen the peace bonds on their swords.
Brahmah, Flattop, and Leets please make a spot check of 15 to detect a slowly growing warmth inside the orb. Brahmah feels a longing to receive information from the Orb. Flattop and Leets get this sensation from a distance--more of a longing to be touched.
Ceira, who is scanning the crowd, notices that some few patrons seem to not be able to see the Orb and look around trying to figure out what has everyone so riled up.
-----
The door to the left of the stairs being at the end of the hallway is pretty impossible to move so that one is at it's side. Retreating works however.
About the time Kenisha pulls Zeoll to where the stairway is, there is a huge explosion.
KWOWWWWOWOWWWWW!
The door bulges and creaks as the power of the explosion pushes at it.
A voice cries, "AAIIIIIEEEEEE--Oww!"
Then the door blows upon and the power of multicolored energy drives the door forward.
It falls at the feet of Kenisha and Zeoll.
A rather young man with a grey beard falls at your feet riding the door.
"Ow." He says again.
One of the patrons, about to throw a soupbowl at Brahmah, pauses in mid-throw as the orb manifests itself and the bowl slides off of his hand landing on the floor missing the top of Ceil's head by just a bit. (d20=2)
One of the patrons looks at Kale nearly throwing something and said, "Yeah I thought he was just another juggler too. This is mighty strange isn't it?"
Brahmah d20+5=24 Monday June 24th, 2002 9:43:50 PM
Brahmah, who is holding the Orb, says to Flat-top, "Hey, this things warm!" He shakes it again. "Hey, you said speak, I spoke, but their not speaking back!! What's wrong with this thing?!" The mino-Taur looks at the dwarf and snears. Then hearing the explosion, Brahmah looks at the ceiling and exclaims. "I KNEW IT, I JUST KNEW IT!! HOSTILES! Kenisha and Zeoll are up there.... I CAN'T believe I left them there!" He pockets the Orb casually and runs back upstairs, watching his step as he goes, trying to avoid a possible mis-step. Before reaching the bottom of the stairs, however, Brahmah looks over at the dwarf whom threw the Orb. "Don't go anywhere Stout-one, I'll be back for you in just a second." He pauses briefly. "Where are yur manners?! Don't talk with yur mouth full!!" Turning the Leets, Brahmah says to him, "Watch him!" Pointing at the dwarf.
OOC: If the warmth from the Orb is unbarable, Brahmah wraps it in a bar towel or something of the like... preferrably a damp towel.
Kenisha d20+3=14 Monday June 24th, 2002 10:41:21 PM
Looking concerned, Kenisha asks, "Are you alright, sir?"
She also looks through the doorway to see if there is anything she should be worried about. (Spot= 14)
Ceira Tuesday June 25th, 2002 12:47:39 AM
The explosion startles Ceira. As Brahmah runs upstairs, she is still left a bit confused but takes note of the dwarf that Brahmah points out. She approaches the dwarf, looms over him and speaks, "Hello dwarf. Are you the one responsible for that floating ball thing? May I have your name?"
Flat-top d20+1=20 Tuesday June 25th, 2002 5:58:33 AM
Flat-top hardly feels the soup bowl as it grazes his head. His attention is on the Orb. Flat-top stand there open mouth and stare at it for a while, Then turns to Kale and Leets asking "DID? Did you see that THING? Is it me or did it glow?"
(OOC: Made my spot check 20)
Kalon(Ceil d20+3=7 Tuesday June 25th, 2002 6:12:21 AM
Kalon slumps over his bowl of Apple Ice (so that no soup noodles or flying ale will spoil his Ice). He looks up at Flat-top and ask "what Orb? What Glow?". Then goes back to his bowl of Apple Ice.
When there was a big explosion. Kalon shouts as he runs up the stairs (with cat like grace) "Kanisha! Are you alright?."
Kale Tuesday June 25th, 2002 9:02:23 AM
"Yeah, it is weird." Kale mutters to the patron. as Brahmah runs for the stairs, Kale moves in his way and says "What did you put in your pocket?"
Leets d20+3=19 Tuesday June 25th, 2002 1:17:49 PM
"Oh no..."
Leets shouts as he realizes there is something strange with this orb. To him, there is no doubt...
"Brahmah! Throw it! THROW IT! IT IS a bomb!!!"
"YOU ALL! UNDER THE TABLES! ON THE GROUND!"
Zeoll the Lesser d20+2=19 Tuesday June 25th, 2002 2:13:47 PM
The wemic bard tries to lend a hand. "Herre, let me help you," he says as he reaches down.
"Are you Misterr Rraven orr Misterr Rroscoe? We need help in contacting the Drragons."
Peering into the room, he tries to see if anyone is inside -- maybe hurt. (Spot check 19 -- wow!)
Flat-top Tuesday June 25th, 2002 3:33:41 PM
"Hey! LEETS! How are we Centaurs going to hide under a table?" ask Flat-top. "Not with that roump of mine. . . or yours."
Magical Jumping Dwarves [DM Jerry] Wednesday June 26th, 2002 12:48:49 AM
The Orb does not seem to be getting hotter as Kale stops Brahmah on the stairs.
When Leets shouts his warning, dwarves everywhere, used to explosions in this place owned by an archmage , obey instantly hitting the deck in all directions.
In the confusion, Ceira has half a dozen dwarves jumping in all directions and it is difficult to keep track of which one she is watching. (Int. check of 14 to keep track of him)
-----
Upstairs, the young looking mage slowly gets to his feet.
"Yeah I'm ok. You? Yes I'm Rossco. The dragon left the orb for you folks. Is it important? I've got this Delayed Blast Fireball...well mage stuff to work on."
His voice is gruff and focused. His face shows the frustration of being interrupted. He looks longingly at the ruins of his lab and then back at Kenisha.
He dusts himself off and helps Kenisha to her feet.
Kenisha Wednesday June 26th, 2002 1:39:37 AM
"An Orb? We were told you had a magic earring. Oh well, no bother either way. Where is this Orb? The Chosen and the Merfolk must speak with the Dragon Consortium as soon as possible." Kenisha says to Rossco.
To the calls from below she shouts back, "We're fine. Mr. Rossco was just experimenting."
Brahmah d20-1=18 Wednesday June 26th, 2002 2:09:38 AM
Brahmah, hearing the calls from Kenisha, he now knows she's okay. He draws his attention back to the dwarf, ignoring Kale, but he places his hand in his pocket out of habit being in crowded places, fully aware of Kales 'profession'(knows of his rogue-ish tendencies, and he is used to theft on the docks). (Int Check 18) Pin pointing the dwarf down to the table his was at, now on the floor, under a table. "There you are!" He gently moves Kale away with a grin on his face, and heads toward the dwarf. "Excuse me friend." His intentions with the orb are unknown, but he feels determined some how, to keep it for himself and for the party as a whole.
Kale Wednesday June 26th, 2002 8:52:07 AM
letting Brahmah go, Kale keeps an eye on him as he begins to climb the stairs. "I wonder whats going on up here." he says to himself
Flat-top Wednesday June 26th, 2002 12:13:36 PM
Flat-top Look around, "I'M not going up stairs, too many Taurs up there already. Hey! Barkeeper another order of your ale." Then look under the table, "Everything is all right now, come on out and we'll ask the Mistral to juggle again!"
Ceira d20+3=11 Wednesday June 26th, 2002 3:19:50 PM
Ceira flinches at Leet's claim but believes the proximity of the bomb is too close for that dwarf. Not being accustomed to keeping an eye on such a small humanoid, Ceira easily loses the mysterious dwarf in the diving crowds.
Leets Wednesday June 26th, 2002 3:46:10 PM
"Ahem..."
Leets slowly looks over his shield, hearing no bomb exploding. He feels a little bit confused, but still cautious about this orb...
Zeoll the Lesser Wednesday June 26th, 2002 6:24:44 PM
The bard bows low when Roscoe introduces himself. "I am Zeoll the Lesserr," he says, "and you have the honorr herre of meeting Kenisha the Wise, Leaderr of the Chosen Taurr of Domi."
"I am sorrry to interrupt you. But ourr need is grreat indeed. Perrhaps you can show us this Orrb?"
"Thank you."
Great Meeting [DM Jerry] Wednesday June 26th, 2002 11:12:48 PM
Rossco smiles in a thin-lipped way and says, "I have an earring as well. Gather your group. I have a private meeting room downstairs to the side of the kitchen. It's....protected. No one will overhear us or bother us there."
Once everyone is in the private room, Rossco closes the door and locks it.
"The orb is outside in the tavern. It was provided for groups to contact the Dragon Consortium about information concerning Marteaus.
I, as a Gold Dragon, wear an earring that lets me talk directly to my friends who are actively adventuring right now as well as those who are not.
Let's do this the direct way. Faster.
He tugs on his earring and pulling it off lays it on the table.
He speaks, "Hey boys, Rossco here. I have an adventuring group of Taurs and some Mermen adventurers who both have information for you."
A voice answers almost immediately. It seems as if the voice is in the room.
"Where ya at Rossco?"
Rossco says, "Mordrid, we're in the meeting room off of the kitchen."
"I think I'll come myself. Be there in a sec."
A few seconds later, there is a popping sound and a dark cloaked figure appears in the room. His cloak has gold trim and he carries himself as a hunter, senses aware of everything.
"Well met my friend."
He embraces Rossco and then turns quickly upon the two groups smiling to put you at your ease.
"So who are you and what have you discovered?"
Kenisha Wednesday June 26th, 2002 11:43:33 PM
Kenisha steps forward and bows slightly before Mordrid. "I am Kenisha, Leader of the Chosen of Imod. We have travelled long and hard in our quest to restore the Heart of Domi. We have succeeded, and in doing so, we have been given a way to defeat Marteaus."
"Tarsus, the first Taur created by Tomi, told us thus before he faded away to his just rewards in the afterlife: 'As I fade to enter the Lands of the dead. So you must also fade and enter the lands of the dead. Not as souls pining for rest, but as undead. The dead do not strive! The Undead does strive. And in the lands of the dead, the dead cannot die. This is the secret. This is the path to defeat Marteaus.'"
Kenisha takes a deep breath then continues, "We need a way to enter the Land of the Dead as Tarsus said. Do you know of a way? I thought that maybe a priest of Gargul might know a way, or that perhaps you of the Dragon Consortium might know of a way."
Brahmah Thursday June 27th, 2002 1:01:53 AM
Sitting with the rest, Brahmah doesn't have much to say in response, he just nods and listens.
But when the story about Tarsus comes up, his nodding gets more vigorous. But when the mention of Undead and the Land of the Dead is told, Brahmah shudders. "I think I just had a thought!!" He says with concern. "Remember when I killed Ludlow? Someone laughed but there was no one around! Then when I slayed the Great Priest Raakis, he called for Domi, who didn't listen of course, then he was taken in a light, no corpse, just blood where he stood!! What if Marteous has gathered warriors from those we killed for his 'Undead' army in the Land of the Dead?! What if those we ALL killed that worshipped, The Dark One, went to him as warriors? What if that's what Tarsus' words mean? We are to go there... dead, and fight him... to live? If we go there, we'll see those we killed, like some nightmare. I have a feeling I'll be seeing Raakis one last time."
He stops talking. "I guess that's what they mean by an ee-pif-any! Is that the right word? Ee-pif-any?"
Brahmah (additional) d20-1=19 Thursday June 27th, 2002 3:47:16 AM
"Oh yeah, I forgot to mention. There was laughter after Raakis disappeared too!"
OOC: Int check 19, to remember what happened during the brutal fight with Raakis, just before going crazy for Ceira.
Zeoll the Lesser d20+11=19 Thursday June 27th, 2002 6:17:40 AM
Zeoll the Lesser steps up, speaking Common in his usual thick accent. "With many thanks forr yourr indulgence, good Morrdrrid and Rroscoe, we do need to know how to enterr the Land of Dead. But we need one morre piece of inforrmation as well."
The liontaur bard begins to whirl his thrumming bullroarer overhead as he breaks into song [Perform Check 19] ... A noble ghost has told the Taurrs, "To beat the Darrk One, you must darre, "To die and fade past living shorres "And rreach the place that Life abhorrs, "Wherre dwell the dead who Strife ignorres, "So perrish all and jourrney therre!"
The fading ghost then said, "Indeed, "The souls therre neitherr strrive norr trry. "Don't go as souls who have no need. "But as Undead you'll interrcede "Forr foul Undead have will and grreed. "And as Undead you'll then be frreed! "Wherre dwell the dead, Undead can't die."
"The secrret to the Darrk One's end -- "Become Undead and then descend "Into the place wherre spirrits wend."
The bard then speaks in his normal voice. "It is not enough just to go to the Land of Dead -- Tarrsus told us that we must enterr as undead. But how do we become undead?"
Zeoll the Lesser then looks at the Mer-Taurs, wondering what they will say.
Kale Thursday June 27th, 2002 8:53:03 AM
shuttering at the mention of the undead land, Kale thinks to himself I hope he doesnt know
Leets Thursday June 27th, 2002 12:38:53 PM
Seeing that nobody seems to react to his mistake, Leets waits for those who went upstairs...
Flat-top Thursday June 27th, 2002 12:45:52 PM
Flat-top stands there watches and listens to what every body is saying. He decides that they have covered every thing. "I agree I don't have any thing to add."
Kalon(Ceil) Thursday June 27th, 2002 12:49:13 PM
"That was very good, Dear. You covered every thing that I can remember." said Lalon while patting Kenisha hand.
Mordrid [DM Jerry] Saturday June 29th, 2002 3:19:26 PM
"We were preparing a dream sending to those who had contacted us after we had assimilated all the information and decided upon a course of action.
"However, as usual, adventuring groups don't usually wait for answers. Some are already proceeding on their information. We will make a formal statement soon.
"In the meantime, I suggest you act on your information and seek out becoming undead and ways to enter the afterlife.
"There are two ways I've heard of so far that are quickly assessible to turn you undead. One is to find some SoulEaters. A group from the Emerald Kingdom is doing it that way. Another way is to enter Koshe-Marr, the realm of terror. Created by Marteaus himself, he was using this machine to turn people undead. An adventuring group has somehow morphed this machine into a gateway making it inert--unless you go through it.
"Now, I'm not sure, but going through it may take you to another strange place, but the gate is two way so you can go through it again and that doesn't make you living. So you can go through to wherever it takes you, come back again, and then exit Koshe-Marr the way you came.
"he Soul-Eaters you have to eat. They turn you undead in about a day and it's very painful. Very.
"s to how to get to the Lands of the Dead. This Emerald Kingdom group plans on visiting a place called Butterfly Meadow near the Tree of Parting. There they plan on going through when the annual meeting between lovers occurs, one alive and one dead. They are friends with the living one. I suppose that others could go that way as well.
"here may be ways there from Koshe-Marr as Marteaus had to have a way to get to the Godwar. We're still working on that part. We hope to have answers soon. We must have answers soon. If you can help in this department, it would help us all.
"'ve got to get back. Our group is engaged in trying to find the way there plus assimilating all the information coming in. We'll broadcase a sleep message as soon as we can.
"f there's anything else, you know how to find us. Main tavern of any mid-sized or larger town has an orb.
"I thank you for your information. It helps us confirm what others have said. Some of the information is way out there and hard to use for developing actual answers and strategies.
"Rossco here can help you get to the places you want to go to and find the things you need to find. Good luck and may we survive to save the day!"
He clasps each of your hands warmly and you feel his strength and personal fire to succeed.
He closes his cloak and is gone.
Brahmah Sunday June 30th, 2002 5:28:24 AM
Brahmah just stares, not knowing what to say.
Then as always, he breaks the brief silence.
"WELL! This is goingta be interesting, going dead I mean. Hmmm... dead." The huge mino-Taur laughs aloud. "I like the gate idea, the one that turns us undead I mean. But it goes to the place The Dark Lord created?! The ... what'd he call it, the souleater, don't sound nice ta me. 'Very painful. Very!' Nope, not for me, not that I couldn't take the pain, but still, the gate sounds much easier!"
The minoTaur thinks a moment. "I thought I'd die defending the Wold, but to die... I mean, well, turning 'dead' to go to War on Marteaus' turf... 's too wierd for me! That's why I'm not a thinker! I'm a follower." Looks dumbly at the group.
Kale Sunday June 30th, 2002 8:59:16 AM
"Neither option appeals to me. I say we let the other groups take care of it." Kale says
Flat-top Sunday June 30th, 2002 11:39:47 AM
"Don't look at me, Brahmah. I'm a fighter and a military taur. I follow orders." Flat-top speak up, then with a lower voice tell Kale. "I'm with you Kale. I don't like either options. Does the Mermen have a better idea?"
Zeoll the Lesser Sunday June 30th, 2002 12:03:34 PM
The wemic bard thinks over the options.
"Well, we can eat a soul-eaterr and die a painful lingerring death, or trry our luck with a machine designed by the Darrk One himself. Hmmm."
"Arre we surre my idea about letting some ghouls kill us isn't easierr?"
Overhearing Kale and Flat-top. Zeoll the Lesser agrees. "I think you two have the rright idea. You guys arre the Chosen, but Domi didn't choose you to be undead things! How arre undead taurrs supposed to unite the Taurrs? That's crrazy."
He pauses and thinks for a moment. "We learrned verry rrecently that Domi once offerred the liontaurrs a path, but they said no to him, and frrom that bad choice came the warr between Taurrs, Betrrayal, Sunderring, and Exile. I fearr that if all of us say no again, it will lead to rruin."
"But I'm not Chosen! Domi didn't pick me! It doesn't matterr if I die. You all arre too imporrtant to rrisk, but not me! I'll become an undead thing and maybe help the Drragons beat Marrteaus! The rrest of you Taurrs go home and help ourr people! That arrmy must be fighting in the Taurr Islands by now! I bet Mrr. Rroscoe can get you home in time to defend Hearrthold Keep!"
"Isn't that rright, Mrr. Rroscoe? And you can send me to one of those otherr places forr the undead trreatment. At home and on hunt I've eaten lots of weirrd things -- I think I trrust a worm morre than a machine."
Leets Sunday June 30th, 2002 12:06:00 PM
The young centaur paladin listens carefully Mordrid's explanations, obviously worried.
"I definitively have to refuse the idea of eating one of those 'soul eaters' that turn one into an undead. Mother often exdplained me that paladin were chaneling positive energy, and if I was becoming an undead, I would theorically be turned instantly into a pile of ashes..."
"So, as for myself, I vote for the gate to Koshe-Marr. Moreover, it looks like we could more easily find Marteaus there, and we have to face him..."
Kenisha Sunday June 30th, 2002 11:08:27 PM
"I agree that the Koshe-Marr gate is the preferable of the two choices so far. While we are here, I still think we should find a priest of Gargul and investigate that possibility." Kenisha answers after a moment.
She turns to the mer-folk. "Do you have any pieces of this puzzle that might help?"
Zeoll the Lesser Monday July 1st, 2002 6:15:12 PM
After hearing Kenisha speak, Zeoll bows in deference to her. "You arre the wise leaderr of the Chosen, good Kenisha. What you say, goes! Find a prriest of Garrgul and investigate this foul machine."
"Misterr Rroscoe, can you help us with these things?"
Ceira Tuesday July 2nd, 2002 1:32:38 AM
"I'm too young to die or become undead!" exclaims Ceira. "And I dislike anykind of pain even more so those soul-eating thingys are out of the question. Especially getting slaughtered by ghouls." she adds as she looks to Zeoll the Lesser.
"As Kenisha and many others of you have mentioned, the gate is a preferrable option. The only problem is the lack of any leads. Hmm..."
The Solution [CDM Jerry] Tuesday July 2nd, 2002 12:04:51 PM
Your minds cloud for a second and then clear a someone tries to communicate with you. In a moment, the message comes.
"He who has heart to fight against the evil that threatens, must hear my words. I am Valdor, the Dragonstone. Leader of the Dragon Consortium and the Gold Dragons. Friend to any who oppose the Usurper and brother to any who have taken up this fight.
Not so long ago, I told you all it had begun...and so it did. Many have found ways to triumph against the armies threatening and many have died trying. These days and weeks have been hard and has seen many good people slain for no reason but a lust for power.
My friends, it is time for us to strike back! Not at the armies, or Marteaus's clerics now, but at the very God himself. As most of you know by now, a God can be defeated and even killed by mortals. There is no easy way, but it can be done.
The Usurper has taken the fight to our God's lands and only in the Lands of the Dead, can a God be defeated by a mortal. The Dragon Consortium has concluded, with the evidence produced from many of you hearing my words, that there is only one way to enter the lands of the dead. This is by becoming that which we have all fought against or heard many horror stories about. We must become undead creatures if we wish to enter and fight the slug Marteaus.
There are two ways known at this time to accomplish this. The first is by eating a souleater. It is a slug rare and hard to find. We have arranged for it to be available at The Catacombs and therefore at all businesses in their network. Simply go to the nearest magic or general store and check if they have a Catacombs connection. [In gameplay we go to the Catacombs Board after entering a store in character.] There ask for the Dragon Consortium Discount when buying anything else. Do this while in a private shopping room to avoid being overheard. Eat what you buy. It is very painful. Be prepared.
The other method of becoming undead is to enter the lands that Marteaus has created called Koshe-Marr. Once there, you must enter through a gate and come back out. It is a new gate and part machine. That's all we know of it's description. Going through the gate will turn you undead. Return through the gate and escape Koshe-Marr.
Only by becoming undead can you enter the Lands of the Dead and retain your ability to strive and quest.
The next step is to enter the lands of the Dead. We know of only one means to do this at this point in time. Seek out a place called the Parting Tree in the northern part of the Badlands. It is South of Culverwood on the main Trade Route heading west from Edenmoor. It should be just a day or so west of Edenmoor and before you get to the Emerald Kingdom. In ten days hence, any who would dare to make a difference must come there to an Inn called the Hidden Viper. From there we will journey a short distance to the Gate through which we will enter the lands of the dead and take out this would be God who has caused us such grief.
It will soon be over and there will be many in need of help. We are all brothers and sisters who take up this fight and must support one another no matter the outcome. If you cannot do this vile thing, I surely understand and ask you to help the others we leave behind. I take no one who isn't sure of themself in this action. Bring your hearts and your courage. Be strong for the end is near. Have Courage!"
His voice slowly disappears on the wind and as you think it's gone you hear once more, but very faintly, " Have courage..."
Rossco Explodes [DM Jerry Tuesday July 2nd, 2002 1:17:57 PM
As Kale and then others speak he begins to simmer his face turning red. He looks like he's about to speak when Valdor's message comes through.
Afterward he does not hesitate.
He stands, face red and hands clenched.
"You're a bunch of wimps! You wanna go home! Give up! The Dark Lord, Marteaus killed your god and you wanna go home!"
He hops up on top of the table. He seems to eminate magic and power glowing from his pores in his anger.
"What does it mean to be chosen by your people to bring them together? Throw nice tea parties and say we should all get along? Dress up in finery and attend important functions?
"Or does it mean fighting and clawing and hurting to achieve important things for your people? Where is your courage?
Mimicking you he says, "I hate pain. This way might hurt. This route is easier.
Turning to each of you in turn he screams, "Where is that "Get to Know me Domi" attitude and bravery staring death in the face over and over again!
"That's right, go home to mommy! I have news for ya folks. While you've been gone, Marteaus army has pretty much destroyed your homeland! The borders of the Wold are receding and within a week your homeland will fall off the edge! What will you do then? Run and hide? Cry? Or step up and do something about it no matter how much it hurts or how desparate the chances!
"My friend Valdor could use your help if you're heroes. Otherwise, don't even dare get near him. He doesn't need anyone showing up at the Tree of Parting who is not a hero!
"You represent what some say are those destined to bring your peoples together as they were in the beginning of times.
Put up! Or shut up!"
He then with a blinding flash is gone.
Zeoll the Lesser Tuesday July 2nd, 2002 1:47:55 PM
Zeoll blinks and gapes for a moment at Roscoe's words. "G-gosh," the liontaur says, "he seemed verry passionate about that."
Zeoll the Lesser thinks about the ramifications of pissing off Roscoe.
"Too bad, though, he left beforre he hearrd what the merr-taurrs had to say. And beforre he could teleporrt us to the Machine of Evil. I guess we'll have to go to the Catacombs and buy worrms. At least I know how to get therre."
The druid/bard turns to the chief priest of the mer-taurs. "Rred Star, have you any advice forr us? Do you know how to get to this place?" He recites, "The Parrting Trree in the northerrn parrt of the Badlands. It is South of Culverrwood on the main Trrade Rroute heading west frrom Edenmoor."
"Orr we can just give it up as a bad business and go home." Zeoll looks at Kenisha.
Ceira Tuesday July 2nd, 2002 3:35:22 PM
Ceira stands stunned by Roscoe's message. More for the fact that he has brought the realization upon her that she had been letting despair slowly seep in and nip away at her soul. Ceira realizes her thoughts and actions are still reeling from the aftershock of the slain Gods of the Wold. Knowing a God died just makes one feel even more vulnerable and helpless because she would die much more easier than a God.
"He is right!" she finally speaks in a bolder voice. "It's foolish to fear pain! I am one of few who have been chosen by the mighty Domi. I feel ashamed to have even had that thought linger in my mind. It's off to the Catacombs we go!"
Leets Tuesday July 2nd, 2002 3:36:49 PM
"He's right! No time to lose anymore! Whichever way is the faster, we must find a way to face Marteaus! Now that we have to face the Impostor, any single arm able to wield a sword will be needed!"
"I don't know what you think but many would give anything to be at our place and have the opportunity to do something. I won't stay backward doing nothing when I have a chance destroying such a great evil"
"Zeoll, show me where we can find those worms: with or without the powers the gods granted me, I have an evil god to fight."
Kenisha Tuesday July 2nd, 2002 6:29:19 PM
Kenisha's face is cold as she turns to face the others. "Now we are left with but one way to join the fight. Without the knowledge of where the Koshe-Marr is, we are left with the souleater way to fight Marteaus. We would do well to think long and hard at what Rossco has said." She puts strong emphasis on the word "we".
"As for me I will go on, alone if I must, but I will not flee with my tail between my legs!"
ooc: If Red Star doesn't have anything to add (and I suspect the merfolk won't since they've been mum for quite some time), Kenisha will add the following:
"Raorr, find out how much these souleaters are going to cost us each. Unfortunately I've already spent all of my share of the moneys given to us by our Taurs back home. I do still have 30 gold pieces, and will offer up some of the things I've purchased for trade if needed. The rest of us will split up and search for the temple of Gargul to see if they might know of where the Koshe-Marr is and if we have time to get there and to the Tree of Parting."
Kale Wednesday July 3rd, 2002 2:20:18 AM
"I wonder if that windbag is going." Kale says off-handedly. "I bet he just dissapeared upstairs. Someone should go check so that we can get the info we need."
Brahmah Wednesday July 3rd, 2002 2:33:13 AM
Brahmah gets noticably upset and stands up, with drawn weapons.
"I don't care who you are! How DARE you!! I have Honor! I AM Chosen!!" He dives at Roscoe, fully ready to kill the rude man. But lands on his face. Brahmah wishs he had moved rather than spoke. Next time he sees the man, he'll let him know what he thinks of HIS words said here today.
Looking up, he just begins to laugh aloud.
Then looking at Kenisha, "Roarr?! He's gone."
"I still think the Gate is easier."
Kenisha Wednesday July 3rd, 2002 8:14:21 AM
OOC: Ack! My bad! I meant to say Brahmah since I knew he'd been to the Catacombs too. <blush>
Flat-top Wednesday July 3rd, 2002 8:30:36 AM
Flat-top is dazed, then he look to Kenisha and then hand over all of his gold to her (6,068gp), "This is all the gold I have, I'm a fighter, I was chosen by Domi, I will go through pain, suffering and fight the Big Bad Slug. Count me in, we must go in a hurry." Flat-top look around and the Mermen are gone, "Well" said Flattop,"They're not waisting time?"
Kalon(Ceil) Wednesday July 3rd, 2002 8:39:16 AM
Kalon listens very closely to Kenisha, and to the determination in her voice. He know that she's with his kitten, and is now going to fight anyway. He look into her eyes, "That what I love about you, here take all money that was for us. It's yours to do with what is best, I'm with you all the way."
Grist [DM Jerry] Wednesday July 3rd, 2002 8:14:54 PM
A dwarf knocks at the door. When admitted, he says, "Master Rossco has asked me to assist you in travelling where you would go. I have travelled far and wide over the years and have nothing better to do with The Wold coming to an end an all. So I can take you back to your ship, or anywhere else you'd like to spend your final days."
He smiles weakly.
Zeoll the Lesser d20+4=11 Wednesday July 3rd, 2002 10:14:40 PM
Zeoll the Lesser puts forth his two cents, in Tauric -- "Kenisha, if I can offerr advice? I think, based on what Rroscoe ad Valdorr said, that we can simplify things. We just need to buy those worrms and get to the Parrting Tree. No need to go to Kosh-Marrr or a temple of Garrgul. I don't think we have time for that, anyway."
"Thanks, Brrahmah, forr going to the Catacombs. If you need money, ask -- I have plenty."
The liontaur turns to the dwarf. "Masterr Grrist -- if that's yourr name? -- can you get us within ten days to ..." The liontaur remembers hard "... the Parrting Trree in the norrthern parrt of the Badlands. It is South of Culverrwood on the main Trrade Rroute heading west frrom Edenmoorr. It should be just a day or so west of Edenmoorr and beforre you get to the Emerrald Kingdom. We seek an Inn called the Hidden Viper."
[Bardic Lore roll 11 to remember what he just heard]
Brahmah Thursday July 4th, 2002 1:05:36 AM
"Ummmmm..... I spent all my gold on stuff. What do WE need there, I'll get it. I need ALL your cash your willing to spend. I didn't realize I was going for everybody! Sorry!" The minoTaur smiles, then laughs.
"I'll go back to the Catacombs for everyone, but I need to hurry! I need a list!"
OOC:I've purchased all of my goods there, I'm done, so I'm free to buy what you all might need. :)
Ceira Thursday July 4th, 2002 2:25:15 AM
"Ahhh! It helps to know a few of us have been there already. Since you're graciously offering Brahmah, I'll take you up on it. Particularly since I have yet to venture there myself."
Ceira digs through her money pouch and looks back with a frown. "I hope 133 gp is enough to buy myself one of those icky worms. Half of me is hoping it's not enough but the other half knows that I should take it one way or another." she shakes her head vigorously. "There I go again with my doubts! I MUST take it!" She pauses and then lets out a sigh "From a financial standpoint, I had the three Tauric temples forward my tithe to Hearthold Keep for safekeeping. I'm not physically built for lugging around 6,000 gold pieces if you know what I mean. If I don't have enough money, then I hope you don't mind me mooch some coins off of someone."
Brahmah Thursday July 4th, 2002 3:06:06 AM
"Are we going to use those worms? Hmmm... I need to buy one for myself then. I've spent all my money. Unfortunately, I've heard that people are paying something like a 1000 gold per worm."
The minoTaur happily takes the 133 gold, thinking to himself that it's too bad she didn't keep the gold with her, I could carried for her...
"I'll see what I can do."
Leets Thursday July 4th, 2002 6:48:57 AM
"Oh! I still have the money our people gave us!"
"I had planned to buy some armor since battles are ahead, but if we become undeads, maybe I won't need it really..."
"Take it Brahmah, and spend whatever is needed to buy those slugs for everybody. I'll see for the armor later..."
Flat-top Thursday July 4th, 2002 7:06:22 AM
"I just gave Kenisha over 6,000GP and with Ceira's 6,000G, Now let's see?" Flat-top hooves the ground (as if he's adding). "That come to 12,000Gp, that should be more than enough to get 8 worms? and enough for Ceira's tithe." Flat-top winks at Ceira, "Remember! bring back the change!" Flat-top add, but on second though he might not survive this coming battle.
Kalon(ceil) Thursday July 4th, 2002 7:18:16 AM
Kalon wrinkles his nose (as much as a Weinic can wrinkle his nose?) as he listens to the money changes hands and the use of Flat-top adding hoof. "Kenisha my Love, if this is the only way, then I'm with you. I'll take one of those slimy slugs too. But if I get a rreaction to them and turrn rred with a rrash, IT will be yourr fault" Kalon tell Kenisha with a flic of his tail.
Zeoll the Lesser Thursday July 4th, 2002 7:19:38 AM
"Most of my 6,000 is in gems. Herre, good Brrahmah, take it. Go to the Back Entrrance of the Catacombs, and they'll sell you the nasty worrms."
Kenisha Thursday July 4th, 2002 7:45:24 AM
Kenihsa wiggles a finger at Kalon, "Now, now, Love. It was talk like that that got Rossco mad at us." she smiles and winks at him.
She then turns to the dwarf and nods her head in thanks to his offer. "It was very kind of Master Rossco and you to help us like this. As Zeoll the Lesser has stated, we need to go to the Tree of Parting once we have purchased souleaters."
Brahmah Thursday July 4th, 2002 8:20:08 AM
Brahmah is shocked by the influx of gold and gems.
"Um... okay, that should do it! Leets, I could pick up that armor, what do you want?! Magical? Basic? What?" He smiles wide at the paladin. "It looks like grubs all-'round huh?! I need to purchase one for meself too!"
He hefts up the gold and waits for the list of goods from everyone. "Just GRUBS!? That's IT?"
"I guess we're not 'gating' there?"
Kale Thursday July 4th, 2002 9:08:15 AM
"Grist, can you take us to the portal Rosco told us about? If you can, how long will it take?" Kale asks the dwarf. then he says to Flat-Top "I cant eat one of those things. If you all want to eat them go ahead and ill find a way to get to the portal and meet up with you all later."
Leets Thursday July 4th, 2002 1:21:40 PM
Leets warmly thanks his minotaur friend Brahmah, and answers:
"Take the armor only when you have enough slugs. What I need is a full plate, so, for a centaur it will probably be a full plate barding. Do quickly, and give up if they don't have something that looks like that, we have no time to lose..."
Brahmah Thursday July 4th, 2002 6:09:11 PM
"Oh, if you want armor, you'll get only the best my friend!!" The minoTaur laughs, but is quite serious, nothing but the BEST!
"Is there anything, items, toys, scrolls? potions? Anything else?" Asks the minoTaur.
Grist [DM Jerry] Friday July 5th, 2002 12:18:44 AM
Brahmah and I will fetch the grubs. There is a store here in town that has a Catacombs Branch office."
Turning to Kale, "Sir, the gateway that will turn you undead lies within the realm of fear called Koshe-Marr. I would not travel it alone nor have it on my heart to send someone there alone. If your whole group wishes to go that route, there is greater safety in numbers and I'll show you the way there, but as long as the others prefer the grub, I cannot show you that route."
He shrugs at Kale and then leaves with Brahmah.
"Wait here. We shall return."
[OOC: No need to go to the Catacombs Board folks.]
About 30 min. later, the two return with the grubs. It cost them nothing, courtesy of the Dragon Consortium.
"If we're to get to the Tree of Parting on time, we need to leave now. It's a 3-4 day trip and have just over 3 days to get there. You'll have to take the grubs enroute."
He shudders.
"That will be difficult. Any suggestions? We must be off within the hour. My wagon is ready to go in the stable with extra horses."
Kenisha Friday July 5th, 2002 1:00:36 AM
Kenisha thinks about it for a moment, "If one of us takes the grub at a time, the others can do what they can to help the one being changed keep up with us. Perhaps they could ride in the wagon? With only three days to get there, we won't be able to tarry at all."
"Lead on, Grist."
Flat-top Friday July 5th, 2002 2:10:54 AM
"The first one to take the grub, should be a Centaur. So I'll be the first, if you Minotaurs don't mind." Flat-top look around and takes a grub out of Brahmah hand, and then eats it. "It's not the best thing I ever ate, BUT OH!. . . ." Flat-top makes faces and goes down on knees (or what ever you call a horses knees).
Leets Friday July 5th, 2002 5:20:17 AM
Leets takes one grub, and considers it before putting it in his mouth. During a second, he thinks he should chew it for a while so that hedoesn't swallow it still alive, but then realizes that it will perhaps not work if the thing is dead in his stomach...
"Ugh..."
Leets soon falls on the ground like Flat-Top as the pain strikes his whole body, mind and soul. He holds his throat with both his hands, and lies in the dust for a couple of minutes...
Brahmah Friday July 5th, 2002 6:52:29 AM
"I'll be the last to take a grub. I, for one, want to see what they do. Second, I'm pretty sure I'm the strongest here and will be best to heft you all into the wagon. When I take my grub, I'll crawl into the wagon and ..... wait, I guess."
The minoTaur pats his cenTaur friend on the shoulder and helps him up. He whispers in Flat-tops ear; "I wish you would have waited 'ntil later."
At any rate, Brahmah thinks to himself about what the effects of the grub may be. The words; 'Painful. Very Painful.', ring in his memory loudly. Life is a gift! Not to be taken, OR given lightly! For the Wold, though, he throws that philosophy out. The Wold, his friends, his family, himself, in THAT order!
Kale Friday July 5th, 2002 8:42:45 AM
realizing he really has no choice, Kale walks over to the bar and has all his wineskins filled with ale. "If im going to eat one of those things Im going to have to be good and drunk to do it." Kale says as he helps Brahmah lift Flat-Top into the wagon.
Zeoll the Lesser d20+4=5 Friday July 5th, 2002 10:00:07 AM
Zeoll tries to remember anything from legend that might help prepare folks for the transition, but he comes up empty (Bardic Lore roll 5!).
The Chosen might notice that the liontaur's accent is more pronounced than usual. "In the spirrit of learrning, and so that I can betterrr compose an epic historrry -- assuming therrre is anyone to sing to afterrr we arre done -- I too will wait forrr a moment to watch beforrre taking this deadly and herroic step."
Zeoll the Lesser's tail whips fiercely back and forth as he says this, and evidently he thinks the best vantage point is about 40 feet away.
Ceira Friday July 5th, 2002 10:51:24 AM
"Grist, just what kind of an undead to we become? If I become a zombie, then the decay of rotten fingers or stiffened limbs would not be capable of replicating the proper semantic gestures of certain spells." Ceira shudders at the thought. "If I become incorporeal, then I hope I can still pick up my material components. Maybe if I become a vampire, then spellcasting would be a breeze but then we'd be in fear of the sunlight. Oh dear... Give me two days of travel time to consider all the reprecussions and then it'll be my turn to take it."
Ceira turns to Flat-top and Leets to see how they are doing. "Perhaps forcing us to sleep with a spell would help with the pain?" she comments. "I wish I could try but, I don't have such a spell."
The Journey [DM Jerry] Friday July 5th, 2002 7:57:15 PM
As Flat-top and Leets take the grubs, two things happen: first as the grub passes in to their throats, they feel it extend its legs and sink its claws into the lining of their throats and come to a stop.
Almost at the same time they feel and taste some thing really acrid and bitter coat the base of the tongue and throat as it oozes downward.
Bare moments later neither of them have any feeling on their tongues and throats. They feels the numbness spread along the esophogus.
Then Flat-Top and Leets realize that they can no longer breathe very well and are starting to choke. As the numbness spreads they feels the grub start inching its way down their throat one claw at a time.
The pain is excruciating!
---------
The wagon is amazing. 20' long and drawn by 4 warhorses.
Grist says, "Well you guys are big and I didn't want a broken wagon if you chose the grub option."
Soon Flat-top and Leets are laying in the wagon and the group takes off with Grist driving the horses.
"You may want to strap them down. If they start to flail about, it could turn even this wagon over."
[Please state in your post whether you're running alongside or riding on the wagon.]
Kenisha Friday July 5th, 2002 9:03:20 PM
Kenisha sighs and shakes her head. "I meant that we should wait until the first Taur had finished changing before the next one eat the grub... Oh well."
After helping tie the two of them down to the wagon, Kenisha will trot beside the wagon next to Kalon.
She whispers quietly to him, "I know not what this grub will do to our child, but for the sake of the Wold and all future generations of Taurs, I have to go through with this. What good is it after all to protect the child merely to loose it to the End of the Wold if Marteaus wins? But no matter what happens, Kalon, know that I will love you to the ends of Time."
Kalon(Ceil) Saturday July 6th, 2002 2:09:29 AM
Kalon watches as Flat-top and Leets take the grub and go through all that pain. It was Kenisha voice that brought him back to life of the present. Kalon keep up with her gate beside her, "I know what you mean, but I'll back any decision you make. Dead or Alive, I'll all ways love you." Kalon wonders and he travels along side of Kenisha, *I wonder what the kitten would look like Me or Kenisha?*
Brahmah Saturday July 6th, 2002 5:17:08 AM
Brahmah wanders alongside the wagon keeping up with it. He looks at his two friends in the wagon and thinks to himself; "I wonder what their thinking now? Can they think for themselves? I will be the last to eat this dreaded grub thing, but I will!
The huge minoTaur reaches into a large sack and pulls out a bundle, with a 'klang'. Unwrapping the bundle there are two gauntlets, which he puts on immediately with a gigantic grin. The other part of the bundle are his two Falchions, which he fastens to his belt. If his smile could get bigger, it does.
Flat-top Sunday July 7th, 2002 11:43:38 AM
Well, when Flat-top elected to be first, He knew if he didn't eat that grub right then and there, he would probably lose his courage. So he pick a Sole Eater from Brahmah's hand and pop it into his mouth. "OH! By the gods beard, that tasted awful." Flat-top make an yuckie face, *almost like taking cod liver oil when Mom would give me, when I was a colt.* Flat-top swallows the rotten grub, and as the thing passes in his throat. IT stops? Flat-top cough once or twice and wonders if it will be stuck there in his trough? But almost at the same time taste something very bitter and very bitter. He feels the bug extends his legs, one by one. And sink its claws into the lining of his through. and something oozes down his throat. Flat-top drops to one knee and cough several times. Trying to get it out of there. Flat-top grab his throat, he start to feel numbness and it is spreading. He realize that he cannot breathe very well, he also starting to choke. As the numbness spreads he feels the Sole Eater start it's way down his throat one claw at a time. Now Flat-top face contorts into a silent scream. Flat-top is in Pain, more pain than he has ever experience before.
Leets Sunday July 7th, 2002 11:59:22 AM
The young centaur paladin knew there would be something like not being able of breathing anymore, but living the event is more difficult than to think of it.
Trying to gather his thoughts and using all his willpower not to panic, he tries not to cough to keep the thing in his throat. If he must die, he will do it honorably ( and in the wagon ).
Zeoll the Lesser d20+2=6 Sunday July 7th, 2002 10:04:57 PM
Zeoll watches and waits for his turn, He tries to be alert for any surprise attack. (Spot 6)
Ceira Monday July 8th, 2002 1:57:13 AM
Ceira grimaces at the sight of the wracking pain of Leets and Flat-top. She wishes she could help but all she can do is watch to see what the effects are. She sits between them in the wagon and tries to ease their pain by stroking their manes. "It'll be okay. Your reaction reminds me of the old medicinal concoctions my mother used to make. They are as nasty as can be but I've learned to try and swallow it as fast as possible to minimize the pain... unless it's still painful while in your stomach. Then all I can do is to rub your tummies."
Kale Monday July 8th, 2002 8:48:30 AM
pulling his hood over his head, Kale does is best not to listen and see what is happening to his friends. as he waits a young man brings him a package which Kale opens. inside is a set of leather armour, a pair of gloves, a longsword and a shortbow, all of which Kale puts on
Dying to be on the road [DM Jerry] Tuesday July 9th, 2002 1:41:02 AM
The grub slowly spreads through the bodies of the two brave Taurs and eventually and slowly they begin to die. No one knows exactly when it happens, but soon it is evident that they no longer breathe.
After a short time that seems longer than it truly is, the eyes of Flat-top open. He sits up. Then Leets.
They look like loose skin stretched over bones. Their breath stinks.
They retain their memories, personalities, and alignment -- They are not evil acting.
Their blood does not flow nor their heart beat. They do not have hormones or any of the usual physiology. Emotionally, they have no adrenaline, no great swings of mood or emotion. Their greatest loves are now more like affection. Their deepest hates are mere distaste. They are calm, mostly. They still have intense feelings, but they are mental, not from the heart.
Their hair, skin, and eyes are white. They move when you want to, but otherwise they are very still -- no fidgeting, no idle movements. They are not hungry or thirsty or sleepy. They LOOK undead -- it would take a disguise check to pass as living.
They are a free-willed being. They can do anything they want to. They can talk, cast spells, and communicate fully.
-----
On the second day you pass around the west side of the Plateaus to Edenmoor. The sky is dark as a storm approaches. The towns you pass through are empty. You run into a group of adventurers taking the last remaining people from Edenmoor to a gateway leading to "somewhere else." They say, "It's off somewhere else. Some think it's a realm made by Marteaus, to keep his faithful safe, but anywhere is better than here. The edges of the Wold are falling off and it's circumference is smaller every day. In a few days days it will reach the plateaus and that will be all that is left. A huge circular plateau floating in the abyss like a huge tiered funeral cake."
They looks at Flat-Top and Leets and say, "So you decided to do it huh? Seems foolishness to me. Some false hope at the end. Better just to get off planet and survive."
They move on, listening to your parting words and perhaps feeling a bit guilty for their cowardice.
[OOC: Folks I will post tomorrow night as normal and then about noon on Wed. Note those times. On Wed, we will end our play on this board and join the other games also going to the Tree of Parting on the Catacombs Board. When I shut this board down on Wed. noon, I"ll finish up any business we have even it if means doing a few things for you.
After I close this board, there will be no posting here until Monday the 22nd when I'll post that it's open again. That week, we will post OOC for a week to talk about the changes, and any changes you want to and have to make to your characters. We'll also talk about what we want to do next....then. On the 22nd. Not now. Not until then. :)
Send me an email if you have a question about this stuff. I'll delete all this after the YOA.
Again, keep in mind that we have 1 or 2 posts left total when you post. If you're going undead, better take that grub. ;) You can state which day you take it if you wish.]
Zeoll the Lesser Tuesday July 9th, 2002 12:07:41 PM
The wemic looks at Sly and Leets with a mix of fascination and disgust. "Hah! I'll go next!" he declares, and then climbs into the wagon and swallows a grub.
Flat-top(undead) Tuesday July 9th, 2002 2:35:23 PM
Flat-top look around and gets out of the Wagon. "I'll follow every body . . . Ready To travel?" Flat-top trots behind the wagon. "When every body is ready. I'll help. . . And do my best to ease the pain."
Kalon(Ceil) Tuesday July 9th, 2002 2:37:46 PM
With tears in his eyes, Kalon tells Kenisha " It's Time."
Kalon(Ceil) Tuesday July 9th, 2002 2:39:36 PM
As Kalon put a Slug in to his mouth and swallow.
Leets Tuesday July 9th, 2002 2:44:10 PM
The undead centaur paladin put his hands on his wrinkled face and then looks at his palms. It looks like he died with an infinite sadness on his face, and that this will remain forever now. With no special tone in his voice, he then says:
"I hope it was worth the experience...Now we can do this last journey and fight Marteaus..."
"Wow Flat-Top, I wish I'm not as horrible as you!"
Ceira Tuesday July 9th, 2002 6:47:03 PM
Everytime Ceira gets close to Leets or Flat-top, the stench brings her to the point of vomitting. Seeing her friends turn undead isn't as easy as deciding to take those slugs. This puts a dent into her bravery but watching the helpless people run away, she shakes off her fear once again and watches as Kalon and Zeoll the Lesser become the first wemics to swallow the slug.
(OOC: Ceira will consume it soon after Zeoll and Kalon dies...... What a morbid thing to say. ^_^)
Kenisha Tuesday July 9th, 2002 7:21:36 PM
Her eyes briming with tears, Kenisha nods and gives Kalon one last kiss before he takes the slug. She helps him up into the wagon and continues to follow beside it. "When there is still hope, there is still life." She tells him softly.
Kenisha smiles faintly at Ceira, Shall we join the ranks of the undead together after Zeoll and Kalon are... done?"
Kale Tuesday July 9th, 2002 7:35:10 PM
Kale waits until the last possible day to comsume his slug, though he drinks all the ale he bought before he does it.
The Hidden Viper Inn [DM Jerry] Tuesday July 9th, 2002 11:49:50 PM
The group continues their journey north around the west side of the Plateaus to the Tree of Parting. Reaching Edenmoor, you turn left down the West Trade Road and the next day the Tree of Parting is in sight.
Brahmah, the last to take the grub, is in his final throws of death. The rest of you are already husks.
Reaching the town, Brahmah, strapped on the wagon, expires. You ask where the Hidden Viper is and people point to it while holding their noses with their other hand. Most of the town is deserted.
Not finding the Inn, you are surpised when Brahmah sits up and says, "There it is."
Grist says, "Any last words before you go inside? Get it? Last words? Sorry."
Grist lets you off and drives off still laughing at his terrible joke.
[OOC, again remember you may post here until noon board time. Any posts after that will be deleted. I'll close this board at 12PM sharp.
After that you may post again on the Catacombs board. That board begins in the inn, so any posts made here occur before going inside. MDM Kent will be the DM on the Catacomb Board.
Good luck! ]
Brahmah Wednesday July 10th, 2002 1:00:14 AM
OOC: My Internet service has been down, I'm posting from a friends computer. I hope to have service back up by this time Wednesday.
Not really realizing he's dead, (subconciously he knows it) he yawns, but doesn't say much. Looking at his reflection in his Falchion, he grimaces. "Boy, I look like I need a good meal and warm bed!" The dead'oTaur tries to laugh, but his facial skin cracks in the process. "That should'a hurt! I was going to say, 'It looks like I caught my DEATH!' " He smiles, well, tries anyway.
Flat-top (undead) Wednesday July 10th, 2002 4:05:32 AM
Flat-top looks at Leets and tries to smile, but cannot. "And you look like a ghost." Flat-tops gazes towards, "And you Brahmah. . . Look beautiful." (ooc: if Flat-top could smile, this is where he would have.)
Leets Wednesday July 10th, 2002 6:17:55 AM
Leets considers his friends who have also taken the slugs. Curiously, he discovers that he doesn't care as much as he used to do. Always with a feeling less voice, he tells them:
"Oh stand up! It's only a bad moment to have, once it's finished it's not that painful...It's just disgusting..."
He finally considers the inn as Grist leaves with the wagon.
