Hi everybody, and welcome back.
This week is for talking and changing. More on changing in a sec. But I want to encourage everybody to post their thoughts and comments on the new Wold stuff. Even if you are not personally using something, your thoughts might inspire others.
Here are some notes on changes:
Clerics will be able to select a new god if their old one is not existing anymore or if it has changed to the point that they are not interested in it anymore.
Along with that, they can add a PrC of their god if they want.
In general, you can use this time to shuffle skills and feats, but not classes and races. If you have a particular request, please post or e-mail me (cayzle@yahoo.com). Jerry says he'll consider petitions that are forwarded through me.
To get things going, what is your favorite part of the recent changes? What do you hate?
Here's mine: Favorite -- the monstrologer. I love the idea of the fantasy mad scientist. And I love the Circle of the Silver Beech. Least Favorite: These new prestige classes are just too darn powerful! :-)

Drifting in on the mists of the New Wold up ahead, the urgent bell of the Town Crier is heard pealing in the streets. Lundy the Boomer brings news.
"Hear ye, hear ye!
A frantic search has begun for the Floating City - which is currently nowhere to be found! Did the City and its inhabitants drown beneath the lake? Was it destroyed in the cataclysm? Did the mysterious Teucri rescue their creation and take it with them? No one knows! So far, there have been no survivors from the lake, and dives are taking place in an attempt to establish if the Big Float should now be renamed the Big Sink!
Reports from far and wide indicate widespread destruction and damage to buildings and structures all over the Wold! Miraculously - most people appear to have been left unharmed, and are beginning the enormous task of rebuilding what was damaged or lost!
Clerics all over the Wold are proclaiming the existance of new Gods! These Gods have been named the Gods of Testing! They are- Marteaus, the God of Disease Ga'al, the God of Domination Caeroldra, the Goddess of Lust and Passion Jancassis, the God of Revenge Warrd, the God of Luck, and Chance Gargul, the God of Life, Death, and Souls!
Temples and other places of worship are changing hands, being rebuilt, or being created to worship these new deities! It appears that two major pantheons how exist - the Gods of Testing, alongside that of Alemi, Domi, Flower, Pantheon, and Ffloy - the already established Gods of the Wold. Some say the God Gargul either belongs to both, or that he transcends them all! Everything appears to be in a state of flux! There have been reports of new Sects being formed, and of strange abilities manifesting amongst the populace! Are these abilities a gift from the Gods? An appeasement for the Godwar, as some say? Or are they a curse, and something to be feared?
In Plateau City, some members of the high council have allegedly gone into hiding! Those who remain have released a statement, proclaiming they were misled, charmed into actions against their own natural will, and remember little of past events. They say they are drawing up an amnesty proposal for certain groups and organisations who are currently banned from the City as outlaws and renegades! Sturtavent will be reinstated, and the council is at a loss as to explain why he was originally removed from office in the first place! A persistant rumour - that he merely had the wrong haircut, is just that - a rumour. In truth no one seems to know!
Elsewhere, news has arrived of a new eastern pass through the treacherous Scab, created by the upheavals and earthquakes of the Godwar! Adventurers are said to be already flocking toward the area, in search of new lands, new riches, enlightenment and knowledge!
Hear ye, gentlefolk! Take note of the bell - for there will be more!

Well, I missed the End Game. For the first time I got overwhelmed in life and felt burnt out. And I'm quite confused about all of this change, but I'm back and ready to roll. I'll have it figured out by Monday I hope. (Next Monday.) Personally, I wouldn't mind heading north to the Northern continent in search of my family that was in New Elenna. Thomas has wondered about how they faired in the cataclysm. I know that's awefully selfish, so I'd be game to do just about anything. I'd settle for spreading the new word of Alemi . . . once I figure out what the word is.

As you may have noticed, I've kind of been absent. Partially due to my vacation and partially due to computer problems. I still can't post on the boards, because of a problem with Javascript, I believe. So can I run my posts through you, or should I just e-mail the entire group?

Anyway, to talk about the game.

I've been reading through the gods and the new changes, and generally like them. I love the background information on the gods, it helps give more character to the Wold. I also love the Fixer prestige class.
The Justicar is interesting, but I don't know if I would personally take it. I also like the Oathbound, just because it creates a group that the character has access to.
Any of Gargul's prestige classes are amazingly cool. Ever since I started reading the Wold, Gargul was the bestest god ever :).
My favorite prestige class is the Venturer. In fact, I've been thinking about trying to change Jurgen around a bit so that he could take it. Although it would create a lot of work for Cayzle, so it may not even be plausible. I still want Jurgen to become a Dragon Disciple, but I don't know if Jurgen is working out the way I planned. He's coming off as annoying, instead of the carefree kid who's lacking in common sense, intuition and perception...
I don't know. He just doesn't seem to be working out, and he may just be messing up the party.
Can I get any feedback, from the group? Is this all in my head, or what?
Anyway, about what to do now...
Well, Jurgen too has a selfish goal. He wants to find Josephine, and his birth mother. Even though he knows so little about her. Mostly, he wants to learn more about the Wold. He wants to help fix it, he wants to be a part of it, as apposed to just another somebody. Treasure, sure it's good. But fame is better then fortune. :-)
He also wants to be a god, but that just ain't gunna happen.
That's about it...

Well, I personally think this is a perfect time to change your character -- not Jeff in particular, but anybody! You can't go too crazy -- classes and races stay the same. But you can certainly shuffle feats and skills around. And, it seems to me, revise your vision for your PC if you like, at least to a degree.
After all, you just suffered through death and undeath and the End of the Wold! That would change ANYBODY!
(Wade, I sent you e-mail with everybody else, but it bounced back. Basically I just asked everybody to post their ideas for Post-YOA gaming. But has your e-mail address changed?)

Ceil, all the Southern Lights still have their Entropy Tattoo. What you want to do with it is your choice. You can seek out evildoers and be protectors of the weak and oppressed. Or you can take a vacation from good and evil in order to go on a dungeon crawl and look for treasure. Or anything else you would like.
The important thing is YOU get to pick. The DM does NOT know what's going to happen -- the PLAYERS do! :-)

Ted, that sounds fine to me. What feats did you plan on changing? Go on over to the Catacombs to buy whatever you need.

Are most of the buildings in Abandon, abandoned? Or are any in rough shape, but not so much that they couldn't be fixed up?

I was planning to start the game off at the Five Crone Stone Circle outside Heranmar, but we could also start in Threshhold or Abandon if the group prefers. Both of those towns now lie outside the Void, so you could start there.
Abandon itself was in the Void for a long time. No doubt it was somewhat depopulated. There may be some abandoned buildings, I suppose, but not a great many. I think that many Abandonites are hard at work rebuilding ALL the different Temples around Temple Square.
The town was called "Abandon" because it was founded (so goes one legend) by a group of orphans abandoned by slave traders when they ran out of food in that spot. But that might just be an old wives' tale.

I'd be game for a treasure hunt. It would be better though if it was a result of us looking into and probing what abilities the Entropy Bell bestowed upon us. We got a huge clue near the end of the YOA and we didn't really have time to look into it. I think we should spend some time figuring out what powers we gained as a result of being the children of Chaos. Maybe none, but maybe some good ones. That could lead to treasure for sure!
On another note, what link do I follow to read the YOA End Game. I wasn't able to play, but I'm not following some of the talk since I didn't play or read it yet. Is it long?
When is the deadline to have new Character sheets in by? Are we the same level? Did we get XP values for all that we did before the End game? Hero points? Just curious.

I last gave out xp on June 26 or thereabouts. I wasn;t planning to give out any more since there was only about two weeks of play after that to the Endgame.
Did any characters from the Southern Lights actually play in Texas or online? I think Ceil and Aleyna played other characters. Wade? Ted? If so, you have already gotten your xp for the chat or for the Con itself.

They are long and in rough shape -- I hope to clean them up soon.
Exploring the Entropy Bell and Children of Chaos thread is also a good idea. Anyone else interested in that?

Cazyle, thing about changing the weapon focus on my short sword to somthing else since I will only use one sword from now on.
I think to follow Sir Thomas idea would be the best and most logical decison to make.
Cazyle, I did play the wold con but didnt get to play the Saturday game. I havent been given any xp for the games played or gold or items yet. can I go into the catacombs on credit? Also, Trace is still at level 6 (due to my absence) but there was a discussion on xp gained at the wold con and I would like to get back to even with Sly fox since he started the same time or later than trace.

What about Void and Bear, and the slave trade? Did that tie into the endgame at all? If not, that is a big task that we left hanging a few months ago. I would like to pick up that thread, if we can.

Yes, I sent the sheets to Kent before the YOA ended, but Ilsidur has a fairly big change, in that his god is no more. That means I need a new sheet.
Wade's is fine except I want him to sign off on it, but I haven't heard from him in a long time.
Jeff is going to be out for two weeks. Would anybody care to substitute? The person who does will get an xp bonus. Yes, it's bribery. Anyone have a problem with that!?! :-)

While we're still not playing, I wanted to let everyone know that starting on Saturday I will be on a week and a half of vacation.
I know I will be able to post some days (because I'm going home), but I know there will be days that I won't be able to post. So, if you guys feel it best to substitue me then that's fine. If you can accept a week and a half of hit-and-miss posts then I'm in for posting.
I'll let you guys decide which is best for the group.
