Ready, Set, Go! (DM Janell) Tuesday October 15th, 2002 11:36:51 AM
Ybirard stares up at Flat-top in awe as he hands him the morningstar. "I will guard it with my life until you return. Play well and restore our honor." Rhirehan grins at the exchange, and then turns to the Chosen. "Come, we should rest. We will need our strength for the Tournament." He bids you a good night, and turns in with Rhasa.
As Kale tries to sneak out, one of the escorts follows him on the way to the field. Before he gets to the field, the guard turns Kale back. "It is not right to see the field before the Tournament. Do not worry, Geaseth will not see it either."
The night passes uneventfully, and you awake feeling refreshed and relaxed. Sheras pounces up and down in the kitchen as Rhasa cooks breakfast. "Oh, wowsy, a Spikeball Tournament...I can't wait! Oooo, I'm gonna sit up in front, and root for Mr. Flat-top, no wait, maybe Mr. Zeoll. No, I'll root for you all!" Rhasa smiles and kisses Rhirehan "Play well, husband. We will cheer for you."
Shortly after your meal, your escorts lead you a small tent set up just outside the field. There, you are given robes to wear during the Tournament. Fighters are given purple robes, and spellcasters are given red robes. You are inspected for any contraband items (yes, spell components are allowed), and Zeoll asks about his goodberries. The guards regretfully inform him that they are not allowed in the Tournament. They also notify the party that no spells are to be cast before the Tournament begins. Meanwhile, Kenisha is ushered to the judges booth, where she is placed in the seat of honor.
There is a short wait, and then the party is escorted onto the field. The sight is quite breathtaking. The huge green field practically glows in the early morning light. And the roar of the crowd is stunning as you enter the playing field, and the two teams are lined up on opposite ends of the field. The graying elder from the previous meeting enters the field. "We are gathered here to determine Domi's will. May Domi bless the innocent. The tournament will begin at the sound of the horn." The elder leaves the field, and a young wemic in the judge's booth sounds the horn.
Good luck! Map's in the mail.---Janell
Zeoll the Lesser Tuesday October 15th, 2002 1:37:01 PM
Zeoll immediately acts, hoping to catch everybody off guard. Calling on Domi's bravery and the power of nature casts his Entangle spell. He centers it right in the moat, on the far side. With any luck, plants start to writhe and grasp all within 40 feet of the point. That's an 80-foot diameter.
It is Zeoll's intention, in this way, to Entangle both the other team AND the opposing goal, but NOT the spikeballs.
[Out of Character: as I calculate it, centered on point B-C-19-20, with a "40-ft.-radius spread," the Entangles area should include 12A THRU D; 13A THRU F; 14A THRU G; 15A THRU H; 16A THRU I; 17A THRU I; 18A THRU J; 19A THRU J; 20A THRU J; 21A THRU J
Note the effect:
"Grasses, weeds, bushes, and even trees wrap, twist, and entwine about creatures in the area or those who enter the area, holding them fast. An entangled creature suffers a --2 penalty to attack rolls, suffers a --4 penalty to effective Dexterity, and can't move. An entangled character who attempts to cast a spell must make a Concentration check (DC 15) or lose the spell. She can break free and move half her normal speed by using a full-round action to make a Strength check or an Escape Artist check (DC 20). A creature who succeeds at a Reflex saving throw is not entangled but can still move at only half speed through the area. Each round, the plants once again attempt to entangle all creatures who have avoided or escaped entanglement."
The spell, cast by Zeoll, lasts 1 minute (10 rounds). The reflex save DC for Zeoll's spell is a 13.
End Out of Character]
After casting his spell, Zeoll moves carefully from 8P to 12L in a straight line. As he walks, he looks at the huge mass of writhing plants he has transformed. He has only one word to say.
"Wowsy!"
Leets Tuesday October 15th, 2002 4:07:56 PM
"May Domi bring the light of truth on this field, and courage in our hearts!"
"Let's go my friend, it's high time to show who's wrong and who's right!"
OOC: Leets cast Bless on the team. This is not my complete post, and if you agree Janell I will add more later. I just don't want the game to begin without Domi's blessing :)
You have my blessing to do the blessing. ;)---Janell
Flat-top Tuesday October 15th, 2002 4:43:34 PM
Flat-top arrives at the arena and takes off all his clothing, to show that he is not wearing anything illegal. Then he put on the purple robe. And bows his head for the blessing. Out on to the field they go, Flat-top follows Captain Brahmah, "I don't know but I feel better to day. You lead Captain and I'll follow."
ooc: Since Flat-top is not on the map, I cannot tell where he is or where he is going, but he will be following Brahmah if that makes it easy for you.
Whopsee...Sorry Ceil, consider him in P10. Feel free to repost.---Janell
Brahmah, on Offense Tuesday October 15th, 2002 7:44:25 PM
OOC note:I noticed that the other team has only 5 players and Geaseth, and ours has 6 players plus Brahmah, oh well. :D Whispering to the spellcaster, "Ceira, find the nets, tie it in front of our goal so that they can't score. Use the poles and rope if you must. Do it soon!" Brahmah grins impishly. Thinking to himself, 'Gosh, I hope none of the Chosens wemics are afraid of water!' He grimaces. Brahmah, nods his head to Flat-top's words, saying, "Remember, your defense. Follow me my friend!" The dark haired minoTaur charges (running 60 feet) into the field diagnally coming to a stop on *I-11* to just in front of the Spikeballs, just as the possessed field comes alive with roots and vines. 'Wowsy is right.' The warrior thinks to himself. It slips from his mind that there might be traps or pits between here and there. Then a horrifying thought hits the great warriors head, like a bolt of lightning. 'Wait, don't we have to score in that goal?!'
OOC: Think tactically friends. :)
Ceira Wednesday October 16th, 2002 12:22:30 AM
"Ugh..." Ceira cringes at Brahmah's comment. "I... I... don't think I can do that. Recall my glorious ride on ships? I don't mix well with water. I can't really explain why. I just... can't. Sorry. I'll still take the net and have my Unseen Servant do it."
Ceira casts her first Unseen Servant next to Brahmah on P3.
(OOC: Is the net big enough? Will it cost me a turn to give a command?)
Flat-top Wednesday October 16th, 2002 1:41:38 AM
Flat-top give the 'got it sign'and galops to be almost beside Brahmah (K 12). Thinking to him self *Wowzy! how are we supose to get a goal in there, we realy need you now Domi?*
Kenisha Wednesday October 16th, 2002 1:46:22 AM
Kenisha sits in the booth and watches anguishly as the game begins. She chants softly, "Go, Chosen, go."
Leets, definitively on offense (and blessed) Wednesday October 16th, 2002 4:42:02 AM
"Here we go!"
Using his (unarmored) centaur speed, Leets moves to P12, glancing at the opponents. He grabs the first things he finds on the weapon rack, and then comes to L12, ready for some traps on his way...
Kale Wednesday October 16th, 2002 9:10:09 AM
as soon as he hears the whistle, Kale runs to the weapons rack and picks up the nearest weapon. then he moves as far as he can to the spikeballs, wondering how he's going to score through all the wiggling grass
Off to a Good Start (DM Janell) d20+7=22 d20+4=17 d20+4=14 d20+3=17 d20+8=23 d20+4=9 d4=4 d8=5 d20+5=21 d20+4=6 d6=6 Thursday October 17th, 2002 12:26:12 AM
As the Tournament begins, Leets calls for Domi's protection and guidance on the Chosen. You feel warmth flood your body as Domi blesses you. Meanwhile, Zeoll decides to tip the favors in the Chosen's odds by doing a preemptive strike. At the last minute he realizes his impending error of blocking the goal that the Chosen need to score in, and redirects the entangle spell. The grass around the opposing team begins to grow and tries to wrap itself around the opposing team members.
Brahmah sprints for the spikeball, and makes it about ¾ of the way there when his fears are confirmed. A knot forms in his stomach as he realizes that there is no ground underneath his hoofs. He falls 10 feet (Failed tumble check with 6...takes 6 pts damage) and lands with a loud "Ooof" on the ground. Looking around, he discovers that the pit he has fallen into is circular and just barely large enough to turn around in (roughly 10 foot in diameter), and has rough walls (lots of hand holds). As he gazes up, Brahmah sees Flat-top staring down at him. He estimates that if he is lucky, he can probably jump high enough to grab a foot hold and pull himself out of the pit (Roll a jump check, please).
Flat-top sprints along with Brahmah, when he suddenly disappears. It's almost as if the ground swallowed him up. Flat-top stares at the last place he saw the mighty minotaur, but only sees nice green grass!
In the meantime, Ceira calls up an unseen servant. It positions itself 35 feet from her and awaits a further command.
Kale and Leets sprint for the weapons rack. Kale grabs a spiked chain, and Leets snags a 50 foot length of rope. The two Chosen sprint toward the spikeballs, and Leets (sorry, Zeoll was already in L12) hears something grunting and moving under the grass to his right (ie the fallen, but not visible Brahmah). Due to his slower move rate (30 feet), Kale is barely able to reach the weapons rack this round. The following items are on EACH rack: 1 longsword, 1 Greatsword, 1 Greataxe, 1 Spiked chain, 2 50 foot lengths of rope, 2 20 foot wooden poles, 4 tangle foot bags, and 2 nets.
Rhirehan spots Brahmah's fall into the pit, and decides to avoid the area altogether. He sprints for the spikeballs, hoping to take advantage of the Chosen's early start. He is able to reach the closest spikeball, and bends down to pick it up.
Back in the stands, Sheras' little head pokes around the corner of the judges' booth, and she too takes up Kenisha's chant of "Go, Chosen, Go." Rhasa joins in too, and soon, as small chorus is heard urging the brave Taurs on to victory.
Meanwhile, your opponents don't seem very thrilled as they struggle against the grass at their feet. Luck seems to be on their side though, as only Liontaur #7 (quite possibly one of the largest wemics you've ever seen!) becomes entangled. The fighter hurls obscenities at the grass that entwines around his massive legs as he begins to rip himself out of the entangling vegetation (made Strength check :( ). Geaseth shuffles toward the spikeballs, and manages to make it to the edge of the entangled area when suddenly he disappears from view! Two of the new liontaurs (#5 &6) as well as the tattooed freak (Wo) and Liontaur #2 manage to slog their way free of the vegetation. The slim form of Liontaur #6 bolts toward a spikeball (double move), and you get a good look at his closely shaved head as he too bends down to pick it up. In the interim, Liontaur #5 casts a spell. Liontaur #2 and the freak hustle over to the weapons rack.
Brahmah, very upset Taur d20+5=23 Thursday October 17th, 2002 2:10:43 AM
Hurling his own obsenities at the walls of the hole, mixing the slurs in common and Tauric.
Clearing his head, he braces his back against walls of the hole, and his hooves on the other side and crawls inching slowly up (making a climb check 23). As he makes it to the top, he looks around to reassess his position. He gesters in the direction of the rack to Kale and Ceira.
Brahmah looks at the hole, then at the rack, and turns, bolting for the poles on his teams rack. "Kale, give me the poles Friend!" Running for the rack, passing Zeoll, he points at the Chosens goal. "Zeoll, Entangle ours!!"
Ceira Thursday October 17th, 2002 2:45:43 AM
Ceira takes one step to her right to P8 and commands Unseen Servant #1 to move south to M3. She then proceeds to summon Unseen Servant #2 on P12 and will command it to pick up the nearest net and to toss it to her feet on P9.
Flat-top Thursday October 17th, 2002 3:14:50 AM
Flat-top races along with Brahmah, when all of a sudden Brahmah disappears from view. "I knew it, I knew it. Traps." Flat-top gets down on his front knees (His hind end is up in the air) and feeling the ground with his hand, going towards the beautiful sounds of Brahmah bellowing. Flat-top find the pit and the human half of him disappears into the grass. Flattop sees that Brahmah is almost to the top of Flat-topthe pit and give the Captain a hand up. "Thanks to the your choice of words, Captain. That was how I was able to find you, Now how do we mark the pit. Long poles?"
Tsk, tsk...remember the rules...if you fall in, you gotta get out on your own...wouldn't want the Chosen to lose due to dishonorable actions ;)---Janell
Kale Thursday October 17th, 2002 4:36:52 AM
moving back to the rack, Kale grabs a pole and tosses it to Braham. then he motions that he's going towards the goal and then runs down the sideline towards the goal
Zeoll the Lesser Thursday October 17th, 2002 7:51:17 AM
[OOC: Thanks, Janell, for fixing my Entangle so I didn't get the wrong goal!]
Zeoll takes a five-foot step back to M12 so that he is out of Flat-top's way. Then he casts his second entangle on the correct goal, the one into which the enemy wants to place the balls! If he can, he'll also entangle all or maybe part of the other side's weapons rack too. (Janell, I'll leave that for you to decide, unless you want me to do it like last time?)
Then he moves from M12 to M8 and then to L7, staying out of the Entangle.
Ummm...there is no Liontaur F1, Flat-top is next to you. No need to make that 5 foot step...you may move to a different position on the map if you wish. Yes, Cayzle, please email it back to me...that way there's no confusion about where you wanted it placed ;)---Janell
[OOC: Sorry! I thought Flat-top was the enemy! I fixed it above! I'll still end up in square L7. -- Cayzle]
[Oh, and here is the list of squares hit with the second Entangle: 1A-K; 2A-K, 3A-K, 4A-K, 5A-K, 6A-K, 7A-J, 8A-J, 9A-I, 10A-H, 11A-F]
Turn About's Fair Play (DM Janell) d20=16 d6=6 d20+7=21 Thursday October 17th, 2002 2:19:22 PM
Flat-top decides to give his Captain a hand, but remembers it is against the rules, and lets Brahmah do it on his own. In record time, Brahmah climbs out of the pit and is back in the game again. Ceira summons another unseen servant, and a net floats from the rack and lands at her feet. Remember, an unseen servant can only move 15 ft a round, so Unseen servant #1 is now at P6. Also, the unseen servant will keep doing a task over and over until you command it otherwise.
Kale chucks a 20 foot pole over to Brahmah and then moves to defend the Chosen's goal. He makes it most of the way there when he hears the familiar sound of Zeoll casting a spell. The grass around the Chosen's goal begins to wriggle.
Rhirehan grabs the spikeball in front of him, and the sharp needles that surround the ball bite the skin on his hands. Ignoring the pain, he runs toward the opponent's goal, and is about to throw the spikeball, when he too disappears from sight (along with the spikeball he's holding)!
Liontaur #5 smiles faintly, and then casts a spell. He begins to speak in a very strange sounding language. The grass that was attempting to entangle the freak and Liontaurs #2 and #6 uncurls from their legs, allowing them free motion once again. The freak and Liontaur #2 nod their thanks to the spellcaster, grab weapons from the rack, and then take up defensive positions in front of the last remaining spikeball.
Liontaur #7 tears himself free from the grass that entangled him, and makes for the Chosen's unentangled weapons rack.
The lean looking, bald headed wemic (Liontaur #6) sprints for the Chosen's goal, and promptly disappears from sight, along with the spikeball he was carrying.
Geaseth climbs out of the pit like a spider, and moves toward the last remaining spikeball. He bends over to pick it up.
Brahmah d20+3=10 d20+5=22 Friday October 18th, 2002 1:17:11 AM
Brahmah picks up the pole at his feet, then turns and pokes around on the field where he thinks the hole is until it falls. When he finds it, he drops the pole into the hole. Then he turns and moves diagonally to O-13, cursing at the brambles. (Reflex save 10 and Strength Check 22 to move). He grins when he sees lionTaur #7.
Kale d20+8=15 Friday October 18th, 2002 2:08:24 AM
seeing that one of the wemics is about to cross the moat, Kale charges liontaur #6, using his chain to knock the ball out of his hands(hit ac 15)
DM Janell Friday October 18th, 2002 7:21:52 AM
Just to make sure we're clear...you are NOT entangled by the liontaur's spell...he just unentangled his own team.
Ceira Friday October 18th, 2002 10:33:17 AM
If allowed, she'll command Unseen Servant #1 to move from M3 to L1. She will also command Unseen Servant #2 to grab the second net on the weapon's rack and throw it at Liontaur #7.
Although not certain where Liontaur #6 went, Ceira decides to take advantage of this momentary pause before he reappears. She takes one step back to P8 and then casts Silent Image at her goal. She will cast it to fit all spaces in column 1 and 2 (OOC: Eight 10-ft cube maximum). Her image will be to recreate the grassy field, the watery moat, but the illusion will be to shift the goal to squares M1, L1, K1.
(OOC: Might be too many turns here but I'll leave that up to you. Unseen servants are not allowed an attack roll. If throwing a net is considered an attack then I'll command it to throw it to square N15 for a random shot.)
Flat-top d20+10=18 d4+4=8 Friday October 18th, 2002 11:18:31 AM
Flat-top Remembers to rules, "Sorry! Captain!" But notices that the weimic (Ge) is picking up the ball, Flat-top will gallop to Him han hit him with his fist, hoping to make him drop the ball.
OOC: To hit ac18 damage 8hp.
Zeoll the Lesser Sunday October 20th, 2002 3:03:44 PM
Seeing Kale has a handle on the liontaur near the goal, and since the leader of the enemy side is well protected, Zeoll decides to cast Grease on Geaseth's ball. He takes a half step forward -- just in spell range, just out of attack range of liontaur #5. He casts his spell.
(OOC: "objects wielded or employed by creatures receive a Reflex saving throw to avoid the effect. If the initial saving throw fails, the creature immediately drops the item. A saving throw must be made each round the creature attempts to pick up or use the greased item.")
Kenisha Sunday October 20th, 2002 11:43:21 PM
Still chanting, Kenisha scans the playing field. "Watch out!" she cries, "Geaseth has a ball!"
Leets Monday October 21st, 2002 12:31:27 PM
The Centaur Paladin, not rellay getting what happened to Brahmah, is glad to see him back. Now seeing Rhirehan disappearing in the same way, Leets moves to K17, ready to help their ally while his friends defend their own goal...
"Rhirehan!Hey! Where are you?!"
Oh The Suspense! (DM Janell) d20+4=19 d4=4 d20+7=9 d20+4=16 d20+9=14 d20+3=18 d20-4=3 d6=6 d8=4 d6=6 d8=8 d6=3 d20+11=12 d20+12=15 d20+3=21 d20+12=23 d12+5=8 Tuesday October 22nd, 2002 1:15:10 AM
Brahmah marks the pit with the pole and then moves to intercept Liontaur #7. Ceira moves unseen servant #1 (who is now at L1) . Unseen servant #2 throws it's net. The net flies through the air, and overshoots Liontaur #7 and lands on top of the grass in M16. Note: I'm assuming that these are combat nets. So, if you want to try again with the net, someone will have to spend 2 rounds...three for the unseen servant, to refold the net. The wemic watches as the net flies over the top of his head, and almost rubs his eyes in disbelief as the Chosen's goal moves across the field!
Kale spots Liontaur #6 heading in to make a score, and charges toward the last spot that he saw the wemic. Unfortunately, he finds himself tumbling about 4 feet, to fall heavily on the wemic's back. Disoriented for a few seconds, Kale quickly discovers that he has fallen into a pit trap that is roughly 10 feet wide, and would be 10 feet deep if he wasn't on the back of Liontaur #6 who apparently fell into the trap before Kale. The lean wemic crumples underneath Kale's weight (don't worry, he's not dead), and Kale notices that the spikeball lies near the wemic's head. Since there is really only enough room for one wemic to turn himself around, Kale finds it extremely difficult to get to his feet (-4 penalty to get up from prone). Kale also notes that if he could manage to stand up, he could probably climb out of the pit if he was lucky (climb check if you are successful in standing from the prone state).
Flat-top's blow connects with Geaseth's jaw, but the wemic does not drop the spikeball. Zeoll comes in for the assist, and casts his spell. The ball in Geaseth's hands is instantaneously covered with grease. Greaseth's grip on the ball falters, and it slips from his hands onto the ground. Geaseth looks over his shoulder and growls at Zeoll.
Leets goes over to check on Rhirehan. He hears the wemic's voice come up from the ground in front of him. "I'm down here. Be careful, there's a pit down here! I'm going to throw the ball up. Catch it and throw it in the goal." The spikeball flies up through the grass, but flies over the top of Leets head, and lands with a thump on the grass in L16.
Geaseth begins to chant in draconic, and soon the spikeball at his feet is no longer covered in grease. Geaseth reaches down and picks it up again. The spines prick the skin on his hands again, but he smiles in triumph.
Liontaur #2 and Worgerg (the tattooed freak) shove their way in front of Flat-top in order to block Geaseth. They both swing their weapons at Flat-top, but neither are able to connect!
Liontaur #5 chants in druidic, and an eagle flies into the arena.
Meanwhile, down in the pit, the bald headed Liontaur #6 struggles to rise to his feet, but is kept prone thanks to Kale's weight which bares down on top of him. "Hey, you big lug, get off of me!" the wemic pants.
Liontaur #7 is not deterred by Brahmah's arrival, and heads over to the weapons rack. He picks up a great axe, and moves in to engage the Chosen's captain. His powerful blow connects with Brahmah, but barely nicks him (8 hp damage).
Brahmah d20+9=18 d6+9=11 Tuesday October 22nd, 2002 5:17:00 AM
OOC: No Map?! The brambles are not affecting Brahmah? Okay, I want to assume that I could have got to the rack then.
Brahmah takes a 5 foot step toward the racks (into P-14, diagonally from 0-13), picks up one of the 20 foot long poles with both hands and swings around attempting to catch the wemic in small of the back (where the taur and humanoid halves meet).
(I'll use the damage of a quarter staff initially when swinging the pole, 1d6)
Brahmah hits AC 18 for 11 damage breaking the pole over the wemics back.(6 damage from primary hand plus second hand +3). "Cross me kitten!? This is a GAME! Play it!" The captain shouts at the liontaur. "Drop the axe and pick up a BALL! be Honorable."
Leets d20+4=16 Tuesday October 22nd, 2002 7:43:12 AM
Leets'heart beats hard as he hear Rhirehan's words and see the ball flying over his head. Surprisingly finding himself alone with the ball, Leets trots, picks up the spiked ball without hesitating and tries to throw it in the goal...(rolled a 16).
OOC: I don't have the map right now, so I hope we're not that far away from the goal...(what's the range for a spikeball by the way?)
Kale d20=15 d20+6=21 d3+4=7 Tuesday October 22nd, 2002 8:58:13 AM
trying to get up(check of 15), Kale kicks the the wemic in the head for good measure(ac 21 for 7 pts). then he grabs for the spikeball and tucks it in his arms. "How's your head." he asks the wemic

Flat-top is without any weapons, he's fighting with his fist and hooves (without the hooves shoes) "In the name of fair play, Almie and Domi. Take this!" Flat-top hit (Lt#2) right on the jaw (hit AC 19 - doing 8hp of damages) then rears hitting (Wo) with his hooves (Hit AC 22 and AC 27 - doing damages of 8hp and 7hp). "Go ahead I'll be with you in a minute."
Zeoll the Lesser Tuesday October 22nd, 2002 8:12:44 PM
Switching his tail back and forth in frustration, Zeoll the Lesser casts ANOTHER Grease spell on Geaseth's ball!
Then he takes a step toward the druid near him, hoping for an attack of opportunity if the druid tries another spell (At least the opposing druid will have to step back to cast safely).
Kenisha Tuesday October 22nd, 2002 10:42:21 PM
Watching the game i a bit of confusion, Kenisha goes back to chanting for her side. "Go, Chosen, Go! Go, Chosen, Go!"
Ceira Tuesday October 22nd, 2002 10:57:59 PM
Ceira leaves her Unseen Servants alone and continues to concentrate on the Silent Image.

His heart racing, Leets picks up the spikeball next to him (it does 2 damage to your hands) and hurls it toward Geaseth's goal. Time seems to slow for Leets as he watches the ball soar over the moat and land with a thud on the grass inside the goal! The crowd roars with applause, and soon Kenisha's chant of "Go Chosen Go" is echoed by a thousand voices until the noise is almost deafening! As soon as the ball sets down inside the goal, it teleports back into the middle of the field (I11).
Meanwhile, Brahmah manages to break the 20 foot pole over the back of Liontaur #7, who barely flinches at the attack. On the other side of the field, Flat-top manages to more than hold his own as he engages in hoof to hoof combat with two armed opponents. Both wemics grunt as Flat-top's blows connect, but neither seem too terribly wounded.
Down in the pit, Kale mercilessly smacks his opponent in the head, and barely is able to regain his footing. He reaches down and picks up the spikeball, only to have the sharp spines dig into his skin (1 damage).
In the meantime, Zeoll and Ceira are kept busy with spellcasting. Ceira concentrates hard to keep up her illusion, while a frustrated Zeoll attempts to once again grease Geaseth's ball. This time, however, Geaseth manages to twist out of the way, just in time, and the ball is unaffected.
Down on the other end of the field, Rhirehan easily hoists himself out of the pit. He looks up at Leets and grins. "What do you say we get a pole and mark this pit?"
Geaseth grins wickedly at Zeoll as he sprints down the field. However, Zeoll soon has a reason of his own to smile as Geaseth comes zipping past him toward the illusionary goal! Zeoll takes a swipe at Geaseth as he sprints by, but fails to connect with his paw (rolled AC 7 for you...sorry :( ). Geaseth makes it to a point right in front of the Chosen's "goal", and makes a spectacular throw right into the middle of the net. He stands befuddled for a few minutes as nothing happens, and then begins to swear as he realizes that he has been duped by a simple illusion!
Liontaur #2 smirks at Flat-top, and then brings down the greatsword once again. This time he connects, and does 9 hp of damage. The freak spots the ball that was just teleported, and goes to take up a defensive position in front of it.
Liontaur #5 begins speaking in high pitched squeals and squeaking noises. The hawk flies toward the spikeball that just teleported into the center of the field, swoops down, and grabs the ball up in its talons, and carries it over to Geaseth.
The bald wemic (Liontaur #6) rolls over on his side with amazing deftness, causing Kale to loose his footing. The wemic quickly lashes out with his strong hind paws, and slashes into Kale's soft belly, doing 11hp of damage. The wemic grins wickedly at Kale. "Oh, my head's just fine. How's your stomach doing?" Kale and Liontaur #6 are now both in the prone position in opposite sides of the pit (man, that's a tight squeeze!).
Liontaur #7 just laughs at Brahmah and smashes the great axe into the brave warrior a second time...once again only inflicting 8 hp of damage.
Kale d20+4=18 d20+6=23 Wednesday October 23rd, 2002 10:19:22 PM
standing back up again(18 check), Kale shruggs off the wound and says "If you want the ball so bad, here you go!" then Kale launches the ball right into the wemic's face(hits AC 23 for i dont know how much damage, but my strength bonus is +4). then he picks up the ball and says "Want another shot?"
Ceira Thursday October 24th, 2002 2:40:17 AM
Breaking her concentration now will give away the REAL goal too soon. Ceira decides to take a gamble and continues to concentrate on her Silent Image. 'Maybe Geaseth will throw and miss again' she thinks to herself.
If Geaseth or the Eagle decides to approach the dormant spikeball on L1, Ceira will break her Silent Image and command Unseen Servant #1(already standing on L1) to pick up the ball and throw it as far as it can eastward towards Zeoll.
Brahmah d20+9=27 2d6(5+4)+6=15 Thursday October 24th, 2002 4:58:09 AM
Dodging Lt#7, AC 17 vs Lt#7. He keeps the 10 foot pole in his hand. Scowling at the wemic, Brahmah takes a 5 foot step into P-15, retrieves a greatsword off the rack (attack of opportunity on Brahmah), then turns and strikes out at Lt #7 hitting AC 27 for 15 DAMAGE. "Okay! Let's play then!" Brahmah roars with joy and smiles broadly.
Zeoll the Lesser d20+3=21 Thursday October 24th, 2002 7:26:51 AM
[OOC: I figure there's not enough time in a round for Geaseth to run (move action), throw (attack action), gape (free action?), and take the ball from the eagle (move-equivalent action). So I figure the ball is either in the eagle's claws or on the ground next to Geaseth. If not, let me know and I'll revise my turn.]
Zeoll moves to L7, then to L6, then to K5. As he moves, he gets his shield set for combat (readying a shield is a free action when combined with a move). Moreover, he also starts to sing (Bardic Song to Inspire Courage):
Geaseth, Geaseth, why so glum? Threw the ball and missed by some! Geaseth, Geaseth why so sad? Now you know your aim is bad!
(He's singing in wemic so he has no accent. But the taunting tone and jaunty tune should inspire even his friends who don't understand the words. As a result, allies get +1 to damage and attacks starting NEXT round.)
(So far that's a move action and two free actions.)
If the eagle is carrying the ball, then Zeoll tries to grab the ball away from the bird. That's a disarm attempt (Player's Handbook, page 137). The bird gets an attack of opportunity (Zeoll is AC 15). If the eagle hits, the disarm fails. If it misses, Zeoll and the eagle get opposed attack rolls, with size modifiers (I'll let you, Janell, figure out the size modifiers). Holy Smokes! Zeoll rolls a 21 on the disarm attempt! If his roll beats the eagle's, Zeoll now has the ball (since he has no weapon in hand). That's all he has time for this round.
If the ball is on the ground, Zeoll picks it up. That's a move-equivalent action that ends his turn. Moveover, it provokes attacks of opportunity against Zeoll from both eagle and Geaseth -- but unless those attacks kill him (AC 15, 28 hp), he then has the ball.
Flat-top d20+7=25 d4+4=7 d4+4=8 Thursday October 24th, 2002 10:41:35 AM
Flat-top winces in pain and hit him with his fist (25 critical hit -- damage 7+8=15) the weimic (Lt#2). Then run to defend Zeoll.
ooc: if Ceira is in trouble he'll cover her. But if Zeoll gets the ball Flat-top will cover him.
Leets Friday October 25th, 2002 7:42:33 AM
"YES!"
Says Leets joyful as the ball lands in the goal. He then see Rhirehan coming out of the pit, and regrets not to be able to help him.
"Are you ok? No wounds?" "You are right, we should put a pole here, so that none of us falls here...I don't know if there are poles remaining, all I have here is this long piece of rope..."
Leets gets a look at the things remaining on both side of the field, and also the chaos of the "battle" happening around the other goal...
"We would lose much time picking a pole and coming back here...I'll surround the pit with this rope...Anyway if we can't help those who fell, it doesn't really serves."
Leets, with Rhirehan's help, quickly surrounds the invisible pit, and then comes back to the game.
"Now here we go Rhirehan, we are needed!"

The battle continues to rage down in the pit. Showing no mercy towards his opponent (AC of 19), Kale finds a new use for the spikeball. The spines rake across the wemic's face and leave a large gash across his cheek.
Ceira holds her concentration on the goal and watches Geaseth carefully.
Down on the other side of the field, Brahmah carries on his match with the burly Liontaur #7 (AC is 16). As he steps toward the weapon rack, the wemic makes his attack of opportunity and connects, doing 10 hp of damage. After retrieving his weapon, Brahmah slices into the wemic once more, cutting a large gash in his front leg.
Zeoll begins his taunting tune, and moves to pick up the spikeball that the eagle dropped last round. The eagle attack with both of its claws, and manages to connect with one, doing 1 hp of damage. Geaseth manages to control himself enough to take a couple of swipes at Zeoll with his claws. Zeoll's jingle infuriates him though, and Geaseth misses both times. Zeoll's heart pounds as he realizes that he is now in control of the spikeball. Flat-top spots Zeoll's maneuvers, and takes a pot shot at Liontaur #2 (AC is 16) in passing (rolled crit threat for you ...it is a crit!). Flat-top takes up a position to the right of Zeoll.
Rhirehan smiles at Leets creative thinking, and through much groping and feeling, the two of them manage to mark the pit with the rope.
Geaseth looks back over his shoulder at his own goal, and then back at the Chosen's goal. He moves toward the Chosen's goal. Seeing his movement, Ceira lets her concentration drop, and the unseen servant picks up the ball and throws it (range for spikeball is 20 feet). The ball flies through the air, and lands about 4 feet to the left of Zeoll. Geaseth turns purple in rage, and begins screaming "You idiots, get those balls!"
Liontaur #5 grimaces, and then squawks at the eagle once more. The eagle flies toward the spikeball that the servant just threw, and scoops it up in its talons. The move provokes an attack of opportunity from Zeoll, who rears up and smacks the bird with both of his paws. The eagle disappears, and the ball drops back onto the ground.
The freak and Liontaur #2 respond to Geaseth's cry for help by sprinting forward and attacking Zeoll. Both wemic's attacks connect, and two large wounds open on Zeoll's rear flank (24 hp damage total).
Seeing victory near at hand, Liontaur #5 suddenly begins to change form. He shrinks and feathers begins to shoot from his skin. He turns into an eagle, and flys forward to pick up the spikeball between the freak and Liontaur #2 but doesn't manage to connect.
Liontaur #7 continues to press his attack, and hammers down on Brahmah again, doing 13 hp of damage.
Down in the pit, the bald headed wemic shoots Kale a withering look as he gets back up on his feet. "As entertaining as this game is, I believe I'll go play with the others." Grabbing various sections of the wall, the wemic begins to climb out of the pit." Kale barely misses him with his attack of opportunity with the spikeball, and the wemic makes it all the way out of the pit.
Zeoll the Lesser Saturday October 26th, 2002 1:28:01 AM
Badly wounded, Zeoll decides to move the ball he is holding down the field. He moves to L4, M4, N5, N6, N7, (swinging wide out of range of the enemy!), M8, M9, M10, M11, M12, M13, M14, M15, M16, and then to M17. That's 80 feet -- a full move.
As he runs, Zeoll's song shifts to Tauric, and he sings it right at the Chosen toward whom he runs:
Leets, come fast and grrab this ball! Grrab it erre I die and fall!
At the end of his move, Zeoll drops the ball -- a free action.
Flat-top d20+7=27 d4+4=7 d4+4=6 Saturday October 26th, 2002 3:17:08 AM
Flat-top with his fist, will wedge himself between Zeoll and WO, hoping to give Zeoll the chance he seeks. Flat-top will try to guard Zeolls read and will try to interfere any taur trying to stop Zeoll.
OOC: to hit 27 critical - damages 7+6=13
Kale d20+8=20 Saturday October 26th, 2002 9:59:04 AM
climbing out of the pit(climb check of 20) Kale sees Leets down near the goal, and without another thought Kale throws his spikeball as far as he can to Leets. "HEADS UP LEETS!!" Kale yells out
Ceira Monday October 28th, 2002 8:09:12 AM
Ceira commands Unseen Servant #1 to move south to I1. Meanwhile, Unseen Servant #2 has been repeating her last command which was to throw a net at Liontaur #7. It must be tired of making air throws by now. She will relay a new command to tell it to walk to O13 and start applying it's 20lb pushing force at random into the space of O14. (OOC: The goal is to disrupt the attacks of Liontaur #7 by giving him jolts from his side. Unseen Servant's can't "attack" so it's just some random chance he may hit him on accident.)
Also, Ceira will pick up the extra net lying on her feet on P9. She will run as far as needed to be within throwing range of tossing the net to J1.
If someone takes a shot at the goal, she will command it to pick up the net, unravel it, and raist it straight up to form a wall.
Brahmah(ADM Ceil) d20+9=27 2d6(5+5)+6=16 Monday October 28th, 2002 8:10:17 AM
"Not a smart idea, KITTEN." Bellowed Brahmah, as he swing again (to hit 27 critical? - Damages 16).
OOC: I don't have Jay's file, and I don't know what weapon He's using.
Ceil, it is my opinion that every ADM should have a copy of the CS's for the game, so I'm sending them out to you. I'll leave it to you to make sure you get updated copies of them when appropriate.---Janell
Leets d20+5=23 Monday October 28th, 2002 12:29:09 PM
As he begins to trot in the direction of the other side of the field, Leets realize that his friends are in fact coming in his direction. He is still wondering how to help them, and was ready to charge any opponent, when Zeoll and Kala call the centaur paladin.
Leets once more see the spiked ball, 2 spiked balls in fact! And prays Domi:
"O Domi help me, we must win!"
He moves to L17, in the area just next to him, and first put his hands on Zeoll, healing 14HP. He then picks the spiked ball, trying not to feel the tiny blades.
More serious than ever, he finally looks in the direction of the goal, and yells "RHIREHAN!!! Catch the other ball that is arriving!!!"
He then throw his own ball as far as he can, aiming at the goal and praying Domi!
OOC: 23 to throw the ball...
Chosen 2, Geaseth 0!!!! (DM Janell) d20+7=26 d6=6 d20=10 d6=3 d2=2 d20+9=12 d8=8 d20+3=9 d6=6 d6=2 d6=1 Monday October 28th, 2002 9:53:38 PM
Zeoll, ever the expert tactician, grabs the spikeball and runs for his life toward the opponent's goal. He drops the ball by Leets, and pants heavily as he tries to catch his breath. Blood flows freely from the wounds in his sides, and pain wracks the Chosen's body every time he takes a breath.
Flat-top fires a parting blow at the freak, clocking him once again, and then covers Zeoll's back. However, since he landed the blow, the centaur finds that he is not able to keep up with the light footed wemic.
Kale rotates and throws the spikeball with every ounce of strength in his body. The ball soars across the field, and then disappears from view as it fails into the pit that Rhirehan and Leets just marked. The maximum range of a spikeball is 60 feet. There are no penalties for trying to throw it with any accuracy at 20 feet. However, for every 20 feet beyond that, a --2 penalty is assessed. Kale, I went ahead and rolled for you. Your toss did not meet its intended target of Leets, and instead veered off course and into the pit.
The combat continues to rage between Brahmah and Liontaur #7. Brahmah slices away at the wemic while Ceira's unseen servant pushes at him. .
Leets moves over and finds himself in a tricky situation...he can either heal Zeoll, or throw the spikeball. Knowing the importance of the match, Leets throws the ball (the spines inflicted 6 hp of damage last round), and it arcs gracefully over the moat to land with a beautiful thud on the grass inside the goal, and then teleports back to H11. Once again the crowd goes wild!!!!!
Rhirehan sees Kale's ball arc through the air, and without another though, tumbles into the pit after it. He throws the spikeball out of the pit, and it lands on the grass in J17.
Geaseth manages to compose himself slightly, and makes tracks after Zeoll and Flat-top. He stops just out of Flat-top's range, and survey's the field.
Liontaur #5 who is know in eagle form wings its way over to the ball that Rhirehan just removed from the pit, and attempts to swoop down and clutch it in its talons. It misses the ball, and hovers over the area.
Liontaur #6 makes a dash for the spikeball that just teleported into the middle of the field, and picks it up.
Liontaur #2 spots the spikeball lying right next to him and picks it up. He sprints over to the side of the pit, placing himself in prime scoring territory.
The freak spots the eagles failed attempt at snatching the spikeball, and dashes down the field to place himself in between the eagle and Leets (drawing an attack of opportunity from Leets).
Liontaur #7 breaks off his combat with Brahmah and sprints down toward the freak. He stops just in front of the spikeball and picks it up.
Kale d20+7=21 d20+6=24 Tuesday October 29th, 2002 9:14:40 AM
knowing that he's the only one to stop #2 from scoring, Kale leaps over the pit(made jump check of 21), tackles the wemic and tries to drag him to the ground(hit AC 24)
Ceira Tuesday October 29th, 2002 10:39:02 AM
Seeing Liontaur #2 get near the goal, Ceira will command Unseen Servant #1 to unravel the net and raise it up to block the goal.
She will command Unseen Servant #2 to move to N11.
Leets d20+7=26 d4+2=5 d20+7=26 d20+2=20 Tuesday October 29th, 2002 3:28:26 PM
The last goal leaves a bitter taste to Leets as he had to choose between his friend and the game.
However, he realize that he cannot help Zeoll right now, because an eagle and another opponent try to grab the ball. Glancing one last time to Zeoll to make sure he is temporary safe, Leets looks badly at the freak who tries to grab the ball. During one second he wonders if he will not push him in the pit, but remembers there is already Rhirehan inside... Instead of it, he just throw his hoof in the Liontaur face (26 to hit, 5 damage) as he moves in K16 to stop Lt7. The centaur paladin yells "YOU WON'T PASS!" as he catches the Liontaur (another roll of 26...) and tries to pin him on the ground, using all his centaur weight (Strength check 20).
To pin someone requires a grapple attempt, which is an attack. I am going to assume that you did NOT attack the freak, and instead tried to grapple Liontaur #7.----Janell
I thought Leets had an attack of opportunity on the freak (attack 26, damage 5). Then he would attack Lt 7 as his attack for this round (26 once more to grab) and then I made a strength check of 20 to pin...
Brahmah(Ceil) Tuesday October 29th, 2002 5:32:17 PM
Brahmah yells at Flat-top, "Flat-top get that weimic(Lt#6),Stop him from getting that BALL! Good going Kale, Cover that spikeball. Look out for that darn Eagle". Then Brahmar take off on the run to get that ball away from (Lt#6).
Flat-top d20+7=26 d4+4=8 d4+4=7 Tuesday October 29th, 2002 5:47:22 PM
Flat-top is running, when Brahmah yell at him to cover the weimic(Lt#6) near the ball. Flat-top turns and head for that weimic(Lt6) about 20 feet away. Flat-top will hit that weimic in the face to make him drop that spike ball.
Flat-top hit him in his face (attack (oops! critical 26 - damage 8+7=15)
Zeoll the Lesser (AC 15, 4 hp) Tuesday October 29th, 2002 11:09:54 PM
Zeoll walks to P14 and picks up a Tanglefoot Bag. He is still singing (Everyone remember to add in your +1 to hit and damage).

Kale makes a running jump, and manages to clear the pit, if only just barely. He lands on top of Liontaur #2, and the force of the impact knocks the ball out of the wemic's hands
Unseen Servant #1 unfolds the net, and holds it up to block the goal. The net provides 2/3 coverage on the side opposite Kale. Meanwhile Servant #2 moves per Ceira's request.
Leets moves to pin the freak, but the wemic smashes him with his battleaxe (8 dmg) and Leets is unable to get a hold on the tricky warrior.
Brahmah makes a double move, and reaches Liontaur #6. Flat-top follows close behind, and is attacked by Geaseth who misses as Flat-top whizzes by. Pulling up along side Liontaur #6, Flat-top smacks the warrior (not a critical, just a threat), but he doesn't drop the ball.
Zeoll continues to inspire his comrades as he goes over to the weapons rack and picks up a tanglefoot bag.
Rhirehan does not become visible.
Geaseth casts a spell, and then moves to stand just in front of Liontaur #6.
Liontaur #2 struggles underneath the weight of Kale on his back, and is unable to drag himself from under him.
The eagle that is Liontaur #5 flies over and lands next to Liontaur #2. The eagle lands on the ground, and then reverts back to its wemic form.
Liontaur #6 sees that the Chosen's goal is tied up, and sprints down the side. A look of utter astonishment crosses his face seconds before he and the spikeball he holds disappears from view.
Seeing no better course of action, the freak sprints with his spikeball across the field, he makes it all of the way around the moat with no interference.
Liontaur #7 runs up to take a position beside Geaseth, drawing an attack of opportunity from both Flat-top and Brahmah.
Kenisha Wednesday October 30th, 2002 6:46:24 AM
(ooc- I'd like to apologize for not posting. There was a family emergency and I wasn't able to post/communicate. Great job with the game everyone!)
Kenisha continues to chant and cheer for her side, but every new gash or wound on her friends makes her wince and once or twice she almost stands up as if to go help them, but remembers in time that she can't.
Marilyn, hope you and your family are doing better.---Janell
Zeoll the Lesser (AC 15, 4 hp) d20-2=9 Wednesday October 30th, 2002 3:06:38 PM
Zeoll moves in a straight line, through Ceira's square, 40 feet to square P6. He throws his tanglefoot bag 25 feet at the wemic in square P1. That's two range increments away, so Zeoll has a -4 on the attack. But it is a ranged touch attack, so armor (and natural armor) do not apply.
Alas, his attack roll misses badly -- even with the morale boost. He keeps singing, though.
OOC: Janell, isn't the south side of the map -- where that one liontaur fell into the pit -- still entangled?
Flat-top Wednesday October 30th, 2002 4:52:22 PM
"Captain! I'm going after Litter Face, and help Kale." Flat-top told Brahmah.
Flat-top will follow Brahmah.
Captain Brahmar(Ceil) Wednesday October 30th, 2002 5:03:19 PM
"NO! Flat-top cover me." Said Brahmah to the Centaur. To Kale, he yells "Kale throw the Ball to me. I'll run it in." Then to Flat-top again, "Look out for that Flying Bird." Brahmah gets ready to catch the Ball.
OOC: If and when Brahmah catches the ball he'll run toward the goal, then throw the ball to the nearest Team Mate.
Kale d20+6=26 Wednesday October 30th, 2002 7:08:23 PM
getting off the wemic, Kale picks up the spikeball and throws a beautiful pass to Brahmah(rolled a 20!!). then Kale jumps into the moat and swims across, then stands in front of the goal that isnt covered by the net."Get it past me if you can!!!" Kale yells out as he prepares to block any goal attempt(i guess he's a goalie)
Kenisha Thursday October 31st, 2002 12:25:12 AM
(ooc- regarding family: so far so good. My nephew has leukemia and I stayed with my brother's younger kids while he and his wife was dealing with Michael. He took a bad turn, but seems to be responding well now.)
Kenisha's chant switches to: "Two down, one to go. Two down, one to go. The truth we will know. Two down, one to go."
Ceira Thursday October 31st, 2002 2:14:05 AM
While Unseen Servant #1 continues to hold up the net, she will command Unseen Servant #2 to move south to K11.
(OOC: I have a crazy idea I want to try but it is nick picking and will be left up to the DM's discretion...)
Ceira gasps as the freaky wemic runs by her. She readies herself to cast a pair of Magic Missles. Although her eyes focuses on the target at P1, her finger will point slightly northward. (OOC: As the missles fork out from her finger, one is aimed more north than the other so one missle must make a wider arc to reach it's target... since they're at the same velocity, there's a delay.) The first missle will be aimed at the wemic's hands while the second will be aimed at the spikeball itself.
(OOC: The idea is to knock the spikeball out of his hands for 1/2 second before the second missle will propell it at some random direction. I want to go for the shut-out!!! ^_^)

Zeoll tosses the tanglefoot bag, which lands with a harmless splash in the moat.
Kale throws his recently acquired spikeball, goes for a swim, and stands menacingly in front of the Chosen's goal.
Kenisha's chant is taken up by the crowd as everyone learns forward in their seats in anticipation.
Ceira realizes that she can't target a part of the opponent's body as her magic missles streak from her hand and smash into the freaks body.
Brahmah catches Kale's beautifully passed ball (taking 6hp of damage), and sprints for the goal with Flat-top covering him. Brahmah passes the ball off to Leets, who launches the ball toward the goal. Time seems to stop. The ball glides through the air mere inches off the surface of the lake, and then lands with a thud inside the goal! A brief period of intense silence is followed by the deafening roar of the crowd, as everyone, including the judges in the judges booth cheer the goal.
Geaseth looks incensed! He looks at the other wemics, and then nods his head. The freak and Liontaur #2 and #7 sprint toward various members of the party, wiping their weapons across a small white cloth tucked in their sleeves. The freak rushes Zeoll, and his axe slices into the Chosen's side (16 damage). Zeoll falls to the ground unconscious. Liontaur #7 swings his greatsword at Brahmah's hindquarters, but misses. Liontaur #2 sprints toward Flat-top, but isn't able to make an attack this round.

Zeoll gasps in agony and dies!
Flat-top Friday November 1st, 2002 9:16:14 PM
Flat-top turns towards the Judges, takes his tunic off (To show that he had no armor or weapon) and Yells "WHY! IT'S ONLY A GAME? IS WHAT HE'S (the Freak) DONE PART OF THE GAME? IS KILLING ZEOLL MAKE YOU RIGHT? YOU WANT TO SHED MORE BLOOD TO PROVE YOUR POWER OVER DOMI? NEVER MIND THE RULES THEY DON'T MEAN ANYTHING TO YOU! WELL, HERE I AM! Brahmah Saturday November 2nd, 2002 7:54:51 AM
OOC: I'm back, for now, or until I break my computer again.
Brahmah roars at his friends' fallen form.
"Domi! No!" Tears form in the minoTaur captains eyes, while time stops and Zeoll's blood spills.
Then seeing the rope at his feet, Brahmah realizes that there is a pit right there, nearly falling into it. He watches his step as he moves (stepping 5 feet) into K-18 and drops to his knees, weeping. "This whole game is for nothing if Taurs are just going to die anyway! Isn't that why there was trial by Spike ball in the first place!?" He raises his arms to the heavens, also waiting to to be struck down, shaking his fists as he roars. Then the Captain collapses into to a heap of matted, bloody fur.
(OOC: I'm going to assume that Rhirehan hasn't reappeared for a good reason.)
Flat-top Sunday November 3rd, 2002 9:50:21 AM
Flat-top turn to look at his Team Captain as he speaks, but the look of horror spreads. Flat-top turns back to the Judges "NOW MINOTAUR, OH! YES , YOU SHOULD ADD A CENTAUR TO YOUR TROPHY. GO AHEAD I'M READY TO DIE. MAY DOMI AN ALMIE JUDGE YOU FAIRLY" Flat-top waits for the death blow that he knows is to come.

Kenisha Sunday November 3rd, 2002 11:46:44 PM
When the final goal is made, Kenisha jumps up and is cheering wildly. Too late does she see the treacherous wemic's attack on Zeoll. Her cheer turns into a horrified scream of denial.
She turns to face the judges, a pained but determined look to her tear-filled eyes. "If you don't stop them right now, I WILL! By Domi's name I swear it!!!!"
Before they can answer, she moves out of the judges' box and heads towards the weapon rack (only if there are weapons still there. If not, she'll head straight for the freak wemic).
Brahmah, Blessed, but no longer inspired d20+10=23 2d6(2+4)+7=13 Monday November 4th, 2002 12:10:51 AM
OOC: Seeing as how Brahmah isn't unconscious, he'll remain standing.
Brahmah steps into K-18 and Readies to attack Lt#7 if he steps into K-17 (or nearest square), the greatsword remains in his hand. Both of Brahmah's hands wrap, clasped fingers with white nuckles, held straight in front of him. (making a 'premptive' strike just in case, hitting AC 23 for 13 damage.) Staring right at Lt#7, "STOP!"

Judgement and Sorrow (DM Janell) Monday November 4th, 2002 11:03:51 AM
The crowd and the elders watch Geaseth's team's actions with horror. They watch frozenly as the freak's axe carves into Zeoll's body. Then, as if wakening suddenly from a nightmare, the stadium bursts into activity. Several burly guards rush the field and quickly disarm the members of Geaseth's team as booing and shouts of "Dishonor" drown out any other noise, including Flat-top's stirring speech. Several people from the audience begin to clamber over the low wall that surrounds the field, and the guards rush Geaseth's team (including the wemic in the pit) from the field in fear that they will be lynched on the spot.
The crowd calms slightly after Geaseth's team is removed, and healers are brought to tend to the Chosen. Zeoll's body is tenderly lifted from the field as the chief elder takes to the field. His voice booms above the noise of the crowd. "Domi's will has been clearly shown today. It is obvious to your elders that the Chosen are innocent of all crimes presented against them. By their actions on this very field, by murdering a fellow Taur, Geaseth and his companions have proven that they have no honor. We thereby pronounce the sentence of banishment. At first light, the guilty wemics will be placed on a sea worthy vessel with one weeks rations and left to Domi's mercy on the high seas."
After having their wounds tended to, the Chosen are escorted back to the elders quarters. The chief elder approaches Kenisha and bows before her. "There are no words to describe our sorrow at what occurred today. A great victory has been won for your cause, but at a terrible price!" The elder motions to a nearby guard, and Zeoll's body is brought in from another room. The body has been cleaned and groomed, and is wrapped in white linen. "He was a fine representative of our race, and we are sad to see him leave us after such a short life. May Domi grant him peace." The elder motions to another guard, and small sacks are placed in front of each of you...two are placed in front of Kenisha. "Here is your gear." He motions toward the extra bag in front of Kenisha. "This was Zeoll's." His eyes filled with grief, the elder looks each Taur in the face before he continues. "I am saddened that we could not part under happier circumstances. You are welcome to stay with us, but we understand if you wish to depart. If that is your desire, then we would be glad to arrange a vessel to transport you." He touches each of your foreheads before he leaves. "May Domi bless you, and further your cause to unite the Taurs." You are allowed to return to Rhirehan's house (who is alive and well) to rest and decide your further course of action. Ybirard approaches Flat-top and returns his mace to him. "I'm sorry about Mr. Zeoll. He fought well. Do you know what you're going to do next?"
Again, it has been an honor and a privilege to DM such a fine group of players. I look forward to playing with you again. Please let me know if I can be of any assistance.---Janell
Kenisha Monday November 4th, 2002 11:47:52 PM
With tears in her eyes, Kenisha kneels before the linen wrapped corpse of Zeoll. Her fingers shake as she unties one of the seashells she has woven into her hair. She kisses the shell then tucks it into wrappings around his head.
"You may not have been Chosen by Calling, but you are one of the Chosen by your words and by your deeds. Rest in peace, friend."
She stands with a little difficulty then intones in the language of the Wemics a prayer for the departed. "To the unending Plains of Tomi we send the spirit of this fallen liontaur. May he hunt his fill for all eternity."
Picking up the two sacks and follows the others in silence back to Rhirehan's house. She smiles sadly at Ybirard and says, "We will return to Heartshold Isle to intern Zeoll's body. It's only right. After that, I.... I don't know. I just don't know anymore."
She stares outside in silence, her eyes greatly troubled.
(ooc Since Kenisha leveled, I spent two points to pick up Wemic. Now she speaks all the known langauges of the Taurs. :> )
Flat-top Monday November 4th, 2002 11:48:04 PM
Flat-top is looking out the window Back at Rhirehan's Den. Turn to his friends and the family. "Did you know Kenisha, that Zeoll was happy here? And wanted to do anything to reunite the Weimic? Well, I think we should burry him here on Weimic Island. Not in a fogotten part of the island, But some place where every Weimic can see how a real Weimic, DIES for what he believes is right." Flat-top turns to all his friends, and smiles little girl that brough them to this place. Then to her parents and ask "What would all the Weimics think?"
Brahmah Tuesday November 5th, 2002 12:29:34 AM
Brahmah approaches the Elder after the tournament and states his opinion. "Had Zeoll NOT died I would've asked your mercy of the Traitors (Geaseths Team)and asked that they stayed here in their home 'in DISHONOR'. Exiling them isn't the point, the point is unity, if they are exiled they could cause further mistrust among other taurs that did not witness their failure here today. Staying here is further punishment... but Domi's will has been seen, exile them." The bloodied and battered minoTaur walks away with a lowered head, look of victory and severe defeat in his body language. He kicks an stone.
In the elders quarters, Brahmah cleans up and sits quietly with his friends. When Zeoll is brought out, Brahmah walks up to his body and removes the feathers from Zeolls hair. "He once said that Zeoll the Greater once gave him this feather, I think, I'll keep it in his Honor and memory. If he returns and I think he will, he'll want it back." The minoTaur quickly braids the feather into his hair just behind what remains of his mangled left ear. Looking at Zeolls bag, Brahmah wonders what strange and unique items are inside. "I think we should keep these items safe. We shouldn't sell them."
Brahmah picks up his bag and finds his chain shirt and puts it on, then finds his Falchions and fastens the buckle tight, stroking the sheathes. The former Spikeball Captain looks at Kenisha and asks, "Who's carrying Zeolls equipment?"
Brahmah soon pulls Kenisha off to a private corner and apologizes for his failure as Captain. "I'm sorry, if I had stuck to my own tactics or even Zeolls, he might still be here. I did him a great dishonor by letting him die! Should have been me! There are millions of minoTaur fighters like me, but only one Zeoll." Brahmah, who is jovial most of the time, seems grey-faced and truly disturbed by his friends death. He's seen his fair share of death, and even the occassional friends death (not to mention his own fathers death), but no one under his 'command' and a fellow Chosen (sure Zeoll died once already, but not under Brahmah).
When at Rhirehan's house, Brahmah slips out and goes wandering, never leaving sight of the flickering light of the house windows. He finds a nice dead stump and takes his frustrations out on it, striking it with his Falchions several dozen times letting the splinters fly. "Zeoll, I'm sorry." He's says as if someone was listening.
Ceira Tuesday November 5th, 2002 2:04:35 AM
As a wemic of few words, Ceira can only mourn in silence at the departure of Zeoll the Lesser. She looks town and gently grabs hold of his still hand. 'Two Zeoll's!' wonders Ceira. To those around, they only see Ceira stare down in deep silence but her head is brimming with unspoken thoughts...
'Domi must favor you and thinks it is your time to give him company in the spires of heaven above. Perhaps you were meant for greater things... like a martyr. Perhaps these extremes are necessary to drive home the ideas of establishing Tauric unity. Regardless of the outcome, you will be forever remembered as a legendary hero of Wemic Isle.' She sheds one last tear and gently lets go of Zeoll's hand. Ceira scampers off to regain her composure as she prepares for another lengthy and grueling aquatic trip back to Hearthold Keep.
Kale Tuesday November 5th, 2002 2:42:59 AM
staying silent throughout the day, all Kale does is rub Zeoll's forehead a couple of times then goes back and sits in a corner
Leets Tuesday November 5th, 2002 6:28:45 AM
The centaur paladin is terribly struck by Zeoll's death. He thought this game could be a way to solve the problem without spilling too much blood...But now, one of his friends was dead lying before him.
"Although those are Domi's way, I don't wholy understand why you had to fall Zeoll. I also know the price of our quest can be terrible, but we sometimes forget it, and today...today we all remember."
"You used to call yourself The Lesser, but today you once more have been shining even at the dusk of your life. May you now join the other Zeoll by Domi's side: now you'll both be equal to his eyes."
"When the sounds of battle will resound on the field, and when I will need it I know I will hear the chorus of both your voices, my fallen friends..."
"May you now rest in peace, now singing your own courage and the way you bravely fell before the Gods of goodness."
