Hi everyone,
I'm Mike South and I'll be playing Anuk Greyhand, a ranger. I'm looking forward to playing with you.
Jecoby Wednesday November 13th, 2002 11:52:27 PM
ok I have primary done just need to post it.
Scott Thursday November 14th, 2002 1:23:04 AM
Hey there everybody. I wonder what everybody(mainly Anthony) was planning for our reason for being a pack. I, as a bard was thinking it would be kinda neat if we were all a secret society that met to tell stories. As it is verboten, it seems like a natural thing for us hot headed kids to gravitate to. I am currently sneaking out of town query travelers before they hit town to get STORIES OF THE WIDE WOLD from them. I hope this is the right place to talk of such things cuz I think its shady!
Mikey Thursday November 14th, 2002 2:36:02 AM
Greetings all. Here, I'm going to be playing Jacob Connell, a half-elven youth working as a rancher. Probably be a fighter/ranger, who likes a bit of trouble and enjoys good company, but can be quite quick tempered. The secret society story might work, especially if it was a drinking or joke-telling party. Jake is somewhat the easygoing type who can be talked into doing just about anything fun.
Anthony Thursday November 14th, 2002 9:33:25 AM
Normaly Ill post in the morning. As for the reason, you all met in school and like each other OK, the reasons you stick together, that can be anyhting. Think of it like a gang / club at a prep school. But you guys arent bullys. A pack is really just a group of kinds that hang out together, but in a deadly place like thins they get a little closer than normal as well as some of you are foundlings and have no other family.
BigTim Thursday November 14th, 2002 11:05:40 AM
Iīll be playing Milo, your lovable Halfling Wizard/Cook. give you a bit of background on him. he loves cooking more than wizardry, and hopes one day to combine the two in something useful and exciting. as long as you all have known him, he has always smelled like cookies, except of course when we all played hard. his specialty in cooking will be desserts, but he is rather accomplished in anything else he cooks, as all of you have undoubtedly of seen and tasted, being that we all have known each other for quite some time.
Kevin, Iīm up for the beer. matter of fact, iīm honestly thinking about bringing a 6 pack saturday night. iīm sure Jerryīs gonna love that. havenīt had a beer since that stix concert 1 1/2 years ago.

MikeK:Trellus Thursday November 14th, 2002 1:39:43 PM
Hey all.
I'll be Trellus, Cleric of Domi. We'll find out what he's like as soon as he's approved.
Sterlin Thursday November 14th, 2002 3:47:13 PM
Sterlin walks through the tall grass as he always does this time of day, contemplating and just being aware of his connection with this beautiful place.
Anuk Thursday November 14th, 2002 7:59:48 PM
Anuk sits with his journal and tries once more to draw the mighty Great Ranthom. "Can't seem to get the rollers right," he sighs to himself.
Jecoby Thursday November 14th, 2002 10:03:35 PM
Calim Russale will always be in the mood for a good story or two as long as there is a game of cards to be had (of course someone has to have a deck as he is not aloud to anymore).
Mikey Friday November 15th, 2002 2:09:31 AM
How amusing! I played a halfling necromancer named Milo. He was also enthusiastic about cooking. But he got killed by an ogre in a single hit. I hate playing first level guys.
Scott Friday November 15th, 2002 2:48:35 AM
Kam (my bard) thinks that a weaver pack like ours should have a really wax name. Someting like "the grass cutters" or the "shade walkers" or something like that.
ooc: Lingo is cool!
Trellus Friday November 15th, 2002 8:15:23 AM
"Dudes, 'Waxed Shadows' would be the night soil for a name."
Trellus finds a local farmer in need and spends the day energetically indulging in labor intensive tasks.
Anthony Friday November 15th, 2002 9:19:05 AM
Im so proud you all read the slang!!!!!!
Ok why dont you all start spilling all the secrects and what your good at. A pack that has know each other for a while knows how to scrap together too.
Trellus Friday November 15th, 2002 10:05:13 AM
Trellus is a Cleric of Domi. He's your standard combat medic, who happily joins melee with his mace, and then just as happily fixes everyone up.
1/day he can add a +3(his level) bonus to one person's next save roll. Could be handy.
He's also got a high Spellcraft, so is useful in figuring out magic effects.
He uses SPIRITUAL WEAPON if he absolutely has to go missile combat, and a crossbow if he runs out of spells. But, since he's pretty lousy with the missile fire, he avoids it.
Trellus also squirrels away healing potions and helpful scrolls. So he may have what you're looking for.
Sterlin Friday November 15th, 2002 10:49:22 AM
Sterlin sits on the ground in the grass, playing with the cat sized spider he refers to as Ezra. " Grasscutters, did you hear that Ezra? We'll have words with any grass cutters won't we? "
Anthony Friday November 15th, 2002 11:03:42 AM
Kevin "Ezra" isnt well liked in town but hes tolirated, hes a bit creepy. Why cant you get a dog or a cat or something normal.
Milo Friday November 15th, 2002 11:33:43 AM
Walking up to the rest of the gang, holding an odd looking twig in his hands, and a smile across his face, Milo energetically shows everyone.
"Look guys, look and see what my folks gave me as a going away present." He waves around a twig, thicker than normal, and bent in odd shapes until from one end to the other is 8 inches. "Look, it is a magic wand, when I say the correct word," (he doesn't say it), "out shoots a magic missile, and by what my parents told me, I can do it 50 times."
Placing it in between his tunic and belt, Milo also explains, "Gamma and Pappa also gave me a one person skiff, complete with a sail. That way I can put all my cooking stuff plus some of your stuff on it so our travels through the grass will be easier on us.
Excitedly, Milo awaits the rest of the group to show up and late comers, he shows them the things he has as well. As well, he passes out cookies to everyone (applesauce with a hint of nutmeg).
Kevin Friday November 15th, 2002 2:26:23 PM
Because I'm not the normal kind of guy, Anthony
Anuk Friday November 15th, 2002 9:30:07 PM
"Shady, Milo. Thanks!" Anuk eats his cookie while he studies Ezra and tries to figure out how to draw him.
Anuk likes animals. REALLY likes 'em. In fact he can't think of a better way to spend an afternoon than tracking something big that could possibly kill him, just to study it and draw a picture of it in his journal. He's filled four books already, and is making progress on his fifth.
Of course, to do that, you've gotta be sneaky. Anuk can move quietly as a blind swallow in flight when he needs to. He's not bad at hiding either. He can also get an arrow off pretty quickly when the need arises.
Now if only he'd take that damn glove off his arm once in a while...
Sterlin Saturday November 16th, 2002 3:13:32 PM
" Anyone seen any very large grasshoppers? Ezra is hungry."
Scott(Kam) Saturday November 16th, 2002 3:14:38 PM
Kam is as good at getting out of trouble as he is at getting into it. Usually with one of you guys. But the plans always sound so good...
He likes to shoot bows with Anuk, when they were younger Kam talked him into shooting fruit out of each others hands? Kam still has the scars on his palm. Again, it seemed like such a great idea at the time.
While working off one of his many punishments, he is able to keep the mood up during the work by telling jokes or funny stories or just getting everybody to sing along with him.
The most important thing to remember is that life with Kam is never dull. He may not have the best thought out plans, but they sure are fun!
Kevin Sunday November 17th, 2002 4:04:03 PM
you missed it anthony. sunday night we all fought against steven. we nearly killed him until he sold his soul to satan and then he ended up killing himself.
Anthony Monday November 18th, 2002 10:07:13 AM
Kevin did you send me Ezras stats in your sheet?
Trellus Monday November 18th, 2002 11:17:42 AM
Trellus volunteers to help harverst some Purple Grass, and spends the day cheerfully engaged in backbreaking labor.
Kevin Monday November 18th, 2002 2:28:50 PM
I thought I did Anthony, but I can send it again
MikeK Monday November 18th, 2002 2:34:15 PM
Trellus just invented another slang. Knot your threads/knotted thread - Drunk
(See Clangden in RWI for a good example)
Is Trellus the only one using the slang? Cause I think I'm about to have to come up with a reason why.
Calim Monday November 18th, 2002 2:49:54 PM
Calim is good at running his mouth, making outrageous bets, taking care of "busnies" with his rapiers or fists. Everyone has noticed that he is equally skilled with both hands and boasts about that skill to any would be opponents (as he is slashing them down). He does have one weakness he can't back down from a chalenge willingly (no matter the odds)
BigTim aka Clangden aka Milo Monday November 18th, 2002 3:19:19 PM
to Calim: in regards to not backing down. if we say run in combat, and you choose not to. get your other character ready to be played, cuz in the grass, we canīt kill everything.
Mike: donīt take Clangden personally, most newcomers to the game get thrown up on them by him eventually. thatīs my way of saying welcome to the board. if you havenīt been urped on by Clangden, you aint worthy.
Kevin: you aint worthy.
Anthony Monday November 18th, 2002 4:54:17 PM
Sure Mike! Change the feat and resend me the sheet.
Tim has a point guys please remember that.... Not every battle you face is one you can win. Running in this game does not make you a coward, it might make you smart. REMBER there are NO Safetys on in this game.
Anuk Monday November 18th, 2002 7:11:23 PM
Anuk grins as he remembers the little arrow contest he and Kam had a few years back. It makes him think back, and while everyone is gathered outside of Rattledam, he decides to share his story.
"You guys are my pack -- can you keep a secret?" he asks. He slowly removes the large glove covering his right arm, to reveal a pale, gray, withered hand that looks like it belongs on an ancient lich, not a 17 year old boy. "I'm not from around here..."
Kam Tuesday November 19th, 2002 1:35:18 AM
Kam gasps in surprise while the fear on his face quickly turns to curiosity then outrage.
"Hey, I can't believe you never told us the story behind that! I bet it's wax! What happened? I'll bet you got it lopped off and had to get a zombie arm sewn on to replace it; or maybe you touched an ancient artifact and it just sucked the reeds right out of you, or maybe..." He trails off with a longing look in his eyes.
"Come on Anuk, cut it to us true. You know we're the night soil. Now that you mention it I have a secret too. Trellus, remember that time you got in trouble for serving the monks glassed up fruit? Well, that was my fault. I soaked them all night and then put them back in your pantry. I just wanted to see those guys lighten up a bit. How was I to know brother Quelon would get so sick? Who ever heard of someone who couldn't drink Glass? I just knew I'd be thrown out for sure if had I cut the truth, with that grass shed incident still fresh in everyone's mind I was on last thread. But it was fun to watch those beaters get all sun faced, right?"
This is followed by that infectious grin that alternately serves as the reason to do something as well as the excuse for why it was done.
"Well, I know I feel better now. If we are really going to be a pack, we should all spill something, I don't want any brightness among us."
Kevin Tuesday November 19th, 2002 8:30:24 AM
Tim, if worthiness is declared by vomit, then I choose to be unworthy.
Sterlin Tuesday November 19th, 2002 8:34:03 AM
" Lets see. Something about me you all might know. I am obsessed with spiders and grass. I walk for hours alone in the tall grass of the plains sometimes, becoming one with the plains. Lost in the middle of the Sargrass Plains, where many fear, I am at peace. "
Trellus Tuesday November 19th, 2002 10:26:11 AM
To Kam: "Dude! I had chamber pot duty for a month!.....but, that was a totally waxed pick.
"Everyone knows Walker Sterlin is weft and web with the spiders. Any reason why?
"And I gotta hear this weave with the shady arm, Anuk.
"Me, I got an adopted brother, Danner, who weaves about how the sunbaked Raiders ripped his reeds. And his pack's... Some weaver's gonna have to totally cut those white handed treadles.
His stories... well... you dudes ever wonder about the Outside?"
Anthony Tuesday November 19th, 2002 11:49:10 AM
you guys make me smile I worked for 3 weeks on the slang alone.

James Tuesday November 19th, 2002 2:22:43 PM
Sorry for the hold-up on my end. I have read this and be getting that character to you ASAP.
By the way, I will be playing Gilan DeKasparl EnVosh or just Gilan to my friends. A withdrawn human fighter/druid.
MikeK Tuesday November 19th, 2002 2:38:12 PM
I have read this and am currently getting Trellus 'sun faced' at the Red Wyrm Inn.
--sun faced is a good one.
Mikey Tuesday November 19th, 2002 4:48:30 PM
My apologies... Inbetween struggling with my character idea and doing midterms I've had little time to actually put keys to keyboard, or pen to paper.
Anuk Tuesday November 19th, 2002 11:15:03 PM
"Oh, man, I do remember brother Quelon...he had his warp up for a week after that! Kam, thanks for aiming trouble at Trellus for once intead of me."
"As for my arm, well...you remember how I just showed up about three years ago? The thing is, I don't exactly know how I got here. The place I come from isn't around here. It's called Floating City. I had a little trouble once that resulted in this," Anuk points to his withered hand, "and I made an enemy. A wizard, of sorts. Stupidly, I was out alone and I ran into him. We began to argue when he suddenly started an incantation. I got dizzy for a moment...I remember there was a lot of blue light...and the next thing I knew, I was standing in grass that towered over my head. I didn't even know there was such a thing!"
MikeDidThis Tuesday November 19th, 2002 11:16:02 PM
Yep. I've read it too.
Scott Wednesday November 20th, 2002 12:17:50 AM
Working away!
BigTim aka Milo Wednesday November 20th, 2002 10:20:57 AM
yup anthony, i read it.
and don't think me a fuddy duddy. (shut up kevin) if i don't get into all this slang [Edited by CDM Jerry], considering most of what's being said i dont have the faintest idea whats being said.
Kevin Wednesday November 20th, 2002 11:30:46 AM
O.K. Just out of curiousity, how many animals are with us? I have two spiders.
Big tim is an [edited by CDM Jerry] Any others?
Trellus Wednesday November 20th, 2002 12:47:03 PM
"'Floating City'. Dude, that is totally shadow."
Trellus' kid sister, Jenny, shows up and demands to go swimming.
