Hi everyone,
I'm Mike South and I'll be playing Anuk Greyhand, a ranger. I'm looking forward to playing with you.
Jecoby Wednesday November 13th, 2002 11:52:27 PM
ok I have primary done just need to post it.
Scott Thursday November 14th, 2002 1:23:04 AM
Hey there everybody. I wonder what everybody(mainly Anthony) was planning for our reason for being a pack. I, as a bard was thinking it would be kinda neat if we were all a secret society that met to tell stories. As it is verboten, it seems like a natural thing for us hot headed kids to gravitate to. I am currently sneaking out of town query travelers before they hit town to get STORIES OF THE WIDE WOLD from them. I hope this is the right place to talk of such things cuz I think its shady!
Mikey Thursday November 14th, 2002 2:36:02 AM
Greetings all. Here, I'm going to be playing Jacob Connell, a half-elven youth working as a rancher. Probably be a fighter/ranger, who likes a bit of trouble and enjoys good company, but can be quite quick tempered. The secret society story might work, especially if it was a drinking or joke-telling party. Jake is somewhat the easygoing type who can be talked into doing just about anything fun.
Anthony Thursday November 14th, 2002 9:33:25 AM
Normaly Ill post in the morning. As for the reason, you all met in school and like each other OK, the reasons you stick together, that can be anyhting. Think of it like a gang / club at a prep school. But you guys arent bullys. A pack is really just a group of kinds that hang out together, but in a deadly place like thins they get a little closer than normal as well as some of you are foundlings and have no other family.
BigTim Thursday November 14th, 2002 11:05:40 AM
Iīll be playing Milo, your lovable Halfling Wizard/Cook. give you a bit of background on him. he loves cooking more than wizardry, and hopes one day to combine the two in something useful and exciting. as long as you all have known him, he has always smelled like cookies, except of course when we all played hard. his specialty in cooking will be desserts, but he is rather accomplished in anything else he cooks, as all of you have undoubtedly of seen and tasted, being that we all have known each other for quite some time.
Kevin, Iīm up for the beer. matter of fact, iīm honestly thinking about bringing a 6 pack saturday night. iīm sure Jerryīs gonna love that. havenīt had a beer since that stix concert 1 1/2 years ago.

MikeK:Trellus Thursday November 14th, 2002 1:39:43 PM
Hey all.
I'll be Trellus, Cleric of Domi. We'll find out what he's like as soon as he's approved.
Sterlin Thursday November 14th, 2002 3:47:13 PM
Sterlin walks through the tall grass as he always does this time of day, contemplating and just being aware of his connection with this beautiful place.
Anuk Thursday November 14th, 2002 7:59:48 PM
Anuk sits with his journal and tries once more to draw the mighty Great Ranthom. "Can't seem to get the rollers right," he sighs to himself.
Jecoby Thursday November 14th, 2002 10:03:35 PM
Calim Russale will always be in the mood for a good story or two as long as there is a game of cards to be had (of course someone has to have a deck as he is not aloud to anymore).
Mikey Friday November 15th, 2002 2:09:31 AM
How amusing! I played a halfling necromancer named Milo. He was also enthusiastic about cooking. But he got killed by an ogre in a single hit. I hate playing first level guys.
Scott Friday November 15th, 2002 2:48:35 AM
Kam (my bard) thinks that a weaver pack like ours should have a really wax name. Someting like "the grass cutters" or the "shade walkers" or something like that.
ooc: Lingo is cool!
Trellus Friday November 15th, 2002 8:15:23 AM
"Dudes, 'Waxed Shadows' would be the night soil for a name."
Trellus finds a local farmer in need and spends the day energetically indulging in labor intensive tasks.
Anthony Friday November 15th, 2002 9:19:05 AM
Im so proud you all read the slang!!!!!!
Ok why dont you all start spilling all the secrects and what your good at. A pack that has know each other for a while knows how to scrap together too.
Trellus Friday November 15th, 2002 10:05:13 AM
Trellus is a Cleric of Domi. He's your standard combat medic, who happily joins melee with his mace, and then just as happily fixes everyone up.
1/day he can add a +3(his level) bonus to one person's next save roll. Could be handy.
He's also got a high Spellcraft, so is useful in figuring out magic effects.
He uses SPIRITUAL WEAPON if he absolutely has to go missile combat, and a crossbow if he runs out of spells. But, since he's pretty lousy with the missile fire, he avoids it.
Trellus also squirrels away healing potions and helpful scrolls. So he may have what you're looking for.
Sterlin Friday November 15th, 2002 10:49:22 AM
Sterlin sits on the ground in the grass, playing with the cat sized spider he refers to as Ezra. " Grasscutters, did you hear that Ezra? We'll have words with any grass cutters won't we? "
Anthony Friday November 15th, 2002 11:03:42 AM
Kevin "Ezra" isnt well liked in town but hes tolirated, hes a bit creepy. Why cant you get a dog or a cat or something normal.
Milo Friday November 15th, 2002 11:33:43 AM
Walking up to the rest of the gang, holding an odd looking twig in his hands, and a smile across his face, Milo energetically shows everyone.
"Look guys, look and see what my folks gave me as a going away present." He waves around a twig, thicker than normal, and bent in odd shapes until from one end to the other is 8 inches. "Look, it is a magic wand, when I say the correct word," (he doesn't say it), "out shoots a magic missile, and by what my parents told me, I can do it 50 times."
Placing it in between his tunic and belt, Milo also explains, "Gamma and Pappa also gave me a one person skiff, complete with a sail. That way I can put all my cooking stuff plus some of your stuff on it so our travels through the grass will be easier on us.
Excitedly, Milo awaits the rest of the group to show up and late comers, he shows them the things he has as well. As well, he passes out cookies to everyone (applesauce with a hint of nutmeg).
Kevin Friday November 15th, 2002 2:26:23 PM
Because I'm not the normal kind of guy, Anthony
Anuk Friday November 15th, 2002 9:30:07 PM
"Shady, Milo. Thanks!" Anuk eats his cookie while he studies Ezra and tries to figure out how to draw him.
Anuk likes animals. REALLY likes 'em. In fact he can't think of a better way to spend an afternoon than tracking something big that could possibly kill him, just to study it and draw a picture of it in his journal. He's filled four books already, and is making progress on his fifth.
Of course, to do that, you've gotta be sneaky. Anuk can move quietly as a blind swallow in flight when he needs to. He's not bad at hiding either. He can also get an arrow off pretty quickly when the need arises.
Now if only he'd take that damn glove off his arm once in a while...
Sterlin Saturday November 16th, 2002 3:13:32 PM
" Anyone seen any very large grasshoppers? Ezra is hungry."
Scott(Kam) Saturday November 16th, 2002 3:14:38 PM
Kam is as good at getting out of trouble as he is at getting into it. Usually with one of you guys. But the plans always sound so good...
He likes to shoot bows with Anuk, when they were younger Kam talked him into shooting fruit out of each others hands? Kam still has the scars on his palm. Again, it seemed like such a great idea at the time.
While working off one of his many punishments, he is able to keep the mood up during the work by telling jokes or funny stories or just getting everybody to sing along with him.
The most important thing to remember is that life with Kam is never dull. He may not have the best thought out plans, but they sure are fun!
Kevin Sunday November 17th, 2002 4:04:03 PM
you missed it anthony. sunday night we all fought against steven. we nearly killed him until he sold his soul to satan and then he ended up killing himself.
Anthony Monday November 18th, 2002 10:07:13 AM
Kevin did you send me Ezras stats in your sheet?
Trellus Monday November 18th, 2002 11:17:42 AM
Trellus volunteers to help harverst some Purple Grass, and spends the day cheerfully engaged in backbreaking labor.
Kevin Monday November 18th, 2002 2:28:50 PM
I thought I did Anthony, but I can send it again
MikeK Monday November 18th, 2002 2:34:15 PM
Trellus just invented another slang. Knot your threads/knotted thread - Drunk
(See Clangden in RWI for a good example)
Is Trellus the only one using the slang? Cause I think I'm about to have to come up with a reason why.
Calim Monday November 18th, 2002 2:49:54 PM
Calim is good at running his mouth, making outrageous bets, taking care of "busnies" with his rapiers or fists. Everyone has noticed that he is equally skilled with both hands and boasts about that skill to any would be opponents (as he is slashing them down). He does have one weakness he can't back down from a chalenge willingly (no matter the odds)
BigTim aka Clangden aka Milo Monday November 18th, 2002 3:19:19 PM
to Calim: in regards to not backing down. if we say run in combat, and you choose not to. get your other character ready to be played, cuz in the grass, we canīt kill everything.
Mike: donīt take Clangden personally, most newcomers to the game get thrown up on them by him eventually. thatīs my way of saying welcome to the board. if you havenīt been urped on by Clangden, you aint worthy.
Kevin: you aint worthy.
Anthony Monday November 18th, 2002 4:54:17 PM
Sure Mike! Change the feat and resend me the sheet.
Tim has a point guys please remember that.... Not every battle you face is one you can win. Running in this game does not make you a coward, it might make you smart. REMBER there are NO Safetys on in this game.
Anuk Monday November 18th, 2002 7:11:23 PM
Anuk grins as he remembers the little arrow contest he and Kam had a few years back. It makes him think back, and while everyone is gathered outside of Rattledam, he decides to share his story.
"You guys are my pack -- can you keep a secret?" he asks. He slowly removes the large glove covering his right arm, to reveal a pale, gray, withered hand that looks like it belongs on an ancient lich, not a 17 year old boy. "I'm not from around here..."
Kam Tuesday November 19th, 2002 1:35:18 AM
Kam gasps in surprise while the fear on his face quickly turns to curiosity then outrage.
"Hey, I can't believe you never told us the story behind that! I bet it's wax! What happened? I'll bet you got it lopped off and had to get a zombie arm sewn on to replace it; or maybe you touched an ancient artifact and it just sucked the reeds right out of you, or maybe..." He trails off with a longing look in his eyes.
"Come on Anuk, cut it to us true. You know we're the night soil. Now that you mention it I have a secret too. Trellus, remember that time you got in trouble for serving the monks glassed up fruit? Well, that was my fault. I soaked them all night and then put them back in your pantry. I just wanted to see those guys lighten up a bit. How was I to know brother Quelon would get so sick? Who ever heard of someone who couldn't drink Glass? I just knew I'd be thrown out for sure if had I cut the truth, with that grass shed incident still fresh in everyone's mind I was on last thread. But it was fun to watch those beaters get all sun faced, right?"
This is followed by that infectious grin that alternately serves as the reason to do something as well as the excuse for why it was done.
"Well, I know I feel better now. If we are really going to be a pack, we should all spill something, I don't want any brightness among us."
Kevin Tuesday November 19th, 2002 8:30:24 AM
Tim, if worthiness is declared by vomit, then I choose to be unworthy.
Sterlin Tuesday November 19th, 2002 8:34:03 AM
" Lets see. Something about me you all might know. I am obsessed with spiders and grass. I walk for hours alone in the tall grass of the plains sometimes, becoming one with the plains. Lost in the middle of the Sargrass Plains, where many fear, I am at peace. "
Trellus Tuesday November 19th, 2002 10:26:11 AM
To Kam: "Dude! I had chamber pot duty for a month!.....but, that was a totally waxed pick.
"Everyone knows Walker Sterlin is weft and web with the spiders. Any reason why?
"And I gotta hear this weave with the shady arm, Anuk.
"Me, I got an adopted brother, Danner, who weaves about how the sunbaked Raiders ripped his reeds. And his pack's... Some weaver's gonna have to totally cut those white handed treadles.
His stories... well... you dudes ever wonder about the Outside?"
Anthony Tuesday November 19th, 2002 11:49:10 AM
you guys make me smile I worked for 3 weeks on the slang alone.

James Tuesday November 19th, 2002 2:22:43 PM
Sorry for the hold-up on my end. I have read this and be getting that character to you ASAP.
By the way, I will be playing Gilan DeKasparl EnVosh or just Gilan to my friends. A withdrawn human fighter/druid.
MikeK Tuesday November 19th, 2002 2:38:12 PM
I have read this and am currently getting Trellus 'sun faced' at the Red Wyrm Inn.
--sun faced is a good one.
Mikey Tuesday November 19th, 2002 4:48:30 PM
My apologies... Inbetween struggling with my character idea and doing midterms I've had little time to actually put keys to keyboard, or pen to paper.
Anuk Tuesday November 19th, 2002 11:15:03 PM
"Oh, man, I do remember brother Quelon...he had his warp up for a week after that! Kam, thanks for aiming trouble at Trellus for once intead of me."
"As for my arm, well...you remember how I just showed up about three years ago? The thing is, I don't exactly know how I got here. The place I come from isn't around here. It's called Floating City. I had a little trouble once that resulted in this," Anuk points to his withered hand, "and I made an enemy. A wizard, of sorts. Stupidly, I was out alone and I ran into him. We began to argue when he suddenly started an incantation. I got dizzy for a moment...I remember there was a lot of blue light...and the next thing I knew, I was standing in grass that towered over my head. I didn't even know there was such a thing!"
MikeDidThis Tuesday November 19th, 2002 11:16:02 PM
Yep. I've read it too.
Scott Wednesday November 20th, 2002 12:17:50 AM
Working away!
BigTim aka Milo Wednesday November 20th, 2002 10:20:57 AM
yup anthony, i read it.
and don't think me a fuddy duddy. (shut up kevin) if i don't get into all this slang [Edited by CDM Jerry], considering most of what's being said i dont have the faintest idea whats being said.
Kevin Wednesday November 20th, 2002 11:30:46 AM
O.K. Just out of curiousity, how many animals are with us? I have two spiders.
Big tim is an [edited by CDM Jerry] Any others?
Trellus Wednesday November 20th, 2002 12:47:03 PM
"'Floating City'. Dude, that is totally shadow."
Trellus' kid sister, Jenny, shows up and demands to go swimming.
"Later, dudes. Gotta wash the piggie."
Calim Wednesday November 20th, 2002 2:32:06 PM
**Chuckles to himself**
I see the family resemblance with Trellus. Just be thankfull Jenny didn't want all of us to go wallow with her. **smiles broadly** Though if she were just a little older maybe a mud bath would do me good!
OOC I will send in stuff soon sorry for the hold up people. I am looking forward to this game as well!
BigTim Wednesday November 20th, 2002 3:28:27 PM
don't forget to count yourself in the animal count there Kevin, you're the biggest animal i know.
and the dumbest.
8)
BigTim Wednesday November 20th, 2002 3:52:01 PM
you all probably think that me and Kevin hate each other. it's the farthest thing from the truth. (kiss off Kevin) actually, in the Local game, Kevin plays a Minotaur Psychic warrior and I play a Halfling Rogue who, when we have to move over great distances, sits on top of his backpack, leaning on his horns. only friends would do that to each other.
well, that and ..... (promised Kevin I wouldn't tell anyone)
Kevin Wednesday November 20th, 2002 8:15:14 PM
Also, having a rogue who is as good with a crossbow as stanky on your shoulder is like having a shoulder mounted missile weapon that fires on its own.
MikeDidThis Thursday November 21st, 2002 1:41:38 AM
Hi guys,
Just checking in tonight. It's been an incredibly long day. More from Anuk tomorrow.
Mikey Thursday November 21st, 2002 2:18:26 AM
Turned in my character's final draft. Got into a car accident. Doing a report. Love incomplete sentences. Goodnight, till tomorrow.
Scott Thursday November 21st, 2002 2:56:07 AM
Shoot, I think I missed a day! I was trying to come up with something witty but drew a blank. Oh well.
Big Tim: If you'd like I could put a fuddy duddy translation at the bottom of my posts for you :)
Trellus Thursday November 21st, 2002 10:50:52 AM
Dudes, we get into a scrape, who's weaving what pick?
Who prefers melee, who prefers missile fire, who hits the spells.
For me, its mace or spell, then missiles.

Anthony,
It's Trellus. I don't think I could pronounce Terulls ;)
Kevin Thursday November 21st, 2002 1:57:38 PM
I think the slang is being laid on a little thick. A little slang now and then adds to the feel of the game, but there is so much slang being used now, that I am beginning to feel like I am in the ghetto.
Jerry Thursday November 21st, 2002 4:35:02 PM
Looks like things are proceding well. I wish you all long life and great adventure!
"ARRRGGHHHH ... huh huh huh ... GRRASUUGGHH!!" chop chop chop swish swish swish.
Everyone can make out an open trail forming in the tall grass. The growls and grunts of rage and anger assault your ears.
Suddenly a large and bulky half-orc comes chopping his way through the grass. The eye of Gargul, on his buckler, glows bright with a hot white light with every yell.
Once through the grass and in the clearing, Grymash slowly begins to calm down. Kneeling down on one knee and bracing himself with his orc double axe he bellows, "Sometime Grymash really hate GRASS!!!"
James Thursday November 21st, 2002 5:22:46 PM
Gilan has a black wolf companion. He also prefers missile or spells/melee, a lot of it depends on the situation though. I would also agree on the slang, a little is ok but a lot is just too much. Unless it is true for your character and then keep up the good work.
Getting my character outfitted in the Catacombs, so will have a finished 1st character to you I hope by tomorrow Anthony.
Sterlin Thursday November 21st, 2002 6:11:50 PM
A look of horror comes over Sterlin's face. To the half-orc he screams, " What the frag are you doing? Look behind you at all the grass that has now needlessly fallen to the ground. You are a beast below the level of sentient beings. You are like an idiot fool who destroys an entire ancient forest so that he may lay his ignorant head under a wooden roof which cries of murder. I should entangle your throat with the very grass which you have cut. "
Anuk Thursday November 21st, 2002 10:31:35 PM
When Anuk gets in a scrape, he prefers to use is bow first, and then a longsword in one hand and a short sword in the other.
Anthony Thursday November 21st, 2002 11:59:21 PM
James, we might want to talk about your animal friend. A black wolf is not native to the plains and will be more of a hinderance than a help. Plus he will be a REAL odity... There are other . . . Things avaliable if you like
Scott(Kam) Friday November 22nd, 2002 1:22:23 AM
Kam is more of a lover than a fighter. No, really. I hate to be in the support/bow bunch with everyone I have seen so far, but Kam works much better when no one is shoving sharp things at him. He will help with his bow, with morale, and with a spell here and there, but rolling around in the dirt with someone is really not his thing. Hope that helps!
Jake Friday November 22nd, 2002 2:25:34 AM
Resting his feet on an empty chair, Jake sits back, whistling lowly at the tension in the air as Grymash makes his entrance and Stern Sterlin rebuttals him. "Now, now, ah say, calm down Grymash," drawls the dusty haired half-elf. "Surely, y'are usedta tha grass. 'Sides, the grass gives shade, makes rope, provides cover, an' jus' about everythin' we need to thrive." The easy going slug-raiser casually tosses Grymash one of the halfling chef's cookies. "Now, see here, Sterlin," he starts again, a bit of seriousness creeping into his voice. "Just 'cause some of us ain't as weavin' nature as you ain't no reason to toss insults or threaten. Sufferance, an' clemency, that's the way ya should act to yer friends and fellow man, right? Besides, ah can't imagine anyone who cares for the grass so much as ya. Tha grass just keeps on growing, faster 'n ya can count. 'Sides, everyday, farmers cut the grass ta make their houses, for bread, dye, or for our lovely liquor." Throughout this, his voice, maintaining that musical slow drawl, is puncuated by occasional munching of a sugar cookie. He doesn't seem to take the fighting seriously, and maintains his unobtrusive, relaxed position.
Nebin Friday November 22nd, 2002 8:41:07 AM
" He was not farming my friend. He destroyed a path of possibly miles of grass, just to express his power with that blade. I have zero tolerance for such thoughtless acts. "
DM Anthony Friday November 22nd, 2002 9:54:40 AM
Before your eyes you wathc a almost natral ocourance in the plains as the path that was cut open by the careless barbarian seems to fill in with the exsisting grass. The 8 feet tall grass pulling together and becoming an almost solid wall blocking the light from the ground in a matter of hours. The only way you can see where he was at all is by the trampled grass near the bottom. Even this is being taken care of as insects of all sorts show up to feed and even a prarrie pig or two.
Trellus Friday November 22nd, 2002 10:30:15 AM
"See, Dudes, no problem. Let's all warp down, and have a cookie."
"Our Pack is totally outside anyway, with me, and Anuk, and Walker Sterlin. Big Dude here would weave right in."
Sterlin Friday November 22nd, 2002 11:10:26 AM
" O.K. I suppose in my rage, I forgot it does that. Forgive me for my explosion, my barbarian friend, but you really should be a bit more respectful. "
Grymash Friday November 22nd, 2002 12:12:42 PM "HUH!! Me thought druids call grass ... uh a blight on the land! That why there is druid trees ... right?!" The confused half-orc scratches his head.
"Any way ... hee hee ... Grymash was only giving back the fruits that land has given Grymash (rubbing his belly)!! Then me get lost in tall grass ... Grymash got mad!! Not mean to raise such a stink .... oh, hee hee!!" Grymash begins to laugh at his own joke.
(sniff sniff) "COOKIES!!"
Milo Friday November 22nd, 2002 12:53:00 PM
entering the room with a large platter of cookies and a pitcher of chilled milk, Milo eyes the half orc. rolling his eyes, he sets the platter and pitcher down and turns, heading back into the kitchen yelling: MOMMMMMMM, Gry is here, break out the emergency rations.
after about 10 minutes, Milo reemerges with a heaping platter of muffins. setting them on the table where Grymash is, and quickly removing his arms and hands, knowing, if they aren't gone fast, they could end up in his belly.
Milo then goes, and sits next to Trellus. And pulls out his travelling spellbook, making sure everything is in the right place.
Anuk Friday November 22nd, 2002 5:44:01 PM
"Ooh! Muffins!" Anuk munches slowly and wonders where in the Wold Ezra went. "Sterlin, where's your creepy little friend? I haven't finished drawing him yet."
Sterlin Friday November 22nd, 2002 8:33:05 PM
" Ezra is there. Look more closely. He and Enoch sometimes blend in a little. "
At the point in the tall grass where Sterlin points, you see nothing and then suddenly notice not one, but two of the cat sized spiders. It appears they have changed the color of their hairy skin to blend in with the natural colors of the plains.
Jake Friday November 22nd, 2002 11:59:31 PM
An intro to Jake; Jake is a somewhat easy, carefree fellow native to the plains. Nobody knows his parents; probably some elven woman, embarassed about her tryst with some human, left him at a rather poor farmer's house. He grew up at the Connell family as the only boy with five 'sisters'. Perhaps because the Connell's didn't want any unexpected grandchildren, he was gently pushed into helping out around other farms and ranches. He's a free man who typically contracts himself to work, sometimes farming the deadly grass, other times supporting himself from day to day with one job or another. Most of the time, he raises prairie pigs, the giant slugs that make a tasty treat when served by Milo or others, and it's said that he has a private, well-hidden supply of liquor made from the rare glass grass... He gets along quite well with people, and is one of those quiet but kind sorts. He tends to get along with women easily, probably from having five sisters, but despite his tremendous politeness, isn't known to chase them or give great interest to them except when drunk. Occasionally, he has been heard to use extremely large words, and some suspect that he is smarter than he looks (definitely wiser than he acts!).

Trellus Monday November 25th, 2002 2:46:14 PM
Dudes, we need to weave some plans.
Say we get into a scrape with a dozen Raiders, standard fight.
Me and Gry go to melee. Anuk, Gilan, and Kam are working missile fire. Milo is weaving his shady spells.
Jake? Calim? Sterlin? What's your favorite pick?
Milo Monday November 25th, 2002 4:18:43 PM
what's up with all of you, thinking the only way to solve a dilema is through brute force. it's a good thing one of us uses his brain.
(zip it, Sterlin)
Grymash Monday November 25th, 2002 4:28:18 PM "Who Melee ... is she pretty!!??"
Sterlin Monday November 25th, 2002 6:31:20 PM
" I don't seek conflict for mere pleasure. "
Anuk Monday November 25th, 2002 7:47:21 PM
"Sterlin, where are they? I don't se...oh. Shady." Anuk begins to scribble furiously with his pen.
Calim Monday November 25th, 2002 8:02:22 PM
Calim Usually goes into slice and dice mode but will probably go into defense mode to protect the *smarter more pious/arcanely advanced of the bunch
Gilan Monday November 25th, 2002 9:46:35 PM
Gilan walks into the small open area and nods to his pack. "How goes it today?" Buzzing around him are a pair of very enthusiastic wasps. "I see that someone was chopping down the grass again."
He takes a seat leaning against a rock and holds up his hand. The two wasps lightly land on it and he looks to them for a few before they fly off. A smile plays across his face as he pulls out his flute and starts a merry little tune that soon has him tapping a foot lazily.
He stops long enough to look around the clearing and frown. "What no more cookies??"
(OOC: Had to change my companion, so now I have a pair of wasps instead.)
Anthony Tuesday November 26th, 2002 11:52:44 AM
ok.... looks like Kevin is changin characters to a bard..... Is that 3 now?
Anuk Tuesday November 26th, 2002 1:22:09 PM
"So, aside from pranks on the monks, what do we do for fun around here?"
Trellus Tuesday November 26th, 2002 1:31:13 PM
Dudes, we could bet on what day one of Sterlin's spiders eats one of Gilan's wasps.
Gilan Tuesday November 26th, 2002 1:40:54 PM
Gilan looks to Trellus and gives him a deep frown. "That is not really that funny." He pulls up a small bag and tosses it to Sterlin. A smile spreads out on his face as he looks back to Trellus. "Besides...that little bag of grasshoppers should suffice to keep them safe."
He glances to Sterlin and nods to him as he goes back to playing his flute.
Jake Tuesday November 26th, 2002 2:18:47 PM
"Ah tend ta fit in wherever we're devoid. Ah prefer a good tumble myself, but blood is better avoided. Why, wasted blood is like water on the grass; it attracts predators from miles aroun'." Jake has a whip at his side, a crossbow and dagger on the other side, and wears quite prominently a bastard sword on his back. Obviously, he's a diverse sort.
Sterlin Tuesday November 26th, 2002 3:11:19 PM
"Thanks for the grasshoppers, I'm sure my two friends will enjoy them."
Jecoby Tuesday November 26th, 2002 7:15:34 PM
OOC: So what do we have in our group class wise now? I am a fighter what is everyone else?
Kevin Tuesday November 26th, 2002 9:00:27 PM
I'm a druid on his way to becoming a plainswalker.
James(aka Gilan) Tuesday November 26th, 2002 9:32:45 PM
I am a fighter/druid currently. I have no idea if I am going to try for a prestige class or not.
Milo Hilltopple Wednesday November 27th, 2002 10:19:00 AM
i'm a halfling wizard who thinks he's a chef.
on his way to being the wold's very first arcane chef (prestige class)
Trellus Wednesday November 27th, 2002 12:46:01 PM
Dudes, I'm a cleric of Domi. Currently not planning on a prestige class.
Grymash Wednesday November 27th, 2002 12:50:50 PM
Grymash is a mixed bag. Part of him is wild and unpredictible. Prone to rage but laughter as well. Grymash walks the land with long wide strides and seems at home wherever it is wild. He handles his weapons with a stone-cold precision of a trained combatant. He also has a strong devoution to his god and wears his symbols of Gargul with pride. Grymash's short silent prayer before gobbling down hand fulls of muffins gives testiment to that.
(Barbarian1/Fighter1/Cleric1)
Kevin Wednesday November 27th, 2002 2:07:41 PM
So when do we get started?
Anuk Wednesday November 27th, 2002 10:34:41 PM
I'm a human ranger with a tendency to try to get up close and personal with some of the larger animals of the plains. Don't wanna kill 'em, necessarily, but I like getting a good look at 'em.
Kevin Thursday November 28th, 2002 9:16:13 AM
Happy Thanksgiving Everyone
Jake Thursday November 28th, 2002 1:13:16 PM
Jake is slightly a ranger, but more a fighter. He's quite hot-tempered at times. In combat, if trying to disable, he'll use a whip to trip people, or a combo bastard sword/whip to trip and disable many. He also can use the longbow, pretty well.
Trellus Thursday November 28th, 2002 8:38:12 PM
Dudes, have a totally shady Thanksgiving.
Milo Friday November 29th, 2002 11:11:11 AM
dropkicks Trellus into learning to speak normal common.
we don't speak ecommon round here.
Trellus Friday November 29th, 2002 2:24:49 PM
Common's boring.
Trellus leaves to help some foundlings with their fall cleaning.
Grymash Saturday November 30th, 2002 12:04:47 AM "Why you say DUDE so much? There word in orc that mean DUDE. It be DUH!!"
Turning his eyes to the sky and scratching his chin. "Duh... common is boring!"
(in orc) "duH, toH tlhIngan Hol DajatlhlaH 'e' commuN'!"
Sterlin Saturday November 30th, 2002 11:17:20 AM
Feeds his spiders living fat grasshoppers.
Trellus Saturday November 30th, 2002 11:38:02 AM
Trellus gives the half orc a bright smile, "Just being me, Big Dude. Just being me."
Anthony Sunday December 1st, 2002 11:36:29 AM
Ok a few things to prepare you all for the adventures in the plains.
1) Unless I say there is a species of Insect or animal present dont assume there is. In fact there are no grasshoppers. (They would attempt to eat the grass and the grass wouldn't like that. Right now you know of The Rapke, Bonuders, Ranthom, Pigs, Swallows, Heard rumors of the Sarg Moth but never seen one, Large Spiders, Large Wasps, and a Nat/Misquito insect taht stings and can "smell" open water for over 4 miles away, it travles in swarms and has lots of names.
2) Remember that the plains are full of grass. When walking or travling through the grass you are at 1/2 movement and I wonder what the effects of using big weapons would be????
Trellus Sunday December 1st, 2002 1:05:18 PM
How available are druid woods 'boats'?
Kevin Sunday December 1st, 2002 2:13:07 PM
Does my Druid ability, Woodland Stride, apply here? The ability states I am not impeded by overgrown areas.
Scott(Kam) Sunday December 1st, 2002 2:37:08 PM
Kam is a Bard all the way. Singing, dancing, all that jazz. Not much of a straight up fighter(he uses knives) But he is very good with a bow and can use spells to ruin some badguys plan.
Anthony Monday December 2nd, 2002 9:51:44 AM
Kevin if you are a plains druid then it works here but not outsides the pains, if you are a normal druid it will work everywhere else but here.
The wood for those boats is VERY, VERY, VERY expensive. Milo got a hell of a deal.
Forgot another animal that you all know about.
Harvester Ants. They are ants about the size of your thumb. The worker and warrior caste have solid, razor shaprp penciers that can take a finger off.
Milo Monday December 2nd, 2002 10:40:49 AM
yeah, i got a hell of a deal. and there isn't any room, it's full of supplies and cooking stuff. 8)
Trellus Monday December 2nd, 2002 11:39:23 AM
Trellus wanders over to the Trader's Docks to see if he can get in any strenuous excercise.
"Gotta weave on the biceps, dudes. I'm getting a bit flabby."
Kevin Monday December 2nd, 2002 12:59:10 PM
Well, I am specifically a sargrass plains druid, so I guess anywhere else I will just be hindered. Makes sense, goes along with my magic being strong here and weak anywhere else.
Anuk Monday December 2nd, 2002 4:42:56 PM
"Man, I _really_ want to see one of those sarg moths."
Anthony Tuesday December 3rd, 2002 10:26:02 AM
I thinnk were about ready. I need to check on two things but I think were almost ready to begin.
BigTim Tuesday December 3rd, 2002 11:20:30 AM
it's about time. Milo had to try killing a dwarf in the RWI just to keep from going insane.
Trellus Tuesday December 3rd, 2002 12:41:09 PM
Total shadows, DM Dude. I can't wait to weave my waxed picks and warp up my whole pack with my shady slang.
Kevin Tuesday December 3rd, 2002 2:29:00 PM
I believe Trellus thinks he is slim shady.
BigTim Tuesday December 3rd, 2002 4:24:12 PM
i believe you are right there, Kevin. wonder how shady he's gonna be when someone refuses to heal him or back him up until he learns proper common.
MikeK Tuesday December 3rd, 2002 4:58:56 PM
Geez, Whata bunch of grumps.
When/If Trellus dies, I promise my next character will be a quiet, brooding loner like everyone else.
MikeDidThis Tuesday December 3rd, 2002 5:40:10 PM
I might brood, but I try not to be quiet about it ;-)
Grymash Tuesday December 3rd, 2002 5:55:33 PM
Grymash isnt brooding or quiet. He makes loud boisterous noises out of both ends ... um expressing his joy for simple pleasures!! :)
"COME ON ... pull me FINGER!! hee hee"
Kevin Tuesday December 3rd, 2002 9:15:54 PM
We're just giving you a hard time mike. All in fun. You see how Tim (the big dumb ox) and I insult each other. It is all very nonserious.
BigTim Wednesday December 4th, 2002 11:09:21 AM
yeah, what Kevin said.....HEY, i aint no ox you big poopoo head.
Anthony Wednesday December 4th, 2002 11:21:32 AM
waitin for my thumbs up
Grymash thumbs up!! Wednesday December 4th, 2002 11:56:40 AM "OK ... pull me THUMB!! hee hee"
Milo Wednesday December 4th, 2002 12:01:20 PM
if anything, Grymash there is an Ox!
Trellus Wednesday December 4th, 2002 12:30:09 PM
Dude! Ready to go!
Kevin Wednesday December 4th, 2002 2:18:48 PM
o.k. I'm ready for the thumbs up
Grymash Wednesday December 4th, 2002 2:45:17 PM
The expression on Grymash's face turns perturbed and perplexed, "OX!! Ox not strong as GRYMASH!! Ox is pretty though!!"
Sterlin Wednesday December 4th, 2002 2:47:28 PM
Sterlin raises his thumb into the air.
Milo Wednesday December 4th, 2002 3:26:39 PM
raises both his thumbs, and those of the ox, grymash.
Grymash Wednesday December 4th, 2002 4:24:41 PM "Pull Thumb!!"
Anuk Wednesday December 4th, 2002 5:46:07 PM
Anuk gives one thumb up, and uses the other to help hold his nose. "Whooeee, Grymash...what in Gargul's name did you eat?!"
Jake Thursday December 5th, 2002 1:27:55 AM
::Gives the thumbs up, and, having predicted Grymash's movement, has currently applied a clip to his nose so that he cannot smell a thing.::
OOC: I'm currently buried in finals papers and stuff, but it should be better by this weekend.
Calim Thursday December 5th, 2002 1:46:00 AM
Thumbs up here. Looking forward to it.
Anthony Thursday December 5th, 2002 9:15:15 AM
waiting for 2 more
Gilan Thursday December 5th, 2002 8:27:37 PM
Sorry about that. Gives his thumbs up as well. I am still seeing two computer screens here.
Anthony Friday December 6th, 2002 9:48:12 AM
One more
Anthony Friday December 6th, 2002 9:48:49 AM
If we dont see them by Tonight i will post the begining of the module this weekend.
Milo Friday December 6th, 2002 10:21:01 AM
Anthony, tell us the name of the interloper who's keeping us from starting. that way we all can give him/her heck.
BigTim Friday December 6th, 2002 11:20:41 AM
Anthony, My email address has changed, its: Clangden_Milo@hotmail.com
if you would be so kind, let the other players know it too?
Thanks
MikeDidThis Friday December 6th, 2002 6:55:30 PM
Looking forward to seeing the beginning of the module! In the meantime, I still gotta get my characters into the AR.
Anthony, I won a potion in the L&B a couple of weeks ago...do I need to send an updated character sheet to you?
Scott(Kam) Friday December 6th, 2002 8:51:24 PM
Thumbs up? Sorry guys, I will pay my cable bill on time in the future!
Kevin Sunday December 8th, 2002 4:19:13 PM
Alright. Lets get started.
BigTim-Milo Sunday December 8th, 2002 8:03:15 PM
hey Kevin, can Milo ride on your back like stanky does with apoth? (grin) kev, im a level 2 deepwood sniper now with stanky, his crossbow does x3 crit mod now ) on a 15-20 that is. attack with the crossbow is 28/23/18 at 30' or more 29/24/19 at 30' or less
for you people scratching your head. Stanky is my halfling Fighter/Rogue in the saturday night game here in Texas. level 5 Warrior level 7 Rogue level 2 Deepwood Sniper (prestige class)
never has he ever used a melee weapon in the game,(has a 7 str), will take the attack of opportunity with his crossbow. of course, he's got a 37 ac, 41 with haste (grin)
