Sly Foxx and Luke
Wednesday February 19th, 2003 7:53:57 PM

As sly walks up to the guard and let's him peace bind his weapons. He opend his money pouch, takes out 2 silver coins, handing them to the older guard the tells him "I'll make sure that my Minotaur Friend here will behave our selves. Here is 2 silver piece one for me and one for him. As for our business we want a nice bath, Asoft bed, A nice hot meal that I didn't cook and of course a visit to the fixers of Alimi. Then we'll see as to where the wind blows" when the guard gives his 'go ahead' Sly, Shiraz and Luke enter the town. "Alright! Whitch Inn do we go to now?"

Shiraz
Wednesday February 19th, 2003 10:16:23 PM

"I WILL NOT PAY!" Shiraz thunders. the short hairs on his neck standing on end. "Enough of this town and its disrespect, I show you honor, respect and friendship and this is how you repay me?!" Shiraz stands up to his full height of eight foot and quickly draws his 2 bastard swords,"Bind me and mine, you will not, I am Shiraz the minotaur and these are my friends. By Imod's hammer I will fall before this town insults me again."

Savin
Thursday February 20th, 2003 12:35:34 AM

Savin slides up to Shiraz and say, "Peace my mighty friend. Something is not right here. We should be recognized. The town is to quickly repaired. I wonder if we spent longer in the shadows than we originally thought. Lower your weapons and lets discover and answer to this mystery. Besides the guard is only following his orders and you chopping off his head will most likely leave his family poor orphans living on the street. You wouldn't want that on your conscience would you." Savin says his little speech loud enough for the guards to hear.

Ilsidur
Thursday February 20th, 2003 5:57:27 PM

Ilsidur slides up on the other side of Shiraz, and places his hand gently on the minotaur's arm. "Hold friend. As Savin says, these two are only doing their job, even if they are being a little overzealous at it. Let's head into town, and find out what is going on. Sly has already paid your way, so there is no reason to argue about the cost, is there? And do you plan to use those swords here at the gate, or in town? I will back you in any fight that you choose, but are you sure you want to choose this fight?"

Then Ilsidur digs a silver piece out of his pocket and pays the guard. "Here is my money, and I hope that in the future you can keep your prejudices to yourself, sir."

Hoping that Shiraz doesn't let the conflict escalate any further, Ilsidur prepares to enter the town.

[OOC: Great post, Wade! But I do need you to resolve your actions before I post the results, and move the game along as DM.]

Jurgen and Vus
Thursday February 20th, 2003 11:56:03 PM

When the town is in sight there is a spring in Jurgen's step. But when he sees the gate-guards, his mood turns slightly fowl. They were almost always a pain and costed them money. "Well, I'll go with you, but I don't feel very right about paying. So, I'll just skip on ahead." He grins chaoticly and gives Sly a wink, continuing on.

At the gate, Jurgen does little in the way of acknowledge them. In fact, he just turns to away from the guards and gets down to pet Vus.

"Well, we saved their town, I think we deserve to skip their silly fee... So lets-" Shiraz's boom, cuts him off and Jurgen's attention immidiately is focused on his Taur companion. He was causing quite a problem, regardless of whether Jurgen and Vus moved forward.

"Curse you, friend..." He speaks just beneath his breath. Then he begins to cast a spell, just hidden[hopefully] from the sight of the guards.

[Major Image - Spell Save DC: 16, Providing the rules for illusions]

Fifty feet away from where the guards are keeping the group pre-occupied, on the city side, a rather wealthy looking man springs into being. He seems to be blood stained and his well made clothes are torn. Any who get close enough can smell fresh blood and even see it fall to the ground, making small splashes. The man begins, as soon as he comes into being that is, runs straight for the guards. He sprints to the best of his ability.

If he arrives at the guards on time [that is, during this round] he begins to speak rapidly. "A fight... tried to murder many... barely escape! We need help!" He coughes up some blood onto his hand and appears on the edge of death. But, he tries not to allow himself to be touched. A clever ploy on Jurgen's part, since that would almost surely ruin the spell. Then, once his bit is said, he turns and starts running back. "My son... Jurgen Strumjager... Is still there! Help him please!" He yells, and cries at the same time, going again as fast as he can.

Shiraz
Friday February 21st, 2003 11:17:57 AM

With Savin on one side of him and Ilsidur on the other Shiraz manages to at least sheath his swords, arms still trembling with rage, the minotaur allows the guards to peace bond his weapons. Shiraz then enters the town just as the man runs up to the gate.

Sir Thomas
Saturday February 22nd, 2003 9:44:57 AM

Being quite offended himself, Thomas pulls enough money to cover the entry fee and drops the coins into the mud/dirt. "You should know that we are the Children of Chaos, and we have done many wonderous works for this town. We are pure of heart and mean no ill will to any ... not even an evil dragon who used to be called Tumult. Your town's reputation for being polite is not a good one, and you have upheld that. I suggest you check your prejudice before you come to work next time, they can only cause trouble anyway."

Thomas just begins to enter the town with his friends when a blood stained man comes running up. At first Thomas is angered that his sword is bound and his ability to help this situation with it, but then the man utters the name Jurgen Strumjager and Thomas doesn't know what to think.

Thomas looks to Jurgen with a very curious look upon his face.

Trace and Radiant  d20+10=15 d20+10=19
Sunday February 23rd, 2003 12:42:11 AM

"Well well well. How have the mighty have fallen. I dont know about the rest of you but I dont plan on being insulted anymore. If this town that we have saved countless times wants to treat us in this matter then fine by me. Heck, even the stuck up mages in Hook City were better company than this. As for you two, I will not pay to enter as I am to retrive my horse and settle accounts I have outstanding in town and then big good riddance on last time to the town and never save it again. If you want you can follow me to make sure that I do what I have said but no peace bond will be set upon anything I own." Trace begins to move past the guards and a slap with the blunt of his sword on the backside of the guards will be a readied action if they move to stop him. (hit ac 15 and 19)

Sly Foxx and Luke
Sunday February 23rd, 2003 11:19:53 AM

"Ahh! Come on Big Brother! We should visit the Fixers of Alimi, and besides I have a feeling we will be needed again, that means seeing the maidens again. If not then You and I will leave this town, But You Cook." Sly will give the guards their 3gp.

Luke stands beside Sly and growls at the guards.

A chance to be heroes again? (Back-up DM Greg)
Sunday February 23rd, 2003 3:36:47 PM

As Shiraz draws his weapons and shouts his challenge to the guards, the older guard takes a firm grip on his shortspear, and steps forward, his own challenge evident on his face. But he stops short as the other members of the Southern Lights calm the minotaur down. The old guard again starts to move forward to bind the weapons, and then stops short again at Trace's challenge.

Suddenly, the younger guard reacts to what Sir Thomas says. "Wait, Sarge, they say they are the Children of Chaos! You remember, that group that knows the Fixers, and chased down those shapechanging raiders!"

The old guard looks at the party and says, "You're right, private! My apologies, fine sirs! Please realize that things have been in such a state of flux. There is no need to bind your..."

Suddenly, a bleeding man rushes up beside the gates, with his tale of a bloody fight, and maybe even a murder! Then the bleeding figure turns and runs back the other way. The old guard calls through the gates, "Lieutanant, call the gate watch! There is an attack outside the walls! Private Shenkor and I are going to see what is going on!"

He looks at the party and says, "What luck that you are here! I need your help! If you are indeed the heroes you say that you are, please come with me!" Then he and the younger guard chase off in the direction of the fleeing figure. The party can make out a number of guardsmen heading towards the gate from inside the town.

[OOC: Sorry about taking so long to post, but I really needed to see how the encounter at the gate would be dealt with by all the party before I posted.]

Sly Foxx and Luke
Sunday February 23rd, 2003 6:53:21 PM

"Well there goes our rest, come on Luke we are needed." Sly turns to the rest of the party as he cuts the binding off his sword. "Well after the Red Wyrm we just off. this should be easy."

Sly takes off after the guards "what do you mean If We Are Indeed Heroes?" And Luke is right behind him.

Savin
Monday February 24th, 2003 4:45:23 PM

Savin sprints after the man. He should easily catch him,(Unless the man is a high level monk :-)) "Sir wait! We will help out. You are injured. Let our priest heal you and then lead us to your family. It will only take a moment!"

Shiraz
Monday February 24th, 2003 9:07:30 PM

Shiraz stops abrubtly at the mans words and tears off after him down the road,"If we are heros indeed?!" Shiraz attempts to move past him and ahead of him to prevent him from getting into any danger.

Sir Thomas  d20=3
Monday February 24th, 2003 11:43:43 PM

Being thoroughly confused, Thomas decides to follow the group slowly. He wonders how fate has it that the man's son bears the same name as their friend. He wonders how one minute the group is a threat, and the next it is not. He wonders how his friends can be so insulted one minute and denounce their willingness to help those in need, and the next be off after a bloody old man to show their willingness to defend. "Life is a curious thing ..." Thomas trails off.

With the horse shoes that Pryte now wears, he and Thomas should be able to chase down the man much faster than any in the group, but instead the pair ride in a flanking maneuver to prevent everyone from being caught in some of a trap. Thomas surveys the surroundings more than the actions of the group, though he's not really sure what he should expect to find. [OOC: With the increased speed of his mount, Thomas should get a pretty good view of a lot of area before much can develop.]

[Rolled 3 + 2 WIS = 5 Spot; however, he'd probably miss a charging elephant with that roll.]

[OOC: I am waiting for Jeff to post, since the image is being controlled by Jurgen...]

Trace and Radiant
Tuesday February 25th, 2003 6:40:30 PM

Trace can only shake his head at the unfolding situation at hand. As he starts to make his way with the others he slaps Sir Thomas on the backside with his sword to get his attention. "I dont know about you but the lack of respect in this town is getting old. In fact I really shouldnt be supprised since this is how we are treated everytime we come back but none the less I still refuse to stand for it.

Jurgen and Vus
Wednesday February 26th, 2003 3:19:05 AM

Beads of sweat roll down Jurgen's face as the full realization of what he has done comes to him. They were trying to get into the city and avoid the hassel of being "mere commoners", but what had happened was just a big mess. The intention was pretty decent and worthy. There was a saying that came to Jurgen's mind... The road to the Lands of Unrest is paved with good intentions. He wanted to help and do what was right, yet managed to make a bigger blunder out of it.

There were two ways out of it. Come clean with the truth and apoligize profusely. Or...

Jurgen, thinking quickly, had the man turn to Savin with a speed unnatural to almost all of the Noble Races. The illusion looked at him, with blood stained eyes and seems filled with a horror unlike any other most normal people see. He twitches several times and then speaks quickly. He strains himself, as if trying to get out too much at once.

"Madmen! Invisible madmen walk the streets to claim their victims! My son... yes... he was mad. Madder then most. But most would say too mad for me to see his madness, or that I was too mad for my own madness to see his!" He spits as he talks, laughing and seeming to ignore what should be pain from his bloody wounds. As the others get close, he falls to the ground and looks at Savin with the pleading eyes of one who was insane. His voice, now calm and slow, is shallow. He takes deep breaths between every couple of words.

"My son... Jurgen. He died and I lost him forever. They say a dragon attacked him, while he was brave and strong and wise and powerful... Oh my son. You are gone from me. And now, I am to be taken away as well." He puts his hands to his lips and kisses them, twice. "And with a kiss," He giggles incorherently, licking his lips. "I die!"

With that last utterence of 'die' he falls limp to the ground and in a small puff of smoke, disappears. All traces of him, gone into the oblivion of nothing and even his stench has disappeared.

Meanwhile, Jurgen sends a message to Vus to send the two of them straight towards Savin. And with a brief flicker, they both disappear from the front gate and reappear next to their speedy friend.

"Who was he? What did he say?"

Savin
Wednesday February 26th, 2003 11:02:53 PM

Savin turns and prepares to defend himself from the crazy man. When the bloody individual starts to talk to him, he relaxes a little and then he listens to what the man is saying. "My son Jurgen...attacked by dragons...JURGEN!"
As the man disappears in a puff, Savin realizes something or someone is playing games.
He turns and gives Jurgen only to find the sorcerer right next to him.

He whispers, "All this to get out of paying a silver piece. You cheap son of a goat." Savin turns to the the guard running up and holds up his hands. "Sir something is strange. Either someone has cast an illusion to distract us all or I have seen some kind of spirit. Either way it is gone now. Let us pay our toll. I for one would love to buy a round of drinks."

Ilsidur
Wednesday February 26th, 2003 11:31:50 PM

Ilsidur chases after the bloody figure, hard on the heels of the guards, and the fast-moving monk. (Thank the gods for his speed-enhancing boots). Hearing Jurgen's name, he knows something is up, but not being sure what, he bides his time, hoping that nothing terrible comes out of the rapidly unfolding scenario.

Back-up DM Greg
Wednesday February 26th, 2003 11:52:44 PM

The two city guards, with the party in tow, chase after the bloody figure. Suddenly, the figure stops, turns, speaks of madness and a dead son, then disappears. The two guards stop in their tracks, stunned. They look at each other, and exchange puzzled glances, then look around at the party. The older guard says, "Well, that is most strange. Certainly beyond my ken. I need to report this to the lieutenant right away. I suggest you lot follow along, and you can back me up as witnesses. I only hope for your sakes that none of you had anything to do with that. Using magic against a city guard is a serious offence."

The guards and the party return to the gate, which is blocked by a number of city guardsmen. Also at the gate are two merchants leading a small cart and donkey, and a very strange sight: a man dressed in leather armour, with blue-tinged hair and some sort of white striping across his face. Standing behind the man is a VERY large bear, which the guardsmen are eying with some unease.

As the party arrives, a tall thin man steps forward, and says, "Report, Sergeant." The older guard details what has happened, including the almost-confrontation at the gate. A sardonic grin appears on the lieutenant's face. "Sergeant, I have warned you before to keep your prejudices to yourself. These obviously are the Children of Chaos, and they are to be treated with respect for what they have accomplished in helping our town after the Time of Change."

Then he looks over at the party and says, "Now, as for you, do any of you know anything about that 'apparition' that has caused such a commotion? The law is very clear about using magic to hinder a city guardsman in the performance of his duty." He gestures to the oddly painted man and his bear companion, "Also, would these two be with you? They certainly look like they belong with a group such as yours."

Ilsidur
Thursday February 27th, 2003 12:07:00 AM

At the gate, Ilsidur moves up beside Jurgen, and whispers, "Son, you had better come clean. What could you possibly have been thinking? You are very brave, and carry tremendous power. You need to learn very quickly how and when to use that power. You also need to learn that lies and deception to cover an error only lead to your digging a deeper hole for yourself to climb out of."

Then Ilsidur moves up to Shiraz, and says, "Shiraz, in case you haven't noticed, you are VERY different. If you are going to react with threats and violence against every petty little man that refers to that difference in a negative fashion, the rest of us are going to spend a lot of time backing you up in a lot of useless fights. And Sir Thomas and Trace, you certainly didn't help anything with your attitudes, either. If you want to be known as heroes, you may need to let your head do a little more leading, and be less led by your heart and your ego."

"Now, friends, let's hope we can settle with these guards, and get to a warm meal, a cold ale, and a comfortable bed. Savin, I'm with you."

Shiraz  d20+1=11
Thursday February 27th, 2003 8:01:41 AM

Shiraz walks back to the gate shaking his head, and slightly smiling at what he has finally figured out was an illusion by Jurgen. Not saying much until Ilsidur berates him. "Ignorance is bliss, and in this town until acts of ignorance are treated the same way you would treat a puppy who piddles on the floor, they will continue. If you have a problem with my attitude towards a town that I have faithfully protected and served that has pointed, screamed, and degraded me I am sorry but I will no longer allow the people of this town to treat me this way. If you wish to allow them to act as such to you then that is up to you. I support Trace and his anger one hundred percent in this matter as well." Shiraz walks over and stands behind Jurgen placing his hands one on each of the sorcerer's shoulders.

Sly Foxx and Luke  d20=17
Thursday February 27th, 2003 8:28:16 AM

Sly let Ilsidur vent his vieus to Jurgen, when Jurgen was about to tell the captain of the guard his story, Sly puts a hand on Jurden shoulder, "Alright, Little Brother, Where do we sleep tonight? Nice soft bed? or A hay stack in the dungon? Please make it a good story." Sly winks at Jurden.

Sly walks to where this human is standing, the half/elf (Sly) raises his hand and show his tatoo in his palm, "Hail stranger, I'm called Sly Foxx and this dog is my pet Luke, would you like to break bread with us in side? Do you have a tatoo on you? And is this beautiful BEAR with you?" To the stranger's eye, the half/elf is about 4'11" tall weight about 124lbs at the most has redish hair and his eyes emeral green, by his side is a war dog, (who is trying to decide to sniff the bear).

OOC- Sly roled a 17 for Cha.

Peerimus and Yorrick
Thursday February 27th, 2003 1:53:19 PM

The human is average height and weight, about 5'10", 170. His leather is well cared for, a beautiful polished oaken shield is on his back and a rather plain club at his side. The bear is rather enormous and wears an agate amulet on a simple leather strap about it's neck.
Peerimus turns to Sly and claspes his hands in front of his chest. With a slight bow, "A pleasure to meet you for it is you and your friends that brought me to this place. I am Peerimus and this is my friend Yorrick." At this point he reaches over and ruffles the fur of the bear around his ear. The bear grunts and cocks his head at the smaller animal then sits down.
"Your dog is quite magnificent Sly and I would greatly like to break bread with you and your other friends."

Trace and Radiant
Thursday February 27th, 2003 2:39:50 PM

"Ilsidur, my sword and ego has gotten me this far and has yet to lead me astray. That is why we are in the group that we live. We stand up for what we belive in and if that means going toe to toe with so called city officals then we have done that before and came out on the better side. Let us finish this matter and go and get some rest before we head out again. I for one am glad we still have our place in Hook City. I think at all possible we need to use that place to rest if at all possible. They for example have shown some respect to our group." After his vent, Trace stands quite and waits for them to be sent on their way.

Savin
Thursday February 27th, 2003 9:21:42 PM

Savin goes and bows to Peerimus and says, "Well met. You say my friends are the reason you are here? Why is that?" Savin holds up his hand and continues. "No don't explain here. Let us buy you a meal and talk at leisure."

Savin turns to the Lieutenant and performs another bow. "Lieutenant, I apologize for all of this confusion. You are more than welcome to join us at our meal. Forgive my friends short tempers. We have just battled and bested an evil red dragon. Our wounds were grievous and though they are healed leave emotional scars which take longer to heal than prayer and bandages will allow. May we enter your fair town?"

Jurgen and Vus
Thursday February 27th, 2003 11:20:29 PM

His face beat red and cringed, Jurgen listens carefully to everything the guards state. He had made a little bit of a mistake. Now it was time for the second plan... Apoligize and hope they don't give a flogging. Floggings hurt a lot...

"Umm... Well. I'm Jurgen. Jurgen Sturmjager. A Child of Chaos and... I uh... happen to be very magically inclined. And... I created that illusion. It wasn't to make fun of you guards, or to stop you from doing you jobs. I just needed to distract you guys. My friend, Shiraz, was making a rather big mess and I didn't want things to get out of hand. My plan was to get you guys away from him, and then calm him down or take him away... Depending on what I had to do." He sighes and looks at the ground sheepishly. Then he inhales a few deep breaths and then continues. "And I'm ready to accept whatever punishment the city wants. Volunteer work or whatever else..." He really hopes that he doesn't face anything worse then that. Prison would be horrible! Well... Maybe not. He was fully capable of escaping some silly jail. Vus could teleport in, then take them both out. Or Jurgen could use his own magic... Still, he had done a crime and should pay the consequences. Even if he didn't like them.

Finally...through the gate (Back-up DM Greg)
Friday February 28th, 2003 12:03:50 AM

The lieutenant smiles at the young mage. "Finally, level heads start to prevail. Young man, you obviously wield great power. Using it while acting rashly like today will surely get you and your friends in trouble. While you are in our town, please stop a moment to consider the results of your magical actions, before you cast your spells. There will be no punishment for your 'crime', other than a 25 gp fine for misusing magic while dealing with a city official. You can either give me the money, and I will write you a receipt, or you can pay it at the town hall sometime in the next 24 hours."

"It seems like some explanations are in order. Firstly, the city is collecting a gate tax from everyone entering the city: one silver piece for each person, 2 silver pieces for each beast, and 3 silver pieces for each cart or carriage. The money is being used to fund the reconstruction of the south wall and gate, that were damaged during the Time of Change. I expect that you all can afford that, and would be willing to pay. Secondly, the city was brutally attacked only a few days ago by a well-armed adventuring party, much like yourselves. As a result, the city council has decreed all medium and large weapons are to be peace-bonded. It may only be a symbolic gesture, but the populace seems to be a little calmer as a result. I will give your group this writ that will exempt you from the peace-bond order. I suggest that if you plan to carry your larger weapons around town, you stay together, so that the city guard don't bother you about it too much." He takes a piece of paper and writes a short note on it, then seals it with a ring he is wearing on his hand, and hands it to Savin.

Then he looks up at Shiraz, and says, "As for you sir, I assure you that the entire town has no intention of 'pointing, screaming at and degrading' you. Since this sergeant was acting under my command, I apologize for his comment, and his attitude. He will be dealt with, I assure you. Many of the people in town only have respect and gratitude for you and your actions. However, here, as in any town, you will find a few who cannot deal with anything or anyone different. I hope you will listen to the calmer heads in your party if you run into such a person in town. It is a serious offence to draw weapons and threaten harm, unless there is an actual threat to 'life or limb'.

Lastly, he looks over at the druid and says, "It appears that you intend to spend some time in town with this group. I have seen a few bears brought through the gates, but none quite so large, and usually they ar muzzled and on a leash. Please be aware that you are responsible for the bear's actions. Frankly, it would be much simpler if the bear was to wait outside of town, while you conducted your business in town. It is getting late, and you might have a very difficult time finding a stable that will take him in."

The lieutenant steps aside, and allows the party to pay the gate toll and enter Heranmar.

Ilsidur
Friday February 28th, 2003 12:12:30 AM

Ilsidur steps forward, and pays the lieutenant 3 gold pieces. "I think this should cover all our entry costs. As my friend here has stated, we have just come through a very stressful period, and seen some terrible and wondrous things. What we really need right now is a meal, a drink, and a bed, in that order. I apologize also."

He turns to the leather-clad person and says, "Well met. I am Ilsidur Wayfinder, of the Southern Lights. I would be interested in hearing why you want to join with us. In return, let me tell you a story about a red dragon, deadly fire breath, and five witches missing various body parts. Oh, and nice bear, by the way. Do you ride him? I hope I never have to; I have enough trouble riding those silly horses. One day I am going to fall off and break my neck."

Then he heads off into town, looking for the nearest source of refreshment.

Sly Foxx and Luke
Friday February 28th, 2003 7:40:18 AM

Sly walks up to the Captain, "Don't worry Shiraz, I'll pay for you." As he (Sly) hand the Captain the 3 gold coins, tell him (Captain), "Captain, Sir, Here is 3 gold coind for the repairs to the town, one for my friend here, one for me and one for my wonderful dog Luke here. Do you know what this dog did in that fight with that Red Wyrm? He attact the dragon and had it by the tail and never let go until the Dragom was dead. I'm telling you Sir, it's not every dog would face a dragon. let alone attack it!" Sly turns to the rest of the group and they are all walking towards a Inn, "I'm out of cookies, does anynody else have some??"

Peerimus and Yorrick
Friday February 28th, 2003 9:46:53 AM

Peerimus hands the captain a gold piece and says "If you wish Yorrick to wear a muzzle or leash you will have to take that up with him. I am no more his keeper than I am yours." Peerimus proceeds throught the gate with the others.
"Ilsidur, well met and I would be most interested to hear of the dragon."
As almost an after thought Peerimus looks over his shoulder, "Relax captain he never wanted to enter the city anyway." Peerimus waves at Yorrick who stands on his hind legs to wave in return before sauntering back to the tree line.

Sir Thomas
Friday February 28th, 2003 12:13:35 PM

Having endured the tongue lashing of Ilsidur, Thomas spends the next minutes thinking about his reaction. Upon reflection, Thomas does not feel that he was out of line. He made no offensive comments or actions, the only thing he did was let the guard know of the offense he had caused.

Thomas also watches as his friends qrgue about the proper reaction to such an offensive behavior, and then pay ten times the amount of money owed to the city for their passage through the gate. "That money will be put to good use I'm sure," Thomas thinks to himself.

Thomas, astride Pryte-Honos, enters the city with his friends. He sizes up the human that will join them for dinner, and quickly offers him a hand of welcome. "Welcome to our company. We are the Children of Chaos, and I am Sir Thomas Hurley of New Elenna." Having introduced himself, Thomas simply travels with the group to the inn under great anticipation of dinner and relaxation ... and especially a soft bed.

Trace and Radiant
Friday February 28th, 2003 12:34:26 PM

Trace starts to move away from the others, "I will join yall at the inn in a moment. I need to go to the stable and pay for the upkeep of our horses that were left behind and then I will go to the catacombs to price our finds from the dragon. Hey Sly you want to join or just give me the chest to carry? After that I hope yall will have saved me a bottle of wine." If alone Trace makes his way into the city to take care of needed tasks. He first takes care of the payment at the stable and then heads to a leather worker to mend his outfit and armor. When that is taken care of he heads to the catacombs with the treasure in the very handy pocket sized chest.

Shiraz
Friday February 28th, 2003 3:16:35 PM

Shiraz hesitates making sure his friends enter he city, then the large minotaur slips off not entering the city and makes for the treeline, muttering to himself.

Jurgen and Vus
Friday February 28th, 2003 6:04:28 PM

Jurgen nods at the guard's knowing his mistake and how much of a problem he caused... And besides the point, it was going towards fixing the city. There weren't many noble causes these days. But, Jurgen didn't exactly have the money himself. Well, the group had just picked up a rather large sum of money. Not as large as the maidens, but still enough to give Jurgen a bit of spending money.. Quietly, he tapped Sly on the shoulder and whispered to him.

"I'm kind of broke... I spent all my money on the fight with Tumult. Could I just grab a hundred gold from what we got? I didn't exactly get anything when we fought him, so I figure I am owed just a little bit. And it's for a good cause." Providing Sly allows him to, Jurgen takes out 100 gold and gives 30 of it to the guard. "Here's what I owe, and then some. I want to see this city up and running as soon as possible, so this kind of thing won't happen again." He puts his hand out, to hopefully shake one of the guard's hands.

Then, he puts the rest of his money into his change-purse and sets off with the group. He waves his hair around and toys with his pony-tail a bit. It was strange. Two monthes ago, his hair was a dark black... Now it was a dirty blonde. Pulling out his dagger, he pressed it against the base of the pony-tail and continued thinking about it. Finally, he just draws it back and gets rid of it. Letting it fall to the ground, Jurgen sheathes his dagger.

"So? How do I look?" He shakes his head around a bit, getting rid of any little hairs. Then, he follows Trace, a smile on his face and some gold in his pocket...

"Oh! By the way, Peerimus... I'm Jurgen Strumjager. Last of my blood-line. I am a Child of Chaos, wielder of great magics... AND a bringer of the fifth age. All and all, I'm a pretty good guy. And this is Vus, my Blinkin' Hound familiar. He's a good guy too. He'll get me where I want and when."

Sly Foxx and Luke
Friday February 28th, 2003 6:54:35 PM

Sly Foxx smiles at Jurgen as he takes out the small chest, open it, takes out the key and un lock it.The big chest appears at their feet, Sly opens the lid and tell, " Little brother! take what you need." Then Sly closes the chest, takes out the key, the big chest disappears and in Sly hand is the small chest. Sly hands over the little chest to Trace,"Here Big Brother, you know how to use it. By the way I was never that much a pain in the... neck as Jurgen. Was I??"

Savin  d20+7=25
Friday February 28th, 2003 10:18:50 PM

Savin sees the big minotaur slip away from the party and head back to the woods. A frown crosses the monks face. He hangs back as the party moves ahead and decides to follow his new friend back to the woods. He realizes that dying and being brought back to life must be hard to deal with. He doesn't think Shiraz should be alone at this difficult time. He will follow at a discreet distance unless the minotaur notices him. He will then jog up and join his friend.

Ilsidur
Monday March 3rd, 2003 9:38:15 PM

Ilsidur watches the minotaur and the monk head away from town, and calls out, "I will meet you here at the gate tomorrow morning, if you are ready to come with us."

He turns and makes his way into town, shaking his head at the way events have turned out.

A night of R&R (Back-up DM Greg)
Monday March 3rd, 2003 10:38:31 PM

Shiraz and Savin make their way back into the forest, for some reason known only to them. The bear follows in their general direction, as well.

The lieutenant hands a receipt to Jurgen for the 30 gold pieces, and the rest of the party makes their way into the town. They head directly to the nearest tavern, and order a huge meal, along with a few rounds of drinks. The celebration is somewhat dampened by their missing friends, but they make the best of the evening. The white-painted druid joins them, and they swap tales around the table.

After an evening of drinks, dining and stories, the party retires to bed, real beds, for the first time in days.

In the morning, the party meets for breakfast. Everyone has had a very restful sleep, but it turns out that everyone has shared a dream. All that anyone can remember is a forest glade at dusk, with a gentle tune playing, and lithe figures dancing just out of sight through the trees surrounding the glade. The feeling coming from the dancers is one of joy, but there is also a faint feeling of dread in the air as well.

[OOC: The intent is for the party to spend a little time in town, dealing with the treasure and perhaps purchasing some items. I will run the Catacombs here on this board, including the buying and selling. DM Stephen is watching, and will help me to adjudicate. Don't be immediately sidetracked by the dream; more on that is to come over time.]

Shiraz  d20=4 d20=4 d20=1 d20=2
Monday March 3rd, 2003 10:43:17 PM

Shiraz stops listening to the dwarfs words and turns slowly, "Maybe you too should decide if you are willing to support one such as I." Shiraz turns and continues his walk to the treeline, attempting to spot<DC 4> a fairly good spot to put up his tent and prepare his camp. Shiraz puts up his tent and spends the next hour gathering firewood and preparing his rations for the night, getting frustrated at his lack of progress in lighting a fire, <Wilderness Lore 4> Shiraz finally pours oil on the stack of wood and gets a nice fire started. Hearing nothing and feeling tired Shiraz turns in early for the night.

Sly Foxx and Luke
Tuesday March 4th, 2003 7:02:49 AM

Sly is waken by Luke licking his face, "Alright I'm awake, I know you want your breackfast. But first I have to wash up and see if my clothes that I wash last night is dry?" Sly fells his clothes that was drying, but they were still a little damp. But he dresses himself in them any way.
Sly walks to the next room where Trace is sleeping, opens the door, Kicks the bed (And Sly don't care if there's a female in there or not) Tells Trace "When you go to the Catacombs BUY me an extra set of clothes, Please!" turns and walks out of the door, muttering all the way to breackfast "I'm sick and tired of wearing damp clothes first thing in the morning."
Luke is following Sly very closely because He knowns He's Going To Eat.

Peerimus
Tuesday March 4th, 2003 1:08:41 PM

The early morning rays find Peerimus sitting on his heels looking at the sky and his hands rubbing dirt between them just outside of the inn. Wearing a simple deerskin tunic and a fox fur over his shoulders he studies the sky. To himself, "A blessed day." Reaching into a small pouch of wolf skin he removes a white paint stick and reapplies the stripe across his eyes and then rubs off the black replacing it with blue. With a deep cleansing sigh he stands straight and walks back indoors to meet his new companions for breakfast. Finding Sly's table he places an order for a pure meat breakfast and ale to wash it down. "Tell me of this dragon." He genuinely inquires.

Savin
Tuesday March 4th, 2003 7:51:30 PM

Savin sees the minotaur making camp. He will grab an armload of fire wood and head into camp with a cheerful smile. "I much prefer to sleep under the stairs myself. Good friends sitting around a campfire could be very enjoyable. If you get that fire started, I will do the cooking."

Ilsidur
Tuesday March 4th, 2003 10:02:09 PM

Ilsidur rises early in the morning, and makes his way to the town gate. He waits for his friends, to see if they will appear. He will wait until mid-morning, and if no-one shows, he will return to the inn.

Either way, once he is back at the inn, he says, "Well, friends, who is going to deal with all this treasure? Do you want to play with it a little more, or will one or more of us bring it to the Catacombs?"

Shiraz
Tuesday March 4th, 2003 10:03:36 PM

Shiraz nods at Savin but says nothing. Waking the next morning Shiraz yawns and tries to rub the sleep from his eyes but the dream keeps gnawing at him. "Good morning Savin," the taur says pleasantly, "I guess we should head to town, I know you wanted to see about upgrading some of your gear." Shiraz sighs and prepares to take down camp," Please do me 1 favor and keep Ilsidur away from me, friend or not his words have caused me anger and I do not wish to say anything I might regret." Shiraz walks to town.

Sir Thomas  d20=13
Wednesday March 5th, 2003 1:55:24 PM

Feeling torn between the two sides, Thomas decides to say nothing at first. It goes against his nature to allow friends to bicker in such a way, but he remembers when he and Trace were at odds (and when Thomas whooped him in the forest ;-)) and the group allowed them to talk out their differences. Later, at the inn, Thomas addresses Ilsidur in a logical way, "Ilsidur, I know you and Shiraz don't see eye to eye on this matter, but we won't be in this town long. I genuinely hope that once we leave you and Shiraz can work out an understanding." [Rolled 13 + 10 = 23 CHR check] Thomas then smiles and claps the dwarf on the shoulder to try to disarm and backlash from the dwarf.

Thomas genuinely enjoys the festivities with the group, but he feels that sense of longing to have all of the group together. It is a feeling that he knows he must live with, so he puts his feelings away on that issue and enjoys the evening.

Thomas wakes in the morning rested and ready to tackle the day. He decides to go with Ilsidur to the gate to wait for their friends ... there's nothing like having a welcoming party to make you feel welcome again.

After the return of their friends and breakfast, Thoams goes to have his gear maintained and/or replaced. He visits the temple of Domi and prays and tithes ... at least a small amount that he possesses. Thomas is not sure how much is necessary because he doen't have the first idea what he possesses in money. (I'll get a monetary number some other time. I'm on campus.)

Thomas then tries to find the Fixers, Holly, or Donk.

In town for the day (Back-up DM Greg)
Wednesday March 5th, 2003 4:58:52 PM

Ilsidur and Sir Thomas meet Shiraz and Savin at the gate. Shiraz and Ilsidur studiously ignore each other. There are two new city guards checking all entrants, and they charge Savin and Shiraz 1 sp each as the entry tax, wishing them a good stay in Heranmar.

The party joins up at the inn, and decides what to do for the day.

[OOC: Please post what you plan to do for the day, as Clay has done with Sir Thomas.]

Ilsidur
Wednesday March 5th, 2003 5:02:09 PM

Ilsidur asks Sly, "Since you are carrying the chest, do you want to come with me to try to find the Catacombs? It might make sense for all of us to go together. I am sure we all have better uses for this money than as a boat anchor, or as a target for thieves."

Ilsidur plans to go to the Catacombs, and deal with the treasure.

Sly Foxx and Luke
Wednesday March 5th, 2003 6:54:38 PM

Sly is about to answer Peerimus, when Ilsidur comes to the table and ask for the chest. Sly turns to Ilsidur, "Sit with us Ilsidur and have breakfast with us. Trace said that he was going to the Catacombs today and ask for the chest. So we chose what we want, and sell the rest. We can even let Peerimus here chose something for himself? Would you like chose something? If you like we'll either wait till Trace come to breakfast or I'll go up and get the chest.
You know some of the treasure has been taken already you know. I always wanted to have a Mithral chainshirt. Now I can cast my magic with out fear of failure."
Luke finishes his breakfast and will follow Sly, for just a chance of getting a cookie.

Shiraz
Wednesday March 5th, 2003 9:58:53 PM

Shiraz doesn't stiffen up at the sight of the dwarf until he pointedly ignore him,"Okay," the taur mumbles to himself as he pays the entrance fee, not even grumbling about that. Shiraz walks over to the druid,"nice bear well met a I am Shiraz and I am told that I need to calm down. Who are you again?"

Jurgen and Vus
Wednesday March 5th, 2003 10:10:47 PM

After a long night of drinking, story telling and merry measure, Jurgen finds himself rather exausted. Every so often he blinks rapidly to make sure that he's seeing things right. He'd never had more then a tiny sip of ale in his entire life.

"Never... again." Jurgen spends the first few hours of morning just lying around, eating a bit of breakfast. Finally, after the headache wears off, Jurgen finds himself looking for the rest of the group. After a bit of cleaning himself up, he joins the group.

"Uh... Hey everyone. Sorry about last night and all. I don't exactly remember, so I'm a tad worried." He grins widely and stretches out, leading the group to the Catacombs... Well, leading them around a bit, until he finally gives up and lets someone else take him there.

Trace and Radiant
Thursday March 6th, 2003 2:10:30 AM

Trace makes his way down stairs and with black under his eyes and glowing red nose from too much rubbing. "Here Sly, take the chest back. I am afraid someone else will have to do this task, I feel horrible. Pick me out something good will ya." Trace rubs his nose again and grabs some fruit and fresh elven oj and heads back to bed to rest for the day.

(ooc: sorry I feel like heck, too tired to do more than just simple post.)

Sky Foxx
Thursday March 6th, 2003 8:16:40 AM

"Alright then, I'm sorry to wake you that way." Sly opens the small Ivory and Gold Chest (no bigger than a snuff box)taking out the small silver key and inserting it in to the small keyhole"PooF!" A big Ivory and Gold Chest, Sly opens it for all to see, the all the magic items (including the chest) still glow of magic.

"I remember waking up the day after the battle with Tumult (the Red Dragon) to find next to me 14 gems, 137 gold coins and this tiny chest. When we open the chest this is what was in the chest: 36,00gp, 2,000pp, 30 assorted gems(not counting what was laying beside Sly).

Magical Weapons and Armor:

Sly looks up and ask "anybody want any thing before I close it? Oh! those bag of gold we also had taken, the Maidens have taken from us as a donation to the Cause."

Peerimus
Thursday March 6th, 2003 10:18:12 AM

Peerimus tilts his head at Sly's offer and then shakes it slowly. "I did not slay the beast. If allowed to go with you and your's Sly, I will have others treasures to share."
The druid looks up at the Taur Towering over him, "His name is Yorrick and I am Peerimus", then clasping his hands parallel to his chest agian and with a slight head tilt, "an honor".
After breakfast, Peerimus will go with Sly about his day.

Trace and Radiant
Thursday March 6th, 2003 1:58:55 PM

Trace calls down from his room upstairs, "I am interested in the leather gauntlets! Cough Cough snifffffff!" Trace rolls back over pulling his blanket over his head.

Shiraz
Thursday March 6th, 2003 4:03:51 PM

OOC Last post until Sunday for me my computer is going into the shop for upgrading.

Shiraz looks over at the druid,"I see you already travel with a different type of companion, we should warn you that people her take offense at that that is not normal." Shiraz turns to Sly,"I might want something from the dragons wealth, but I would like to have it identified first."

Savin
Thursday March 6th, 2003 4:35:33 PM

Savin listens to the plans to have things identified and agrees. I don't think we should sell anything untl we know what thing are. Someone might want to keep things." He elbows Shiraz and adds, "I know Shiraz wants to keep the wedding dress. Not sure if he can where white though." Savin quickly moves away from the minotaur expecting a playful swat.

Off to the Catacombs (Back-up DM Greg)
Friday March 7th, 2003 12:21:23 AM

The entire party (except for the sick Trace) decides to make their way to the Catacombs to deal with the treasure from the dragon's horde.

The bartender volunteers directions, and the party heads out the door after breakfast. Following these directions, the party ends up in front of a small doorway at the end of an alleyway. Even before anyone can knock, the door swings open, revealing a flight of stairs leading down. The party descends the stairs, and enters a low-ceilinged room (Shiraz needs to bend over, and anyone over 6' tall needs to watch their head on the rafters). The room is empty except for a counter, at the far end. Behind the counter is a curtain, covering a doorway. A high-pitched voice humming a simple tune can be heard from behind the curtain.

Suddenly the voice stops, and the curtain is pulled aside by a middle-aged male gnome. He smiles when he sees the party, and steps up to the counter. "Well, well, clearly a party of adventurers, come to buy and sell. Where are your sacks of treasure? What have you got to show me? My name is Salimar, and I welcome you to this branch of the Catacombs, the most famous shop in all the Wold!"

Sly Foxx and Luke
Friday March 7th, 2003 8:18:46 AM

Sly around to the end of the counter (where's a space between the wall and the counter)where Sly takes out the Little Ivory and Gold Chest (so small that it fits in the palm of his hand). Opens the lid, takes out the silver Key and insert it in to the keyhole of the Chest.
"POFF!"There at every body's feet is the Big Ivory and Gold Chest with a silver key sticking out of the chest keyhole. Sly opens the chest and there, to all can see are:
36,000 Gold - 2,000 Platinum - 44 Assorted Gems

Art Items (non magical):
Brass Mug (with Jade inlay) - Jewelled and Gold Crown - 5 Large Spools of Platium Thread - Ivory Pan Pipe - A beautiful Woolen Tapestry.

Magical Weapons and Armor:
Short Sword - Mithral Chainshirt (which Sly is wearing)

Potion, Scrolls, Rings and Wands:
14 Potions - 13 scrolls - 2 Rings and a Wand.

Wondrous Items:
A clear empty Bottle with a Cork
A colorful Bottle with decorative Stopper.
A single Glove
A Pair of Leather Gauntlets ( Trace want them)
A Rust colored Bag

A dark Wood Mask with a Elven Face
A Pair of Goggles with Lenses from base of Wine Bottles (made Shiraz love and kiss every he look at)
A Hair Brush (with Luke's fur on it)
A Portrait Painting

Sly looks at Ilsadur, "I even put my own 14 gems in there, Oh! Shiraz, is right lets idemtafy the the treasure first, Then we choose and sell."

Sir Thomas
Friday March 7th, 2003 8:48:44 AM

Thomas accompanies the group more as a formality than because of a true interest. Thomas really only cares how much of the money is his so he can give a sizeable portion to the church of Domi. While the group waits on the identification of the items, Thomas looks around the catacombs for a new razor and some new clothes ... maybe some trail mix to take with him on the road or something nice for Pryte-Honos. Just a little browsing for the young paladin.

Jurgen and Vus
Friday March 7th, 2003 9:39:37 PM

Jurgen grins at the sight of the man in the Catacombs. Gnomes were wonderous creatures. Filled with life and joy and happiness. Unless they weren't, in which case they wouldn't be. But of course, this one appeared to be.

"Why hello Salimar. I am Jurgen Sturmjager, one of the most famous adventurers in the entire city! Although not many know me by name, instead they know me by my group. The Children of Chaos. Perhaps, just perhaps, you've heard of us." He gives the gnome a wink and stretches his arms out.

"We'll want all of these identified, the magic ones that is. I'd be more than willing to identify them along side you. We'd pay for the scrolls of course, but it would just be faster. Don't you think? I sure to. I tend to think quite often actually. It's a rather entertaining thing to do. Thinking that is, not just doing it often. Although thinking often is... Oh. I'm sorry. I didn't mean to ramble..." He blushes and looks down at his feet, embarassed that he made himself look like a fool in front of a gnome.

Savin
Friday March 7th, 2003 11:59:32 PM

Savin rolls his eyes at Jurgen and finds a seat in the store. He is seen murmering to himself while trying to rub off the tatoo on his arm.

Peerimus
Saturday March 8th, 2003 4:38:45 PM

Peerimus steps to the side and tries his best to stay out of everyone's way. Folding his arms in front of him, Peerimus looks quickly about in these low cramped quarters.

At the Catacombs (Back-up DM Greg)
Sunday March 9th, 2003 10:50:01 PM

Salimar's eyes light up at the sight of the magical chest. He says, "Well, well, I haven't seen one of those in years! Don't lose the little chest, or you'll never get the big one back. Why, I remember one time, when I was much younger, our party found one of these chests, and lost it again when we fought that group of ettins, and ended up in the Lake of Fire, then we met those salamanders, watch yourself around those, they get really hot..." He rambles on while looking through the contents of the chest.

"OK, first we'll see about these gems, while you spread the other items out on the counter here." He points to the counter behind him, then snaps his fingers. A jeweller's loop appears in one hand, and a piece of black cloth appears in the other. He places the cloth on one corner of the counter, and then pours the gems out on the cloth. He picks up each gem and looks at it through the loop. "Let's see now...this looks like a matched set." He points to the gems from the dragon's hoarde. "They are worth about 275 gp each. I can give you ... 8250 gold pieces for the lot of them. These other 14; I'll get to them in a few minutes." [OOC: Ceil, where did you get these gems? Do you know how much they are worth? Stephen, do you know anything about them?]

Then he turns to the rest of the items that the party has spread across the counter. He mumbles a few words and passes his hands across all the items. He sorts them into two piles: one contains the magical items, the other contains the mundane items.

"While I tell you about these," he says, pointing to the mundane items, "why don't you tell me what you might know about the magical items? It might make the identification easier."

"Now, this brass mug is worth 250 gold. This pan pipe is worth 150 gold, but it would be a great gift for a bard, if you know of one. The old tapestry is worth 350 gold. This lovely jewelled crown is worth 1500 gold. It is especially well made. And these spools of platinum thread are worth 350 gold each; total 1750 gold for the five of them. I know someone who can use them in making some magical cloaks."

"So, what can you tell me about these magical things? My services don't come cheap, you know. I charge 20 gold to identify each potion, 25 gold for each scroll, and 125 gold for each magic item."

Shiraz
Sunday March 9th, 2003 11:29:32 PM

Shiraz sits next to Savin. "I would like to thank you for coming to stay with me, my mother told me once to try and hold my temper. I suceed most days but occasionally...' the taur lets his voice trail off.

Sly Foxx and Luke
Monday March 10th, 2003 4:38:28 AM

"Well Sir, After the fight with the Red Wrym, we got our dead out along with the treasure for the Maidens, for their Ceremony. We also brought out a lot of gold in bags of holding, we found in the cave. Needless to say we were all very tired, we rested and fell asleep.

When we awaken from our dream of the Madiens, they had taken the bags of gold worth about 10.6 million gold and our dead comrads were one again alive. I was one of the first to wake and next to me was these 14 gems, some gold pieces and this Little chest. I open it's lid, found the Key, and open the little chest. POP! Appered this big chest, the content is on your counter.
OH! Yes! there was a Mithral Chainshirt which I would like you to tell me if It's a Elven made, I already know it is magic."

Sly turns to the rest of the party, "I have not herd the music since Utiva left us, Oh! so long ago, how about we give the Ivory Panpipe to Peerimus?"

Sir Thomas
Monday March 10th, 2003 12:35:02 PM

Still relatively disinterested in the workings of bargainings and identification and such, Thomas continues to browse through the shop. He does keep his ears open to what is going on at the front with Salimar the gnome, but he does not interject in the affairs unless something strikes him as blantantly amiss.

Peerimus
Monday March 10th, 2003 1:23:49 PM

At the mention of his name, the man's head snaps about in Sly's direction, but his face quickly calms almost as if he suddenly remembered where he was. He manages a weak smile at Sly and raises his hand in acknowledgement. "You are very generous and I am thnakful, but I'm afraid right now I need to excuse myself to get some air." Peerimus claspes his hands before himself and with a nod turns and goes back upstairs.

Savin  d20+5=13
Monday March 10th, 2003 2:34:43 PM

Savin smiles up at the huge minotaur. "My master at the monastary was very wise. He told his students that anger only gets in the way in life and is non-productive. It is good that you are working on this. You are welcome for my company. I realized that you were hurt by reactions of the guards and some of our own. I just wanted you to know that you are appreciated and cared for."

Savin pats the minotaur on the thigh. He stands up, glides up to the counter and takes the pan pipes. He will play a quick tune on them and say, "Please don't sell these or give them away. I would like them as part of my share of the treasure. I will keep you entertained around the camp fire with them."

Trace and Radiant
Monday March 10th, 2003 3:20:12 PM

Trace coughing and sneezing makes his way out of bed and downstairs to the bar. He rolls a gold coin up on the bar with much effort and orders, "Can I have some soup and bread please, and anything else that will kick this cold."

Jurgen and Vus
Monday March 10th, 2003 10:51:39 PM

"Well, I can say little on the items. I know that they were pretty fun to play with, other then that... Nay. The painting is just a little dragon that breathes real fire. It hurts, just a tad." He rubs his nose softly, but smiles as he does so.

"I cannot remember how expensive identify scrolls are, but if they are cheaper then your services, no offense, but we'll buy some of those. We need to save as much as we can, being an adventurer takes a rather hefty sum of gold from your purse... Otherwise, Identify them at will, then we will decide which to sell and which to keep. Providing the group wants to do anything at all..."

[Sorry for such a pitiful post. I don't have much time to do anything, school work and sleep are all contributing factors. Worry not, I shan't let this ruin me]

Ilsidur
Tuesday March 11th, 2003 6:57:36 PM

Ilsidur listens to what Savin has to say to Shiraz, and realizes that the monk is refering to him. He approaches the minotaur, and says, "Shiraz, I am truly sorry if anything I have said offended you. I was worried that the scene at the gate was going to turn into a deadly encounter, but I guess what I said didn't help at all. I value your friendship, even though I have only known you a short time. Sometimes I get a little over-zealous in my attempts to keep the young ones in line. Like I said at the gate, I would back you in any confrontation, but I just didn't think that petty guard deserved the time of day, never mind a thrashing. Either way, I apologize."

"And as for these items, I figure we get them identified here, and we can each claim whatever interests us. If no-one claims it, we can sell it and split the money. Sly, I presume you have claimed the mithril chain mail, and Savin, you want the pipes. These other items don't interest anyone?" He turns to the gnome and says, "Please continue."

The identification continues (Back-up DM Greg)
Tuesday March 11th, 2003 7:26:07 PM

Salimar takes the scrolls and leafs through them. He separates out six of them and places them on the counter. "These scrolls are divine in nature, and I cannot do anything with them. I suggest if you don't have anyone that identify them, you take them to the church, and ask for their help. As for these other ones..." He speaks a few arcane words, and looks at each scroll in turn. Then he faces the party and says, "In order, you have Mage Armour, Colour Spray, Slow, Knock, Charm Monster, Invisibility Sphere, and Telekinesis. Each scroll is cast at the lowest level possible."

He makes his way into the room behind the curtain, and returns wheeling a cart covered in alchemical apparati. He says, "The charge for each potion is for my time, and the ingredients that I need to use to identify them. I assure you that my fee is reasonable." He proceeds to take each potion in turn, and decants a tiny portion of each into a small vial. Faster than the eye can follow, he runs each vial through a series of tests, and states his result for each potion to the party. "The first three potions are the same: Cure Moderate Wounds. The next two potions are also identical: Cure Serious Wounds. Then: Aid...Glibness...Jump...Enlarge...Cat's Grace...Speak With Plants...Blink. The last two potions are also identical: Neutralize Poison."

He looks up at Jurgen through the cloud of smoke that has formed as a result of the potion identification, and says, "So far, my bill is 455 gold pieces. My fee for identification of the magic items includes the pearls that are needed for each spell cast, so the cost is also reasonable. Do you want me to continue?"

Sly Foxx and Luke
Wednesday March 12th, 2003 4:46:46 AM

"Yes Sir, you have 2 rings, a wand and a short sword, The reason I would like the Mithral Chain Shirt identifed, I would like to know if it's was made by Elves. You see! to me it makes a differance between having a 10% failure or a 0% failure when I cast a spell in the armor." then Sly turns to Ilsidur telling him "Ilsiduur my friend, I wanted to give the Pan Pipes to our new Bard, but I did not know when Savin had taken them, that he could play them or any other musical items."

Shiraz
Wednesday March 12th, 2003 8:33:45 AM

Shiraz looks over at Savin, "I am also sorry for any misunderstanding my short natured friend, in the future I will also try to remember to curb my honor driven ways." Shiraz smile broadly at the dwarf, and extends his hand to the dwarf. "As for any items, though the potions and scrolls are very nice, I am most interested in the actual stuff so to speak, weapons, sheaths and such."

Jurgen and Vus
Wednesday March 12th, 2003 9:43:20 PM

"I know that this ring," He pulls off the one he was testing previously, "is of Feather Falling. We don't particularly need it identified, but we would like you to identify all the other magical things. I'll just give you the details that we do know about them. We know nothing of the short sword, nor the mithral chainshirt, but I believe that Sly will be disappointed unless it's covered in magic." He winks and continues on. "The other ring, I believe I tested it to no avail. The wand, I can't wait to see what is in that wand! We didn't open the clear empty bottle with the cork, or the colorful bottle with a decorated stopper. We have a single glove, but it appears to be just a glove. Two leather gauntlets that do something or another. A rust colored bag... We don't need you identifying it. Sly found out that it was a bag of holding, if I'm not mistaken. A Wedding dress that makes the wearer look like a beautiful bride... I've gotten most of the make-up off, right?" He rubs at his face, trying to get rid of it. "Then there is this Deck of Cards, Reptile-Skin Belt, Dark wood Mask with Elven Face. We have Pair of goggles with Lenses from base of Wine Bottles, which make whoever looks through them infatuated, I believe. A hair brush, we rubbed it on Luke but nothing happened. Finally, a Portrait Painting of a dragon. It's just an animated thing though."

He puts each one on the counter as he talks about it, grabbing up the identified scrolls and stuffing them into his scroll organizer. "If any of you want one of these, let me know. I think Sly is the only other one who can use them, but let me know."

Savin
Thursday March 13th, 2003 12:10:40 AM

Savin listens to the conversations around him and is happy with the way they are going. He is glad that his friends are making peace. He hates seeing the group in discord. His mind drifts thinking about the different magic items that might help improve his fighting skills.

Sir Thomas
Thursday March 13th, 2003 9:09:27 AM

Having collected all of the items he wants, Thomas stops browsing and goes to stand with his friends. He sets his items on the counter away from the magical dealings and sticks his nose into the occurances.

Ilsidur
Thursday March 13th, 2003 6:33:21 PM

Ilsidur holds up the shield with the dwarven face towards Salimar. "When I first picked up this shield, is held another face, that was grimacing. It has gradually changed into a dwarven face. Can you tell me what that is all about?"

Now, for the interesting stuff... (Back-up DM Greg)
Thursday March 13th, 2003 7:11:05 PM

Salimar reaches under the counter and pulls out a sheaf of papers. "These are my identify scrolls; thus the fee that I charge you."

"Now, lets have a look at these weapons and armour:"

"This short sword is a plain old garden-variety +1 short sword."

"This mithril chain shirt is a +2 set. Sly, I can't tell if it was made by elves or not." [Ceil, use the rules for a mithril chain shirt in the center of the right-hand column of page 182 in the Dungeon Master's Guide. If you don't have access to that book, send me an email.]

"This large steel shield is only +1, but seems to have some other power attached, that causes the face to change..." [OOC: Stephen, can you fill this part in?]

He reaches for the large sword handle in the tiny scabbard, and starts to pull the sword out. He pulls out about 3' of the sword, and the entire thing drops from his hand. "Here, I need a hand with this." The party helps him pull the sword out to its entire 18' of length, and the gnome says, "Well, it seems we have two different magic items here. This sword is a +1 Gargantuan long sword, much too large for any of you to wield. The scabbard is a scabbard of holding, and will hold any size blade, making the blade appear only to be as large as a dagger. You can see how it works."

"You say the first ring is a ring of feather falling, so I won't identify it. The other ring is going to be very usefull to you, since it is a ring of invisibility!"

"The wand is a wand of dispell magic, with 1, 2, 3, ..., 30 charges remaining."

"The stoppered bottle is a Bottle of Air."

"The single glove is a Glove of Storing."

"The multicoloured bottle with the decorative stopper...I am not sure exactly what it does. [OOC: Help, Stephen.]

"This wedding dress makes the wearer perfect for her wedding day. I'm sure if any of you tried it on, you must have looked most comical."

"The ferret turns into some sort of male wonder-ferret when it is rubbed, attracting female ferrets from miles around, and then mating with them. The females should disperse over time. I am afraid that the figurine is yours to keep, it has a very minor curse."

"You say you know what is up with the picture, so I won't bother with it."

"The lizard skin belt...again, I am not sure about. [OOC: More help Stephen.]

"These leather gauntlets are Gauntlets of Ogre Power."

"WAIT! Sly, don't give me those cards. I remember seeing a similar set many years ago, and I know that they lose their enchantment as soon as they change hands. Sly, I am afraid that they are yours to keep, as long as you want them to remain magical. I can't remember exactly what they do." [OOC: Stephen?]

"And as for that darkwood mask, I don't think that you want me to have that. In fact, I am sure that you will want to figure that one out on your own, won't you?"

"So, my total fee so far is 12X125 gp plus the earlier 455 gp...1955 gp in total. If I can figure out what the other items do (the coloured bottle, the lizard belt, and the cards), I will add those identifies to the fee as well.

Sir Thomas
Friday March 14th, 2003 1:20:11 AM

"None of that really interests me you guys. Do with it what is fair and for all of our best interest. However, I would like to take some of the money in order to donate it to the temple of Domi. I am honor bound to do so. What is my share of the money? I'll take 10%, plus a little more for these items I have collected."

Thomas is buying a new razor, a bar of soap, an entire set of new clothes (shirt pants, socks, underwear, etc), new gloves, 2 weeks of trail rations, a treat (nicely tasting snack) for Pryte-Honos. Nothing major.

Sly Foxx and Luke
Friday March 14th, 2003 7:44:13 AM

"Oh! what a prize, that mithral chainshirt (+2) is stronger than I thought. Good that means that I take only a 10% spell failure. You know people, this little Statue of the Farret can come in handy. I know of a couple of times when we were in a pinch and could have used a Good distraction. As for the Cards, we had a set of just like these when we were in Hook City. We found them in our belongings. I think Ilsidur had those. they really came in handy.
Sir Thomas is right, we should choose, buy what we want and go on to our next adventure. I myself want soap, new set of clothes (shirt, pants, more underware), maybe a helmet, 2 week worth of trail rations and some beef jerky for Luke." Sly smiles and pets Luke.

OOC:Sly's AC is now 20.

Savin
Friday March 14th, 2003 3:45:23 PM

Savin gives sly a dark look. He turns to the shopkeeper and asks, "Curse? What sort of curse does this statue carry? Right now I am holding onto the statue, but Sly rubbed it. Who is cursed?"

Savin turns to Sir Thomas. "My friend. Maybe you should donate the wedding dress as part of your tithe. I can't think of a more apporpriate place for a wedding dress but at a church. It could be joy to 100's of brides if shared."

Savin fingers the mask on the counter. "Why do you say that you shouldn't identify the mask? Does it have some special ability or do you suspect it to be something that attaches itself to its wearer?"

Trace and Radiant
Friday March 14th, 2003 4:48:30 PM

Trace walks into the shop where the others are. "Well all I need was some rest. I feel much better. I see yall have taken care of everything. Do I still have first dibs on the gauntlets?" Trace wonders around the store for some fresh clothes and rations.

Peerimus
Friday March 14th, 2003 6:09:33 PM

AS Trace walks by Peerimus smiles, "it was feeling a bit crowded down there, so I thought I would enjoy the sunshine and wait up here."

Jurgen
Saturday March 15th, 2003 1:50:35 AM

At the mention of a ring of invisibility, Jurgen quickly grabs it. Not that he'd take it from the group, but because the group didn't seem to want it. And imagine the fun he could have with such a ring. He'd be the ultimate night watch! He could play the most amazing prank! He could hide when he needed to... Oh. Yeah. That's right. He wasn't going to hide any more. He was going to face his problems like Domi gave him the courage to. This ring, although powerful, would be useless to the group unless they had people who could hide and sneak very well. Too bad. Wait a minute! Jurgen could do all that stuff! He could use the ring to hide, then cast a spell then hide again. It wouldn't be cowardly, because he was helping the group and making sure that he stayed alive! "Ok. So we'll trade the Can I assume the same for the short sword and the Gargantuan long sword, along with it's scabbard of holding? I'd say someone should take the ring of feather falling, since it is so cheap."

Jurgen grabs up the Glove of Storing and quickly puts in on, as well as the wand of Dispel Magic. Both were very useful to him and as such, they would be useful to the party.

"Just take what you want and leave the rest up to me... And tell me what to pick you up at THE catacombs."

[OOC: Ok. If anyone wants something, speak up. It seems like you don't want anything at all! Come on! This is treasure from a dragon. I'm up for keeping a lot of it. But if all you want is the money, then fine. We can trade it all in... But I dont' see why! Jurgen's never had any magical items, really. He's had minor things, but nothing major like such. So, I'd like to play with them if I can. Unless you don't want me too... Whichever...]

Sly Foxx and Luke
Saturday March 15th, 2003 9:44:06 AM

"No, I don't think the curse is on you, but on me. Savin you rub it to play a prank on me, BUT you see I'm the on who handle it first, but after the prank the statue came back to me. Just like the Cards I handle them first. So don't worry.

Your right I think I'll take the brush for Luke, after all he did fight along side of us. Also I'll take the scroll of Invisibility and the two potion of neutraliz Poison. Then I'll be ready for our next adventure." Sly shivers as he thinks of the one that got away??.

Sir Thomas
Saturday March 15th, 2003 4:23:51 PM

Thomas simply smiles at Jurgen's desire to snatch up everything. Thomas sees his friend's actions as enthusiasm rather than greed, but he still feels the need to clear the air. "Jurgen, those things will be useful in your hands, so your possession of them is fine with me. I just want you to know, I am trying to save enough money for a holy sword from my god and the meaning of my life Domi. None of these items will benefit me or this group if I claim them, so I will pass for another day when we come across something that suits me more. Till then, I'll just be happy with enough money to tithe properly and the rest can sit in the bag of holding.

"Does anyone have an objection to me donating the wedding dress to the local temple of Domi?"

Shiraz
Saturday March 15th, 2003 11:48:21 PM

Shiraz looks at his friends then nods at Jurgen, 'As Sir Thomas said take as you need, the wand and the glove of courseit yours, just as the gauntlets for Trace. As to the wedding dress, yes Thomas I have no problem of you donating it to the temple, they handle those sorts fo things." Shiraz turns to the counter and looks at the items the party has picked up, gently handling the items one at a time the minotaur finally picks up 4 items ,"I do like the ring of invisiblity, with one such as I some times my size is distracting, the mask,I know not what it is but it has been arousing my curosity, the lizard skin belt as my current belt is starting to get a bit worse for its wear, and the scabbard of holding." Shiraz looks sheepishly at the others, "I dont need them all but those are the items that are most interesting to me." Shiraz turns to Sly," I think we also need to keep the chest."

Oops (Back-up DM Greg)
Sunday March 16th, 2003 3:03:41 PM

[OOC: Apparently, I was not supposed to run a 'franchise branch' of the Catacombs on this board. So, let's pretend this was the party meeting with a local hedge-wizard to get the items identified. If you want to sell them, buy anything else, or to find out what the unknown items are, you will need to take them to the REAL Catacombs. Sorry about the mix-up.]

Savin
Sunday March 16th, 2003 4:47:59 PM

Savin sees his friends asking for the things they want and adds, "The weapons and armor I can't use. I already have magical gloves, so I can't use the glove of storing. I have skills in keeping myself hurt from falling, so the ring of feather falling should go to someone else. The ring of invisibility is nice and I wouldn't mind having that. I have my belt of giant strength so the guantlets of ogre power don't interest me. Don't know about the mask or the belt. You good friends chipped in and bought me the belt of giant strength when I first joined the group. If you want, I can count that as part of my treasure. My master taught me to be fair and honest."
Savin momentarily fingers the magic brush and then picks up the mask with the elven face. "I don't think anyone has tried this on. I might as well since we can't get it identified." If no one objects Savin will tie the mask on and see what happens.

Ilsidur
Sunday March 16th, 2003 6:02:18 PM

Ilsidur also smiles at Jurgen's antics. "Great, just what you need, Jurgen! A ring to make you invisible. Now how am I supposed to keep an eye on you!"

"Sir Thomas, I have no objection to your donating the wedding dress to the temple. But I remember one of us looking very cute in it earlier. Are we sure that we want to give it up? That person might want to claim it."

"Of the items that we have identified so far, I am most interested in the shield. It seems to already look like me."

Salimar says goodbye (Back-up DM Greg)
Sunday March 16th, 2003 7:11:16 PM

Salimar smiles and nods at the party as they divvy up the treasure. "I agree, a dragon's treasure is to be used, not sold for scrap. Well, I am afraid that I have given you all the information that I could. If you want more, you will need to find the store called the 'Catacombs'. As I said before, my fee is 1955 gp; I presume any party that has vanquished a dragon can afford that pittance! Now, if you will settle up, I feel a little tired. Casting all those scrolls takes a bit of energy, you know!"

Sly Foxx and Luke
Monday March 17th, 2003 5:16:21 AM

Sly watches Salimar depart, waves at him as he disaperes.
Sly take another look at the shield in Ilsidur hands, "you know I think I heard of this kind of shield, mind you this is only rumors now. But it is magic, but it shows the portait of it's owner. The shield considers you it's owner."
Sly turn to Savin with admeration in his eyes, "Friend, we as a group we gave you that magic Belt as a gift to let you know you belong with us, as part of this group. As far as this treasure goes, we all work for it. The Maidens left us with out taking it, It's OURS, we did our part and some of us died for it, We'll even keep the chest. So Savin you keep any thing you want.
Sir Thomas, I think I'll go with you to the Temple and give thanks because after all that Fight, which was no easy task, I still have my mirical dog with me."

Back-up DM Greg
Tuesday March 18th, 2003 12:57:27 AM

Friends, please abide for a day while Stephen and I work through the transition back to his DMing. Either he or I will have posted as DM by tomorrow evening. Sorry about the delay.

Like sand in the hourglass ...(DM Stephen)  d100=48
Tuesday March 18th, 2003 1:08:59 AM

(Im baaacckkk!!)

Time passes as the party continues to rest. The quickened pulse from combating a dragon finally calms and you all find yourselves returning to a normal life again.

(3 weeks pass, these events happen)
The town is beginning to take shape once again. The mood of the people is up. There are bardic songs floating around on the winds about dragonslayers that dwell within the city. There are rumors about a group of maidens that visited the town council and donated a large sum of money toward the towns reconstruction. The 100,000gp was donated in the name of the "Children of Chaos." A banquet was held in your honor and it was quite pleasureable. The roasted beast and wine flowed freely. Each of you get caught up in your training, research or whatever you desired to do with your time off.

When Savin takes the simple darkwood mask and stares upon it and tries it on, he realizes how beautiful the elven face appears (nothing happens). Savin becomes impressed with the exquisite craftsmanship. You feel compeled to keep it with you. Not obsessively however, it holds no control over you. You find it a wonderful decoration for your room; either propped up on a table or hanging on your wall. Its never ending stare gives you peace of mind and spirit. You find it easier to accomplish deeper meditative states with it around. Over the next couple of weeks, while you sleep at night, you dream of resting under a majestic darkwood tree in a most splended forest. You feel the most amazing peace as you slumber under its canopy of branches. Little flickering lights of lightning bugs dance all around. You hear a babbling brook nearby. Its crystal clear water gently bubbles and swirls. Birds sing, insects churp and click and gentle woodland creature come and rest by your side and keep you warm. It seems like paradise.

An elven woman, that looks like the mask, appears to you. She gracefully dances and sings to you. She seems to possess all the grace of a goddess and all the beauty the world can provide. Her melodies relax you to the point where you think your heart just just might stop beating. Before she leaves you, she bows down and gives you a kiss upon your cheek. You then wake and feel energized and ready to deal with anything that you face during the day. More than you ever have. Not only do you feel you can take on another dragon by yourself, but you feel ready for anything the Wold has to throw at you. The dreams happen every night and it becomes an event you look forward to.

(During this 3 week time period you may list what all you do: scribe scolls, experiment with the magic items, help with the towns reconstruction, vegg out and drink all night and sleep all day ... I dont care. Try and decide who gets what of the treasure you. Decide what you want to sell and so on over the next couple of posts. Let the games begin. I will post your hero points shortly. I need to go over my notes because I havent looked at anything in several weeks. :)

Savin
Tuesday March 18th, 2003 8:23:09 AM

Savin will spend most of his mornings doing exercises, jogging, performing sparring drills etc. (OOC Savin went up in level and he is conducting his training for this)

The afternoons will be spent helping around the town. He will do some healing, help with reconstruction and try to lift the spirits of the people. He is often seen playing a set of ivory pan pipes, trying to become more proficient in their use.

The evenings will be spent with his companions, enjoying their company and getting to know them better. He will describe the effects of the elven mask to them and offer to let his companions sleep in his room so they to can get the benefits of a wonderful nights sleep.

OOC Savin will only take the mask and the pan pipes as part of his treasure. I reserve rights to the belt if it is something that could really help but don't know that yet. Would like to know Savin's share of the money so he can take a personal trip to the catacombs.

Sir Thomas
Tuesday March 18th, 2003 10:29:59 AM

[OOC: Thomas too went up a level as a result of the conflict with the dragon. I'm working to find time to update my CS and send it in ... sorry for this delay ... I know it's considerable. Also, I'm working on making an even split of the money we collected that is in the chest. I'll deduct 2,000gp for the identifying we just had done and then divide by ... 7? (Thomas, Sly, Trace, Savin, Shiraz, Jurgen, Ilsidur.) You guys decide on who takes what of the treasure because I don't want any of it. As stated previously, I'm saving my choices and money in order to get a holy sword for Thomas. That would help him more than these treasures.]

Thomas thanks his friends and takes the dress. He then goes to the temple of Domi where he drops off the wedding dress to go with the tithe he gave earlier.

During the three weeks of down time, Thomas resupplies with rations and clothes and such, he has his sword and armor and shield and helmet looked at by the local armorer to be sure that they are in excellent shape. He spends most of his time in prayer and consultation with his god. He sits in the temple and reads books and such to reaffirm his faith and his understanding of the teachings of his god. He also spends considerable time practicing his fighting skills and staying in shape ... he knows he'll need that to stay alive in this Wold that abounds with Evil, uncertainty, and distrust.

Clay OOC  d20=5
Tuesday March 18th, 2003 12:05:35 PM

ok, so I decided to just make time because I'm SO late on this matter. Sorry.

Rolled 5 for new level hp for Thomas
(I changed hp, added 1 to DEX because you get 1 ability point every four levels ... correct? and I gained 3 skill points and added them to diplomacy, riding, and balance. My new dexterity changed my fortitude, AC, and some of my skill values. I also caught a mistake in my spell section ... I fixed it I think by taking away one of my spells. I think that's it.)

As for the treasure here's how I see it:
I subtracted the fee for the identify and that took us from 36,000gp to 34,000gp.

NOTE: I have offered my understanding of claim within the group and also of my opinion to sell if unclaimed. Unidentified items I did not suggest to sell ... I'd rather figure out what those items are first. Also, SInce everyone seems to be shying away from the gloves of ogre power, Thomas will take them. They won't help his strength much, but some is better than none! Please offer any input regarding mistakes or differences of opinions. I'll check this board and my email address for either. cworth52@hotmail.com. Thanks folks. Enjoy the claiming process. Anything unclaimed I say sell!

The money breaks down as follows:
34,000 gold (4,857.15 to each group member if divided by 7)
2,000 platinum (285.71 to each group member if divided by 7)
*This of course leaves none in the group pot ... do we want to leave any in the group's holdings or just trust that if we need something (e.g. room, food, city entry, etc) as a group that we will be honest and pay for it together or in turns.

Gems, 30 from Tumult and 14 that Sly seems to have dreamt up. This is what I could figure out:
30 assorted gems -- 275 gp each; total 8250 gp -- sell and divide the money?
14 assorted gems ? Sly's possessions?

Sly Foxx and Luke
Tuesday March 18th, 2003 1:08:43 PM

Sly is enjoying his three weeks of rest, in the morning he would dress with his new armor, his Mithral Chainshirt. Then brush Luke coat untill it gleem. They would both go down to breackfast, if anybody was there he would break bread with them. Sly would take a run in the wood with Luke, and sometimes Go along with Peermus and Yorric just to be close to nature.

In the afternoons Sly would work with the dwarf monks with their work, all the phiscal work that needed to be done. About 2 or three times a week, Sly would go to the temple with Sir Thomas for prays and counsel. Some times Sly wouls spar with Savin, he found it intresting fighting with his hands and feet.

In the evening as they all dine together, just speaking their minds or just enjoying good compainionship. One evening sly ask "This little chest is important, we can put our belongings in it, like our backpacks when traveling, our food for us and our animals and stuff like that. But who is going to carry it? I'll put in the chest the Statue of the Farret, the Deck of Cards, we could also start to imprint a card of each of us, so we can talk to each other if saperated. Luke Hair brush. But again who want to carry the tiny Box around?

Sir Thomas When next you go to the Temple of Domi, Please take these 14 gems and 137 Gold (that you think I dream up) as an offering.

Peerimus
Tuesday March 18th, 2003 2:24:21 PM

Over the course of the three weeks, Peerimus will spend his mornings helping with the reconstruction efforts. The communal nature of the project lends to him a sense of belonging in this place, so far from his sheltered home.

Afternoons will find the young man walking and playing with Yorrick in the trees outside of town or just lying lazily by a brook. Peerimus will try to encourage Luke and Yorrick to play as well. "If we are all to be travelling together it would be good that they know each other well."

In the evening, Peerimus will sit with the others for dinner, but will retire to the wood to sleep after about the 4th night.

"Savin, I would be most interested in staying a night in your room with the mask. Assuming your offer extends to all at the table."

Ilsidur
Tuesday March 18th, 2003 7:58:24 PM

Over the three weeks, Ilsidur spends a lot of time on his own, trying to figure out what to make of his clericship(sp?). He has lost his connection to his god, but has felt a connection to...something. He prays every morning, and feels the power of spells enter his body, but can't really figure out the source of the power. Maybe one god, maybe many gods, maybe the Wold itself, he couldn't tell. [OOC: Still waiting for the rest of the Woldian gods to get fleshed out.] Hopefully, an answer will come to him soon.

In his search, he goes with Sir Thomas to the church, and listens attentively through the service, waiting for some obvious connection...but it doesn't come.

He also disappears for a couple of days, to try his luck at a new shop of sorts, called the Black Genie Center. [OOC: I'm going through my source books now...]

When Savin details the happenings regarding the mask, Ilsidur also is interested in attending a night with the mask. "I suggest we all get together somewhere out of town, likely in the forest, to experience whatever will come of the mask. Savin, your dream seems to remind me of the dreams of the forest glade that we all experienced earlier. Could they be related? Peerimus, maybe you could find a suitable spot for this?"

Trace and Radiant
Tuesday March 18th, 2003 11:31:31 PM

Trace picks up and puts on his new gauntlets (what are the stats). Trace seems pleased with his new addition and smiles at everyone. "
Well what is next on our list to do?"

Jurgen
Wednesday March 19th, 2003 7:29:44 AM

[OOC: Go on without me. I'd rather not post, then make a poor post due to lack of sleep. I'm sorry, I really need to lay off doing things. I promise my next post will be spectastic! =)]

Shiraz
Wednesday March 19th, 2003 8:30:51 AM

Shiraz spends the next few weeks helping around town and trying to be pleasant to the towsfolk. At some point Shiraz turns to Jurgen,"I think that the ring is yours if you want it I will not argue over what amounts to be a trinket." Shiraz will take both the snakeskin belt and the scabbard willingly, if no one objects. "I hope we can get this belt identified, are there any other items we need to have done?"

DM Stephen
Wednesday March 19th, 2003 9:32:36 AM

Will post as soon as possible. Been spending most of my free time with character sheets and other DM responsibilities. I also got caught up in a really cool movie!!! So I ran out of time last night :). Hang on tight until I get my feet wet, once again. :)

Sir Thomas
Wednesday March 19th, 2003 9:59:14 AM

After evaluating the treasure and all of the claims on the magic they picked up, Thomas is slightly disturbed by the lack of feedback from his friends. "So I guess what I say goes, other than the fact that Trace spoke up for the gauntlets of Ogre Power. I will start scratching (i.e. deleting) items off of the list as were claimed in the assumption that they have made their way into your own inventory lists, and I'll sell any items that are marked as uncliamed. I'll start that tomorrow (i.e. next week when I return to school)."

The items I intend to sell include:
The goggles, hairbrush, painting of baby Tumult, gargantuan long sword +1, short sword + 1, wooden tapestry, 5 spools of platinum thread, jeweled crown, and inlaid mug.

I also will claim the cat's grace, jump, and enlarge potions.

Thomas takes the gems and money from Sly and deposits them with the wedding dress and his own tithe of 800 gp (roughly 10% of the sum of what I possess and what I expect to get from the dragon's hoarde. He, like his friends, spends some time helping rebuild the town, but most of his time is spent as posted earlier.

[OOC: I have subtracted my tithe plus 100 gp for all of the items I purchased as well as the 50 gp upkeep that we owe after each module.]

Peerimus
Wednesday March 19th, 2003 12:00:26 PM

"It would be an honor Ilsidur to prepare a place in the wood."
Peerimus will go into the outer forest and cast Speak with Plants and also Speak with animals to locate a nice glade with soft ground and thick grass. Then with Plant gowth, create a 100' radius ring about it where the plants are 20' thick and leaving the ineer 60' radius section clear and a path leading out.

Sly Foxx and Luke
Wednesday March 19th, 2003 12:21:31 PM

Sly runs after Sir Thomas, "Wait a minute,Sir Thomas, that hairbrush belongs to Luke. After all in his own way, he earn it fighting the Dragon (in his own way ofcourse). Don't you think? OH! Don't foget that there is six Devine Nature Spells, That are not Identifyed, you know?"

Ilsidur
Wednesday March 19th, 2003 5:56:44 PM

Ilsidur casts read magic, and looks over the six divine scrolls. He says, "These scrolls are...Shillelagh, Sanctuary, Bull's Strength, Speak With Dead, Flamestrike, and Cure Critical Wounds. I presume since no-one else can use them, I will hang onto them. I think that any one of these would be useful in the future, so I don't think that we should sell any of them. Alright?"

"Sir Thomas, your list of sales sound fine, except I think that we should keep the picture of cute little Tumult, as a remembrance of our battle. Maybe we could have the innkeeper hang it here behind the bar, or we could keep it in the big chest. If we leave it here, we better tell the bartender not to let anyone look at the picture too closely, or he will be in for a burning surprise! Once you sell the items and the gems, then we can divvy up the treasure. I propose that we divide the treasure 8 ways, and the eighth way can be the party treasure share, that you can use for bed and breakfast, and potions and such. Also, Sir Tom, could I get the icy mace back? I sure could use a magic weapon."
