Table in the Hearthfire

A beginning - DM Ian
Monday June 16th, 2003 3:02:06 PM

Clustered around a table in the back, the party continues on with their conversation within the Hearthfire. In a lull of the conversation, the waitress stops by to offer a few more drinks.

While everyone makes their decision and the waitress turns to fetch the drinks, Rond (and no one else) suddenly hears Marcus' voice in his ear.

"For friendship, past, and upcoming birthday, would like to share treasure map, sunken ship. Meet messenger road outside Hamlet, will lead you to me.
Marcus"

(OOC: as your character sheets are updated, please forward them to me at ianhess@hotmail.com. Feel free to drop me a line if you have any questions, or comments I should be aware of)

Renik
Monday June 16th, 2003 6:18:34 PM

Unaware of the voice in Rond's ear, Renik says "Well then, unless there are any further objections, I will take over as leader, with Rond as my second. And should my tactical decision prove eronious in the field, we hold another vote."

He takes a long draught of wine, and says with a wink "Well my first act as leader is something I think is long overdue. We've been calling ourselves the Windhorn Hamleteers for ages, and it just doesn't fit anymore. We need to come up with a proper name for our team. Anyone have any thoughts?"

(OOC: I have a few thoughts on this; perhaps this might be a discussion best handled by email?)

Feng
Monday June 16th, 2003 10:39:43 PM

The idea of a group name never caused Feng much thought. He always believed that his actions should state who he was but it would be nice for something that people could refer to them. It would be hard to remember a group of names but one would work well. There is a lot of evil out there. There is much work to do.

"My only request is that the name is not savage in nature and has some dignity to it. I do not want people to think we are just another mercenary band."

Tratain
Monday June 16th, 2003 11:29:20 PM

Tratain sits and listens to the conversation the party is having. He says "I would like to continue to travel with you all if you would have me, otherwise I will probably just end up off on some journey by myself. You all see like good people. If you will have me, I will stay with you all."

Rond
Tuesday June 17th, 2003 6:57:26 AM

"I agree with Feng that the name shouldn't be too rough soundnig. We might want to consider it for a little bit.

Tain I don't see why you couldn't come along, especially after helping us out with the Dragon. Though we'd have to speak to our employer and make sure that he is aware of you. With that in mind we might want to step outside for a moment, all of us that is."

Draax
Tuesday June 17th, 2003 8:13:04 AM

Draax welcomes Tain as an official member of the team. Then he sits and ponders the renaming of the group with the others.

Still at a Table - Dm Ian
Tuesday June 17th, 2003 1:54:53 PM

The waitress returns, and sets your respective drinks on the table with a smile. She says, "Just let me know if you need anything else, ok? We have a nice roast on, and a good selection of fruits from a recent caravan, if you like."

Otherwise, conversation continues in this quiet corner, removed from the other patrons.

Renik: the Tale of the White Wolf
Tuesday June 17th, 2003 4:44:13 PM

As they sit discussing the group name, Renik has a thought. "You know" he says, "I'm reminded of something my father once told me. I've been thinking of it ever since we battled the Frost Giant and his beasts, and now it strikes me that it could be what we are looking for."

"I was 13, and the villagers had come to see my father to complain that a rogue wolf had been attacking livestock. As the village woodsman it was father's job to hunt the creature down and kill it. Only this time he took me along with him.

I can't describe how proud I felt that morning as we left together. I felt I had become a man. And later, when we stood over its dead body, one of my arrows in its side, I felt more powerful than I ever felt before.

"There are two types of men, son" my father said. He was a quiet man, not given much to conversation, and these words softly spoken over the beast's corpse were like nectar to me, a powerful bond between father and son.

"There are sheep" and with that he gestured down into the valley, towards the village, "and then there are wolves. Wolves are men of power, son. They are the strong, and it is the nature of things for the strong to rule the weak. You only need look at nature to know this is true."

I nodded. At that moment I felt like a wolf, all-powerful.

"I think I'm a wolf, da." I said to him, and he laughed.

"Thank Alemi, not yet, son. You are but a cub, and long may it remain so. But you will be. You will be, and so will your brother." At this he grew quiet, and his features hardened.

"But that's good isn't it, da?" I asked, not wanting this rare moment of closeness to end so soon.

He sighed, and looked me in the eye. "Son, power brings with it many burdens. The strong have a choice to make in their lives. They rule, and so may take what they wish, do what they wish, even kill who they wish. Therein lies the path to evil son, the dark path. It is the way of the Black Wolf. And I fear..." he stopped, shook his head and continued;

"Understand this my boy. It takes even greater strength to have that power, and yet deny yourself all those things that could be yours. If you can be strong and yet care for your fellow man, fight yet be willing to sacrifice all for mere sheep, then you are the greater man by far. The way of the White Wolf is a lonely, often thankless path, but it is the best path a man can walk. Alemi willing, my son, one day you will walk it."

Well, it has been many years since my father died, and my village was destroyed by the stupidity of man and the vengeance of nature. And since that time I have often thought on his words, and hoped they might one day prove true.

Until we ventured into the Scab I thought of myself merely a Gray Wolf, a mixture of the light and dark. Many of my motives were selfish, indeed my reasons for undertaking the mission in the first place were largely to do with greed.

It wasn't until we returned to ghostly Hororot King that I realised; the money, the thrill of adventure; none of that mattered to me more than seeing that ancient hero see the peace he so deserved. I felt changed in that moment. I felt reborn, reborn as a White Wolf."

The rogue stares into the roaring flames of the Hearthfire Inn's fire. "I think I see us all as White Wolves now, where perhaps before I saw only truly saw Feng as such. It might serve us as a name, if you think it not too foolish."

The rogue is silent for some time, lost in memory, then he snaps suddenly back to the present.

"I'm sorry, Rond, did you say what I thought you... outside you say? I'm sorry my friend, I got lost in the past there for a moment. Aye, it might not be a bad idea to step outside and take the night air."

He looks to his companions, subtly indicating they should leave, and rises to join Rond as he heads outside.

Tratain
Tuesday June 17th, 2003 8:07:26 PM

Tratain looking a little relieved the group has decided to accept him, sits back and listens to Renik's Tale about the White Wolf. Fitting he thinks to himself but remains silent. Not sure if he should participate as he was only officialy accepted about a minute ago.

Tratain will get up and travel along with the others when it is mentioned they should go outside.

Arien
Tuesday June 17th, 2003 8:20:46 PM

Tossing a few coins on the table Arien rises with the rest of the group and heads outside.

Feng
Tuesday June 17th, 2003 8:52:15 PM

Feng grabs his double axe and follows the others. The tale Renik told was a fine one. Such a tale that he never had as a child. There was one thing that bothered him. How could the others feel he was a white wolf when Feng himself did not?

Draax
Tuesday June 17th, 2003 11:55:18 PM

Draax listens to Renik's tale and liked the moral of the story, but could not honestly consider himself a white wolf. With the type of work they have been doing during the past year he thinks of himself more along the lines as a shadow wolf. He smile to himself as he thinks about Renik's story, for some reason he has always thought of the rogue as a shadow fox.

Bill Troublefinder
Wednesday June 18th, 2003 2:55:06 AM

"Hmmm, I'd been thinking of a name like, 'The Blackberry Investigators'," says Bill. "White wolf? I don't know if I want to be called a wolf. But, that was quite a story, Renik. Quite a good story. Let me think on it some."

Just before heading out, Bill pulls out from his pants pocket some smallish squares of parchment. On each one, in various colors of ink, is written the following (with slight variations from one piece to another):
30th! Birthday! Party!
Bill Troublefinder & His Family
Invite You to Come! On the 10th!

With Pies! And Prizes! And Stories!
And Food Galore!
Come celebrate, at the Troublefinders'
And in the nearby meadow. Pavilions!
Acrobats (Maybe)! Dancing!
Music! Jokes! (And Pies!)
[No shoes required]

Bill gives one of the parchment squares to each of his friends, and one to the waitress in the Hearthfire. "Tain, you have got to come and meet my family, especially now that you're joinin' up with us. Whatever we're called!"

He heads happily out into the night darkness in the company of his friends. If need be, he will pop out a sunrod to provide some light for their path.

Outside in the evening
Wednesday June 18th, 2003 8:29:52 PM

Rond stops to deal with the check, as the party files out of the Hearthfire and into a pleasant evening.

Standing outside the inn building, the little details and sounds of the Hamlet winding down for the evening. A cart is being drawn down the street piled high with lengths of drying wood gathered from the nearby land, destined to keep at least several families warm at night. Smoke from cooking fires carrying the scent of various baking goods and cooking meat combine with the sound of children being called in from play for dinner, making for a moment that will likely return to each of you in a harder moment later in your adventuring career.

The road out of town can be seen from your gathering point before the inn, but in the evening light, not much can be seen at any signifigant distance.

Conversation continues, as you wait to hear the reason Rond called you outside. Certainly nothing appears wrong.

Tratain
Thursday June 19th, 2003 12:12:11 AM

Tratain follows along, not sure why everyone was called outside, but will go anywhere that Rond directs him to.

He says to Bill "I would Love to attend your party Bill, it sounds like alot of fun, and you can never have enough pie!"

Draax
Thursday June 19th, 2003 8:38:38 AM

Draax takes the invitation from Bill and smiles at the halfling. "A party is just what we need."

He waits with the others, wondering if Marcus will have another assignment for them.

Rond
Thursday June 19th, 2003 9:52:52 AM

Once outside the Inn at least, Rond takes a quick look around. Expecting to see nothing out of the unusual Rond explains, "Marcus has told me to meet his agent outside of the Hamlet. I'm betting that means that we should just move down the road a bit away from the Hamlet."

Renik
Thursday June 19th, 2003 2:35:06 PM

The rogue nods at Rond's words. "Aye, that's what I assumed you meant. He wouldn't call on us lightly. Do you remember his precise words?"

He looks at Bill with a grin as they walk. "A party, eh? Good plan that halfling! Now all I need to do is think of a presnt for you! What do you get for the hobbit who has everything?"

Just outside town - DM Ian
Thursday June 19th, 2003 7:35:30 PM

As you exit town in a loose group on the main road, you all see a human waiting by the side of the road. He is a six foot two male in his early thirties, with a unevenly shaven scalp. The most noticeable feature about him is the absolute deadness in his eyes, and slightly leaden tendency of his movements as he shifts from side to side. He is clad in a horseman's chainmail huberk that hangs to his knees without ornament or distinguishing mark, with a longsword and dagger belted at his right side.

As the party moves into conversational range, the man looks up, and speaks, a curiously flat tone coloring his words.

"I was sent to meet you, and coordinate a meeting. My name is Abram. You must be Rond, come here to meet me because of a twenty five word sending spell you just received a few minutes ago. That should establish my authenticity."

With this he looks around the area, and then continues, saying, "Marcus asked me to meet you here, and relay that when you are ready to join him, I can lead you to the nearby rendevous. He will have the map to the sunken ship there, but asked me to say that you shouldn't,... short yourself the party,... that he would be waiting comfortable with the elves at the rendevous point until you get there."

With this he leans back against a tree, awaiting your response.

Something about him seems vaguely familiar to Feng and Bill, but the details evade you.

Draax
Thursday June 19th, 2003 9:54:44 PM

Draax watches as the stranger addresses Rond. He moves close enough to hear their conversation. As he listens to what the man has to say, Draax wonders if this man is Marcus in disguise. They do not call him the spy master for nothing. With that thought in mind, Draax look over at Tain thinking he could also be Marcus. He berates himself for letting his imagination get the better of him. The half-elf knows the spy master will reveal himself when he is ready and there is no need to wasting time trying to guess what disguise he is wearing.

Tratain
Thursday June 19th, 2003 10:30:32 PM

Tratain stands near the back of the group when they meet with the stranger, not knowing who it is they are going to meet, he remains quiet about what goes on. Tratain uses his ability to detect evil(Paladin Ability) because something just feels a little off about the whole situation to him.

Arien
Friday June 20th, 2003 1:11:27 AM

At the mention of elves Arien perks an eyebrow for a moment. Leaning over to Tratain, Arien says in a low voice, "We worked for a man named Marcus, who was the head of intelligence for Plateau City. I had thought that we had gone our seperate ways but it seems Marcus has other ideas in mind. Perhaps when we get a chance I'll recount our full dealings with the man."

Rond
Friday June 20th, 2003 4:09:59 AM

Seeing this person that would later identify himself as Abram, Rond goes over and listens to him as he talks to the group.

Rond listens with suspicion to what Abram says. "Although I can believe you based upon what you said. This is not the normal way for Marcus to normally identify himself."

Looking around and counting noses Rond says to Abram, "Our party has changed recently, but I do believe that we have everyone that we need for this meeting."

Feng
Friday June 20th, 2003 8:10:13 AM

Feng also thinkgs along the same lines as Tratain and detects evil. His immediate thought is that the man worked for the assasins Feng watched while he was undercover for Marcus. Revenge was sworn before all the assasins fell.

OOC: Sorry about my absence yesterday. I was informed of the policy changes just before I was going to post.

Renik
Friday June 20th, 2003 12:35:43 PM

The rogue looks at the man with a nuetral expression.

"He'll have the map to the sunken treasure ship, will he? Good for him. As you say, we have a party to attend first, so we'll see you after that. Where should we meet you?"

To Bill he says with a wink "Never let the boss push you around, that's what I say." Then he remembers that now he's the boss, in a manner of speaking. "Oh, uh, unless that is..." he tails off lamely.

Neither Feng nor Tratain detect any evil in the man. Feng doesn't think this man is one of the assassins he was watching, but with that profession, who knows?

From Bill's carefully filed memories comes an image of this man on the streets of Plateau City just before the crisis of the death of a god. In this memory, Abram is kneeling in the street, talking to playing children, clad in shining plate and shield, both bearing the elaborate crest of a paladin knight of Domi. That man was all smiles and laughter, though.

Abram turns to Renik slowly, and replies, "He said it was no rush. I can wait for you here. I have a small camp back off the road with the permission of the local guard."

He stops for a moment, and weighs Tratain with his eyes before continuing.

"Things have... heated up in Plateau City, but I should leave that explanation to the boss. Oh, I was told you tell you that the sunken ship is in caves bordering the sea, so don't worry about acquiring waterbreathing."

In listening to Abram, Tratain begins to wonder. He doesn't seem to be lying, but this flat lack of passion doesn't seem to be a ploy, either.

Have a nice weekend all.)

Bill Troublefinder
Friday June 20th, 2003 8:06:19 PM

Bill smiles at the metaphoric proximity of Renik's foot to his mouth. "Right, Renki," he says dryly.

He approaches Abram, and looks up at him. "Sir, you shall not sleep in your camp any longer. You must come with us, mister Abram, for I know there is more than one extra bed for guests at my family's home. And we should be honored to have a man such as you under our roof. You can meet my brothers and sisters, and cousins, and all. And have some good home cookin', too."

Bill steps back, and speaks to all his friends. "Come, let's go to my house. I'll introduce you all, and my family knows that I was going to be bringing you by soon. It's only a mile or so walk from here."

If they are game, Bill leads the way, and begins chatting about his family, and neighbors, and the ol' swimmin' hole, and youthful adventures...

Tratain
Saturday June 21st, 2003 11:56:50 PM

Tratain thinks to himself "This man does not wear the tain of evil on himself, but something is not quite right with him regardless. Maybe an accident of some sort?"

If Abram accepts Bills offer to come stay at his home Tratain will attempt to engage him in conversation, to learn what he can about the man, his past, why he acts the way he does now.

Draax
Sunday June 22nd, 2003 4:45:29 AM

Since Marcus and the messenger does not mind waiting until after Bill's part, Draax stops himself from suggesting that the group go to see Marcus right away. Getting himself into a party mood, Draax goes along with the others to Bill's house.

Renik
Sunday June 22nd, 2003 5:38:20 PM

The rogue smiles at Bill's offer. Generous to a fault, that halfling.

"Ah, an evening of wine women and song. And if most of the women are likely to be a little on the small side, well, you have proved countless times that the best things come in small packages, Mr Troublefinder. To the party!"

Lian Siannodel, of the Emerald Talons
Sunday June 22nd, 2003 9:08:45 PM

A slender elven male turns the corner onto Bill's street.
His clotheing is humble and well worn, but not poor looking. He carries no visible weapons.
The monk looks at the address on the invitation.

When he sees Bill, he'll wave.

"Hello there Mister Troublefinder, I hear it is someones birthday. I can't stay long, the Talons are heading off to our next destination. It has been awhile since I saw you last.... we fought that ugly black armored fellow with the bloody axe. Was that you? Sometimes my memory slips."
The elf grins slightly. "I remember my thirtieth birthday, about 120, a 126 years ago."

Rond
Monday June 23rd, 2003 2:40:40 AM

Giving Bill the hairy eyeball, Rond decides that Bill must know something that Rond does not. Rond was only trying to point out that the messenger had not given the customary greeting of showing a ring from Marcus.

Assuming that Abram accepts Bill's offer, Rond escorts Abram to Bill's familial home.

On the road to revelry - DM Ian
Monday June 23rd, 2003 6:00:57 PM

Abram looks down at Bill, and unbuckles his outer belt, from which hangs his longsword and dagger.

"I would not enter your home with any suspicions about danger. I... don't need... these."

With that, Abram hands his longsword and dagger over to Bill, and follows the group towards the party.

As the group walks through the Hamlet, none of the usual foot traffic can be seen. However, a low hubbub of laughter and conversation can be heard as the party approaches their destination.

How do you choose to enter?

Tratain
Tuesday June 24th, 2003 12:06:14 AM

Not wanting to be rude Tratain waits for Bill to extend an invitation to come into his home. When invited in he will enter after Bill with the rest of the group

Bill Troublefinder  d20+11=15
Tuesday June 24th, 2003 2:49:46 AM

Bill tells Abram, "I trust you, and you may keep your weapons and such, if you wish." Only if Abram insists on turning them over will he wrap them, and place them in his bag of holding for safekeeping, scribbling on a piece of parchment, "These belong to Abram of Domi," and placing the final wrap around said parchment.

"Yes, Renik, what you might call concentrated fun!" the halfling laughs in rejoinder. Then, in a semi-mock serious tone (a rare tone, indeed), he says, "And if you don't behave yourself with my sisters, you know who you'll answer to." Then, waiting a beat, he fills in the one he means. "My mother!" Although he seems to mean this in jest, Renik perhaps notes an involuntary shudder on Bill's part as he considers the import of what he just said.

Before he can reflect further on this, however, the elf shows up with the invitation, and he listens, hands on hips. "Well, I should think that my memory would start slipping after my hundred fiftieth or so, myself!" Then, his mouth turning to a smile, he says, "Well come, Lian. These are my friends, here." He pulls from a pouch an ancient coin. "And, yes, of course I recall our little trip together. I've held on to a few of the coins." He flips the gold coin so that it prescribes a parabolic arc, ending up roughly in front of Lian, should he decide to catch it [rolled a 15 to send it his direction]. Bill introduces Lian around to each of his friends, and Abram, and tells of the time when he took off with Lian and a few other adventurers to go after a rather powerful fellow, and many undead. "No spectres, though, thank the gods, and the god!" He lets Lian fill them in on the details, should he desire.

When Rond looks askance at Bill, he hears in his mind, 'Abram was a paladin of Domi, before the usurper cheated. Children loved him. We should honor him, I think, Rond.'

The almost-thirty-year-old hobbit urges his friends onward as he approaches his house, an oval door in the side of a hill, nestled among other such. "Don't hold back, Tratain, c'mon! Sounds like someone's beat us there!"

He is so happy to be coming home. So many letters he has sent to his family members, and, in the last couple of years, he has not been able to spend much time with them.

"Papa! Mama! I'm home! Brought some friends!"

Rond
Tuesday June 24th, 2003 7:25:28 AM

Rond spirits begin to lift as the party comes closer to what he guesses to be Bill's home. Having heard so many stories about Bill's home, Rond is looking forward to meeting all these people that Bill quotes from.

Once the group pulls up in front of the home Rond chuckles. "I was beginning to think that your home might have been made out of a pie pan!"

In to the maelstrom - Dm Ian
Tuesday June 24th, 2003 8:21:18 PM

As the party comes up the walkway to the house where Bill's family lives, a rustle at one of the window curtains gives away action just a few seconds before the front door flies open, and halflings pour out into the front yard.

Sveral halflings, unmistakably of Bill's family by their features, come out of the house, neatly sidestepping the flow of excited kids that pour out with little shouts of "He's home! He's home! Bill's home from the Wold!"

It takes a few minutes before the laughter and hugging dies down enough to swap names around the group, and even as the introductions begin, a strong woman's voice comes from inside, declaring, "Aw, let em all come in! Plenty of time for talking, and you know they've come a long way!"

Even chastized, the kids are asking all sorts of questions of each of the adventurers, as the adults shake hands and name themselves.

Sirka is the oldest of the siblings except for Bill, it seems, and throws her arms around her brother in greeting. She steps back for a moment as her husband Banto steps up to shake Bill's hand, and tries to corral the two twins leading the charge of the children around everyone's feet.

Tamos, introduces himself with a wave from the doorway, with one arm wrapped around Susanna, and the waving hand bearing a sweetly smoking polished pipe carved from a deep orange wood.

Skirra gets to the group second, hugging the adventurers and handing each of you a small steaming baked tart even as you meet her, and are ushered inside.

Laila and Jenna, two more sisters, chase down the kids with a smile as the group passes inside. In particular, Laila seems to be helping little Biko the most, who is almost standing well right on the edge of the flowerbed, and weaving off balance with each happy step after the other children.

Its obvious that members of at least two other families are around as well.

Moving in to the house itself, the party finds themselves in a large, central room with a high ceiling, comfortable even for the taller members of the group. All around are halflings working towards the party preparations, and a great cheer is raised as you come into the room.

Coming through the whirling mass of bodies is Mama Mona, pulling a padded baking glove off as she takes a last few quick steps to hug Bill, and kiss him on the cheek.

"Its so good to see you again! Everything is almost ready, my Bill, so introduce me to your friends! Oh, Bill has written so much about you all. Well, is that Hobbes fellow here? I have to meet that man with the 'dour face and the thoughtful heart'... thats what you wrote about him, ain't it, Bill?"

Then, without missing a beat, she looks over the group and continues, "Oh, and I know you Renik, you rascal, you!"

With this, another of Bill's brothers, bright-eyed little Rombi, pulls a stool from a nearby table over to Mama, and offers her a hand up so she can greet everyone 'properly' as they introduce themselves, which apparently involves a hug and a kiss. Renik, however, gets kissed, looked at, kissed, look at, and kissed again, sending a number of the onlookers into laughter.

As the introductions go on, (and please feel free to do them in character), the crowd parts again, as a calm older halfling walks out from a connecting hallway, smiles at his son, and shakes Bill's hand warmly. This must be his father, Mecko Troublefinder.

All around are mouthwatering pies, arrangements of fruit, and wonderfully smelling dishes.

Draax
Tuesday June 24th, 2003 9:52:32 PM

Draax looks on a the swarm of halflings that assaults Bill. He smile as he thinks about how he thought humans breed like rabbits, but they have nothing on halflings.

He looks at the group of non halfling well wishers and marvels at Bill's assortment of friends. When he remembers to close his mouth, Draax makes his introductions. The half-elf perform a half of a bow and says, "Hello everyone, my name is Draax and although I remember seeing some of you around town since I came here to live with my aunt, I do believe that this is the first time that I have had the pleasure of being in your home. Thank you for inviting me."

Looking around Draax spots the pies and other goodies. "Bill is always bragging about how great his mothers pies are. If no one minds I think I will try some now while Bill is still occupied." Draax goes over the food and helps himself to pies and other treats.

Tuesday June 24th, 2003 9:52:50 PM

Feeling uncomfortable around large social gatherings of strangers, the half-orc paladin takes time to unsaddle his war horse, Degg. Though it seems he has found friends now, he remembers back when it was just him and Degg. Traveling wherever the road took them. It was hard dealing with the prejudice that came with his fathers blood but he survived.

Feng rubs Degg's neck and leaves the horse to graze. The half-orc enters the home hoping to get lost in the crowd.

Tratain
Tuesday June 24th, 2003 11:36:50 PM

Tratain introduces himself to all of Bill's Family members who present themselves, shaking hands and attempting to remember names and faces of Bill's Family. Tratain accepts the steaming tart from Skirra and begins eating it, "MmMMmm, this..is really...good" He manages between bites as he is ushered inside.

Tratain introduces himself to Bill's Mother and shares in the laughter when she greets Renik. And then introduces himself to Bill's Father, he says "I have known Bill only a short while compared to the rest, but i can tell he is a good person, I am proud to travel with him and the others."

After the Introductions he follows Draax to the food, "Bill's Mother makes really good pies you say? I think i will have to try some then, but from the aroma filling the house I don't think I will be disapointed! Did you just hear something? I swear i just heard a dog barking and what sounded like a bear."

Flea
Wednesday June 25th, 2003 12:50:30 AM

Flea nods her thanks to Skirra when handed the tiny treat. She breaks it in two, giving half to Luke and half to Yorrick. After licking the crumbs from her fingers, she takes off her short boots and places them next to the wall near the front door.

"Happy Birthday, Bill" whispers the gnome, blushing, as she gives the halfling a little kiss on first one cheek, and then the other. "We have not been introduced, but I heard you at the Theosophy Debate where you spoke so eloquently for the unknown god."

The tips of the young rogues pointed ears burn crimson, but the clear blue eyes in the heart shaped face meet those of the small warrior as she hands him a roll of parchment tied off with a blade of Plains grass. "Should you ever encounter a gelatinous cube and vanquish it, this might come in handy", says Flea before moving aside to give the next well-wisher a chance to speak with the party boy.

(If you would like to enter before tomorrows post, as your character steps through the fireplace in the GG, they appear stepping out of a small alley between a house and a barn in Windhorn Hamlet, within sight of the open door leading into Bill's family's house.

As of tomorrows posting, I will include an entrance/exit point to the party, and will continue each day until the end.)

Rond

Smiling continuously as the family introduces itself. Rond enjoys himself as he immerses himself in what family life could be like. Feeling like a Giant in a candy shop, Rond moves slowly throughout the household. Making sure to take extra care for looking for wee ones that might get under foot.

When Bill's mom makes her presence known, Rond goes out of his way to come over, pick her up, hug her, and say hi. "You've raised a son to be proud of".

Renik
Wednesday June 25th, 2003 12:51:19 PM

"A rascal? Me?" gasps Renik in mock horror. "Bill, what have you been telling this beautiful sister of yours?"

He enjoys the kissing greatly, and ensures that he is introduced to as many of Bill's female friends and relations as possible, a glass of red wine appearing in his hand as if by magic.
