Just as the three outside decide to come back in they catch some movement out of the corder of their eyes.
Two fist-sized stones come hurtling by. On lands about 6 ft from them and the other goes crashing through the window and into the inn. As both of them hit the ground two more deafening booms occur.
Bralin, Turin, and Syr make Fortitude saves DC 15 or be deafened.
Gordo is waiting for the return of the scouts when the window nearby shatters and this fist-sized rock comes through and strikes the floor with a boom. Make Fortitude save DC15 or be deafened.
As the boom goes off in the inn Bog and Tiree also catch some movement out of the corners of their eyes and duck as they see several things flying through the air at them. They hear several things hit the ground and then the room starts filling up with smoke. as the smoke starts fillong the room there is the sound of several coins striking and rolling along the florr and then suddenly the room is pitch black.
Tionel Friday April 25th, 2003 7:45:01 PM
Not being too courageous, Tionel slips into the kitchen and slams the door behind him. "Just calm down, ladies... something weird's going on in there. I'm sure they'll be able to handle themselves." He peeks back through the door into the main room and sees merely smoke... "Whats' going on..?" he mumbles.
Gordo d20+6=12 Sunday April 27th, 2003 9:24:46 AM
Gordo is standing right next to the thunderstone when it explodes, and is instantly deafened.
He signals to Drew, who is standing further back in the cellar, that his hearing his gone. He retreats back inside the door, holding it slightly ajar so he can see anyone approaching. If he sees any non-party member approach he slams the door shut and locks it.
Syr d20+7=8 Sunday April 27th, 2003 2:20:46 PM
As the stones fly by Syr turns to see the source of the rocks. As it explodes, his hands move to his ears in pain. Looking at Turin and Bralin his voice becomes more loud as he realizes that he can't hear himself, "We should Probably GET BACK INSIDE!" With that he stumbles toward the front door.
(Fortitude: Geez, two natural ones in a row)
Turin d20+4=18 Sunday April 27th, 2003 10:40:24 PM
Turin winces at the sound, but manages to keep his hearing. He quickly turns towards where it seems the stones came from, running towards them. "Come with me!" He calls out to Syr and Bralin.
Bralin d20+8=17 Monday April 28th, 2003 8:05:17 AM
Bralin grimaces at the noise, but shakes off the ringing in his ears.
He grimaces still further when Syr goes inside while Turin runs down the street.
"INSIDE!" he roars to Turin, then he turns and helps Syr through the door. The dwarf leaves the door ajar for Turin, pulls his axe, and scans the smoky, darkened room (Darkvision?) in an attempt to see where the bad guys are.
Tiree d20+10=30 Monday April 28th, 2003 3:58:37 PM
Moving slowly and quietly, and using a hand for guidance, Tiree moves in the direction she thinks the door to the basement is in. Upon finding it, (if she does), she stands in front of it, not budging.
Move silently 30 (nat 20)
Bog Monday April 28th, 2003 5:39:19 PM
Bog grumbles, "Naow lidies, don' ya go pickin' on a pooor d'fnslessen rat! 'e smills be'r den you all do. Awwww criminelly wot ?" He spins around to see smoke pouring into the room.
"Rats, indeed!" he saays as he puts a sleeve up to his mouth to avoid breathing smoke and then rushes toward the cellar door as all goes black.
DM Kent Monday April 28th, 2003 6:13:50 PM
Tionel rushes by Bog and Tiree and into the kitchen not even registering that the cooks, that moments ago were afraid of the rat, have shed their aprons and are wearing leather armor and carring bared swords and ahve turned from facing the basement stairs to face you.
Tiree knows the basement is accessed by stairs in the kitchen. She also knows that Tionel just bolted through there and closed the door. Both tionel and Bog are able to find the door easily as you were right there and as you bolt through you find yourselves out of the dark in moments and in in a fully lit kitchen.
In the moments that it takes you for your eyes to adjust you see that Tionel is currently being faced down by four well armed women, who are most definitely NOT cooks.
Turin takes off down the street as he hears Bralin's shout. He goes about 30 yards when he sees four figures standing around a small, mounted, crossbow looking thing.
A bit behind them in the dark Bralin hears the soft whoosh of the fireplace entry being activated and then a suprised comment that is immediately hushed up. " Wut! Why's it so dar..."
Drew hears the hubub in the kitchen from his post halfway up the stairs. Make a listen check DC 14
Turin (AC 15, 16 to the nearest figure) d20+6=11 2d4(2+3)+3=8 Monday April 28th, 2003 6:39:53 PM
Turin charges towards the four figures, attacking the first one with his spiked chain. The swing is strong, but easily deflected by any armor.
Drew d20=14 Monday April 28th, 2003 6:45:02 PM
Drew makes his listen check and then casts obscuring mist out into the bar starting at teh top of the stairs.
Tionel d20+9=15 Monday April 28th, 2003 11:57:27 PM
Tionel quickly says some weird words, waving his hands in front of him... and nothing too fancy happens. No lasers or nothing... only the truly perceptive might notice that his skin is slightly darker, and denser... (Barkskin... woohoo!) "Uh...ladies, can't we talk about this? I mean, if it's wine you're interested in, perhaps we can just have some over dinner, at a nice restaurant?" He tries to smile charmingly. (Diplomacy check: 15)

Carl Tuesday April 29th, 2003 8:02:00 AM
OOC: Kent, could we have a map? I'm afraid I have no idea who is where now. Thanks!
Bralin (ac19, shield of faith) Tuesday April 29th, 2003 8:06:13 AM
Bralin chants an incantation and then works his way along the wall toward the voices he heard.
He gives Syr a tug as he goes.
Breaking out of the darkness, the dwarf skirts the dark/light border as he angles toward where the voices were.
Bog Tuesday April 29th, 2003 8:37:59 AM
Bog stops and takes a step back, "Mmmmm....youz lidies woodn' b' single wood ya? Hmmmmph....A'll givya a rat!"
He cocks his head and claps his hand to his elbows. "G'mee won...gimme two...gimme dem green n' bloo....sctter scutter lttle blightahs cross da wall down da hall n up Thar Skirts!"

Moving Halfway up the stairs.
Gordo (HP 24) d20+3=17 d8+5=10 Tuesday April 29th, 2003 2:59:10 PM
(OOC: Kent, thanks for the map. I'm not sure how Gordo got to the Stage though. I stated a couple of times that he was hanging back with Drew as a last line of defense whilst the others scouted, and that he was holding the cellar door ajar keeping an eye out for intruders or his companions. Unless you have an objection I'll place him back at the cellar door. I'm assuming this would mean he was not in range of the Thunderstone that deafened him either.)
Seeing that his companions are facing four armed opponents, Gordo steps out through the cellar doorway and slams the door behind him.
"Now then, ladies, this is no good!" he grins. "Who's going to cook our breakfast if we have to slap you all silly?" Then, taking a step forward he launches a swift hard punch at the nearest (C1?) (Hits AC 17 for 10 HP subdual(Power Attack, -3 to hit, +3 dmg).
******Carl, If Gordo was looking out for the folks that went outside then he was by the exit door near the stage. If not fine but there is no door to the cellar, just a stairwell down.
Syr (Lesser Natural Armor) Tuesday April 29th, 2003 3:09:35 PM
Lost in the darkness and unable to hear a thing he stumbles around confused. Feeling a tug on his shirt he reaches out to the dwarf and follows closely keeping a hand on his shoulder. Realizing trouble is approaching, he takes a moment to prepare for combat and concentrates on toughening his skin.
Tionel Tuesday April 29th, 2003 4:49:03 PM
After his nice, cordial attempt to woo the ladies, Tionel is utterly shocked by Gordo's haymaker. He gapes and gasps, "Gordo! Never hit a lady!"
DM kent d20=10 Tuesday April 29th, 2003 10:24:33 PM
(ooc Guys and gals, sorry about no post tonight I had an emergency come up. I should get a post done by 6PM est tomorrow)
Gordo Wednesday April 30th, 2003 4:39:07 AM
Winking at Tionel whilst weaving and feinting, Gordo grins "Now normally I'd agree with you son, but when said lady is waving a sword at me, I tend to get a mite defensive. Anyhow, surely it's better for me to give her a little lovetap in the guts than try to bash her over the head with a spiked chain like Turin here? Not that I'm complaining, Turin old son! Don't mind me, you go right ahead!"
(OOC: Thanks Kent. Gordo is standing by the cellar entrance then, attempting to block the route down.)

Drew casts his spell and a thick mist fills the kitchen and moes its way out into a bit of the tavern area limiting everyones vision. (everyone in th kitchen or the grey spotted area is now -2 to hit)
Turin charges into the nearest figure O2(OUTSIDE the INN) but misses.
Bralin and Syr move out of the darkness and move toward the sounds.
Bog casts his spell and is rewarded by the momentary sight of 8 bats as they swarm around the heads of C2 and C4.
Gordo attacks C1 and connects (AC17) while Tionel debates the finer points of diplomacy and appears to be failing.

Bralin and Syr hear movement in the dark coming toward them and then herar a thump, a scream and a series of thumps and curses and someone falls up the stairs and then falls into a table.
Turin recovers from his miss enough to avoid his nearest opponent's strike but winces as two more strikes from the others connect, opening a gash in his side (10 points)
C3 attacks Tionel with a sloppy strike due to the distractions of seeing bats and the mist and missies with her thrust.
C1 attacks Gordo fiercly lunging in and misses badly hampered by some apron strings that she seems to be tangled in.
C2 and C4 both move forfard waving their swords around trying to hit Bog and some how manage to hit the wizard (8 points)
Drew who had been listening pretty closely to the cellar hears the slightest muffled ring of an individual bell from one of Turin's traps.
Tionel d20+4=21 d6+1=5 Wednesday April 30th, 2003 10:23:54 PM
"Dangit, I hate hurting a lady, but you leave me no choice!" So saying, Tionel's scimitar flashes out (move equivalent action to draw a sword?), and he cuts at the woman fighting him, his sword biting deep into her side (AC 21, for 5 damage). He winces... "Sure we can't talk this over a glass of wine?" he asks her, his eyes looking at her full of anguish.
Gordo (-2 to hit from mist) d20+4=24 d20+4=21 2d8(2+8)+4=14 Thursday May 1st, 2003 3:57:06 AM
Suddenly lost in the mist, Gordo stops talking and focuses on the sounds and shapes around him. He waits, holds back, then...
POW! He rams a straight left right at the attacker's chin (C1), with all his weight behind it (Crit hit, (AC 24/21) for 14 points).
Bog d4+1=5 d20+9=23 d20+9=12 Thursday May 1st, 2003 10:07:53 AM
As kitchen workers C2 and C4 run forward and attack they are swarmed by bats that bite at their hands, faces and eyes. [5 Damage each]
Bog stumbles backward against the wall, a clean cut in his fine robe now seeming with an off-colored spreading crimson. He stares intensely at the bats. He manages to successfully complete his spell ensuring the bats do indeed stay, but his effort to maintain their future presence fails as he holds his chest in pain.
He utters something quickly and tosses a quick pinch from his sack. [Cast Spider Climb Defensively]
[Made first concentration check to successfully summon bats. Failed second one to keep them around. Per the spell, they will last for 2 more rounds.]
Bralin (ac19,shield of faith) d20+5=6 Thursday May 1st, 2003 10:52:44 AM
Hearing the commotion on the stairwell, Bralin steps over to it and with a mighty swing, cleaves through the darkness about where the voice might be.
The stairwell bannister disintigrates under the blow. But the dwarf's blade finds no flesh.
(-2 atk due to darkness? nat 1, never mind)
Drew Thursday May 1st, 2003 12:26:03 PM
Drew moving like lighting moves to the sound of the bell.
Syr (Deaf, Lesser Natural Armor) d20+5=9 Thursday May 1st, 2003 1:42:31 PM
Emerging from the darkness, the elf stays close to Bralin. As he sees the dwarf wield his axe and hit something, he takes his axe and aims near the same spot. With a wild swing, he connects with nothing. Looking at Bralin he yells, "I ASSUME WE KNOW WHAT WE ARE WE DOING?"
Turin (AC 17, 13 HP) d20=17 d20+6=13 2d4(3+1)+3=7 Friday May 2nd, 2003 1:17:17 AM
Turin swings at the two that hit him, feinting an attack at one, then striking at the other (Bluff check 17, removes any Dex bonus unless they roll higher on a sense motive check (wis default), hits AC 13, damage 7). He focuses his defense at the one who hit hardest, as well as his attack.

Drew continues to rush to the sound of the bell.

DM Kent Tuesday May 6th, 2003 6:45:28 PM
Drew rushes the rest of the way down the stairs in to the cellar and sees nothing amiss at first and then notices some slight puffs of flour appearing about every 3 feet or so moving toward the purple wine.
Bralin and Syr attack the stairwell causing some serious damage to the ralings and the support wall, but neither hear nor see anything further.
Turin feints at O1 and strikes out at O4, connecting only because of his feint (AC 16)
Gordo lashes out with a haymaker that momentarily sends C1 backpedalling trying to clear his head.
Bog casts his spell and starts dancing on the cieling.
Tionel lashes out at his opponent who simply smiles at him as his blade slices into her.

Turin's opponents circle around him and step up for a butt kicking contest as all four connect with their attacks, opening a myriad of wounds on the bard's body (17 points)
After Gordo's opponent clears her head for a moment she lashes out with her sword nailing him in the side for 7 points.
The two bat engulfed ladies take a moment to swing around their heads trying to clear the air over them of the bats, but manage to connect with nothing.
After smiling at Tionel his opponent then lunges in to where he believes Tionel is and is rewarded by a solid thunk as he sword bites in to his flesh. (5 points)
Having moved into the dark Bralin and Syr see nothing and hear nothing over their rain of splinters.
Down in the cellar the puffs of flour stop and nothing seems to be moving anywhere. the air is still.
Turin (Not a Bard, a Rogue/Fighter. Jeez.) d100=24 Tuesday May 6th, 2003 10:09:19 PM
Turin falls over, too wounded to do anything, slowly bleeding to death.

"Aahhh!!!" Tionel yelps in agony. Dang, he hates when people do that sorta thing...He slashes out sideways, hopefully drawing a line of red across her midsection (AC 16, 7 damage woo!). "Damn it, I hate fighting women!" <especially those stronger than me...>
Bog Wednesday May 7th, 2003 4:32:58 AM
Bog indeed scurries up the side of the wall and onto the ceiling. Blood continues to spill from his wound and dribbles and splats on those underneath.
The bats now are trying to avoid being swatted and only do 1 point of damage each to the ladies 2 & 4 this round.
Bog meanwhile crawls across the ceiling and through the cellar doorway heading downstairs...still on the ceiling. When he gets downstairs, he hangs out (literally).
Gordo (17 HP) d20+6=20 d8+2=3 Wednesday May 7th, 2003 4:43:09 AM
Gordo winces under the force of the sword blow, but keeps on fighting. He jabs another punch at his opponent, but as blood flows freely from the wound in his shoulder he can feel the sword cut robbing his blow of power (AC 20 for 3 HP).
Bralin (ac19,shield of faith) Wednesday May 7th, 2003 8:51:32 AM
Bralin ponders the situation. He doesn't know where the enemy is. With this guy screaming in his ear, the enemy surely knows where he is. However, he does know where the enemy is going.
Bralin gives Syr another tug, steps back into the light and jogs back to the entryway.
Idly wondering if the other warrior ever came back inside, he pokes his head out of the door and looks up the street with his darkvision.

Turin fals to the ground with a steady but slow trickle of blood leaking out of his multiple wounds and pooling around him. As he falls the four snicker and step back behind their portable catapult.
Bralin pokes his head through the door and (spot check DC 10 rolled an 18 for you) sees what apears to be a body fall to the ground with four other bodies tanding round it.
Drew watches closely and again sees a puff of lour and now just the smallest part of a shoe's outline can be seen from the flour. someone seems to perhaps be standing right in front of the two casks of purple wine.
Bog makes it downstairs and sees Drew staring intently at what seems to be nothing but the two kegs of wine surrounded by a flor covered in flour.
Tionel does just manage to hit his opponent and elicits a curse from her as C3's blade slices neatly through his sleave and just missing slicing open his arm.
Gordo again pummels his opponent and feels the swish of air from C1's blade as it whips by his exposed cheek.
C2 an C4 again try and remove the flying rodnets from around their heads. C2 has some success as she connects slicing though the bats for 7 points.
Tionel (29 hp, AC 15) d20+4=13 d6+1=2 Wednesday May 7th, 2003 11:49:52 PM

He raises an amused eyebrow at Tionel's verse, and quips "Dear Domi, keep our bodies safe from the blades of our foes, and our ears safe from the poetry of our allies!"
Syr d20+4=13 d20+9=21 d8+4=7 Thursday May 8th, 2003 3:37:11 PM

Bog sees Drew's intent stare and looks at the flour around the floor and gets the picture. He quiet creeps down the wall and grabs a small sack of flour himself and then goes back to the ceiling over the wine area.
He looks to see anything [Spot 7] but does not. He'll wait there another round looking to Drew subtly for any ideas.
Meanwhile the bats flurry and fly around the sword shots, only getting nicked but still keep flying in their faces for another point of damage each. Then as quickly as they came, they dissipate in the cracks in a puff of smoke.

Nodding to Tionel Gordo says "Right you are, son, I'll take care of things here", and swings for the woman in front of him, aiming for a disabling strike to her exposed throat (AC 17, 6 HP, Stunning Fist, beat Fort DC 16 or stunned for 1 round).
(OOC: Please note, all damage Gordo ever does is subdual, unless explicitly stated otherwise.)
Bralin (ac21,shield of faith, fighting defensively) d20+5=24 d10+4=12 Tuesday May 13th, 2003 7:46:55 AM
Bralin's roar turns into a low, continuous bass rumble. The dwarf prepares himself to join the rock in eternal slumber.
He swings his axe high, again slamming solidly into his enemy (hit AC 24 for 12 hp damage). Perhaps one of his enemy can join him.
Turin (-6HP, stabilized) d100=9 Tuesday May 13th, 2003 12:48:08 PM
Turin stops bleeding so badly, but is still hurt.
Bog Tuesday May 13th, 2003 4:42:32 PM
Bog growls, "Nyaoow, yoo lssin here, sonny, yous n a gittin pan o' mah raackit. Dis har stuff'n ain' good'n fer ya yoo hear?"
He waves his hands again and babbles something and out of his sleeve pops an Unseen Servant, which he directs to shut off the tap and KEEP shutting it off. He directs the badger to go after the invisible creature in the vicinity the voice came from. Then he begins spinning around on the ceiling in a circle during which he releases flour in a wide birth all over the room.

(OOC Scott yes one did auto with his roll and the other I forgot to add his +2 flanking bonus before I rolled)
Tionel siwngs and misses as he can't really decide whether he is coming or going. Missing makes his decision and he bolts for the door and outside, opening himself to an attack of opportunity, that swings right by his head but only manages to clip a few hairs from his head.
Gordo's opponent shrugs off his punch and is joined by one of her partners and they both swing at him through the mist. Gordo just senses both of the thrusts and is able to some how dosge both though his clothing is a bit more airconditioned than before.
Bralin slaps an ax up against the side of O1 and watches with satisfaction as he drops to the ground. O2 takes a swing back at Bralin but as he swung blood sprayed him in the face and his thrust went wide of the mark.
Syr, feeling a bit perforated lashes out only to find that he has forgotten how to strike anything. O3 and O4 swing back and O4, from his flanking position manages to just connect again for 3 points)
Bog sends his unseen servant to close the spigot and watches the now full vial vanish and the wine flow cease without a wasted drop.
The badger starts making its way through the maze of barrels when Bog starts spinning.
Just out of the range of the flour, Bog sees a person come totally into view. He has the crystal vial in his hand. He is very flashily dressed and very haughty looking from what you can see of his face as it is masked. He looks up at Bog and motions toward the cask. Helpful fellows aren't they? Well I would love to stay and play with you and your friends, but I think we should be going. Tossing a small playing card to you he turns and faces Drew. Well, we have what I came for. Shall we be off?"
With that said both he and Drew vanish from the cellar. The card he tossed on the floor below you is a 7 of Diamonds.
Suddenly the mist upstairs vanishes.
Bralin (ac21,shield of faith, fighting defensively) d20+5=10 Tuesday May 13th, 2003 9:51:14 PM
Continuing his basso humming, Bralin turns to the next thief.
With the momentum of his axe slowed due to passing through the body of his previous foeman, the dwarf cannot build sufficient speed, and his opponent easily dodges the blade.
(Atk O2 - a lousy ac 10)
Turin (-6HP) Tuesday May 13th, 2003 11:07:27 PM
Turin lies on the ground, unconscious.
Tionel 2d8(1+5)+5=11 d8+5=7 Tuesday May 13th, 2003 11:25:05 PM
Outside, Tionel notices the other figures, but makes a beeline for the unconscious form of Turin. If he manages to get to him this turn, he slips him a potion of cure light wounds. (Ignore the roll, I hit 2 by accident; 7 hp would be cured, Turin would be at 1, if Tionel manages to get to him this round.)
Syr d20+7=27 2d8(1+7)+8=16 d20+7=15 d8+4=8 Wednesday May 14th, 2003 3:55:30 AM
Stepping over Turin, an upward slash at O3 nearly disembowels him. Out of the corner of his eye, he notices Tionel racing to help. "Quickly, help Turin!"
He tries to stay between any attackers and Turin motionless form.
(I messed the attack roll up totally during my excitement over my 2nd critical ever, sorry. Attack rolls of 27 and 15 damage of 24)
Gordo d20+6=8 Wednesday May 14th, 2003 7:00:45 AM
Concentrating his attack on his original target, Gordo swings again but misses hopelessly.
"Oops!" he laughs as his punch sails wide. "I reckon I need a bit more practice, eh lass?"
Bog Wednesday May 14th, 2003 7:01:18 AM
Bog races down the wall and shouts angily, "Ah Bg, Danbarnin n wiskrsin beg gummit tarkintun wayslapper gin all 'round da cruckercroaker!"
As he continues on, he picks up the card, tears it into little pieces and stomps up and down on them. Noticing the badger running by squeaking, he kicks it, "Ah shuddup!"

Tionel can indeed get to Turin this round, but opens himself up to an attack of opportunity as he passes by O2 who takes a half-hearted swing at the druid but misses. Tionel eases the potion down The rogue's throat and is rewarded by by a gasp or two and a near spewing upon as Turin is returned to bare conciousness.
Bralin plesed with his first strike realizes that he may have taken too much pleasure in it as his second strike goes astray while his opponent's manages to slice a bit off of his cloak.
Syr's strike does indeed disembowel O3 and his opponent slides to the ground looking at his oozing entrails. O4 shocked by watching two of his fellows sliced to ribbons badly misses Syr with his attack.
While Bog curses kicks and rips, Gordo grins as he is about to bear the brunt of the kitchen defense from the attack of the two cook impersonators, who can now clearly see thier target. However one of the ladies in her hurry to attack fouls her weapon in the apron she never got removed and ends up ripping it to shreds as she clears her weapon. C3 however manages to get in a clean shot at the monk. (7 points)
Tionel d20+6=23 d6+1=6 Wednesday May 14th, 2003 11:28:49 PM
"Here, drink this!" Tionel takes out and drops a potion of cure moderate wounds onto Turin's lap. (movement action) "Fiends! Prepare to fall before my...er...sword-thing. Scimitar!" He might not be too hot on sword names...but Tionel charges at the opponent who barely missed him and drives his scimitar deep nonetheless! (AC 23, doing 6 damage) He does leave himself more open to recrimination though. (AC -2, now ='s 13)
Syr (Deaf, Lesser Natural Armor, AC20) d20+7=22 d8+4=10 Thursday May 15th, 2003 3:07:42 AM
The elf pauses a moment to take stock of his surroundings. He looks at his opponents and their armament trying to assess the situation. (What equipment are they carrying). He also spares a glance to the object they used to lob 'grenades' into the inn checking to see if there is any unused ammunition for the device lying around. Finally, he sees the brave dwarf fall, without another pause he renews his attack on his remaining foe with a wicked slice...(hit AC 22 for 10 points) Still deaf, he shouts at the Tionel, "HEY! Will you attack these FOOLS from behind or beside?? They sure are doing the same thing to ME!!"
Gordo (10 HP) d20+3=17 d20+3=9 d8+2=5 Thursday May 15th, 2003 4:18:50 AM
Gordo grunts in pain as yet another wound opens up on his already lacerated body.
"Bog! Drew!" He calls down to the cellar, not realising that his half orc companion has mysteriously vanished along with one of the thieves. "I could use a hand up here if you lads are not too busy!"
He launches a combination of punches at the same assailant, connecting once (AC 17 for 5HP), and hopes that he can keep these two occupied long enough for backup to arrive.
Turin (17 HP) 2d8(5+2)+3=10 Thursday May 15th, 2003 10:16:09 PM
Turin, coughing, drinks the potion dropped in his lap, and gets to his feet, grabbing his chain.
Bog Friday May 16th, 2003 12:07:01 AM
Bog stands perfectly still as someone shouts down the stares. He stares worriedly at the wine, then at the card, then at the spot where Drew was, then races up the wall and ceiling again.
He runs upstairs to the kitchen and mumbles, "BlahblahblowblowbleebleeFRippingMist!" [Obscuring Mist]
Mist and vapor again begin to emerge from the folds of Bog's robe and drift down over the room from the ceiling.
"Run, Man!" Bog shouts.
Bralin (ac19,shield of faith) d20+7=10 Friday May 16th, 2003 8:50:02 AM
Bralin involuntarily steps back as the thief's blade grates off his armor. His returning blow is weak and ill-timed.
Berating himself for his cowardice, the dwarf step forward to meet his foe.
DM Kent d20+4=8 d20+4=22 d6+2=5 Friday May 16th, 2003 5:30:17 PM
(OOC -- The Wine Cask is about the size of a 55 gallon drum (_), but made of wood. It has a single tap on the lower part of one end. The other flat end can be removed if the Cask is turned upright, though that would break the tap. The amount of wine taken won't even really be missed as it was only about 4 oz. It was more like proof of pulling the job.)
Tionel tosses a flsk in Turin's lap and swings at Bralin's opponent (O2) connecting solidly with his scimitar.
Syr visually checks out the minipult and does see several fist-sized stones laying on the ground beside it. He turns and lays a wicked strike on his opponent (O4).
Bralin wobbling a bit on his two stuby legs manages to pull himself together enough for a swing but manages only that.
Gordo manages another punch but it is obvious even to him that he needs a little help if he is going to survive these women. He is rewarded by the sounds of Bog's babbling and mist again starts to fill the kitchen. and the command to Run echoes through the room. (all people in the kitchen are now -2 to hit)
Turin finally mobile again reaches for his beloved chain and makes his way to his knees.
O2 and O4, having just watched two of their companions be killed and then get hit themeselves, now realixe they are outnumbered and turn tail to run. (Turin and Syr can get a final attack in on O4 and Bralin and tionel can get a final attack on O2 if wanted.)
As the mist fills the kitchen again the ladies try once again to cut Gordo to ribbons and one of them does manage to connect solidly. (5 points)
Bralin (ac19,shield of faith) d20+7=12 Friday May 16th, 2003 10:16:14 PM
Bralin swings his axe high over his head, and brings the blade downward in a blow that will cleave this man in twain.
At the final moment, the thief bolts, and Bralin only just manages to twist his axe to keep the edge from striking the road. The flat of the blade clatters loudly on the stone.

Tionel d20=7 d20+4=12 Saturday May 17th, 2003 6:47:48 PM
When his opponent turns away, Tionel tries to hit the retreating thief but his blade goes harmlessly high. "Right!" He swiftly moves back through the open door, and into the misty room. "Gordo, we're coming to help!" With his sword at ready, Tionel moves in... (Not attacking this round, just moving)
Gordo d20+3=23 d20+3=14 d20+3=14 d6+2=7 d6+6=11 Sunday May 18th, 2003 7:45:33 AM
"Now son" grins the big man to Bog, "What sort of servant o' Domi would I be if I went running from fights? Courage will see us through lad, fear not!" Gordo looks a mess; his body is a mass of cuts and contusions, one ear is half hanging off and his face is swollen and bloody. But the grin is still there, as he leaps forward to attack again.
This time he slams another disabling punch at his original opponent (Flurry, missed crit, 7 HP dmg, 3rd Stunning Fist of 4, DC 16 or be stunned), then tries to do the same to his second opponent (4th Stunning Fist used, missed), but fails to connect.
"Ladies" he grins, "This has been great fun, but I'd advise you to surrender now, while you still can. Your colleagues have fallen and my companions return, and they are not so gentle as I." (Diplomacy 11).

Syr (Deaf, Lesser Natural Armor) d8=1 Monday May 19th, 2003 2:26:06 AM
Syr lets his remaining opponent flee. Wincing in pain, he turns his attention to his side. With a quick flick, his axe disappears inside his purple glove. He places his left hand on his side and concentrates. I timid, weak blue glow appears between his fingers (Lesser Body adjustment, cured a BIG 1 hp). Seeing Tionel's mouth move like a shout and watching him run inside, he then turns and follows him into the inn. "WHERE ARE WE GOING??"
DM Kent d20+3=7 d20+2=7 d20+3=9 d20+2=5 Monday May 19th, 2003 5:57:10 PM
Those of you who were deaf are starting to get your hearng back but there is still a lot of ringing in your ears.
Turin Catches one of the fleeing felons as he retreats but doesn't manage to bring him down.
Tionel takes off toward the inns door and runns smack dab into Bog slamming out through the door.
Syr follow Tionel a bit more slowly and watches as her two friends nearly knock each other over.
As Bralin looks at his axe to make sure it wasn't damaged he sees the five fist sized stones still laying on the ground next to the minipult.
Gordo in the mist again feels his fist connect solidly with his first attack and then hears a satsifying thump as something drops to the ground.
He senses more than he hears, sees or feels his last opponent miss and then hears her say. "Well it has been a fun dance but I think we will take your girl friend here and depart. Perhaps we will see you later." There is now silence in the kitchen with a few soft shallow breaths coming from the floor near Gordo's feet.
Tionel Monday May 19th, 2003 9:29:08 PM
Turning his head to answer Syr, Tionel runs right into Bog and falls backwards onto his behind with a startled grunt. "Halt, lady!" he says, whipping up his sword...and seeing Bog. "Er...sorry." He blushes and stands up, looking past into the mist. "Gordo, everything okay in there?"
Bralin d20+4=6 Tuesday May 20th, 2003 8:29:51 AM
The dwarf stoops to inspect the stones, Likely of smoke and darkness, he muses with interest. (Appraise check 6)
Unable to readily identify them, he turns to the minipult. Bralin gauges if the contraption can fit through the door of the inn.
If it can't, the dwarf raises his axe and turns the machine to kindling. Then he reverently scoops up the stones into his arms, and carries them back inside.
Syr Tuesday May 20th, 2003 12:40:27 PM
Syr slows as Tionel comes to a stop. Taking a moment, he asks, "Where are Drew and Gordo?"
Gordo Tuesday May 20th, 2003 4:09:45 PM
"Aye lass, you be off if you wish. You had your job, I have mine. But if you run into my friends on the way out, they may not take such a rosy view of things, so I'd mind your back if I were you. It's been a pleasure, lass! 'Till the next time!"
And the big man grins in the thick mist, as he turns and limps down into the cellar to make sure there are no further threats to their charge. His blood drips unnoticed to the cellar steps as he descends.
"Drew? Bog? Are you down here, lads?" he enquires of the cellar's gloomy shadows, as he makes for the wine caskets.
Bog Wednesday May 21st, 2003 2:07:56 AM
Bog yipes as he ricochets off of Tionel. Shaken and scared, he races up the outside wall of the building onto the roof. There he hides.
Tionel Wednesday May 21st, 2003 2:34:02 AM
Tionel spots Bog hanging up there. "come on down, it's safe, I think."
Turin Wednesday May 21st, 2003 12:53:00 PM
Turin looks around. "Well, they got away."
DM Kent Wednesday May 21st, 2003 6:11:19 PM
Gordo goes downstairs looing for Bog and Drew and finds nothing but the torn remains of what looks to be a playing card.
Moments later he hears the sounds of several sets of footsteps up in the kitchen.
Bralin decides that with help the minipult could make it indoors though it would be a tight fit through the door.
Syr, Tionel, Turin, and Bog finally re-enter the in and head for the kitchen only to find it filled with a thick mist. And there seems to be no sign of either Gordo or Tiree. Someone doe trip over what seems to be a couple of bodies layed out on the floor. One doesn't move went bumped the other one gives a little groan.
The rest of the inn is still in darkness though the smoke seems to be almost gone.
Bog Thursday May 22nd, 2003 3:11:11 AM
Bog remains up on the roof, not coming down.
Bralin Thursday May 22nd, 2003 1:42:26 PM
Since everyone else seems inside, Bralin decides to drag the minipult over the door and leave it propped up against the wall.
Then, he picks up the stones and heads inside to see what everyone is up to.
Entering the inn, he is enclosed in darkness, and can't hear any combat.
"WHAT IS OUR STATUS?" he cries into the dark.
Turin Thursday May 22nd, 2003 4:41:38 PM
Turin chuckles at the groan. "Good, we've got someone. Who else is around?"
Gordo d20+3=19 Thursday May 22nd, 2003 5:30:20 PM
Hearing Bralin's call the big man yells back up the stairs:
"Gordo here, just about! I'm down in the cellar. All's quiet down here, but I don't see Bog or Drew anywhere. Are they upstairs with you? The wine's still here, by the looks of things" (Spot 19 to notice that some has been drained off).
Gordo takes up a guarding position in front of the wine, waiting for his companions to join him.
Bog Thursday May 22nd, 2003 5:39:40 PM
The cellar is also COVERED in flour everywhere with lots of flour footprints....even on the ceiling leading upstairs.
Syr d20+4=22 Friday May 23rd, 2003 1:09:07 AM
Syr moves over to the groaning figure. He makes a brief examination of the person's clothes, weapons, and characteristics. After a brief examination, he uses a rope from his pouch to tie the hands and feet of the attacker.
Glaring down into the attacker's face he threatens, "Who sent you? Where can we find them? What did they pay you? I want details!!!" (Intimidate 22)
Turning to Tionel with an evil grin, "Try searching that other body for any clues?"
Tionel d20+5=10 Sunday May 25th, 2003 7:54:02 PM
Tionel goes inside and makes a quick tour, running to peek downstairs and sighing at the scene below (spot 10 so I assume I can see through the mist and such), then heading back up. He nods to Syr's request and makes a good scan of it. (take 10; 15 to search it.) "Say, Syr, it helps interrogating them when they're conscious. And...y'know...this is a woman...be someone polite, at least."
Tionel Monday May 26th, 2003 1:18:04 PM
The elf sighs, looking over the woman... "Man, I can't believe we failed. Now, what do we do? I guess we'll have to return the money..."
DM kent Monday May 26th, 2003 7:59:53 PM
Tionel and Gordo take a look downstairs and see that the 4 kegs of purple wine are all there there appears to be not even one drop on the floor. (The amount taken was only about 4 oz). there are only Bog's and Drew's footprints visibly in the flour.
Bog watches from up on the roof and sees nothing out of the ordinary.
Syr scares the living daylights out of the poor soul they have captured. otherhan a little booty to be cleaned up off of the dead bodies, there is little to be found. And the captive knows nothing.
Bog's mists finally dissapate but the inn in still in a magical darkness.
Bralin leans the minipult next to the door and brings in the five stones after a quick search of the two bodies.
Turin chuckles for a moment and then realizes there isn't all that much to chuckle at.
found outside - 3-100gp gems, 5 thunderstones, 250gps, a spell book
The time is nearly midnight and the morning is coming early.
Bralin Tuesday May 27th, 2003 3:22:07 PM
The dwarf walks back out of the inn and calls up to Bog.
"Wizard! Can you identify these draughts? Perhaps they are healing."
Gordo Tuesday May 27th, 2003 4:23:20 PM
The big man looks about him. "Well, we seem to have got through that little lot by the skin of our teeth. Now all we need to do is clear up all the mess and get rid of this accursed darkness before the boss arrives! Anyone know how to dispel magic?"
And grabbing a broom, dustpan and brush he sets to work tidying up the mess the fight has caused in the cellar, kitchen and elsewhere.
Turin d20+7=13 Tuesday May 27th, 2003 4:28:53 PM
Turin frowns, and starts to search the dark area for any stones or something similar.
Syr d8=2 Tuesday May 27th, 2003 4:43:14 PM
At Tionel's words, the elf looks up slightly embarrassed. "You are right, I'm not sure what came over me. Let's turn this wretch over to the authorities. She can do us no good."
Frowning, "It is only fair to return the money however, our job is not yet done. I say we at least complete our duties. Speaking of failure, an observation for everyone, myself included. I realize that was our first fight together but next time let's try not to divide ourselves as much? Poor tactics may very well cost us. It was a little closer than I would like, eh Turin?"
"In case they return, who needs healing? I have potions for those in need." He spends a moment concentrating on his own wounds (Lesser body adjustment 2hp)
Looking around at the rest of the group, "Of more of a concern, Where is Drew?"
Bog Tuesday May 27th, 2003 7:33:10 PM
Bog, still shaking on the roof, jumps out of his skin at Bralin's shouts.
"Nothing! I mean...I didn't do it! I mean...NO! Nothing happened!"
Tionel Tuesday May 27th, 2003 9:42:20 PM
"I suppose you're right, Syr. It looks like they only got away with a drink... but we still technically failed. We'll deal with that tomorrow...until then, we'll just have to protect the rest of the wine." Tionel gingerly tucks open his shirt and peers at the wound he's received...and almost faints. "Domi! I've never been cut so...so...brutally!" Frantically, he breaks out a kit and bandages the wounds (Take 10). He also starts to work on Syr. "Say, if anyone else needs a little healing, I still have a few potions...I'm afraid we still have a bit more to go." Thinking about it, after a quick search fo the inn, Tionel remarks, "You're right. Drew is gone! Whatever happened? Bog, did you see anything? Gordo?"
DM kent d100=30 Wednesday May 28th, 2003 10:44:40 PM
Up on the roof Bog is jumping at every little shadow but nothing else much seems to be going on.
Turing vaguely remembers somthing like the cound of several coins hitting the floor as the lights went out. And after a few moments on the floor finds what might be a coin, But after covering it the lights still remain out.
The prisoner is bound and held over til morning.
Gordo starts cleaning up the kitchen whne he stops at Syr's and Tionels question about Drew. Gordo quickly looks around and realizes that Tiree is also missing and was last seen in the kitchen with Gordo and the imposter cooks.
Gordo Thursday May 29th, 2003 6:07:50 AM
"Last I saw Drew was down in the cellar, lad. Bog, you were down there, did you see him? And what happened to Tiree?" He scratches his head, puzzled at the disapearances.
He carries on sweeping and tidying, and calls over to Turin "Hey son, maybe the darkness is centred on the coins. How about we put them in the back alley, and see if the darkness follows them?"
Bralin Thursday May 29th, 2003 8:13:12 AM
Bralin works his way into the kitchen.
Seeing Gordo, he gives his report. "Yon wizard is outside on the roof acting most strange. I have found five potions (showing them) which he will not identify. If they be healing, I am in some need of them (Bralin is cut up pretty bad). I have secured a small catapult which may be helpful. What is our status?"
Upon learning of the disappearance of both Drew and Tiree, Bralin volunteers to guard/search the wine cellar while the others look elsewhere.
The dwarf heads into the basement and gives everything a good looking over.
Turin Thursday May 29th, 2003 9:14:18 AM
Turin picks up the coins and tries to take it out. He calls out, "Hey, is the darkness moving?" as he goes.
Syr (full hp) d8=5 d8=8 Thursday May 29th, 2003 1:45:57 PM
Waving Tionel away, "Save it for someone else." Syr sits on the floor and concentrates. As a blue glow appears beneath his hand he groans softly. After a moment his wounds close. (lesser body adjustment twice, 3 PP left)
Rising, he looks over at Bralin, "Unfortunately, I can only do that on myself. If Drew were here, his connection with his god would help these wounds quickly." He reaches into his belt pouch and extracts two vials. The elf gives two healing potions (d8+1) to Bralin. "Try these out until we find him."
Gordo (in quite a lot of pain) Thursday May 29th, 2003 6:06:25 PM
"Son, if you have any healing going spare, I wouldn't say no" offers the blood drenched Gordo.
Tionel Friday May 30th, 2003 1:22:31 AM
"Right-o, Gordo," Tionel rhyme-sings, and hands him a spare potion of cure light wounds. (I only have five left! :P ) "This whole attack was strange, and I mean, they didn't even get away with anything. Did they? I mean...sorta. Say, do you think there's some sort of meaning to these attacks? maybe we should start asking some questions..."
Bog Friday May 30th, 2003 6:12:43 PM
Bog sighs, realizing he'd better get off the roof before his spell runs out. He climbs down the building carefully. At the bottom he looks around quickly to make sure no one is about to sneak up on him. He sidles slowly toward the entrance to the bar, his back to the wall.
DM kent Monday June 2nd, 2003 7:37:55 PM
With a lot of shuffling long the floor and scratched knees, The dark spelled coin is found and removed from the inn (let me know what you do with it). The kitchen and the cellar are cleanied up. The dead bodies are removed and the prisoner is made a bit more comfortable. The broken glass from the window and the two broken stair rails are cleaned up, but will need to be repaired. And all this is done with enough time for you all to get about 5 hours of sleep before sunrise.
Sunrise comes with no further ado and in the door walk four ladies in kitchen aprons, and two bartender types as well as four waitresess.
Bralin d8+1=5 Tuesday June 3rd, 2003 8:24:15 AM
Bralin wordlessly accepts the two potions from Syr. He downs one (5 hp) and hands the other to Gordo.
Somewhat perplexed by the group's apparent indifference to the disappearance of two of their number, the dwarf takes post inside the wine cellar.
"I'll stand watch the rest of the night," he tells Gordo. Looking at the man's bloody figure, and then his own, he remarks, "Mayhap we can use a portion of our pay to purchase a healing wand."
Gordo d8+1=4 Tuesday June 3rd, 2003 9:12:35 AM
Gordo sinks his healing potion (4HP) and thanks Bralin, heading off to snore heavily.
The following morning he appears in time to see the staff arrive, and though he is a little wary of the four kitchen ladies, he smiles and welcomes them. "Well, you wouldn't believe the fun we had last night!" he grins.
When his friends are all assembled he says "Come on, folks, someone must have seen what happened to Drew and Tiree. Have they been kidnapped by our attackers? If so we must make their retrieval our number one priority, no? Bog, you were down in the cellar with Drew. What happened?"
Turin Tuesday June 3rd, 2003 3:09:09 PM
Turin tells everyone he'll be back. He goes outside with it, sets it down, then looks for the guard. If he can get them to take care of it, and maybe throw it off the edge of the city, all should be fine.
Bog Wednesday June 4th, 2003 6:17:01 AM
Bog looks at the floor and fidgets with the hem of his long bell sleeves without looking at Gordo.
"Wot youzel blamin' mie fer? I dinna dot." he shakes his head. "'e lift n ah doe no war. N Ah doen wanna thingin lak heppin t' me tuoo."
He sniffs.
Tionel Wednesday June 4th, 2003 1:13:09 PM
"He what?" Tionel looks confused, and puzzles out Bog's weird accent, speaking slowly. "He left and you don't know where? Why would he do such a thing? Say...did he take the wine? No...couldn't be." Tionel sighs, feeling a bit strange. He notices the sounds in the kitchen and peeks inside. "Oh, hello, ladies!" he calls cheerfully, but then...remembering...he peeks at them. Do they seem too muscular, or are they holding deadly weapons...? "Oh, I'm afraid there may be a bit of a mess. We had some fights in here last night."
Syr d20+4=13 Wednesday June 4th, 2003 3:28:21 PM
Syr joins Bralin in the cellar. Finding the playing card, he asks the Dwarf, "What's this? Last time I saw one of these, we had contact with the Jester. Is this some plot from the Lords of the Diamond? Maybe the Jester can explain where Drew and Tiree are?"
Gordo Wednesday June 4th, 2003 4:57:57 PM
The big man laughs heartily and slaps Bog cheerfully on the back.
"I'm not blaming you old son! I know you didn't do it! Just thought you might have seen who did. Looks like whatever happened spooked you pretty good eh?" And he grins cheerfully at Bog.
At Syr's words he looks up. "The Jester? The Lords of Diamonds? Son, I reckon I need to get up to speed on a few things! Who are those folks when they're at home, then? And more to the point, if you reckon this here card might mean they know where our friends are, where do we find 'em?"
DM kent Thursday June 5th, 2003 8:43:05 AM
The cooks seem like plump friendly little old ladies, but they are each masterfully wielding an assortment of cleavers and knives as they start in on the chores set for the bag day.
About the time the LOD are brought up Happy makes his appearence at the Inn's door.
He looks around and sees you all, more than a bit cut up and lesser in number, takes in the broken window, the staircase banisters, and the broken tables and chairs, gasps and then rushes down to the cellar without even saying hello.
Moments later you here footstpes coming back up the stairs and coming toward you. Happy is speaking to you as he enters the Inn proper.
"So tell me what happened. I see you had some sort of difficulty last night. Where are the others of your party? We need to get these things repaired before noon. I knew I was right in hiring you all to safe guard the wine. So what happened? who were they? Who is that, pointing to your bound captive? We need to get this area cleaned up repaired and set up for the tasting. It starts at noon , you know. Oh I think I already said that.
Bralin Thursday June 5th, 2003 10:22:27 AM
The dwarf stayed up guarding the wine cellar without further incident during the night.
With Happy's entrance and everybody else bustling around, Bralin figures its time for some shut eye.
Stepping up to Gordo, he intones, "I must rest now. Wake me in 4 hours, and I'll pray for more healing spells. That will take another hour."
The dwarf does some quick incantations, hitting Gordo with 3 CURE MINOR WOUNDS spells (3 hp total), and goes to bed.
Turin Thursday June 5th, 2003 12:08:52 PM
Turin, if he can't find anyone to take care of the coin, will just leave it outside a guardhouse or something similar, then head back to the inn.
Gordo Thursday June 5th, 2003 6:12:10 PM
"Many thanks, Bralin old son" grins the big man. "I'll be sure to wake you."
To Happy he says "Well, sir, I wish we knew where our companions went. They seemed to vanish right out from under our noses. It's a mystery and no mistake. See, we were attacked by a whole load of folks; first off two thieves were hidden down in the cellar. One had a black dagger tattoo, a Thieves' Guild marking we reckon. We turned him over to the law. The other one was able to teleport away. At the same time a bunch of drunk centaurs showed up, but they were seen off. Then we got hit again, a more organised attack this time. A bunch of lasses dressed as kitchen staff turned out to be more thieves, and another group attacked in the main inn, and there were more of 'em out in the street. Quite the knockabout, we had. This lass down here" he points at the bound woman "was one of the ones disguised as staff.
So, no surprises that a few things got broke, eh? Busy night's work that was, an' no mistake. Seems you've got every thief in the Big Float after your booze!"
Tionel Friday June 6th, 2003 12:54:56 AM
Tionel is very glad Gordo sums it up, since he was a bit confused about some results, too. He scratches his wisp of a goatee, pondering... "You're right, Gordo. Every thief's after it...which means we'll have to be extra careful from now on." He heads over to the basement, and whispers to Bog somewhat melancholy, "I just had an idea that we should have originally used...We should have had a fake barrel, and put the real one elsewhere. Damn these late bursts of insight!"
Bog Friday June 6th, 2003 4:55:01 AM
Bog looks up at the smiling Gordo the way a timid nephew looks at his weird grotesque aunt. He about jumps out of his chair again as he is slapped on the back. He quickly pulls the brim of his hat down over his eyes.
He listens as he hears happy come in all excited. As Happy comes back, Bog peeps, "Sooooreh e'but dar floouor. We...seved da wine. A'for...a'for...dey tok 'im. Da tird invisiable 'n"
Bog starts to choke up a bit.

With the coming of Happy things get under way yet again. The group sends out to a glass worker and a wood worker to get the repairs to the inn completed and start setting things up inside the inn. There are quite a few people in and out of the inn but between Happy and yourselves nothing goes amiss and finally the in is ready four hours later. Only an hour ahead of when the guests will start arriving.
Happy shows you where your table is going to be and then explains about the tickets and seating.
Turin Friday June 6th, 2003 3:10:23 PM
Turin listens to Happy, noting everything down in his head.
Tionel Friday June 6th, 2003 9:32:28 PM
"Thank you very much, Happy. I'll greet the guests and........anyone else? Do you want to help watch them for any weapons or anything? Once they're all in, we'll go back to take positions, but let's check 'em to make sure there's no obvious weapons, right?" Tionel smiles politely.
DM kent Saturday June 7th, 2003 8:08:26 AM
At the mention of weapons, Happy bolts upright.
"Ahh yes that is what I forgot. There are NO weapons allowed in the inn during the wine tasting. The guests all know this, as it was part of their contract to to purchase a table. Any one who is bearing a weapon as he enters will set off an alarm in the building and then that person will be sent... ::he vaguely waves his hand:: ... somewhere."
He looks sheepishly at you all.
"It seesm the only people I forgot to tell was you all. Before the first guest arrives at noon, for your own safety, ALL your weapons must be in your rooms."
Turin Saturday June 7th, 2003 1:23:18 PM
Turin shrugs, and removes his weapons, putting them in his room.
Gordo Monday June 9th, 2003 3:34:26 AM
Gordo looks down at his ham-sized fists and grins. "Just as long as you don't want me to lose my hands that shouldn't be a problem, Happy old son" beams the big man. "I never held much store by steel."
He looks at his companions. "Well, if no-one has any wepons, how much trouble can there be?" You can see the thought process wend its tortuous path across his features. "Hmm. Sorry. Forget I said that. Bog, lad, you're going to be key if a problem arises. I'd get that Grease spell warmed up, and if you can manage it that Web spell is mighty handy also."
He cracks his knuckles, and winks at the inn owner. "Don't worry old son. We'll see things go a smooth a silk!" Gordo has never really understood the concept of tempting fate.
Bralin Monday June 9th, 2003 11:12:17 AM
The dwarf sleeps on.
Tionel Monday June 9th, 2003 12:10:11 PM
"Well, that makes things at least somewhat less painful..." Tionel puts his scimitar and dagger away. "Well, someone or someones ought to stand near the wine when it's brought out, and I'm going to stay down with it until it's time for it to be brought up. Can never tell what may happen at the last minute." Tionel heads downstairs, skipping down the steps.
Syr Monday June 9th, 2003 4:54:07 PM
Looking perplexed, "No weapons, what if I take a chair and ram it into Turin's back? Doesn't that make it a weapon? What will happen to me?" With a reluctant frown, he goes upstairs to leave his axe behind.
Coming back down, he looks at Gordo. "Of course you are right. From the little I know the Lords of the Diamond they are a loose collection of individuals with varying goals." Grinning at himself, "That obviously clears things up!" Gazing over Gordo's head, "The only one that I've had personal dealings with was the Jester, see my pin?" He shows the group his diamond pin and tucks it back into his pouch. "I'm not sure if it would help but it's supposed to be a sign of service or thanks from the Lords. It's been a while, let me see if I can recall a way to contact them..."
(OOC: Lords of the Diamond would be a great name for a baseball movie, eh?)

It is eleven AM and you have all divested yourselves of all of your weaponry, woken Bralin and returned sownstairs to await the first arrivals.
The Purple Wine Kegs are all brought upstairs and placed behind the bar. Everything looks good and appears to be ready to go.
Precisely at noon there is a rushing of air and then suddenly there are four groups of four humans and elves that have just entered the inn through the magic fireplaces. For a moment Happy looks flustered while trying to figure out who to greet first, but then decides to just greet them all at once.
In a booming voice, he calls out. " Welcome all to the Giggling Ghost! Please make your way to the tables assigned to you. As you approach your table, both your ticket and the table will glow the same color. We will begin once all guests have arrived."
The next 30 minutes or so there are beings arriving from all over the place. They all seem to have one thing in common. They all appear to be very wealthy and are dressed in some of the finest clothing you have all ever seen.
Another observation you make is that an overwhelming number of the guests are Taurian; Minatuars, Centaurs, and Wemics. Suprisingly there seems to be no arguements or difficulties as people arrive. Everyone makes it to their table without mishap or confrontation.
As the last curtain is closed on the private rooms there is only one table that remains empty and it is on the floor, just off the left-hand side of the stage. Finally there is the unmistakable rush of air from one side of the inn and the final four attendees arrive.
Or at least you think so. Standing at the front of the fireplace are four of the scruffiest, dirty looking, mean-spirited half drunk Minataurs anyone has ever seen.
Gordo Tuesday June 10th, 2003 4:39:24 AM
The big man gives the new arrivals a friendly nod. He is not one to discriminate on the grounds of clothing.
Looking around he marvels at the setup. Happy must be doing pretty well out of this little get together.
Bralin Tuesday June 10th, 2003 10:18:41 AM
The dwarf cannot believe Happy would be that stupid, but leaves his weapons in his room.
He does take along the three small stones he always carries (mundane), and one of those interesting fist sized rocks he took from the catapult.
He also memorizes: 0 - Detect Magic, Guidance, Resistance 1 - Shield of Faith, Summon Monster I
Coming downstairs, Bralin posts himself on the knife throwing area, in order to get a good look at the area.
The minotaurs come through the fireplace. This bodes ill, the dwarf thinks.
Looking for Bog and Gordo, the dwarf starts making his way across the floor toward the group. Just in case.
Turin Tuesday June 10th, 2003 2:02:06 PM
Turin looks at the Minotaurs, trying to recognize them.
Syr Tuesday June 10th, 2003 4:19:57 PM
Syr moves to the fireplace as the minotaurs arrive. With a small bow, "Your table is this way sirs." With that he leads the minotaurs to the sole remaining table.
Tionel Tuesday June 10th, 2003 6:35:55 PM
Tionel maintains his position near the wine, standing with arms ready at his sides, glancing at the fireplace, then back to keeping his vigil on the wine. Uh oh occurs to him...
Bog Tuesday June 10th, 2003 7:31:01 PM
Bog gets himself as far away from the wine as possible. He wanders the outskirts of the room checking out the unpopulated areas mostly.
First he goes around to the back of the stage area and looks in on the dressing room making sure all is well there.
Next he will go to Dagger Lanes, then the Games area.
DM Kent Tuesday June 10th, 2003 8:35:00 PM
As each of you takes a place around the room Syr approaches the scruffy minotaurs. Turin realizes that he has absolutely no clue who these scruffy minotaurs are as he has never seen them before.
As the minotaurs are approached, one of them steps forward with a very worn looking ticket that he is trying to get out of a side pouch. He looks about ready to get very defensive with Syr until he realizes that he is guiding them to their table. With an abashed look and mumbled thanks they are seated.
As the last person is seated the fireplaces all go dark and the inn's lights dim. Ghostly music wafts through the room creating a very eerie mood in the room. Happy steps up on the stage and with a very somber tone, speaks.
"Good people, We at the Giggling Ghost are extremely fortunate and proud to have won the privilage of hosting this years and the next two tastings of the Mystaura vintage of the Purple Wine. As you know this is a very special and rare occasion as this vintage is only made every three years. And in that this is the first vintage of the new age, we are expecting an even more wonderful batch. As you know this will be a two day event, during which you will be served food courses as well as palette cleansers in between servings of the wine. Water pitchers will be stationed at each table and refilled as necessary. Our staff will exchange your glass with each serving and will replenish any food stuffs required when needed. The first service will be by table color, with each subsequent service rotating down one color. We will start out with some traditional breads and cheeses and then we will serve your first glass of wine.
While Happy is speaking, 20 waitresses come from various parts of the inn and start dropping off water, assorted glasses, cheese, breads, trenchers and eating utensils. They manage to do all this during the time that happy is speaking and in a manner that is so unabstrusive that many of the patrons look suprised when they see that there table is filled with these things.
As Happy finishes speaking there is a light creaking as the outside door opens and in walks this bright and shining young man of about 20 years of age.
He is tall and well muscled with lightly tanned skin. He is wearing a bluish tinted breastplate armor with a matching shield bearing the symbol of Domi. He is armed with a long sword and attached to his pack, and plainly visible are a longbow, 2 quivers and a glaive. He looks uncomfortable as he enters the room, and yet at the same time you get the sense that he knows that this is where he is supposed to be.
(OOC > Justin, this is your entry to the game)
Florin Tuesday June 10th, 2003 9:24:27 PM
After just entering and feeling alittle out of place since it looks like something special was being held in the Giggling Ghost he stays by the door, scanning the people for a brief moment and wondering why Domi had sent him a vision to come here. His stance as he stands by the door is rather rigid like that of someone trained to stand at attention at all times.
Syr Wednesday June 11th, 2003 1:32:59 AM
Seeing the door open the elf flicks his black pony tail and moves to the entrance, "I apologize but this is a closed tasting. Please return another day." With that he holds the door for the newcomer to leave.
Gordo Wednesday June 11th, 2003 10:28:09 AM
Moving across to back Syr up the big man smiles at Florin in a perfectly friendly manner; "Aye, son, now is not the best time. Unless you have a ticket of course. Either way, you don't want to come in here with those" he points at the newcomer's weapons "there's a powerful enchantment on the place, and carrying weapons in here right now is a bad idea."
Bralin Wednesday June 11th, 2003 11:15:31 AM
The dwarf returns to the throwing lanes and resumes his watch.
Gordo and Syr likely have Domi's Bravest under control, so the dwarf ignores him.
He continues watching over the crowd, with an occasional foray down into the wine cellar.
Tionel Wednesday June 11th, 2003 12:08:29 PM
Tionel continues his impressive watch of the wine, and scratches the back of his neck idly.
Florin Wednesday June 11th, 2003 1:26:43 PM
Florin looks to Syr and then Gordo when they approach and sighs inwardly at his luck but quickly hides any looks of dismay at his luck as he speaks clearly but low to the 2 men as to not bother the rest of the people of the Giggling Ghost, his words are sincere but also a touch of urgency to them, "I have received a vision from Domi about being here, I fear something is to happen here that required me to be present, I wish no fight but if there is a way for me to stay then I ask for that...to leave now after receiving a vision would be dishonoring me, the temple of Domi and Domi himself for asking me to be here."
Florin looks to Syr thinking this man might be the hardest to get to approve of him staying, his voice still has a hard edge of urgency to it, "I will disarm and help or do whatever you ask but there is something to happen here that I must stay."
Bog Wednesday June 11th, 2003 3:50:39 PM
Bog continues trundling along in his route. He's not gonna get caught with his pants down this time and have people hiding in places ready to spring out.
DM kent Wednesday June 11th, 2003 6:05:49 PM
Syr and Gordo can both tell that the young man is most certainly telling the truth about why he is here, and though Florian seems to be unaware of it, each time he says Domi's name the symbol on his shield flashes momentarily for Syr and Gordo to see.
The first round of wine has been poured and as you can see and hear, it must be absolutely something else.
From the few tables that are inhabited by humans and elves, you hear deep satisfied sighs and some very strange commentary.
"Hey, look at that. The light in here just got brighter and everything is shaded with rainbows." ... " Did you know that your hair is actually about 20 different shades of brown?" ... Ohhh, I had heard this was good, but no one ever told me it would taste like an early spring morning." ... "Spring Morning? No it doesn't. It tastes like a summer storm at the beach. "Did you know that if you were to sing the Ballad of the Battle of Jubtah and Sabba backwards you would make all the known sounds foud in the elven and human langusges?" ... Ooooh, Can you hear that? I think the lake turtle are mating, their song is so beautiful." ... "Wow! This Glass isn't as smooth as you would think. There seems to be large bumps and ridges all over it." ... "Now that is what you call an unbelievable bouquet. This wine elicits an aroma that is reminiscent of a bouquet made from fairy dust and daffodils."
From the tables of the Taurs, there seem to be a different type of response to the wine.
Over at a table of Wemic (Liontaur) warriors the four are suddenyl primping and preening in front of each other and are asking their waitress for some brushes and mirrors. They even look quite appealing to most of you as well.
At a table what had appeared to be Centaur sages, they have suddenly become so introspective as to barely seem alive about every 2-3 minutes one of them will say "Ah!" the others will quietly nod their heads as if agreeing and then the cycle starts again.
At a second table of Wemics, the occupants suddenly leap out of their chairs and land standing on one set of claws on each side of the table top without tipping it over. Almostr immediately the move into an unbelievable sequence of the most fabulous tumbling and agilty movements you have ever laid eyes on. Even more amazing is the fact that they are doig this on and around their table in a space that normally be crowded for wo wemic let alone four.
Over near the Dart lanes, a table of minotaurs have started exerting themselves with powerful displays of strength. The last of which is when one Minotaur laid down on the floor on his belly with the other three standing upon him and then the one on the floor proceeded to do twenty one handed pushups with his friend carousing on his posterior.
Suddenly from the area that the scruffy Minotaurs were sat comes a horrifying and loud caterwauling sound, as the four minotaurs simultaneously burst out crying and wailing, tears flowing down their faces by the bucket fulls. The four of them are taking turns holding each other and patting each other on the backs and trying to comfort one another.
What is really amazing about all this though is that none of the patrons in the inn seem to even notice that anything is going on around them anywhere in the inn.
Tionel watches the wine as it is handed out to the waitresses by the bartenders and nothing seems to be amiss.
Bog makes his rounds and other than the goings ons of the Patrons, noone seems to be hiding anywhere and everything seems to be going smoothly.
Bralin too sees nothing amiss either in the inn or down in the now seemingly emptier cellar.
Your table is of course still empty, but there is are 7 wine glasses waiting for your attention.
Gordo Wednesday June 11th, 2003 7:27:58 PM
"A vision from Domi, eh?" says the big man, scratching at his bushy red sideburns. "Well that's not to be taken lightly, son, you're right."
As he sees the symbol of Domi flash at Florin's breast Gordo takes a half-step back. "Holy Domi! I'm inclined to believe your tale, lad, that I am."
He scratches his shaven pate and looks askance at Tyr. "What do you reckon, lad? I'd say Domi's authority is greater than Happy's, eh?"
He grins and says "Well son, you'd better ditch those weapons if you're coming in. Like I said, no telling waht might happen with those in the mix. Stick close to Syr and me, OK? Oh, the name's Gordo by the way."
He extends a large hairy hand to shake.
When he turns back to the tasting his eyes open wide with astonishment. "Domi's Lungs, what do they put in that stuff?"
He eyes his wine glass as if it might turn into a flamingo at any moment. "I'd say it's a good thing I don't drink, eh lad?" he winks at Florin.
Tionel Thursday June 12th, 2003 12:14:46 AM
Tionel so desires at that moment to take a sip, especially witnessing what others are doing...and...after all, they did leave a glass of wine for him...he deviates his eyes from the wine, walks to his table, sniffs at the wine professionally, then takes a generous sip.
Bog Thursday June 12th, 2003 4:41:25 AM
Bog continues his rounds round the round room, then gets to what he was told was "his table". And what to his wondering eyes does appear? WINE! Full glasses of Wine! He looks left, he looks right, he grabs that which he knows he might not be old enough to drink and quickly downs a glass. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm "'Ine 'ood!"
Bralin Thursday June 12th, 2003 8:02:01 AM
Bralin continues his stoney vigil from the throwing lanes.
Given the reaction of the crowd, he has no intention of getting anywhere near a glass of wine.
Turin Thursday June 12th, 2003 2:09:01 PM
Turin watches the antics of all the Taurs, with slight amusement.
Florin Thursday June 12th, 2003 2:13:44 PM
Florin nods at Gordo's words and quickly removes his backpack since his bow and arrows, along with glaive is attached to it and also undoes his swordbelt, " Where should I put these?" Florin shakes Gordo's large hand with a firm, strong grip and smiles to him, you can sense at the moment him being here is strictly buisness and the greeting is mainly being polite, "Have to forgive my some what cold nature, I usually don't trust easily and at the moment I wonder what Domi sent me here to do."
After leaving his backpack and weapons, along with shield where he is told, Florin moves to the table Gordo walks to, he smiles abit at Gordo's words and shakes his head, "Atleast it's against my training to drink wine, only water, juices and ciders." Florin does look to the others in the Giggling Ghost and the weird way they act, "I do not know what is in the wine but something is amiss here, are all these people royalty or something that someone might of wanted to do something of this nature to?." Florin's only note to himself at this moment is that atleast none of them are acting in a threatening manner. He does also look to Tionel and Bog, "Guess we might see what the wines effects on a couple of your friends are now." He looks to Gordo alittle worried about this situation.
Syr Thursday June 12th, 2003 8:23:45 PM
Syr looks the young man up and down. "Why don't you stay near your weapons. I would think anyone sent from Domi would surely have divine protection over any mortal enchantments. We may be in need of your help. We are mainly here for just security purposes after all." He holds out his hand to Florin for a quick handshake, "Obviously, I'm Syr ... the shorter, better looking version of Gordo with hair!" He winks at Gordo with a sly grin on his face.
Back at their table, he remains standing and alert. After watching the antics of the individual tables he turns to Gordo, "I've heard of 'crying over spilt milk' but this...?" With that he takes a long swallow from his glass.

As Tionel tosses down his taste of the wine, he almost feels as if he becomes rooted to the floor. A number of sensations rush through his body and mind, but only a few really remain. The first thing he recalls is the wine's bouquet. To Tionel it smells more like the most fertile and rich loamy soil he could ever wish to plant anything in. And it tastes like he imagines the wind would taste as it winds its way through an ancient Rowan tree.
Syrdeth tosses back his glass and with a shock to his system realizes that the wine smells exactly like his mother, Faerneth's hair after washing day, bringing back both pleasant memories of his mother and youth and the sad reality of his parents' deaths. At the same time, the wine fills his mind with the most exciting buzz of energy that he has ever felt, and then, as if it wasn't enough, something touches his mind with a soft caressing kiss, that leaves the softest of messages. We are proud of you.
Bog quickly downs his entire glass of wine and as he declares that it is good, falls to the floor flat on his backside as a feeling of disembodiment overtakes him. As he looks down on himself and the others, his wizardly mind tries to analyze what is going on, but he is thrown into the most beautiful thing he has ever seen. It looks like a tree, no, mamouth spider web, of pure magical energy woven and interconnected with many different colors and levels of potency and then he realizes that what he looks upon is a representation of the Wold. In the distance he sees what can only be the shadowlands, a dark broiling mass. and then connecting the two a deep, and swift river of luminescent red runs through the Wold and into the shadowlands. Every now and then he sees a bright glow traverse the river from the Wold to the shadow lands. Beautiful yes but what does it mean..... and then it ends.
Florin and Gordo continue their disscussion as they watch their friends and the others consume their wine.
Bralin maintains his stony watch from the dart lanes and Turin amused by it all is taken in by the show.
The Taurs and the rest of the guests soon come back to their senses as if nothing happened, and continue disscussing the merits of the wine as the servers bring around some pallete cleansers and ready new glases for the next round of wine.
As the second round of wine is served most of you expect to see much the same thing as before but a suprised when absolutelt nothing untoward occurs, at least outwardly. The room does get very still and quiet and you can just make out many subvocalized prayers being said by all the participants.
It is at that moment that the side door burst open and in rush four very heated Centaurs.
"We Bought our ticket to this tasting and Now we are going to taste our wine!"
They somehow manage to get up on stage without knocking anything or anyone over.

Tionel sighs, wondering how to deal with this. Having an idea, he wanders over to the edge of the stage. "If you'd like to have one, here." He offers them two glasses...one, Gordo's, and one that new guy's, Florin's. Since neither bothered drinking, it seemed okay...
Gordo d20+3=12 d20+3=20 Saturday June 14th, 2003 4:57:34 PM
The big man raises an eyebrow at the centaurs' accusation. He scans the faces in the crowd carefully, hoping to spot a flicker of guilt on one or more of them. As he does so he heads towards the door the centaurs barged through, and secures it.
(Spot 12, Sense Motive 20).
Bog Sunday June 15th, 2003 5:39:13 AM
Bog swims in the river, his limbs flailing although they seem to be separated from his body. He starts to sob at this thought and exclaims, "Com' Beck, Arm! Ah nid yooz tonsin doda my wanz n thinzs castin my spells!"
He smiles widely as that seemed to work in convincing his arms to rejoin his body. He swims through the river red going ooh and ahh. Then tries to regain the effect my drinking more wine when it wears off.
Bralin (ac 21, defensive) Monday June 16th, 2003 8:14:48 AM 'No weapons.' Fool.
Bralin moves to the stage with Tionel. He brings his own cup, and silently offers it as well.
The other hand keeps his shield ready.
Syr (Lesser Natural Armor, AC20) Monday June 16th, 2003 12:13:31 PM
Sensing trouble just ahead, Syr stops and concentrates. HIS skin seems to thicken. He then follows the centaurs onto the stage.
Florin (AC 14 *without shield*) Monday June 16th, 2003 7:10:25 PM
Florin looks to Syr and the others as they move towards the stage and hangs back abit before moving with them, he does glance to Syr and Gordo commenting to them, "I'm better with my sword and glaive then at hand to hand but I'll help if anything starts."
DM Kent Tuesday June 17th, 2003 3:21:15 PM
As Tionel gets his focus back fully into the real world, he pours a couple of glasses of the wine and heads, along with Bralin, toward the stage, calling out to the Centaurs.
Gordo catches the slightest nervous movent from a table of what appear to be extremely well to do Centaurs. As he focusses on them a bit more closely he senses that they are trying to avoid being seen by the newcomers and at the same time are watching their every move.
Shaking off the effects of the wine, Syr casts his spell and then follows the other two on to the stage hoping for an easy settlement of this difficulty.
Florin, getting the feeling that this is why he is here follows the other three toward the stage area.
Bog goes to pour himself a second glass of wine in order to recapture the feeling he just had when he sees/hears the commotion.
Turin, no longer so amused slowly shakes his head and gets ready for whatever is about to happen.
.......
DM Kent continued Tuesday June 17th, 2003 3:28:55 PM
The four Centaurs on stage are peering over the assembled guests as if they are trying to locate someone, when Tionel and the others step on stage. The lead centaur looks at the young man and snorts. " We will have our wine once we have our table. We want what is rightfully ours, and we are going to get it one way or another." Someone stole our ticket and as all the tables are occupied, that means the theives are somewhere in this room. So we aim to find them and teach them a lesson. And we are not about to let you and your little friends here get in our way."
That said he pushes by Tionel spilling both glasses of wine and starts looking over another part of the crowd. when he stops and a sly smile comes over his face. "Oh yes, I forgot to mention that we coated our ticket with a magical solution that after twenty-four hours will turn the thief's hands blue. And the twenty four hours is up in just about five seconds."
Gordo d20+6=23 d8+2=8 Tuesday June 17th, 2003 5:01:41 PM
The big man cracks his knuckles above his head and grins hugely. This is shaping up nicely. He likes nothing more than a good harmless roustabout.
"Well now son" he shouts up to the lead centaur, "them's mighty convincing words. I'm inclined to believe you, an' that's the truth. See, to my thinking these lads right here are looking a wee bit shiftier than they aught."
He strides over towards the suspect centaur table. "You boys don't mind if we keep an eye on your hands for the next few minutes do you? Only you seemed to be glancing down at them just now. Seems a bit odd to me, a fella with a bony fidey ticket checking his hands to see if they was blue."
Gordo is ready for an angry reaction, and will lash out at anyone who attacks him in any way, shouting "Now that was just rude, son!"
(Readied Stunning Attack, hits AC 23 for 8 HP, Fort save DC 16 or be stunned 1 round)
Bralin Wednesday June 18th, 2003 11:22:18 AM
Bralin allows the centaurs to step forward past them.
Since their all looking over the crowd, he quietly moves to take position some 15' behind them.
Then, he scans his immediate surrounding for something large and club-like (table/chair/stone planter, whatever).
Turin Wednesday June 18th, 2003 1:03:41 PM
Turin slowly walks over to an entrance, making sure nobody goes in or out that way.
Syr Wednesday June 18th, 2003 3:26:33 PM
Syr stays on the stage, peering out over the crowd.
Tionel Wednesday June 18th, 2003 3:55:35 PM
Tionel, seeing the purpose of this, quickly makes up his mind on what to do. He hurries over to the important wine barrels, closes it, and tries to convince anyone else nearby to help him get the precious nectar to a place of safety...
Bog Thursday June 19th, 2003 6:25:26 AM
Bog starts to tilt back his head when he hears the arguing, then shakes his head and sighs. "Not you 'orseheads agin...ya guyz don no win ta quit."
"Goooo Down!"
Bog casts Grease under the four Centaurs trying not to get any of the party.
DM kent Thursday June 19th, 2003 1:18:46 PM
As the party memebrs start moving around and the Centaur stops speaking several things happen at the same time.
One of the well-to-do centaurs does indeed make a move to hide his hands, which Gordo sees as he is right there. Also watching though were the three centaurs facing that side of the inn and they also saw the movement. With a unison bellow they charge through the tables upsetting guests and tables and chairs, in their unilateral focus to reach the four miscreants.
The Four seated centaurs, realizing that the gig is up charge in opposite directions causing as much upheaval and chaos as they can knocking over other tables and guests.
Syr and Florin just avoid being trampled by C1 as he charges after his three friends and Gordo suddenly realizes that he is in dire straits as he is in the path of four charging centaurs. Bog starts to cast his spell but realizes there is no way to avoid catching some of his friends and other innocents in it, so holds it. and finds himself suddenly faced with a fleeing centaur.
In just about 10 seconds the Inn has turned into a major free for all.
Turin (AC 21, 22 on nearest charge) Thursday June 19th, 2003 1:53:22 PM
Turin will stay by his exit, and will ward off any blows as best he can, dodging the nearest charge.
Gordo d20+12=23 d20+6=7 Thursday June 19th, 2003 5:32:15 PM
Gordo's cheery grin evaporates somewhat as he sees a stampede heading straight for him.
"Now then lads..." he begins, then quickly decides he's not going to talk his way out of this one, and hurls himself desperately to one side out of the rush of hooves (Tumble 23). As the centaurs pass he tries to take a swing at the last one, but treads on a fallen glass as he does so and completely loses his balance (natural 1).
Tionel Thursday June 19th, 2003 11:02:12 PM
Tionel hears the sound of the fighting starting up just as the last barrel of precious wine is shoved into the kitchen... Whirling, he sees the fray begin. With a battle cry of, "Not in the face!" he ducks.
Syr d20+7=18 d2+4=5 d20+11=30 d2+4=5 Friday June 20th, 2003 1:27:59 AM
Syr steps nimbly aside and strikes out at C1 as he gallops past (Attack of Opportunity 18, Damage 5). "Florin, time for action!"
Syr watches over the crowd as the big man goes down and shouts out, "Gordo!" With a jump he pursues C1, attempting to subdue him. Charging between the tables he slides into the centaur feet first (Attack 30, damage 5).
Bog Friday June 20th, 2003 4:29:22 AM
Bog stops his chant short and grimaces as the Centaurs pile off the stage. Deep in thought he quickly realizes he has to get out of the way and dives for cover. His eyes follow the upstart centaurs and land on some of the other customers.
"Aha!" he shouts and bustles over to the table with the four ugly minotaurs.
He places 4 gp on the table in front of them. "'ay you's bulzes'nyoudencreshdees'orseheads n' mak em zavomozzintingsn u git dis!"
Seeing their blank looks he sighs and resorts to mime. He points at himself, then at the money, then at the minotaurs. Then points at the minotaurs again, punches his own hand with his fist, then points at the centaurs, then mimes throwing a centaur, then points to the fireplace exit. He smiles back at the minotaurs when he's done with his pantomime show expectantly.
Bralin(ac 19, shield of faith) Friday June 20th, 2003 8:16:27 AM
Quite suddenly, all the action is moving away from Bralin.
This is not going well , he sighs inwardly.
The dwarf is at a bit of a loss about the proper course of action. So, he casts a spell on himself (SHIELD OF FAITH).
Turning to the guests in the immediate vicinity on the stage, he instructs, "T'would be safest to remain here."
Then, he moves out onto the walkway, looking to see who needs immediate assistance.
Florin (AC 14 Aura of courage in a 10' radius) Friday June 20th, 2003 12:40:12 PM
Florin nods and Syr's words and calls out as he quickly begins making his way to the entrance where he left his shield, wanting it to help ward off blows, "I'm getting my shield, I shouldn't of left it near the door." Florin makes a quick prayer to Domi for help during this, knowing that unarmed combat is not his specialty.
He glances at Tionel and calls out, "I'll be by the door in a moment to get my shield if you end up needing help, otherwise I'm heading back out into this mess to help Gordo, Syr and the others."

(remember unless otherwise mentioned, all damage is Subdual)
For the most part, wih exception of Syr who lept into the fray, the party manages to avoid contact with the two groups of centaurs, who have managed to find their opposite number and are locked in combat with them.
And then of course there is the mercenary BOG, whose mime seems to have either been well understood or not necessary. In either case the bag disappears and the Minotaurs tear into the fray. The problem is though as they get up to join the fray so do several of the other tables and soon the whole bar is having quite the donnybrook.
Suddenly Bog finds himself dodging an elf that just got casually tossed aside. As he momentarily watches the flying elf, he catches something out of the corner of his eye and turns just as one of the lion taurs completes a diving roll that sends the large cat heding straight toward the poor wizard. Somehow Bog just manages to twist aside and the taurs misses hitting him.
Syr, at the otherside of the bar manages to get a fleeting hold of C1 just as he passes and swings himself abord just as C5 attacks and accidently clubs Syr with a fist that sends him rolling off the taurs back and under a nearby table. (3 points)
Bralin moves out onto the walkway and suddenly finds himself in the middle of about 6 folks trying to get at one another. Bralin somehow manages to avoid all but one blow sent his way, and that one caught him unawares as some young lady twirled around leapt into the air and kicked him in the side. (4 points)
Tionel gets the wine in the kitchen and then is immediately abandonned by the bartenders as they remove their aprons and as one dive into the fray.
Whether due to Bralin's comments or something else the folk on the stage stay calm and start placing small wagers on individual combats and moves. Because of this relaxed atmosphere on the stage, Turin and Florin get to watch the goings ons without a single body coming any where ner the door.
Gordo d20+6=9 Sunday June 22nd, 2003 5:33:50 PM
Regaining his balance the big man races towards the nearest centaur (C3) and swings a wild punch (AC 9).
"This is getting embarassing!" he grins.
Syr d20+7=21 d6+4=8 Monday June 23rd, 2003 1:37:03 AM
Snarling, the elf braces himself and stands raising the table above his head. With a grunt he throws it at C1, aiming for his head. (Attack 21 damage 8) Seeing his mates on the stage he calls out, "A little help here?"
Bralin(ac 19, shield of faith) d20+5=11 Monday June 23rd, 2003 8:19:08 AM
"Oooof", Bralin grunts at the impact.

Tionel d20+4=21 d20+1=17 Monday June 23rd, 2003 5:47:21 PM
Hearing his fellow elf's exasperated call for help from the stage, Tionel perks up and looks at the brawl ensuing before him. Making out the troublesome centaurs, one of which is just near him, he gives a cry of, "Here I come!!!" He takes two steps forward onto the tip of the stage and leaps! Unencumbered by anything, he manages to clear two quarreling humans, a knocked over table, and with a "AAAAAAAaaaaaaa!" lands perfectly on top of that centaur's back. (Hopefully! I rolled a 21 to hit, and a 17 to jump...)
Bog Monday June 23rd, 2003 11:58:34 PM
Bog grunts as he hops up onto a table. "Wall, 'u lines ass'd for't!" He twiddles and casts Grease centered on the Wemics and spread out from there!
Florin d20+5=16 d3+3=4 Tuesday June 24th, 2003 12:22:02 AM
Florin watches as Tionel moves to help Syr and calls out as he himself moves to try and help Bralin with the problem he is in, "Call if you need help yet Syr, I'm going to try and help Bralin."
As Florin moves to get to Bralin he calls to the people nearest Bralin and/or attacking him, "Now listen, this is not the way of proper gentleman and ladies...as a paladin of Domi I ask you to kindly stop your actions."
Florin knows what he says is probably useless but also remembers how Domi himself wanted to be a blacksmith and peaceful person and not a warrior, he just hopes his friends understand his problem with fighting unless he has to.
Florin will attack if he is pressed, using his shield for defense as he punches at the nearest person who tries to attack him.

As Gordo stands and grins at his poor excuse for a punch, the two centaurs continue their battle totally ignoring him and even bumping him out of the way. As he decides whether or not to be affronted by this he hears the sound of running feet approaching from the rear. This is followed by a sharp curse and a thump, as a very surprised elf goes sliding between Gordo's legs and ploughs right into the tangle of centaur legs. As he watches the elf he catches movement out of the corner of his eye as a table of wemics work together to launch two of themselves high into the air and across the room. As the two wemic tuck into oversized hard fur balls, they both strike the targeted Minotaur square in the chest knocking him off his feet and back into a table of very surprised and now quite squished elves.
Bog on the other side of the inn casts his spell to quite hilarious effect as nearly 20 folk are caught in a suddenly greased up area and are having a difficult time even standing, let alone trying to brawl.
Syr launches a table at the two entangled centaurs, and manages to hit them both quite squarely, causing them to momentarily stop fighting and look around to see where the offensive furniture came from. Seeing Syr standing there and calling for aid, the two centaurs look back at each other and then back at Syr. With a shake of their heads they turn back to one another, when Tionel suddenly comes flying through the air, from the rear, and lands squarely on the disheveled centaur's back.
Shocked and insulted that he was hit by a tiny slip of a girl and then barely dodging a flying halfling, Bralin is stunned yet again when the young lady quickly winks at him and with a running leap cartwheels toward him yet again, preparing himself to be tattooed again by feminine feet he watches as she comes at him and at the very last second veers off slightly, using his shoulders as a springboard to allow her to get more height for her hand spring that launches her another 10 feet across the room feet first into the chest of a very surprised wemic.
Florin pushes his way down in to the fray to cover Bralin's back and finds himself along with Bralin facing six assorted patrons all moving in toward them. One of centaurs gets a grin on his face and yells loudly. "Let's play Toss the Dwarf!" at that moment all six charge in. In their hurry though most of them get in each other's way and only one combatant manages to connect with Bralin (2points) and one manages to grab hold of Florin's shield (Strength DC11 to keep the shield).
Turin seeing that things are still ok on stage remains solid by the door.
The free-for--all has only been going on for a couple of minutes but already there are quite a few bodies joining the pieces of furniture on the floor.
The Bartenders that joined the fracas are making good use of a couple of serving trays, caroming them off of heads as they fling them across the room and then coming down the stairs from upstairs you see Daphne arrive in all her ghostly splendor, with a ghostly rolling pin clutched tightly in one hand. She dives right into the nearest fight and starts swinging her ghostly pin around and letting her foe have it verbally as well as her rolling pin passes through each of her targets. "This is supposed to be a wine tasting, not a brawl. Stop this right this minute. You are going to break all my furniture. Oooh, if I weren't a ghost..."
Bralin(ac 19, shield of faith) d20+5=24 d3+4=5 Tuesday June 24th, 2003 10:16:09 PM Enough of this!

Tionel d20=17 d20+4=24 d20+4=8 d2+1=2 Tuesday June 24th, 2003 11:04:57 PM
Tionel gives a few whoops as he rides the disheveled centaur inexpertly, trying to hold onto its mane and clamp his legs on its side. (Ride check 17!) It bucks wildly, but he manages to hold on. He gives it a good chop on the back of the neck, successfully hitting, and inflicting a minor wound. (2 damage! Woo!)
Gordo d20+6=25 d20+6=15 2d8(7+7)+4=18 Wednesday June 25th, 2003 3:28:26 PM
Gordo concentrates this time, and, adopting a flanking position on one of the two centaurs, punches him in the buttock as hard as he is able (AC 27, crit if 17 hits (added flanking bonus) for 18 points of damage). The blow is carefully aimed at a large nerve cluster; Gordo aims to numb the creature's leg (Stunning blow DC 16 or stunned for 1 round).
Syr d20+7=11 Thursday June 26th, 2003 3:16:35 PM
Dismissed by the centaurs, the elf frowns. Taking a running start he jumps onto a table and aims a flying kick at the head of C1. Unfortunately, his jump is too high and his head bangs into a low hanging light throwing off his aim. (attack 11)

He then gestures to the whole crowd. "'Oll teegeth'r noooooo! A-un n to n' tree n for!" He beats his foot rhythmically on the stage and claps on every alternate beat.

The appearance of Daphne calms down the section of the inn that she is in, as many of them start mummbling apoplogies to her and start picking up overturned tables and chairs.
The greased area has also calmed down as they are working to help each other get up and then once up they too start setting their area of the inn to rights.
The area on and around the stage starts quieting down and start staring at Bog like he has lost his mind.
There are however three distinct areas that are still going to and are starting to attact notice.
The two fighting centaurs leaders, one with Tionel on its back and one that just had Syr go flying over its head.
The fight between centaurs that Gordo is mixed up in.
And the group that has decided that Bralin should join them for a game of "Toss the Dwarf."
....
Tionel gets a few rounds and then finds himself being grabbed by his mount (AC 19) and being pulled off, (strength check DC16) or be thrown to the ground between the two centaurs.
Gordo'd punch stuns his opponent and as his leg goes numb he stumbles a bit allowing his scruffy opponent the chance to attack freely, which he does in good measure and soon has his opponent in ful control.
The group on the stage surrounding Florin and Bralin suddenly decide that a game of Toss The Dwarf would be a lot of funn and nearly simultaneously the charge Bralin, ignoring Florin all together. In the rush florin's shield gets dropped to the floor and he gets heavily jostled (Strngth DC12) or be knocked off walkway onto a group of drinkers.
Bralin now has six foes attacking and grabbing at him. Three of his opponents get a good hold of him (AC 19,20,23) while the other three are kept away from him. (Grapple checks DC19,20,23) (d20 + base attack + str)

With most of the inn settling down there only seem to be three pockets of activity going on.
Bog somehow manages to get through to the minotuars and they hustle off in pairs to collect the three currently out of it ticket thieves and toss them out the door.
The Scruffy Centaur just struck by Gordo stares at him for a moment and then says quietly, If you hit me again I will have to thump you soundly, if you stop perhaps we can end this.
Tionel somehow mangaes to maintain his concentration as he is thrown to the ground were after a few moments three dogs suddenly appear facing the head centaur thief.
Syr once again goes flying through the air and somehow manages to clip a rafter and falls unconcious just behind Tionel.
Florin manages to somehow get bumped off the walkway and onto a group of ladies, who are suprised to suddenly have a paladin lying across their laps.
All of this happens and then there is a loud and deafening boom as Bralin throws down a thunderstone.

With the big Boom, the last of the fighting comes to an end and with the aid of the dogs and Minotaurs the last of the Centaur thieves is sent packing. Within minurtes the inn is straightened up and put to rights as everyone piches in. A few new tables and chairs are brought in to replace the broken ones and the broken glass just seems to vanish.
The scruffy centaurs take their places and soon the wine tasting continues without any further interruptions. Twenty hours later as the last drop is served and the last guest makes his way to the door, an exhausted Inn staff, Happy included, collapses into seats at several tables. Daphne floats over to the table with a tray of glasses and four pichers of purple wine for you and the crew and pours everyone a tall glass full.
Happy looks around at everyone and raises his glass. "Here's to the best Wine tasting in twenty years." After drinking to the toast, he looks at you all in particular. "Well that turned out fairly well. I just knew you all were good luck. Wonderful work. I know you all are as tired as I am so why don't you head up to your rooms here at the inn and catch some shut eye and we can settle up in the morning.
Gordo Thursday July 3rd, 2003 6:19:10 PM
Gordo grins at his employer. "It's been a pleasure working for you, Happy. Good money and good fun. But you're right, I could sleep for a week."
He turns to his companions. "Well, goodnight all. It's been a blast!" and yawning hugely he stomps up to bed.
Bralin Thursday July 3rd, 2003 10:41:55 PM
The dwarf nods in agreement with Happy's wise advice.
Without a word, he goes upstairs and is soon quite asleep.
Florin Thursday July 3rd, 2003 11:27:27 PM
With the wine tasteing over and gladly having no problems with the ladies he fell on the lap of he stands and moves to Happy, "I never had a chance to really meet you so will take the chance to meet you now before retiring for the night. My name is Florin Jadenth and it was a honor to help out and serve Domi's will all at once." With this said he offers to shake Happy's hand before moving up stairs to get some sleep.
Tionel Friday July 4th, 2003 5:39:23 AM
Tionel is quite confused. He's not sure they've done such a good job. As it is, he's exhausted, and smarting from a few bruises, something he's not used to. Still, he sticks around after the others have gone up, and approaches Happy. "If you're truly satisfied with the events, sir... I'm still a bit puzzled myself about some of the occurences. I am glad nobody was truly hurt, and that we did prevent...well...some degree of violence. I'm sorry about anything bad that did happen... We're just trying our best..." He mumbles a few more things apologetically, trying not to yawn.
Happy Saturday July 5th, 2003 11:34:27 AM
Turning to Tionel as he speaks, Happy chuckles.
"Lad, at the last Purple wine tasting, two of the kegs were stolen, a dozen guests were killed, and a good portion of the inn, that was sponsoring it, burned to the ground." So I would say what you acomplished here was nigh on a miracle, but then I always said that you were blessed by Warrd, and were my good luck pieces."
"You see for the Taurs, the wine super emphasizes their natural strengths, hence Wemics get my dexterous and crafty, Minatours get stronger and more beligerant, and Centaurs get more thoughtful and stubborn. Now whenever you get a batch of taurs together, it is a recipe for trouble, but when they all start thinking that they are the group most blessed by the gods, well that is just filling the pot to far. Something is bound to overflow."
Bog Saturday July 5th, 2003 5:00:51 PM
Bog hiccups and walks downstairs. After a few more glasses of the scrumptious purple wine, he had nearly passed out but somehow managed to make it to bed.
"verarathin's oll fuzzy. Ah canni see stait! Kin I has someggs'n bacin? oooooooooooooooooh mah heyad."
He sits in one of the chairs and rests his head on a table.
Tionel Sunday July 6th, 2003 1:43:30 PM
The despondent elf blinks and relievedly beams. "We did-..er..well, yes, I suppose Taurs are all sorts of trouble! Yes, I see what you're saying now..." He taps his foot, thinking. "But you know...it seems like while I was having a sip myself, I had a strange vision... I can't quite remember it, but it was very nice. Very..er...back home, sylvan. Maybe... this sort of wine emphasizes and enhances all natures, not just Taurs..." Blinking and looking up, he realizes he was drawling on and on. Happy has probably by now wandered off. Apologizing for his lengthy monologue if Happy still is there, or if the ghost damsel has stuck by listening to his droll words, Tionel then makes his way to bed. He catches a long and deep sleep, filled with dreams...
