Vasch grits throught the pain and returns some missile fire of his own at the archer.

Flat-top pulls back on his own bow and fires off a pair of arrows at the sorceress. The arrows fly harmlessly off of some kind of shield that the sorceress has up.

Kenisha dodges the first arrow, feels another glance off her armor spell and the last she catches before it hits her in the chest. She then fires off a set of magic missiles in the sorceress's direction.

Taric creates the image of a darktentacle in the water near the splashing sound, trying to draw attention away from the group.

Kanchana casts a spell of her own that causes the short grasses near the bridge to lengthen and grasp at the two Mailed Fists that move towards the bridge.

Leets makes his own move towards the bridge as well to intercept the soldiers. He throws a javelin as he makes his way to it, cursing that they hit Kenisha.

Captain Miroband takes a look in the direction that the minotaurs have pointed in and shakes his head. He sees nothing in that direction and even when the minotaur start yelling about tentacles he shakes his head. "It is an illusion men...ignore it."

Archer(a) takes an arrow in the leg for his earlier troubles of shooting at Vasch. He grits his teeth and bears the pain. Pulling up his bow again he sights and fires off three arrows at Vasch (hit: 13/24/17, damage: 5/3/9).

Archer(b) fires off another volley of arrows at Kenisha, hoping to slip one through (hit: 19/11/20, damage: 6/9/4).

Soldier(a) finds himself caught up in the grasses as they entwine around him.

Soldier(b) is likewise entangled in the grassses of the swamp.

The cleric under some orders given before battle moves forward some and touches archer(a) with a wand (3hp healed).

The sorceress is able to get out her spell despite the magic missiles that pound into her. She completes her spell and when the rocky visage turns to her she speaks in a unknown tongue. The sorceress will start another spell now that her elemental has been summoned.

Up out of the ground rises an earth elemental fourty feet away from the sorceress. Having heard what it has been commanded to do it lumbers towards the island, though it must cross the water first.

Both minotaurs point and shout about the black tnetacles that come out of the water. They do not listen at all to Miroband as the slowly retreat.

Vasch (26/32, Init 18, AC 20)  d20+3=18 d20+1=16 d6+2=5
Thursday September 18th, 2003 8:32:28 PM

The volley of arrows fly in on Vasch he is able to easily avoid the first only to step into the second and third. the second arrow grazes Vasch but he bears it. The third arrow strikes with a "thud!" into his armor. Vasch expecting a sharp pain looks to down to see the broken shaft lying at his feet and the arrow head lodged harmlessly in this armor.

Vasch quickly raises his bow and return fire again at the archer in a battle of lobbed range fire. "Grrr..." Vasch growls towards the other bank as his arrow flies towards its target. (AC 16, Dmg 5)

Kenisha (AC 22 Mage Armor)  3d4(2+3+4)+3=12
Thursday September 18th, 2003 11:56:02 PM

"Flat-top! Keep after the sorceress! I'll see if I can't whittle down that elemental of hers." Kenisha calls out to her friend before taking aim at the approaching elemental and letting loose with three magic missiles (for 12 HP of damage).

Brahmah (  d20+13=19 2d4(4+2)+7=13
Friday September 19th, 2003 12:48:55 AM

OOC: Sorry all, computer issues again, I'm back though!

IC:
Brahmah, seeing that the Chosens' casters have cast a burrage of spells, Brahmah heads toward the log bridge ready to head off the first to cross. (puts away the scroll, drawing falchion).
If he can get an attack off, he strikes out at the first over the bridge. (Hit AC 19, 13 damage).

Kanchana
Friday September 19th, 2003 1:41:01 AM

Kanchana keeps her weapons stowed away for now. She feels for her healing wand as she backs towards the others slowly while watching those across the water. Kanchana grins a little as she notes that the wand is where it should be.
Taking note that two of the Minotaur clerics seem to be shying away Kanchana prays to Tomi that they give up and leave completely.
"'Ware the grass." Kanchana says to anyone heading towards the bridge,"and let me know if you are injured and are in need of tending."
Kanchana briefly wonders if they are going to get any sleep tonight.

Taric (invisible)
Friday September 19th, 2003 3:01:38 AM

Taric moves closer to the log as well, but for the moment keeps concentrating on the image of the darktentacles to keep the two minotaurs out of the fight. He moves the image a bit closer to the two minotaurs, hoping to make them flee comletely.

Flat-top  d20+2=20 d20+2=11 d6+2=7
Friday September 19th, 2003 3:54:09 AM

Flat-top reloads two more arrows, aims and fires at the Sorceress again, "She's using magic to protect herself, well she can only do that just so many times before she has to renews her spells. Now if she was a wizard I'd be in trouble right about now!" Flat-top is hoping that Domi is listening, after all the enermy is trying to kill the Uni'taurs.

Enter the Mailed Fist. (DM Jim)  d20+12=24 d20+7=24 d8+4=12 d8+4=12 d20+10=26 d20+5=24 d8+2=8 d8+2=7 d20+10=19 d20+5=6 d8+2=6 d8+2=10 d20+5=20 d20+5=12 d20+11=20 d8+4=11 d8+1=5 d20+10=17
Friday September 19th, 2003 3:18:45 PM

Vasch stoicly takes the two hits, one just lodging in his armor, and fires back his own missile.

Kenisha makes the comment about taking on the elemental herself and the others concentrate on the sorceress.

Brahmah makes it to the bridge and part way across it. He eyes the writhing grass with thoughts of how to avoid it while getting to the soldiers.

Kanchana voices her ability to heal as she checks to see that her healing wand is still in place.

Taric keeps up his control of the blacktentacle image trying to make the minotaurs run.

Flat-top pulls back and lets another two arrows fly in towards the sorceress. He hopes that she has no major damaging spells and if she does she will not use them.

Miroband growls as the minotaurs slowly back away from the image. He is happy to see that his men are holding true to his tactics and listening to him. He quickly scans the immediate area and spots another figure that seems to be doing nothing in the battle. He smiles as he pull up his own bow and knocks an arrow. He fires off two arrows in the direction of Taric (hit: 24/24, damage: 12/12).

Archer(a) smiles as the arrow from his foe goes wide. Pulling up his bow again he sights and fires off two arrows at Vasch (hit: 26/24, damage: 8/7).

Archer(b) fires off another volley of arrows at Kenisha, hoping to slip one through (hit: 19/6, damage: 6/10). Something goes terrible wrong with his last shot and the bowstring snaps.

Soldier(a) breaks free of the entangle spell and moves forward to engage Leets (hit: 20, damage: 11)

Soldier(b) struggles against the grass that is holding him, but just cannot seem to get free.

The cleric taps archer(a) with his wand agains and heals the archer (5hp healed).

The sorceress watches as the missiles fly right on by her. The completion of her spell brings into being another elemental of earth. She once again gives orders to the elemental then begins a new spell.

The earth elemental(a) feels the magic missiles sting his rocky skin and then he sinks into the ground.

The newest earth elemental(b) seems to nod once and then sinks into the ground moving towards the water.

Both minotaurs continue to back up away from the image thier eyes bugging out.

[Be warned that only one can fight on the bridge at a time. It is not wide enough for more than that.]

Vasch (16/32, AC 20)  d8+1=5
Friday September 19th, 2003 5:03:42 PM

Two more arrow reign down on Vasch with much better accuracy than the previous. "RRooaarrr..." sounds from the wemic as the arrows hit their mark. One piercing his hine quarter and the other Vasch catches in the arm.

Vasch drops back pulling a potion from his pack and drinking it. "I can't keep trading volleys with them on the otherside!" He says. "Kenisha! Worry about the elementals when they get over here! We need to slow down those archers or we'll be dead!"

OOC: Vasch drank a Potion of Cure Light for 5 hps.

Brahmah (dodge vs sorceress)  d20+12=27 d20+12=28 2d4(4+4)+7=15 2d4(1+3)+7=11
Friday September 19th, 2003 5:37:50 PM

Stopping on the bridge, Brahmah watchs in astonishment as the elementals fade into the earth.
The Captain of the Chosen hones in on the sorceress and tries to make his way to her.

If he meets resistance, he'll attack whoever. (single attack, crit treat, confirm with AC 28? for 15 or 26 if crit)

Brahmah (Additional)
Friday September 19th, 2003 5:39:48 PM

If one of the archers gets in his way, the attack goes to them.

Taric (invisible?)
Saturday September 20th, 2003 2:50:26 AM

Taric keeps concentrating on the image.

OOC:
How did Taric become visible? He didn't attack anybody and so far nobody has interacted with the image. Just wondering...

Comments from the DM.
Saturday September 20th, 2003 4:26:06 AM

Just a couple of comments on the situation as it stands.

Leets would be in front of Brahmah on the bridge and it is not wide enough for him to get around. Leets would have engaged the first soldier that broke free. That is what he had intended to do in his in his post after he threw that javelin.

Taric was only seen by Captain Miroband because of the spell that he had cast on him before battle even began. In fact several of the Mailed Fist currently have spells already up and working. You may have noticed the sorceress has one up and working already.

All of the spells cast on the Mailed Fist I had in place before combat was even begun or any actions would be taken. That way if I had a spell out that was worthless it would be too late to do anything about it and I could not cheat in anyway.

From what I have seen so far, I am sure that The Chosen are doing quite well and will win this fight.

Leets  d20+6=16 d20+6=20 d8+3=11 d8+3=7
Saturday September 20th, 2003 4:31:06 AM

Leets firmly stands at the bridge, welcoming the soldier's arrival with his staff (AoO 16, damage 11).

"You shall not pass! In Domi's name! Listen to me"

"Us Taurs can feel what is wrong and what is right! Listen to your heart, and you'll know you cannot kill those babies, you'll know you cannot fight us! Help us unite the Taurs, help us!"

Leets will however strike with his staff, however dealing subdual damage (attack 20, 7 damage).

Bearer of Bad News. (DM Jim)
Sunday September 21st, 2003 3:23:35 PM

It is my sad and unrelished duty to inform you all that both Kale and Ceira have been put on the inactive list.

I have spoken to Jerry about this and he said that it was time. He will also be looking for some new player to bolster our ranks.

I will ask for a Wemic and a Minotaur character if at all possible to even out our races, but that will kind of depend on what a new player wants to play.

I am also looking for suggestions for what classes we would be looking for as well. A little of advance thinking on our part so that maybe we can get what we need to keep our group in the green and no weaknesses.

Email me at the following address with all suggestion or just comments on this post. <jade_dragon_1974@yahoo.com>

Kanchana  d8+3=10
Sunday September 21st, 2003 4:07:32 PM

Kanchana takes note that Vasch doesn't look too healthy right now. Kanchana moves over to Vasch; taking out her wand as she walks, and stands beside him (but nearer to his abdomen than his torso) and on the side away from his sword arm. She quietly speaks the command word and touches him lightly with the wand.

(Heals Vasch for 10pts of dmg)

Kenisha  3d4(2+4+3)+3=12
Sunday September 21st, 2003 11:58:30 PM

Seeing that the Elementals are sinking into the ground and out of sight, Kenisha switches back to the sorceress, hoping to keep her from conjuring any more. She fires off three magic missiles at her (doing 12 HP of damage).

Taric
Monday September 22nd, 2003 1:14:02 AM

Feeling the pain of the arrows as they sink in his body, Taric can only think of one thing. He immediately drops to the ground, hoping to at least make it harder for the captain to fire at him again. He keeps concentrating on the image though, making sure the two minotaurs stay out of the fight.

Enter the Mailed Fist 2. (DM Jim)  d20+16=24 d4+1=4 d4+1=3 d4+1=3 d20+5=20 d20+10=19 d20+5=25 d8+2=9 d8+2=7 d20+10=11 d20+5=9 d8+2=4 d8+2=4 d20+10=24 d20+5=9 d8+6=10 d8+3=7 d20+8=28 d20+8=17 d8+6=7 d8+6=9
Monday September 22nd, 2003 2:11:13 PM

Vasch takes a step back and pulls out a potion which he quickly downs. He feels slightly better but still not very good.

Brahmah finds himself blocked off at the bridge by Leets who had moved there before him. He can only watch as Leets engages the Mailes soldier.

Taric feels the bite of arrows and without another thought he drops to the ground. His one hope is that he will be harder to hit and continue to control his image this way.

Leets engages the Mailes soldier on the bridge, not quite half way out. His staff scores a nice little blow to the soldier's shoulder, but does little damage. It does not slow him much if at all.

Flat-top pulls back on his bow and takes aim at the sorceress. His first arrow goes a little wide of the sorceress but the second once again makes contact with a shimmering shield that surrounds her.

Kanchana makes her way over to Vasch, having pulled out her healing wand. She intones the command word and heals him for some of his damage.

Kenisha no longer having a clear target of the elementals, decides to fire off her missiles at the sorceress. Each on connects with a resounding flash of light, clearly inflicting damage on her.

Miroband lets his bow slip back down to his side as he watches the fight going on before him. He sees things as very well in hand and no need to do anything himself.

Archer(a) continues his barrage of arrows on Vasch. He sees a weakening link even with the healing that has been given to him (hit: 19/25 , damage: 9/7).

Archer(b) searches the battlefield, looking for a good target. With a shrug of his shoulder he pulls back and fires off some arrows at Kenisha (hit: 11/9 , damage: 4/4).

Soldier(a) accepts the blow from Leets and returns one of his own. His battleaxe arcs in and you know that this man is not pulling any punches (hit: 24/9 , damage: 10/7).

Soldier(b) struggles against the every constricting vines trying to break free. With a last jerking wrench he pulls himself free and moves slowly onto the bridge. He pulls his morningstar as he goes.

The cleric looks around at the other memeber of the Mailed Fist trying to see who is in need the most. Seeing noone in desperate need he starts a spell of his own.

The sorceress feels the impact of the magic missiles and winces. The arrows she is less worried about right now, knowing that her shield will hold for awhile longer. She keeps a hold on her spell even with the magic missiles hitting her. She returns three missiles of her own at Kenisha...a favor returned (Empowered Magic Missile - damage: 6/4/4).

Elemental(a) continues it's movement towards the island.

Elemental(b) also continues to move towards the island and it's designated targets.

The two minotaurs finally muster up some courage and charge the blacktentacles. The bring morningstars in at the thing trying to drive it back into the water (hit: 28, damage: 7) (hit: 17, damage: 9).

*You know that Brahmah could hop up on Leets back and with some appropriate rolls they could both fight that way. Flat-top could also do the same with one of the other centaurs or Vasch. Don't get upset with my comment though, just picture what I said in your head and have a good laugh. :)

Kenisha  6d6(6+6+4+5+6+3)=30
Monday September 22nd, 2003 10:33:25 PM

"Flat-top! Switch to one of the Archers; you'll have a much easier time hitting one of them. This Sorceress has a Shield Spell up." Kenisha called out to her friend as she moved to a better position.

This time she let off with a Lightning Bolt, having moved to catch as many of their adversaries as possible along with the Sorceress.

(OOC- Reflex save vs DC 17 for half; 30 HP of damage. Kenisha will make sure that none of the Chosen are in the path of the bolt.)

Kanchana
Tuesday September 23rd, 2003 1:03:33 AM

Kanchana backs away from Vasch a ways while shaking her head a little. She keeps a firm grip om her wand but decides to wait with healing any of the Chosen until the enemy archers are out of combat; for now at any rate!
Kanchana watches the mercenaries movements and tries to look for the elementals' whereabouts as well.

Taric
Tuesday September 23rd, 2003 1:55:16 AM

Taric keeps on concentrating on the darktentacles, happy to keep the two minotaurs busy. He lets the tentacles react to the impact of the two hits and moves the tentacles in a sweeping motion as if attacking the minotaurs, but missing them by an inch.

OOC: will save to disbelieve: DC 17

Leets
Tuesday September 23rd, 2003 2:53:23 AM

Hearing his Minotaur leader arriving behind him while he is wounded one more time, Leets decides to defend and move backward slowly (Total defense).

During this, Leets will mentally call for Managarm his celestial dog.

"We need you now my dog, for the chosen sake, please come now!"

Brahmah (dodge vs soldier on bridge, AC 24)
Tuesday September 23rd, 2003 3:11:17 AM

Brahmah notices Leets strategic withdrawl and backs up himself. He carefully sets his tanglefoot bag down on the shore and draws his kukri.
When he gets back far enough, he lets Leets off the bridge but steps back on before the soldier can set foot onto the island.
He calls for Pah'caw, his eagle. "Heel." He signals for her to land on his shoulder.

(If I can strike in on the soldier I will

Vasch (AC20)  d20+1=17 d6+2=5
Tuesday September 23rd, 2003 9:47:57 AM

Vasch feels the healing of the wand course through him just as another arrow strikes him. "Kanchana, thanks. Do you have anything that can give those archers some trouble?" He says as he lets loose another arrow. (AC17, 5pts)

Tuesday September 23rd, 2003 3:49:07 PM

Moving slightly so that she can catch two of the Mailed Fist in her spell, Kenisha moves and comments to Flat-top about shooting at the archers.

Kanchana scans the battlefield as she looks for the elementals or any sign of them. Otherwise she takes stock of the area.

From his prone position Taric makes the images appear to have been wounded by the attacks. He then makes them strike back as well, but having them miss.

Leets fall into total defense and then slowly backs up to allow Brahmah to get into the fray. Once back and out of the way a small portal seems to open and Managarm steps out of it. He looks to his master and nuzzles his hand, it seems that he is ready for some fun.

Brahmah lays his tanglefoot bag on the shore and makes for the bridge. He makes it about three-quarters of the way before he stops. The soldier is still about ten feet away and will have to close to attack.

Flat-top takes Kenisha's advice as he pulls back on his bow and then changes his aim to an archer(a). He lets his two arrows fly in that direction.

Vasch asks Kanchana about assistance with the archers and then lets an arrow fly at the archer(a) who he has been after at the begining.

Miroband keeps his mind on the battle before him and barks out orders every once in awhile. He is generally happy with the performance of his men. The sudden effects of a lightning bolt going off gives him a minute of pause. "Ware the caster...bring her down quick or we will have a problem."

Archer(a) feels the bite of one arrow as it enters his thigh, but the others pass harmlessly by him. The lightning passes through his body and he shudders with it's effects (save 26). He pull up his bow under order of their Captain and takes aim at the enemy caster (hit: 16/14, damage: 5/10).

Archer(b) turns his sights on Vasch as his fellow archer turns his attention on the caster. He fires off a pair of arrows of his own in Vasch's direction hoping for a hit (hit: 13/9, damage: 6/5).

Soldier(a) takes a few steps to put him in combat with the new minotaur that has appeared on the bridge. He seems to swallow a little hard as he makes his attacks with his battleaxe (hit: 22/25, damage: 10/4).

Soldier(b) moves up behind his buddy and waits to see what happens. His morningstar is held firmly in his hand and the way he carries it tells you that he is no novice to battle.

The cleric lays her hands on the sorceress after the effects of the lightning bolt and sends healing into her (Cure Moderate Wounds - 15 hps).

The sorceress winces as the lightning passes over and through her body. She is left with little curls of smoke rising from her body (save 22). With a swift movement she hurls her own spell at Kenisha and a green dart forms and hurtles towards her (Melf's Acid Arrow - touch: 11, damage: 7).

Elemental(a) surfaces now on the other side of the water right near Kanchana and Vasch. Without a minutes hesitation it throws it's rocky body at Kanchana (hit: 7, damage: 10).

Elemental(b) is still underground and moving towards the island you would figure.

The first minotaur(a) cleric press his attacks (hit: 15, damage: 13) on the darktentacles seeing his success the first time (disbelief 12).

The other minotaur(b) stops as he sees it for what it is (disbelief 19). He bellows in rage as he turns towards the island and quickly scans it. He begins the preparations for a spell.

Kanchana  d20+6=15 d20+4=24 d20+3=12
Wednesday September 24th, 2003 1:54:27 AM

Kanchana takes a 5-foot step away from the fumbling elemental. Kanchana is moving in Kenisha's direction.
"I am coming Kenisha." Kanchana calls to Kenisha. "But 'ware the elementals. They are here now." Kanchana keeps her eyes on the elemental and begins to desparately think about how to get rid of them.

(Checks to see if Kanchana can think of any useful way to dispatch earth elementals:
Knowledge Arcana 15, Wisdom 24, Intelligence 12)

((OOC: Jim can you make a quick map-sketch so I can see where everyone is in relation to eachother? I need to know how far to move to get to everyone. I would greatly appreciate the map! :) Thanks))

Kanchana - addendum
Wednesday September 24th, 2003 2:06:13 AM

((OOC: Kanchana still has Mage Armor in effect; raising her AC by +2, so does Kenisha. Wouldn't that Melf's Acid Arrow have missed Kenisha with a to hit AC of 11? Just curious! And I wanted to make sure that the Mage Armor was remembered since I forgot to add it after the character post name! Sorry for having to post an addendum.))

Leets  d20+6=25 d20+2=3 d20+2=21

"Managarm, let nobody walk on this island, ok? Stay here my dog, I'll try to come back soon!"

Leets breathes deeply, and begins to run in the direction of the bridge.

"Ok Brahmah! Here we go!"

Leets will try to push the soldier in the water, falling with him if needed...

The arrows fly harmlessly about Vasch as the elemental attacks Kanchana. "Now it time to deal with those mounds of earth." Vasch says dropping his bow and grabbing his spear. With a step towards the elemental Vasch plunges his spear at the elemental. (AC22, Dmg7)

Brahmah accepts the hit from the soldier and even salutes him before turning into a whirling dervish of blades (reflex save DC 20 to keep from getting knocked over as Leets charges from lack of room).

Flat-top smiles to himself as he gets closer with his arrows on the archer(a). He pulls up and fires off another two arrows with confidence.

Kenisha feels the bite of the acid as it burns into her *ignore if it missed, damage: 7 for continued acid damage*. She is still able to get out her own spell and another bolt of lightning rolls across the open swampland.

Taric loads his crossbow as he continues to concentrate on the darktentacle image.

Kanchana takes a few steps back from the elemental and it's poor attacks. She remembers that there is a spell that will dismiss summoned up monsters (dismissal) that would get rid of these elementals and a few that would damage them as well (transmute rock to mud, move earth).

Leets asks of his friend a simple task of guarding the island. He then takes off at a full charge to try and knock the soldier back or into the water (reflex save DC 20 to keep from falling in with him).

Managarm stands his ground and proceeds to do what he was told to do to the best of his ability.

Vasch drops his bow with the appearance of the first earth elemental. He pulls up his spear and stabs at the thing in the chest area. The hit flakes off some rather large chunks of stone from the elemental.

Miroband watches as one of his soldiers goes off the side of the bridge and he grimaces. With a look at the rest he sees that he has little choice but to lend a hand as his men are getting beaten. He pulls up his bow again and fires off a pair of arrow at Brahmah (hit: 23/8, damage: 7/7).

Soldier(a) goes tumbling over the side of the bridge. He snatches at Leets as he goes trying to drag him along with him.

Soldier(b) moves forward to engage Brahmah as his partner goes falling over the side. A pair of arrows get to Brahmah first though. He brings his morningstar in hard at Brahmah (hit: 25/25, damage: 11/6).

Archer(a) feels the effects of another lightning bolt as it surges (save 16) through his body. Unfortunately this time he gets a full dose that sets his hair to standing and smoke to rise from his body. He was just about to pull up his bow for another strike when an arrow plunges into his chest and he feels his bow slipping from his hand. He drops to the ground, slowly bleeding to death.

Archer(b) sees his fellow archer go down and grits his teeth. He pulls up his bow and fires off three arrows this time at Flat-top (hit: 9/15/11, damage: 4/6/8).

The cleric sees that the sorceress is in bad shape and casts a heal spell on her (18hp). He glances and sees that one of the archers has fallen, he starts to make his way to him.

The sorcerss is feeling really bad and not sure how long she will hold out, until she feels the healing powers flow into her. She had found her defenses weakened when the second lightning bolt had hit her (save 10). She smiles gratefully at the cleric and then finishes her spell (magic missiles 2/4/3). Three missiles streak towards Kanchana with unnerving accurracy.

Elemental(a) takes the blow from the spear mindlessly as it slams it's rocky body at Vasch (hit: 24, damage: 6).

Elemental(b) comes up right next to it's mate and tries to crush Vasch as well (hit: 17, damage: 9).

Minotaur(a) makes another assault on the darktentacle image (hit: , damage: ). This time as his morningstar hits the image he sees it for what it really it, a clever trick (save 23).

Minotaur(b) finishes his spell and smiles as it finishes. He knows that a rude surprise is in order.

Kanchana (Mage Armor AC 20)  d8+3=8
Wednesday September 24th, 2003 7:29:05 PM

A look of dismay passes over Kanchana's features as she realizes that any hope they had of magically ridding themselves of the elementals is beyond their grasp. Kanchana makes her way to Kenisha as quickly as she can. Suddenly she feels the painful impact of the magic missiles fully striking her in her exposed flank. She grinds her teeth in pain and a single tear streams from her eyes as the first searing pain subsides leaving dull pounding aches in its wake.
When Kanchana reaches Kenisha she promptly touches her wand to her and softly speaks the trigger word.

(Heals Kenisha 8 HP)

((OOC: Jim I got the map. Thank you.))

Kenisha (AC 22 Mage Armor  6d6(4+5+2+5+4+1)=21
Wednesday September 24th, 2003 10:04:54 PM

(OOC- I thought armor bonuses of any kind didn't get added to touch ACs (Mage Armor gives a +4 armor bonus). Therefor Kenisha's touch AC would be 10 -1 (size) +2 (Dex)=11. If Mage Armor does get used then it would be 15. Let me know if I've got it wrong.)

Kenisha nods her thanks to Kanchana as she is healed a bit by her magics. "We've got to take that sorceress out!" she says before letting loose with a third Lightning Bolt; aiming to get as many as she can with the spell in addition to the sorceress.

(eyeballing the map I think I can get G) soldier and E) archer as well as C)sorceress. Reflex save vs DC 17 for half; 21 HP of damage

OOC:

Touch AC's unfortunately are, your dex, size and deflection ONLY, unless the spell specifically says so. I believe Mage Armor is strictly 'armor', unless dealing with incorporeal critters then it matters. I think its a force effect.

Flat footed AC, just FYI, is just minus your dex, and any other effects that hinder affective dex(ie entangle or the like).

Just my input. ;)

Brahmah just barely stops himself from falling over the side as Leets clips him. He tries to not make it too obvious as he becomes a flurry of action, ripping into the soldier.

Kanchana accepts the missiles as a natural part of battle and concentrates on healing Kenisha with her wand. Kenisha feels the soft glow of healing spread through her body.

Kenisha rips off another lightning bolt in the direction of the sorceress, or at least would have it any words would have come out of her mouth. She knows that she said the words but she could not hear them. (acid damage for last time 6hp)

Taric pops up letting his image fade as he fires off his bolt at the sorceress.

Managarm continues to keep guard of the island as he back up Brahmah should he fall.

Vasch is able to dodge the first attack of the elemental, but it forces him into the other one's slam. He gets the wind driven out of him and is only barely able to attack back. Vasch suddenly finds himself flanked by a pair of elementals, not a good place to be.

Leets is unalbe to stop his charge and finds himself following the soldier right off the side of the log bridge.

Miroband smiles as he sees the enemy caster try to cast a spell and it gets stopped. He can only grin and send out silent thanks to the minotaur cleric. He notches another two arrows to his bow and lets them fly in the direction of Brahmah (hit: 9/14, damage: 11/11).

Soldier(g) finds himself trying to tread water as he went over the side and ended up in the water.

Soldier(f) grunts under the single blow that gets through his defenses, the rest he takes off his shield. He returns the favor with some attacks of his own (hit: 13/24, damage: 9/7).

Archer(d) continues to bleed out on the ground where he fell.

Archer(e) fires off another three arrows at Flat-top as he tries to help even the odds in the Mailed Fist's favor (hit: 9/7/15, damage: 8/9/5).

The cleric hits the sorceress with another healing spell as he wonders how to keep her alive and help out the archer (16hp).

The sorcerss watches as her shield turns away the missile fired at her with blue sparks. She flings her own hand at Kanchana as she finishes a high pitched cry. Another set of magic missiles fly at Kanchana (damage: 2/4/3).

Elemental(b) finds that his stony skin turns away the attacks of Vasch as he fights for his life. Mindlessly the elemental tries to slam Vasch again and drive the life out of him (hit: 23, damage: 7).

Elemental(c) brings his own heavy body into play on the other side of Vasch (hit: 17, damage: 10).

Minotaur(1) heads for the downed archer with haste, hoping to help him before it is too late.

Minotaur(2) heads for the waters edge to help out the Mailed Fist that fell into the water.

[Will need a double post from Flat-top for last combat and this one. Put back in the healing from the wand, thought it needed a command word to use.]

Wands do not require a verbal component to use them. They just require being held and then pointed at the target. That being the case, I would assume that Kanchana's healing occurs?

Kanchana  d20+11=30

Kanchana; once again tries to shrug off the pain of the magical attacks, sets to work on healing the acid damage to Kenisha. She cleans the acidwound with water from her own waterskin (taking time to do so, to try and stop the acid from burning further) and takes out some bandages from her kit and bandages the wound. Kanchana determines that her own wounds will have to be healed later.

The elemental continue their asault on Vasch. Blood sprays from Vasch's mouth as again one finds the mark striking Vasch with a solid blow. A flood of fight or flee images and impluses rush through his mind as he looks through his own fight to that of the other. Seeing the Chosen being occupied by there own battles, Vasch gets better position (back 5 ft to not be flanked) and at the top of his lungs "GRRR...TOMI GIVE ME STRENGTH!" Vasch then starts to call out a prayer to Tomi which sounds more like a battle chant then a prayer as he continues his attacks on the elementals.

Flat-top fires off a pair of arrows at the sorceress. His first arrow glances off the sparkling blue shield and the second is partially deflected by the shield, but part of it gets through.

Brahmah cannot believe that Leets just went over the side of the bridge with the first soldier. Getting his mind back on business his blades become a blur of strikes as he presses his attack.

Kenisha is angered over the sudden silencing but takes the reprieve to drink down a potion and let Kanchana tend her wounds.

Taric goes for the distraction attempt as he places a spell near the sorceress and the cleric. The sudden pattern is pretty and hypnotic, but how effective is to be seen.

Kanchana goes to work on Kenisha to stop the acid from doing any further harm. She is quite successful in her treatment and soon the wound is lots better, leaving behind little pain.

Managarm howls his protest as his master goes over the side of the bridge and creates a big splash, but true to his word he holds his ground. He does growl at the soldier that is attacking Brahmah.

Vasch hates to admit it, but he does ponder the idea of running from the elementals. Taking a pounding he backs off and unleashes another series of attacks on the first elemental.

Miroband takes stock of the situation again so that he can decide on orders. Seeing that all is in hand, he notches another two arrows to his bow and lets them fly in the direction of Kenisha this time (hit: 23/12, damage: 11/11).

Soldier(g) makes it to the shore and finds a minotaur waiting to help him out of the water.

Soldier(f) takes to of the blows that Brahmah launches as he is unable to get his shield in the way. With renewed vigor he launches his own series of attacks (hit: 23/10, damage: 10/6).

Archer(d) continues to bleed out on the ground where he fell.

Archer(e) fires off another two arrows at Flat-top as he tries to help even the odds in the Mailed Fist's favor (hit: 13/11, damage: 10/5).

The cleric goes to heal the sorceress and then stops dead in his tracks as he notices the lights.

The sorcerss feels the bite of one of the arrows as her shield goes down. She ponders the idea of putting it back up, but knows that she must wait. Then the pattern hits and she is mesmerized at it's beauty.

Elemental(b) crumbles into a pile of dirt and gemstones before the newest onslaught of Vasch's attacks.

Elemental(c) slams itself into at Vasch again, not really caring that it's help has fallen(hit: 14, damage: 8).

Minotaur(1) makes it to the archers side and starts the beginnings of a spell that will help out the archer greatly.

Minotaur(2) helps the soldier out of the water as he watches the events on the island.

Saturday September 27th, 2003 9:14:20 AM

Flat-top picks up the last two arrows, knotch them, aims at the Sorceress and let's them fly. "Brahmah! I'm out of arrows, Where do you want me?" Flat-top will put his bow down, pich up his shield and un wrap his Morning Star from his neck. He'll go to either Vasch or Kenisha"s side. (Unless of course he find some more arrows that is??)

Kenisha (Mage Armor; AC 22)  3d4(4+4+2)+3=13
Sunday September 28th, 2003 11:25:42 PM

Kenisha pulls out a wand at points it at Miroband after his arrow embeds itself into her side. The missiles fly from the wand with unerring accuracy towards the leader of the Mailed Fist.

(Wand of Magic Missiles (5th level) for 13 pts of damage)

Taric
Monday September 29th, 2003 1:46:14 AM

Taric moves over to Flat-Top and hands him his crossbow, with a bolt already loaded, and his quiver with 9 more bolts.
"Take this!" is all he says to Flat-top. He then keeps on concentrating to keep the sorceress and cleric captivated by the swirling lights.

OOC: Handing Flat-Top his Large, MW, Light Crossbow. Damage is 2d6 per bolt. +1 to attack rolls from being MW.

Kanchana
Monday September 29th, 2003 2:22:09 AM

Kanchana takes a 5-foot step away from Kenisha and looks back to where the elementals are; seeing that there appears to only be one left she grins. However Vasch still does not seem to be in good health. Kanchana takes her wand of healing from between her teeth and clenches it in her right hand once more as she again makes her way back to Vasch.

*Last Round*
Leets manages to swim under the water of the bridge and make his way to shore. With some effort he pulls himself out.

*This Round*
Brahmah feels a moment of joy at the happenings around him, before he turns his attention back to the soldier before him. His blades once again become a blur of movement, but he notices that he is only able to get one through to his target.

Flat-top makes himself ready to take on a more personal role in combat, pulling his shield and morningstar. He hears Brahmah tell him to go to Vasch and Tarics' against the elemental.

Kenisha pulls up a wand and points it at Miroband after his arrow had hit her earlier. A series of magic missiles are launched from the tip and head straight for him.

Taric offers his crossbow to Flat-top when he gets to them and some bolts to go along with it. Meanwhile he concentrates on holding the cleric and sorceress in thrall.

Managarm stands his ground just behind Brahmah still taking his defense role seriously.

Kanchana heads back over towards Vasch to give him a little healing, as he is starting to look bad. She makes it most of the distance but is still too shy of him to do any healing.

Leets charges down on the sorceress, reaching her easily. He rears up on hind legs, slashing his front hooves at the sorceress. Shivering from the water earlier and a little tired from the swim, he misses with both hooves.

Miroband turns red in anger as he sees the new developments. Then he is slamed by some magic missiles and his days is getting worse. With a growl he nocks another two arrows and fires them again at Kenisha (hit: 28/24, damage: 10/8).

Soldier(g) stands slowly and takes stock of his situation. Surprisingly he had retained his weapon and shield despite the fall and swim. He takes stock of the bridge situation and shakes his head. Instead he flat out runs towards Leets, to give a hand to the cleric and sorceress.

Soldier(f) takes te single blow that slips through his defenses. He steps up the tempo as he makes his own set of attacks (hit: 21/12, damage: 6/3).

Archer(d) feels some healing powers flow into his body and restores some of his life. He slowly stands, with bow in hand and staggers a little.

Archer(e) sees that the minotaur has run out of arrows and he smiles. With a slight turn he puts himself in line to shoot at Kenisha (hit: 9/18, damage: 6/7).

Elemental(c) continues it's relentless barrage of stone body slams on Vasch (hit: 11, damage: 11).

Minotaur(1) lays his hands on the archer and finishes his spell. Light surrounds his hands as he pours healing power into the archer (20hp).

Minotaur(2) moves away from the soldier that he had helped out of the water earlier. He then scans the area to see where he would be of most use and he sees it. He begins the gestures and words to another spell.

He carefully calcuates his attacks so that he may be able to move after them, assuming he drops the soldier.
(I keep forgetting to add my favored enemy human to the damage, oh well, I'll remember now :))
He attacks, his blades whirl around and around.

Kenisha's face contorts in silent agony as two more arrows sink deeply into her; her blood flowing from the wounds. But she is resolved to not shrink back from this fight. The lives of two innocents lay in the balance.

Once more her wand sends forth their magical missiles at Miroband (for another 13 HP of damage).

Taric
Tuesday September 30th, 2003 1:23:19 AM

Taric holds on for the crossbow for now, having it at the ready to hand over to Flat-Top though. He keeps concentrating on the colorful light. He notices one of the minotaurs begin to cast a spell, but knows there's not much he can do right now.

"Wow...A lot of people around now, I'd better do something about it..."

Facing the most heavily equiped opponent, Leets prepares to attack soldier #G. When he makes contact, he'll try to disarm him to steal his weapon (whatever it is...).

Kanchana puts her wand into it's forearmsheath and readies herself to attack the elemental with her fists and claws if she has to.

The elemental's attack never get close to its mark as Vasch's readied defense let's him keep the mound from getting close enough to be dangerous.

"Thanks, Kanchana, for the help." Vasch says feeling the rejuvenating power of the wand flow through him.

With Kanchana there to aid him, Vasch decides that he can risk another hit from the elemental. He comes in hard at the elemental attempting to finish it quickly. (AC:19/14/21, D:4/5/10)

Flat-top heads to help Vasch and uopn reaching him swings his morningstar at the earth elemental. Both of his attacks striking true on the elemental.

Brahmah lets his weapons do the talking for him as another flurry of blows is exchanged. His kukri strikes true twice but the soldiers shield turns away the falchion.

Kenisha uses her wand to fire off a few more magic missiles at Miroband.

Taric notices the one minotaur start to cast a spell and unable to do anything else he concentrates on the lights. He holds the crossbow for Flat-top in case he needs it later.

Leets's charge has lead him up to the sorceress and the cleric, but he turns his attention to the soldier that is chasing him down. He attempts to steal his morningstar so that he can turn it against the soldier.

Kanchana makes it over to Vasch and plies him with some healing so that he can hold out against the elemental.

Vasch takes the chance to make his own set of attacks against the earth elemental. He just hopes that he has chosen well as he makes his attacks. His first attack is solid, the next glances off the things skin and the third stabs into it as well.

Managarm continue to stand his ground as the fight goes on, though he does make a plantiff moan as he has nothing to do.

Miroband shouts out another set of orders to his men. Shortly after his orders are given he feels the bite of magic missiles again. With a growl he nocks another two arrows and fires them again at Kenisha (hit: 16/11, damage: 6/10).

Soldier(g) finds himself in a dire situation as Leets tries to disarm him (AOA hit: 12, damage: 3)(disarm hit: 21). He finds his morningstar is now in the hands of his attacker. Not to be outdone he pulls his shortsword (quick draw) and attacks with it instead (hit: 30*crit 30*/19, damage: 13/9).

Soldier(f) takes the single blow that slips through his defenses. He steps up the tempo as he makes his own set of attacks (hit: 26/7, damage: 12/8).

Archer(d) feeling slightly better after a little healing nocks an arrow to his bow and lets it fly, soon to be followed by another at Vasch (hit: 20/12, damage: 9/3).

Archer(e) continues his barrage of arrows at Kenisha intent on taking her out of the picture(hit: 14/11, damage: 8/5).

The cleric snaps out of his daze as well and looks to the sorceress. With a shake of his head he taps her with the healing wand (4hp). The cleric starts the words to another spell for next round.

The sorcerss comes out of her daze and looks around. She pulls up the wand that she was going to use earlier and aims it at Brahmah (damage: 4+3=7). She then begins the words for another spell as she glances to Leets and wonders how he got there.

Elemental(b) is a pile of rock and gems.

Elemental(c) crumbles into a pile of rock and gems under the combined assault of Flat-top and Vasch.

Minotaur(1) makes his way to the soldier on the bridge and pours some healing into him. That will allow them to keep The Chosen traped on the other side (21hp). He begings the words to another spell for next round.

Minotaur(2) casts a spell in the direction of the sorceress and cleric for the Mailed Fist. He then begins preparations for another spell to follow that one.

Brahmah looks very bad currently, bashed and burnt.
"Flat-top, I need you and Vasch! Kanchana! Leets, get Managarm into the fray!! Chosen, converge on the bridge!"

He calls for his eagle to defend him. (Pah'caw will attack 'f' to 'Aid' Brahmahs AC +2, successfully hitting AC 25) Brahmah's AC versus 'f' this round is 26.

He strikes at 'f' again, this time, in desperation waiting for the Chosen to back him.

Hitting AC's 28(confirm with 27), 14, 7 and 9/for 20 (+2 from human enemy), 22 damage on 'f'.
Brahmah snarls at the minotaur healing the soldier. He uses the minotaur body language that younger minotaurs use when questioning another minotaurs parentage (good old innuendo!!).
"Your father doesn't have the horns!" Says Brahmah. "In servitude for these... humans! Your not a noble taur, your a noble slave." Brahmah is quite serious in his insults.

Brahmah taunts the minotuar that just healed the soldier he is fighting. Still he does not let up with his own series of attacks and even gets his hawk into the fray to aid him.

Kenisha sends her next series of magic missiles at the cleric to maybe distract him from his spell casting.

Flat-top takes the loaded crossbow and fires off a bolt at the soldier fighitng Brahmah. The arrow sinks deeply into the man's leg.

Kanchana suddenly realizes that she is fighting a losing situation, but pours some more healing into Vasch. She then turns and starts towards Brahmah as he looks to be in dire straights.

Taric thinks fast a cast a disc spell so that he can get Brahmah to a better position and give some more aid.

Leets sees his options as limited and heals himself with lay on hands. He then spins and makes full out for the water. Despite his size an all he slices into the water with no problems.

Managarm growls with the sudden feeling that he will see some combat. He has had enough of guarding this little bridge while everyone else has fun.

Suddenly everyone of The Chosen feels a burning sensation on thier person, wherever they put the amber at. It is not uncomfortable but a warmth bred more of healing power. Everyone suddenly finds their wounds healing over to some extent (24hp).

Miroband lets his bow come back to a resting position as he sees once again they have the game well in hand.

Soldier(g) chases after Leets but is soon left behind and eating dust. He stops at the waters edge and glares.

Soldier(f) takes the single blow that slips through his defenses. Then he feels the bite of a bolt into his leg and the drain on his stamina is getting to be too much. He takes a step back, fumbling for a potion at his belt after dropping his shield (8hp).

Archer(d) takes in the situation on the island and grins. He figures that The Chosen have just about had enough and will surrender soon. Maybe even sooner as he fires off another set of arrows at Vasch (hit: 26/11, damage: 5/9).

Archer(e) gives Kenisha that, I have you look as he fires off another pair of arrows. The archer bites his lip as the string breaks and an arrow slices into his own arm (hit: 21/8, damage: 9/3).

The cleric is able to hold onto his spell despite the sudden volley of missiles that hit him. He smiles through the pain as he finishes the spell he began (Hold Person on Flat-top; will save negates DC 16).

Surging with dryad healing power, Brahmah feels a new invigoration and one with the isand, he steps forward to meet the fumbling soldier, hopefully able to step on his shield. He pauses long enough for the ailing man to drink his fill of healing, then strikes at him.

Brahmah signals for Pah'caw to defend for him again, she hovers clawing at the man, hitting AC 9 to Aid, unsuccessful Aid.

The Captain is a blur of blades once again.
(Hitting AC's 17, 25, 19 and 23/for 15, 8, 9 and 5 damage) He sinks his kukri in twice, again frusterated that his fathers remaining falchion is failing him. Maybe his dad is telling him that the fight is unneccessary.

Kanchana begins to move quickly towards Brahmah and doesn't break stride as the healing from the amber begins to flood through her body. She sighs and then offers up a joyous prayer to Mother Wold, not having quite realized that the healing came from the amber. She will ponder this small miracle at a later time.
Kanchana feels a spell try to take hold of her but ignores it's effects. She draws her wand from it's forearmsheath as she hurries. If she comes close enough to Brahmah then she will touch the wand carefully to his back and then back up a 5 foot step in order to keep out of Brahmah's way.

Brahmah continues his taunts of the minotaur helping the soldier by the bridge. With a show of honor he lets the soldier drink down his potion, before letting his weapons speak for him once again.

Flat-top fires off first one bolt and then another in rapid succession. Both of his bolts are true and strike the sorceress, but the distance is too great for percision.

Vasch takes out a potion and downs it in a gulp. He is starting to look like a porcupine and that is not a god thing he knows.

Kenisha returns magic missile fire at the archer. All the time snorting at his cockiness.

Kanchana is able to make it to Brahmah and hit him with a bit of healing, but she is unable to back away from him. Still he has no problem with combat and her being so close.

Leets makes it to the other side of the shore and pulls himself out of the water. He is rather tired from the swim but takes the time to take in all that is happening.

Taric avoids the webs but is now in the middle of the webs. He concentrates on keeping out of the way and his shield spell that he is putting up.

Managarm whines as he continues to stand in the spot that he was told to defend. He is not really that happy.

Miroband growls about some of the actions that are going on but does not get into the fight yet.

Soldier(g) makes his way back towards the bridge and hopefully the fight.

Soldier(f) only feels a moments relief as he drinks down the potion. As the taur before him becomes another blur of blade, he feels his life ebb and feels himself slipping to the ground despite he will to fight.

Archer(d) smiles as he sees Vasch taking out a potion to drink, knowing that it must be worse than he had thought. He pulls up another arrow and fires it off at him, followed by another after that (hit: 15/12, damage: 3/7).

Archer(e) finds himself with one of his own arrows in his arm and now being pounded by magic missiles. He grits his teeth as he forces the arrow the rest of the way out of his arm and then begins the process of bandaging it up.

The cleric casts another healing spell into the sorceress (19hp). He then makes his way towards the wounded archer to help him out now.

The sorceress groans under the assault that she is receiving from the minotaur on the other side. Figuring that she has little time left she summons up the last of her strength and fires off a fireball to land near Flat-top (damage: 18, reflex DC 20 for half damage).

He steps over the human, interposing himself between the minotaur and the dying man.
"Chosen, heal him if he lives. Then bind him. Don't kill the human."
He crosses his blades in front of him, pointing away from the taur. He goes full defensive.
"Brother Taur, I don't wish to harm you, but you and I KNOW these Children are the future." His face goes serious, but calm. "Please, leave here now, taking your taur partner with you and we all come out with our Honor entact."

Flat-top fires off a pair of bolts that hit the archer when he is paying attention to Kenisha. Both bury themselves in his body drawing blood.

Brahmah stands over the downed soldier, setting himself for a defensive stand. He tries to issue an order for saving the soldier, but no words come out.

Kenisha fires off three magic missiles at the same archer that had shot at her earlier. While his missiles had missed, her's hit with total accuracy. Kenisha moves some twenty feet following the water away from Brahmah and finds that she can now talk.

Kanchana gets the suttle hints from Brahmah's body language to help the soldier that fell at this feet. She makes it forward and drags the soldier back behind the rest. She starts to help him when he gasps his last breathe.

Leets throws his last javelin at the minotaur approaching the bridge. The javelin arcs and finds a niche in his armor. Leets looks around and finds several fist sized rocks (10) laying near the water.

Taric reaches Brahmah and casts his spell?? No words come out of his mouth though and he stamps the ground.

Managarm continues his guard duties, but is sitting and looking around as well.

Miroband growls and pulls back up his bow. He takes sight on Kenisha as he see her move out of the silenced area. He pulls back and fires off a pair of arrows at her (hit: 16/29*crit20* , damage: 10/10*crit17*).

Soldier(g) makes it to the bridge to find the minotaur in his way. He just shrugs as he lets the minotaur step up to take on the other mnotaur.

Archer(d) fires two more arrows in Vasch's direction trying to get a hit on him this time(hit: 31*crit20*/16, damage: 5*crit15*/5).

Archer(e) feels better as his injury is healed by the cleric. With just a little bit of pain he slips his hand into his quiver and pulls out a new string, to restring his bow.

The cleric reaches the archer who injured himself and quickly applies a little healing to take care of the injuries (8hp).

Putting some things to rest.
Sunday October 5th, 2003 1:19:41 AM

Just wanted to point out that Kenisha and Kanchana both posted to my comment on the silence spell. Kenisha had a spell fail of her own and Kanchana reminded me of the effects of silence on wand useage. I have also given other hints as to no sound coming out of peoples' mouths.

I am going to allow Taric to make a new action in this case as I may have not been clear enough on my posts. You must also remember that it is not my responsibility to point out to a player to use spellcraft to identify a spell. Please noone take this wrong just a reminder that the skill is there for that reason.

I have run back over the number for everyone and can safely say that noone is dead yet or even into the negative area. The one exception would be Vasch who owes me two posts. Depending on how his reflex save goes he may still be standing, if not he will be the only one in negative numbers.

Hold to faith my players that I have no intentions to kill off any characters....yet. :)

Jay, posting apology
Sunday October 5th, 2003 3:53:47 AM

I was forgetting that the amber activated.
Had it not done so, said characters would be dead.

For my comment, however, I do apologize to Jim if I sounded upset or seemed less than greatful for his DMing (which has been telling the story better than some recently).

Hats off to Jim for his efforts.

AS FOR POSTING REGULARLY.... PEOPLE, GET THOSE POSTS IN ON TIME.... WE DON'T WANT THE SHERIFF HOLDING OUR GAME. ;) VASCH, THIS GOES FOR YOU TO... ;)

One last thing, about tactics... the Mailed Fists are cooperating well, I think we can do just as good or better.
Casters, watch you spells the Fist' are churning through their spells fast, we will need ours. Hit hard, and fast.
Fighters, converge on the bridge. Divided we fall.

Vasch  d20+10=19
Sunday October 5th, 2003 10:36:28 AM

Kanchana  d20+11=17 d20+3=19 d20+4=6 d20+7=26
Sunday October 5th, 2003 5:50:57 PM

Kanchana begins to check the wounded man's injuries in earnest only to find; to her horror, that he has already passed on. She offers up a quick prayer to Tomi and Mother Wold that the man may find peace in the Afterlife. She shoots Managarm an angry glance for desecrating the dead.
Kanchana feels that her mind is weary, she is worried that she might fail to keep her companions uninjured enough to continue fighting. She thinks that something isn't quite right. Somehow it is too quiet. Kanchana seems momentarily confused as she racks her brain trying to figure out what spells are in affect around her at the moment. She thinks that she must be affected by a perception altering spell. Kanchana curses loudly and colorfully in the muted silence enveloping her.

(Heal 17, Intelligence check 19, Wisdom check 6, Spellcraft 26 (I hope that it is enough to figure out a spell already in effect))

((OOC: I quite mistakenly thought that the Silence spell was cast directly on Kenisha. Therefore I assumed that by moving away from her Kanchana could hear and talk again. Hence Kanchana talking to Brahmah. I actually didn't realize that Silence could be cast on an area too. Talk about a FUBR on my part! Well we all know what they say about assuming... <grin>))

Leets comes by the side of the soldier and will first see how he's going (Heal 17, 22 to stabilize him). If it's not enough, he will use his last point of Lay on Hands to save him.

Taric
Monday October 6th, 2003 2:32:16 AM

Taric realizes that no sound came out of his mouth during the casting of his last spell. He then realizes the smug look on the face of the minotaur cleric and it becomes pretty clear to Taric what the minotaur has done. He decides to move back until he can hear himself walk on the ground again. Satisfied he then casts the same spell again, making Brahmah a lot faster.

OOC:
moving backwards until out of the silence spell and then casting haste on Brahmah.

Monday October 6th, 2003 2:01:53 PM

*Last Round*
Vasch takes the full blast from the fireball as it goes off near him. The intense heat takes away his breathe.

*This Round*
Vasch feels the bite of a pair of arrows into his body. Feeling his life slowly ebb, but not die out he slumps to the ground.

Pah'caw dives at the minotaur attacking his master and pulls out just in time, both claws digging a patch of hair out.

Flat-top tries to get Brahmah to push the cleric off the bridge, but no words come out. He settles for cussing a lot, in the silence spell area, and fires off a pair of bolts at the sorceress.

Managarm, a little confused at the fact that he makes no sound when he barks throws dirt on the body of the dead soldier.

Kanchana checks the dead soldier and finds that he has expired. She gives out a prayer for him as she gives Managarm a sharp look for the dirt. Kanchana knows that a silence spell is in affect and is either center on an are or something other than Kenisha.

Kenisha makes it all the way over to Vasch and kneels by his side. Unfortunately she must wait to check on him and see how bad off he is. She can immediately tell that Vasch is still alive.

Leets makes it over to the soldier that Kanchana is holding. She shakes her head as he bends to check on him.

Taric backs away from Brahmah, about eight feet, and finds that he can hear his footsteps again. He takes the time to cast haste on Brahmah again, this time with more success.

You all feel another burst of healing energy pass through your bodies (17hp). *This will be enough to stabilize Vasch, but not raise his hit points. Everyone else feels the full effects.*

Miroband shoulders his bow, once again happy with the situation as it stands. He is worried about his man, but from the looks figures that he is dead. It grieves him but he cannot give up now, his superiors would not be happy.

Soldier(g) charges onto the bridge as the minotaur goes down and lands in the water. His shortsword cuts at Brahmah with determination (hit: 21/21, damage: 7/10).

Soldier(f) has passed onto the other realm.

Archer(d) sees that Vasch has fallen and changes his missile fire over to Leets (hit: 16/29, damage: 5/6).

Archer(e) restrings his bow and gently pulls on it to test his arm. It is a little weak, but more than able to pull on the bow. Gingerly he pulls on the string with an arrow nocked, firing first one then another at Flat-top (hit: 11/13, damage: 10/9).

The cleric applies a little bit more healing to the archer as he prepares to take his shots at the group. Glancing around he will make it a priority to make it back to the sorceress next round (14hp).

The sorceress feels the bite of bolts into her body and despite her best effort to stay standing she has no luck as she slumps to the ground. A puddle of blood is slowly forming under her, but if she is dead or not is unknown.

Elemental(b) is a pile of rock and gems.

Elemental(c) is a pile of rock and gems.

Minotaur(1) slips off the bridge as his morningstar clatters to the log bridge. He lands with a splash and floats there.

Minotaur(2) dumps another healing spell into the soldier so that he can compete with the minotaur on the bridge (13hp).

[Wanted to comment on the past few comments that I have made here. I am not upset about anything that Jay has questioned me on. This is one type of feedback that helps me run a better game for you. Kenisha (Mage Armor, AC 22)  d20+5=16

Vasch lies on the ground with Kenisha over him. His breathing is more steady and rythmic as death's door falls slowly away.

Brahmah (68 of 70hps) Hasted (land speed 60ft)  d20+15=28 2d4(3+1)+9=13
Tuesday October 7th, 2003 12:09:20 AM

OOC: Taric, Haste can effect multiple targets, one per level, which can't be more than 30ft apart.

Upset that blood has been spilt on the island.

Brahmah feels the healing surge, this time, from an unknown source. He believes Domi is helping out this time, because he feels more battle ready and faster than usual.

Looking up at the space in front of him, realizing that a gap has formed. No minotaur, no soldier, he sees two potential targets.
Miroband and archer 'd'. (Assuming that no one has stepped into the way.)

He gestures for Pah'caw.

"Hold the bridge Flat-top, Leets! That's an order!" Doesn't give orders often, it felt... off, somehow.

He charges the archer, Falchion raised. "Get to know me, Domi!"

Dodge vs archer 'd', AC 22+haste= AC 23 on the charge.
Hits AC 28, for 13 damage(includes human enemy damage).
"Your mine, Miroband!" Pointing the kukri his direction.

OOC: Is Miroband human, I assume?

Taric
Tuesday October 7th, 2003 1:26:54 AM

Taric surveys the battle, preparing his next spell. He sees the sorceror has fallen over and notices the cleric on the way to her. He decides to make it a little harder for the cleric to get there by casting grease around the sorceress.

OOC: That's what you get for not having the book, but instead working from the SRD. If DM James would allow it, Taric would like to affect Brahmah, Flat-Top, Leets, Kenisha and Kanchana. The effect would last a total of 5 rounds.

Ref save against the grease: DC 15

Kanchana (Mage Armor, AC 17 due to running)
Tuesday October 7th, 2003 1:48:54 AM

Kanchana leaves the dead man where he is as she looks around her trying to get an overview of the situation. She covers the dead soldier as best she can with his cloak (while looking around; and provided he has one) having heard somewhere that other people sometimes do that with their dead.
Kanchana spots Brahmah charging off of the bridge and wonders where he is heading. Then after pausing briefly to ponder Brahmah's actions she turns to see Vasch laying on the ground with Kenisha tending him. Eventhough she is still silenced; she snatches the wand out from between her lips and holds it in her hand, she yells out "oh no! VASCH!!" and takes off running towards him, trying to grab Leets' arm in the process hoping to get him to follow her. Kanchana is seriously worried that Vasch might not survive this combat.

(run x2, 80ft.)

Leets  d20+6=26
Tuesday October 7th, 2003 2:12:38 AM

Leets doesn't hear Brahmah's call to defend the bridge, so he follows Kanchana as she pulls him.
Soon seeing Vasch, he bows by his side and tries to do his best (which is the case, natural 20 on Heal check).
And since he's under a Haste spell, he will then head for the bridge, following Brahmah.

Paw'caw (Ceil)
Tuesday October 7th, 2003 6:27:21 AM

The golden eagle flies in her circle eight patern, watching her master at all times. He jesters for her, she is going into her spiral desent and will land on his padded Shoulder on his armer. "SCREEECH!" in answer to his jesters.

Managram (Dogface Ceil)
Tuesday October 7th, 2003 6:38:15 AM

Managram bark at Kachana "----? ----?" No sound, but know how to let her know of his displeasure. The dog goes to lift his leg on that big cat's paw but she's alread gone.
Spots his master going with her, he run after Leets trying to bark "----! ----!" still no sound.

Flat-top
Tuesday October 7th, 2003 6:57:41 AM

Flat-top (who was right behind Brahmar) points to Microband, them he points to himself and to the sorecess (wanting to go and take care of her)But no sound. Untill Brahmah step almost off the log bridge, then Flat-top hears "Hold the bridge Flat-top, Leets. That's an order!"
Now Flat-top being a milatary Centaur, knows when a CO tells you THAT AN ORDER, you better well do it. He does not like it BUT he stays put, with his Morning Star in hand and his shield up. Watching Soldier(g).

OOC: if Leets tries to pass Flat-top on the log bridge (which lets only one can pass at a time) Will they both go into the water??

Tuesday October 7th, 2003 2:16:48 PM

Kenisha finds that Vasch is still breathing. He has two arrows in him that she gently pulls out, parts of them breaking off. She can tell that he is going to need to have wounds cleaned before bandaging.

Vasch, though unconscious can feel the presence of Kenisha tending to his wounds. He had felt some outside force pulling him away from death's door.

Brahmah makes it to within two feet of making it off the bridge before he has a soldier appear in his way.

Taric interposes a grease spell between the sorceress and the cleric that is heading to heal her.

Kanchana shows respect to the fallen soldier and then takes survey of the battlefield. It is then that she notices Vasch is down and in a bad way. She jumps to her feet and heads in his direction, pulling Leets are as she passes. She makes it to Vasch's side where Kenisha is already tending to him.

Leets first follows along with Kanchana to check on Vasch. With a check look over he sees that the two ladies have things well in hand. He wheels and heads for the bridge so that he can lend aid there.

Pah'caw circles lazily above the group waiting for orders. With a simple shake of her head she swoops down towards Brahmah, lightly landing on his shoulder.

Managarm is displeased with Kanchana and her berating of him earlier. He was just about to relieve himself on her hand when she took off. With a sniff he follows along, still not at all please. Besides, he has no bark...what kind of a dog has no bark.

Flat-top follows along behind Brahmah and then has to stop as Brahmah is caught by the last soldier. His hand tightening on his morningstar shows his impatience and he gestures to Miroband to let him know that he is next.

Miroband pulls out his sword after putting away his bow. He salutes Kanchana for her treatment of his fallen soldier. With a last move he pulls his shield around and then plunges his sword into the ground. He pulls a gem from his neck and clasps it in his shield hand, then pulls back up his shield and waits.

Soldier(g) cuts Brahmah off from getting across the bridge. His face is set with determination as he swings his shortsword (hit: 32*crit 23*/24, damage: 5*crit 15*/9).

Soldier(f) is dead.

Archer(d) takes a bead on Brahmah as he almost makes it across the bridge. The hope to weaken him down before he gets any further (hit: 18/27, damage: 10/3).

Archer(e) gaining a little more confidence pulls up another pair of arrows and fires them off at Brahmah (hit: 14/22, damage: 8/6).

The cleric turns and starts to race towards the downed sorceress when he hits a patch of grease. He just barely keeps his footing (ref 15) when he hits the grease, still it slows him down.

The sorceress condition is still unknown to everyone. She continues to lay in an ever growing pool of blood.

Elemental(b) is a pile of rock and gems.

Elemental(c) is a pile of rock and gems.

Minotaur(1) is dead.

Minotaur(2) pulls out his morningstar as he waits for the soldier on the bridge to make his attacks. Maybe he will have room to get in a strike.

[Make note of everyone that Taric had the haste spell effect. I will allow him to have it effect more than one person.]

Kenisha (Mage Armor; AC 22)  6d6(2+1+6+2+1+3)=15
Tuesday October 7th, 2003 11:12:06 PM

"Can you finish this, Kanchana? You're knowledge of healing is better than mine. Besides. I have something for these baby killers that they will definitely not like." Kenisha's voice darkens as she adds this last bit before she rises up and moves so that she has a clear shot at Miroband (if she can get any of the others without hitting the Chosen she will but her main target is Miroband).

She then begins to cast her spell her hands aimed at the leader of the Mailed Fist as the electricity begins to gather.

Leets
Wednesday October 8th, 2003 2:04:14 AM

Leets feels terrible as Brahmah gets hurt while he can do nothing.

"Flat-Top! All three together and with Taric's spell, we could probably push them on the other side of the bridge! Flat-Top! Hey!"

Leets realize that nobody hears him, so he will instead mentally call for Managarm...

"Jump my dog! Jump! And help our leader!"

Doing so, he puts a hand on his own shoulder and back, showing Managarm that he can jump on him to jump over Brahmah.

Kanchana (Mage Armor AC 20, hasted?)  d8+3=6 d20+11=30
Wednesday October 8th, 2003 2:11:00 AM

Kanchana looks down at Vasch then over at Kenisha. "Yes Kenisha, I will do all that I can for Vasch. Do not kill Commander Miroband, if it can be avoided. He is honorable. And he...he saluted me? For showing respect to the man he lost. He needs to live to be sent to his Captain; Commander - whoever is in charge of him again, to be told to not meddle in Taur affairs. Humans, they don't seem to understand. But I think that now Commander Miroband might see that we are in the right. I think he sees that too much blood has been shed." Do you see what I say Kenisha?" Kanchana looks pleadingly at Kenisha, before looking straight at Brahmah and yelling very loudly "Captain! Brahmah! Don't kill Commander Miroband! Don't do it, please!!"
With her warnings and thoughts spoken Kanchana kneals down beside Vasch and touches him with her wand. Speakingly gently now Kanchana says "Vasch? You need to rest a little and then I can heal you s little more." As she talks to him she checks the numerous arrow wounds trying to see what she can do with them.

(Heals Vasch for 6 hp, Heal skill check 30)

Kenisha turns the care of Vasch over to Kanchana, who is better skilled in healing. With a few gestures and quick words, she lets loose with a lightning bolt towards Miroband that also clips archer(e).

Brahmah was momentarily stunned by the sudden barrage of attacks directed at him. Still he became a dervish of blades and all that anger was directed at the poor soldier before him.

Leets calls for Managarm to use him as a spring board to help Brahmah with the foes he faces. It is all he can do till he too can get across the bridge.

Kanchana pleads with both Kenisha and Brahmah to not kill Miroband as he is a good man doing his duty. She then turns he attention to Vasch so that she can check over his wounds. She is soon cleaning the arrow wounds as best she can, since some have been seared shut. She pumps a little healing into him as well.

Taric hops on his own disc and makes his way to the other side. He makes the necessary gestures and words to help out Brahmah in the srength arena.

Pah'caw rises off his masters shoulder and flies straight at the archer. He quickly circles his head, scratching at his face.

Managarm makes the leap from his master's back to Flat-top's back and then blinks out. He reappears behind the minotaur and makes a bite into his rear.

Flat-top tries to tell Leets that they need to protect the bridge. Then he feels something going off his back, but when he looks forward again he only sees the eagle clawing at the archer's face.

Miroband waits patiently as he sees the lightning bolt coming his way. He closes his eyes as the lightning rolls over him and he feels the full bite (reflex 11).

Soldier(g) slowly slumps to the ground, bleeding from a multitude of new wounds that appeared on his body.

Soldier(f) is dead.

Archer(d) blinks as a dog suddenly appears at the minotaurs back and then bites him. Cursing he pulls up his bow and fires two arrows at the dog (hit: 13/31, damage: 5/8).

Archer(e) swipes at the eagle as it flies around his head, then claws his face. Shortly after the eagle gains some height he feels the bite of electrictiy (reflex 13). He still is able to pull up his bow and fire off a pair of arrows, this time into the air at the pesky eagle (hit: 19/29, damage: 8/3).

The cleric makes it to the sorceress and shakes his head as he leans over her and checks her condition. From his expression you would guess that she was dead.

The sorceress is dead.

Elemental(b) is a pile of rock and gems.

Elemental(c) is a pile of rock and gems.

Minotaur(1) is dead.

Minotaur(2) takes his place to cut of Brahmah and is bit in the hind section for his trouble. Still he concentrates on stoping Brahmah more than the dog. His morningstar swings in at him with strength born of desperation (hit: 9/12, damage: 13/20).

[Sending out a new map later today.]

[Could the sheets for Managarm and Pah'caw be sent to Ceil so that she has their statistics to play them. Thanks.]

Kanchana interposes herself between Vasch and the enemy to try and shield him a little. As she is doing so she is yelling " No! Don't kill the Commander! Capture him!" She contintues to try to clean Vasch's arrow wounds (the ones not fused shut). She then cast her last CLW spell on Vasch. Kanchana leans slightly, yet protectively over Vasch. Doing so is as much to protect him while he heals as it is to keep him resting at least a little more.

Leets
Thursday October 9th, 2003 2:05:16 AM

Leets prays Domi as Brahmah stands alone to defend the bridge. He falls on his four knees, joining his hands.

"Holy Father Domi, one of your champions stands alone. Give him strength and courage, and lead his hand so that his blade strikes true."

"Bring light to the soul of our foes, so that no Taur falls dead in this unfair battle. Hear my voice and give us another victory, Holy Father, and we may change the Wold for the best!"

Flay-top
Thursday October 9th, 2003 6:50:44 AM

Flat-top prances in place, as he watches as the Captain fight the solder, two archers and two minotaur clerics. No one should go at it alone, and someone must defend those uniBabies.
Flat-top gets an idea, he knows that if the Soreceress is dead, then her spell is also gone. He'll jestures to Leets, as he speaks to him "(pointing to his ears)Listen! Leets (pointing to Brahmah, to himself, then to Leets)When Brahmah move enough, I'll get off the bridge and let You go.(pointing to himself again)I'll then get back on the bridge and protect the Babies."
Flat-top turns back and watches for an opening to let Leet off the bridge and into battle.

Brahmah tears into the minotaur, both of his weapons flashing in the light. He hears Kanchana's words but if he takes no time to acknowledge them.

Taric makes it across the water on his disc and then jumps off to the land. He sets himself for anyone that may draw close to him.

Kanchana continues to tend to Vasch as she yells to Brahmah again. She is determined to see Miroband as a captive and not as a casualty.

Leets drops to his knees and prays for Brahmah to receive the strength that he needs to finish this battle with no losses on thier side.

Much to Flat-tops surprise his voice comes out louder than what he had intended. Still he gets his message to Leets and that is all he wanted.

Pah'caw somehow stabilizes herself and lands at Kanchana's feet. The offending arrow still stuck in her body, she complains a little about it.

Managarm cannot believe that he was just shot by the archer or that the minotaur showed no reaction to his bite. With another growl he decides to give him another bite in the tender area.

Kenisha unable to get to the soldier ops to fires off some magic missiles at one of the two archers. Her missiles are straight and true as this spell always is.

Miroband shakes his head and then glancing around speaks, "Mailed Fist fall back to me and archers keep firing." He slowly loosens himself up as he sees the outcome of this battle. He curses the fool of a High Priest for his pride.

Soldier(g) takes a last gasp of breath and then settles into the arms of the eternal sleep.

Soldier(f) is dead.

Archer(d) is suddenly hit by a series of magic missiles which draws his attention to Kenisha. He smiles slowly as he pulls up his bow and takes a bead on her (hit: 20/17, damage: 4/4). After that he starts to back off from the fight.

Archer(e) as his arrow finds it's way into the eagle. He figures that will make the pesky thing think twice before doing anything like that again. He pull up his bow and draws a lock on the mage that just crossed the water (hit: 22/15, damage: 7/7). He will then begin to pull back with the other archer.

The cleric makes his way to Miroband and shakes his head. He drops the last of his powerful healing spells into him (26hp).

The sorceress is dead.

Elemental(b) is a pile of rock and gems.

Elemental(c) is a pile of rock and gems.

Minotaur(1) is dead.

Minotaur(2) smiles to Brahmah as he pulls back his morningstar to strike, even after all the strikes from earlier. Then he gets hit in the back again by the dog and he drops his morningstar. His eyes start to glaze over as he slumps to the ground.

[Sorry my yahoo was messing up for some reason. I will be sending that map shortly, with changes for this battle.]

"You're right Flat-Top, We cannot know what's their plan, I would also feel better if somebody like you stayed by the side of the babies. As for myself, I'll try to convince those fools to surrender, there were enough Taurs who fell today!"

Leets will let Flat-Top move backward (hoping that Kenisha will help too), and will come back behind Brahmah.

"Now Brahmah! We may have no other opportunity!"

Kanchana (Mage Armor AC 20, hasted)  d20+11=28 d20+2=9
Friday October 10th, 2003 2:06:19 AM

Kanchana smiles at Vasch, "feeling any better?"
Kanchana takes a look at Pah'caw, she speaks calmly to her; "friend of the skies, I will remove the arrow. It will hurt though so please don't bite me." Kanchana removes the arrow very carefully and tends to the wound. She didn't feel that she and Pah'caw were communicating well though.

Paw'caw (Ceil)
Friday October 10th, 2003 7:46:56 AM

Paw'caw laying at Kanchana, raises her head and with dying eyes, she puts her head into the weimic's hands. Her breathing is labored and in a very weak voice "Caaaaww!" can be heard.

Managram(Ceil)
Friday October 10th, 2003 7:56:49 AM

Managram is still holding on to the sensative spot of the minotaur Cleric, look up and see that Brahmah is about to hit him with that silver stick "BLINK" blinks out and reappers in back of Kanchana. Since Kanchana is more or less in a sitting with Paw'caw head in her hand. Managram pops his head over her back and barks at Brahmah *BARK< BARK* but will keep an eye on Leets.

Flat-top
Friday October 10th, 2003 8:07:30 AM

Since Brahmah moved in a little Flat-top moves off the bridge, makes enough room for Leets to get through. "Alright! here's your chance Leets, Good Luck and may Domi be with you". Flat-top retakes his post(on the log bridge) of not letting the enermy onto the Island, but to himself he thinks 'I wish I could go into battle with you, but the Unitaurs need protection.'

Vasch
Friday October 10th, 2003 1:12:53 PM

"Ohhhh...." Vasch says as his eyes begin to open. Blurred vision begins to clear as an image in his vision takes form. Seeing Kanchana kneeling over him tending to his wounds, "My angel..." He sits up and looks to the injured bird. "Don't worry little guy. This angel will fix you up."

Friday October 10th, 2003 3:55:30 PM

Kenisha goes to the fallen soldier now that she has the open room to do so. She finds that he is already beyond help.

Brahmah charges down on Miroband with noone in his way. His sword slices neatly into an open are of his armor. Brahmah smiles slightly as the blade bites into him.

Taric charges the archer that just shot him, while his shoulder burns with the pain. His shot is well aimed as he gets in close, catching the archer a good shot.

Leets slips off the bridge and tries to catch up to Brahmah. But finds himself left behind some.

Kanchana still holding Vasch to a point turns her attention to Pah'caw. Trying to be as gentle as she can she removes the arrow, receiving a nip from the eagle for her troubles (damage: 1), and then begins to tend the wound.

Pah'caw tries to keep still but the sudden pain of the arrow being removed is too much. She nips Kanchana's finger with what little strength she has.

Managarm blinks out just as Brahmah comes charging that way. He ends up behind Kanchana who is tending the eagle. His barking in her ear does not help and causes her to flinch when pulling out the arrow.

Flat-top, despite his want to get into the battle, stands guard over the bridge to protect the unitaurs.

Vasch comes too even more and looks up into the face of Kanchana as she tends to the eagle. His strength is slowly returning and he tries to calm the eagle some.

Miroband accepts the attacks from Brahmah and smiles as he returns his own set of attack (hit: 21/24, damage: 13/9). He then crushes the stone in his hand and drops it a few feet away from himself. "Mailed Fist...full retreat....FULL RETREAT!!"

Soldier(g) is dead.

Soldier(f) is dead.

Archer(d) sees the large minotaur go charging past him and swings on his heels to fire off a pair of arrows at his back (hit: 31/13, damage: 10/5). He also continues his retreat as after he fires off the arrows.

Archer(e) finds himself face-to-face with the very wizard that he had shot earlier. The decending weapon he is unable to avoid and takes the full blow. It staggers him and he slips to the ground.

The cleric with a last act of desperation uses a domain spell to heal up Miroband (24hp).

OOC: Not to knit-pick, but if that gem is what I think (elemental gem), then your actually unable to crush (standard action) and take two attacks (full action), even if Miroband is hasted. I might be wrong, you might have another thing going.

Wincing in serious pain at the arrows depth, Brahmah pauses, if only for a second.

He attacks, trying to take out Miroband before the gem transports him (such is Brahmahs thought).
He turns, and with a very serious glare, he speaks to the cleric.
"If you truly worship Domi or any other known deity, you might want to LEAVE and prepare the way for your commander!" He snarls at the cleric. "Honor will be served if you go now. You have my blessing!" He quirks a lip, almost snickering.
(OOC: Really, Brahmah wasn't initially out to kill Miroband until he decided to be a coward and not join the battle, ording his subordinates to their death. No Honor.)

A bit slower this time, Brahmah presses on. Blades tumble and hiss in the air around him.

"Flat-top, Leets! I need you. Taric, anything you have that might help would be greatly appreciated!"

((Hitting AC's 22, 30(crit on 23?kukri), 20 and 23/ for 13, 7(14 if crit), 14 and 10 damage[w/human enemy damage included], total 44 damage, 51 if crit))

Kanchana (Mage Armor AC 20, hasted, 33 of 34 hp)  d8+3=5
Sunday October 12th, 2003 6:23:15 AM

Kanchana touches her healing wand to Pah'caw and hopes it will help the eagle as well as it has The Chosen. Kanchana insinctively braces herself as she feels the tremor. She looks around trying to figure out where it originated from. Absently; and with a touch of worry in her voice, she asks Vasch, "do you have any healing potions left? I think we are not yet free of the burden of battle."

Sunday October 12th, 2003 11:43:06 PM

Kenisha shakes her head sadly that yet another one has died in this senseless battle. She moves back to defend the bridge.

If it looks like the are all really in a full retreat and not just regrouping to attack again, Kenisha will not attack. But if it does look like they are going to attack again, she'll fire off a magic missile at Miroband (11 HP of damage).

Enter the Mailed Fist, part 17. (DM Jim)  d20+13=27 2d8(1+4)+7=12
Monday October 13th, 2003 5:43:35 PM

Brahmah gives the cleric an ultimatum that he quickly see is going to be ignored. It also becomes apparent that Miroband is going to get away...and settle some business of his own.

Kanchana continues to work on Pah'caw and looks to Vasch asking him if he is out of healing potions, that he may need one.

Vasch lets Kanchana know that he thinks he has one and digs a flask out of his pack.

Kenisha watches as first Miroband, the cleric and one of the archers blink out. It seems that they do not intend to fight, but the elemental erupting from the ground gives her pause.

Leets orders/pleads for the Mailed Fist to surrender for thier own good. His request goes unheard as they all start blinking out, the live ones anyways.

Taric finds the archer still breathing and easily takes his bow and arrows. It is totally apparent what is happening as the elemental rises from the ground.

Flat-top races off the bridge towards the mercenaries and finds them to have blinked out on him and now further away.

Miroband gets his shield in the way to stop all but one of Brahmah's attacks and the one that got through was not a viscious wound at all. Miroband salutes The Chosen as the ground erupts behind Brahmah to reveal a large earth elemental. "My superiors were wrong and for that they must be held accountable...to do that I must survive." With a last look at Brahmah he shakes his head sadly. "Care for my fallen men as they fought bravely" With a glance to the elemental he nods. "Cover our retreat and buy my remaining men some time". With that he appears to wink out of exhistance.

Soldier(g) is dead.

Soldier(f) is dead.

Archer(d) with a slight thought he winks out for a bit and reappears some twenty feet away.

Archer(e) lays on the ground a large puddle of blood forming around him.

The cleric gasps as Miroband speaks. "Sir you cannot mean that...you would join traitor with these renegades" His eyes flash with hatred as Miroband winks out. The cleric turns on Brahmah and sneers. "He maybe weak but I am not." He pulls out his own gem, crushing it and letting it drop at his feet. He then winks out himself, laughing all the time as he does, reappearing twenty feet further back as well.

The sorceress is dead.

Elemental(b) is a pile of rock and gems.

Elemental(c) is a pile of rock and gems.

Minotaur(1) is dead.

Minotaur(2) is dead.

The ground erupts as a large elemental forces it's way out of the ground. It turns on The Chosen as Miroband gives it orders. With a rumbling growl, that sounds like tons of large rocks grating against each other, it moves towards Brahmah attempting to flatten him with it's large body (hit: 27, damage: 12).

Another spot near the ground starts to rumble, but this time there is an appearance of heat mixed in.

Vasch (8/32)  d8+1=4

"For Domi!" shouts Taric, knowing he won't be able to hold the elemental at bay, but every second would be a second won.

Exit the Mailed Fist, part 1. (DM Jim)
Tuesday October 14th, 2003 1:48:23 PM

Vasch downs his potion and weakly stands. He shouts about keeping the elemental distracted so that Brahmah can get away.

Brahmah makes a full retreat away from the elemental and finds himself at the waters edge. He backs into it a little and waits for what, he is not sure.

Kenisha warns of a fire elemental that could appear next and then fires off a barrage of magic missiles at the earth elemental.

Taric tries to give Flat-top the quiver and bow, but finds that he is already consumed with fighting. Taric places himself between the earth elemental and Brahmah, not sure if it is a foolish or brave act.

Leets makes a warcry to Domi and then charges the earth elemental. His morningstar glances off the things hide doing no damage.

Flat-top also moves in on the earth elemental to slow it's progress. He swings his morningstar twice at the thing and then rears up to hit it with hooves. Most of his attacks hit, but one glances off the rocky exterior harmlessly.

Pah'caw complains a weakly as she wants to get to her master, he needs her. She weakly looks to Kanchana who suddenly gives her another burst of healing. This time Pah'caw is completely calm, no biting.

Managarm barks several times in warning to his master and then blinks out to reappear near his master. He runs around the earth elemental till it sinks into the ground.

Kanchana lets Vasch know that he should wait on that potion. She heals Pah'caw with her wand again and then turns to dig in her pack. She pulls out a seal and activates it.

Kanchana moves to the base of the bridge (on the island side). She carries Pah'caw with her, and still has her wand in hand. She looks at the two elementals her mouth agape.
Kanchana looks miserable as she prays to Mother Wold and Father Tomi to keep the children and the Chosen as safe as can be.(Wis. 23) "Maybe we need to go into the water or retreat to the island and remove the bridge? Oh Mother? What wrong have we done to deserve this?!"

I can only do one of you at a time so don't all come rushing at once okay? Leet's first then Brahmah." Kenisha calls out from the bridge before hitting the fire elemental with some magic missiles (10 HP of damage)

(OOC for everyone. Starting next round, Kenisha will cast Resist Energy on those who want it, starting with Leets, which gives you in this case fire resistance 10 for 10 minutes.)

Wednesday October 15th, 2003 4:23:48 PM

Brahmah retreats further into the water and pulling his clw wand, taps himself for a little healing.

Kanchana carries Pah'caw with her as she makes her way to the bridge, on the island side. She ponders how best to protect them from the elementals, but can only come up with somehow cutting them off from getting to the island. Still she know that will not stop the earth elemental who will just go under the ground.

Taric keeps his protection over Brahmah going as he backs up with him. He has a bad feeling about he earth elemental disappearing under the ground, but what can he do.

Leets tears into the fire elemental as it seems to glide over the ground towards the bridge. His first attack finds a spot on the elementals fiery body, but the next finds only heat and fire this time.

Kenisha comments about the fire elementals ability to hurt you in combat and for the fighters to pull back for fire protection. Till then she fires off a set of magic missiles at the elemental.

Pah'caw struggles to get out of Kanchana's hands and finally succeeds. After several tests of it's wings it finally takes off and lands on it's masters shoulder.

Managarm looks to his master for guidance in how to help with this monster. With no signs forthcoming he turns and starts tossing dirt on it, with his back paws. The attack seems to do nothing to the elemental and it even ignores him.

Flat-top swings his own morningstar at the fire elemental, trying to help Leets fight it off. His first attack hits solidly, but not with enough to give the idea a really good blow was struck. With a rearing motion he brings his front feet into the elemental with some force, hitting it squarely.

Vasch is able to get his bow and prepare for some missile fire at whatever target appears.

The large earth elemental's arms shot up from the ground to grasp at Taric's legs (grapple check: 29).

A large fire elemental slams its fiery body at Flat-top with a joyful crackle of laughter (hit: 23/29, damage: 9/10 , fire: 9/11). It seems to take great delight as sparks fly from it's body in all directions (Flat-top - reflex save DC 17 or catch on fire for 2 rounds unless it is put out).

"Managarm, attack! You fear nothing from this thing!"

"Ok...If we can strike it, we can touch it...It looks like you took the wrong direction you fiery thing..."

Ragingly throwing all his weight against the elemental, Leets will try to push it in the water (once again falling with it if needed...Attack 17, 12 for the strength check, 20 rerolled with a hero point).

Taric (grappled)  d20+8=21

Thursday October 16th, 2003 2:50:40 PM

Noone moves to take up Kenisha on her offer of fire resistance. With a shake of her head she fires off some missiles at the fire elemental.

Brahmah stays in the water for the time being and casts a spell on himself and shares it with Pah'caw. Both of their skins take on a barky texture to a point.

Leets slams himself into the fire elemental with everything he can muster. Unfortunately he catches it a glancing blow that leaves him overbalanced (Leets - reflex save DC 17 or catch on fire for 3 rounds unless it is put out).

Taric finds himself with the earth elemental holding onto his upper legs. The grip is slightly painful but not crushing or anything. He tries to break free and ends up just being able to hold on for himself.

Flat-top slams into the fire elemental shortly after Leets makes his attempt. While Leets finds himself glancing off, Flat-top gets a good solid hit and drives the fire elemental back (Flat-top - reflex save DC 17 or catch on fire for 2 rounds unless it is put out).

Pah'caw awaits orders from her master as she looks around from his shoulder.

Managarm blinks out of the area that he is at after looking to the large fire thingy. It blinks back in to bite at the things leg and then blinks away again (Managarm - reflex save DC 17 or catch on fire for 2 rounds unless it is put out).

Kanchana watches, miserably, as the earth elemental grabs a hold of Taric by the legs. She can see what is going to happen next without a doubt. She fires off a set of magic missiles at the things arms to try and get it to let go.

The large earth elemental slow starts to pull Taric under the ground, while keeping a hold on him (grapple check: 34). He has pulled Taric to just a little above his knees.

A large fire elemental continue its assault on Flat-top as he rams into him a pushes him back some (hit: 7/20, damage: 7/5 , fire: 10/12). The flames leap around it's body in anger as it turns to regard Leets and then Flat-top.

Thursday October 16th, 2003 6:41:05 PM

Paw'caw twises her head almost as if she knows what Brahmah. Then with out hesitation, she jumps into the air and flap her wings, trying to catch a draft. She goes up and up, higher up to about 60 feet.
She spots the enermy that hurt her master, she dives silently and attacks the archer that is bleeding with her tallons, swoop up almost as fast as she came down. She will fly to the island and into a tree.

OOC: attack ac24, Damage 4hp??

Flat-top
Thursday October 16th, 2003 6:53:20 PM

After the charge, Flat-top is hurting, he knows that he cannot fight him on land. Water or ice is that monster only enermy. So Flat-top (taking to moment that this monster is slitly off ballance) will jump into the water to cool his wounds, then come up for air, "Leets!" He shout at the Paladin,"get in the water! we can try to get him when he tries to cross the bridge, If we can hold him up long enough. He'll burn his way through the wood and fall into the water."
Flat-top swims toward the island.

Kenisha (Mage Armor, AC 22)
Thursday October 16th, 2003 11:42:05 PM

Kenisha rolls her eyes as the fighters of the group ignore her offer of magic aid against this fiery opponent.

She will move within touching distance of one of them (provided she's not also within the fire elemental's threat range) and cast Resist Energy (fire) on them.

(ooc- Since I'm not sure anymore who'd be closest to her, I'll leave that up to you, Jim.)

Brahmah
Friday October 17th, 2003 12:43:50 AM

Kanchana slides her wand back into its forearm sheath, and will draw her scimitar as soon as she can.

Elemental Charge, part 3. (DM Jim)  d6=4 d20+17=31
Friday October 17th, 2003 3:19:38 PM

Vasch fires off an arrow at the fire elemental fut finds it flying into the water instead. He can still feel the weakness in his muscles and tries to shake it off.

Brahmah gives Pah'caw orders to get herself into the tree and be safe. He hits himself for a little healing that transfers part over to her before she leaves.

Pah'caw takes off of his shoulder with a bit of defiance. She makes a swoop at the archer that is still bleeding with her talons before coming to settle on a branch in the tree.

Flat-top moves back into the water to get away from the fire elemental. He swims across the water and to the other side of the island.

Kenisha is able able to reach Brahmah with her resistance spell as she steps up beside him. Unfortunately for him she hits him a little harder than he would have expected.

Leets jumps into the water of the river to extinguish the fire that has sprung up on him (damage: 4).

Taric tries to break free from the elementals grasp, but cannot break the stony grip. He can feel desperation starting to grip his heart and throat.

Managarm finds himself standing in water, or dog paddleing, as the water is that high around him. Especially as he blinks to be by his master.

Kanchana races to get to Taric and help him out. She makes it to the other side of the bridge and around the corner to stand by Taric.

The large earth elemental pulls Taric into the ground a little bit further (grapple check: 31). He has now pulled Taric up to his chest into the ground, a little further and he will disappear.

The large fire elemental makes his way to the bridge and then stops to look in Kanchana's direction. It's fiery eyes flash and sparkle with amusement as it tries to come to a decision. Within a few seconds it starts to move in her direction.
