As Orson steps into the depression the sand around his foot starts spitting upward as the pincer-like mouth of the giant antlion grabs his ankle (AC 26) and causes Orson a great deal of pain (13 points).
Olanna throws a rope to the hurting Orson (Dex DC 12 to catch hold)and if he catches it gives a heave.
Bertram rips the seal from his chest and activating it causes all of the mantises and the antlion to shriek momentarily as they are struck with magical pain and damage.
Following closely behind, Figment's blast of ice washes over the mantises causing more damage to them.
After the mages' magics Lian strikes out at Mantis #1 connecting solidly.
Milo also hits #1 solidly and the beast falls.
K'nara attacks #2 and connects with her second attack.
Ingrge swings his staff at #4 and connects solidly.
If you make any movement in the area during your combat, you must make a dex roll of DC 12 to avoid stepping into any of the antlion pits.
Opponent ACs are AC18

With near unbelievable speed and grace, #2 lashes out at K'nara connecting with two of its four claws and missing with its oversized jaws (AC 24, AC25) for 10 and 9 points)
While Olanna is busy trying to pull Orson out of the pit Mantis #3 comes calling lashing out and connecting with three claws and a bite for 31 points of damage. after being bitten Olanna feels something evil start to course through her blood stream. Fortitude DC 15 or be paralyzed.
# 4 faces off with Ingrge and lashes out with all 4 claws and beak. and gets snagged by three claws. (15 points)
#5 is working its way through the trees to get to Figment and #6 finishes his gory snack and heads around seemingly to face Bertram.
The antlion has hold of Orson's ankle and is trying its best to pull him down furhter into the sand. Strength roll 19 to break free.

Seeing the manti quickly dealt with by his companions, he merely waits, walking lightly on his injured foot. He gives another thanks to Bertrem when healed, his injured nearly fully healed.
"What about the trail, did they get past all this?" Orson wonders, glancing to Olana for an answer. It was odd if they got past without trouble, yet the threats where there for the Talons to deal with.

After dealing with the beasties and healing Olanna is fairly easily able to pick up and follow the tracks left by the thief and his cohorts. A bit further down the path you find pieces of bloody mail and a mace thrown up along the side of a conical depression and a bit futher down you find the partial remains of a human torso with alot of torn up path.
After about another hour you arrive at the outskirts of a recently attacked village, where they find smoldering huts and several villagers, dead, injured and alive, bemoaning a group of humans that just came through and tortured and killed several of their citizens.
When asked they will describe the culprits right down to the heart filled hand symbols on their tabards and shields. The Talons are also told that they were chased out of town by a floating ball that attacked them and that they are still fighting near the opposite edge of the village. In fact if you listen closely enough you can hear the conflict.
As the Talons hury through the town, they arrive to find a battle in progress between the HOL and a beholder. It is hard to say who is winning at this moment.
Milo Tuesday September 30th, 2003 12:48:00 AM

Figment Tuesday September 30th, 2003 11:03:41 PM
The mage smiles as the HOL are being slaughtered - hopefully - by the beholder. He reviews his spells to determine which one would do best against such a beast and which one would do best against the HOL should they survive. Also, he turns invisible and scopes the area for possible HOL members hiding or broken away from the combat. "I would suggest we not attack and make sure there are no HOL hiding around the area...".
Olana Wednesday October 1st, 2003 1:53:08 AM
Olana bites her lip, watching the fight. She hated beholders. There were a lot of scary tales told to elven children about beholders and their like, and right now the idea of just sitting tight and watching suited her just fine.
Mind you, she thinks to herself - what if the creature destroyed or damaged what the Hands of Love had stolen? She voices this concern to their leader.
DM Kent Wednesday October 1st, 2003 8:04:40 AM
It is clear that the conflict has been going on for some time as there are 2 HOL members down and one standing frozen. Of the other 7, none are unwounded, but the Beholder is also showing signs of some major abuse, as there are several eyestalks missing and the beast has several arrows sticking in it and is bleeding profusely. The remaining HOL members have the beast completely surrounded and are peppering it with spells, arows and the occasional melee blow. Meanwhile the beholder is letting many of its eye stalks do its job and beems of energies and the such arc out often touching a HOL member. The beholder seems to be keeping his main eye facing one HOL member in particular.
K'Nara Wednesday October 1st, 2003 8:59:19 AM
The leader of the Emerald Talons eyed the particular person that the eye was apparently focusing upon.
"I would think our target of choice will be that one..." she said, nodding towards the individual, "...that beholder seems to be making a point of keeping most of its spell effects on that one..."
Brother Bertram (Back! Thanks Jay) Wednesday October 1st, 2003 5:50:56 PM

Not seeing any "non-engaged" HOL, the mage cautions the Talon leader. "I would recommend we wait a bit before making any attacks on anyone. If we take out the leader now it may sway the battle too far to that abominations side. I'd prefer to fight a much weakened beholder or a powerful foe unable to recover from his paralysis in time to defend himself over a stronger beholder. Lets let the thing falter before we attack the HOL. I'd say we prepare to take out the frozen leader if the the beholder falters but be in a position to attack the beholder if the HOL goes down.". The mage readies a spell...

As you all watch the spectacle, you can hear in the not to distance the sounds of other things that are in the woods. There was one cry that was somewhere between an lion's roar and the screech of an eagle and from another area the sound of what could have come from a 2000 poud bull frog. In the distance there can be seen a group of flying things that could possibly heading toward this area.
The Beholder now seems to be getting the far worse of the combat and is not likely to make it past the next few minutes of the current combat.

Since she never sheathed her sword, K'Nara whirled Lucia experimently, her mind's eye filled with the sight of a luckless lad with elven blood left in an alley.
"Get 'em all--NOW..." the leader of the Talons said, charging forward herself, "...but try not to kill that mage...we need ONE of them alive...Lucia!" The trademark flame of the magic weapon sprang into life as the human bladesinger slashed artfully at the closest standing HOL party member...

He turns and lets F6 know what he thinks. He begins charging the archer, stowing his bow as he moves. He strikes out, trying to clip the man with his fast feet(probably missing with a 17).
Charging F6 hitting AC 17, for 5 damage. Dodge AC vs F6 is 23 on the Charge.

Orson slides his heels together a brief moment, activating the magic of his boots again. "Out of my way!" he growls at the man before him (F2), covering the short distance between them in a single bound.
Giving a half hearted attack with his left blade, Orson spins, attempting to sweep the man off his feet. If successful, he slides his left blade behind the mans weapon as he falls, bracing it as his right blade slashes down, metal striking metal.
Orson continues his assualt, swords lashing out multiple times at the man, whether standing or on the ground, attempting to remove the obstical to the mage he intends to take down.

Wincing from the pain, Olana swings her shortbow toward F5 and is about to fire as suddenly one of the Beholder's eye beams sweeps her way. ((Re-rolled Fort on Hero Point - DC 21 saves - phew!))
For a moment, a horrible feeling passes over her, making her feel like passing out, as though something is trying to tug at her soul. She bites her lip, and focuses on her target - that (insert elven swearword here) archer!!! Yes! Go get him, she whispers, letting fly the metal tipped narrow shafts. Orson also walks into the direct path of Figment's second bolt of lightening (taking 49 points Reflex dc 19 for half damage.)
Figment's spell goes off without a hitch until he sees Orson darting in the way. He watches with semi horror and satisfaction as his three targets drop to the ground.
Lian shudders and then strikes out at F6 causing the HOL member to wince in great pain.
Olanna fights off her ray and then gets ready to send a few arrows F5's way when she sees him drop due to Figment's spell. With extreme precision she takes extra time and sends two arrows weaving through K'nara and Lian to strike F6 and drops him to the ground.
K'nara rips into F4 and connects with her first blow.

OOC: I think Figment would have a chance to adjust the trajectory at the last moment or some such to make sure a directional spell would not hit one of his own - or at least be intelligent enough to see where Orson stopped and make sure he wasn't in the line of fire. If Olana can decide to shoot another target surely Figment could manage to not hit a charging fighter...
The mage reels at the information that assaults his senses: A retreating foe, an energized beholder, and a comrade down. Using all his wits he decideson his next course of action. He turns and blasts the beholder with another cone of frigid air (Cone of Cold - 48 DMG) and then gives chase to the fleeing "H". He doesn't close completely but gets as near as he can without being detected - which shouldn't be too hard with all the commotion.

A small tear trickles down the elf's face, as he sits there.
Figment (Improved Invis) Tuesday October 14th, 2003 12:11:45 PM
The mage casts Detect Magic and looks at the HOL member. He scans the area around him for the invisible magical barrier. "I am betting that my hole lasts longer than your shell. And when it drops I'm going to kill you - unless I see a reason not to and unless the others haven't already done so with more conventional means. Can you think of any reason I shouldn't?".
K'Nara Tuesday October 14th, 2003 1:45:07 PM
The red-headed bladesinger kneeled by Orson, turning somber hazel eyes towasrds Brother Bertram.
"Is there nothing you can do for him..?" she asked, frowning.
Brother Bertram Tuesday October 14th, 2003 5:25:25 PM
Bertram turns suddenly upon K'nara with grief-stricken eyes. "What would you have me do!? I have no power of my own that will cause Gargul to return Orson's spirit unto us. This is beyond me as the little girl was beyond me! Don't you see!? I have no power of my own to combat this!" Bertram turns away, his grief and frustration evident. He gazes for a moment upon the hand that Gargul had marked as his own. He murmurs to himself quietly. "Do I even dare to ask..." He sits there lost in his thoughts, then his decision is made. Squaring his shoulders he turns back to K'nara. Forgive me Friend K'nara. In my pain and fear, I failed you. While it is true I can not bring Orson's spirit back on my own, there are ways to preserve him in such a way that when we find the means, Orson will be able to be revived. If Gargul can be convinced. This also is something that must be borne and I accept that. I will save his body, so that we may hope to save his soul. Bertram lays his hands upon the heart and forehead of Orson and prays over the body. He then relaxes and murmurs, "It is done."

The Talons watch as Bertram casts his spell on their fallen companion.
While over at the the create-a-pit the Hand doesn't look too worried for some reason. He lloks up at Figment and again smiles.
"Can I think of a reason for you not to kill me? ... Several actually but probably only one that will make any difference to you. And that reason of course is lying till on the ground being ministered to by your cleric if i am not mistaken. I guess I would say that I would trade a life for a life." You let me go on my own way. And I will ensure that your friend gets another chance at life. Oh and I will even give you what we stole from you." I think that sounds fair, Don't you?
Milo Tuesday October 14th, 2003 11:16:10 PM
"To be honest... his life is worth a great deal more than yours... so if you have the power to give it back... and you'll return what you've stolen... I don't see a problem. Fall back on your word and you had better never go to sleep again as long as you live." Milo's look is DEAD serious. Milo then looks up at Ingrge for confirmation on this statement.
Lian Wednesday October 15th, 2003 12:42:30 AM
Wiping his face, the monk stands and approaches Milo. No more emotion fills the monks demeanor. He walks to Milo like the axeman to an execution. Leaning in to speak with the Justicar, "I'd rather just kill him and be done with the mess. We don't need his help." The elf's eyes are dark and emotionless as he looks at the HOL sitting, safely or so HE thinks, in his little burrow. "Orsen's life is.... was more important than this wretched thing!" "Kill him. Deep levels of pain." "Hands of Love... my elven arse." A chilling change has come over the previously level headed monk.
K'Nara Wednesday October 15th, 2003 4:18:08 PM
"Brother Bertram," K'Nara told the cleric, "If there is a price to pay, then I will pay it--I am the leader of the Talons and, as such, ultimately responsible for those in the group. I thank you for what you can do." The tall female fighter stood and went over to the pit, her hazel eyes narrowing as she looked down upon the captive there.
"I heard the deal you were trying to make with my people," she said sharply, "And I am angered enough to consider letting them promise you your life and freedom for what you offer in exchange--and then taking it upon myself to run you through the very first chance I get. However, one should be bound by the actions of the group one is affiliated with, don't you agree..? If you do, then I would be bound by the group's decision to allow your offer for the life of one of our own..."
Brother Bertram Wednesday October 15th, 2003 8:16:55 PM
Bertram turns back to Orson and kneels and begins praying over Orson's body. He directs the prayers to Gargul rather than Domi due to the nature of his plea. Bertram prays for Gargul to grant him wisdom to deal with the situation and the strength to endure and also a prayer for Orson, that his spirit not fade beyond the party's reach forever.
Ingrge Wednesday October 15th, 2003 9:30:39 PM
Catching Milo's eye after he states his case, Ingrge nods and looks down at the HOL.
"I am of half a mind for fry you where you stand and take our chances trying to bring back our friend. I'm not sure he would appreciate our letting you go free just to bring him back. That is however no my decision to make. So for now I will let you live and if you follow through with what you say then I will let you part. Though if we should ever meet again....."
Olana Wednesday October 15th, 2003 10:03:46 PM
"What can he do?" asks the elf, with regard to the HOL person. "Can he resurrect? is that what he's saying?"
She's still pottering around looking for stretcher materials. "You know we have to put emotions aside and be practical here," she adds. "This is a weird place we're in and Orson's a big guy to carry around. We can't leave him. Things might start to eat him..."
She wrinkles her nose at that horrible prospect.

"Yes, you do seem to have only half a mind, but I won't hold that against you. though it does make me think a bit about the intllligence of you companions to take along so many subhumans."
Looking directly at K'nara and leering he continues.
"So little woman, do we have a deal? or shall we blow up this little are of the world as we try to destroy each other?"
Figment (Improved Invis, Detect Magic) Wednesday October 15th, 2003 10:39:50 PM
The disembodied voice of the mage continues the parlay. "Your offer is most expedient but not our only option for our friend. Sounds like there may yet be some discussion on this issue of killing you - but I would say the first part will be that you immediately drop your protection spells and disarm. If we decide to take you out you will die armed or not. But if you disarm we might consider that a gesture of good faith. Second, the trade of your life for our comrade would involve this one situation. If we meet in the future, whatever happens now will have no bearing at all as to what happens then. Thirdly, if you fail in your attempt, you die - period. And finally, we will not protect you in this hostile environment. You are on your own once our business is complete. You will also not attempt to track or follow us, and you will accept these terms now - or not. And if you don't accept, I will open fire without hesitation...". The mage continues to scan the man for magic to see if he drops his protection spell - and any other nasty he has detected (Detect Magic).
Lian Wednesday October 15th, 2003 11:32:16 PM
"Ingrge, stop talking to him. Just finish it!" The monk says coldly.
Milo Thursday October 16th, 2003 9:19:37 AM
As the man sneers the word subhuman, Milo's eyes narrow, and the halfling's grip on his short sword tightens. Looking down, Milo judges the distance to the bottom, and then looks at the man, "You may put up resistance, but let me assure you, the conflict will be short and sweet. I can see your weak spots from here."
Brother Bertram Thursday October 16th, 2003 5:34:07 PM
Bertram hears the bickering and jerks woodenly to his feet. He moves over to the group tiredly. "Let him go. He is the only chance we have of bringing Orson back right away and he knows it. And for that matter so do we. Just release him and let us see what may be done for Orson." Bertram turns and moves back to the warrior's lifeless shell and goes back to praying to Gargul.
Figment (Improved Invis, Detect Magic) Thursday October 16th, 2003 10:40:19 PM
The mage chuckles at the comments. "You fool, you should be more concerned about those who can take you out where you stand. Accept or die - right now...". The mage prepares to cast.
Olana Thursday October 16th, 2003 11:57:36 PM
The elf sighs.
"Don't let him bait you, lets just get what we need. "Could be, he's bluffing anyway."
K'Nara Friday October 17th, 2003 4:28:53 PM
"My instinct is to fight you to the last breath, you walking dungheap," K'Nara replied, "But I will repeat what I told you before: one should be bound by the actions of the group one is affiliated with, don't you agree..? If you do, then I would be bound by the group's initial decision to allow your offer for the life of one of our own..." She squatted on her heels, coldly regarding the prisoner.
"It is up to you now--if you agree, then we'll allow you to make good on your word. If you don't agree, then there were several creatures nearby who would doubtless find you a tasty change to their usual diet."
DM Kent Sunday October 19th, 2003 3:02:44 PM
As K'nara once again speaks, the man obviously makes a decision for Figment and Ingrge feel his defensive shield drop. He also drops his weapons on the ground, in the hole, at his feet.
" Ok Now who is going to help me out of here, so I can keep my side of this bargain.
K'Nara Monday October 20th, 2003 1:51:39 PM
Immediately K'Nara sheathed Lucia and extended a hand down.
"Quickly now--there's no time to waste." she said brusquely, "I will take on whatever responsibility that Gargul demands of me in order to return Orson to our midst."
Olana d20+13=14 Monday October 20th, 2003 3:10:43 PM
Olana steps back a little ways to allow room for the HOL man. Figuring the others eyes will be watching him, she keeps her own eyes out for any marauding giant insects or any other thing that looks dangerous. ((Spot DC 13 - ack))
Figment (Improved Invis, Detect Magic) Monday October 20th, 2003 8:27:25 PM
The mage allows the cleric to be pulled out and does not offer to release the hole. "I think you are forgetting the object you stole. We see it immediately as well - before you take your case before Gargul...". He watches the man for any deviation from his committment.
Brother Bertram Monday October 20th, 2003 8:36:02 PM
Bertram continues praying over Orson, wishing the others would hurry.
Lian Monday October 20th, 2003 11:18:42 PM
Lian draws his bow and trains it on the HOL's head as he's let out of the hole. "Do it and be done!" Snarls the monk.
Milo Monday October 20th, 2003 11:41:51 PM
Milo moves to Olana's side, and rests his short sword upon his shoulder. He is relaxed, though wary. Looking up at Olana he smiles and winks, crossing his eyes.
Ingrge Tuesday October 21st, 2003 6:13:40 PM
Stepping out of the way as the HOL is helped out of the hole, ingrge then moves away out of any direct line of fire so that if something does happen both mages are not in the thick of it, and then he watches.
DM kent Tuesday October 21st, 2003 6:24:48 PM
Once the HOL is out of the pit, he brushes himself off and slowly reaches into a pouch at his front an takes out a small ORB and casually tosses at Figment's feet.
"There that's one thing out of the way." Now, If you will allow me to open my backpack to retrieve something, without you all blasting me to nothingness, I will complete our transaction."
Looking around to see if he is to be allowed to do this, he waits for a moment then proceeds. Slowly and with exagerated movements he removes, opens and digs around in his pack and slowly brings forth a wand, which he then tosses at K'nara's feet.
"There that now takes care of my part of the bargain. That is a wand or ressurection and it has a few charges let on it. Now, if you don't mind, I will be going now. That was after all our deal."
Lian Tuesday October 21st, 2003 7:03:30 PM
Lian targets the HOL with his bow.
"Now, SIR, if you would be so kind... let us TEST this wand to find out if it's what you say it is! Excuse me if I don't trust you! No hard feelings, you understand."
The monk motions to the HOL with the arrow to sit out of reach of anyone. "Bertram, is the wand what he claims?!"
K'Nara Tuesday October 21st, 2003 7:43:32 PM
K'Nara picked up the wand and handed it to whomever could possibly Identify the item.
"Fine. A life for a life, should this wand turn out to be what you claim..." the tall human bladesinger said, then drew her big bastard sword once more and put the point under the evil man's chin. "...now...you only owe us one more life--the life of the boy your group murdered in the alley in Emerald City. What do you have in payment for that, sir..? Another life? Hmmm...???"
Lian Tuesday October 21st, 2003 8:30:25 PM
"Yes, the boy!" Arrow twitching at the HOL.
(BTW, Lian has a readied action to fire if the HOL moves from his spot.)
Brother Bertram Tuesday October 21st, 2003 8:30:48 PM
Bertram rises suddenly and steps in front of the point of K'nara's sword. "Friend K'nara, If the rod does as he claims, then this creature goes free. If we do not honor our word in this, how are we better than those we oppose? I would like nothing better than to see him at the end of my axe, but we must forbear. I do not mean to offend but I will not allow him to die at your hand." Bertram stands resolutely and waits to see the outcome of his words.
Figment (Improved Invisiblity , Detect Magic) d20+22=35 d20+22=31 d20+22=34 d20+22=41 Tuesday October 21st, 2003 10:01:17 PM
The mage first scans the item (detect magic) at his feet and looks it over to make sure it fits the description of the item that was stolen. He examines it with his Knowledge of Arcana and Spellcraft for any clues it might reveal (35 Arcana, 31 Spellcraft). He then looks over the wand in the same manner (34 Arcana, 41 Spellcraft). As the group confronts the HOL, he agrees with the good cleric. "It is true, we must abide by our word. If the wand has more than one charge and is what he says it is then he has, in fact, traded for more than one life. We also did not mention the boy in our original agreement. I do expect, however, that we will search his belongings for anything else he may have stolen or that might be of value to us. We did not agree to leave his items untouched - just to spare his life...". Turning to their captive he continues. "We did not agree, sir, to spare your life in return for the POTENTIAL to reclaim our friend. He must be raised before you depart. Unless, there is anything else you might offer us...". The mage leaves the question open ended in hopes he can exptract anything else of value from this scum.
Milo Wednesday October 22nd, 2003 12:06:56 AM
"Figment is right... in performing the act... one must deal with Gargul. You should be doing that deal as well." The halfling stands by, watching the proceedings.
Olana Wednesday October 22nd, 2003 6:29:39 PM
Scanning the surroundings, Olana comes across Milo with his eyes crossed, and she breaks into a grin. What had happened recently was no laughing matter whatsoever - this place was turning her nerves to glass, and her heart to stone, or it would if not for the warmth she felt for Milo.
Still, this matter wasn't over yet. Poor Orson was still lying dead. Hopefully this horrible man could do something.
She stays on watch.
Brother Bertram Wednesday October 22nd, 2003 7:42:51 PM
Bertram speaks up suddenly; "No my friends. It is not right that one of this ilk petitions for our friend's life. I will do this and take the repercussions upon my head. I do this because it is my place and I will not shirk this duty because it is convenient."
Brother Bertram Wednesday October 22nd, 2003 7:46:45 PM
Bertram speaks up suddenly; "No my friends. It is not right that one of this ilk petitions for our friend's life. I will do this and take the repercussions upon my head. I do this because it is my place and I will not shirk this duty because it is convenient."
Lian Wednesday October 22nd, 2003 7:58:10 PM
The monk stands there, bow raised and ready for anything. (Readying to fire at the HOL if he does anything offensive or tries to escape.)
DM Kent Wednesday October 22nd, 2003 7:59:26 PM
Figment takes a look at the Orb and can tell it seems to be some sort of locational device.
Between Figment, Ingrge and Bertram the wand is definitely identified as a wand of ressurection.
The HOL looks truly suprised as K'nara draws her sword and lays it at his throat. After that brief moment of suprised fear, he turns his head just slightly so he is facing her and without a quiver in his voice plainly says.
"And here I thought Bladesingers were supposed to be honorable poeple. What would Greymaulkin say to this fit of picque?"
"As for the bargain I made with you. I stated that I would provide you with the means to provide your friend with another chance at Life, Not that I would bring him back to life myself. Besides, I doubt that Gargul would take my petition to raise an enemy from death very seriously."
"As for my staying around until your friend is back... why that hardly seems equitable. I have no control over whether Gargul will let him come back or even whether your friend will want to come back. I have held up my end of the bargain, and now you must do what you must. However I warn you that should you break our agreement and kill me, I curse you and retribution will be made."
Brother Bertram Wednesday October 22nd, 2003 8:21:53 PM
Bertram slowly raises his hand and lays it upon the edge of K'nara's blade and moves it away from the mage slowly. "The deal was made and he has fulfilled his end of the bargain, Friend K'nara. Do not lose your soul because of one such as he. You are more than this creature before you. Please Friend K'nara do not do this I beseech you." Bertram pushes her blade to the side and speaks to the HOL mage. "Enough of this. You have met your bargain, Now go from this place. Talk is over and its time to take care of our friend." Making sure that K'nara has truly calmed down, Bertram moves to the body of Orson and kneels and lays the rod upon his chest. Praying over Orson, Bertram uses the power of the rod and calls out to Gargul to heal the fallen warrior.
Lian Wednesday October 22nd, 2003 9:24:32 PM
Lowering his bow, Lian is uncomfortable with the fact the HOL is being released. He mumbles a protest but no one can here what has been said.
Figment (Improved Invis, detect magic) Wednesday October 22nd, 2003 10:44:04 PM
The mage places the object in a pouch so that it disappears from view alaong with him. "You are fairly crafty for one foolish enough to cast his lot with the HOL. You may also recall the stipulation that you leave immediately. If you return or follow us, your life is forfeit. You will stay still for a moment more before being allowed to leave... Milo, my good man, would you please quickly search our prisoner here for other items of interest? We should make sure he has no ability to do anything but escape with his life - which was our agreement...". The mage smiles even though nobody can see it.
Milo Thursday October 23rd, 2003 1:23:23 AM
"Gladly," Milo approaches the man, short sword held low, and prepares to rifle through his clothes. A grim look that warns adorn's the diminutive rogue's face.
K'Nara Thursday October 23rd, 2003 6:01:55 PM
K'Nara's hazel eyes did not waver, though she didn't protest Brother Bertram's repositioning of her sword.
"I DID say before I helped this person out of the hole that I would be bound by the actions of my party if he, himself, agreed to be bound by the actions of his own." the redheaded woman said firmly. "You all bargained for the revival of Orson--and he is not to be harmed in return for that...however, there is still the life of that poor elven boy whom he and his ilk murdered in Emerald City. You all did NOT bargain for that--and now this person has nothing left to offer.
"However...since you all seem to agree that the spirit of the agreement was that this one not be harmed, then I will honor the spirit of you all...he leaves with his life." K'Nara nodded, then lifted her sword and proceeded to cut the clothing from their captive.
"But NOTHING else."
(OOC: unless there's a DM ruling that says otherwise, the mighty-ticked-off bladesinger will leave the spellcaster in only his loincloth [nope, not even leaving him booties or sandals!] and THEN let him walk away.)
