Guess Who's Coming to Dinner?

A Morning Knock (DM MikeK)
Thursday November 20th, 2003 1:31:31 PM

Florin and Gordo accompany hordes of kids to Domi's Temple. Mama Flaust laughs kindly at Florin's suggestion regarding the monk, and he finds she's known Gordo much longer than she's known Florin.

Xenia plays with Kyria.

Tionel, Syr, and Angus go out and have a great time. Conversation at the various bars seems to concentrate on the Crying Woods. A nobleman, Perimon, is recruiting folks to carve out a new town on the shoreline. His stated purpose is to set up a logging community, but a lot of folk think its just a jumping off point to find a lost city of gold buried deep in the jungle.

Bralin stays in the apartments and carves on a rock.

Bright and early the next morning, there is a loud knocking on the door of the apartments.

Florin
Thursday November 20th, 2003 2:06:38 PM

Florin enjoys his time out with the kids and shows them anywhere in the temple that he can go with the group and talks to Gordo as he does also, "Thanks for coming Gordo, figured I better bring someone else since I haven't been around kids much."

Before leaving Florin takes the kids to where he lives in the temple and point out his teacher, "Hey kids look, this is my teacher Liason. He taught me how to be a paladin when I was younger."

Florin smiles, proud to introduce his teacher as Liason goes into telling the kids of what training was like in the temple, to pep it up alittle he added some flair though to it and winks at the kids. Liason before they go does something that shocks Florin the most, he told the orphan kids about how clumsy Florin was in the temple, always tripping and at first clumsy with the sword and weapons they teach, but ends it that Florin has became much better in those areas but still abit clumsy. With a grin on his face from embarassing Florin alittle, Liason follows Gordo, Florin and the orphan kids to the door to see them off.

Outside and on the way back to the orphange with Gordo Florin looks to Gordo, "I can't believe he told the kids that. God those days were horrible, I think I broke 16 tea cups while suppose to be serving them to Liason." Once at the orphange Florin smiles and kneels down so the kids don't have to look up at him, "Well, I hope you enjoyed the temple of Domi and meeting everyone."

After this Florin will head to the GG with Gordo if he plans to head that way, "Shall we go get a nice drink my friend before we head to bed?" After having a few drinks Florin will make his way back to the temple of Domi and his room.

[Mike, Since Florin lives in the temple is he wokeup also or does someone need to come get him? I think it could be interesting to have to have someone come get him but let me know and I'll edit my post to include being wokeup.]

Angus
Thursday November 20th, 2003 3:36:04 PM

After the night on the town Angus is slow to rise but this rapping at the door just must be stopped. Angus gets up reluctanly and get the door in an effort to make the noise stop or his head throb.

Xenia
Thursday November 20th, 2003 3:46:42 PM

That evening, Xenia returns to the bell tower and packs her things. All of it seems to disappear quite easily into her haversack.

The news is quiet sudden, and she says a tearful goodbye to Oben and Beeble with hugs all around. But she promises to come visit. And when she's settled she promises to bring them around to show off the new place and introduce them to the guys.

She walks back to the apartments through the night streets of the Fence Level and arrives late in the evening. Tired, but full of excited energy, she walks into the corner room and begins removing things from the haversack
and arranging them around the room. She hangs her clothing and armor up in the closet. Weapons she places next to the bed. She frowns as she removes a hanky, a towel, and a blanket. All Tionel's. She holds them on her lap for a moment, simply looking at them. Then she disappears them back into the haversack. The group might have a use for them sometime in the future.

The next morning, Xenia awakens early. She misses the sound of gulls. But she brews some kaffe, and then goes out into the garden with a steaming jade colored mug to watch the sun rise, and that makes up for it just fine.

She comes in for another cup, and begins poking around a bit. She doesn't' want to invade anybody's privacy, but she's just too dang curious. She peeks into each room seeing who is in each, and, as she closes the last door, she realizes who is missing.

"Hey," Xenia says in a concerned voice that's way too loud for the morning. "Where's Florin?"

Then someone starts knocking at the door. "Oh, bother," she mumbles and arrives at the front door just as Angus is about to answer it.

Gordo
Thursday November 20th, 2003 3:54:13 PM

Gordo enjoys having a chance to be with the kids of the orphanage again. It has been a long time since served as a helper for Mama Flaust. With a mixture of infectious cheerfulness and the occasional rumbling growl when lines get overstepped, the big man maintains a degree of order amongst the chaos.

Liason's revelation elicits a deep belly laugh, and the big man grins when Florin mentions it walking home. "Ah, lad, it just shows how much he thinks of you, that he is close enough to take pride in your achievements. From clumsy kid to the man you are today!"

He passes a typically sonorous evening, and rises early to a light breakfast and training. He has just finished washing when he hears the knocking at the door, and heads off to answer it, bumping into Xenia and Angus on the way. "Morning lass, did you sleep well? Better than you, Angus, I'd wager! Domi's Britches, son, you look like you had a lively time last night!".

Xenia
Thursday November 20th, 2003 4:09:00 PM

"Good morning, Gordo," Xenia flashes a wide white smile back at the big man. "Would you like some kaffe, Angus," she asks with concern. Gordo's right. You don't look so good."

Bralin
Thursday November 20th, 2003 9:10:15 PM

Bralin nods in thanks for Gordo's praise of the statue.
"You may have it, if you wish," he tells the monk.

Quite a few people seem to be heading for the door. Bralin decides to bring his axe along, and takes up a position off to one side in the main room. He wants to see what happens, without being too close to seem threatening.

Tionel
Thursday November 20th, 2003 11:06:32 PM

(I have no clue what our sleeping establishment is like... I thought there were more than enough rooms for us? And, the idea of Bralin wishing to spend a room with Bog... does he realize what Bog smells like??? HAH)

Tionel finds himself going to sleep the latest and rising the earliest, except for perhaps Syr or an extremely extraordinary human. In any case, he rises before the sun, going outside to spend the first few minutes of his day walking the streets, watching people wake up in the city...in His city.
He smiles, ending up at a bakery, and smelling them getting things cooked in preparation for the morning rush. This is his morning ritual, to get the first few biscuits of the day, and he finds himself wondering if the others would want some...nah, he thinks to himself.
When the light finally peaks the city and people sleepily begin to bustle about, Tionel finds himself sitting cozily at a street corner in the center of where the market will be, watching and waiting. And when, a half hour later, the market is bustling with people on business and lively as ever, he still sits there, watching the animals of the city mill about in their tiny world.

After a bit more, he heads back...so he's probably not there when the knock occurs at the door of the apartments, but he gets there shortly thereafter. (Next post maybe)

Syr
Friday November 21st, 2003 2:33:10 AM

Syr rises early does a little gardening. When his ears pick up a knock on the door he starts inside to answer it only to see Angus headed that way. Seeing the mage come down the stairs in a sad state, he shakes his head sadly and thinks of the antics of the night before. Muttering to himself, "Well, someone has to watch those two..."

Visitor (DM MikeK)
Friday November 21st, 2003 12:26:44 PM

Gordo, Xenia, and Angus head to the door, with Bralin and Syr trailing behind.

Their visitor is a self assured looking man, about 6' tall and lanky, with tossled black hair and piercing blue eyes. He wears a thick, black leather jacket, emblazoned with an anvil inside a heart shape. He is also armed, wearing a sheathed rapier at his side.

"My name is Fargas," he begins simply. "You would be the Orphans."
Fargas' eyes expertly appraise the 5 heroes standing before him, lingering just a moment on the large axe Bralin brought with him. The man continues speaking without pause.
"I bring a message from my employer, Jonas of the Anvil Heart Gang. Maybe you've heard of us."

[Knowledge (local) check vs DC 15 recalls that Anvil Heart Gang is some kind of thieve's gang on the Trash Level]

"Jonas wants to talk to the folks who stole our turtle. He'd like to see you this afternoon at the Giggling Ghost. I think it'd be a real good idea if you did that."

The man's simple, straightforward, non-threatening tone never changes. But, his eyes flash with a menacing hardness as he calmly speaks that last sentence.

Friday November 21st, 2003 4:18:38 PM

"Toenail and Smeegle!" the half elf spits the names out like an angry cat. "If I catch them I am sooo going to give them a punch."

"Do you know those guys? Those Anvil guys? Thieves' gang from the Trash Level. My dad's mentioned them before. I bet those two low-life's stole that turtle from them then somehow blamed it on us.

Xenia takes a sip of kaffe long gone cold. She, so hot, however, that she doesn't even notice.

Florin
Friday November 21st, 2003 5:08:51 PM

Florin wakes early in the morning and quickly dresses in his armor and belts his sword on. He takes the time for a morning prayer and a short practice with his teacher before heading to the orphange to meet the others.

Florin is lucky enough not to get their in time to see the man from thenvil thieves but when he walks in he looks at everyone and can see something is wrong, "Uhhh, what did I miss? looks like someone ran away with your best friends." Florin smiles and waits ti be filled in on everything.

Sunday November 23rd, 2003 11:18:49 AM

Syr sits down on the couch looking sullen.

As Florin enters the elf brings him up to speed, "Well, Some guy named Fargas told us to go meet his employer, in a not so nice way, Jonas of the Anvil Heart gang." Syr frowns at the memory but suddenly brightens, "And Angus moved in with me while Bog stuff is in Bralin's room."

Looking at Bralin, "Fargas said something about folks stealing their turtle. Do you think that was our ride over or back to the land of the moving shrubs? Let's go meet him to explain the situation? After all, he wants to meet us at the giggling ghost, what better place to explain?"

Gordo
Sunday November 23rd, 2003 6:40:14 PM

"Fargas, eh?" rumbles the big man at the door. His good natured expansive grin remains in place, but in his eyes too there is now a glint of steel as he says "Pleasure ta meet you son. Looks like we'll be seeing one another later then."

Once Fargas is gone he nods at Syr's words. "Yup, those two lads Tolo and Nheel who got us our turtle out of the Trash level seem to have got us someone else's turtle. Now that should be easy enough to explain to this here Jonas, assuming he wants to hear it. The question is, are we going to tell this Jonas the names of two lads who stole his property? I'll admit, they're wronguns, but they're not bad wronguns, if you catch my drift. 'Cause I reckon if we name names to Jonas this afternoon those two boys will be fish food before you can say turtle soup. And I'm none to happy with that."

Bralin
Sunday November 23rd, 2003 10:10:52 PM

The dwarf can only shrug at Syr and Gordo as they raise their concerns.

"I've no experience with such deceit," he confesses. "I must submit to your judgement in these matters."

Bralin considers. "Yon tavern seems a neutral site, intended for parlay without danger," he offers. "I would say, attend."

Angus
Sunday November 23rd, 2003 10:34:46 PM

Angus was not pleased to be awoken and less pleased with the news and uncharacteristicly he takes the new in silence.

Later after recoveing from the night of revelry Angus comments. "If this is a neutral tavern then I say attend, but how about we get there early and check out the play. What do you think of keeping Xenia invisible and hidden as our ace in the hole or Jack or Jacket of Diamonds if things go south. Do we think this group truely knows all of us. Xenia and I are new, but he did see me?"

Meeting Prep (DM MikeK)
Monday November 24th, 2003 10:05:57 AM

Fargas relays the meeting time of 2, and leaves. The group is left to discuss the implications.

Sometime during the morning, Tionel and Florin arrive and get filled in.

The rest of the morning is spent in preparations. Will the heroes arrive early? arrive armed? arrive at all?

Stay tuned!

Florin
Monday November 24th, 2003 10:46:22 AM

Once Florin is filled in on everything he shakes his head and looks to Gordo, "I agree that we go meet them but I also say we do not mention who lent us the turtle. I do not believe 2 wrongs make a right and if they will kill your friends Gordo then that isn't right."

Florin thinks a moment and speaks once more, "I myself am wearing my sword, I never go anywhere without it and like to be always preapred. If these people end up having a problem with that then so be it."

Xenia
Monday November 24th, 2003 11:51:41 AM

Xenia cools down a bit and listens quietly to what both Florin and Gordo have said about those two idiots ending up dead. Sounds right to her.

"You guys are right," she says to Florin and Gordo with a sigh. "Could even start a small war down Trash Level if we turn them in. As grody as they are we can't turn them in."

"Sure would like to give them a punch, though," she mumbles.

She takes a sip of cold kaffe and then says, "You know, it might not be a good idea setting up for a fight at the Ghost. I mean, that could really trash the place."

"Oh, and Florin," she says touching the paladin's arm. "I need to talk to you about the room."

Tionel  d20+3=21 d20+2=11
Monday November 24th, 2003 3:29:55 PM

"Another visit to the trash level? So soon? Oh, well, I guess there's no avoiding it." Tionel looks around at his friends, and thinks to himself. "You know, we didn't steal his turtle, and we didn't harm anyone down there...You'd think he'd be okay with it. Unless..." Tionel's eyes narrow. "Unless there is someone else pulling on his strings, using their influence to make the Trash King guy do what he wants. Someone like a certain noble. Of course, that's just a guess. I'll see you guys at the Giggling Ghost."
Tionel will use the few hours between then and now to first remember and think if he knows anything about the Anvil Heart Gang or its King (Knowledge: Floating City DC 21), then he will try to go check around friends of his around town to see if they know anything about the gang. (Gather Info: DC 11)
After that, he gears up (I'll list his stuff he brings next post) and shows up at the Giggling Ghost a lot earlier than he needs to.

Syr
Tuesday November 25th, 2003 3:05:14 AM

Nudging Tionel, "A word of advice? It might not help much to refer to this guys as the 'Trash King' when we are down there." He grins at the elf

"I'm ready to go now, but I guess we can wait." Shrugging nonchalantly, "I'll be out in the garden if you need anything? Just give mme a yell before everyone leaves."

Gordo
Tuesday November 25th, 2003 8:45:06 AM

"Hoom" rumbles Gordo. "Well I'm glad we're not planning to drop those two in it. But I have a nasty feeling that if we don't come up with something Fargas is going to be mighty unimpressed with us. One of you guys or gals with a gift for the glib tongue might want to have a think about weaving some convincing yarn for him, or we might find ourseklves as the fishfood, instead of Tolo and Nheel!".

The Meeting (DM MikeK)
Tuesday November 25th, 2003 10:38:48 AM

Tionel makes his way down to the Giggling Ghost well in advance of the meeting. Finding himself a nice table, the druid indulges himself in the fine city life.

A few minutes later, five men walk in and look around. The leader directs one to stake out one end of the large room, and another goes to the other end.
The leader, a well dressed, well groomed dark skinned gentlemen, then occupies a semi private booth with his other two thugs/bodyguards. All five wear the 'anvil in heart' insignia on their clothes. The four guards are armed with short swords. The leader is apparently unarmed.

The rest of the party arrives just before two. The leader, Jonas, and his two guards are easy to pick out in their semi-private booth. The three turn to watch the group approach. Jonas, a tall, dark haired, dark skinned human, is watches with mild interest. His two guards quickly appraise the group and shift slightly to get their swords within easy reach. They appear a tad more concerned than their boss.

Tionel notes the other two are carefully watching the party as well.

Tionel  d20+2=20
Tuesday November 25th, 2003 1:57:02 PM

Tionel nonchalantly heads up to the bathroom or towards the stairs leading to the rooms that the inn has upstairs, whichever will offer him a view of the Jonas guy. He's trying to avoid looking like he's paying attention to them (Bluff check, DC 20). Either way, he uses the wall to shield most of himself from view of Jonas and his bodyguards, looks around to make sure nobody is watching him (or descending down the stairs or exiting the bathroom), then casts charm person on Jonas (DC 16 to resist).

[Note that Tionel's purpose in doing this is to use subterfuge to cast a spell on him... I dunno how spell-casting works in the Wold; does Tionel have to dance around a little elemental or yodel to the gods? He's trying to sneakily do it, using the cover of the nearby room and the fact that he isn't drawing attentino from them, to be able to cast charm person on the guy. Of course, he won't know if it is successful or not. Which brings up another question. Does the guy realize he had a spell cast upon him if it fails? In any case, Tionel just wishes to avoid being noticed by the guys.]

Xenia  d20+11=26
Tuesday November 25th, 2003 2:21:40 PM

As the group sets out for the Giggling Ghost, Xenia button holes, Florin for a quick word.

"Um, Florin, it's really noble of you to give up your room with the guys for me. But I can't let you do it. I've got a place I can go. I mean. Oh framble. We need to talk about this."

Then as they approach the Ghost, she tugs at Angus' sleeve.

"Maybe Invisible wouldn't be such a bad idea, Angus," she whispers to the mage. "I'm not sure what I'd have to say to these guys anyway. As much as I don't like those two idiots Tolo and Smegma, I sure wouldn't want them killed."

[[ If Angus deigns to grace Xenia with Invisibility, then she moves as quietly as possible to a spot between the semi private booths and the gaming arena. She readies a her sling and a sling bullet, holding both in her left hand. Her black gloved right hand stands free.

If not, then she just trails along with the rest. Preferably to the back of the group. ]]

Tuesday November 25th, 2003 2:47:21 PM

Angus casts invisibility on Xenia shortly before getting to the Inn and mentions " now remember you will only be invisible for about 30 minutes and at that point we will be able to se your pretty face. I will nod to you if you become visible and do not realize it."

As Angus walks into the Inn with everyone he intones " Lets get this over with and find out what is going on."

Florin
Tuesday November 25th, 2003 3:25:06 PM

Florin follows the group to meet the anvil heart gang and ponders on what may lay ahead. When Xenia corners him for a moment he smiles to her and shakes his head, "I do not mind m'lady Xenia. My home at the temple is very nice and all I need. A lady such as yourself should have a place of her own, or a room of her own atleast."

Florin nods once more to Xenia and doing his best to hide his blush, winks before commenting, "Anyway, what would people think if a paladin of Domi was staying in the same room as a lady." Florin smiles and hopes Xenia doesn't take offense to his joke since he wouldn't dare mean it.

Xenia
Tuesday November 25th, 2003 4:03:05 PM

"Actually, I meant that you could take the room, and I could move back to the bell tower. Um. I mean, you were with the group first. But, um ... Well, that's what I meant. I mean ... "

Tuesday November 25th, 2003 4:36:54 PM

The big man grins at the bashful youths as they enter the Giggling Ghost. Looking round he looks for the leader and any of his men (Spot 18), nods cheerfully if he spots them, and heads for the bar. He orders a goats milk, and if Happy or Daphne are serving, greets them warmly.

Then he turns and heads for Jonas' booth along with the others and smiles "Afternoon."

Tionel (OOC)
Tuesday November 25th, 2003 5:56:19 PM

[I went through the archives and found this on our apartments...thought I'd post it, belatedly, to help everyone understand just what sort of place we have.]

The apartment seems to be shaping up fairly nicely with three single bedrooms and two double bedrooms upstairs along with a central living area and a meeting area near the stairs. While the downstairs is being shaped into three rooms, a kitchen, and large family/eating room/library and an all purpose room near the front door.
As Lera's crew works you hear occasional exclamations and then alot of activity and then silence. It is after these silences that Lera comes and gets who ever is around and shows them the secret and trap doors and escape routes that her crew has built into the apartment.
The outside garden is set up with a small bricked sitting area surrounded by lots of top quality, loamy top soil, just waiting to be planted in. She explains that gardens tend to grow best for those who plant and tend them, so they do no planting nor plant selection.
The furniture, while nice is obviously not brand new and is more servicable than beautiful. The cabinetry, tables, and chests are all of excellent work but are basic utilitarian pieces that are easily moved and functional.
The area rugs are tied to each other through their patterns but each reflect the color preferences of each of you and blend well with the rest of the apartment.
But the two most amazing things are the two pieces of wall art upstairs on the two large walls. If you look at them they seem to be three dimensional and the figures seems to actually be moving.
The one near the staircase actually seems to be a recreation of the last moments of the Mask Day and if you look closely you can see what appear to be smal replicas of you all.
The second piece by the fireplace, is much more relaxing and pastoral. It seems to be a forest glade scene complete with frollicking deer nnd rabbits and even two centaurs walking through the edge of the meadow.
Both are amazing pieces and radiate illusiary magics.

(Anyways...that's a bit late, but I figure it'll help explain things. Or maybe confuse them. Sigh.)

I went through looking for apartment details last week as well. IIRC, there was some mention of putting in a spiral staircase as well. I think this was during the section when you were all getting new clothes. I remember Bog getting a mega-bath. Anybody else recall?

Bralin
Tuesday November 25th, 2003 10:25:28 PM

Bralin trails along behind Florin and Gordo. There is going to be a lot of talking, and the dwarf just isn't comfortable with that.

He waits for Gordo to pick up the discussion, and contents himself with staring down the bodyguards.

The elf goes with the others to the Giggling Ghost. When he arrives, he takes a moment to glance around the room trying to spot Tionel (Spot 26). He sees the elf and continues on to Jonas' table.

As he approaches, he speaks, "From the symbol on your clothes, I'm guessing that you are from the Anvil Heart Gang. Someone named Jonas ASKED to meet with us?" He nods to the well dressed gentleman and slides into the booth.

Justin Webber (ADM) Jonas Meeting
Wednesday November 26th, 2003 10:12:32 AM

(OOC:With Thanksgiving right around the corner Mike won't beable to post till Monday. He has given me the info to run this till he gets back. Bare with me please as this is my first actual Game DM job :).)

Angus slips in ahead of the group and watches the members of the Anvil Heart gang come in.

Xenia slips in with te rest of the group while invisible.

All who did a spot check can clearly see the other Anvil Heart gang members who aren't with Jonas at the table. (Please look at Mike's post for locations since I think he stated where they went.)

Jonas's guards keep a good grip on their shortswords and Jonas himself clasps his hands together and smiles warmly even to the group, "Good-day sirs, please sit and get comfortable." While waiting for the group to sit he makes a small motion not openly noticeable for his men at the table to ease up abit, so they slowly take their hands away from their shortsword, but only a small distance.

Jonas looks to Syr and nods now, "Yes, I did call you to this meeting. I'll get right to the point gentleman, the trick used to summon the turtle in the trash level was a secret 'owned' by the Anvil Heart. We don't allow the use of such things for free you see." Jonas smiles and clasps his hands together, "Now you see, there is a sea monster that has taken up residence in the same flood lock, this prevents the use of the turtle. For use of the turtle I would 'like' you to get rid of the sea monster. Doing this would not only aid the Anvil Hearts but the whole city."

(OOC:I have no stats for Jonas or mention of the charm spell effects. Angus, do you mind if we just say the spell didn't work? or maybe you change your mind on casting?)

Xenia  d20+9=13
Wednesday November 26th, 2003 11:58:33 AM

The half elven girl relaxes visibly (or, rather, invisibly) as the likelihood of combat and death drops by appreciable degrees. Still, her eye roams the room, wondering, among other things, where Tionel might be. It's not hard to spot the Anvil Heart guys. Makes her wonder why anyone would want to wear a big glowing sign on themselves that says 'hit me.'

Anyway, the sea monster bit is a little surprising. She's not sure how sea monsters fits into her little world, but after a plant monster, a giant bug, and carnivorous vines ... Well, how bad could it be?

Still, she's really annoyed at having to pay for something that they didn't know they were buying. It would feel really good to give that Tolo and Schpiel a good punch right now.

The big man raises a bushy red eyebrow at the mention of a sea monster. "Sea monster eh? Well it seems fair enough to me to go sort it out if it's down to us that it's there. Do you know anything about it? What it looks like, how it attacks?" He polishes off his goats milk and burps delicately.

Angus  d20+5=24
Wednesday November 26th, 2003 5:47:37 PM

Angus is outwardly not excited about the idea of a seamonster and attempts to use his charms to change the situation (Diplomancy check 24). "We did not steal your turtle, but if for some reason we have offended the Anvil Heart Gang maybe we can work together to rid the trash level and the city of the Sea Monster. Since what happen was by no means malice on our part and you seem to have plenty of able bodied men, lets try this as a group effort. What say you Jonas."

Angus waits for Jonas's reply and then adds "Gordo speaks true, we all need to know what kind of sea monster we are up against. Please elaborate so the we can set up a joint plan for our forces."

Seeing that the tone of Jonas' conversation is slightly less hostile Syr eases his intensity a bit, "Sea monster you say? While I have no problem with an even trade, why aren't you taking care of it? Obviously, it poses some sort of ... inconvienence?"

Tionel
Thursday November 27th, 2003 12:15:12 PM

Tionel doesn't participate in the conversation, and doesn't cast the charm person. Like two goons in the back, he's there to make sure nothing untoward happens from outside the group. He nonchalantly crosses over to the bar and has a seat.
[I'm going to be badly posting over thanksgiving, sorry.]

Justin Webber (ADM) Jonas meeting cont
Thursday November 27th, 2003 1:57:49 PM

Jonas looks at Angus and smiles at the mans trying to get him to help and speaksup, "The Anvil Heart have obligations of their own to attend and once again, for the use of the turtle I think you should deal with this."

Jonas thinks for a moment before going into the info on the sea monster, "We only have alittle info on the sea monster. Has a long neck and large body. Few have actually seen it and it is usually doen in some type of concealment, fog or darkness."

Xenia
Thursday November 27th, 2003 4:33:02 PM

The dark half elf breathes a sigh of relief. Sometime these guys can be surly and unreasonable.

Angus  d20+5=14
Thursday November 27th, 2003 8:40:46 PM

Angus attempts a new tact. " We at least need a guide to the monster and some logistcal support. You are familiar with the area and we are not." Diplomance check 14

Florin
Thursday November 27th, 2003 11:27:19 PM

Florin looks to Jonas and then the others once hearing the small description and everything.

After a moments thought he leans over close to Gordo, "I don't think they want to help us any farther really and I don't know if we should trust them with helping us."

Gordo
Friday November 28th, 2003 2:21:19 AM

"True enough, son" rumbles the big man with a grin to Florin. "Well, hey, I don't need my hand held to tackle no sea beastie. Jonas, you're on old son. Angus here has a point, though. And if you have any potions of Water Breathing gathering dust we wouldn't say no."

He cracks his knuckles, looking forward to bashing monster.

Syr
Friday November 28th, 2003 2:25:01 AM

Grinning at Gordo's bravado, he says, "Well we can at least take a look at it... Directions would certainly help?" With that he gets up to leave.

Justin Webber (ADM) Jonas meeting concluding?
Friday November 28th, 2003 3:18:47 PM

Jonas nods at the comments and thinks a moment before grinning, "You all will have to go and surely get packed and ready. If we send a guide he will meet you back at your place before you leave, if one isn't there by then then you will have to find a way. Thats the offer."

Jonas motions to his men and begins to stands, "Good day gentleman."

Xenia
Friday November 28th, 2003 3:29:27 PM

"Hmph," Xenia almost says out loud. "Some 'Offer.'" She sticks an invisible tongue out at the Anvil Heart boss. If it didn't help the city too, we'd tell you where to stick your offer, she thinks, bravely invisible.

Angus  d20+5=23
Friday November 28th, 2003 8:09:08 PM

Angus crosses his arms in anoyance. "Not an equitable deal. I belive we deserve additional consideration since you are expecting us to do your heavy lifting, which it sounds like we have agreed to with conditions, reasonable conditions. We need more help from your gang to proceed." (dipolmancy check 23)

Florin
Friday November 28th, 2003 10:43:27 PM

Florin looks to Angus and speaks low enough to hopefully only he will hear, "Angus, you sure you want to trust these men farther let alone provoke them maybe?"

Florin glances to Jonas and then back to Angus, "We should just except his offer and see what comes about from it."

Gordo
Sunday November 30th, 2003 3:16:21 PM

The big man grins at Angus' stand. "You tell em, son!" he grins. "The lad has a point old son: an outfit like yours surely has the clout to back us a wee bit."

Xenia
Sunday November 30th, 2003 9:20:19 PM

Xenia is almost waving her arms and jumping up and down as her deeply ingrained materialistic streak kicks into overdrive.

Potions! Stuff! Get stuff! Make them give us stuff!

(Aren't you all glad Angus made her invisible?)

Syr  d20+17=33
Monday December 1st, 2003 12:37:04 AM

The elf pauses before leaving table. "Sir, you are asking us to help with an unknown situation. While our sense of duty obligates us to help, doesn't your since of pride warrant a bit of generosity for the deed? As most know, we heavily support Mother Flauset's orphange. I think some sort of reward would be fair at the least..." (Diplomacy check of 33) He smiles warmly at the leader, Jonas.

The Talking Continues (DM MikeK)
Monday December 1st, 2003 9:33:49 AM

As Angus and Syr turn on the charm, Jonas slides back down into his chair and leans back comfortably.

"I think you are perhaps missing the crux of the issue, gentlemen," he says casually.

"You stole our property. We don't like that. Now, I've already gone to great lengths to convince the others in my, um, organization to accept the elimination of this monster as fair compensation for this public humiliation you've created for us. Your 'reward' is we won't pursue other, er, options."

He looks calmly at Syr. "We are well aware of your group's association with the orphanage. A most heroic and soul tugging institution. We've noted with great concern that building's appalling lack of fire protection."

Jonas pauses for a second before continuing.
"The creature has taken up residence in the very same flooding lock from which you stole our turtle, therefore I assume you know the location. However, I suppose we could arrange for a couple of guides if you must have them.

And, if you feel insufficiently equipped, I'm sure more arrangements could be made to provide you what you require, for a minumum fee, of course."

Jonas' face is quite calm, and his eyes are quite cold, as he surveys the group.
"I hope we understand one another, gentlemen".

Xenia
Monday December 1st, 2003 11:08:41 AM

The implied threat to the orphanage washes through Xenia like winter chill. She becomes very still, and all of the frenetic excitement at the possibility of acquiring new stuff disappears, pulled down into a colder harder part of her psyche.

She's a girl who learns her heeds her father well. And one of her father's words of wisdom now comes to mind, Once blackmailers know they have a hold on you. They will never leave you alone.

Tionel
Monday December 1st, 2003 1:57:15 PM

Tionel hangs in the background, watching the group from the other table cautiously, as well as keeping track on the front door in case anybody interesting enters.

Florin
Monday December 1st, 2003 5:11:48 PM

Florin looks to Jonas and nods as he looks to the others, "We should just go with the deal here. We want no problems and if the sea monster is harming the city then lets just get rid of it."

Angus  d20+5=8
Monday December 1st, 2003 5:21:54 PM

Angus is not taking this well and is losing his temper (Diplomancy check 8). Angus's voice starts to rise in pitch and he speaks. "You come to us with demands and a good deed to perform and now you threaten children with death by fire. What kind of organization do you run and what kind of people do you think we are. We were willing to perform you task with some assistance but NOW.......AND what kind of assurances do we have that you will not threaten to burn down the orphanage, NONE. I am disgusted with these dealing. We do not even know who you are, we could be dealing with a friendly sea monster......" Angus is sputtering and stomps away from the table.

Bralin
Monday December 1st, 2003 10:24:38 PM

The dwarf stands with Florin. He listens silently to the conversation, idly wondering why humans always seem so determined to talk so much.

Gordo
Tuesday December 2nd, 2003 2:36:26 AM

The big man leans in towards Jonas, and says softly "Now see here, laddie. We'll kill your beastie, like we said. But for me folk who threaten wee kiddies come one step lower than demon dung. So, just so we understand each other laddie, let me make this plain. Any harm comes to that orphanage, I'll be holding you personally responsible. And if that happens, old lad, you and I will have a falling out, see?

Syr  d20+4=16
Tuesday December 2nd, 2003 3:09:10 AM

Seeing Angus' reaction to Jonas' words he uses both hands to shove Angus toward the door(Strength check 16). "See what you get me into? I leave you guys for two days and you steal someone's turtle!!! What happens the next time that I get hit on the head? Are we going to move into the Dragon Mansion?" Continuing to push Angus out the door, "What? Do I need to hire a babysitter to keep you out of trouble?"

Once outside he slows down, speaking softly. "Now is not the time or place to put Jonas down." Looking directly at the mage, "He has reinforcements and I don't want to break up Happy's place."

Clenching his fist, "I'm sure everyone is upset by his oblique threats however let's focus on the job at hand. Which way to that overgrown serpent?"

Another Visitor (DM MikeK)
Tuesday December 2nd, 2003 9:45:16 AM

Jonas' eyes flick dispassionately toward Angus for a moment as the sorceror stomps off, before quickly coming back to Gordo.

If he is impressed by the monk, he doesn't show it. His guards however, both have their hands moving toward their blades before Jonas stops them with a quick shake of his head.

"Well, I see no need for any falling out," he answers calmly. "You've agreed to our price for recompense, and that should be that. Now, if you gentlemen will excuse me, I do have other business to attend to this day."

With that, Jonas and his entourage leave.

The party heads back to their apartments for some more conversation. Waiting at their door is yet another visitor.

This one is a human male, of average build, and in his mid-twenties. He wears a green cloak over a plain brown shirt and leggings. Other than the staff he's leaning on, he is apparently unarmed. Upon the group's approach, he looks up excitedly.

"Oh, are you the group that got the ghost out of the woods?" he asks.
"I'm Tarketh, from the Circle of the Alder. I was hoping you could help us out."

Tionel will recognize the name of the group. The Circle of the Alder is a druidic group dedicated to keeping the city and the Crying Woods from intruding upon one another.

Florin
Tuesday December 2nd, 2003 1:56:00 PM

Florin looks to the man who stands waiting for them. He shakes his head at all the suprise visits today and whispers half to himself, "Maybe Domi will visit us next."

Xenia
Tuesday December 2nd, 2003 3:14:17 PM

Xenia is quiet on the way back to the apartments. She's, in some small measure, angry at some of the guys for knuckling under to the threats of the Anvil Heart, but it's all fueled, for the most part, by worry for Kyria and the orphans.

"The orphanage will always be at risk unless we do something about it," the half elf's disembodied voice says as they walk through the streets of the Fence Level. "Now I know why I had to leave home," she mutters. "You have to learn how to protect your own."

Half way back to the apartments, Xenia reappears, deeply frowning face and all. She remains pensive and thoughtful the rest of the way. And when they spot the second figure at their door, she's cagey and irritable.

Without much thought she blurts out, "We didn't steal the bug. He's our friend."

Tionel  d20+9=22 d20+6=7 d20+4=5
Tuesday December 2nd, 2003 3:50:33 PM

Tionel skips forward eagerly, and bows his head in respect to the man at their door. Eager to soothe any misspoken words from earlier, and not wanting to upset a person who may be cut from the same clothe, he chooses to take the lead in this situation. "Greetings and salutations, Tarketh, my fellow druid brother. My name is Tionel, and please, don't take Xenia's words the wrong way. My beautiful companion is distracted by other events that have recently occured to us.
"Would you care to join us inside? I believe have some excellent tea if you're in need of refreshment." (If he accepts, Tionel leads everyone inside to the table in the main room and they break out tea, afterwards/if not, Tionel continues:)

"So, what would a member of the druidic circle so interested in disputes between the Crying Woods and the Floating City wish in us?" Tionel regards the man with curious blue eyes...does he seem like a druid? He will look in particular for any membership identification, like maybe some mistletoe, or a certain emblem representing the order of Alder...

(Diplomacy 23 (22+1 'cause I forgot I put another rank in it when I went up a level), and I'll use a few knowledges I have to try to think about this group, Circle of Alder. Specifically, does it seem like the kind of group that would be a good ally? Knowledge; nature roll of 7, and a knowledge: Local roll of 5...sigh. Never mind... two natural one's in a roll... Tionel is clueless.)

Angus
Tuesday December 2nd, 2003 5:25:56 PM

Angus is irritable on the way back to the apartments not talking to anyone until Xenia reappears. " How did you like being invisible. Was it fun or what?"

ANgus mood clears until he sees the new stranger "Do you have any use for a Sea Monster. We know where you can find one and it is very inexpensive at that...."

Xenia
Tuesday December 2nd, 2003 9:03:34 PM

Xenia, momentarily startled from her reverie by the mage's question, answers automatically and quite literally.

"Well, being invisible doesn't tickle. And it's much easier to bump into things and hurt yourself when you can't see parts of your body."

"You should try it some time."

Bralin
Tuesday December 2nd, 2003 9:48:45 PM

Bralin trails along behind the group, pondering what a 'sea monster' might be.

His thoughts are interrupted by yet another person that wants to talk. As Tionel happily engages in the conversation, Bralin impatiently waits to get back to his stone.

Syr
Wednesday December 3rd, 2003 3:28:33 AM

Syr spends his time on the way back to the apartment glancing at Angus to judge his reaction to the situation. Seeing the visitor, he nods and smiles and quietly continues to the table.

Gordo
Wednesday December 3rd, 2003 9:10:04 AM

The big man smiles at the druid in greeting, but lets Tionel do the talking.

Druid's Request (DM MikeK)
Wednesday December 3rd, 2003 10:20:28 AM

Tarketh cocks his head to one side and scrunches his eyebrows together in confusion over Xenia's opening statement.

Tionel's rescue comes as an obvious relief to the man. There is nothing about Tarketh's attire that clearly marks him as a druid, but he does eagerly clasp Tionel's hand.
"Thank you, brother. Tea would be lovely."

The group lounges in the main room while tea and any other refreshments are served. Tarketh takes in the apartments with some degree of astonishment. "My goodness, I didn't know heroing paid so well."
He turns delightedly to Tionel again. "You've heard of the Circle? Wonderful!" Setting down his tea, he takes in the entire group.

"We are a small group of druids who believe in achieving a balance between our fair city and the woods that occupy our near shores. In essence, we want the woods to stay in the woods, and the people to stay here. As you can imagine, this is no small task."

Tarketh pauses and takes another sip.
"Our immediate concern is an outbreak of poisonous flowers on the Trash Level. The flowers are small and grow in patches. Their white petals apparently are coated with some kind of poison that makes people extremelely sick. There have even been reports of fatalities. We'd like to gather a dozen or so of these petals and use them to distill an antidote to the poison. However, being druids, we are much more comfortable operating in the wood than on the Trash Level."

Tarketh shudders, then continues, taking in everybody, but especially Tionel, with questioning eyes.
"We were hoping your group might consent to going down there and gathering the flowers for us."

Xenia
Wednesday December 3rd, 2003 10:50:25 AM

Xenia sighs at the new guy's look of confusion.

"Sorry," she says. "Kind of upsetting day." And she manages a white smile by way of apology.

As the group files in she fixes some kaffe for those who might prefer it over tea, and then she curls up on a sofa to listen.

Xenia's eyes grow wide as saucers as Tarketh describes the white flowers.

"Hey," she pops up and walks across the room. "Would you recognize one of those flowers if you saw it? I mean, maybe they're the same one's that Max likes."

"Max is the bug," she says to Tarketh as an aside. "He helped us in the forest."

"Didn't you take a sample of one of those, Tionel?" she asks getting excited again.

Angus
Wednesday December 3rd, 2003 1:19:31 PM

Angus can't wait to get back in the apartments. He forgoes tea and get some wine from his private stores and offers it to the group and Tarketh. "Wine if anyone wants an alternative to tea. It has been a trying day as Xenia mentioned." Angus is noticable more relaxed.

Angus sits and listens to Tarketh. "Flowers. Interesting. We know Max liked them. You should have seem Tionel and Max together. It was great. We would not have gotten out of the forest without either of them. Tarketh do you think Sea Monsters will like these flowers also?"

Florin
Wednesday December 3rd, 2003 2:47:55 PM

Florins sits back and listens to what is said and talked about. He thinks the others are doing a good job on covering all the details or questions he might have.

Gordo
Wednesday December 3rd, 2003 3:13:44 PM

The big man shrugs. "Well, we're planning to head down there anyway, so it shouldn't be a problem, old son. Though I can't say as I see a problem with you heading down to the Trash level yourself. It's not as bad as people make out."

"You know, you're not how I imagined a woodland druid, lad. I thought you folks would be be all wild eyed with twigs and rabbit bones stuck in your beard. Bare chested and mud-spattered, shoes made of hollowed out weevils, that sort of thing. It just goes to show how wrong you can be."

Tionel
Wednesday December 3rd, 2003 8:19:02 PM

"That is a most interesting task, Tarketh, and one which is, coincidentally on our way. Perhaps too coincidentally," he says more to himself and the rest of the group... "Excuse me a moment, I'll be right back."
He hurries up to his room and comes back downstairs with the book and a set of gloves. Opening to the page of the previous adventure, he puts on the gloves and unwraps a flower that has been gently removed, soil and all, and wrapped in a waterproof sack. It should be somewhat well-preserved.

** I'm pretty sure I mentioned that I did this in the last adventure **

"Is it like this flower? Don't touch it... it leaves sores and is definitely poisonous to the touch. We found it in the forest recently. Xenia is right... one of the forest denizens feasted upon these things voraciously.
"We'd be glad to pick up some flowers on our way through the trash level. We were headed down there for some business, perhaps something that you or your brothers could help us with? A group of ruffians, denizens of that level, lent us the use of a giant turtle for passage previously. Now, the turtle is gone. Now, I, personally, don't care much for these ruffians, but they also say some sort of sea monster is loose. Something which hurts people. A sort of sea monster... Now, what you just said indicates that your group would probably be interested this creature, and may know more about it.
"To sum up," he clarifies, both for himself and for the druid in front of him, "we don't really know what's going on in the trash level. A missing turtle, these mysterious flowers, a sea monster...perhaps eating these flowers has caused the turtle to gone mad, or perhaps these flowers lured in a creature from the bay to prey upon unfortunates. In any case, we definitely will be going to investigate, and pick up these flowers, and solve this problem. Where can we reach you if we need you, or your group's, help?"

Bralin
Wednesday December 3rd, 2003 10:33:34 PM

Bralin collapses on a couch and watches with growing horror at the realization there will be still more talking.

"Wine," he calls as Angus makes his offer. Perhaps it will help. The dwarf helps himself to several glasses.

Syr
Thursday December 4th, 2003 1:33:14 AM

Syr listens in quietly as everyone poses their questions to the druid. He leans back against the same couch as Bralin and quietly asks, "Assuming gloves are all we need to gather these flowers, why not just throw a patch of them into the same lock as the sea monster? I know Max liked them, but maybe the Sea Monster stomach is closer to ours?"

Bring Out the Flowers (DM MikeK)
Thursday December 4th, 2003 9:24:17 AM

Tarketh dutifully tries to follow the conversation, but occasionally has some difficulty.

Replying in growing excitement to Xenia, "Well, yes, I believe I could recognize the flower. You have a sample? Wonderful! I'd love to see it!"

In some confusion to Angus, "Um, I don't know about sea monsters."

Laughing with Gordo, "I haven't worn twigs for quite some time now. And city living has its advantages." The druid raises his tea cup in example.

When Tionel returns with his flower, Tarketh leaps up excitedly. "Yes! That's it! Fantastic!" Bending over the sample with Tionel, the man launches in a minute description of flower, not unlike a professor in a botany class.
"Look at the shape of the stamen," he marvels. "Do you suppose the poison is manufactured in this structure, here?" he asks Tionel. And so on.

It is only with some effort that Tionel can tear him away from the plant.

"Sea monster?" he asks blankly. "Oh yes, you mentioned that before. Well, I really don't know about any sea monster. I'm sure the group wouldn't like a monster in the city, so they'd probably be interested in whatever you found."
Tarketh looks around guiltily.
"I should tell you that I'm just a junior member of the Circle, and really can't be making any promises about aid and such. But I don't see why we wouldn't. Our building is called Alder House. Its on the Gold Level, between Copper Way and Ruby Walk. And I can meet you here tomorrow or the next day, if you prefer."

Xenia
Thursday December 4th, 2003 11:00:53 AM

A puckered dimple appears in the side of her cheek as Xenia thinks for a moment over her cup of kaffe.

"How big's an 'outbreak?'," she ask slowly, almost thinking out loud. "I mean, maybe if we know where these flowers are outbreaking, and maybe if it's around the dock where we got the turtle, then maybe we'd know that the dock and the turtle and the sea monster and the flowers are all connected."

"Maybe," she says after a pause for some more thought.

Florin
Thursday December 4th, 2003 1:49:29 PM

Florin listens to what is said and has moved over by Bralin. He looks down to Bralin and comments mainly to him, "I hope they don't try burning the flowers out, could be even more dangerous. If only we had a couple little Max's to help us."

Xenia
Thursday December 4th, 2003 2:09:46 PM

Xenia returns to the couch after overhearing Florin.

"I'm not sure they're looking to get rid of the flowers." she whispers. "You can't get rid of flowers, can you?"

"He said something about making an antidote. I wonder if the one we have here is enough, or if they need more."

"By the way," Xenia changes the subject rather shyly. "I mean, if you want the room, Florin, you can have it. I've got a place I can go to, you know."

Syr
Friday December 5th, 2003 2:23:20 AM

The elf's ears perk up as Tarketh speaks he leans over and whispers to Bralin, "I bet the Gold Dragons don't have to deal with 'junior members.' " Louder, "I still dread swimming in monster infested waters, trying to chase it out. Anyone have any ideas how to drive it out of the lock?"

As Xenia and Florin talk, he blurts out, "What is this? I'm rather offended. It really shouldn't be a question of who wants to live here the least? At the orphange, I learned family live together. With Bog away, we have room for both of you, why not use it? Heck, given Bog's bathing habits it's possible he'll want a hammock in the garden when he returns." He grins slightly in fond memory.

With that he rises preparing to leave for the lower levels.

Tionel
Friday December 5th, 2003 4:45:11 AM

"Hold up there, Syr," advises Tionel. "I'd suggest not going down in your most clean clothes, if you understand my drift. The trash level, specifically wet areas, are not known for their cleanliness. I would prefer going tomorrow myself, early in the morning, not knowing how long it will take and having much free time. But if we must go, at least allow me the time to get changed and gather what we will probably need for an underwater excursion."

Bralin
Friday December 5th, 2003 8:37:50 AM

Bralin mentally sighs in relief. The talk has worked its way 'round to tactics, a subject he feels comfortable with.

He makes his suggestion, albeit rather curtly.
"Descend now. Yon scout (Xenia) shall determine the creature's location and strength. Then, we may prepare and deal with it on the morn."

Angus  d20+7=19
Friday December 5th, 2003 8:46:33 AM

"I agree with Bralin. I can go with Xenia and aid her. We can come back and report and rest up for our excusion tomorrow. I am not excited about the idea either way but it seems best." Angus then drains his wine glass and takes out his plute and begins to play a sober tune (Dc 19). An excellent but melencoly tune.

Gordo
Friday December 5th, 2003 9:56:26 AM

The big man nods at Bralin's plan. "Aye, makes sense, son. But I sugest we all go with the lass. She can do the close quarter scouting, but you never know what's going to happen down on the Trash level. Safety in numbers, I say.

As for preparing, I reckon we'll need to be able to breath underwater for a bit. Has anyone got spells that can do that, or should we buy potions and such?""

Making Plans (DM MikeK)
Friday December 5th, 2003 9:58:10 AM

Tarketh looks a bit sheepish at Xenia's question regarding how big the 'outbreak' is.
"I don't really know," he admits. "They said the flowers were starting to cause trouble, and a couple drunks that fell asleep inside a patch died from the poison. I don't think its too big, but I don't know for sure."

As the talk turns to what to do next, Tarketh thanks the group and leaves, promising to return in the morning on the day after tomorrow.
"We'd like about a dozen flowers, if you can. Thank you, all." Tarketh leaves.

So, our heroes are left to figure out what to do now.

Bralin
Friday December 5th, 2003 10:06:00 AM

The dwarf nods with Angus and Gordo, while making a mental note to be very clear with these people. By the stone, wasn't it obvious the entire group would descend?

"I've no spells to assist should we submerge," he says.

Time to address his other concern.
"Our group lacks a tactical leader. Events in the Wood should have made clear the need for one. Florin or Syr should command during battle."

Xenia
Friday December 5th, 2003 12:01:13 PM

Xenia gives Syrdeth a pained look. "I didn't mean that I'd rather not live here. It's nice, and I like you guys. But I feel bad about making Florin move out for me."

"Thank you again, Florin, for the outfits. They're so beautiful."

"Do you really think Bog won't mind if Florin takes his spot for now?" she asks the senior elf.

Xenia's green eyes grow bright and attentive as Bralin begins discussing tactics. This is the kind of group effort that her father had trained her for. The "way" of any sensible job, really. She nods to the dwarf in acknowledgement. She would scout and return with information. Then she looks to Florin and Syrdeth as Bralin proposes a tactical leader.

Angus
Friday December 5th, 2003 1:18:05 PM

Angus pipes up " I also have no magical aid or spells that help with water breathing or the like. I am ready right now for scouting and will be ready for a tussel in the morning. My questions are, how do we find the beast, how do we subdue the beast, and what is stopping the beast from running away and comming back? Can we open the doors at the trash level for it to swim out and then close them so we do not have to kill it? Also after taking a 12 flowers for Tarketh should we destroy the others and what is a safe method so that we do not spread the pollin and have more poison flowers grow? Any ideas?"

Angus falls in a comfotable chair and waits for answers from the tacticians?

Tionel
Friday December 5th, 2003 1:36:58 PM

The usually cheerful elf frowns at the conversation's turn of events. Battle tactics, chosen leader, destroying plants. Hmph.
He thinks to himself. We are not a group of mercenaries that seek destruction, are we? To go out and to kill in the most organized manner possible? But he keeps his thoughts to himself. He hums to that tune Angus was playing and heads upstairs, getting his gear. (to be listed)

Florin
Friday December 5th, 2003 1:56:43 PM

Florin looks to Xenia and her questions and comments and breaks into a grin at Syr's comment before he finally speaks, "Dear Xenia is wrong on one thing. I believe I spent one night at the Giggling Ghost with everyone but otherwise my home is the temple. I do not mind living there as it is where I have spent most of my life and prbably will yet till I find a lady worthy of giving vows too....by the way Xenia, I wouldn't advise taking those clothes into the trash level, you can guess why." Florin smiles abit, thinking of the clean up that would be needed on the clothes afterwards.

Florin thinks at the comments yet on tactics and leaders and finally comments, "I agree that we all go and the flowers will cause a problem, we will need to rremove atleast the tops of them to keep them from spreading pollen, second of course is we would need to manage a small fire and keep it from burning out of control. Easily done with water and it shouldn't be hard to get. I personally do not mind who is the leader as long as we work as a team."

Florin looks to everyone and chuckles, "For now it might be a good idea to see this sea monster before buying anything to combat it. I also think we should be weary of the Anvil Heart help that we will be getting to help."

Xenia's ponytail tilts in the same direction that her head does as she listens to Angus. Then she raises her hand.

"I can't swim either," she says. Then she turns to Tionel and asks, "What's 'pollin?'"

The elf looks at Bralin with some surprise, then quickly down at the floor. He speaks softly and bashfully, "I'll listen to Florin." Stammering slightly, "Most of you might have noticed... I tend to get caught up in the moment and do things without thinking."

(OOC: and I generally post late at night after everyone else, not exactly ideal.)

As Angus poses his questions, the elf turns to look at the others, "Yeah, why not just open the doors?"

"Hey, Florin old son, looks like you're elected!" grins the big man. "You know Bralin, it's not such a bad idea. That way we act as a team. Good thinking!"

He cracks his knuckles, ready to visit the Trash level.
