Time to go home

The Decision. (DM Jim)
Monday October 27th, 2003 5:19:02 PM

After a search of the bodies and gathering the gems that were left behind by the elementals, you gather stuff together to leave. The arrows and bolts look to be of good quality.

It takes a little while to dig out Leets, but with his head above the ground he has no worries of suffocation. Soon he is free and moving about.

There is nothing of obvious use to help in getting out of the swamp any faster that you can see. After a little coaxing you get Vrurt to come out with her child and make ready to leave. She still seems a little reluctant to leave and you can tell that she is still conflicted with the idea of her child.

Now you must make a decision on where to go...back to Vrurt's village...to the port of Castle Violet...to Imod City, the place that the Mailed Fist was traveling to??

Vasch continues to dig out Leets with the others.

Kenisha and Domisha  d20+5=17
Monday October 27th, 2003 11:06:19 PM

Kenisha tearfully gathers her daughter into a hug as she emerges from the hiding place. Turning to Vrurt she says, "The choice is yours, Sister Taur, but remember, you make the choice for two lives. Two lives given to this world by the Love of Domi. As for me and Domisha, we will return to Heartshold Isle by way of our boat waiting at Castle Violet. Please come with us."

(diplomacy roll=17)

Taric
Tuesday October 28th, 2003 1:39:14 AM

Taric helps with digging out Leets, knowing as nobody else how it feels to be stuck in the earth. After they get out Leets he heads over to Kenisha and awaits the signal to retreat anywhere they feel like it's safest to go. In his heart Taric hopes that Vrurt will choose Hearthold Keep, knowing that the children will be safe in there.

Kanchana  d20+7=16
Tuesday October 28th, 2003 2:34:34 AM

Kanchana first finishes digging Leets out and helps collect the loot. When is it all piled into one pile she will cast detect magic on the loot, concentraing on deciphering the information for as long as she can.

************************************************

"When things are calm and the children are safe at Hearthold Keep we should get all of this identified; if it is indeed magical. Also I still would like to procure another Healing Wand for us; instead of relying on only my private wand..." She looks at the arrows and bolts, "who uses bows and who uses crossbows among us?"

Kanchana will also help carry the loot (at least all of the light stuff). She then walks over to Kenisha and Domisha. She sits and waits for the others (particularly Brahmah and Kenisha) to discuss were they will go.

(Casts Detect Magic on the Loot, Concentration 16)

((OOC: I will volunteer to take anything we want to sell to the Catacombs, but identifying should be done by us otherwise it costs 110gp per item!))

Brahmah (29 of 70hps), Bull's Str [5mins]?, Improved Evasion?, Barkskin +2, Resist Fire?
Tuesday October 28th, 2003 2:37:59 AM

Knowing Leets is in trouble and it's going to take awhile to to extract him, he gets an idea.

"Does anyone have a potion of Gaseous Form or something like it?! We free his head, he drinks it an he's free! Right? Taric, can you teleport him free? Kenisha?"

"We need to get out of here SOON!!"

Brahmah
Tuesday October 28th, 2003 2:43:12 AM

OOC: Great idea Eunice.

"I'll carry the rest."

Leets
Tuesday October 28th, 2003 3:33:26 AM

Seeing that things have calmed down outside, Leets breathes deeply as he see the light of the sun.

"A strange experience it is to be buried alive, my friends...Thank you all for your help!"

Still digging himself, Leets thinks of the situation, and where the Chosen should go.

"Brahmah, as I already told you, I would prefer go back to the Hearthold Keep. There, we can call for Domi's clergymen to gather and talk. What do you think?"

Once he is free, Leets will help to carry anything needed, since he's not too much wounded.

Tuesday October 28th, 2003 4:30:53 AM

"Yes Leets you did say that. I agree. I just want to get away from this island. No offense to the dryads hospitality, but I promised we wouldn't soil her ground with blood! I failed to keep that promise..."
He checks for the amber piece in his pocket.
He shakes his head.
"I have always said Hearthold will be the best place for the Unitaurs."

Paw'caw(Ceil)
Tuesday October 28th, 2003 10:07:54 AM

Paw'caw at her masters command, flys of to a low branch and watches to young unitaurs play around their mothers.

Managram(Ceil)
Tuesday October 28th, 2003 10:29:31 AM

OOC: DM Jim, Managram is a Celestial Dog and can fazes from one place to another with his master or another person in tow. I hoppe you let me do it here.

Managran sencing that his master is in trouble will jump out of the hole(where the bone is), take one last look at the juicy bone and Fazes into Leets arms*blink*. Then fazes to the serface with leet in tow*Blink* Then still in his masters arms, Lick Leets face!.

Vasch
Tuesday October 28th, 2003 10:50:02 AM

"I definitely want off this island." Vasch says while he continues to dig.

"Don't like the name 'unitaurs'. I'd like to think that the little ones are no different than any of us." He say at Leets but it seems to be more of thinking aloud. "I like just plain 'taurs' since that's what we all are- no liontaur, centaur, or minotaur; just taurs...just a thought..." He continues to dig.

Flat-top
Tuesday October 28th, 2003 11:06:10 AM

"No, the fighter was dead when we drag him onto the Fays island, saving her, the creatures and the magic this Island has, so cheer up Captain.
I aggree there's no use going back to the village, only death is waiting there, To go to Imod. That where the Mail Fist have a big barracks there, we would have a warm welcome there. No! I think it should be to the boat at Castle Violet and to safty of Heartshold Island and wait till they all see these children.
Lets look to see if we can make a raft for the Children and the stuff we have to bring along."
Flat-top will go to see if they can find wood for a raft.

To the Port. (DM Jim)
Tuesday October 28th, 2003 2:48:21 PM

Managarm looks to his bone and then to his master, back to the bone and then with a whine leaves it to help his master out. He easily has him out of the ground in a minute and licking his face. Several whines accompany it about the bone as it seems he wants to take it along too.

Brahmah looks for his piece of amber and finds it missing. Anyone else that cares to look will find thiers also misisng. The leaves of the great tree seem to shake in laughter, but it could be the wind.

Flat-top is able to locate some large trees that have fallen over sometime and would make an admirable raft (craft, shipmaking DC 14 or survival DC 18). He will of course have to have some help in getting them gathered.

Kanchana takes the time to check over the loot after it is gathered into a pile. Within a few minutes she has detect magic working and seeing if anything is magical in the pile.

Vrurt looks to The Chosen and gives them a small smile. "I will go with you...there is no life for me or my baby here." You see a pained expression pass over her face as she says this and she begins to cry.

[Kanchana can put the following into a separate pile as it radiates magic.]

[potions(10), wand(2), strand of beads, ring, bag, gem, arrows(6), scrolls(2)]

Kanchana
Tuesday October 28th, 2003 5:03:54 PM

Kanchana splits the loot into magical and mundane piles. She collects the magical pile and says,"I will carry this lot. When we are all safe back at Hearthold Keep then Kenisha, Taric and I can identify these magical items."
Kanchana gets ready to head for where ever the Chosen decide to go.
"I would take the rear and cover our back, but I failed so utterly miserably at it last time that I dare not make the same mistake twice. Brahmah let me know where I will be most useful."

((OOC: Kanchana will carry: potions(10), wand(2), strand of beads, ring, bag, gem, arrows(6), scrolls(2)in a seperate bag within her haversack.))

Brahmah (29 of 70hps), Barkskin +2

Tuesday October 28th, 2003 6:32:00 PM

Brahmah smiles at the comment from Flat-top, feeling better now.

"Vrurt, can you fight? Perhaps you can use the minotaur sized armor and weapons, just in case. Your unprotected."

"To the Keep. We go to the Keep."

"Your right Flat-top, we should avoid the Castle Violet. But we might not be able too. A hand built ship will take far too long, we need to get back to the Keep, ASAP."

"Kanchana, you remain in the healer capacity. Only fight if you need to or want to."

Flat-top  d20=15 d20=19
Tuesday October 28th, 2003 7:05:12 PM

"I found some down trees over there (Flat-top points over his shoulder with his thumb)that can be used for a raft, I'm not a carpenter but I'll do my best." Flat-top takes out of his saddle bag a leather halter and some rope, he wears the halter and goes to a fallen tree (about 10' long), ties one end of the rope to some strong branches and the other end to his haulter and starts dragging(like a horse dragging a plow) to edge of the stream.
He's about to go back to get another log, when he spots Managram looking into a hole then go back to Leets. Flat-top will go to the hole and pick up the big bone and then give it to Kanchana "Here is a bone for Managram, he deserve a reward, as for Paw'caw I'll catch a fish before we leave." He winks at Druid.

Paw'caw(Ceil)
Tuesday October 28th, 2003 7:11:47 PM

Paw'caw watches the children at play and keeps unwanted animals away.

Managram(Ceil)
Tuesday October 28th, 2003 7:17:13 PM

Managram follows his master every where, BUT he still dreams of his bone.

Kenisha
Tuesday October 28th, 2003 11:36:17 PM

Kenisha will help where she can to make the raft while keep ing an eye on the children and watching for danger.

Taric
Wednesday October 29th, 2003 1:18:18 AM

Taric nods at Kanchana's suggestion of identifying the items themselves in the safety of Hearthold Keep. He will help Flat-Top as much as he can with building the raft, ready to leave this island as soon as possible.

Brahmah
Wednesday October 29th, 2003 2:13:25 AM

"I really don't think rat is a good idea. Besides, the wemics among us have a hard enough time on sailing ships. Rafts are unstable."

Leets
Wednesday October 29th, 2003 3:59:04 AM

Cleaning the mud and soil on his body, Leets strokes Managarm to thank him.

"You did a very good job my dog! Here is for you!"

Leets will take some dried meat in his backpack and will give a big part to Managarm.
Hearing Taric's words as he does so, he nods.

"You are right Taric, if those children have to unite our races as they grow up, it would be better to call them Taurs as well as we do for ourselves..."

"Oh, it looks like Flat-Top needs help. Flat-Top, looks like you miss your boat!"

Brahmah
Wednesday October 29th, 2003 5:59:58 AM

Brahmah shakes his head.

"Flat-top, I really don't think the raft is a good idea."

He walks over to his tanglefoot bag sitting by the bridge and puts it back in his pack.

"I've thought about it. I have the combat positions for each of us.

Kanchana is going to act as our healer.
Kenisha will be support offensive spells.
Taric will be support to enhance the fighters, and distracting opponents.
Flat-top, Vasch, Leets and myself are to be in melee.
As for archers or long range combat, does anyone have a suggestion.
We need to avoid the inconsistant tactics in combat."

Brahmah
Wednesday October 29th, 2003 6:03:18 AM

"Aw yes, Kenisha will also call retreats. Vasch, any ideas about combat?"

Flat-top
Wednesday October 29th, 2003 8:05:55 AM

Flat-top drag another log to the stream, "Your right, Captain. This raft is to go down stream to the beach, from the beach we can go to the port to take to boat Home. the raft would never stand up to the waves in the seas.
As far as Battle tacticks, again your right. Us Fighters are too close to the battle, we cannot see whos down or baddly injured, we consentrate too hard on the fight. It's a very good idea to have the magic users to make a call of retreat, because they can see the way the battle is going. A good example was the Mail Fist Microban, when he saw that the elementals were going down, He called a retreat of his archer and his cleric. He was not about to risk every one he came here with, he's going for reinforcements, he'll be back and we'll be gone. We have time, a little time to get to a boat, if we hurry.
Now let's get these little Taurs to the Keep."

Kanchana
Wednesday October 29th, 2003 9:34:23 AM

Kanchana listens to the others talking. She nods at Brahmah's words about herself and combat. "About the raft... An adult or two and the cubs could stay on the raft and rest. This way the cubs do not have to strain to keep up the pace or be carried; we will move faster that way. If the raft moves quickly enough then the rest of us can pace the raft by following the river bank. The raft wouldn't have to be huge then. And a little run never hurt anyone!" Kanchana smiles at Flat-top.

Her smile slowly fades as she thinks about the combat related issues. "Another thing... It is fine the way that any future combat has been planned." Kanchana clears her throat apprehensively. "I have some suggestions though... First of all if we can pick the field of battle then we should have everyone who can use a bow and/or offensive spells use them first; a volley or so. I think an injured enemy might think twice about closing for melee." She glances at the fighters, her nervousness showing through her facade a bit. "Also I cannot be everywhere at once. It might be an idea to fight with prudence, to not charge into battle without someone to cover your back." Kanchana's words hang in the air. She looks at the cubs and thinks about how close some of her companions came to dying in her opinion.

Vasch
Wednesday October 29th, 2003 2:31:40 PM

"I agree with Kanchana. I think for sure those that can use a bow should have one. We got beaten by range fire. I know there isn't as much glory in range fire, but if we can keep the enemy's heads down until the brawn engages... As for retreat, anyone that sees a threat of that level, calls it. If you see it" Refering to Brahmah, "Call it out. Same with anyone."

"As for myself I can handle myself, but I'm a support combatant. I use position to get the upperhand and fall opponents. I'm not bad with a bow. It's my prefered form of combat."

Rafting to the Port?? (DM Jim)
Wednesday October 29th, 2003 3:37:21 PM

Everyone discusses over the ideas of combat and how to be most effective, complement the others. The plans are formed and with luck will keep The Chosen true. The loot is gathered and stored for future identification.

Vrurt looks to The Chosen and shakes her head. "I can fight but will only do so to protect my baby...I can guard the children though." She takes one of the morningstars but no armor.

The raft is continued to be built, despite Brahmah's protest of it taking too much time. Several of the large logs have been brought down to the water and stuff to attach the logs together is brought out.

[craft, shipmaking DC 14 or survival DC 18 to make the ship. Rolls can be modified by +1 for anyone that has craft, shipmaking. It will take about a half and hour to put it together.]

Brahmah (29 of 70hps), Barkskin +2  d20+4=18 d20+3=20
Wednesday October 29th, 2003 6:03:30 PM

Brahmah looks on as the discussion about the raft and tactics take place.

"Flat-top, I know I didn't voice my opinion correctly. The raft requires wood. The dryad did help us and she deserves thanks. Cutting the surrounding trees is not appropriate. But I agree with the reasoning for the raft, continue." He begins to help Flat-top.(Survival 18, Pro. Sailor 20)

He nods at Kanchana and Vasch's comments.

"Yes. The combat was bad, their archers pinned us down and cornered us. We weren't expecting that. On the other hand, I'd like to point out that it was a VERY uncoventional combat anyway. Not all combats we've fought have been on a small island, where the only way on or off is across a small bridge, heading for the opponents.
Most have gone alot smoother."
He smiles.
"Most fights just happen. There's no way we can 'choose' where they'll be."
He notices Kanchana's worry about the 'prudence of combat'.
"I don't charge blindly in unless my beliefs are challenged. I agree that they're challenged frequently, but it's my duty to protect the Taur children, Unitaurs, Taurlings, whoever they are.
I'd also like to say, dearest Warden of the Wood, that, had I NOT blocked the bridge, blood would have spilt on the island and we might just have been captured after all, along with the children."
He winks at her.
"I am a warrior for Domi first and a leader second. What he says, goes."

He pauses.
"When we can get the items identified and/or sold, I suggest those of us without ranged weaponry buy some. I know I will. If fact, I have JUST the thing in mind."

He goes back to helping Flat-top.
"Kanchana is going to act as our healer, but we try to avoid melee intitially so her skills WON'T be needed."
He winks at her again.
"Kenisha will be support offensive spells, begining volley of magic at the spellcasters or archers. She may also point out tactics or errors.
Taric will be support to enhance the fighters, and distract opponents with illusions.
Flat-top, Leets and myself are to be in melee, only after a hail of arrows and magic.
As for archers, Vasch remains back as we enter combat, firing at the most viable and opposing targets (clerics, wizards, casters).
And everyone can call for retreat or regrouping, however, the call has to be made with good judgement."

He nods to Vrurt, "Okay."

Kenisha and Domisha
Wednesday October 29th, 2003 8:48:22 PM

Kenisha nods at Brahmah's suggestions for future combats, "Just remembder, a Silence Spell can be a very effective way to neutralize our ability to communicate. But I think your ideas are a good starting point."

Taric
Thursday October 30th, 2003 3:29:18 AM

Taric nods at Brahmah's suggestions for their next battles. Hopefully there wouldn't be many, but on the other hand not many understood the will of Domi, so it was almost inevitable.

"We'll have much to learn, perfectioning our way as a team. But only experience will actually guide us."

Taric then thinks back to the battle and recalls the botls of electricity used by Kenisha. And the missiles of pure energy that brought down the elementals. A destructive force, that was for sure, but maybe it was a needed destruction. Taric keeps on thinking, getting all confused. He shakes his head and continues with helping building the raft. There had to be a better time to think about conflicting issues somewhere in the near future.

Leets
Thursday October 30th, 2003 3:47:42 AM

"I would prefer not to seea nother battle against Taurs Brahmah...Who knows, when the wise clergymen of Domi come to the Keep, maybe it will be one more step on our quest?"

"However, if a battle happens again, I will follow you. I'm not that bad with javelins, and I can make some myself before I find something more efficient...As for the melee, I took this when I disarmed one of the soldier."

Leets shows a morningstar, and looks at it more closely...

Flat-top  d20=16
Thursday October 30th, 2003 6:56:18 AM

As Flat-top weaves some thick vines to lashes the logs together, he tell Brahmah "If the Mail Fist tell the villagers of our survival, I hope they stop and think of we told them. But I don't think they will. As for the log I'm using, they are all down dead trees and I did not cut any living ones, maybe before we leave we could plant some saplings as a thank you for helping us. I do like this dryad, may Domi smile on her island.
All in all, I think we did well. We had to battle, we did what we came here for and now we go back home to the safty of our Island."

Paw'caw(Ceil)
Thursday October 30th, 2003 7:03:34 AM

Paw'caw plays with the little taurs, she pick up a branch that the little ones thoses for Managram to fetch (but She get there first). Then she drops the stick at the babies hooves, Flies to a lower branch waiting to do it all over again.

Managram
Thursday October 30th, 2003 7:13:07 AM

Managram sit at the hooves of the little Taurs, when they throw the stick, he run after it, BUT that bird scoop it up first, *Bark* *Grrr!* *Bark* he barks at the bird.

OOC: I wonder what he's trying to tell the bird?

Kanchana  d20+10=18 d20+13=15
Thursday October 30th, 2003 7:51:19 AM

Kanchana takes Brahmah's winking in stride figuring that it is just friendly and encouraging. However she blushes beet-red at what he says. She claps her hand to her mouth and shakes her head. Kanchana is certain that she really put her foot in it this time.
In a very embarrassed tone of voice Kanchana exclaims, "Oh by Father Tomi! I truly, honestly did not mean what I said as a personal affort to you or your tactics Brahmah! I honestly wasn't thinking of anyone or anything in particular. I am glad that you held the bridge. I didn't mean to berate you or your actions..." She looks at the ground as she says, "Now I feel horrible. I am so sorry!"
With that said she walks off a little ways to be by herself until her embarrassment; and her very obvious blush, subsides. In fact she decides to see if she can find any more useful plants in the area before departing. She figures that she has a little time to do this before departing because she can't build boats or haul heavy logs anyway.

(Looking for useful plants using: Druid Ability: Nature Sense, Knowledge Nature 18, Survival 15)

The Raft Coming Together. (DM Jim)
Thursday October 30th, 2003 3:24:19 PM

Tactics are discussed by the group as they continue to work on the raft.

It takes some twenty to twenty-five minutes to get a servicable raft to be used. After a few failed attempts to get it to float, it is finally ready. It is just big enough for three full grown taurs and the two young ones.

A search of the area by Kanchana turns up some more grass that will settle stomaches. It also turns up some wild onions, potatoes and mushrooms.

Leets finds that the morningstar is just that, a plain morningstar as Kanchana turns her magical sight on it.

Getting those onto the raft that is possible with the kids, you start off down the tributary.

Brahmah (29 of 70hps)
Thursday October 30th, 2003 4:11:30 PM

"Kanchana, you've been in the trees TOO long. No need to apologize, I do get hurt way too often for my taste."
Brahmah bursts out laughing at her red face he can make out through her fur.
Then a painful memory returns, he reaches up and touchs what remains of his left ear.

The raft ready, Brahmah suggests that the two mothers and their children, plus Flat-top take the raft, while the rest run along on the shore and guide it.

Flat-top
Thursday October 30th, 2003 7:48:26 PM

"Well, this is the best I can do." With the help of the male taurs, they push the raft into the water. "It Floats!" they cheer. "Now I'll test it to see if it will fall apart." Flat-top steps on the raft and it holds tight.

Flat-top will go with Kanchana and look for a long pole, to push the raft along.

Kenisha & Domisha
Thursday October 30th, 2003 11:21:38 PM

Once Flat-top has the raft ready and tested, Kenisha will help Vrurt, her child and Domisha onto to the raft.

Domisha thinks the raft is lots of fun and starts bouncing and giggling, much to her mother's dismay. Kenisha tries to quiet the little one, but only succeeds in quieting her down a bit.

Brahmah
Friday October 31st, 2003 12:29:14 AM

"Flat-top, find a couple poles. One might break."

Taric
Friday October 31st, 2003 1:25:37 AM

Taric follows along quietly, thinking about the art and the role it might play in lives around the world. For good and for bad. The conflicting feelings about destruction and beauty come around again and this time Taric keeps on pondering the thoughts of desctructive art and energy. He knows he killed before and realizes it is not about the killing. He pains his brains to find out now that he has stumbled upon the issue what exactly is bothering him about the art and desctruction.

Kanchana
Friday October 31st, 2003 1:26:53 AM

Kanchana puts the grass, onions, potatos and mushrooms away in her bag for the moment. Dinner will have to wait. She helps Flat-top find two long, study poles outs of dead wood.
Kanchana just has to laugh at Brahmah's comment about her staying in the trees for too long, "Yes Brahmah I have had a tendency to understand plants and trees better than people at times."

Leets
Friday October 31st, 2003 3:25:37 AM

Since Flat-Top is testing the raft, Leets will answer to Brahmah's orders and search for a couple of poles. Doing son he will also gather some pieces of wood that would do good javelins.

"Managarm! What are you doing?!? Don't bother Pahcaw nor the little Taurs, will you! Come with me if you want to find pieces of wood..."

Brahmah
Friday October 31st, 2003 3:46:09 AM

"Kanchana, can you use those skills right now and speak with Pah'caw for me? Ask her if she'll look for the two legged humans and see if their heading back this way in numbers. Ask her to stay out of sight and follow them if possible. If she's willing."

Managram(Ceil)
Friday October 31st, 2003 4:30:37 AM

Managram stop barking, listens to what Leets has to tell him. *Wood?? OH! Yes sticks, Yes master want to play fetch! OH! Boy!*

Managran will go and follow his master, BUT before he leaves the dog will throw some dirt toward Paw'caw way as if to say *So much for you, I'm going to have my own game with my master#.

Paw'caw(Ceil)  d20+15=33
Friday October 31st, 2003 4:43:57 AM

OOC: Spot ac33

Paw'caw look to the back side of the dog and really want to pinch it, BUt she hears her master say her name. She flies to him, resting on his shoulder, listening to what he's telling her. She takes off into the blue cloudless sky, flies as high as she can go, making lazy eight trying to spot some two legged Taurs in groups, all the time keeping track of her master where abouts.

Rafting. (DM Jim)
Friday October 31st, 2003 3:37:32 PM

Having two poles that will service the raft well, you soon set it off down the waterway. Pah'caw makes an aerial survey of the surrounding area, looking for two legged taurs.

After about an hour of travel you all are starting to feel a little more tired, the fight having taken it's toll. Pah'caw finds nothing in the area during her search. Vrurt rocks her baby to sleep and even little Domisha falls asleep on the raft, having grown a little bored with it.

Brahmah (29 off 70)

"Let's make camp."

Flat-top
Saturday November 1st, 2003 3:55:32 AM

Flat-top uses the last of his rope to tie the raft to a tree." Just as I though. Theres a slight curent pulling on the raft, I felt it last time I jump into the water. This mean this stream will lead into a larger body of water. Wheather it's the ocean or a lake, Who knows? I hope It's not White Waters??" Flat-top will keep a dagger on him.(in cast he needs to cut the rope on the raft.)

Kanchana  d20+10=30 d20+13=25
Saturday November 1st, 2003 12:48:03 PM

Kanchana feels mentally and physically worn out. She is overjoyed at hearing the magic words "let's make camp". Kanchana checks the area for any more medicinal or edible plants. With that done she drinks some water from the river, washes and refills her waterskins and cleans the veggies she found earlier. Kanchana skewers the veggies onto a stick and builds a proper firepit with dry sticks and tinder.
She will roast the veggies to supplement the field-rations that will most likely be eaten tonight. She will evenly distribute the roasted veg between all of the Taurs.
Kanchana yawns hugely in a very leonine, very unfeminine manner and asks, "anyone have any wounds they want tended before I go to sleep? I cannot go on any further and I have no spells left!"
Kanchana adds, "also I think all of the spellcasters should be exempt from watch for tonight; if it is possible. We need to regain all of our spells." If given the chance then Kanchana will forego making anything useful out of the medicinal plants, or looking at the magical properties of the loot tonight and just sleep like a rock!

(Looking for useful plants using: Druid Ability: Nature Sense, Knowledge Nature 30 (Natural 20 rolled!), Survival 25)

Vasch (8 of 32)
Saturday November 1st, 2003 2:28:29 PM

Also exhausted, Vasch moves around the campsite looking for a good place to crash. Kanchana's comment catches his attention but after thinking about it "I'm too tired..." he says to himself.

"Have no problem with that." he says with regard to Kanchana's talk of letting the spellcasters sleep through the night. "If no one minds I'm going to crash and take a watch later in the night."

Kenisha and Domisha
Saturday November 1st, 2003 10:25:10 PM

Domisha, having already fallen asleep on the raft, is carefully moved to solid ground by her mother; who takes great pains to not wake her daughter.

"I'll try feeding Domisha right before I go to bed, but she'll probably wake me up in the middle of the night anyways. That being the case, don't rely on me being able to cast much tomorrow." Kenisha tells everone at dinner. "I still have a little magic left in me, but I used up most of it back there."

Taric
Sunday November 2nd, 2003 1:33:09 AM

Taric nods at Kanchana's suggestio. He feels worn out as well.
"I too used about everything I had. I'll need to rest a lot, although I'd like to partake in the duties as well. But for now I think it would be best if we all get back to full magical strength>"

Taric finds a suitable place to rest, puts his head down and sleeps almost before even hitting the ground.

Leets
Monday November 3rd, 2003 3:06:20 PM

While the camp is made, Leets offers what remains of water from his barrel. Near the river, he gathers some pieces of reed. Trying to make some kind of pipe, he mange to produce a couple of right notes, but no more...
The Centaur sadly thinks of his dead friend Zeoll, who fell during a harsh battle - like the one the Chosen just experienced. He smiles as everybody rest in the camp, alive and safe...

A peaceful night of sleep. (DM Jim)
Monday November 3rd, 2003 3:58:04 PM

Everyone prepares for bed as they pull the raft to shore. Plans are made to stand watch, though the spellcasters maybe exempt. Kanchana goes on another search of the area for herbs and hits the jackpot as she finds the following....mushrooms, carrots, potatoes, onions, water leets and to her surprise apples.

Everyone sleeps soundly that night and even Kenisha is not disturbed by her daughter in the night. After a check on her daughter she finds her just fine, Vrurt sleeping next to her and her own child morningstar clutched in her hand.

Everyone wakes feeling loads better than yesterday, though you are still a little sore. You make your morning preparations and then will soon be back on the road.

[Will need spells lists again, please.]

Vasch  d20+9=24
Monday November 3rd, 2003 9:51:59 PM

"Man could I use a few more of those." Vasch thinks to himself refering to the nights sleep. He finds he's still a little tired after yesterday's grueling day.

"Ohhhh..." He says as if he's had a realization fumbling around his gear. "I still had a fish left," not finding it anywhere in his equipment, "...that I lost during the fight yesterday..." His voice trails off in obvious disappointment.

He looks up to see if any one else is up as well and then decides to look around the area for anything edible. [Survival DC24]

Kenisha and Domisha
Monday November 3rd, 2003 10:32:48 PM

Kenisha awoke with a start as she realized that it was morning. 'Domisha! Why didn't she wake me during the night? Is there something wrong? She must be famished!'

But no, her daughter was sleeping peacefully next to the other child. Kenisha helped with making breakfast and clean up their camp.

Sometime when she could ask without everyone else overhearing, Kenisha asks Vrurt if her child had woken her up in the middle of the night?

[ooc- Sorcerers don't prepare spell lists. What they know is what they can cast! Neener Neener! ;) ]

Brahmah (43 of 70)  d20+1=5 d20+1=8
Tuesday November 4th, 2003 12:22:38 AM

(OOC: Don't forget, everyone healed up during the night, naturally. One point per level.)

The ranger's head never hit his bed roll. He fell asleep around the dinner fire.

He wakes up, first looking at the Children, then picking the pebbles out of his cheek and brushing dirt out of the fur.

He prepares his Entangle spell and watchs Pah'caw as she eats a recent catch.(this isn't a Pah'caw post)

"We should get a move on as soon as possible."

He taps Vasch with his wand. (Heals 5)
Then he taps himself. (Heals 8)

Kanchana
Tuesday November 4th, 2003 1:53:49 AM

Kanchana sleeps hard all night and gets up relatively early and first memorizes her spells from her spellbook. Then she stokes the fire and put some of the roasted veg from yesterday near the fire to reheat alittle. Kanchana adds last nights veg to the fry. She cleans some of the other veg, cuts it up and fries it on a flat thin rock she found near the river (yes she washed the rock first before cooking on it). After cooking the fry she portions it out to the Chosen and children; along with one apple for everyone. Kanchana eats some cold field-rations and her portion of the fry.

Taric
Tuesday November 4th, 2003 2:31:12 AM

Taric wakes up after a night of sleep better than in the past few days. Feeling a lot better he starts studying his spellbook. When he is offered breakfast, he thanks for it and only takes an apple for the good taste of it. When he is finished studying he packs up his gear and stands ready to go, almost impatient to leave this island.

OOC:
same memorized spells. The list is noted in my charsheet. If needed I can send you.

Flat-top
Tuesday November 4th, 2003 8:23:52 AM

Waking from his sleep,Flat-top goes to the treasure pile and get the bone that Managram dough so hard for. Give the dog his reward "Here Managran, You earn this." Now Flat-top will look after the raft and the power of the stream. then after all this is done, He'll have breakfast with all the other.

Taking Kanchana saide, "Your not only Beautiful But a wonderful cook! Thank you,"

Managran(Ceil)
Tuesday November 4th, 2003 8:26:02 AM

Managran sits beside Leets and naws away at the bone.

Leets
Tuesday November 4th, 2003 9:39:35 AM

"Thank you Kanchana for the food. I think the soldiers of Miroband could have killed us by starvation if you weren't there...More seriously, you were of great help during the battle, I know you will do much for the Holy Quest Domi gave us..."

Leets then plays for some time with Managarm, trying to take the bone from the dog or throwing pieces of wood in the water. However, as soon as the party can go, he will follow...

(OOC Spell list: Bless Weapon. Jim, you also wrote that Leets had a 2nd level spell and a 3rd level spell - could this be true?)

Moving on to the port. (DM Jim)
Tuesday November 4th, 2003 3:46:59 PM

Everything is prepared the next morning, with an uneventful night. Vasch is up early to have a look around and see if he can find anything of use. Unfortunately he only finds the areas where Kanchana had foraged earlier.

Vrurt looks to Kenisha and just smiles. "No the little one did not fuss last night or wake me." She is now feeding her baby though and with a thought she smiles again. "Maybe it had something to do with the dryad and her magic yesterday." She is soon done as well and ready to go.

Those that were on the raft yesterday are back on it again today. It is a nice cool morning and the bugs seem to have found someplace else to go or bother than you. Pah'caw makes her ariel survey of the area as he make your way, looking to see what she can see.

[Leets those are bonus spells so you only get them once you can cast a spell of that level, sorry for any confusion.]

[If everyone does not mind I would still like spell list from those that need to memorize please.]

[Pah'caw will spot a large humanoid shape moving about 100 yards from The Chosen. They will cross paths further up as the man is traveling diagonal to you.]

Kanchana  d20+4=15 d20+5=16 d20+3=11
Tuesday November 4th, 2003 7:14:04 PM

Kanchana gathers together any remnants of food and carefully packs it away for a quick lunch; she mutters to herself "waste not... want not...". Kanchana spreads the ashes of the fire and throws dirt on the pit before placing the sod back in place over the erstwhile firepit.
Kanchana smiles at the thank you comments she hears from the others. She blushes at Flat-top's comment! "Ahem... thank you all. I do what I can to be useful. As we all do!" Kanchana looks quickly to Flat-top and flashes him a warm smile. She looks at Leets and smiling widely says, "We all have our part to play. We are all valuable for what we can accomplish; both as individuals and as a group. The warriors and spellcasters protect, and you remind us of our faith and commitment Leets. You are a good guide," Kanchana is being very serious. "Me... *chuckles* I cook and patch us up!", but she can't resist joking about herself!
She quickly collects her gear and gets ready to move out. As she walks along the river's edge she looks and listens for things that are not quite right.

Kenisha and Domisha  d20+4=23
Tuesday November 4th, 2003 9:32:39 PM

Domisha is not as energetic to day on the raft, but then it's old news to her. She and Vrurt's little one satisfy themselves with tossing pebbles and branches into the water that they collected that morning.

As this activity isn't making any more noise than Flat-top's pole, Kenisha is content to let them play; keeping an eye on them in case they get too close to the edge of the raft. She also keeps an eye out for trouble in the surrounding area.

(Spot check= 23)

Paw'caw(Ceil)  d20+15=33
Tuesday November 4th, 2003 10:39:54 PM

After finishing her fist and her master to start marching again. She takes to the blue skies, making her lazy eight patern again high above the ground. Then she spots a two legged taur, coming their way. "Caw Caw" And goes into a circle pattern "Caw Caw".

Flat-top
Tuesday November 4th, 2003 10:53:27 PM

Flat-top takes his breakfast from Kanchana, looking into her eyes he whispers to her, "I'm glad Domi sent you to us, your just wonderful." After the meal, he packs, helps the mothers and children onto the raft, off they go. Flat-top look to the skies and yells to Brahmah "Hey! Captain, What's up with your bird?"

Managram(Ceil)
Tuesday November 4th, 2003 10:59:41 PM

Managram wakes and chews on his bone. follows his master where ever he goes But he knows that even thow Leets has his prize bone in his pach, when it come to the end og the day, he'll have his beloveded bone back.

Taric
Wednesday November 5th, 2003 12:35:00 AM

Taric follows along, his thoughts lost in the conflicting discussion going on in his own mind. The weight of the mission Domi gave them might be vital for the result of the discussion, so realizes Taric. But for now Taric knows he'll have to reason more to figure it out...

Brahmah (43 of 70)
Wednesday November 5th, 2003 12:39:33 AM

Brahmah looks up at Pah'caw. Noticing her mood and demeanor, whatever it is, can't be good.

"Chosen, I believe Pah'caw sees another... traveler, maybe another of Mirobands brood, perhaps a scout. Archers, be ready. Take them alive, I have manicles in my pack."

Vasch  d20+9=28 d20+9=10
Wednesday November 5th, 2003 12:39:43 AM

The easy pace at which the Chosen move this day is a welcome change from the several before. the pleasent day has lifted Vasch spirit as does the thought of visiting this keep the other speak of.

"Many thanks, Tomi." Vasch thinks as he picks his trail along the bank. He finds himself lost in his thoughts and of the day and of the possibilty that the little ones hold for them all.

Leets
Wednesday November 5th, 2003 3:18:52 AM

Leets throws a wood stick away while they wlak, and smiles as Managarm runs after it.

"Taric...You seem to be worried...I just want to let you know that you're not alone in this quest. The Chosen never let one of them behind, and by the holy will of Domi it shall never happen."

"And if it's about the calves, we'll have answers soon enough. I trust the higher clergy of Domi, and I'm sure they will find a reasonnable issue to all that. And as I said sooner, maybe it could lead us to more peaceful days...I mean, for the whole Taur people..."

Chance Encounter. (DM Jim)
Wednesday November 5th, 2003 4:09:59 PM

You have been following the river now for some time and you notice that Pah'caw is getting closer to you with her circling. You have prepared yourselves for the worst and to capture this person.

You get to the point that you would meet at just a little ahead of whoever it is that travels. With a last look in that direction you make ready to make a fighting retreat, keeping those on the raft that need to be there.

It is then that you hear the crashing of someone moving in the underbrush of the swamp. Out of the brush appears a male minotaur, not young but not overly old for his race either. He carries several slashes from swords across his body, along with two spear punctures. He gasps as he looks to you and then collapses forward onto the ground, it is then that you see six arrows sticking out of his back.

[Got spell list Kanchana.]

Kanchana  d20+11=21
Wednesday November 5th, 2003 4:49:15 PM

Kanchana stands transfixed watching the Minotaur crash from the underbrush towards the Chosen. She hadn't bothered to ready any weapons, instead thinking to rely on a spell or two first just in case who or what Pah'caw saw had ill intent.
Kanchana cries out in dismay as she watches the unknown male fall over from the exertion and the grievous wounds. Throwing all caution to the wind Kanchana reacts instinctively and runs over to the fallen stranger and takes her healer's kit from her Haversack. She immediately begins to check his vital signs and to carefully take out the arrows so she can stabilize him and get him bandaged up.
Kanchana doesn't think to wait for any orders from either Brahmah or Kenisha, and she has completely not thought about the fact that this might be a trap. She sees only an injured person that has to be taken care of. Kanchana will accept the repercussions of her actions later.

(Heal check 21 to stabilize the Minotaur and take out the arrows)

Brahmah (43 of 70)
Wednesday November 5th, 2003 6:54:16 PM

Begining to gesture for Kanchana, before he can, she goes off into the growth and helps the badly wounded Taur.

He calls for Pah'caw. "Bird, there was only him?"

He rushes to her and his side. "Three guesses why he might hold such damage. One, he's one fro the village who tried to help our escape. Two, he's someone who bothered getting inot Miroband's way. And three, my favorite, and a fact proven by Kanchana, that this area holds sway in Domi's eye and gives us yet another Chosen... I like this option." He grins, patting the taur on the shoulder.
(Assuming he's unconcious.)
"Let's treat him like Chosen until we know better." He gestures to Vasch and other archers in the party to lower their weapons.
"In his condition, he's not hurting anyone. Though, it did just cross my ind to shackle him... in case." Shaking that idea, he does what he can for Kanchana and her charge.

Paw'caw(Ceil)
Wednesday November 5th, 2003 9:10:35 PM

Paw'caw glides down in a circle motion and comes to rest on Brahmah's padded shoulder, Look at him as if saying *only one, any thing else?* she flies off and catches a fish and into a tree to eat.

Kenisha and Domisha  d20+4=20
Wednesday November 5th, 2003 9:12:27 PM

With Domisha napping at the moment, Kenisha feels a bit apprehensive as they wait for whoever or whatever the bird is tracking from the skies to appear.

Seeing Kanchana immediately leap to the Taur's aide, Kenisha calls out, "Taric, Leets! Why don't you stand guard in case whoever did this to him shows up?"

She herself stays on the raft and keeps her eyes peeled for trouble.

Managram(Ceil)
Wednesday November 5th, 2003 9:20:53 PM

Leet's throws a stick BUT this time Managram does not run after it?? the dog stand still, his nose to the underbrush. when the minotaur fall into view, the dog does not bark but creeps slowly to and sniffs the body, But if you look closely you can see his tail give a little wag.

Flat-top
Wednesday November 5th, 2003 9:38:48 PM

Is holding the raft still and starting to have a hard time holding the pole. After Brahmah talks to Kanchana, he call to the leader "Captain! Friend or Foe? The stream is getting stronger, I think the sea is close."
Flat-top turn to the mothers telling them "I think we found another Chosen? Yes! Kenisha! I think Domi sent us some help?"

Brahmah  d20+4=7

Brahmah checks for the 'Gift of Domi' most Chosen recieve. (Search 7)
Trying to bother Kanchana, he looks for the 'tell-tale signs' of Chosen on the mystery taur, not finding anything.

Leets  d20+6=14
Thursday November 6th, 2003 3:31:00 AM

"It seems to be ok Kenisha, I don't remember us shooting anubody with so many arrows...He wasn't with Miroband."

"And Managarm doesn't seem to dislike him...I good sign."

Leets begins to move in the direction of the newcomer.

"Managarm, stay near the baby, my dog!"

Leets will help Kanchana with the wounded one (heal check 14), also laying his hands on him for 10 HP.

"Hey! Lost one, come back back among us, Domi's showing you the way!"

Tender Care and a Problem. (DM Jim)
Thursday November 6th, 2003 3:45:44 PM

With the attention and healing of Kanchana and Leets the taur starts to come around. Slowly opening his eyes they settle on Kanchana and starts to try and move. His eyes are wide with fear and he seems terrified. "No...get away from me...destroyer...." He tries to get away from you by crawling as best he can, till he sees the others in the group as well then he settles some. He glances towards the nearest minotaur and then relaxes against the ground. "You are The Chosen then...no danger..." His eyes fill with tears as he starts sobbing, though he says nothing else.

There is no sound of anyone else coming this direction and you can see nothing nearby. It would appear that this minotaur fled something. One thing that disappoints you a little is that he bears no marks of being a Chosen.

[Never fear...I will be introing Gilles's character soon, just looking for a last character sheet from him is all.]

Kanchana
Thursday November 6th, 2003 7:05:40 PM

Kanchana breathes a sigh of relief and thanks Leets for lending a hand when the Minotaur stranger starts to come around. She was about to grin and give her greetings to the unknown male when she sees the unmistakable fear of her in his eyes.
When he tells her to get away and calls her a destoyer Kanchana looks profoundly hurt and saddened. She stays right where she is as he starts to crawl away towards the others. Kanchana doesn't lift a paw as he begins to sob.
She looks at Leets and says in a hurt tone of voice, "I think you should speak with him... or Brahmah should. I will stay away from that one. He has suffered enough."
Kanchana clears away her healing kit and watches the newcomer. She prays to Mother Wold and Father Tomi for the strength to not whine about healing being a thankless job!

Brahmah
Thursday November 6th, 2003 8:30:39 PM

"You are among the Chosen, but you are mistaken, she is no Destroyer, she's a healer. The best I've ever met actually. She's Kanchana, this is Leets and I'm Brahmah the Captain of the Chosen. Those ones over there are also Chosen, but you'll meet them shortly."

He glances to Kanchana and waves her back over.

"Who are you? Why do you seek us? And most importantly, how did you come to be in this condition?"

Kenisha and Domisha  d20+4=20
Thursday November 6th, 2003 11:54:50 PM

Kenisha maintains her readied stance and keeps watching the suroundings but does give Kanchana a reassuring smile and nod of approval for her so far unthanked healing.

Unless the minotaur was very loud, Domisha continues to sleep blissfully unawake of what's going on around her. Otherwise she'll wake and immediately look around for momma.

Taric
Friday November 7th, 2003 2:00:34 AM

Taric responds to Flat-Top and says:
"Well, I've got some kind of inner struggle. I always thought the magic I'm using is pure, like an art. But then again, if it is because of some silly moral reason from me that I won't use other powerful spells that might be available and some of us here might get hurt or die because of that, what good would pure art do to me?"

Taric then falls silent.

When captain Brahmah asks for attention, Taric focuses his mind, until he sees the condition the Taur is in. Nodding to Kenisha he makes sure they won't get surprised by anybody. Once in a while he takes a curious look at the unconscious Taur, wondering what his story might be.

Flat-top
Friday November 7th, 2003 4:46:29 AM

Flat-top keep the raft steady at the shore banks, he want the children to have enought sleep to keep up their energy. They are starting to show sprit when the're awake. Flat-top smiles at the sleeping duo, "Mothers they are so beautiful, when there are asleep." Flat-top winks at Kenisha.

Leets
Friday November 7th, 2003 12:28:59 PM

Leets puts a friendly hand on Kanchana's shoulder and whispers.

"Er...You know, the Minotaurs have been at war with the Centaurs for centuries, I wonder if he would talk to me more than to you...He will perhaps prefer Brahmah for the moment..."

When Brahmah introduces Leets, the Centaur paladin nods at the newcomer, and shows a golden "german" sheperd next to him.

"And this is Managarm, also a Chosen of Domi, a loyal friends who helped us often..."

An Apology. (DM Jim)
Friday November 7th, 2003 3:31:07 PM

With a look of real regret the minotaur looks to Kanchana and lowers his head. "I am sorry dear lady...my mistake...please forgive me for my outburst." He keeps his head lowered as he waits for somekind of reprimand. With a last sigh he looks up at The Chosen, tears beginning to fill his eyes again.

"The village was attack some ten hours after you left. It was a group of wemics seeking Bloran's sister for getting thier tribemate killed." He sivers as fresh memories are stired back up as he tells what he can remember. "I remember they took Bloran into the middle of the village and demanded he turn over the one who seduced thier mate. When he refused....they..they.....killed him right there. A group of us tried to save him, but we were beaten back. I was knocked out and when I came to they were gone." He looks to the sky and then back to Brahmah before he continues. "They are even now searching for Vrurt and I have been tracking them....for revenge I guess or to die."

Kanchana  d20+4=6 d20+5=22
Friday November 7th, 2003 4:57:22 PM

Kanchana reaches up and pats (in a friendly, casual manner) Leets' hand on her shoulder as she whispers, "oh yes, I had not thought of that friend. I thought only of your skill with words and people."

Kanchana starts to move towards Brahmah when the young Minotaur speaks to her. She makes a gesture and noise of dismissal towards him and says, "no worries stranger, I am not angry. Your words are forgiven and forgotten. You need not look down or be ashamed..."
As she walks past the newcomer she listens carefully to what he is saying. Kanchana is alarmed by his words. She looks straight at Brahmah and then at the raft, and back to Brahmah.
"Is there room for him to rest on the raft? We need to move; and quickly! Wemic war parties are fierce, determined and excellent trackers. They will be difficult to evade..."

Kanchana turns and crosses her arms loosely across her chest; she looks straight at the newcomer. "How long since you crossed paths with the war party Sir? Or have you only followed tracks?" Kanchana looks worried and a little lost in thought.

"Brahmah you need to ask Pah'caw to look for Wemics..." Kanchana strains to listen for out of place sounds and look for unexpected movements; knowing that Wemics are masters of stalking prey...

The Captain listens as the story is told. He decides that the Taur is far to hurt for this to be a ruse of trap. Besides, why would a minotaur help wemics on his own island? He could be charmed? Nah.

"Pah'caw, my friend, would you please keep an eye out for many large feline taurs, much like Kanchana here? They wish to hurt us. Stay out of view, don't get shot!" Ceil, would you roll Spot and Listen checks for Pah'caw?:)

"We need to move! Friend, what is your name? Can you move under your own power or do you need the raft?" He asks, rushing everyone to move out.

Taric

Taric is schocked when he hears about the events going on in the village after they left it. This was even worse than they could have imagined. Better make haste right now.

Taric will help to put the wounded Taur on the raft and then follow along as fast as he can, but mentally he prepares himself for an upcoming battle, ready to disappear from view at a moment's notice.

Flat-top will put his weapons at the end of the raft, Just before he jumps off the raft, He tells Brahmah "Make sure you trust him before he gets near the Unitaurs Babies!" then jumps off the raft.

"I'm terribly sorry for what happened at the village, but the least we can say is that Bloran got the punishment he deserved. His hybris only led him to destruction...If he had listened to us, we would have stayed at the village as well as Miroband's soldiers...Together we could have found a peaceful issue to all that..."

"I'll pray for Bloran's soul, he did some good things I heard of before this madness began, he deserved a better fate..."

Leets walks apart and prays for a couple of hours for the rest of Bloran's soul, so that Domi welcomes him in his celestial kingdom and pardon him...He is sincerely sad, but also really consider Bloran received a deserved punishment...

Running and the Stranger. (DM Jim)
Monday November 10th, 2003 4:17:03 PM

The taur looks to the group and then tries to stand, but finds his legs too wobbly. With a little assistance he is helped to the raft. Noone could find any falsehoods in what he has to say. He glances to Kanchana and smiles. "I followed only tracks..sometimes losing them for an hour at a time...then they sprung on me but did not kill me......I don't think they really cared to." He takes a place on the raft and it is immediately apparent that this taur is not threat as both children are soon seated near him. He tells them taur stories as they travel on down the river.

Pah'caw continues to scan the are for any signs of trouble as she was told by her master. Her patrol is uneventful for some time before she flies back to report of a single taur some twenty feet ahead *exact details only with a speak with animals spell*

Sneaking on ahead on foot as the raft slowly follows along you come upon a slightly funny scene. You see a young taur sitting in the grass near the water, lost in meditation. He makes no move to rise as you all draw near, but he might have heard you as his ears twitch a couple of times.

[Gilles...here is your introduction for your character. Add in details of what you character looks like and do whatever it is that you want on your first encounter with The Chosen. Yes you will know them from dreams that Domi has been sending you. The Chosen have had dreams of you to, but more clouded and it is only a feeling that they know you.]

Kanchana  d20+5=23 d20+5=13
Monday November 10th, 2003 5:16:00 PM

Kanchana continues her lope along the riverbank. She flinches and blinks as Brahmah bellows his question at the injured Taur. Pretty sure that she sees another Taur up ahead Kanchana hisses at Brahmah,"Shh, look up ahead! Any more speaking in such loud tones and you'll wake the departed..." Kanchana stops dead in her tracks and studies the odd scene briefly, "That one seems naggingly familiar somehow!" she murmurs, "where have I seen him before?" She draws a blank on trying to place the memory she thinks she might have...

Brimming with curiousity Kanchana tries to sneak in close to the meditating Taur. She steps on a twig while stalking in closer, on the breeze you here a sharp, low and startled expletive. She watches him carefully, looking very curious as she stops just out of pouncing distance from the Taur. She whispers (her voice rife with curiousity and not as soft as intended) as she approaches "Who are you??..."

Kanchana watches him warily, prepared to move quickly away if he does anything rash.

Leets

"Looks like our prayers were heard, captain Brahmah!"

Leets welcomes Gekhtar with the holy signs known by Domi's Clerics.

The young centaur wears no armor, only a blue tunic. He's a little bit more than 8ft, with mid-long blond hair and a bad shave. His green eyes sparkle with curiosity as he comes to meet the newly arrived Minotaur.
He also has a morningstar at his side, and a large steel shield with a shield put on a anvil skillfully painted on it. A hammer and a sword are crossed on the shield.

"I'm Leets Talric of the Talric tribe, son of the Stallion Cyrus and the Paladin Rowena. I'm myself a sacred fighter of the Holy Father of the Taurs. Be welcome among us Gekhtar of the Cadeqa family, your help will be welcome."

"They where nine at the begining, three of each Taur race. Now, only seven of them still remain..." Gecktar bows deferently before Leets answering his holy signs of Imod. "Imod, or Domi as you call him show me the way to meet you"

A little bit of an introduction. (DM Jim)
Tuesday November 11th, 2003 5:17:17 PM

The older minotuar startles as Brahmah suddenly yells in his direction. He stops in mid sentence of the story he was telling and turns his eyes in his direction. "Sorry...my name if Fertin." He looks to Kenisha as she comforts her child and smiles, hoping that she will forgive him his lack of manners. "I am sorry if I have given insult and will be on my way then." He starts to get off the raft after they have stopped to investigate the new taur.

The new taur introduces himself as having been looking for The Chosen for some time now and for some reason you are quick to believe him (int DC 14 to remember a little more of the dream, nothing specific). Managarm circles around the new taur and after some sniffing has his nose stuck in the taurs hand, wanting a scratch.

After a little more introductions and getting to know one another you move on out, with or without the older taur. Things seem to be picking up for The Chosen and you all hope it will stay that way till you reach the port.

Kenisha and Domisha
Tuesday November 11th, 2003 6:05:29 PM

Kenisha calls out to Fertin as he moves to leave the raft, "Wait, please don't go. It was Brahmah who startled Domisha, not you. Besides" she adds with a smile, "you have to finish the story. You wouldn't want to disappoint the little ones, would you?"

As the group is introduced to Gecktar, Kenisha will wave from her position on the raft, "How do you do? I'm Kenisha and this wee one in my arms is my daughter, Domisha."

Domisha points to Gecktar's holy symbols and smiles up at her mother.

Kenisha is a slender (for a centaur) female with a dark brown coat and hair, except for at the very top of her head which is stark white, and radiates out in five locks of hair; like a odd star or comet... or a hand. She has woven shells, feathers and beads into the ends of a few braids of her long and wavy hair. She has expressive large blue eyes and usually has a smile on her face. For those parts of her not covered in horse fur, her skin is lightly tanned. She wears only a blue tunic with a harness for carrying things. With exception of a dagger and a sling, she is not known for carrying weapons.

The first thing one notices when looking at Domisha is her large cat-like green eyes and her lionesque facial features. Her upper (humanoid) and lower (equine) torsos are a little shorter and broader than one would expect, but they do end in four hooves like a normal centaur. A lion's tail ends this strange ensemble.

When you look at the top of her head you discover one more strange thing. Surrounded by her brown hair, are two triangles (formed by black hair) joined together by their bases, one points down to her face, the other points back. The brown hair in the middle of these triangles is lighter than that which is outside of them.

Brahmah
Tuesday November 11th, 2003 6:40:57 PM

"I'm truly sorry Fertin, please stay on board awhile longer. You understand, we have great reason to be suspicious of others currently, two small reasons actually (gesturing to the children). You may stay with us as far as you wish."

"Let's move Chosen. No lagging behind. Miroband is still searching for us, to be sure!"

He pauses, smiling. "Uncle Brahmah??" He looks at Kenisha, curiously.
----------------------------
Brahmah wears a heavily worn tunic, breeches, gauntlets and a very weather worn leather cloak. He has a feather once worn by a friend (now deceased), braided into his long black fur.
Over his tunic, Brahmah wears a chain shirt emblazoned with Domi's holy symbol of strength, the hammer.
A falchion hangs from one hip and a kukri hangs from the other. All of his equipment is well kept and clean, but overly used.
He is physically dominating and intimidating, not to mention rather ugly. He's brimming with muscles, covered with scars and has engraved horns. The engravings are those of sea life, nature and female minotaurs.
The warrior is missing his tail and most of his left ear.
He stands about eye to eye with Gecktar(maybe a little taller) and is roughly 20 years older.

-------------------------------------------
"Gecktar, it's not as bad as it may seem. We were nine for sometime, then eight, then nine, but two recently left to follow another path Domi set before them."

He gestures to his golden eagle (Pah'caw) to perch on his shoulder.

"Vasch , keep an eye or two open. Your doing ok."

He rummages through the loot, removing a mace or the like and hands it to Fertin. "Here, you might need this." He smiles.

"Come Gecktar, tell us of your search for us. And anything you may have seen nearby."

"Let's move out Flat-top."

Kanchana  d20+3=19
Tuesday November 11th, 2003 7:22:15 PM

Kanchana looks critically at first at Gecktar, then nods suddenly remembering snippets of one of the weird dreams she has when Father Tomi wants her to 'know' something. "Well Servant of the Great Father Tomi... Gecktar, you said you were called? I am Kanchana, I serve both Mother Wold and Father Tomi. I am a Warden of the Natural Order - a Druid... *Uh* I am also a mage, and I suppose appointed Healer to the Chosen Ones. I am more of an Herbalist really..."

************************************************
Kanchana is mostly average for one of her people. She is 7'3" and of average weight, but what she lacks for physically she makes up for in grooming. She keeps herself well groomed and her pale golden-brown fur glistens like burnished gold. Her skin is tanned and her long hair is pale gold-brown with russet highlights. Kanchana keeps her hair braided into several plaits of varying thicknesses. Also braided into her hair are a variety of feathers, bits of carved bone, shells, beads(of stone, glass and precious metals),small crystals and leather thongs. Her thick, lustrous hair reaches to her lower back when braided. By way of clothing she wears a buckskin bodice decorated with small stylized bone-carvings of nature spirits and one symbol of Domi(a small carved wooden shield inlayed with the hammer and anvil of Domi and carved stylized vines entwining the edges), and there are also geometric designs in beadwork in dark natural colors on the hems of her bodice. Kanchana wears a ubiquitous belt with many pouches hanging from it, including; first and foremost, her totem bag and spell component pouch.
************************************************

Kanchana starts to turn away from Gecktar and to return to her place along side the riverbank. She looks over her shoulder at him and says quietly, "I welcome the skills of another Healer; if you are inclined to be one..." She half-smiles at Gecktar.

"Brahmah? Has your companion seen any Wemics yet?" Kanchana asks as she saunters over to the riverbank and prepares to move out.

His body is a reverce Piebald, a black body with White spots, right now he is with out armor, his human body is darkskin, he has ice blue eyes and has white hair, main going down his back, white tail. Flat-top gives a little salute to Gecktar, "Flat-top Over here!"

Taric
Wednesday November 12th, 2003 1:01:22 AM

"I'm Taric. Welcome aboard." is all Taric says.

Taric is a rather small and slender looking MinoTaur. He wears a brown colored robe that covers almost his whole body. His hair and visible fur is rather unkempt and gives of a chaotic impression. A darkbrown cloak flutters behind him. His hands seem to be surprisingly delicate. It's easy to tell that this MinoTaur is not a warrior. His darkbrown eyes sprakle with curiosity and intelligence whenever he looks as something, like he wants to memorize it for later use.

Leets drinks a little, chewing a piece of bread.

"My plan is to bring the little ones to the Hearthold Keep - oh, anyway, it's a place you have to see, since you have joined us - Then we can call for a gathering of Domi's holy servants. I hope we can talk all together and find an way to deal with this situation...maybe for the best..."

His only garb is the studded leather he wears for protection and a muddy brown hoodless cloak. Currently his fur is caked in mud with spots of dark red mud.

After greeting every member of the Chosen he gently approches Kenisha and Domisha "She is a gift of Domi as she is a breed between to taur's races... May Domi bless her." He then begins a prayer to Domi so that he take care of her.

The raft sails on. (DM Jim)
Wednesday November 12th, 2003 3:44:37 PM

Fertin glances to all and then nods his head. "I am sorry...it cannot be easy for any of you right now." He once again glances around as if worried about something. "I was following tracks for awhile and then I lost them...I am not sure why I followed the tracks really...except that they killed my daughter and grandaughter." He slums down on the raft near the children again, tears starting to form at his eyes. Shaking his head he takes the offered morningstar and cradles it in his lap. After some time he goes back to the story that he was telling...something about the taur that goes to visit her grandma in the woods.

The raft moves on as Flat-top gets it going again. The rest pace the raft keeping an eye out for any signs of trouble. Vasch falls back a ways to scout out the area having a bad feeling about everything. You notice two hawks have joined in the aerial ballet that Pah'caw is forming in the air. Thursday November 13th, 2003 3:48:29 PM

Fertin brightens somewhat as The Chosen speak to him on his loss. "I know that I cannot blame myself...but I just felt so useless." You notice that he gets great enjoyment out of telling stories to the young ones. Vrurt even remembers the taur from her life in the village. He use to make sweet apples for the kids.

As the raft floats on noone is the wiser of anything that is going on around them, beside the usual swamp noises and the like. The arrival a pair of hawks in the sky earlier had put Vasch on edge, heightening his danger sense. He mulls over a nagging suspicion that something is not right in this field and soon figures it out. Several of the bushes further up are just wrong, in shape and something else that he cannot put his claw on.

[Vrurt has not named her child yet as she has no real ideas. She is hoping that it will come to her in a dream from Domi...a blessed name.]

Kanchana scans the area around them quickly to see if she can see what is causing Vasch to be so on edge...

Kenisha  d20+4=18

Ambush!!! (DM Jim)  d20+3=7 d20+4=20
Friday November 14th, 2003 3:49:57 PM

It all happens so quick that everyone is startled a little by it. The raft suddenly comes to a jerking halt (Reflex DC 18 to stay standing or fall off the raft, +2 bonus if seated at the time). You are not sure yet what has stopped the raft but it was really sudden. Fertin finds himself pitched over the side of the raft as he starts to stand. He lands with a big splash in the water and just barely fights the current that pulls at his legs.

Taric disappears from sight as he takes in the visual clues of trouble from the others. Getting a little more on edge everyone starts preparing for the worst. Kanchana gets the idea that something is not quite right from the way that Vasch moves.

Meanwhile Vasch has pulled up closer on one of the bushes and is surprised when it erupts from the ground. Having been hiding in a hole under the bush, a wemic bursts out with a pair of battleaxes in hand. He just grins as he looks to Vasch. You notice that five more of the bushes are soon tossed to the side as more wemics pop out. Three on the hill have bows draw and arrows already nocked, while the three lower on the flat area hold battleaxes in each hand.

[The ground is naturally flat, with no show of being touched by human hands. To the rest of you the bushes/hides where just more bushes and nothing more.]

[Vasch and the wemics will get a partial attack before the first regular attack from the surprise. So Vasch can add a partial post with his full round action.]

[Pah'caw would not have really noticed the difference in the bushes from her altitude. The two hawks flew over top of the group for awhile and then flew off, making no attacks on her.]

[Jay - We will start making some of the basic plans with Jerry then. I am not too sure of this myself and we will of course have to do some talking about it. A basic layout will not be too hard as I have some stuff for stronghold building. Location and the like will be up to Jerry as I am not sure about that. We will also need to see how well outfitted he wants to have Hearthold Keep. Let's start an email discussion about it and the others can join in as they want so that we can customize it to The Chosen partly too.]

Brahmah (43 of 70)

Taric takes the time and casts haste on as many of The Chosen as possible to start the battle.

Gecktar calls upon the help of a celestial eagle as he moves to protect the children on the raft.

Flat-top attemps to pull the raft to shore, but it is firmly caught on something in the water. Seeing that the raft is not going to go anywhere he makes it to shore and starts girding himself for battle.

Pah'caw takes to the sky as the attack happens. She will await orders from her master as to how to help in the battle.

Leets casts a bless spell on the group and then gives orders to Managarm to follow his attack.

Kanchana casts her own entangle spell on the group of archer wemics. She is hopeing to buy time for the group.

Kenisha puts up a mage armor spell for the extra protection. She tells Vrurt to keep the children down and cover them as best she can.

Managarm follows his master's lead and moves with him to attack the big cats.

Wemic6 smiles a feral grin as he brings both of his battleaxes to play on Vasch. The blades come in from both sides, leaving little room to move but backwards (hit: 26/22*crit 22*, damage: 9/4*crit 10*).

Wemic4 finds himself bound up in the vines and grasses of the swamp.

Gecktar takes a position with hammer and shield ready to guard those on the raft. He gives his eagle the order to attack one of the archers.

Flat-top now out of the water fires off his crossbow at the archer1 twice. Both of the bolts find a place in his body, having found spots in his armor.

Vasch swings his own weapon at the wemic, trying to wound him good. He finds that the wemic is able to weave out of the way of both his blows. Then he is hit back badly and finds himself slowly slipping to the ground.

Kenisha gets her lightning bolt out from beside Gecktar. It spears towards both wemic4 and wemic5, rolling over thier bodies and making them twitch.

Kanchana casts mage armor on herself right as she sees Vasch going down. She says a prayer to Mother Wold to keep him safe and not let the wounds be mortal as she runs towards him.

Taric conjures up a floating disc so that Fertin can get out of the water. He keeps it steady as the battle rages on.

Leets is able to make it through the entangled area, though at half speed. He makes it to the archer3 and nails him with his morningstar.

Managarm is able to blink across the entangle area and hit the wemic3 from behind. He digs his teeth into one of the wemic's hind legs, jerking his head.

Brahmah charges over to engage wemic6 as Vasch goes down. He slams his sword into the wemic while his kukri misses.

Pah'caw dives on wemic5 tearing into his back as she passes. It may not have been a bad wound but it was enough to slow the wemic.

Wemic6 steps over top of Vasch as both Kanchana and Brahmah comes his way. He takes the hit from Brahmah, it causing little damage, and returns a pair of attacks with his battleaxes(hit: 11/8, damage: 10/7).

Brahmah flies into a flurry of blows from his weapons as he tries to lay wemic6 low. Unfortunately he only get his kukri to connect once.

Kenisha worried about Vasch and his condition fires off a series of magic missiles at wemic6. Being magic missiles they are all well placed on their target.

Taric casts a wave of swirling flashing lights in front of Wemic1 and wemic2, trying to distract and hypnotize them.

Leets slams his weapon into wemic3 with a pair of crushing blows. He asks for surrender but can tell by the wemic's face that their will be no quarters given or taken.

Gecktar calls up a spiritual hammer to smash into wemic1, but finds that it's first strike is not too well aimed.

Flat-top moves forward and fires off another pair of bolts at wemic1. Both of which find more openings in his armor.

Vasch continues to lay on the ground blood pooling around him.

Kanchana makes it to Vasch and lets Brahmah take care of the wemic. Kneeling by his side she starts checking him out and then hangs her head in prayer. It is all too apparent that Vasch is beyond immediate help.

Wemic5 fires off a pair of arrows at Brahmah, backing up his fellow wemic (hit: 12/28, damage: 6/7).

Wemic2 escapes the entangled area and shakes off the effects of the hypnotic pattern. He pulls up his bow witht he arrow in it and fires it at Leets (hit: 16, damage: 7).

Wemic1 is able to shake off the effects of the hypnotic pattern. With a growl he pulls up his bow and launches another arrow at Gecktar (hit: 24, damage: 5).

Wemic3 grunts under the ferocious attacks and then sends his morningstar crashing back in at Leets (hit: 21, damage: 10).

(OOC: Lucky again today, machine likes me.)

(The crit would not hit from Wemic 6. AC 25 vs W6)

Brahmah calls for Pah'caw to 'Aid' him (Hopefully adding to his AC).

The arrow strikes solid and causes Brahmah to lurch.

Brahmah again goes for the wemic, like a gale against a ship.
[hasted full round of attacks]
(Hitting AC's... miss, 23, 25, 20 and 10, for miss, 11, 7, 11 and 5 damage.)

The Chosen's Captain feels the life flow from his body. He wobbles. The previous combat and the current one came to close together, even with the nights rest. His concern or the others might have been his undoing, he thinks to himself. His eyes dart hopefully toward Kanchana.

OOC: Brahmah will try to evade attacks

Kenisha (Mage Armor; AC 22)  4d4(4+4+2+2)+4=16
Wednesday November 19th, 2003 11:17:19 PM

Still worried about Vasch and seeing Brahmah reeling from the wemic's blow, Kenisha again sends her Magic Missiles (4 of them now (see below)) at the wemic (#6 for 16 pts of damage).

(ooc- I just realized that with the last exp award that I forgot to do anything more than add the xp (my book was in the car at the time). Kenisha's now 7th level! I'll be updating her as soon as I can and send it to you DM Jim.)

Kanchana (Bless and Mage Armor AC 20)  d20+11=22 d8+2=9
Thursday November 20th, 2003 2:17:29 AM

Kanchana lets out a wail of sorrow and glares at the Wemic that killed Vasch. Kanchana does nothing to hide her ire. In Wemic she growls "You will pay like for like for killing him."
She picks up her scimitar and hangs it from her left wrist by its lanyard. She sees Brahmah's hopeful look and returns it with a grim, level stare. Kanchana stands up and takes a 5-foot step towards Brahmah. She touchs Brahmah lightly while chanting words of healing. She casts a Cure Light Wounds spell to heal Brahmah a bit.
Kanchana thinks to herself "we should have rested longer and healed better. I am so weary; I failed them."

(Concentration 22, CLW 9 pts of healing to Brahmah)

Thursday November 20th, 2003 7:09:12 AM

Flat-top fire two more bolts at Weimic"1", hoping to get that cat mad enought to get him to attack him and not Gecktar on the raft. "Come On! Fur Face!Look this little horsie
is bleeding. I'm almost helpless!"
Flat-top want the weimic to attack him, and he know that this Centaur can kill him in a hand to hand combat.

Gecktar (hp 30/40)  d20+3=20 d8=5 d20+2=10

Gecktar make a step back on the impact as the arrow hits hard. He drops his shield and take his bow for a shoot on wemic #1. "Take it vile servants of Evil and may your bones be burned in eternal pain" (hit AC 10... miss)
During this time the force hammer tries to land a blow (hit AC20, 5 damage).

Although his heart remains tough, Leets heavily feels the blows of his opponent...

*And they are so many! I hope the others are not having troubles...*

Leets still fights, with two attacks at 17 and 12 (the second one is probably missing...), for 5 and seven damage.

OOC: Managarm probably also has the Haste spell since he was near Leets...

Thursday November 20th, 2003 4:54:08 PM

Brahmah flies into another flurry of attacks on the wemic. Enough of his attacks hit to give an immediate effect.

Kenisha lets fly a series of magic missiles at the wemic attacking Brahmah. Each one hits him in the side sending him reeling.

Taric casts a shield spell on himself and pulls out his crossbow.

Kanchana howls in rage and sputters at the wemic that killed Vasch. She stands and makes her way in his direction, laying her hand on Brahmah to heal him.

Pah'caw dives on the wemic making a slashing pass at his face. The claws are well placed and almost takes out the liontaur's eyes.

Managarm crunches down on the wemic's other leg from behind. The force applied is enough to at least draw blood and make the wemic roar.

Flat-top fires off a pair of bolts at wemic1 trying to draw his attention from Gecktar. Both of his bolts bury themselves into the wemic.

Gecktar fires off a bolt of his own but it falls really short of his target. His hammer has better luck as it slams into the wemic for some minor damage.

Leets finds the liontaur more than a match for his attacks as it sidesteps both of them. He only hopes that the others are fairing better and he can hold out.

Gecktar's eagle makes another dive on the injured wemic that he had attacked earlier. The staggering wemic leaves his claws off target and he misses.

Wemic6 staggers under the combined assault of weapons and magic. His battleaxes slowly slip from his hands as his eyes glaze over. He silently topples to the side.

Wemic4 looks around at the turn of events and growls. He spins and fires off an arrow at Leets(hit: 27, damage: 10).

Wemic5 fires off another pair of arrows at Brahmah, seeing no way to escape and not going to be taken prisoner (hit: 24/25, damage: 9/8).

Wemic2 also fires off an arrow at Leets as he looks around and growls (hit: 19, damage: 5).

Wemic1 lets his bow slip from his hand as he topples over onto the ground.

Wemic3 thought himself good for avoiding the taurs attacks that stood before him, but the dog behind that he thought just a nuisance was enough to really hurt him. His legs go out from under him and he losses his weapons, but does not get back up.

Kanchana  d8+3=9
Thursday November 20th, 2003 8:08:50 PM

Kanchana draws her Wand of CLW and touches it to Brahmah. Then as loud as she can (hoping that her voice will carry far enough and be heeded), Kanchana commands: "Regroup now! To the raft! Everyone regroup!! Someone cover Leets' back!" Kanchana is profoundly worried for the welfare of the warriors among the Chosen.

She looks up at Brahmah and asks him, "Can you help me carry Vasch's body to the River bank or do we leave him here until the enemy is all dead?"

(Heals Brahmah 9 pts)

Taric
Friday November 21st, 2003 1:07:51 AM

Hearing the cry of help from Kanchana, Taric tries do distract the wemics. About a 200 ft behind the wemics he creates the image of an armed group of minotaurs, making them look like they are going after the wemics. Taric also creates the sound of hooves going through grass. Taric moves the image slowly towards the wemics.

OOC:

"Come back Leets ! We're covering you !" Gecktar then indicate the wemic #2 to his force hammer that completly miss the target and fire an arrow to the wemic #4 that fly into the sky far from the ground... It seems that the raft is not completly stable...

(OOC : luck is not with him...)

Kenisha (Mage Armor; AC 22)  4d4(4+2+1+2)+4=13
Friday November 21st, 2003 5:39:05 AM

Kenisha changes her aim to the wemic archer (#5) firing at Brahmah (for 13 pts of damage). She then calls out to Fertin, "Can you see what we are caught on? We need to get this raft loose!"

OOC: Hey look everyone, I'm working without a net! :) Still having massive tech difficulties.

Brahmah hears the call for retreat and with a great sigh of relief, the Captain turns from his query as if he knew the wemic as dead. Suddenly taking another arrow in the chest, he nearly falls to his knees in agony, but remains standing.

"Regroup!" He calls to the Chosen.

He looks sorrowfully at Kanchana, "Leave him lay, we'll retrieve **coughs blood** his body afte...." The voice trickles away from the warrior.
As he retreats, he's fully defensive(+4 dodge), covering the others as he moves. his dodge is versus wemic archer #5, AC 29 ;)

Brahmah's hp's should read 28, not 19 this round.

Ceil also pointed out last week that Brahmah's HPS should have been higher at his 1st level. I rolled on all levels and she says I am shorting myself 5hps because I should have had full hps at 1st... is this true? I think it is just a mistake on my part.

"But Captain! there still danger three weimic that are dangerous to us?? Alright! I'll try to disloge the raft." then as he is taking his armor off, He tell the taurs on the raft, "Alright! Taric and Gectar, to make the raft lighter, you two must get off. The mothers will stay on the raft, Now Ferton! you will stay on the disk untill the raft moves, then jump on the raft and control it as I push."
At this point Flat-top armor is off and he'll throw his equipment on the raft, He'll dive into the water, swim to see and disloge the raft, then come up for air.

OOC:Please DM Jim bear with me. Flat-top has haste and bless spell cast on him, so he can move at twice the speed?? and get a +2 on anything he does?? I use jump(dive) ac23 - swim(under water) asc24 - Spot(what ever is holding the raft) ac20 - Jump(to disloge what ever is holding the raft)ac23. Paw'caw circles and fold her wings again, attacking weimic"#5" again because the cat was attacking her master again. She dives fot the weimic's spine whit her talong and bite. After her flash attack will again fly to the hights of the skies, to see if her master is attack again.

Managram seeing that the Weimic(#3)is not getting up, *Blinks* to where the weapons are, picks up the bow and bring it to Leets.

Managram look at Leets and you can almost tell what the dog is trying to sa,'Look what a good boy I am, Now can I have my bone back?'

Leets (Haste, Bless)
Friday November 21st, 2003 2:38:04 PM

*Wow...They're good...I wonder who sent them there, and who they serve...*

Thinks Leets as his opponent dodges his attacks.

Then, he receives another arrow in his back, and realize his opponent is on the ground just when Kanachana calls for retreat.

"Yes...They are really good..."

Leets decides to think later of those responsible for the attack, and calls Managarm so that the faithful companion follows.

"Managarm! It's ok, he's on the ground and beaten, we've to go now!"

Thanks to the Haste spell, Leets can move really fast, probably too fast for the Wemics.

"Here I am Brahmah! Is everybody arrived! We've to move really quick! Is somebody hurt?"

Leets is himself seriously wounded, two arrows in the chest and heavy blows of morningstar on his shoulder (although he'll not admit it as long as somebody needs his help...).

Friday November 21st, 2003 4:16:41 PM

Kanchana hits Brahmah with some much needed healing as she calls a retreat to the raft.

Taric conjures up the image of a group of minotaurs seeming to engage the wemics.

Gecktar calls Leets back as well. He fires off his own bolt and finds it missing it's target by a lot. His magic hammer has no better luck in hitting either.

Kenisha fires off another series of magic missiles at wemic5 to cover Brahmah and Kanchana's retreat.

Brahmah thanks Kanchana for the healing and then calls a retreat for the group to the raft. He says they will reclaim Vasch's body after the battle.

Flat-top dives into the water and swims to the front of the raft. He finds that there is a rope extended under the water that the raft is caught on it.

Pah'caw once again dives at wemic5 and digs at the back of his neck. Only one claw is able to get under the hide and do anything.

Managarm blinks away and then returns with his master's bow. Then he follows his master in retreat and hopefully a treat.

Leets retreat with his dog as he ponders who it was that sent the wemics against them. He plans to thanks them later as he arrives at the raft. He will quickly notice that Vasch is not among those that are at the raft.

Fertin glances in the direction of the front of the raft and yells that he sees something under the water, but cannot make it out too well.

Wemic6 is dead.

Wemic4 growls again as he sees The Chosen retreating. He fires off another arrow at Leets' retreating form (hit: 21, damage: 9).

Wemic5 shrugs off the futile attacks and fires a pair of arrows at Kanchana, having noticed that she seems to be a healer (hit: 10/25, damage: 7/3).

Wemic2 turns to find a group of minotaurs coming his direction. He pulls up his bow and fires off an arrow in thier direction (Will save 22)(hit: 13, damage: 3).

Wemic1 is on the ground slowly bleeding out.

Wemic3 is on the ground slowly bleeding out.

[The rope is AC 16 due to being under water and a few other things. It will require a knife or dagger to cut the rope, other weapons are too hard to use underwater.]

[Jay - Ceil is right you do get full hit points for first level. There is no reason to roll for them.]

OOC: I'll correct his hit points on his sheet later. For now, can he have those extra 5 hps? :)
That would bring his hit points to 33 of 75 then, still technically the same ratio.

Saturday November 22nd, 2003 6:19:16 AM

Brahmah calls to Flat-top, "Keep that raft close, don't let it go."

Seeing that wemic #5 is the only one currently moving, he gestures to the casters to focus on him.
"Stay in defensive formation." He says softly. Then he whispers to the Chosen, "If we can remove him from the ambush, then we can leave the archers in the tangles and make our exit, honorably and with no more deaths."
(He goes Totally Defensive, +4 Dodge to AC)

If kenisha lend her Dagger to Flat-top. He'll go under the raft and use it to cut the rope. (ac16 - Damage 9hp)

Kanchana (Bless ( ?) and Mage Armor AC 20)  d8+3=11
Saturday November 22nd, 2003 11:20:38 AM

Kanchana takes the arrow in her flank as she moves to regroup; she was looking back at Vasch instead of watching the enemies' movements. She is so upset about Vasch that she hardly even registers the arrow sticking out of her.

Kanchana listens to Brahmah's words and looks at him in disbelief and anger. Kanchana hisses, "and leave Vasch for carrion?? No!" She gives Brahmah and any others who support the view about leaving without taking Vasch's body along a long hard glare.
"Besides they will be free soon enough and they will track us and wait for us to make a mistake. If you think that they will not then think again. They killed their 'own blood' easily enough." (Kanchana is referring to the relations of the Wemic race in general; not direct kinship here.)
Kanchana is really upset but her voice sounds like ice. At the moment she is so "hurt" and angry that she is taking everything literally. She is speaking softly enough to be heard by (most) of the Chosen but not the enemy. The fact that she is advocating spilling blood is a significant change in Kanchana's demeanor.

If Leets has regrouped and is within touching range of Kanchana's CLW-wand then she will heal him what she can; if not then she will heal Brahmah. (perferably she will heal whichever one looks worst (i.e. the one with the lowest HP and who is also closest).

(Heals Leets or Brahmah for 11 points. Leaving this up to DM Jim to dispense to whichever one needs it the most.)

Gecktar  d20+2=13

Monday November 24th, 2003 4:14:33 PM

Brahmah orders a retreat so that they do not have to spill anymore blood.

Flat-top requests a knife and then dives back under the water. He finds that cutting the rope is not going to be so easy, but he has started.

Kanchana protests leaving Vasch behind and wants to finish this before they move on. She knows that the wemics will not let them go that easily.

Gecktar fires off an arrow at wemic5 but once again misses.

Kenisha fires off a bolt of electricity at two of the wemics and then tosses her knife to Flat-top to cut the rope.

Taric fires off a bolt at wemic5 and finds that it flies true, but has little power behind it.

Leets pleads the case of leaving Vasch behind for now and getting him later.

Fertin is holding onto the pole to control the raft as Vrurt keeps control of the two children.

Wemic6 is dead.

Wemic4 is left with standing hair as he is hit by lightning. He roars and then sends a pair of arrows at Kenisha (hit: 24/15, damage: 7/5).

Wemic5 is enveloped in sparks of lightning and thrown to the ground. He lays there for a few twitching and then stops moving.

Wemic2 turns back around snorting as he does. The whole thing had been nothing more than a charade. He fires off an arrow at Leets (hit: 13, damage: 4).

Wemic1 is on the ground slowly bleeding out.

Wemic3 is on the ground slowly bleeding out.

Kanchana  d4+1=3
Monday November 24th, 2003 8:07:13 PM

Kanchana pauses in mid-step, and casts a Magic Missile at Wemic 4 for daring to resume hostilities. After this she almost half turns at the pleas of the others. She looks over her shoulder at the others as she speaks.

In a neutral tone of voice she says (not loudly enough for the folks on the raft to hear),"If you want the children to live and Vrurt to live then they [she gestures at the wemics] cannot continue to live... They are bound to this course - they have probably even sworn to take blood for blood. That means Vrurt's life at the very least. If you want I could try to speak with those who yet live and try to persuade them to end their Blood-quest and seek peace. But if they are still true to their words at the village, and their actions now, then Vrurt is little more than a Hellhound to them..." It is clear that Kanchana holds no hope for the redemption of these Wemics, not if Vrurt and the children matter... And clearly this bothers her nearly as much as Vasch's death.

In a somewhat cold and eerily emotionless tone of voice she continues, "And I cannot leave Vasch here. His death is my burden and I will not fail him a second time."

(Magic Missile: 3 dmg to Wemic 4)

Kenisha (Mage Armor; AC 22)  4d4(1+4+2+1)+4=12
Monday November 24th, 2003 11:13:17 PM

As one of the two arrows comes speeding towards her upper torso, Kenisha's hand reaches out and snatches the arrow out of the air. The other arrow smashes against the barrier of her Mage Armor. She smiles ane hands the arrow to Gecktar, "Here you go. A gift from our wemic friend out there."

Still looking to protect Leets, Kenisha sends her next volley of Magic Missiles at Wemic #2 (for 12 pts of damage).

"If you are going to talk, Kanchana, I would suggest you hurry. There are only two of them left now."

"Flat-top, Leets, go! Take the raft, we'll be along shortly."

"Damn it Kanchana!"

Brahmah dismisses his Entangle, then moves to attack Wemic #4. (Hits AC 33(crit for 32*), for 13(crit 27*))

Brahmah's dodge AC is 25 versus #4.

Taric

With a circular glance he appraises the basic wounds of all the party to see who need his healing hand first.

Wemic Battle Seven. (DM Jim)
Tuesday November 25th, 2003 6:00:27 PM

Kanchana pleads her case and then fires off a series of magic missiles at wemic4.

Kenisha also fires off a series of magic missiles but at wemic2. She also makes the comment about negotiations and hurrying since there are only two left.

Brahmah dismisses his entangle and moves to engage wemic4. He brings his blade down hard on the wemic and neatly cuts him from shoulder to stomach.

Taric casts bulls strength on himself and moves his disc around so that he can get on it.

Gecktar tries another shot at a wemic and finds that his luck still has not improved any. He decides to take back his shield and weapon to place himself as a tank.

Flat-top attempts to cut the rope more but this time the knife slips across the rope with no damage. He feels the air in his lungs starting to grow short, he figures that he has another round worth of air.

Pah'caw listens to the orders of her master and flies to the raft. She lands on Gecktar's shield and surveys the surroundings.

Leets leaps into the water and tries to give the raft a push to get it moving. He finds it rather difficult with nothing to push against and the rope still holding it in place.

Managarm makes his way to Vasch and taking his hand blinks him onto the raft. He then sits down looking rather pleased with himself and wondering when he can have his bone.

Fertin continues to hold the pole for when the rope is cut loose.

Everyone on the raft hears a creaking and cracking noise. Several of the ropes actually snap and the raft starts to fall apart. The children start to scream and cry, while the grown-ups start to worry. The current is strong enought that it could sweep away a child or an adult with little swimming experience (swim DC 12 or be swept down the river or if you pass you can make it to shore).

Wemic6 is dead.

Wemic4 is now laying on the ground cut from shoulder to belly, his inards now outards.

Wemic5 is dead.

Wemic2 looks around to the massacre and turns tail. He is quickly out of sight of the party.

Wemic1 is on the ground slowly bleeding out.

Wemic3 is on the ground slowly bleeding out.

Kenisha screams as the raft comes apart under her hooves. But she marshals herself even as she hits the water and casts Tensor's Floating Disc near the children.

(Concentration check=26; the disc can hold 700# and will move at 50 ft/rd. If she can get both children on the disc she will.)

If she can't get both children, she'll call out for help. Either way she'll do her best to swim towards shore.

If for some reason she can't get either child she'll swim towards them to grab them.

Tuesday November 25th, 2003 8:45:09 PM

Brahmah mumbles as he walks over to the remaining five wemic corpses and loots them. He takes a large bow and some arrows(quiver) for himself. He will look for any sign of who may have sent these wemics.

He turns as he hears the concern in Kenisha's voice. (What can he see from where he is?)

(OOC: How wide is the river? How big is the raft? How deep is it at the deepest point? How heavy are the children, each?)

"Kenisha, are you ok with the little one? I think we can go back on the shore now!"

Flat-top is trying to cut at the rope, when he feels that the raft is comming apart. So up he rises he will look to se what's going on, he will take any child in the water and put her on his back(part of a horses back is expose from the water),if the Unitaurs are safe, flat-top will take the body of Vasch on his back, then will retreve his armor and weapons.(I hope I don't lose anyone or anythings)

OOC: flat-top will use hast, role ac10 for cutting the rope.

Kanchana
Wednesday November 26th, 2003 1:09:49 PM

Kanchana at first watches the lone surviving Wemic turn tail and run for it. She considers chasing him down but decides not to. She shakes her head a little and thinks, "I need to calm down. I can't change what has happened..."
Kanchana doesnt notice the raft breaking apart until she senses a flurry of movement from her fellows behind her at the river's edge. She turns and just watches for a bit; trying to gather her wits about her and see what she can do to help. Kanchana moves down from the raft and near to the river's edge just in case anyone gets caught up in the current. She figures that if she has to try and swim then Father Tomi will protect her.

What can Brahmah see from his position?

Breaking Up. (DM Jim)
Wednesday November 26th, 2003 5:48:52 PM

Kenisha is able to get the disc position so that it is as close to the children as possible.

Brahmah is looting the body of the first wemic4 when he hears the concern in Kenisha's voice. He is horrified by what he sees. The raft falling apart and several people ending up in the water.

Taric is able to grab Domisha as the raft starts to fall apart, but is unable to grab anyone else.

Leets is able to grab Vrurt as she drops her kid on the disc and falls into the water. He swims to shore pulling Vrurt along as she tries to help out as best she can.

Flat-top is able to grab Vasch as the raft breaks apart, but his weapons and armor sink into the water. Possibly they are carried a little ways by the current.

Kanchana makes it down the river a little and watches for anyone that may not have as much luck in getting out of the river. So far it is looking rather good.

Gecktar is barely able to grab a log as he falls into the water. Despite his best efforts to swim to shore, he and the log are caught in the current.

[The river is 20 feet across and 14 feet deep. The raft would have been at least 6-8 feet wide and the same in length. Each baby would weigh in at about 50-60 pounds apiece.]

[Spoils: vials-6, short stick, battleaxe-8, longbow-3, 50' of hemp rope-3, backpack-6, 25 days rations, masterwork arrows-34, tindertwig-8, antitoxin-4, waterskin-10, bedroll-6, sack-3, whetstone-4, healer's kit, ring, amulet, token]

Brahmah 33 of 75hps (Jay B)

Brahmah finishes up rounding up the loot and takes off to help who he can.

[When he sorted the loot, he as careful not to allow the 'short stick/wand' or the other smaller gear to get damaged, in fact, he put on the ring and amulet.]

OOC: I'll go to the CC with the loot if no one minds. I'll have the stuff ID'd too, unless one of us can do it? Or should we just add it to the other loot from the fight with Miroband?

Taric
Thursday November 27th, 2003 1:37:39 AM

Taric will move his disc to the shore and help Domisha get off. He then goes in pursuit of Gecktar to try and lend him a hand to stop him from being swept away by the current.

Kanchana puts her wand and scimitar away, securing them in case she has to go out in the water. The rest of her gear is either in her haversack or strapped/tied to her.
Shortly thereafter she notices Geacktar having trouble with the current. She takes a deep breath and wades out into the river to help him out as best she can. Kanchana isnt able to get a good grip on him. Gecktar weighs too much for her with his armor on! She hope that her efforts have moved Gecktar a little closer to shore though.

After counting heads, Kenisha realizes that Fertin is missing. She calls out, "Fertin's missing and Gecktar is in trouble! Somebody grab some rope and see if you can't pull him to shore!"

Kenisha deposits Vrurt's baby well away from the water and looks for Fertin. (Spot check= 6)

Safe and Sound for the Time. (DM Jim)
Thursday November 27th, 2003 6:24:55 PM

Everyone has made it to shore though a little spread out along the shore. You even find Fertin laying on the bank breathing hard. He has a smile on his face and is laughing. "More fun...than I...have had in...a long time." His smile is infectious to everyone.

Between Kanchana and Flat-top they get Gecktar to shore as well. Though tired and wet they feel none the worse for wear. It is obvious that moving out to a better area would be a good idea. A little rest would not be bad either as you are all feeling the effects of fatigue.

Brahmah inquires about the newest loot that has been gained and what to do with it. From the looks of the group a little rest and healing is in order.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!!

Kenisha sighs with relief now that everyone is on shore. She gives Domisha a big hug.

She casts Prestigiditation and dries off everyone (who are on land) and their equipment.

Flat-top
Friday November 28th, 2003 6:48:28 AM

As Flat-top rests, he smiles at Brahmah's comments on his raft. "Captain! I never said That I was a ship buildre, all I did was to go back when I was a colt and the raft we build back then foe my plans. But you know that one sank too!". Flat-top laugh at the though.
"Captain! I lost all my weapon, armor and saddle bags. Just as soon as I rest for a bit, I'll go into the water and help look for anything that's left down there. Oh! by the way how's the courent down there??"

Kanchana  d20+11=25
Friday November 28th, 2003 9:54:26 AM

Kanchana looks at least as tired and dispirited as she feels, though she does perk up a little bit at Fertin's good humor.
"Is anyone badly injured? Do any of you know any way; mundane or magical, to protect Vasch until we get to the keep?" Kanchana carefully pries out the painful arrow from her flank while making small, low noises of discomfort. "If we can; then we need to rest now." Kanchana speaks in a flat, monotonous voice as she treats her wound.
If no one objects then she starts to treat everyone else's wounds (in the mundane manner).

************************************************

If camp is made then Kanchana will take some time to look closely at the wands. She doesn't have an identify spell memorized though.

(Heal 25) (Hope to get everyone rested and healed at least +2 hp...)

A little needed R&R. (DM Jim)
Saturday November 29th, 2003 3:40:33 PM

It is obvious that the raft will not be repaired as part of it has drifted down the river and lost. Flat-top's gear is easily found on the bottom of the river, the water being quite clear.

Moving away from the current area you find a nice little hidden pocket that will make a perfect place to relax. A quick glance at the sun tells you that it is only about two after the high point of the sun (2pm).

Kanchana glances over the wands and finds them slightly similar in appearance. Made of wood and wrapped with grass around them, otherwise they are nothing special.

The two kids romp around a little under the supervision of the adults. Playing with the butterflies and picking flowers, they soon grow bored and come back to sit.

[Remember Kanchana's offer for healing everyone. You could also hold up here if you want and get some rest, starting out early in the morning.]

Brahmah 33 of 75hps
Saturday November 29th, 2003 3:58:36 PM

Brahmah sits and begins more careful inspection of the newest gear.
He cleans his weaponry and gear, and as he does so, he mentions to Kanchana quietly that he could use some healing soon. It's obvious to her that the broken arrows, gashes in his gut and back, as well as his bruised face(from mace wounds), all needed to be healed.
He just calmly sit and waits to be attended in her time.
"All this gear is in pretty good condition, these were more than your everyday hunter prides, they were prepared even as well as Miroband's crew." He holds up the stick and the vials. Brahmah then removes the amulet and ring, then puts them away.
He soon lays back on a rock and waits to be healed.

Kanchana  d20+11=14 d8+2=4 d20+11=15
Saturday November 29th, 2003 9:26:50 PM

Kanchana takes a bowl and fetches clean water from the river. She takes a small bit of gauze bandage and dips it into the water and starts to clean Brahmah's wounds. Next she will start to remove the broken arrows and a other debris. Kanchana feels her weariness and appologizes frequently for any pain that she is certain she is inflicting while removing the lodged in arrows. Kanchana whispers to Brahmah, "I think that those wands are the same type. They certainly look alike." She casts her last CLW spell on Brahmah.
Kanchana will tend everyone else's wounds as carefully as she can after finishing up with Brhamah. She will use mundane healing methods first and then resort to her wand if anyone still looks really bad.
Out loud and addressing no one in particular she says, "I hope that we can spend a few hours resting here and regaining strength. I need to commune with the Father and the Mother." If all of her tasks and tending are done then Kanchana will walk a little ways off to pray for answers. She neglects to say: "to hear how to repent for losing Vasch..."

(Heal check (for tending to Brahmah's wounds) 14, CWL spell (on Brahmah) heals 4 points, Heal check (for anyone else who needs tending to) 15)

"We'll take you home, my friend."
Flat-top will rest by standing guard.(With out his cloak)

Leets begins to remove some parts of arrows from his own, and then realize Managarm is wanting something. It takes a couple of seconds before the Centaur paladin takes the big bone in his backpack and gives it to the dog...

"You deserve it my dog, and when we arrive at home, you'll get one with some meat on it..."

Leets gets a look around, and particularly at Geckhtar.

"Are you ok? You know, that's the kind of things that happen quite often, and I guess we'll have to prepare for more before we arrive..."

"Brahmah...Any idea about who they were?"

OOC: Sorry everybody, I got the flu and wasn't able to post for a couple of days. It's ok now...Even if it's late, happy Thanksgiving to you all people-beyond-atlantic...

Kenisha
Sunday November 30th, 2003 9:47:17 PM

As she still has the spell up, Kenisha uses her Prestidigitation on Gecktar's clothing and armor.

"They were probably the same wemics who attacked the village looking for Vrurt. I just wonder if there are still more we have to get past before we make it to the coast?" she says in reply to Leets' question.

Taric
Monday December 1st, 2003 1:00:04 AM

Taric is glad they have a chance to sit down and rest a bit.

"We can't stay too long here though as one of the wemics got away. I bet he'll be back with reinforcements. I think it would be good to catch some early sleep and rest now and leave as early as we can in the morning."

Healing and rest takes priority. *He winks in Kanchana's direction*
We need a sabatical. I personally feel like I've been stung up the main sail during a thirteen day squall!
We should move from the shore, seeings how we lost the raft and all... wait, actually, we should travel down the shallows of the river several miles to avoid the trackers, stay out of the muck and mud.
Kanchana, can you rig up a 'perfume' to cover our scent(after healing us)... can't be too careful."

He taps himself with his own wand after Kanchana heals him. (healed 6, mark off a charge)

Rest before taking off. (DM Jim)
Monday December 1st, 2003 6:14:34 PM

The group sets up a camp for the rest of the day. Some healing is doled out to those who need it most and the rest relax as they clean themselves up after the battle. Everyone settles down and relaxes for the time being knowing that they may well have a busy day ahead of them.

You guys spens an uneventful night and wake up the next morning to find things as you left them the day before. The only missing thing is the bodies that seem to have been dragged off, not Vasch's body though as that was protected.

[So do you move out this morning or wait for the scent breaker to be created if the herbs can be found. Are you prepared to face the people of the port when you get there.]

By morning Brahmah is fully healed (through natural healing). So is Pah'caw, she shared my spells.
He rises early and prepares his spell Pass Without Trace.

Having time now, he goes down by the river to practice his Falchion and excercises(push ups, pull ups, stretches, even finds a an old stump to curl). The dewwy air is fresh and clean, he breathes it in deeply.
Mist rolling off the river.
It might be a sight to see Brahmah without his armor on, in simply his breeches.

Kanchana wakes up real early and starts to look around for herbs and plants that can be used to make a scent breaker paste, salve or wash she will use water or whatever grease-like substances she can (plant matter preferably).

************************************************

Kanchana will boil her plant concoction over the fire and try to make something viable from it. As she sits there minding her 'goop' she says, "if we can cast the "tracker's bane" spell [she is talking about the pass without trace spell] then we could not be tracked... however I can only cast 3 such spells on any given day. The children could ride in that magical disk that Taric used. Then we wouldn't have to carry them,or slow our pace." Kanchana stirs the boiling plant soup with a stick. "Anyway we need to rest here as long as we can. Anyone else have any ideas??"

Kanchana will wait with moving out until the mixture is finished and idea's have been exchanged.

Taric nods to Kanchana.
"The disc will only exist for a couple of hours per casting though. I might study in some more if we all agree that that would be the most helpful at the moment."

Leets
Tuesday December 2nd, 2003 5:03:03 AM

The Centaur paladin will spend the evening healing those who need it (including himself) and building some simple javelins (say...3, is it ok?).

Taking his own turn for the watch, Leets will prefer dawn, so that he can pray Domi for his protection during the day about to come.

Kenisha
Tuesday December 2nd, 2003 6:12:27 AM

"The disc is a good idea and I also can cast it and for me it lasts 7 hours, so I think we can keep the children going for the entire trip." Kenisha says with a nod.

"As to any other magics that might aid us in not being detected, I can't think of anything I know to help except Prestidigitation to help disguise our smells, but that's only good for an hour so I'd have to keep recasting it."

(ooc- Kenisha wasn't wounded at all in the last battle, so she doesn't need any healing.)

Flat-top

Because Centaurs sleep on their hooves, Flat-top is still in the same spot as when he was on guard. Flat-top is now Fully healed, He watches Leets as he prays and his dog follow him. Watching Brahmah go through his practice. Which reminds him that he need his excersise too.
So He goes into the field and run, in at a full gallop, throwing stones here and there. Thinking to himself,'If they want track, they'll get track but only in the battle field.'
When his run is over, he'll approches Kanchana,"Don't worry my dear, I trust you and your potions. Your getting very good at your art. Here's a few berries for your breakfast. Please take them."

A brand new day has begun and you find yourselves going about your normal routines. Kanchana is able to find all the plants that she thinks she will need to make her potion. Leets goes about his own morning routine and then forms himself several javelins. Pah'caw takes to the sky and circles around the camp for several turns. She comes back to perch in the tree having seen nothing of interest. Managarm keeps the children entertained for the rest of the time that you are here.

About midday you find find that you are all ready to head out. The going is easy but a little slower than you would have liked. Anyone that takes the time to think about it will figure that you have another day to the port.

[You were able to gain new spells with the nights rest. I will need to know any spells that are used so remember to put them with your post name. Kanchana was able to make enough of a past for everyone to make use of. It stinks kind of bad but is most definitely going to help you not be tracked.]

Brahmah, Pass without Trace(6hrs)
Tuesday December 2nd, 2003 6:49:03 PM

Before leaving for port, Brahmah will cast Pass without Trace.
(ooc; able to target 6 taurs for 6 hours, Flat-top, himself, Taric, Gecktar, Leets and Kanchana.)

"Maybe Managarm should ride the disc with the children, they might like that. Sorry Kenisha, I couldn't cast upon you too, but I'm not that powerful yet.
Closer we get to port, we must remember, it's more likely we'll run across scouts or hunters. Be alert. Expect anything."

Taric
Wednesday December 3rd, 2003 1:25:29 AM

Taric will cast his disc whenever they are ready to leave. He then follows the lead of the captain, hoping they will soon reach a ship to get them safe at sea.

Kanchana  d20+3=7 d20+5=13
Wednesday December 3rd, 2003 1:45:42 AM

Kanchana finishes her pasty concoction and then takes an experimental whiff of it. *ugh* "well this will work!" She says triumphantly and grins. She will put the paste into a bag and put it into her haversack until someone needs it.
Kanchana searches about for some sturdy wood to build a travois from... looks like she will have to drag Vasch's body with her. Kanchana thinks "I wonder how to get rid of the drag marks though??"
As she studies Vasch's body think of logistics problems she says "I can cast the tracker's bane spell too but only for two hours at a time. However my scent breaker paste should work just as good against leaving a scent trail."
Looking frustrated at not being able to get rid of the drag mark problem she asks, "does any one have any idea how to get rid of drag marks? I am not strong enough to carry Vasch's body all the way to some port..." Kanchana hopes that someone has a solution to her problem.

(Search 7, Spot 13)

((If Jim allows it then Kanchana would have swapped all her level 1 drd spells for pass without trace spells... if not then Kenisha will have to walk softly and wear the paste. Also does anyone know what checks to make for dragging heavy things/people??))

Gecktar (pass without trace from Brahmah)
Wednesday December 3rd, 2003 2:44:45 AM

Maybe could we build a strecher that four of us can carry it ? So no tracks will be left. I think the pace will certainly be slower but this is the only idea I have... This will spread the weight of Vasch among four of us.

(OOC : Gecktar will pray to regain the default spells shown on his sheet)

Flat-top(pass without trace from Brahmah)
Wednesday December 3rd, 2003 5:06:34 AM

"That's a great idea! If we are four around the strecher, that means no deep tracks. Alright! I'll take one corner, that is if we can stand each other's scent??" Flat-top makes a little joke.
"Leets! My Compradrey! hey I just made up a word for Friend?? Can we borrow two of your lances to make a strecher for Vasch, please."
As am after though, He add "Maybe when we get near the harbor to get our ship, we could all wear out hooded capes, like a funeral parade. These taur don't care much for Weimic and they won't be looking for a funeral durge any way?? what do you think??" ask Flat-top.
Flat-top turns to Kenisha and Kanchana "You females and the kid could be greving relatives? just following the funeral derge?"

Kenisha and Domisha
Wednesday December 3rd, 2003 6:14:55 AM

(ooc Kenisha will cast Tenser's Floating disc when it's needed to take over for Taric's; lasts 7 hrs)

Kenisha does her best to walk softly and keep an eye out for trouble on the trip. Domisha thinks it's great fun to have the big puppy on the disc and curls up with Managram to watch the wold pass by.

(Mine is Kenishacentaur on AIM but unless I know something is going on (ie a friend wants to talk to me on it, I'm rarely on.)

Leets
Wednesday December 3rd, 2003 9:00:48 AM

Leets looks at Flat-Top with wide eyes.

"Your compra...what?!? Well, give up...I see what you want to do with the lances, but those were designed to be thrown, and they will be too short to do what we want, and they may break easily. However, I've seen a lot of tougher branches that would do it perfectly..."

Leets moves away for five minutes, and comes back with two long and tough branches.

"It should be sufficient, no?"

Leets then gets closer to the disk and calls for his dog.

"Managarm! Hey Managarm! Come on!"

"Jump! Jump! Yes, sit on it! Good dog!"

"Now, you'll stay here, ok, and guard the disk. Is it ok?"

Managram{Ceil} (aim-munchwagon)

Managram picks up his bone and goes to Leets, follows Leets, then jumps and sits, (All this with out the lost of the bone.

To the port we are heading. (DM Jim)
Wednesday December 3rd, 2003 5:23:17 PM

Taking some extra time the group sets up a stretcher that they can carry Vasch's body on. They are soon moving out towards the port and Castle Violet. The added weight and time they must spend in taking along Vasch's body, plus cover thier tracks slows you down considerably. You take several breaks so that you do not tire out much.

Stopping again for supper you find a nice little spot that will serve as a nice place to spend the night. After much time spent making yourselves ready you all will fall alseep at your time and have the following dream.

"You find yourself standing in the middle of the central square at Castle Violet in the city part. Taurs are going about their normal business as you stand looking out at the ships at dock, when you feel eyes upon you. You turn to find a liontaur staring in your direction and you find yourself moving towards him at the table he is seated at. As you draw closer you notice that he has a ghostly image of a hammer over his head. You are touched by a sudden feeling that your fates are connected somehow...but how. Suddenly you have a feeling of uncontrolable darkness grabbing at you. When you turn you see the hazy outline of a taur dressed all in black."

[I will allow Kanchana to exchange two of her first level spells. You can set your watch as you see fit and everything. Embelish the dream that you have as much as you want, just don't take it too far and remember that you are alone in the dream but the other taur in it.]

Brahmah
Wednesday December 3rd, 2003 7:45:30 PM

Brahmah lays back and is fast asleep in a short time.

Taric
Thursday December 4th, 2003 2:34:59 AM

Taric will help to carry the stretcher with Vasch on it.

Not used to heavy labor, Taric is glad when they stop to rest for the night. When his head hits the ground he is already vast asleep.

He will take whatever watch is needed.

Kenisha
Thursday December 4th, 2003 5:42:22 AM

Kenisha is glad when the day passes peacefully.

When the dream starts, Kenisha recognizes that it is from Domi, but that doesn't stop the feeling of dread when the black taur appears. She wakes up gasping with a hand on her shoulder. Afraid that the black taur has followed her out of her dream she turns quickly and on the defensive. But it's just Leets waking her for her watch.

Brahmah
Thursday December 4th, 2003 6:05:58 AM

The Captain is aware the dream is far more vivid than usual ones he has, so it must be Domi again.

Is the liontaur looking at me the one to focus on, or was it the dark clad fellow behind him that was to be the focus... or was it both? Domi continues to be mysterious.

Still, the dream isn't as disturbing as the rotting form of Raakis(maggot filled mouth and all), the Great Priest, begging for his life. That dream is still haunting, having to kill the cleric wasn't a high point in Brahmah's life. Though he can think of far worse he had done while serving on THAT ship!

Flat-top
Thursday December 4th, 2003 9:08:47 AM

Flat-top while on his watch, starts to feel very tired. He leans against a tree, then falls asleep and dreams... That he is in the center of Castle Violet Square. He feels that eyes are watching his every move. Flat-top turns his head to see this Liontaur sitting at a table, he's drawn to him. As he nears this table where this Taur is, he spots a Ghostly Hammer this Taur's head. "Domi! is that you?" But the Liontaur does not talk or move, but he has a feeling that some how this Taur is like a brother to him. A feeling of dread, a Vail of darkness comes over him, He turns to see a dark Hooded Taur near...
Flat-top Wakes, he's in a sweat. He then approaches Brahmah (because he's the leader) Kenisha ans Leets (because they all once saw Domi at Hearthold). Flat-top tells them about his dream, "What is Domi trying to tell us? To protect this Weimic? Are we going to meet a special Weimic? And from What? An Assassin? Or Forces of Evil??

Kanchana  d20+4=19
Thursday December 4th, 2003 9:26:06 AM

Before getting some sleep Kanchana asks if she can have the last watch. She tends to Vasch's body, to see if it made the journey in relative good condition. "Thank you all for helping me with carrying Vasch. I appreciate it."
Kanchana eats a little of the left over food she had in her haversack, and then lays down to sleep. She rests fitfully, her body twiching as she dreams.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Kanchana finds herself watching all of the Taurs go about their daily business as usual... no, not usual... They are moving slowly, flickering from place to place like the hot sun reflecting off of the tar-painted hulls of curraghs.
She doesn't realize where she is at first, until she hears snorts. *??* ...Oh that market...
Kanchana's thoughts gain focus and the people begin to look less and less like drifting shades and shapes. She looks at all the ships with a queezy knot in her stomach. Then she feels someone staring at her.
Kanchana wheels around and sees a fellow Wemic staring at her. She stares back at the male with disbelief written all over her features. "It's not safe here...." Kanchana ventures cautiously as she slowly walks towards the stranger. She stops and studies the ghostly hammer floating above his head. "Do I know you?"
Kanchana has an eery feeling that she somehow shares something with this stranger; something other than race.
All of a sudden; and without warning, everything feels dark and cold - as if the sun was stolen away. It is constricting and all encompassing. *fear*
Kanchana turns away from the stranger and sees another spirit figure. This one is less clear than the people at market were. This - Taur - looks to be shrouded in mist and is black as sin.
Black... mist... unclear... that can't be good.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Kanchana starts awake in the morning just before her watch and is struggling to breathe deeply. She looks frantically around for a bit trying to gain her bearings before calming down and rubbing her eyes.
She gets up and goes to the river to wash and get something to drink before praying for guidance, She prays for Vasch's soul as well. When she starts her watch she eats a few dry, cold rations. Kanchana thinks about the dream and feels that someone is trying to tell her something.
Kanchana mumbles softly to herself, "I was alone, no one else was there. Only the stranger and I seemed real, and the ghastly apparition..."

(Wisdom roll to realize that the dream must be something more than a dream; a portent maybe?)
(Wisdom 19)

Leets
Thursday December 4th, 2003 9:59:31 AM

As Leets begins to think they will have a quiet end of journey, he finds sleep easily near the campfire...

***

When he finds himself in the middle of the market place of Castle Violet, he first searches for his friends...When he realize he's alone, he knows there's a problem, but then notices the lone Liontaur at the table...

"Master...Master Astachos! What are you doing here! Do you bring news from Mother...Uh...Oh...You're not Master Astachos...Who are..."

Leets suddenly feels a wave of cold, darkness and evil biting his very bones, chilling him like no shadow could do...He spins on himself very quickly, and finds himself sword in hand - the sword he gave to Vrurt's child, ready to fight.

"Ashur? My brother? Brother...What are you doing here too..."

Leets cautiously comes closer, tightening his grip on the hilt of his sword...

"I don't see your face...Come closer...Who...Who are you? Oh! You I recognize! You are...YOU ARE!!!"

***

Leets suddenly wakes up, sweating a lot and scared...

He drinks some water, slowly, scared at any little noise made in the night. He won't sleep anymore this night, and will pray for Domi until dawn comes...

Gecktar
Thursday December 4th, 2003 3:20:14 PM

This is the perfect place after a hard day, eevn if there was no assault, the weigh of Vasch is more and more difficult to carry. Not because of the weigh of his corpse but also of the weigh of his death on their souls.
Now maybe a quiet place go help giving a restful sleep.
When the dream begin, Gecktar imediatly feels something strange. As the other dreams he receive from Domi. When the dark Taur appears the feeling becomes fear and as he stand up to face the darkness itself Gecktar wakes up covered whith sweat.
In the morning, he talks about his dream to is Captain Brahmah. If other can hear his story it's even better.

A weary morning. (DM Jim)
Thursday December 4th, 2003 4:08:40 PM

Though the dreams had been somewhat strange and frightening you all got a good nights rest. You spend the better part of the morning talking about the dream and trying to come to some understanding of it.

It is with a little heavier step that you all start out again towards Castle Violet. The going is still slower than you had expected and you still hope for the best. Then again one more days worth of travel will not make any difference and it gives you time to think.

[Kanchana realizes that the dream has something to do with a new companion...the last to fill thier number. The black figure is an unknown though as it could mean many different things.]

[Sorry for slowing things down. I am almost ready to get Tunc into the game and I wanted to do it before the end of the module. Please bear with me.]

Kanchana
Thursday December 4th, 2003 5:19:45 PM

Kanchana busily smears the scent breaker on everyone including herself, as they talk and eat breakfast. She listens to the others talking about the dream. She says simply, "someone else has been Called."

Kanchana looks over at Vasch's corpse for a while, she thinks about the dark hazy figure. Kanchana wonders if it was Death itself she saw. "I wonder if we will succeed in retrieving Vasch from where he has gone?" she thinks, "that shadow means something..."

Kanchana will ready her gear and hope that she will have help this time too to carry Vash to port. She is ready to go, having memorized her spells and prayed to Mother Wold after being jolted awake from the dream.

Taric
Friday December 5th, 2003 2:00:34 AM

His muscles still a bit sore and his minds filled with the remnants of the strange dream, Taric helps to carry Vasch.

Hearing the others talk about the same dream he had seemed strange at first, but then again, Imod ways were and have always been mysterious.

He listens to the others to try and figure out if they already found a clue to what it all could mean. Then Kanchana talks about the newest addition. Taric raises his eyebrows, but doesn't say anything. That must be some kind of addition, he thinks to himself.

Brahmah
Friday December 5th, 2003 2:04:27 AM

Brahmah wakes up and is quiet about the dream and doesn't say much about.
He helps with Vasch and apologizes to Kanchana about not helping yesterday.
His eyes dart cautiously here and there through the day, looking behind trees and bushes.
He checks on the children often and sends Pah'caw up to be on lookout.
He also seems to be pondering a few things not related to the current issues.
Overall, his mind wanders all day.

OOC: Man, up here in Washington state we're having wild winds and power outages more than usual ;).
Winds 60-80mph, trees coming down, power stations blowing up, 180,000+ people out of power, schools closed, my store closed which doesn't happen often... real crazy weather here. Oh yeah, and rain.

Kenisha
Friday December 5th, 2003 6:12:30 AM

She remains jumpy for most of the day at every little sound.

Friday December 5th, 2003 7:04:26 AM

"I'm glad to hear that we all had about the same dream. It is from Domi, I don't think that he is replacing Vasch, I think He's adding to our ranks. Did you note that Vasch's body has not bloted?" Flat-top ask his taurs friends.
To Kanchana,"When Domi chose you< He chose well!"

Leets
Friday December 5th, 2003 11:42:52 AM

The Centaur paladin is obvously worried and thoughtful all the way long to castle violet...

"I undoubtly feel the sign of the gods in our dreams...Now, we have to see which message was carried..."

Hearing the other's dream with interest, Leets thinks for a while...

"For the first one with the hammer, I'm also sure it's the last one we were waiting for to fulfill our quest..."

"As for the second one...The dark one..."

Leets' eyes suddenly become darker, and he swallows with pain...

"I've been thinking of something for a while, and I wonder if this dream isn't linked to my fears but...If Domi chose his holy servants for his holy purpose...Who knows if Marteaus didn't choose his own unholy servants....We may cross their way, after all..."

Gecktar
Friday December 5th, 2003 1:31:19 PM

"Hmmm, Imod ways are always shrouded as he can see many more things than we can... Maybe yes, another choosen is called."
With that said he helps to carry the corpse of Vasch and as he use o, send a paryer to Imod.

Another day of travel and Castle Violet. (DM Jim)
Friday December 5th, 2003 4:10:28 PM

This days travel is also uneventful in that you see or hear nothing of the lone wemic that got away. Nervousness runs rampant in the group and you all are a might jumpy. The dark taur weighs heavily on most of your minds, but the sight of Castle Violet coming into view gives you new hope and dread.

Stopping at the edge of the swampland you survey the surrounding area and find nothing out of sorts. Suddenly this close to the port and a ship home you find yourselves a little unsure. Do you really want to enter the town and maybe face that which was in your dreams, but the children must be saved.

A break is called that turns into a decision to go into town in the morning hours. You know of a little temple just inside the gates that should assist you in getting Vasch back, Gargul willing. Besides a plan of action will need to be formed to get through town with minimal trouble.

Brahmah
Friday December 5th, 2003 5:38:14 PM

Brahmah finds the head of the temple as soon as we get there.
He requests that the Chosen are given sanctuary until they deside to leave. He states that the children are needing a warm shelter.
He only talks with the head cleric.
He also asks that they revive Vasch, the dead companion.

Brahmah
Friday December 5th, 2003 6:34:27 PM

REWIND!

Let's wait until eveing then move to the temple.

Then we'll ask what I asked in the first post.

Kanchana
Friday December 5th, 2003 7:06:58 PM

Kanchana smiles with genuine warmth at Flat-top, "thank you." Kanchana blushes and is touched by Flat-top's words, "I believe that Father Tomi has chosen all of us well."
She looks at Vasch and nods, "yes Father and Mother are looking after him. Leets, I hope that it isn't one of Marteus' servants we all saw. That Taur seemed cold and black as sin... shrouded in mist. Creepy."

************************************************

Kanchana trudges on heading back towards Castle Violet. She trusts that her paste is working satisfactorily.
She looks at Castle Violet and sighs. "I don't really want to go there. Is there any chance of circumventing town all together? they didn't like me much last time I was there, and don't expect it to be any better this time." Kanchana looks unusually nervous and edgy; maybe even scared. Thoughts of snorting Minotaurs and fanatic priests are still fresh in her mind.
She will follow the majority vote though; if anything she will continue to help carry Vasch to the best of her abilities.
If the Chosen do go into town and if Kanchana makes it to the Temple unmolested then she will not leave the temple until a ship has been contracted, or the Gods command it. She will spend all of her time helping with Vasch and praying.

Flat-top
Saturday December 6th, 2003 10:07:35 AM

Flat-top takes Kanchana's hand," Now listen to me, There's no reason to worry, If you ask me The dark Taur in our dreams is actuly Vasch trying to get back to us." Flat-top tries to see if this is impressing her, "We! Must do every thing possible to bring him back. I'll even give up my Morning Star that Domi gave me. Just to get him back. Now don't cry, just keep doing what your heart tells you to do." With this said Flat-top kisses her head.

Gecktar
Sunday December 7th, 2003 5:48:52 AM

Gecktar chest is released from a strong grasp when he sees Castle Violet. Here, at the temple, somebody will help them and secure them until they find a ship.
If he already knows the head priest of the temple, Gecktar will acompany Brahmah to ask for what they need and present the request for Vasch.

Kenisha
Sunday December 7th, 2003 11:35:27 PM

Keeping Domisha close to her side, Kenisha will follow Brahmah; silently praying to Domi for the strength of will make it to the temple and asking that the priests there are kinder to her child than the last one they met.

Leets
Monday December 8th, 2003 3:00:58 PM

Although Castke Violet is now in sight, Leets still be worried...He takes Domi's warning very seriously, an reamins aware of anything strange...

"Gecktar...We'd better remain cautious...The last High Priest of Domi who crossed our way was against us, and we had to flee...I don't know what Gargul thinks of the newborn Taurs...But...Be careful..."

Leets will ask for a quick break before the group enters the city...

"My friends...We all had the same dream, and we know we could encounter a dark, terrible foe in this place. Whatever happens once we have entered, remember we also have Domi by our side...and that the main thing is to save the little ones."

"May Domi bless you all..."

With an obvious fear, Leets will cast Bless on the group, prepare his weapons, and enter Castle Violet.

To the temple. (DM Jim)
Monday December 8th, 2003 3:22:14 PM

You slip through the wooden gates of the main city without incident. It does not take long for you to reach the temple and slip inside as a young priest ushers you in. He has you follow him to a room with several plush chairs and tables. Shortly after an aged priest enters the room smiling at you. "Please...calm yourselves and relax." He shoos the young priest away to bring food and drink to the room. "Noone will harm you within these walls...there are those that understand the meaning of the passages in the scriptures." Taking a seat he stares for a little while at the two children and you see tears form in his eyes. "It is easy to tell that they are not evil." The young priest returns with several trays of meats, cheese, apples, rolls and fruit juices. The older priest sweeps his hand at the food and even takes some himsef incase you are worried, eating it before you.

You talk for several hours of the stuff that is going on around Castle Violet. You find out that you all have a bounty on your heads of 100000 gold. The races have become split, even among thier own kind, about what the birth of the child means. Old feuds have been reopened and new ones have been started.

At last you come to another matter of great importance, getting Vasch brought back from the dead. "Ahhh...yes, I do believe that we can help you out." The old priest smiles at you all and nods his head. "I will perform the ceremony myself...but you know that you will have to appease Gargul...that is not easy." With a last look at you he makes to leave the room and make preperations. "Make yourselves comfortable...if you must go out please be careful...outside we cannot protect you."

[It is possible to move out into town in disguise to have a look around. Maybe look into the last dream that Domi gave you. Get a idea of the lay of the land and all.]

Kanchana
Monday December 8th, 2003 4:39:09 PM

Kanchana is; and looks, very impressed with what Flat-top has said. She looks at Flat-top and nods, "yes, I hope that it was Vasch's shade you and I; at least, saw and not something evil... But it felt so cold and dark."
Looking glum she says, "my poor heart is confused and hurting... I only know that I too must do all I can to bring Vasch back and keep the Children safe."
Kanchana makes a whole-hearted effort to smile when Flat-top kisses her head. She whispers "no one has done that since my mother!" She gives Flat-top's hand a light squeeze.

Kanchana pauses in thought before saying, "I am afraid of the commoners reactions though. This place is far bigger than that village. I didn't like those snorts the first time I heard them!"

************************************************

Kanchana is very tense as she walks through the gates, and she continues to be extremely on edge until the Priest shows that he means well and serves food. However her tentitive 'relaxation' is shattered when she hears about the price on their heads! Her jaw almost literally hits the floor, she is that shocked! Kanchana puts the apple she just grabbed on the table; having missed the fruitbowl in her shocked and dazed state.
She registers what the Priest says about bringing Vasch back, but doesn't react to it immediately.
Kanchana clumsily excuses herself from the others' company still feeling dazed.
"I... I need to think. I will be praying for Vasch's safe return to us. I will include prayers to Gargul this time. Excuse me."
Kanchana gives a half-bow to the priest and leaves the room going to the room where Vasch is at.
Kanchana will spend several hours; if nothing pressing occurs or no one needs or wants to talk to her, praying and fasting.

Brahmah
Monday December 8th, 2003 6:27:13 PM

Brahmah is careful as the approach the temple, aware of everything, and everyone.
He enters last, taking one last look into the town.
As he's offered the food, he inspects it and kindly declines. "Can't be too careful. A 100,000 gold could keep a small city like this going for years... or a small temple. Money can corrupt even the simplist of folk." He eyes the old priest and gives an apologetic nod, so not to directly offend him. "I've learned not to trust blindly."

As the priest leaves, and no other cleric from the temple is about, Brahmah draws his weapons and sets them on his lap. "There, now I'm comfy." He pats his Falchion. "This seems too easy, the last clerics we came across tried to burn us."
He looks at the newest of the Chosen, Gecktar. "I realize Domi chose you, but you have free will too, you can leave and be safe and we won't think you cowardly. Alot of people will want that 100,000 gold! Several of us will probably die too... or again!"

Flat-top
Monday December 8th, 2003 9:19:26 PM

Flat-top watches the others, but knowing that the little one are restless and really want some fruits. Flat-top will eat an apple, "Hmm! These fruits are very good" then to the mothers he said "Not to worry the little one are safe."
To Leets, he tells him "Be careful Friend. I will watch the little ones here."
And to Brahmah, the centaur tell him,"You know Captain, I love it when you look to the bright side of life." Flat-top smiles.

Kenisha judges the priest's words carefully for signs of deception. It disturbs her that she has to be this untrusting of a fellow Taur, but the past few days have left her soul weary and scarred. (Sense Motive check=21)

Once the priest has left and Flat-top has bitten into the apple, Kenisha says, "I hope you don't think me morbid, my friend, but I think I shall hold off letting Domisha eat anything until we see how you fare with your apple."

(Heal check=15 on Flat-top)

Domisha for her part seems very intent on getting her fingers on some of the grapes on the table. Much to her mother's consternation.

Only after making sure that Flat-top hasn't suffered any ill effects from the food will Kenisha eat and allow Domisha to eat.

Taric
Tuesday December 9th, 2003 2:10:10 AM

Taric follows along, most of the time lost in thought. When they reach the temple though and hear the priest talking about their bounty, he notices the severe reactions from some of the other Chosen.

"Well, that's the first time I'm worth my wieight in gold. And more." grins Taric.

Getting serious right away he says to both mothers.
"Like Brahmah said, a lot of people will do a lot for 100,000 gold. I think it would be best if we form some kind of circle with the chairs. The children inside, the warriors outside, the spellcasters in the middle. That way in case something happens, the children will be safest."

When Kanchana leaves to go to the room where the body of Vasch remains, Taric will follow at a distance just to see where Kanchana is going. If possible, Taric will remain halfway between that room and the main room where the other Chosen are so he can keep any eye on both.

Brahmah
Tuesday December 9th, 2003 3:04:12 AM

The Captain roars with laughter at Kenisha's apple comment.

Leets
Tuesday December 9th, 2003 3:37:37 AM

The Centaur paladin nods at Brahmah's comment.

"100000! Wow...Somebody really want our heads...But who?"

Although a little bit surprised by the priests' greetings, Leets will remain doubtful...He hears their words with attention, and suddenly feels a new weight on his shoulders...

"The Taur people is splintering...I have to say I thought it could happen...That's already what happened with Bloran..."

"That's such a pity...It could have been the sign for us all to unite, and instead of it it could end in a blood bath..."

Leets will do as much as he can with his clerical knowledge to help for Vasch return.

"Vasch...You have to come back friend...You don't have the choice, because Domi will need all his Chosen for the task that wait for us..."

Flat-top
Tuesday December 9th, 2003 7:10:32 AM

Flat-top smiles at Kenisha as he takes a handful of grapes, eat them "Yes Mother Kenisha, That is very wise of you" Then his face grow sad, "You know I never said that I was wrong, when you had your union bless with our old friend. Now that Domisha is here,I see my old friend in her, I'm sorry that I ever doubted you."
Flat-top will go to see if Kanchana and Tauric are alright, just to see them deep in prayer.

Last Comments and a Petition. (DM Jim)
Tuesday December 9th, 2003 4:06:36 PM

The old priest smiles as he turns before leaving. "I do not take offense...you will find the food safe, but caution is always a necessity of life." With a last glance to the group he leaves. "I go to prepare for the ceremony to Gargul...those that want to attend can...actually you all might want to attend for a good showing and an offering to Gargul should be brought...something person and sentimental." He then leaves to the room that Vasch's body is being kept in.

Preparations are made for the ceremony to petition Gargul. Braziers are light around the room along with candles set up in ceremonial positions. The old priest uncovers Vasch's body and with special dyes starts to paint on the ritual tatoos that will help guide his spirit back with Gargul's grace. He smiles as he listens to the prayers of Kanchana to Gargul for the safe return of their friend. He sets Leets to the task of setting out those ceremonial offerings to Gargul and then have him take robes to The Chosen that want to attend.

Back in the room The Chosen have set up the chairs in a circle with thier backs facing each other. The children play in the middle of the floor with some blocks provided by one of the priests. The food has had no effect on Flat-top and is soon deemed safe to eat. You all relax as the ceremony is being prepared knowing that it will take at least an hour to get things set up.

At last it is time to start the ceremony and all those that want are present. The old priest stands in the middle of the room near an alter that Vasch's body is laying on. Two younger priests are standing to each side of him with incense holders in hand. The old priest starts reciting a prayer that tells of the glories of Gargul. With a strained look on his face he starts chanting the spell that will bring Vasch back. "Art lia monta hylina varta Gargul." His voice raises to a pitched level as he continues. "Oh great Gargul...master of the dead...I make a petition to you on behalf of The Chosen for the spirit of thier friend." Beads of sweat start to form on his face and he shakes as he pours more of his own energy into the ceremony. "This one they call Vasch has passed into your domain my Lord...he has unfinished business on this side and is needed...if it is within your wishes to let him back we would be honored." He falls back into some more praises of Gargul in the clerical tongue.

Gecktar
Tuesday December 9th, 2003 4:35:55 PM

"Thanks Brahmah for you consideration. But as you said Domi choose me. How can I avoid my fate. It will certainly catch me sooner or later. I think this mission is worth, even to the cost of my life or freedom. So I will follow you... blindly... as Domi show me the ways."

Gecktar will then assist the priest in the preparation of the ceremony, and will stay praying near Vasch.

Flat-top
Tuesday December 9th, 2003 5:47:26 PM

Flat-top stand there, like the stalion on guarding hid heard, But in side of him he wonders 'What came I offer to Gargul that is personal to me. I have nothing, I usaly give to the children we come across on our way.'
Uneasy when Leets come along with the robes and to collect the personal offerings. Flat-top will take a robe to put on, then takes his beloved Morning Star that Domi gave him when he was first chosen, with a lump in his chest, he tell Leets "Here take my Morning Star, that Domi gave me, offer it to Gargol for the life of Vaschh."
Flat-top will stand in prayer with the others.

Kanchana
Tuesday December 9th, 2003 6:01:39 PM

Kanchana will continue her prayers until Leets gives her a robe. She reguards the robe and mumbles something about it not being her style before carefully removing the carved wooden symbol of Domi from her bodice with a sharp knife. She cuts a small cut on her index finger and lets her blood flow onto the holy symbol before handing the wooden shield to Leets. She wraps her cut finger in a clean piece of cloth and dons the robe. "I only have that, my prayers and my blood to give that is valuable to me. I hope that it is a worthy enough gift," Kanchana says softly.
Kanchana will decline any offers of food - she will continue her fast until the ceremony is over. She will do all that she can to assist the Priest, including lending her shoulder for support if he gets dizzy or tired. Kanchana continues her prayer to Mother Wold, Father Tomi and Gargul - just silently now, as the Priest chants. Her gaze wanders between the Priest and Vasch's body.

Gargul [CDM Jerry]
Tuesday December 9th, 2003 6:51:12 PM

The room darkens noticably and mists begin to swirls around viciously as if a whirlwind was actually in the room.

A voice booms deafening all.

"WHO CALLS FOR THE LIFE OF THIS ONE. SHOW THE COURAGE OF THE CHOSEN, COME, AND FACE ME! I WILL HAVE ANSWERS!"

Then there is an INCREDIBLE booming of thunder.

The body begins to rise a shimmering gateway forms and the body begins to flow through it.

Kanchana
Tuesday December 9th, 2003 7:35:36 PM

Kanchana will immediately follow Vasch's body through the gate; especially since she holds herself partly responsible for his untimely demise. She is wary and a little afraid though, but shows no hesitation in haring off through the gate.

Kenisha and Domisha
Tuesday December 9th, 2003 11:23:48 PM

When Leets comes to hand out the robes and to collect the offerings, Kenisha bites her lower lip but stil she unbraids one lock and untangles the agate bead that was held there.

"Save for my precious Domisha, this bead is all I have left from Kalon. He gave it to me the day we declared ourselves bonded to one another." Kenisha places the bead in Leets' hand and curls his fingers around it tightly.

She then dons the robe provided.

Domisha, having watched her mother and the others giving things, clomps over and, with a winsome smile, hands Leets a half wilted/half dried crown of flowers she has been carrying for the past few days.

Kenisha (cont)
Tuesday December 9th, 2003 11:29:38 PM

(oops I forgot to reload the page before entering my post, so I didn't see Jerry's til now. And Netscape 7.1 is really starting to bug me. :( )

When the gateway forms, Kenisha turns to Vrurt, "Keep Domisha safe for me. This is something I must do." before making her way through the portal.

Flat-top
Wednesday December 10th, 2003 12:42:54 AM

Flat-top watches the ceremony and when the portals open, with his head bowed flat-top will follow the body to the other side. Whispering to himself 'This is the second time I came in here. But if it will help the Weimic Vasch.'

Taric
Wednesday December 10th, 2003 1:13:00 AM

Taric can't think of anything valuable to himself. Not many things had real value to him. Then he realizes it. His callligraphy tools. He hadn't been able to make any drawings the past weeks, but it was one of his most beloved things. Rumagging through his backpack he takes out the tools and 1 sheet of paper and hands them to Leets.

Taric then dons the robe and follows the others, standing in silent prayer until the gate opens. Taric hesitates just for a second, but then follow inside.

Brahmah
Wednesday December 10th, 2003 1:48:40 AM

As the Chosen enter, one after the other, the Captain dons a robe and enters behind Taric.
He whispers to the mage after seeing the hesitation, "This is new to me too."

As the Lord of the Dead speaks, a chill runs in Brahmah's spine, the same chill that caught him after fighting Raakis when he nearly died... a feeling of familiarity or deja vu.

"Lord, Brahmah Captain and leader of the Chosen, I am a simple ranger of the Wide Blue Waters in life and a warrior for Domi in spirit.... this Chosen of Domi, Vasch, is a mighty spirit and fell in defense of the Children of Domi and his fellow Chosen. He serves Domi in all things and will serve you well, if you choose to take him.
However, I don't believe he's ready for the Lands of the Dead. He will be a great asset in the coming conflicts."

The Captain unbraids the feather from his hair and offers it to Gargul.
"This belonged to a great bard, and friend, Zeoll the Greater... he's here with you, he might like this back... if you'd be ablidged, Lord. Tell him hello."

Leets
Wednesday December 10th, 2003 4:37:00 AM

A veil of sadness covers Leets eyes as he gathers the gifts for Gargul. He sincerely hope he won't have to perform such a ceremony anymore, but deep inside he also knows that the Chosen quest is not over..Not at all...

Once he has offered the gifts, he takes his own shield.

"Here the holy protector Domi himself once offered me at the Hearthold Keep, home of the Chosen and haven of the Reunited Heart. I'm greatly honored to offer it to you, allmighty Lord of the Deads, for it contains a holy sparkle of Domi's power..."

Leets put the shield near the altar, with all the other gifts.

As Gargul appears impressively, Leets has to gather his moral strength before making a first step in thed irection of the portal.

"Lord of the Deads! The Chosen won't let one of them alone in the dark before his time has come! We still have a lot to do, and by Domi's will we must bring back our brother Taur! I'm ready to face you for Vasch returns, for our quest is holy and righteous!"

Leets makes one last step to reach the portal.

Paw'caw[ceil]
Wednesday December 10th, 2003 6:27:24 AM

Paw'caw for once she will not take a comand from Brahmah, She's purch with the children and will not enter the Portal.

Managram{ceil}
Wednesday December 10th, 2003 6:53:33 AM

Managram follows Leets every where, except when it came time to enter the portal. Managram just sit there (in frount of the portal) and whines "Whines".

Gecktar
Wednesday December 10th, 2003 4:00:32 PM

Gecktar helps the priest for the ceremony and join his prayers to those of all other.
When the portal opens and the thunder sounds in the room, Gecktar feels a compulsion to go thru the it.
Standing up and taking his hammer in both hands he approches the portal.
"You know who I am as you are omniscient, you also knows that I faithfully serve Domi. This is his symbol that I give to you the strength of my faith is almost as strong as the steel of this weapon. And... I ... knows one thing : the fate of Vasch is by our side to fight the emisaries of Evil. Our fight is right as Leets said. We must gather all forces we can find. Vasch was one of them. May you, in your greatness and your glory find the way to our hearts to see the emptyness that the death of our friend leave."
After saying that he cross the portal leaving his hammer beyond.

Gargul [CDM Jerry]
Wednesday December 10th, 2003 7:55:12 PM

The assemblage comes through to the other side. Here the colors are brighter and the warmth of the sun coming in through the far end of the amphitheatre warming of both heart and bones.

The front of the amphitheatre is bleak and black filled with darkness making this a scene of extreme contrasts.

The body floats towards the throne and stops there.

A voice booms, "HOW DID THIS CHOSEN ONE DIE AND WHO CLAIMS RESPONSIBILITY FOR HIS DEMISE?

"SPEAK TO ME OF THE MANNER OF THIS EVENT. I WOULD HEAR YOU VOICE IT."

Upon the throne, floating in his spiritual form is a single eye. None can look into it directly without seeing his own mortality.

Domi [CDM Jerry]
Wednesday December 10th, 2003 8:02:05 PM

A second immortal voice speaks walking in from the bright golden fields. Wearing a monk robe, he approaches.

"I TOO WOULD HEAR THE VOICING OF THIS TALE. SPEAK IT TRUTHFULLY AND SPEAK IT WELL -- FOR I AM DISTURBED BY RECENT EVENTS AND WOULD SEE WHAT FORM OF COURAGE CAN BE DEMONSTRATED THIS DAY!"

Domi does not look happy. His hands close and clench as if he wishes an opponent was in those massive hands.

Brahmah
Wednesday December 10th, 2003 11:52:39 PM

The Captain's eyes get large and teary as he sees Domi, upset and chastizing the Chosen.
"LORD, I am the leader of the Chosen and hereby responsible for our actions."
He steps forward, placing himself inbetween the Chosen and the Gods.

"I suppose the incidents started in the village where your blessed ones were born. The villagers there weren't happy with what they called 'the Ambominations', so Vrurt the mother of one child ran to save herself and newborn.
Meanwhile, the Chosen had been in the center courtyard fending off the advancing villagers, who wanted Kenisha and Domisha dead as well, so we set an escape and left in search of Vrurt and the child.
The village was damaged in the escape, but not directly by us.
We fled to an island, where...wait, we ran acrossed some pilgrims who came with gifts for the children.
Then we came to the island, Lord Domi, were Vrurt befriended a dryad who was protecting her. Little did we know that the Mailed Fist followed us from the village. There was parlay, then a battle, led by myself and the leader of the Fist called Miroband. The assault on us was brutal, they had archers, a cleric or two and a wizard, all who bombarded us fast and heavy. We were disorganized and ... well, lacking cooperation. But, eventually, we proveiled but were badly hurt. Miroband escaped in a magical fashion, but not before leaving his fellows behind, like a coward.
Vasch did not fall there. All of us were hurt.
I commanded the withdrawl from the dryad island and was in such a hurry to get away because we had no idea if he'd return with reinforcements, I failed to have our healers work their healings. No efforts were made to heal in the escape or that night when we constructed a raft for the mothers and children.
The next day we set out, raft and all, down river.
Vasch was our advanced scout, he seemed tense, calls were made to him, he continued on.
There was an ambush set by six wemic. As far as I know, they weren't associated with Miroband.
Vasch was the first of us encountered. To the best of my knowledge, he attacked with little hesitation and was too fast.
Seconds later he fell, it happened soo fast, Lord. It could have been prevented, but even now, I don't know how!"
Brahmah's head falls to a bow.
"I failed. You. Them."
"I'll do anything. I do not know your will, Lord, do you want Vasch with you?"
Brahmah hesitates.
"Do you want me?"

Kanchana
Thursday December 11th, 2003 2:24:22 AM

Kanchana looks at both Gods with wide eyes and quickly averts her gaze to the floor. She listens very carefully to Brahmah's words. When he finishes she steps up next to him and politely clears her throat; she looks up at the Gods for a brief second before dropping her gaze.

"Exalted High Fathers - I, Kanchana of the Vuai pride, Warden of Mother Wold, petty wizard and Called to serve High Father Tomi and His people, have need to speak as well. Captain Brahmah has made a few omissions to protect me. There was only one 'healer' among us then; me. I too have failed You, the Chosen and especially Vasch." She will not look at Brahmah as she stands next to him, knowing that he will not be very pleased that she; once again, has defied his leadership. Kanchana holds only herself responsible for what happend to Vasch and will not have anyone else take the blame.

Her voice is filled with anguish and shame as she continues, "That night after battle when we rested, I offered what healing I could give. I am no cleric so mostly my healing comes from herbs and mundane means, or magic items. Few accepted my offer. I am guilty of not making them accept it. I am guilty of selfishness... I was tired and heart-weary; I did not care enough. ...I didn't want to fight the humans... they do not understand what had happend, and should never have interfered... Most of all I am guilty of pettiness, my Healing wand is my own and I wanted to conserve it's uses."
Kanchana goes silent for a moment fighting a lump in her throat and tears. "I utterly failed my calling as a Healer due to miserliness. Vasch payed the price that I should have paid. I wish that he should live. If one should take Vasch's place in Gargul's pridelands then it should be me not Captain Brahmah or Vasch. I will do so willingly if that is what is needed."

Kanchana glances askance for a heartbeat or two and reachs over and gives Brahmah's closest hand a quick, light squeeze before clasping her hands in front of her again. "High Fathers, Captain Brahmah is a good captain. He is not at fault for my unruliness. I do not listen well. I know that right now he is mentally shaking his head at my continued insubordinations. I will not have him pay for my faults. The Chosen and the children need his guidance. I, however, am no longer necessary now that we have a true Healer Called to stand with us." Kanchana is being utterly sincere and is certain that she alone has no real role of importance to fill. She repeats to herself 'Father Tomi loves all of his children. Mother Wold loves all of her children. They will see that Vasch is safe.' She ignores for the moment the terrible fact that Father Tomi is very upset.

Kenisha
Thursday December 11th, 2003 6:23:02 AM

Kenisha steps forward next; bowing deeply before the Gods.

"Divine Fathers, I too must accept some responibility. In my pride, I did not think to stay behind at Hearthold Isle while the others went to find the child we saw in our dreams. Because of this, we were not near to Vrurt when she had her child; forcing her to flee on her own with her child. Because of my weakened state and my child, the Chosen could not catch up to Vrurt as quickly as they would have without me."

She falls silent for a moment then bows again. "You Wills be Done."

Flat-top
Thursday December 11th, 2003 7:36:13 AM

Flat-top steps up next, with his head bowed, he speaks "My Lord Domi, you knoe me very well, I have served your wishes with out question. But it was not our Captain fault, it was ours. I build the raft that had taken thr children down the stream. When we came upon the ambush those weimic set up. I had to stand beside the raft on the ground that I was the last wall they had to go through, I had to protect those little one. But that's no excuse to let a fine fighter of yours die."

Then Flat-top turns to Gadgul, "Lord of the land of the Dead, You hold four of the Weimic we killed, so that they would not get to the children, They ambush and killed the hero of the Chosen, he gave up his life for the sake of the Unitaurs. Vasch did his best with out question, he held off these cowards untill the rest of us arrived. Please I beg of you, give Vasch back to the Chosen, for the job is not done yet and take me instead. I will do what ever you decied."

Taric
Thursday December 11th, 2003 9:13:42 AM

Taric tries to look up, but seeing the anguish in Imod and the eye of Gargul, he casts his eyes down quickly an when nodoby else speaks, says, barely audible above a whisper:

"I am just a simple Taur. I am to blame for what happened. Putting The Art higher than your and our goal, unifying all the Taurs under your way, my Lord Imod. Thinking myself bigger than to use every resource that was available to me. For not studying hard enough to prevent the situations that arose, instead of fighting them. I've learned humbleness from those events, but I know I've too much to learn to continue on. Vasch always was ready and is too valuable to the Chosen. I'll take his place here with you, oh Lord Gargul, if only you could let Vasch fullfill the destiny he has....."

Taric's voice trails away. A single tear forms in his lefteye and slowly slides across his cheek. He is trembling light, but unmistakenly. It is obvious all this could be too much for him.

Leets
Thursday December 11th, 2003 1:04:45 PM

After his fellows speak and say their own point of view, Leets falls on his four knees. True tears flows on his cheek, and his hands are tightly joined in a prayer.

However, when Taric finishes his last word, he stands up, wipes his nose, and firmly closes his fists.

"Holy Father...Allmighty Lord of the Deads...If a stranger could see this scene, surely he would be surprised to see two gods facing only a handful of humble servants. However, when he would know that a brave, blind and devoted sacrifice is at the very center of this event, he would probably understand."

"Holy Father, Vasch died bravely serving you. I now see that a legion of opponents is rising from the darkness of evil to step accross the way of our holy quest. And Vasch is only one victim of the war that is taking place..."

"I also claim responsability for the dramatic event that led to the lost of a brave servant of Your Will. Yourself, Holy Father, offered me a sparkle of your holy power to grant protection to our fellowship in this holy quest. Protection, that's what I, myself, should grant to my comrades in arms...My friends...Spiritual protection, against the mists of darkness that are about to rise on our way...And physical protection, so that everybody reaches the end of the journey..."

"I failed, Holy Father, because the doubt has darkened my faith. There is, Holy Father, too much taur blood on my hands for me to keep in mind our final, holy goal. There are, Holy Father, too much Taur brothers standing on my way, their eye blind to your miracle, and their ear deaf to your holy words. There are, Holy Father, too many Taur Brothers who want the death of hope, the death of innocent babies...Too much weight, Holy Father, for my heart and soul. I doubted, and failed to protect my friends. To serve your holy servant."

"Because of this, Holy Father, I could offer my life for Vasch's life. But I won't."

"Holy Father Domi, Allmighty Lord of the Deads, we need all the Chosen in those troubled time. Whoever they are. Captain, healer, living and deads. The storm that clouds my faith, Holy Father, can only be cleared by the hope of better days, and I want all my friends to be there, I, want to be there, to see this day when it will come. I won't beg you, I don't deserve anything. I only trust your wisdom and your divine nature: the Wold needs the Chosen. Now, all together, for the best, for hope."

Leets bows, and steps backward. Some anger can be heard in his voice, and blood stains his hands. He will then remain silent, waiting for the gods reaction.

Gecktar
Thursday December 11th, 2003 1:25:02 PM

Gecktar stays silent. Dwarfed by the presence of his Lord and Gargul. No need to say that if he is here significate that he accept the fate Domi weave for him. Be it staying here in Gargul's kingdom to help Vasch rebirth to the earth.
No need to say that everyone in the group make some fault that can designate him for being responsible of the death of Vasch, even him as he don't heal them as soon as he saw they was wounded.
No need to say that the responsabilities are somewhere else...
No need to say that beyond the ambush, sapping the effort of the chosen hide in shrouded darkness Marteaus and his emisaries.
No need to say that if Vasch fall, it's because on the dark schemes of Marteaus making everything to stop the chosen as their quest is right.
No need to say that each chosen is a important piece on the chessboard and that the mission of Vasch isn't finished...

No need to say... I love you my lord... And I will give my life ten times if I could. But I will always hope that only one will be sufficient to accomplish the quest you give me, with the strength and courage you give to me.

Gargul [CDM Jerry]
Thursday December 11th, 2003 10:29:46 PM

Gargul broods. The eye floats. It then desolves into a tan skinned man in travelling clothes.

He stands. And stares at Kanchana. Nothing is said out loud, but there is communication in that stare. Communication that says that things will get tougher. Combats more deadly. Opponents bolder. She must realize that healing belongs to all. He charges her in that moment to see that the party healing is better organized. That all have potions. That all who can heal, even thieves who can sometimes make such things work, carry ample healing. He charges her to keep her party as fit and ready to defend themselves as is possible at all times.

Then the God of Death and Life smiles and looks to Domi, The God of Courage.

"THEY WEAR YOUR COURAGE WELL INDEED.'

Domi [CDM Jerry]
Thursday December 11th, 2003 10:39:32 PM

"I AM PROUD.

"I WAS ANXIOUS ABOUT PRIDE. BUT I SEE ONLY DEDICATION. THEY WILL LEARN. THIS IS A HARD LESSON.

"HOWEVER IT IS NOT THEM THAT TROUBLES ME. IT IS THE EVIL THAT RAISES ITS HEAD AGAINST MY TAURS! THE GODS OF TESTING THINK THEY CAN TEST ME ANE MINE!

"HEAR ME, MY CHOSEN AND BEWARE. THE TIME OF TESTING IS ABOUT TO BEGIN.

"TAURS MAY FORSAKE YOU. I WILL NOT."

GARGUL [CDM Jerry]
Thursday December 11th, 2003 10:45:18 PM

"NOR WILL I. YOU HAVE EARNED THE LIFE OF YOUR FRIEND WITHOUT CONSEQUENCE.

"YOU HAVE REMINDED ME THIS DAY WHY I STRIVE SERVE THE NOBLE RACES AS GOD. IT HAS BEEN AN HONOR TO RETURN YOUR COMPANION TO YOU. MEETING YOU HAS FILLED ME WITH PRIDE.

"LIVE WELL!

"NOW GO!

The Return of a Friend [DM Jerry]
Thursday December 11th, 2003 10:49:24 PM

Vasch sits up slowly. Looking around he takes in the contrast of darkened amphitheatre and sunlight beyond.

He is alive.

[Jerry: Wow friends! You've impressed me with your roleplay here. Let me reward you for this with two wands of Cure Serious Wounds cast at 15th level. Use them! [grinning]]

Brahmah
Friday December 12th, 2003 12:21:29 AM

Watching Vasch sit up, the minotaur helps his friend up and starts to leave.
He turns to his Gods.
"Lords." He says simply, with a tilt of his head.

Thinking to himself, 'Domi is Proud of us? An Honor for the Death God?' These words would have great meaning to the Captain, until he makes his final journey to the Lands of the Dead. Things will change for the Captain...

Kanchana
Friday December 12th, 2003 12:46:29 AM

Kanchana feels compelled to look up, and looks straight at Gargul in his new aspect. Though nothing is said she 'instinctively' realizes that he is tasking her with the health of the others, and that she needs to change her way of thinking. She knows that she has a huge task ahead of her, one she intends to take very seriously. This is pretty profound and Kanchana is feeling rather overwhelmed, but determined to learn from this. Kanchana thinks "we are going to need more healing wands. I wonder who else can use them? I will ask..."
Kanchana shakes her head slightly; as if to clear it, "High Fathers, thank you so very much for this greatest gift of life for Vasch!" Kanchana is beaming and gives both Gods a low, very reverential bow. Then she hurries over to Vasch and giving him a big hug. She also helps Vasch to leave.
Kanchana thinks about what Gargul and Tomi have said about being proud and being honored, and she has no words for how that makes her feel. It is so profound and full of meaning that her poor heart and head just can't quite fathom it all. Proud... honored... wow! She will never forget this experience for as long as she lives, nor the charge given her.

(If Kanchana is given the two wands after Gargul charges her with the safe-keeping of the others health, then she will make sure that Gecktar gets one of them ASAP after exiting the portal. She figures that it would be right for Gecktar and her to have them to dispense for the Chosen, as they will probably be the primary healers. After that she will hear who else can use a wand of healing and will see if whatever wands the Chosen have can be split up so that everyone who can will have a chance to help a team-mate in need of healing.)

Brahmah

"Kanchana, I can use one. Though, I'll be on the front line o'battle and will likely NOT be using it." He smiles.

Kenisha
Friday December 12th, 2003 2:50:42 AM

Tears spring to Kenisha's eyes as she hears those words from the Gods. She bows very low then as Vasch sits up she clasps her hands over her mouth and trots over to him, resting a hand on his shoulder.

(OOc- Actually, having someone in the thick of battle with a wand isn't a bad idea. Just like in real life with our First Responders, the first person to notice there is a problem is usually the closest one there.)

Yes I agree. I would like to start an email discussion on this topic shortly. Everyone willing....
I think that everyone who can use a wand should have a CLW wand (they are the cheapest; so far more accessible to purchase).

Flat-top
Friday December 12th, 2003 7:40:36 AM

This is the third time he stands before his Lord Domi, and it is still the same feeling. As Lord Gargul passes by, almost the same feeling for this God, Flat-top will have a more of an understanding of the God of Death.
As Vasch rises and come back to them. He bows to the Gods "Thank you for our Brother." Then leaves with the rest of the Taurs.

Leets
Friday December 12th, 2003 11:57:05 AM

The Centaur paladin runs at Vasch when he comes back, and help him stand on his legs as he realize his fellow is alive.

"Oh! Oh thank you Allmighty Lord of the Deads!"

He bows with a whole new respect at Domi, and nods.

"Holy Father, once more your words knew how to touch our hearts and soul in those troubled time. Hearing from your mouth that an ennemy is rising made my doubts a new faith. This opponent now has a face, and he will soon now that the sparkle of holy power Domi grants to his servants can become a fiery fire..."

"Thanks you, Allmighty Lord. Thank you for all..."

OOC: Gecktar could be good choice for the "first line healer". He's new and we haven't discussed his role, but he seems to have both fighting and healing abilities, no?

"Holy

Vasch
Friday December 12th, 2003 2:32:51 PM

With a great gasp, Vasch's eyes open. he sits up with help of the others. "The pridelands," he pauses, "They are beautiful." He looks up to all the others, "I felt a pull, a task left undone. At the time I didn't know what it was. As I ran through the grasslands and with the my ancestors, I felt it. The pull became incredible. It was all I could do to run with the others." He stops and thinks. It is apparent that he still has some memories of the beyond. "I remember breaking away from the others." Vasch looks at Brahmah, "They just smiled as if they knew; they knew my time had not yet come." Vasch's gaze, after looking at the others, fixes with Kanchana. "I ran and I ran. The once lush pridelands moved faster and faster until it look like a blur around me. Faster and faster I moved; the sights around me slowly became black. Everywhere was black except for a small bit of white out in front of me. It was small at first, very small. I had to concentrate to even see it. Closer and closer I got; larger and larger it became until the white replaced the black and I opened my eyes here before all of you."

He stands and accepts the greetings of the others. "I'm glad to be back with you, and I'm sorry for any worry I caused. I can only hope to be worthy of the gift, the second chance you have given me."

Vasch turns to Tomi and Gargul. Kneeling he speaks, "Thank you my lords."

Gecktar
Friday December 12th, 2003 4:16:25 PM

As usually with simple words Domi gives all the Chosen strength and courage to fight the enemy.
His eyes filled with tears Gecktar kneel before the two Gods wording in his mind thanks for the returned life of Vasch.
He then take the portal back. When in the temple they put in action the words of Gargul to have better healing strategy.

OOC : I have a wand full of CLW. As a cleric I can take the role of the "first line healer". Not bad in fight but above all able to provide some enhancements for the fighters... and of course some healing.

Back in the cloister. (DM Jim)
Friday December 12th, 2003 4:19:41 PM

Back in the inner cloister of the temple you find yourselves embracing your returned friend. The old priest smiles wearily as he leans on the two younger priests. "I take it that you found favor with my lord Gargul." With a nod the two young priests start to lead him out of the room and most obviously to his bed. With a last look back the priest gestures to the tokens that you had given to Gargul. "Your show of faith was strong...these things belong to you still." As he is walking away you hear him speaking lightly. "A test that they have passes with admiration...more though I see for them."

Shortly after the old priest is taken to his bed one of the two young priests comes back. "I am to take you to a room that you may get some rest at." With a pause at the door he makes sure that you are ready to leave, he then leads you to a nice room with several taur type beds set up on the floor. You find the children already alseep with Vrurt standing watch over them. She consciously switches the morningstar in her hand as she smiles to the group. You all settle down and get some much needed rest after a meeting with two gods.

Early the next morning you find yourselves awaken by the same young priest who takes you all to a table set up with food. The old priest enters though slowly, still feeling the effects of yesterday. He smiles as he takes a seat at the table. "You are in better spirits this morning I see." He takes some of the biscuits and eats them slowly, after spreading a fruit paste on them. "Gargul sent me a message in my dreams last night that two are waiting for you in the streets. The liontaur is eating in the central square looking the bright warriors and the other is darker than blackness." With a shudder he takes another bite of his biscuit. "I fear this is a bad omen." The rest of the meal he is mostly silent. With the well wishes of the old priest and several others of the clergy here they see you off on your quest.

The streets are a bustle with taurs going about thier regular business. Noone seems to make a commotion about you walking down the street. Some of them do point and stare but overall they seem to shy away. Then you spot the liontaur from your dream and you can almost make out the hammer floating over his head. He looks up as if sensing your presence and his destiny.

[Here is your entrance Tunc, make the best of it.]

[A long post this time to move you on a little, but feel free to post to anything that I have done in this one from the beginning.]

Tunc - Hello
Friday December 12th, 2003 5:54:06 PM

OOC: Hello everyone. You have done indeed amazing in front of the Gods. It is very nice to be a part of the group. I am at your service. Also open to any feedback or suggestion, as I am new here. Thank you also for the short summary of the recent events to the Gods. It has been also helpful for me.

Toros
Friday December 12th, 2003 6:25:00 PM

Toros looks around, the people, streets, buildings... all seeming to be familiar to him. But cannot identify the source of this familiarity: Was it because he came here before, confuses with another place he went, or even saw in his dream. Anyway, this feeling of strange familiarity makes him to perceive anything around him much lively than normal. He feels that even if it was not in the past, after this time today and this place will be a very vivid memory in his mind and soul!

What he was doing here? He does not know, yet minds neither the question nor the answer.

Then, he recognizes the group of Taurs. From his viewpoint they are at the center of attention, moving fluently in the street to his direction, as if the crowd is giving way for them to walk towards and eventually meet him.

Kanchana  d20+5=13 d20+3=8
Saturday December 13th, 2003 6:18:32 PM

Kanchana will take back her symbol of Domi, she will not clean her dried blood from it. Later that evening she will wrap herself in her cloak and take off her bodice so she can sew the shield back on. As she sews; and if no one else has gone to sleep yet, Kanchana will mention what she noticed a while back about the wands. "I looked at the wands we collected from our foes and they look somewhat similar to my own wand. It is expensive to determine exactly what a magic item can do. Does anyone have any ideas on how to find out what wands that we may have?"
Kanchana takes a look at her half finished work, "I think that it might be an idea that anyone among us who can use a wand of healing should have one, just in case. I gave Gecktar one of the wands that Gargul gave us. The lesser wands are expensive, but still accessible for us I suppose..." She pauses as she continues to sew. "What do you think? I mean I still think that we should have designated primary Healers, but it cannot do any harm to have others do what they can either."
Kanchana finishes her stitching and carefully puts her clothing back on under her cloak.
Unless prompted Kanchana will not speak more of this matter until everyone has thought it over. She will go to bed early if given the chance.

************************************************

In the morning Kanchana will eat a light breakfast. She stares at the priest in surprise as he mentions the two Taurs that she also dreamed of. "Bad omen?? Do you have any clue as to what that dream may mean Honored One?" Kanchana shivers as she thinks back to her dream.
Before leaving the table Kanchana will pack herself a bag lunch just in case.

************************************************

When everyone leaves the temple (heading for the docks maybe?) Kanchana puts on her cloak, but doesn't pull up the hood. Her uneasiness returns and she seems quite jittery. She doen't bother really looking around at people and things much. Kanchana is bothered that people are avoiding the Chosen like a plague.
Kanchana just follows the others to where they are going, until... She stops dead in her tracks as she thinks she sees the Wemic from her dream. Kanchana just stands there staring at him, even after he had looked up from whatever he was doing. She takes a deep breath and begins to cast about for the Dark One that she saw in the dream too. Kanchana feels fear whelming up in her and her vision starts to blur. She hurries to catch up with the others, while trying to keep an eye on the Wemic that she thinks she may have seen before.

((OOC: Greetings Tunc! Welcome to the Chosen of Domi. I hope that you have a great time here.))

Taric
Sunday December 14th, 2003 1:07:34 AM

Taric is silent. The meeting with Imod and Gargul has left his mind spinning. He now spends every minute he has trying to contemplate what exactly happened in the past hours.

Although he is confused about a lot of things, one decision has entered his mind firmly now. He will use the more destructive forces of The Art if that would further the goals of Imod. He would need to get a hold of some scrolls or maybe even a wand. But he knows for sure he will do it, if only to prevent the loss of one of the Chosen.

Deep in thought he doesn't notice anything in his surroundings, just following the other Chosen. Until, as if by an invisible force, his head is lifted upwards and Taric looks at the oh so familiar Taur from the dream. Taric blinks a few times, but the Taur is still there. Shaking his head to clear his thoughts, Taric looks at the Taur, but makes sure he is not staring him down. He stands at ease, waiting for the Taur to introduce himself.

Then Taric remembers the bad omen the pirest talked about. Taric looks around nervously, his invisibility spell on the tip of his tongue, ready to disappear from view so he could better do his job.

Vasch
Sunday December 14th, 2003 11:31:21 AM

Vasch as with many of the others seems to be reflecting on different things. Vasch's mind drifts occasionally back to the pridelands, but he finds that the memories he had but a moment ago have faded from his mind a faint reminder of the afterlife. Soon it is all nothing more than a feeling he can't quite put his finger on.

Vasch sees Kanchana looking at her symbol. He approaches her slowly as not to disturb her thought. Moving to face her he says softly, "May I?" He says reaching for her symbol. He begins to clean if she lets him. "It wasn't your fault...or that of any of the others." He pauses to take her hand. "I'll have to be more careful. I can remember nothing of the pridelands..." He lifts her chin, "I know this...there was a feeling of peace. A peace I'd like to bring here to not only our people, but all of Tomi's children."

He finishes cleaning her symbol, if she had let him, and returns it. He smiles at her, "There are enough frowns in this world. Smile, and let us be an example to all." He turns and leaves.

Flat-top
Sunday December 14th, 2003 2:47:41 PM

Flat-top advances apon the two weimic, He puts an arm apon each of their shoulders, "I hate to break up this lovely moment, I know Brother Taur, Kanchana is very beautiful and let me tell you a very good dancer. But if you look over there near those tables, there is a very familure figure of a liontaur. Does he not look familure to you? The one in a dream?? Let's us go over to him and introduce ourselves, and see if he's the Chosen of Domi!"
Flat-top trots over to the Taur, "Hello! my name is Flat-top,(flat-top extends his hand) I beleive we have something in common?? But first we should go to see about a ship. Want to come along?"

Toros
Sunday December 14th, 2003 5:29:42 PM

Toros replies Flat-Top with a nice smile in his face. (also extending his hand) "Hello, I am Toros. Nice to meet you." He also greets Kanchana, Taric, Vasch and the others one by one, as they approach. "Going to see a ship sounds nice, I will be happy to join you"

When they start walking together initially, he kindly tells about himself, replying any questions and shows a sincere interest to learn more about the group in general.

Kenisha  d20+4=18 d20+2=9
Sunday December 14th, 2003 11:40:11 PM

Kenisha is nervous and skittish as the group leaves the temple. She keeps Domisha close to her and motions Vrurt to stay close as well.

Her heart practically leaps into her throat as she sees the wemic from her dream; knowing that the dark Taur is very close now. She leans close to Vrurt and whispers, "We may run into trouble, if we do, take the children and get them under cover. But don't go too far, we have to know where you are in order to defend you."

She then moves in closer to the others, smiling at the wemic.

Brahmah
Sunday December 14th, 2003 11:40:47 PM

OOC: Welcome Tunc!

Brahmah tells Vasch, "It's good that your back."

Turning to Kanchana, "Warden, don't be sad, you've met the Gods. That is a reason to be happy."

When they cross Toros, Brahmah just approaches, saying nothing at first.
He stands, with arms crossed, looking around alert for the Dark taur o the Dream.
Finally, he speaks. "I'm Brahmah, Captain of the Chosen. Have you been followed or attacked here, or on your way here?" He steps towards the taur and just looks at him, with no emotion.
"You freely would join a group you don't know, Toros?"

Toros
Monday December 15th, 2003 2:18:09 AM

While he takes Flat-Tops`s welcome so naturally, Brahmah`s alertness and seriousness suprises Toros.

"If I am invited, why not!! And I don`t think I have a better thing to do at the moment."

"Anyway nice to see meet you Captain and all. Actually, you all look familiar to me but I do not know how. Usually, just the opposite happens," a big smile appears in Toros`s face, "I am found to be very familiar by the people I meet". He becomes to feel happy for realizing this, without imagining how this expression could be understood by these for the first-time-met people.

"And you said `attack` or `being followed`, no, no such thing has happened", Toros tries to provide a satisfactory reply to Brahmah, as a show of his respect, but it is absolute that this does not make so much sense for him.

Brahmah
Monday December 15th, 2003 3:56:39 AM

The sereal nature of the last few days has taken a toll on Brahmah, but this isn't physically obvious, until he snaps out the round of questioning to Toros.
The Captain has had several life altering events happen to close to each other that he is unable, presently, to oganize them.
Knowing now that the Two value life even more than himself, hits Brahmah like a mast driven by gale winds. The lives of the Chosen are far more valuable than the gold he carries, the falchion his father gave him and even the clothes on his back. He would lay down his life for even the lowest of taurs, be them begger or brigand.

"I'm sorry for the inquiries Toros, you are quite welcome among the Chosen. We must be cautious, more now than ever before."
Brahmah smiles, that very familiar childlike smile.
"O'course your welcome and familiar to me as well."
He roars with laughter and embraces Toros with a huge hug. "Come. We are off! Ever eaten ship food? How are you sea legs?" He wraps a massively muscular arm around Toros shoulder and walks.

Toros
Monday December 15th, 2003 4:35:36 AM

Toros returns the hug and roar as well, "ha, ha, I like all kind of food, but who is the cook, you? Flat-top? Or any of you.., ah please give me some time to learn all of your names, and forgive me, if I make any mistakes at the beginning. It is hard to memorize them all at once, let me recall Captain, Brahmah; Flat-Top and ..."

Leets
Monday December 15th, 2003 6:48:41 AM

Leets feels as if many things changed inside of him since he met Domi once more...
He now knows what task he has to among - and with the Chosen...

When walking the streets of Castle Violet, he mostly looks around the group for any appearance of the Dark Taur...Although he politely nods at Toros, he trust Brahmah to welcome him among the group.

"Flat-Top, do you remember from where he arrived...I mean, the dark one?"

Even if his weapons are not in hand, Leets stands ready to face a sudden danger...

"Yes! Leets, I remember in my dream of Toros sitting at a table, not talking just staring a head of him. A strange feeling came oner me, I turn around and there he was. The dark figure was in back of me??. So I think we better watch our backs." He is telling Leet as he listens and serches the taurs around them.

Monday December 15th, 2003 8:51:56 AM

Vasch turns from Kanchana and grabs Flat-top by the shoulders, "A ship, let us find one and go to this sanctuary. I am eager to see it."

"I'm glad to be back." Vasch responds to Brahmah placing a hand on the Captain's shoulder.

Vasch makes it a point to go see Domisha and Kenisha. "Glad to see you and Domisha are safe." He looks down to the young taur and smiles. "Have you been good for your mother?" He looks up and smiles to Kenisha then turns away.

"Toros...hmmm..." Vasch eyes up the new-commer. "I'm unfamiliar with you, but if the others welcome you then, welcome."

"Let's find a ship, then I'd like a drink and a large hunk of mutton. One would think that I'd not have much of an appetit, but I'm starving." He follows the others.

Gecktar
Monday December 15th, 2003 4:20:42 PM

Gecktar warmly welcome Vasch. "Even if I don't know you well, your return lighten my heart..."

He then follow the group outdoor. Before leaving he takes the wand that Kanchana gives him, and gives his own wand to Brahmah. "This is a wand that will cure light wounds. It's brand new and it maybe of some use in the middle of fight or even after. May you haven't to use it Brahmah."

Now outdoor his sense are alert as the priest tell them of dark omen. When they encounter the taur they all see in their dream he greet him : "Welcome among us, know that coming with the chosen of Domi isn't an easy task... I can testify of it even if I'am the younger of all chosen... except you know..." and he concludes with a warm smile.

(OOC1 : this is a wand of cure light wound with 50 charges... never used !)
(OOC2 : I had in mind to sacrifice my hammer for gaining access to the gods... Do we loose items we want to give up ?)

Toros
Monday December 15th, 2003 5:11:21 PM

Toros tries to catch up with what all the others talking about. But only thing he could get for himself was `there is another Taur they are expecting, a dark one, which makes everyone alert`. He also tries to ready himself as much as possible to an unxpected encounter, making all his senses wide open.

The docks. (DM Jim)
Monday December 15th, 2003 5:51:57 PM

Walking and talking to the newest member of the group, you start to get to know him better. Surprisingly it is an easy time of feeling easy around Toros and you know that Domi had something to do with that.

You have just entered the center of a four way intersection in one of the streets and you can see the docks ahead. Suddenly all the noises around you suddenly stop and when you look around the people have taken to the surrounding buildings. The heavy wooden tables have been left emptied with food still on them and chairs are laying on the ground. Straight ahead of you steps out a person, that you notice as the cleric from the Mailed Fist. "Well if it isn't The Chosen...heretics wanted by the church." He spits on the ground and smiles a feral grin. "Do not worry...I will take your bodies in to the church and the children will be tested to prove thier falsity to all the races." With a last glance to you he whistles and a group of minotaurs step out of their hiding places. "Bounty Hunter you will get your bounty from the church...I just need the bodies."

Two large minotaurs have stepped out to stand beside the cleric grinning as they do. You also see another pair of minotaurs standing behind you thier weapons ready for battle. Another two step out from the way to the right of you and they seem pretty content with the arrangments. The leader near the cleric nods to the cleric and then twirls his finger in the air. "Cut them all down but the children...then we get paid well for an easy job."

Past the cleric and the two minotaurs ahead of you standing near the docks is a minotaur dressed all in black with a green slime pattern to his armor. He is leaning on a large sword that he has his shield hanging on. The shield depicts a hammer smashed by a green filled vial. He makes no move to help or hinder the fight in any way, he just seems to be there to watch. Standing beside him is a male liontaur with the loveliest snow leopard pattern to his fur, that is a striking match to his all black clothing. He points in The Chosen's direction and seems to be talking to the large male minotaur, who only nods.

Flat-top
Monday December 15th, 2003 6:30:34 PM

Flat-tops Blood runs cold, he was afraid this would happen, "Well, Why am I not suprise. The Mailed Fist. Do you see This Cleric of the Coward of the land, he left his men to die while he made his exit. Captain do we do the Circle of Life?". Flat-top whispers to Kenisha "Get the children down low, Mothers and Magic users in the middle, then listen to Brahmah's orders."

Kanchana  d20+5=11 d20+3=18 d20+4=24 d20+4=10
Monday December 15th, 2003 6:34:12 PM

Kanchana will let Vasch try and clean her blood from her shield of Domi before sewing it back onto her bodice. She nods as she listens to Vasch's words. "Let us hope that we have a chance to bring peace to Father Tomi's prides." Kanchana blushes at Flat'top's words and looks flattered.

************************************************

Kanchana hurries to catch up with the others after her initial shock of seeing Toros. She will walk towards the docks and not say anything amidst the others talking. Kanchana takes it for granted that someone will introduce her. She keeps an eye on Toros; it's curiousity - not suspicion. She will also keep an eye out for any black dressed Taurs.

Kanchana slows her pace as it grows eerily quiet and things seem to move slower - like in her dream... She looks around and sees that they are in a four way intersection. Kanchana suddenly remembers the tactic the Chosen first used when fighting the Wolfmaster (see below). "Everyone form a circle! Children, mothers and arcane spellcasters to the center fighters form a ring!" Kanchana calls out just loud enough for the other Chosen to hear (she hopes).
She casts about and sees that they are mostly surrounded... it seems to her that a tight defensive circle is their only chance until an opening is created. Everyone should be within touching distance of eachother (more or less). Kanchana whispers a prayer to Mother Wold and Father Tomi that they may keep the children safe...
Kanchana fails to notice any symbols, or the black clad Taur. She doesn't even recognize the cleric of the Mailed Fist.

(Spot 11, (Intelligence 18, Wisdom 24: to remember the tactic used against the Wolfmaster when she first joined the Chosen), Wisdom 10 failed to recognize the merc cleric)

Kanchana - addendum

Kanchana starts to cast Mage Armor on herself as she moves into position.

Kenisha
Monday December 15th, 2003 11:32:52 PM

Kenisha nods to Vrurt, "Keep the children in the center with me. Toros, it seems yours travels with us is already at a crossroads. I beg of you to stand fast with us. The lives of The Children of Domi depend on us."

If Kenisha has to move to take her place in the circle, she'll just cast Bull's Strength and touch Brahmah to deliver the spell to him.

If she doesn't have to use her move action to take her place, then she'll also pull out her Potion of Eagle's Splendor so she can drink it next round.

Tuesday December 16th, 2003 12:59:42 AM

When Gecktar offers Brahmah the wand, "Thanks you, I'll keep it close."
**************************************************

As he walks with the Chosen, Brahmah is very wary and uncomfortable with the people in the area, something is familiar, somehow. Maybe just a past memory??
The he notices the people scatter and then.... the cleric and misguided taurs. 'Figures!' he thinks to himself.

"Circle of Life Chosen! You all know your jobs. Gecktar, Toros, do what it takes to stay alive, but stay near the circle!"
He then says, almost inaudibly, "Be merciless, for you will recieve NONE!"

He looks to Pah'caw, "Go!"
As Brahmah watches his friend fly off, he looks to the roofs for archers. (Spot 16)

Then he sees the Dark Figure. No emotion or surpise crosses the Captains face.

He turns to Taric and gives him a simple but clear nod, then whispers, "We ALL could use your QUICK spell mage." Then winks at the illusionist.

With a gestured wave and ancient Woldian word, Brahmah's forearm glows green. His tattoo activates. (Hoping to catch at least two minotaurs or the clerics in the Entangle, 1 minute(not even really sure of the tattoo duration), DC 11 save for partial, 40ft radius spread.)
OOC:This only happens if there are significant plants around.

OOC: Remember to let us all know how long your spells last.

Toros
Tuesday December 16th, 2003 1:42:47 AM

NPC: I rolled a d20, 17, then start writing my turn. However, I felt the need to check something written before and double-click for this, then I lost the whole post. I am writing again according to the original post of mine.

"Ha haaa, my dear friends, you have talked about a lunch on the waterside, but how nice of you to welcome me with a feast like that!! Look at these food on the table. These taurs and cleric should be the entertainers. This is indeed a special feast for chosen. But where has the audience gone? Anyway, I should contribute to the meaning and importance of today with a song of my own. I hope you will like it. This minotaur dressed all in black and his fury companion standing near the docks will be my inspiration, I suppose. You may also recognize these figures very well."

Spot 17+4 = 23

Saying this, Toros starts singing a song for his new friends to inspire courage +1. The effect should last 5 rounds after he stops singing. This is a song that he has song many times but this time he makes some suitable additions like, "ho ho, I saw a black taur on the dock, with this song he`ll run away like a little duck..."

While singing he fits to the nearest place in the gathering circle of people and then, if he still has time, draws his halbert and ready it for any charge from the enemy. So his place in the circle should be facing at least some taurs.

Leets
Tuesday December 16th, 2003 4:02:44 AM

There is no surprise for the Centaur paladin. He gets a look behind him at the two minotaurs arriving...He then let his heavy glance fall on the cleric who has spoken, and unties his morningstar...

"Bounty hunters this time...And less than last time we met..."

"Oh...Did you say your new friends that much of them DIED!?!?"

"CHOSEN! Let them know the true word of Domi! The Holy Father stands by our side!"

"FOR THE GLORY OF DOMI AND HOPE FOR THE TAUR PEOPLE! NO MERCY FOR THOSE IN OUR WAY!"

Holding high his morningstar, Leets cast BLESS on the party (+1 to attack & moral...Should be active for the whole battle I think...).

Doing so, Leets joined the circle to face the backward Minotaurs (and will grab one of his javelin with his free hand since he has no shield anymore...).
