Kanchana  d4+1=3
Monday November 24th, 2003 8:07:13 PM

Kanchana pauses in mid-step, and casts a Magic Missile at Wemic 4 for daring to resume hostilities. After this she almost half turns at the pleas of the others. She looks over her shoulder at the others as she speaks.

In a neutral tone of voice she says (not loudly enough for the folks on the raft to hear),"If you want the children to live and Vrurt to live then they [she gestures at the wemics] cannot continue to live... They are bound to this course - they have probably even sworn to take blood for blood. That means Vrurt's life at the very least. If you want I could try to speak with those who yet live and try to persuade them to end their Blood-quest and seek peace. But if they are still true to their words at the village, and their actions now, then Vrurt is little more than a Hellhound to them..." It is clear that Kanchana holds no hope for the redemption of these Wemics, not if Vrurt and the children matter... And clearly this bothers her nearly as much as Vasch's death.

In a somewhat cold and eerily emotionless tone of voice she continues, "And I cannot leave Vasch here. His death is my burden and I will not fail him a second time."

(Magic Missile: 3 dmg to Wemic 4)

Kenisha (Mage Armor; AC 22)  4d4(1+4+2+1)+4=12
Monday November 24th, 2003 11:13:17 PM

As one of the two arrows comes speeding towards her upper torso, Kenisha's hand reaches out and snatches the arrow out of the air. The other arrow smashes against the barrier of her Mage Armor. She smiles ane hands the arrow to Gecktar, "Here you go. A gift from our wemic friend out there."

Still looking to protect Leets, Kenisha sends her next volley of Magic Missiles at Wemic #2 (for 12 pts of damage).

"If you are going to talk, Kanchana, I would suggest you hurry. There are only two of them left now."

Brahmah 33 of 75hps(Jay B), HASTED and BLESSED  d20+14=33 d20+14=32 2d4(2+4)+7=13 2d4(3+4)+7=14
Monday November 24th, 2003 11:14:58 PM

"Pah'caw! Defend the Children. Go to the raft."

"Flat-top, Leets, go! Take the raft, we'll be along shortly."

"Damn it Kanchana!"

Brahmah dismisses his Entangle, then moves to attack Wemic #4. (Hits AC 33(crit for 32*), for 13(crit 27*))

Brahmah's dodge AC is 25 versus #4.

Taric
Tuesday November 25th, 2003 2:19:26 AM

Taric casts a spell on himself to make himself stronger, before he wills the disc to move to the other side of the raft so Taric can step on it and move towards the shore.

OOC:
casting bull's strength on himself.

Gecktar  d20+2=14
Tuesday November 25th, 2003 3:12:08 AM

Taking the arrow that Kenisha gives him he tries to shoot at its former owner (Wemic #4). Seeing that he definately has the skill to ever damage one he take back his shield and stand on the raft as a shield of flesh to protect those on the raft.
With a circular glance he appraises the basic wounds of all the party to see who need his healing hand first.

Flat-top  d20+4=13 d4+4=8
Tuesday November 25th, 2003 3:56:20 AM

Flat-top still under water, feel that the raft is swaying with the curent. The rope is taunt and it is differcul to cut, but Flat-top gives it all he has the mussels for. He'll have to come up for aie soon.

Paw'caw
Tuesday November 25th, 2003 4:02:53 AM

Paw'caw spots her master and he's yelling something about the children, Oh! wait a minute something about the raft?? She'll circle down and come to perch on Gecktar's shield.

Leets  d20+2=17
Tuesday November 25th, 2003 1:28:21 PM

"Kanchana..."

Leets sadly let the druid chose her own way, and hears Brahmah's words...

"Ok captain! Here we go!"

Leets takes all the speed he can in the water and pushes the raft. (Strength check 17).

OOC: Could Managarm 'blink' Vasch with him on the raft Ceil - I mean, is it possible?

Managram(Ceil)
Tuesday November 25th, 2003 4:40:39 PM

Managram will go to Body of Vasch, turn and look at Leets, then take Vasch hand into is mouth *blink*. Now the dog *Blink*, Managram should be on the raft.(like he did with Leets when he went under the sand) Managram sit beside the body "Bark! Bark!(Now can I have the Bone)".

Wemic Battle Seven. (DM Jim)
Tuesday November 25th, 2003 6:00:27 PM

Kanchana pleads her case and then fires off a series of magic missiles at wemic4.

Kenisha also fires off a series of magic missiles but at wemic2. She also makes the comment about negotiations and hurrying since there are only two left.

Brahmah dismisses his entangle and moves to engage wemic4. He brings his blade down hard on the wemic and neatly cuts him from shoulder to stomach.

Taric casts bulls strength on himself and moves his disc around so that he can get on it.

Gecktar tries another shot at a wemic and finds that his luck still has not improved any. He decides to take back his shield and weapon to place himself as a tank.

Flat-top attempts to cut the rope more but this time the knife slips across the rope with no damage. He feels the air in his lungs starting to grow short, he figures that he has another round worth of air.

Pah'caw listens to the orders of her master and flies to the raft. She lands on Gecktar's shield and surveys the surroundings.

Leets leaps into the water and tries to give the raft a push to get it moving. He finds it rather difficult with nothing to push against and the rope still holding it in place.

Managarm makes his way to Vasch and taking his hand blinks him onto the raft. He then sits down looking rather pleased with himself and wondering when he can have his bone.

Fertin continues to hold the pole for when the rope is cut loose.

Everyone on the raft hears a creaking and cracking noise. Several of the ropes actually snap and the raft starts to fall apart. The children start to scream and cry, while the grown-ups start to worry. The current is strong enought that it could sweep away a child or an adult with little swimming experience (swim DC 12 or be swept down the river or if you pass you can make it to shore).

Wemic6 is dead.

Wemic4 is now laying on the ground cut from shoulder to belly, his inards now outards.

Wemic5 is dead.

Wemic2 looks around to the massacre and turns tail. He is quickly out of sight of the party.

Wemic1 is on the ground slowly bleeding out.

Wemic3 is on the ground slowly bleeding out.

Kenisha (Mage Armor; AC 22; Tensor's Floating Disc)  d20+8=23 d20+1=18
Tuesday November 25th, 2003 7:46:57 PM

Kenisha screams as the raft comes apart under her hooves. But she marshals herself even as she hits the water and casts Tensor's Floating Disc near the children.

(Concentration check=26; the disc can hold 700# and will move at 50 ft/rd. If she can get both children on the disc she will.)

If she can't get both children, she'll call out for help. Either way she'll do her best to swim towards shore.

If for some reason she can't get either child she'll swim towards them to grab them.

Brahmah 33 of 75hps (Jay B)
Tuesday November 25th, 2003 8:45:09 PM

Brahmah mumbles as he walks over to the remaining five wemic corpses and loots them. He takes a large bow and some arrows(quiver) for himself. He will look for any sign of who may have sent these wemics.

He turns as he hears the concern in Kenisha's voice. (What can he see from where he is?)

(OOC: How wide is the river? How big is the raft? How deep is it at the deepest point? How heavy are the children, each?)

Taric  d20+6=26 d20+6=24
Wednesday November 26th, 2003 1:30:55 AM

Taric will grab the child that is closest to him and place it on his disc. He then holds on to his own disc to grab the other child or lend a hand to Vrurt or Kenisha, whoever is closer, to make sure the current doesn't sweep them away.

OOC:
str-check: 26
swim-check: 24

Leets  d20+2=16
Wednesday November 26th, 2003 3:21:55 AM

Leets has troubles not to be drawn by the river, but manage not to go too much away, coming back, he gets a look at the shore and see that the battle is finished. He will then help Taric with Vrurt.

"Kenisha, are you ok with the little one? I think we can go back on the shore now!"

Flat-top  d20+4=10
Wednesday November 26th, 2003 9:24:59 AM

Flat-top is trying to cut at the rope, when he feels that the raft is comming apart. So up he rises he will look to se what's going on, he will take any child in the water and put her on his back(part of a horses back is expose from the water),if the Unitaurs are safe, flat-top will take the body of Vasch on his back, then will retreve his armor and weapons.(I hope I don't lose anyone or anythings)

OOC: flat-top will use hast, role ac10 for cutting the rope.

Kanchana
Wednesday November 26th, 2003 1:09:49 PM

Kanchana at first watches the lone surviving Wemic turn tail and run for it. She considers chasing him down but decides not to. She shakes her head a little and thinks, "I need to calm down. I can't change what has happened..."
Kanchana doesnt notice the raft breaking apart until she senses a flurry of movement from her fellows behind her at the river's edge. She turns and just watches for a bit; trying to gather her wits about her and see what she can do to help. Kanchana moves down from the raft and near to the river's edge just in case anyone gets caught up in the current. She figures that if she has to try and swim then Father Tomi will protect her.

Gecktar  d20+1=11 d20-7=11
Wednesday November 26th, 2003 3:50:55 PM

As he begin to lose balance, Gecktar tries to grapple a log. He nows that if he fail he certainly meet his fate as armored as he is, he will sink as a stone...

(Reflex check : 11, Swim check : 11)

Brahmah
Wednesday November 26th, 2003 4:55:26 PM

What can Brahmah see from his position?

Breaking Up. (DM Jim)
Wednesday November 26th, 2003 5:48:52 PM

Kenisha is able to get the disc position so that it is as close to the children as possible.

Brahmah is looting the body of the first wemic4 when he hears the concern in Kenisha's voice. He is horrified by what he sees. The raft falling apart and several people ending up in the water.

Taric is able to grab Domisha as the raft starts to fall apart, but is unable to grab anyone else.

Leets is able to grab Vrurt as she drops her kid on the disc and falls into the water. He swims to shore pulling Vrurt along as she tries to help out as best she can.

Flat-top is able to grab Vasch as the raft breaks apart, but his weapons and armor sink into the water. Possibly they are carried a little ways by the current.

Kanchana makes it down the river a little and watches for anyone that may not have as much luck in getting out of the river. So far it is looking rather good.

Gecktar is barely able to grab a log as he falls into the water. Despite his best efforts to swim to shore, he and the log are caught in the current.

[The river is 20 feet across and 14 feet deep. The raft would have been at least 6-8 feet wide and the same in length. Each baby would weigh in at about 50-60 pounds apiece.]

[Spoils: vials-6, short stick, battleaxe-8, longbow-3, 50' of hemp rope-3, backpack-6, 25 days rations, masterwork arrows-34, tindertwig-8, antitoxin-4, waterskin-10, bedroll-6, sack-3, whetstone-4, healer's kit, ring, amulet, token]

Brahmah 33 of 75hps (Jay B)

Thursday November 27th, 2003 1:07:10 AM

Brahmah finishes up rounding up the loot and takes off to help who he can.

[When he sorted the loot, he as careful not to allow the 'short stick/wand' or the other smaller gear to get damaged, in fact, he put on the ring and amulet.]

OOC: I'll go to the CC with the loot if no one minds. I'll have the stuff ID'd too, unless one of us can do it? Or should we just add it to the other loot from the fight with Miroband?

Taric
Thursday November 27th, 2003 1:37:39 AM

Taric will move his disc to the shore and help Domisha get off. He then goes in pursuit of Gecktar to try and lend him a hand to stop him from being swept away by the current.

Brahmah
Thursday November 27th, 2003 1:55:12 AM

Brahmah helps Taric with Domisha.

Kanchana  d20+2=17 d20+2=3 d20+3=17
Thursday November 27th, 2003 3:36:38 AM

Kanchana puts her wand and scimitar away, securing them in case she has to go out in the water. The rest of her gear is either in her haversack or strapped/tied to her.
Shortly thereafter she notices Geacktar having trouble with the current. She takes a deep breath and wades out into the river to help him out as best she can. Kanchana isnt able to get a good grip on him. Gecktar weighs too much for her with his armor on! She hope that her efforts have moved Gecktar a little closer to shore though.

(Swim 17, Strength 3, Dexterity 17)

Kenisha (Mage Armor; AC 22; Tenser's Floating Disc)  d20+4=6
Thursday November 27th, 2003 7:42:53 AM

(ooc: Since I did state that if she got either child, she'd head to shore, I'm assuming she's there now with Vrurt's baby.)

After counting heads, Kenisha realizes that Fertin is missing. She calls out, "Fertin's missing and Gecktar is in trouble! Somebody grab some rope and see if you can't pull him to shore!"

Kenisha deposits Vrurt's baby well away from the water and looks for Fertin. (Spot check= 6)

Flat-top  d20+4=24
Thursday November 27th, 2003 1:45:01 PM

Even though he is loosing every thing he had brough with him, he'll will swim after Getkar(swim 24). Swin going with the courent. He will grab on to him and with the force of the curent, whith Getkar in tow. Flat-top will slowly (kitty corner) swim to shore.

Gecktar  d20+5=23
Thursday November 27th, 2003 2:52:41 PM

Gecktar desperatly tries to close to the shore agitating his powerful legs.

Safe and Sound for the Time. (DM Jim)
Thursday November 27th, 2003 6:24:55 PM

Everyone has made it to shore though a little spread out along the shore. You even find Fertin laying on the bank breathing hard. He has a smile on his face and is laughing. "More fun...than I...have had in...a long time." His smile is infectious to everyone.

Between Kanchana and Flat-top they get Gecktar to shore as well. Though tired and wet they feel none the worse for wear. It is obvious that moving out to a better area would be a good idea. A little rest would not be bad either as you are all feeling the effects of fatigue.

Brahmah inquires about the newest loot that has been gained and what to do with it. From the looks of the group a little rest and healing is in order.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!!

Brahmah 33 of 75hps (Jay B)  d20+3=23
Thursday November 27th, 2003 9:31:18 PM

Brahmah gets the sharp stares from everyone.
"Okay, okay, we'll get some more rest. Is the raft salvagable Flat-top?" He looks is up and down. "I've seen worse!" He laughs as it floats there in pieces. (Profession Sailor 23, how is the raft? natural 20!)

Brahmah pulls out a newly looted hemp rope and ties it to a nearby tree. (Use Rope 19)
Then he ties the other end to himself. (Use Rope 4, NATURAL 1! HAHA rofl! oops)

He proceeds into the water after hearing some gear went overboard. "Whose am I looking for!? What's missing!?" He yells after wading in. (Swim check 18 + Endurance Feat)

Taric  d20+4=23 d20=15 d20+5=23
Friday November 28th, 2003 1:16:47 AM

Having everybody safe and sound on the shore he hears Brahmah talk about some missing gear. Laying down on his disc, Taric moves it a little alongside the current to see if he can find and of it. If he can, he will try to get it out of the water and onto the disc.

Kenisha (Mage Armor; AC 22; Tenser's Floating Disc)
Friday November 28th, 2003 5:48:29 AM

Kenisha sighs with relief now that everyone is on shore. She gives Domisha a big hug.

She casts Prestigiditation and dries off everyone (who are on land) and their equipment.

Flat-top
Friday November 28th, 2003 6:48:28 AM

As Flat-top rests, he smiles at Brahmah's comments on his raft. "Captain! I never said That I was a ship buildre, all I did was to go back when I was a colt and the raft we build back then foe my plans. But you know that one sank too!". Flat-top laugh at the though.
"Captain! I lost all my weapon, armor and saddle bags. Just as soon as I rest for a bit, I'll go into the water and help look for anything that's left down there. Oh! by the way how's the courent down there??"

Kanchana  d20+11=25
Friday November 28th, 2003 9:54:26 AM

Kanchana looks at least as tired and dispirited as she feels, though she does perk up a little bit at Fertin's good humor.
"Is anyone badly injured? Do any of you know any way; mundane or magical, to protect Vasch until we get to the keep?" Kanchana carefully pries out the painful arrow from her flank while making small, low noises of discomfort. "If we can; then we need to rest now." Kanchana speaks in a flat, monotonous voice as she treats her wound.
If no one objects then she starts to treat everyone else's wounds (in the mundane manner).

************************************************

If camp is made then Kanchana will take some time to look closely at the wands. She doesn't have an identify spell memorized though.

(Heal 25) (Hope to get everyone rested and healed at least +2 hp...)

A little needed R&R. (DM Jim)
Saturday November 29th, 2003 3:40:33 PM

It is obvious that the raft will not be repaired as part of it has drifted down the river and lost. Flat-top's gear is easily found on the bottom of the river, the water being quite clear.

Moving away from the current area you find a nice little hidden pocket that will make a perfect place to relax. A quick glance at the sun tells you that it is only about two after the high point of the sun (2pm).

Kanchana glances over the wands and finds them slightly similar in appearance. Made of wood and wrapped with grass around them, otherwise they are nothing special.

The two kids romp around a little under the supervision of the adults. Playing with the butterflies and picking flowers, they soon grow bored and come back to sit.

[Remember Kanchana's offer for healing everyone. You could also hold up here if you want and get some rest, starting out early in the morning.]

Brahmah 33 of 75hps
Saturday November 29th, 2003 3:58:36 PM

Brahmah sits and begins more careful inspection of the newest gear.
He cleans his weaponry and gear, and as he does so, he mentions to Kanchana quietly that he could use some healing soon. It's obvious to her that the broken arrows, gashes in his gut and back, as well as his bruised face(from mace wounds), all needed to be healed.
He just calmly sit and waits to be attended in her time.
"All this gear is in pretty good condition, these were more than your everyday hunter prides, they were prepared even as well as Miroband's crew." He holds up the stick and the vials. Brahmah then removes the amulet and ring, then puts them away.
He soon lays back on a rock and waits to be healed.

Kanchana  d20+11=14 d8+2=4 d20+11=15
Saturday November 29th, 2003 9:26:50 PM

Kanchana takes a bowl and fetches clean water from the river. She takes a small bit of gauze bandage and dips it into the water and starts to clean Brahmah's wounds. Next she will start to remove the broken arrows and a other debris. Kanchana feels her weariness and appologizes frequently for any pain that she is certain she is inflicting while removing the lodged in arrows. Kanchana whispers to Brahmah, "I think that those wands are the same type. They certainly look alike." She casts her last CLW spell on Brahmah.
Kanchana will tend everyone else's wounds as carefully as she can after finishing up with Brhamah. She will use mundane healing methods first and then resort to her wand if anyone still looks really bad.
Out loud and addressing no one in particular she says, "I hope that we can spend a few hours resting here and regaining strength. I need to commune with the Father and the Mother." If all of her tasks and tending are done then Kanchana will walk a little ways off to pray for answers. She neglects to say: "to hear how to repent for losing Vasch..."

(Heal check (for tending to Brahmah's wounds) 14, CWL spell (on Brahmah) heals 4 points, Heal check (for anyone else who needs tending to) 15)

Flat-top
Saturday November 29th, 2003 10:55:29 PM

Flat-top approches Kanchana asking, Chanchana! could you please whack me a couple of times with your wand? I have a cloak in my back Pack I'll wrap the body of Vasch for the trip home, Thank-you Bright Eyes." After She cures his of his wounds, Flat-top will go and wrap the body of Vasch. "We'll take you home, my friend."
Flat-top will rest by standing guard.(With out his cloak)

Paw'caw
Saturday November 29th, 2003 11:06:05 PM

Paw'caw is in the trees watching the young ones, She sees her master hurt But the loiness is treating him. She takes to the air, circleing then dives and skims the water picking up a big salmon. She takes flight and drop the fish at Kanchana's paws. "CAW - CAW" almost to say 'Reward'.
Paw'caw goes back to fish for her self.

Managram(ceil)
Saturday November 29th, 2003 11:12:33 PM

Managram plays with the children, fetching stick and pine cones. Chasting butterflies and small animals, when the children got tired and ready for a nap. Managram whent to Leets hoves and sat looking at him as if to say, 'That Master was work! now can I have my bone?'

Gecktar  d20+7=11 d8+3=8 d8+3=5 d8+3=4 2d8(8+8)+3=19
Sunday November 30th, 2003 5:58:48 AM

Gecktar drop his armor and tries to dry his clothes. When done, he looks at the party and who need the more healling. He can use his wand as well but start to cast some spells. He has 3 cure light wounds and one cure moderate wounds and cast them on those needing healing.
(Cure light wounds 8hp, 5hp, 4hp, moderate 19hp)

After that he will take a good sleep to regain his strength.

(OOC : Sorry for the turn I've missed...)

Leets
Sunday November 30th, 2003 12:05:33 PM

Leets begins to remove some parts of arrows from his own, and then realize Managarm is wanting something. It takes a couple of seconds before the Centaur paladin takes the big bone in his backpack and gives it to the dog...

"You deserve it my dog, and when we arrive at home, you'll get one with some meat on it..."

Leets gets a look around, and particularly at Geckhtar.

"Are you ok? You know, that's the kind of things that happen quite often, and I guess we'll have to prepare for more before we arrive..."

"Brahmah...Any idea about who they were?"

OOC: Sorry everybody, I got the flu and wasn't able to post for a couple of days. It's ok now...Even if it's late, happy Thanksgiving to you all people-beyond-atlantic...

Kenisha
Sunday November 30th, 2003 9:47:17 PM

As she still has the spell up, Kenisha uses her Prestidigitation on Gecktar's clothing and armor.

"They were probably the same wemics who attacked the village looking for Vrurt. I just wonder if there are still more we have to get past before we make it to the coast?" she says in reply to Leets' question.

Taric
Monday December 1st, 2003 1:00:04 AM

Taric is glad they have a chance to sit down and rest a bit.

"We can't stay too long here though as one of the wemics got away. I bet he'll be back with reinforcements. I think it would be good to catch some early sleep and rest now and leave as early as we can in the morning."

Brahmah 43 of 75hps  d8+1=6
Monday December 1st, 2003 5:58:35 AM

"Your probably right about the wemics Kenisha. And your absolutely right about the one returning with reforcements, Taric.
We're all, for the most part, hurting from the battles.
Healing and rest takes priority. *He winks in Kanchana's direction*
We need a sabatical. I personally feel like I've been stung up the main sail during a thirteen day squall!
We should move from the shore, seeings how we lost the raft and all... wait, actually, we should travel down the shallows of the river several miles to avoid the trackers, stay out of the muck and mud.
Kanchana, can you rig up a 'perfume' to cover our scent(after healing us)... can't be too careful."

He taps himself with his own wand after Kanchana heals him. (healed 6, mark off a charge)

[OOC: Jim, is Pah'caw still hurt, if so I want to heal her too.]

[Gillis/Gecktar, you should say who your healing to make Jims job easier. ;) Just trying to help.]

Flat-top
Monday December 1st, 2003 10:20:02 AM

"That's Avery good Idea, by walking in the shallows. If the Children get tired of walking, they can ride on my back, Is this alright with the mothers?" Ask Flat-top.
Then as a after though, he look at Brahmah with hairy eyeballs "WAIT A MINUTE CAPTAIN! I'm A STALOIN, and I don't need any Girly-girl PREFUME!"

Paw'caw[ceil]
Monday December 1st, 2003 10:26:51 AM

Paw'caw after eating her fish, flies and lands on Brahmah shoulder, 'Brurp!' She burps in Brahmah face. Then looking in his face "Caw" (as if to say anything else??)

Now Managram is a happy dog, he knaws on his bone reward, lifts his head (when Paw'caw called to Brahmah) look at her "Bark! bark!" (your not getting any of my reward girl, go away)

Gecktar
Monday December 1st, 2003 11:38:51 AM

Gecktar need the current status of everyone to heal the most wounded.
First It seems that Brahmah was seriously hit so he get the 19 of the cure moderate.
(OOC : I think Leets needed it too so he gets the first and second cure light, if someone else is wounded tell me, if not Gecktar will apply the last to himself)

Rest before taking off. (DM Jim)
Monday December 1st, 2003 6:14:34 PM

The group sets up a camp for the rest of the day. Some healing is doled out to those who need it most and the rest relax as they clean themselves up after the battle. Everyone settles down and relaxes for the time being knowing that they may well have a busy day ahead of them.

You guys spens an uneventful night and wake up the next morning to find things as you left them the day before. The only missing thing is the bodies that seem to have been dragged off, not Vasch's body though as that was protected.

[So do you move out this morning or wait for the scent breaker to be created if the herbs can be found. Are you prepared to face the people of the port when you get there.]

Brahmah (fully healed)  d8+1=9
Monday December 1st, 2003 9:02:47 PM

That night, Brahmah stood his watch, not seeing or hearing a thing.(OOC:Though I thought we moved away from the bodies!?)
On his watch, taps himself again once (healing 9. 71 of 75 hps)

By morning Brahmah is fully healed (through natural healing). So is Pah'caw, she shared my spells.
He rises early and prepares his spell Pass Without Trace.

Having time now, he goes down by the river to practice his Falchion and excercises(push ups, pull ups, stretches, even finds a an old stump to curl). The dewwy air is fresh and clean, he breathes it in deeply.
Mist rolling off the river.
It might be a sight to see Brahmah without his armor on, in simply his breeches.

At breakfast, "We need to avoid the trackers. We need to remain unseen most of the trip to Port.
Chosen, prepare your spells for travel and anti tracking. Anyone with scrolls or potions that may help, let me know what they are."

Kanchana  d20+5=20 d20+8=28 d20+10=14 d20+13=25
Monday December 1st, 2003 10:50:06 PM

Kanchana wakes up real early and starts to look around for herbs and plants that can be used to make a scent breaker paste, salve or wash she will use water or whatever grease-like substances she can (plant matter preferably).

************************************************

Kanchana will boil her plant concoction over the fire and try to make something viable from it. As she sits there minding her 'goop' she says, "if we can cast the "tracker's bane" spell [she is talking about the pass without trace spell] then we could not be tracked... however I can only cast 3 such spells on any given day. The children could ride in that magical disk that Taric used. Then we wouldn't have to carry them,or slow our pace." Kanchana stirs the boiling plant soup with a stick. "Anyway we need to rest here as long as we can. Anyone else have any ideas??"

************************************************

Kanchana will wait with moving out until the mixture is finished and idea's have been exchanged.

Taric
Tuesday December 2nd, 2003 2:10:12 AM

Taric nods to Kanchana.
"The disc will only exist for a couple of hours per casting though. I might study in some more if we all agree that that would be the most helpful at the moment."

Leets
Tuesday December 2nd, 2003 5:03:03 AM

The Centaur paladin will spend the evening healing those who need it (including himself) and building some simple javelins (say...3, is it ok?).

Taking his own turn for the watch, Leets will prefer dawn, so that he can pray Domi for his protection during the day about to come.

Kenisha
Tuesday December 2nd, 2003 6:12:27 AM

"The disc is a good idea and I also can cast it and for me it lasts 7 hours, so I think we can keep the children going for the entire trip." Kenisha says with a nod.

"As to any other magics that might aid us in not being detected, I can't think of anything I know to help except Prestidigitation to help disguise our smells, but that's only good for an hour so I'd have to keep recasting it."

(ooc- Kenisha wasn't wounded at all in the last battle, so she doesn't need any healing.)

Flat-top
Tuesday December 2nd, 2003 8:54:38 AM

Because Centaurs sleep on their hooves, Flat-top is still in the same spot as when he was on guard. Flat-top is now Fully healed, He watches Leets as he prays and his dog follow him. Watching Brahmah go through his practice. Which reminds him that he need his excersise too.
So He goes into the field and run, in at a full gallop, throwing stones here and there. Thinking to himself,'If they want track, they'll get track but only in the battle field.'
When his run is over, he'll approches Kanchana,"Don't worry my dear, I trust you and your potions. Your getting very good at your art. Here's a few berries for your breakfast. Please take them."

Paw'caw  d20+15=32
Tuesday December 2nd, 2003 9:13:26 AM

Paw'caw awakens at the brake of dawn, She come to the water edge, drink and washes. She flies back to her perch and preem herself. After she is sure that she look her best, She'll takes to the skies and flies in her lazy eight pattern to spot(32) any trouble(if any).

Managram{ceil}
Tuesday December 2nd, 2003 9:23:17 AM

As soon as Leets moves to go for his prayes, Managram is right beside him, Leets stands in deep prayers, Managram scratches his ears, leet goes and get branches to make lances, Managram tries to drag branches. And when Leets start to widdle the wood, Managram looks for more action. The dog spots the children at play, he pick up a pine cone and goes to play with the children.

Gecktar
Tuesday December 2nd, 2003 2:31:19 PM

Gecktar wake up after a good night. He had taken a watch turn if necessary.
He stand up and then extend his arms and begins to pray Imod for the new day and the soul of Vasch. May he find the way to Imod.
After a long prayer he says "I'm afraid that I have nothing to help to mislead those who want to tack us."

A new day. (DM Jim)
Tuesday December 2nd, 2003 3:49:45 PM

A brand new day has begun and you find yourselves going about your normal routines. Kanchana is able to find all the plants that she thinks she will need to make her potion. Leets goes about his own morning routine and then forms himself several javelins. Pah'caw takes to the sky and circles around the camp for several turns. She comes back to perch in the tree having seen nothing of interest. Managarm keeps the children entertained for the rest of the time that you are here.

About midday you find find that you are all ready to head out. The going is easy but a little slower than you would have liked. Anyone that takes the time to think about it will figure that you have another day to the port.

[You were able to gain new spells with the nights rest. I will need to know any spells that are used so remember to put them with your post name. Kanchana was able to make enough of a past for everyone to make use of. It stinks kind of bad but is most definitely going to help you not be tracked.]

Brahmah, Pass without Trace(6hrs)
Tuesday December 2nd, 2003 6:49:03 PM

Before leaving for port, Brahmah will cast Pass without Trace.
(ooc; able to target 6 taurs for 6 hours, Flat-top, himself, Taric, Gecktar, Leets and Kanchana.)

"Maybe Managarm should ride the disc with the children, they might like that. Sorry Kenisha, I couldn't cast upon you too, but I'm not that powerful yet.
Closer we get to port, we must remember, it's more likely we'll run across scouts or hunters. Be alert. Expect anything."

Taric
Wednesday December 3rd, 2003 1:25:29 AM

Taric will cast his disc whenever they are ready to leave. He then follows the lead of the captain, hoping they will soon reach a ship to get them safe at sea.

Kanchana  d20+3=7 d20+5=13
Wednesday December 3rd, 2003 1:45:42 AM

Kanchana finishes her pasty concoction and then takes an experimental whiff of it. *ugh* "well this will work!" She says triumphantly and grins. She will put the paste into a bag and put it into her haversack until someone needs it.
Kanchana searches about for some sturdy wood to build a travois from... looks like she will have to drag Vasch's body with her. Kanchana thinks "I wonder how to get rid of the drag marks though??"
As she studies Vasch's body think of logistics problems she says "I can cast the tracker's bane spell too but only for two hours at a time. However my scent breaker paste should work just as good against leaving a scent trail."
Looking frustrated at not being able to get rid of the drag mark problem she asks, "does any one have any idea how to get rid of drag marks? I am not strong enough to carry Vasch's body all the way to some port..." Kanchana hopes that someone has a solution to her problem.

(Search 7, Spot 13)

((If Jim allows it then Kanchana would have swapped all her level 1 drd spells for pass without trace spells... if not then Kenisha will have to walk softly and wear the paste. Also does anyone know what checks to make for dragging heavy things/people??))

Gecktar (pass without trace from Brahmah)
Wednesday December 3rd, 2003 2:44:45 AM

Maybe could we build a strecher that four of us can carry it ? So no tracks will be left. I think the pace will certainly be slower but this is the only idea I have... This will spread the weight of Vasch among four of us.

(OOC : Gecktar will pray to regain the default spells shown on his sheet)

Flat-top(pass without trace from Brahmah)
Wednesday December 3rd, 2003 5:06:34 AM

"That's a great idea! If we are four around the strecher, that means no deep tracks. Alright! I'll take one corner, that is if we can stand each other's scent??" Flat-top makes a little joke.
"Leets! My Compradrey! hey I just made up a word for Friend?? Can we borrow two of your lances to make a strecher for Vasch, please."
As am after though, He add "Maybe when we get near the harbor to get our ship, we could all wear out hooded capes, like a funeral parade. These taur don't care much for Weimic and they won't be looking for a funeral durge any way?? what do you think??" ask Flat-top.
Flat-top turns to Kenisha and Kanchana "You females and the kid could be greving relatives? just following the funeral derge?"

(ooc Kenisha will cast Tenser's Floating disc when it's needed to take over for Taric's; lasts 7 hrs)

Kenisha does her best to walk softly and keep an eye out for trouble on the trip. Domisha thinks it's great fun to have the big puppy on the disc and curls up with Managram to watch the wold pass by.

(Mine is Kenishacentaur on AIM but unless I know something is going on (ie a friend wants to talk to me on it, I'm rarely on.)

Leets
Wednesday December 3rd, 2003 9:00:48 AM

Leets looks at Flat-Top with wide eyes.

"Your compra...what?!? Well, give up...I see what you want to do with the lances, but those were designed to be thrown, and they will be too short to do what we want, and they may break easily. However, I've seen a lot of tougher branches that would do it perfectly..."

Leets moves away for five minutes, and comes back with two long and tough branches.

"It should be sufficient, no?"

Leets then gets closer to the disk and calls for his dog.

"Managarm! Hey Managarm! Come on!"

"Jump! Jump! Yes, sit on it! Good dog!"

"Now, you'll stay here, ok, and guard the disk. Is it ok?"

To the port we are heading. (DM Jim)
Wednesday December 3rd, 2003 5:23:17 PM

Taking some extra time the group sets up a stretcher that they can carry Vasch's body on. They are soon moving out towards the port and Castle Violet. The added weight and time they must spend in taking along Vasch's body, plus cover thier tracks slows you down considerably. You take several breaks so that you do not tire out much.

Stopping again for supper you find a nice little spot that will serve as a nice place to spend the night. After much time spent making yourselves ready you all will fall alseep at your time and have the following dream.

"You find yourself standing in the middle of the central square at Castle Violet in the city part. Taurs are going about their normal business as you stand looking out at the ships at dock, when you feel eyes upon you. You turn to find a liontaur staring in your direction and you find yourself moving towards him at the table he is seated at. As you draw closer you notice that he has a ghostly image of a hammer over his head. You are touched by a sudden feeling that your fates are connected somehow...but how. Suddenly you have a feeling of uncontrolable darkness grabbing at you. When you turn you see the hazy outline of a taur dressed all in black."

[I will allow Kanchana to exchange two of her first level spells. You can set your watch as you see fit and everything. Embelish the dream that you have as much as you want, just don't take it too far and remember that you are alone in the dream but the other taur in it.]

Brahmah
Wednesday December 3rd, 2003 7:45:30 PM

Brahmah lays back and is fast asleep in a short time.

Taric
Thursday December 4th, 2003 2:34:59 AM

Taric will help to carry the stretcher with Vasch on it.

Not used to heavy labor, Taric is glad when they stop to rest for the night. When his head hits the ground he is already vast asleep.

He will take whatever watch is needed.

Kenisha
Thursday December 4th, 2003 5:42:22 AM

Kenisha is glad when the day passes peacefully.

When the dream starts, Kenisha recognizes that it is from Domi, but that doesn't stop the feeling of dread when the black taur appears. She wakes up gasping with a hand on her shoulder. Afraid that the black taur has followed her out of her dream she turns quickly and on the defensive. But it's just Leets waking her for her watch.

Brahmah
Thursday December 4th, 2003 6:05:58 AM

The Captain is aware the dream is far more vivid than usual ones he has, so it must be Domi again.

Is the liontaur looking at me the one to focus on, or was it the dark clad fellow behind him that was to be the focus... or was it both? Domi continues to be mysterious.

Still, the dream isn't as disturbing as the rotting form of Raakis(maggot filled mouth and all), the Great Priest, begging for his life. That dream is still haunting, having to kill the cleric wasn't a high point in Brahmah's life. Though he can think of far worse he had done while serving on THAT ship!

Flat-top
Thursday December 4th, 2003 9:08:47 AM

Flat-top while on his watch, starts to feel very tired. He leans against a tree, then falls asleep and dreams... That he is in the center of Castle Violet Square. He feels that eyes are watching his every move. Flat-top turns his head to see this Liontaur sitting at a table, he's drawn to him. As he nears this table where this Taur is, he spots a Ghostly Hammer this Taur's head. "Domi! is that you?" But the Liontaur does not talk or move, but he has a feeling that some how this Taur is like a brother to him. A feeling of dread, a Vail of darkness comes over him, He turns to see a dark Hooded Taur near...
Flat-top Wakes, he's in a sweat. He then approaches Brahmah (because he's the leader) Kenisha ans Leets (because they all once saw Domi at Hearthold). Flat-top tells them about his dream, "What is Domi trying to tell us? To protect this Weimic? Are we going to meet a special Weimic? And from What? An Assassin? Or Forces of Evil??

Kanchana  d20+4=19
Thursday December 4th, 2003 9:26:06 AM

Before getting some sleep Kanchana asks if she can have the last watch. She tends to Vasch's body, to see if it made the journey in relative good condition. "Thank you all for helping me with carrying Vasch. I appreciate it."
Kanchana eats a little of the left over food she had in her haversack, and then lays down to sleep. She rests fitfully, her body twiching as she dreams.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Kanchana finds herself watching all of the Taurs go about their daily business as usual... no, not usual... They are moving slowly, flickering from place to place like the hot sun reflecting off of the tar-painted hulls of curraghs.
She doesn't realize where she is at first, until she hears snorts. *??* ...Oh that market...
Kanchana's thoughts gain focus and the people begin to look less and less like drifting shades and shapes. She looks at all the ships with a queezy knot in her stomach. Then she feels someone staring at her.
Kanchana wheels around and sees a fellow Wemic staring at her. She stares back at the male with disbelief written all over her features. "It's not safe here...." Kanchana ventures cautiously as she slowly walks towards the stranger. She stops and studies the ghostly hammer floating above his head. "Do I know you?"
Kanchana has an eery feeling that she somehow shares something with this stranger; something other than race.
All of a sudden; and without warning, everything feels dark and cold - as if the sun was stolen away. It is constricting and all encompassing. *fear*
Kanchana turns away from the stranger and sees another spirit figure. This one is less clear than the people at market were. This - Taur - looks to be shrouded in mist and is black as sin.
Black... mist... unclear... that can't be good.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Kanchana starts awake in the morning just before her watch and is struggling to breathe deeply. She looks frantically around for a bit trying to gain her bearings before calming down and rubbing her eyes.
She gets up and goes to the river to wash and get something to drink before praying for guidance, She prays for Vasch's soul as well. When she starts her watch she eats a few dry, cold rations. Kanchana thinks about the dream and feels that someone is trying to tell her something.
Kanchana mumbles softly to herself, "I was alone, no one else was there. Only the stranger and I seemed real, and the ghastly apparition..."

(Wisdom roll to realize that the dream must be something more than a dream; a portent maybe?)
(Wisdom 19)

Leets
Thursday December 4th, 2003 9:59:31 AM

As Leets begins to think they will have a quiet end of journey, he finds sleep easily near the campfire...

***

When he finds himself in the middle of the market place of Castle Violet, he first searches for his friends...When he realize he's alone, he knows there's a problem, but then notices the lone Liontaur at the table...

"Master...Master Astachos! What are you doing here! Do you bring news from Mother...Uh...Oh...You're not Master Astachos...Who are..."

Leets suddenly feels a wave of cold, darkness and evil biting his very bones, chilling him like no shadow could do...He spins on himself very quickly, and finds himself sword in hand - the sword he gave to Vrurt's child, ready to fight.

"Ashur? My brother? Brother...What are you doing here too..."

Leets cautiously comes closer, tightening his grip on the hilt of his sword...

"I don't see your face...Come closer...Who...Who are you? Oh! You I recognize! You are...YOU ARE!!!"

***

Leets suddenly wakes up, sweating a lot and scared...

He drinks some water, slowly, scared at any little noise made in the night. He won't sleep anymore this night, and will pray for Domi until dawn comes...

Gecktar
Thursday December 4th, 2003 3:20:14 PM

This is the perfect place after a hard day, eevn if there was no assault, the weigh of Vasch is more and more difficult to carry. Not because of the weigh of his corpse but also of the weigh of his death on their souls.
Now maybe a quiet place go help giving a restful sleep.
When the dream begin, Gecktar imediatly feels something strange. As the other dreams he receive from Domi. When the dark Taur appears the feeling becomes fear and as he stand up to face the darkness itself Gecktar wakes up covered whith sweat.
In the morning, he talks about his dream to is Captain Brahmah. If other can hear his story it's even better.

A weary morning. (DM Jim)
Thursday December 4th, 2003 4:08:40 PM

Though the dreams had been somewhat strange and frightening you all got a good nights rest. You spend the better part of the morning talking about the dream and trying to come to some understanding of it.

It is with a little heavier step that you all start out again towards Castle Violet. The going is still slower than you had expected and you still hope for the best. Then again one more days worth of travel will not make any difference and it gives you time to think.

[Kanchana realizes that the dream has something to do with a new companion...the last to fill thier number. The black figure is an unknown though as it could mean many different things.]

[Sorry for slowing things down. I am almost ready to get Tunc into the game and I wanted to do it before the end of the module. Please bear with me.]

Kanchana
Thursday December 4th, 2003 5:19:45 PM

Kanchana busily smears the scent breaker on everyone including herself, as they talk and eat breakfast. She listens to the others talking about the dream. She says simply, "someone else has been Called."

Kanchana looks over at Vasch's corpse for a while, she thinks about the dark hazy figure. Kanchana wonders if it was Death itself she saw. "I wonder if we will succeed in retrieving Vasch from where he has gone?" she thinks, "that shadow means something..."

Kanchana will ready her gear and hope that she will have help this time too to carry Vash to port. She is ready to go, having memorized her spells and prayed to Mother Wold after being jolted awake from the dream.

Taric
Friday December 5th, 2003 2:00:34 AM

His muscles still a bit sore and his minds filled with the remnants of the strange dream, Taric helps to carry Vasch.

Hearing the others talk about the same dream he had seemed strange at first, but then again, Imod ways were and have always been mysterious.

He listens to the others to try and figure out if they already found a clue to what it all could mean. Then Kanchana talks about the newest addition. Taric raises his eyebrows, but doesn't say anything. That must be some kind of addition, he thinks to himself.

Brahmah
Friday December 5th, 2003 2:04:27 AM

Brahmah wakes up and is quiet about the dream and doesn't say much about.
He helps with Vasch and apologizes to Kanchana about not helping yesterday.
His eyes dart cautiously here and there through the day, looking behind trees and bushes.
He checks on the children often and sends Pah'caw up to be on lookout.
He also seems to be pondering a few things not related to the current issues.
Overall, his mind wanders all day.

OOC: Man, up here in Washington state we're having wild winds and power outages more than usual ;).
Winds 60-80mph, trees coming down, power stations blowing up, 180,000+ people out of power, schools closed, my store closed which doesn't happen often... real crazy weather here. Oh yeah, and rain.

Friday December 5th, 2003 11:42:52 AM

The Centaur paladin is obvously worried and thoughtful all the way long to castle violet...

"I undoubtly feel the sign of the gods in our dreams...Now, we have to see which message was carried..."

Hearing the other's dream with interest, Leets thinks for a while...

"For the first one with the hammer, I'm also sure it's the last one we were waiting for to fulfill our quest..."

"As for the second one...The dark one..."

Leets' eyes suddenly become darker, and he swallows with pain...

"I've been thinking of something for a while, and I wonder if this dream isn't linked to my fears but...If Domi chose his holy servants for his holy purpose...Who knows if Marteaus didn't choose his own unholy servants....We may cross their way, after all..."

Gecktar
Friday December 5th, 2003 1:31:19 PM

Another day of travel and Castle Violet. (DM Jim)
Friday December 5th, 2003 4:10:28 PM

This days travel is also uneventful in that you see or hear nothing of the lone wemic that got away. Nervousness runs rampant in the group and you all are a might jumpy. The dark taur weighs heavily on most of your minds, but the sight of Castle Violet coming into view gives you new hope and dread.

Stopping at the edge of the swampland you survey the surrounding area and find nothing out of sorts. Suddenly this close to the port and a ship home you find yourselves a little unsure. Do you really want to enter the town and maybe face that which was in your dreams, but the children must be saved.

A break is called that turns into a decision to go into town in the morning hours. You know of a little temple just inside the gates that should assist you in getting Vasch back, Gargul willing. Besides a plan of action will need to be formed to get through town with minimal trouble.

Brahmah
Friday December 5th, 2003 5:38:14 PM

Brahmah finds the head of the temple as soon as we get there.
He requests that the Chosen are given sanctuary until they deside to leave. He states that the children are needing a warm shelter.
He only talks with the head cleric.
He also asks that they revive Vasch, the dead companion.

Brahmah
Friday December 5th, 2003 6:34:27 PM

REWIND!

Let's wait until eveing then move to the temple.

Then we'll ask what I asked in the first post.

Kanchana
Friday December 5th, 2003 7:06:58 PM

Kanchana smiles with genuine warmth at Flat-top, "thank you." Kanchana blushes and is touched by Flat-top's words, "I believe that Father Tomi has chosen all of us well."
She looks at Vasch and nods, "yes Father and Mother are looking after him. Leets, I hope that it isn't one of Marteus' servants we all saw. That Taur seemed cold and black as sin... shrouded in mist. Creepy."

************************************************

Kanchana trudges on heading back towards Castle Violet. She trusts that her paste is working satisfactorily.
She looks at Castle Violet and sighs. "I don't really want to go there. Is there any chance of circumventing town all together? they didn't like me much last time I was there, and don't expect it to be any better this time." Kanchana looks unusually nervous and edgy; maybe even scared. Thoughts of snorting Minotaurs and fanatic priests are still fresh in her mind.
She will follow the majority vote though; if anything she will continue to help carry Vasch to the best of her abilities.
If the Chosen do go into town and if Kanchana makes it to the Temple unmolested then she will not leave the temple until a ship has been contracted, or the Gods command it. She will spend all of her time helping with Vasch and praying.

Flat-top
Saturday December 6th, 2003 10:07:35 AM

Flat-top takes Kanchana's hand," Now listen to me, There's no reason to worry, If you ask me The dark Taur in our dreams is actuly Vasch trying to get back to us." Flat-top tries to see if this is impressing her, "We! Must do every thing possible to bring him back. I'll even give up my Morning Star that Domi gave me. Just to get him back. Now don't cry, just keep doing what your heart tells you to do." With this said Flat-top kisses her head.

Gecktar
Sunday December 7th, 2003 5:48:52 AM

Gecktar chest is released from a strong grasp when he sees Castle Violet. Here, at the temple, somebody will help them and secure them until they find a ship.
If he already knows the head priest of the temple, Gecktar will acompany Brahmah to ask for what they need and present the request for Vasch.

Kenisha
Sunday December 7th, 2003 11:35:27 PM

Keeping Domisha close to her side, Kenisha will follow Brahmah; silently praying to Domi for the strength of will make it to the temple and asking that the priests there are kinder to her child than the last one they met.

Leets
Monday December 8th, 2003 3:00:58 PM

Although Castke Violet is now in sight, Leets still be worried...He takes Domi's warning very seriously, an reamins aware of anything strange...

"Gecktar...We'd better remain cautious...The last High Priest of Domi who crossed our way was against us, and we had to flee...I don't know what Gargul thinks of the newborn Taurs...But...Be careful..."

Leets will ask for a quick break before the group enters the city...

"My friends...We all had the same dream, and we know we could encounter a dark, terrible foe in this place. Whatever happens once we have entered, remember we also have Domi by our side...and that the main thing is to save the little ones."

"May Domi bless you all..."

With an obvious fear, Leets will cast Bless on the group, prepare his weapons, and enter Castle Violet.

To the temple. (DM Jim)
Monday December 8th, 2003 3:22:14 PM

You slip through the wooden gates of the main city without incident. It does not take long for you to reach the temple and slip inside as a young priest ushers you in. He has you follow him to a room with several plush chairs and tables. Shortly after an aged priest enters the room smiling at you. "Please...calm yourselves and relax." He shoos the young priest away to bring food and drink to the room. "Noone will harm you within these walls...there are those that understand the meaning of the passages in the scriptures." Taking a seat he stares for a little while at the two children and you see tears form in his eyes. "It is easy to tell that they are not evil." The young priest returns with several trays of meats, cheese, apples, rolls and fruit juices. The older priest sweeps his hand at the food and even takes some himsef incase you are worried, eating it before you.

You talk for several hours of the stuff that is going on around Castle Violet. You find out that you all have a bounty on your heads of 100000 gold. The races have become split, even among thier own kind, about what the birth of the child means. Old feuds have been reopened and new ones have been started.

At last you come to another matter of great importance, getting Vasch brought back from the dead. "Ahhh...yes, I do believe that we can help you out." The old priest smiles at you all and nods his head. "I will perform the ceremony myself...but you know that you will have to appease Gargul...that is not easy." With a last look at you he makes to leave the room and make preperations. "Make yourselves comfortable...if you must go out please be careful...outside we cannot protect you."

[It is possible to move out into town in disguise to have a look around. Maybe look into the last dream that Domi gave you. Get a idea of the lay of the land and all.]

Kanchana
Monday December 8th, 2003 4:39:09 PM

Kanchana is; and looks, very impressed with what Flat-top has said. She looks at Flat-top and nods, "yes, I hope that it was Vasch's shade you and I; at least, saw and not something evil... But it felt so cold and dark."
Looking glum she says, "my poor heart is confused and hurting... I only know that I too must do all I can to bring Vasch back and keep the Children safe."
Kanchana makes a whole-hearted effort to smile when Flat-top kisses her head. She whispers "no one has done that since my mother!" She gives Flat-top's hand a light squeeze.

Kanchana pauses in thought before saying, "I am afraid of the commoners reactions though. This place is far bigger than that village. I didn't like those snorts the first time I heard them!"

************************************************

Kanchana is very tense as she walks through the gates, and she continues to be extremely on edge until the Priest shows that he means well and serves food. However her tentitive 'relaxation' is shattered when she hears about the price on their heads! Her jaw almost literally hits the floor, she is that shocked! Kanchana puts the apple she just grabbed on the table; having missed the fruitbowl in her shocked and dazed state.
She registers what the Priest says about bringing Vasch back, but doesn't react to it immediately.
Kanchana clumsily excuses herself from the others' company still feeling dazed.
"I... I need to think. I will be praying for Vasch's safe return to us. I will include prayers to Gargul this time. Excuse me."
Kanchana gives a half-bow to the priest and leaves the room going to the room where Vasch is at.
Kanchana will spend several hours; if nothing pressing occurs or no one needs or wants to talk to her, praying and fasting.

Brahmah
Monday December 8th, 2003 6:27:13 PM

Brahmah is careful as the approach the temple, aware of everything, and everyone.
He enters last, taking one last look into the town.
As he's offered the food, he inspects it and kindly declines. "Can't be too careful. A 100,000 gold could keep a small city like this going for years... or a small temple. Money can corrupt even the simplist of folk." He eyes the old priest and gives an apologetic nod, so not to directly offend him. "I've learned not to trust blindly."

As the priest leaves, and no other cleric from the temple is about, Brahmah draws his weapons and sets them on his lap. "There, now I'm comfy." He pats his Falchion. "This seems too easy, the last clerics we came across tried to burn us."
He looks at the newest of the Chosen, Gecktar. "I realize Domi chose you, but you have free will too, you can leave and be safe and we won't think you cowardly. Alot of people will want that 100,000 gold! Several of us will probably die too... or again!"

Flat-top
Monday December 8th, 2003 9:19:26 PM

Flat-top watches the others, but knowing that the little one are restless and really want some fruits. Flat-top will eat an apple, "Hmm! These fruits are very good" then to the mothers he said "Not to worry the little one are safe."
To Leets, he tells him "Be careful Friend. I will watch the little ones here."
And to Brahmah, the centaur tell him,"You know Captain, I love it when you look to the bright side of life." Flat-top smiles.

Kenisha and Domisha  d20+3=21 d20+5=15
Monday December 8th, 2003 11:28:59 PM

Kenisha judges the priest's words carefully for signs of deception. It disturbs her that she has to be this untrusting of a fellow Taur, but the past few days have left her soul weary and scarred. (Sense Motive check=21)

Once the priest has left and Flat-top has bitten into the apple, Kenisha says, "I hope you don't think me morbid, my friend, but I think I shall hold off letting Domisha eat anything until we see how you fare with your apple."

(Heal check=15 on Flat-top)

Domisha for her part seems very intent on getting her fingers on some of the grapes on the table. Much to her mother's consternation.

Only after making sure that Flat-top hasn't suffered any ill effects from the food will Kenisha eat and allow Domisha to eat.

Taric
Tuesday December 9th, 2003 2:10:10 AM

Taric follows along, most of the time lost in thought. When they reach the temple though and hear the priest talking about their bounty, he notices the severe reactions from some of the other Chosen.

"Well, that's the first time I'm worth my wieight in gold. And more." grins Taric.

Getting serious right away he says to both mothers.
"Like Brahmah said, a lot of people will do a lot for 100,000 gold. I think it would be best if we form some kind of circle with the chairs. The children inside, the warriors outside, the spellcasters in the middle. That way in case something happens, the children will be safest."

When Kanchana leaves to go to the room where the body of Vasch remains, Taric will follow at a distance just to see where Kanchana is going. If possible, Taric will remain halfway between that room and the main room where the other Chosen are so he can keep any eye on both.

Brahmah
Tuesday December 9th, 2003 3:04:12 AM

The Captain roars with laughter at Kenisha's apple comment.

Leets
Tuesday December 9th, 2003 3:37:37 AM

The Centaur paladin nods at Brahmah's comment.

"100000! Wow...Somebody really want our heads...But who?"

Although a little bit surprised by the priests' greetings, Leets will remain doubtful...He hears their words with attention, and suddenly feels a new weight on his shoulders...

"The Taur people is splintering...I have to say I thought it could happen...That's already what happened with Bloran..."

"That's such a pity...It could have been the sign for us all to unite, and instead of it it could end in a blood bath..."

Leets will do as much as he can with his clerical knowledge to help for Vasch return.

"Vasch...You have to come back friend...You don't have the choice, because Domi will need all his Chosen for the task that wait for us..."

Flat-top
Tuesday December 9th, 2003 7:10:32 AM

Flat-top smiles at Kenisha as he takes a handful of grapes, eat them "Yes Mother Kenisha, That is very wise of you" Then his face grow sad, "You know I never said that I was wrong, when you had your union bless with our old friend. Now that Domisha is here,I see my old friend in her, I'm sorry that I ever doubted you."
Flat-top will go to see if Kanchana and Tauric are alright, just to see them deep in prayer.

Last Comments and a Petition. (DM Jim)
Tuesday December 9th, 2003 4:06:36 PM

The old priest smiles as he turns before leaving. "I do not take offense...you will find the food safe, but caution is always a necessity of life." With a last glance to the group he leaves. "I go to prepare for the ceremony to Gargul...those that want to attend can...actually you all might want to attend for a good showing and an offering to Gargul should be brought...something person and sentimental." He then leaves to the room that Vasch's body is being kept in.

Preparations are made for the ceremony to petition Gargul. Braziers are light around the room along with candles set up in ceremonial positions. The old priest uncovers Vasch's body and with special dyes starts to paint on the ritual tatoos that will help guide his spirit back with Gargul's grace. He smiles as he listens to the prayers of Kanchana to Gargul for the safe return of their friend. He sets Leets to the task of setting out those ceremonial offerings to Gargul and then have him take robes to The Chosen that want to attend.

Back in the room The Chosen have set up the chairs in a circle with thier backs facing each other. The children play in the middle of the floor with some blocks provided by one of the priests. The food has had no effect on Flat-top and is soon deemed safe to eat. You all relax as the ceremony is being prepared knowing that it will take at least an hour to get things set up.

At last it is time to start the ceremony and all those that want are present. The old priest stands in the middle of the room near an alter that Vasch's body is laying on. Two younger priests are standing to each side of him with incense holders in hand. The old priest starts reciting a prayer that tells of the glories of Gargul. With a strained look on his face he starts chanting the spell that will bring Vasch back. "Art lia monta hylina varta Gargul." His voice raises to a pitched level as he continues. "Oh great Gargul...master of the dead...I make a petition to you on behalf of The Chosen for the spirit of thier friend." Beads of sweat start to form on his face and he shakes as he pours more of his own energy into the ceremony. "This one they call Vasch has passed into your domain my Lord...he has unfinished business on this side and is needed...if it is within your wishes to let him back we would be honored." He falls back into some more praises of Gargul in the clerical tongue.

Gecktar
Tuesday December 9th, 2003 4:35:55 PM

"Thanks Brahmah for you consideration. But as you said Domi choose me. How can I avoid my fate. It will certainly catch me sooner or later. I think this mission is worth, even to the cost of my life or freedom. So I will follow you... blindly... as Domi show me the ways."

Gecktar will then assist the priest in the preparation of the ceremony, and will stay praying near Vasch.

Flat-top
Tuesday December 9th, 2003 5:47:26 PM

Flat-top stand there, like the stalion on guarding hid heard, But in side of him he wonders 'What came I offer to Gargul that is personal to me. I have nothing, I usaly give to the children we come across on our way.'
Uneasy when Leets come along with the robes and to collect the personal offerings. Flat-top will take a robe to put on, then takes his beloved Morning Star that Domi gave him when he was first chosen, with a lump in his chest, he tell Leets "Here take my Morning Star, that Domi gave me, offer it to Gargol for the life of Vaschh."
Flat-top will stand in prayer with the others.

Kanchana
Tuesday December 9th, 2003 6:01:39 PM

Kanchana will continue her prayers until Leets gives her a robe. She reguards the robe and mumbles something about it not being her style before carefully removing the carved wooden symbol of Domi from her bodice with a sharp knife. She cuts a small cut on her index finger and lets her blood flow onto the holy symbol before handing the wooden shield to Leets. She wraps her cut finger in a clean piece of cloth and dons the robe. "I only have that, my prayers and my blood to give that is valuable to me. I hope that it is a worthy enough gift," Kanchana says softly.
Kanchana will decline any offers of food - she will continue her fast until the ceremony is over. She will do all that she can to assist the Priest, including lending her shoulder for support if he gets dizzy or tired. Kanchana continues her prayer to Mother Wold, Father Tomi and Gargul - just silently now, as the Priest chants. Her gaze wanders between the Priest and Vasch's body.

Gargul [CDM Jerry]
Tuesday December 9th, 2003 6:51:12 PM

The room darkens noticably and mists begin to swirls around viciously as if a whirlwind was actually in the room.

A voice booms deafening all.

"WHO CALLS FOR THE LIFE OF THIS ONE. SHOW THE COURAGE OF THE CHOSEN, COME, AND FACE ME! I WILL HAVE ANSWERS!"

Then there is an INCREDIBLE booming of thunder.

The body begins to rise a shimmering gateway forms and the body begins to flow through it.

Kanchana
Tuesday December 9th, 2003 7:35:36 PM

Kanchana will immediately follow Vasch's body through the gate; especially since she holds herself partly responsible for his untimely demise. She is wary and a little afraid though, but shows no hesitation in haring off through the gate.

Kenisha and Domisha
Tuesday December 9th, 2003 11:23:48 PM

When Leets comes to hand out the robes and to collect the offerings, Kenisha bites her lower lip but stil she unbraids one lock and untangles the agate bead that was held there.

"Save for my precious Domisha, this bead is all I have left from Kalon. He gave it to me the day we declared ourselves bonded to one another." Kenisha places the bead in Leets' hand and curls his fingers around it tightly.

She then dons the robe provided.

Domisha, having watched her mother and the others giving things, clomps over and, with a winsome smile, hands Leets a half wilted/half dried crown of flowers she has been carrying for the past few days.

Kenisha (cont)
Tuesday December 9th, 2003 11:29:38 PM

(oops I forgot to reload the page before entering my post, so I didn't see Jerry's til now. And Netscape 7.1 is really starting to bug me. :( )

When the gateway forms, Kenisha turns to Vrurt, "Keep Domisha safe for me. This is something I must do." before making her way through the portal.

Flat-top
Wednesday December 10th, 2003 12:42:54 AM

Flat-top watches the ceremony and when the portals open, with his head bowed flat-top will follow the body to the other side. Whispering to himself 'This is the second time I came in here. But if it will help the Weimic Vasch.'

Taric
Wednesday December 10th, 2003 1:13:00 AM

Taric can't think of anything valuable to himself. Not many things had real value to him. Then he realizes it. His callligraphy tools. He hadn't been able to make any drawings the past weeks, but it was one of his most beloved things. Rumagging through his backpack he takes out the tools and 1 sheet of paper and hands them to Leets.

Taric then dons the robe and follows the others, standing in silent prayer until the gate opens. Taric hesitates just for a second, but then follow inside.

Brahmah
Wednesday December 10th, 2003 1:48:40 AM

As the Chosen enter, one after the other, the Captain dons a robe and enters behind Taric.
He whispers to the mage after seeing the hesitation, "This is new to me too."

As the Lord of the Dead speaks, a chill runs in Brahmah's spine, the same chill that caught him after fighting Raakis when he nearly died... a feeling of familiarity or deja vu.

"Lord, Brahmah Captain and leader of the Chosen, I am a simple ranger of the Wide Blue Waters in life and a warrior for Domi in spirit.... this Chosen of Domi, Vasch, is a mighty spirit and fell in defense of the Children of Domi and his fellow Chosen. He serves Domi in all things and will serve you well, if you choose to take him.
However, I don't believe he's ready for the Lands of the Dead. He will be a great asset in the coming conflicts."

The Captain unbraids the feather from his hair and offers it to Gargul.
"This belonged to a great bard, and friend, Zeoll the Greater... he's here with you, he might like this back... if you'd be ablidged, Lord. Tell him hello."

Leets
Wednesday December 10th, 2003 4:37:00 AM

A veil of sadness covers Leets eyes as he gathers the gifts for Gargul. He sincerely hope he won't have to perform such a ceremony anymore, but deep inside he also knows that the Chosen quest is not over..Not at all...

Once he has offered the gifts, he takes his own shield.

"Here the holy protector Domi himself once offered me at the Hearthold Keep, home of the Chosen and haven of the Reunited Heart. I'm greatly honored to offer it to you, allmighty Lord of the Deads, for it contains a holy sparkle of Domi's power..."

Leets put the shield near the altar, with all the other gifts.

As Gargul appears impressively, Leets has to gather his moral strength before making a first step in thed irection of the portal.

"Lord of the Deads! The Chosen won't let one of them alone in the dark before his time has come! We still have a lot to do, and by Domi's will we must bring back our brother Taur! I'm ready to face you for Vasch returns, for our quest is holy and righteous!"

Leets makes one last step to reach the portal.

Paw'caw[ceil]
Wednesday December 10th, 2003 6:27:24 AM

Paw'caw for once she will not take a comand from Brahmah, She's purch with the children and will not enter the Portal.

Managram{ceil}
Wednesday December 10th, 2003 6:53:33 AM

Managram follows Leets every where, except when it came time to enter the portal. Managram just sit there (in frount of the portal) and whines "Whines".

Gecktar
Wednesday December 10th, 2003 4:00:32 PM

Gecktar helps the priest for the ceremony and join his prayers to those of all other.
When the portal opens and the thunder sounds in the room, Gecktar feels a compulsion to go thru the it.
Standing up and taking his hammer in both hands he approches the portal.
"You know who I am as you are omniscient, you also knows that I faithfully serve Domi. This is his symbol that I give to you the strength of my faith is almost as strong as the steel of this weapon. And... I ... knows one thing : the fate of Vasch is by our side to fight the emisaries of Evil. Our fight is right as Leets said. We must gather all forces we can find. Vasch was one of them. May you, in your greatness and your glory find the way to our hearts to see the emptyness that the death of our friend leave."
After saying that he cross the portal leaving his hammer beyond.

Gargul [CDM Jerry]
Wednesday December 10th, 2003 7:55:12 PM

The assemblage comes through to the other side. Here the colors are brighter and the warmth of the sun coming in through the far end of the amphitheatre warming of both heart and bones.

The front of the amphitheatre is bleak and black filled with darkness making this a scene of extreme contrasts.

The body floats towards the throne and stops there.

A voice booms, "HOW DID THIS CHOSEN ONE DIE AND WHO CLAIMS RESPONSIBILITY FOR HIS DEMISE?

"SPEAK TO ME OF THE MANNER OF THIS EVENT. I WOULD HEAR YOU VOICE IT."

Upon the throne, floating in his spiritual form is a single eye. None can look into it directly without seeing his own mortality.

Domi [CDM Jerry]
Wednesday December 10th, 2003 8:02:05 PM

A second immortal voice speaks walking in from the bright golden fields. Wearing a monk robe, he approaches.

"I TOO WOULD HEAR THE VOICING OF THIS TALE. SPEAK IT TRUTHFULLY AND SPEAK IT WELL -- FOR I AM DISTURBED BY RECENT EVENTS AND WOULD SEE WHAT FORM OF COURAGE CAN BE DEMONSTRATED THIS DAY!"

Domi does not look happy. His hands close and clench as if he wishes an opponent was in those massive hands.

Brahmah
Wednesday December 10th, 2003 11:52:39 PM

The Captain's eyes get large and teary as he sees Domi, upset and chastizing the Chosen.
"LORD, I am the leader of the Chosen and hereby responsible for our actions."
He steps forward, placing himself inbetween the Chosen and the Gods.

"I suppose the incidents started in the village where your blessed ones were born. The villagers there weren't happy with what they called 'the Ambominations', so Vrurt the mother of one child ran to save herself and newborn.
Meanwhile, the Chosen had been in the center courtyard fending off the advancing villagers, who wanted Kenisha and Domisha dead as well, so we set an escape and left in search of Vrurt and the child.
The village was damaged in the escape, but not directly by us.
We fled to an island, where...wait, we ran acrossed some pilgrims who came with gifts for the children.
Then we came to the island, Lord Domi, were Vrurt befriended a dryad who was protecting her. Little did we know that the Mailed Fist followed us from the village. There was parlay, then a battle, led by myself and the leader of the Fist called Miroband. The assault on us was brutal, they had archers, a cleric or two and a wizard, all who bombarded us fast and heavy. We were disorganized and ... well, lacking cooperation. But, eventually, we proveiled but were badly hurt. Miroband escaped in a magical fashion, but not before leaving his fellows behind, like a coward.
Vasch did not fall there. All of us were hurt.
I commanded the withdrawl from the dryad island and was in such a hurry to get away because we had no idea if he'd return with reinforcements, I failed to have our healers work their healings. No efforts were made to heal in the escape or that night when we constructed a raft for the mothers and children.
The next day we set out, raft and all, down river.
Vasch was our advanced scout, he seemed tense, calls were made to him, he continued on.
There was an ambush set by six wemic. As far as I know, they weren't associated with Miroband.
Vasch was the first of us encountered. To the best of my knowledge, he attacked with little hesitation and was too fast.
Seconds later he fell, it happened soo fast, Lord. It could have been prevented, but even now, I don't know how!"
Brahmah's head falls to a bow.
"I failed. You. Them."
"I'll do anything. I do not know your will, Lord, do you want Vasch with you?"
Brahmah hesitates.
"Do you want me?"

Kanchana
Thursday December 11th, 2003 2:24:22 AM

Kanchana looks at both Gods with wide eyes and quickly averts her gaze to the floor. She listens very carefully to Brahmah's words. When he finishes she steps up next to him and politely clears her throat; she looks up at the Gods for a brief second before dropping her gaze.

"Exalted High Fathers - I, Kanchana of the Vuai pride, Warden of Mother Wold, petty wizard and Called to serve High Father Tomi and His people, have need to speak as well. Captain Brahmah has made a few omissions to protect me. There was only one 'healer' among us then; me. I too have failed You, the Chosen and especially Vasch." She will not look at Brahmah as she stands next to him, knowing that he will not be very pleased that she; once again, has defied his leadership. Kanchana holds only herself responsible for what happend to Vasch and will not have anyone else take the blame.

Her voice is filled with anguish and shame as she continues, "That night after battle when we rested, I offered what healing I could give. I am no cleric so mostly my healing comes from herbs and mundane means, or magic items. Few accepted my offer. I am guilty of not making them accept it. I am guilty of selfishness... I was tired and heart-weary; I did not care enough. ...I didn't want to fight the humans... they do not understand what had happend, and should never have interfered... Most of all I am guilty of pettiness, my Healing wand is my own and I wanted to conserve it's uses."
Kanchana goes silent for a moment fighting a lump in her throat and tears. "I utterly failed my calling as a Healer due to miserliness. Vasch payed the price that I should have paid. I wish that he should live. If one should take Vasch's place in Gargul's pridelands then it should be me not Captain Brahmah or Vasch. I will do so willingly if that is what is needed."

Kanchana glances askance for a heartbeat or two and reachs over and gives Brahmah's closest hand a quick, light squeeze before clasping her hands in front of her again. "High Fathers, Captain Brahmah is a good captain. He is not at fault for my unruliness. I do not listen well. I know that right now he is mentally shaking his head at my continued insubordinations. I will not have him pay for my faults. The Chosen and the children need his guidance. I, however, am no longer necessary now that we have a true Healer Called to stand with us." Kanchana is being utterly sincere and is certain that she alone has no real role of importance to fill. She repeats to herself 'Father Tomi loves all of his children. Mother Wold loves all of her children. They will see that Vasch is safe.' She ignores for the moment the terrible fact that Father Tomi is very upset.

Kenisha
Thursday December 11th, 2003 6:23:02 AM

Kenisha steps forward next; bowing deeply before the Gods.

"Divine Fathers, I too must accept some responibility. In my pride, I did not think to stay behind at Hearthold Isle while the others went to find the child we saw in our dreams. Because of this, we were not near to Vrurt when she had her child; forcing her to flee on her own with her child. Because of my weakened state and my child, the Chosen could not catch up to Vrurt as quickly as they would have without me."

She falls silent for a moment then bows again. "You Wills be Done."

Flat-top
Thursday December 11th, 2003 7:36:13 AM

Flat-top steps up next, with his head bowed, he speaks "My Lord Domi, you knoe me very well, I have served your wishes with out question. But it was not our Captain fault, it was ours. I build the raft that had taken thr children down the stream. When we came upon the ambush those weimic set up. I had to stand beside the raft on the ground that I was the last wall they had to go through, I had to protect those little one. But that's no excuse to let a fine fighter of yours die."

Then Flat-top turns to Gadgul, "Lord of the land of the Dead, You hold four of the Weimic we killed, so that they would not get to the children, They ambush and killed the hero of the Chosen, he gave up his life for the sake of the Unitaurs. Vasch did his best with out question, he held off these cowards untill the rest of us arrived. Please I beg of you, give Vasch back to the Chosen, for the job is not done yet and take me instead. I will do what ever you decied."

Taric
Thursday December 11th, 2003 9:13:42 AM

Taric tries to look up, but seeing the anguish in Imod and the eye of Gargul, he casts his eyes down quickly an when nodoby else speaks, says, barely audible above a whisper:

"I am just a simple Taur. I am to blame for what happened. Putting The Art higher than your and our goal, unifying all the Taurs under your way, my Lord Imod. Thinking myself bigger than to use every resource that was available to me. For not studying hard enough to prevent the situations that arose, instead of fighting them. I've learned humbleness from those events, but I know I've too much to learn to continue on. Vasch always was ready and is too valuable to the Chosen. I'll take his place here with you, oh Lord Gargul, if only you could let Vasch fullfill the destiny he has....."

Taric's voice trails away. A single tear forms in his lefteye and slowly slides across his cheek. He is trembling light, but unmistakenly. It is obvious all this could be too much for him.

Leets
Thursday December 11th, 2003 1:04:45 PM

After his fellows speak and say their own point of view, Leets falls on his four knees. True tears flows on his cheek, and his hands are tightly joined in a prayer.

However, when Taric finishes his last word, he stands up, wipes his nose, and firmly closes his fists.

"Holy Father...Allmighty Lord of the Deads...If a stranger could see this scene, surely he would be surprised to see two gods facing only a handful of humble servants. However, when he would know that a brave, blind and devoted sacrifice is at the very center of this event, he would probably understand."

"Holy Father, Vasch died bravely serving you. I now see that a legion of opponents is rising from the darkness of evil to step accross the way of our holy quest. And Vasch is only one victim of the war that is taking place..."

"I also claim responsability for the dramatic event that led to the lost of a brave servant of Your Will. Yourself, Holy Father, offered me a sparkle of your holy power to grant protection to our fellowship in this holy quest. Protection, that's what I, myself, should grant to my comrades in arms...My friends...Spiritual protection, against the mists of darkness that are about to rise on our way...And physical protection, so that everybody reaches the end of the journey..."

"I failed, Holy Father, because the doubt has darkened my faith. There is, Holy Father, too much taur blood on my hands for me to keep in mind our final, holy goal. There are, Holy Father, too much Taur brothers standing on my way, their eye blind to your miracle, and their ear deaf to your holy words. There are, Holy Father, too many Taur Brothers who want the death of hope, the death of innocent babies...Too much weight, Holy Father, for my heart and soul. I doubted, and failed to protect my friends. To serve your holy servant."

"Because of this, Holy Father, I could offer my life for Vasch's life. But I won't."

"Holy Father Domi, Allmighty Lord of the Deads, we need all the Chosen in those troubled time. Whoever they are. Captain, healer, living and deads. The storm that clouds my faith, Holy Father, can only be cleared by the hope of better days, and I want all my friends to be there, I, want to be there, to see this day when it will come. I won't beg you, I don't deserve anything. I only trust your wisdom and your divine nature: the Wold needs the Chosen. Now, all together, for the best, for hope."

Leets bows, and steps backward. Some anger can be heard in his voice, and blood stains his hands. He will then remain silent, waiting for the gods reaction.

Gecktar
Thursday December 11th, 2003 1:25:02 PM

Gecktar stays silent. Dwarfed by the presence of his Lord and Gargul. No need to say that if he is here significate that he accept the fate Domi weave for him. Be it staying here in Gargul's kingdom to help Vasch rebirth to the earth.
No need to say that everyone in the group make some fault that can designate him for being responsible of the death of Vasch, even him as he don't heal them as soon as he saw they was wounded.
No need to say that the responsabilities are somewhere else...
No need to say that beyond the ambush, sapping the effort of the chosen hide in shrouded darkness Marteaus and his emisaries.
No need to say that if Vasch fall, it's because on the dark schemes of Marteaus making everything to stop the chosen as their quest is right.
No need to say that each chosen is a important piece on the chessboard and that the mission of Vasch isn't finished...

No need to say... I love you my lord... And I will give my life ten times if I could. But I will always hope that only one will be sufficient to accomplish the quest you give me, with the strength and courage you give to me.

Gargul [CDM Jerry]
Thursday December 11th, 2003 10:29:46 PM

Gargul broods. The eye floats. It then desolves into a tan skinned man in travelling clothes.

He stands. And stares at Kanchana. Nothing is said out loud, but there is communication in that stare. Communication that says that things will get tougher. Combats more deadly. Opponents bolder. She must realize that healing belongs to all. He charges her in that moment to see that the party healing is better organized. That all have potions. That all who can heal, even thieves who can sometimes make such things work, carry ample healing. He charges her to keep her party as fit and ready to defend themselves as is possible at all times.

Then the God of Death and Life smiles and looks to Domi, The God of Courage.

"THEY WEAR YOUR COURAGE WELL INDEED.'

Domi [CDM Jerry]
Thursday December 11th, 2003 10:39:32 PM

"I AM PROUD.

"I WAS ANXIOUS ABOUT PRIDE. BUT I SEE ONLY DEDICATION. THEY WILL LEARN. THIS IS A HARD LESSON.

"HOWEVER IT IS NOT THEM THAT TROUBLES ME. IT IS THE EVIL THAT RAISES ITS HEAD AGAINST MY TAURS! THE GODS OF TESTING THINK THEY CAN TEST ME ANE MINE!

"HEAR ME, MY CHOSEN AND BEWARE. THE TIME OF TESTING IS ABOUT TO BEGIN.

"TAURS MAY FORSAKE YOU. I WILL NOT."

GARGUL [CDM Jerry]
Thursday December 11th, 2003 10:45:18 PM

"NOR WILL I. YOU HAVE EARNED THE LIFE OF YOUR FRIEND WITHOUT CONSEQUENCE.

"YOU HAVE REMINDED ME THIS DAY WHY I STRIVE SERVE THE NOBLE RACES AS GOD. IT HAS BEEN AN HONOR TO RETURN YOUR COMPANION TO YOU. MEETING YOU HAS FILLED ME WITH PRIDE.

"LIVE WELL!

The Return of a Friend [DM Jerry]
Thursday December 11th, 2003 10:49:24 PM

Vasch sits up slowly. Looking around he takes in the contrast of darkened amphitheatre and sunlight beyond.

He is alive.

[Jerry: Wow friends! You've impressed me with your roleplay here. Let me reward you for this with two wands of Cure Serious Wounds cast at 15th level. Use them! [grinning]]

Brahmah
Friday December 12th, 2003 12:21:29 AM

Watching Vasch sit up, the minotaur helps his friend up and starts to leave.
He turns to his Gods.
"Lords." He says simply, with a tilt of his head.

Thinking to himself, 'Domi is Proud of us? An Honor for the Death God?' These words would have great meaning to the Captain, until he makes his final journey to the Lands of the Dead. Things will change for the Captain...

Kanchana
Friday December 12th, 2003 12:46:29 AM

Kanchana feels compelled to look up, and looks straight at Gargul in his new aspect. Though nothing is said she 'instinctively' realizes that he is tasking her with the health of the others, and that she needs to change her way of thinking. She knows that she has a huge task ahead of her, one she intends to take very seriously. This is pretty profound and Kanchana is feeling rather overwhelmed, but determined to learn from this. Kanchana thinks "we are going to need more healing wands. I wonder who else can use them? I will ask..."
Kanchana shakes her head slightly; as if to clear it, "High Fathers, thank you so very much for this greatest gift of life for Vasch!" Kanchana is beaming and gives both Gods a low, very reverential bow. Then she hurries over to Vasch and giving him a big hug. She also helps Vasch to leave.
Kanchana thinks about what Gargul and Tomi have said about being proud and being honored, and she has no words for how that makes her feel. It is so profound and full of meaning that her poor heart and head just can't quite fathom it all. Proud... honored... wow! She will never forget this experience for as long as she lives, nor the charge given her.

(If Kanchana is given the two wands after Gargul charges her with the safe-keeping of the others health, then she will make sure that Gecktar gets one of them ASAP after exiting the portal. She figures that it would be right for Gecktar and her to have them to dispense for the Chosen, as they will probably be the primary healers. After that she will hear who else can use a wand of healing and will see if whatever wands the Chosen have can be split up so that everyone who can will have a chance to help a team-mate in need of healing.)

Brahmah
Friday December 12th, 2003 1:39:54 AM

"Kanchana, I can use one. Though, I'll be on the front line o'battle and will likely NOT be using it." He smiles.

Kenisha
Friday December 12th, 2003 2:50:42 AM

Tears spring to Kenisha's eyes as she hears those words from the Gods. She bows very low then as Vasch sits up she clasps her hands over her mouth and trots over to him, resting a hand on his shoulder.

(OOc- Actually, having someone in the thick of battle with a wand isn't a bad idea. Just like in real life with our First Responders, the first person to notice there is a problem is usually the closest one there.)

Eunice (Kanchana) OOC
Friday December 12th, 2003 4:39:08 AM

Yes I agree. I would like to start an email discussion on this topic shortly. Everyone willing....
I think that everyone who can use a wand should have a CLW wand (they are the cheapest; so far more accessible to purchase).

Flat-top
Friday December 12th, 2003 7:40:36 AM

This is the third time he stands before his Lord Domi, and it is still the same feeling. As Lord Gargul passes by, almost the same feeling for this God, Flat-top will have a more of an understanding of the God of Death.
As Vasch rises and come back to them. He bows to the Gods "Thank you for our Brother." Then leaves with the rest of the Taurs.

Leets
Friday December 12th, 2003 11:57:05 AM

The Centaur paladin runs at Vasch when he comes back, and help him stand on his legs as he realize his fellow is alive.

"Oh! Oh thank you Allmighty Lord of the Deads!"

He bows with a whole new respect at Domi, and nods.

"Holy Father, once more your words knew how to touch our hearts and soul in those troubled time. Hearing from your mouth that an ennemy is rising made my doubts a new faith. This opponent now has a face, and he will soon now that the sparkle of holy power Domi grants to his servants can become a fiery fire..."

"Thanks you, Allmighty Lord. Thank you for all..."

OOC: Gecktar could be good choice for the "first line healer". He's new and we haven't discussed his role, but he seems to have both fighting and healing abilities, no?

"Holy

Vasch
Friday December 12th, 2003 2:32:51 PM

With a great gasp, Vasch's eyes open. he sits up with help of the others. "The pridelands," he pauses, "They are beautiful." He looks up to all the others, "I felt a pull, a task left undone. At the time I didn't know what it was. As I ran through the grasslands and with the my ancestors, I felt it. The pull became incredible. It was all I could do to run with the others." He stops and thinks. It is apparent that he still has some memories of the beyond. "I remember breaking away from the others." Vasch looks at Brahmah, "They just smiled as if they knew; they knew my time had not yet come." Vasch's gaze, after looking at the others, fixes with Kanchana. "I ran and I ran. The once lush pridelands moved faster and faster until it look like a blur around me. Faster and faster I moved; the sights around me slowly became black. Everywhere was black except for a small bit of white out in front of me. It was small at first, very small. I had to concentrate to even see it. Closer and closer I got; larger and larger it became until the white replaced the black and I opened my eyes here before all of you."

He stands and accepts the greetings of the others. "I'm glad to be back with you, and I'm sorry for any worry I caused. I can only hope to be worthy of the gift, the second chance you have given me."

Vasch turns to Tomi and Gargul. Kneeling he speaks, "Thank you my lords."

Gecktar
Friday December 12th, 2003 4:16:25 PM

As usually with simple words Domi gives all the Chosen strength and courage to fight the enemy.
His eyes filled with tears Gecktar kneel before the two Gods wording in his mind thanks for the returned life of Vasch.
He then take the portal back. When in the temple they put in action the words of Gargul to have better healing strategy.

OOC : I have a wand full of CLW. As a cleric I can take the role of the "first line healer". Not bad in fight but above all able to provide some enhancements for the fighters... and of course some healing.

Back in the cloister. (DM Jim)
Friday December 12th, 2003 4:19:41 PM

Back in the inner cloister of the temple you find yourselves embracing your returned friend. The old priest smiles wearily as he leans on the two younger priests. "I take it that you found favor with my lord Gargul." With a nod the two young priests start to lead him out of the room and most obviously to his bed. With a last look back the priest gestures to the tokens that you had given to Gargul. "Your show of faith was strong...these things belong to you still." As he is walking away you hear him speaking lightly. "A test that they have passes with admiration...more though I see for them."

Shortly after the old priest is taken to his bed one of the two young priests comes back. "I am to take you to a room that you may get some rest at." With a pause at the door he makes sure that you are ready to leave, he then leads you to a nice room with several taur type beds set up on the floor. You find the children already alseep with Vrurt standing watch over them. She consciously switches the morningstar in her hand as she smiles to the group. You all settle down and get some much needed rest after a meeting with two gods.

Early the next morning you find yourselves awaken by the same young priest who takes you all to a table set up with food. The old priest enters though slowly, still feeling the effects of yesterday. He smiles as he takes a seat at the table. "You are in better spirits this morning I see." He takes some of the biscuits and eats them slowly, after spreading a fruit paste on them. "Gargul sent me a message in my dreams last night that two are waiting for you in the streets. The liontaur is eating in the central square looking the bright warriors and the other is darker than blackness." With a shudder he takes another bite of his biscuit. "I fear this is a bad omen." The rest of the meal he is mostly silent. With the well wishes of the old priest and several others of the clergy here they see you off on your quest.

The streets are a bustle with taurs going about thier regular business. Noone seems to make a commotion about you walking down the street. Some of them do point and stare but overall they seem to shy away. Then you spot the liontaur from your dream and you can almost make out the hammer floating over his head. He looks up as if sensing your presence and his destiny.

[Here is your entrance Tunc, make the best of it.]

[A long post this time to move you on a little, but feel free to post to anything that I have done in this one from the beginning.]

Tunc - Hello
Friday December 12th, 2003 5:54:06 PM

OOC: Hello everyone. You have done indeed amazing in front of the Gods. It is very nice to be a part of the group. I am at your service. Also open to any feedback or suggestion, as I am new here. Thank you also for the short summary of the recent events to the Gods. It has been also helpful for me.

Toros
Friday December 12th, 2003 6:25:00 PM

Toros looks around, the people, streets, buildings... all seeming to be familiar to him. But cannot identify the source of this familiarity: Was it because he came here before, confuses with another place he went, or even saw in his dream. Anyway, this feeling of strange familiarity makes him to perceive anything around him much lively than normal. He feels that even if it was not in the past, after this time today and this place will be a very vivid memory in his mind and soul!

What he was doing here? He does not know, yet minds neither the question nor the answer.

Then, he recognizes the group of Taurs. From his viewpoint they are at the center of attention, moving fluently in the street to his direction, as if the crowd is giving way for them to walk towards and eventually meet him.

Kanchana  d20+5=13 d20+3=8
Saturday December 13th, 2003 6:18:32 PM

Kanchana will take back her symbol of Domi, she will not clean her dried blood from it. Later that evening she will wrap herself in her cloak and take off her bodice so she can sew the shield back on. As she sews; and if no one else has gone to sleep yet, Kanchana will mention what she noticed a while back about the wands. "I looked at the wands we collected from our foes and they look somewhat similar to my own wand. It is expensive to determine exactly what a magic item can do. Does anyone have any ideas on how to find out what wands that we may have?"
Kanchana takes a look at her half finished work, "I think that it might be an idea that anyone among us who can use a wand of healing should have one, just in case. I gave Gecktar one of the wands that Gargul gave us. The lesser wands are expensive, but still accessible for us I suppose..." She pauses as she continues to sew. "What do you think? I mean I still think that we should have designated primary Healers, but it cannot do any harm to have others do what they can either."
Kanchana finishes her stitching and carefully puts her clothing back on under her cloak.
Unless prompted Kanchana will not speak more of this matter until everyone has thought it over. She will go to bed early if given the chance.

************************************************

In the morning Kanchana will eat a light breakfast. She stares at the priest in surprise as he mentions the two Taurs that she also dreamed of. "Bad omen?? Do you have any clue as to what that dream may mean Honored One?" Kanchana shivers as she thinks back to her dream.
Before leaving the table Kanchana will pack herself a bag lunch just in case.

************************************************

When everyone leaves the temple (heading for the docks maybe?) Kanchana puts on her cloak, but doesn't pull up the hood. Her uneasiness returns and she seems quite jittery. She doen't bother really looking around at people and things much. Kanchana is bothered that people are avoiding the Chosen like a plague.
Kanchana just follows the others to where they are going, until... She stops dead in her tracks as she thinks she sees the Wemic from her dream. Kanchana just stands there staring at him, even after he had looked up from whatever he was doing. She takes a deep breath and begins to cast about for the Dark One that she saw in the dream too. Kanchana feels fear whelming up in her and her vision starts to blur. She hurries to catch up with the others, while trying to keep an eye on the Wemic that she thinks she may have seen before.

((OOC: Greetings Tunc! Welcome to the Chosen of Domi. I hope that you have a great time here.))

Taric
Sunday December 14th, 2003 1:07:34 AM

Taric is silent. The meeting with Imod and Gargul has left his mind spinning. He now spends every minute he has trying to contemplate what exactly happened in the past hours.

Although he is confused about a lot of things, one decision has entered his mind firmly now. He will use the more destructive forces of The Art if that would further the goals of Imod. He would need to get a hold of some scrolls or maybe even a wand. But he knows for sure he will do it, if only to prevent the loss of one of the Chosen.

Deep in thought he doesn't notice anything in his surroundings, just following the other Chosen. Until, as if by an invisible force, his head is lifted upwards and Taric looks at the oh so familiar Taur from the dream. Taric blinks a few times, but the Taur is still there. Shaking his head to clear his thoughts, Taric looks at the Taur, but makes sure he is not staring him down. He stands at ease, waiting for the Taur to introduce himself.

Then Taric remembers the bad omen the pirest talked about. Taric looks around nervously, his invisibility spell on the tip of his tongue, ready to disappear from view so he could better do his job.

Vasch
Sunday December 14th, 2003 11:31:21 AM

Vasch as with many of the others seems to be reflecting on different things. Vasch's mind drifts occasionally back to the pridelands, but he finds that the memories he had but a moment ago have faded from his mind a faint reminder of the afterlife. Soon it is all nothing more than a feeling he can't quite put his finger on.

Vasch sees Kanchana looking at her symbol. He approaches her slowly as not to disturb her thought. Moving to face her he says softly, "May I?" He says reaching for her symbol. He begins to clean if she lets him. "It wasn't your fault...or that of any of the others." He pauses to take her hand. "I'll have to be more careful. I can remember nothing of the pridelands..." He lifts her chin, "I know this...there was a feeling of peace. A peace I'd like to bring here to not only our people, but all of Tomi's children."

He finishes cleaning her symbol, if she had let him, and returns it. He smiles at her, "There are enough frowns in this world. Smile, and let us be an example to all." He turns and leaves.

Flat-top
Sunday December 14th, 2003 2:47:41 PM

Flat-top advances apon the two weimic, He puts an arm apon each of their shoulders, "I hate to break up this lovely moment, I know Brother Taur, Kanchana is very beautiful and let me tell you a very good dancer. But if you look over there near those tables, there is a very familure figure of a liontaur. Does he not look familure to you? The one in a dream?? Let's us go over to him and introduce ourselves, and see if he's the Chosen of Domi!"
Flat-top trots over to the Taur, "Hello! my name is Flat-top,(flat-top extends his hand) I beleive we have something in common?? But first we should go to see about a ship. Want to come along?"

Toros
Sunday December 14th, 2003 5:29:42 PM

Toros replies Flat-Top with a nice smile in his face. (also extending his hand) "Hello, I am Toros. Nice to meet you." He also greets Kanchana, Taric, Vasch and the others one by one, as they approach. "Going to see a ship sounds nice, I will be happy to join you"

When they start walking together initially, he kindly tells about himself, replying any questions and shows a sincere interest to learn more about the group in general.

Kenisha  d20+4=18 d20+2=9
Sunday December 14th, 2003 11:40:11 PM

Kenisha is nervous and skittish as the group leaves the temple. She keeps Domisha close to her and motions Vrurt to stay close as well.

Her heart practically leaps into her throat as she sees the wemic from her dream; knowing that the dark Taur is very close now. She leans close to Vrurt and whispers, "We may run into trouble, if we do, take the children and get them under cover. But don't go too far, we have to know where you are in order to defend you."

She then moves in closer to the others, smiling at the wemic.

Brahmah
Sunday December 14th, 2003 11:40:47 PM

OOC: Welcome Tunc!

Brahmah tells Vasch, "It's good that your back."

Turning to Kanchana, "Warden, don't be sad, you've met the Gods. That is a reason to be happy."

When they cross Toros, Brahmah just approaches, saying nothing at first.
He stands, with arms crossed, looking around alert for the Dark taur o the Dream.
Finally, he speaks. "I'm Brahmah, Captain of the Chosen. Have you been followed or attacked here, or on your way here?" He steps towards the taur and just looks at him, with no emotion.
"You freely would join a group you don't know, Toros?"

Toros
Monday December 15th, 2003 2:18:09 AM

While he takes Flat-Tops`s welcome so naturally, Brahmah`s alertness and seriousness suprises Toros.

"If I am invited, why not!! And I don`t think I have a better thing to do at the moment."

"Anyway nice to see meet you Captain and all. Actually, you all look familiar to me but I do not know how. Usually, just the opposite happens," a big smile appears in Toros`s face, "I am found to be very familiar by the people I meet". He becomes to feel happy for realizing this, without imagining how this expression could be understood by these for the first-time-met people.

"And you said `attack` or `being followed`, no, no such thing has happened", Toros tries to provide a satisfactory reply to Brahmah, as a show of his respect, but it is absolute that this does not make so much sense for him.

Brahmah
Monday December 15th, 2003 3:56:39 AM

The sereal nature of the last few days has taken a toll on Brahmah, but this isn't physically obvious, until he snaps out the round of questioning to Toros.
The Captain has had several life altering events happen to close to each other that he is unable, presently, to oganize them.
Knowing now that the Two value life even more than himself, hits Brahmah like a mast driven by gale winds. The lives of the Chosen are far more valuable than the gold he carries, the falchion his father gave him and even the clothes on his back. He would lay down his life for even the lowest of taurs, be them begger or brigand.

"I'm sorry for the inquiries Toros, you are quite welcome among the Chosen. We must be cautious, more now than ever before."
Brahmah smiles, that very familiar childlike smile.
"O'course your welcome and familiar to me as well."
He roars with laughter and embraces Toros with a huge hug. "Come. We are off! Ever eaten ship food? How are you sea legs?" He wraps a massively muscular arm around Toros shoulder and walks.

Toros
Monday December 15th, 2003 4:35:36 AM

Toros returns the hug and roar as well, "ha, ha, I like all kind of food, but who is the cook, you? Flat-top? Or any of you.., ah please give me some time to learn all of your names, and forgive me, if I make any mistakes at the beginning. It is hard to memorize them all at once, let me recall Captain, Brahmah; Flat-Top and ..."

Leets
Monday December 15th, 2003 6:48:41 AM

Leets feels as if many things changed inside of him since he met Domi once more...
He now knows what task he has to among - and with the Chosen...

When walking the streets of Castle Violet, he mostly looks around the group for any appearance of the Dark Taur...Although he politely nods at Toros, he trust Brahmah to welcome him among the group.

"Flat-Top, do you remember from where he arrived...I mean, the dark one?"

Even if his weapons are not in hand, Leets stands ready to face a sudden danger...

Monday December 15th, 2003 8:11:02 AM

"Yes! Leets, I remember in my dream of Toros sitting at a table, not talking just staring a head of him. A strange feeling came oner me, I turn around and there he was. The dark figure was in back of me??. So I think we better watch our backs." He is telling Leet as he listens and serches the taurs around them.

OOC: Listens 14 and serches 5 (Flat-top is going blind)

Vasch  d20+9=19 d20+5=10
Monday December 15th, 2003 8:51:56 AM

Vasch turns from Kanchana and grabs Flat-top by the shoulders, "A ship, let us find one and go to this sanctuary. I am eager to see it."

"I'm glad to be back." Vasch responds to Brahmah placing a hand on the Captain's shoulder.

Vasch makes it a point to go see Domisha and Kenisha. "Glad to see you and Domisha are safe." He looks down to the young taur and smiles. "Have you been good for your mother?" He looks up and smiles to Kenisha then turns away.

"Toros...hmmm..." Vasch eyes up the new-commer. "I'm unfamiliar with you, but if the others welcome you then, welcome."

"Let's find a ship, then I'd like a drink and a large hunk of mutton. One would think that I'd not have much of an appetit, but I'm starving." He follows the others.

Gecktar
Monday December 15th, 2003 4:20:42 PM

Gecktar warmly welcome Vasch. "Even if I don't know you well, your return lighten my heart..."

He then follow the group outdoor. Before leaving he takes the wand that Kanchana gives him, and gives his own wand to Brahmah. "This is a wand that will cure light wounds. It's brand new and it maybe of some use in the middle of fight or even after. May you haven't to use it Brahmah."

Now outdoor his sense are alert as the priest tell them of dark omen. When they encounter the taur they all see in their dream he greet him : "Welcome among us, know that coming with the chosen of Domi isn't an easy task... I can testify of it even if I'am the younger of all chosen... except you know..." and he concludes with a warm smile.

(OOC1 : this is a wand of cure light wound with 50 charges... never used !)
(OOC2 : I had in mind to sacrifice my hammer for gaining access to the gods... Do we loose items we want to give up ?)

Toros
Monday December 15th, 2003 5:11:21 PM

Toros tries to catch up with what all the others talking about. But only thing he could get for himself was `there is another Taur they are expecting, a dark one, which makes everyone alert`. He also tries to ready himself as much as possible to an unxpected encounter, making all his senses wide open.

The docks. (DM Jim)
Monday December 15th, 2003 5:51:57 PM

Walking and talking to the newest member of the group, you start to get to know him better. Surprisingly it is an easy time of feeling easy around Toros and you know that Domi had something to do with that.

You have just entered the center of a four way intersection in one of the streets and you can see the docks ahead. Suddenly all the noises around you suddenly stop and when you look around the people have taken to the surrounding buildings. The heavy wooden tables have been left emptied with food still on them and chairs are laying on the ground. Straight ahead of you steps out a person, that you notice as the cleric from the Mailed Fist. "Well if it isn't The Chosen...heretics wanted by the church." He spits on the ground and smiles a feral grin. "Do not worry...I will take your bodies in to the church and the children will be tested to prove thier falsity to all the races." With a last glance to you he whistles and a group of minotaurs step out of their hiding places. "Bounty Hunter you will get your bounty from the church...I just need the bodies."

Two large minotaurs have stepped out to stand beside the cleric grinning as they do. You also see another pair of minotaurs standing behind you thier weapons ready for battle. Another two step out from the way to the right of you and they seem pretty content with the arrangments. The leader near the cleric nods to the cleric and then twirls his finger in the air. "Cut them all down but the children...then we get paid well for an easy job."

Past the cleric and the two minotaurs ahead of you standing near the docks is a minotaur dressed all in black with a green slime pattern to his armor. He is leaning on a large sword that he has his shield hanging on. The shield depicts a hammer smashed by a green filled vial. He makes no move to help or hinder the fight in any way, he just seems to be there to watch. Standing beside him is a male liontaur with the loveliest snow leopard pattern to his fur, that is a striking match to his all black clothing. He points in The Chosen's direction and seems to be talking to the large male minotaur, who only nods.

Flat-top
Monday December 15th, 2003 6:30:34 PM

Flat-tops Blood runs cold, he was afraid this would happen, "Well, Why am I not suprise. The Mailed Fist. Do you see This Cleric of the Coward of the land, he left his men to die while he made his exit. Captain do we do the Circle of Life?". Flat-top whispers to Kenisha "Get the children down low, Mothers and Magic users in the middle, then listen to Brahmah's orders."

Kanchana  d20+5=11 d20+3=18 d20+4=24 d20+4=10
Monday December 15th, 2003 6:34:12 PM

Kanchana will let Vasch try and clean her blood from her shield of Domi before sewing it back onto her bodice. She nods as she listens to Vasch's words. "Let us hope that we have a chance to bring peace to Father Tomi's prides." Kanchana blushes at Flat'top's words and looks flattered.

************************************************

Kanchana hurries to catch up with the others after her initial shock of seeing Toros. She will walk towards the docks and not say anything amidst the others talking. Kanchana takes it for granted that someone will introduce her. She keeps an eye on Toros; it's curiousity - not suspicion. She will also keep an eye out for any black dressed Taurs.

Kanchana slows her pace as it grows eerily quiet and things seem to move slower - like in her dream... She looks around and sees that they are in a four way intersection. Kanchana suddenly remembers the tactic the Chosen first used when fighting the Wolfmaster (see below). "Everyone form a circle! Children, mothers and arcane spellcasters to the center fighters form a ring!" Kanchana calls out just loud enough for the other Chosen to hear (she hopes).
She casts about and sees that they are mostly surrounded... it seems to her that a tight defensive circle is their only chance until an opening is created. Everyone should be within touching distance of eachother (more or less). Kanchana whispers a prayer to Mother Wold and Father Tomi that they may keep the children safe...
Kanchana fails to notice any symbols, or the black clad Taur. She doesn't even recognize the cleric of the Mailed Fist.

(Spot 11, (Intelligence 18, Wisdom 24: to remember the tactic used against the Wolfmaster when she first joined the Chosen), Wisdom 10 failed to recognize the merc cleric)

Kanchana - addendum
Monday December 15th, 2003 6:35:09 PM

Kanchana starts to cast Mage Armor on herself as she moves into position.

Kenisha
Monday December 15th, 2003 11:32:52 PM

Kenisha nods to Vrurt, "Keep the children in the center with me. Toros, it seems yours travels with us is already at a crossroads. I beg of you to stand fast with us. The lives of The Children of Domi depend on us."

If Kenisha has to move to take her place in the circle, she'll just cast Bull's Strength and touch Brahmah to deliver the spell to him.

If she doesn't have to use her move action to take her place, then she'll also pull out her Potion of Eagle's Splendor so she can drink it next round.

Brahmah, Bull's Strength(Kenisha)  d20+5=16
Tuesday December 16th, 2003 12:59:42 AM

When Gecktar offers Brahmah the wand, "Thanks you, I'll keep it close."
**************************************************

As he walks with the Chosen, Brahmah is very wary and uncomfortable with the people in the area, something is familiar, somehow. Maybe just a past memory??
The he notices the people scatter and then.... the cleric and misguided taurs. 'Figures!' he thinks to himself.

"Circle of Life Chosen! You all know your jobs. Gecktar, Toros, do what it takes to stay alive, but stay near the circle!"
He then says, almost inaudibly, "Be merciless, for you will recieve NONE!"

He looks to Pah'caw, "Go!"
As Brahmah watches his friend fly off, he looks to the roofs for archers. (Spot 16)

Then he sees the Dark Figure. No emotion or surpise crosses the Captains face.

He turns to Taric and gives him a simple but clear nod, then whispers, "We ALL could use your QUICK spell mage." Then winks at the illusionist.

With a gestured wave and ancient Woldian word, Brahmah's forearm glows green. His tattoo activates. (Hoping to catch at least two minotaurs or the clerics in the Entangle, 1 minute(not even really sure of the tattoo duration), DC 11 save for partial, 40ft radius spread.)
OOC:This only happens if there are significant plants around.

OOC: Remember to let us all know how long your spells last.

Toros
Tuesday December 16th, 2003 1:42:47 AM

NPC: I rolled a d20, 17, then start writing my turn. However, I felt the need to check something written before and double-click for this, then I lost the whole post. I am writing again according to the original post of mine.

"Ha haaa, my dear friends, you have talked about a lunch on the waterside, but how nice of you to welcome me with a feast like that!! Look at these food on the table. These taurs and cleric should be the entertainers. This is indeed a special feast for chosen. But where has the audience gone? Anyway, I should contribute to the meaning and importance of today with a song of my own. I hope you will like it. This minotaur dressed all in black and his fury companion standing near the docks will be my inspiration, I suppose. You may also recognize these figures very well."

Spot 17+4 = 23

Saying this, Toros starts singing a song for his new friends to inspire courage +1. The effect should last 5 rounds after he stops singing. This is a song that he has song many times but this time he makes some suitable additions like, "ho ho, I saw a black taur on the dock, with this song he`ll run away like a little duck..."

While singing he fits to the nearest place in the gathering circle of people and then, if he still has time, draws his halbert and ready it for any charge from the enemy. So his place in the circle should be facing at least some taurs.

Leets
Tuesday December 16th, 2003 4:02:44 AM

There is no surprise for the Centaur paladin. He gets a look behind him at the two minotaurs arriving...He then let his heavy glance fall on the cleric who has spoken, and unties his morningstar...

"Bounty hunters this time...And less than last time we met..."

"Oh...Did you say your new friends that much of them DIED!?!?"

"CHOSEN! Let them know the true word of Domi! The Holy Father stands by our side!"

"FOR THE GLORY OF DOMI AND HOPE FOR THE TAUR PEOPLE! NO MERCY FOR THOSE IN OUR WAY!"

Holding high his morningstar, Leets cast BLESS on the party (+1 to attack & moral...Should be active for the whole battle I think...).

Doing so, Leets joined the circle to face the backward Minotaurs (and will grab one of his javelin with his free hand since he has no shield anymore...).

Taric
Tuesday December 16th, 2003 4:31:49 AM

Seeing unrolling for his very eyes what he so much dreaded, Taric decides not to go invisible this time, but instead use Brahmah's suggestion. He casts a spell to quicken the movement of five of the Chosen, hoping he chooses the right ones. The feeling of adrenaline rushing through his body makes him feel uneasy, even after all those battles he has been through. He knows he has to ignore it though for the better of the Chosen.

OOC:
casting haste haste on: Brahmah, Leets, Flat-Top, Gecktar and Vasch. Effects will last for 5 rounds.

Paw'caw(ceil)
Tuesday December 16th, 2003 7:50:21 AM

Managram(ceil)
Tuesday December 16th, 2003 7:56:55 AM

Managram walk along with Leets, with his toung hanging out of his mouth, This dog is in a very happy mood, after all he has finish his bone.
Untill the mood changes, he sences danger. He strats to growl "Grrr!" and jumps ahead of the pack. "Bark! Bark! Grrr!".

Vasch [bless, haste] Initiative 18  d20+3=18 d20+6=15 d20+6=19 d20+6=24 2d6(6+3)+2=11 2d6(5+6)+2=13 2d6(2+2)+2=6 d20+9=21
Tuesday December 16th, 2003 9:42:01 AM

"I just got back!" Vasch says. "And I will not fall to thugs!" Vasch lifts his bow towards a mercinary in front of him. Hearing Brahmah's words, 'Be merciless, for you will receive NONE!', a darkness fills Vasch as he releases his first, second and then third arrow at the hired killers. After his shots leave he will shift his position closer to the group [5 ft.].

OOC: This gets a little messy here.

Gecktar
Tuesday December 16th, 2003 4:32:13 PM

His first felling is that being a Chosen of Domi isn't a quiet job...
He never heard of the Circle of Life but understand immediatly what Brahmah said. He join the circle taking his dagger as it is his sole weapon. He then cast Divine Favor on himself and take place in the circle ready to fight

AC : 21
HP : 40/40
(Bless, Haste 5rd, Divine Favor 1 min, Courage)
