Bounty Hunters. (DM Jim) d20+12=22 d20+8=27 d20+4=13 d8+4=6 d8+4=7 d8+4=7 Tuesday December 16th, 2003 4:48:02 PM
The group forms into a circle with the caster types in the middle as they watch the minotaurs form up for thier own attacks. Several spells are cast on both sides as they prepare for the coming battle. Vasch takes the opportunity to fire off the first series of attacks in this battle. His first arrow flies on past it's intended target but the other two find themselves inbedded in the minotaur2's hide. Brahmah looking around drops his idea of an entangle spell as their is not enough plant life of that type to be effective.
Toros and Vasch both spot an the top of a bow on the far roof. Soon it is a view of a liontaur that is sighting an arrow at the group.
The liontaur archer fires off three arrows at Leets (hit: 22/27/13, damage: 6/7/7).
The Mailed Fist Cleric casts a spell as the minotuars start a slow move towards the circled group.
[Go here for the battle map: http://jade_dragon_1974.tripod.com/]
Toros 4d20(2+16+20+7)+7=52 d20=14 d20=19 d20=5 d20=16 d20=1 d20=12 d20=2 d20=10 Tuesday December 16th, 2003 7:33:51 PM
The visible acts of minotaurs were straightforward like watching a play; but when Toros saw the liontaur on the roof, he felt a sense of hidden real danger and adrenaline burst into his body. making him entering a state of uncontrollable rage. He wanted to reply the arrows that hit Leets with his javelins.
OOC: Jim, I went to the website but could not see the battle map. As I spotted them can I use attacks of opportunity against the liontaur archer and the cleric after their actions for the previous round? If I can and if they are in range, I will throw javelin to each of them. If I can only for one, I would choose the archer.
Then, the approaching minotaurs attracted his attention. Still singing his song and making fun with the enemy, he continued throwing his javelins to the approaching taurs, hoping that this will make one of them angry enough and try a charge to taste his halbert.
OOC: I really do not know how many javelins I can throw but I will roll for four, and at the end Toros will find the chance to both make use of any possible attacks of opportunity and ready his halbert for any possible charge. Good luck in the fight!!
IC: Realizing that the vegetation in the area isn't great, he decides (last round, instead of the entangle) to pick up some nice (mw)arrows from the loot and good longbow. (is the longbow large? or a strength bow?)
This round he'll use the bow, not being too familiar with them, he does his best. He fires hastely at the cleric(MFC) casting the spell. (If the cleric is human, +2 damage to each attack, favored enemy +2) (Hitting AC's 26(haste attack), 24 and 17 for 6(8), 10(2) and 5(7)... The +1 is the Inspire Courage, if it is a stength bow Brahmah picked, add in that damage.(24 strength +7))
Leets d20+5=23 d20+5=22 d8+2=6 d8+2=8 Wednesday December 17th, 2003 1:22:48 AM
Leets feels the three arrows entering his very flesh, and knows they will want to kill him first, and probably Gecktar just after once they realize who he is, and all the others after. He tightens his jaws, and tries to ignore the three arrows although the wounds are already painful....
"Chosen! Follow Captain Brahmah's orders! FIRST WAVE! For the glory of Domi"
With those words, Leets throws his own javelin at the wemic on the roof, and another one just after thanks to the HASTE spell.
First javelin 23 to hit, damage 6. Second javelin 22 to hit, damage 8.
OOC: Tunc, to fire your javelins, you hae to find your Ranged Weapon attack on your CS. Then roll D20 + your bonus. Then, you can roll your damage, which should be D8 + your Strength bonus. (Dear DM Jim, javelins for large creature are D8, not D6, no?). You'll also find the map at:
Taric d4=3 d4=3 d4=1 Wednesday December 17th, 2003 2:36:15 AM
Realizing that the enemy wants to keep them immobile, trapping them on the crossroads, Taric decides to open up one of the streets, in case they need it. He casts and a colorful set of lights springs forth, just behind the two minotaurs in the right street.
OOC: casting hypnotic pattern behind M5 and M6. 11 total HD affected (rolled 1 d4 too much). Will save DC 17 to negate.
Gecktar 2d8(7+5)+4=16 d20+3=9 Wednesday December 17th, 2003 4:58:14 AM
"We must move captain. If we stay here we will face our doom. Kepping the formation but moving and circling until we reach them. We must fight because we are too exposed" Saying that Gecktar summons an ally in the form of a Celestian Riding dog just in front of the cleric.
As soon as it appears the dog will attack the cleric : Attack AC 9 (OOC : sure I'm cursed for attack rolls !)
Gecktar now takes his mighty long bow in hand readying it for the next round.

Paw'caw does not like that Taur in bkack, She folds her wings, diving towards the Cleric that's backing behind the two minotaurs. With in ten feet of her target, she opens her wings to slow just enought to do the up most damages. She uses her talons and trys to bite the nose as she whizzes by. Then with the momentum glide and flap her wing for the trip to the safty of the skies.

Kanchana casts Magic Missile, and is aiming for the wemic archer on the roof. If the group starts to move towards the opening created by Taric Kanchana will follow, and help keep an eye on the children.

Toros and Leets both send a series of javelins at the wemic on the roof. Thier javelins thud into the wall of the building about half way up, but never reach the wemic.
Brahmah fires off a volley of three arrows at the Mailed Fist cleric with his new bow. Two of his arrows find spots through the cleric's armor but the third races right on by. Brahmah then calls for a steady move in the cleric's direction.
Taric call up a hypnotic wave of lights to affect the minotaurs to thier side so that they have an escape route.
Gecktar calls upon the powers of his faith to being to him a celestail dog to fight for them. As it appears he gives it orders to attack the cleric.
Kenisha downs her potion and then casts mage armor on herself. She feels that she is now ready for the rest of the battle.
Flat-top steps out of the circle to slam his morningstar into the minotaur. He gets a pair of good hits in that make the minotaur grunt under the impact. He then slowly makes his way back to the circle to take his place.
Pah'caw swoops down at the Mailed Fist cleric but the cleric is able to step out of the way as he sees the eagle in the air coming at him.
Managarm growls as the arrows slam into his master's body. He blinks out to appear near the wemic and bites into him from behind. He then blinks back to his master's side, looking rather happy at himself.
Vasch growls saying that he will take out the archer wemic. He sends three arrows flying at the archer and is surprised that all three embed themselves into his flesh.
Kanchana fires off a magic missile at the wemic on the roof, knowing that it will not miss.
The celestial dog charges forward, snappin at the Mailed Fist cleric and only finding air.
The Mailed Fist Cleric casts a spell upon the two minotaurs that are in front of him. Then he pulls out his morningstar and shield.
The wemic grimaces under the sudden attacks placed upon him. He roars in pain and then notches another arrow. He then lets another two follow after the first (hit: 26/11/12, damage: 11/10/12) directed at Kanchana.
Minotaur1&2 feel the effects of the spell as it settles over them. Moving forward the slam into the front of the group. Minotaur1 brings his great axe chopping in at Brahmah (hit: 30/19, damage: 22/16). Minotaur2 brings his greatsword slicing in at Brahmah as well (hit: 31/15, damage: 20/12). The both seem to have gotten information that Brahmah is the leader and maybe without him The Chosen will be defenseless.
Minotaur3&4 find themselves staring off into space at the lights.
Minotaur5&6 advance on the rear of the group with a purpose. Minotaur5 brings his great axe slashing at Gecktar (hit: 24/29, damage: 21/14). Minotaur6 makes his way towards Leets, his greatsword griped in both hands. He brings his sword in an over-handed chop at him (hit: 29/15, damage: 14/14).
[Please give me a couple to get a new map set up for you. I want to make things easier to read.]
[Remember to improve damage for larger creatures. I am sure that would make the normal 1d6 javelin a 1d8.]

Brahmah errata Wednesday December 17th, 2003 8:08:44 PM
OOC: The second attack actually hit AC 19, not 24. I forgot to adjust for the second attack.
Brahmah, a 'Doh!' moment Wednesday December 17th, 2003 8:37:49 PM
Nevermind about the second attack adjustment. I failed to remember that Brahmah made a move and only had the standard attack and hasted attack... ANYWAYS! I actually DID hit AC 24. :D Cheers.
Kanchana 3d8(7+2+3)+3=15 d20+11=14 Thursday December 18th, 2003 2:00:29 AM
Kanchana grunts with pain as she feels an arrow embed itself deeply into her. However she is forced to wait with removing the offending arrow until she knows that Brahmah will be faring better. As she steps over behind Brahmah she draws her CSW wand (1 of the 2 from Gargul; Gecktar has the other one)and taps Brahmah on the back with it. If there is time then Kanchana will put the wand away and begin to work the arrow out. She knows that she is a target for that darned archer. She knows that it won't take too many more such shots to finish her off...
(Heals Brahmah 15 pts)(Heal check 14: to remove arrow)
((OOC: Everyone please, please state your regular HP and your wounded HP (like so: rHP/wHP), this way Gecktar and I will know that you need healing. Otherwise I; at aleast, do NOT know your HP and AC, and will not be trying to guess your PCs health status! So I appreciate the courtesy and the help! Thank you.)) :)
Toros d20=17 d20=17 d20=6 Thursday December 18th, 2003 3:45:52 AM
OOC: Thank you Leets for the information. Jim, with rage, could you please tell me what my HP becomes. And, other than 28th I think I can post whenever the game is on.
Having missed his target with his attack and not attracted any attack from the bounty hunters Toros watches the whole encounter for a while. While all the fight continues he waits for catching a line of sight with the cleric, readying himself to make a melee attack to him by charge and start a grapple with him. He hopes that this will at least immobilize the enemy's spell caster. When the right time comes he increases his speed, passed the distances and charges against the cleric.
As he manages not to provoke an attack of opportunity Toros strongly grabs the cleric.
17 + 5 + 1(bless) +1 (courage) +2 (rage) + 4 (size) + 4 (improved grapple) + 2 (charge -- if I can use it) + 1 (totem) = 37
If he succeeds with his attack he will attempt to start a grappling with him.
If he also wins the opposing grapple check Toros will hold his target tight until the cleric will be pinned, leaving his opponent at his mercy, immobile with a --4 AC and unable to speak.
To maintain the grapple for future rounds Toros will enter his opponent's space.
If he cannot attack to the cleric for any reason he will choose M2 for doing the same.
He still continues to sing, and does not ignore to have a look around, especially to the black taur and his companion at the dock (SPOT d20 6) in order to catch any change in the circumstances.
Taric Thursday December 18th, 2003 4:34:36 AM
Satisfied for now that he caught two of the minotaurs in his spell, Taric decides to draw his light crossbow, while remaining concentrating on the colorful lights to keep the two minotaurs at bay.

Kenisha softly curses under her breath the fact that they are in the middle of the town; she dare not use her powerful Lightning Bolt spell for fear of harming innocents. She looks up at the archer and a smile grows on her face. "No innocents up there...."
"Can you hold your own against these two, Brahmah for the moment? We really do need to take that archer down up on the roof." Kenisha asks their leader as she gathers her mystical energies around her. The air crackles as she finishes her spell and her Lightning Bolt flies up at the wemic archer on the roof. Leets says something unpolite as his javelins miss the archer. And then realizes he will have to face a Minotaur...who strikes real hard!
Leets almost falls on his knees as the Minotaur's great sword deeply bites the paladin's shoulder, two times and deeper every time.
"Kanchana!!! Gecktar!!!This one is REAL tough!"
With rage, Leets strikes his opponent, focusing all the fury he's able of on the Minotaur in front of him...He first tries to crush his stomach with his morningstar (23 to hit, 14 damage), then hits anything that belongs to the Minotaur in front of him with all the weight of the morningstar (20 to hit, 8 damage).
A lot of blood flows from Leets shoulder, dripping along his useless arm on the ground. Barely standing on his legs, the Centaur paladin tries to follow the circle as it moves, in the direction of the Cleric.
Gecktar 3d8(3+5+8)+15=31 2d8(6+8)+3=17 d20+8=26 3d8(2+3+3)+15=23 d20+3=22 d6+3=6 Thursday December 18th, 2003 3:19:34 PM
Gecktar get almost cut in half by the two mighty blows of his foe. His chest and abdomen covered with blood and his chain mail almost ruined. His vision becomes blured and he has some problems staying on his feet.
The only thing that must be done is healing. With another blow he can see that he or Leets will fall like Vasch had just few days ago. He then takes the wand that Kanchana give him and apply it one time on Leets (Heals 31hp). As he is hasted he can use is second action to cast a spell trying to completly heal Leets (Casting cure moderate wounds defensively) Concentration 26 (to match 17) and healing another 17hp !
Now he is ready to face Domi one more time. He has done what he could and should. Maybe with a last prayer to try to convince Gargul to let him continue his duty for Domi.
'Lords may your glory flood on this fight, may your justice and goodnes triumph against the darkness'.
Now having found one more time courage in prayer to his deity he is ready to face his fate.

Brahmah rips into the minotuar with some amount of fury. His attacks are well placed and carry much weight behind them.
Kanchana steps in close to Brahmah and heals him with her wand. She then begins to tend to her wounded rump.
Toros is able to move in on the cleric and grabs him tightly. He smiles with some satisfaction as he immobilizes him.
Taric readies his crossbow as he continues to mantain his spell.
Kenisha looks around and then realizes that no innocents can be hurt if she sends her lightning at the roof. So she lets fly a bolt of electricity at the wemic on the roof.
Flat-top slams his morningstar into the minotaur that just attacked him. He then rears up on his rear hooves and brings his front one crashing into the minotaur for good measure.
Pah'caw comes diving back in at the cleric hoping to give him some pain this time but he is beat to the punch by Toros. She takes back to the air crying in anger.
Managarm once again blinks to the roof and bites the wemic in the hindquarters. He then returns to the ground by his master.
Vasch tumbles and comes to his feet, drawing his spear as he does. He stabs the minotaur that is attacking Brahmah in the back.
Leets slams his morningstar into the minotaur that just attacked him. He cannot help but shudder as he bleeds out his shoulder.
Gecktar is able to heal himself and Leets of some of the damage that they have endured.
The Mailed Fist Cleric finds himself grapples by a large liontaur. He drops his shield and morningstar as he is hit.
The wemic finds himself shocked by the sudden arrival of a bolt of lightning, besides the fact that he is soon bitten in the bad region. Getting back his bearings he pulls up another arrow and fires another volley at the group(hit: 26/28/23, damage: 12/10/10) directed at Kanchana, Taric and Kenisha.
Minotaur1 turns back as he hears the cleric grunt and he sees Toros go by. Moving to the two grappling foes he pulls back and tries to punch Toros (hit: 15/22, damage: 11/10).
Minotaur2 continues his vicious assault on Brahmah (hit: 25/21, damage: 14/18).
Minotaur3&4 find themselves staring off into space at the lights.
Minotaur5 smiles in Gecktar's face as he goes about his healing. He only tries to hit him once with his axe this time (hit: 17, damage: 16).
Minotaur6 wipes the blood from his sword as he glances to Leets. The minotaur winks at him as he brings his sword swiping in (hit: 15, damage: 24).
[The cleric is human.]
[Toro's hit points will increase by 2 for each level of barbarian.]
[Gilles, I am not sure but I let you have the two healings this round. Don't have my books handy to look it up. You will also need to remember that morale bonuses do not stack and you have been using both of them. It was brought to my attention about this, the bonuses from bless and inspire will not stack.]
Kanchana (Mage Armor, AC 20, HP 34/11) d20+11=24 d8+3=11 Thursday December 18th, 2003 6:43:29 PM
Kanchana no sooner removes one arrow before getting slammed with another. Kanchana is looking frightfully bad, but better than Leets is (appearantly; unless he received some healing?). Kanchana; feeling rather overwhelmed, does a 180 towards Leets as she tries to remove the last arrow. "Gecktar! Help Leets!!" Kanchana feels a hard knot of despair in her stomach as she realizes that one more shot from that damned archer might just kill her... If she has the time and the chance she will draw her CLW wand and heal herself, hoping that Gecktar will help Leets; since he is closer...
(Heal 24: to remove the arrow) (If it is possible this turn... heal self 11 pts of dmg)
((Note I: Leets, due to Gecktar's unusually confusing post I do not know if you have been healed or not. I hope that he can get to you this round, as I am on the opposite side of the circle from you. That is right behind Brahmah.))
((Note II: Brahmah, too many darn numbers for me! Just take and add an extra 12 points to the healing I gave you last time. That should make it +15 instead of +3...))
Toros d20=9 d20=4 d20=20 d8=7 Thursday December 18th, 2003 7:51:05 PM
Toros will move back to the circle of his friends, dragging the pinned cleric with him.
d20 +18 (as in previous post) +4 (I think he also gains this, as he has pinned the opponent?) 31.
He feels the pain from the punch of taur but for now he can bear to that without so much trouble and keeps his song.
<<does the first punch of taur a natural miss? (15 = 14 + D20, which makes D20 a big 1.) Does Toros lose his dexterty bonus to AC because of the grappling or maintains at least some of it because of his uncanny dodge? If any of these is yes then his current HP is 45/35, if not 45/24.>>
In his move, he will use the space that the taur attacking him has left and retreat back to somewhere behind Brahmah and Flattop. He hopes that in this way the taur will stop coming after him.
He will also try to find out in a closer look what the cleric possesses, as much as he can during his move with the cleric. (d20 for this action is 4)

Brahmah apparently has a flanking partner now, Vasch. The Captain unleashes his standard flurish of blades, as is growing common for him.
He attacks... starting with Minotaur 1, then onto Minotaur 2 after Brahmah drops #1. The intent is #1, #2 and cleric if he gets in the way.

Taric (AC 16, 28/38 hp) d20+11=20 Friday December 19th, 2003 1:14:45 AM
Taric loads his crossbow while (barely) maintaining the concentration needed for his colorful lights to keep the two minotaurs busy. He looks around frantically, noticing that both Leets and Gecktar are in dire conditions. Taric realizes though that if he stops his spell, they are in even worse conditions then they would be right now.

Starting with #3, he attack with his Morning Star. (Attach 26ac & 24Ac - Damages 15hp & 14 hp) that should open a few wounds. then readies himself for another round.

Once again she sends a Lignting Bolt up to the archer on the roof (26 hit pots; DC 19 on Reflex save for half)

With an inspired side step Gecktar is able to dodge the great axe of Minotaur #5 taking his shield and his dagger in the same move. "Here ! We need some support here !" does he says and then facing the Minotaur #5 "You will face the wrath of Domi ! Poor fools don't you see that you will never touch one gold piece for us and you will damn you own race !" With a slight touch of his hand to Leets he address another prayer to Domi to heal Leets who is their best chance to survive the fight versus these two powerful fighters (succesfull concentration check 26) casting cure serious wounds for another 11 hp for Leets.
The Celestian riding dog will attack minotaur #2 hitting AC23 (critical confirm AC22) for 9hp (13 critical) damage.

As Leets feels the healing wave running throw his body, he grins at Minotaur 6. His wound is closing completely, and no blood flows anymore...
"Now you'll pay!!!"
More than ever eager to takie his revenge, Leets stands high on his back hooves. He strikes first with his moningstar, as heavlily as he can (20 to hit, 11 damage), then with his hooves (17 to hit, 6 damage). Then trying to defend himself as well as he can, he tries to see how Gecktar is...
"Hey! Fellow are you ok ?!? Try to remain alive, you're more useful alive than dead! And I need you there!!! Go on, crush that Minotaur, he's standing on Domi's way!"
Receiving another heavy blow from his opponent, Leets answers politely, with another 20 to hit and 9 damage.

Kanchana pulls the arrow that has embedded itself into her and then applies her want to heal herself. She give the order for healing to be applied to Leets.
Toros finds himself having all the problems in the world trying to drag the cleric back as he fights. He will not make it back to the circle right away that is for sure.
Brahmah's, hitting minotuar2 because minotaur1 has moved too far away, sword and kukri bit deeply into the minotaurs body and you see the spark of life slowly fade from his eyes. You ponder the idea of moving out a little but decide not to.
Taric fights to maintain his spell as he checks out the situation. He hopes that they will hold out long enough to end this fight with no casualties on thier side.
Flat-top's morningstar smashes heavily into the minotaur and then he rears up and brings hooves down on him.
Kenisha stops the arrow flying in her direction easily. She then sends another bolt of lightning at the wemic archer.
Gecktar lays another bout of healing into Leets. He sends a silent prayer to Domi for his assistance in this battle and to look favorably on them.
Both times Leets's morningstar finds a hold in the minotaurs body and he staggers back. His hooves find no purchase though and miss their mark.
Pah'caw swoops in again at a target and finds that she catches nothing but air.
Managarm blinks back to the roof when the last bolt is past and bites into the wemics back leg. He jerks and growls loudly before blinking back to his master's side.
The celestial dog growls and latches onto the minotaur that just punched at Toros. His fangs sink into the minotaur's back leg painfully.
The Mailed Fist Cleric is still grappled by Toros and being drug back to the circle of Chosen.
The wemic does not even feel the bite of the dog as it attacks him. He has already dropped his bow of the side of the building and is partially hanging there himself.
Minotaur1 smiles some at the plight of the cleric, not really liking him that much anyways, and sends another set of punches at Toros (hit: 27/16, damage: 7/9).
Minotaur2 feels the very life slowly fading from his body and topples over, to land heavily in the street.
Minotaur3&4 find themselves staring off into space at the lights.
Minotaur5 laughs at Gecktar's pitiful attemps at healing the others. He swings his axe again at Gecktar, laughing all the time (hit: 30/24, damage: 16/12).
Minotaur6 brow furrows as he takes a slight beating from Leets. With a roar he sends his sword smashing in at him with a vengeance (hit: 18/10, damage: 14/15).
[Toros - The first punch would have missed you.]
[Toros - If you score a critical it is called a threat and then you roll another d20, if that one would have hit your target as well then you get to do critical damage. Remember to roll critical damage as well, just in case you do hit with both d20s.]
[Kenisha - She is right. I wanted everyone to ignore any advancements that the experience I gave would have made. All advancements will be made at the end of the module when I give out all the experience. That is why I said I made a mistake with the experience this time around.]

Receiving one more painful punch from the taur Toros roars in pain. However, he is determined to drag the cleric with him and continue his singing (, although the melody seems to be differing a bit reflecting the pain). He keeps moving closer to the circle. He will at least try to make near Brahmah. (d20, 5 + 17 (moral bonuses do not stack) + 4 from previous post?) 25. If the captain can save him from the taur1, and the cleric is still grappled by him he will start giving some damage to the cleric. <<can I use the previous post, if so d20=15 is the roll for critical (36) damage, if not a new attack with d8, 2 and 13 hp damage. Brahmah looks around and seeing the plight about to occure to the newest Chosen, Toros. Watching minotaur #1 attack, he hopes the new friend doesn't drop the cleric. "Hold that one tight, Toros, don't let go! I'm coming." He says pointing.
Brahmah moves(move action) to meet minotaur #1. He attacks(standad action), once. Hitting AC 29, for 14 damage. [Only one attack, right?]
Taric Saturday December 20th, 2003 1:58:52 AM
Taric knows he has to keep his concentration up to keep the two minotaurs out of the battle. He turns to Flat-Top and says: "Take care of the minotaur attacking Gecktar first. Or the one attacking Leets. I got the other two for now. And Brahmah and Toros seem to be doing alright against the other minotaurs."
Gecktar Saturday December 20th, 2003 3:08:49 AM
The great axe of minotaur #5 hit hard into the flesh of Gecktar. He falls on he knees and a veil of blood come across his eyes as he loose consciousness. When his head hit the ground, only faint breath can be perceived.
The clestian Dog then disappear (end of duration)
Gecktar lies on the ground hp -5.
(OOC I assume damage is 16 + 12 and not 116 + 12 because Gecktar will be desintegrated by the blow :) )

Kanchana is facing both Leets and Gecktar and sees him fall from his wounds. She still has her CLW wand in her hand and rushes over to Gecktar and touches the wand to him. Kanchana is suddenly aware that she and a few of the others need healing. She hopes that the archer is well and truly dead! "Brahmah, if you can use the wand you have to heal yourself; or another if necessary. I need to stay here and help Gecktar."

Bounty Hunters, part five. (DM Jim) Monday December 22nd, 2003 4:05:10 PM
Toros drags the cleric back to the outer edge of the circle and smiles as his armor spikes krive themselves into the cleric.
Brahmah moves to cut of the minotuar plagueing Toros and cuts into him with his sword. It is more than enough to get the minotaurs attention.
Taric tells Flat-top to go and lend a hand to Gecktar and Leets as he has the other two minotaurs held in his spell.
Gecktar feels the bite of the large axe and then he is toppling to the ground. His weapons skitters a little ways away from him as he hits the ground.
Leets whiffs his attacks against the minotaur he faces, disturbed by the fact that Gecktar just went down. He is able to make it to him and send some much needed healing into his ravaged body.
Flat-top moves over after giving it the once quick over. He slams his morningstar into the minotaur with everything he can muster, as he pleads for Gecktar to not be dead.
Kanchana seeing that Gecktar has fallen makes it to his side and applies some healing to him as well. She lets Brahamah know that she had to leave his side and that he will need to heal himself if needed.
Vasch once again tumbles into a position that give him access to a minotaur's back. He brings his spear stabbing in at the minotaurs back with much success.
Kenisha, seeing the plight of the group on Leet's side, sends a volley of magic missiles at the minotaur. She too hopes that they did not just lose another Chosen, she would hate to have to see Gargul again this soon.
The lead minotaur1 takes the blow from Brahmah and then looks around to his men. Seeing that several of them are down or being held by some magic he shakes his great head. With a bellor he shakes the two minotaurs out of their daze somehow. "HOLD!!!"
In the meantime minotaur6 has fallen over onto his side and is most definitely dead. The others look to thier leader as he spins his finger in the air and nods. "RALLY!!!" With a nod his men start to slowly move backwards, in their general directions, sheathing thier weapons as they do.
The leader hears one of the minotuars ask about the cleric and he grunts. "Leave him to these ones...he is of no concern to me." With that he also starts backing away while sheathing his sword. He gives Brahmah a salute and nods once more. "We underestimated you this time...but maybe in the future we will meet again.
The black/sick green armored minotaur turn to the liontaur standing next to him and points in your direction, commenting on something. The liontaur nods and seems to make a few gestures of his own before they go back to watching. When the bounty hunters decide to retreat the armored minotaur bursts into a great belly laugh that sends chills up your spine. Neither of them make a move to leave or come in your direction, they just stand there where the docks begin.
Gecktar 3d8(8+7+1)+15=31 Monday December 22nd, 2003 4:43:20 PM
AC 18 (no shield) HP 19/40
First was the black cold void. He the feels one warm hand and a first wave of warmth in his body waking it up to life. He then open his eyes and crwl with the strength he still has into the circle.
When Kanchana heal him one more time he points to Leets and says in a breath Leets need more help that me... He is in the fire of fight.
As soon as he says this he sees Flat-Top inflicting a severe punishment.
When the bounty hunters retreat he sees the dark man giving orders. With all the strength that flood in his vein he says : "Trust him ! And you will face your fate with one of his poisonned dagger in your back. He doesn't need you just use you and when you'll be of no use he will betray you !... Leave him and come back into the way of Imod and the Light ! Renounce to the darkness !"
He will then stand up as he can and attend Leets who need healing (Heals 31hp with his CSW wand)
Toros (HP 45/28, AC 18) d20=5 d20=14 d12=2 d20=4 Monday December 22nd, 2003 11:44:11 PM
Having managed to bring him to where he has wanted, Toros, still holds the cleric tight. (Grapple check D20, 5 + 21, as in previous post, = 26) He knows that the fight is over, at least for now. He slow downs his song, but still keeping singing enough to be heard by his friends, taking their attention to gthe cleric on the dock, laughing like a duckh. Toros looks around and sees his friends standing besides their attackers. gThe hunters became huntedh, he expresses in his mind. Although he appreciates that the taurs are clever enough to end the fight he is not happy with the bounty hunters leaving the cleric with them, and cannot determine what to do with him, uncomfortably waits for a suggestion from captain or anyone else. Finally he has some space to check what this man keeps on himself, other than the morningstar and shield he has already dropped, whether he has anything special? (d20, 14 check)
Meanwhile, he tries to remember that black taur, does he know him, maybe from a story or song? (Bardic Knowledge check (Ignore the d12 roll, my mistake), d20, 4). No, his mind is so distracted, even if he knows about him he cannot remember at the moment, he needs to think more. Then Toros tries to ready himself for anything after this moment, listening and watching anything his friends would do.
Vasch d20+5=7 d20+9=24 Monday December 22nd, 2003 11:54:43 PM
Vasch steps aside and lets the minotaurs back off. His spear out before him he waits for some word from the others.

Kenisha (Eagle's Splendor Potion: Chr=22 for 2min. 36sec.; Mage Armor: AC=22 for 6 hr; Blessed; Courage) Tuesday December 23rd, 2003 1:02:04 AM
Kenisha keeps a careful eye on the retreating Minotaurs. "Healers, attend to Brahmah and Toros as well." she suggests.
Turning to Brahmah she says, "Now there is but those two watchers between us and the docks. Do you think they will fight? Or are they here merely to observe?"
Taric Tuesday December 23rd, 2003 1:32:10 AM
Noticing that the two taurs got someway out of his spell, Taric stops concentrating and wipes the sweat from his forehead. Taking in a deep breath his heart starts pounding a little less hard. Seeing that enough of the Chosen tend to Leets and Brahmah, Taric ducks behind anyone he can find and casts a spell on him to disappear from view since he doesn't trust the black-clad taurs.
OOC: trying to get out of line of sight for the two taurs at the docks and then casting invisibility on himself.

Leets help Gecktar to stand on his legs, and then nods at the bounty hunters leader.
"We could have avoided this fight, next time, just stand on the side of the righteous ones, and you'll have victory..."
Receiving healing from his friend Gecktar, Leets then turns in the direction of the dark Taur...When this one begins to behave strangely with his Wemic ally, he doesn't hesitate one second.
"This time you've ended with your evil witchcraft! Tonight you'll face your master and your failure, and you'll explain him that a holy war has begun!"
With those words, Leets charges the dark taur (23 and 26 to hit, 16 and 16 damage again).
"Managarm! With me!"
Kanchana (Mage Armor AC 20, 34/22 HP) d8+3=8 Tuesday December 23rd, 2003 5:00:57 AM
Kanchana looks around and sees that the others are either charging the remaining enemy or healing themselves. She heeds Kenisha's words though and walks over to Toros. She taps her CLW wand to him healing him a little bit. Kanchana speaks to Toros in Wemic, "Toros we must keep a close eye on the little two-legger cleric you captured. We mean to have words with him later. It is very important that we speak with him. I will also heal you some more but I must wait just a little bit first." Kanchana turns her attention to the Mailed Fist cleric and almost smiles. Speaking now in Common she says, "how could you choose to follow them? Did not your Spirit Father [his God] council you otherwise? You are not even a Taur, so why do you bother with us anyway?" Kanchana stares at the man with a look of plain curiousity. She is not standing close enough for the pinned human to touch her or her sheathed weapons.
(Heals Toros 8 hp)
Toros Tuesday December 23rd, 2003 5:40:04 AM
OOC: What he heard from Kanchana is enough for Toros. After this he will start applying subdeal damage with his unarmed strike till the cleric becomes unconscious. So, he can leave him there and join the others. In that manner, Jim, is it possible for you to provide an information about cleric's approximate current hit point for my next post so that I can know whether the subdual damage I made is enough or not?
Flat-top Tuesday December 23rd, 2003 6:34:28 AM
Flat-top stops only because he though he heard Brahmah's voice. He is standing with Leets, "Are you all right? Tauric! You did a wonderful job of holding Two Minotaurs from fighting." Flat-top watches the going on, BUT when those two minotaurs block the way to the ship (named Storm). "Tell me Leets, are you thinking the same thing I'm thinking? Another attack from the frount and the Back?"
Afther Leets little speach and his charge, Flat-top will charge one of the Minotaurs that are standing in their way, "Not With Out Me, You Don't!" Then follows Leet into battle.
Paw'caw(ceil) Tuesday December 23rd, 2003 6:40:03 AM

Managram(ceil) Tuesday December 23rd, 2003 6:51:35 AM
Managran sits by his master side, just panting and listening with his toung hanging out of his mouth. Then he jumps on his paws, as Leets yells "Managram, with me!" as his master charges. Managram will follow *Blink*
The Black Minotaur. (DM Jim) Tuesday December 23rd, 2003 4:38:28 PM
The bounty hunters have made good their escape by now, seeing the opportunity and following orders. They have soon disappeared into the side streets or buildings unknown.
The black/green armored minotaur continues to laugh at something that the liontaur said. Though they do not block the docks themsleves they are standing right beside them.
Leet's charge changes the look on the minotaurs face but he does not reach for his weapon but leaves it plunged into the ground. You can see that he is setting himself for the inevitable charge attack that Leets has started. The sudden charge of Flat-top as well sends the liontaur's hands twitching by his own shortswords, but does not draw them with a word from the minotaur.
Much to everyone's dismay the minotaur's gauntleted hand shoots out and catches Leet's weapon. With a twist and jerk the weapon is soon out of his hands and the minotaur is smiling into his face. "You are very quick to die and to attack unprovoked like this." He clucks his tongue as he tosses the weapon behind Leets. Pulling off his helmet he tucks it under one arm and smiles again. "You are so fully under my abilities...maybe someday we will fight but not today." He waits for the others to draw near so that he can get a better look at them and study them up close. Several times he looks directly in the direction of Taric, though without really studying him you would not realize that he can see you. The liontaur glances to his boss and then back to The Chosen, obviously not a bit nervous or scared. "Boss...have you seen all you want to see here?" He gives Kanchana the once over and smiles at her as he produces a low rumble.
He makes no move to stop you from going onto the docks and seeing about a ship. If you look closely you will notice that Storm is no longer in port, so you will need to seek new passage.
[The cleric has felt some moderate hurt for his troubles.]
[There is also a small pouch hanging at the cleric's side and his belt is slightly wider than normal.]
Kanchana d20+11=25 d20+4=15 Tuesday December 23rd, 2003 5:58:12 PM
Kanchana momentarily "forgets" about the captured cleric and healing Toros as Leets and Flat-top charge the Black-clad Minotaur and his Liontaur crony. "Oh bother! Not a good move. Toros please... keep...", her voice trails away as Toros runs after the others. "Darn males!! Always haring off..." Kanchana snarls angrily as she glares at Toros' rapidly departing back. Kanchana picks up the unconscious (I presume) cleric and begins to try to revive him from his black-out before moving on. Though in fact she very seriously considers just simply leaving him behind; eventhough she knows that he will just keep dogging the Chosen. She shrugs and decides to leave the cleric where he is; after checking that he will indeed live and not bleed to death or anything. She mutters; "if no one else cares then neither shall I..." Then she sheathes her wand walks towards the Minotaur and Liontaur - where seemingly everyone else is.
When Kanchana is near enough to get a good look at the "observers" she stops and studies them outright, wanting to vividly remember how these two look. Kanchana returns the favor to the unknown male Liontaur; giving him an "appraising once over" as well. She notes in particular the unique snow leopard pattern to his fur. Kanchana looks him straight in the face as he smiles at her. She is trying to read exactly what that smile is supposed to mean. Her expression shows some curiousity; no anger at all, and a vague but acute desire to ask *who the heck are you anyway?* When he lets out that low rumbling sound Kanchana looks towards the docks and slowly heads in that direction, not at all happy about having to go sailing again.

Toros HP 45/36 AC 18 d20=19 d4=1 d20=9 d20=15 Tuesday December 23rd, 2003 7:32:04 PM
After listening the words of Kanchana, Toros start using his unarmed strike (not claws?) to sub-damage the cleric. (d20, 19 grapple check) (d4, 1 unarmed strike + 10 = 11) (He can make subdeal damage without penalty and +1, improved unarmed strike-weapon focus (unarmed strike) coming from war cleric domain)
<<It should not be enough to make cleric unconscious>>
If the cleric becomes unconscious the actions of Toros are in the lines of Kanchana. Toros leaves cleric and approaches to others.
If not;
Toros watches his friends charging the taurs with worried eyes then surprise added to this, when he saw the ending of their attack.
He finally stops singing, and thanks Kanchana for the healing. He also tries to understand what that pouch and slightly wide belt can be (d20 9). In Wemic also, he does not ignore to ask Kanchana's idea about them, especially about the functioning of the belt. Then Toros makes his comment in a way that cleric also can understand. "As far as I know, isn't it an irony of fate that the one who left his men in the past is now left behind..."
As he has to stay with the cleric a bit longer, he tells "Kanchana, I guess I have to stay a bit longer with the cleric but hopefully I will join you later" and watches Kanchana to approach the others, holding still tight the cleric. He can also let the pinned cleric to talk, if he has something interesting to say, in order not to get bored while together with him.
He is still in rage with remaining 4-5 rounds. Meanwhile, his brain still continues to think whether or where he knows those taurs. (d20, 15). Finally he also asks Vasch, "Hey Vasch, would you accompany me while I am waiting for our temporary guest, if you don`t have any better thing to do".
Taric Wednesday December 24th, 2003 12:00:14 AM
Taric feels kinda nervous with the black-clad Taur looking at him. Or not? Taric can't figure it out, but the looks make him skittish. He decides to walk closer to hear better what is going on, but the events in the past seconds surely have surprised him so far.
Brahmah, -27hps Wednesday December 24th, 2003 2:13:14 AM
Brahmah moves up with the others and is unconcerned with the fact the 'observers' seem to be studying the Chosen. He still has weapons drawn and is no means intimidated my the Black Minotaurs boast. "If your so good, and we are in no way a challenge for you, then you wouldn't mind stating your name... brother." As the Captain says 'brother', it's quite obvious to EVERYONE, that he's restraining himself. "Why do we hold your interest so intently?"
He moves over to Toros and the cleric, and very calmly removes the pouch from the man, giving the cleric a light smack on the back of the head. He's fully aware that the 'observers' are watching.
Kenisha (Eagle's Splendor Potion: Chr=22 for 2min. 30sec.; Mage Armor: AC=22 for 6 hr; Blessed; Courage) Wednesday December 24th, 2003 2:31:17 AM
Kenisha moves forward with the others, but stays back a bit, guiding Vrurt and the children towards the docks.
When Brahmah comes back to give the cleric a knock, swhe whispers to him. "I think those two are here to see what kind of a threat we are. I don't think they care about the children at all."
Leets Wednesday December 24th, 2003 5:11:39 AM
When he feels that he loses his grip on his morningstar, Leets knows he has a dangerous challenge in front of him...Now only having his bare hands to fight, he hesitates one second, thinking of throwing his smite evil fist in the dark Minotaur face...But no...
Instead of this, he catches his morningstar on the ground, and ties it to his belt.
"Everything changes, dark one...Maybe today your abilities are beyond our humble grip, but there will always be righteous ones on your way, and the way of your master...We are servants of the gods, and we both know that all this is beyond time...And your own hour will come..."
No longer interested...Leets comes back among his friends, so that the Dark One can have a sight of the united Chosen...
"Thanks you all...Gecktar, Kanchana, Taric and Kenisha...We made it this time...And will make it again, when time will come..."
The Centaur paladin throws a steely gaze at the dark Taur, hand on his morningstar...
Flat-top Wednesday December 24th, 2003 6:43:02 AM
Flat-top charges in just as Leets drops his morning star, he get in between Leets and this black Minotaur. "Listen Leets! Remember the blessings we received from Both Gods. We did something that almost no other Taur has done. We, all of us Children have gotten our Brother Vasch back from the land of the Dead. This two poor soles cannot do that. Let's go home with our charges. And Meet These Braggard Another Day." Flat-top give the now pined Black Bull headed Taur a final squeeze (with his roump) and they walk onto the docks (behind the children.)
As them walk away Flat-top tells Brahmah "Captain! That was good, cutting that cleric bag of money off his belt. I wisk I could have left them a gift too, But I'm all out of Road Apples!"
Paw'caw Wednesday December 24th, 2003 6:55:32 AM
Paw'caw watches from her perch, she paces back and forth unsure if she's needed. She takes to the skies making a lazy eight paterm. When Lo and behold there's a male Golden Eagle Flying next to her??

Managram(ceil) d20+4=20 d4+4=5 Wednesday December 24th, 2003 7:06:16 AM
*Blink* Managram is next to the weimic Cleric's tail, of course managram bits the tail. "Chump! Grrr." and will not let go untill Leets leaves.
Vasch d20+9=18 d20+5=12 Wednesday December 24th, 2003 11:36:56 AM
Vasch cautiously retrieves his bow while keeping an ever-vigil eye on the area. He puts his spear away and keeps his bow ready.
"I can watch the cleric." Vasch says slowly moving over to the cleric's position.
He glances at Brahmah for some words of direction since it's obvious that they need to find a new boat or means off the island.
"We need to move." He says to Brahmah.
Spot DC18, Listen DC12.
The Black Minotaur. (DM Jim) Wednesday December 24th, 2003 5:03:10 PM
The minotaur smiles at Brahmah and then nods. "Yes of course introductions are in order." Glancing to the liontaur standing next to him that is purring at Kanchana he laughs. "My name is Vargas and this enamored young pup is Thalis, my right hand man."
The liontaur looks to the dog that is clinging to his tail and growls lightly. "You had better curb in your dog...Vargas may not want to fight but I would not be above it." He bares his teeth as his hands tighten on his sword hilts. Vargas lays a hand on his man's shoulder and squeezes lightly. "Let it go Thalis." With a shake of his head he turns after gathering his gear and starts to walk away. He is followed by the liontaur who has gotten his tail free, but casts a dark look at Managarm. Stopping the minotuar turns for a second before leaving. "I believe that the children will have to see thier Uncle Vargas at a later time."
The cleric is out cold after a few well placed shots. His pouch is also stripped and stashed for later appraisal, though noone has touched his belt.
Making your way up onto the dock you see that the Storm is no longer here for sure. Standing on the dock though are three people talking. They are most obviously captain of three of the ships docked here and waiting to head out. The minotaur captain turns and look in your direction before signing himself against evil. The other minotaur captain crosses his arms across his chest and scowls as he see you approach. The last captain is a female human that looks on with interest as you approach, though she does not look to happy at the time. You see sailors milling around on the decks of the ships, several stopping to watch as you approach.
Toros HP 45/36 AC 18 d20=8 d4=4 d20=14 d20=11 Wednesday December 24th, 2003 5:39:30 PM
Toros continues his subdeal damage on the cleric, maybe by squeezing so tight the right points in his body. (d20, 8 grapple check; d4, 4 damage). 14hp.
He asks Vasch in Wemic, "do you think we should tie him enough not to cause any trouble but walk with us, or just make him unconscious and carry him for later 'appraisal'".
He still thinks to himself, "Uncle Vargas, did I hear about him" (d20, 14) and Thalis (d20, 11), hmmmm".
Again, in Wemic he also asks about the cleric's belt and its unusual wideness. He also starts looking around to the remainings from the battlefield, and sees the fallen morningstar and shield of the cleric. Toros then suggests Leets "hey Leets, do you think this shield over there be of some use to you, I heard that you used to have one shield, this shield of cleric may not take the place of it but still..."
Flat-top Wednesday December 24th, 2003 8:31:00 PM
Flat-top tells Managram "Managram! Leets want you, so let go and go go go" Then he turn to the other guys "When these two want another leson in maners, I'm sure we can give them another leson."
He and the rest of the party follow Brahmah to where the three Captains are and they don't seem to be in a good mood.
Brahmah Wednesday December 24th, 2003 10:47:37 PM
Looking at the two observers, Brahmah listens to the introductions. "Vargus, Thalis, I have no reason to trust or mistrust either of you. You seem to be honorable. *He salutes Vargus.* Thalis, why are you so angry with us? Did we offend you somehow? I'd gladly fight you if you like." He smiles. *He scowls at Vargus as he says 'Uncle Vargus'*
At the docks, Brahmah looks over the three Captains and then ponders. Then walks up to the minotaur captain. "Hello, can you take on ten passengers, two children and two animals?"
Kenisha Wednesday December 24th, 2003 11:29:48 PM
"I think it would be a good idea to remove that belt as well." Kenisha says as the puts deed to words and removes the wide belt from the unconscious cleric. "He might be able to use it to harm us."
As the group passes the Vargus and Thalis, Kenisha makes sure that she is between them and the children at all times.
Toros d20=17 d20=3 d20=10 d20=2 Wednesday December 24th, 2003 11:44:09 PM
<<Thank you for the warning!! I am sorry, I misunderstood as if he still needed some more treatment to become unconscious. I think then you can ignore my grappling and subdeal damage.>>
"I am sorry Captain, I did not notice he was already unconscious". Instead of strongly holding him, with great happiness, Toros carefully leaves the body to the ground. He will take the belt and understand what it is (appraise check?, d20, 17). He will also check the body with more care to understand whether the cleric is allright (d20, 3), but for sure he is not as capable as Kanchana in doing so, maybe due to his lack of patience. He will also try to see whether the cleric has anythingelse other than the objects he has first noticed. like anything in his pockets or bag, if he has any. (d20, 10). When he finishes his job with cleric he stands up and tries to get an understanding of his surrounding (spot or listen d20, 2) but he feels a bit exhausted from the struggle with the taurs and cleric and feels the need to rest a bit. (rage ends with negative effects till the end of that combat).
<<The rest of the post is the same, he still thinks of the taurs to remember any piece of information, and while talking with Leets and Vasch. I hope this solves my previous wrong doing. On the other hand again by mistake I made too many rolls and skill checks. If you feel the need you can ignore the d20 = 2 check and some others>>
Toros Wednesday December 24th, 2003 11:47:33 PM
<<Ha ha! While I was writing mine Kenisha also submitted her post, but luckily, I think mine is not in contradiction to hers.>>
Taric (invisible) Thursday December 25th, 2003 4:07:27 AM
The two observers gave Taric the shivers. When they leave Taric can barely suppress a sigh of relief, realizing fully well they would not be ready for them right now.
Following Brahmah to the ship, Taric stays invisible, just in case it might come in handy. For now Taric is content with just following along.
Flat-top Thursday December 25th, 2003 8:30:57 AM
Flat-top smiles at Toros, "I know that he needed a good leson and you just the one to teach him one. But when a Taur is limp or not yelling in pain any more. It's a good though that he's numb or dead. Good job Toros" Flat-top trots away trying to supress a laugh.
When Brahmah ask for passage on that Captain boat, Flat-top has a second though he look around and cannot see Tauric. He ask Kenisha and Kanchana, (in a low voice) "Have you seen Tauric? Last time I saw him we were fighting and he was doing well." Then a though hit him "I wish that he would slap me on my roung, so that I wouldn't worry of leaving him behind!!"
Merry Christmas to all Taurs every where.
Paw'caw Thursday December 25th, 2003 8:38:26 AM
Paw'caw is making crazy circles High in the sky. She is not alone?? After a few feathers are ruffled, She dives down to Brahmah's shoulder. She will wait for her master's next order.
Managram Thursday December 25th, 2003 8:47:38 AM
Managran is not about to let go, But after being told to he does let go, but not before he growls "Grrr! Grrr!" turn around scratching the ground with hind paws, throwing dirt all over the Side Kicks clothes, as if to say "Here's Dirt in your eyes". Managram marches off with his Master with his nose in the airs.
Kanchana Thursday December 25th, 2003 2:26:06 PM
Kanchana smiles slightly at Thalis as he purrs at her. She is quite flattered and surprised by the totally unexpected attention. She takes note of the names of these two mysterious Taurs and then moves to follow the others to the docks. Kanchana saunters down to the docks; her tail swishing back and forth a little as she walks. Being the last one to head that way she doesn't see the Minotaur warding himself or the scowls either. Kanchana does note the female human though. Her stomach tightens and she feels a little queasy just thinking about sailing. She vaguely hears Flat-tops' question about Taric. "Doesn't he tend to disappear in battle when he can?" she asks absently; still thinking about sailing and about Thalis. Kanchana looks as if her mind is wandering.
Passage on a Ship. (DM Jim) Thursday December 25th, 2003 5:18:19 PM
The minotuar captian that signed himself shakes his head vigorously. "I will not be taking on the likes of you. Those that turn their eyes from Domi." Without another word he turns and storms off to his boat.
The other minotuar looks over the group as if calculating something in his mind. He says nothing yet as his gaze lingers over the females. He shakes his head as he sighs, knowing what is to come. "No women on my ship...it is a bad omen and will surely bring disaster." He spits on the deck for added emphasis to his statement.
The human turns on her heels and without a word of warning brings her fist crashing into the minotaur's jaw. Despite her smaller size the minotaur drops to the dock moaning. "I dare ya ta say that again." As several of the men from the minotuar's ship start to filter off to their captains rescue there is a heavy thud on the deck. A large well muscled minotaur female lands on the dock. She is dressed in a plain shirt, pants and sandles. Her muscles bulge as she sets herself for the coming fracas, but the men stop as if hitting a wall. "Tis a sorry lot ya be...we be givn ya five ta one odds...that be in yur favor." She smiles as she grinds her knuckles into her other fist. Within just a few minutes the dock is cleared of the captain as well as his men who have returned to thier ship.
Turning to you the human pulls off her wide-brimmed hat and bows deeply to the lot of you. "Me name be Captain Lira Cordina." Pointing to the female minotaur beside her she smiles. "This be me first mate...Yandana and mighty handy in a fight." Glancing around she looks to Brahmah and smiles again. "Me be takn it ye seek passage...to where if I may ask?" A general interest in your destination is not a bad thing and she will have to take you there. Maybe she will take you.
Yandan makes her way over to Brahmah and slowly circles him as she looks him over. With a smiles she stops in front of him and stands with hands on hips. "Want to arm wrestle?" It is easy to tell that she has conditions for the event, but that would have to wait unless you are actaully more inclined. Glancing back to the Captain she smiles again as she nods to Brahmah. "I say we be takn them on...this one could be provn most entertaining." She smiles again at Brahmah as she runs a hand through her short cut hair.
[Toros - You slightly remember the name Vargas but as to what it is attached to you are not sure.]
Toros HP 45/36 AC 20 d20=7 d20=7 d20=1 Thursday December 25th, 2003 6:02:47 PM
When he is finished with cleric (he made a quick check of his health condition, at least he looks OK, he checked his belongings, tried to understand what the belt is, giving it back to Kenisha) Toros will want to quickly do this with other causalties. If he can reach top of the building he will go to the wemic archer. He wants to have a closer look at this taur almost killing his friend. He will also check anything he has. If anything good he may want to take them, like the bow and arrow quiver. In return, he will also try to get Leets and his javleins from where they thud. If he can not reach to the roof he will do this for first M6 then M2 in the same manner. Also if he can not reach the javelins, he may try mage hand to take them. If there is anyone available, he may ask the help of his friends to do these too. Also they need to carry cleric to the docks.
Toros seemed to be focused on his work on hand, not attending to the happenings at the dock, though he does not ignore to see and listen what is going on, and of course still thinks "Hmm, I slightly remember this Vargas but from where I am not sure"
<<I rolled these dies in case you may want to use (d20, d20, 7), but not the last one... computer rolls this before I get the chance to remove my mouse from the button. :-) It is quicker than me...>>
<<And merry christmas :-) >>
Kanchana Thursday December 25th, 2003 7:05:07 PM
Kanchana's eyes shine with excitement as the female human Ship's Captain lays the Minotaur Captain low with one blow. She almost cheers with glee. Kanchana gives the Captain and her First Mate a genuine look of respect. For the first time ever Kanchana actually seems eager to sail; and it shows. She edges over to Brahmah; after Yandana has stopped looking Brahmah over and isn't talking anymore, and whispers (her excitement leaking a little into her voice), "Brahmah, if we are permitted then book passage with them! They don't seem to pay heed to that awful slander against us... that is a good thing I think."
Brahmah Thursday December 25th, 2003 8:47:55 PM
After the group strips the cleric of all valuables and components, Brahmah walks over to him. Picking up the cleric off the ground, Brahmah slings him over his shoulder(assuming he's still unconcious) and takes him to the edge of the dock. Holding the man by his ankles, he dunks him until he sputters awake. Brahmah sits the man upright and kicks him firmly in the butt. "Be off now! 'Fore I have Toros beat the snot out of you again! And tell your masters the Chosen aren't afraid."
As the female Captain pummels the minotaur male, Brahmah smiles. "I've never been one for superstition. Females aren't bad luck on ship." He notices Yandana's interest, but the Chosen's leader has bigger interests and other females to care for and worry about. He walks over to Domisha and picks her up, giving her a sweet peck on her cheek. "No thanks. No arm wrestling right now. What is the fee for passage to Hearthold Island, Captain?"
He winks at Kanchana. "Yes, I believe they are going to be fine with us."
Turning to Flat-top, with Domisha in his arms, Brahmah says, "Don't worry Flat-top, I'm sure Taric is being useful and looking out for us. He's close."
"When we board, we need a meeting room large enough for the lot of us. Ten adults, two children and two animals... do you have room?" He asks the Captain.
Toros Thursday December 25th, 2003 11:25:16 PM
<<Also, we should not forget to use detect magic for cleric. Maybe he has got something magical!! am I suggesting right, can we use detect magic for this purpose?>>
"Thank you Brahmah for the cleric" :-)
Leets Friday December 26th, 2003 3:57:58 AM
The Cenaur paladin prefers to remain silent as the two evil ones walk away...
"Anyway, our ways will cross again...Soon..."
Before leaving, he will get a look at what weapons and armor can be taken on the battlefield.
He gladly accept Vasch shield.
"Oh thank you Vasch! This shield will be must useful! Have you seen some piece of armor, by the way...I feel like we could meet other troubles on our way, and it could be better to be equiped..."
Leets will mainly search for sets of armor on the fallen Minotaurs, unless the bounty hunters brought them...(If the bodies are still here, he'll worry about what they will become, and may ask to the first Taur arriving to take care of them..."
He will then join the group, but will let Brahmah talk to book the journey, still looking around and worried, as if the Dark Taur could come back...
He will join his friends
Flat-top Friday December 26th, 2003 9:17:37 AM
Flat-top stand there and smiles As the Female Captain Clocks that minotaur loud mouth. He wanted to rear up and cheer, but the best is yet to come. His chest puff out as Brahmah pick up Domisha. Flat-top smiles (the smiles of a proud Stalion looking at his fist two taurs).
He answers Brahmah "Ahh! Yes! Captain! I see you made a impression on these two Beautiful Play mates! You should get a good discount for this trip." Flat-top looks around hoping to feel Tauric presents. he must have a very good reason to stay out of sight.
Gecktar Friday December 26th, 2003 1:53:59 PM
Gecktar has no concern about the black taur they encounter. If we must cross his way so be it. Just after the fight he tries to get some weapon back as he has given his prefered hammer to Gargul and Domi. He will take the morning star of the fallen cleric if nobody claim it. He will also take the great sword of the fallen minotaur #6.
Now he is following his captain that will certainly find a way to go to the Hearthold Island
OOC : I will add a greatsword and a morning star to my equipment if it's alright for everybody.
Passage on a Ship. (DM Jim) Friday December 26th, 2003 3:20:48 PM
The cleric glares at you as he slowly backs away from the group. He is dripping wet and mre than a little ticked. "The Mailed Fist will not take this injustice lying down...we will meet again." with that he disappears into the crowd that has started to form.
Some searching reveals that the last few arrows on the archer are burned beyond use and the bow broke from the fall. The javelins are broken as well and note useable anymore. The minotaurs that fell have no armor to speak of and the clerics shield is rather small as Leets holds it, more of a small shield to him. A closer look at the belt taken from the cleric reveals hidden pockets that contain some coin.
Captain Lira looks the group over and nods her head as he first mate slips up to her. "Me be likn them captain...we be headn that direction anyways." Lira nods and then turns to Brahmah. " Me be havn room and it be good ya not be mindn females...me whole crew be females." She starts to turn to go back to her ship when she hears the idea of payment. "Me be thinkn that ten goldl be fine." She smiles and heads on to her ship.
Once on deck she stops and turns to you again. "Me be havn two rules....first, me be the captain on this vessel...two, noone be messn with me ladies...follow da rules and be welcome aboard da GossamerWing." All over the deck are females of several of the races, it does not appear that any race has been left out...you even see a pair of dark elf twins going up the main mast. "Ya can be usen me warroom ta sleep in...hope ya donta mind sharing with ye lady folks." With a motion to Yandana she sends you to the lower deck to see the room.
Yandana leads you down to a large room with a big central table. Charts line the walls with a few bookcases with books. There is more than enough room for twenty taurs to sleep comfortably here. "Tis be the room." With a glance to Brahmah she smiles again. "Me challenge is still open when ya want." With that she leaves you to settle in.
[Everyone - Remember that all items used in the ritual to get Vasch back were given back to you by the old cleric who performed the ceremony. They were only a show of your devotion and that was enough for the gods.]
FOUND greataxe - 2 greatsword -2 fine white round gems - 5 platinum coins - 200 gold coins -500 shield (human size) morningstar (human size)
Toros Friday December 26th, 2003 5:39:29 PM
<<In addition to the found items look what I got, a fine baldic from the giggling post, and Kanchana congratulations for your brown leather boots as well. Merry Christmas, and happy new year. By the way did you know that Saint Nicholas, the Saint that Santa Clause was derived from had lived in Turkey, actually near to sea side, with so much sun. Much more suitable for a Cola ad. But, making the children happy, throwing present inside the house and being loved by people part of the story is somehow true =) >>
Toros would take one of the greataxes and leave the distribution of the other things he found to the group. He will follow to the docks and boat, showing an interest to all things around, with a song as whistle in his mouth(?)
Kenisha Friday December 26th, 2003 6:20:15 PM
"I'm sure the warroom will be fine for all of us. Thank you." Kenisha tells the captain as they are shown to the room below.
Domisha is immediately curious about everything on the ship and Kenisha ends up chasing after her to keep her out of the way of the sailors.
(Merry Christmas everyone)
Flat-top Friday December 26th, 2003 6:44:06 PM
Flat-top over sees that the beds for the little ones are made for both unitaurs and Mothers. Then He look over th spoils of the battle, "Hmm! I don't need a great axe, I don't need a great sword either, the shield is too small for me,and I already have a good Morning Star. That leaves 5 round white gems, 200pp which split between us come to 22pp each with 2pp left over and 500gp split between this group come to 55gp each with 5gp left over, Hey Captain! Pay for our passage with a platium coin that's worth 10gp. Any body else want anything??"
(Merry Christmas everybody)
Paw'caw(ceil) Friday December 26th, 2003 6:52:28 PM
Paw'caw watches her master and where he is going. She sees him board the ship. So she circle her spiral down ward pattern all the way down to the crow nest on top of the mast.
Managram(ceil) Friday December 26th, 2003 7:04:01 PM
Managram sit next to Leets, and watches the going on, but he really wanter to go after that rotten spoted cat cleric. But he stayed with Leets side. Troted on deck and down to the cabin, looking for a spot to sleep. With a full stomic he takes a nap in an open draw.
Brahmah Saturday December 27th, 2003 12:56:45 AM
He settles into the room, when everyone is around, he states some concerns ater he's sure the room is safe of spies.
"Ten gold is an awful small sum for passage, be on your toes and watchul of all these fine females. AND Flat-top, mind your manners 'round the ladies, heed those rules.... I know you love the gals!"
"Gecktar and Toros, when the mothers are away, watch the children. Taric? Taric, stay visible 'round the sailors, stay in good faith with them. It'll be some days before we get home, so sit back and stay below as much as possible. Pass the time constructively. Anyone have suggestions about anything?"
OOC: Happy Holidays.
Flat-top Saturday December 27th, 2003 8:51:30 AM
Flat-top turn around "How can you say that, Captain? OH! Well you know what they say,'You cannot keep a good Marien down' But I'll do as you say." Now flat-top is wearing a sheepish grin.
Vasch Saturday December 27th, 2003 10:13:18 PM
"It does seem a little cheap, but..." He says to Brahmah, "Maybe a little change is luck has come our way."
Toros HP 45/36 AC 20 d20=11 Sunday December 28th, 2003 12:35:36 AM
Toros is very happy to sail again and meanwhile have some time with the children. So he must be feeling very good at the moment, although he cannot stop wondering what happened to the meal which was mentioned first he met with the Chosen. "Was it in fact just a hook to convince him to join them? =)" He is hungry, after the long! fight.
When he has time alone he will just watch the scene from the board of the boat. With the refreshing feeling of the sea, he will continue to think from where he knows these taurs they met, what their relation to all these is(d20=11). Meanwhile he will try to think something for the children enjoy, maybe with some contribution from his prestidigation spell. Who knows maybe this can also get the attention of some ladies on board.
Kanchana d20+4=10 Sunday December 28th, 2003 6:38:53 AM
Kanchana steps on to the ship and reluctantly goes down into the war-room. She isn't too sure about spending the duration of the sailing below decks. If she is offered the 22pp and the 55gp she will be overjoyed and absolutely accept it; she will state that the left-over sums are fine by her to use as a group fund for expenses or to use for the Keep. Kanchana states, "I can most certainly use the money and I have no use for the weapons." "May I see those small white round gems?" If she gets a chance to look at the gems then she will attempt to appraise them. (appraise check 10) "Everyone, now would be an excellent time to try to identify the - what I think are wands - and the other magical things that we procured from the mercenaries. Do we have any pearls? These gems might be pearls..." Kanchana looks at everyone, "so what do you think? Should Kenisha, Taric and I try to see if we can figure some of those magic items out? We also picked up some of their spell component pouches." (Kanchana did a detect magic on the treasure from the Mailed Fist combat, but not from the Wemic combat. She is carrying the magic treasure from the MF) Kanchana smiles at Brahmah's comments about the ladies and Flat-top's reaction. "I think that maybe we all might somehow be too busy to be looking at any ladies." Kanchana says in a good-humored tone. "Is it ok if I get some sleep right now, so I can study a few Identify spells?" If no one objects then she will try to get some sleep right away.
Taric Monday December 29th, 2003 2:05:45 AM
Taric still feels a little squeezy about everything, but after the display of the human female and her first mate decides to step out into the open, grins a bit at Flat-Top like telling him that he was here all the time and then follows the others on the ship.
He is rather glad to be getting on the ship as it means another step closer to reaching Harthold keep. It should also provide a good means of thinking things over, since a lot had happened in the past few days.
And he might even have a chance to practice his drawing again. It had been too long since he made his last one.
At the suggestion of Kanchana, Taric agrees to study in four identify spells.
OOC: memorizing 4 identify spells instead of other 1st level spells, so 1st level spells will be: identify (4x), silent image.
Brahmah Monday December 29th, 2003 2:39:11 AM
"Let's get reminder of what's magical loot or not too."
Brahmahs prepared spell will be, Summon Nature's Ally 1
Kenisha Monday December 29th, 2003 6:24:58 AM
"I would help identify those items if I could, my friends, but I do not know that spell." Kenisha tells the others.
(ooc- And won't know it until we get the official ok to level from this adventure. :)
Leets Monday December 29th, 2003 7:54:58 AM
Once aboard Leets will consider the Loot gathered on the battlefield, but is finally not interested in anything but some money. Maybe when more peaceful time will come he can buy some armor...
Until this, he will enjoy the journey, being as polite as he can with the crew, and spending some time with Managarm. He will clean his shield and his morningstar.
"Hey! Gecktar, maybe it's time to talk a little bit...Tell me how you joined Domi's clergymen...We can share our experience maybe..."
The GossamerWing. (DM Jim) Monday December 29th, 2003 4:34:39 PM
Soon there is a knock on the door to the warroom. When you open it two females saunter in with several trays laden with several kinds of food. They quickly usher themselves out not wanting to bother you. They return sometime later to collect the trays and jugs of wine and water they brought.
There is talk about the cost of the passage and how low it seems to be for a group your size. Others talk over the identifying and division of the magical treasure. Shortly after the trays had been collected earlier the Captain comes in to check on you. "Me be checking ta see how ya doin and ifn ya want to go above deck...that be ok." She looks around at the room and is satisfied that it is well enough furnished for you. "Me will be collectn me payment when we be gettn to Hearthold....ifn ya be wondern the price be that because we be sailn there anyways and there be somethn different about ye." She slips back out the door to the upper deck to go about her business.
Feeling a little better you all fall asleep, though you still take some precautions. That night a small chubby halfling like creature slips into your room (listen DC 12 to notice). He is standing on the big table and digging through a green bag.
[The first gem that Kanchana appraises is indeed a pearl and she estimates it's value at 680gps. She makes no checks on the others at this time.]
[You find the components for three identify spells out of the pouches you gather.]
Magical Treasure *this stuff you have cast detect magic on and know is magical* potions - 16 wands - 3 ring - 1 necklaces - 2 token - 1 battleaxes - 2
*this stuff has not been detected as magical, mainly from the last battle* *potions - 8 *bracer - 1 *belt - 1 *greataxe - 2 *greatsword - 2 *white stones - 5
Toros HP 45/36 AC 20 d20=3 Monday December 29th, 2003 5:10:03 PM
Happy and satisfied with the dinner Toros should be sleeping good and heavy, maybe making some noice of his own. His bed should be chosen after all others found theri place. He mighting be dreaming about playing with the children, what he will do with the money and possible new items he may get.
(d20, 3 listen) He hasnot heart anything yet.
Flat-top d20=11 Monday December 29th, 2003 7:59:24 PM
Listen 11
Flat-top watches the babies, poor little things they went through so much and yet the were very good. They did not make a sound or cried in fear. So Flat-top will tuck them in for the night, tell them a story about a one eyed purple monster who eats grapes. When they asleep, Flat-top will get together with the others.
After the captain check on them, and leaves. The Taurs all settles down and have for once a good nite sleep. Flat-top leans against the wall and fall asleep, and he does not notice anything.
Kanchana d20+4=20 d20+5=17 Monday December 29th, 2003 10:11:44 PM
Kanchana went to bed early and probably didn't hear any of the exchange between any of the crew and the Chosen. She does however hear something sneak into their quarters and sits up groggily to have a look around. She isn't entirely sure that she sees a small creature on the table digging into a bag or if she is still dreaming. *?* Kanchana blinks slowly and watches the creature without saying a word.
(Listen 20, Spot 17)
Kanchana will memorize/pray for these spells, if she has gotten enough sleep; if not she will try to get more sleep a little bit later (after checking out the little person):
Kenisha and Domisha d20+2=22 Monday December 29th, 2003 10:26:49 PM
Domisha enjoys her supper (if a bit messily) and listens to Flat-top's story with rapt attention; her feline eyes wide with wonder.
Kenisha settles her daughter down to sleep and soon joins her in slumber.
(Listen Check = 22. Wow! I guess Kenisha still a little paranoid. ^_^ )
Brahmah stands(no armor on) and moves (move silently 16) toward the halfling. When he gets close enough to grab him, he says, "Little friend, you must have a death wish." If he can, he'll grab the little creature. (Base Attack +6, Str +6, Size mod +4= GRAPPLE hits 19)

When on board Gecktar feels that the danger is now beyond them for some time at least... He will use his two remaining first level slots to heal Brahmah and Toros (casting cure light wounds and healing them both 10 hp) After that he will take a bed not far from the children as his captain asked him that he must keep an eye on them... He tries to keep an eye open during the night but the fatigue of the day and his wounds catch him. Just to be awaken by a small intruder. He will watch a time to see what the small creature is expecting...
He will pray for the following spell in the morning : Clr lvl 0 (4) Create water, detect magic, purify food an drink, light
Vasch d20+5=16 Tuesday December 30th, 2003 10:06:01 AM
Vasch spends much of his time below deck while on the sea. He seems to dislike the swaying motion of the ship.
As far as stuff found, extra weapons that can be use I think should be passed out since it's always good to have back-up weapons.
Vasch notices the halfling, but defers questions.

The little fat halfling turns around just in time to be grabbed by Brahmah. The little man does not hear anything that is said as he glares at Brahmah. "Why you no good dullard of a giant....have you no respect for not grabbing peoples." Suddenly Brahmah finds that the little man has seemingly melted through his hands and lands lightly on the table. "Must you idiots always mistake me for a leprechaun...you dimwitted big dumbell...is your head full of straw." He suddenly disappears from sight and much to your surprise he reappears on Brahmah's shoulders. With a quickness that is not apparent from the little guys size he smashes his green bag into the back of Brahmah's head (hit: 26/40/25, damage: 0/2/3). Each one of the hits is accentauted by his continued insults to Brahmah. "You she bull...numbskull....weirdo." He reappears on the table where you finally may notice the few presents laying out on the table with your names on them. "I have a mind to put these presents back and leave right this instant and go home....you want to sorrow of every taur on your shoulders you dolt....ohhh the kids will sing a song for you....stealing thier joy." You can see that he is not exactly the nicest guy in the world, but then again you had not just been grabbed for no reason.
In all the uproar the two children have woken up and look around drowsily. Once they spot the little man though they are wide awake and running towards him, little voices raised in shouts. "OR...OR...or." The little halfling turns to the children and a big smile breaks out on his face. With a large smile he digs into the bag and pulls out two presents, one blue and green the other red and yellow. He hands one to each of the children as they reach the table. He gently pats them on the head after giving them eight sticks of candy. "There you go little ones have fun." As they run off he turns back to Brahmah, the smile gone and the scowl back. "Now as for you...apologize to Orto this instant or you will be heralded as the destroyer of present day." He stands on the table his hands on his hips as he holds his green sack and just glares.
By this time everyone else in the room should be awake and wondering what is going on. If anyone has any wits about them (int DC 10) they will have some recollection as a young taur and receiveing a gift on this day.
Vrurt's child tears into the package and pulls out a set of little multi-colored balls. She giggles as she pulls one up from the box they are in and tosses one. She may not have meant too, but the ball hits Flat-top on the head and then bounces away. She cries in glee as she chases the ball across the room
[The two children will most likely tear into thier gifts and find the following. Domisha gets a small box with a set of multi-colored blocks inside, more like small prisms. Vrurt's child will find a set of multi-colored balls.]
Toros d20=17 Tuesday December 30th, 2003 6:24:33 PM
<<Thank you Gecktar for healing :-) >>
When Toros wakes up he cannot believe to his eyes, whether it was still dream or not. It was him, Orto; and a very similar scene with children he was dreaming almost right now. He wonders what Orto might have for him and just wants to run towards him as the children did, or as it was in the dream (?). But, he should act as a young mature Taur...
"Ah Orto, what a nice surprise" He stands up from the bed and welcomes the new comer. His eyes are wide open, as if to put into his brain as much as possible from the experience with this legend creature's existence just next to them and approach their unexpected guest.
(d20: 17)
When having time, he will definitely go near children to play with them and appreciate their new toys. After all he is the youngest of the chosen, he will start thinking like that! Then on the deck Toros will mediate for his spells, looking to the sea, with the delight of the new year. The whole boat could be awake until that time with the louds and cheers.
<<everyone, happy new year, looking forward to meeting you on the next year too!!!>>>
Toros addendum d20=20 Tuesday December 30th, 2003 6:40:56 PM
Oh, and at the beginning Toros is not totally aware of what has been going on or the little halfling could be angry for any reason, then from the behaviour of Orto he will realize that there is something wrong. And being also in accordance with the behaviours of others, he will do his best to return the situation normal and everyone enjoy him/herself with the presents - in fit with the spirit of the day. Maybe a nice song from old times started at the right time can do wonders to warm up... (d20, 20 diplomacy check)
Brahmah, taken 5 points of SACK damage Tuesday December 30th, 2003 6:45:24 PM
The minotaur looks at the fat little man with suspicion. When Orto hands the candy to the children, Brahmah won't hesitate taking the sweets from the babies. If they cry, that's fine, they would understand when their older.
"A Lepra-what!? I don't care if your stealing or leaving things in here! You should NOT intrude on people who don't know your customs. I grabbed you because you were here, UNINVITED! I call intruding." "Call me the Destroyer of Present day then if your inclined!!"
"If you weren't so greasy, I would have probably killed you." Noticing that everyone else is up, Brahmah goes back to the bedroll. He checks his pockets for missing items. "Everyone, check your valuables! The greasy FAT rat has a big sack!" Then he flops down and goes to sleep.
(OOC: Who is Orto? Is he a myth Brahmah should know?)
Flat-top Tuesday December 30th, 2003 7:04:54 PM
"zzzzz snort?? ouch! what what's this??" Flat-top look around as the children are playing with their toys. "Oh! Ho! It must be Present Day where every good little taurs get a present today." then Flat-top playes toss the ball with the two children. "Well I see there won't be any sleep tonight." Then you see a very strange sight, a Centaur down on his knees(with his hind end high in the air) playing with the prisms, "We put the green ones here and the red ones there, then the white ones in the middle....." All the while that ball bounces off his head and Flat-top bounces the ball to Gerklan.
Kenisha and Domisha d20+3=13 d20+5=14 Tuesday December 30th, 2003 11:42:23 PM
"There won't be any sleep tonight, not with eight sticks of candy." Kenisha says as the takes seven of the sticks for Domisha out of her reach. Domisha doesn't notice this as she is busy sucking on the first stick and playing with her prisms.
Kenisha bows to Orto. "Please excuse my friend here. We've all had a very trying week, what with several attempts to kill these children here. We've had to becomes very cautious of everyone we've met. Thank you for giving Domisha and Vrurt's child their presents."

Kanchana d20+3=12 d20=20 Wednesday December 31st, 2003 12:45:30 AM
Kanchana realizes with a start who Orto is. She heaves herself out of bed and moves over to the table. She bows her head in greeting to the little man. Speaking very politely Kanchana tries her underated diplomacy, "Begging your pardon Sir but ill behaviour was done by you both. Captain doesn't yet realize who you are and you shouldn't have called him those names." Kanchana looks at Orto and grins. "We all thank you for what you have given the children though, and hope that all little Taurs may enjoy your generousity as well in these dark times." She pointedly ignores the other gifts on the table for now. "Brahmah Orto is not a thief he gives people things. Most people don't remember who he is once they have "grown up" though." Kanchana looks a little confused at Brahmah's rather scary display.

((Happy New Year everyone!))
Taric Wednesday December 31st, 2003 3:31:56 AM
Taric wakes up slowly and opens up one eye. He sees a weird display in front of him. Taurs acting like children. Taurs acting like they have gone crazy. And Taurs doing things they normally don't even think about.
Taric lets it all sink slowly into his mind, trying to understand it all. He then hears the name 'Orto'. Somehow he knows what it means, but he can't fathom it all.
For now he follows the ongoing scene, curious to what will be happening next. He would be glad to find out what exactly is going on and he suspects somebody or something to explain the current situation soon enough.
Brahmah Wednesday December 31st, 2003 4:51:50 AM
Laying on his bedroll, Brahmah simply says, "Sorry."
Gecktar d20+2=15 d20+6=26 Wednesday December 31st, 2003 12:51:46 PM
Gecktar wake up and see the little creature. Is dream was about an old man with a large bag on his back giving toys to all children in the world. What a strange dream !!! Seeing Orto he will try to interfere with Brahmah but to late.... "Please forgive our comrade and captain. He bears the weight of our safety... and times are sad. We've lost a friend and almost lost one more of the chosen. Be welcome in our vinicity and accept a small drink. Does anybody have some strong drink to lift our glass to a new era. May the bless of Domi protect us and all those of pure heart !"
(Int roll 15, Diplomacy 26 !)
The GossamerWing. (DM Jim) Wednesday December 31st, 2003 4:47:14 PM
Orto does not seem to be fazed by the soothing words of anyone, but he does look to Brahmah. "You are probably right..." Pulling at the green suit he has on he grumbles. "It is this blasted suit...I hate green...it makes me look fat and all." As he digs in his bag and lays out a few more presents you hear him still mumbling. "The council in their blasted wisdom will not let me take a different color...it's enough to make anyone crazy." Laying the sack to the side he pulls out a little book as he glances to Brahmah again. As he flips through it you may notice pictures of people you know, then he finally stops. On the page is a picture of Brahmah. "Ahhh...that would explain it...a nonbeliever." With a look to Brahmah he gives a small smile as he slips the book away. "I am sorry that I could not bring you that sword you wanted when you were little." With a last look to Brahmah he smiles again. "Please forgive an old grumpy man like myself...I will have to try and keep up with Wold events...seems a lot is happening that I do not know." With a last look to the group he smiles and waves, then he begins to shrink down till he literally winks out. "Happy Presents Day Chosen...and Brahmah keep up the good work and have faith in me."
Laying on the table are nine medium sized boxes in an assortment of colors. Each of them are labeled with one of your names on a small tag hanging off them. The excitement has also taken its toll on the children as they have fallen asleep again. Domisha lays with her blocks pulled close to her as Vrurt's child lays with her head resting on one of the balls.
You have been sailing for a day now and it is estimated that it will take another five to get to Hearthold Keep...weather permiting.
PACKAGES: In each package you will find two-three presents with a note telling you what they are. You will also find a bag of thirty small fruit/nut filled pastries.
Brahmah: magic weapon oil, entangle scroll, pass without trace scroll
Flat-top: magic weapon oil, shield of faith potion +2
Toros: magic weapon oil, bless scroll, endure elements scroll
Brahmah Wednesday December 31st, 2003 5:36:22 PM
As he lays there, Brahmah notices the book. "Wait, you have a book about me? Sword! I asked for that when I was..." Then he sits up as the little green man pops out. "Hmm... How's he know me? I never had time to believe after dad left..."
He lays there for sometime, until his gift is the only one left, unopened. He approuches it with caution, tapping it a couple of times with his kukri, expecting a trap or the like. Not finding one, he takes it to his bedroll and unwraps it.
He'll rest below deck for a day or so then go up on deck at some point.
Toros d20=14 Thursday January 1st, 2004 1:32:27 AM
Happy Toros will spend a good day below and on the deck.
He will take one of the untaken greatswords and try to use magic weapon oil on this, asking someone how to do this. Actually he wonders whether it can be used for unarmed strike of war domain clerics in Wold, too.
He had listened the story that Flat-Top told together with the children, but had fallen asleep before the end, thus he will ask Flat-top the end of the story.
With the help of his cantrip spell power he will also have some time to entertain the children, using magic to move the balls, put blocks into different forms and change their colours temporarily.
He will feel the refreshing smell of the sea, watch the horizon line, chat with others and join what they do (in case needed d20, 14, if nothing for fishing :-)).
Kenisha and Domisha d20+4=23 Thursday January 1st, 2004 3:51:15 AM
(ooc- The magic weapon oil is a short duration (one-shot) item; like a potion. So save it for a battle.)
"Happy Present Day, Brahmah." Kenisha tells the Leader in the morning when they are both away.
Domisha, when she awakes in the morning, has as much fun playing with the empty boxes as she does the prisms.
Kenisha lets her have one of the candy sticks at mid-morning.
Kenisha will also go above and if they have any tackle (or nets), will fish as well.
(Prof. Fisherman Check=23. Anything she catches she'll give to the ship's cook for everyone to share.
Flat-top Thursday January 1st, 2004 6:15:33 AM
"Ahh! Come up on deck, Captain. Let's take Paw'caw for a good flight the bird need a good flight, Kenisha is on deck fishing, besidea the mothers just gave the little ones candy." If that last comment does not move him, well nothing will.
Flat-top and Toros goes up on deck, "Well, Toros I don't remember the stories I told them last night. You see females children are not intrested in war stories, Sooo! I make up things, I don't lie?? but I do streach thr trouth just a little bit." They bouth look at each other and laugh.
Managram(ceil) Thursday January 1st, 2004 6:21:26 AM
Managram wakes up and tours the room licking up small pieces of candy here and there. He also goes to the little ones and lick their faces clean of any candy resting there. But the mothers shoos him away, so he goes back to Leets, then bacl to sleep.
Paw'caw(ceil) Thursday January 1st, 2004 6:26:25 AM
Paw'caw wags her feather tail feathers, and go with Brahmah and spend the day in the crow's nest or follow his any where he goes. But rather spend the day in her corner nest.
Gecktar Thursday January 1st, 2004 3:01:56 PM
Gecktar preciously take the gifts of the small creature. He will then stay with the children when Kenisha goes to fish an will play a little with them and their new toys.
(OOC HAPPY NEW YEAR !)
Kanchana d20+7=16 d20+7=21 Thursday January 1st, 2004 6:29:17 PM
Kanchana opens her gift and studies the contents. She carefully stows the gifts away in her haversack until they might be needed. If Kanchana has got enough sleep then she will pray for and memorize her spells (see the list posted earlier). Afterwards she will gather all of the treasure from the Wemic battle and from the docks battle (that she can find) and put it on the table. She will then cast 'Detect Magic' on the loot and concentrate for as long as she can, until all of the magical stuff is sorted out into a separate pile. Kanchana checks the spell component bags (4 of them) for any pearls as well. Kanchana will finally prepare the 'brew' for the 'Identify' spells (two brews, using two of the pearls) and then work on identifying the 2 wands from the Mailed Fist battle. Kanchana will continue doing this each new day after her spells are prepared until everything is identied or the pearls run out.... She will always identify wands before anything else.
The GossamerWing. (DM Jim) Thursday January 1st, 2004 7:48:06 PM
Everyone wakes up the next morning feeling fully refreshed. The events from last night are counted as a dream till the toys are seen laying on the floor of the childrens.
You spend the day on the deck, for some, helping out with some of the chores on the ship. You can tell that you all are making a impression on Captain Lira as she gives you other little tasks.
Yandana once again approaches Brahmah and actually challenges him to an armwrestling match this time. Many of the crew stop for a few minutes to see what will happen and even the Captain cannot help but smile from the upper deck of the ship.
Toros adn Kenisha end up on deck for some of the trip and decide to try their hand at some fishing. Toros finds his luck to be fairly decent as he pulls in a four foot long silver gray fish. His jaw drops though as Kenisha struggles with her pole for fifteen minutes, slowly coaching int he fish she has on her line. Finally she gets it close enough that one of the ladies catches it on a long hooked pole and pulls it to the deck. It is the same silver gray, but over eight feet long. After that a fishing competition starts up between some on board that have free time.
Kanchana lays out all the stuff that was collected through-out the battles on the table. She lays the stuff from the first two battles separate though as she already knows what is magical. With some concentration she is able to maek out the bluish glow around some of the last stuff gotten. Kanchana is able to identify two of the first wands gotten in the fight they had with the Mailed Fist. She finds that the first is a clw wand and the second is a magic missile wand. She smiles as she gets done with that little bit of work.
Identified CLW Wand (2nd level and 12 charges) Magic Missile Wand (3rd level and 10 charges)
[Kanchana - Let me know each day what you are interested in identifying. You had eight pearls total; three from the pouches you found, one you identified and four other that look like the one you appraised.]
[Brahmah and Leets - Forgot to mention the bag of choice meats for Pah'caw and the bag of bones for Managarm. Enough stuff in the bag for three weeks of feeding. Bags are made of an airtight material and waterproof.]
Toros Thursday January 1st, 2004 9:10:26 PM
Toros indeed appreciates Kenisha's skills in fishing and her help to understand how to use the magical oil. Listening her advices he keeps all his stuff for next battle. How was that saying... "past is ..., now is present, future is..."
He might also be interested in a wrestling match, if Yandana wants and Brahmah is not that much willing for that. He hopes whatever is done cheer up the Captain and others.
Kenisha and Domisha Friday January 2nd, 2004 12:05:30 AM
Winded from her battle with the huge fish, Kenisha helps gut and prepare the fish for supper. "It has been far too long since I've had the good fortune to fish. And never have I caught one so long as this!" she tells Toros. "Most of my fishing was from shore or stream. Bralik always did say that deep sea fishing was a different kettle of fish. Now I fully understand why!" She laughs as she massages her tired arm muscles.
Domisha spends the day playing with Vrurt's child and their toys. Pooling their presents together they make up a game of 'Knock the Blocks down'. The rules are simple. The prisms are stacked into serveral tall columns. The object is to use the smallest ball of the set (which is no bigger than a peach pit) to knock down the prisms in your set of columns before your opponent. If a throw results in no prisms falling, the ball is passed to the other player.
Brahmah Friday January 2nd, 2004 12:20:13 AM
Brahmah stirs early in the morning, just before dawn. He wakes up in a jolt, sweating as if he had a nightmare of some sort. He rolls over to get up, he puts his elbow down on one of the toy blocks and flinches as he hits his funnybone. "Ow! Shiiuooott...." He fumbles with his curse as the big eyes of a child innocently blink at him. He grins, gritting his teeth.
At some point, Brahmah glances at his gifts and places them into his backpack.
He goes to the deck and refuses the arm wrestling match from Yandana, again. He gives no explaination.
Toros d20=10 d20=13 d20=7 Friday January 2nd, 2004 1:06:18 AM
As the Captain refuses the armwrestling match with Yandana, Toros will approach Yandana and kindly offer a wrestling match. (d20,10 diplomacy) Even to make things more interesting he will offer to oil all the bodies before the wrestling so that holding a part of body will become almost impossible. He knows this way of wrestling from his home. He will also listen any offer Yandan would make about the rules of the match, like no use of magic or spell-like ability. Meanwhile hopefully there will be an enough number of audience to watch the match, making him excited enough to enter a rage.
If they start the match somehow Toros will try to grapple her with the advantage of his improved grapple, and if oiled, catching her not from an outside part of body, but by putting his paw inside the clothes and holding her from there so that the slippery effect of oil will be minimum - this is the punchline of oil wrestling he knows (d20, 13 grapple).
If he can grapple her he will try to make a performance out of it, trying to entertain the viewers and not give any harm to his opponent. However, at the end Toros will try to pin her to end the match (d20, 7).
All his actions will be in accordance with sportsmanship rules. He hopes that he will win the match, but if it will not be the case, he will accept being beaten and congratulate eagerly his opponent, as if to tell that actually she had done a great job by beating him!!
Taric Friday January 2nd, 2004 2:49:10 AM
Taric carefully stows away his gifts in his backpack, keeping them ready for later. He thinks about writing one of them into his spellbook, but decides against it at the moment as he will need all his energy to help Kanchana identifying items. He quickly joins Kanchana and follows her lead, identifying the three remaining wands first. His last identify spell he will use for the ring.
Brahmah Friday January 2nd, 2004 2:56:24 AM
Brahmah tries to stop Toros. "NO! it's not that kind of wrestling! With one arm! With one arm...."
Toros Friday January 2nd, 2004 4:48:53 AM
Yes, if Yandana insists on one arm, Toros will also kindly draw back from the challenge
=D
Flat-top Friday January 2nd, 2004 7:59:41 AM
Flat-top is on deck with his nose in the wind, "Ahh! What a beautiful day. Captain of the Ship! May I be of some help? I can swab the deck or if you have any Smithing to do, I have black smith before." Flat-top shows her the special horse clips on his hooves. "I made those myself, or maybe I could repair some of you frayed rope? I feel like putting my hands to work."
Paw'caw(ceil) Friday January 2nd, 2004 8:08:00 AM
Paw'caw wakes as her master is about to bellow a swear word. She ruffles her feathers, then flies onto his shoulder, as he head for the upper deck.
Once out side Paw'caw spots the little silver fishes, she flies picking up one fish, then it's up to the crow's nest to eat her breackfast.
Kanchana d20+3=21 d20+3=23 d20+3=21 d20+3=10 d20+7=11 d20+7=17 Friday January 2nd, 2004 3:39:44 PM
Kanchana will rest again and rememorize her Identify spells and the Detect Magic spell. Then she will take the things that are identified and write down all of the items' properties and put that into a small pile. She will always keep the magic items separated from the mundane items. Kanchana makes four more attempts at appraising. She hopes to appraise the rest of the white gems; that look like pearls. Kanchana mixes up two new batches of the identify spell 'brew' and then concentrates and identifies the bracer and the token. Kanchana shows Taric which pile of stuff is what, since he is so kind as to help her with the task of identifying everything.
((OOC: Jim left me know how many pearls are left once Taric and I have finished this round of identifying. Thanks!))
Gecktar Friday January 2nd, 2004 4:07:26 PM
Gecktar appreciate the calm after te storm... He will pray for the chosen of the morning meditating on the deck. Afternoon will be dedicated to training and phisical exercices with anyone who wants...
To Leets : Now we have more time my friend to discuss. If was nterested early in my life with the church but my father never really agree with that and send my in military disciplinary camp to make me a fighter... As last... he failed...
The GossamerWing. (DM Jim) d20+12=15 Friday January 2nd, 2004 4:16:25 PM
Captain Lira looks to Flat-top with a smile. "Ye could help with da riggn...Tylina will show you what ropes to pull into place." He points to a burly looking centaur that is pulling ropes taught and tying them off. She will show you a group of ropes that still need to be tightened.
The cook takes the fish with a smile and heads back below deck with some of the other fish that have been caught. A few hours later she comes back above deck with a large black pot, several bowls and spoons. Inside you find a thick and rich fish soup, one of the large bowls has round rolls in it.
Yondana looks to Toros and smiles at his idea of wrestling. "So...you want to really wrestle?" She looks Toros over and then shrugs her shoulders. "You have a match little taur." She steps off to the side of the ship and strips off her shirt which leaves her standing in her halter and shorts. A couple of buckets of oil are brought up from the galley and layed out for the contestants. Soon Yondana is greased from head to toe, her short hair glistens in the sun and her muscling has been accentuated with the oil. The crew that is eating forms little groups around the combatants, eating while watching the match. Yondana moves in on Toros, anticipating his maneuvers she grabs at him (grapple 15).
Kanchana and Taric will either stay below to do some identification of more items or come above for some time away. Kanchana appraises the last of the fine round gems, that turn out to be pearls as well. Three of them turn out to be worth 100 gold, but the last is appraised to be 680 gold.

Toros d20=14 Friday January 2nd, 2004 6:26:25 PM
With the start of the match, Toros shortly realizes that this will be loong. Facing a real opponent he becomes more careful and calculative, and tries to weight the power of his opponent against his (d20, 14, he also should have some bonuses somewhere around to benefit, 5 from base attack-strength, 4 from improved grapple, 2 from rage). The effect of grease is also not very helpful (-2) but at least he thinks many on the deck will enjoy the match performance. He would not say no to any support from outside too!!
Meanwhile, Toros does not ignore to have a chat with his opponent, while grappling her arms from front: "You are indeed well trained Yondana, this`ll be a tough match. Hope you enjoy it and lets also make the crew enjoy to deserve a good meal!" He will smile all the time and be cheerful, unless things go so tough.
Toros d20=1 d20=13 d20=11 Friday January 2nd, 2004 10:16:02 PM
<<Dear DM, I only rolled one grapple check but, I think you may also expect me to roll all the 4 grapple checks at one time, in case the remaining 3 as follows:1, 13, 11. In addition to 13 and 14 of previous ones. All have +9 bonus. If we will do it one by one, I will roll and role my third turn after receiving your second>>
Kenisha and Domisha Friday January 2nd, 2004 11:07:28 PM
Kenisha laughs as she watches Toros and Yondana wrestle about on the deck. Once she has two bowls of the fish soup and a few of the rolls, she heads back down to where Domisha waits for the meal.
Balls and prisms lie every where and Kenisha makes the children clean up the mess before she gives them the food. She heads back up just long enough to get her own bowl before joining the children for the meal.
They spend much of that time explaining their game to her and laughing together over missed shots.
Flat-top Saturday January 3rd, 2004 9:10:43 AM
Flat-top is a fast to pick on their manner of doing things, he will tighten all the ropes she showed him that was to be done. Now he come across a barrel od frayed ropes, Flat-top goes to get his wooden picks out of his saddle, then get's a bowl of soup and bread. Stands in a corner and starts to mends the rope. He twistes the strands, making little knots. He does this until he has gone aroun the rope once, You cannot see any knots, just a little bump where he has split and mended the ropes. Now he'll eat the soup and watch the wrestling match. He Chheers! and Cheers! But you cannot tell who's he cheering for???
Gecktar Saturday January 3rd, 2004 12:15:59 PM
Gecktar will eat the soup and watch the wrestling match as well as take care of the children if Kenisha and Vurts come to have some vacancy.
Brahmah Saturday January 3rd, 2004 5:25:48 PM
Brahmah stands on deck watching the wrestling match, just shaking his head in disagreement.
Leets Sunday January 4th, 2004 9:51:00 AM
Leets is quite toughtful after the visit of Orto. He remembers of past presents day, when his father would always be missing, gone to fight Minotaurs...
Later, he will gladly celebrate the day with his friends, and talk with Gecktar...
"I see what you mean friend...Although I had a brother and he became the warrior one...He took the place of father when he fell on the battlefield...He became the Stallion of our tribe, and...Well, I had to leave...Anyway, Domi called me at this time. Mother had prepared me for this day. Long after her death I learned that her too was a paladin of Domi...In a way she was a Chosen too I guess...My mentor, who was also an old friend of her, was a Wemic, you see..."
Manangram(ceil) Sunday January 4th, 2004 10:34:35 AM
Managram sit beside his master, listening to his every words, As the dog look into Leets face 'Are you going to eat that last pice of fish in your bowl?'
Vasch Sunday January 4th, 2004 1:59:10 PM
Vasch's head can be seen slightly over the deck level. He has finally gotten use to the movement of the ship and has decided to venture up on the deck to be social.
Kanchana Sunday January 4th, 2004 2:26:11 PM
Once Kanchana has finished this day's identifying and appraising she will make her way on deck and have some food. She will remain nearby the stew pot as she watches the wrestling match.
Gecktar Monday January 5th, 2004 3:45:10 PM
Gecktar will let the day pass talking with other chosen, specialy Leets. "Well for me, the priest that teach me all was named Foath. He was a minotaur like me. I don't have news about him since the fall of Domi and the chaos that rouse after that. Maybe he is thinking of me as a bad boy as I didn't give him news... Or maybe he will be proud of me as a chosen"
The GossamerWing and Wrestling. (DM Jim) d20+12=30 d20+12=26 d20+12=28 d20+12=24 Monday January 5th, 2004 4:28:54 PM
The wrestling match is most entertaining and everyone sits around and watches, well those that are not on duty. Captain Lira makes her way over to Brahmah and taps him lightly on the arm. "Do not worry...I give Yondana more leway then my other crewmembers. She is after all my first mate." She smiles as she watches the match. "I have not seen Yondana lose but once." She goes no further as to who it was that beat her, but she does show interest in the match.
Toros and Yandana circle each other for a few before they come together. Toros gets the upper hand on the first set of grapples. He slowly bends Yondana back, attempting to toss her to the deck. In a total surprise Yondana flips back into him and lifts him up off the deck. Maintaining her grip as Toros struggles to free himself she starts to twirl him. Dropping him to the deck she is soon covering his body with her own and Toros finds that he is unable to move an inch. The match is clearly won by Yondana and she stands back up, offering her hand to Toros. Her eyes sparkle with laughter as she looks to Brahmah with a smile. "Well fought Toros...I just wish that it would have been your captain that would have taken me up on my offer." Taking an offered towl she mops herself off.
Soon the groups break up and people go on about their work on the ship. The next four days go by without event and everyone seems to be having a good time. Captain Lira is more than appreciative of the help that is given to her crew by the Chosen and she also spends time playing around with the children.

Brahmah Monday January 5th, 2004 5:11:53 PM
After the wrestling match, Brahmah approuches Kanchana and Taric, then leads them to the war room. "So, we have identified most of the important items. Work on the necklaces tomorrow, then we'll worry about the axes later. The potions can wait. That's too many potions, not enough pearls." He smiles.
OOC: Jim, what were the mundane items again? Which items are taur-sized, which are not?
Vasch Monday January 5th, 2004 6:44:33 PM
Vasch sits on the deck of the ship eating what stew is left and watching the wrestling match.
Kenisha and Domisha Monday January 5th, 2004 11:55:59 PM
With as much as their game ball bounces around the room; knocking over things and such; Kenisha tries to comvince the kids to roll the ball towards their towers to knock them down.
This goes over well until they realize that the harder they roll the ball the more likely they'll cause prisms from one tower to fly out and knock over another tower; trading one mess for another.
Kenisha sighs and tries her best to keep the mess to one corner of the room. One of the times that Captain Kira's down Kenisha remarks, "You know this game is a good one for hand-eye coordination, but it's so messy to clean up afterwards."
Toros Tuesday January 6th, 2004 3:22:50 AM
Toros shakes the paw of Yondana as the winner of the match.
Then he finds some time to eat what is left. He is also surprised what he has done, "sometimes I am more than necessarily eager to do wrestling. I cannot stop myself" he thinks to himself.
In the remaining time of the day Toros`s interest turns to weapons. He starts thinking of a weapon that can be used both in the defense and attack of charge. He exchanges some ideas with Brahmah about that (<<in the black genie research center>>), finding his guidance very helpful. To try, Toros has also taken one greataxe and greatsword among the mundane items of the battle, he can return them.
Flat-top Tuesday January 6th, 2004 8:00:09 AM
Flat-top has taken a piece of rope, taking the hemp apart, then weaving it into a basket (with no bottom). When he was finish this little basket, he attaches it to a post.
"Now! my little ones, I will show you a game, Yes! A New game. You stand right here (flat-top draws a line on the floor. And you throw the ball into the basket. Then the next taur will try to put her ball into the basket. The one that make it into the basket more times is the winner. Want to try?" As the children tries to make the ball into the basket, which they also hit the others on the head, bookshelves, beds, Paw'caw indoor nest and Managram three times.
Flat-top straitend up and turns to face Kenisha with her hands on her hip (or as close to hips as a Centaur can have), with a silly smile on his face, "I suppose that you don't like this game either?"
Leets Tuesday January 6th, 2004 8:46:29 AM
The Centaur paladin will gladly spend much of his time with Gecktar. He's glad to have another clergymen of Domi by his side, and moreover somebody who has common points with him in his past...
"I also see what you mean about your master...I haven't seen mine since Domi called me to join the Chosen...I've been wondering about this but...Do you think there could be other groups of Chosen, working elsewhere? I alwaus thought that mother and master Astachos were some kind of Chosen...It would mean that the quest began far before us...And could end far after us...It makes me feel more humble to know that we are only bringing bricks to the building..."
"Those children Domi sent...I feel like they could follow us in our task. And maybe they will see the end..."
Kanchana d20+7=22 d20+7=17 Tuesday January 6th, 2004 11:26:58 AM
Kanchana will clean the dishes that she has used and then go below deck to identify two more items. She make two batches of the brew needed to identify items. Kanchana drinks the first mixture and then concentrates. Followed shoertly by the second batch and more concentrating. She works on the two 'necklaces' like Brahmah suggested.
(concentration (identify) 22 & 17)
Gecktar Tuesday January 6th, 2004 3:32:36 PM
As the time passes, Gecktar determines if any of the chosen has any need in healing... He will cast any spell needed and take time to talk with Leets. "Yes, you're right my friend, these children are a new hope for the Taurs, and I pray Domi that they will see the reunited races..."
OOC : let me know if your character has any need for healing !
The GossamerWing. (DM Jim) Tuesday January 6th, 2004 5:05:14 PM
It is not long and the docks of Hearthold Keep come into view. The twin lookouts yell out before anyone else that they are nearing land. The small ship slows as it draws in nearer and several flags are soon flying from one of the ropes. Captain Lira puts the ship in the capable hands of one of her ladies and then makes her way down on deck. She comes to stand near Brahmah and any others that are watching the docks approach. "Must feel good to be home...but be careful...all that was done at Castle Violet will spread fast." With a glance around she sighs and then goes to getting things ready for anchor.
Getting to the docks the ship is soon docked and some of the crew start to unload some cargo. This was part of Captain Lira suggestion to provide a distraction in case of trouble. She takes Brahmah's hand and shakes it as she does each of the other Chosen. "Take care...sail with us again ye must." She goes back to overseeing the unloading of the rest of the cargo.
The Chosen slip easily into the crowd and disappear as everyone is interested in the work of loading and unloading cargo. Now to an inn to settle in and do a little scouting or where to go?
[Went back and did some checking. Missed some magical items that you had. Sorry about that.]
Brahmah Tuesday January 6th, 2004 5:46:57 PM
Brahmah shakes the Captains hand. "It was nice traveling with such a good crew. We will look us up when your in town again."
He packs and moves on shore and waits for the Chosen to gather. "We need to hurry. We should staight for the Keep."
Flat-top Tuesday January 6th, 2004 6:56:48 PM
Flat-top approches the Captain Lira, "This was the best ship I ever has the pleasure of sailing. And Yes I think your right, Some of the wrong Taurs will be looking not so much us, but theNew breed of Taurs. But Captain do not be a stranger, come back and bring your wares, and if we need another Ship. We'll send word to you and your crew. I hope you stay a few days before you have to go. I hope you have calm waters and a swift wind in your sails." Then flat top follows the other into town then on the path to Heart keep and home.
Kenisha Tuesday January 6th, 2004 10:08:16 PM
Kenisha thanks Lira as well as she and Domisha make their way off the ship.
When Brahmah says that they should head right to the keep, Kenisha agrees. "I'll be nice to be home again."
Leets Wednesday January 7th, 2004 12:48:09 AM
"We'll see what the next days will bring to us...Maybe more hope..."
"Anyway Gecktar, we'll perhaps some time to rest...Here is finally the Hearthold Keep...Our home..."
Leets will preparre his backpack quickly, and join Brahmah and his other friends.
"Captain, I would like to get equiped as soon as possible...I lost most of my battle equipment during this journey and I fear troubles to come even here..."
Paw'caw(ceil) Wednesday January 7th, 2004 7:35:24 AM
Paw'caw is purch on one of the Mast, watching her master as he head for land. She jump up into the air, head for Brahmah's padded shoulder. She looks at him, then around the small fishing village, then back at Brahmah as if to say *Where for me?*
Managram(ceil) Wednesday January 7th, 2004 7:43:34 AM
Managram watches the Taurs leave the ship one by one, all of a sudden he notices that Leets is no longer next to him. *Oh! My master is in trouble, must find him.* So he Blinks *blink* and is walking next to Leets again.
Toros d20=13 d20=16 Wednesday January 7th, 2004 8:38:50 AM
Toros says also goodbye, wishes the best and to meet with the crew in a future time. He starts following the other Chosen and tries to give a hand where needed.
Knowing that they are now very close to the Hearthold Keep gives him a delayed burst of various feelings that are for now hard to express. Instinctively he searches his surroundings. (listen and spot check)
Vasch Wednesday January 7th, 2004 10:49:59 AM
Glad to have his feet back on dry land, Vasch steps off the ship. His soul weary from the trials of the past several months; he looks with a refreshed sense of purpose as he looks on Hearthold Keep. "Thanks be to Tomi." He says his eyes pan the entire structure.
Gecktar Wednesday January 7th, 2004 2:58:38 PM
Gecktar greets Lira and thanks the crew for the pleasant trip they made. But as soon as they put their feet on the firm ground he is more alert and gather around Brahmah to go straight to the Keep. He has never seen it and feels nervous. He is going to his new home...
Hearthold Keep. (DM Jim) Wednesday January 7th, 2004 7:31:32 PM
Many of the people that you pass on your way to the keep are glad to see you. You notice that some gravitate towards the other side of the street from you. Some of them throw you smiles and wave, as others sign themselves against evil.
Once at Hearthold Keep itself you find that those inside are more than happy to see you. Beds are prepared along with meals for those that are tired and humgry.
[This would be a good time to start buying equipment. You can also start looking at getting me updated character sheets as well.]
Kanchana Thursday January 8th, 2004 2:04:14 AM
Answer to previous DM post: Kanchana gathers up all of the treasure keeping it all separated into magical non-identified, magical identified and mundane treasure. She thanks the Captain and crew for the passage to Hearthold Keep and hurries off of the ship.
Answer to current DM post: Kanchana follows the the other Chosen to the Keep. She will return any waves the crowd gives her, and she smiles as well. Kanchana wants people to keep faith in them and to not think that the Chosen are demons or something. Any worries Kanchana has about the Taurs here making signs of warding are kept well hidden. Kanchana will take the treasure somewhere safe to be kept until it can be divided, or sold. Then she will get something to eat and then finally get some rest; unless a meeting is called.
Brahmah(OOC) Thursday January 8th, 2004 2:22:14 AM
I emailed you all with suggestions to do with the loot, let me know, I'll go to the Catacombs with the loot.
Kenisha Thursday January 8th, 2004 6:28:27 AM
It shocks and saddens Kenisha's heart to see Taurs behaving like this on this of all the Isles. All who came here did so out of a desire to see all the Taur races live in peace and harmony. To make Domi's dream of a united people come true.
'How can they treat these innocent children so?' her soul cried out in thought.
Outwardly she smiles and waves to those who are friendly. To those who ward themselves with signs against evil, she returns the same gesture aimed at them.
'Ha! Let's give them something to think about.'
But always she keeps an eye on Domisha to make sure she doesn't get lost on the way to the Keep.
Flat-top Thursday January 8th, 2004 7:38:55 AM
As they arrive at the Keep'S MAIN Door. "Come one and all taurs. all are welcome." Flat-top opens the doors, enters the entry hall, then approches the big Main Doors. Opening these doors, You enter a almost a semi circle, there are another set of double door ahead of you and another set of double door to the Right side and Left side of the room,
"These doors ahead of you is the Alter of Domi. Here is where we worship our Gods and of course also used as a Schooling room for the Little taurs on the island to learn their A - B - C's. To the right is where we have plants and Gym to keep in shape, Kanchana you'll love that room." Then Flat top head west(or left) and opens the door to a long hallway with five or six doors on both sides(that's ten to twelves rooms) "This is where we have our own room, Those who never been here before will chose any room that fits your needs, except the rooms that are next to these double doors, these room are for the Fighters. That's if we have an invasion, we will be the first ones to meet the enermy. My stall is right here (he points to one of the second doors" The leader uses the number one door." Then Flat top opens the second door and puts his gear into his room.
Flat-top head west, through the arches into a big round room, "And here is the dinning room and meeting room. We usaly have one meeting a day. Loving Staff We are home! What to EAT!" Flat-top proceds to the Left archway and into the kitchen.
Toros d20=7 Thursday January 8th, 2004 9:35:03 AM
Toros feels like being, moving, watching in and out of a dream beside reality. He leaves himself to the ongoing of events and people, comprehending much more of "how it is to be a Chosen". There is a lot to get to get. He has only heart the Hearthold Keep in the stories (?, d20, 7)
Leets Thursday January 8th, 2004 11:44:46 AM
As Leets touches the ground, he smiles and call for Managarm.
"Oh! Here you are my dog! Go and run if you want, you're free here!"
When Leets see some people make signs against evil, he puts a friendly hand on Kenisha's shoulder...
"Look at the others instead of the ones who are afraid...We've met none who were happy to see those babies before..."
"Maybe not all hope is lost..." Smiles the Centaur paladin.
When reaching the great portal of the Hearthold, Leets whispers a quiet prier to Domi.
"And now, let's see what's new in the weapons room...Gecktar, will you come? Flat-Top? I may need your advices..."
Gecktar Thursday January 8th, 2004 2:39:06 PM
Gecktar discover the Hearthold Keep under the tuition of Flat-Top. "Thanks Flat-Top for the presentation. I will take the first unoccupied room." Gecktar enter his new room and drop all is weapons and armor just keeping the hammer of Domi with him. He will then visit the entire Hearthold Keep

Flat-top Thursday January 8th, 2004 11:18:06 PM
Flat-top comes out of the kitchen with apples in his arms, "Here girls have an apple. Uncle Flat-top has to go with Uncle Brahmah." Flat-top smiles, Come with me UNCLE Brahmah, we have to go to the East wing, and down to the barracks, the armory, blacksmit shop and meet your guards. Some are human and some are assorted Taurs. But they'll be glad to meet you
So Flat-top tells the Minotaur Mother and her special charge. "Take any room for you and this beautiful Little one. Near the kitchen, Your our guest for as long as you want to stay here."
"Alright! UNCLE Brahmah, This way." Flat-top crosses the hall, letting the school Taurs go home after their lesson. If you look inside the clerics are putting away the books and yell at the both of you "Hail! Chosens". After waving at them You push on to the Double doors on the east side, as you open the door You see a door on thr north side of the wall of plantes Flower plantes, hearbal plantes, Even plantes unknown to them. "Brahmah! that door on the north wall. goes to the Look out on top of the HeartKeep.
The Door you want for now is the one on the south side. That's the one that leads to the defence of the keep." But before the bouth of you go down to meet your guards. You look through the arches and see well equipt gym.
Hearthold Keep. (DM Jim) Thursday January 8th, 2004 11:26:06 PM
The keep is cared for as well as the small staff can possibly do. Still much of it is in disarray and needing a little tidying.
The smithy has not been used in a long time and will need some major work to get back into running order. The armor is just as bad, though the weapons/armors show only slight traces of rust. The gardens are not as well taken care of as needed, weeds grow in many places and dead plants need to be removed.
She is still a sound piece of stone architecture, though in need of some mnor repairs herself to keep her in good standing.
The only place in the keep that seems to be well cared for are the kitchen and the temple. The rooms that you have to choose from are slightly musty smelling and none too clean. They show the passage of time with noone using them keenly.
[Please disregard my earlier post of streets and the like. I just found out that there is not town or even small village here. Not even a few farms it would seem.]

The Captain of the Chosen will start asking around for help to clean the Keep. The Chosen and Hearthold Keep need a couple of basic workers, Brahmah will send out fliers and tack up notes stating the following...
We, the Chosen of Domi and Hearthold Keep, need an armoror, weaponsmith, blacksmith, cooks, grounds keepers, coopers, skillful craftsmen and able bodied males and females of any race able to wield basic weapons for gaurds and sentries. Brahmah busies himself with finding anyone able to help with the Keep.
Brahmah Friday January 9th, 2004 3:44:36 AM
After the Keep is representable, he'll send for the clergy of Domi to gather in Council, concerning the Children.
Brahmah(Jay B) Friday January 9th, 2004 4:00:08 AM
OOC: I think with the issues at hand, the Keep is definately Brahmah's priority. Once we get the loot settled, Brahmah will hire hirelings for the Keep. How many rooms and space is there in the Keep and surrounding countryside? I want to build a work force for the Keep.
Flat-top Friday January 9th, 2004 9:18:55 AM
"Hmm! I guess We were gone longer than I though! I'll start the forge to see what repairs has to be done to it. When that is done then I'll stast repairing the weapons and armor." Flat top start to look over the forge and bellows, The bellows is in good order but the forge need a little repair, then We'll be set to go.
Flat-top takes his shirt off and start to repair the forge, he will also start a fire so to melt some iron. He will work in the Black smith shop untill every thing is perfict.
He ask himself'I wonder why most of the staff left??'
Kenisha and Domisha d20+4=22 d20+2=4 Friday January 9th, 2004 3:55:01 PM
Kenisha is shocked at the state of the Keep. "We weren't gone that long... were we?" Keeping her daughter close, Kenisha goes to look for the staff and to take inventory of what needs to be done to bring the Keep back up to snuff.
(Spot check=22; Listen check=4)
Vasch Friday January 9th, 2004 6:20:29 PM
Vasch takes the time to wander Hearthold. Looking around his spirits are lifted by being here, but it appears that a lot more work.
Gecktar Friday January 9th, 2004 6:24:29 PM
First Gecktar goes to the temple and address some paryers to Domi. When he feels that its enough he will join the other to try to refresh the Hearthold keep
Kanchana Friday January 9th, 2004 8:37:04 PM
Kanchana tidies up her room and opens the window to get some fresh air in. (She will take a room near the end of the hall; fatherest away from the fighter rooms.) Once Kanchana finishes with her room she will start to work tending the plants. She will begin with the herb garden, pruning, watering, weeding and removing dead plants. Then she will move on to any potted plants and finally onto the larger garden area itself.
Leets Sunday January 11th, 2004 9:51:31 AM
Leets also wonder for how long the group left the Hearthold Keep...
"I thought there would be more people remaining here...There were some fishermen before..."
"Oh! The sacred chamber! We've to clean it, it must be all dirty and there could even be creepy things there! I just cannot imagine that!"
Leets will go to the sacred room where the Reunited Heart is kept, and will begin to clean it...
Vasch Sunday January 11th, 2004 12:18:21 PM
Vasch wanders the keep for most of the day. Mostly getting his bearings of the place. Later that evening when evening meal after served, Vasch approaches Brahmah. "Hearthold is a wonder, Brahmah, but..." Vasch pauses trying to find the right words. "It isn't quite what I had expected. I guess, by everyone's words, I expected a man keep. And in light of what's behind us, I'm a little worried..." He pauses again, "Word of the mixed-births must have spread through much of the isles by now, and...I'm afraid that should they come Hearthold'll not protect them."
Toros d20=11 d20=2 Monday January 12th, 2004 9:36:31 AM
Having settled down, choosing a proper room, and visiting in and out the Keep Toros will spend most of his time in the blacksmith, helping Flat-Top and practicing different kinds of weapons. He will also try to familirize himself with his new environment. As he does not know its past, Toros is not that much affected with the current situation in the Hold, although he definitely understands the concerns of his friends.
(d20 checks for spot and search around)
Hearthold Keep. (DM Jim) Monday January 12th, 2004 10:05:06 PM
Brahmah sends out little advertisements to see if he can get people to come and help out at the keep. He finds that getting the word further out would be better for them or not depending on how bad things are.
The other Chosen spend there days cleaning and repairing the keep. They get some help from those that are still there and not afraid of The Chosen. You notice that a few people have disappeared and not returned.
It also becomes obviously clear that any hiring of help will have to come from The Chosen's pockets.
Flat-top (DM Jim) Monday January 12th, 2004 10:09:47 PM
Flat-top continues his work in the forge area getting it cleaned up as best he can. Moving down some stones and masonry mortar, he makes some minor repairs. He soon has the forge going, even makes a few shoes and nails to test things out.
The only conclusion that he can come to about the missing people is that word spreads fast...very fast.
[As DM I have made this post for Ceil as you all should have heard the news about her. I will be looking for someone to play the part of Flat-top for awhile. If noone is interested in doing this please let me know as Cayzle has offered to take care of it.]
Brahmah Monday January 12th, 2004 11:35:31 PM
Brahmah continues his pursuit of hirelings and even followers of Domi. He'll do what is needed to find help. He'll make quiet inquiries of rumored 'mixed' children too. He will go as far as he can to find them.
(OOC: I expect to run into a few people who are less than enthuised to be talking to a Chosen, let alone the Leader of the Chosen.)
Brahmah(Jay B) Tuesday January 13th, 2004 12:01:51 AM
OOC: I'll play Flat-top.
Brahmah Tuesday January 13th, 2004 1:10:37 AM
Brahmah, at some point, askes Kenisha if she would identify the scrolls the party acquired in the loot.
Taric Tuesday January 13th, 2004 2:29:45 AM
Taric will take a room not too close to the entrance, but not too far away either. He then looks wherever his help is needed, especially where his writing skills and bookkeeping experience might come in handy. He realizes just as the others that Hearthold Keep needs to be in top shape fast to have any chance of defending it against the unknown dangers that awaited them.
Kenisha Tuesday January 13th, 2004 6:22:42 AM
Brahmah finds Kenisha weeping over a freshly dug grave. A plain wooden plank reads Minisha and a date. The date is the same as the day Domisha was born.
Finally noticing her friend, Kenisha sniffs away her tears long enough to say, "One of the few servants still here said she collapsed suddenly but then smiled and said, "It is begun." before dying."
Noticing the scolls in his hands she asks what he needs. He asks her to read the scrolls so that they can be sold or distributed to the Chosen appropriately.
Rising back up onto her hooves she wipes her eyes. "Of course. Give me a moment." After collenting herself she draws upon her magical powers and casts Read Magic. She reads over the scrolls to determine their nature and the spells they carry.
(ooc-DM Jim, you'll have to let me know how many times she has to cast Read Magic to go through all the scrolls (the duration is only 1 minute))
Vasch Tuesday January 13th, 2004 8:14:24 AM
Vasch does what he can to help around Hearthold, but he doesn't have any skills that are of any use. He will eventually just ask one of the others if they need assistance with manual labor.
He works hard, but in light of all the help leaving he is having difficulty staying focused. He always has his gear close by as he works.
In the evenings, Vasch sleeps early and spends the nights moving about the parapets keeping watch.
Leets Tuesday January 13th, 2004 2:25:47 PM
Meeting Kenisha, Leets shares her pain for a moment...
"I'm sorry for your aunt Kenisha...It was such a nice person...We all know she's by Domi's side now, because she helped us... her way..."
"Sleep well, aunt Minisha...We'll miss you..."
After some prayers, Leets trots around the Keep, and comes back to meet Flat-Top...
"I've seen a couple of sheeps around the castle...But now they are free and need to be gathered and led in a safe place for the night...I'll try to do it before the night, with Managarm's help it can be done quickly..."
Leets will leave with a simple staff and will call Managarm. He'll gather any domestic animal he finds around the keep where they used to be kept...(Leets has Profession: Herdsman, do you want a roll?)
Kanchana d20+5=12 d20+4=21 d20=17 Tuesday January 13th, 2004 2:39:14 PM
Kanchana will continue with any gardening that needs to be done. She will also do any leatherworking that needs to be done and any carving. If it is necessary Kanchana will help out with the cooking in the evenings. She will not be looking for any hired help for gardening; unless they volunteer to help.
Gecktar Tuesday January 13th, 2004 3:19:14 PM
Gecktar will gives a hand to attend the temple. putting some flowers here or there. He will do an office for those who want
Toros Tuesday January 13th, 2004 7:55:37 PM
Toros will provide all the help he can when needed. He will also have some time together with Domisha and other children around. He will not forget his clergy responsibilities. and daily spell preparation, too.
Hearthold Keep. (DM Jim) Tuesday January 13th, 2004 9:39:17 PM
Brahmah is able to hire on four new laborers that are willing to work for The Chosen. Things are starting to come along nicely around the keep and you know have a comfortable little supply of vegetable type food supplies.
Leets heads out into the surrounding country side with Managarm. The find two wild goats and six wild sheep that will need to be rounded up. With the help of his companion he has them rounded up within a little over half a day. The problem is when he gets back with them and there is no pen for them to go in.
Kenisha spends most of her day next to a grave sending out prayers for Minisha. The others leave her alone for most of that day knowing that she needs time to grieve. Finally Brahmah comes to her with the scrolls they found earlier and asks her to identify them. He knows it will help get her mind off of things for awhile and give her something to do.
Brahmah Tuesday January 13th, 2004 10:12:27 PM
OOC: Does any caster want the scrolls? There is one scroll for arcane and one scroll for divine.
Taric Wednesday January 14th, 2004 12:56:44 AM
Taric goes over to Kenisha and asks her if he might borrow her spellbook so he can write a more offensive spell into his spellbook. Particularly the one which calls upon a number of magically conjured missiles would be one he could use.
OOC: Is it two scrolls total or six scrolls? Taric would like the "Break Enchantment" scroll since he is often in a more supportive position, thus he will be able to cast it more easily.
Kenisha Wednesday January 14th, 2004 1:43:11 AM
Kenisha thanks Leets for his kind words and once she's is done with the scrolls she finds Domisha and makes sure she's settled into a room near her own (Unless Kenisha's room is big enough for the two of them in which case she makes sure her room is rearranged properly).
(OOC- Taric: Kenisha is a Sorceress, no spellbook, sorry.)
Brahmah Wednesday January 14th, 2004 2:56:35 AM
OOC: Taric, there are only two scrolls, three spells each on each, six spells total.
Leets Wednesday January 14th, 2004 3:31:51 AM
Leets will either try to find aplace where to put the animals for the night, or will place them in one of the room of the keep that has not be cleaned yet - a temporary solution before something is built outside...
Pah'caw Wednesday January 14th, 2004 4:05:25 AM
(I'm posting for Pah'caw because Ceil is out.) Pah'caw will find somewhere near the grotto or backyard to perch and keep watch. She'll often fly off to fish or hunt.
Brahmah Wednesday January 14th, 2004 4:36:19 AM
Brahmah introduces the Chosen and hired folk to each other and asks the hirelings to chose their rooms (for now, he lets them have the rooms they would like). He suggests the Commons or barracks to them.
Brahmah choses the East Wing, first room on the left, closest to the Heart Chamber, for himself. Once in a while, Brahmah can be seen practicing and excercising in the yard or on a fixed up fighting dummy in the training areas.
He lacks in standard handy-craft skills(tattooes don't count), but he'll show the hired folk some fighting techniques and even ask them to show him what they might know, if anything. He's keen on learning about them.
He will go to Vrurt and Kenisha and ask them where the Children are sleeping or staying.
He'll continue to send word out for more hires, using one of the recent hires as a runner or errand boy. If no one is willing to go, Brahmah will go himself, again. He(Brahmah) comes and goes frequently.
Vasch Wednesday January 14th, 2004 2:50:01 PM
Vasch is releaved that some here are willing to work for them. He still feels some tension over the defenses, or lack there of, of the keep.
Vasch will take time to give Kenisha a comforting word the best he can. He knows it is not much but it is all he knows to do.
Vasch continues his work during the day and his vigil at night. He assists as much as he can all over. He works with a purpose.
Gecktar Wednesday January 14th, 2004 3:26:19 PM
Gecktar helps a much as he can to refresh the Hearthold Keep not disdaining to take the broom or help in manual work. Thinking about that, he adress one more time a prayer to Domi. Courage in not found only during battles and even such tasks reveals courage.
Hearthold Keep. (DM Jim) Wednesday January 14th, 2004 7:48:07 PM
Besides the original four people that were at the keep when The Chosen got back, you have been able to hire on two more. Seems that the rumors have been keeping people away.
Leets is able to get the animals into one of the rooms closest to the way out. He figures that they can get a pen set up in a few hours, if he can find some more help.
The rebuilding and upgrading continues but is growing slower as more sources of supplies need to be found. It is unknown as of yet if the harbormaster can get any supplies to be delivered for the keep even.
[Original people at he keep: Michael (young liontaur, male, cook) Ginal (centaur, female, priestess) Dunin (human, male, harbormaster) Veria (minotaur, female, smith/armorer)
[New hirelings at the keep: Lonia (human, female, maid) Trinl (minotaur, male, fighter) Upthel (centaur, male, fighter)
Toros Wednesday January 14th, 2004 11:50:42 PM
Toros will also try to share the pain of Kenisha, trying to make her feel a bit better by making some jokes about the children.
He will help Leets for whatever he tells him to do.
Also, he will meet with the other, new and old members of the keep
Brahmah Thursday January 15th, 2004 2:59:46 AM
Brahmah will talk with the harbormaster to find out what will be needed for all of the repairs. If we need to raise or be billed for the supplies, Brahmah will foot the bill. Brahmah makes a point of knowing the fighters skills, and if they need certain weapons.
OOC: Charge Brahmah for the repairs. Post it in your next post.
Leets Thursday January 15th, 2004 3:52:25 AM
"Oh Toros! Great!"
"We'll see what we can find to built a pen for those ones...I think we've seen ruined wood buildings on our way, we can try to find things tha are usable there..."
"Do you have another idea?"
Brahmah Thursday January 15th, 2004 4:32:15 AM
The minotaur broods for sometime, then goes to Kenisha. "Kenisha, I... oh yes hello little Domisha... I was thinking it might be best... no, I can't play blocks now my wee-dear, Uncle's very busy... best if we keep most of the loot from the battles to help supply the Keep. It would save time and gold. Domisha dearest, stop poking me..." "What do you think?"
Kenisha and Domisha Thursday January 15th, 2004 6:30:08 AM
For the first time since finding her beloved aunt's grave, a twinkle of merriment is present in Kenisha's eyes as she fights to hold in the giggle at Brahmah's predicament.
"Well the arrows, weapons and armor can be of use to the two fighters you've hired certainly. Most of the other mundane stuff can also be of use around here.... Domisha honey? Come here one of your braids is undone."
Kenisha winks at Brahmah as she unbraids a perfectly good braid on the back of Domisha's head and slowly redoes it. Domisha figets and is itching to be running around again in the room.
"I guess I don't see why we couldn't just keep the loot as is, but I know we've gone through alot of the pearls the party had and other things of that nature. I think it might be best to find out what we need to replace as well as keep."
Kanchana Thursday January 15th, 2004 7:03:46 AM
Kanchana collects her gear out of the room and moves it all out into the garden. She pitches her tent and places it all in there for safe keeping. As she works with this she thinks, "I might as well stay out here. I will not be done with this work for awhile yet. Besides that room was beginning to feel small..." Kanchana laughs to herself and mumbles, "you have been on the road for too long." After this Kanchana begins work on the vegetable garden and the herb garden. If she has any seeds collected from her travels then she will plant them in the appropriate garden, and tend to them as well.
Brahmah calls a meeting in the Heart Chamber Thursday January 15th, 2004 7:07:32 AM
He calls only the Chosen to the meeting. "It has come to my attention, that perhaps I have jumped to conclusions. I know several of you are in need of funds and feel that I'm making decisions about your portions of the cut without your knowledge. I didn't intend that to be the case. I want us all to be in agreement."
He sets the loot on the floor. "This is how I thought it was to be divided."
"I'm thinking that now we should sell, divide and then puchase what we want from the Catacombs. Suggestions? I didn't want this to become a bad situation, again, I'm sorry." Brahmah backs away from the pile and opens the floor for discussion.
Kanchana Thursday January 15th, 2004 7:57:57 AM
Kanchana enters the meeting room and listens to Brahmah. When he finishes she asks for a moment to make some comments. "I suggest that we take and add an extra "person" - that would be keep funds - when we split the sums. So instead of nine there would be ten."
"The healing wands need to be sorted out. I will take one if we all agree. I would like to know who all can use a wand of healing though. The more people with a means to heal will make it easier for all us to remain in good health if we look out for each other."
Kanchana looks over the treasure, "I would like the Bracers of Armor if I may. I do have a crossbow, so the bolts might come in handy. Does anyone else use a crossbow?"
She thinks about a few things, "would the divine scroll be a good thing to give to either Gecktar or Leets? Gargul 'told' me that we would be in need of healing items..."
Next she looks over the mundane weapons, "the Taur weapons could be part of the keep's cache in case of defense."
Kanchana takes a breather so no one thinks that she breathes out of her ears. "I agree with the keeping of the healers kits, spell component pouches, tindertwigs and antitoxins. I need one healer kit and one spell component pouch; mine are getting low. I suspect that there are others who might need something of sort as well. Shouldnt we keep some of the rations as well just in case? Anyway that is my input."
Kanchana checks out the unidentified treasure, "maybe we should look into getting more pearls or find out exactly what the Catacombs will charge for identifying all this. If we sell it without getting it identified it will be worth next to nothing. There might be healing potions there as well."
Vasch Thursday January 15th, 2004 11:05:05 AM
Vasch stands in the chamber with the others looking over the piles of things gained. "I'd like one of the big bows and some of them arrows for it." He says his arms crossed. "As far as the things we've figured out, I'd like to know about the stuff we don't 'bout. A little better armored is always nice, but I'd prefer Leets, Flat-top or the Captain to be standin' in front of me. The rest of the stuff can be sold or stored as decided."
Gecktar Thursday January 15th, 2004 3:55:05 PM
"I agree with the proposal of Kanchana. I intend to make the same suggestion. I will keep a battle axe of taur size and the divine scroll as Gargul effectively warn us. Of course if everybody agree. For my loot, as a new chosen I will only take half of it an then give the second half for the Hearthold keep."
Kenisha Thursday January 15th, 2004 11:13:33 PM
Kenisha nods at Kanchana's suggestion of getting more pearls. "I'm almost certain that they will charge extra if we have to have the Catacombs identify those items and potions. As to the rations, I say we keep those, very useful when we travel."
"Since nothing else appeals to me, I wouldn't mind taking either the grey bag or the magical gem. But not both. And certainly not without a better idea of what they do or cost. That gem could be worth more to the group as capital than it's magical ability."
(ooc- Does Alchemy allow you to identify potions in 3.5? I can't remember and don't have my PHB at hand.)
Brahmah (Jay B) Thursday January 15th, 2004 11:58:55 PM
OOC: Alchemy is now a craft, not a skill. However! a Spellcraft check, DC 25, requiring 1 minute, identifies a potion. No retry.
Taric Friday January 16th, 2004 12:27:15 AM
Taric nods at all the suggestions. He especially agrees with getting more pearls to do some more identifying. He would be glad to help out with identifying anything, but since he doesn't have much experience with potions, he is not sure if he should be doing that part.
Hearthold Keep. (DM Jim) Friday January 16th, 2004 7:19:47 PM
The repairs continue on the keep as far as they can go without supplies. Some left behind timbering makes for the construction of a pen for the animals.
Brahmah talks to Dunin, the harbormaster, about what kind of supplies will be needed and to see about getting some. Dunin agrees to the plan and goes to set up some supply drops to the keep. He lets you know that it may take some time and he is not sure about prices.
Talks over the loot and repairs to the keep are brought before the whole group. It is agreed that they need to come to a decision about what to do.
Can Fight and Ability Ginal (can fight and heal, moderate fighter) Dunin (can fight, high fighter) Veria (can fight, moderate fighter) Trinl (can fight, low fighter) Upthel (can fight, low fighter)
Toros Saturday January 17th, 2004 1:53:03 AM
"Leets, Lets follow your idea" says Toros, warmly smiling at him :-) "You know in my normal life the place I came is famous with its goats but I almost know nothing about them except songs and stories which tell about them, in some of them they are the main actors to give lessons to Taur and human!! If you want I can tell a story on our way"
<< Dear DM I have sent two letters to you. One asks Jerry and you about the prestige classes. Second one is sent to the whole group of Chosen, as a reply to what we should do about the loot. Could you please send your valuable comments about them; but it is not urgent, take your time :-)>>
<<I have preferred to wait for all to choose what s/he wants from the loot, as for most of them I was not together with the party at that time. For the hero points and comments about role playing I also think to wait for others comments first.>>
Toros will give the greataxe he holds to one of the fighters who would need one as a present for entering the group. From the magical items if he can use he would like to take the "amulet of natural armor". He thinks it will strenghten his defenses, especially when he rages and charge for grappling opponents. As he is also a cleric he can also use the magical items related with divine magic, when necessary.
Leets d20+3=20 Saturday January 17th, 2004 10:06:15 AM
"I would like to keep one of the chainmails too captain! I would really need it!"
"Toros i've had some ideas to build the pen from what I remember when I was in my tribe and used to keep sheeps...We'll see that tomorrow with the sunshine. I'll show you what I've gethered and what we could try to do with it...And all your ideas are welcome, I'm not a professional at this..."
OOC: rolled a 20 for profession: herdsman, from what I remember of my CS (don't have it right now...).
Kanchana Sunday January 18th, 2004 3:03:50 PM
Kanchana waits for the meeting to end and for everyone to speak their piece. She simply says; "I have given my suggestions and stated what Items I would like to have." When the meeting ends; and if it isn't too late, Kanchana will go outside and continue her work.
Kenisha Monday January 19th, 2004 6:19:57 AM
(ooc: don't all the Tauric races have better than +1 Natural Armor already? The Amulet is useless to us if they do.)
Kenisha says, "I think those of us who are spellcasters should work together to identify the potions." (ie- whomever has the best spellcraft skill gets to be the lead person and the rest of use just have to make DC 10 to assist. Kenisha's Spellcraft is a 9.)
Brahmah(ooc) Monday January 19th, 2004 7:04:31 AM
OOC: I think Natural armor stacks if it's not from the same source.
Vasch Monday January 19th, 2004 8:32:36 AM
OOC: I believe the amulet is an enhancement bonus to natural armor. It should stack with natural armor of the taurs. That was a change made from 3.0 to 3.5
Kanchana (OOC spellcraft) Monday January 19th, 2004 12:04:08 PM
Kanchana's spellcraft is a 7. Her Craft: Alchemy is a 5 (if it is of any use).
Gecktar Monday January 19th, 2004 3:40:16 PM
When the Chosen are together, Gecktar says "I will give an office to the temple for those wanting to honor Domi. After that I think we must organize to clean the keep and maybe put the premiss of a defense here"
"Oh ! and is the problem of the loot closed ?"
Hearthold Keep. (DM Jim) Monday January 19th, 2004 6:55:42 PM
Much discussion is made over the treasure they have and how to exactly put it to the best use...as well as split it.
The keep is slowly being brought to a cleaner state than it originally was, but it is still slow. The supplies to make the needed repairs for defense is slow as well as Dunin is having little luck finding what they need.
Early the next morning Leets and Toros are out putting together a pen for the goats and sheep. Despite the slow going at first they soon fall into an easier rythm. The pen is soon finsihed and to thier amazement it is sturdy enough to keep the animals in.
[I will be sorting out the Hero Points in an email to everyone soon. Try getting another email together that gives an idea of what everyone is wanting so that we can finalize that, if it has not already been done.]
Brahmah Monday January 19th, 2004 7:47:27 PM
"Okay, the loot stands currently this way. Gecktar, you mentioned battle axes, would that be a mundane or magical? Should all the stuff we were going to sell, instead be used in the Keep? Kanchana, I believe that the crossbow is a human sized weapon, it might be hard to fire straight. Leets, if we keep the rest for the Keep, we might have to find another way to get you a longsword."
Unidentified potion - 24(Group is working to ID them) battleaxe - 2 [Gecktar(1)??] gray bag [Kenisha] gem [Kenisha] arrows - 6
Kanchana (note) Tuesday January 20th, 2004 12:35:58 AM
Kanchana does not want the crossbow because she has her own already. She wants the MW crossbow bolts.
The magical stuff with her name next to it is fine.
You forgot that she requested 1 Healer's kit and 1 Spellcomponent pouch.
Taric Tuesday January 20th, 2004 2:33:38 AM
Taric continues the discussion with Kenisha and Kanchana to see who is best suited to identify the potions, judging on how well they are able to check things out. It seems that Taric would have the best shot at it.
OOC: Loot seems fine to me. Taric has a +14 to spellcraft.
Leets Tuesday January 20th, 2004 3:47:57 AM
"It's ok for the longsword Brahmah...As long as I have my shield and something to throw at Marteau's face, it's ok..."
Flat-top(Jay B) Tuesday January 20th, 2004 4:14:28 AM
Flat-top maintains the forge and it's fires.
Brahmah Tuesday January 20th, 2004 4:19:10 AM
"Oops, sorry Kanchana."

"Waow Leets, we have done amazing" congratulates Toros his friend for the finished pen. When they finish their work he will wear the amulet of natural armor and feel the additional protection spread to his body, thanking his friends to allow him to take this magical item. Then he will help others trying to identify the potions (d20, 11).

(ooc: I'm assuming that we need to roll once for every potion there is; which is 24. So lets have Taric be the lead person. His DC is 25 with an initial skill check of 14. Everyone else has a DC 10. For every successful check be those assisting, Taric's gets a +2 to his skill check. Roll your Spellcraft skill 24 times then list them down here as whethere or not he gets the +2 from you or not. He can then roll last with the appropriate number of extra pluses to his rolls. Sound good?)
Kenisha and the other spellcasters take the potions and move to a room big enough for them to work in together.
potions 1 through 24= +2 cooperation bonus from Kenisha
(ooc: I rolled too many times, so ignore the last two rolls)

OOC:The first one I rolled was 11. And here is the remaining 23 rolls =)
Thus, Toros was able to help Taric for the identification of potions #1, 2, 7, 9, 12, 13, 16, 19, 22, 23.

Rolls 1-6,8, 9, 11-16, 18-24 was successful against DC 10 to assist. Giving Taric a +2 to his Spellcraft check.
Gecktar Tuesday January 20th, 2004 12:37:10 PM
"Well Brahmah, I'm interested by a mundane battle axe of taur size. The magical one are for the loot. I will also take a spell component pouch (even if I don't know how it works ... :)) as I think I will need one".
As Gecktar cannot help for the potions, he will play with the children if their mother agree so they will be free for something else.
Vasch Tuesday January 20th, 2004 6:00:15 PM
"So what is our next move?" Vasch asks one night during meal-time. "You all have been doing this longer. So we have any ideas on where we go for once Hearthold is ready?"
Brahmah Tuesday January 20th, 2004 6:38:13 PM
"Well Vasch, the plan was to call a council of Domi clergy to the Keep so that we could talk about the Children of mixed races. We all need to understand what they stand for. However, the Keep was in such disrepair, which we didn't expect, that now, if all those come here, it would be embarassing. Beyond the meeting, I want to get this loot figured out very soon."

Flat-top (Jay B) Tuesday January 20th, 2004 6:42:28 PM
Flat-top, after a few hours tinkering in the forge, goes and plays with the children in the courtyard.
Toros Tuesday January 20th, 2004 8:34:44 PM
"Dear Gecktar, as far as I understood, everyone can assist to Taric for identifying the potions. You can help identify the potions of divine magic for instance. But, I might have understood wrong" tells Toros to his friend.
Hearthold Keep. (DM Jim) Tuesday January 20th, 2004 8:49:21 PM
Dunin comes into the keep one day with a angry look upon his face. He looks around and even inquires as to where Brahmah is at. Once he finds him he gets him off to the side so that they can talk. "I am having no luck getting supplies that we need to have brought here." He stamps his foot rather upset as he looks out upon the ocean. "Foodstuffs I can get...there just seems to be noone that will bring us wood or stone of any kind...no matter the price." He lets this sink in as he continues to look out upon the ocean.
The other new servants seem to be getting on along right well with everyone. The fighters have been going through training to sharpen thier skills. As far as cleaning the keep is up to snuff, but the place is not exactly too well furnished. It would be clasified as spartan furnishings, sort of what a monk would have.
Brahmah Wednesday January 21st, 2004 1:31:09 AM
As he talks with Dunin, Brahmah gets upset. However, he's understanding to supply problems. "Dunin, see if you can contact my old Captain on the *name of ship here*. I doubt it, but try. See if he has contacts we can use."
Not having any other idea about what to do, he calls ANOTHER meeting of the Chosen. "We have a problem. Supplies. We need them rebuild and repair and Dunin has done his best. Now we need to call in our favors. Any ideas?"
Flat-top(Jay B) Wednesday January 21st, 2004 1:34:18 AM
"Captain, maybe the Royal Safety Squad I was a member of, can help?"
Taric 24d20(9+11+12+4+7+19+5+12+9+10+10+8+7+12+10+14+18+19+18+18+7+14+12+17)=282 Wednesday January 21st, 2004 2:38:52 AM
Taric starts identifying the potions with the help of Kenisha, Toros and Kanchana.
OOC: since Kenisha got a success on all rolls, the bonus to spellcraft is +16 and then a +0, +2 or +4 depending on the results of Kanchana and Toros.
So, only potions #4 and #7 are not identified. Great job on the bonuses guys :)
Leets Wednesday January 21st, 2004 3:36:06 AM
"Brahmah...The place is quite clean now...We are not inviting kings, but priests. This place is comfortable enough to meet here."
"However, if we need help, maybe I can try to contact my brother. He is...Well...He was the Stallion of our tribe when I left, and although we were not the best friends in the Wold when I left, maybe he would do something..."
Toros Wednesday January 21st, 2004 5:09:10 AM
"Waow, now we have got so many potions to choose from, this is also a problem isn't it. Really good job Taric, and Kenisha & Kanchana, of course."
"Captain, my family members are also tradesmen and own a boat. I do not know for sure how to do that but I can also try to get in touch with them to see what they can do for us. But I think first, asking the help of Captain Lira(?) and her crew seems to be a good idea. They were very nice, when we were on their boat."
Brahmah Wednesday January 21st, 2004 5:20:45 AM
"The potions will be easy. Good job friends!
Leets, get your brother, we could use all the help we can get. Ask him if he might bring us whatever supplies he and the tribe might spare.
No Toros, I mean my Captain I was paying a debt to before I joined the Chosen... when I was a err, uh, a sailor. However, Lira might be able to help too."
Kenisha Wednesday January 21st, 2004 6:29:09 AM
As each potion is identified, Kenisha helps to mark them, make a list and group the vials by type.
After they have finished, Kenisha goes and checks on Domisha. She finds her and Vrurt's child playing with a mouse they have caught in a corner. She shakes her head and tells them, "Take the mouse outside and set it free, it's nap time."
(ooc:does Vrurt's child have a name yet?)
Vasch Wednesday January 21st, 2004 7:55:17 AM
"I don't have any connections that may be useful. When I left I left all ties and connections I may have had." Vasch says.
His facial expressions lift. "What about a hunting party; send a few of us to gather food. In a couple of days we should be able to gather enough for a while. It's at least a start. Specially with some of us heading off to gather assistance."
Vasch (addendum) Wednesday January 21st, 2004 11:38:34 AM
OOC: I thought it was food that was being difficult.
Vasch would instead suggest the Chosen going to get the lumber we need. "It might take longer, but it would at least enable us to rebuild Hearthold."
Gecktar Wednesday January 21st, 2004 2:38:16 PM
"Mmmmmh, bad news... I don't think my family will help as when I left them I was not in the favor of my father... But I think we have some solutions. Lira is a good idea and I will accompany Vasch if we need some lumber of food as well, I have a new axe to use. I hope that we may also convince the clergy"
(OOC : you was right Toros I could have helped for the potions. I was thinking I haven't the skill. And as it's not an inate skill you cannot help if you have not it. But I have it :))
Flat-top Wednesday January 21st, 2004 5:23:29 PM
"Hmmm! Captain, this place is the only home I'll ever know. You see I'm the youngest of my Farther heard, so I'll never have a heard of my own. But Look around you I have all the little taurs, mixed breed or not. I can teach these who want a craft. So all or any prt of the goodies I have comming. I want to put back into Heartkeep.
Some times I think of the Mailhand and I think they still want to fight. I wonder if we should gggo a little way back to out old tricks?? What do you think,Captain?"
Hearthold Keep. (DM Jim) Wednesday January 21st, 2004 7:36:02 PM
Dunin stays around for the new meeting, insisting that he maybe able to help out at least a little. Once with the rest of The Chosen he will fill them in on what he has found out. "I can get us food type supplies brought here...but noone seems to want to send us or should I say The Chosen the stuff they need to rebuild." He takes a seat being the only human present. "I think someone wants you to not be able to fix up the place...but they do not seem bent on starving you out." He listens as the others talk and nods his head several times. "I can have runners go out and see about contacting anyone you want...they may provide support."
Leets and Toros can both testify to the possibility of getting fresh meat from the island. They have seen game birds, small game and even some bigger game. The group can always make dried meat as Michael will point out if asked.
POTIONS CLW Potions (22) The last two look an awful lot like the previous one, in fact they all have the same color in clear vials with cork stoppers.
[Jay - You may name the Old Captain and the ship if you want. This help for better roleplay and player involvement.]
[The same goes for anyone else that wants to do that for something in thier background or want to further develop your background. Anything I do not like I will let you know about but I am very generous.]
Kanchana Wednesday January 21st, 2004 11:08:34 PM
Kanchana listens to the others and does some thinking about her family. "My family would help us, I know. However they do not deal in anything that we need here." She thinks about the suggestions concerning the humans. "Would it be possible to maybe look for re-building supplies on the mainland? Surely the people there do not harbor the same fear and prejudice as on the Isles?"
Toros Wednesday January 21st, 2004 11:50:34 PM
"Hmmm, I also start to wonder who these people that want to prevent our efforts are, and what the motives behind their actions are. Do you think it is only related with the children? Maybe we can try to talk to people in order to understand what is going on. Would the council of the Domi clergy be helpful for this? Or we can go to talk to them, if Dunin may help."
"And yes Kanchana, it is indeed a good idea. My family has regular ties with the mainland. If I can contact with them I believe they can somehow help. Although they sail frequently, as I have not left them for a long time yet I think I know where they might be now, we can reach them. Can we use the bird token from the loot to send message to them?"
Brahmah Thursday January 22nd, 2004 3:27:48 AM
"So, besides the supply situation, have we got the loot settled? This is the final call, I hope. I'm going to the Catacombs with the items we're selling."
Taric Thursday January 22nd, 2004 3:50:59 AM
"These potions will be very useful. Hopefully we won't need them, but with everything that's going on I fear they will all be used sooner or later."
Taric's facial expression is sad, but the lines next to his mouth mark his determined composure. He shakes his head and listens to the ongoing discussions.
"I won't be much help with connections and friends. And I'm not really skilled to haul lumber either, although I don't mind helping. Maybe it's an idea to write down what we need so we have a better idea of what we're looking for. I can be the scribe."
Leets Thursday January 22nd, 2004 4:02:48 AM
"Ok Brahmah, I'll try to get something from my brother Astachos. However, I can't promise anything..."
Leets get some piece of (almost) clean paper, grab a pen and begin to write in Centaur.
'Dearest and only brother Astachos,
It has been a long time. Since Mother left us in fact. I knew I didn't have my place by your side in our tribe, and I prefered to let you lead our warriors as Father always wanted. May his soul find peace. I also know that you probably had troubles understanding why I joined a stranger - a wemic, in his journey. And you would even be more surprised to know that I today share the company of Centaurs, Wemics and even Minotaurs. Your choice was to follow Father's will, and to bring peace to our people by fighting our eternal enemies, the Minotaurs from across the channel. I also fought to bring peace to our people. In another way. I know you thought I would take your Stallion place when the Wemic came and said I was one of the Chosen. That's why I left. But today, brother, me, the Chosen, need your help more than ever. The help of the Stallion of the Talric tribe. We are living terribly important times, that may change the life of every Taur in the Wold, and maybe even more. But to succeed, we need to rebuilt the place of ancient glory called the Hearthold Keep, so that there is a place to gather. We need lumber, we need stone and we need hands. Weapons and fighters too, and I know there are many among our tribesmen. You know it always was Mother's dream, to unite the Taurs. You know Father cannot have fallen for nothing. I beg you, my brother, Stallion of the Talric tribe. Astachos, we need help.
Leets Talric of the Talric tribe, your proud brother.'
Leets will roll the piece of paper, tie it, and give it to Dunin.
"Dunin, if you have runners, maybe they can bring this to my brother. My tribe lives on the coast of Centaur Island, right on the shores of the channel in front of Minotaur Island."
"Tell the one you'll chose to be cautious. It's a dangerous place for many reasons..."
Brahmah Thursday January 22nd, 2004 5:42:53 AM
Brahmah responds to Leets sending the letter. "Yes, Dunin, be cautious. Send a human or a centaur, but let's be smooth about this. There is a war on after all."
Kenisha Thursday January 22nd, 2004 6:10:34 AM
"I haven't spoken to my family in many years. Great Aunt Minisha raised me after I was twelve. She had requested that I stay with her for part of each year before that and had been teaching me the ways of brotherly love towards all Taurs. The last time I saw my father he pretended not to see me." Kenisha says mournfuly. "As much as it pains me, I think Kanchana is right, we are going to have to look to the mainlands for our supplies since the Taurs won't help."
Flat-top Thursday January 22nd, 2004 12:06:50 PM
Flat-top listens To every ones reaction, then turns and speaks "This is a plan from one of our enermies, clever on too. Food is no problem, BUT repairs we cannot get, because of the little one of mixed taurs?? who ever it is is an recent enermy and using the birth of the Unitaurs as a fear factor, and it's working that's what is making me mad. I too will give you a letter to take to my farther or brother who ever is head of the family right now."
Flat-top writes a letter asking for help, he knew that the tribe was very proud whem he excel in the Royal Marine Guard and even prouder when they heard of The Chosen. "Here is my letter they will answer either Yes or No, Our range is next to Leet's heard and they know each other." Flat-top hand the rolled up paper to Dunin, "Be careful! just be careful!"
Gecktar Thursday January 22nd, 2004 2:56:00 PM
"I think we must call humankind for help. I've travelled with some of them. If you give sufficient money, numerous are those that will help. More ! Tell them there is a challenge because it may be dangerous and you'll still find someone. I think we must recruit an architect. He will tell us what to do for the defenses of the keep"
Hearthold Keep. (DM Jim) Thursday January 22nd, 2004 5:22:08 PM
Dunin listens as the others go over their options for getting the help that it needed. He shakes his head as he takes the letters that are handed to him. "I can have a ship take a runner to your tribes...he will get what answers he can." With a bow he leaves the room and heads for the harbor and a ship.
Lonia slips into the room and curtsies to you all as she speaks. "Can I get you some tea and a snack...or maybe you would rather have an actual meal??" She is one of the new hirelings and very shy. Anyone that has gotten her to speak, even a little, will find out that she is an orphan.
Ginal has taken care of the heart chamber since The Chosen left and has even tried to maintain the chapel as best she can. She continues to give guidance as a priestess of Domi. Much to your surprise she has been one of your most staunch supporters.
Flat-top has been spending many hours in the forge and armory with Veria getting things back into shape. Veria has expressed the need to get some metals to be used in the forge, but knows that it is a secondery need.
Trinl and Upthel have poured themselves into their studies of fighting with not only Brahmah but those other Chosen who volunteer. Both have some degree of skill with sword and axe, but it needs to be refined even more.
Michael spends most of his time in the gardens trying to help Kanchana with the many plants. He is most interested in those that can be used in cooking.
All of those that were at the keep when you returned have shown thier loyalty for the past few days. Those that Brahmah has been able to hire have also proven themselves to be open minded and most eager to help.
Brahmah Thursday January 22nd, 2004 8:50:12 PM
Brahmah shakes his head and gets frusterated. "I don't like asking questions more than once, but besides the supply situation, have we got the loot settled? This is the final call, I hope. I'm going to the Catacombs with the items we're selling and NOT keeping."
Vasch Thursday January 22nd, 2004 9:32:15 PM
Brahmah sorry I'll take another score of arrows, but other than that I say sell everything else.
Brahmah Friday January 23rd, 2004 1:20:55 AM
Brahmah writes a letter briefly stating the stituation. 'Captian Morgon, I'm asking you a favor... you know I keep my word, it's my Honor. Signed, Brahmah Captain and Leader of the Chosen of Domi.' "Dunin find out is the cargo ship, 'the Nightengale', has been local this week. It runs the Channel this season, or used to."
Taric Friday January 23rd, 2004 2:57:39 AM
Taric goes to the martial training to see if he can pick up some skills. After watching for a couple of hours he has reminded himself enough of why he has been concentrating on studying more. he approaches Kanchana and asks her is she is using a spellbook or not, since he would really like to copy a spell if she would allow it.
OOC: Yes Brahmah, no problems with the loot from me.
The spell Taric is looking for from Kanchana is 'magic missile'.
Kenisha Friday January 23rd, 2004 4:46:37 AM
(OOC: I'm fine with the loot division.)
Kenisha smiles at Lonia, "I think we'll be fine for the two hours until meal time. Do you need a hand chopping or stirring? I may not be much good in the kitchen but I can help."
In between helping others with their tasks, Kenisha will spend most of her time with the children.
Flat-top Friday January 23rd, 2004 6:00:05 AM
"Captain, sell everything that is not taken and put my share back in the building pot." Then to Kanchana he ask "Please go with the timid one in to the Kitchen and see what is needed in cooking pots, cooking pans, squars and utensils. I know where there is some puter down in the forge." As he smiles at Kanchana, he receives a wooded bowl from one of the little one. *Bong!* "Taric, I know where there is about a dozen empty Books that you have. Gectar and Toros I want to show you the secret passage in back of the Altar". True to his word, Flat-top takes all three Chosen to the back of the alter, but telling the Preistess Ginia what he is about to do, if she wants to watch. Flat-top goes to one of the half pillars and press what look like a crack on it. The floor starts to drop away, making a wide stair way down. Down to the back of the forge where there is a wall that leads out side. On that wall are the books and empty scrolls for the Cleric. "And thiis is our escape rout or entrance to the heart chamber."
Mamagram(ceil) Friday January 23rd, 2004 6:04:53 AM
Mamagram does not know what to do around this strange place, But if he follows Leets he'll always get fed.
Paw'caw(ceil) Friday January 23rd, 2004 6:16:05 AM
Paw'caw watches almost the whole Island from her nest high in the tree. She fishes for her meal, after her meal, She always fish for the lillle Unitaurs. The only thing is she always leave the catch in a diffent place. The staff has to watch that bird or else She stink up the place.
Toros d20=16 Friday January 23rd, 2004 6:36:02 AM
Captain, before you go to the Catacombs,
May I also take the other magical battleaxe although it is not identified yet?
I was also thinking to keep one longbow, 20 masterwork arrows, and 1 chain mail, if it would not be too much to ask.
For the group;
I also suggest keeping the 6 unidentified arrows and Quall's Feather Token, bird. I can also carry one of the CLW or the Strand of Prayer Beads, as a divine spell caster.
We can also equip the new fighters with the remaining items, I suggest asking their ideas as well.
If you would like I may help to carry all the rest and accompany you to the Catacombs. I am thinking of an interesting story about werecats and werebulls. Maybe we can talk about this on the way. =B
When he can find time with the others, Toros will do some training together with the new mighty fighters, making the practice attractive and suitable enough for the children to join or watch.
This will be more focused on using the bare body parts to stop the opponent without giving real damage to him/her. It will continue as long as it needs to. At the end he hopes that he is able to teach them some useful skills (d20, 16).
Gecktar Friday January 23rd, 2004 10:55:30 AM
"Wow !" says Gectar when he shows them the secret passage. "I've always heard of such passage in great castle but I did'nt imagine to find one in a temple of Domi. I think that it will provide a scape if we are besieged. Direct conflict is certainly not the only way to win a battle. It could be more courageous some time to find a secure retreat so causualties may be lowered..." As gecktar follows Flat-Top he is talking aloud what he is thinking about, and the phylosophical explanation of such passage in a temple of Domi...
(OOC : OK for the loot)
Leets Friday January 23rd, 2004 2:58:04 PM
"It's ok for the loot Brahmah, you can go...But try to be cautious...Our ennemy would be so glad to catch our leader alone..."
"So...Managarm! Come with me my dog, we'll see if there is vermin remaining in those walls! And if we have time before dusk, we'll run on the shore and see if you can follow!"
Hearthold Keep. (DM Jim) Friday January 23rd, 2004 5:22:20 PM
Dunin stops at the docks as Brahmah give him the letter that is for his old captian. He nods as he takes it and smiles. "I know the ship well and she still travels that same route." He is soon on board his own ship and sailing away. You know that it will take some time for him to return.
Lonia accepts any help that is offered though she blushes at it. She is most obviously going to be hard to get out of her shell. She just does her chores and other business.
The two fighters are slowly getting better and most helpful in whatever little tasks they are given.
Flat-top finds that Ginal already knows about the secret passage as she maintains the heart chamber. It has been her personal duty since The Chosen left and she takes that very seriously.
Brahmah Friday January 23rd, 2004 6:50:15 PM
"Thank you Dunin."
"Toros, you can have the Magic Battle axe, but you already have the Amulet of Natual Armor too. The other items are needed so that we have some gold on hand. We are done with the loot now."
Brahmah helps in the Keep where he can. He'll take watchs and stand watch too.
Kanchana Saturday January 24th, 2004 12:19:27 AM
Kanchana is more than happy to have Michael's help with the gardens. She tells him what she knows about herbs for cooking and lets him work on the herb garden. She encourages Michael to experiment with the different types of herbs in cooking. Kanchana grins and tells him that sometimes the weirdest combinations are surprisingly good.
************************************************
Kanchana informs Brahmah that the issue of the treasure seems fine to her. She suggests that maybe we should pick up a few pearls to identify the rest of the magical treasure??
************************************************
When Taric asks about copying spells from her spellbook Kanchana will ask if he doesn't mind working out in the gardens since her spellbook is in her tent there. "Taric you can copy any spell that I have in that book if you want."
************************************************ ((These are the spells Kanchana has in her spellbook: 0 Level: Acid Splash, Arcane Mark, Daze, Dancing Lights, Detect Magic, Detect Poison, Disrupt Undead, Flare, Ghost Sound, Light, Mage Hand, Mending, Message, Open/Close, Prestidigitation, Ray of Frost, Read Magic, Resistance, Touch of Fatigue
Flat-top Saturday January 24th, 2004 7:49:16 AM
Flat-top tells the Two chosen Cleric, "We had to use this entrance or exit for the first time, Because the cleric in side the Heart Chamber was blocked and they were going to kill the students at the time. Remember when Domi Died? Well alot of his cleric went mad. We had to get to the students fast, that's how we got into the Chamber."
"Well! My Friends, I'm going to the falls and take a well earn bath. See you in the chamber before meal time." Flat-top gallops of to the way of the Falls.
Paw'caw (ceil) Saturday January 24th, 2004 7:56:04 AM
Paw'caw after her meal, catches another big fish for the little Unitaurs, who are playing near by. She let go of the fish, and the winds came up pushing her aim off a little. SOOOO! the fish hit Flat-top (as he was drying off) Paw'caw went back to her nest after her duty was done.
Mamagram (ceil) Saturday January 24th, 2004 8:00:48 AM
Mamagram sit and listen to Leets very carefully, *a mouse... we fight a mouse... Oh! Boy! Let go* Mamagram will follow Leets any where now.
Taric d20+14=20 Sunday January 25th, 2004 1:17:22 AM
Taric is very grateful for Kanchana letting him copy a spell from her spellbook. He doesn't mind working in the garden at all, especially since the magically conjured missile would compliment his spell-list quite nicely. And it would also help in those situations where a direct spell would be more helpful than the more subtle spells he was used to using normally. After a full day reading and writing the arcane writings he feels tired, but is pleased with the results. He thanks Kanchana and tells her if she is in need of a particular spell, just let him know.
OOC: using read magic to understand the magical writing. Spellcraft-check = 20 (against DC 16). Cost: 100 gp and 1 page in the spellbook. Time: takes the full 24 hours.
Taric should have 'magic missile' now in his spellbook.
Kenisha and Domisha d20+4=18 Sunday January 25th, 2004 10:41:00 PM
Kenisha decides to help suppliment the food supply by going fishing, inviting Vrurt and her child to come along if they'd like.
While fishing, Paw'caw decides to help out and ands up hitting Flat-top on the head with one fish. The kids giggle and roll about at this and even Kenisha has to smile at the sight.
(Prof. Fisher check= 18)
Brahmah Monday January 26th, 2004 2:10:16 AM
OOC: Yes, I'm having computer issues, again. I might be out in the middle of week.
IC: Brahmah broods over the events that life has dealt. He stays in his room alot.
Vasch Monday January 26th, 2004 8:15:47 AM
Once things seem to be in well enough order around Hearthold Keep, Vasch decides that walls are getting a little constricting. He begins to spend his early mornings wandering the lands around the keep. He will occasionally hunt small game if only to keep his skills sharp.
One of the many days Vasch walks the lands his mind drifts into deep meditation. Forgive my questioning Tomi, but where are we to go from here? Brahmah says we will make your clergy understand your messege, but I fear should they not understand we'll lose Hearthold and any chance to unite the taurs.
You have directed me and I have found your Chosen. I have even seen the miracle of the mixed births...I know this can not be all my trials have been for. A sign Great Tomi...to any of use so that we may not lose our focus and the hope in our hearts.
Toros d20=7 d20=11 d20=18 Monday January 26th, 2004 8:43:57 AM
Toros will also prepare a letter for his family to ask their support for the Chosen. However, as now they should be sailing on the sea, he is not sure how to reach them.
He also wonders whether they can reach to Captain Lira and her crew again.
He will continue giving training to the fighters and children, as much as they want. (d20, 7) In some days he will accompany Vash to hunt for small game. (d11)
He also thinks for ways to get in touch with the native people, to learn their thinking, understand their fears and gain mutual trust, if possible. He also wants to understand the real nature of the current sitation in order to be able to think better of future and be prepared for its coming (d20, 18).
Leets d20+2=11 d20+2=13 d20+2=18 Monday January 26th, 2004 8:47:54 AM
Leets will try to make the Reunited Heart chapel as clean as possible, and will try to craft some holy symbols or statues with pieces of wood (woodcarving rolls of 11, 13 and 18). He will particularly check for vermin crawling in the lower parts of the keep, and especially in the chapel, with the help of Managarm.
Gecktar Monday January 26th, 2004 3:32:44 PM
Gecktar will help Leets to clean the chapel. If they have to receive the clergy it must be ireproachable. So he will work this way...
Hearthold Keep. (DM Jim) Monday January 26th, 2004 6:19:22 PM
The days pass slowly for The Chosen and they fall into a routine at the keep. As they go about thier studying and the like they find that things can be pushed to the side for now.
Still they know that it will be time to call the clergy before long to Hearthold and then things could get interesteing. They will need to be ready as can be not only to make a good showing but also protect those that need it most.
Food is soon not a problem as much fresh fish and other small game is brought in. Michael shows his espertise in preservation of said meats. His meals are excellent and he is using more seasonings than before. Life is good.
Flat-top Monday January 26th, 2004 7:12:15 PM
The days pass quickly when Flat-top makes all kind of tools, Pot, Pans allmatters in the forge. But he never missed practice and fight match in the parade grounds. "I Always want to be in top shape. But after evening meal, he always made time for the Unitaurs and some of their friends, Untill it was time for Bed.
Taric Tuesday January 27th, 2004 12:24:37 AM
Taking a long night of sleep to rest from his enervating work the day before Taric wakes up feeling a lot better. He decides to study in his newly acquired spell to see how he can most effectively use it.
After he is done studying he goes outside, finds himself a stick to target and shoots the magically conjured missiles at it, trying to get a feel for the spell.
After a few tries Taric feels satisfied with the results and walks around the stretch his legs a bit and ponder all things that had happened to the Chosen in the past few weeks.
Paw'caw(Ceil) Tuesday January 27th, 2004 4:56:32 AM
When she flies, she does her lazy eight patern in the sky. Some thimes she'll fly to Brahmah, almost to check in with him. But when she's on guard she'll be in her nest on top of the highest tree on the Island.
managram(Ceil) Tuesday January 27th, 2004 5:05:33 AM
Managram is all too happy to please Leets. Using his special gift, the dog would sniff the vermin out, blink* catch the critter in his mouth blink*, back to Leets. This day he caught 3 mice, 1 rat and 1 garden snake.
Kanchana Tuesday January 27th, 2004 1:03:24 PM
During the lull in activities Kanchana will help with any necessary foraging, and with any cooking if she is asked. In the afternoons Kanchana does some preliminary work on a herbal she is trying to compile.
Kenisha Tuesday January 27th, 2004 2:18:27 PM
Kenisha spends much of the time with the children. It feels good to be able to watch them play and run around without worrying about imminent attacks.
Still she can't help but worry about the future.
Vasch Tuesday January 27th, 2004 3:41:11 PM
Vasch continues his treks into the surrounding lands; hunting or scouting as each day allows.
Toros Tuesday January 27th, 2004 7:15:56 PM
Toros also fits into a daily routine, always finding himself a work to do, whether it is training, hunting, working on the blacksmith or chapel and help others
Gecktar Wednesday January 28th, 2004 12:34:17 PM
Gecktar continue his daily routine, praying Domi regulary at the sunrise and at dawn.
Hearthold Keep. (DM Jim) Wednesday January 28th, 2004 6:48:26 PM
A few more days pass and Dunin returns to the keep with good news. With a short meeting of The Chosen called he is all smiles. "I was able to pass off the letters to get them where they belong." With a quick run of figures through his head he laughs. "I figure it should take about a week to get back replies to them." Then his face sobers as he pulls out a roll of parchments tied in ribbons and sealed with the clergy seal. He hands them to Brahmah as his face darkens even more. With a nod he heads out the door and back to the docks, to take care of his ship.
Each member of The Chosen have gotten to know those that have stayed and been hired a little better. Everyone is falling into a good routine that is proving most favorable. Vrurt has finally come to a decision on a name for her little girl...Melamin, which means "My Love" in the faerie language.
[I will be needing someone to play Brahmah for awhile as he will be away for a week.]
LETTER READS
People of the Taur Islands
It has been brought to the attention of the High Clergy of Domi that The Chosen are accused of the following crimes.
1) Promotion of "the savior" of the taur peoples, without the churches approval.
2) The death of a whole village of minotaurs near Violet Castle.
3) Failure to put themselves into the custody of the "law" that was sent to pick them up.
4) Failure to comply with The Mailed Fist when they came to bring them in. Then further killing several of it's members.
The High Clergy of Domi has been forced to call for no aid to be given to The Chosen. No aid in any of the following forms maybe given to them; no physical aid, spiritual aid or monetary aid of any form. Those that violate this law will themselves be termed traitor to the church.
Stiff penalties will be layed upon anyone that breaks these rules. This can be monetary fines of substancial amounts, prison time for the offender or outright exile from your homeland.
The will and law of Domi be preserved.
[The letter bears the church's seal and is most definitely official.]
Flat-top Wednesday January 28th, 2004 8:37:02 PM
Flat-top read the scroll,"OH! No, this is going to hit Brahmah hard. You minotaurs must be heart broken. But you know what Domi wanted us to do, To protect the Unitaurs and we did it. Domi will not let us down. I knew that the Mailfist was behind this." Flat-top head for the Heart Chamber and the alther.
Vasch Thursday January 29th, 2004 12:08:27 AM
As Vasch listens to the notice being read a look of uter disgust grows on his face. "Clergy of Tomi. Ptuu" He spits at the ground. "Politicians pandering for more personal power. Why am I not surprised, Mailed Fist and corrupted clergy." He marches away to the temple his anger quite obviously high.
Taric Thursday January 29th, 2004 3:21:07 AM
Taric mouths sags open more and more as he hears the letter being read. Lost in total shock, he doesn't have anything to say. He hears the axclamations of pain and anguish from the others, but they seem to be coming from somewhere far away, as if through a mist. Taric can't believe what he just heard. Not only did they twist the facts, but now they even accused them of murder, the most brutal of crimes.
Lost in shock he sits down, his head in his hands, at a loss for what to do next.
Brahmah (Jay B) Thursday January 29th, 2004 3:54:14 AM
OOC: I now have a new machine, I shouldn't have problems for awhile.
IC:
After hearing the 'proclaimation', Brahmah simply walks up to Dunin, takes the scroll from him, rolls it up and tucks into his belt. He then walks out of the room and out of the Keep.
Leets Thursday January 29th, 2004 4:05:53 AM
Not believing his ears after what he heard, Lees takes the piece of parchment and reads it several times.
His hand shaking, he puts the letter on the table.
"Come on Managarm, let's have a walk..."
The Centaur paladin leaves the room, and will trot in the direction of the beach.
Kenisha Thursday January 29th, 2004 6:12:20 AM
Kenisha hugs Domisha tightly and cries. Then she takes Domisha to their room, pulls out a piece of parchment and ink and thinks for a while about what she wants to write in response.
Kanchana Thursday January 29th, 2004 8:31:23 AM
Kanchana wishes she was having a nightmare, instead of living with this reality. She remains calm. Kanchana makes no comments about the letter, and she is not surprised by it. She leaves the meeting room and walks out to the waterfall to think. Kanchana lays down on the grass, stretches out and lets her mind wander first as she watches the clouds. She wonders if there is any help to be had from the mainland; maybe even the greater branch of the Mailed Fist and the non-Taur clergy of Tomi??
Toros Thursday January 29th, 2004 9:42:36 AM
"I do not understand anything... What does this mean" Toros asks with surprise, confusion and hesitation. This is not a question waiting for answer, just a reflection of his feelings and thoughts.
Vasch Thursday January 29th, 2004 11:02:13 AM
Vasch stops at the temple and spends the good part of an hour there. He then decides he needs to be away for a while. On his way out he lets the first he sees that he is going out.
Vasch will spend the remainder of the day running through the surrounding area trying to keep his mind off of what is going on at Hearthold. He even goes so far as stalking anything, never catching only stalking. Keeping his mind focused on the hunt.
Gecktar Thursday January 29th, 2004 4:20:24 PM
Gecktar face become more pale as the message is read. He feels a moment desoriented. With no word he goes to the temple. Here he prays Domi to understand : 'Why my Lord do you allow these fools to represent your church... I think I now the way... Please show me...'
Hearthold Keep. (DM Jim) Thursday January 29th, 2004 7:20:15 PM
The Chosen have been struck a telling blow that is written in ink...not of the sword. Each went his/her seperate way to think over what he just found out. Many of The Chosen are starting to lose thier way and seek answers.
That night each of The Chosen has a dream of great open fields in which they find a hermit sitting alone on a river bank. Clenched in his hands is a fishing pole and he looks up at you as you draw near. "My Lord's Chosen...you must keep your faith strong in these times. Domi has sent me to each of you to give you some comfort in this time of peril." With a look to his line he shakes his head. "The Dark One is moving against him as usual and their is a mysterious thread woven this time that troubles him." He plunges the pole into the ground and stands slowly. With a smile he embraces each of you in his arms. A warmth like none other slows through your body and you feel immediately better. "Domi says to stay strong in your faith and will...the time will come when his will can be fully realized. It sadens him greatly that he has to have you shoulder the greatest of this burden." Things start to fade a little and you find yourself running in the open plains...enjoying the warmth of the sun and forgetting your troubles for the time being.
Taric Friday January 30th, 2004 12:27:07 AM
Taric wakes up from the pleasant dream. His heart set a little at ease. His mind spinning, thinking of anything to protect the children and further the cause of Domi, if only by protecting this keep to keep it safe for anybody with an open mind.
Brahmah Friday January 30th, 2004 1:35:43 AM
The minotaur finds the highest room in the Keep and disappears for days. He doesn't wish to see anyone, even after the dream. He does, however, allow Dunin to report news.
The situation leaves him sad and demoralized, even though the dream was supposed to have been a comfort, it wasn't. So much so that he has actually left his fathers Falchion in his room downstairs for a day or two. He isn't eating much and sleeps on the stone floor. In his waking hours, he reads and rereads the scroll stating what is now Church canon. He can be seen peering from an open window on the topmost floor of the tower.
His mind turns and whirls with thoughts ranging from what his father might think of the Chosen's situation to Brahmah himself hunting down and murdering Martean clerics in their sleep... or even Domi clerics that might not see eye to eye with the Chosen's views.
Dunin might report to the Chosen that their leader's mind may be becoming demented or in the very least, very depressed.
Flat-top Friday January 30th, 2004 8:47:37 AM
Flat-top is running wiht the heard when he wakens. He feel much better and knows the battle with the darkone goes on. Flat-top goes to eat with the rest of the Chosens. To the Unitaurs at the table, Ask your mommies if we can play kick ball, with a few friends of course on your side, a few Uncles and Aunties on my side and have an grown up game. What do you think?" After the Littles ones leave the table to go wash up, Flat-top tell the Mother Vrurt and Kenisha and the others "Don't worry they will win and make friends with the Children of the Island. Any sign of trouble We the grown up will be there, I have my faith in the Little ones." Flat-top is off to Heart Chamber(for his prayers). Then he's off to get the ball to play.
Paw'caw(ceil) Friday January 30th, 2004 8:49:58 AM
Paw'caw is in her nest, She paces back and forth. She has not seen her master for days.
Managram(ceil) Friday January 30th, 2004 8:55:46 AM
Managran is seen every where that Leets goes. If his Master runs, he runs. If Leets truts' the dog ia at that pace. If his master just stand there, he sits beside him(unless there a nice fat rabbit run across his path.)
Leets Friday January 30th, 2004 2:08:23 PM
Leets will come back after one night spent outside, and finds his old friend Flat-Top at the table.
"I suppose you has that dream too, right...? I think we shouldn't spend that much time by ourselves, we are the Chosen, all together, and this, none can break it..."
Leets will then goes to the Hearthold chapel, where he will probably find Gecktar. He grabs his shield, the one Domi gave him, and put it near a wood statue he carved recently.
"The time of the Shield is over Gecktar. Let's run the Wold all together, and crush the ennemy of the Allmighty Father: the time of the Hammer has come!"
Gecktar Friday January 30th, 2004 2:24:39 PM
Gecktar wake up, his heart light as a feather. Domi has answered his prayer. 'We must continue and have no doubt in our faith'.
Toros Friday January 30th, 2004 6:34:10 PM
When Toros starts the next day he is not aware that everyone has seen the same dream. In the day he continues his questioning in order to make sense of what is going on. When he by chance learn that others also saw the same dream thus gives him a very good relief, and he feels better
Kenisha Friday January 30th, 2004 7:21:44 PM
Kenisha feels better in the morning, but is still feeling very protective of her daughter. When Flat-top proposes a game of ball, she agrees but only if she is there to watch. The moment anyone turns nasty or spiteful, she will grab up her child and head back to the keep.
Kanchana Friday January 30th, 2004 9:35:04 PM
Kanchana realizes that she must have fallen asleep while contemplating the clouds. The sound of the waterfall woke her up again. She has a warm, fuzzy feeling when she awakens after the dream. After a huge yawn she mutters, "why can't Father send omen dreams to the Wayward Clergy?? That would set things straight..."
Kanchana gets up and stretches out, then she heads to the kitchen to find some food, and anyone else to hear if they had the same strange dream.
If she sees Dunin she will ask him about any news from the Isles and the Mainland if he has any, and if he has had any luck finding any of the things that Brahmah wanted to rebuild the Keep.
Hearthold Keep. (DM Jim) Friday January 30th, 2004 10:07:34 PM
Dunin spends most of his time at his shack by the docks waiting to get word from anyone that they have sent letters to. He has been staying in constant contact with Brahmah but has found him becoming more withdrawn. With a look of concern he drags several of The Chosen off to the side. "Flat-top, Kanchana and Leets...I wanted to bring it to your attention that your leader has drawn more removed lately...I am not sure if you noticed...I worry." He lets the others do what they want about it as he is not sure what to do himself.
Four days later Dunin comes running up to the keep with excellent news. "A ship has docked with some timber...timber for repairs." He is exstatic and cannot keep the smile from his face.
When you go down to see about the wood you find the GassamerWing floating at the docks with timbers being unloaded to the docks. Captain Lira hangs from a rope over the side of the ship and gives The Chosen a salute. "Be figurn ya be needn this...just donna be askn where it be comn from." She smiles at the load of you as she continues to watch the timber being unloaded.
Kanchana Saturday January 31st, 2004 2:29:38 PM
Kanchana listens to Dunin's worries about Brahmah with concern. She spends quite a bit of time working on a tea to give Brahmah to help with his moodiness. She researches what plants will work best and ends up with a tea made from lavender, lime blossom. skullcap, rosemary and oats, with honey added for taste.
With Captain Lira's arrival she sees her chance to go visit Brahmah in his self-imposed exile from society. She brings the tea (a cup feshly brewed, and a flask for later), some flat-bread with herbs and some news.
************************************************
Kanchana finds out which tower Brahmah is holed up in and knocks on his door. "Brahmah? I know that you do not wish to talk, and that the letter really hurt. But I have brought something that I want you to drink and eat. And I have some very good news! I will sit here and wait until you come to me." Kanchana says in a firm but friendly voice.
Kanchana waits for a response. If she doesn't get one immediately she will say, "I spent a lot of time working on this for you and I really want you to try it. If you don't open the door then I will. Besides I know that you really want to hear what I have to say..."
Kanchana sits outside the door and waits. She will wait for as long as necessary. She will even sing badly to keep herself amused. Not realizing that she actually sings badly!
Brahmah Sunday February 1st, 2004 2:24:39 AM
Brahmah opens the door after several hours of TERRIBLE singing, though he doesn't convey that emotion. "Yes?" He asks impatiently, as though he asked it already. "Tea? tea.... a simple pleasure. What makes you so bleedin' sure I want some tea? Well?" He takes the cup, smells it then dips a finger in to taste the blend. "What in the Blue is this?" He wrinkles his nose. "You have news? What is it?"
Kanchana (to Brahmah) Sunday February 1st, 2004 3:27:21 AM
Kanchana smiles a little (in a friendly way) in spite of Brahmah's bad mood. "Drink all of the tea in the cup, and I will tell you." It sounds clear that Kanchana will not budge on that request; and the tea doesn't taste bad at all - just different. She leaves the bread as well.
When Brahmah drinks everything in the cup Kanchana says, "I wanted you to drink that because I care about your welfare too. Now for the news... Captain Lira has been here with timber to help rebuild the keep." She smiles encouragingly. Kanchana will leave the flask and the cup in Brahmah's room, and hope that he drinks the tea.
Flat-top Sunday February 1st, 2004 7:39:00 AM
The children games went very well, of course the children won(the adult made sure of that), after the game all went home real friends. The news came to them that the ship Gassamer Wing was in dock, Flat-top gallop down to the Forge. In back was a door, flat top takes six bottles of wine and puts them into a box. Off he goes to the dock. Sure enough there's the ship. Flat-top goes to the Captain Lira and give her the six Bottles of Purple Wine, Telling her "I want to thank you for the help, Please take the Wine." Flat-top winks at the Captain Lira "And No Questions Ask."
Kenisha Sunday February 1st, 2004 11:31:33 PM
Kenisha watches the game from the sidelines, cheering for both teams.
Back in the keep afterwards, anyone passing by her quartersmight chance to hear her say things like: "No, that sounds too hostile." or "That makes us sound like we're whinning."
Anyone who opens the door finds Kenisha scribbling away on parchment.
Taric Monday February 2nd, 2004 2:38:35 AM
Taric hears about the arrival of the Gossamer Wing and heads to the docks to see for himself. Finally something good is happening. Domi is with us and he is showing it! thinks Taric to himself.
Not seeing Brahmah among the Chosen at the docks, Taric starts wondering what happened to their stalwart leader. His mind drifts back to when he just joined the Chosen, when Brahmah and Flat-Top initiated him with a flask of wine. Too much wine. A smile slip upon Taric's face. But then his mind at the present and the absence of Brahmah starts worrying him. He heads back to the Keep to find out what is going on and see if he can find Brahmah, wherever he might be.
If he finds out where Brahmah is he will walk to the tower to see if he can talk with him. If Kanchana is there, he is pleased to see her and will join her efforts in making Brahmah leave his self-imposed exile. He will tell Brahmah about the first time they met and how insecure he felt. But thanks to the efforts of the Chosen, but especially Brahmah in the beginning, Taric felt himself accepted and realized that as long as they stayed together and worked as a team, everybody would have a hard time defeating. He tells Brahmah about the first sign of defeat is when the Chosen start splitting up. When the loyalty of the Chosen towards each other starts waning and gets undermined by actions of the opponents of the Chosen. He will also tell Brahmah that right now, with all those troubles and especially since the letter was printed, that right now was the time to show an united front to everybody so all the opponents of the Chosen would realize their attempts to drive a wedge between the Chosen are futile.
Taric will keep talking until Brahmah comes down and leaves the tower. If Brahmah refuses to come down and stays in his tower, Taric will stay with him, no matter how long.
Gecktar Monday February 2nd, 2004 2:21:29 PM
When Gecktar hear the news, he runs to the docks wanting to see it from his own eyes... Domi has heard their prayers... Some of the Taurs still believe that the fight is going on and brave some institution... There is still hope... '
But for now we must assemble the chosen and begin to work' does he thinks.
Vasch Monday February 2nd, 2004 5:27:32 PM
Vasch comes in from one of his runs in the lands. He sees the ship in dock and the wood being unloaded. A smile unconsciously grows across his face, "Thank you Tomi."
He proceeds to the dock to help unload supplies.
Toros (Tunc) Monday February 2nd, 2004 5:31:03 PM
<<OOC: Dear All, I will be a bit busy during this week, and may not post properly. For the flow of the game, when necessary if you may please also roleplay my character I will be grateful. And I will try to re-post as soon as I can>>
Hearthold Keep. (DM Jim) Monday February 2nd, 2004 6:47:41 PM
Captain Lira smiles as she takes the wine and hands it off to her first mate. There is a quick exchange of words and then the first mate heads below. "No questions." Captain Lira is all too happy to see The Chosen again as they had been no trouble on her ship. "We be not believn the rumors." She gives Flat-top a wink and lightly drops from her ship. "Beside the clergy be needn me and me girls." She continues to watch the unloading of her ship. "Twelve big timbers we got."
Now some more repairs can be made on the keep and maybe get Brahmah out of his slump. The GossamerWing stays docked and the female crew is often available to help out with small jobs.
Brahmah Monday February 2nd, 2004 10:53:40 PM
He drinks the tea and eats the bread, but still is a bit under the weather, like a great grey squall.
When Taric shows up, it's obvious that the Exile won't take and Brahmah realizes this might just turn into an ugly stand off with these two Chosen, they were, in some ways, more stubborn than him! He might have to leave the tower just to get peace. 'These tricky skally-wags!'
He begins to pack up his few things and returns to his room just off the Heart Chamber. Assuming the other are following him like hounds, he turns and smirks, "Cap'n Lira eh? Heh! That Pirate! I hope she stays out of trouble."
He goes to the docks and indeed cheers a bit.
Taric Tuesday February 3rd, 2004 2:32:29 AM
When Brahmah does indeed leave the tower and get back to his own room, a slight feeling of peace washes over Taric for just a second. To have their leader in their midst again was a very good thing to say the least.
When all is set and done he will move to the docks to help with moving the timbers. Since he has basically two left hands he will leave the actual repairs to others, but he is glad he was at least able to help a little bit.
Kanchana Tuesday February 3rd, 2004 3:08:28 AM
Kanchana smiles when Brahmah drinks the tea and eats the bread. "You will be feeling much better soon Brahmah. With the timber having arrived there will not be so much time to be idle for anyone." Kanchana leaves the tower and goes back to the gardens. She leaves the unloading of the ship to the guys and the crew. She will make herself available to help out with any wood-working if her help is needed.
Leets Tuesday February 3rd, 2004 4:42:09 AM
When Leets hears of the boat that just arrived, he will go at the dock and help to do anything needed. He's glad to see his friends gathered here...
Later, when time comes for talking, he will gladly join his friends.
"Chosen! Remember Marteaus tried to kill Domi recently...and managed to do it although he finally came back. It was a failure for the Lord of Darkness, and we musn't forget it. He failed, and he's probably trying something else: Divide to Rule."
Flat-top Tuesday February 3rd, 2004 5:59:29 AM
Flat-top is happy to see that Brahmah stumping to the dock. With with Kachana and Tauric right behind him. Flat-top tell Brahmah, "Captain, don't ask Captain Lira any questions as to where the lumber came from, I myself think it comes from Minotaur Island." Flat-top goes to Kachana and Tauric, he put an arm around their shoulders "My Miricle Workers."
Paw'caw(ceil) Tuesday February 3rd, 2004 6:06:42 AM
Paw'caw was flyingin her figer eight pattern, when she spots her Master coming down the path to the docks. Down she dives, coming to rest on his shoulder, looking at him as if to say 'Are you please with me?'
Managram(ceil) Tuesday February 3rd, 2004 6:13:40 AM
Managram follows Leets every where, doing this job with him and doing that job at leet's side. Now he sits next to him, listening to him say something very important. So he Barks in aggrement "Bark-Bark" adding his two cp in the mix.
Kenisha Tuesday February 3rd, 2004 6:35:49 AM
Kenisha and Domisha come down to the docks as well. She's happy to see the ship and her crew again.
After all the timbersare offloaded, she'll approach Brahmah and say, "I've been trying to write a response to the Minotaur clergy's edict, but haven't been able to come up with something that sounds both right and true. I know it has to be worded carefully to prevent an all out war, but I feel it's right that our side of what happened be told. What do you think?"
Brahmah Tuesday February 3rd, 2004 7:25:39 AM
When Flat-top says not to ask where the lumber came from, Brahmah is curious, but leaves it alone for the time being.
As for Kenisha's question, "Honestly, do you think anything will get through to them?! Minotaurs are hot tempered you know..." Saying it as if he weren't one. "Do what you think best."
He strokes his birds feathers with a single finger and says, "It's alright my friend, I'm fine." He smiles.
Hearthold Keep. (DM Jim) Tuesday February 3rd, 2004 6:56:21 PM
The unloading of the timber is a fast process with all the extra hands. The real problem comes with getting it to the keep easily.
With a little inquiry they find that Dunin has an old wagon that is still in good shape, but there are no horses or the like to pull it. While the others ponder over the idea Brahmah pulls Captain Lira off to the side and asks about the timber. On his honor he tells her that he will say nothing at all about it. With a smile she pulls Brahmah in close. "Da church be needn ta find new lumber for their new wing." She busts out laughing as if it is the most natural thing in the world and the funniest.
Walking back towards the ship with Brahmah she smiles. "There be food stuffs on board too." She gives him another wink as she gives orders for the barrels to be brought up. Three of the barrels are marked with the sign of Domi as sacrimental wine. "Tis a donation from da church."
Taric Wednesday February 4th, 2004 1:13:17 AM
At Flat-Top's words, Taric grins a bit: "Just doing what needs to be done. But I'm sure glad he's back among us."
Taric will help pull the old wagon to the keep. He hopes that the others will help as well, so he doesn't have to do it alone, since he won't be able to go all the way by himself.
Gecktar Wednesday February 4th, 2004 3:35:55 AM
Gecktar is happy to see Lira again and with many things for them. He will help Taric to pull the wagon to the keep saying to him with a smile "hoping that our captain is back..."
Flat-top Wednesday February 4th, 2004 5:52:57 AM
Flat-top look at the Barrels of wine with the sign of Domi on them. He starts to laught, with tears running down his cheeks. "It comes from Centaur Island, I'll bet my heard had something to do with this?". Flat-top put on a harness, "Come on Leets! let's get this lumber up to the Keep." Flat-top will hitch his harness to the wagon, pulling the wagon up to the Keep.
Kenisha Wednesday February 4th, 2004 6:21:37 AM
Looking a bit disappointed in Brahmah's response, Kenisha turns to Leet's next. "Do you think it would be a good idea to send a response to the Minotaurs' edict. I've been trying on my own to come up with something, but haven't ben very satisfied with it so far."
Brahmah Wednesday February 4th, 2004 7:23:22 AM
Brahmah looks downright shocked and almost upset, if it wasn't for the joy and anger he was feeling about his own inquiry. "LIRA, why, how, the wine! Lumbers one ting, but the wine is something else. The barrels need to be destroyed." He thinks a minute, looks at the Chosen trying not to look too upset, then smiles. "Only AFTER we've emptied them!" Then he roars with laughter.
Vasch Wednesday February 4th, 2004 7:58:46 AM
Vasch's mood lifts while unloading the ship. Knowing he's not strong enough to carry lumber, he eagerly grabs food-stuff supplies and carries them to the keep.
He hears Kenisha dilema and returns with his opinion. Stoping next to her carrying an arm-load of food-stuff he says to her. "Kenisha, send no response. Anything we send will be preverted, used out of context and only heighten the public sentiment against us. Before any type of actions are taken on our part the keep must be taken care of. I'm sure that any response we send to our accusers will bring swift retaliations." He smiles, "There will be time to talk after we've unloaded the ship."
Leets Wednesday February 4th, 2004 12:02:04 PM
Leets shakes his head hearing Kenisha's words.
"My first idea was also to write an answer...But I seriously think it would be useless. It sounds like the door of Domi's official clergy is closed, either because some kind of hidden power is manipulating them, either because they are too afraid to face the situation..."
"From here, I see four ways opened to us: - First, I can try to write a letter, maybe with Gecktar, so that the letter comes from Domi's clergymen among the Chosen. It could give more weight to our words, but I have real doubts about it... - Second possibility, to ask for a meeting with the Highest Clergy of Domi directly, to talk face to face. It would certainly mean death for the one going there, but I have to say I would take pleasure telling them what I think before dying... - Third possibility: try to gather wandering clergymen of Domi. I think there are many priests, paladin, and maybe rangers who could also have heard Domi's call to protect the child, and who know the truth...We could call for them to gather here and talk. The problem is that it could seriously split Domi's Church, and give an advantage to Marteaus.... - Fourth possibility: find those who are behind our troubles, and teach them that we don't like their way to treat our allies like puppets..."
Kanchana Wednesday February 4th, 2004 1:37:42 PM
Kanchana smiles at Flat-top's comment, "Taric and I only did what we could for Brahmah. Truth be told he probably got bored with us!" She chuckles a little. "That letter, was it from all of Father Tomi's Tauran clergy or only the Minotaur clergy? If it was not from all of the clergy combined then perhaps we need to look to the Wemic and Centaur clergy for assistance??"
Suddenly Kanchana cannot help but laugh weakly, "you know in a way we have succeeded in our quest to unite the Taurs. Just not in any way we would have hoped." She leaves for the gardens still sort of laughing. Her laughter sounds forced and bitter.
Hearthold Keep. (DM Jim) Wednesday February 4th, 2004 8:28:37 PM
Captain Lira glances to Brahmah and smiles openly. "Tis no big deal...a dozen more they had." She laughs as Brahmah comments about destroying them after they are empty. "Ta foodstuffs are from several tribes." She glances to the rest of The Chosen and then back to Brahmah. "Don be denyn...a few two-leggers be supportn ya." She lets it hang there as she turns to the crew of her ship and gets some of them to help pull the wagon.
With supplies at the keep it is time to store them and decide what to start on for repairs. Still some of the most needed repairs will require stone which is hard to come by, even harder now for The Chosen. Maybe a certain Captain can try but you can hold no hope in that, she has a small ship for stone.
That night Michael prepares one grand feast that the crew of the GossamerWing attends with thier captain. New friends are made and much talk is given to the problems of The Chosen.
[The scroll with the edict against The Chosen bears the seal of all three racial clergies.]
Brahmah Thursday February 5th, 2004 6:00:16 AM
Brahmah asks Lira about the stone. "Can we?"
(OOC: I have the loot stuff more or less ready, give me until the weekend. :)
Kenisha Thursday February 5th, 2004 6:26:39 AM
"I guess you guys are right... It just feels so wrong not to respond." Kenisha says sadly.
The feast that night does much to lift Kenisha's spirits, at least for the moment.
Vasch Thursday February 5th, 2004 8:37:08 AM
"Are there any possible locations in the area that we may be able to get the stone we need? Can't imagine they imported all the stone for the keep." Vasch interrupts the conversation.
Vasch enjoys the meal, but continues to think on the stone situation. I bet there is an old quarry around here. There has to be. It would have taken decades to build this place if they shipped in the stone. I think tomorrow I'm going to have myself another look. This time I have something to look for.
Later in the evening, Vasch approaches Kanchana. "This dinner was a good idea. The moods have lightened in us all. There is something I need to talk to you about." Vasch pauses. "I'm going out tomorrow to look around the area for an old quarry or any stone we can use. I would like you to come as well. You are much more adept than I, in nature, and I would like your help." He lets Kanchana consider what he has asked.
Leets Thursday February 5th, 2004 8:53:40 AM
Leets will enjoy the celebration with his friends gladly. He's really happy to have all his friends gathered, the children safe and to be at home.
He considers there has been enough thinking about Domi's Church problem, and will eat, drink and dance...
Kanchana Thursday February 5th, 2004 1:03:21 PM
Kanchana enjoys the feast immensely. She thanks Michael for arranging it. Kanchana will even dance if she gets a chance, she remembers how much fun she and Flat-top had dancing in the Giggling Ghost.
Later when Vasch approaches her about looking for a local quarry she heartily agrees to go with him to look for it. "Vasch, this feast was Michael's idea not mine." She smiles, "I would love to go with you to look for a possible quarry. Though I think that we should ask the humans for more help since they clearly do not share the opinion of the Taur clergy in general."
Kanchana suggests that they have an early breakfast and then set out to look for the quarry. She will pack what she needs for the excursion before going to bed after the feast.
Gecktar Thursday February 5th, 2004 3:44:31 PM
Gecktar will enjoy the feast. All what happens lighten his heart. These are signs from Domi to keep the way.
Flat-top Thursday February 5th, 2004 6:52:15 PM
After the fine meal Flat-top goes to the unitaurs, "May I have this dance Please?" Flat top pick up Melanen putting her on his back, Now you hold on to my maine, really tight." then He takes the hand of Domisha, steping this way and that way, then a few turns (like a slow waltz. untill the little ones got tired and ready for sleep. Flat-top approches Kanchana (after the dance with Vasch, ofcourse)"Come! dance with me, let's trample a rug."
Kanchana ( to Flat-top) Thursday February 5th, 2004 7:34:48 PM
Kanchana will never pass up a chance to dance with Flat-top. He is a good dancer!
Hearthold Keep. (DM Jim) Thursday February 5th, 2004 9:42:25 PM
That night everyone sleeps a little bit better as Domi has given them a slight sign. They can only hope that he can continue to smile upon them as forces work against them.
The following morning Kanchana and Vasch leave the keep to see if they can find any signs of a quarry around the keep (search 12).
The rest of The Chosen spend the day making repairs as needed around the keep with the timber that was supplied to them. Most of the day is spent cutting down timber to the sizes needed.
Michael and Lonia serve some food and drink outside, making alittle picknick out of it. Veria, Trinl and Upthel make themselves useful by carrying loads of wood around and getting rid of rotten pieces.
Taric Friday February 6th, 2004 3:32:33 AM
Taric helps in cutting down the lumber. He feels not at his best though, since he feels more in his element using his brains, but since the situation asks for it, keeps his spirits high, especially after the great feast, and keeps on chopping away.
Brahmah Friday February 6th, 2004 5:19:15 AM
Brahmah calls the Chosen to the Heart Chamber.
"We have business. Loot." (OOC: Okay friends, it took awhile, but this is the final stuff. I suggest that when the battle axe in the group fund is ID'd, we sell it and split the loot.)
Kanchana- 148gp 4sp voucher, CLW Wand (2nd level and 44 charges), CLW Wand (2nd level and 50 charges), Bracers of Armor +1, 30 masterwork bolts, healer's kit
Group items- 24 potions(all have been ID'd), arrows (6 magic unidentified), magic battleaxe (unindentified), Strand of Prayer Beads (bless), 4 spell component pouches, 25 days rations
Kanchana (note about Loot) Friday February 6th, 2004 8:27:25 AM
Brahmah (Jay) you forgot to add 1 spell component pouch for Kanchana, otherwise it looks correct according to my notes. ;)
Kenisha Friday February 6th, 2004 9:13:00 AM
Flat-top finds that he has to dance quite awhile with the little ones before they start to tire. Kenisha takes pity on him and leads Domisha off to bed.
At the meeting, Kenisha takes her voucher (for 148gp, 4sp) with a nod of thanks to Brahmah.
While the others are removing the old rodden wood and replacing them with the new timbers, Kenisha will keep the children at a safe distance away.
Flat-top Friday February 6th, 2004 9:27:33 AM
"Captain Brahmah, You did a fine job of barter. If by any chance, we need funds for the Keep or for the children on this Island. All of my funds are available." Flat-top turns to Toros, "will you help me with the barrels of wine?"
Toros(Ceil) Friday February 6th, 2004 9:48:59 AM
Toros after puting away his share of the Loot, he thanks Captain Brahmah of the excelant job well done. The Weimic follows Flat-top down to the forge, there in the back is where the wine cellar is, there in frount of them are the three barrels of wine. As Flat-top tips one of the barrels to roll them into the wine cellar, The weimic eyes open wide and start to studder "OH! loook thhhe mmmaarkkk of Tomi, Where! Who! How! When! What do you mean NO Question Ask?" But he rolls the barrels into the wine cellar and helps put them on wood horses.
Vasch d20+7=24 Friday February 6th, 2004 11:14:00 AM
The next morning Vasch thanks Brahmah for the voucher and continues to prepare to search for the quarry.
"Morning." He says to Kanchana. "Ready to go?"
(Search DC24 to spot the quarry.)
Gecktar Friday February 6th, 2004 12:09:56 PM
Gecktar take is voutcher. "I thank you Brahmah for the good barter. But as I told you I will put this money for the keep. I will just search (or buy) a small chest and put it in the temple where we can group all contributions. If you need a treasurer to keep track of what we win an expend I can do it.... And keep hoping that we manage to revert the situation. I think that Domi is still with us and we will win at last..."
(OOC : DM Jim is there a small chest we may use as a pool, else do I need to go to the Catacombs ?)
Kanchana d20+3=10 Friday February 6th, 2004 1:14:52 PM
Kanchana thanks Brahmah for the voucher. SHe puts the voucher and the new items she has gotten into her haversack in the tent.
The next morning she will pack light, and take a few provisions for lunch. Kanchana meets Vasch in the dining area and has a light breakfast before setting out. "Good morning Vasch. I am as ready to go as I can be."
Kanchana enjoys being out under the open sky looking for the quarry. She is so preoccupied with enjoying 'the Wilderness' that she forgets to look for the quarry!
