Trouble from the Church

Hearthold Keep. (DM Jim)
Friday February 6th, 2004 6:25:37 PM

It is a good morning with a lot of repairs having been made of the past couple of days. Captain Lira comes out early to let The Chosen know that she will be setting sail this day, but has no plans on where to go.

Breakfast is wolfed down by many of The Chosen and much to everyones pleasure they get a little bit of money from Brahmah. Vasch and Kanchana set out shortly after breakfast to look around for the old quarry.

Flat-top and Toros move the barrels of wine in on planks set of horses. Toros is almost knocked over when he sees the Tomi mark on three of the barrels. His curiousity is peeked but unfortunately Captain Lira is gone.

Fortunately for Kanchana, Vasch was looking for the quarry and not just enjoying nature. He finds an area that is grown over with vines and grass. On closer inspection he notices area that have been worked with a pick and the like to remove blocks of stone. You also notice some smaller stones laying around that have been grown over too.

Vasch and Kanchana return about half past lunch time with the good news. Michael and Lonia bring in a late meal for everyone and also seemed overjoyed with the news. Lonia blushes at her display of emotion and quickly exits the room. Ten minutes later the doors burst open and Dunin comes into the room. He is out of breathe and breathing hard as he leans against the table trying to compose himself. With a little effort he finally is able to speak. "Ships...ships approach the island." It is easy to tell from his words that this is most likely not a good thing.

[Entangle will of course require live plants to have any effect, but actually being in soil should not effect that. Just that they have no way to actaully hold onto anything but their victim. How much vegetation that would be needed I would think would depend on the size/type of the vegetation. One tree would be sufficient, as would a patch of grass, but a flower I doubt would be able to hold much on it's own.]

[There will be several small chest laying around the keep. Some of them are in better shape than others. You could find one that will fit your needs.]

[I will be looking for updated character sheets now that loot has been divided amongst you. We can add anything that is purchased after it is purchased. This will allow us to start really moving on with the next module.]

THANKS! DM Jim

Toros (Tunc)
Friday February 6th, 2004 7:20:13 PM

<<Thank you for my post Ceil!!>>

<<Dear All, I also try to revise and finalize Toros's initial gear before the start of the next module. I want to get items that would be useful not only for me but also for the Chosen. I think I can spend around 4500 gp and can get items that can be for group use or any of us can use when s/he may be in need. Please tell me your ideas about how we can use this amount of money for the best benefit of the group. This is what I have wanted to do since my first appearance in the game, although it has lasted until this time, but I think now is a good time to discuss this, as I get to know the game better and our group is in need of funds. I am open to any suggestions, although of course they will need be approved by our Dear DM.>>

Taric
Saturday February 7th, 2004 1:41:26 AM

Taric thanks Brahmah for the voucher. He tells the captain he could become a merchant after everything is at peace again.

Putting all the item in his haversack he hears Dunin coming in, telling about the ships approaching.

Taric grabs his haversack, puts on the rest of his gear and then joins the others, hoping the ships means good news, although he realizes the chances at that are pretty slim.

Flat-top
Saturday February 7th, 2004 4:22:46 PM

After both Flat-top and Vasch put the wine away. They hear Dunin banging on the big frount door. So the both Centaur and Weimic go up the back way, making their way into the dinning/meeting room, there is Dunin all out of breath telling then about ship coming. Flat-top turns to Brahmah "OH! No! The Dark powers that want us dead are turning this into a Holy War. Well so be it I'm on Domi side."

Brahmah
Sunday February 8th, 2004 3:25:31 AM

"Ships?!" He will round up folks and take them to the Keep.
"To the Keep! To the Keep! To arms!"

(OOC: I assume the ships are bad?)

Vasch  d20+9=27
Sunday February 8th, 2004 11:33:51 AM

Vasch hears the call to arms ring through the keep. Leaping and running, he gathers his gear and makes his way to a high point on the wall. His bow at the ready, he looks out at the ships.

(Spot DC27)

Kanchana  d20+5=18 d20+5=15 d20+3=7
Sunday February 8th, 2004 2:35:21 PM

Kanchana hears the call to arms and hurries out into the garden and gets herself ready for possible combat. She then packs all of her gear up (tent and all) and moves it deep into the grotto for safekeeping. Finally Kanchana goes to a vantage point outside and watches the ships. She looks for signs indicating intent of warfare and any signs/insignia belonging to the church.

Toros  d20=10 d20=13 d20=10
Sunday February 8th, 2004 5:09:42 PM

Toros will also go and get his stuff then try to help Vasch for identifying the ships (d20, 10 for helping Vasch) (13+1, 14 knowledge check) (10+3, 13 spot check on his own, this last roll may be unnecessary, as Toros already tries to help Vasch.)

Kenisha  d20+4=9
Sunday February 8th, 2004 10:36:59 PM

Hearing the call to arms, Kenisha makes sure that the children and Vrurt are safely inside the keep before going to the top of the keep to get a good look at the ships that approach.

Spot check= 9

(ooc- I'll be sending my updated character sheet on Monday late, I've been going through back problems the past two weeks and I get to have a MRI tomorrow. Joy. :/ )

Gracor the Great...Supreme Delivery Boy (Catacombs Staffer Nellie)
Sunday February 8th, 2004 10:47:11 PM

Suddenly, among all the commotion, there is a loud **POP**. A middle aged human dressed in spotless white robes appears in the middle of the room. Brahmah, and perhaps some of the others recognize him as Gracor, the Manager of the Catacombs. Noticing all the action and people arming themselves, Gracor puts his arms up in a conciliatory manner, hoping that his sudden arrival has not caused an unpleasant surprise.

He makes his way slowly toward Brahmah, keeping his hands up "It would appear that I have come at a bad time...so I'll be brief." He snaps his fingers and a beautiful buckler appears in his right hand. "I'm sorry it took so long...here is your buckler." Gracor continues as he hands the buckler over to Brahmah "I hope you don't mind, but I've done a little extra customization...". At first glance, the shield appears to be exactly to Brahmah's specifications....the holy symbol of Domi smashing into and crushing Marteaus's symbol. Upon closer examination, Brahmah notices that Domi's symbol has a faint blue glow to it, whereas Marteaus's symbol appears to be rusting (though the rust does not appear to damage the shield's integrity). "And might I add that you have impeccable taste in armament?" Gracor smiles, but he quickly returns to business. "But, as I said before, this looks to be a bad time, so I will not overstay my welcome."

He begins to chant a spell, but stops halfway as if he just remembered something. He walks over to Kenisha and sports an ear to ear grin. "Ahh...I almost forgot!" He reaches into a pocket in his robe and withdraws a small sphere (1/2 inch in diameter) which he then hands to her. "I am terribly sorry that this gift is so late...but I have been very busy of late. This is for your beautiful child of yours!" Gracor rubs the ball gently and it levitates in the air a few feet above Kenisha's head. It begins to emit a soft, soothing music as it slowly changes color from pastel blue to pink to yellow to green. "I know it isn't much, but the powers that be forbid anything more costly." Gracor winks at Kenisha mischievously "It has been my personal experience that this very item can entertain the younger ones for hours on end. Hopefully little Domisha will enjoy it as well." Gracor pauses and then resumes his spellcasting. Just before he disappears with a **POP**, those nearby hear him say "May Domi watch over his Chosen!"

Leets
Monday February 9th, 2004 9:14:09 AM

The Centaur paladin is keeping the sheeps and blowing in his pan pipes when the alarm bell resounds from the Hearthold Keep. Immediately seeing the sails approaching, he let the sheeps where they are and runs as quickly as he can to the Keep. When he enters, Gracor just disappears, and he see Brahmah's shield...

"Wow, did I miss something? What are those sails?"

Gecktar
Monday February 9th, 2004 4:57:41 PM

Hearing the bell's keep, he goes in his chamber to gather his gear, put his armor on and grip his hammer and shield. Resolute he come out to see who is on these ships...

The Coming of Ships. (DM Jim)
Monday February 9th, 2004 7:23:08 PM

Brahmah quickly gets everyone inside that wants to come in. The Chosen go about their preparations for battle or maybe a quick getaway.

Kanchana from her vantage point outside can just barely make out the ships at first. But as they draw closer she comes to realize that there is actually one for each of the three races. A blue flag flies from each ship, each bears one of the following emblems upon it; a large hoof, large paw print and large set of horns in bright white.

The others from their areas on the keep walls will notice the same thing that Kanchana does as the ships draw near. It would seem that all three taur races are coming to visit.

Upon landing at the docks a compliment of twelve men per each group gets off of their perspective boats. Though they give each other nasty looks the commanders keep them in check. They start a march on the keep, passing along the dirt roadway that leads to the keep. Once they get there the groups set up a little camp outside the keep while the three representatives make their way to the big wooden gate. Each representative demands entrance to the keep so that The Chosen can hear their demands.

The ships make it back out to sea a ways and seems to sit waiting for something. It is most evident that all three races are not getting along too well and that this could blow up into the first rounds of war.

Brahmah
Monday February 9th, 2004 9:56:48 PM

The Chosen's leader goes outside to meet the representives, after they've calmed, Brahmah makes demands of his own.

"The Chosen WILL hear you. We ask only two things... first, being that you leave your weaponry at the gate, ALL concealed weaponry as well. Secondly, once your hooves/paws are set on these shores, we are ALL friends and kin.
If these requests aren't to your satisfaction, perhaps your on the wrong island. There will be NO bloodshed within this Keep."

He calls into the Keep. "Prepare a feast!"

He greets each of the races honorably and with a genuine smile on his face.

Kenisha
Monday February 9th, 2004 11:07:55 PM

Kenisha thanks Gracor for the thoughtful gift before he disappears. She gazes up at the ball in a bit of a daze at it's colors and sounds for a moment before returning her attention to the ships. She grabs the ball and stuffs it into her pouch for the moment.

Once Brahmah makes his declarations and calls for a feast, Kenisha asks him, "Should Vrurt and the children remain in hiding? Until we hear their demands it might be safer."

Taric
Tuesday February 10th, 2004 2:10:39 AM

Taric stands on the wall to make sure nothing happens to Brahmah while he is talking to the representatives. He doesn't show any weaponry, but then again, his biggest weapons was his brain.

Leets
Tuesday February 10th, 2004 2:32:05 AM

Leets is glad to see that people will first try to speak before any new troubles.

He will quickly wear a clean tunic and simply bear his wooden symbol of Domi on his chest. His chainmail and his morningstar will remain in his room, and his shield is in the chapel.

"Well...It's now or never..."

He clears his throat, and waits for those special "guests".

Flat-top
Tuesday February 10th, 2004 6:19:56 AM

Flat-top watches Brahmah as he meet the three races, "From the smile on Brahmah face, I'd say Yes, Keep the Unitaurs out of sight but with the village children that came in the keep. Until we are sure that it is safe." Flat-top will go into his room and wear only his Dimond shape plate with the sign of Domi engraved on it.

Paw'caw(ceil)
Tuesday February 10th, 2004 6:24:21 AM

Paw'caw spots her master talking to these Taurs, She dives and comes to rest on Brahmah's shoulder to have her head scratch, BUT watching the trio very closely.

Managram(ceil)
Tuesday February 10th, 2004 6:28:22 AM

Managram sencing that something speacial is going on, jump around Leets as if to say "Oh! Good! do I get another bone?"

Vasch
Tuesday February 10th, 2004 9:54:49 AM

Hearing the calls from below. "Looks like we're being given and official chance to turn ourselves in. Sounds like the prelude to war, Toros." He says to his companion on the parapets. "Let's go. We need to make sure we can get the taurs out if things go badly." Vasch heads down to see Brahmah.

"Captain, what do you think?" Vasch says. "Are there escape tunnels built in this place? I think the little ones should be ready to go if things go badly, do you?"

Toros
Tuesday February 10th, 2004 10:22:06 AM

Toros nods silently, when he hears the comments of Vasch. Together with him he goes to see Brahmah and others, waiting to meet with the new comers.

If all the taur races have managed to unite only in order to destroy the Chosen, whose only aim is to unite the Taurs, this will be a great irony, he thinks to himself.

Kanchana
Tuesday February 10th, 2004 4:58:53 PM

Kanchana studies the symbols on the standards and looks worried. "It looks like the arch-clergy of the Church have come to pay a visit."

Kanchana does not enter the Keep, she stays outside and watches the procession. She will stand back and hear what Brahmah has to say to the three representatives. Kanchana returns to the garden and collects all of her gear. She walks into the Keep and reclaims her previous room temporarily. Kanchana disarms, cleans up and prepares for the upcoming feast.

Kanchana seriously doubts that the clergy has any good intent. She thinks that there were too many Taurs disembarking for anything friendly or peaceful to be the case.

Gecktar
Tuesday February 10th, 2004 4:59:23 PM

Putting his hand on the shouldere of Vasch : "You're right my friend... And there is all we need if an ecape is required. Just hope that we don't have to take them."
Then putting down his own weaponry he prepare for welcoming the guests.

Talks...eeerrrr Demands. (DM Jim)
Tuesday February 10th, 2004 6:03:26 PM

The three heads of the three groups have their individual men set up camp. Each group of tuars sets up seperate camps as they stare each other down. With a last bit of orders to thier commanders the three representatives enter the keep.

After getting to the feast hall, they each take a seat but seperate from one another. The seem loath to sit too close to one another, it would seem that old habits die hard. None of them touch the food or drinks that are brought in by Michael and Lonia.

Without so much as a by your leave the minotuar representative stands and lays his hands on the table. "My name is Frith, a high priest of Domi, and you will hear my demands at this time. It is a decree from the High Clergy of Imod." He waits to see if this sounds impressive to any of The Chosen before continueing. "The Chosen have been brought up on the following charges against the minotaur people. 1) The murder of almost a whole village of our race and then the killing of more when making thier escape. 2) For their heresy in protecting a false prophet or saviour of the taur people. 3) For the endnagerment of all the taur races for thier own selfish goals and name. 4) The endangerment of innocents in the fight inside Castle Violet's streets." He stops to let all that sink in before he says anything else. After a little bit longer he continues. "As such the High Clergy of Imod requires the surrender of the two children to prove or disprove the claims. The Chosen will also surrender themselves into our custody to stand trial before the High Clergy of Imod." With his piece said he takes a seat, a look of conviction on his face.

With that the centaur representative stands and snorts. "The High Clergy of Imod indeed...they must surrender themselves to the High Clergy of Domi. I am Nent, a high priest of Domi, and I represent the High Clergy of Domi in this matter." He glances to Frith and seems to dare him to interrupt his turn. "The Chosen will surrender themselves into my custody. The charges are as follows against them. 1) For their heresy in protecting a false prophet or saviour of the taur people. 2) For the murder of several of the taur races. 3) For subverting the peoples of this keep into their cause to promote false saviors." With that he takes his seat as well and waits to see what the liontaur representative will have to say, though knowing that only the centaurs have a case.

The liontaur representative stands and bows to his opponents, with mock courtesy. "My colleuges have brought interesting charges to support thier claims." He turns to The Chosen and his eyes narrow as he scans the room. "My name is Lunth and I am here on behalf of the High Clergy of Tomi to see that all of you are brought back to be tried." He bares his teeth in a smile as he watches the gasps from those attending, the staff that is. "The Chosen are charged with heresy as my colleuges have stated, but we believe that the child maybe the real thing." Any smiles this may have brought to The Chosen is quickly wiped away with his next statement. "But as such as his progeny is...he should be with his people. Taught our ways so that he can lead us into the promised time." His smile widens as he continues to hold eyes with The Chosen. "Vrurt will be turned over to us for her crimes in seduction of one of out race, thus killing him. The Chosen are to be tried for thier crimes against our race as they killed a hunting party of liontaurs for no reason." He takes a seat with a smile still on his face.

It is apparent from the looks on the representatives faces that they all could start an arguement any minute. They seem to only be holding thier thought and opinions at the moment for The Chosen to reply and surrender.

Upthel and Trinl seem ready to draw swords on the whole group. It is only the priestess Ginal that holds them back, by placing her hand on thier shoulders. "Easy..this is The Chosen's fight...we will support them when the time comes." This is said in a low voice and only the staff standing near hear her. Veria nods once as she lays hand on the hammer at her side.

Brahmah
Tuesday February 10th, 2004 9:24:00 PM

The Captain of the Chosen simply smiles as the charges are read.
"This is not news to us, we've heard these statements before." He snickers. "You are all so sure that your ideals are right, that you fail to see. You are all agreeing that we are your enemy and the churches enemy, when in fact, this meeting has united all of you in a single cause, the Chosen." He grins and waits for response.
"The food is safe." He adds, grabbing a hunk of bread and slaps a slice of meat.

Taric
Wednesday February 11th, 2004 2:33:16 AM

Taric listens to the demands, but hears nothing too different from the letters they had seen before. He doesn't sit down at the table, nor does he eat or drink. He keeps himself in the background so he can be most valuable whenever they need to make some kind of escape or in case an argument started. With the ongoing tension between the three representatives he would almost bet his head on the latter.

Leets
Wednesday February 11th, 2004 3:10:53 AM

Already "sitting" at the table, Leets pours some wine in his cup and lift it, glancing the three guests.

"I am Leets Talric of the Talric tribe, son of ,the stallion Cyrus of the Talric tribe, and of Rowena of the Talric tribe, paladin and priestess of Domi. I have been learning Domi's ways with the very wise Astachos of Wemic Island, and I'm a paladin of Domi myself, Chosen of our Allmighty Lord and Father."

"And before anything, let me call Domi's attention and goodness on this table and guests."

With ancient words of clerical power that every guest must know, Leets casts "bless" on the people who are here.

"Now, I can barely say something new about your words...I could only add that it sounds like a terrible loss of time."

"As said, your very presence and your charges will call for the same answers from us, I fear. However, you've made this journey so far, and I will try to bring some light on those facts..."

"First, concerning the charge of murdering a whole village, and more while escaping, I can only say that we are not responsible, and thus not guilty, for this. As far as what I've seen is true, this terrible slaughter was the work of a group of evil wemics."

"Concerning the false prophet. Well...It's a true one in fact. It sounds like the scriptures have been misunderstood, but you're as familiar as me with this, and you know that we have to talk about it before anything. My idea, and I will recall it several times, is that some kind of evil force, probably Marteaus, is behind this misinterpretations. But let's see this later, we've all the night."

"Third thing, concerning the endangerment of the Taur people. I fear, noble and holy guests, that the best way to endanger all our people would be to abandon the children to unwise hands - (Leets glances at the Liontaur representative) - whoever wants you to bring the child to your nation wants to kill him, I am sure..."

"Fourth thing, the fight at castle Violet was nothing but a trap, and we would gladly have avoided it if possible. Unfortunately, it was, officially this time, the work of Marteaus church, and you know as well as me that he has no concern for innocents dying...We did our best not to arm townstaurs, and did well if I remember well."

"Finally, to end with this because we have much more interesting things to discuss tonight, we sincerely regret that Taurs fell trying to kill us. I can only say that they were victims of the dark power trying to manipulate us all, the first victims, I would say, of a holy war about to happen..."

"Now that some light has been brought to those events, I would like to explain my point of view."

"During the dark events that brought Marteaus to the Woldian pantheon, we all know that the dark lord failed to eliminate our Allmighty Father, for the sake of the Taur people."

"During some time, I think he has been lurking in shadows, preparing some new plan. And since he failed killing our Lord, my opinion is that he's trying to divide our church, and our people at the same time."

"The dark lord, to my mind, was simply waiting for the right time. This time came, with the birth of the children. By the misinterpretation of the ancient scriptures, and attacks, both physical and moral, against Domi's Chosen, Marteaus has unveiled the very core of his strategy."

"First, negate the future of our church. And second thing: do not allow the Taur races to unite."

Leets finishes his cup of wine, and looks the bottom of the cup for a while.

"Brothers Taurs...Marteaus is trying to divide us. Do not let him even try..."

Flat-top
Wednesday February 11th, 2004 7:38:12 AM

Flat-top sits next to Leets, speaks up "Amen! Borther Leets, Amen! Borther Brahmah, Amen to my Brothers and Sisters of the Chosen. I stand with Domi's Children."
After making his feelings knowned, Flat-top takes a helping of salad, tasting it "Sister Kanchana, you found some new herbs."

Vasch
Wednesday February 11th, 2004 10:16:02 AM

Vasch sits at the table with the other and like those across the table he does not eat any of the food. "Praises to Tomi." He says after Leets speech.

In Wemic he speaks, "Lord Lunth I find it odd that the hunting party you speak of happened to be tracking us near a Minotaur village. Considering who was with us I would venture to guess that they were hunting for us." Vasch pauses and eyes the others then continues. "Lord Lunth you know full well that were we to turn ourselves into you or any other of the representatives, war would begin. The fate of the Chosen and our charges are only something that Tomi may decide, not the will of misguided clergy and their struggles for power."

Gecktar
Wednesday February 11th, 2004 12:35:48 PM

"I will conclude the speach of our friend Leets by another point."
"Imagine a Taur, father of three children. If this taur by a way or another comes to become a murderer... He must be judged and condamned according to the facts he committed and are prouved. We are allright on this point. But for his children... Let me now what you're thinking about. Do we must condamn them because their father was a murderer ?
Humm... I think you're not talking about the right thing. First we must ignore every requests concerning the Children because they are not guilty and as such they must be considered as free taurs like every one of you."

"Now let's talk about the dark schemes of Marteus. And how we can avoid them."

Kanchana
Wednesday February 11th, 2004 3:17:02 PM

Kanchana decides to keep out of politics. She sits next to Flat-top, smiles and says, "yes, I found them growing near the waterfall. I think they have a nice spicy taste. Do you like them?" She helps herself to some salad and bread with cheese and a slice of meat.
Kanchana does however pay attention to what everyone says. She hopes that there will be a peaceful soltution - one where no one else has to die.

The Price is....War. (DM Jim)
Wednesday February 11th, 2004 5:08:19 PM

All three holy men stand almost as one. They look to be extremely upset, though the liontaur is smiling. High Priest Lunth turns to regard the other two priests and speaks. "That is exactly it...the liontaurs will not be held down any longer. We will take the kids with us and prove their divinity as saviors....they will be under our protection." Glancing to The Chosen he smiles a feral smile. "War will be unavoidable at this point as whoever you go with will be attacked by the other two or if you decide to defy the decree then you will bring the liontaurs down on you." Growling lowly in his throat he turns to the other two priests and speaks again. "Tomi is the only true god...his will is supreme...your gods are false...the thought that they are one and the same or that Tomi would like cows and horses is preposterious." With that he makes his way to the door of the feast hall, it is evident that he is leaveing. "You have till tomorrow morning to make up your mind Chosen...then we take this keep."

High Priest Frith's hands clench into fists that turn white as the liontaur goes on. "You will not have the child...she is part minotaur and thus will be raised by us minotaurs." A smile plays across his face as he regards the liontaur. "Yes...war it is then...it has always been that the hooves and paws were a lower class than us." He turns to the centaur and snorts too. "The minotuars are tired of your self righteous ways...Domi is the one true god if only you two could see it." He turns to The Chosen and snorts as well as he glares them down. "You will stand trial for your crimes against our race....you will have till tomorrow morning as well from me." He stomps out of the keep to rally his commander and men.

Nent lowers his head and shakes his hands. "Imod help us in this time of war." He looks upon The Chosen and shakes his head. "Look at what you have done with your ways and beliefs." He glances to the liontaur and laughs lightly. "Your kind are nothing more than savages who cannot see past the end of your nose...no Imod will brings us victory against you and you will see the light." He then turns to the minotaur eyes sparkling with hidden secrets. "You have always been a race of warriors...war is all you know...but we centaurs will not back down from you." Looking to the heavens he shakes his fist in the air. "Imod will strike down those that would dare defile his Chosen." With a last look to The Chosen he nods and then makes his way out with parting words. "Tomorrow morning it is...blood will be spilt tomorrow for the cause of right and good."

All three representatives have left the keep and the doors have been bared by Upthel and Trinl. Michael and Lonia have retired for the day, Michael to the garden and Lonia to her room. Ginal starts to walk out of the feast hall with a sad look on her face. "They know not what they do...they are blinded by pride and hate." She then leaves to the temple to pray for the strength to do what she must. Veria steps forward to the table and looks to The Chosen. "You realize that you cannot give yourselves up or the children...you will not be allowed to live." She turns to leave but leaves them another thing to think about. "Whichever one gets the children will most likely use them to thier own advantage....not an easy choice." She retires to the forge were she begins to work a blade that sets on the anvil.

Toros
Wednesday February 11th, 2004 5:09:35 PM

Most of the events that are the subject of charges and the dispute ongoing about them are still something that Toros does not have so much information, so most of the time he is in a position to listen, think and habitually eat with discomfort.

Kenisha
Wednesday February 11th, 2004 5:14:31 PM

Kenisha nods in approval of Leet's words.

She turns to the Wemic leader and asks, "We have heard all of you refer to an old prophecy, but none of you have said exactly what the prophecy states. You say that the child of Vrurt is male. In that you are misinformed. Both Vrurt's and my own are females. I would like to hear exactly what this prophecy says from at least one of you, please."

Kenisha
Wednesday February 11th, 2004 5:19:48 PM

OOC: Ignore the post above from me. I was typing it even as DM Jim was posting him. <sigh>

Kenisha shakes her head in shock and sadness. "And I still don't know what ancient manuscripts and prophecies they are all talking about. Can any of you tell me from what ancient nonsense all this grief springs from?"

Flat-top
Wednesday February 11th, 2004 7:22:31 PM

Flat-top Look to Kanchana "The spice is one of my favorite, And it does pick up a salade, But right now I don't fell hungry any more. Kenisha, all of them have been lied to, puff up with twisted faulse prophecies. It would not have change their minds if we showed then the children. Those fools would have started the fight right here. I feel sad for my race, they are wrong." Flat-top get's up and slowly goes to the Heart Chamber and prays for the Unitaurs.

Kanchana
Thursday February 12th, 2004 1:39:46 AM

Kanchana isn't feeling very hungry right now either. She looks at each representative in turn. In a low voice she says, "do you not realize that Imot, Tomi and T-Domi are different names for Our Father? Or do each of you have a symbol for him that is different from this one?" Kanchana lays a piece of cloth with Domi's symbol on it on the table where they can all see it. She feels a little self-conscious at not being able to properly pronounce the Centaur name for Tomi.

Once they have hopefully looked at the symbol she will take it from the table. Kanchana will leave the feast hall shortly after the Wemic representative.

Leets  d20+8=14
Thursday February 12th, 2004 2:43:10 AM

The Centaur paladin remains toughtful as the three ones have left.

"My friends, at least when I hear such things I'm glad to be among you."

"Kenisha, I would gladly explain what are those prophecies about, but I'm no expert myself...All I know is that it can easily be misunderstood, all the more because the texts are difficult..." (Knowledge religion 14).

"As for what's happening outside, it's obvious that even if they want to come and take us tomorrow, they'll have to fight each other before...A couple of weeks ago, I would have tried to talk to the soldiers so that we don't have a slaughter on this island, but I'm seriously tired of such behaviours."

"Let's focus on the children. Our ennemy could try to do something during the battle."

"And about what will happen outside, Domi warned us..."

Brahmah
Thursday February 12th, 2004 4:23:30 AM

Brahmah gathers the Chosen into the Heart Chamber to talk with them.
"To Hells with laws, rules and prophecies. The children need to remain safe. They need to be hidden. We need to do that. The Keep must be gaurded tonight, I feel the wemic will try something, they are naucturnal hunters, right?"
He adds.
"It almost sounds like the minotaurs are on our side." He smiles with pride at that.

Vasch
Thursday February 12th, 2004 9:23:28 AM

Vasch stands in the Heart Chamber with the others. "I think this qualifies and going badly. I'm willing to fight, but I don't think we could win; flight is our only option at this point." The sour taste can be heard in his voice as he speaks of flight. Let's make what preparations we can quickly and catch some sleep before nightfall."

Taric
Thursday February 12th, 2004 10:26:15 AM

Taric nods at Brahmah's mention of keeping a watch.

"It would be even better to also guard the room where the children are staying. That way they will have a hard time surprising us. I'll volunteer to be on that watch."

Brahmah
Thursday February 12th, 2004 4:40:27 PM

"Taric, your illusions will come in handy tonight." Smiles the Captain.

Early the Next Morning. (DM Jim)
Thursday February 12th, 2004 6:01:39 PM

That night the staff sits down with The Chosen and give thier opinions, though a couple do not speak. Ginal and Veria are the first two to speak. Ginal starts out the conversation. "We have all talked it over and want you to leave through the back passageway early in the morning." Veria nods her head as she smiles to The Chosen. "It has been a pleasure to spend some time with you all again...we will care for the keep in your absence." Upthel and Trinl bow slightly to The Chosen placing thier hands over thier hearts. "We will hold them at bay for as long as possible...it will not be a waste and we will not see the children in the hands of those that only seek to use."

Shortly after the talks have started Dunin marches into the feast hall as well, smiling widely. "There is a ship off to the side of the island...it will be waiting for you and take you to safety." He looks to The Chosen and shakes his head to stall any arguements. "You have more important things to worry about." He rubs the head of little Domisha as she passes chasing a musical ball that floats. Ginal looks back up and questions The Chosen. "What of the heart...it may not be safe here." She leaves the thought hanging.

The next morning at the time of your surrender to one of the taurs, there is a big commotion. In the harbor the ships have started firing at each other. Those outside the gates come awake and it is evident that each side thinks that the other started it. A great fight breaks out among the three races and soon some are laying dead on the field. Some of the troops break off to start pounding on the keep door, trying to knock it down. It would seem that the High Priests still have a little control.

Leets
Friday February 13th, 2004 2:39:51 AM

Hearing what's happening outside, Leets shakes his head...

"Even against a handful like us, they are not able to do something efficient together...I wonder what will happen when Marteaus will strike..."

"Well, with such chaos outside, I think we could leave all together. I already hate the idea of leaving the Reunited Heart here, We will not let any one of you behind us."

"The Chosen bever let one of them behind..."

"We should push heavy things agaisn't the door so that we gain time...There are those wood statues I carved, and...Oh if we need more time, I'm sure Managarm could lead them on a wrong track. Right my dog?"

Managram(Ceil)
Friday February 13th, 2004 5:26:37 AM

When Managran hears his name mention by Leets, he picks up his ears 'Oh! Yes! Yes! What do I do? what do I do?' the dog is more than willing to please Leets.

Flat-top
Friday February 13th, 2004 5:36:59 AM

Flat-top is sad, "Now Brahmah, I understand how you felth when you went into that room. But I have always done Domi's wishes and will not stop now. I found a couple of small back pack for the little ones to put their toys in. It will be play for them and will think that they are almost grown up." Flat-top bends down and kisses the top of their heads, telling them to pack their toys because it's was time to go.
But if you look closely there's moister in the corner of Flat-top eyes.

Kenisha and Domisha
Friday February 13th, 2004 6:22:07 AM

Domisha slowly, and to be perfectly honest not at all happy about it, picks up her toys one by one and puts them in the pack.

Kenisha tries to put a happy face on this as well, but isn't succeeding very well. Knowing that time could be of the essense, she helps pick up the toys, but this just makes Domisha whine; stomping her hooves and pouting.

Keniha looks around apologeticly at the rest of the Chosen. "Sorry."

Kanchana
Friday February 13th, 2004 1:29:09 PM

Kanchana rises early the next morning, and upon hearing something about leaving the Keep she gathers her gear and is ready to leave.

Hearing Kenisha's apology she walks over and gives her a hug and says, "you don't need to apologize Kenisha. No one among us is angry at you or the children."

Toros  d20=7
Friday February 13th, 2004 6:08:09 PM

Toros will help for the preparations to depart. He will also prepare these spells.

Cleric
level 0
(3) detect magic, virtue, resistance

level 1
(1+1)
shield of faith, protection from evil

domain spell- war
magic weapon

He is surprised about the start off the war between the three races. When their leaders declared the war in the dinner he had thought it was against the Chosen and they could be able to keep their hostility against each other under control to enjoy the delight of fighting for a holy war. However it is certain that even they have little control on how the events develop, which makes him worry more. Especially the behaviour of the wemic leader does not leave his mind, questinoning how he can represent his people like that.

Toros is quickly ready to do whatever the others will decide to do. However he feels an urge to know more about the war among the races, their causalties and the current conditions of power. The attackers to the gate may be from specifically one race. Or one of the races might be in great need against the other. Such happenings may change the course of actions, as the Chosen can play an important role to affect the ongoing events, instead of being have to escape as fugitives from now on.

<<Can Toros or any of us understand more about the war and the attack on the Keep. Who are winning, losing and attacking etc? I rolled a die but I think what is important is the timing. If we leave before the war and attack we will not know much about it. If we are still around we can learn more about it>>

Taric
Saturday February 14th, 2004 1:11:20 AM

Taric already expected the departure, so he grabs his backpack, loads up his stuff and joins the others. He then asks Brahmah and the other Chosen if they need something of a distraction to make a getaway or not.

If they need one, Taric will climb up the wall, making sure nobody sees them, and will then on the far end of the island, opposite from the way they will actually go, conjure the images of Brahmah, Kenisha and the two children, since Taric is sure they will be recognized by the other Taurs. He then makes them move like they are sneaking around, trying to find a way of the island.

The Captain scoops up his equipment and prepares to get out of the Keep, right away.

**His prepared spell is Longstrider.**

Vasch
Monday February 16th, 2004 9:04:16 AM

Not owning a great deal, Vasch grabs his pack and is ready to go. "Is there any way to give us concealment when we go?" He says looking at the Chosen spellcasters.

"I would also suggest that Leets and Flat-top carry the children. They're both strong and move faster than most of us." He looks to Brahmah for conformation. "Also avoid opponents we meet the objective is the boat. There is no doubt that the wemics, as well as the others, are likely to have scouts all over waiting for us to make our move."

Escape from Hearthold Keep. (DM Jim)
Monday February 16th, 2004 12:24:32 PM

The staff stays behind to cover your escape while The Chosen slip out the secret passage in the back. The are not worried about anyone spotting them yet as the keep is between them and the horde.

You hear the breaking of a door from back inside and then the clash of steel on steel. That is the last thing that you hear as you start out to the east and the ship.

As you make your way to the ship you notice that there are no guards or trackers to hamper your steps as you make it to the ship. Breaking the heavy underbrush you spot the green flag with the white pixie wings on it. The GossamerWing was the ship waiting for you...this is the ship that Dunin had gotten to take you from the island.

You notice several of the females roaming the decks of the small ship, armed and searching both the beach and the seas.

[I take it that the heart was also brought with you as well. Did not see any mention of it by name anyways.]

Toros
Monday February 16th, 2004 1:31:56 PM

It was hard to leave the Harthold Keep for Toros, he has started to get accustomed to the life and people there, and the thinking that what would happen to those that they left behind would be indeed disturbing and painful on their escape. However seeing the GossamerWing gives him a relief at least for that moment. He will do anything that is asked from him for help, or that becomes the opinion of the majority. <<And please excuse his role player for three days at most, in case>>

Flat-top
Monday February 16th, 2004 1:38:53 PM

Flat-top takes Vrurt and her Melanen on his back after they went through the secert passage way. Once on his back, Flat-top runs for the dock, but come to a dead stop. "OH! By all that is Holy! Leets tell me Who has the heart??".

Gecktar
Monday February 16th, 2004 4:12:52 PM

"I've taken the Heart" says Gecktar to Flat-Top. I feel that as a true representant of the church of Domi this was my task to protect it against the fools.

"Now we must find a new haven for it. It will be dangerous to carry it at all time"

Kanchana  d20+10=18 d20+14=30
Monday February 16th, 2004 5:42:14 PM

Kanchana covers the rear of the party and does her best to conceal all signs of the groups' passage. She notices a lack of pursuers, but will keep to her task just in case.

(Knowledge Nature 18, Survival 30)

((I do not know what to roll to conceal tracks and such so I took a chance on Knowledge Nature and Survival being hopefully likely))

Kenisha
Monday February 16th, 2004 10:19:48 PM

We must find a way to stop this madness." Kenisha says vehemently. "But first we have to find a place we can keep the children and the heart safe."

When the group gets to the beach, Kenisha steels herself for the dash across the open exposed area, hoping they can make it to the ship without needed to shed Taur blood.

Taric
Tuesday February 17th, 2004 1:24:42 AM

Taric stays in the back with Kanchana, ready to cover their escape if needed. His mind is working hard on one of the image spells to help them get onto the GossamerWing and away from the Hearthold Keep and the good people who lived there and helped them with the highest price. A moment of sadness shows in Taric's eyes, but shaking his head, he concentrates on the task at hand, making sure to keep the children alive and the heart safe.

Leets
Tuesday February 17th, 2004 3:28:45 AM

The Centaur paladin takes a couple of seconds to catch his breath as the Gossamer Wing appears.

"Good thing...Let's waste no time, I'm glad we leave, although I hate the idea of leaving the Hearthold Keep."

"Gecktar, you can keep the Reunited Heart, we already brought it there, and you'll have the honor to carry it too this way..."

"Well, let's go...Domi, let to trap stand on our way to this ship, please..."

Brahmah
Tuesday February 17th, 2004 4:02:03 AM

As the groups makes their exit, Brahmah casts Entangle from his tattoo to obscure, or help obscure any trail. Hopefully this helps Taric and Kanchana with their attempts.

Brahmah is happy that Gecktar grabbed the Heart, however, he's not sure whether removing the Heart from it's safe place was such a great idea. He states his opinion. "The heart is not safe with us, believe it or not."

"Let's move. The Gossamer is waiting. Cheer up Chosen."

Vasch
Tuesday February 17th, 2004 8:47:20 AM

As he and the other Chosen make their way through the tunnels and into the open Vasch keeps a steady eye back. It has him a little nervious, even more so considering the circumstances, when they reach the beach, and the Gossamer, unhindered.

Breaking the tree line and hitting the sand, Vasch has his bow at the ready as the others, then himself, climb into the boat.

I don't like this. Not one bit at all. Too easy.

Rowboats to the GossamerWing. (DM Jim)
Tuesday February 17th, 2004 8:22:30 PM

Three rowboats are standing on the beach ready for The Chosen to be taken to the boat. The ladies that stand at the boats smile as The Chosen approach and indicate the boats. "We are ta take ya to da boat." The get in and wait for you all to get in the boats as well.

They take you to the GossamerWing at a quick pace and soon have you aboard. The quickly and easily have the boats stored in short order too. Captain Lira smiles to The Chosen and cuts them a curt bow. "Welcome aboard my ship again." You notice that her pirate speech has taken a leave.

Looking to Yondana she nods to her to take them below deck. "You can have your old room back and then we can discuss what it is that you need." Yondana motions you all to follow her to the lower deck.

You get settled in rather fast as you had little to stow away. Now you feel that you need to make plans for something. Maybe the good Captain will have some ideas??

Kanchana  d20+2=6 d20+2=13 d20+3=4 d20+5=8
Wednesday February 18th, 2004 2:09:49 AM

Kanchana steps gingerly into the 'little' row-boat, and places herself into the middle as best she can. Kanchana stares nervously at the very close water as the row-boat moves towards the ship.
When she climbs up to the boat Kanchana has a death-grip on whatever it is that she has to climb up (I assume that we have to climb aboard). Kanchana practically bends down and kisses the deck when she is safely on board.

Kanchana doesn't immediately recognize that Captain Lira's pirate accent is gone. She follows Yondana below deck, and leaves her gear there. Then Kanchana darts bacl topside and watches the coastline for pursuers.

(Eek! Climb check 6 (I rolled just in case), strength 13 (to hold on 13), Search 4, Spot 8)

Leets
Wednesday February 18th, 2004 2:50:02 AM

"Thank you captain for answering our call in a difficult siuation once more...It's truly Domi himself who must have put you on our way..."

Leets will install the few things he brought with him in his room, and then join the others for the meeting.

"Well...Once more, the question is to know where we can go now...The doors to all Taur islands seem to be closed, and I've been wondering..."

"Maybe humans could bring some help with this situation. Their eyes won't be veiled by racial struggling, and their look on our scriptures are generally more open-minded...It's a racial feature of theirs I think..."

Brahmah
Wednesday February 18th, 2004 2:59:32 AM

Noticing the three boats on the shore, Brahmah looks around curiously and cautiously, suspiciously. But then realizes everything is okay, for now.

They board and rush below deck, taking the Heart with them.

"Captain, what do you know? What do you have for us?" He asks expectantly.

Kenisha
Wednesday February 18th, 2004 6:08:04 AM

Kenisha thanks Lira and her crew when she reaches the deck and says a silent prayer to Domi.

"You could be right, Leets." she says in agreement with the paladin's assessment of humans. "They also might not care what happens to us. But I'm sure if we find some human followers of Domi they could at least give us some insights."

Flat-top
Wednesday February 18th, 2004 8:11:52 AM

Flat-top feeling better about the Heart "Phuuu! Domi chose the right one for this Holy Job. Come let's go.
Flat-top let's his pansengers off and helps them into the boat. Then he helps them up the the ladder. Now it was Flat-top's turn to go up the ladder. With great diffaculty Flat-top make it up the ladder. The little one were looking over the side, laughing and making sugestion on how to put his hooves on the wooden slats.
"I'll get the both of you, Just wait ti'll I get up there." needless to say that the little ones had gone with their mothers to the cabin.
Flat-top Shakeks the hand Of the Captain, "Thank-you again,Captain Lira." Turning to the first mate, "Come on, Yondana, I forgot the way"

Managram(Ceil)
Wednesday February 18th, 2004 8:24:13 AM

Managram follow Leets every where, even into the row boat, but watches his master strougle going up the ladderinto the boat. he thinks 'I'm not doing that!" He *Blinks* off the row boat, then *Blinks* again next to Leets, the dog think 'That the better way!"

Gecktar
Wednesday February 18th, 2004 10:35:10 AM

"One more time I think your words are wise dear Leets. Personnaly I can't see any other option. We need to find Domi's servant among the human people. But I'm open to other ideas if anyone has one to propose."

Vasch
Wednesday February 18th, 2004 12:10:26 PM

Vasch climbs aboard the Gossamer Wing. "I hate the water." He says. I really hate water!

He thanks the crew as he sees them for their aid in these troubling times.

In the discussion of what to do next, Vasch voices his opinion. "Bringing humans into the affairs of taurs...there has to be another way." Vasch says the frustration is heard well in his voice. "The factions won't appreciate the interference of the non-taur races in this matter. It may even increase hostilities." His shoulders sag, "But unfortunately I don't see any other way. We should speak to the other sects of Tomi."

Toros(ceil)
Wednesday February 18th, 2004 5:11:33 PM

Once on the deck,Toros look over the side of the ship, "OHhhh! on the water again. Hello Captain, My I go to our cabin, Please??" Off he goes the the cabin. " I hate water, Tomi made water for drinking!" and off to his corner he goes.

The Captain's Idea. (DM Jim)
Wednesday February 18th, 2004 7:27:43 PM

Captain Lira just shrugs off the thanks as she dips a bow to The Chosen. "I don't like to see anyone getting the wrong end of a saber...unless they deserve it of course." She winks at the lot of you as she says that last little bit. "I for one believe you are innocent in my gut....and I always go with my gut." She lets them be led down to the lower deck and her warroom for them to stay in once again.

Captain Lira looks at the group as they gather for their meeting. She is surprised and a little flattered that they would ask her opinion or if she has any ideas. "My first order of business would be to get the children somewhere safe...once that is done you can worry about yourselves." She states it matter of factly as she looks towards her own boat again to make sure everything is running smoothly. She seems as if she has more to add but holds her tongue till you have talked it out and come to some kind of a decision.

You have made an excellent getaway from Hearthold Keep and no pursuit has been spoted yet. The two drow elf twins are in the crowsnest and keeping a sharp lookout.

Leets
Thursday February 19th, 2004 3:42:06 AM

"I understand your opinion Vasch...I would have prefered to deal with Taurs only, but I seriously think we need another, neutral point of view in this case..."

Thougthful, Leets is about to say something else, hesitates, but finally says it...

"Well...I had another idea, but it could be dangerous..."

"If we need another, and neutral point of view, we could surrender to Pantheon clergymen...They are fair and always bring justice...But I never met Taur Clergymen of Pantheon: maybe we could search for them..."

Leets scratches Managarm's ear, and waits for his fellows answer...He's not confident at all himself...

Kenisha
Thursday February 19th, 2004 6:58:30 AM

"We need to stop this new Taur War before it gets any further along than it already is." Kenisha says after pacing back and forth. "I still say we have to get ahold of each of the races' version of this ancient scripture or prophecy, whatever it is."

Brahmah
Thursday February 19th, 2004 7:29:58 AM

"I agree that the humans maybe an option, but I'm no sure their the best option. I think that getting in contact with the mainland taurs might b a better thing to do... though, letting the human know might be an idea." Brahmah says.

"Getting the babies safe is a good idea. I agree."

"Kenisha, I think your idea is superb."

Flat-top  d20=18
Thursday February 19th, 2004 8:09:06 AM

"I agree!" said Flat-top, "As the Captain Lira said "Take care of the Children first, then we can take care of ourselves. Leets is your Dam(mother) alive? She may know of this Clergy of Pantheon." Flat-top turns to Captain Lira, "Captain Lira, you have done so much for us already, you have sailed these waters often, is there a place where we can make these Special Children Safe? While we try to straiten this mess out?. Don't worry those taurs back there, It will take them a few days to realise that we are not there on the Island and neither is the highly prized Heart." Flat-top smiles at her with the best smile he can muster.

OOC:Rolling for Char. 18:)

Kanchana
Thursday February 19th, 2004 5:39:03 PM

Kanchana still believes that approaching humans and not Taurs is their best hope, but she doesn't bother saying anything about that. She thinks that maybe she is just afraid of how any non-Chosen Taurs might act; or just plain paranoid.
"Let's just hope that the mainland Church of Tomi has some sort of copy or recording concerning Taur prophecies."
Kanchana approaches Captain Lira and quietly asks her (in a whisper); "Captain your speech sounds somehow different. Do you have a cold??"

A Suggestion. (DM Jim)
Thursday February 19th, 2004 9:13:54 PM

Captain Lira smiles as she is asked about her ideas on the subject. She glances to the others and shakes her head in understanding. "I know of a man that will help out...he is a seer and could find a safe place to hide the children while you take care of other business." She looks to Brahmah as he seems the most likely to voice an objection, besides Kenisha of course.

She plunges on as she can see some objections to some of her plan. "He is an extremely old man that has helped out others in the past. Best of all he has no ties really to the outside world...having abandoned them...he is a hermit of sorts." She smiles as she thinks of the times she has spent at Zethen's little island. "Besides he lives on an uncharted island." She chuckles at the last as she sees your faces.

When Kanchana questions her privately by ear about her accent she just smiles. "Actually I am noble born but turned to a life on the seas...sanctioned by the church to stop pirates." That last little bit explains how she got the wood that she did, though most likely by illegal means. "My speech and accent is all put on...mostly for others so I drop it around friends."

Taric
Friday February 20th, 2004 12:45:28 AM

Taric nods as the captain's idea.

"Sounds good. If you're sure you can trust him, I think we can trust him as well."

Leets
Friday February 20th, 2004 4:36:58 AM

Leets nods at Lira's suggestion.

"This may be a good idea...Wherever we go, I don't know if we'll be welcome or not, and Iwould prefer to know the children in a safe place..."

"But I guess Kenisha has to decide about this..."

"As for where we should go, I think you should have the final word Captain Brahmah!"

Kenisha
Friday February 20th, 2004 6:07:10 AM

Kenisha thinks about it for a moment then says with a nod, "Lets go see this hermit."

Flat-top
Friday February 20th, 2004 6:30:41 AM

"By Domi's Sandles, you did it again, Captain Lira. This Hermit sounds like a very good salution, Mother Vaurt, Little Melanen and Domisha. If Kenisha want to come along with us. What do you think Captain Brahmah? the only thing left is the Heart? And that's for the cleric among us to thinks about??" Flat-top now feel that he can do his best in any fight.

Kanchana
Friday February 20th, 2004 5:22:47 PM

Kanchana sees nothing wrong with visiting a hermit. She thinks to herself, "huh, any port in a storm."

Brahmah
Friday February 20th, 2004 6:23:02 PM

"Let's meet this hermit, then we'll decide how to proceed. Besides, the Children have to like him, if they don't, usually a childs instinct for a person is a good judge. Let the babies decide. Vrurt needs her say too.
Hey, what about that dryad? Nah, her island is too unsecure for hiding."
"Let's go see your hermit friend, Lira." He grins at her.

"Hmmmm, Kanchana, maybe this hermit is a 'Warden of the Woods' too. Maybe he can help with your practices?"

A Decision. (DM Jim)
Friday February 20th, 2004 7:38:39 PM

Captain Lira smiles as The Chosen make a decision on her old friend. Turning to Yondana where she stands in the room she nods to her. Yondana slips out the door to make ready the journey and get the ship set. "He has take himself into self-imposed exile...he will help with no worries." She laughs lightly as she thinks of old Zethen. "He grew tired of the ways of the world long ago...though he does keep in contact with some of his friends." She glances around at the group and nods her her in understanding.

She takes the time now to leave the room and let The Chosen get some rest and eat. The cook comes in with some platters containing meats, cheese, bread and fruits of many kinds. "The Captain said to make sure you got this food and drink then to get some sleep." She starts to leave and then stops at the door. "Do you need anything else? The Captain also said it would take a week to reach the island." She then leaves to either get anything they request or to go about her regular duties.

[I will break the sea voyage to the island into a two to three day post so that you can talk over stuff, concerning the children and the heart. This will also give more to for character sheets to get in to me.]

Toros
Saturday February 21st, 2004 10:28:29 PM

Poor Toros could not feel himself very well this time sailing on the sea, and could not leave his bed for the first part of the sea voyage. Fortunately he has started to feel better and appear around.

((Thank you very much, nice to be together with you again. I have finally returned from my trip, but it was sooo tiring.))

Gecktar
Sunday February 22nd, 2004 5:04:36 AM

"Sure, taking the children in a safe place is a good idea, but Kenisha, I hope this place is not too far... Because this means that you'll not see your daughter often... I also feel sad being separated from them as they are little prodigious... I don't ever imagine what you feel in your heart."

Vasch
Sunday February 22nd, 2004 9:26:01 AM

Vasch spends a lot of time below deck. On the occasions he does venture up top he moves through the center of the vessel, if possible.

...anywhere sounds good to me...just get me on dry land...

Kanchana
Sunday February 22nd, 2004 4:22:25 PM

Kanchana smiles at Brahmah. "Yes maybe he is. I hadn't thought of that. The childrens' safety has precedence though."
She sighs and thinks "I will not be getting any work done on plants here on the seas anyway!"

Taric
Monday February 23rd, 2004 12:27:39 AM

Taric spends most of the time on the deck, enjoying the salty breeze and the waves. Finally a chance to relax for a bit since they left the keep. He watches all the daily activities go by and if anybody asks for his help, he will gladly step in. But otherwise he stays mostly in his role as observer, the role his mother had shown him. Don't judge, just observe and then draw your own conclusion.

Kenisha
Monday February 23rd, 2004 12:39:53 AM

Kenisha gets a pained look on her face at Gecktar's words, but doesn't say anything at the moment. She does however spend as much time as possible with the children.

(OOC- No surgery on my spine in the immediate future, but I am going to be going through a super-intense form of physical therapy. I'll find out more on Monday, but from the looks of things I may have to drop out of the game for a while. Letting Kenisha stay on the Hermit's island with the kids and Vrurt would be a good place to do this.)

Brahmah
Monday February 23rd, 2004 4:38:47 AM

Brahmah doesn't like the idea of the children staying there, but it may be the safest.

"Kenisha, maybe you should stay on the island. Not only for the Wee One, but as extra security, just in case, Domi help us."

Brahmah mopes and pouts at the thought of his friends/babies departing and staying on the island, but thinking back to the Keep and his 'self-imposed exile', he doesn't remain depressed long when the babbling of Taric and the horrible singing of Kanchana rings back in his mind. *He shudders.*

He has new friends to get to know. Gecktar, Toros and all these fine sea-worthy ladies. He grins wide. "Can't be too pushy, the Captain said, 'Whoever messes with her girls, has to deal with her.'"

Flat-top
Monday February 23rd, 2004 8:01:01 AM

Flat-top is witherling Two new toys for the little ones, one of the toys hour shape, except there a point on the bottom. The next one is pare shape and theres ridges on the bulbof the toy. Flat-top takes two peaces of twine, wraps it on both toys and gives them a snap, then throws them on the floor (they spins like tops). "That's for you two, now enjoy." He tells the little ones.
To Kenisha,he tell her, "You know that Brahmah is right, those little four hoves and two hoves are too young to be away from their mothers, you two mothers sleep on the problem, see what Domi tell you. If you chose to stay with the babies We will understand." Flat-top kisses Kenisha forhead.

The GossamerWing. (DM Jim)
Monday February 23rd, 2004 9:40:21 PM

The next few days pass uneventfully for all those aboard the ship. Everyone goes about thier own business and The Chosen are asked to chip in here and there.

The only thing that causes any commotion is a main rope that snaps. One of the sailors is caught by it and thrown over the side. She is saved but a remains a little shaken as she goes about her business. Shortly after though she is relieved from duty by the Captain.

Captain Lira pops in only to see how The Chosen are doing and chat with them. She also makes herself available if they have any questions for her.

Toros
Tuesday February 24th, 2004 2:09:40 AM

<<Get well soon Dear Kenisha>>

"Ah I will miss the chidren, it has been delightful to see them around"

Toros will visit the injured sailor to wish her good health and see whether he may do something for her.

Leets
Tuesday February 24th, 2004 3:30:16 AM

The Centaur paladin spends most of his time watching the horizon line, he's quite worried, because as soon as the three "guests" realized the Chosen had left, they probably sailed right behind them...However, nobody seems to be in sight right now...

"Oh! I wish we could have spent more time on the ground...If it goes on, we'll become seataurs, with fish tails..."

"You too Managarm, would prefer to run after the sheeps, right? Take this..."

Leets will give his usual bone to Managarm...

Managram(Ceil)
Tuesday February 24th, 2004 5:59:00 AM

Managram sit beside his master's side, listening to his every word. But when Leets gave him his bone, he clasp on it, then went to hide under a bunk (So the little ones would not take that bone away from him).

Paw'caw(Ceil)
Tuesday February 24th, 2004 6:03:20 AM

Paw'caw was in the crow nest when the accedent happen to that crew member, the bird had taken to the sky and circle as the where she was in the water, untill she was resqued. She then fished and ate dinner.

Flat-top  d20+4=24
Tuesday February 24th, 2004 6:12:43 AM

Flat-top was mending ropes when the accedent happen. He rush to take the life saver, looking as to where she was in the water (good chance Paw'caw was marking the spot in the water), Flat-top threw the floating doughnut to her. "At least she has something to hold on to." he tell the taur standing next to him.

OOC; throwing strenth 24, a natural 20 hits the target.

Kenisha
Tuesday February 24th, 2004 6:22:07 AM

The kids see Managram crawl under the bunk, but when they kneel down to investigate, Kenisha moves in and tells them, "Never corner a dog with a bone, no matter how friendly he's been. He can bite you very hard to protect what's his."

That night Kenisha dreams. In the morning she tells the others. "I think Domi has spoken to me. I dreamt that I was on a shore with Vrurt and the children; waving to the Gossamer Wing as she sailed into a stormy sea. The storm grew worse as the ship sailed out of sight. Just before I awoke, the storm broke. I don't know what the future holds, but my part in it, I think, will be with the children."

(ooc- The Back Care Center is going to be intense and I don't want to hold up the game any. So for the time being, Kenisha's part in this adventure is going to be full-time mom and cheerleader on the sidelines. Things won't get into the full swing until next week, so I'll be able to post up til then without any problems. The good news is that they've had a lot of good results with the program.)

Brahmah
Tuesday February 24th, 2004 6:51:53 AM

Brahmah keeps out of the way on the ship, until he is asked to help.

Kanchana
Tuesday February 24th, 2004 2:30:44 PM

Kanchana spends a lot of time below decks studying and meditating. When the children aren't otherwise engaged or sleeping she tries to teach them a few Wemic words and lets them practice "hunting and ambushing techniques" on her.
Kanchana listens to what Kenisha tells about her dream. "Kenisha it is probably for the best of both you the children and Vrurt that you remain with them. You need more time with your daughter as it is."

((Good luck with the program Marilyn. I hope it helps you heaps.))

The GossamerWing. (DM Jim)
Tuesday February 24th, 2004 6:53:15 PM

The next few days are just fine as well and there are no further accidents. No ships have appeared behind the GassamerWing and it is a safe bet that you put a good deal of distance between you and any who would chase you.

Events go on and Kenisha has a dream that she relays to the others. She has no idea what will be in her future but the others support her in her decisions.

Captain Lira comes to Brahmah later that second night and leans against the rails with him. "We should reach the island in two days...the seas willing." She munches on a piece of dried fish as she continues to stare off into the night sky. "A beautiful sight to be sure."

[Will need to get someone to play Kenisha then when you need someone to take over then Marylin. Do you have anyone specific that you would want to take over for awhile? I can get them set up with a character sheet or you can as needed. My plan will call for your character to be there till the end, but I can do whatever you would prefer.]

[Will keep you in my wishes and prayers. You take it easy then and let me deal with the rest for you. Things will be good once you get back. :)]

Taric
Wednesday February 25th, 2004 12:57:07 AM

Taric enjoys being on the ship, feeling free. Unlike most of the other Chosen he had found out by now. He shrugs and continues to enjoy the moment, for as long as it lasts. Whenever they set foot on land, the troubles always began again.

OOC:
I'll be moving to our new house this week. I'll try to keep posting, but I don't think it will be as frequent as I want it to be.

Gecktar
Wednesday February 25th, 2004 2:45:21 AM

Gecktar is happy to get back on the firm ground. He is not a good swimmer and is always a bit anxious on the boat.
Talking to all Chosen he says "Maybe if the children are safe here could we let the Heart here too. Except if it could be used as a beam leading directly here of course. But what you think about that. The children will be raised in the light of the Heart if it is nearby."

(OOC : good luck Marilyn, all my wishes are with you)

Leets
Wednesday February 25th, 2004 3:41:47 AM

Although he knows Managarm would never hurt the little ones, Leets encourages their mother's advice.

"Kenisha is right you know, even while playing, a dog could bite you more than he would think, and could hurt you..."

Leets will enjoy the peaceful travel, and will prepare his equipment, in the case they meet troubles on their way.

Kenisha
Wednesday February 25th, 2004 6:30:13 AM

Kenisha gets the children to play a rolling game with the balls until Managarm comes out from the bunk. She sees if the dog is willing to come over to play with the children, but doesn't try to force him.

When the subject of the Heart comes up she says, "I think the Heart should stay with the Chosen. It could be an important rallying cry to get the rest of the Taurs to come to their senses."

(OOC- Okay, it seems that Kenisha has to be frog-marched. Anyone want to do it? It could be a few months before I'll be able to play again. Thanks everyone for your good thoughts and all.)

Vasch
Wednesday February 25th, 2004 8:21:33 AM

Vasch is quiet through the entire voyage. When he does come up top he still sits in the center of the ship and watches the others.

Kanchana
Wednesday February 25th, 2004 11:22:21 AM

Kanchana continues her work, and otherwise just tries to make herself useful.

Flat-top
Wednesday February 25th, 2004 11:40:15 AM

Flat-top swabs the deck, chasing the little ones around with the mop. Then he goes and mop the deck where the weimic are resting and working as look outs. "Lifts your paws, dear friends, or you'll get them all wet." he laugh to himself.

OOC: Marilyn, that care of your self, believe me I know pain.

Toros
Wednesday February 25th, 2004 7:45:06 PM

In a convenient time Toros will chat with Captain Lira and Yondana, making jokes about the previous times that they spend time together. He will ask more detailing questions about their past and future to get to know them better and understand what they think of the current situation, and plan for the following days may bring.

The Mysterious Voice. (DM Jim)
Wednesday February 25th, 2004 8:27:07 PM

Much of the last few days have been spent in doing mundane tasks and keeping the ship in shape. Finally Captain Lira comes up on deck and gathers a few of her sailorettes together. "Drop the anchor right here...we should be close to what we seek." She takes out a steel rod and taps it three times, turning in every direction. She then patiently waits for something.

Ten minutes have passed and the sailorettes are patiently waiting for whatever it is that will happen next. Captain Lira steps forward again and strikes the rod another three times in each direction. Murmoring starts to break out on the deck and Lira shoots them a nasty look that more than relays the needed message, shut your mouths...quiet.

Another ten minutes goes by and you suddenly get the feeling that you are not alone anymore. A faint buzzing begins in your head and it increase and changes to a voice. "Who is it that seeks my island?" The voice is not too loud in your head but just enough to give you pause. Lira glances to those around her, knowing that only The Chosen, her and Yondana is hearing anything. "It is I Captain Lira that seeks your island Zethen...I have some people that desperately need your help." You hear what could be a mental sigh and shrug as your outer thoughts are looked into. "I see....hmmmm....very interesting....yes...they may come." You get the feeling of great excitement and a lot of curiuosity in the emotions that come from this Zethen.

A flash of light streaks from out of nowhere to land lightly on the deck of the ship. A small male fairy is standing there looking at the group and Captain Lira. "Good Captain...too long it has been." His eyes sparkle as he rubs his hands together. "You did not by chance bring any of that hard candies again?" His licks his lips as Lira smiles and tosses him a bag. Looking inside he shoots straight up into the air and then lands again on the deck. "Thanks you....thank you....thank you." He then turns to regard The Chosen as he pockets the small bag. He slips the wide brimmed hat of his head and dips into a graceful bow. "Pleased to meet you...guests of my master." He slips back to the ships railing and points to a large flat barge that stands ready. "Hop on and don't worry..you cannot fall off." He sweeps another bow to Captain Lira and then plunks his hat back on his head.

He then leads the ship to the island that is still not apparent in the distance. Vrurt has made an appearance on the deck and will drop lightly onto the barge with her daughter in her arms.

[Ceil - I will send you Kenisha's sheet so that you can take over her for a few.]

[Toros - You are able to find out that Lira is of a noble human family, but she wanted her freedom and became a privateer. She has the ability to keep her ship and crew in good shape even when money is limited. Her family are actually merchants of a big company that works Wold wide. Yondana on the other hand tells you little except that she saved Lira once a long time ago and then joined her crew. She had a great love for the sea and found this to be a great compromise for her life.]

Gecktar
Thursday February 26th, 2004 2:52:51 AM

Gecktar is eager to see this mysterious guest. He will follow Vurt on the barge.

Then talking to the fairy creature : "My name is Gecktar, fervent sevant of Domi, how can we name you ?"

Kenisha
Thursday February 26th, 2004 6:11:58 AM

Kenisha carefully makes her way down to the barge and with the help of one of the others, helps get Domisha down as well.

She introduces herself to the fae creature, "I am Kenisha and this," she places her hand on her daughter's back, "is my daughter, Domisha."

Flat-top
Thursday February 26th, 2004 7:01:22 AM

Flat-top look down at the one that drop lightly down to the barge, he will turns to Kanchama "There's no danger, they they floated down to the barge." He will help Kanchana over the rail and watch her float down. Now he turn to Captain Lira and her crew and salutes them all, he throws his backpack over the rail, then jump the rail, floating to the barge, "Oh! I have to do this more often."

Brahmah
Thursday February 26th, 2004 7:04:57 AM

OOC: Sorry about no Wednesday post, I was visiting with a close friend I haven't seen in some time.

IC:
Brahmah shoots Gecktar a look as if to say, 'Hey, you ALREADY know his name.'
He just shakes his head.
"Pay attention Gecktar." He says under his breath, not trying to embarrass the young Taur.

"Kind Zethen. We thank you for your help. Everyone aboard the barge, we can't keep the Captain from her job.
I'm Brahmah, leader of the Chosen of Domi. We will have time for full introductions later, right now, the longer we stay here, the more his island is in danger."

"Lira, will you return or wait in the area?"

Vasch
Thursday February 26th, 2004 3:03:28 PM

Vasch climbs aboard the barge. "I'll be glad to get on dry land."

Leets
Thursday February 26th, 2004 3:38:20 PM

Leets watches the events with growing amazement, and his eyes sparkle with surprise.

"Captain Lira, the more I watch you do, the more I find reasons to be surprised by such a person..."

"And the more I'm sure it's Domi himself who put you on our way, wherever you come from..."

Leets prepares his backpack, and watches the sea, searching for an island.

"Managarm, it sounds like we are going to find back dry land!"

Paw'caw
Thursday February 26th, 2004 4:01:36 PM

Paw'caw sences that something is going on and fearing for her master, She flies onto Brahmah shoulder, Standing there proud as if to say (Nobody messes with US!).

Managram(ceil)
Thursday February 26th, 2004 4:05:23 PM

Managram listens to Leets, the dog seems to understand the Paladin,"Oh! Boy! Trees! the first thing I'm going to do is water the trees" the dog *Blinks* onto the barg.

Toros
Thursday February 26th, 2004 4:31:41 PM

Seeing the fascinating welcoming of Zethen Toros remembers the visit of Orto, when they were the guests of Captain Lira for the very first time. He wonders whether there might be any relation between Orto, Zelten or other fairy relations, smiling himself with this thinking in mind. And with this smile in his face he introduces himself to this newly met 'gentleman'.

Dwarf Island or Zethen Island. (DM Jim)
Thursday February 26th, 2004 6:45:19 PM

Captain Lira smiles and nods to the fairy as he drifts down to the barge. "I will keep the ship here for as long as needed...you will most likely need my ship more." She waves as the barge departs and turns to her crew. "Bring down the sail and prepare to make the ship ready for a wait." She then moves about the deck for some time making sure that things are done.

The fairy turns around at the question of his name. When he hears Brahmah's comment about who he is he blushes greatly. "Oh I am sorry for the confusion...I am not Zethen, he is a aged human....very powerful in the arts he is...but I diverge, my name is Talthingstratusinruphusque....erhh just Tal for short." He points back the way that the barge is now moving and smiles as you draw nearer.

You have went maybe some sixty feet when the vague outline of an island appears. As you look back towards the GossamerWing you find that it is no longer there. The island is only ten feet away now and you are closing fast. The fairy flits about the barge messing with a few metal rods that are positioned here and there. "We will make the island very soon...and I can take the goodies to my family."

The barge lands on the beach and you are all free to move off. Tal glances to the group and then points to a most obvious path. "Take the path and you will soon come to a hut...that is Zethen's home...he will be waiting for you most certainly." He starts to flit away and then stops, hovering in the air. "I will be here for your return to the ship." With a last wave he flies off into the surrounding forest and is soon lost from sight.

Brahmah
Friday February 27th, 2004 1:24:08 AM

Brahmah grabs his gear, tightens his buckler and Falchion/Kukri and looks to the Chosen, then back to Tal.

"Thank you Tal, we'll see later I'm sure. It was a pleasure to meet you."

"Come on Chosen, let's meet our Host."

Gecktar
Friday February 27th, 2004 4:32:51 AM

"Hmm, hmm..." makes Gecktar when Tal gives his true name. "Nevermind Brahmah" does he whisper, "everyone can do some mistakes..."

"Let's find this Zethen." he happily take a step or two on the firm ground but his balance is a bit precarious feeling as if still on the boat. He then follows Brahmah.

Flat-top
Friday February 27th, 2004 6:31:11 AM

Jumps off the barge, then helps Kenisha but Domisha does not want to be carried, but wants to play in the water. Next Flat-top helps Vrurt off the barge and puts her on his back, BUT Melanin want to play in the serf like Domisha. Poor Flat-top is in the middle of a water fight and him being a target. "Hey! Brahmah! How about some help here? I have two little dragonetts on my hands." Well to the Unitaurs that statement made thing all the funnier, the girls followed Flat-top, Splashing him all the way to shore.
Now Flat-top is all wet and looks like a drown rat (no wonder he forgot his gear on the barge).

Kenisha
Friday February 27th, 2004 6:37:27 AM

Kenisha lets the "horseplay" go on just long enough to curb some of the children's restlessness before going in and giving Flat-top a hand in getting them to follow along with the others on the path.

Noticing the unattented bundle still on the barge she grabs it, pretty sure to whom it belongs but wanting to see how long he goes before noticing it's missing.

Paw'caw(ceil)
Friday February 27th, 2004 6:40:15 AM

Paw'caw does not know what to make of that little flying thing, it talks but flies around like a big butterfly. So she stays on Brahmah shoulder, but watches that butterfly fly off into the trees. 'More Butterflies??' she wonders.

Managram(ceil)
Friday February 27th, 2004 6:46:36 AM

Managram jumps off the barge, swims to shore then wets five trees, before he shakes the water off og his coat. Then goes and sits beside his master. (But if you look closely, the dog is almost smiling?)

Vasch
Friday February 27th, 2004 11:44:55 AM

Vasch gathers his gear and follows the others.

Kanchana  d20+10=24 d20+10=22
Friday February 27th, 2004 1:21:43 PM

Kanchana makes it onto the barge with Flat-top's help. She is very grateful for the help.

************************************************

Kanchana doesn't appreciate the trip on the barge, and feels particularly unwell when she sees the ship disappear from sight.
When the barge lands at the beach Kanchana leaps from the barge and lands on the sand without getting her paws wet at all.

She immediately starts to examine the local plants to see if there any that she recognizes. She is glad that she brought her gear from the ship and precedes to take copious notes. Kanchana is currently very engrossed in the local flora of the island.

(Knowledge: Nature 24, Herbalism 22. Kanchana also uses her druid ability Nature Sense)

Toros  d20=14
Friday February 27th, 2004 5:14:16 PM

Carrying his gear Toros also lands on the island behind his friends. He gives a curious look around to understand more about this nw place. (d20, 14

The Island...the path. (DM Jim)
Friday February 27th, 2004 7:08:52 PM

Milling around on the beach for a little while you get your land legs back, partially. Kanchana becomes ingrossed in some of the flora that surrounds the beach. Some of it is wild roots and plants that she recognizes as edible, but some are totally new plants. A couple of them she can tell are poisonous just by their appearance, but the others?? The two children find a nice little sack full, if they have a small sack or get one, of small pretty shells on the beach.

You can see nothing but the path and a little ways up it. The rest is heavy vegetation though it has the appearance of being maintained by someone, even tended like a garden. The path is well taken care of, pine and wood chips line the paths floor making it easy on the feet. A cool breeze blows across it as well bringing in the salty sea smells.

The path breaks into a small clearing with a hut setup in the middle of it. Smoke gently curls from the little chimney and a small fire is goin on the deck at the front of the house. A tea pot has just started to whistle as you break the clearing. Seated on the front porch is an old centaur.

He looks up and motions the group forward as he slowly stands, moving to a small table. The group will notice that he has several cups set up on the table and a hot kettle whistling over a fire. As they move closer to the porch he smiles and finally speaks. "Welcome Chose...do not be surprised as I saw your coming before Lira called to me...though what you are wanting is unknown to me." Motioning to the chairs and other places to sit he starts to pour out some tea. "Have some tea and let us talk a little." He then sits and listens to whatever The Chosen have to say about their needs.

[Sorry, Zethen is actaully a centaur. Should have checked my notes a little better there.]

Leets
Sunday February 29th, 2004 1:24:13 PM

"Well...Thank you for welcoming us on your island. I hope we won't bring troubles to your life of retirement..."

"I'm Leets Talric of the Talric tribe, paladin of Domi, and here is Managarm, a faithful and canine servant of our allmighty Father..."

Kanchana  d20+10=21 d20+10=12
Sunday February 29th, 2004 2:28:21 PM

Kanchana continues to spend as much time as she can studying the plants that she doesn't recognize. She hopes to see if they are anything like some of the plants that she does know. Maybe they can be useful for food or medicine? She takes more notes and makes some sketches as well.

Kanchana will be last one to head up the path to the hut. She will wait until everyone else has had their say, and then Kanchana will bombard Zethen with a whole lot of questions about the local flora. She explains that she has a great interest in herbalism and plants in general.

(Knowledge: Nature 21, Herbalism 12)

Flat-top
Sunday February 29th, 2004 7:36:05 PM

Flat-top make belive he's mad at the Uni taur and chases them to their mother. Then it's upthe path, to the hot and greets the ols centaur, "Good day to you, and yes I'll will have a cup of tea with you." Flat-top look around, it seem to him that something is missing BUT cannot put his hoof on it??
"Oh! Well! It will come to me later."

Managram(ceil)
Sunday February 29th, 2004 7:38:46 PM

The dog look at the old centaut and answers 'Woof!', sits then look at Leets. 'Maybe he'll give me a treat?'

Kenisha
Sunday February 29th, 2004 11:04:00 PM

On the way up the path, Domisha squeals in mock (and giggling) terror at Flat-top. As they enter the clearing, she hides shyly behind her mother.

Kenisha bow in respect to the old centaur and says in introduction, "Greetings, honored elder, I am called Kenisha." She puts her hand on her daughter's back and ushers her forwards from behind her flank and into full view, "And this is my daughter, Domisha."

(ooc- Okay this will be my last post for awhile. I'll keep checking the board now and again. Have fun guys. :)

Gecktar
Monday March 1st, 2004 3:18:25 AM

Gecktars bows slightly at the old centaur. "Thanks for your welcome... and your tea too" says Gecktar with a smile to the elder hermit. "My name is Gecktar fervent servant of Domi. It's a pleasure to meet someone welcoming you with tea instead of arrows or bolts..."

Gecktar take a place around the table and waits until everyone is in place. When their chief will seat down he will follow the movement.

(OOC : We are with you Marilyn, see you soon on the boards :) )

Brahmah
Monday March 1st, 2004 4:47:33 AM

The minotaur cocks his head as he passes the clearing, 'A centaur? Neat.' He thinks.

He approaches the porch.
"Greetings, I'm Brahmah, Captain of the Chosen of Domi. I'm glad to see civilization hasn't pestered you here."

"This is Pah'caw, my friend and companion." He scratches her feathers under one wing.

As a show of good faith, Brahmah removes his weapon belt and leans them against the porch.

"Aw, yes, tea, great." After a sip of tea, Brahmah explains the situation in as much detail that he can, without giving away too much, but not leaving out important bits.
"...so, if the mothers and Children of Domi might stay with you, that would be great. They, the wee-ones, are innocent of any crimes.
I'd be happy to bring back some token in payment if you wish?"
He looks up from his cup of tea with a raised eyebrow, "Are you willing to help? I promise in advance that I won't speak of your Paradise to anyone, on MY HONOR!"

Toros
Monday March 1st, 2004 5:12:21 PM

"My name is Toros. I am the newest member of the Chosen... And very nice to meet you."

Toros smells the tea poured into the cups. "This tea smells so good and tasty".

He listens and nods silently where he sits, when Brahmah explains their situation to the Host Centaur.

Vasch  d20+9=27 d20+5=22 d20+7=18
Monday March 1st, 2004 7:37:04 PM

Vasch nodds a greetings to Zethen not wanting to interupt Kanchana and her onslaught of questions directed at the host.

As is in Vasch's nature, he does keep a watchful eye on his surroundings.

Old Zethen. (DM Jim)
Tuesday March 2nd, 2004 12:04:25 AM

Old Zethen waits as everyone gets them some tea and partakes of the simple fair that he has set out. He nibbles on a little of this and a little of that as he listens to you talk to him.

He talks of some of the plants on the island and how they can be used in healing. He also let Kanchana know that a most of them can only be found on this island...they grow with his nurturing.

During the talks you come to realize that Old Zethen is actually blind but seems to not be hampered by it.

Finally feeling alittle more relaxed as the children play around the house and even come to be help by Zethen, Brahmah comes to the crux of thier problem. Old Zethen shakes his head and then takes a sip of his tea. "I am afraid that they can not stay here...not because I do not want them too...but because great powers seek them both...dark and evil powers." With a sad look on his face he starts to tell you something and then quits. "There maybe a way...." He then shakes his head as if having second thoughts. "No...it is not my problem...I left the problems of the outer world behind long ago." He motions to the clearing and smiles again. "You may stay here the night and most of tomorrow if you will."

It seems that he may still help you but is reluctant. It seemed strange that he would tell you no but still allow you to stay so long, especially since it is still so early in the day.

Flat-top
Tuesday March 2nd, 2004 7:10:17 AM

Flat-top watches the old centaur, then speak more to the clerics than to Zethen. "You know, I don't remember ever being invaded on Hearthold Island, and I been there from the begining. We must ask Domi for guidance, He must have something in mind. What do you think Brahmah? Should we sleep on the problem??"

Kenisha(ceil)
Tuesday March 2nd, 2004 7:28:15 AM

Kenisha heart drops, you can see the pain in her eyes. "Yes! We should ask Domi." She'll go and make a place to bed down for the night. For her self and Domisha.

Domisha(ceil)
Tuesday March 2nd, 2004 7:37:12 AM

Little Domisha sences that something is wrong, not just with her mother, But whith everybody in the party, including Old Zethen. She leaves her mother and steps forward to the old centaur. "You know something Sir? I had a dream when I was on the ship. I dreamed of this Island and I saw a Centaur, he look just like you." Then she was off to play with Melanin.

Paw'caw(ceil)
Tuesday March 2nd, 2004 7:41:18 AM

Paw'caw flies off to catch a fish for the little ones, then she'll make her self a nest in the highest tree around. That's where she'll guard her master and the Chosens.

Managram(ceil)
Tuesday March 2nd, 2004 7:44:29 AM

Managram will play ball with the girls, but if Leets should move on, he'll be right by his side in the blink of an eye.

Leets
Tuesday March 2nd, 2004 8:05:42 AM

"So the dark ones are definitively after us..."

"Well, I can only understand, Zethen...The little ones would be endangered, and you too..."

Leets is toughtful for a couple of minutes...

"I agree with you, Flat-Top...Kenisha...Maybe we could ask for guidance from our Lord."

"The problem is to know where, and the only answer I would give is: on the humans island..."

Gecktar
Tuesday March 2nd, 2004 11:33:18 AM

Knowing that Zethen has more to say than he pretend, Gecktar says :
"This choice is yours, and nobody can ever contest it. More we understand it as great powers are involved... But these children haven't the privilege you had when you make this choice. They are innocent and pure, why should they undergo the wrath of the Dark One without being able to defend themselves !"

"Yes of course, you could say that we are their guardian and their guides, but we are no match against the powers in move..."

"Every suggestion will be welcome, and every word will be heard. Maybe giving us few clues to find a solution will be sufficient to allow the little one to get a real life... Not a life of hunted ones... They do not deserve to be sacrified on the altar of cruelty..."

"One last time, those searching the light need your help wise Taur..."

"As I can see, this will not lead to your damnation, else you wouldn't have welcome us as you did."

"I understand your choice to live cloistered, and far from such struggles, but there are times when ancien power are to be waken to bring the light to others... and these times are coming."

Toros
Tuesday March 2nd, 2004 5:23:15 PM

Having listened their host's words, in support of his friends' talkings, Toros will say to Zethen: "Even it is hard for us, the chosen of Domi, to decide what can be done without the guidance of Domi, thus, we understand your hesitation and appreciate the concerns of your own, Zethen. Please believe that we would not want to do anything to disturb your life, but we have had to come here and ask for your help... Maybe a matching point can be found between your concerns and ours, maybe destiny is at work here, the destiny for you and Chosen and none of us can escape from this."

Vasch  d20+9=19 d20+5=23 d20+7=14
Tuesday March 2nd, 2004 6:04:39 PM

Vasch stands and listens to the old taur. At hearing Zethen's refusal to aid them other than a nights rest, he looks visibly upset. Tomi guide our actions. Vasch moves to Brahmah and whispers, "I'm going to take watch tonight."

Early in the evening, Vasch goes just outside the house and finds a spot next to the wall and tries to get some sleep even if only for a few hours. He will be up the night on watch. Whether it's the mention of the darkness or Zethen himself, Vasch is uneasy.

(Spot DC19, Listen DC23, Survival DC14)

Brahmah
Tuesday March 2nd, 2004 6:45:53 PM

"It's decided, we'll ALL sleep on this and see what Domi has to say, if any."

To Vasch, he nods in the affirmitive. "Ok, watch then."

"Thank Zethen, we'll let you know by morning."

Brahmah finds where to sleep then is asleep before his head hits the bedroll.

Old Zethen. (DM Jim)
Tuesday March 2nd, 2004 7:10:16 PM

Old Zethen embraces the childs face in his right hand and smiles. "I know little one...I dreamed of you too." He gently ruffs up her hair before she runs off. Glancing to The Chosen one at a time, as if he can see you and it makes you uncomfortable, he nods. "Your arguements I have heard...much do I have to think about." He glances back to the children as they play and sighs, a sad smile coming to his face.

That night was a restful one for the group and no incidents happen. A strange dream comes to each of you that night, one distubing in many ways.

'You see what can only be Domi locked in combat with another being. Though neither one seems to get the upper hand on the other, thier battle rages on tearing at the land surrounding them. Then you see the black specks that surround the legs of the combatants on the ground and your perception changes to one of ground level. All three of the taur races are locked in battle with each other, neither giving nor yielding to the other...many fall before the blades of the other. In the middle of it all is a black armored taur, Vargas, tearing into any taur that gets near him. He is surrounded by another eight taurs all dressed in his colors and bearing the vial smashing the hammer.

Then the scene changes to a temple with a group of people standing near it. As you draw closer you see yoursleves standing in chains, the children being testing in some ritual. The priests that are performing the ritual though are dressed in black and bear a vial on thier backs.'

You wake with a start as the dream seems to end on it's own. You know that this is just a possible future, but it felt so real. Looking to the sun you estimate that it is around ten in the morning.

Old Zethen is up standing in the clearing the sun full upon his face. Anyone that stood a watch will know that he did not sleep all night long and at one point was crying. He seems lost in thought now trying to make sense of something...you wonder if he saw what you did.

[Ceil - Thanks for keeping me in the loop. I like to see these things myself, though I should know how you are posting personally.]

Kanchana  d20+10=24 d20+10=20
Tuesday March 2nd, 2004 9:51:42 PM

Kanchana feels very let down when Zethen says that the children cannot stay here. To pass the time she goes off to study the new plants more closely. She will study the plants until the light fades enough that she can no longer see any clear details.

Kanchana does try to get some sleep, but sleeps rather uneasily - and the nightmare doesn't help any. Kanchana suddenly wakes up late in the morning and isn't too particularly happy.
She hardly spares Zethen a glance as she moves off from the others and seeks out the uncomplicated company of the plants. Kanchana will shun any social interaction for most of the day if she can. She studies a different area from where she was the day before.

Gecktar
Wednesday March 3rd, 2004 2:47:58 AM

In the morning, waking up after a terrible nightmare, Gecktar isolates himself and sends prayers to Domi for an hour long.

Having made his duty, he then go to see Zethen. "Old Taur ?" says does he say to catch the attention of the Centaur "One more time we had a dream... This one was not a dream of courage as Domi usually send us. This was a dream of despair... Don't let the children face this fate... Help them..." With that said, he put his large hand on the shoulder of the wise Taur in a sign of compassion and then turn to help preparing meal.

Now asking to Brahmah : "When have we to be ready to leave captain... I had some hope that he will help us despite his vow of neutrality... We'll have to find our way alone... with the help of Domi"

Leets
Wednesday March 3rd, 2004 3:00:36 AM

The Centaur paladin has his "bad days" look when he appears in the morning. He's used to wake up much more early than he did, and the nightmare made him upset...This day won't be a good one, and he knows it...

"So you had the dream too Gecktar..."

"Such a pity...We've been doing all we could for years now to unite the Taurs, and now...This."

"At first I thought I was remembering the battle between Domi and Marteaus, but...It was different, very different..."

"Maybe it could look like a vision of dispair, but I don't think so...Dark powers have called their own Chosen, we've seen it, and we'll have to face them. But those events...They are happening, now, and we can make things change. It'sz not at all like when Domi was...well... dead."

"They are trying to destroy waht we've built so far, and we musn't let them do. I think we should bring the little ones to a safe place first, and then find those who are bringing darness on our quest. But if needed, the little ones should come with us, the Taur people should know they don't have to hide..."

Flat-top
Wednesday March 3rd, 2004 5:00:36 AM

Flat-top trashes in his dream, He dreams of him in chains helpless, As the Clerics of Chaos have the babies in hand. He wakes as he kicks a tree, hurting his hind left hoof. "Ouch!" then wipes the sweat from his face.
Flat-top limps over to his buddies, just in time to hear what Leets and Gectar spea king of the dream, "Do you really think we can change the futur? I agree with you, we must find a safe haven for the little ones first, then take care of those Cleric of Darkness."

Kenisha(ceil)
Wednesday March 3rd, 2004 5:14:15 AM

Kenisha awakes in a fear for her daughter, who is still fast asleep next to her. She see (in the clearing) Old Zethen standing there, with the sun reflecting on his face. 'He been crying. he must have had the dream too.' she think to herself. Kenisha goes to him and talk in a very soft tone "Come! Master Zethen, come and sit in the shade, I will bring you some cold water to drink. Then maybe we can talk, Alright?"

Brahmah
Wednesday March 3rd, 2004 6:26:12 AM

When the Chosen get together in the morning with Zethen, Brahmah states simply so that EVERYONE knows he had the dream too, "We should've keel-hauled Vargus when we had the chance...honor somtimes has to be shelved for the greater good." He almost seemed shocked at his own statement, not about Vargus, but about Honor.

He doesn't look well at breakfast, almost green.

Vasch
Wednesday March 3rd, 2004 11:52:00 AM

Vasch is even more disturbed by his dream. So much so that he does not mention it with the others when wakes to stand watch.

Seeing Zethen up during the night and in light of his dream Vasch approaches the old centaur. "You can't sleep?" He says is an inquisitive tone. "I don't like sleeping in the darkest of the night. I fear the darkness will swallow me forever."

He takes a look into the night sky. "You have seen it too haven't you...the future." Vasch pauses before continuing. "There is a darkness coming and we are the only light holding it back. I'm afraid. I fear that I am not strong enough for the task Tomi has set before me. I don't fear for my life, if I fail it's not only me, but our entire line, all taurs, that will fall. That our peoples will exist no longer."

"Is it that you refuse to help or that you are not allowed? I know that sounds very simple for the circumstances but I don't know how to ask it any other way. I saw the way you were with the children. I could see the pain on your face. These next days will shape the future of everyone..." Vasch leaves the old centaur.

The next morning, Vasch hears the talk of the dreams and the similarity to his own. He listens to the other talking but his thoughts are of last night and of his and the word he spoke to Zethen. Tomi I fear we are seeing the last days of the taur race.

"Let the hunters become the hunted." He says to the crowd. "Take the children to where the prophecy does not exist. Then we return and deal with Vargas...permanently.

Toros
Wednesday March 3rd, 2004 4:51:02 PM

Toros will get up early in the morning, feeling the heavy load of the dream and the unsolved concerns in his mind. He will go to the beach to listen to the sounds of wave, this will relax him a bit. Then he will do his meditation for the day, later, travel around the island and return to where they stay over night.

When sees Zethen he will indeed feel sorry for him, feeling his deep sorrow. He could not say anything to the old blind Taur at that moment. He also has not got the chance to share his dream with his friends.

Old Zethen. (DM Jim)
Wednesday March 3rd, 2004 9:09:17 PM

Zethen's head turns as Vasch approaches then he turns back to look out into the night sky. "I have visions even when I am awake...my blindness is like perpetual sleep." His head droops as he suddenly feels even older than he is. Catching the last of Vasch's statement he shakes his head. "For many years I have cloistered myself away from the outside...only occassionally helping those that seek me." Another tear slides down his face. "This time I can see that I will have no choice...The Dark One stirs even more now." With that he goes back to watching the stars as they twinkle in the sky.

He follows along with Kenisha, almost as a child being led somewhere. He sits and looks to her before she goes to get any water. "You are the mother of the one called Domisha...and the minotaur with you is the mother of the other girl, Melamin." It is more of a statement than a question, but you could take it as one. Listening to the others he shakes his head again. "You have a noble cause and good hearts...these children will not be hurt for my ignorance." He seems to natural look to the two children and once again you are struck by his ability to see without his eyes. "It would not be safe here but there maybe such a place." He ponders for a few minutes as if remembering something. "I am sorry...but there is a test you must pass to get my help...I am forbidden to help unless you pass this test...it is a gease put on me by Domi." He smiles as he waits to see what you have to say about this.

Kanchana finds many of the plants to be even stranger than some. She makes sketches of most of them tryiing to put in all the little details. She is even able to make some notes from what Zethen is able to tell her, if she asks. The other day he had suggested that she gather some of the seeds if she found them of interest.

Toros
Thursday March 4th, 2004 12:00:26 AM

"A gease!.. I wonder what this gease is then", Toros thinks to himself and unconsciously expresses this out at the same time.

Leets
Thursday March 4th, 2004 2:58:13 AM

"Domi never gives anything but to those who prove their valor..."

Leets smiles although he knows there is fravity in those events.

"We never failed Domi, I think we should try the test..."

Brahmah
Thursday March 4th, 2004 5:13:29 AM

"Then the test it shall be."
He answers more for himself than for the group as a whole. The other veteran Chosen know that Brahmah doesn't refuse a test or challenge, the new ones might not understand Brahmah yet. They soon will. Besides, anything for the Children of Domi.

Flat-top
Thursday March 4th, 2004 7:13:18 AM

"A gease is a bird that flies south for the winter, Toros. What hes talking about now is a test." Flat-top Smiles as if he had given Toros a big piece of information. Then tell the old Centaur "I'm ready".

Kenisha(ceil)
Thursday March 4th, 2004 7:43:30 AM

Kenisha Look to Flat-top, sigh "Flat-top! I'm glad that you are not their teacher, the only thing you can teach Domisha is how to defend herself." She smiles at the fighter, turns to Old Zethen, "I'm ready to take your test. Anything to keep my child safe and out of the hands of Chaos."

Both playmates look at each other, afther they hear the word "TEST", Asking their mother if they can go see Kanchana for a while?

Kanchana
Thursday March 4th, 2004 8:04:09 AM

Kanchana will absolutely gather seeds since Zethen said she could. She places the seeds in small packages which she labels with numbers (since she doesn't yet know the names); the numbers coincide with the page numbers in her notebook where there are descriptions and drawings.

Kanchana left camp before any talk about testing came up, and therefore she also missed the discussion about the dream. Still she trusts the others and Father Tomi so she isn't too worried about what the dream might signify yet.

If the children come to her Kanchana will take a break from studying the plants she doesn't know. Instead she will take the children with her and start to show them the plants that she does know and how they can be used. Kanchana will encourage the children to explore the plants (even letting them taste the ones that can be eaten). She will however supervise everthing that the two children do and try; so they don't get hurt. Kanchana will try to explain things so that it isn't boring and in a way that makes it easy for them to understand.

Vasch
Thursday March 4th, 2004 8:29:12 AM

Vasch listens to the others. The confidence and bravado in their voices lift his weighted soul. A smile can be seen to crack the stern expression and is quickly gone. A test. Why is nothing simple anymore. Alright, Tomi if that is what you require...so be it.

Gecktar
Thursday March 4th, 2004 12:59:07 PM

"I will endure any test you wish... If it is for the safety of the children."

"May Domi guide our steps"

To the Cave. (DM Jim)
Thursday March 4th, 2004 7:37:31 PM

Old Zethen nods as each of The Chosen speaks their piece, but Kanchana who is away at the time. He looks at each again and then start to lead them to where Kanchana is at near his hut. "My dear...your friends have decided to take a test to get my help...will you be joining them?" He already knows that you most likely will but he will not assume anything till a person says their piece.

With everyone in tow, Vrurt taking care of the children as you walk, he leads you down the path that you used to get to his hut. He smiles as your confusion grows, for the path is not leading to the beach any longer. He stops in an open spot before a cave and turns slowly. "You Chosen must enter this cave a trials...the little ones and Vrurt must stay here...this is a test for you alone." He turns back to the cave and nods his head as he says a few words lightly under his breathe. "My one advice is...think carefully." He then steps to the side so that you can enter.

Kanchana
Thursday March 4th, 2004 8:55:18 PM

Kanchana listens attentively to Zethen. "Of course I will help Zethen. I will gladly undergo this test if it will do good for the children and the others."

When they get to the cave Kanchana asks Zethen, "do you have a herbal or something that I can copy? I would hate to not be able to gain as much knowledge as I can about these wonderous plants that are here." She waits for an answer from the Centaur. "I mean if I return to here from this test, if I can learn more about these plants?" Kanchana tries really hard not to sound demanding, but she does sound really excited about the plants.

She prepares to enter the cave after the others have entered.

Brahmah
Friday March 5th, 2004 4:21:04 AM

Brahmah proceeds to the cave with the rest of the Chosen. He takes his equipment, not sure what to expect. He tucks scrolls in his belt for easy access. He tightens his buckler and then he's ready to go.
"Zethen, what are the rules?"
"Pah'caw, stay her my feathered friend. The dark isn't good for a day hunter."

Flat-top
Friday March 5th, 2004 8:43:30 AM

Flat-top follows with the others, thinking to himself 'WoW! this is one weird island??
The come to the cave, he looks inside. "Hmm! We'll need some light. Well Captain, Where do you want me? Up front? or in the back with the magic users?"
Now Flat-top starts to miss his back pack, "OH! No! I forgot my back pack back at the barge??" said Flat-top with a red face.

Toros
Friday March 5th, 2004 5:05:46 PM

Toros follows Zethen and Chosen to the cave, on the way he talks and asks to others briefly about their dream.

When Zethen steps aside to let Chosen enter the cave, with curiosity Toros looks inside the cave to se whatever he can, stepping a bit forward. However before he moves further he waits anything that Zethen may say, in response to any of the Chosen's questions about what might be waiting them inside the cave. He also wonders how dangerous this test is, or is it just a puzzle solving, however hard it is.
