Substitute DM Cayzle Monday May 3rd, 2004 11:22:26 AM
Zayne becomes a regular at the Dark Jungle. It is seedy in a gaudy way, but it IS underground, so the fights seldom rise above insults. A few fists fly, but not many. Zayne gets to know the patrons and workers. Cooks the barkeep, who also tends a small grill for hot meat on bread. Perjie, an old halfling wino who is always begging for drinks. Tembo, the charmer, who loves to buy drinks for women customers. Mel, a battle-scarred fighter who drinks the hard stuff -- Tembo never messes with her. No sign of anyone named Corn.
Rose sticks close to Vorelle, and all seems back to normal.
As the last month of winter gives way to spring, the entire party prepares to spring back into action.
The group heads out on a fine brisk day. The wind off the ocean blows in your hair. Which would be nice if it weren't also blowing fine black dust with it! Oh, well. Such is life in Dirt City.
Before the group is out of sight of the guard towers of the city, there is a pounding of hoofbeats on the road behind you. Someone is headed towards you, fast!
You turn and get ready to defend yourselves, when you see the rider is wearing a bronze disc at her shoulder, with a length of blue ribbon running from it. That's what all the Prince's soldiers wear.
The woman rides up hard and sizes you up. You can almost see a mental checklist in her head -- liontaur ... ravens ... three male, three female ... hobbit. Yup!
Catching her breath, she calls out, "Hail! You six are summoned by request of the Prince! Please follow me!"
Dietrich Monday May 3rd, 2004 11:43:49 AM
Dietrich denys Zaynes invitation to go to The Dark Jungle with him, for he doesn´t want to be seen by the mugger. He´d call too much attention and destroy any possibility of surprising the guy. Than, time passes and somewhat the opportunity to get the thief upside doesn´t appear, what disappoints the fighter. On the end Dietrich reminds his own business and the preparations for the new adventure takes his whole time, so he lets the matter rest for a while.
He buys some holy water too and gets eager for action with every warmer day of spring. His first reaction to Theos suggestion is very positive, and he liked the name "Hawks" too, but than VAuhwyts speech convinces him not to do so. She has lived in the city for much longer and knows how to behave here, and the knight is smart enough to control his pride and be more low profile.
When the group finaly leaves Dirt City the fighter almost bursts of excitement. As the rider suddenly appears he is surprised and as they are summoned to the Prince, Dietrich gets very disappointed.
He thinks silently: "Just now! Why the #$@*$#& didn´t they call us before?" and has to control himself not to swear, kicking away a small stone in his front.
Zayne Monday May 3rd, 2004 5:14:09 PM
Oddly relieved to have such a timely outlet for his new found rage.
Looking square into her face,"And what if we choose not to,and why is it that we have to come now? What is with this guy and his demands, doesn't he understand that everyone has things to do and it is not easy to just drop what they are doing, just so he can stroke his ego."
Ignoring the group,"You know what,I think it's about time that someone pointed out that just because he is the prince doesn't mean that he owns the people of Dirt City. Yes,I do think it's about high time. I think we will come with you." Looking up at the sky,"If we hurry we might actually be able to finish with this trip today. So are you going to lead us or do you just want to catch up to us at the palace?" With that remark the upset young mane begins to stalk off back to the Prince's palace, making a list of things that he plans on telling his royal high muckity muckness.
Vorelle Monday May 3rd, 2004 8:45:06 PM At least this one said "please," Vorelle is thinking. I wonder--
Then Zayne cuts loose with his tirade, and Vorelle begins wishing heartily that she were someplace else. She drifts to the back of the group as they move toward their audience, rehearsing excuses in her head.
Oh, he's quite mad, Your Highness. Pay him no heed....
Theodore and Macaw Monday May 3rd, 2004 9:10:45 PM
Theodore covers his face with his hands at Dietrich and Zayne's outburst. Macaw flaps off, happy to be outside and able to use his wings.
Wordlessly, the young mage follows the messenger back. He lets Macaw stretch his wings.
rose Tuesday May 4th, 2004 4:31:40 AM
When the rider comes up and asks them to go to the palace rose gets worried what's the problem now...i hope it isn't to bad
When zayne and dietrich start in on the messanger she gets even worrieder oh no! he's going to throw them in jail or something. why do guys have to act like this
Rose follows the others riding her mule, luckily she hasnt turned the saddle into a bed yet :)
Vauhwyt and Mookie Tuesday May 4th, 2004 8:02:31 AM
The liontaur and her familiar gape at Zayne's outburst. "Wow! *I* could give that guy lessons on politeness!" says Mookie.
Vauhwyt walks over to the Prince's soldier. "Please forgive our friend. He is a little excitable, is all."
Then she races up to Zayne.
"Look, Zayne, you have to take it down a notch when we meet the Prince. It's not fair to the rest of us if you get us killed. Okay?"
Substitute DM Cayzle Tuesday May 4th, 2004 8:07:08 AM
The soldier leads you back into town, and then to the palace. You are left to wait in an anteroom that is a mish mash of elegant, stolen furniture.
After maybe a half hour, the Prince's right hand enters, Th'Ayvanen enters and sits down among you.
"Thank you for coming. I have some information I think you will find interesting."
Dietrich Tuesday May 4th, 2004 12:16:36 PM
OOC: just remembering that Dietrich didn´t say anything, he only thought that things.
Dietrich is astonished with Zayne´s outburst and lack of courtesy. He gives him a long look and shakes his head, not understanding his friend´s rage against the Prince. The fighter has nothing against the Prince, he actually thinks that they have been treated very fair by the authorities. He was just upset that, right now that they were finaly leaving the city for adventure, they had to come back.
Dietrich waits anxiously in the room, walking from one side to the other. When Th´Ayvannen enters the anteroom, he greets him with a bow and waits for the information.
Zayne Tuesday May 4th, 2004 12:22:44 PM
Shrugging off Vauhwyt's advice as her being afraid of the Prince.
As they wait,Zayne paces back and forth impatiently, and swearing profusly.
After the Th'Ayvanen arrives and makes his announcement,"You called us back into town because you found some news that we MIGHT find interesting. Thats quite nice and considerate of you and your boss, don't you think. I've told you once that I don't care much for you and your's,and I must say that what little I did think of you has dropped since our last meeting. I might be the only one not afraid to speak my mind but I can guarantee that I am not the only one that is tired of thes interuptions of your's." Looking balefully at the Prince's lackey.
"I also see that his royal dictatorship didn't have the decency to see us personally,I mean it's not as if that would be the decent thing to do or anything. I mean we did plan on sitting here waiting for him to teach us to sit and roll over, and maybe even fetch his slippers at night. I know he is the Prince and we are his subjects but that does not mean that we can be treated like herd animals. We are people and we have wants needs and goals of our own,and we can't always come just because his royal high muckity muck wants to talk to someone. But you are not the one I need to talk to about his are you, I apologize for yelling at you, give us your news so we can be on with our merry way and, then we can go sit and wait for his summons again."
Not even stopping to catch his breath,so teh whole speech sounded like on long sentence.
Theodore and Macaw Tuesday May 4th, 2004 12:42:20 PM
At another of Zayne's outbursts, Theodore makes a mental note to have a discussion with Zayne about the structure of a monarchy and their place in its system. He sighs in frustration that he didn't prepare his favorite spell. It might have come in handy with his overzealous friend.
Theodore clears his throat after Zayne's tirade, "Our friend does not speak for all of us, sir," he says to Th'ayvanen. "I would be most interested to hear what you have to say."
Vorelle Tuesday May 4th, 2004 3:24:22 PM
At Zayne's outburst, Vorelle cringes down into her seat. She doesn't like raised voices, and she fears reprisal from the powerful Th'Ayvanen.
Rose Tuesday May 4th, 2004 5:48:58 PM
rose is a bit worried about zayne's outburst and tries to think of a way to silence him. hit him on the head with something? nah, it'll make him mad. I dont have a hold person or silence spell....maybe i should start keeping those handy. I guess I'll gag him, or at least try to.
Rose moves over to zayne and sticks her foot out so he trips while he's pacing. she then stuffs a scarf in his mouth "shut up and be quiet before you get us all killed" she whispers to him.
Vauhwyt and Mookie Wednesday May 5th, 2004 10:12:10 AM
The liontaur stands in shock at Zayne's rash words.
Mookie says, "We'll visit you in the hoosegow, Zayne ol' chum!"
Vauhwyt is too surprised even to tell Mookie to hush.
Substitute DM Cayzle Wednesday May 5th, 2004 10:24:37 AM
[OOC: To trip someone, first you have to make a touch attack and then win a Str check. To gag someone you have to grapple the opponent and then pin him. Rose's efforts didn't even come close, but she communicates her intentions, at least.]
While the rest of the party stands flabbergasted, Zayne takes his life in his hands and insults Th'Ayvanen. Rose makes a half-hearted attempt to trip and gag Zayne, which he easily shrugs off. Only Theo has enough presence of mind to try to mitigate the damage Zayne has done.
Th'Ayvanen smiles a thin unpleasant smile. "The halfling has a good idea," he says, and then orders his men, "Shut him up."
Four soldiers grab Zayne and gag him, using Rose's handy scarf. They keep a firm grip on his arms, and Zayne isn't going anywhere.
[OOC: I'm not rolling the grapple attacks necessary to do this to Zayne, figuring that he will not be dumb enough to resist. David, if you want to fight it out and roll the dice, I'm cool with that, but be aware that once in actual combat, Zayne may well end up dead.]
Once Zayne is bound, Th'Ayvanen turns to the three females and two males before him. "Any of you want to speak up and tell me why I shouldn't flog this man before throwing him naked into the street?"
[OOC: Local knowledge -- in the past, naked people whipped half to death have sometimes appeared in the streets. Folk generally don't ask why. If left underground, the victim usually lives. If left aboveground, maybe not.]
Dietrich d20-1=6 Wednesday May 5th, 2004 11:04:18 AM
Dietrich is shocked with Zayne´s behaviour and quite worry about what´s going to happen to him now. So, although he´s not very good at it, the fighter speaks to Th´Ayvannen.
"Master Th´Ayvannen, please forgive us and this foolish kid for this small incident. As you know (Dietrich gives the Prince´s right hand a longer look), we´re humble and trustworthy servants of the just ruler and wise leader of Dirt City, Prince Corell, and we will continue to be so. Our comrade too has already done some services for the City and is pretty useful for us. He´s had some personal problems this days and is confused. By showing your mercy and forgiving him his punishment you would only increase the love of your loyal citizens to their ruler and have our special gratitude."
"But please, let´s come back to the reason we´re here and listen what knowledge master Th´Ayvannen wanted to generously share with us."

Theodore and Macaw d20+1=3 Wednesday May 5th, 2004 11:47:14 AM
Theodore begins to get very nervous as Zayne is caught and bound before his eyes. He starts to wring his hands in frustration.
"Don't hurt him! Don't hurt him!" begs Theodore.

Vorelle d20=19 Wednesday May 5th, 2004 3:00:47 PM
Reaching deep inside herself, Vorelle finds the courage to raise her head and look Th'Ayvanen in the face. She cannot quite bring herself to speak, but she sends him a pleading look from gray eyes that for once are not cast down.
[Successfully Aid Another to a Diplomacy Check for...darn, I usually choose Olyn. Um...Vauhwyt, I guess. No, wait, Rose. No...Vauhwyt. No, wait. Aw, heck. Ummm...Vauhwyt. For sure. I think.]
Rose d20=9 Wednesday May 5th, 2004 6:41:54 PM "Please don't hurt him. He's nice really, but has a little temper and doesn't always controll what he says.
rose looks up at the prince pledingly as she says this.

Vauhwyt and Mookie d20+5=6 Thursday May 6th, 2004 7:59:03 AM
Vauhwyt swallows nervously as she hears the fairly lame attempts from Rose, Theo, and Dietrich at diplomacy. Even she is not convinced by them, and she likes Zayne!
She racks her brains for an excuse that might actually save Zayne. He was beaten as a lad. Nah. He was deranged by wasp poison. Too stupid. He's an idiot. True, but hardly compelling.
Vauhwyt decides to forget about an excuse and just to appeal to the man's self-interest. She steps forward.
"Sirr," she begins, with a bit of accent (and a swishing tail) to reveal her unease, "I think we have shown our usefulness in the past -- the Wolf's daughter's assassination we foiled, the cursed mine we closed down, the bug we caught that was killing people."
"My point is, we will continue to be useful, and I give my personal pledge that we will keep Zayne in line. You won't have to worry about this again. He is young and headstrong, but we will direct his energies in the right direction."
She bows and hopes that that will be enough. [untrained diplomacy check with a +2 boost from Vorelle: 6! D'Oh! Natural one!]
"Good job, Boss," whispers Mookie. Vauhwyt thinks she should have gone with the wasp poison idea after all.
Substitute DM Cayzle Thursday May 6th, 2004 10:23:41 AM
Th'Ayvanen scowls and looks disgusted.
"I can see why that sensible cleric left your misbegotten company. Fine." He looks thoughtful for a moment. "I'll send you in search of your enemies. Maybe you won't foul that up. Here is what you will do."
"We have a clue to the Marteaus cult's whereabouts. I'm not going to explain my motives to you, but I have an important job. I need information -- where this cult is, and how strong they are. Once we know this, we can go after them with a sizable force."
"I am sending you to the Aisildurian border for answers. Come back with useful information, and we can overlook today's stupidity. If you get nothing useful, then don't come back."
"The clue that we have is: Go to Tears of the Wood tavern, on the banks of the Peaseblossom river, halfway between the Aisildurian outposts of Aceleos and Adorus."
"I see that you are ready to leave immediately, so I will have the guard escort you out of town right now."
The Prince's second stalks over to Zayne and grabs his face. He looks in his eyes. "You'll learn to keep a civil tongue in your head, or you'll rue the day your mother taught you how to speak."
Th'Ayvanen turns away. "Get them out of here," he says. Soldiers march the group out. You are reunited with your mules and set on the road. Zayne is free to remove Rose's scarf.
Dietrich Thursday May 6th, 2004 11:09:18 AM
Despite the rude treatment and the 'volounter' assignment, Dietrich is glad that nothing worse happened. The fighter is actually curious about their new task, which is for sure more useful than raiding the cursed battlefield and fighting foul undead.
Dietrich bows to Th´Ayvannen and leaves with his friends. Outside, he says to Zayne:
"What ,zum Teufel, were you doing? You could have killed yourself and US too! If you want trouble let us out of it. Besides, there are much better foes to choose as an enemy than the Prince. All right, you might don´t like him, but to say the truth, he is an ally against much worse evil, like these Marteus servants. Control yourself, you´r not a child anymore!"
Than he says to the group:
"Do you have any idea where this tavern is and how to get there? How far is it? We´ll probably have to get more provisions and I´d like to suggest horses again. Even who is not trained can mount them, you don´t need to do any spetacular manouvers."
Theodore and Macaw Thursday May 6th, 2004 12:38:35 PM
Theodore is relieved that Th'Ayvanen sees fit to let the party go. Once outside, though, the mage resorts to a nervous fit.
"I don't have everything I need to go on a trip," he wrings his hands in anxiousness. Macaw flaps in from wherever he was, and perches on Theodore's scruffy head. He begins to bob his black head in time with the mage's hand wringing.
Zayne Thursday May 6th, 2004 4:59:51 PM
Looking at the group with a look of dissapointment in his eyes,"You don't see what kind of man the Prince is yet do you? He is a monster, and you don't know it yet. How can a decent human being havd a man flogged for speaking the truth? It's easy,a man that has no room in his heart for love or life that what kind. He is empty and he takes his frustrations out on those around him. He can't allow allow himself to trust so he rules by fear. He hides behind his title and throne and makes those he deems beneath him do the work for him. He is a coward."
Looking around,"You are all intelligent, and eventually you wil see what I do,he gives us gold and thinks that he owns us but,he can keep it for all I care,no man will ever own me!" The young ranger is now quivering with rage."You will ope your eyes one day,I just hope it's not too late. Hopefully it will be before he is finished with us and, makes us dissapear. I have heard rumors that there are hundreds of bodies burried in the tunnels under Dirt City. They may be exaggerated but I'm willing to bet there is some truth to that, and I bet your'e precious Prince has had his hands or his flunkie's hands I should say in that honey jar."
"I know you allhave something to say to me,it can wait until we are on the road and we can talk there, oh does anyone have anything to eat on hand right now,I am a little hungry?"
Vorelle Thursday May 6th, 2004 11:45:50 PM
Vorelle is surprised and a little puzzled at Zayne's new outburst. The bullies run things, she thinks. That's the way it is. How odd, that he should just be finding that out--or that he thinks we don't know.
rose Friday May 7th, 2004 3:32:32 AM
Rose pulls zayne down where she can whisper in his ear (after making sure noone can hear them) "Who said he was nice? He is the Prince and he can have you and us killed for fun if he likes. I don't know about you but I dont want to upset him. If you don't like the way things are fine, but don't try and get us killed. Right now there are more important matters like finding that Marteus cult!"
She then releases him and asks the group "Ok, what supplies should we buy? Think we should go home and hit the shops first?"
Vauhwyt and Mookie Friday May 7th, 2004 4:45:10 AM
Vauhwyt looks at Theo and Rose and is surprised. "You heard the man! We're not supposed to go back into Dirt City until we have an answer for him about the cult! We can't go back!"
"Besides, we were all equipped for a trip to the Battlefield. What else do we need? The only thing that would be a catastrophe would be if you guys did not bring your spell books. You have your spell books, right? Right?"
She is also confused by Zayne, but he says he wants to wait and talk on the road. That makes sense -- let tempers cool off. Vauhwyt gives him some rations -- dried meat -- from her sidebag, and offers him a waterskin as well.
"I'm just glad no one was hurt," she says.
Substitute DM Cayzle Friday May 7th, 2004 5:00:57 AM
The party has already been escorted out of the city. On the way, you passed the big intersection of the North Road and the East Road.
When you were headed to the Battlefield, you were on the North Road -- at the intersection, a sign pointed north that said "To Mount Bone." The other road, the East Road, is the one down which you were escorted -- a sign pointing east said, "To Aisildur."
You have whatever equipment you would have taken on a multi-day trip to the Battlefield. For mages, that could well include spell books. Frankly, were I a mage in Dirt City, my spell book would be permanently in my locked backpack, and I would take it everywhere I went! Too many thieves around to leave it unattended.
The road east, to Aisildur, beckons. Unlike the usually-deserted road north, there is a fair amount of traffic on the East Road. Caravans, merchants. Ever since the Aisildur border opened, there's been growing trade with the next-door nation, and most merchants don't care if the people there have a screwy religion. "The gold isn't Heartseeded" is a saying you may have heard, and it means that cash doesn't follow any religion.
Theodore and Macaw Friday May 7th, 2004 11:23:38 AM
Theodore huffs a bit, but finally calms down. "I just don't like it when things happen unexpectedly," he explains to everyone. "I'm sorry that I got flustered." He winces when Macaw pecks his head.
Zayne d20+5=16 d20+5=10 Friday May 7th, 2004 1:37:14 PM
Happily accepting the food from Vauhwyt,"Thanks." Is his only reply.
As they move further down the road he waits until everyone is done with their comments about his actions.
After everyone is finished,"I apologize for putting you all in danger, but I want you to all know that I really do not like that man. He brings out the worst in me. When we report to him I will just stay at home or away from him.One day he and I will meet and he wonthave his throne to hide behind and then I'll show him what it takes to be a real human being. Now lets get this over with." With that he is off to scout the trail ahead.
(Listen 16 Spot 10)
Dietrich d20+4=8 Friday May 7th, 2004 5:59:17 PM
Dietrich doesn´t like to start an expedition without proper preparations too, but he realizes they can´t do anything about it. He accepts Zayne´s appologize and hopes his friend won´t get into trouble in future for his temper. When the ranger scouts ahead, Dietrich suggests that everyone assumes the common positions, with another scout behind, and says:
"Let me take the mules. I´ve had some practice with these beasts." Handle animal: 8
He binds the mules together and leads them, fighting with their stubborness and swearing enough.
Dietrich also suggests to join a larger caravan and asks his friends if there will be an inn in their way, or if they´ll have to sleep on the street. He asks too how long the journey to their destination will be.
Vorelle d20+6=22 d20+6=26 d20+6=25 Sunday May 9th, 2004 12:34:37 AM
Vorelle is glad to be out of the city, whatever the circumstances, although she is troubled that the group might be underprepared for this longer journey.
She slips easily into her "outdoor" mode, walking with more confidence, looking around her rather than down at the ground. She takes a course paralell to the party's, keeping an eye out for signs of game. Fresh meat, if she can find it, will help stretch their rations.
rose Sunday May 9th, 2004 4:52:32 PM
Rose lays strapped into her chair/bed on the mule and thinks about what she and the rest of the group has brought and wonders if they have enough supplies for this trip. Slowly she falls asleep.
Vauhwyt and Mookie Monday May 10th, 2004 6:11:46 AM
Vauhwyt stays with the main body of the group, leaving Vorelle and Zayne to forage and scout. She has Mookie fly high overhead, though, both to keep an eye on the scouts and to warn of approaching dangers.
Substitute DM Cayzle Monday May 10th, 2004 6:22:30 AM
Zayne and Vorelle scout ahead of the party, but they see nothing other than fellow-travelers, nothing that seems dangerous. Vorelle does manage to surprise and drop a deer -- rare this close to Dirt City -- so the group will feast on venison tonight.
On the road, Vauhwyt, Theodore, and Dietrich walk next to the mules as Rose naps atop one of them. She, at least, will be well rested for a night watch tonight!
There is no inn after a day's travel. Dietrich asks his friends about places to stay along the way, and how long the trip will be. Nobody knows for sure. And the weather plays a part. But it will be a longish trip -- a week, maybe? two? You are unsure.
There might be an inn or two along the way. The group does pass a couple caravan encampments -- Dietrich's idea of joining one might make for a safer, if rowdier, camp.
Do you camp alone or with some other group? If they charge you to share their fire, how much would you be willing to spend? Are you setting watches? Who's on which one?
Theodore and Macaw Monday May 10th, 2004 11:18:26 AM
Theodore also seems happy to be out in the open air and strides along easily with the rest of the party. He uses his staff as a walking stick, though he doesn't truly need it. Macaw keeps his perch on Theodore's shoulder, occasionally flying off to look for tasty bits of carrion or to disturb the mules.
When the question of camping comes up, Theodore agrees with Dietrich's suggestion to travel with others. "I suppose we're in no hurry, and it would be interesting to meet new people." He would be willing to part with a silver piece for a night around a common fire.
Dietrich d20+4=13 d20+2=12 Monday May 10th, 2004 1:46:42 PM
Dietrich too is glad to leave their underground home. He still hasn´t got used to dwelling like a dwarf under the earth and probably won´t get used to it in future. Also, four weeks without real stuff to do was really his limit.
When talks about accompanying a caravan starts, Dietrich pledges for it, but he doesn´t agree with paying for it. On the contrary, he proposes that the group should charge something for the protection they offer to any caravan. At least some food and shelter for free they should get.
In any case, together with an other caravan or alone, when evening approaches, Dietrich suggests that watches should be in couples and applys for the first watch, together with a ranger or someone with good eyes and ears in the night. He helps with camp preparations and is very happy with the deer Vorelle´s brought. During his watch, Dietrich prepares his mighty longbow and stays in the dark, keeping attention on their surroundings. Spot: 13 Listen: 12
Vorelle Monday May 10th, 2004 2:34:18 PM
Predictably, Vorelle looks worried at the prospect of having to interact with strangers. She is not opposed to camping with others, however.
When the subject of payment comes up, she points out, "W-we have f-f-fresh v-venison to sh-share."
After all, they have no means to preserve the meat on the road like this; it'll go bad before they can eat it all anyway.
Zayne d20+3=17 d20+4=24 d20+2=14 d20=17 Monday May 10th, 2004 3:07:08 PM
Probably happier than most to be outside and "roughing it". His spirits pick up considerably. Especially since Vorelle has provided such a fine meal, for the next couple of days at least. Although being raised in Dirt City puts him off on traveling with strangers, for any periond of time.
He uses all the tricks of the trade that his father taught him, when he was growing up and they would spend summers in the wild, not to mention his new skills he picked up serving as a guide. (Knowlege:Nature 17 Survival 24 natural 20 Profession:Guide 14,OOC I don't know if there is any synergy bonuses to these skills but they are all fairly similar.so I'll leave it up to you)
The young ranger is in his element and is enjoying himself immensly. He advises the group of changes in the wheather, and does his best to point out the various little things that are often overlooked by those inexperienced in outdoor life. As usual he is the first in line when food is being served, but for some reason he can never be found when it is time to do the dishes. And when he is found he usually is busy "working on something kind of important",caring for the mules(handle animal 17) or making sure there is water for washing in the morning or laying traps for unsuspecting critters during the night. He cannot be called lazy,in fact he is quite industrious and all of his projects do need doing by someone and he does know what he is doing.
Despite the occaisonal argument with Rose about cleaning duties, traveling with him is quite pleasant. He does seem quite regretful for putting the group in such a difficult situation, with the prince, but he stays adamant about not regretting his behavoir.
When not out scouting, hunting or just making sure everything is the way it should be,he is often found talking with Theo,he may be young and inexperienced as a mage and a little clumsy but he is fairly knowlegable about many different things, and Zayne does have an insatiable hunger for both food and knowlege. He talks with him about anything and everything, from his views on how important life is and how it should never be wasted,or mistreated,to mundane things like which girls he has seen aroound town that he thinks are pretty.
He also finds himself drawn to Dietrich, the older soldier, always seems so stable and,Zayne is starting to notice that he needs to learn how to better control his temper,Dietrichs words to him about not being a child anymore seem to have hit a chord in him.
rose d20+7=16 Tuesday May 11th, 2004 3:29:40 AM
Rose is a little wary about sharing a camp with strangers, but will do so if they can find one. She would prefer the first or last watch. at night she cooks the venison and also makes up a dough. she wraps some dough around extra meat and vegies to make little bread pockets that will bake by the fire during the night. this will make a quick hot breakfast and a good cold lunch.

Vauhwyt and Mookie d20+3=7 Tuesday May 11th, 2004 5:47:40 AM
The group consensus seems to be that camping with a caravan would be good. And that any caravan should be happy to have us -- or even pay us for our contribution to the caravan's security.
With these thoughts in mind, Vauhwyt steps forward as evening approaches and speaks for the group. As she does so she thinks, "I really wish Olyn were here. He had a good way with people. I'm better with lies and threats than diplomacy. Oh well. Here goes." She stuffs Mookie in a sidebag.
She asks to talk with the caravan master -- a female half-elf, as it turns out. The liontaur offers her group's prowess to the lady. [untrained Diplomacy check 7] The caravan leader is unimpressed, and says that the group can share the fire if they contribute some deer meat and 5 gold each.
Vauhwyt declines. She tells the group what happened, and they end up camping out alone.
Vauhwyt and Mookie take first watch.

Camping alone in the wilderness, the group makes do. Zayne grooms the mules and gathers wood. Rose cooks a delicious dinner and tasty venison popovers for the next day.
For the watches, it is Vauhwyt and Dietrich, Zayne and Theo, and Vorelle and Rose. And each watch has a raven. You guys okay with that?
The night passes uneventfully. In the morning, the group starts out east again. To the north, as the morning fog burns off, the group sees a massive mountain towering awesomely to the north. [Make an Int check (or Knowledge(local) to recognize this as Mount Bone, the infamous source of a great evil.] It rises in power and splendor, managing to loom over the group even though it is many miles away.
But by mid-afternoon the mountain has been left behind. Evening approaches, and it is time to camp again.
Dietrich d20+2=4 d20+4=17 d20+4=17 d20+2=9 Tuesday May 11th, 2004 11:40:26 AM
During the march Dietrich is glad to talk with his friends and is in a generally good mood. When Zayne approaches him more often the soldier is happy to share ideas. He is still young too, but half a decade in campaigns with the scum of humanity and the things he has seen have made him quite mature. Dietrich trys to understand his rebellious friend better, after all, he knows too good that authorities and rules are far from flawless, but also to explain him the need of disciplin, something that saved his life and garanteed the sucess of expeditions more than once. He trys to know about Zayne´s past and his goals for life. When they rest a little, Dietrich takes some (just a cup) of his beer to drink with Zayne and tells him about the Windbourne Hills, his family and ambitions.
Dietrich is a little disappointed that the caravan didn´t want them! He swears at them and call them fools. "5 gp to share a fire with those loosers! Hah!"
The young knight doesn´t feel confortable with the sight of Mount Bone, though he doesn´t know why. It´s only a mountain after all. (int check: 4)
Before camping alone again, he asks Vauhwyt to try offering their services to a caravan again. This night, he helps with the mules (handle animal 17) and proposes to keep the watch schedule. Spot: 17 Listen: 9
Theodore and Macaw d20+8=14 Tuesday May 11th, 2004 1:45:58 PM
"That is Mount Bone," Theodore explains gravely to the party. "A terrible, terrible place." It seems that even Macaw has enough respect to keep silent within sight of the looming mountain.
Theodore is more than happy to talk with Zayne. The young mage is eager to learn about the wild, having spent most of his life underground. He pays rapt attention to any detail the ranger sees fit to bequeath, such as the name of a particular flower, or the mating habits of squirrels.
He also offers his own knowledge to Zayne, as he seems to be interested in learning, too. Theodore seems particularly interested in the acquisition of knowledge and the necessity to "use it for the betterment of everyone."
When Zayne asks the young mage about girls that he likes, Theodore's face takes on a interesting pinkish hue. He averts his eyes from the curious ranger. "Well...um...Master Geoffrey says that...girls are just obstacles to...uh...achieving a powerful ability to perform the Art...um..." he stammers.
"Sarah Jones! Sarah Jones!" cries Macaw. Theodore turns an even brighter red, as if someone were holding him upside down by his ankles and all the blood had rushed to his head. He swats at his familiar in a frenzy to shut the creature up, but the mocking raven easily flaps away and lands on the head of one of the mules.
"Caw! Caw!" he laughs, and the mule snickers as if joining in on the fun.

In the shadow of Mount Bone, some conversations seem fraught with peril. After the mountain fades in the distance, the group compares stories. What seems to be common knowledge is that some foul necromancer used to live there. Some say he was associated with the Sons of Dread, whoever they are. Some say he was a servant of Marteus, god of disease. Almost everybody believes that the power of Mount Bone was behind the orc invasion that nearly destroyed Dirt City a couple years back -- the battle that destroyed the orcs was fought on the battlefield north of the city where the party fought ghouls.
Does the lord of Mount Bone still exist? Is the mountain occupied? No one knows.
The mood lightens after that. A sea breeze blows from the south, bringing a faint tang of salt. The terrain is rough -- scrub, stunted trees, bramble scattered with grasses over hills. But even in the Badlands, spring comes with a burst of green.
Rose seems to recall hearing af an inn halfway between Dirt City and Aisildur, the Goblin's Rest. Some things might be purchased there, for very high prices.
Having outpaced the caravans they saw yesterday, the group ends the day of travel with no Caravan in sight. So Vauhwyt cannot seek a place to rest. The group sets up camp for the night. There are no problems during the dark hours, but as dawn bleeds over the horizon, there is the loud sound of shuffling amid brushes.
To the south, about 80 feet away, is a black bear, looking gaunt after a long winter's sleep.
Theodore and Macaw Wednesday May 12th, 2004 10:24:16 AM
Theodore snores soundly on his bedroll, oblivious to the possible danger nearby until Macaw takes it upon himself to nip at his master's nose. The youth quickly sits up rubbing the sleep from his eyes before he notices the bear.
"My goodness!" he exclaims. "What do we do? What do we do?" He jumps up and down in a tizzy, waving his hands wildly. Macaw, having better sense, seeks the safety of a tall perch to watch the goings on from above.

Startled awake by Theo's cries,Zayne springs from his bedroll, and instinctivly reaches for his bow.

[OOC: I'll treat the two rangers as both using Wild Empathy, with the lower roll being an aid another effort to boost the higher. That means Zayne's 17 is a 19 when you add +2 for his level, and Vorelle's 16 boosts Zayne's 19 to a 21.]
The efforts of the rangers seems to be a success. Despite Theo's antics, the hungry bear takes the venison from Zayne and seems pleased with that. It wanders off, unless you guys interfere.
Assuming you let the bear wander off peacefully, the bright sun at the horizon reminds everybody that the day is a-wasting.
Camp is broken, and another day on the road brings the party to an inn by mid-afternoon.
The inn is actually more like a small fort or complex. It is build into the side of a hill set back about 500 feet from the road. There is a stockade fence surrounding the complex, and squinting in the daylight, walking along the top of the stockade, you see at least ten goblins.
You would be worried that this is a nest of evil humanoids, except for the two caravans encamped outside the stockade. One caravan has four wagons and oxen; the other has six wagons. You see plenty of humans, halflings, and the odd dwarf passing in and out of the open stockade gate.
You know this is The Goblin's Rest, as the place is named, because of the signs on either side of the gate -- of a sleeping goblin. The words "Goblins Rest" on one, and "Goblin's Rests" on the other, make it even plainer. There is a banner slung across the top of the gate -- "Merchants Welkome!"
Other than the numbers of goblins inside working (and they are definately more active at night), this is a well-fortified inn. Prices are a bit high -- 1 gp for a meal, 10 gp for a room for a night. But it is a welcoming place and seems safe enough.
Theodore and Macaw Thursday May 13th, 2004 12:18:55 PM
"Oh, wow," says Theodore. "I've never seen a goblin before. I had always heard they were nasty and mean, but those fellows seem pleasant enough." He looks on the impressive inn with an excited eye.
"Perhaps we might stop for a meal before heading on?"
Dietrich d20+4=5 d20+4=8 d20+4=19 Thursday May 13th, 2004 12:35:50 PM
Dietrich is relieved with the peaceful outcome of the event with the bear and he admires his friends for their skills with creatures.
After all that time marching, the fighter is quiet happy to see the inn. He analyses the fortifications (knowledge military: 5, carpentry: 8, masonry 19)from outside and is a little uncorfotable with the Goblins. He´s seen and fought these nasty people before and doesn´t like them too much. At Theodore´s comment, Dietrich says: "Never trust these coward Goblins. They are treacherous and cruel." But he doesn´t hate them and is too eager for a cold beer and some rest for his feet to cause any trouble.
Prices are pretty expensive and the soldier doesn´t want to stay there for a night, though he agrees to enter the inn and have some rest.
He also asks his friends to get some information.
Zayne Thursday May 13th, 2004 1:08:31 PM
As the bear leaves,Zayne is quite pleased with the way things turned out. Looking to Vorelle,"Thank you. You were quite good back there. I've been meaning to ask you about where you got your'e instruction. I know you don't like to talk much, but if you could just give me his or her name that would be okay. You do things a little different than I was taught, but I would like to learn your'e methods too. I completely understand if you would rather not talk about it though,I will respect your'e wishes."
As they approach the in,Zayne seems both disapointed and excited,"You have a good point Dietrich,we should at least see if either of the caravans knows anything about the road ahead, but I don't trust this place,I have heard too many stories about goblins to feel safe here. Besides this place doesn't look that clean,I don't know if I want to spend a whole gold piece for food that doesn't smell nearly as good as Rose's cooking." Flashing the halfling a quick grin.

But Vauhwyt isn't having any of it. "You guys go ahead. I don't think I'll go in. I'll stay here and watch the mules. Just please be careful."
Mookie is unhappy about that. "But Boss! Please!"
Vauhwyt relents a little. "Mookie, go with them. That way I'll know if there's trouble. But keep your mouth shut and don't say even one word!"
She casts Blood Armor on the raven just before sending him in with the others.

After the bear leaves rose goes back to sleep......well until she's waked for her watch.
In the morning she cooks breakfast (oatmeal with cinnamon and dried apples, honey, tea) but looks worried about the amount of supplies they have left.
At the inn rose looks around curiously and says "I don't know about eating here or spending the night, but we do need to get some supplies and find out about conditions on the road ahead.
Rose looks around and heads inside asking the propieter and some merchants about what they have for sell.
(if the inn has its own cow and chickens will see about eggs, milk, butter, chickens and fresh beef. will try to get oatmeal, flour, fresh and dried fruit and vegies, honey or other sweetener, cheese, anything the others add to the lists)
Vorelle Thursday May 13th, 2004 6:59:40 PM
When Zayne asks about her training, Vorelle replies, "I l-learned f-from the a-a-animals. W-w-watching them."

Vauhwyt and Vorelle stay back with the mules, while the rest of the group (and Mookie) head into the complex.
Inside, the goblins are eager to please. They seem to be trying to dispel their bad images, and the staff is very polite and courteous.
Theo is able to satisfy his hunger for a meal.
Dietrich satisfies his thirst. Not bad for an out-of-the-way inn.
Rose can do some shopping. She can buy most staples, but not fresh veggies, for ten times normal cost. No milk, no fresh fruit either.
Zayne listens among the caravan folk. The road ahead is fine. business has been booming since the border with Aisildur opened a couple years back. And the Aisildur patrols keep the road monster-free between here and there.
The big news is dragons! Some people calling themselves dragons were in Aisildur recently, and now there are rumors of a war with real dragons. One lone traveller swears up and down that he saw a dragon flying east just yesterday, but he is not widely believed.
Any other actions here before the group heads on towards Aisildur?

Dietrich is very satisfied they´ve had this opportunity to give his feet a little rest and some drink to his throat and is positively surprised with the Goblin service. He talks with Mookie and offers the smart bird some of the beer.
He prepares his gear again and takes a look at the caravans, trying to figure out what they are trading (inteligence test: 7). Maybe the party could do this in future too.
The fighter can´t believe that here are those rumours about dragons again! It amazes him and worries him. After all, these legendary beasts exists, and what if they are really coming...

Dietrich enjoys his beer, and Mookie enjoys it too. Dietrich notes a lot of bulk goods -- barrels and crates a-plenty. His ability to handle animals is not impaired, though. He could do that falling down drunk. (and perhaps, in times past, has!)
Rose buys some staples as she mentally tallies up the entire group. Zayne, Vorelle, Vauhwyt, Theodore, Rose, Dietrich makes five. Although Vauhwyt eats as much as four smaller people. Plus two mules and three ravens. She decides to get the oatmeal -- it's cheaper.
Theodore chats with the goblin staff. They make a point of telling him that they are friendly to all travellers. All paying customers are welcome.
Zayne keeps his eyes open for the many dangers he can imagine. Vorelle and Vauhwyt too.
The group leaves the goblin inn, makes a camp, and rests the night with no incident.
The next few days pass uneventfully. The land changes, becoming more lush. There are larger stands of trees, and the rangers note greater diversity and amounts of flora and fauna. On one night the group hears wolves howling, and on another a racoon tries to get into the stores, but neither encounter poses any danger.
Twice the party overtakes slow-moving caravans. They are hailed genially as they walk by.
On the fourth day after leaving the goblin inn, around midmorning, Zayne spots a dust cloud on the horizon, suggesting a mounted troop coming toward the party on the road ahead from the west.

"Mookie, help me find a good spot to hide, please, and tell me if I stick out too much."
"Sure, Boss. Will do." The raven offers his assistance [Hide check 18 to Aid Another in hiding]. "Boss, over here! Good! Hey, shove your rump down!"
Vauhwyt does her best to hide with Mookie's help. [Hide check 14 taking ten].

Vauhwyt, Vorelle, and Theo hide. Dietrich takes cover too, after leading the mules a good way away. (Want to roll a hide check? or take ten?) That leaves Zayne and Rose standing in the road alone!
Theo's familiar comes back, and being a bird of few words (unlike his talkative brother), simply caws, "Soldiers! Horses!"
You have one more round to act before they are in sight. Two rounds before they are in longbow range.
Dietrich Tuesday May 18th, 2004 7:50:28 AM
Dietrich takes position in front of some brushes and doesn´t try to hide. (no chance, untrained and heavy equipment). They probably have been seen already, so the fighter just keeps an arrow on the longbow and waits.
When he hears MAcaw, his tension diminishes and he hopes that the strangers are the Aisildurian patrols they have heard about. Any way, out in the wilderness there is often no diference between soldiers and bandits, so Dietrich stays cautious.

Ten mounted soldiers ride closer. You can see that they are in scale mail, with the horses in leather barding. They are carrying lances.
[By the way, Zayne figures you are pretty close to the Aisildur border. But still days away from any actual city.]
One soldier, in a breastplate, hails you at 60 feet. "Ho! The travellers!"
Rose, if you want to shoot, go ahead. I'll assume you choose not to! :-)
The soldiers rein up, coming closer, to within 40 feet. Their lances are held points up, not readied to charge.
The leader calls out, "Welcome to Aisildur, travellers! If you come with hostile intent, to rob, injure, or corrupt, then you can fight this one now or fight more soldiers of the empire later. But if you come with peaceful intent, to trade or learn or honor the great god Ga'al, then you are welcome."
He seems to wait for you to say something.
Vorelle Thursday May 20th, 2004 6:40:23 PM Oh, nothing, Your Honors, just investigating something for the Prince of Thieves in Dirt City.... Vorelle gets the feeling that the true nature of their errand will not go over well with the patrol. She hopes whoever answers will make up something good.
Theodore and Macaw Thursday May 20th, 2004 7:32:20 PM
Theodore rubs his nose and waits for someone else to do the talking. He grins foolishly at the soldiers, very happy that he doesn't have to fight.
Vauhwyt and Mookie d20-2=17 Friday May 21st, 2004 10:23:58 AM
As everybody seems to be waiting for the others to talk, into the silence there is a raucous voice.
"Yeah, learning, that's the ticket! We're all coming here to learn stuff," Mookie declares. "Like, where's a good place to get a drink, for one? I'd like to learn that."
Mookie's untrained attempt at Diplomacy doesn't sound so bad, for once, coming from him [OOC: Diplomacy check 17! woot!]
Vauhwyt just gapes.
Substitute DM Cayzle Friday May 21st, 2004 12:47:19 PM
The captain of the patrol laughs at Mookie. "Yes, sometimes once could go for a cool drink!" He says that there are refreshments to be had at Adorus outpost, just across the river.
"But seriously, tell one about who you are and what you are doing here. Start with names. This one, by the way, is Torril, captain of the fifth patrol." He indicates himself with a slight bow.
Dietrich Friday May 21st, 2004 1:55:14 PM
Dietrich is relieved the riders are really Aisuldurian patrols and find them pretty polite. He puts the arrow away and comes closer to the road, laughing at Mookies coment. "That´s a good companion for some beers!" As nobody said anything and he has an idea, the fighter will talk.
After Torril has spoken, Dietrich says:
"Greetings captain Torril! I´m Dietrich the Bear of the Windbourne Hills, at your disposal. We are travelling to mighty Aisildur to buy special goods only availeble there." Pointing at Theodore, the soldier continues: "That great scholar has contracted us and may explain it better for you, as I´m only a hired mercenary."
Zayne d20=14 Friday May 21st, 2004 2:05:04 PM
Relived to see that for once the bird's mouth didn't result in someone being annoyed,Zayne tries his hand at being the partie's face, thinking to himself,"Where is Olyn, when you need him?"
"Well Captain Torril,as the bird said we seek knowlege, not only where to find a cool drink, although that does sound nice. Maybe you can be of help to us. What do you know of these rumors of dragons?" Smiling casually,"We heard rumors during the winter, and we decided that when the wheather got better we would investigate further, the we stopped at an inn a few days back and that was al they were able to talk about. By the way my name is Zayne Farshaw and these are my companions. We do not seek any trouble, but sadly in these times we must be prepared for it should it arise. Now that we have found honest knights of the real, what fool would attemt to cause trouble, now."(Diplomacy 14)
Hoping his little speech is enough information about the group to satisfy the captain's curiosity about the groups intentions, and it's not really a lie because he did decide during the floods that he was going to investigate further. Also hoping his flattery of the soldiers combat prowess soften's the Captain's disposition more. That is also mostly true, who would attack a group of fifteen people most of them under heavy arms.
Thinking to himself,"This Prince is going to have to go,soon. He should be doing his own dirty work. Not making honest people do it for him."
Theodore and Macaw Friday May 21st, 2004 4:16:30 PM
Theodore is more than a little surprised at Dietrich's reference to him as being the sponsor for their trip. "Um...er..." he stutters, obviously not one with a very eloquent tongue.
"My name is Theodore." That's all he seems to be able to manage, at the moment.
rose Friday May 21st, 2004 7:01:18 PM
Rose has been watching and now speaks up "I'm rose"
Vorelle Saturday May 22nd, 2004 8:45:27 PM
Vorelle stays hidden. The party means no harm to Asildur; that's all these soldiers really need to know.
Vauhwyt and Mookie d20+3=20 d20+7=19 Sunday May 23rd, 2004 3:13:45 PM
Mookie looks at Zayne, Dietrich, and Theo and tilts his head confusedly.
Vauhwyt says, "Hello. I'm Vauhwyt, and you've met Mookie. Yes, we are bringing the good mage and scholar Theodore here to trade. And along the way we have heard tales of dragons, so we are learning, too, I suppose."
"But I promise you, captain, that we seek no harm to any who honor Ga'al, but we wish them peace and prosperity."
[OOC: Diplomacy (untrained) 20, Bluff 19.]
DM Jan Sunday May 23rd, 2004 11:30:11 PM
For a long moment, the Aisildurians seem a little perplexed. Perhaps an eclectic group such as the one stood before them was a rarity in their well ordered lives. Who knows? Then the Captain speaks once more.
"If its dragons you're after, one is happy to tell you they are no longer in Aisildur. They left not long ago, and headed East, praise be to the mighty Ga'al, may his wisdom and authority guide us always. "Now if it's tales of such creatures you wish for, you might find plenty of that further north, this side of the river. There's a travelers rest, an Inn called Tears of the Wood. Mayhap they know of the dragons there."
He turns and nods to his men, apparently satisfied by something, and they make to leave. "Fare thee well, travelers."
It might seem a little odd that these men are a little ways from the Aisildurian border and on Izen territory, checking out persons on the road that will eventually lead to their realm. Perhaps it raised a question as to what was happening in Aisildur right now? Again, who knows?
The road ahead leads to the Peaseblossom River, which is about half an hour away, and right now - it starts to throw it down - hard - with huge raindrops bouncing off ground, pelt and armour.
Zayne Monday May 24th, 2004 1:04:57 PM
(OOC WELCOME BACK JAN!!!)
As the soldiers leave Zayne lets out a deep breath, when they are out of hearing range,"That went pretty smooth. I think it could have gone better if only one person had spoken." Looking at Dietrich,"I don't believe you lied to them,Theo didn't pay us to do anything at all,at least my story was partly true,we are on a learning mission,I just didn't discuss whatwe are supposed to be learning."
"Oh well what's done is done, should we get moving again,I figure we are about three or four days from Aisildur. Or seeing as how we are already stopped and this spot isn't all that bad we could have our midday meal." His little speech almost sounds impartial until hs stomach begins to audibly growl just as he is finishing.
Theodore and Macaw Monday May 24th, 2004 1:43:34 PM
Theodore wipes his brow in relief. Macaw seems uninterested in the current events and flies off to look for something to captivate his attention.
"I could eat," says Theodore.
rose Monday May 24th, 2004 7:06:51 PM "What do they mean that the dragons in Aisildur left and went east? Where did they go? We need to continue on and find out more about this. I hope they didn't go to dirt city."
Rose starts her mule forward again. "Come on there's no use in waiting here."
Vorelle Monday May 24th, 2004 8:46:50 PM
When she is sure the soldiers are really gone, Vorelle steps out of her hiding place. She is amenable to stopping for a rest, or she could continue on.
Vauhwyt and Mookie Tuesday May 25th, 2004 4:18:09 AM
The liontaur seems to remember something. "Hey guys, isn't that place he mentioned the same place we're supposed to go? We should head that way after lunch!"
Jan Tuesday May 25th, 2004 11:00:24 AM
Assuming the group has a bite to eat and then continues their journey -
A junction appears in the road.
Straight ahead, over the river across a wide bridge, is the Aisildurian border, and beyond it lies the Adorus Outpost. To the rangers in the party, this road looks well travelled.
Crossing this road to the north and south - is a narrower road, less trodden down, but it looks travelled nonetheless. It looks to follow the river along its banks.
There's a signpost at the junction - originally built to point out three directions in a well-carved, orderly common script - AISILDUR (straight ahead), THE COAST (south), IZEN (back the way the group came).
However, underneath, someone has hammered a rather gaudy, hastily written sign, pointing north. It says - TEARS OF THE WOOD TAVERN GOOD EATS ANNUAL HORSE FAIRE
And under that, are some more words that looked as though they'ved been branded in. It's orcish by the looks of it.
Which way?
Zayne d20+3=20 d20=16 Tuesday May 25th, 2004 1:53:17 PM
Stopping to read the signs,"Hmm we could go to the inn and see if they can shed any light on the subject.." Stopping to try some of the dvice Dietrich gave him and trying to not be impulsive,no matter how good the eats sound,he trys to remember if this inn even exists (Knowlege Geography 20 Knowlege Local untrained 17 I forgot to add his int mod to the actual roll)"Or we can just get going to Aisildur, and grab a bite to eat there."
Then taking a closer look at the last sign,"This is written in a toung I do not know, can anyone translate it for me?"
He stands there waiting to see what the rest of the group has to say
Vauhwyt and Mookie d20+5=16 Tuesday May 25th, 2004 4:50:46 PM
"Good Eats!" says Mookie. "Count me in!"
Vauhwyt, meanwhile, studies the text on the bottom of the sign [Decipher Script 16].
"Anyway," she says, "I think it is north for us!"
rose d20+5=16 d20+4=7 Tuesday May 25th, 2004 7:00:11 PM
Rose looks worried.
"Which way are we supposed to go to get to the inn that the prince said to go to? How far way is it and how far out of the way would it be to go to this other inn?"
decipher script: 16, hmm the dice roller is giving out 16 if you have +5 to the roll :) knowledge dirt city: 7, I guess my knowledge doesnt extend this far out:)
Vorelle d20+6=9 Tuesday May 25th, 2004 8:29:11 PM
"T-tears of the W-Wood," says Vorelle unexpectedly. "Th-th-that's the one w-we're s-s-supposed to g-go to."
She only speaks Common, but she scans the ground for signs of a different sort.
