Dragon Treasure!

Spoils and a Decision. (DM Jim)
Saturday July 17th, 2004 4:02:06 PM

It is soon decided to not skin the wyrmlings as it is still a sore point with some of the group. But a decision must be made as to what to do next, not only with the bodies but to get back.

Those not otherwise detained with other things take the time to gather the few things that lay around...the beginnings of a horde most likely for the babies.

Flat-top(AC22 - 48/85hp)
Sunday July 18th, 2004 12:57:37 PM

After a nice shower under the water Fall Flat-top, stands under a tree (to dry off)with the mirror/spy glass in his hand, looking very closely at the five Copper coins in his hand. He's not feeling any too well.

Zeoll
Sunday July 18th, 2004 10:33:37 PM

Zeoll casts detect magic and then sorts the treasure into magic and non.

"Hey, everrybody, help pack up these magic items. And someone look at the nonmagic ones and see if any arre especially good in quality."

Then he looks at the dragon corpses. How big are they? Can a taur carry one? How about two taurs?

Brahmah
Sunday July 18th, 2004 11:50:35 PM

The minotaur begins looking for something to carry everything in.

He picks up the falchions and armors. Brahmah straps the falchions to his pack and rolls up the armors.

Gecktar
Monday July 19th, 2004 3:29:31 AM

Gecktar helps Zeol to carry the loot. He will take whatever is needed to carry.
Having a magical bag he can carry much more than it seems possible.

Kanchana  d20+3=21 d20+7=13 d20+7=12 d20+7=22 d20+7=9 d20+7=17 d20+7=17 d20+7=22 d20+7=8 d20+7=14 d20+7=22 d20+7=17 d20+12=13 3d8(8+7+6)+15=36
Monday July 19th, 2004 3:39:37 AM

Kanchana will appraise the non magical items for Zeoll and the others. She tries to identify the potions using her spellcraft knowledge and fails to identify a single one!
Kanchana will collect and carry the small items only. She doesn't really have the carrying capacity or strength to take any of the big stuff.

The Druidess will think about Vasch's words to her as she works with the items. She wasn't surprised at all by the depth and insight in his words. In fact she was rather pleased that he even bothered to talk to her. Kanchana will wish to take time to talk to Vasch later when they are away from anything to do directly with dragons.

After a few minutes Kanchana will go looking for Flat-top to see if he is injured like she suspects he is. When she finds him she will assess his health, then take out the CSW wand and heal him (heals 36HP). Afterwards she puts the wand away again.
She doesn't say much since she is certain that something is bothering him, and she believe that it has to do with her. She will awkwardly stand around for a minute or two and then return into the cave to help pick up some of the loot.

(Appraise 21, Spellcraft 13,12,22,9,17,17,22,8,14,22,17 against DC 25; all spellcraft checks failed to identify any potions!, Heal check 13, CSW wand heals 36HP to Flat-top)

Will carry any of these types of items (depends of course on what she is delegated to carry or if the treasure is spilt up before departure; obviously if it isn't on this list she will not be helping to carry it):

1 metal toothpick
1 mirror on a chain
1 bag of starch
1 bird seed rattle
1 potion
3 ring
4 potions
1 short stick
3 scrolls
2 rings
2 small black round gems
2 small red star gems
10 platinum
15 gold
57 silver
77 copper
6 potions
1 amulet
1 white round gem
2 cloaks
2 scrolls
1 small bag
1 bracer
1 large composite longbow
175 platinum
130 gold
388 silver
837 copper

Brahmah (Addendum, not Monday post)
Monday July 19th, 2004 7:39:04 AM

... he'll also carry anything else easily packed, wrapped or bundled...

Vasch
Monday July 19th, 2004 3:30:58 PM

Vasch looks over the mass of treasure. A slight smile cracks his stern features. That's what I'm... "Bind it together and let's get out of here. Let's carry whatever we can. We may not get a haul like this again."

Flat-top
Monday July 19th, 2004 6:11:26 PM

Flat-top after cooling off, starts to think of Kanchana, after all she did come to heal him and there's all sort of thing to doand haul in there. "I might as well go and help out."

If there's nothing to distrack him, Flat-top goes back in the cave to help.

Managram(Ciel)
Monday July 19th, 2004 6:16:42 PM

*POP!*Managran Apppears next to Leets, Barking "Bark! Bark!" Then runs to the entrance and back to Leet's side again.

Ilder(ceil)
Monday July 19th, 2004 6:19:53 PM

Ilder who was sleeping all this time, now starts to move a bit, almost as if he's getting hungry. "EEK! eek!" then smack his lips.

Treasure and Leaving?? (DM Jim)
Monday July 19th, 2004 11:19:35 PM

The group slowly pulls themselves together and gather up the looti into one pile. The stuff from earlier gatherings was also layed out. Zeoll casts a spell and starts looking over the stuff to get the magical separated from the non. He soon has two separate piles and the group starts packing it up.

Kanchana tries her hand at identifying the potions but has little success with any of them. She is able to tell that the longsword is of exceptional quality, though why she chose this item she is not sure.

It becoming more evident to some of the group that they are running out of time and that the mother could return at anytime.

Brahmah
Tuesday July 20th, 2004 12:44:42 AM

Brahmah pockets the rings, scrolls(into his scroll case), short stick, potions, club, small bag, bracer and white gem.
He hands the morning star and hides to Flat-top.

"Everyone, please, we must leave. Now. Pick up what remains and lets fly."

Jay B
Tuesday July 20th, 2004 12:45:39 AM

OOC: Ilder?? Whose Ilder??

Gecktar
Tuesday July 20th, 2004 2:44:11 AM

Gecktar is the first to want to get out this area. The mother may come back at any moment and it will be a different fight.
Taking what he can carry, he get out the place...

Flat-top
Tuesday July 20th, 2004 5:47:03 AM

Flat-top takes Hide armor and Morning star from Brahmah, comtinues to gather the amulet, cloaks, Bow, Shield and anything that's scarthered around.

"Elder? Elder? OH! Yes, that Kanchana's pet weasel, he was sleeping in her bag." Flat-top follows the rest of the taurs out of the cave.
Smiling to himself, 'the cattaurs will love going under the water fall again, he he he'

Zeoll (hp 26 of 36)
Tuesday July 20th, 2004 7:02:24 AM

Zeoll's first priority is to helps pack up the magical stuff.

Then he wants to prep the corpses for carrying along as well. Then the entire group can get going! [OOC: See above where I asked how big and heavy the corpses are. I'm assuming we can manage to bring them and the loot -- or at least the magic loot.]

As they leave, Zeoll continues to use his prestidigitation cantrip to help erase any signs of passage. Of course, the Pass Without Trace spells should do 99% of that job.

Leets
Tuesday July 20th, 2004 11:04:30 AM

Leets can't help but feel bad toward Kanchana...

"I'm sorry Kanchana...I just wish all the Chosen could share the same way...Or more precisely, I wish the same way was offered all the Chosen..."

"Anyway, I'm glad you are there, and since you talk of it, the wyrm burned me badly over this arm..."

Brahmah
Tuesday July 20th, 2004 7:54:10 PM

"Kanchana, I forgot you have a weasel. We'll have to keep Pah'caw away from him." He smiles impishly.

Leaving Through the Falls. (DM Jim)
Tuesday July 20th, 2004 9:47:52 PM

The group packs away the stuff and start to head out of the cavern. If they want to they can take the wyrmling bodies with them, but it will take two of them per body and their movement will be cut in half.

The falls loom before the group and they know that they must be careful on the slippery rocks and path. Traveling as swift as the group possibly can without endangering themselves, they will make it half way to the camp site that the mother red torched.

Zeoll (hp 26 of 36)
Wednesday July 21st, 2004 12:30:21 AM

Zeoll helps bring out the bodies. He knows that they are not making great time, but what choice is there?

"Come frriends, let's move as fast as we can."

[OOC: If it would help to hustle (forced march rules) and take some subdual damage, I say go for it!]

Gecktar
Wednesday July 21st, 2004 3:20:55 AM

Gecktar will not help to take the wyrmling bodies, even if he knows that their hide can be of high value.
He thinks they must rest in peace to find the way to Gargul and Domi and will say it to the other Chosen.

Brahmah
Wednesday July 21st, 2004 7:54:40 AM

The monitaur will push himself to exhaustion to drag the loot, bodies and living wyrms as far as possible.

"What I wouldn't give for a teleporting wizard right about now! Hey, how far down do you think these falls go Flat-top?"

(OOC: How tall are the falls, Jim?)

Toros
Wednesday July 21st, 2004 8:57:58 AM

Toros will be helping Zeoll to carry, and ready to take some subdeal damage in order to return quickly.

Toros
Wednesday July 21st, 2004 9:52:08 AM

OOC: Jim, what is the situation of the last dragon, hope it is alive!?

I think it is better for Toros to be carrying the still-living one.

Flat-top
Wednesday July 21st, 2004 10:11:22 AM

To answer Brahmah's question, "OH! about six to ten feet ti'll it hits the stream, I wish these has less to eat, because they are heavy. Why do you ask Captain? are you thinking of throwing them into the water, then hauling them out from the shallow end of the steam? That sound like a good idea!"

Flat-top grunts along, just as they get to the falls Flat-top turn to Brahmah, "Wait a minute? I have the frount end and you have the tail end? How are we going to thoss these Babies into the water? get them to the edge of the ledge and let the Falls push the over?"

Kanchana  d8+1=6
Wednesday July 21st, 2004 3:52:56 PM

Kanchana will gladly help Leets with some healing. She gently taps the CLW wand onto his injured arm; but not onto the injury proper mind!
Before leaving the cave Kanchana makes certain to splatter Rythiniag's blood around where there were still signs of a fight. If she is conscripted to help to carry any of the bodies she will do her best to help out, and she will move as quickly as she can. Any damage incurred from a forced march can be healed with some good old fashioned sleep.
Kanchana gives Ilder some dried meat from her rations and some water from her waterskin. She apologizes to her weasel companion for the shoddy fare and promises that she will find something better for him once they are safer.

(CLW wand heals 6HP to Leets.)

Brahmah
Wednesday July 21st, 2004 7:18:17 PM

OOC: Just a note, but anyone with the Endurance feat, gets a bonus to saving against exhaustion.

Moving On. (DM Jim)
Wednesday July 21st, 2004 11:41:03 PM

The group move on with little trouble as they are not forcing themselves at this time. You have gotten well past the area that the red dragon blasted, but it is starting to tell on you all.

[Let me know if you are going to make a forced march and make rolls as needed. I am assuming that you are not doing this at this time as not everyone said so. As far as you know all of the baby dragons are dead, they do not appear to be breathing or anything of the sort.]

Gecktar  d20+2=13
Thursday July 22nd, 2004 3:14:29 AM

Gecktar adopt a forced pace. The fastest they go away from the cave the faster he will recover a good mood.
For the moment he thinks that all artifices that the chosen used to hide their passage will be useless against such intelligent creature.
Realizing that there can be an strategic advantage to take the wyrmlings, he will now help those carrying the dragons.

(OOC what roll is needed for forced march ? Assume Con roll = 13)

Paw'Caw(ceil)
Thursday July 22nd, 2004 4:30:03 AM

Once Paw'caw know that her master is out of that cave, she takes to the sky, flying to his shoulder. Looking at him, then at the corps they are draging, as if to say 'A gift for me?'

Managram(ceil)
Thursday July 22nd, 2004 4:35:03 AM

Leets trots proudly beside Leets, the dog has his chest puff out as if to say 'Look what I did??'

Ilder((ceil)
Thursday July 22nd, 2004 4:41:58 AM

Ilder pokes his head out of the pouch, churps a little, smells the air, looks around, seeing that he's to hight to jump down, goes back into the pouch to finish the piece of meat and yellow pine cone.

Brahmah
Thursday July 22nd, 2004 5:14:51 AM

Brahmah smiles at his eagle friend and says to her, "My hands are full. I'll visit with you later and maybe some food. Take to the air and look for the Big Red." He points to the body of the baby he's helping to carry. "Watch for their mama."

Toros  d20=18
Thursday July 22nd, 2004 8:35:07 AM

Toros is doing his best to carry his load together with his friends. He is also happy that they are now away from the cave, where they fight with babies. It is good to leave memories behind and be outside.

(d20+3, 18+3, 21 constitution check for forced march)

Kale
Thursday July 22nd, 2004 9:33:54 AM

staying near the rear of the group this time, Kale keeps an eye out for anyone following them

Leets
Thursday July 22nd, 2004 3:55:41 PM

Leets thanks Kanchana for her healing, and picks up his morningstar and his shield before leaving.

"I hope all this was worth it...Let's finish this job as soon as possible Chosen!"

Although still wounded, Leets will help carrying the dead wyrmlings. He smiles when Managarms barks around him:

"Good dog! I think you'll have a little companion to play with, what's your weasel's name, Kanchana?"

Flat-top
Thursday July 22nd, 2004 6:50:03 PM

Flat-top pulls and haul and grunts and sweat. "Yes Leets! I hope it's worth it!. He marches on.

Kanchana  d20+2=13 d20+12=19 d20+4=10
Thursday July 22nd, 2004 7:03:32 PM

Kanchana bites her teeth together and pushes on with the others. She is not thrilled about carrying dead weight around. To her it was bad enough to murder the little dragon cubs, but to now carry them around like macabre trophies is revolting. The druidess does not making her disgust known in any way.
She vows to herself to have that talk with Vasch the first opportunity that comes her way. Kanchana truly wants him to know how much she appreciated his words and insight.
Huffing and gasping for extra air Kanchana answers Leets briefly, "his name is Ilder." She takes a deep breath as she scrutinizes Leets. "I see I didn't heal you quite enough Leets." *short pause* "I will rectify that when we stop for a breather."

Kanchana talks to Ilder as he eats his food. "Ilder you have nothing to fear from either Managarm or Pah'caw they are rather friendly. Also I fully intend to talk to them about helping to keep you safe." She wisely doesn't mention anything about anyone possibly being seen as dinner at any point.

(Con check (forced march pace) 13, Heal check 19, Wild Empathy 10)

Zeoll
Thursday July 22nd, 2004 8:38:15 PM

"Frriends, we need to get moving, and fast. I don't know wherre, but I want to be away when the momma comes back. And these Pass Without Trrace spells won't last forreverr."

He tries to set a very fast pace.

[OOC: Actually, the "Forced March" rules are for marching more than 8 hours a day. What we want to do is "Hustle" (see PHB page 164). There are no rolls; the first hour is free. The second hour inflicts 1 hp nonlethal damage. The third hour, 2 more hp; the fourth, 4 more, the fifth, 8 more. Plus we are "Fatigued" after the first hour (no run or charge, -2 Str and Dex).]

Pushing the Limits. (DM Jim)
Friday July 23rd, 2004 1:01:37 AM

The group has been pushing for all they are worth but the battle and now this forced march is too much. They can tell by some of the surroundings that they are maybe nine hundred yards from the opening of the cave that leads to the gold dragon.

Kanchana is the first to start noticing that the group is pushing itself too far. Some of you are almost ready to drop on your feet and that is not a good thing. It is all good and well to take a break for some time, at least a couple of hours.

Brahmah
Friday July 23rd, 2004 1:44:17 AM

Brahmah will push, but knowing his limitations, though he'd never admit having any, he stops without a word and takes a break. He just drops what he's carrying and sits.
He finishes his waterskin and debates finishing his wine, but holds off on the wine until tonight or tomorrow.
He fishes around inside his pack and removes some meat from a sealed bag and hands it to Pah'caw. "Here." Is the only word he can muster.

Zeoll
Friday July 23rd, 2004 1:44:57 AM

"Whew," Zeoll declares, setting down the wyrmling corpse for a moment. "Why don't we take a 20 minute brreak and then hide in yon cave?"

"Meanwhile, if you all will excuse me, I will be back in a moment."

Zeoll looks sheepish and heads out of earshot behind some bushes.

Leets
Friday July 23rd, 2004 2:35:50 AM

"I fear I just need some rest Kanchana, although a little bit more healing would be great..."

Leets stops pushing/pulling and drinks some water. He'll get a look at his wound, but also at the others if needed. He'll also use this break to check his armor and see if it was damaged.

Gecktar  d20+7=25
Friday July 23rd, 2004 5:30:44 AM

Gecktar drops what he his carrying and thanks Brahmah for that break. He is nearly out of breath.
A couple of hours of rest will be welcome.
Gecktar will attend all those needing healing.

(Heal check 25)

Flat-top
Friday July 23rd, 2004 7:08:21 AM

When Brahmah drops his end of the Wyrm, Flat-top (being so tired) almost drop to the ground. "Captain! Please let me know when you want to stop and drop the load." His mood is still a little black. Pick up his water skin, takes a healty drink, ask Brahmah "Where are we taking these bodies, to the Gold's cave? or Back to what left of the orcs and ogers camp site?."

Idler(ceil)
Friday July 23rd, 2004 7:20:08 AM

As Kanchana bends over to pick up somthing, Idler pops his head out of the bag and sees that Brahmah is waving food in the air, 'Oh! this minotaur want to feed me?' Jumps out of the bag, runs to Brahmah and props himself on his leg, sniffing. But then theres this dog comming at him, barking 'Bark(STOP) Bark(STOP)'.

Ilder run full speed, then jumps into Kanchana's arms.

Managram(ceil)
Friday July 23rd, 2004 7:30:46 AM

Managram is very happy to head that there is another pet to play with (in between fight ofcourse). Then the dog spots this weasel propt up on Brahmah leg sniffing at Paw'caws food. "Well, this little weasel better go home, we don't allow thieves in this party." Managram chases that little weasel, but where does he go?? Into Kanchana's arms.

Managram sits at Kanchana's paws tilts his head as if to say 'He's yours?'

Paw'caw(ceil)
Friday July 23rd, 2004 7:46:17 AM

Paw'caw is flying not as high as she would have but high enough to give a warning to the Taurs if a big bird was comming. Look towards the party and spots her master waving food for her. She dives toward him to snach the big pice of meat. When...

There is danger attacking her master's leg. 'That enermy will be dead in a few seconds.' Now she is in attack speed, whe this thief of a weasel run into Kanchana's arms.

She pulls up, slows her speed, them lands on Brahmah's shoulder, Looking at him asking 'What's a weasel doing here?'

Kale
Friday July 23rd, 2004 9:43:39 AM

while everyone stops for a break, Kale will slip into the woods to make sure they are not being followed

Kanchana  d8+1=4 d20+12=25 d20+5=24 d20+3=12
Friday July 23rd, 2004 5:16:51 PM

Kanchana holds Ilder close to her and turns her side quickly towards Managarm, effectively placing herself between him and Ilder. Then she realizes that Managarm is questioning her and isn't being unfriendly in any way. She reaches down with one hand and scratches Mangarm about the head and ears. She hopes that her like that sort thing; most dogs usually do in her experience.
"Yes, Managarm Ilder is my friend like you are Leets'." She grins and introduces Ilder to Managarm telling the weasel that Managarm isn't dangerous. "Ilder this is Managarm Leets' companion and friend. Managarm this is Ilder, Ilder is my companion and friend."
After she is done setting everything right between the two animals she heads over to Leets to administer some more healing.
Kanchana is too busy to even consider why she picked up and is lugging around a long sword. With any luck she will remember to ask Mother Wold and Father Tomi about that odd behaviour of hers in her prayers later.
Kanchana will take some time to help Ilder forage for some decent food for himself while the others are resting up. She feels confidant that she should at least something edible for Ilder.

(Heals Leets a paltry 4HP, Knowledge Nature 25, Spot 24, Search 12 (looking for food for Ilder))

((Leets let me know how many more HP you are still injured please.))

Brahmah
Saturday July 24th, 2004 5:42:02 PM

Looking at Pah'caw, he smiles, "That's Kanchana's friend."

Flat-top
Sunday July 25th, 2004 9:07:06 AM

Flat-top who was in a black mood, withneses the reaction between the little weasel, the dog and the eagle. He starts to laugh and feels better.

"Now where are we going again? To the Gold's Cave? Or To the Orcs camp?"

Vasch
Sunday July 25th, 2004 10:07:49 AM

Vasch marches on in silence trying to conserve his energy for the march.

Away from here. He thinks at Flat-top's posed question. His mind drifts off to what this floating city may look like. He can't help a smile as he thinks of the children safe.

Brahmah
Sunday July 25th, 2004 10:00:28 PM

"I think if we go to the Golds cave, we should expect the Reds mama to show up there. If we go the orc camp, we have no place to hide, the tents were burnt. Though, the cliffs there in the camp might be a place to hide."

Zeoll (hp 26 of 36)
Sunday July 25th, 2004 10:35:06 PM

Zeoll looks around and smiles at the antics of the animals.

Then he answers Flat-top. "Let's go to this cave rright herre," he says, pointing. "And then we can go to the Gold Cave. I like the sound of that!"

Toros
Monday July 26th, 2004 2:24:17 AM

Toros takes time to have a rest, before starting to move again.

Vasch
Monday July 26th, 2004 8:28:08 AM

"If you think the red will be at the gold's cave then, everyone up now." He says with a new sense of urgency. "There are two little ones and their mothers in that cave. So we need to beat the red mother there, get the location of this floating city, and get out before we get caught in the middle."

Getting Aquainted. (DM Jim)
Monday July 26th, 2004 8:41:07 PM

The Chosen companions get a little aquainted as the group takes some time to rest. They can sense the urgency from each other as they talk over the next step and the mother red.

Talk is about taking to the cave that is nearby to rest up some more, but it is also pointed out that the group may want to get back to the gold's cave. The red will most likely be looking for a little revenge and with the planted blood that is her most likely target at this point.

Decisions must be made and made fast. Brahmah feels this keenly as the others look to him for a decision.

Brahmah
Monday July 26th, 2004 9:11:08 PM

Brahmah thinks outloud for a moment.

"Now, Rathiniag said he'd take care of the Mother Red, and if he did not return, we were to be sure to get his hoard to the village... I think he means to take the fight to the Red and means also, to die trying. I believe the Gold saw his own death and wants us to see to the village.
To Rathiniag's Roost and some rest... I hope."

There is doubt in his voice, but also courage and conviction of the Goal.

Zeoll
Monday July 26th, 2004 10:33:55 PM

Zeoll agrees with Brahmah, and follows the captain's lead.

Flat-top
Tuesday July 27th, 2004 5:28:42 AM

Flat-top flips a coin into the air several times, trying to get the attention of Ilder. At the same time answering Brahmah, "I think your right, we should go to the Gold's cave first, if just to check up on the Cubs and the mothers."

Flat-top flips the coin one more time, but this time he lets the coin fall between himself and Kanchama and lets the coin just lay there. Sure enough the young Ilder notice.

Managram(ceil)
Tuesday July 27th, 2004 5:40:10 AM

Managram lays at Leets hoves, with his eyes closed, bur does not miss a single sound around them. Then it happens, that strange sound, he opens his eyes and there is tha new friend is picking up something shinny, 'Oh Boy! Play time! Fetch the coin!'

Managran runs after the coin, chaching the weisel here and there. The chase stop when the little one jumps into Kancana's pouch. So Managran will sit at her feet until Ilder comes out and play again.

Ilder(ceil)

Idlder is in the pouch, something is odd is going on. Much too quiet, so he poke his head out of his nice little den to see if anything is going on. Yes there is a shinny thingie flying through the air. When that Taur drops it to the ground, Ilder get out of the pouch and runs to the coin, picks it up, smells it.

When along come Leets friend, he wants thingie 'No! No! My shinie thingie!'. Idler runs to get away from friend, but cannot out run the friend, so he goes to Mama taur and into the pouch. 'Ahhh! Safe.'

Gecktar
Tuesday July 27th, 2004 1:40:00 PM

"I agree with you Brahmah, let's go to the Gold"

Saying that Gecktar remembers the first encounter with the gold. He remembers how he was shacking like a dried leaf...

Brahmah
Tuesday July 27th, 2004 7:04:09 PM

After several minutes of rest and a drink of water, Brahmah slags on, toward the Gold's Cave.

"Chosen, regardless of your thoughts on the subject, we've done a good thing here." He says, stern-faced.

Toros
Tuesday July 27th, 2004 10:18:34 PM

Toros follows other Chosen towards the cave.

Kanchana
Tuesday July 27th, 2004 11:22:09 PM

Kanchana laughs to herself over the animals' antics. If everyone is ready to leave for Rythiniag's cave then she will also make ready to leave. After all they cannot waste too much time just standing around chatting. Kanchana still doesn't agree with Brahmah that they have done something good, but she will not challenge anything for the moment.

Zeoll (hp 26 of 36)
Tuesday July 27th, 2004 11:26:18 PM

Still oozing blood from a tail-lash-wound, Zeoll remembers how he tried to avoid killing the dragons. But he decides against talking about it. Some seem sensitive, and he does not want to rub salt into these wounds.

Instead, he focuses on what's ahead. "Gold Cave? That sounds like a grreat place! We need to sit down and sorrt thrrough ourr loot."

Wednesday July 28th, 2004 12:32:19 AM

Because Kanchana must be becoming used to seeing red all over everyone she must have somehow missed Zeoll's glaringly obvious wound!

Kanchana will waste no further time in helping Zeoll heal.

Gecktar
Wednesday July 28th, 2004 8:14:11 AM

Gecktar is convinced of one thing : they had to separate the mother and the wyrmling. But to kill them, at this age they are merely beasts and they have fought harshly. Trying to take them alive they merely kill Leets and Toros...
...
They had to kill them, their blood didn't let them take another way than evil.

But what is done is done... No one can change back these things. They have to focus on their next goal : trying to get the children to the flying city.

Vasch paces somewhat impatient since Brahmah statement of the Red and Gold battling. As the discussion of where to go leans towards the cave of the gold dragon, Vasch starts to move off in that direction.

Flat-top
Wednesday July 28th, 2004 9:06:16 AM

Flat-top Is having fun with the animals when all of a sudden the party leave for the Gold's Cave, "Hey! Wait a minute! I'm not hauling these dead bodies all by myself, I'm leaving them here until further orders!".

Flat-top follows the rest of the Taurs to the path of the Golds Cave.

To the Cave. (DM Jim)
Wednesday July 28th, 2004 12:27:36 PM

The group moves out towards the gold's cave to have a little rest and relaxation. As they trudge along they suddenly hear a roar of pure and utter rage, mixed with a loss. It came from a lot further up the mountain and to venture a guess...the red mother.

This is all that is needed for the group to feel a little bit of panic. Look what a gold had done to them and he was not even an enemy.

It is painfully obvious that you could move faster without the wyrmling bodies, but what to do with them. It is another hard decision that needs to be made.

Flat-top
Wednesday July 28th, 2004 3:17:20 PM

Flat-top ais troting in back of the Taurs, when he hears a ROAR and it did not sound very frendly. He turns looking up. There she is, up the mountain, it's the Red Mother and she is NOT happy.

Flat-top feel panic, he turns Yelling over his shoulder, "You can have the babies!" he starts to gallop going full speed to the gold cave. Along the way he grabs Kanchana's hand, telling her "Come on Sweets! Time to run as fast as we can!".

Brahmah
Wednesday July 28th, 2004 5:35:50 PM

Brahmah drops his end of a baby red and makes for the Gold's cave.
"Drop them! Move!!" There is actual fear in the eyes of teh Captain as he runs possibly the fastest he's moved ever.
"Don't make me make it an order! Go!!"
He looks apologetically back at Kanchana, and the others that tried to help the wyrmlings.

Kanchana  d20+8=17
Wednesday July 28th, 2004 7:00:19 PM

Kanchana checks that Ilder is OK with her free hand. Her other hand is held firmly in Flat-top's grasp. She basically was forced to drop the wyrmling that she was carrying by default of being 'dragged along' at a full run.
However before leaving the area where most of the wyrmlings were dropped she casts an obscuring mist spell on the area before being dragged off by Flat-top.

Kanchana notices Brahmah's look of apology aimed her way and she looks confused briefly.
"I wasn't the one who wanted to bring the dead dragon-cubs along!", she explains to Brahmah, "please don't worry about my sensibilities. I hope the mists serve to hide the corpses for a bit. With any luck the grieving mother will be distracted."

(Concentration check 17; cast obscuring mist, Drd1, covers a 20ft radius and with a height of 20ft, lasts 4 min.)

[OOC: How far away is that dragon roar? A mile? less? Is it behind the group or in front of them?]

Zeoll thanks Kanchana for the healing.

When the roar sounds and the Chosen panic, Zeoll wonders where the courage of the Chosen has gone. "This is no rretrreat!" he says as he follows the command to drop the corpse and flee. "This is a rrout!"

Nonetheless, he obeys Brahmah, makes like a tree, and leaves.

Toros

Vasch  d20+3=15
Thursday July 29th, 2004 12:49:11 PM

The great roar of the red dragon chills Vasch to the core of his being. Having felt the terror that filled him in the presence of the gold, he tries not to imagine how the feelings might be if the dragon actually was as upset as that roar sounded.

He hears some talk coming from some of the others. Unintelligible to his ears as all his mind can focus on is the sound of the roar and terror's icy grip that controls him.

"BY TOMI!!!" Is all that leaves the lips of Vasch before he realizes that his legs are already moving him. He runs as fast as his four legs and the terrain will allow him to move. He only hopes it's fast enough.

The Fury of a Mother. (DM Jim)
Thursday July 29th, 2004 9:41:49 PM

The roar comes again from up the mountain behind you. As the group races on towards the gold's cave, some of you look back over your shoulders. You see a rapidly increasing form in the distance and you wonder if you will make the cave at this rate.

The fog spell covers a great area and you can soon see nothing behind you that is too low to the ground anyways. It is terrifyingly apparent that the mother is flying higher than the fog, but will the babies bodies distract her.

As her form grows larger you suddenly suspect that it will be a close call and you may just make the cave, if she does not stop. As she roars again you would guess that she has spotted you all.

[OOC: Do not expect to reach the cave with your next post. The going is still rough and you cannot go flat out without accidents.]

Kale

They are heading for the Gold's cave.

"Trust me I don't want to look back! I know that the corpses are hidden from view by the mists for just a little bit longer." Kanchana runs as fast as is possible over the rough terrain.
"We should have left the dead dragon-cubs at the cave though!" Kanchana certainly looks very much afraid of what might happen to them all; mamma sounds absolutely furious. She reminds herself that she left Rythiniag's scent behind and now they are heading for his cave. She questions the wisdom of that action.

Vasch
Friday July 30th, 2004 12:27:04 PM

The roars continue from the cave. Terror continues to drive Vasch as he begins to bound as he moves towards the cave. He tries to put as much distance as possible between himself and the red dragon.

[Vasch will be using Jump to try and avoid having to move over the uneven terrain. Taking 10 (if possible) for Jump as he moves gives him a Jump DC25]

Giving caution to the wind the group decides to abandon all thoughts of safety. Kanchana stays on her feet as she races along but the others find their footing going. Kale, Zeoll, Brahmah, Flat-top and Vasch find themselves hitting some looser rocks and slipping.

[Need a Dex or Balance check of 14 to stay on your feet. If failed then a Str check 14 to catch yourself and only take 6 damage.]

The cave is drawing closer but anyone looking back will notice that they mother is also gaining. It seems that she is passing over the fog area to chase on after you and the cave. It is clear now that you may reach the cave, but she will also reach it seconds after you.

[Depending on how those that slipped turns out. Most of you should reach the cave this round but be just inside the mouth of it.]

Flat-top jump over tree stumps and little ditches. He enter's the Gold's cave yelling "THE RED IS COMMING! SHE"S RIGHT BEHIND ME! GET OUT THE WAY WE CAME IN!"

Kanchana  d20+8=23 d20+8=15
Sunday August 1st, 2004 7:46:56 AM

As Kanchana arrives at the cave with little time to spare she does not run into the cave like Flat-top said to do.

"Take this! Save the cubs! I have a plan!" Kanchana calls out to Flat-top first and foremost.
She shrugs off her haversack and tosses it to Flat-top, along with the precious wands of healing. She doesn't have time to explain and hopes that he will keep running.

The Druidess stops, reaches up and touches the stone to one side and near the top of the cave mouth and asks it to soften and ooze. With any luck the cave opening will now be too small for the mother dragon to even stick her snout into.

Kanchana hopes to buy time for the others to save the cubs. She knows very well that she risks great danger to herself by stopping here to fiddle with the stone. 'I am either very brave or very stupid!' the she-wemic admonishes herself.

Kanchana takes Ilder out of the pouch and tells him run like the wind away from the cave opening and towards the interior of the cave.

If she has any time left before the red dragon arrives she will begin to run away from the opening as fast as she can and without too much reguard for bruised legs. She is primarily hoping to find something to hide behind.

Kanchana offers up a desparate prayer to Mother Wold and Father Tomi that at least the others, Kenisha, Vrurt and the cubs make it through this unscathed. She leaves her own fate in the hands of her spiritual Father and Mother.
