Tericus(detect evil) Thursday August 12th, 2004 7:13:56 AM
"Something isnt right here." Tericus mutters to himself as he concentrates on his spell(range of 60 ft)
Nonam (arcane sight, comprehend languages, see invisible, dark vision, evasion, SR19...) Thursday August 12th, 2004 11:43:56 AM
Seeing that Gareth's answers didn't provoke any sort of reaction one way or the other, Nonam says in undercommon, "We came to help destroy that lich Morlas, you know, but if you don't want the help, we'd be happy to leave."
He notices the drow looking at Keiran and adds, "The dragon is Lathiese's son. Fai'fasal said he was an ally of yours, yes? Now either shoot us or take us to where we can be of some use."
Jandar d20+17=37 Thursday August 12th, 2004 2:18:42 PM
Jandar stays quite, with a spell ready, in case arrows fly. Otherwise, he simply continues to look around.(spot nat 20, total 37)
Addinein Thursday August 12th, 2004 6:23:49 PM
Not sure what maybe happening here, Addinein decides to keep to himself. He'll spend the time observing as best he can.
Noticing the lack of femails, Addinein worrys a little about what motivates this bunch of males.
Jus Thursday August 12th, 2004 8:28:07 PM Not yet, Keiran, Jus thinks to the dragon. These are likely allies, but they need to make sure we don't come to kill them instead.
Jus gives a peculiar look to the archer close by pointing an arrow towards his head. Something that silently says "Are you stupid, or what?" Arrows are great, but at point-blank range, the archer is way too easy to hit.
Think carefully about everything you hear from this point onward, Keiran, Jus warns the dragon. Many in the drow will lie to you and say whatever is needed, if it would convince you to do their will. Most would care little if any of us died, including you, as long as they get what they want.
Gareth Thursday August 12th, 2004 10:04:49 PM
The warrior waits for the drow to reply. "As our mage stated, Fai'fasal will be interested to see us. Please inform him.".
Descriptions escape me... (ADM Jay B) Friday August 13th, 2004 12:47:09 AM
[OOC: I just realized I don't have Onrad's PC sheet. Jerry, please re-send it.]
The drow stand down, several drow disappear (including the drow aiming at Jus' head), and the illusions fade quickly.
One of the casters in the rear row steps forward and signals for the group to follow. Silently they move toward camp, traveling in and out of the shadows of the mountains, squinting in the light.
There are no signs of evil that Tericus can feel, though, such signs can be covered up.
The makeshift village rises on the horizon. It's profile leans against the stone surface of the box-canyon. As you approach, drow can be seen peering out from patches of trees and 40 foot tall posts with single planks as perchs. Scouts shift in and out of the shadows like some sort of awkward drow dance. None of the structures are defined as larger or more important. None are astentatious or ornate on the outside. You cross what seems to be a barrier of sorts, and the group of drow breaks up, except the one leading you. You weave in and out of the buildings and stop.
The drow leading, directs you to a rather plain mud and cloth structure that resembles a bee hive. He points to the cloth covering the entrance, bows, and leaves.
(OOC: Excuse the village appearance, I wasn't clear on its appearance. So, if you know of certain things I may miss, let me know please!! Yes, I went through the archives.)
Nonam Friday August 13th, 2004 7:15:21 PM
Nonam looks around and is a bit unimpressed, "I was unaware that Morlas had already forced you out of your subterranean homes. How long has he been down there?"
[We've never been to this particular drow family's village/city/homes/etc, so whatever you have to say is fine. We're here to help them reclaim their underground city, but beyond that we've never discussed their living arrangments.]
Gareth Friday August 13th, 2004 9:14:21 PM
The warrior calms down Max and steps in behind the drow. He doesn't respond to the living arrangements but stoicly waits for the drow warrior they are here to meet.
Tericus Saturday August 14th, 2004 10:57:44 AM
"Im fairly certain something else came with us." Tericus whispers to Nonan, "Though I dont dare cast right now to find out."
Addinein d20+5=22 d20+5=7 Monday August 16th, 2004 10:55:12 AM
Standing down and following the others, Addinein looks at the surroundings of the Drow as they lead the group to their leader. Addinein hopes that he can spot (22) or hear (7) anything that might improve their situation.
Onrad d20+16=21 d20+16=17 d20+16=26 Monday August 16th, 2004 4:12:42 PM
Onrad walks with a chipper step wondering at a second surface drow city that hasn't proven itself evil yet. Hmm.....
He smiles at all he sees and tries to bug Nonam and Tericus into doing the same for fun.
"Hey Jus, we should be smiling, don't you think? First impressions and all? Perhaps a little travelling ditty?"
[To Jay, he's being sarcastic. Old news between Nonam and Onrad.]

See No Evil.... (ADM Jay B) Monday August 16th, 2004 7:11:42 PM
The group senses no malevolence among the drow, though a few do snap sharp glances at you.
Your left standing in front of the plain looking hut. Your disappears around a corn and is gone.
You enter? the mud, thatch and cloth beehive hut, which is sparsly decorated with a small table with a map of the canyon, a plain wall tapestry of what looks to have a drow list of warrior disciplines written on it. The tapestry is directly opposite a large dominating throne. A well armed male drow who is sitting on a throne made of some sort of bone and silver velvet pillows. The bone resembles that of some sort of dire animal, not humanoid.
"Greetings, I would assume your the fellows who tried to send the message several days ago? We recieved the most important bits of it. "Storm Dragons and Morlas coming...", however, we didn't hear when or how. Thank you for trying.
I'm Fai'fasal, Protector of House Yntyrin... and Teir'dal." He stands and approaches Gareth. He extends a gloved hand in greeting, all the while keeping his other on the hilt of his sword. This is more a defensive stance than offensive. In fact, under the circumstances, it's understandable. He doesn't know what to expect.
Nothing odd is noticed within the beehive hut and the only noise is the seemingly normal activity going on outside.
[Is Keiran out and about or did he re-enter his 'cave'?]
Gareth Monday August 16th, 2004 9:08:08 PM
The warrior clasps the drow warrior's hand. "It's good to see you Fai'fasal, Protector of the Houses Yntyrin and Teir'dal. I think we ran across the former protector of House Teir'dal at the temple. I am Gareth Justinian of the Storm Dragons (motions to the others). We have come to offer our help to defeat Morlas. It seems he has taken on many enemies. I hope we are able to break his hold on your home - and prevent him from invading ours.".
Jandar Tuesday August 17th, 2004 12:29:10 AM
Jandar just goes along quietly, not really surprised that his message got garbled. Knowing that Morlas and his followers seem to know what they are up to constantly, he just shrugs his shoulders and leaves the talking to Gareth.
Addinein Tuesday August 17th, 2004 10:43:48 AM
Knowing that the group has met before. Addinein frets as he wonders whether their intial indecision will be thrown back in their face at all.
Fai'fasal has been oddly patient when dealing with the Storms, and Addinein hopes that patience hasn't worn out. On the heel of that though comes the realization that Addinein has maybe been around the humans too long.
He shrugs his shoulders and thinks, maybe it's just the game of houses, as usual.
Nonam Wednesday August 18th, 2004 4:23:43 PM
Nonam nods to Fai'fasal, "It seems we meet again."
Onrad Wednesday August 18th, 2004 4:35:11 PM
Onrad smiles respectively and performs a short bow of respect among equals. He too is content to let one person take the lead here.
Tericus Wednesday August 18th, 2004 9:31:11 PM
Tericus stands quietly and waits to see what happens
Speak No Evil... (ADM Jay B) Thursday August 19th, 2004 4:45:08 AM
[Where is Jus again? I'll assume Keiran is back in his 'cave'.]
The drow warrior's eyes get wide with a recognition. "Aw yes! Of course..." He relaxes his sword hand. His expression then flattens slowly as he listens to Gareth. "Morlas. That creature would do well staying away from this settlement." Fai'fasal returns to his throne. "The Houses Yntyrin and Teir'dal will not stand for this! He's taken our females, he's taken our city... there's nothing else we have but our skin and he means to take it!" He calms slightly. "Now you're the bringers of ill tidings." His eyes grow dark and narrow as his looks into the distance.
Max whispers just enough for Gareth to hear, but no one else, 'He's a bit unstable it seems. How can this man be the leader of two Houses? He couldn't lead a dwarf to a tavern, let alone make him drink!'
Staring at the wall, Fai'fasal pats his sword's hilt. "Yes. The lich will pay."
Then a lilting female voice can be heard, seemingly directed at the Storm Dragons. 'I can't be sure, but I believe you may have mentioned that the lich would be here in a couple days? It can not be allowed to take this settlement. The evil will be purged from this realm. I emplore you, help us?' Where did that voice come from?!?
Just then a small silent drow with blue hair and a signet of house the Teir'dal, dashes in, barely avoiding tripping over the Storms and approaches Fai'fasal with a slight bow and tired salute. "Sir, Black Team hasn't reported in for 12 hours and were last seen exiting the canyon. Gray Team remains unaccounted for. Delvers may be needed as soon as new ones can be found." Fai'fasal remains unphased by this information and simply remains hunched in his throne, staring. The younger drow blinks a bit with concern for his leader, approaches the map table, then places a black pin on it. He removes a gray pin and replaces it with a gray flag. Many large pins can be seen, several with flags and a couple colored ones clutter a small portion on the map. Red drow scribblings can be seen on it. [Want a closer look? :)]
The young drow looks pleadingly at the Storms, then back at his commander. He then walks up to Gareth. "Sir. Please forgive him. I'm Tormain, I'll take you to resting hut." He guides you outside into the daylight. He squints, putting on a visor to shade his eyes. "This way."
[Players turn. I'll post Friday, regardless of the number of player posts.]
Tericus Thursday August 19th, 2004 10:19:32 AM
Tericus will concentrate on his detect evil spell while pretending to look at the map. once he is done he'll leave with the others. while traveling to the resting hut he asks Tormain "What are your teams looking for?"
Addinein Thursday August 19th, 2004 6:56:31 PM
Concerned that the young drow wasn't corrected for acknowledging the Storm, Addinein approaches the map table long enough to try to read the scribblings and try to understand what may or may not be going on. Should any drow of these houses try to stop him from reading the map, he'll look frostily down his nose until he's allowed to view the map.
Upon hearing the female voice, Addinein's mental alarms start going off. He's surprised to find a female (of his race?!) imploring for anything, rather than demanding.
(ooc to confirm, the female voice spoke to the group?! The italics make it seem it was something other than spoken word.)
ADM JAY B, OOC: It may have been a telepathic voice, Fai'fasal didn't seem to respond to it. It was indeed directed at the Storms and the voice WASN'T drow! Perhaps human.
Onrad d20+16=32 d20+16=33 d20+3=23 Friday August 20th, 2004 12:08:10 AM
Onrad frowns. Something is definitely wrong here. It smells fishy.
He examines the map, but watches the girl and the male closely.
Search of 32 Spot of 33 Knowledge Nobility of 23
Jay B OOC: There is no girl, it was a voice. Just the female voice and the map attendant, Tormain.
Gareth Friday August 20th, 2004 6:20:36 AM
So many things...
The warrior nods to the younger drow and says "We'll rest later. For now we must understand what all is happening so we can help...". Turning to the troubled leader - but directing his question to the female voice he asks "What will happen if the lich takes this village?".
Omens (ADM Jay B) Friday August 20th, 2004 9:48:51 PM
Tormain stops as Gareth demands to stay until they get answers. The dark elf looks at Gareth with narrow eyes, "Our leader needs rest. He's not able to answer when he's like that."
Gareth issues his question to the voice, but recieves no answer. Fai'fasal remains sitting, now his eyes are focused on his feet as he leans forward in his throne.
Realizing that the man isn't going to back down until he gets answers, the drow ushers them to the map table and turns his back on Fai'fasal. He addresses Tericus and Gareth directly and quietly. "Our scouts are looking for other routes to our city, just here on the map..." He points to the cluster of colored flags surrounding a point on the map (a depth and mile mark can be deciphered easily). "...and every time we think we're getting somewhere, our teams in that area disappear. The canyon mouth is where you approached, yes? Well, that seems to be the only safe way in and out of the canyon.... well, until Black team. Black Team left a day ago on foot to scout and defend the chasm, they were to report every hour until their return. They reported a dozen or so times, then stopped." (Sense Motive DC 30)
The map shows the large entrance you used to enter the box canyon and a very narrow, sloped crevice in the opposite wall. "Our city's only known natural enterance is there in that narrow path. It leads on for miles and decends very deep into the earth, to our realms. Now it is well guarded by hoards of creatures not native to the depths or our cities."
The young drow looks at the Dragons. "You didn't pass any drow scouts when you entered the chasm, did you? Any sign before entering the canyon here?"
Responding to Gareth's question to the voice, the young elf says, "We are the only remaining members of either house. If the lichs are allowed to enter this settlement and set to their task..." He stops, knowing the next words to come are obvious. "...The Houses... our Houses... die."
[Feel free to post this weekend. Please!]
Gareth d20=13 Saturday August 21st, 2004 8:04:47 PM
The warrior takes in the drow's words. "Well then, we'll just have to prevent the village from being taken then... If you have here those who cannot fight perhaps we could move them away from here in case the battle goes poorly? We are truly here to help.". (Didn't sense motive)
jus Sunday August 22nd, 2004 7:08:07 PM
[OOC: Sorry, life overtook me this week]
Jus listens patiently, trying to understand what has happened to Fai'fasal. He sounds nothing like the drow they met before. Wondering if this indeed the man, Jus apologizes for the question, but asks Fai'fasal where and how he last met them.
Even if this is the same drow, possession of some sort is still possible.
Jandar Monday August 23rd, 2004 12:45:50 AM
Jandar says,"We saw noone. The fight IS coming. Morlas told us we wouldn't be in time to help you, but we are here. The attack could come at any time, and taking out your sentries would be the first step in a surprise attack. Are your defenses ready for such an attack? Since he's a lich, I'd guess that his army or forces at least, will be primarily undead. Do you have many priests here? And, if so, can you tell them to be prepared for such attacks with their spells? And one last thing I can think of off the top of my head, do you have any that need healing now? Your leader included. Tericus and myself can cast greater restration, if his mind is afflicted, perhaps we can cure what ails him."
Young General, Call him Custer... (ADM Jay B) Monday August 23rd, 2004 6:52:39 AM
[OOC: This is my last scheduled week of being your ADM. We still arent where we need to be.]
Tormain looks disappointed at Jandor's statement. "No one? You mean to say he's picking us off, a few at a time?!" The young elf, nothing more than a child in elven eyes, doesn't seem too versed in the ways of military action. He continues, "No, Fai'fasal is simply unsure and depressed... or so say our one cleric we DO have. Male drow don't tend toward the clergy... but we do have several arcanists among us. Of course there are the few we lost on the scouting patrols and the few we lost in our haste to leave the city. So, really, I guess there is just me and the triplets, that I know who cast any sort of spells. Oh yes, and the storyteller, I think he knows a few healing magics, but he's blind due to the exodus." This whole situation might be humorous if it wasn't for the dire straights these drow were in. The young Tormain, of the few drow you've met, might be the most stable of the bunch. "I can introduce you to the others now, if you like?"
Then he turns to Gareth. "Oh, yes sir, we can fight! We may not be knowledgable in the human ways, but we're good at what we do know. I know the warriors of the houses, I can lead them."
At this point, Fai'fasal stands and moves to the map table, simply staring at it. He makes no effort to answer anything directed at him. He mumbles to himself. "Utterly hopeless. Houses... females...all gone, and gone..." He begins weeping, muttering incoherantly.
Max speaks up, 'Oh boy, this guy is GONE! Just gone.' Quickly changing subject. 'Whose voice was that? She was alluring.'
The room begins getting darker. It's clear evening is approaching faster than expected. It might be 8 in the evening at this point. Time seems to pass quickly in the canyon. Just then, a rather lithe drow enters with a tray of food, his head facing the floor. Then another drow enters with a folding table and another with drinks. Tormain looks outside. He turns back into the room and begins eating off the trays, rather unceremoniously.
Tericus Monday August 23rd, 2004 9:54:38 AM
"How many more teams do you have? Or have they all dissapeared?" Tericus asks as he snacks on some of the food.
Addinein Monday August 23rd, 2004 10:27:12 AM
Looking down at the young one, Addinein wistfully remembers his youth prior to his house moving to the surface.
"We are going to have many questions for you and your teams. The question is whether you'll follow our advice, or follow our lead."
Pausing for a moment Addinein then adds almost in a whisper, "you do have THAT CHOICE."
Onrad Monday August 23rd, 2004 4:00:39 PM
"Remember the glory of those who have fallen. If we die, we'll do so together and do honor to all who will come after. If we live, Morlas is fallen, the females can be restored to life and a strong friendship between the Floating Kingdom and the Drow can be established by our actions here today."
Nonam Monday August 23rd, 2004 4:07:16 PM
Nonam scratches his head as he tries to put all the loose ends together. On meeting Fai'fasal a few days ago, there were certainly several female drow with him. Were they snatched only recently? Since the drow had a matriarchal society, why were the women taken first? They tended to be the most powerful, or were these drow different from those he had met before? And what had happened to Fai'fasal? He seemed so self possessed only a few days before. Nonam hardly knew the drow well, but this man seems only a shadow of the Fai'fasal he met before.
The mage stalks about and lets Gareth do the talking as he tries to figure things out on his own.
Back in town, shouldn't miss any more posts. -jk
Gareth Tuesday August 24th, 2004 6:02:51 AM
Not liking the situation at all the warrior looks to the young drow. "Call your scouting teams back immediately. Assemble your houses so we can look over our resources. Jandar, Tericus, do something for Fai'fasal...". He pasuses a moment and asks "Have you been visited by the Black Dragons lately? Where are they and your other ally - Lathiese? We must not tarry if we are to have chance at all to survive this.".
Jus Tuesday August 24th, 2004 9:20:32 AM
At the name of Lathiese, Jus bristles a bit, but otherwise lets it go. He, too, thinks it best to have their allies nearby.
"If the lich attacks here, it may be our only opportunity to attack his base and possibly find his soul," Jus mentions to Gareth.
"What do you think," Jus asks the lich-killer they found in the temple. He expects that's where the lady's voice came from, and is a bit pleased to hear it talk.
Word of Encouragement...(ADM Jay B) Wednesday August 25th, 2004 12:52:13 AM
Tormain answers Tericus. "Four. Yes, as of today, all are missing, with no signs. We had a brief encounter in the crevice three days ago. It wasn't a successful push forward. We lost several good fighters... the band was only six individuals though. We were planning a full seige, using all of the drow in this settlement. It was set for tomorrow, now your here."
"Of the scouts, none have returned.
We have not heard from Lathiese as of late.
The Black Dragons have said they have problems they are resolving and will be here in a week. We've heard nothing more from them. Their are, how do you say... enigmatic at best?"
Max remains silent.
The Lich-killer answers from her masters side, 'With the Storm now here, I feel that Morlas does not realize the power he faces.
Just a matter of formality, I'm known as Lisseth.'
Jandar Wednesday August 25th, 2004 2:22:34 AM
Jandar goes to Fai'fasal while the others are talking with Tormain. He casts 'heal' on him, which should wipe out his confusion and any other physical or emotional maladies he might have.
He says,"In the morning, I can create a meal that will help your people out, should a fight come. It only lasts twelve hours, but it will help them resist many spells from an enemy and it's also very tasty. Only seventeen people can eat it, so choose who you would have eat it....of course, I could memorize two such spells and get thirty four of us with it. Whatever you think. They are your people, and we'll make sure they know it is because of you that we are here and helping."
Addinein Wednesday August 25th, 2004 11:49:37 AM
Feeling pity for the young drow, and the position he's in. Addinein quiets down to let the others talk and deal with the situation. The young one appears to have confidence of his situation, and doesn't appear that he's nervous about much.
Once the sword introducers herself, Addinein marvels at having a sword introduce themselves.
Nonam Wednesday August 25th, 2004 1:24:01 PM
Nonam starts attempting to assess the situation, "How many mages are there? And what is the quality of their skill?"
Onrad Wednesday August 25th, 2004 8:38:41 PM
[rats. my last post evidently didn't take. :(]
Onrad seeing everyone else going into motion does so himself finding a niche to operate in.
"Find me two soldiers who know this location well. I want to talk over this map with them if they are willing. We need to discover what can be defended and what not."
Finally... answers... (ADM Jay B) Thursday August 26th, 2004 12:47:12 AM
"A good meal will be welcomed." Says Tormain. Jandar 'Heals' Fai'fasal, but its clear the man is slipping quite naturally. The drow seems to acknowledge you as the healing is occuring, however, mentally, he likely remains the same. Simply, depressed and withdrawn.
The likelyhood that Tormain is leading a scant few drow is high.
Tormain answers Nonam. "A handful of mages of minimal casting ability, compared to you Storms." He smiles and puffs up his chest slightly. "I, for one, can channel lightning." His expression flattens slightly. "The triplets have been trained further, one knows how to prepare 'dimension door'. We mostly have warriors."
"Two warriors. Sure, that know the area, that may be difficult. Hold on." The drow heads outside and returns about fifteen minutes later with two very stout drow and the now imfamous triplets. The hut is now rather crowded.
Three indentical drow in dark robes follow behind the two stout drow and Tormain. One is the spitting image of the other, they all carry themselves the same way and mannerisms are simular. Each has a scroll case and small leather bound book in their right hands. The three begin making gestures directed at each other. Tormain snickers and lowers his head.
The stouts carry weapons and wear elven chain. One has a whip and short sword and the other has a greataxe strapped to his back. Each carries a hand crossbow. Their boots are well worn and clothes are tattered by natural wear n' tear. Both bow to the Storms and acknowledge Addinein with respect.
Figment Thursday August 26th, 2004 6:20:28 AM
Seeing the scant group the warrior grimly asks Tormain. "Are there any of your families left in your true home? Are they captured or are they lost?". Acknowledging the sword, he asks "So Lisseth, what can you tell us of Morlas?".
ADM Jay B, Wow, Figment must really get around! He's in the Talons. He in the Storm Dragons! Sheesh ;)
Nonam Thursday August 26th, 2004 2:35:18 PM
Nonam mutters to himself and shakes his head. Something about being doomed by illusionists.
Finally he looks up at the triplets and gives a short bow. Speaking in undercommon, he asks, "What spheres of wizardy are you most familiar with? Tormain says you can cast the dimension door spell. I imagine that 3 such legends in the making as yourselves know some other things that are useful."
Onrad Thursday August 26th, 2004 4:03:05 PM
Onrad introduces himself to the two stout drow.
He bows slightly.
"I am Onrad."
He pauses for them to introduce themselves.
[oops class....more later I hope.]
Jus Thursday August 26th, 2004 8:27:01 PM
Jus listens, seeing this may go nowhere fast. As one of the others mentioned earlier, the Storms may have picked the wrong side of the fight.
Tericus Thursday August 26th, 2004 9:13:18 PM
Tericus goes over and stands by Jus. "This feels wrong to me." he whispers to Jus. "This is totally different from the vision I had."
Addinein Thursday August 26th, 2004 11:51:30 PM
Making sure that the woman's voice is not a figment of his imagination, Addinein answers the sword also, "I am called Addinein."
Nodding his head to the newly arrived drow, Addinein waits to see how and what is needed of him.
Final introductions... (ADM Jay B) Friday August 27th, 2004 4:22:31 AM
[OOC: This is likely my last post. Kent will take over as your permenant DM on Monday. He's picking up where I left off.]
One of the triplets speaks, "Seems that...."
Second of the triplets then continues, "...most were lost..."
Third finishes, "...however, we are unsure."
Tormain adds sadly, "Some families made it out of the city. Only the males."
Lisseth replies to Tericus. 'It seems this canyon has a natural anti-scrying effect. Our seers have determined that this effect twists the scrying, or skews it slightly. It is likely some sort of wild magic effect weaves through the walls of the canyon. Perhaps a rare alloy boosts the effect. We haven't had much time to study it. Of course I'm not often privy to updated information.'
'Of Morlas, I know only that he is a lich that intends to use anyone he can to further his vile goals.' Adds the sword.
Jus feels the 'cave' shake a bit, a rustling sound coming from the dragon.
The triplets heads turn to look at Nonam, their eyes piercing purple. One says, "All three of us..." Second says, "...are knowledgable in..." Third finishes, "...a broad variety of spells." They say simotaneously, "You are the only legends in this room."
The stouts can't take their eyes off Addinein.
Tormain finally introduces the drow in the room. "The triplets are collectively known as the Trio and they never seem to be apart. They have not told us their names, but it is known they are of House Teir'dal.
The warrior with the whip is Aexior, he's a tracker and knowledgable in geography. The one with the axe is Wyx, he is mute and deaf, his eyes are VERY sharp. Wyx and Aexior are best friends, Aexior is Wyx's voice. They both know the old hand language."
Fai'fasal just looks on at his crowded hut. "LEAVE! Go from me! I must think."
Tormain opens the hut door. The Trio leaves, Aexior and Wyx head out, and the Dragons remain in the hut. Tormain adds, "We must go." Fai'fasal yells, "LEAVE." Tormain waves them out. "Come..."
Nonam Friday August 27th, 2004 10:40:21 AM
Nonam looks at Fai'fasal, and mutters, "Perfect" as he leaves the hut.
Onrad Friday August 27th, 2004 1:35:55 PM
Onrad shrugs as he steps out.
"This cause is lost. The only thing now is to go after Morlas, which is what I thought we were doing anyway.
"Let's recruit what help we can find here, and move on."
Tericus Saturday August 28th, 2004 8:35:47 PM
"I agree with you Onrad though I think we should do it on our own." Tericus says to Onrad
Jus Sunday August 29th, 2004 10:59:37 AM
Jus thinks to Keiran, "What do you need, my friend?"
After talking with Keiran, Jus hands the portable cave over to Nonam to hold for a few minutes.
Jus then goes over to a more or less private spot and uses his ring to contact the Overlord. After apologizing for interrupting anything she's doing, Jus asks for a moment of her time -- in private on her side.
Jus then relays that since they were warned of possible betrayal to the Overlord from someone close to her, and that the Black Dragon Consortium, who should have been helping them now against Morlas, has gone missing, that she should be extra cautious in case they are involved in the betrayal and are making their move now.
"Things don't feel right out here. I know I don't have to tell you, but be careful," Jus adds at the last.
Addinein Monday August 30th, 2004 12:47:16 AM
Looking at the two stout, Addinein smiles at them.
"My sister and I had wanted to learn the old sign language. I wish these were better times ..." as the group is asked to leave, Addinein wisely stops talking, and follows the others lead out the door.
Once outside Addinein asks, "Should we not try to maybe gather and plan here in this natural non-scrying area. The scouting teams may have been picked off one by one, as they just waiting and watched for them to come out of this depression. "
Gareth Monday August 30th, 2004 6:48:50 AM
Knowing something of how swors can affect you, the warrior asks Max and the others "So you think that sword is messing with his mind? He doesn't seem the same...".
Onrad Monday August 30th, 2004 12:38:13 PM
"Tericus, I agree. I say we teleport these folk to the Floating city or send them in that direction under a flag of truce and head out. We can't do anything here."
Tormain Monday August 30th, 2004 6:03:45 PM
Turning to Gareth and the others as they leave the "throne room," Tormain speaks.
"I am sorry that you must see our two houses in such a bad state. In all there are about 70 of us here. Most are artisans of some sort but can wield some sort of weapon.
Most of our families were captured or killed outright. We do not of course know for sure what has befallen most of them. We did not find many bodies lying around when we sent a scout back to see what remained. He barely made it back to us that time.
At this point we now count about 15 trained fighters, two alcoytes who can do some healing, and myself and the triplets who cast magic. Of any real leadership, I am the remaining squad commander, and also command one of the units. Aexior and Wyx lead second unit. And Benric command the third.
We have enough bows and 10 arrows for eveyone in the camp, and a small stockpile of potions and scrolls. We have one mobile balista and a small catapult.
As you have seen our exterior defenses are not much more than densly piles shrubbery and thickets. They have however been saturated in flamable oil. There are three spiked pit traps along the primary access routes and we have had 400 fire hardened spears made that are stored around the compound. Our water source can not be tampered with from the outside except through magical means and we actually have enough dried food stores to last us nearly three months.
Of course that is only really helpful if we were besieged and considering where we are that is not likely."
The Trio Monday August 30th, 2004 6:25:08 PM
"We are specialist"...... says the first
"wizards in" ..... continues the second
"the field of".... adds the third
evocation." ... they finish off in unison.
"I focus on Ice,..."
"while I focus on Fire,..."
"and I focus on Other Forces."
in unison they all add, "... I am the strongest."
The conversation continues in this vein for a while as Nonan's head starts to spin as he turns to face each one as he speaks.
Ultimately Nonan pieces together enough from the convoluted combined conversation coming from the triplets, that he is pretty sure that none of them is actually capable of casting dimension door. In fact if he were pressed to guess, Nonam would likely place them as decent magicians (5th or possibly 6th level).
Aexior and Wyx Monday August 30th, 2004 6:27:27 PM
Through Wyx's signing and Aexior's translating, They introduce themselves to onrad and ask of what service they can be to such a reknowned human. The entire time they keep glancing over toward Addinien trying to see what he is doing and what he might be saying.
Max and Lisseth Monday August 30th, 2004 6:42:22 PM
Gareth asks his question of Max and gets a response he's not quite sure what to make of.
MAXI suppose it is possible, and it has been known to happen but I am pretty sure that is not the case here. But it is hard to say as I do not know this sword very well. Why wre you talking to that other sword anyway? You never wanted to talk to another one before now. Are you getting tired of me? Is that it? She really is not all that nice. I mean just because she can do something I can't you are geting all chummy with her?
Lisseth "Olath Velve!" I really do not like it when people interfere with what I am trying to do. I was just starting to be able to get through to him and you go and try to heal him. I can tell you what's wrong with him. But No, does anyone think to ask? Of course not. I am just a sword. What would I know about anything? Just like a human to think that can stick their noses in and fix everything. Fine I will just wait and see how this all turns out all by yourselves." And as for you, you left over piece of scrap iron. I am suprised that your owner even would consider keepng you, let alone wielding you. Not nice indeed. Shows you how much you know."
Addinein Monday August 30th, 2004 11:28:52 PM
Grimacing at the lack of reaction, Addinien comments, "I would think the bigger question is whether the others would want to go. With how much they've been defending here, they may not want to go."
(ooc just checking, the sword conversation are only being heard by one person?)
Jandar Tuesday August 31st, 2004 1:00:31 AM
Jandar simply watches the drow to learn about them, rather impatient for the coming attack, but not wanting to see a bunch of these dead.
Gareth Tuesday August 31st, 2004 6:07:59 AM
The warrior winces as the swords get into it thinking back to when his mother and aunt would argue and he would somehow end up bearing the brunt of it. Drawing on this experience he says "I must apologize to both of you it seems. First of all, I am just concerned for Fai'fasal so Lisseth, if you can help it would be greatly appreciated. He is an able fighter and will wield you well if we can help him snap out of whatever is bothering him.". He does not respond directly to Max until Lisseth answers.
Tericus Tuesday August 31st, 2004 7:08:38 AM
"Well, where to now?" Tericus asks Gareth with a bit of fustration in his voice. "We're not doing any good sitting here listening to swords argue."
Nonam Tuesday August 31st, 2004 10:10:01 AM
His mood growing worse with each passing moment, Nonam looks at the Trio, "So, let's say you were to face up against say a lich that could cast spells powerful enough to stop time itself, and he wanted to destroy your entire civilization. What would you do to stop him?"
Jandar Tuesday August 31st, 2004 2:14:53 PM
Jandar puts a hand on Nonam's shoulder and says,"Come now, my friend, I would be helpless with a time stop myself. This is what we have to work with. Maybe they should make attempt on any minions of the liches, while we handle the liches themselves."
Onrad Tuesday August 31st, 2004 2:58:18 PM
::humming::
"Bravely we stand. Bravely we do "Bravely we cannot decide what to do."
He speaks to Gareth.
"Let's have a huddle Gareth and decide what we as the Storms wanna do here. We're talking past each other and no one's listening to anyone else."
Onrad begins calling all the Storms over to him if they will come.
"So what do you guys think? I feel we're wasting time. We need to decide our strategies now and quickly."

Benric/Tormain - a scout returns Tuesday August 31st, 2004 6:27:16 PM
As Onrad calls his "Stormy" meeting There is a bit of a ruckus coming from one area of the camp. Moments later three drow warriors stumble up to Tormain. As they see the Storms and Tormain, they come to a sudden halt and snap to full attention, even though you can see it causes them great physical pain to do so. All three of them have obviously been in a major skirmish and are all profusely bleeding from a number of cuts, gashes and tears. The other obvious tell tale is that they each unknowingly still have bared and bloody swords in their hands at their sides.
"Unit Leader Benric reporting back from scouting sir." He looks a quick glance over at the Storms, as if to say, who are they?
Tormain makes a subtle signal and the three visibly relax and are no longer at attention, which is good as just moments later one of the soldiers collapses in a heap.
"Report Unit Leader Benric."
Atfer making a second subtle motion, two robed Drow make their way to the two wounded soldiers and start cleaning and bandaging their wounds. As they finish they cast very obvious healing magic on the two of them. As the wounds heal the two soldiers audibly sigh from the release of their pain.
Benric - Sir, we were on routine perimeter check and were carefully approaching the area last traversed by black squad when we saw Vorlain leaning against a tree. He looked wounded and we rushed to help, when suddenly he and the rest of black squad jumped out with bared blades and attacked us. Lerieth and Jarnval were cut down immediately and while we managed to draw our weapons and defend ourselves it was a close thing. They fought as if our weapons caused them no damage. Vorlain already had a gash in his side that I could stick my arm into and yet he fought as if he were well rested, fed and defending the Matron Mother. We managed to flee but were not able to recover Jarnval or Lerieth. We were not followed, though they already know where we are.
Tormain - As he hears this his visage visibly grows sad, horrified and then angry. And whenever Vorlain's name is mentioned a soft grunt can be noted. as Benric completes his report, his faces clears up a moment and again he seesm to be in more control.
" Thank you Benric, You have the gratitude of the House for your service. You are dismissed. Go get yourself healed and get what remains of your unit fed and rested."
The time of day is now approching mid day and there seems to be a bit more astir in the camp as food stores seem to be being broken into for a mid day meal.
Jandar 4d8(6+6+8+2)+18=40 Wednesday September 1st, 2004 12:32:54 AM
While the scout makes his report, Jandar doesn't wait and casts 'Mass Cure Critical' on the area around the guards, making sure to get them all in it.
Gareth Wednesday September 1st, 2004 6:08:00 AM
As the swords seem to have stopped their bickering, the warrior gets back into the conversation with the group. "Sorry, the swords were arguing. Lisseth claims to know what's wrong with her wielder but doesn't seem interested in talking. Sounds like what we saw in the visions. The drow are being converted to undead. We will see the 2 warriors again who were cut down. Sounds to me the best idea would be to get these people out of here and try to get by and get to the liches and fix the real problem.".
Jus Wednesday September 1st, 2004 9:35:51 AM
Jus starts inquiring where scouts have been lost and if there is any pattern showing a protected location.
The Storm's number one priority should be finding the Liche's souls and destroying them.
Keiran? Jus thinks. I thought you wanted something. You okay?
Nonam Wednesday September 1st, 2004 11:51:38 AM
Nonam shakes his head and mutters to himself, "It's not a worthless question. I can cast timestop and Morlas is more powerful than me."
Listening to the guard report, Nonam adds a single word to the discussion, "Vampires."
Tericus Wednesday September 1st, 2004 2:56:53 PM
"Thats what I thought too." Tericus tells Nonam."
Trio Wednesday September 1st, 2004 6:28:16 PM
As the Stroms meet together the trio all softly walk up behing Nonan and reach out and tap him on his shoulder.
S-t-tt-oo--p...
....T-t-t-i-me ...
....I-i-i-t-self?
HMMMM.....
...Perhaps a...
... time delayed...
...spell might...
...WORK.
And maybe....
...Something simple...
...That would ...
...LAST LONGER...
.... That wouldn't ....
.... Be expected ...
....Like cloudkill ...
... MIGHT WORK AS WELL.
They finish together and stand facing Nonan with goofy grins on their faces.
Lisseth/Max Wednesday September 1st, 2004 6:42:28 PM
Lisseth
Hmmpphh. Couldn't ask that first of course. What he needs is someone to command him. Someone he is bound by tradition to follow without question. What he needs is his or any Matron. What I was starting to do was insinuate my sunny female disposition into his head, so that he would accept me as that female leader. I don't know if that will work now.
Max
Oh, so you will address her now, but not me? Fine we will see how that goes won't we?
He goes silent while Lisseth comments and then quips back in at the end.
Sunny disposition? Ha
Aexior / Wyx Wednesday September 1st, 2004 6:51:06 PM
The two stout Drow ease their way over to Jus and Onrad and try their best to answer their questions.
"We have lost scouts primarily in two separate locations. Most have been lost near the ravine to the south of this canyon, and one scouting party was lost near a crevice/cave opening on the southeast side of this canyon.
The crevice opening is where Benric encountered Black Unit and where Black Unit was lost."
DM kent Wednesday September 1st, 2004 6:57:10 PM
Meal Preparations continue around you and soon smells of some sort of stew and bread can be smelled throughout the encampment. Tormain looks at you all and then shakes his head sadly for a moment.
" I am sorry, I am a poor host, You have traveled far to help and have used magic to aid us and here we have not offered you anything to eat or drink. It is not fancy fare, but will you do the honor of joining us at our mid day meal?"
I also offer you our lives and our swords for the restoration of our Houses' Honors.
Keiran Wednesday September 1st, 2004 7:13:57 PM
(OOC. Sorry John I am still trying to collect all the info I need to know about these NPC items and beasties, I wasn't trying to ignore you.)
Keiran
"Hmmph, I am fine, but I don't like it in here. I'm bored and want to do something fun? By the way are we there yet? Jus, Who is my mother? and why is it that whenever my father is mentioned there is more tension in the area. Don't you like my father?"

Addinein Thursday September 2nd, 2004 12:51:59 AM
(ooc you caught on that Addinein doesn't have Lisseth, that he's aware of?!)
Addinein decides that while the others are questioning those in attendence. That he'll take a quick look around the encampment and see how the condition of the camp is.
A worrying thought continues to plague him. The earlier thought that there is someone leading these families, and they don't know about it.
Gareth Thursday September 2nd, 2004 6:18:20 AM
The warrior grimaces at the "swordplay". After accepting the meal invitation he addresses Max. "My friend, you are and always will be my weapon. Instead of leaving you for another blade I have instead added to your powers - more than once. I could never want to leave you for any other. It's just that Lisseth knew something I needed to know. She has a weilder - as do you...".
Turning to Addinien he makes a bold request "Do you think your Matron Mother would be willing to allow 2 more houses to join them? Perhaps we could help Fai'Fasal by providing him and his clans a leader they could accept? These drow are clearly not evil just like your family. Seems getting them together would be a good thing. What do you think?".
Nonam Thursday September 2nd, 2004 8:53:00 AM
"Cloudkill won't work on the lich because... oh nevermind." The wizard throws up his hands in frustration and heads toward the food line. He's quite satisfied with a small cup of stew and a little water. He's careful not to take too much. He never eats a lot anyway.
Eating he tells Gareth, "I think we should visit these locations where the scouts disappeared. Probably at night. We need Fai'fasal to come with us just in case we have need of his sword."
Tericus Thursday September 2nd, 2004 10:26:17 AM
Tericus just goes over and gets some bread and cheese and quietly nibbles on them.
Jus d20=13 Thursday September 2nd, 2004 1:27:33 PM There are vampires and liches nearby, Jus says as he finds an open and isolated spot to let Keiran out. So you probably don't want to leave this immediate area unless you want to become a souless undead that only does what a liche tells you to do.
Jus opens the Portable Cave while thinking, Keiran, I'll tell you what I know about your mother and father, but listen to everything before you decide what to do with the information.
Jus gives a heavy sigh, unsure he wants to continue this conversation, but knowing it has to be done at some time. We don't know who your mother is. One person claimed it was she, but her motivations are suspect. She is a manipulator, intent on using whatever and whomever she can to further her goals. She was near us when we found your Portable Cave with you inside. She asked that she may have it, but otherwise made no complaint when we said no. Wouldn't a true mother fight to get her own child?
Jus lets those words sit, considering how to broach the more delicate topic of Keiran's father.
Your father is a powerful Black. Unfortunately, he was destroying a village near his lair and eating the people instead of common animals. We went to move the village to safety, and, perhaps unwisely, ended up in a battle with your father. Some of us died, and your father fled.
Jus hesitates again before continuing, wondering what Keiran is thinking. As he left, your father teleported his belongings from his cave elsewhere.... With real sadness, buttressed by the ache for his own family that he left so long ago, Jus thinks, But he left you behind and has not returned to get you.
A couple of tears roll down Jus' cheeks; a sign of weakness, but one he can't control [missed CON roll]. I had hoped to call you friend or even brother, but I know you may have a different heart than I.
His sadness turning into anger, Jus continues, But I can't stand the thought of someone, whether your father, mother, the lich, or anyone else controlling such a magnificent creature as the one you are. You should be raised with guidance, yes. And, yes, I would have hopes that you could use the power you have and will grow into to become a true Hero of the Wold. But you should be able choose the path you walk and the type of heart you wield.
Jus starts to say more, then decides it best to let Keiran alone. Placing a hand on Keiran's shoulder, Jus squeezes tightly while looking in the dragon's eyes. He then turns and walks back to the others.
Onrad Thursday September 2nd, 2004 3:09:40 PM
Onrad sees everyone leave his all important meeting and says, "Uh, meeting over."
He goes to get some food, but eats mainly his own stuff as he wonders if the drow or short or not.
He approaches Gareth. "Almighty leader, we should begin where the scouts are disappearing. Find the enemies there and get information from them to take us further. Meanwhile we should get these folk out of here and heading east to safety in the city."
"If we move soon, we might draw attacks to us instead of these refugees letting them get more of a head start."
Jandar Friday September 3rd, 2004 12:55:19 AM
Jandar goes along to the food line. When Nonam mentions needing Fai'fasal's sword, he says,"Oh thanks a lot. Like a sword can do to a lich or Vampire what Domi or Alemi can deliver. Puh-leeze! Swords, shmords. Show me some undead and I'll obliterate them without having to get your swords messy. Um, right Tericus?"
Gareth Friday September 3rd, 2004 6:16:55 AM
The warrior sighs at Onrad. "Yes, Onrad. We'll go check out the crevice. I thought perhaps these people might feel more at home with Addinien's family and it might be worth checking out first before encouraging them into any particular course of action.".
DM Kent Friday September 3rd, 2004 7:01:47 AM
The lunch goes along well and while quiet, there do not seem to be many glum looking faces. There are quite a few confused ones and you see an occassional look of concern, but over all the mood in the camp is apparently still upbeat. The stew is very good thought you can't place the meat used. The bread is hot and outstanding and the Meade is very tasty.
You do notice that Fai'fasal does not make an appearance at the meal and that Torian quietly takes a trencher and skin in ot his leader. You also not that he exits the building quite quickly and keeps his head away from you and faced down, and when he returns he makes a show of talking with the people and then seats himself a way from you.
Max gives Gareth a mollified "Hrrummpphh."
.....
DM Kent Friday September 3rd, 2004 8:22:35 AM
Keiran listens quietly and doesn't make a sound while Jus is making his explanations and even after is quite still and unmoving. It is almost as if he is not sure what to make of what he has just heard. As Jus squeezes his shoulder and walks back toward the camp, Keiran arches his neck and turns his head toward Jus as if to watch him and then sends a soft query into Jus' mind.
Aren't you trying to control me to? I can not get out of my cave without you letting me out? How can I choose my path if I do not get all the information I need in order to make it?
Tericus Friday September 3rd, 2004 10:05:26 AM
"Your right Jandar." Tericus says to the cleric. "Ive already destroyed his body once, along with a few of his vampire flunkys. It shouldnt be too much of a problem to do it again."
Onrad Friday September 3rd, 2004 4:33:01 PM
Onrad nods, "That's a good idea to involve Addenein's folk here. But let's get moving on it. I'd prefer to be heading out from here within the hour. Somehow I feel that to delay much longer would be very hazardous."
Gareth Saturday September 4th, 2004 4:57:32 AM
The warrior finishes his meal, thanks his hosts and beckons the group to leave. Seeing how the drow don't seem to care for going to the Float and Addinien doesn't feel his family should be contact, he sees no reason not to move on...
Jus Saturday September 4th, 2004 10:43:04 AM If I wanted to control you, I'd never tell you we fought your father, Jus sadly thinks as he walks back to the food. As for the cave, I have no idea why it was made where you couldn't open it yourself -- you'll have to ask your father that.
Jus joins the others and eats in silence.
[OOC: I'm on a business trip next week and may not be posting.]
Addinein Saturday September 4th, 2004 10:13:58 PM
"I wasn't saying that my family wouldn't help out these other families.
I see that those on the surface do this for others in time of need. But it's not that simple, when it comes to Drow and their families.
I was just suggesting that before we do anything, you should consult with those Drow that are here. To see what their attitude would be for this. That might see this more as an alliance type of arrangement, and they may not want to do that."
DM kent Monday September 6th, 2004 6:49:20 PM
While eating the meal with the drow, you suddenly hear a celebratory cheer and then more ruckus coming from the outskirts of the camp.
Moments later a half dozen young drow guards appear escorting a very attractive, and confident looking drow female in to the camp. At the sight of her half the remaining drow fall to their knees as they recognize their once captured and now apparently escaped Matron Mother. (spot check DC 20 to notice the well concealed scar tissue, clerics will notice the evilness, but can not tell if it is it due to the drow's nature or something else).
When she sees the Storms she stops and with what can only be descrided as a haughty and indignant attitude demands that the Storms leave immediately.
Tormain tries to speak up for them but has a difficult time trying to master the thought of facing down a Drow Matron. He does manage to stand between her and them and actually gets out the word, "but"..., when the Matron orders the young guards and any other "LOYAL" people to forcibly remove the Storms from camp.
Nonam Monday September 6th, 2004 9:30:18 PM
Nonam looks over at Gareth and mutters, "Next time, I side with the lich."
Despite the grumbling, he gets up from the table to leave in whatever direction seems to suit the matron.
Jandar d20+17=25 Tuesday September 7th, 2004 12:00:23 AM
Jandar scrutinizes the drow female carefully. He quietly casts 'Detect Undead' and centers it in her direction. (No damage, but no save nor spell resistance)
He remains quiet, and starts to rise as if he hasn't done anything.
Addinein d20=7 Tuesday September 7th, 2004 12:56:15 AM
Spot 7(character sheet not with me, but don't think I'm THAT expert! ;) )
Seeing Tormain in the cross fire, Addinein decides that he should maybe step in front of the coming firestorm.
"No disrespect Matron, but Tormain, how do you know beyond a shadow of a doubt, that this your matron?! Our common enemy has presented many different faces, and we not whom to trust. We she not be mad even worse, if you were to turn the family over to the first drow looking female that walked into camp?"
Jus Tuesday September 7th, 2004 7:43:37 AM
Jus is extremely surprised at Addinein's confrontation of the Matron. Perhaps Addinein has lost some of his drow's Matron deference. Then again, perhaps one drow family gives little respect to another drow family's Matrons.
Glad to be distracted from the situation with Keiran, Jus listens to the exchange. If Gareth says to leave, Jus will gladly do so; this drow camp seems to have died long ago.
Tericus d20+14=25 Tuesday September 7th, 2004 10:30:47 AM
(spot check of 25)seeing that Jandar was going to do what he was going to do, Tericus just waits for a moment to see what happens
Gareth d20=19 Tuesday September 7th, 2004 6:29:28 PM
The warrior looks over the Matron Mother and rises. Looking her over he sees the telltale scars (Spot 19+1=20). "My, what well concealed scars you have, Matron. Seems like they are just like the ones we've seen on other of Morlas' minions. We will leave - after you prove you are not one of them or are destroyed. And we will leve if your former house hasn't the will to stand up for themselves.". The warrior stands ready - clearly not one to be trifled with and giving no indication of a willingness to move just yet.
DM kent Tuesday September 7th, 2004 9:27:59 PM
Gareth confirma what Jandar has found out through his spell that the Matron is indeed one of the undead and appears to be a fairly powerful one at that.
At Gareth's pronouncement She litterally snarls at him and issues a command to the drow of her former family and any others. "Remove or destroy these interlopers."
Many of the drow seem a bit confused and unsure of what to do but start drawing or finding their weapons, but from the two sides of the compound 8 drow, four from each side charge towards you with broadswords at the ready.
Jandar d20+2=21 2d6(3+4)+20=27 Wednesday September 8th, 2004 1:15:45 AM
Upon seeing the drow for what she really is, Jandar ignores those she commanded. He snatches out his holy symbol of Domi, holds it out in front of him and bellows, quite uncharacteristically loud,"Your master has no hold here! No one here will obey a creature of undeath sent by Morlas in any guise! In the name of Domi, begone from this Wold for good!" (turned up to a 21 hd undead, if it's less than 11 hd, it's destroyed, if 11-21 it's turned and takes 27 points of damage, if over 21, well, we have a big fight coming)
Gareth Wednesday September 8th, 2004 6:08:01 AM
Hearing the pronouncement of Jandar, the warrior closes the gap between himself and the Matron, drawing his sword in the process. He yells to the drow "Morlas is killing your families and turning them into undead. Your Matron Mother has been defiled as will you if you don't stand and fight!".
Nonam Wednesday September 8th, 2004 10:14:45 AM
Irritated that he wasn't the one to recognize the undead, Nonam casts a globe of invulnerability around himself... just in case.
Tericus d20+12=31 10d6(3+4+1+2+2+5+1+2+6+4)=30 10d8(7+6+1+3+5+4+6+7+1+3)=43 Wednesday September 8th, 2004 10:19:54 AM
reacting quickly to the undead Matron, Tericus whispers "I will burn you." then a beam of bright light shoots from his hand(cast searing light, ranged touch attack of 31, 30 pts of damage or 43 pts of damage if its vunerable to sunlight, like a wight or a vampire, no save)
Addinein Wednesday September 8th, 2004 4:04:50 PM Woldian Below
We are here by Fai'fasal's request. Would you also go against his wishes?"
Shaking his head, Addinein continues, "Follow this one's (pointing at the current Matron) commands at your peril, for there is no doubt in my mind that she is not who you think she is."
Addinein tries desperately to think of something that will convince these fools from throwing their lives away against the Storms.
Onrad [AC 58] Wednesday September 8th, 2004 8:19:32 PM
Onrad growls. Tumbling forward he stands beside Gareth.
"Gareth, I got your back from the others. If we can take her out without killing her, she can be saved to lead her people again."
He hopes his words let the drow know they mean their matron no harm and intend to save her from herself.
Onrad goes into Total Defense mode yet again and stands prepared to move and intercept all attacks on Gareth that he can bring to himself.
