The Hammer Falls. (DM Jim) Thursday September 16th, 2004 8:40:24 PM
Zeoll comes racing back into the house that the group is staying in with some bad news. The two words that strike terror into any characters heart...Cursed Items.
It seems that some cursed stuff was found among the treasure but not detected in the identifing process.
Torros d20=3 Thursday September 16th, 2004 10:57:35 PM
Toros listens Zeoll very carefully, and he looks like he gets what the experienced Wemic tells, but in fact he is not able to understand much, except that it is something important.
He will also enjoy to experience the mimicing of Zeoll's longer 'r's. So he can learn more about it later, as well.
"Currsed items!! What a pity! OK, I go and return my pile, but I have used up half of my wand alrready!!"
Of course this is a joke, and Toros tells "it is joke", soon after watching the sudden arise of confusion and surprise in Zeoll's face. Then he runs and brings back his pile and gives it to him. "Herre it is, it is all here."
Brahmah Thursday September 16th, 2004 11:56:11 PM
"Well, I will return the bow to the pile until we get this resolved. We all should do the same, so no one taur gets more or less than another."
Gecktar Friday September 17th, 2004 2:30:14 AM
Gecktar is looking for an answer in the Catacombs. He also has a ring of feather fall and it may be cursed...
Flat-top Friday September 17th, 2004 8:17:07 AM
Flat-top enter behind Brahmah and Zeoll and He's not happy, actuly you can see steam comming out of his ears.
All the pets and companions run for either safty or cover. Flat-top goes to the table and drops his dream weapon on the pile of items, turn to Zeoll "Do you know how long I waited to replace the old Morning star that Domi first gave me, now this happens. I swear if that Morningstar is curse, I'll go back and kill that Red Dragon all over again!!"
Flat-tops goes off and broods.
Kale Friday September 17th, 2004 9:41:04 AM
"This is a bunch of bull!" Kale says angerly as he dumps his stuff back into the pile.
Zeoll Friday September 17th, 2004 10:51:25 AM
The liontaur sighs.
"Well, frriends, let's get started again."
He makes four piles on a table.
CASH -- 4,659 gp
NOT CURSED -- ring of protection +1 ... 2,000 gp -- pearl of power - 1st ... 1,000 gp -- cloak of comfort ... 1,000 gp -- eagle's splendor potion ... 300 gp
CURSED -- "ring of feather fall" -- "composite longbow +2"
UNKNOWN -- neutralize poison potion ... 750 gp -- neutralize poison potion ... 750 gp -- neutralize poison potion ... 750 gp -- eagle's splendor potion ... 300 gp -- cat's grace potion ... 300 gp -- cat's grace potion ... 300 gp -- blur potion ... 300 gp -- blur potion ... 300 gp -- blur potion ... 300 gp -- charm person potion ... 50 gp -- warp wood scroll - 3rd ... 125 gp -- fire trap scroll - 3rd ... 125 gp -- euphoria scroll - 3rd ... 125 gp -- disguise self scroll - 3rd ... 75 gp -- hornet's nest scroll - 2nd ... 50 gp -- obscuring mist scroll - 1st ... 25 gp -- hide armor+1 ... 1,210 gp -- hide armor+1 ... 1,210 gp -- hide armor+1 ... 1,210 gp -- heavy steel shield+1 ... 1,190 gp -- morningstar+2 ... 8,316 gp -- club+1 ... 2,300 gp -- wand: fox's cunning ... 4500 gp -- gauntlets of ogre power ... 4,000 gp -- ring of feather fall ... 2,200 gp -- ring of protection +1 ... 2,000 gp -- ring of protection +1 ... 2,000 gp -- amulet of natural armor+1 ... 2,000 gp -- cloak of comfort ... 1,000 gp -- gray bag of tricks ... 900 gp
Zeoll says, "Now my job is to go to the Catacombs and find out what is currsed and what is not." He leaves.
Brahmah Friday September 17th, 2004 4:23:50 PM
Brahmah just nods in agreement with his friends anger. It's very upsetting, but not the end of the world, after all, they did have a good idea where the Gold's treasure was. No, no, not the Golds gold! Gees. Be good Brahmah!
Zeoll Friday September 17th, 2004 4:38:20 PM
The liontaur returns looking very disheartened.
He brings back all the loot and puts it on the table.
"My frriends," he says, "The Catacombs has this to say ..." He speaks, using a bard's natural ability to remember and recite:
'If you think therre may be currsed items in this lot, I don't think we can take any of it. Unless you get them cerrtified. The cost will prrobably be just as much as Identification. 110 gp per item."
"My frriends, we have thrree choices. One, divide up the items among ourrselves without the currse analysis. Two, pay forr the currse analysis. Thrree, pass out all items to use, but count them all as parrty items. Afterr using them in a rreal fight, we can divide up whateverr turrns out to be uncurrsed."
"I like option thrree best."
Flat-top Friday September 17th, 2004 6:51:51 PM
Flat-top who is leaning against a tree Still Steeping mad (more disapointed) He thinks "Give up a dream of a morningstar, because it might be curse? ot Take a chance that the weapon is not curse??" Flat-top look into hid money pouch, seeing that there's not enough money to pay to find out.
So he yells to Zeoll "I also choose option Three!"
After making his choice, he realise that a real mother would not give armor or weapons that will hurt them, She would make sure that the items were safe for her little ones."
Brahmah Saturday September 18th, 2004 1:03:04 AM
After listening to Zeoll, Brahmah states his issues. "I hate curses. I think we should pay the price for decursing the loot."
Solgrin Saturday September 18th, 2004 4:59:44 PM
"Cursed! I am terribly sorry for not detecting that they are cursed. I am currently not powerfull enough to cast spells that might tell me if an item is cursed. I will start working on a spell to help with this. It may take me along time but eventually I will come up with one." Solgrin says.
Kale Sunday September 19th, 2004 10:41:57 AM
"I like the first option." Kale says. "It doesnt do us any good to use an item and find out that its cursed."
Leets Sunday September 19th, 2004 2:23:28 PM
"I agree with Kale, we really don't need cursed items. I can feel some of them are really...evil, and I don't want anybody to use them..."
Kanchana Sunday September 19th, 2004 4:14:22 PM
Kanchana is not too happy about wasting even more time on the treasure stuff, but majority rules... neither is she too happy about wasting even more time in this blight of a city. "I do have a suggestion however, and that is that the non-fighter spellcasters be given first rights to any magical protection since we typically cannot wear any conventional armor."
Brahmah Sunday September 19th, 2004 8:33:01 PM
"Kanchana, you can wear hide though, right?" Brahmah looks confused, as usual.
Toros Monday September 20th, 2004 12:52:24 AM
"We can choose option three or one to split the treasure. Regarding this, please let me ask a question. About wands, like the fux's cunning, don't we already consider them as group items, same as the healing wands?"
OOC: There is no one among us who has "illusion" spell, is that right? Thus if Toros takes this spell, it will be of some help to the group....
Gecktar Monday September 20th, 2004 1:09:20 PM
"I think we don't need cursed items... They could upset the balance at a time we are in danger" says Gecktar "The first solution is the best I think."
Zeoll Monday September 20th, 2004 2:12:38 PM
Zeoll tells the new centaur not to worry. "Solgrrin, it is not yourr fault. But can you rremove a currse orr currsed item afterr the currse is triggerred?"
"Anyway," he says, continuing, "I'm not surre I was clearr. Let's go overr this."
"Option One: Divide items with NO currse analysis. If you get a currsed item, bad luck for you."
"Gecktarr, Kale, and Leets said they like this option. Torros likes it too."
"Option Two: Pay for the currse detection and then divide the loot."
Brahmah likes this option."
"Option Thrree: Use the items as parrty trreasurre to figurre out which arre currsed, then divide them up laterr."
"Zeoll and Flat-top like this option. Torros likes it too."
"Did everrybody speak corrrectly?"
"Kanchana says give the spell casterrs who can't wearr armorr the protection items, but everrybody wearrs arrmorr, so who does she mean?"
Zeoll looks pensive for a minute as he remembers the mages who once journeyed with the Chosen ... especially Ceira and Kenisha ... but no more.
Kanchana Monday September 20th, 2004 3:38:44 PM
"Zeoll, it means that those who can wear conventional armor should stick with conventional armor - for the mean time anyway. Spellcasters can typically not wear any armor other than magical armor. I can and do wear light armor, but that leaves Solgrin with no protection at all."
Kanchana looks less than pleased and with some hesitation continues her speech,
"also my experience with our 'warrior types' is that they normally do not protect the less armored members - instead they frequently opt to charge head first into any fights they can find; with no regards for how that might effect those who have no armor."
"Not everyone wears armor Zeoll, you need to look more closely."
Kanchana states her request once more; apperently being the only one to think of other peoples' safety.
"Hence I ask that the magical protection items be reserved for the spellcasters first and foremost. The only reason I ask that I be given one is because Solgrin has been excluded; it seems, from any share in this treasure - and I therefore intend to give it to him as a gift, in the hope that he might be at least somewhat better protected in the future."
With a frown Kanchana finishes with,
"And Zeoll it is interesting that you come scurrying back complaining about cursed items - presuming that you happen to have gotten one earlier in the split - and now after whinging and moaning you say that if you get a cursed item then bad luck for you. That was exceptionally two-faced and low of you."
Kanchana feels no real desire to be charitable about having to waste so much time on this treasure business; especially since personal gain and bad fortune for one seems to be the cause of all this.
((Kanchana still travels with the Chosen Cayzle, I assume that you meant Kenisha.))
((Toros where is the illusion spell found (page numbers and book please), I could not find it anywhere. Incedentally Identify would be far more useful all in all, since only Solgrin can cast it now, and if he dies or something then no one can cast Identify any more. Just making a suggestion.))
Cazyle OOC Monday September 20th, 2004 3:59:06 PM
Sorry! I edited my post to say Kenisha! My bad!
And -- ouch! -- Zeoll didn't say he wanted to divide the items and bad luck to you if you get a cursed one! He just presented that as an option (Option One). He favors using and trying the items as a party to find out which are cursed, then dividing the non-cursed ones (Option Three).
:-)
Solgrin and Rozca Monday September 20th, 2004 4:33:28 PM
Rozca watches Zeoll's and Kanchana'a conversation, when Solgrin's name is mentioned her eyes start to watch more carefully.
Solgrin listens to what the chosen discuss about the items, when Kanchana states that she is thinking of giving him something from the treasure he says "it would be an honor to recieve a gift from one of the chosen." smiling at Kanchana.
Eunice OOC Monday September 20th, 2004 6:42:16 PM
((As I hope you are aware Cayzle that none of it is personal of course, but I just had to bring in the very realistic elements of "misinterpretation", "selective hearing" and "biased" (???? not sure if that is the word that I really want to use there!) personal (that is Kanchana's view; not necessarily my own) p.o.v. Nevermind her being decidedly grumpy because we have to use even more time on this treasure farce and thus stay in the city even longer.))
A Gentle Rapping. (DM Jim) Monday September 20th, 2004 7:23:59 PM
From the outside of the house that the Chosen are staying in comes a gentle tapping, as if someone rapping on the outside door. It persists for several minutes before it stops and then starts up again.
When the door is answered you at first do not see anything or anyone, then you look down. Standing in the doorway is a gnome with the most outrageous clothing you have ever seen. He is a mix of colors that clash and would make a normal person sick within a few minutes of staring at them. Though his boots are of coal black the silver spurs tinkle as he shifts his weight from foot to foot. His hat is rather large, the brim much too big for someone of his stature, and just as gaudy as the rest of his outfit. The large pink feather plume that sweeps back off the side of it almost touches the ground as he stands patiently waiting. A large carpetbag lays next to him, actually it is the same height as he is and must weigh at least twice his weight.
[Fun time is upon us. :)]
Zeoll Monday September 20th, 2004 7:32:26 PM
Zeoll, happy to take a break from the treasure foofoorah, leaves all the loot and goes to answer the door. He looks down at the strange figure.
"Hello, good sirr."
The crocodile waddles up next to Zeoll and grins. Zeoll uses a forepaw to shove him back into the house.
"Pay my pet no mind. What can I do forr you?"
[OOC: Eunice, no, of course, no offense taken!]
Brahmah Monday September 20th, 2004 10:03:02 PM
"These curses are doing two things. One, causing us to bicker and divide. And two, allowing us to ling in this small city. I want this dealt with, soon." He says in a 'official' capacity.
When the gnome shows up, Brahmah can't say a thing without laughing. He turns his away so he doesn't insult the man, as he smirks. "Greetings."
Gecktar Tuesday September 21st, 2004 4:12:41 AM
Gecktar realizes that Solgrim is not included in the sharing of the loot. When Gecktar join the chosen they give him a part of their treasure even if he didn't participated to collect it.
"I agree with Kanchana, to give Solgrim something of the loot. I don't know what kind of item will be more useful for you Solgrim... And I think we must search for curse on item before dividing the loot, or even sell every thing and share the money after that."
Leets Tuesday September 21st, 2004 7:55:29 AM
Leets hears Gecktar, and adds:
"...Or everybody could offer something to Solgrin, as a welcome present..."
When he see the gnome, Leets smiles widely and says:
"For sure this one doesn't come from the forest!"
Flat-top Tuesday September 21st, 2004 10:20:20 AM
Flat-top with a hurt feeling on his face, look to Kanchana with pain on his face, "Kitten! Don't you remember when the mothers, our babies and you were on the raft, I was the one standing in frount of all of you and taking the hits from those arrows. Slowly dying away??"
Thank goodness there was a knock on the door to witch Zeoll open that door and there low and behold was a wonder of wonder A Gnome. Flat-top mouth drops to his chest and all that come out of his mouth is "Snicker! Snicker!".
Kanchana Tuesday September 21st, 2004 1:00:08 PM
Kanchana gives Flat-top a very brief puzzled look before remembering the incedent he mentioned. She winces inwardly at Flat-top's hurt expression.
She gives her favorite Centaur a big hug by way of apology.
"I am sorry dearie. I was trying to make a general point, and I am angry about this whole dividing mess."
Then the gentle rapping on the door... for some reason Kanchana expects a largish bird to be standing there, she has no clue why.
She stops giving Flat-top a hug, turns to face the door and immediately spots the carpet-bag, and then the tiny two-legger standing next to it.
[to the gnome] "Whatever you are peddling we don't want it."
Kanchana remembers the "miracle cure" peddlers from her earlier travels.
Brahmah Tuesday September 21st, 2004 4:26:48 PM
Still fending off the laughter, Brahmah turns to Kanchana and Flat-top. "You two! We have a visitor." He still holds the laughter, looking away from the gnome. "Sir, I'm sorry, how can we help you?" Directed at the gnome. "Kanchana, don't be RUDE. He might be a messenger of Domi!!" Brahmah now has a serious and hurt look on his face.
Flat-top Tuesday September 21st, 2004 6:31:02 PM
Flat-top tells Zeoll "Err! Snicker! Err! Zeoll you bettr let Croc outside, I think he has to go. Unless you going to pick up his mess??"
To Kanchana he tells her, "we better stop giggling! because Brahmah will start laughing, then he'll really be mad at us."
Solgrin Tuesday September 21st, 2004 6:48:54 PM
Solgrin nods to the other chosen as they say his name in acknowledgement.
Solgrin goes over to the door asking the gnome "welcome to the home of Master Randrac. How can we help you?"
A Lack of Funds. (DM Jim) Tuesday September 21st, 2004 7:42:17 PM
The little gnome takes in the apparent held laughter from most of those that are inside the door and shakes his head. It is with a bit of concentration that he returns to the business at hand. "Selling...selling??" He cannot help but wonder why this lovely female would think him selling something. With a bit of a flourish he pulls out a small rolled up parchment and hands it to Solgrin with a wide knowing smile. "My name is Jeremiah Eridiaus Remediua Kerdizam the III...head of the Exotic and Cursed Item Disposal Unit at your service." He cuts another deep bow to all those before him as he looks inside the house, maybe wanting in. The parchment is actaully his calling card with his name, the business he works for, the times he is available and what they look for.
With a short time for all of this to sink in he taps the bag lightly and laughs. "Through the grapevine, I have it that you maybe in need of my help." It is more a statement of fact than a question about thier need. The carpetbag seems to shake as if laughing at the little gnomes last statement.
Toros Tuesday September 21st, 2004 7:43:55 PM
Toros feels like stupid, when he realizes his own wording mistake.
"Sorry Kanchana. What I meant by Illusion was the "silent image" spell (OOC: p.279 in player's book, v3.5). I am thinking to use it with "ghost sound". And I can choose one more spell like "identify" or "magic mouth". It is a good suggestion of yours to choose identify. But the problem is that my spell power is not very strong and I can use identify only once per day. Do you think would this be still practically of some help?"
Brahmah Tuesday September 21st, 2004 11:36:18 PM
Brahmah stands up, serious now and able to control the laughter. Looking at the gnome. "Well Jerry, your a sight for sore eyes. This bow is cursed certainly." He hands the gnome the huge bow. "Other items haven't been determined yet."
Kale Wednesday September 22nd, 2004 12:20:51 AM
Kale, being silent the entire time, takes one look at the small creature and says "Its pretty convienent that you showed up when you did. Too convienent if you ask me. Why are you really here?" then, he adds as an afterthought, "Your also uglier than any human ive seen."
Gecktar Wednesday September 22nd, 2004 2:48:36 AM
... Jeremiah Eridiaus Remediua Kerdizam the III...head of the Exotic and Cursed Item Disposal Unit... What a strange visit card...
Gecktar looks at Kale as his words are denied of all diplomacy... "Kale, please... If we could have some suspicions about the coming of master Jeremiah,..." and he adds in a whisper so only Kale can hear "and I share your opinion..." he then continue "we must keep polite and diplomatic. We are guest in a home and all we do can affect the reputation of our host."
"But master Jeremiah, please enter. Would you like a cup of tea ? So you could tell us exactly what you're looking for... Oh ! What happen to your bag, it seems.... laughing"
Zeoll Wednesday September 22nd, 2004 5:07:13 AM
To Flat-top, Zeoll says, "No worrries, old frriend! Crroc is well trrained and does not make messes in the house!"
At the gnome's words, Zeoll is amazed. In Tauric, he says softly, "Well, this two-leggerr city may be ugly and crramped, but they do seem to have everry amenity!"
In common he says to the gnome, "Well, sirr, yourr talking frruit vine is most cerrtainly corrrect! Please, welcome, and step rright this way!"
If no one objects (and Zeoll glances at Kale), he leads the flashy gnome to the table on which are arrayed all the items.
"We also know that this so-called "featherr fall" rring is currsed, but not how. The rrest we don't know."
Flat-top Wednesday September 22nd, 2004 11:36:18 AM
Flat-top advances toward the little Fellow, but first jumping over the Croc "Sorry! Croc." Goes to the table and pick up the Morningstar asking him "Can you tell me if this weapon is curse and what kind of curse it is??"
Paw'caw(ceil) Wednesday September 22nd, 2004 11:39:02 AM
The golden eagle is out side the window Looking in!.
Managram(ceil) Wednesday September 22nd, 2004 11:40:43 AM
Managram is under the table with both paws over his mouth.
Rozca(ceil) Wednesday September 22nd, 2004 11:44:36 AM
Rozca make his way to the top of Solgrin's head to see the little fellow. "ssstee! ssshee! Hesss sssmaller than I am."
Elder(ceil) Wednesday September 22nd, 2004 11:47:30 AM
Elder leves the home pouch and jump down to the floor, runs to the big bag. He wonders if there is anything sparkley or any food in the Bag??.
Making a Difference. (DM Jim) Wednesday September 22nd, 2004 8:51:45 PM
The little gnome takes in all the questions and comments with an easy stride, that is till Kale speaks up. The little gnome turns to the taur and shoots him a look. "You maybe the ugliest thing that I have seen as well but I keep my opinions to myself or my mouth shut...depending on the need." He smiles back at the rest and walks into the house with the invitation extended. He moves towards the table and takes a few minutes as the carpetbag waddles into the room as well. He takes a seat upon the bag and lightly runs a finger down the back of Elder as he slips a nut into the little guys hands. "Tea would be very nice."
He turns his attention back to the rest of the group and not to the treasure spread out on the table. "As to why I am here...those are my reason." He waves a hand to take in the couple of cursed items that lay upon the table. Laying his pointer finger upon his nose he laughs gently. "I have a nose for these things and I figured that you would rather be rid of them." He taps the end of the bag lightly and it opens, from which he pulls out a small bag. Opening it he spreads out some platinum coins upon the table for all to see. "This is what I offer in exchange and by all means check them out for validity." He lays the pouch on the table next to the coins as he waits for the group to give leave and his tea.
He looks back as one of the group comes over and picks up a morningstar that is gently handed to him. "Lets just say that I can for a small fee...but lets wait and look over all the goods and get out the cursed ones." He smiles again as he tries to layout his plans and make it simple as can be. "Then I will name a price for the items, then you can agree or disagree with the price as you wish. I will take my small fee before I name the price so that it is exactly what you will get." With another eye to the cautious taur, Kale, he shakes his head again. "You can of course check my finding with the same means that I do...that way there is no call of cheating." He then leans back and waits.
Zeoll d20+20=33 Wednesday September 22nd, 2004 9:36:13 PM
The liontaur tries to smooth over the ruffled feelings. "We'rre grrateful you've shown up, good Jerremiah. I am surre we will be glad to use yourr serrvice. It may not be economical, depending on yourr prrice, to analyze the scrrolls and potions. But the otherr items, surrely." [Diplomacy check 33.]
"Come, Kale, give the fellow a chance to speak his piece."
Zeoll adds to the gnome, "Please go on."
Brahmah Thursday September 23rd, 2004 12:20:38 AM
The leader is just happy to FINALLY be getting these cursed items dealt with. He takes whatever is offered for the bow, fully aware that the item is still counted as group stuff. He's anxious to be done with it all.
Toros Thursday September 23rd, 2004 1:54:32 AM
The new visitor finally attracts the attention of Toros, as he hears his surprising talk, and starts to follow what is going to happen next without saying a word yet.
Leets Thursday September 23rd, 2004 3:03:57 AM
Leets plays with Managarm, who seems to be bored under the table. He pays attention to the newly arrived guest, but not too much...
Solgrin and Rozca d20+11=30 d20+10=29 Thursday September 23rd, 2004 4:00:08 AM
"I hope that you are comfortable with the chair, Randrac only has a couple of human-sized chairs."
"If you don't mind I would like to observe you as you check over the items."
When he is looking over the items Solgrin will watch and see what he is doing to identify which of the items is cursed. (spellcraft 30, knowledge arcane 29)
Kanchana Thursday September 23rd, 2004 4:01:17 AM
Kanchana comes over to the guest then says "Please, ave a look at everything and let us know what is cursed."
Kale Thursday September 23rd, 2004 7:02:49 AM
"It takes a thief to know a thief, so we'll find out if you are one or not." Kale says to the gnome as he stand right above the short fellow and observes every movement of the gnome's hands. "You can start now."
Brahmah Thursday September 23rd, 2004 7:38:11 AM
Hearing Kale insult the gnome again, Brahmah lets out a loud sigh and a glance Kale's way. "We appreciate his help, don't we Kale?!"
Flat-top Thursday September 23rd, 2004 8:56:57 AM
Flat-top goes to Kale, "Come with me to get some TEA! Friend! because the kitches will give us cookies to go wit this Alfafa tea. And I'll will need some help, my balance is not that good, I'll break something."
As Flat-top starts for the kitchen he ask Solgrin "Where's the kitchen?"
Gecktar Thursday September 23rd, 2004 12:18:55 PM
Gecktar sit around the table and watch the strange gnome with a benevolent look.
Doubting Kale. (DM Jim) Thursday September 23rd, 2004 8:59:04 PM
The little gnome takes in all the activity with some interest. Kale's comments grate hard on his nerves and he thinks about walking out and leaving them holding the bag, so to speak. "This one is rather rude...not much to my liking but..." He turns his eyes to the female wemic in the group and sighs as he looks her over.
He then tears himself away to turn and hand a jewelers lense to Solgrin. "Fit that over your eye and look over the stuff...tell me what you see." He smiles as he looks at the apprehensive taur and nods. "Compare it to what you see of your own magical stuff." He silently waits and sips his tea that has finally been delivered. "You will see what I mean."
[While most of the stuff and your own gives off a faint bluish aura, much like when you identify it as magical...some of it does not. The bow, morningstar, two rings and the gauntlets have a black wispy aura coming off of them.]
Brahmah Friday September 24th, 2004 2:20:35 AM
"What do you see Solgrin? Huh."
Torros Friday September 24th, 2004 3:53:30 AM
"Yes Sorgrin, what do you see"....
Toros is still trying to practice and learn the name of his new comrrade.
Solgrin and Rozca Friday September 24th, 2004 4:08:55 AM
"Rozca lead Flat-top to the kitchen please."
with that Rozca flies off of Solgrins head and waits for Flat-top to follow her.
"I think I see what you mean. My items have a blueish aura and these others have a faint black aura coming from them." points at the bow, morningstar, gauntlets, and two rings. "No wonder I did not spot it it is so faint you have a hard time seeing it."
Brahmah Friday September 24th, 2004 6:22:13 AM
"Jerry, your a life saver!" He pats the gnome on the shoulder, gently, careful not to break the little man in half.
Flat-top Friday September 24th, 2004 9:27:40 AM
Flat-top is not suprize at Kale, the centaur knows his deep problems. So Flat-top bring bask the tea and scons(sweet cakes)from the kitchen.
Flat-top ask Solgrin, "Is the Morningstar cursed??"
Gecktar Friday September 24th, 2004 11:41:01 AM
"Well it seems most of our prized item are cursed... Thank you Jeremiah for your help."
Zeoll d20+9=26 d20+10=12 Friday September 24th, 2004 6:20:04 PM
The liontaur shakes his head at the news. "Yes, all the best items seem to be tainted."
Then he shakes off the dour mood. "Well, we have much to be grrateful forr, anyway! Rrememberr, Childrren of Domi, that He values courrage and a positive attitude morre than wealth! We have ourr lives, ourr childrren arre safe, and we have many things that arre not currsed!"
Smiling at Jeremiah, he adds, "And we have this gentlegnome to thank, and in spades! Without you, my frriend, we would be farr worrse off. many thanks to you! Please let us compensate you forr yourr analysis! And did you say that these items might be of value to you?"
Looking at the other Taurs, and catching Leet's eye, Zeoll adds, "I'm surre a good-hearrted gnome such as yourrself deserrves a rrewarrd forr yourr serrvice to us. Did you say that you might be willing to buy these items?"
With his emphasis in tone, Zeoll tries to pass a secret message [and his Bluff check of 26 succeeds] -- he hopes that Leets will detect evil on this gnome, since that's a sure way to tell if he is not trustworthy.
"Oh, look, herre is the tea. Wherre arre ourr mannerrs, Childrren of Domi? Please, Jerremiah, sit and talk with us over tea."
Zeoll hopes to engage the gnome in conversation. What is his business? Who does he work for? What are his interests? Is he a resident of this city? has he ever been to the Taur isles? Does he know how to get there from here? meanwhile, Zeoll will tell a little about the group as well.
[OOC: Zeoll is both being polite and trying to make a Sense Motive Check with this gnome -- but he only rolls a 12.]
Kale Friday September 24th, 2004 9:15:02 PM
Kale ignores everyone and concentrates on watching the gnomes hands, making sure that he doesnt grab anything he shouldnt
Time to Talk of Things. (DM Jim) Saturday September 25th, 2004 10:23:38 PM
Jeremaih sits and sips his tea while waiting and watching as the items are looked at. He neither touches nor even moves to touch anything. With a smile he nods as Solgrin talks of what he sees. "Yes...an identify spell would not tell this but on rare occassions." He looks to Zeoll as he speaks to him of his business and other things.
The gnome is happy to talk about himself, it seems to be one of his favorite subjects. "My business is actually not located anywhere as I take it with me as I travel." He pats the carpetbag that he is seated on like a chair and the bag seems to purr in contentment. "I had actaully been in town buying a few other magically cursed items at the time when I caught on to your groups little need for my help. Traveling gives me the chance to see all kinds of things and meet new people like yourselves." He looks to Kanchana and sighs again as he studies her. With the question of how to leave the city he shakes his head and yawns. "I have no idea how to get out of here actaully, that is left up to my gude really...still I will not be leaving here for about a month. There is a lady here that has a cursed mirror that she is looking to get rid of, but she is holding out for more money." His face lights up as he remembers a little side trip that he took to the Taur Islands. "I was once in the Taur Islands...the centaur part aquiring a cursed item from the clergy I do believe, but that was some time ago. I hear that things have turned worse there lately thought...something I hope that you can make a change to." He seems genuine in his talks and all, not holding back on anything and answering truthfully.
Returning to the business at hand for a few seconds to let the group talk over things as he drinks his tea. Looking over the few items that lay on the table that are cursed he gently picks up one of the rings and brings it to his large nose, sniffing it a few times. "Most definitely cursed...a ring of clumsiness." He licks the rings a couple of times, puckering his mouth as if having tasted something sour. "Most definitely." He lays the ring back down as he looks to the other items. "Want to know the curse as well?" He is willing it seems to let you know the curse if you want. "For you to think about...how about 5000 gold for the items as a lot??"
Brahmah Sunday September 26th, 2004 1:24:18 AM
"Jerry, I used to be a sailor. On our ship, we never dumped garbage overboard in fear of being followed or tracked. We had a bag like that on board, it was a called a Sack of Devouring, an animal of sorts. Is that one of those?" He askes pointing to the purring bag.
Then the leader of the Chosen looks at Kale and Zeoll, both know of these things. "What do you think? 5000 seem good?"
Zeoll Sunday September 26th, 2004 8:06:10 AM
Zeoll says out loud that he thinks 5,000 gold pieces is very fair, and the group should be pleased with the deal.
But internally, Zeoll is in turmoil. If the gnome intends to sell these items as what they *appear* to be rather than what they are, Zeoll thinks to himself, then he will be able to con unwitting customers for about 25,000 gold pieces. Spending 5,000 to make 25,000 is a sweet deal indeed for a flashy little gnome. On the other hand, if the gnome does not intend to rip anyone off, then why oh why are these items worth even 5,000 to him?
"Eh, why bother," Zeoll thinks to himself. "If tiny two-leggers want to rip each other off, what does it matter to me? Our true cause -- to unify the Taurs -- would be better advanced by our acceptance of the 5,000 gold, and taking his deal would get this mess off our hands."
But the liontaur's conscience cannot let the matter simply rest. Smiling, Zeoll says to the gnome, "But if we may ask, why arre these currsed items worrth that much to you?"
Kale Monday September 27th, 2004 7:15:08 AM
not seeing the gnome do anything suspicous, Kale says "5000 sounds about right. But I have to ask," Kale says to the gnome, "Why would you buy cursed items? They are not of use to anyone."
Flat-top Monday September 27th, 2004 7:41:22 AM
Flat-top who was standing next to a window, also ask "why is a cursed morningstar, ring and armor mean anthing to you?" Flat-top look a little sad.
Gecktar Monday September 27th, 2004 1:16:24 PM
"5000 is fine for me. I never hope such amont."
The Hows and the Whys. (DM Jim) Monday September 27th, 2004 8:08:02 PM
Jeremiah glances to the group and shakes his head in understanding. "Quite right...quite right." He lays out some more money on the table in the form of 500 platinum, though he would have expected a little haggling. He sighs as he thinks about it but it does not seem to be his day.
Turning back to things at hand he speaks. "I was comissioned by one of the heads of Domi to pick up cursed items where I could find them." With another smile he cannot help but laugh a little. "Seems that Domi is a little upset with faulty smithing skills." He takes a last sip of his tea and lays the empty cup on the table as he waits to see what else will happen.
Brahmah Monday September 27th, 2004 10:56:42 PM
Brahmah looks at the coin. "Would you let us look at the coin with your magic monocal Jerry? Understand, I trust you.... but you can't be too safe." He takes a look at the coin through the magic eyepiece. (IF the coin is cursed, Brahmah will beat the gnome into paste, if their not cursed, Brahmah thanks the gnome.)
Toros Monday September 27th, 2004 11:26:36 PM
"Yes this is a good idea Brahmah" smiles and nods Toros, supporting his friend's attempt to check whether the coins are also cursed or not.
Kale Tuesday September 28th, 2004 6:59:35 AM
Kale stays silent and watches the transaction intently
Zeoll d20+10=16 Tuesday September 28th, 2004 9:53:16 AM
Zeoll tries to get a feel for the gnome's honesty -- [sense movire 16] -- and tends to believe him.
"Come, my frriends, do not be so suspicious. Cerrtainly this gnome is brrave to stand up to the interrrogations of us Taurrs, and brraverry is the hallmarrk of a follower of Tomi!"
"I trrust this fellow. Let us accept his offerr and wish him well!"
In his head, Zeoll begins to figure out how the treasure can be redivided fairly.
Brahmah Tuesday September 28th, 2004 10:45:21 AM
"Zeoll, I'm not ready to trust just anyone under the sun. Remember High Priest Raakis? That wasn't something I want to repeat, but will if I have to." He looks grimly serious.
Flat-top Tuesday September 28th, 2004 11:46:04 AM
"Your right! Captain, I don't trust any one who deals with the high priest of Domi right now! This little Gnome goes back and tell the all hight and mighties as to where we are, and you know what happens next?? They send assassins again." Flat-top goes back to his window, "We have to get away from here, So our babies can live." he now speaks more to himself than to the others.
Gecktar Tuesday September 28th, 2004 3:42:44 PM
"I agree with you in that we must leave the city Flat-top. But I trust this little gnome. Don't ask me why. Maybe Domi make it so."
and then turning to Kanchana "And I feel I'm not the only one willing to get out this town..."
"Let us share the loot on the way..."
Gecktar then turn to Solgrim : "Do you know how to leave this city. We take a one way gate, so I think there should be another gater that will lead us out of the city"
Kanchana Tuesday September 28th, 2004 5:03:13 PM
Looking at Brahmah, Kanchana says "I would love to get out of the city and back to the wilds again. Lets get the gear taken care of quickly so that we can leave."
Solgrin and Rozca Tuesday September 28th, 2004 5:15:32 PM
"I have heard rumors that there is a portal but I do not know if it is real." Solgrin tells Gecktar.
Rozca flies over to the table with all the treasure then curls up on some of the items and begins to take a nap.
The Gnome Collector. (DM Jim) Tuesday September 28th, 2004 8:59:07 PM
The gnome waves his hand at Solgrin who still has the jewelers lense and nods his head. "By all means, check out all the coins." He shakes his head in understanding as it is always a good idea to be careful. "You can never be too careful and it does not offend me at all." He holds out his cup to anyone nearby and smiles. "Maybe a little more of that fabulous tea??"
[You find nothing wrong with the coins as far as cursing goes. If you want to appraise them as a lot, just make an appraise check DC 14.]
Leets Wednesday September 29th, 2004 4:42:50 AM
Leets looks a little bit disapointed...
"Brahmah...I was hoping we could deal with the local clergy of Domi, being so far from the islands..."
Flat-top Wednesday September 29th, 2004 10:10:29 AM
Flat-top looks to Kanchana, asking her "Kitten would you give the little man so of the master's tea? It does smell good!.
Flat-top gors back to looking out the window, "Oh! How I would love to be at sea again, or running in an open field. Sigh!"
Zeoll d20+20=23 Wednesday September 29th, 2004 2:57:04 PM
Zeoll is confused, and says to Brahmah in Tauric, "What? I know that the centaurr and minotaurr leaderrs turrned against us, but what about the prriests of Domi? Even the centaurr drruids that werre frriendly with us?"
Zeoll shakes his head in disbelief. "But let's talk about that when we do not have a guest."
In the common tongue, Zeoll says to the flashy gnome, "Thank you again forr all you have done. I hope you will not think us ungrrateful." [Diplomacy check 23]
After the tea is done, Zeoll accepts the payment and sees the gnome out.
==========
Then he checks over all the remaining goods and divides them into nine piles. "Herre we go again, frriends. Please choose yourr trreasurre pile."

Kanchana Wednesday September 29th, 2004 3:23:00 PM
Kanchana smiles at Flat-top while saying "would you like some tea as well?" then heads off to make some more tea.
After a few moments Kanchana comes back in carrying a large tea kettle and pours some more tea in the cup for the guest then finally pours some for herself and Flat-top.
Kanchana gathers up the items in pile number 8 then settles down to look over everything.
Brahmah Wednesday September 29th, 2004 4:57:27 PM
(OOC: Cayzle, can you give us a figure without figuring in the wand please.)
Brahmah takes pile #9.
Brahmah looks at Zeoll, and in tauric says, "Everyone was looking for us friend. Someone has a price on us and everyone was looking."
Then he looks to Leets, "I'd like us all to head to the temple here, if there is one."
Brahmah askes for a cup of tea as well. "Jerry, you've been a life saver."
Cayzle OOC Wednesday September 29th, 2004 6:32:24 PM
The market price of the wand is 4500; the Catacombs would give us 4050 for it. That's (4050/9) 450 gp each. So if we want to keep the wand as a party item, for example, everybody subtract 450 gp from each pile.
Personally, I would much rather have the 450 gp each.
A Good Goodbye. (DM Jim) Wednesday September 29th, 2004 7:22:57 PM
Jerry smiles to the group as he takes only the cursed items and slips them into the carpet bag. "As I said...caution is a good quality to have." After a few minutes the carpetbag burps loudly and the gnome shakes his head. "Please excuse him...he has no manners." He stands slowly as he drinks the last of his new cup of tea.
As he makes his way to the door he turns to the group and seems to be pondering something. When he speaks it is in Tauric. "You will find a temple in town that will most likely help you out if need be...though how I do not know. Be aware that it is a human run temple to Domi and not a taur one." He makes to turn and leave with the carpetbag waddling behind him but stops, speaking again in Tauric. "Keep up with your task...there are those that support what you do and your whereabouts will not be told by me...on my honor and Domi's." He then slips out the door with the carpetbag following along like a pet.
[Will look for character sheets by Wednesday of next week. Will move on into the next module as soon as I can.]
Zeoll Wednesday September 29th, 2004 7:33:32 PM
Zeoll wonders at the gnome's words, and they feel right to him. Then he says to everybody, "My eyes did not see the loss of ourr Keep. They did not see false prriests of Domi betrray us. So maybe I have not closed these eyes as tight shut as some of us who have seen these things."
"Because my eyes did not see those sad events, maybe I trrust the leaping of my hearrt morre."
"Anyway, we must rrememberr that we have been Chosen by Domi ... and Domi does not forrget."
"My hearrt tells me that this gnome was sent by Domi, and we should trrust his worrds. We need to find this human temple of Domi."
[OOC: What does the group say about the wand? Sell it or keep it as party treasure? I say sell.]
Toros Wednesday September 29th, 2004 10:18:35 PM
OOC: I will be away for 3-4 days. See you when I come back. Thus am afraid I might be late for the character sheet, but will try to send it as soon as possible.
Kale Thursday September 30th, 2004 12:39:01 AM
OOC-sell the wand
Kale watches the gnome leave then looks at the piles of loot. he eagerly waits his turn, rubbing his hands together in anticipation
Leets Thursday September 30th, 2004 3:21:04 AM
"Gecktar and me found a temple before we gathered here, we couldn't spend much time at the holy place, but I would be glad to go back there..."
"What do you think Gecktar?"
Brahmah Thursday September 30th, 2004 4:06:12 AM
"Nice fellow."
He gathers up his pile of loot and prepares to pack it away. He tries on the cloak of comfort. "A little itchy."
Gecktar Thursday September 30th, 2004 4:41:10 AM
"I would be glad too, my friend, going to the holy place of Domi." anwsers Gecktar to Leets. "I need some meditating time to gather my stength once again to face the threat we are going to encounter."
(OOC - sell the wand, fox cunning is of no help to anyone unless I mistake...)
Solgrin OOC Thursday September 30th, 2004 7:25:14 AM
sell the wand
Flat-top Thursday September 30th, 2004 7:46:28 AM
Flat-top watches the little Jerry waddle off and his Carpet bag behind him. A smile crosses is face, he tells Zeoll "Yes! we had to leave to save our children, But Someday we'll go home again, Yes! Sir! we'll all go home again!"
Flat-top heads for Pile#4, Picking it up, and starts counting his gold, put away the potion and tries on the cloak. He Models for the group, asking "Well! what do you think! Nice??"
OOC: Sell the wands.
Zeoll Thursday September 30th, 2004 10:46:28 AM
Zeoll chooses Pile number 6.
He agrees that the next thing to do is to visit the Temple that Jerry the Gnome mentioned. He also thinks the group needs to figure out where they are and how to get home.
"But firrst, we need a Plan! What do we want to do next, frriends? Our long terrm goal, I think, is to rreturrn home, rretake Hearrthold Keep, and fight to make the Taurr Isles one."
"But we arre herre in this strrange city, led herre by Domi, maybe. Perrhaps He had some rreason to brring us herre. Maybe we will find help herre that we did not expect to find."
"Do I underrstand that we have the Hearrt of Domi hidden with us? Maybe if we brring it to the temple the gnome mentioned, brring it forrth, and prray forr guidance, then Domi will smile on us and give us a sign."
Loot Pile Five: ring of protection +1: 2,000 neutralize poison potion: 750 gold: 1,492 Total value: 4,242
Loot Pile Seven: ring of protection +1: 2,000 eagle's splendor potion: 300 charm person potion: 50 gold: 1,892 Total value: 4,242
Another Temple another Day. (DM Jim) Thursday September 30th, 2004 11:58:00 PM
It is decided by most of the group to go to the temple that Leets and Gecktar had visited earlier in the week. Leets and Gecktar lead the group, at least those that want to go, to the temple's front doors and then inside. You are met by a young human acolyte that bows to you and speaks lowly. "May Domi be of assistance to you travelers." He seems rather frightened of the lot of you but somehow keeps his voice from breaking.
Brahmah Friday October 1st, 2004 3:49:33 AM
The minotaur pats the man on top of his head and grins from ear to ear. "Don't worry friend, we all revere Domi like you. I stopped eating humans years ago." Then the Chosen leader laughs deeply. "Thank you."
Flat-top Friday October 1st, 2004 7:58:51 AM
Flat-top supresses a jiggle, when he heard Brahmah's comment. But to Kanchana, he ask "Do you have Domi's Heart?"(hopefully She'll say yes) He enters wearing his new cloak, and it is tied around his waist??(more like a horse blanket than a human cloak)He trots pass(the young Acolyte)with his Morningstar around his neck and tells him "Do not worry! We Centaurs are vegetarians, But look out for those Liontaurs and Weimics, They're meat eaters!"
Kale Friday October 1st, 2004 10:20:48 AM
Kale chooses pile #7. then, while gathering up his gold, Kale sees the little boy come it. Kale goes up to Kachanga and whispers "Its hard to imagine that Domi lets someone so ugly worship them."
Zeoll d20+20=34 Friday October 1st, 2004 10:34:53 AM
Zeoll laughs and reassures the young fellow. "Ha ha! Let me rreassurre you, young fellow!"
The liontaur tells the lad that the Taurs are here to honor Domi and pray, nothing more. "Let me tell you, good lad, that we arre herre to prray and honorr Domi, and that's it."
[Diplomacy check 34 to calm the boy down.]
[Zeoll has left his pet crocodile at home in Solgrin's house].
Zeoll enters the Temple with his friends and looks around.
Solgrin and Rozca Friday October 1st, 2004 11:12:51 AM
Rozca spots Solgrin getting ready to leave the house and flies over and lands on his shoulder. Once Rozca has settled she starts to chatter at Solgrin with the sound like he was going to leave with out her.
Solgrin scratches Rozca under the chin as he walks to the temple of Domi with the other Chosen then smiles to the boy at the temple.
A Show of Courage. (DM Jim) Sunday October 3rd, 2004 4:28:36 PM
The young boy does take a very visible swallow and turns a little paler than before. Still he is able to keep his voice from cracking or his knees from shaking. "This way." He leads the group to a room big enough for all of them to fit in comfortably.
The room is lit with a few torches that give it a spiritual feel. There are several cushions on the floor for sitting on and a simple altar against the one wall. The young boy makes his way around the room to light four braziers of incense, that lightly fills the room. It is not a heavy odor but strong enough to invoke feelings of relaxation and well being. He stops at the doorway as he goes to leave. "Anything else Domi may do for you?"
Brahmah Monday October 4th, 2004 2:33:39 AM
Brahmah waits with the others, patiently.
Flat-top Monday October 4th, 2004 6:50:53 AM
Flat-top kicks a few cushions aside, then stands faceing the altar. After Kanchana has put the heart of Domi on the alter (for consentration) Flat-top bows his head and put his hands together, will stand there to pray and try to receive any thoughs that Domi might send his way.
Gecktar Monday October 4th, 2004 10:16:33 AM
Gecktar looks at Leets and wait for him to choose a pile from the loot. Because there is two similar piles he chooses one (pile #2) thinking about the marvelous things he will be able to buy with that.
At Flat-top's demand he draws Domi's Heart from his backpack and put it on the altar.
Zeoll Monday October 4th, 2004 10:47:37 AM
Zeoll sits down in this holy place and concentrates. He tries to relax and focus both inward and outwards. His tongue moves and he sings in a soft voice. brravely, meek, and strrongly, humble ask we, Domi, though we'rre weak, and hoping forr yourr, wisdom, Tomi, though we stumble, though we falterr, may you guide us, even chide us, please, dearr Imod, herre beside us.
Solgrin Monday October 4th, 2004 4:06:26 PM
Solgrin finds a place to stay out of the way while waiting with the rest of the Chosen.
Kanchana Monday October 4th, 2004 4:07:41 PM
Kanchana pats her sack then tells Flat-top "I still have it safe and sound." Kanchana then finds a place to wait.
Kale Monday October 4th, 2004 8:48:23 PM
Kale finds a confortable place against the wall and leans against it.
A Sending? (DM Jim) Monday October 4th, 2004 9:33:19 PM
The young boy has left and the group makes themselves comfortable as they see fit. Minutes pass and then it stretches into tens of minutes, but still nothing.
Suddenly the calm in interrupted by the appearance of a man of about fifty. His head is clean-shaven and he is wearing the robes of a master. He stands in the doorway looking over the group with a look of quiet contemplation. He says nothing but nods once to the group in a gesture of friendship and acknowledgement.
Gecktar Tuesday October 5th, 2004 2:46:22 AM
When Gecktar sees the priest he stand up and bows slightly before him. "Thank you master, to take some of your time for us. As you see us we are the Chosen of Domi, Chosen among the Taur race of course. My name is Gecktar Cadeqa and I am a priest of the Mighty Domi." "We come in this city for our quest and now we don't know how to leave this place."
"Maybe could you give us some help, so we can go on with our quest."
Brahmah Tuesday October 5th, 2004 3:02:42 AM
Not really the deeply religious type, Brahmah lets the clergy of the group speak. Though devout to the Father, Brahmah sees power in nature and fate as well... and seems fate has led them to Domi again.
"I'm Brahmah, Captain of the Chosen. Well met sir." He says simply, in introduction.
Leets Tuesday October 5th, 2004 3:32:52 AM
Leets chose Pile #1 before leaving for the temple.
The Centaur paladin is glad to enter the holy place once more, and even more to talk a little with the priest they couldn't meet before.
"As for myself, I'm Leets Talric of the Talric tribe, holy servant and paladin of our the allmighty father of the Taurs, Domi."
"To tell the truth, I think many of us feel lost in such a urban place. Moreover, as it was wisely said by my brother-in-faith Gecktar, we have a quest to fulfill, and need to leave this city..."
Toros Tuesday October 5th, 2004 6:25:25 AM
Toros takes the pile #5 and places the ring on his finger. It will take some time to feel comfortable about it.
Flat-top Tuesday October 5th, 2004 9:23:07 AM
Flat-top smiles at Kanchana, "Please make sure that we take the Heart back with us when we leave. The heart inspires us so much, also it keep us focus."
Flat-top advances to the human Cleric, "Nice to meet you, I'm called Flat-top, the youngest of my heard. A Royal Marine before Domi called. Nice Temple you have here."
Zeoll d20+10=27 Tuesday October 5th, 2004 10:57:16 AM
Zeoll looks at the human and wonders if this person has been sent by Tomi. He listens carefully to whatever he says, if he speaks.
[Sense Motive check, if possible, is 27.]
Kale Tuesday October 5th, 2004 2:34:33 PM
seeing that the man didnt introduce himself, Kale sees no reason to do the same, so he just stays where he is for the moment
The Language of Sign. (DM Jim) Tuesday October 5th, 2004 11:06:20 PM
The older man steps into the room and nods again to each of you as he raises his hands. He begins to sign in a rather fast set of gestures. It is soon evident that the priest is a mute and unable to communicate through speech.
Though you have received no signs from Domi that you know of it is still good to relax in the presence of Domi, through his temple.
Solgrin and Rozca Wednesday October 6th, 2004 3:23:29 AM
Solgrin gathers up pile #3.
Seeing that the priest is mute Solgrin asks "do you have a sand board that you use to communicate with the others here in the temple?"
Solgrin asks Rozca quietly "Rozca please aid me with communicating with the priest."
Rozca telepathicly asks the priest "would you like me to communicate with Solgrin and the others for you?"
Gecktar Wednesday October 6th, 2004 4:59:12 AM
Gecktar looks around distraught by the fact he don't understand the priest.
The idea of Solgrim seems good, and to accelerate the process, Gecktar hand a parchement and a pen to the priest.
(OOC1 : the price of my pile loot was false as a large hide armor +1 is worth 1330 and not 1210. So there is 120 gp to divide among 9 piles, that is 13.3 gp. So Gecktar gives to each of you 13.3 gp)
(OOC2 : Gecktar was in charge of the Heart of Domi post of february the 16th)
Flat-top Wednesday October 6th, 2004 11:00:14 AM
Flat-top look at the Mute Priest, "HuH? What the matter with him? Is he trying to tell us to get out of here??" He look to Solgrin.
Brahmah Wednesday October 6th, 2004 3:48:58 PM
"Hold on hold on!!" Brahmah waves his hands frantically at the man. "Slow down. We don't understand."
Zeoll d20+10=20 Wednesday October 6th, 2004 4:20:24 PM
Zeoll continues to watch the man closely, tryng to judge him by intuition, facial expressions and body language.
[Yesterday's Sense Motive Check: 27. Today's: 20.]
Kale Wednesday October 6th, 2004 9:29:22 PM
"Great." Kale mutters to himself. "An advisor that cant talk. Whats next, a painter that cant see?"
Toros Wednesday October 6th, 2004 10:07:20 PM
Toros hears the comment of Kale and could not stop but smile at himself.
The Priest. (DM Jim) Wednesday October 6th, 2004 11:14:40 PM
The priest smiles at the small dragon as he nods to it. "That would be most helpful young one of Domi." He listens to what the group has to say as he thinks over his answers to give through the dragon.
Zeoll gets the impression that the older man is not here to hurt them in anyway. He is also most definitely not against them as he does not have the mannerisms of someone that is there to see if they really are The Chosen and turn them in.
The priest then nods again to the dragon. "My name is Father Yurt and I once was a hammer of Domi much like your group. I was born without the power of speech but still became a priest." A shadow passes over his face as he speaks of his injury. "I hear that you are on a sacred mission and wanted to see you with my own eyes. It has been long since I have seen those that battle in Domi's name." He smiles to the group as he speaks mentally with the dragon. "I will help anyway that I can...if I can."
His eyes turn to take in Kale with a scornful look as his hands fly into a series of rapid gestures. The sudden flood of emotion seeming to come off the priest is tangible to everyone. The dragon catches bits and pieces of some rather colorful language that even makes him turn a shade of red. His eyes narrow as he mentally speaks to the dragon once more. "My ability to talk maybe no more but I can hear a lot better than most." The priest seems on the verge of leaving as he looks to the door.
Brahmah Thursday October 7th, 2004 1:32:56 AM
Brahmah listens to the man and ignores Kale's rudeness.
"You were an adventurer? That's great. Please Mr Yurt, continue. I was curious. How much contact do you have with other clergy in outlying areas, such as Isles or mountain communities?"
Flat-top Thursday October 7th, 2004 9:37:46 AM
Flat-top watches as the Priest of Domi talks with his hands, the centaur is starting to get an idea of what the priest is telling Kale.
So Flat-top will go to Kanchana and put his hand over her eyes so she cannot see all those dirty jesters as the priest is telling off the Minotaur Thief. "Don't look, Kitten, Just don't look!" All the time watching closly at the mute's jesters. (this is going to come in handy when He want to swear in frount of his dear Kanchana.)
Kanchana Thursday October 7th, 2004 4:40:03 PM
Kanchana smiles at the motions of the priest. Looking at Flat-top Kanchana quietly says "thank you for trying to protect me from seeing that but there was no real need as I probably have had some of those same thoughts a few times."
Kanchan continues to listen to what is said.
Solgrin and Rozca Thursday October 7th, 2004 4:43:38 PM
Solgrin face turns abit red from the emotions that Rozca imparts to him from the priest.
Rozca tries to calm herself down from the sudden outpouring of emotions from the priest. Rozca tightens in closer to Solgrins neck.
Zeoll Thursday October 7th, 2004 7:34:40 PM
"I trrust this prriest," says Zeoll, "and we should trreat him with rrespect."
He bows to the cleric and reaches out to offer a hand in friendship.
"Can we ask him forr guidance? Tell him that we want to be open to Domi's will. We would like to leave this city and go home, but even morre than that we want to serrve the purrposes of the god of courrage."
Kale Thursday October 7th, 2004 9:44:57 PM
"I was just making an observation." Kale says to the small dragon. "Im impressed, though. I havnt been cursed out like that in a long time." then, to save the group any more trouble, Kale exit the door they entered from and wait in the foyer
Brahmah Thursday October 7th, 2004 9:51:27 PM
After Kale leaves for the foyer, Brahmah turns to the group. "Would somebody go watch him? Please?"
OOC: Sam, I couldn't resist this post. ;) Sorry if it offends in any way.
A Reigning in of Emotions. (DM Jim) Thursday October 7th, 2004 11:23:26 PM
The priest settles himself out some with the ending of his tirade. Though he is still a little perterbed he does shake his head and then turn to the dragon. "Please forgive my outburst...relay my apolgies as I should not have gone off like that." He gives Kale an apologizing nod as he exits the room but is not sure if he has hurt the taurs feelings. It is just that it has been a long time since he felt his usefullness has been questioned.
The priest takes Zeoll's hand in his own and then pats it with the other one. His face turns a little red as he looks to Kancana with a look of horror. "Please let the lady know that I take back all I said...I meant no offense." With a look of complete horror he looks down as he silently berates himself. Only the dragon can hear his mental plea to Domi for forgiveness.
Controlling his will to laugh he turns to regard the dragon again. "Let them know that I can not only read lips but also hear what they say...so be free to talk to me or at me at least." With a look of exhaustion he lets go of the hand and gently settles himself onto a cushion in the room. He breathes in deeply letting the incense mellow him out and calm his spirit. "I have contact with many of the outside churches and also know that The Chosen are hunted by the churches of their kind. Do not fear that here as we can see the greater good in what you are trying to do...peace will come though at a cost. In many ways I do not envy you your task, but...I also wish that I could go with you." You notice a sudden longing to be back in the life that he had...adventuring and having fun. He looks to the walls of the temple and sighs heavily. "Long have I been inside these walls and long will I remain in them I fear." He lapses into silence, waiting to see what questions you would pose to him.
[Sam - No offense with my posts to Kale. It is purely a roleplay thing only. I like the fact that you have a character that can rub people the wrong way and is a little suspicious. Gives me new things to work with. :)]
Brahmah Friday October 8th, 2004 1:34:45 AM
"Hammer Yurt, I understand that your might be able to guide us away from the Float... to a safer area?" Brahmah waits for the answer. Then continues.
"Our... precious packages have been left at the new orphanage. I assume you've heard or seen that?" He implies about the children. He gives a mental picture of the four taurs left at the orphanage to the dragon. "See them?" He askes. "Four gorgeous packages. Two exceptional gifts from Domi."
"I'm glad to hear the clergy here isn't out to prosecute us." He smiles. "We're tired of being hunted... and would hate to be exiled from here. We wouldn't have any other place to go."
Gecktar Friday October 8th, 2004 5:08:36 AM
"Do you know why the church of our kind is blind to what we are doing ?"
"Isn't it Marteus and his minions that are maneuvring here ?"
"Do you know any information that will help us to make them realize they are wrong. I feel so sad to be hunted by the taurs, the one that teach me the way of Domi are after me now ! I think one of our quest is to make them realize that they are manipulated."
He then tunr to Leets and Brahmah. "Now that we have no more to care for the life of the children, we can become the hunters and seek the minions of Marteaus to make them feel the taste of the steel of Domi's Hammer and break down their plot to eliminate us."
Zeoll Friday October 8th, 2004 5:41:05 AM
"Excuse me," Zeoll says, "I'll go watch Kale.
Once outside the room, Zeoll hurries out of the Temple on an errand of his own.
Flat-top Friday October 8th, 2004 6:36:26 AM
"Zeoll! I'll go with you, I know Kale the best, He can be a hard headed Minotaur at times. But you'll never find a better friend."
Flat-top bows at the Priest "I apologizes for Kale! You see he questions every thing and every bodies motive, it come in handy some times."
Flat-top starts to leave, when he is about to pass Kanchana, he whispers to her "Bad Kitten! you peek through my fingers!" (But he does smiles at her) He leaves to go to Kale.
Zeoll (illegal second post) Friday October 8th, 2004 9:44:38 AM
If anyone follows Zeoll after he is out of the temple, he'll say "Excuse me, frriends, but I have a perrsonal errrand. I'll be back shorrtly."
Speaking of Help. (DM Jim) Friday October 8th, 2004 9:09:44 PM
The priest nods as he listens to the sudden barrage of questions that are thrown at him. Taking a few minutes to think over his answers and collect his thoughts he mentally speaks. "I know of your current mission that has come to an end...for now. As to a way away from this city, that maybe a little hard as I am not sure how anyone leaves here. But I have faith that a way will present itself to you, when Domi is ready." He looks to Gecktar as he laments over their current situation with the taur races and asks what the priest knows. "It is indeed the Dark One moving in these matters. Those of your clergy, or some of them anyways, are blinded by petty squabbles of control. It is not just the regular people that seek dominance but also the clergies as well...remember that each believes that thier version of Domi is the right one, not realizing that he is one and the same." A sadness passes over his face with this revelation that he makes, though it is not a new one. "As to a way to stop this war...I am not sure that it can be stopped. Maybe with time and a little patience, but I believe that Domi and Marteaus must meet again in combat." His face clouds as he speaks for it seems inevitable to him. "Either in personal combat again or through thier minions and followers." He leans back in the cushion suddenly feeling very drained.
[Looking to get the next module going but am waiting for at least 3/4 of the character sheets to get in. Have two that I am reviewing at this time.]
Kale Friday October 8th, 2004 10:39:11 PM
(OOC, none of the posts offended me at all. belive me, when i post, i know what im going to get back!)
Kale nods at Zeoll as he leaves, then he does the same to Flat-Top. "It was getting crowded in there. I needed some air."
Flat-top Saturday October 9th, 2004 8:47:34 AM
Flat-top waves to Zeoll and just stands besides Kale, he answers him "Yes! I know, it was getting stuffy, beside the air here is much crisper and healther."
Flat-top wonders if Kale could understands the sign language the priest was using? He wonders if he should ask Kale to teach him some of those words, maybe he would not get into so many fight in bars. But then again fighting is half the fun!.
Leets Sunday October 10th, 2004 4:37:06 AM
"Well said Gecktar!"
"And now that we can focus on the ennemy, we'll have to find it!"
Brahmah Sunday October 10th, 2004 4:50:46 AM
Brahmah turns to Yurt and grins, shaking his head in agreement with the Chosen's clergy. "Is there a center of worship for Marteaus on the Float? If so, how big of an influence is here?"
Brahmah Monday October 11th, 2004 3:04:56 AM
"Yurt, has there been any anti-Marteus uprising in the City?"
Flat-top Monday October 11th, 2004 12:47:11 PM
Flat-top is still standing next to Kale, then he gets a good idea "Hey! let's go into a tavern and start a fight?? Ther's nothing else to do! maybe go play with the orphens?? No! I guess not they have to get use to the new place.""
