Grannie Reads the Cards

Grannie. (DM Jim)
Monday February 28th, 2005 8:41:40 PM

The berries on the ivy are just normal berries that always grow on ivy, though this is a little out of season. You notice no other signs of threes around but you are sure that you will see more in the future.

The elves make a rough camp in the front yard and begin to have a little bit of a light meal. They do not seem to be in much of a hurry and they do not seem to be invited for the talks.

Grannie just smiles a little wider as she listens to all the talk, especially from Zeoll. "You are such a nice boy...flattery will get you everywhere as well." She motions the group into the house and you find it to be outfitted for taurs to relax in, almost as if you were expected. "I believe that you have seen some of the omens in the air...the threes and the voice??" Looking to each taur in turn she smiles again and lightly claps her hand. A small teapot comes dancing over, accompanied by some larger cups. A cup settles in front of each taur and Grannie, as the pot pours it's tea into each cup in turn. The pot does not seem to be able to hold the amount of tea it takes to fill two cups for the taurs.

Grannie takes a sip of the tea and sighs as she leans back in a large cushion. "I have been having this same strange dream as of late. In it green appears to be awakening and growing in power. I also see an eclipse that throw the Wold into darkness, as the three orbs come into alignment." She looks back up as she takes another sip of the tea. "I know that you have seen the strange growth of fruit...this green power is responsible." With a flick of her wrist she brings out a set of old cards, a divination device some of the Chosen will realize. She lays the cards out upon a table that appears before her and she smiles. "Please cut them GreenWitch." She stares intently at Kanchana as she speaks her eyes sparkling.

Brahmah (hps 59/83)
Monday February 28th, 2005 9:23:27 PM

Brahmah just sips his drink, staring at Kanchana and waits for her to cut the deck.

Kanchana
Tuesday March 1st, 2005 12:56:53 AM

"Is Green Witch what you call Wardens, Little Mother? If not then that is a title that I have not yuet earned."
Kanchana tells (in Common) the elderly Elf as she cuts the deck and hands the cards back to her. Kanchana sniffs the fragrance from the tea before taking a very small sip to taste it.

Toros
Tuesday March 1st, 2005 1:28:42 AM

Toros watches the tea poured from the pot, filling only two taur-size cups. He volunteers to help to refill the pot, meanwhile his ears are concantrated on the conversation between Kanchana and their old elf Host.

Gecktar
Tuesday March 1st, 2005 2:55:18 AM

Gecktar is happy to find a heaven after their fight. Here is a restful place, he thinks.

Taking is cup he breath on the tea to cool it and begin to sips it, watching Kanchana and the elder elf.

The Captain lets the diplomats among the party speak, while he sips his drink.

Flat-top
Tuesday March 1st, 2005 8:34:35 AM

With his mouth open, looking high and low at all the wonders. He follows all the others into the Tree House? Sits beside Kanchana.

As Grannie pours tea in a taur size cup, he whispers to her "Thank You".
When Grannie ask Kanchana to cut the cards, he lean to whisper in her ear "Kitten! I think you have just arrive."

"I'll leave MaMa half, well maybe a quater of this cookie." He thinks to himself.

Croc(ceil)
Tuesday March 1st, 2005 9:13:18 AM

Crock follows Zeoll very closely, even into the house. He pokes Zeoll on the leg and give off a soft low growl, "grrr click (poke Zeoll's leg)click grrr!" as if to say 'This time don't skin the yellow meat!'

Zeoll
Tuesday March 1st, 2005 2:42:03 PM

Zeoll smiles when the elder elf talks of flattery. Then he is serious when the talk turns to the omens. "Yes, grrandmotherr, we have seen the omens and wonderred grreatly."

He watches the cards closely.

Leets  d20+9=27
Tuesday March 1st, 2005 2:56:47 PM

Leets enters the strange place with awe, feeling there is something ...holy on this ground.

The Centaur paladin respectfully salutes the old one, and adds when she has spoken:

"Old wise one, we have witnessed many strange things on our way to your holy place, and all of them were about the gathering of the three...On our way I have been thinking of this omen, that could only be sent to us by a divine will, and I finally thought it could be linked to the Sheperd's Father's most ancient symbol gathering the circles of power....However, according to the High Woldian scriptures, the circles were four - three linked together, gathered in another one..."

"Anyway, my faith canine companion and servant of Domi brought me this (the linked bones), I thought you would maybe look at it more closely, and see what I humbly failed to see..."

When the divination cards appear, Leets will consider them with attention, and will look what happens with the greatest interest.

OOC: Knowledge religion 27 if needed.

Solgrin
Tuesday March 1st, 2005 3:49:25 PM

Solgrin stands back and listens to what is being said while watching what is happening.

Kale
Tuesday March 1st, 2005 7:00:54 PM

Kale smiles a little bit at the old elf calling Kachanga a witch. "I think thats an approprate name." Kale mutters to himself as he waits for some tea

Grannie. (DM Jim)
Tuesday March 1st, 2005 9:36:25 PM

Grannie takes back the cards and smile to Kanchana. "Your are a druid and all...so I call you a GreenWitch...though I have a feeling that you seek more in the ways of nature." Her smile is infectious as she blows lightly on the cards. Tea pot by the way filled up all the cups, though it did not seem to have room enough to fill that many cups. She gently lays the cards out on the table and then runs her hand over them to spread them out. With a look to Brahmah she smiles and nods. "Choose three cards to give me your groups destiny."

She looks up and smiles to Leets and his dog. "I will have a look at them...but first the cards." She turns back to wait for Brahmah to pull out three cards from the deck and lay them in a line before himself on the table.

Granny's face goes blank for a second as she sways lightly in her cushion. A voice that sounds like it just woke up issues from her throat. "The time has come...greens power awakens...come what may the flood is upon you. As she wills...for good or ill, it matters not...for she only knows neutrality." Granny's head slumps forward and she seems to yawn as she looks to the cards and smiles again. "You can pull three...Captain Brahmah." She seems to have no recollection of what she just said.

Brahmah (hps 59/83)
Tuesday March 1st, 2005 10:04:26 PM

The minotaur is about to pull the three cards then stops. He smiles.
"I am not the one who chooses our destiny. Only Domi can do that." He looks at the woman. "Besides, I've never been one to believe this type of hokus pokus."

Kanchana
Wednesday March 2nd, 2005 12:41:28 AM

Kanchana grins at Brahmah's comment; Kale's and Flat-top's too.
In Tauric she quietly; and in good humor, says to Brahmah,
"Humor the old woman Brahmah. She probably doesn't get non-elven visitors too often."

Kanchana wonder at the odd words the elderly Elf just spouted. 'I wonder if she has the true gift of Sight; either that or something just possessed her?'

Kanchana decides to ask about Mother Wold since it sounded like that is who the Elf woman was talking about.
(In Common) "Little Mother, were you talking about Mother Wold just now? You said the green was awakening and that a flood would come. It makes little sense to me that She would first awaken things only to destroy them?"

Flat-top
Wednesday March 2nd, 2005 6:38:20 AM

Flat-top sits there sipping his tea, his eyes are as big as sausers. Whispering to Leets "Whoa! that was something? I don't know what happen! But that was something?"

Brahmah (hps 59/83)
Wednesday March 2nd, 2005 8:24:59 AM

Brahmah nods at Kanchana and takes three cards. If there is anything with a skull, skeleton or bones on one of the cards, he'll show it to Kanchana and frown.

Toros
Wednesday March 2nd, 2005 8:29:05 AM

It is very impolite but, Toros cannot stop himself and will have a look at inside the teapot. He also needs one of these pots...

Anyway, if he continues to play like that, his tea is also going to get cold for sure, if it is not magically warmed.

Kale
Wednesday March 2nd, 2005 9:28:55 AM

while everyone is drinking tea and looking at cards, Kale asks for the bag the elvin captain gave them then begins to go through it

Leets
Wednesday March 2nd, 2005 1:44:20 PM

Leets nods at Flat-Top with energy, like a little boy seeing something fabulous....

He will then focus his attention in Brahmah's drw, as he feels even more concerned since Brahmah is the leader...

Solgrin
Wednesday March 2nd, 2005 3:49:02 PM

Solgrin continues to listen and watch what is happening.

Zeoll
Wednesday March 2nd, 2005 4:02:03 PM

Just in case Kanchana was not clear, Zeoll says, "Grandmotherr, do you rrealize the worrds you just said? You said something like, 'The time has come. Grreen powerr awakes. The flood is on us.' What does that mean?"

The Cards and Destiny. (DM Jim)
Wednesday March 2nd, 2005 11:21:37 PM

Granny looks to each card that is laying before Brahmah on the table as he finally pulls them. "Your groups destiny maybe in the cards...that does not mean that you make it but the Forge Master can speak through them...among others." She flips over the first card and you see the following. The two moons passing before the sun near the top of the card. Below that are what would appear to be a pair of eyes opening and staring down upon the Wold. The Wold is shrouded in darkness all around it. She flips over the second card as she ponders the first one. A twin city, one pointing to the top of the card the other towards the bottom. The top on in darkness has a howering clawed hand over it, as if ready to attack. The bottom city has a clawed hand seeming to be caring for it or protecting it. Both cities are covered by vines and it appears as if the forest is closing in on it from both sides of the cities. Flipping over the last card she nods her head and sighs. It has a picture of all three taur races on it traveling a path. It looks to be leading to a distant fort city surrounded by trees. A red moon hangs over the top of the city. Granny looks back up to Brahmah and nods her head. "I am not sure if you want to hear this...but the cards tell of a new fort city in need of The Chosens' help." Pointing to each card in turn she speaks again telling you what each card tells her. "The first is of an eclipse to happen and the first in many years that includes all the heavenly bodies. The eyes would represent a sleeping power that is arising from deep slumber. I am not sure exactly if the Wold shrouded in darkness is a bad omen or just from the eclipse. The second card is this fort city that needs your help. They are under attack from a natural source and protected by a natural source as well. The last card is obviously The Chosen making thier way to this city as the last hope. The blood moon hangs in the sky, telling of a decision that must be made for good or ill." She looks to all of The Chosen and gives them a smile as she lays her hands upon the other cards.

Turning to the question posed to her she shakes her head as if in doubt. "You say that I spoke...yet I do not remember saying anything." She listens to what little she is told of what she says and stops to ponder it for awhile. She sips her tea in silence for some time and then speaks. "I would say that something is going to happen then...most likely involving nature if all the omens are to be believed.

She lets the teapot refill anyone's cups that have run out as she waits to see what they will decide or have to say.

[Kale - Will give what you find in the bag with tomorrow's post.]

Kanchana
Thursday March 3rd, 2005 12:13:37 AM

Kanchana looks at the cards with extreme scepticism. She thinks 'oh brilliant another accursed city! We have all the luck...'

"Little Mother ask your cards what will happen if we decide to not seek out yet another foreign city," Kanchana asks this with the utmost bland patience.
Adeptly masking her true emotions; not a bare hint of them are too be seen as she asks. Any super perspective people will maybe see that she is annoyed at the thought of another city; otherwise she looks simply perplexed.

Needless to say the natural city thing makes her want to laugh, cities are blights - and nature doesn't fight itself, only "people" do that. Kanchana thinks Brahmah's hokey statement has some merit all of a sudden, although Kanchana herself believes that reading cards is "hedge magic" - not necessarily hokey. It must be the tailored appearence of the cards that has her on edge?? Perhaps it is what seems to be the deminished mental state of the Elder One?

(In Tauric) "This can't have anything important to do with Mother Wold, Brothers. It sounds too wrong and twisted to be Her. It must be this woman's people or Spirit Kin perhaps? I think we are being herded by something again..." Kanchana tells the Chosen only, sounding paranoid? again? She looks genuinely perplexed by the card puzzle.

(And returning to polite Common...)
"Little Mother, I will have to commune with Father and Mother on this, because these are strange tidings. They seem to have little or nothing to do with our One True Calling. I hope you forgive my rudeness in leaving your splendid home so early. I won't be too far away; just among the trees and plants near here."

Kanchana also thanks the Elf woman for the tea and will then leave the treehouse to go pray for guidance. She really needs to hear from Father Tomi and Mother Wold on all of this, since it makes so very little sense to her. Nature is going haywire and the hedge divination seems to say the same, Kanchana is rapidly growing very frightened by this. She saw what happend when Father Tomi died; his servants didn't fare too well. What will happen if Mother is dying? Everyone will die won't they? Kanchana is plagued with horrible thoughts about all of these weird things.

Gecktar
Thursday March 3rd, 2005 6:02:47 AM

Gecktar listen to the omens of the old lady. He is trying to interpret them but find really nothing.

He scratch his head. Maybe the city in need is plateau city ?

Flat-top
Thursday March 3rd, 2005 7:26:45 AM

Flat-top drain his cup of tea, "Hmmm! That is the best tea I ever had!" As his cup is refilled, he ask Granny "This third card of the Three Taurs Races whit thr Red Moon, I have one question."

At this point Flat-top goes into his saddle bags and pulls out his gift he received on Gift Day. He unwraps the Big (Beer) Stein and shows Granny the Mug, "This was given to me and told of things to come? Look at the taurs pictured on the mug! There are Four kind of Taurs on it, I was told it was of thing to come! Could it be that Kanchana and Toros are Weinic? And Zeoll is a Liontaur?"

Flat-top then points at the Third card (With the three races of taur)"Does this mean that we are going to meet a fourth kind of Taur to help out."

Flat-top does not know why he said this, BUT the question bothers him.

Kale
Thursday March 3rd, 2005 9:34:45 AM

Kale looks up from rummaging through the bag and say "What did she just say?"

Leets
Thursday March 3rd, 2005 1:06:17 PM

Leets remains contemplative, looking the cards...

"Two moons and one sun...A gathering of three stellar powers Wise Old One, as the omen of the three could announciate it. However, here are two celestial bodies of the night hiding the sun, an agressive imbalance of the Wold forces."

"And the red moon...This time this moon is alone, she's not imbalancing the Wold. Here is the silver mirror of the night. But this mirror is red. Blood. A fight will occur in this city."

Leets breathes deeply, looking tired and dark once more...He retires for a couple of minutes, thinking by his own....

Solgrin
Thursday March 3rd, 2005 1:31:54 PM

Solgrin hearing this says to the other Chosen "I say we get to the library in Plateau City and do some research on this."
Solgrin then looks around to see what the others think and to see what he elves are doing.

Toros
Thursday March 3rd, 2005 2:02:17 PM

Toros tries to combine the future that is shown through the cards with the past events that has brought the Chosen in front of this old Elf. He wonders how and why she plays such a role for Chosen, who were just on their way to..., were we? weren't we??. Toros is in a heavy mental state now that prevents him even to talk but just think and listen.

Zeoll  d20+10=23
Thursday March 3rd, 2005 8:34:00 PM

At first Zeoll is amazed! The images on those cards ... they could not have been there when the deck was shuffled! Maybe these are magic cards, and the images on the cards change for each fortune?

Then the liontaur becomes a little more sceptical. We were brought here by elves, so maybe this elf lady knew we were coming and prepared everything.

But what about the omens? The fruit? The three birds in one? No, Zeoll chooses to believe in this fortune teller.

Sensing his friends' doubt (Sense Motive check 23), Zeoll speaks in Tauric after thinking it over.

"Frriends, do not disbelieve this elf woman. I sense herr sincerrity and I trrust herr. My instincts tell me she means us well."

"I am no frriend of cities, especially not small-folk cities, but we serrrve Domi, not ourrselves, and ourr duty calls. Let us follow Domi's will, even if the taste is sourr to us. We have a grreaterr purrpose than ourr own pleasurres."

Then in common Zeoll says to the elf woman. "Forrgive us, grrandmotherr, forr ourr prrivate talk. Yourr news is unsettling. But we serrve Domi in this as in all things."

"We werre planning to go to the librrarry in Plateau City. Is that still ourr path? Is Plateau City ourr destination? Orr if not, wherre do you think we should go?"

Brahmah (hps 59/83)

Thursday March 3rd, 2005 8:35:26 PM

Brahmah is quiet, looking at the cards, and wonders what it all means. Things are never easy. Thinking to himself.

Granny Answers and Sleep. (DM Jim)
Thursday March 3rd, 2005 8:43:50 PM

Granny looks to Kanchana, with a look of a patient mother, and shakes her head. "Obviously the city will fall and whatever you needed to do there will be lost." She listens to the rest around her as they talk a little and she takes another sip of her tea.

Looking to Flat-top she takes the mug given to him and studies it intently. She smiles as she looks to the pictures and laughs lightly. "In legend it tells of a lost race of taur...much like the satyr they are...but it is only legend...I think." She seems a little puzzled as she hands back the stein with a delicate hand. "They may know more at the Library of Magic or the Royal Library."

She lets the group ponder over what this fortune could mean to them and takes another sip of her tea. Her ears seem to perk up as Kanchana speaks once again but this time in Tauric. Though she understands what is being said she takes no offense as she can see where this is going. Of course elves are at times headstrong and a lot full of themselves, it seems that they are not the only ones though. She laughs at her own thoughts and falls back into coughing. "You must do as you see fit...I just read the cards, not make decisions."

The Chosen take to the outside of the house that night, setting up camp. Kanchana finds herself alone and in serious need of guidance from Mother Wold. The others need the same though. This night they have the first dream from Domi in a long time, though Kanchana also has a visit from Mother Wold herself.

Domi's message:Highlight to display spoiler: {You find yourself staning in the blistering heat of a forge room. Domi stands with hammer in hand pounding on a piece of steel that he is working. You see an intricute metal clockwork toy setting to the side, unfinished. He dips the metal in water and then lays it to the side, before turning to face you. "My Chosen...you have become rather blinded in your duties to me. You see only the cause of the Taurs that I have set for you, but do not see the need to help others anymore. To unite the Taur races you will need more than just your own power...do you not see the power in having allies of other races?? When the war comes and it will come, for Marteaus will not have it any other way...will you stand alone with only a few to hold off the horde?? Will you fail me this time around?? With a sad look he turns back to the piece of metal and picks it up with tongs to work on once again. "You must learn to be as this steel...strong but able to bend when needed." You feel a sadness but also a sense of hope as you travel back away from the dreamworld.}

Mother Wold's message:Highlight to display spoiler: {Kanchana finds herself running through a forest enjoying the feels and sounds of nature. Suddenly she is standing about five feet from a female made completely of many types of earth/plant and animals. She smiles to Kanchana with a tear slowly traveling down her cheek. "You have lost your way my daughter." Off in the distance is a city that is built with nature in mind and then another city that is not. "These two cities are as different as night and day, but yet they both survive as best they can." With a smile she seems to peer right into Kanchana's heart. "You see every city as a blight on nature...yet you would make use of some of luxuries that they would provide...do you not buy stuff at thier shops and use thier places to outfit yourself to handle the rigors of nature?? She shakes her head once again. "You think that nature does not fight itself and yet your own race will fight itself...the very taurs you seek to save fight among themselves...all of this is survival in one form or another. Not all can be one with nature." You see the history of the elven race as it flashes before you in the persepective of nature herself. The elves fighting one another and the races split into three parts; elves, drow elves and the ice elves of Ice Vein. "As you can see even the elves fight amongst themselves and they are one of the few races that live alomst as one with nature...more so than any other race that live upon me." You see that her form is almost racked with pain as she clutches her hands around herself. "What is to happen will change my face forever and I know not if it is for the better...I fear the war will once again tear my surface and burn me in many places...I am about to be forced into a rebellion I fear or a choice that will not be good for the creatures that live upon me." With a last look to Kanchana she lays a comforting hand upon her shoulder. You feel the solidity of the very Wold flow into you...a peace and joy that is the feeling of one with that which you seek, but also a fear of the unknown. "Father Domi is looking for you to be more like the metals her works...I seek you to be more like the very trees of the Wold...bend with the wind when needed but be strong when you are needed." Another tear falls down her cheek as the dream starts to fade with the coming of dawn. "Make me proud my sister and let go your superior ways...none are more superior in my eyes."}

Treasure
platinum(100), jade(16), ivory knucklebone(6), backpack(7), bedroll(7), inkpen(2), vial of ink(4), waterskin(6), hempen rope -- 50 feet(3), paper(6), flask of oil(4), smokestick(4), thunderstone(3), healer's kit, sack of oats, wheel of cheese(3), gallon of ale(2), loaf of bread(10), raven feather(2), strip of beads with runes(2), battleaxe, shortsword, leather, arrow(8), bolt(6), potion(8), ring, foot long stick, two feet long stick

A Plea

Please do not take my above dreams personally. I do not have anything against anyone as they are playing thier characters. I just thought that maybe a reminder that sometimes you have to do something outside of your main goal is needed. I believe that this did not come out right in this post and for that I am sorry. Please no hard feelings here and let me know if I have steped over the line. ~Jim

Kanchana
Friday March 4th, 2005 3:21:45 AM

Kanchana welcomes the dreams; no matter how berating they are towards her. The divine guidance was sorely needed, as far as she is concerned they have been left adrift without a clear path (other than their Calling) for far too long.

In her dreams she will first listen to the wisdom of the Father and Mother, but because she believes that these are not common dreams but lucid dreams she will send her thoughts to her Patrons. Whether they care to listen is another matter entirely.

'Father, I have not closed my eyes to the needs of others. I just had to be certain that the need was truly there - that we were not being tricked into doing something very immoral and loathsome again. My fairly limited experience with non Taurs says that they ask much but give little in return, or have allied with those who hunt your true Children. Forgive me Father Tomi for my error in judgement,' Kanchana speaks quietly and in absolute reverance for Father Tomi.

She hopes that her "words" will set things right again somehow, at least not hurt the others!
It simply never occured to her that the Elves would bother to help Taurs, the Elder Elf just read the unusual cards and offered nothing understandable in return. The cards' images were too tailored, usually divining cards have purely symbolic drawings that can mean many things. It seemed like a new trick, and Nature not being right what should she think? Nevermind the fact that it once again seemed like being herded.

Kanchana almost falls into a fitful sleep when a new lucid dream occurs. For the first time since she joined the Chosen Mother has chosen to speak with her.

Instead of being filled with joy at the prospect Kanchana is sorely hurt by the mostly unreasonable rebuke. She was taught that cities (not small towns and villages) were blights. She is hurt even more that Mother Wold blames her for having to rely on manufactured things. She is after all only mortal; she cannot work miracles! Kanchana feels that this must be a scolding for her irrational fear of losing material items from earlier. She will take all of this to heart; new things to learn from.

Kanchana doesn't understand why she needed to see the history of the Elves, but maybe they know why Nature is being altered, or injured? Kanchana "feels" the pain wracks that Mother Wold feels. She also feels empty inside, except for the pain. Her joy in the change of seasons and the joy from green growing things and healing is conspicuously absent for the time span that the rest of the dream takes.

'Mother. We Taurs and non Taurs come from Nature but the things we invent; our society, our culture, makes us distant from Nature - from You. We cannot follow the Cycles as well as we should because we put ourselves apart from them. Isn't that why we fight among ourselves? Because we grasp for things that aren't ours? Because we don't try to understand, but instead let our inferior motives guide us? Mother, how can we help You? Will we be driven mad like Father Tomi's children? I will fail to protect You won't I?'

As Mother Wold actually touches her Kanchana is thoroughly overwhelmed with the feelings that invokes. She literally feels the weight of the burdens of Mother Wold dragging her down. Kanchana only wanted to protect her Brothers from being abused, she only wants to see that Nature and Mother Wold's younger children (i.e. the animals et.al.) were being given proper respect and being protected as well.
She wonders if she has done anything at all that has pleased either Mother Wold or Father Tomi? She has certainly never been "superior", misguided obviously, but not superior.
It wasn't like she said no to the Elder Elf, she just wanted to know what would happen if they decided to disregard the "omen" from the cards. She just wanted proper information this time so maybe she could make an informed decision. She had no idea that that was such a bad thing. Not for the first time Kanchana wishes that she could just let the whims of Fate determine everything for her rather than her own sense of morals and her need to feel like she has some small say over part of her life.

After the two harrowing experiences Kanchana wakes up immediately and will not get any more sleep that night. In the morning Kanchana will look as tired and bad as she feels.
She forages for food for Ilder and herself and shares the food between her companion and herself. Kanchana will return sometime later in the morning and will keep to herself.

If anyone asks about the cards and the town she will reply: "We have to go to the city that isn't like any other city."
Kanchana will not elaborate on that any further. She is certain that everyone heard from Father Tomi last night.

Kanchana privately hopes that they will eventually get to Plateau City in the near future because the Chosen need to learn new knowlege.

Gecktar
Friday March 4th, 2005 4:10:18 AM

The dream relieves Gecktar from a weight he was not expected or not aware to carry.
Even if the dreams sounds like admonition, he welcome it. Guidance is always welcome and Gecktar is now aware of the way they have to take... Of course allies are necessary for their quest !! How could they have been so blind.

With a new resolve, Gecktar wake up an prepare the breakfast for the other Chosen, knowing that each of them received the same message he don't talk about it and welcome any helping hand.

Friday March 4th, 2005 7:02:25 AM

In the dream, when Domi chides the group, for the tiniest moment, Zeoll has an ignoble feeling deep in his heart towards his fellow Chosen, "Told you so! Told you so!"

But then he immediately squelches that emotion, feeling shame at himself.

He prays in his native tongue, "Tomi, please forgive us! Inspire us to do what is right, what is your will!"

When he wakes up, he too understands that all have had the dream. "Come my frriends," he says smiling, "Let us face a new day with rrenewed sense of purrpose and hope! For we arre watched overr and loved!"

But his question remains ... "Which way do we go? To Plateau City? Somewhere else?"

Flat-top
Friday March 4th, 2005 7:50:12 AM

Flat-top sits back and tells Granny "I knew you would have the answer. I heared of a forth kind of Taur a long time ago. I though it was a nap time story to put colts to sleep. Thank you Granny, Your the best."

But now it was getting late and all are getting tired. Flat-top will lean on the nearest tree next to Kanchana, and dream the Dreams.

When they awaken in the morning, and gret together for Breakfast. Flat-top ask every one about the dreams. Then ask Kanchana about the beautiful taur Dam in the other dream, "She was so beautiful!" he adds.

Kale
Friday March 4th, 2005 9:31:43 AM

"I guess I just got scolded." Kale says to himself after he wakes up from the dream. "Oh well, its not the first time."

(For the sake of clarity) (Eunice)
Friday March 4th, 2005 4:09:04 PM

(With "true Children" she means the "UniTaurs", with "would bother to help Taurs" she means Taurs in general not the Chosen in particular.

I think I will point out that Kanchana would have been rather surprised that Mother Wold doesn't seem to understand the Nature/Society schism, and why mortal beings have to rely on tools/weapons and manufactured goods whether they want to or not. Mother Wold's rebuke of Kanchana seemed to show remarkebly little insight into the "mortal condition"!) :-O

Solgrin
Friday March 4th, 2005 4:38:13 PM

Solgrin wakes in the morning feeling that 'searching for knowlege is not a well looked upon option.'
Solgrin will gather with the other Chosen to see if they had the same dream and what they think.

Toros
Friday March 4th, 2005 7:30:14 PM

When Granny finished her talking Toros will ask the old Elf how she has found the Chosen. Briefly reminding her their encounter with the Bounty Hunters he will thank her for sending the elves to find them. He will suggest that if the Chosen can do anything for her or the elves in return they will be very happy for being able to do this. While saying these Toros still cannot connect what the cards tell for future with what has happened within last week. He just wants to say that he is grateful, and the old lady and the other elves are his friends and he will be glad if he can also do something for them.

Later he would like to introduce their old lady resting in the wagon with the newly met old lady, hoping that they will like each other's companion and have some nice things to talk.

He will leave to think about all these stuff about the future for tomorrow morning, with a fresh mind. After the night, when he recalls the dream of Domi, Toros will feel really good and warming relief, as now everything seems to be fitting into one picture, and he is grateful to Domi that he let Chosen realize what they need to do. He will not talk about the dream for a while though.

Brahmah (hps 59/83)
Friday March 4th, 2005 11:26:02 PM

Brahmah leaves, sets up his bed at camp, has the dream and disappears before morning. No one sees him go.

(OOC: Email to follow, Jim.)

Leets
Saturday March 5th, 2005 3:05:28 AM

Leets adds to Flat-Top words:

"A fourth race of Taurs! Oh yes! But we thought they were those grasshoppers-taurs we met at the surefoot vineyard!"

However, the humor Leets tries to add to his words doesn't manage to hide his trouble. And the dream sent by Domi in the night will only comfort him in his state of mind. He will pray until the sun rises, trying to explain his feelings to his god.

I know, Allmighty Father, that I may appear as a whining colt sometimes, but you, more than anybody, know that I would give my life or more to serve your cause. It is just...Allmighty Father, that I was a humble sheperd when you called me. Mother had prepared me for the task you wanted me to accomplish, and I was glad to leave the loneliness of my hills to serve you and reunite my people. But now, not only the Taur race is concerned, but the whole Wold, and this is a terrible weight we have to share. This is why, Allmighty Lord, I feel joy in my heart when you say that we'll meet allies on our way. But on the other hand, I know that those bonds of friendship will be weaved with your Chosen's blood. This is why I also feel pain, and sadness. Thank you Allmighty Lord for this omen you sent us. We'll serve you as we've always done.

The Next Day. (DM Jim)
Sunday March 6th, 2005 12:25:57 AM

Just before your dream with Domi ends you get a sudden feeling of peace. "Do not be discouraged my Chosen...you are doing me proud." You get the sense that he is smiling upon you as the dream fades.

Mother Wold looks to Kanchana as the dreamworld begins to fade out. "For some it may bring them further from me, but others serve in thier own way. I take pleasure in the little things as well. Though cities maybe removed from nature up to a point, this is the road that these people chose to live...it is survival. Some grasp for things that do not belong to them...all creatures must live as they see fit and not all grasp for things that do not belong to them. You yourself grasp for things that will help out your fellow Chosen or myself. By bettering yourself you are able to better serve me. Take heart child...when the time comes you will not fail...nature will survive. I am the greatest survivor of them all." A feeling of peace settles upon Kanchana as she feels the love of Mother Wold for her.

------------------------------------------------

The group does not speak much this morning as breakfast is fixed. It is strange but Brahmah is nowhere to be found when everyone wakes. Everyone is a little subdued as they go about thier own little tasks. Some feel they have a more clear purpose but others feel like a scolded child.

Anyone talking to any of the elves will find that they have not seen Brahmah either. You will find Old Koot in the house of Granny, both of them talking and laughing about things. They will both look up as anyone enters and inquire if anything is wrong.

Flat-top
Sunday March 6th, 2005 8:00:29 AM

Flat-top wakes and since Kanchana is sleeping, he will go to the waterfall for a good wash. He'll take a good run for about a half mile, then head back to the group.

"Leets that was quit a dream! But Domi is proud of us, tell me have you seen the Captain?"

Flat-top will wait for Kanchana to eat breackfast with her.

Kanchana
Sunday March 6th, 2005 5:25:24 PM

Kanchana was not sleeping; in fact she almost didn't sleep at all.
She was out in the forest when Brahmah left unseen.
She would just have returned from her solitary foraging and equally solitary (except for Ilder's company) breakfast in the forest when most of the others had just gotten up for the day.
If Flat-top really wants to have breakfast with her then she will have a second breakfast.
She won't talk about the dreams, and she is now uncertain of their origins. To her the schizophrenic attitudes of the two gods is perplexing. The Warden wonders if some other higher being is messing with their minds! Kanchana keeps this entirely to herself.
The sense of peace that the dreams seemed to project have the exact opposite effect on her, it makes her more unsettled if anything.
Kanchana will have to spend many days considering the two dreams before she will make up her mind on anything concerning them, and what they really mean.
Kanchana also does not notice that Brahmah is gone.

ooc: dominic
Sunday March 6th, 2005 6:18:11 PM

let solgrin id any magical items that is in the treasure from the last battle. it only costs him 100 gp compaired to 110gp that it costs in the catacombs.

I know of atleast 2 items that Solgrin is interested in getting.

OOC (Eunice)
Sunday March 6th, 2005 7:22:38 PM

I have a question. Why wasn't the treasure handled as party treasure? It was just handled as DM - Kale, and Kale didn't post anything IC about it that I can recall.
I have been politely waiting for an IC post on the treasure since there are items that the party can use as a whole (or a clearer post from DM James that it was to be handled for every PC to have their say). This was all rather confusing really.

Cayzle OOC
Sunday March 6th, 2005 10:57:23 PM

I was kinda confused about the treasure too!

Jay B
Monday March 7th, 2005 1:02:34 AM

OOC: I'm working on Sam's transaction in the Catacombs. I'll suspend the order until we figure things out.

OOC: Ceil
Monday March 7th, 2005 4:27:57 AM

Makes no differance It will all come out in the wash!!

Solgrin
Monday March 7th, 2005 5:15:44 AM

Solgrin wakes after only a couple of hours of sleep then studies his spellbook for another couple of hours.
After studying Solgrin will have a light breakfast then will go looking to see if he can find Brahmah.

(Eunice to Ceil)
Monday March 7th, 2005 5:17:35 AM

I don't understand your comment Ceil. :-o

Doesn't it matter if the rest of the party isn't consulted on party treasure?

(Note: I am leaving plenty of leeway for the fact that I may or may not have missed something somewhere!)

Zeoll
Monday March 7th, 2005 8:23:48 AM

Zeoll is glad, on waking, to have had this contact with the Lord of Courage. Sometimes lately Zeoll has had need of that.

But he is worried about Brahmah. He asks Old Koot, Granny, and all the other elves if anyone saw him. Surely there are watches set in the night? Was no one on lookout?

OOC: I think Ceil just means that we'll work it out. Right, Ceil?

Brahmah
Monday March 7th, 2005 8:34:13 AM

Brahmah goes on with his business.

Toros
Monday March 7th, 2005 9:28:03 AM

Toros tries to fits into the daily life in this new rest place. He does not worry much about the disappearance of Brahmah at the moment. Perhaps he might have gone to shopping for the Chosen or to deal with a personal matter of his own.

Sam- OOC
Monday March 7th, 2005 9:36:25 AM

i was just rollplaying Kale the way he is. i wanted to get it done faster than we normally do. if its such a big deal then you all can deal with the treasure next time.

(Eunice)
Monday March 7th, 2005 9:47:45 AM

Efficiency isn't a problem, it was just all posted so unclear.
My question to Ceil was meant in general not specific to anything here, however I do see where that question can be read both ways!

I am happy as long as party goods are split equally, and of course as long as items for healing; and protective items, are dispersed to those who can use them or have greatest need for them.
As it is obvious that we need to improve AC among our spellcasters (most notably Solgrin I believe?) and healing is always in demand it seems.

I didn't mean to seem to be dissing you or Kale Sam.

Personally I think we could handle treasure dispersion via e-mail, that way the game doesn't have to be put on hold for longer than necessary. :)

Flat-top
Monday March 7th, 2005 11:35:47 AM

After his morning run He gathers his breackfast, Some oats here, some wheat there, a little letuce, alittle clovers amd wild green oinons. The centaur ask granny for a coup of tea.

After gathering hid meal, Flat-top goes back to the others. "Want some??" He ask Kanchana.
He'll share with her or anybody else, if not then he'll eat it all himself.

(Eunice, this has nothing to do with you or Brahmah, When we had a reading in Granny house, Flat-top remembered that Beer stein he got that Giving Day? and the engraving of the four taurs?

I though is Flat-top mention it, it would start a dialalog going. All of you jump at the wrong conclution.

I have been in this game as long as it started, along with Kale and Leets. Just remember that things are going to happen that will only end at the Woldcom games.)

(Eunice about WoldCon)
Monday March 7th, 2005 11:41:56 AM

(I hope they take into consideration all of us that cannot afford to go to WoldCon, due to the spendy price of airfare! I just didn't understand the "come out in the wash" part, must be an idiom I have never heard before.)

(Ceil - Eunice)
Monday March 7th, 2005 12:48:31 PM

If you cannot afford to come to the Woldcom, Don't worry. they have plans for the home bound players.

The Idiom of It Will All Come Out In The Wash. means Don't worry!

Relax Eunice, Just relax.

Gecktar
Monday March 7th, 2005 2:33:24 PM

Gecktar offers some breakfast he prepared to any of those wish something.

Seeing all taurs assembled axcept Brahmah he asks. "Will Brahmah have breakfast with us ? I've not seen him this morning"

Leets
Monday March 7th, 2005 3:09:25 PM

Leets answers Flat-Top:

"I know, my old friend, that our Allmighty Father is proud of us, although it is not the object of my own quest...However...however, I wonder what will be the price of our task tomorrow. We have been facing Gargul, and I can't help but think something terrible could happen soon to one of us with such an important weight on our hands..."

"I don't think I would allow it..."

OOC: what happened with the treasure? I don't get what's the problem....

Kale
Monday March 7th, 2005 5:13:43 PM

"When are we leaving?" Kale ask

Missing Taur and Decisions. (DM Jim)
Tuesday March 8th, 2005 1:21:31 AM

The group goes about breakfast and thier other morning tasks. Though some of you notice that Brahmah has left it appears that some do not find it too worrysome.

Zeoll inquires around with the elves but finds that noone saw Brahmah leave. It appears that he might have slipped off during a shift change or he was very good at leaving. Granny and Old Koot just shrug thier own shoulder about his disappearance as they have been in the house.

Solgrin finds minotaur tracks outside of the hidden area that the house is in. They seem to be moving in the direction of Plateau City.

The question is posed as to when the group is leaving. It would appear that they need to decide on a destination or seek out some help for that as well.

[Sorry about a late post. Spent all day getting rid of a couple of viruses. That can be a long process at times.]

Gecktar
Tuesday March 8th, 2005 3:02:24 AM

"I think we can leave as soon as every body is ready to go." Gecktar answers Kale. "I myself am ready but maybe should we discuss about where we are going to go if anybody have a proposition different form Plateau City..."

"Else let's go for Plateau City"

Gecktar still looks around, intrigued to not notice any sign of Brahmah.

Kanchana
Tuesday March 8th, 2005 3:47:15 AM

Kanchana doesn't really want to say much to anyone today.
"I suggest we give Brahmah a night and a day for himself. He might be communing with Father Tomi, he might return to us here after that."

Kanchana listens to Gecktar's suggestion.
"We will get to Plateau City sooner or later. Unfortunately for me I was ordered to go to that other city..."

Kanchana speaks her words with absolute apathy. She will not ask the others to go where she so blatantly has to go. The entire Chosen shouldn't be haring around after "visions" anyway.

The only others who should have heard from Mother Wold are fellow Druids; like Zeoll, and possibly any rangers (this is as far as Kanchana would understand this of course). Kanchana does not expect any of the others to have received any "dreams" from her, and will be surprised to hear if any non-followers of the Great Mother received word from her.

Brahmah (hps 59/83)

Tuesday March 8th, 2005 4:50:11 AM

Brahmah goes about his business.

Flat-top
Tuesday March 8th, 2005 6:19:19 AM

"Leets, Geeiktar, Kale, Solgum and Toros! In my dream Domi wants us to go to the City. I don't like it but I say we go to the city and the Captain will catch up with us there, Domi willing?" Flat-top turns to Kanchana and Zeoll. "As Soon as you two finish your breackfast, We'll follow Kale!"

Flat-top smiles at his shy minotaur friend (Kale) and secritly puckers his lips and make a kissing jester.

Zeoll
Tuesday March 8th, 2005 6:47:37 AM

Thinking back over recent events, Zeoll tells the other Chosen that he thinks it would be a good idea to go over their mission and the options that the group faces.

"Herre is what we know. Therre is a "Holy Warr" to be waged in the Taurr Islands. Varrgas Larrgrranza (the minotaurr fighterr and serrvant of Marrteaus who is ourr enemy) seems to be rrecrruiting an arrmy to fight this warr. He is also trrying to get his hands on a Weapon with which to fight the warr."

"RRememberr what the Prriest of Domi told us: 'The dead will walk in his name as he bearrs something blackerr than the night in his rright hand. I am neverr able to see exactly what it is that he carrries, but it is a devestating weapon. One of old that the Darrk One did not know was crreated at the time.' "

"The prriest said that Varrgas did not have this Devastating Black Weapon yet. He said it was possible that we could get it beforre Varrgas did. That's why we arre going to the Plateau City -- to the RRoyal Librrarry in Plateau City -- to find out morre about the Black Weapon so we can find it firrst. The Librrarrian and historrians of the Librrarry will be looking forr us, accorrding to the prriest."

"It is Mikal the Page who is leading us to the Librrarry."

"But now we have been told, in omen, prrophecy, and drream, that we arre not to go to Plateau City yet, but that we arre supposed to go to save a differrent city. This new city is a forrt city that needs ourr help; it is underr attack frrom a naturral sourrce and prrotected by a naturral sourrce as well. Somehow this is rrelated to an eclipse and a sleeperr who is waking. And in ourr drream, Domi himself said we need to bend away frrom the quest to save ourr own people, and that by doing so we might gain allies who will help us in ourr fight."

"So I think that ourr courrse is clearr. We should wait forr a day and a night to see if Captain Brrahmah rreturrns. Then, eitherr with Brrahmah orr not, we have to go help this forrt city. The biggest prroblem is that we do not know wherre it is orr how to get to it. Any ideas on that?"

"Oh, and we should send Mikal on to the Librrarry, to tell the Librrarrian that we are sorrry, but we will be therre as soon as we can, afterr ourr currrent business is done."

Toros
Tuesday March 8th, 2005 8:36:02 AM

Toros contributes to the ongoing talking about what and how to do next.

"Yes, lets wait Captain for some more time, meanwhile we get ready for what we are going to do next. And I believe Captain will not leave us uninformed, if what he is doing now is gonna take longer. Otherwise, there is something wrong going on and perhaps we should first look for Brahmah, before doing anything else.

Lets go to talk with the Granny, old Koot and Elf Leader. Perhaps we can even get the support of the elves. They were very good at hunting the hunters. They can be convinced to accompany us to the city or Mikhal to the Library.

Actually, we should also listen to what Mikhal thinks to do. If he wants to come with us, instead of him we may be able to send some of the elves on to the library to let Librarians know what we are doing. In any case Mikhal should not travel alone, I believe. It may be because of us or not but, traveling on this route has become very dangerous recently."

Finishing the breakfast Toros then will go to listen to what Granny and the Elf Leader has to say about the Chosen's inquiries.

Kale
Tuesday March 8th, 2005 9:23:51 AM

"Maybe the elves know where this city is. Or maybe the old taurs do. If we're to wait for Brahmah, lets go ahead and get all the information we can get here." Kale tells Zeoll

Sam-OOC
Tuesday March 8th, 2005 9:29:40 AM

as far as the treasure goes, ive identified everything except the 8 potions. i used a portion of the platinum that we got, so we have 9120 gps left from that. im also trying to sell all the mundane items we got. the only real thing of interest there are the beads(they are not magical). ive gone ahead and stopped posting in the Catacombs until you let me know if you all want me to continue there or wait and let it be done another way.

(Eunice to Sam)
Tuesday March 8th, 2005 11:08:23 AM

Sam please keep the healer kit as well, our wands are finite items (and are actually being overused at times) and mundane healing methods need to be used whenever possible as they are considerably cheaper to replace. The beads with runes might very well be a plot prop so I agree we might want to keep that for now as well.

Leets
Tuesday March 8th, 2005 2:41:10 PM

"As always, Zeoll, your clear and global vision of things brings light to the mists of our minds!"

"Of course, we have to go to this city, we won't allow people to die while we walk another way...And anyway, dark weapon or not, it will be soon enough to stop Vargas and make him swallow whatever kind of undead is following him!"

"So...To the mysterious city! Our allies are waiting for our help!"

Solgrin
Tuesday March 8th, 2005 5:48:06 PM

Solgrin goes over and talks with the elves "what do you know about this other town?"

Happenings Around the Area. (DM Jim)
Tuesday March 8th, 2005 10:35:34 PM

Granny's House Events.

Many things are talked over and it is finally decided that the group will wait for a couple of days to see if Brahmah returns. While they wait thought they decide to get as much information gathered as they can get.

Talks with the elves goes great as they have a little bit of information to give out. You are able to find out that the fort or hamlett that you seek is a weeks travel from here and to the east. It is a newly built small little place that is trying to get itself established as a good place to live. It is rumored that the hamlett is trying to live in as much harmony with nature as possible.

The leader elf is also to be found at the entrance to the magical warded area that leads to the house. He is sharpening one of his swords and anyone that talks to him will find that they would be honored to join the Chosen in thier fight.

Granny stays in her house for most of the time that you are there, though she does venture out into the garden area to work with her plants. She makes herself available to any of the Chosen that have questions for her.

------------------------------------------------

Library of Magic.

Brahmah soon finds himself being jerked from the magical circle that he stands in, to another room. The man that is taking him does not move from the spot that he is at, but taps the column with the wand again. "Please hold on." You feel another jerk as you are brought to another location in the library. The man shakes his head and rubs his tummy for a few minutes as he gets his stuff together. "One last jump." You feel another jerk as the man taps the column one last time.

Stepping out of the glowing circle he opens the door that leads into a small room, well not that small really. There are scrolls, books and maps laying all around the room. It is literally a cluttered mess and you are not sure how you or anyone else could find anything. Brahmah is met shortly after entering by a representative of all three races. A male minotaur moves slowly forward and extends a hand. "My name is Kilon and you would be one of the Chosen?" As he steps back a male centaur steps forward and extends his hand to Brahmah. "My name is Baryin, a scholar and historian for the three taur races." He backs off and lets in the last member of thier order. She is a pretty female wemic that blushes a little at Brahmah as she holds out her hand. "My name is Rytha and you would most likely be Brahmah." She looks around and arches an eyebrow at Brahmah. "The others??" The other two historians look around and seem to take in the situation with patience, though they both speak at the same time. "Where the others delayed?...or did you need to check us out first?" They do not seem to be offended just curious.

Ammendment. (DM Jim)
Wednesday March 9th, 2005 1:19:28 AM

Well I was unable to modify my post so here is something that I want the group to have.

1500 XP for the last battle with the bounty hunters. It has taken me awhile but I finally got it to you. :)

Gecktar
Wednesday March 9th, 2005 2:56:48 AM

The day after the dream Gecktar stays in comtemplation and prays Domi. He is meditating about all that happened and tries to get insight about it.
Later he will take the Heart of Domi and offer all willing it an office in the name of their Mighty Father (he will do it even if alone...)

(OOC to DM Jim: XP received will be sufficient for Gecktar to level up. May Gecktar level up now or do you want him to wait for a while)

(OOC to Sam : same as Ceil. I'am well placed to see how our wand are used in combat and the charges aren't infinite. So keep the healer kit and the beads too.)

Flat-top
Wednesday March 9th, 2005 4:59:31 AM

"You right Leets, I was teasing Kale."Smiles at every body, "Let us give the Captain a day or so, He must have had a diffrrent Dream that he could not over look. Then we'll set off to this city that need our help. I better get my mussels in tune."

Off goes Flat-top lifting rocks, running, Pratices his archery and sharpening his swords. He's getting ready for what ever that will be needed.

OOC: Not Flat-top, he still need !,233 Xpoints to go up to 8th level.

Toros
Wednesday March 9th, 2005 7:11:48 AM

Having the chance to have some break (or perhaps the silence before the storm), Toros reflects on what has happened recently, which has been a great experience for him and his friends. He has started to come to understand how he can be of the most help for the Chosen. He feels happy for his life, for his destiny, feeling a purpose for his living.

(OOC: Toros also should be becoming a level six Chosen, heeeeeeeeeeeeeey!!)

Kale
Wednesday March 9th, 2005 9:09:02 AM

while everyone is looking for info, Kale asks the elvin captain "Why would you go with us? This isnt your fight."

OOC- im only 250 ex pts from advanceing, someone nominate me for a hero point!

Sam- OOC
Wednesday March 9th, 2005 9:10:51 AM

ok, as far as the treasure goes, ill keep the healer's kit and the 2 sets of beads, then sell the rest. im going to re-activate my post in the catacombs to get this done.

Toros
Wednesday March 9th, 2005 9:56:39 AM

OOC: I definitely nominate you then Kale. You are my hero!

Brahmah (hps 59/83)

Wednesday March 9th, 2005 10:11:56 AM

"The others... delayed?" He pauses, slightly confused. "No, last I saw, most were sound asleep. I'm here on my own. They don't know I'm here."

He rubs his neck and sits down. "Um, this may sound arrogant of me.... but is there in the prophecies of Domi, um, I mean, are there passages that state that a certain leader will see the unity of the taurs?
I mean to say, um ask, is there a prophecy about the current leader of Domi's Chosen? I mean... uh, well.... um...." He's really uncomfortable asking such questions, not knowing how to phase them to the intelligent folk here. "...about me?"

He looks uncertain and down-trodden, looking at his hands and avoiding eye contact. His shoulders are slumped and he hasn't eaten for days.
"I'm not sure I'm the right one to lead Domi's people to unity or the right one to lead the Chosen. I seem to cause more problems than the ones I solve. I kill taurs. I rarely save them. Not that I haven't tried. The Children of Domi are being brought into a war they didn't start!"
The mighty warrior's eyes begin to tear up and his strength fails as he begins to cry. "I kill so many."

Zeoll  d20+10=27 6d4(4+1+4+4+3+1)=17
Wednesday March 9th, 2005 3:59:19 PM

Zeoll spends the day talking with the elves and playing with Croc. Wrestling alligators is good exercise!

He is glad that the elf fighter is willing to come along. Zeoll spends some time with him and tries to get a hunch about the fellow. They talk about places they have been, things they have seen. "I am glad Domi advised us to look forr allies."

[Sense Motive check 27 on this elf. And what is his name?]

He tells the elf and granny about the village called One that they visited recently, where all three Taur races lived in harmony with humans too. This village reminds Zeoll of the place they are headed. He asks, "What is the name of this Forrt Hamlett that we seek?"

Speaking of allies, Zeoll sends an Animal Messenger (the spell) to his new friend Tash in South Harbor. Just that all is well and she should be of good faith.

Zeoll also casts three Goodberry spells, gaining 17 berries. They might come in handy on the road.

In the morning, Zeoll helps the group get everything ready to go. He hopes that Brahmah is back, but if not, he leaves word with the elves to let Brahmah know where they are headed.

Zeoll also asks Mikal to give news of them to the Librarian. Or if Mikal wants to come to Forrt Hamlett, then maybe Zeoll can send word to the Library through the elves?

[OOC: Sam, thanks for taking care of the treasure! You're the best!]

[OOC: Since Zeoll is not leveling, I'm not sending a PC sheet, unless you want one, Jim!]

Leveling Up. (DM Jim)
Wednesday March 9th, 2005 4:15:33 PM

Ok, editing of posts still does not seem to work. This is giving me fits. :(

Gecktar - Go ahead and update as needed for your new level. Send it to me and I will look it over and when I say so you can use the newest level. That should come with one of my posts. :)

Toros - Go ahead and level up as well. I am afraid to say that you will need to wait on the PrC. As long as you do not have all the requiremtents before you take it, you cannot. You would need to have had Great Fortitude already. Otherwise I would say that you have met all the other requirements. Sorry.

Solgrin
Wednesday March 9th, 2005 6:39:49 PM

Solgrin spends the day studying his spellbook.

OOC: Solgrin is only short 225 exp for 6th level.

Kanchana
Wednesday March 9th, 2005 7:02:20 PM

Kanchana will help granny with her garden. She will ask granny about the village the Chosen will be going to, and how the people are that live in the village. She will spend most of her time speaking with granny, since of all the Elves it is granny that Kanchana feels she can relate the most to.

If Kanchana does have an opportunity to talk to the Elf leader sharpening his sword she will listen to what he says about combat. Kanchana will admit that she hopes to be able to parley with the attackers and settle it all without bloodshed if it is at all possible. She will add that if the aggressors won't listen to words then defensive battle might be the only recourse.
She is happy to hear that the Elves would be honored to stand beside the Chosen. Kanchana asks him why.

Hopefully when the Chosen set out towards the village in a day or two they will be better prepared to meet whatever challenges they will face.

Kanchana hopes that if Mikal comes along that the wagon and the mules remain behind. They seem to be an unnecessary burden to her; not to mention the wagon slows down travel.

Happenings Around the Area, 1. (DM Jim)
Wednesday March 9th, 2005 10:39:54 PM

Granny's House

Gecktar takes the time to pray and meditate as they wait for Brahmah to return or the group to decide to leave on thier own.

Flat-top takes the time to exercise and get some of his muscles back into shape. He was not happy with his condition in the last battle and plans to be in better shape for the next one.

Toros spends his time reflecting upon the past happenings and finds that he now has a purpose in the Chosen. It seems that this has maybe opened a lot of eyes.

Kale spends his time talking to the elf captain to see why he would help out the taurs in a fight, after all it is not thier fight.

Zeoll spends his time wrestling with his crocodile, which makes some of the elves wonder about him. He also talks to the elf captain when he gets the chance as he is curious, like Kale, as to why they would endanger themselves to help out. He also will make an appearance to talk to Granny and tell them of the village that they ran into with the peaceful races. He also asks some questions of Granny.

Solgrin studies his spell book as he has a little time. He does wonder about Plateau City and wonders when they might get there.

Kanchana spends her time with Granny or as much as she can. She joins in the talks with Zeoll and Granny when they talk of this hamlett and other things. She is also able to question the elf captain as to his combat tactics and see if he prefers to talk than fight.

The elf captain looks to the three Chosen as they come to talk to him. He sets aside his swords as he speaks to them. "My name is Talig by the way well Captain Talig actaully." He ponders the question of fighting with the Chosen for alittle while and then speaks again. "Some of it comes down to protecting my own race...for the war will spread of that I am sure. It is more than that though as I know what it is that you try to accomplish and the size of the obstacles that will stand before you. When the war comes though we will stand by your side...as a soldier I have sent hundreds to thier deaths and killed hundreds more, but never have I killed an innocent." He smiles as he states that last fact. "I find that the innocents are in need of my skills from time to time...any race should have the help that they need, it makes no difference to me. Besides, thier is nothing good to come of Marteaus winning anything." He picks back up the sword as he goes back to sharpening it. He nods to Kale in understanding. "I can understand your suspicion and though my group cannot go with you to the hamlett, we will meet again. I am sorry if I gave you that impression, but we must see Granny back to elvenlands...as that is what we were originally paid to do when she had seen the Chosen." He smiles as he turns his head to regard the groups druidess. He knew what she was by her attitude and the way she moved. "Ahh, battle tactics...in the best of times I would love to use diplomacy to solve issues, but as a soldier I cannot do that all the time." He thinks back to a fight that just happened and shakes his head. "I was glad that I could stop the slaughter of both your group and the other one...it is still bad that three had to die though, but maybe they will want to come back." He smiles again as he slides the stone over his sword blade. "I think that you may have found another ally in that bounty group...though it is only a feeling." As the Chosen move off to do other things he smiles and nods his head, yes agreeing to help them was a good idea.

Granny listens to Zeoll as he talks of this town that the races are as one. She smiles at the idea and nods. "There was a rumor within the elven network, but noone was sure." As other questions are asked she puts voice to each one. "This hamlett does not have a name yet as it is just getting established. As to its location that would be to the east about a weeks travel from here. I was there once a few days back and they do have problems but a druid is helping out as best he can. Still it seems that nature itself is after the city for some reason an even the druid is unsure why. My divinations tell me that something important is to be found there for a lot of people." She goes back to messing with some of the herbs in her garden as she listens to the talks. "The people of the hamlett seem to try and build their little place with nature in mind. The druid has shaped many of the trees to make a wall for the hamlett. He only allows those trees that are dying to be taken for use and teaches the folks of how to live with nature and what she can provide. Mother Wold is revered there for her gifts as well as her kind nature. Though it is mostly a human population there are some of the other races living there, some that even I would not have believed would be able to. You will see what I mean when you get there though." She mulls over her next words with care as she looks to Kanchana. "I believe that you would be proud of them GreenWitch as they try very hard...maybe you can teach them a thing or two as well." She can see great things for this GreenWitch and she will find some things out very soon.

Mikal mopes around as he listens to the talks of the elves and Chosen. He knows that he cannot go with them and that makes his mad. "Just don't know why I could not go...but I know they will not let me." He rants as he walks the border of the invisibility area.

Library of Magic

The three taurs listen to Brahmah as he speaks and then leads him over to a chair built for a minotaur to sit in. As the real meat of the matter comes to the front the three scholars look to each other and shake thier heads. Finally it is the liontaur that speaks up. "There is not mention of a leader by name in any of the histories till the time comes for that leader to fulfill his destiny. Your doubts are to be expected and that shows that you worry about your Chosen." She looks to the other two scholars who nod as she smiles to Brahmah. "This war may not have been started by taurs...but it has been going on for decades. All of the suttle ways of war are there, from assassinations to treaty violations. You say that you have killed a good many taur, but how many of them were serving the other side. Do you think that they did not make a choice as you did. Some have chosen to serve Marteaus directly, while others have chosen to serve thier own needs; be it greed, revenge or even another personal whim that noone can understand." She lays a hand upon Brahmah's hand as the minotaur scholar gets up and orders some food. "You are not alone really...do your friends lean upon you for support in times of trouble and thus you should lean upon them for support. In the end of it, you must choose to take on the title of leader of the Chosen. Domi has faith in you that is for sure otherwise you would not have made it this far...he just gives you the ability to grow and make mistakes as we all do. Listen to your true heart and not the doubt that Marteaus would want you to listen to." She touches his chest where his heart would be at and pats it. "What do you believe in...the safety of all three races?...the ability of all those around you to live in a time of peace?...the will of our god Domi?...the ability of your friends to see you for what you are and accept that?" The centaur clears his throat as he speaks up. "We have been keeping an ear out for the Chosen's deeds...in fact we trust your leadership so much Captain Brahmah that upon your return we are going to entrust you with something of the greatest value to the taur races as a whole." He says no more on it at this time but you have the feeling that these scholars all see something inside of you that more than makes you worthy of the mantle you doubt.

The minotuar scholar comes up behind Brahmah and lays a tray to the side on a small table. "Eat and think upon what has been said here today." He takes a seat across from you as he hands out mugs of hot tea to the other scholars. "Take heart good Brahmah...for we four believe in what you are doing and you will grow beyond your doubts...take heart for Domi as well sees great things from you and the other Chosen." They all sip thier tea and eat little cakes as they let you get a handle upon yourself.

No need for character sheets unless you have leveled up and want to take care of it now. Be advised that if you wait I will not be allowing the use of your newest level till you do and turn in a sheet.

Brahmah (hps 59/83)
Thursday March 10th, 2005 1:33:17 AM

Brahmah wipes his eyes and sips the tea. "How long can I stay here? Or do I have to leave?"

"What do you mean.... upon your return we are going to entrust you with something of the greatest value to the taur races as a whole.?
When will I return? Do you wish to see the others too?"

Kanchana
Thursday March 10th, 2005 2:07:50 AM

Kanchana will smile when granny says that she thinks Kanchana can teach the people of the hamlett a few things.
"I don't know Little Mother, I am an herbalist and a healer by trade. I would think that is knowledge they would already have?"

After a day and a night has passed Kanchana will make ready to leave for the hamlett. Hopefully she (and the Chosen) will have a map or otherwise very good directions for finding the hamlett!

Solgrin
Thursday March 10th, 2005 4:11:45 AM

Solgrin readies himself to head out first thing in the morning. Solgrin tells Rozca "get some hunting done tonight so we can leave in the morning."

Kale
Thursday March 10th, 2005 9:48:06 AM

Kale nods at the elf's response and moves on to get the magical treasure identified.

Flat-top
Thursday March 10th, 2005 10:08:29 AM

Flat-top goes to Granny asking her if she want him to trim the bushes and remove some boulders out of the way. "Do you have any other heavy work to be done, Granny?"

Gecktar
Thursday March 10th, 2005 4:18:14 PM

Gecktar will wait and prepare himself to go to the threathened city

Toros
Thursday March 10th, 2005 6:10:11 PM

Toros also gets ready for the journey and the upcoming fight for the fort hamlett.

As Brahmah has not appeared yet he has started to wonder what the Captain has been doing until this time. If Brahmah does not come back, or let the Chosen hear from him that he is OK in a soon time, Toros will really get worried, and look for ways to find relief for his worries before anything else.

Happenings Around the Area, 2. (DM Jim)
Thursday March 10th, 2005 10:51:54 PM

Granny's House

The group go about there business as they make some preparations to move out in the next day. Granny provides the Chosen with a three day supply of goodies that they can eat on the way.

When Kanchana asks Granny what the hamlett will or could learn from her, Granny just smiles. "You will teach them compassion for others and to think things through....you will see." She looks to her herb garden and smiles as she nods. "Do you need to resupply your healing herbs?" She will help Kanchana harvest some of her herbs that will help with bleeding, swelling, headaches, pain and other normal ailments. Granny will also supply busy work for any of the Chosen that see a need for it. She has a little gardening that still needs to be done, hedges to be trimmed, berries to be picked and nuts to gather from tree and bush.

------------------------------------------------

Library of Magic

The three researchers look to Brahmah and shakes thier heads. "Till that time...out package will be a mystery and yes you will be back here." The minotaur looks to Brahmah and nods as he listens to what the centaur says. "He is right...we have not even discussed what it is that you are being called to do...but there is time to stop Vargas from getting the black weapon."

The female wemic stands and moves over to what appear to be a doorway built into the wall, but you see not opening or way to open it. "The Chosen have need of thier leader, if you choose to be that. Where they go now will be a great challenge to the whole group, but something is stirring that will change the face of the Wold." She looks to the other two scholars and they nod in approval. "What you find there will help in what is to come and make you stronger to face Vargas." She pulls up a sack that she had been laying off to the side and holds it out. "You will also have need of these robes...all will become clear when you get to the hamlett." She smiles as she looks to Brahmah, searching for something in his face and eyes. "More people have need of you than just the taurs...and next time please bring all the Chosen to see us...it is not often you get to meet legends to be." She blushes as she says this last bit as she had not meant to say it. She moves forward and places a kiss upon Brahmah's right cheek, then catches herself and blushes more.

A portal opens in the archway of the makeshift doorway and you can see the road that you traveled to get to Plateau City. It appears to be right beside the area that leads to Granny's house.

Zeoll
Thursday March 10th, 2005 11:17:27 PM

In the morning, Zeoll is impatient to be off.

"Come frriends! It is time to deparrt."

He does his best to get everyone on the road.

Toros
Friday March 11th, 2005 12:03:51 AM

"Zeoll, we are being late, and have to depart; but I also would like to wait for Brahmah a bit more, if noone would object... I wait a couple of more days and catch you up on the road with the Captain. I hope one of our Elf companions can wait with me, and lead us to the Fort Hamlett after your departure."

If someone tries to make up his mind to depart together Toros will reply the following.

"Yes I cannot object to what you say, but on the other hand I also have started to worry about Brahmah and want to make sure that he is OK... He has even not totally recovered from the Kayleb yet..."

Kanchana
Friday March 11th, 2005 1:32:36 AM

Kanchana is ready to go and she won't be waiting any longer. It seems that Brahmah was either Called to do something else, or he will find them again later.
"Toros, Brahmah is actually rather good at taking care of himself. Father Tomi will lead him back to us. He may not even return here, but met us nearer the hamlett."

Kanchana talks to granny,
"yes I need to replenish my supply og healing herbs Little Mother. Thank you for elping me to get that done."
Kanchana will help harvest and prepare the herbs.

Gecktar
Friday March 11th, 2005 2:21:02 AM

In the morning when Gecktar wakes, he inquires the other Chosen about Brahmah.
As noone has seen him he really begin to worry about him.

"Well, does anybody has any idea of what Brahmah is doing ? Maybe he is in danger ?"

Gecktar approves Toros : "I will stay with you my friend to wait for our Captain."
"I think Brahmah is a good tracker and has some skills in survival. We will catch you on the road to the hamlet." does he add to the attention of other.

Flat-top does the chores that Granny wanted done, including the harvest of the fruit trees.

Flat-top bring back the last of the veggies, when he hears what Toros and Geiktar are talking. "Why wait for Brahmah? Look into the Sky!" Flat-top points toward the north east, there is Paw'Caw flying lazy eights in the sky.

"We better get ready! I cannot wait for the Captain to yell at me again, it's been too quiet around here!" Flat-top give the last of the veggies to Granny, Kisses her on the cheek.

Flat-top joins the others.

Cayzle OOC
Friday March 11th, 2005 1:48:48 PM

I say sell it all and split the cash!

Dominic OOC
Friday March 11th, 2005 3:39:59 PM

I say don't there are some items that are usefull for the groups spellcasters, the majority is not usable by the casters. some of the items some have expressed and intress in.

Eunice OOC
Friday March 11th, 2005 4:29:42 PM

I still say keep the mundane healing items. The group will need these. Combat occurs far too often for us to be able to afford to give away or lose any healing items. Magic healing is too expensive to replace often, and the de facto "healers" in the group have been forced to burn through wand charges to heal characters faster than butter can melt on warm bread.

The other thing is that there are members of this group who seriously do need to increase their AC. As we all know only warriors can do this cheaply. As we all know all too well currency is few and far between in this game; therefore when treasure actually yields something useful usable by non-warriors it needs to be taken advantage of rather than converted straight to small amounts of cash.

So when protective items come up those who have greatest need of them should have the right to make a claim to them - this concerns primarily spellcasters who cannot use any conventional armor.

Now if we used a buddy system where a warrior was paired with a spellcaster where they had a primary duty to protect each others' backs first, and then the group as a whole secondary - and everyone always did this correctly in conflict situations, maybe then we could then sell everything and split the cash? (except healing items; obviously combat will not dry up and go away, and therefore neither will the need for healing items)

Ceil OOC
Friday March 11th, 2005 4:30:35 PM

That's alright for thr magic users, Dom. there is nothing in there for Fighters. As long that its equal division.

OOC Eunice
Friday March 11th, 2005 4:55:06 PM

Oops! I forgot to add that if Solgrin took the ring (and he is the one who would get the full benes from it) then he gets nothing else this treasure division. Whatever value is above the amont everyone else gets this time could be carried over to the next treasure division, meaning that he would either get little or nothing until the values equal out. In this way it should all balance out; if you do not count the value of what everyone already owns from before this treasure division of course.

Jay B (OOC)
Friday March 11th, 2005 6:15:47 PM

OOC: Sam misquoted the value of the axe, should be 8310gp.

Brahmah (hps 59/83)

Friday March 11th, 2005 6:29:15 PM

Brahmah thanks the sages, hefts the sack up and makes for the portal. Stopping, he looks back. "Thank you. We will return in haste when our task is done." He winks at the female wemic and runs through the gate.

He is soon sitting on a stump, just across from Granny's house, down the road slightly. He waits to be noticed.

Solgrin
Friday March 11th, 2005 7:23:42 PM

Solgrin looks to Zeoll then says "I am ready to go."

Solgrin tells Kale "I would like to claim the rod that was recovered. I see that as more usefull at the moment even though the ring would be great. I think my spells would be better use with the enhancement that it can give."

Zeoll
Friday March 11th, 2005 9:08:56 PM

Starting out on the road, Zeoll is glad to see the Captain waiting. He calls out behind himself, "Come on, you slowpokes! Brrahmah and I arre waiting forr you all! Time's a-wasting!"

He chuckles at his own joke.

A Start of a New Trip. (DM Jim)
Friday March 11th, 2005 10:51:49 PM

The group makes their final preparations and then steps back out on the road to travel east. A familiar form is waiting for them on the road, siting on a rock.

The Captain of the elves comes out and smiles to the group. "I have decided to send three of my men with you. They will make sure that you get to the hamlett safely and I hope that you will take care of them as if they were your own." Standing not far away are three of the elves that you have seen around camp; a female and two males with well crafted bows. Each bows to the group as they wait for the signal to move out.

Granny also comes out to see you off, but you notice a tear running down her face. It appears that she does not get company often and has enjoyed the Chosen's stay. Old Koot is standing right next to her though with an arm over her shoulder. She is also waving to the group as they start on thier journey.

Mikal has taken the wagon and started out on his final leg to Plateau City. "I will let the scholars know that you will return to see them soon. I will also let them know what it is that you are off to do." He gets a whimsical look upon his face for a second but lets it pass as he has a duty. "Wish I could go...but my duties are elsewhere." He waves to the Chosen as he moves the wagon down the road and away from the Chosen.

Toros
Saturday March 12th, 2005 1:10:04 AM

"Thank you Gecktar for accompanying me to wait for Brahmah! I hope we do not need to wait for long... Can you see Paw'caw as well... Its master should be close to here. Lets say good bye to our companions and hosts, and hello to our Captain."

Toros feels very happy to meet Brahmah again, although he does not hide that he has been a bit worried about captain's absence. "It is nice to see you again Captain! We have started to worry about you, is everything all right with you?"

OOC:

Thank you Cayzle for the gold from the W pelts and information for the X points!

For the healing wand, does the group have a spare one that Zeoll or Toros can use? If I do not remember wrong, Kenicha used to have one before. Also there were lots of CLW potions identified by Taric on January 20th, 2004. Do you know what happened to them?

Also I wonder what is the worth of the "2 strips of beads runes of old high woldian on them"

Kanchana
Saturday March 12th, 2005 6:04:16 AM

Kanchana grins a little bit at Zeoll's comment. She has been ready to leave for awhile.

Kanchana tells granny good bye and also tells her that she hopes their paths will cross again sometime in the future. She knows that Koot and granny will have lots to chat about once the Chosen have left.
During the journey towards the hamlett Kanchana will travel parallell to the road (or path), walking in the woods. If she comes across any interesting or useful plants she will stop for a minute or two to study them; or pick any plants she recognizes as useful for her herbal kit.

(Toros there are no extra wands right now. The items that Kenisha and Taric had followed their characters if I remember correctly. I don't know what happend to the potions, but it is highly likely that they were either sold or claimed by some one. The beads are being kept in case we need them for the hamlett scenario. DM James can probably tell you what they cost.)

Flat-top
Saturday March 12th, 2005 8:26:00 AM

Stand by Kanchana waiting for all the good byes. He will step up to kiss the cheeks of Grannie and Koots "Not to worry We'll be back some day I hope." Turn to Kanchana "Come, Time to leave!"

With out looking back, Flat-top trots to the road and to the Captain of the Elves, He salutes him.

As Flat-top advances towards Brahmah, "I think we have company (with his thumb the center points at the three Elves), Where do you want us to be in this line up?"

Zeoll
Sunday March 13th, 2005 10:08:34 AM

"Ah! The open rroad beckons! Come, Chosen, adventurre awaits! We have a hamlet to rrescue, monsterrs to slay, frriends to make, and life to live!"

Zeoll looks to his side at Croc. "And rraw meat to swallow, rright, boy?"

With a bounce in his step, the bard leads the group out. He starts singing as he goes:

With Domi's blessing, come along!
With elfish wisdom, step this way!
With taurric frriendship, join the thrrong!
With joyful spirrits, don't delay!

[OOC: Zeoll volunteers to carry a wand of healing and take care of folks for a while! And with this most recent treasure, maybe we should buy another party wand before we split the proceeds.]

Brahmah
Sunday March 13th, 2005 10:51:25 AM

The Captain of the Chosen seems alot happier than the last few months. He smiles and carries a bag the group has not seen before.

"Yes, its great to see you all too." He laughs. "I had to get away and get some answers to a few questions."

He points out the sack to the Chosen, "The three sages at the Library of Magic told me we'll need these robes when we reach the hamlet, and that we'll know why when we get there."
Brahmah continues, "We will return here after we've gone to the hamlet. Let's move Chosen." Little doubt seems to remain in the leaders mind and he's quite intent on this current mission.

Leets
Monday March 14th, 2005 2:46:13 AM

"Oh! A library! I wish I could have got a look! There are so many things I would like to search about!"

Gecktar worries are washed away when he sees Brahmah. "Happy to see you in good health Captain, and again smiling."
"Now that all Chosen are here let's go to this hamlet." he adds more for himself than for the other.

(OOC : who has interest for the two major items (the battle axe and the ring) ? If nobody cares for one (or two) of them maybe selling one (or two) will help us to divide the loot)

Brahmah OOC
Monday March 14th, 2005 7:25:05 AM

OOC: As always, I'd prefer selling ALL the items, (exceptions being the potions and any wands), so that EVERYONE gets an equal share.

However, if no one is willing to sell everything, and split the loot item by item, I suggest that an arcane caster receive the ring and that a fighter receive the axe.

Brahmah is mildy (about 25%) interested in the axe.
Personally, I don't care either way, as long as there is no major disputes.

Kale
Monday March 14th, 2005 9:25:41 AM

Kale, as always, leads the party away from the village, though he does have to confer with the elves as to which way they should go.

OOC, ill go ahead and take a vote. tell me if you want to split the treasure up or sell it. it doesnt matter to me either way.

(OOC Eunice - treasure division yet again)
Monday March 14th, 2005 2:47:43 PM

(Sam wait to hear from he spellcasters I'd say. Keep the healer's kit however. If anyone other than Kanchana also have the healing skill then the kit will come in handy as a "quick fix". I suppose no one has thought about the fact that a successful healing skill check will stabilize a dying PC, or bring one back to consciousness? It will be party equipment; and if no one else wants to carry the healer kit then Kanchana can and will.)

Zeoll OOC
Monday March 14th, 2005 5:52:22 PM

My two cents: Keep the Healer Kit as useful party treasure. Ditto the potions of restoration and anything else healing oriented, Sell the rest. Maybe buy a wand of curing as a party item for Zeoll to use (Party Item means it is not lost if the character leaves the game.)

Divide the rest of the gold evenly.

Onward and Upward to the Hamlett. (DM Jim)
Tuesday March 15th, 2005 12:28:50 AM

The group moves out having met back up with their Captain. With a lighter step Brahmah is feeling slightly better about his role. The group makes thier way across the open plateau to the east, though there is no true path to follow.

Along the sides of the road are the normal trees, bushes and large boulders but nothing else of not as of yet. Kanchana finds a few herbs along the way but nothing that she has not already seen.

Then the group comes upon a very strange sight, having travel only a few hours on the path east. Sitting in the middle of the road is a rather large dog, no it is a wolf. As the group draws closer you notice that said wolf stands at least four feet tall and would be around five feet long. Though it is sitting in the road, it's three heads seem to be having a conversation between themselves. It look up as the Chosen get closer but makes no move to move.

Kanchana finds a strange large leaf to the side of the path though that she finds very interesting. As she gets closer she notices that the chlorophyll in the leaf has come to the top in several places to spell out something upon the face of the leaf. The leaf is large, at least a foot long and six eight inches across, and growing up out of the ground with a bunch of other leaves just like it.

Kanchana
Tuesday March 15th, 2005 4:20:34 AM

While there are no roses along the way to smell, Kanchana does stop to read the leaves!
She even takes out her notebook to write down the letters.
Kanchana probably doesn't notice the three-headed dog.

Many of the plants don't seem to 'jump' out at Brahmah, however, the strange leaves and three headed dog, the cerberus, certainly catches his attention. Brahmah had only encountered someone in his travels once before that said he had met a cerberus just like this... the man looked awful strange with one arm and a pegleg.

"Um, Chosen, this one might not take kind to interlopers on his territory. Move quick."

He moves up slowly, hoping to move on quickly. "Cerberus' aren't often seen by the living. Are you lost my canine friend. Can we be of service to you?"
(Spot 28, nat 20 to see if the beast might be hurt. Ouch! Sense Motive 2, nat 1 to see if its plotting against us.)

What attracts the attention of Toros on the road is the three-headed wolf that is talking to itself. Hesitantly, he comes closer to 90 ft of it, and starts performing a whistle melody to fascinate this strange creature.

(perform check, 14+5=19)

OOC: Thank you for the information Kanchana.

For the loot we can sell the treasure and distribute evenly the amount from sale. However if Solgrin does not want the rod to be sold and the strips of beads will be kept for party use we should also appreciate these as well.

Brahmah (OOC)
Tuesday March 15th, 2005 9:23:59 AM

OOC: It would wonderful for the group to know which items are considered 'group items' and who is carrying them. Including healing items.

For instance, Kanchana has at least two healing wands and a healers kit. Several Chosen have potions.

Can we please have a list of items each of us are carrying?

Brahmah is carrying certain items he'd consider group items even though he purchased them.

taur sized manicles
box of fruit and small amounts of other stuffs
Scrolls of Magic Fang, Endure Elements, Calm Animals, Pass Without Trace
Oil of Magic Weapon (3)
Wand of Speak with Animals (46/50 charges)

... all these items Brahmah is willing to share if it can further Domi's cause.

Remember, we're in this together.
Perhaps each of us that are skilled healers, should have a healers kit.

Toros - OOC
Tuesday March 15th, 2005 10:02:46 AM

Toros is the group's weaponry, as you may recall from Brahmah's last Kayleb. In addition he has:

magic weapon oil,
bless scroll, endure elements scroll

Neutralize poison potion
CMW potion (taken from Mikhal)
CLW *3 potion (This is what I assume to have from the potions that Taric has identified in Jan, 20, 2004. I think these were also thought as group items, and they were neither sold or claimed.)

Except that nothing to mention much really, but Toros will soon do his first visit to Catacombs and get some items useful for himself and the group.

And does anyone remember anything about the (CMW?) healing wand that Kenicha had been using - was it her personal item or party item? If it was the party item wouldn't it make sense that the party has kept it until her return?

Toros - OOC Addendum
Tuesday March 15th, 2005 10:12:21 AM

Oh and Toros has 2 healer kits that he always forget, and artisan's tools that even he does not know yet for what craft.

on seeing the 3 headed wolf, Kale draws his bow, but does not fire. he asks one of the elfs "What is that?"

OOC i have saved the healer's kit and the beads. ill save the 2 potions of restorating, and ill sell the rest unless someone tells me they want a specific item. then ill divide up the gold evenly, minus the cost of any item anyone wants to keep. let me know by tommrow if anyone wants to keep anything.

Kale doesnt have any party items

Kanchana (ooc on party items and healing)
Tuesday March 15th, 2005 12:14:58 PM

Kanchana only has the one CMW wand from Gargul that is an actual party item (the other one Gecktar has; and it is of course a party item as well).
Everything else Kanchana has is in fact her own, but she does as a matter of fact use her items for the good of the party when the need arises.
Otherwise Kanchana will be relying on considerably cheaper mundane healing types whenever possible. The healing skill is severely under-used and under-appreciated.

Toros you are mixing up Kanchana and Kenisha.

Kanchana was given both CMW wands by Gargul, and she gave one of them to Gecktar to use on behalf of the party. Gecktar was the only other known healer type in the Chosen at the time.
However these CMW wands are quite "powerful" and very expensive so they need to be used sparringly - that is only in extreme emercencies IMO. The Chosen cannot afford to replace them, due to an appearent lack of funds in general.

Toros it would be great if you could remember those healers kits every so often after combat, that way there would be less wand use for "small injuries". I consider a small injury anything from 10 pts dmg and under.

DM James you should allow for time for mundane healing to take place during rest stops and sleep periods I think. This way two healers are working at once which will take care of the problem of only one healer working and not being able to heal herself/himself via skill use I would think.

The Unknown Canine. (DM Jim)  d20+16=25
Tuesday March 15th, 2005 11:30:54 PM

The leaf is the first thing that a few of the group find out of place and though Kanchana would copy the writing it does not makes sense to her. Zeoll on the other hand gets an idea that it might be a scroll, well sort of like a scroll.

The three headed wolf looks to the group as they move closer and all three heads seem to smile at the group. As Brahmah speaks up to the canine it cocks the outer two heads, on each direction. All three heads speak at once in three different languages: elven, tauric and common. "I think it is I that can help you...for my master sent me some time ago to lead your group to the hamlett." It is very hard to make out what it is saying as all three languages are spoken at once(int DC 12 to figure out one language). Leets finds nothing evil about the canine, in fact it seems that this animal would be an animal companion or the like.

The elves seem a little confused at what is going on and can only shrug to Kale's question. They make no move to attack though as the animal does not seem to be aggressive.

Toros finds his spell shruged off with the greatest of ease and the three heads turning in his direction. Once again all three heads speak in the same three languages. "Curb the zealous one or I will have to do it myself." All three heads show teeth as they look to Brahmah for his understanding of what it is they asked(anyone: int DC 12 to understand, add +2 to your roll if you managed to understand the other words too).

Zeoll casts his barkskin spell and feels a powerful lash of natural energy as he does. It does not appear to be harmful at all but something else(spellcraft DC 14).

ZeollHighlight to display spoiler: {Your spell has been effected by an outside force and is now +2Caster Level, making it more powerful.}

Wednesday March 16th, 2005 4:07:53 AM

Gecktar stops when he sees this strange beast in the middle of the path. The cerberus does not inspire him.

When it begin to speak, Gecktar clearly understand the tauric and the common speech of the beast. But this does not lessen the bad feelings he has. As soon as Toros begin his singing Gecktar attention is distracted and he doesn't understand the next sentence of the beast. But the tone is sufficient to understand that these aren't words of welcome...

"If we have to get along for a while, maybe could you tell us how we should call you. My name is Gecktar."

Gecktar watch carefully the beast trying to notice any suspect sign. (sense motive 21)

OOC : Gecktar began the game with a wand of CLW an gave it to Brahmah when he received the wand of CSW from Kanchana (see post on december 2003 the 15th). This wand hasn't be used yet so it has 50 charges left.
Other item that may be useful for the party are :
- CSW wand (35 charges left)
- Healer's kit (x2)
- Mastercraft healer's kit (x1)
- Holy water (x3)
- Neutralize Poison Potion (x2)
- Magic weapon oil (x1)
- Bless scroll (x1)
- Magic weapon scroll (x1)
- Healed Heart of Domi (taken when we left the Hearthold Keep)

Maybe the CLW wand should be given to someone that is not in first line of fights ?

Wednesday March 16th, 2005 10:04:26 AM

Brahmah barely understands the trio of talk and makes out the innuendo very clearly.
"Toros, please, this great creature is a friend, apparently. Hold the spells."

He looks back at the beast. Says in tauric, "Your master? Who is that, if you don't mind me asking?" (untrained Diplomacy 4, ouch)

Toros  d20=6 d20=13
Wednesday March 16th, 2005 10:47:46 AM

At first Toros does not understand much about what the three heads are up to, except that his fascinating song did not affect any of them. Actually he has meant no harm, just as a wemic he has cat blood in his origins, which makes him at least uneasy, when he first meets with a creature with dog blood.

Then when the three head show their teeth to Brahmah, he will call the attention of the Captain. " Brahmah, either these creatures want to eat delicious-you or they have some problem in their mouth or teeth. Perhaps, they complain about the bad smell of each other's breath... It is not easy to understand, but I think they can help us and we can help them!?"

OOC:
I have checked the potions that Taric had identified. According to Brahmah's post on Friday, February 6th, 2004 4:19:15 AM, after the transaction with the Catacombs there remain these group items - 24 potions(all have been ID'd), arrows (6 magic unidentified), magic battleaxe (unindentified), Strand of Prayer Beads (bless)...

And I guess these potions has stayed with the group since then. Even I think there were more before I get involved with the Chosen. So I think each of us can be assumed to freely possess 2-3 CLW potions. I am also thinking to give 1 potion to each of our Elf companions.

I still could not understand the value of the "2 strips of beads runes of old high woldian on them". Are they beads of force or strand of prayer beads?

Not understanding a word the beast says, Zeoll can only ask, "What did it say? I can't underrstand a worrd of it!"

He does sense that his spell is improved, and since the dog is not attacking, there's no reason to think it a threat.

"I sense that my spell is imprroved," Zeoll says. "This creaturre is not thrreatening, so that's good."

The liontaur says to Kanchana, "This leaf wrriting looks magic. But I can't rread what it says. Can you?"

[OOC: If there is a spare CLW wand around, Zeoll would be glad to carry it for the party's benefit.]

The Unknown Canine. (DM Jim)
Wednesday March 16th, 2005 11:15:42 PM

The canine looks to Brahmah and then nods all three heads. They all answer as one again in all three languages. "Master Fienz calls us Bella-Mort-Laia and we are his animal companion." All three heads smile as they cut what would pass as a bow to all the Chosen.

The canine looks to the group and then back to the east with longing. The center head this time is the only one that speaks, in tauric. "Shall we be on our way to see my master and save the hamlett?" He does seem to be in a hurry and you get the impression that he worried about his master. The third head interjects a moment, in common. "And my breathe is superb." He will keep pace with the group as they move and talk it spoken too. You find this canine rather intelligent and maybe beyond a normal animal companion.

The elves move back to flanking positions on each side of the path that you follow. They have no sense of danger from the canine and so will trust it to a point, for now.

[You may notice that the first head is female, the middle head male and the third head female as well. Each brain operates separately and it can do many things at once.]

[Spellcraft DC 12 to notice that the leaf holds a arcane spell of somekind.]

[Brahmah - You will find that you are at full hit points. An after effect of the tea and stuff given to you by the scholars.]

Gecktar

Gecktar come close from the beast. He has some strange feelings about it. Is Master Fienz the one that the Chosen must help ?

They will see in time. At least the beast will bring them safely to the hamlett.

"So Bell-Mort-Laia, may I ask a question ?... What kind of creature are you ? I never see one like you before."

...

"And about the hamlett we are heading for, could you tell us more so that we could begin to think about it"

OOC : does Brahmah agree to give the CLW wand to Zeoll or does he prefer to keep it ?
I will add 3 potions of CLW (from Toros) in my equipment if Jim agree with that.

Toros
Thursday March 17th, 2005 2:51:49 AM

Toros will visit each of the group members, including the three elves, and offer them one potion of CLW. "Please take this for in case of emergency, if you would like." He will even offer one or three? to their new guide (s) as a token for friendship and apology. However he is not very sure that this canine can use it by itself?!

During their walk Toros will accompany the elves most of the time, learning their names and backgrounds, and chatting about some common issues. Have they been to the Hamlett before, and know Master Fienz?

Toros - OOC
Thursday March 17th, 2005 6:30:50 AM

Chosen,
I am considering to get one Brahmah's Tattoo (level 0 or 1) for Toros. Do you have any suggestions about which one would be of best use to the group?

I was first thinking to take a "CLW" tattoo, thinking that activating tattoo can be accompanied with a standart attack in the same round. But now I come to think to get the "Enlarge person" tattoo.

Besides, there is a continuing discussion in the Rules Center about whether only cleric and druid "potion spells" should be allowed or not, which could influence the choice of tattoo as well. And also the mother nature seems to be favoring the druidic spells recently, or am I wrong ;-)

And, BTW, I have got 2 CMW potions from Lotto. These are also at service of the group.

Jay B (Brahmah)
Thursday March 17th, 2005 7:48:41 AM

OOC:
Just a reminder Toros...
Tattoos can only be zero to 3rd level Divine spells. Not arcane.
If the spell is a domain spell for a cleric and also arcane, I believe you can still get the tattoo.

Suggestion: Flat-top has a Cure Light Wounds tattoo. Brahmah has an Entangle tattoo.
Bless(1st level), Prayer(3rd level), Guidance (zero level)... but choose the spell Toros would choose. Don't feel obligated to the group necessarily or specifically, just choose the one one want.

Cayzle, you helped me on the tattoos, what do you think about the domain/arcane version of the spells? Can something like Burning Hands, spell in the fire domain, be used in a tat? I think, as long as its following the "Divine" spell requirement, it should be fine.

Thursday March 17th, 2005 11:11:26 PM

The great canine cocks it left head to look at Gecktar and gives a smile. It speaks in common to make it easier for all involved. "Some would call me a cerberus or three headed dog...I like to think that my ancestory is closer to a wolf than that. Now the fort is actually shaped from several trees to form the wall and all the houses that you will see. My Master had much to do with that along with the help of a few other druids. A lot of different races live there working in harmony. I guess you would say that it is a fine place to live...I like it anyways." The head on the right side looks to Brahmah and shakes it heads in wonder, before speaking in common. "Actually we do not call him much by his name...just Master or Friend mostly." The large dog is happy to keep talking about this and that though he is not sure what the real problem is at the hamlett...just that it has to do with a unbalance in nature.

Toros is able to talk to the elves in shifts but finds out little besides their names, which they find funny since they were introduced earlier. They have never been to the hamlett before but are sure that they can find it.

Kanchana is unable to make out the spell upon the leaf and as such takes it along to show to Solgrin who did not show up. Most likely he was too interested in the three headed dog.

The Chosen travel along for awhile longer and finally stop for a small bite to eat. Everyone falls out and takes shade under the few trees that are around.

While sitting and waiting you have the funny feeling that you are being watched by someone or something. Suddenly you hear laughter from nowhere and then a small person pops into view. He is dressed all in green and has pointed ears much like an elf. He looks to the Chosen and then to the big dog with a frown. "Ye be the Chosen?" He hops up on a boulder and juggles a few small coins as he does. "These be a gift from Wardd for his lucky day." The little guy smiles as he spins tossing out three gold coins to each of the Chosen. No matter what the coins end up in each persons' hand. "Now I have something else that ye need ta know."

Flip me for a change of luck.
If I smile to you I grant...another chance.
If I frown to you I grant...what you got.

If my powers you should use.
To the poor, you must be true.

The little man looks to the group and smiles again as he slowly starts to fade. "Figure out the riddle and use them wisely." He is then gone from your sight and you have no feeling that he is still around.

[knowledge(nature), (religion), (arcana) DC 14 to figure out that you just saw a leprechaun. bardic knowledge DC 14 for the same.]

Toros  d20=16
Friday March 18th, 2005 12:38:52 AM

The three tree elves would be introcuded to Toros but unfortunately the wemic barbarian ( or bard or cleric) is not intelligent enough to learn some specific pieces of information at one time, and especially he is too bad to correctly remember the names. And still even after asking for the second time he could not catch and keep their names in his mind. (DR DM JIM, honestly what were the names of the elves? :-))

Toros also feels a bit disappointed that the elves have given no sign of appreciaton for the delivery of the CLW potions. However, afterall this is ok, as Toros should not have any special inclination towards these a bit arrogant creatures, just that the Elf Captain has asked the Chosen to take care after them, and he is trying to do his best for this. So he will try one more time to start a good conversation with the elves, complimenting their arrow shooting skills, and appreciating the quality of their well-crafted bows...

Then, suddenly a leprechaun appears from nowhere. (bard knowledge check 16+2=18) He tries to catch the thrown gold pieces and makes sense of all this riddle and stuff...

No but this time it better than green beer, it's three macgical coins to help this centaur with Domi's work and help the poor.

Zeoll has no idea who the little man is, but he figures him for a fey of some kind.

"A fae serrvant of Warrdd gives us gifts! Naturre smiles on my spell casting! Magical wrriting grrows on a leaf! These are odd signs. I wonderr what they mean?"

He listens to Kale's deduction and agrees. "I bet you arre rright, Kale!"

Zeoll accepts the wand of CLW from Brahmah. "I will use this to help everrybody!"

He bows to the strange wolfhound and asks it to lead the way.

[OOC: Neat leprechaun, Jim! And thanks, Sam, for handling the treasure! 3038 gp is great! Good job!]

[Jay, see the Rules Board for my thoughts on the Tattoos.]

"Hmmm! That's what I though. To give the cold coin after use, to the poor. Nice thought." said the center to Kale, "It will endear the poor to imertate out action."

Kanchana  d20+12=29 d20+4=14
Friday March 18th, 2005 6:27:03 PM

Kanchana takes the leaf to Solgrin appearently. She holds it under his nose and says: "read this Solgrin. I think it is a spell you might know. Please copy down what it says".

Kanchana hands Solgrin her quill and journal.

Then the leprechaun shows up handing out coins. Somehow leprechauns are familiar to the wemic druidess (Know Nature 29, Know Religion 14).

Kanchana reaches into her haversack with her free hand and takes out a piece of fruit for Flat-top. She hands it to him. Kanchana will hand him another piece of fruit slightly later. The fruit is from the unusual harvest they reaped earlier when the trees went haywire.

Kanchana puts the three coins into one of her pouches. "These are strange coins," she mentions to Flat-top, "I guess they must be some sort of local coinage?"
Kanchana will ponder Kale's comment about the coins for later.

Solgrin  d20+10=25 d20+11=22
Friday March 18th, 2005 6:32:03 PM

Solgrin nods to Kale "I think your correct on the amount."

Solgrin then looks over to Kanchana and says "How can I help you my dear?" Solgrin will then look at what she wants him to examine. Solgrin casts read magic.

Solgrin will make detailed notes and translate what he reads.
