The Big Dream [CDM Jerry] Saturday March 19th, 2005 11:54:21 AM
As Solgrin casts his spell, Kanchana's pocket bursts causing the three coins to shoot in in various directions. They glow with extraordinary light and power!
The coins seem to reach out to you with invisible tendrils and minds begin to join, become one. The Chosen now is singular. One. Unified in spirit and purpose.
The area lights up with the coins and the glowing heroes. The coins begin to sing with their efforts.
Some sort of collective elven effect is at work! Yet all the Chosen are hearing what is definitely not a Taur gathering!.
As our heroes struggle to come to grips with these events, their conscious minds fade and a waking dreamlike state begins.
There is then a joining of minds. Elven minds. Minds that look at life in terms of centuries instead of years.
Nearby elves join in with this union. Some join to a lesser extent being half-elves or other relates species.
The pool of collective thought grows until it becomes Woldwide!
The overwhelming thought becomes "Why?"
An ancient being joining the mix replies, "This has happened twice before. This is the third time."
"What has happened before? comes the overwhelming response."
"This. Prepare and listen."
A common Elven Dream begins.
---------
You are floating...in space..?
You can see The Wold turning lazily beneath you, so very far below--slow but steady, the planet rotates, basking blissfully in the light of the bright golden disk hanging above it. Sunlight dapples the large fertile brown expanses of land dotted with areas of green forest...it sparkles across the waves of the blue-green ocean.
The Wold is as it is.
Suddenly you become aware that there are three smaller discs approaching the bright one, also at a slow but steady pace...you realize that the bright disk must be the sun, and the others are the moons of The Wold.
The three new discs align to cover the sun completely, leaving it and The Wold in darkness. But there--right in the middle of the now-black sun-disk--a pair eyes blink open, as though awakened from sleep.
The almond-shaped eyes--the bright, brilliant hue of sky and sea--look down upon The Wold. They widen in surprise, as though viewing the burgeoning world for the first time in a very, very long time...then the expression in the turquoise eyes grows rather sad. A tear forms and falls from one of the eyes as it blinks.
The eyes in the black sun narrow slightly--as though the unseen person to whom they belong has suddenly begun contemplating...and then the eyes blink again, once more brightening with the enlightenment of a great idea..!
The eyes glow warmly--if there were a face to go with them, you just know that it would have a happy, friendly grin in place--and The Wold, turning in its slow, steady pace, begins to grow green. Focusing on the planet, you can see that the forests of The Wold flourish and grow lush once more, spreading their fertile growth across the faces of the both the continent of Yrth and the Fragmented Lands, as the owner of the eyes laughs delightedly.
You swoop down from your lofty perch and find yourself standing in an ancient forest, Culverwood, breathing in the good green scent of the ancient trees. There is a dark, malevolent blot at the edge of your senses whom the collective knows to be Parnoth the oppressor--then suddenly, the blot disappears from sight and you hear the great beast's agonized screams.
More screams and cries ring in your ears now--the voices of those who oppose and harm Nature, the voices of those who would hold back the elves and make them lesser beings, the voices of evil. Too long they have been allowed to run free, but now they face their just reward. Through it all, the owner of the eyes continues to laugh.
The dream ends and the personal you physically awakens with laughter still ringing in your ears.
Let the Dream Sink In. (DM Jim) Saturday March 19th, 2005 10:47:29 PM
Going to let the group ponder the dream before making a post. So most likly no post till Monday.
Email - gilan_13@lycos.com
Zeoll Sunday March 20th, 2005 9:06:26 PM
The druid smiles as he wakes from a dream of Nature triumphant. "The elves. The moons. The eyes."
He does not seem to know what to say.
He looks at the elves who are with them. Were they affected? What do they say?
Toros Sunday March 20th, 2005 10:06:16 PM
When the dream begins Toros is together with the elves. He looks at them with questioning eyes, asking what is going on... Realizing that their situation is also not so much different from the Chosen Toros leaves himself to the stream of dream together with others...
When this collective dream is over, Toros starts shaking his head in order to get rid of the ringing laughter in his head. It slowly fades away.
All around, Chosen are waking up from the dream. Toros will approach Flat-Top and comment "Elven day-dreaming is a bit different from Domi's Dreams, isn't it?"
Toros cannot make any further comment or explanation now. It is too much for him now: The Elves, the three-headed dog, the Lepricon, the golden coins, the dream, before that the playing cards, the three's and all these laughters... leaving him speechless and motionless for a short time.
However he has one issue to ponder, when it is suitable. "Flat-Top, I would like to ask you a question. I mean, you have had a Tattoo, right... Is it painful to have one? I do not mind being slashed by axes or burned by fireballs, but that needle drawing on my hide..." The wemic barbarian feels ashamed to speak this out, but it is too late now!! He tries to change the topic, although still related with tattoos.
"How do you use your tattoo, Flat-top? Tap it and that's it, am I right? I saw you hitting this and that way, while tapping the tattoo and healing yourself. It was amazing!"
"And, if I get a tattoo that can also enlarge you, do you think it would be good for you to become a huge taur, even if for a short while."
While talking with Flat-top, Toros's mind continues to process the information about the dream on the road. Perhaps they have eaten something strange too much in the lunch.
Gecktar d20+7=21 Monday March 21st, 2005 3:37:46 AM
Gecktar shakes his head... He is nearly stunned by the dream he had and tries to understand the hidden message.
Mother Wold is awakening from a slumber and she will put a end to evil doing in the whole Wold ? This could be not just so simple. This should be a riddle or a sign to warn the Chosen.
There should be an eclipse, of that Gecktar is convinced, but when ? Maybe is this the first question they have to ask. Eclipse will be the sign of a begining of the war. This is what Gecktar understood. And the war will awaken migthy powers sleeping deeply in the core of the Wold. Maybe this power should be awakened... Maybe not... What will survive after this mighty power passage ?
Lost in his thoughts Gecktar realizes that all other Chosen are like him.
"Let's continue to the Hamlett" he says "maybe should we have a talk about what's hapenning"
(OOC knowledge religion 21 to recognize 'possessor' of the 'eyes')
Flat=top Monday March 21st, 2005 6:18:53 AM
Flat-top has this glazed look on his face. all he can say is "WOW!" then follow Brahmah and the rest of the party. He now has a better under standing of the pointy eared Elvs and who is this Parnorth?
Brahmah Monday March 21st, 2005 6:39:11 AM
The Chosen need non-taur help. He wakes with the thought, 'Perhaps the Wold is awakening? Maybe a nature God of sorts will walk with the other Gods of the Wold. No, not a God, maybe the Wold's Avatar?' He takes this thought only to Kanchana.
Kale Monday March 21st, 2005 12:42:40 PM
blinking his eyes after the vision, Kale stays silent on the matter. let the thinkers and spellcasters dwell on it, Kale thinks to himself, I just want to survive it.
Sam- OOC Monday March 21st, 2005 12:43:25 PM
i forgot to divide the platium we got. everyone gets 111 pps
Leets d20+9=20 Monday March 21st, 2005 2:17:27 PM
Leets doesn't feel very well after the dream. He's not used to see the grey part of the Wold. Only white and black usually. But this time, he had troubles seeing who was the bad one, and who was the good...
Bad guys seemed to die, at least malevolent ones...But were they really evil? Did they deserve such a fate? And what kind of deity could act in such a way?
Overwhelmed by too many questions, Leets will meditate, dark, in his own corner, with Managarm as his only company....
(Knowledge religion 20 to try to understand something to all this...)
Kanchana Monday March 21st, 2005 5:51:18 PM
Kanchana isn't entirely certain what to make of the dream. She just knows that there are some answers to be found in the hamlett. She also feels that Mother Wold is trying to warn everyone in the Wold about something. Perhaps things are going to change?
((Jay, I am not certain if Brahmah has decided to speak to Kanchana yet, so I will wait with any IC reactions on his thought for now.))
Solgrin Monday March 21st, 2005 6:34:00 PM
Solgrin shakes his head trying to make sense of the dream that he just had. Solgrin looks at Kanchana and the other Chosen then asks Kanchana "What do you make of the dream?"
The Time After. (DM Jim) Monday March 21st, 2005 7:49:24 PM
The three elves can be found huddled together with tears streaming down thier faces. They all seem to be at a loss for words but too happy to express themself in any other dignified manner. They seem to be only able to come up with one thing to say. "It appears that someone is coming to lead us to our glory and beat the enemies of nature in one shot...glory to the Wold Mother."
Looking to the sky you find that they stars are high in the sky, but was it not just about midday when you saw the leprechaun? The three-headed dog looks to the group and seems to have a smile upon each of it's three heads. They speak as one in all three languages at once in excitement. "That was most definitely interesting....Master will most definitely be pleased if he got this dream too." Then the three heads look to the wemics in the group and smile again, speaking all in common this time. "It was also intereting to see what being a cat feels like as well...an experience that we will carry with us for a long time."
[Will have to ask about what you may learn from those knowledge checks as I am not too sure about the dream. Let me ask and then I can post it as a pondering for those that made checks. :)]
Kanchana Tuesday March 22nd, 2005 12:27:07 AM
Kanchana looks sheepishly at Solgrin, "I am not entirely certain what to make of the dream to be honest. However I am fairly certain that there are some answers to be found at the hamlett we are travelling to."
"Did you manage to copy down what was on that leaf Solgrin? Did it make any sense to you?"
Kanchana looks around; feeling slightly nervous, because of the amount og time that seems to have passed while they were dreaming about eyes and unfamiliar forests. Kanchana also feels a budding annoyance with the strange dog; it seems giddy and "air-headed" to her. 'Must be the inbreeding?', she wonders to herself.
Brahmah Tuesday March 22nd, 2005 2:54:43 AM
Brahmah tells the Chosen his thoughts on the dream.
"The Wold is awakening? Maybe a nature God of sorts will walk with the other Gods of the Wold. No, not a God, maybe the Wold's Avatar?"
Flat-top Tuesday March 22nd, 2005 6:01:41 AM
"Do you think so? Captain?"Ask the center, "Then tell me, Who is Avatar? never heard of him before!"
Toros Tuesday March 22nd, 2005 6:42:16 AM
Toros observes Kanchana's annoyance with the comment of the three-head dog, however remains silent in order not to further the discussion.
He looks to the sky, and sees the beautiful stars, feeling very good and refreshed. Then he calls the attention of the Chosen:
"Come on Chosen, lets turn to our normal, and prepare a campsite to stay overnight! Later, we can talk about our shared dream, sitting around the campfire. Who knows, the dire things may want to join our party again, as well."
Zeoll (enhanced barkskin) Tuesday March 22nd, 2005 7:29:17 AM
The liontaur bard is eager to get moving. "Come, let us chat as we walk. Good dog, lead us to yourr masterr, please!"
But then Zeoll realizes it is full night. "Huh! How did that happen? You are rright, Torros! We betterr camp. I don't feel tirred, but we should wait forr morrning to head out."
Brahmah Tuesday March 22nd, 2005 8:31:50 AM
Brahmah smiles at Flat-top. "The avatar isn't it's name. The avatar is the representation of a God who choses to walk among us, with the mortals as a mortal, sort of. All I was saying is maybe the Wold is waking up and her Avatar will walk."
"It sounds strange, but I heard stories on the ship about how the Gods walked on the Wold at one time and how they still visit from time to time. Isn't that right Zeoll? They come here sometimes."
Kale Tuesday March 22nd, 2005 9:55:03 AM
Kale sighs at everyone's thoughs and says "Why does this always happen to us? Why cant things be simpler?" then he waits to see if the group is pressing on or camping out
Zeoll (illegal (and long!) second post) Tuesday March 22nd, 2005 10:43:53 AM
"Surrre," the liontaur says, "gods can appearr in the Wold wheneverr they want, I guess. I rrememberr verry well at the verry beginning of ourr adventurres, when Domi himself appearred in the flesh and talked to us. Kale and Flat-top werre therre."
"Flat-top, when Domi talked to us, that was an avatarr of Domi."
"It is a good omen, I think, that of those who talked with Domi, we still have with us a liontaurr, a centaurr, and a minotaurr."
"Herre, let me tell you the storry again."
Zeoll pauses and then recites with a trained bard's ability to use oration ...
Afterr trrials, we came to an underrgrround rroom on an island that had just rrisen frrom the waves. We saw a figurre frrom whom rrich, warrm laughterr came. Each of us perrceived the perrson to be the God of Warr ... and he was just exactly as we always imagined him to be. He beckoned us to apprroach him.
"Come...come, my childrren ..." The bass voice that invited us closerr did so in Taurric. "... I want to meet those who met all the differrent types of battle I sent you ... and trriumphed!"
Then Domi took my own sworrd -- this verry sworrd herre -- and blessed it himself. That was because I had been too foolish to do so earrlierr when I had the chance to invoke his blessing.
Domi spoke to me: "Therre ... you now possess an enchanted weapon. It will aid you in battle to hit and hurrt yourr enemy."
Then Domi took two holy rrelics we had brrought him -- the Hearrt of the Stag and the Hearrt of the Beast. RRevealed, both rrelics floated in midairr beforre the god. The two arrtifacts werre drrawn to each otherr in a slow but inexorrable orrbiting kind of dance, each of them whirrling arround the otherr fasterr and fasterr as they drraw closerr and closerr togetherr, until --
-- contact!
At firrst nothing seemed to happen. Then the rreunited hearrt began to glow ... faintly at firrst, but brrighterr and brrighterr still until it was as though the sun itself was shining in this underrgrround chamberr. Laughterr, even morre rrich and welcoming than prreviously hearrd, swirrled arround you, and all prresent felt the warrmth and joy of the being that had brrought us therre.
"Yes! YES! I just KNEW you could do it!!!" the voice rresounded within the chamberr as well as in ourr hearrts and heads. "I am Domi ... Imod ... Tomi ... and you arre all my childrren! You have made me prroud!"
The chamberr rrumbled and the sensation that grripped us was that of rrushing up into the airr as though to a grreat height -- and, suddenly, the chamberr we werre in seemed to dissolve away.
We found ourrselves standing atop a larrge stone dome -- in a cirrcularr arrea that was apparrently an obserrvatorry of some kind, forr as we looked arround, we rrealized we werre in the verry centerr of a new island, and that we could see forr miles arround frrom this vantage point. To the norrtheast appearred the unmistakeable coast of the Minotaurr Isle ... and to the southwest, the shorreline of Centaurr Isle. If we strrained verry, verry harrd, we could just barrely make out the faint outline of Wemic Isle upon the west-southwesterrly horrizon, even.
Then Domi spoke again. "My dearr childrren," the rrumbling bass of the god's voice brroke into ourr rreverrie, "You arre standing in the midst of the island that will serrve as headquarrterrs to you -- my chosen ones. This island will serrve as a physical confirrmation of the brridge you all will be the living embodiment of ... the brridge between all Taurrs.
"Once upon a time, I sought to crreate the ultimate warrriorr rrace -- one skilled in all aspects of warr. Thus was borrn the Taurr. I do not possess omniscience, howeverr, but immorrtal powerr. I did not rrealize that the differrent perrceptions of combat could frracturre my vision of one perrfect warrriorr into many differrent warrriorrs ... thus was borrn the Minotaurr, the Centaurr...and the Lion-taurr, who is called Wemic." A gusty sigh sounded frrom the deity.
"My Hearrt was torrn asunderr because I thought I had caused irrrepairrable damage to the Taurr, weakening that perrfect warrriorr rrace ... but you have shown me that I did not weaken the Taurr, but made the Taurr strrongerr thrrough diverrsity. Now it is up to you to prrove that all thrree aspects of Taurr can unite in spite of theirr differrences ... that all thrree make up a nigh-unbeatable forrce forr good in the Wold."
When we turrned to look at Domi/Imod/Tomi, we no longerr saw the epitome of ourr own rrace, but a larrge humanoid with a flowing mane and tail rreminiscent of a Centaurr, a brroad face and upperr body built much like a Minotaurr, and the solid strructurring of sinewy and powerrful, tawny-furrred lowerr body of the cat-pawed Wemic.
"Behold the forrm of yourr ancestorr rrace," the God of Warr bid us. "And know this: Brridge Island is to be yourr strronghold to keep and prrotect, as you arre the firrst of the separrate parrts of Taurr to begin rrealizing yourr trrue potential."
Domi told us that we would rreside on Brridge Isle and keep watch overr the rreunited Hearrt that would rremain therre.
His final worrds to us werre these. "My beloved childrren," the God of Warr intoned, "You have alrready accomplished the firrst mission that I sent to you -- the rreunion of my sunderred Hearrt. All that needs doing frrom now on is that you lead by example, following yourr conscience and doing yourr best ... togetherr."
[Compiled from Chosen of Domi posts in mid-January, 2001]
Leets Tuesday March 22nd, 2005 12:15:52 PM
Leets smiles as he hears Zeoll,
"I also remember, Zeoll, for I was called myself at the very moment Domi appeared to you..."
The Centaur looks his shield, and adds:
"And when I joined you on the newly founded Hearthold Keep, this shield was waiting for me, the symbol of my mission among the Chosen."
"We have a mission to accomplish, and our way goes through this city...The task Domi gave me is not finished yet!"
Solgrin Tuesday March 22nd, 2005 4:55:29 PM
Solgrin tries to finish copying and analysing the writing on the leaves. Solgrin will then follow along with the other Chosen.
Gecktar Tuesday March 22nd, 2005 5:10:59 PM
Gecktar listen to Zeol admiring the talent of the bard. He then will help to prepare the camp for the night
A Strange Night. (DM Jim) Tuesday March 22nd, 2005 8:48:11 PM
The camp is soon struck as the Chosen sit around and relive a few past memories and those newer to the group hear the tale for the first time.
As the night passes the group takes their turns with watch and the elves stay in the trees watching as well. It is about three hours from sunup and the last watch is at it when a thud is heard from the far side of the camp. It sounds as if something is throwing itself against a wall with great force.
Solgrin - The spell is as follows.
Highlight to display spoiler: {Elven Vision
Transmutation Level: Cleric 1, Druid 1, Bard 1, Sorcerer/Wizard 1, Witch 1 Components: V,S,F Casting Time: 1 standard action Range: Personal Target: You Duration: 10 min/level Saving Throw: Will negates (harmless) Spell Resistance: Yes
The spell grants the spellcaster elven sight. The caster gains low light vision. In addition, he receives a +2 bonus to Spot and Search, and can automatically check for secret doors when he passes within 5 feet of one. These bonuses are similar to the elven ability and does not stack with natural elven sight.}
Kanchana Tuesday March 22nd, 2005 11:17:04 PM
Kanchana hopes that Solgrin will tell her about the spell. She doesn't have much to say about the dream and omens so she is will instead listen to what everyone else might have to say.
((James, It is odd that Kanchana couldn't figure out that spell (if it is the one from the leaf) when it says that it is also available to druids and clerics. Could you explain that please?))
Toros Wednesday March 23rd, 2005 12:02:33 AM
After a nice day sleep, poor Toros cannot sleep well at night. His mind does not feel the need to sleep but think, as much as a think-tank can do. He takes the first watch, remains awake for the following ones, and finally when he manages to fall asleep, he wakes up with a thud! That bit of sleep and the sudden awakening is enough to make him dizzy for the first moments.
Forcing himself to stand up, slowly he starts moving to search for the source of that strange sound.
Leets Wednesday March 23rd, 2005 3:41:52 AM
Awaken by the strange sound, Leets quickly prepares, and will shake Flat-Top so that he checks with him what's wrong.
Solgrin Wednesday March 23rd, 2005 3:48:17 AM
Solgrin will get some rest then prepare his spells for the day. Once finsihed Solgrin spends time working on copying the spell into his spellbook from the leaves. When the loud pounding begins Solgrin will cast mage armor (uses rod) sharing it with Rozca.
Solgrin calls out to the Chosn "Brahmah, Flat-top, Leets, Kale, Toros come here I have a spell to aide you in case of battle."
When they are near Solgrin, Solgrin will cast Haste on them (using Rod)(duration will be 10 rounds on the Haste spell). When finished Solgrin willl tell them "I just made you a little faster for a short time."
Flat-top Wednesday March 23rd, 2005 7:10:25 AM
Flat-top listens and nods as Brahmah as explain about Avatars, Flat-top is taking in the picture, and is making sence to him.
When Zeoll came along to make thing clearer. retold the story of the Chosen beginings. He knew to be true because He Flat-top was there in the first dreams. Thank-you Zeoll, I just taken at face valoe."
As they advance down the road, Flat-top tell the Captain, "I like your virson better."
They stop for the night, Flat-top was asleep leaning against a tree. When he was awaken ready for a fight!!
Brahmah Wednesday March 23rd, 2005 10:05:43 AM
The ranger tells the group that there was a thump in the early morning. "We should check it out."

nodding thanks to Solgrim, Kale motions the others to stay back for a moment, then he goes towards the area of the wall where he heard the sound(listen check of 11, spot of 11, search of 24)
Zeoll (AC16, HP 46) d20+9=16 Wednesday March 23rd, 2005 11:27:25 AM
Zeoll wakes with the sound of the thumping.
He stands and casts a Guidance spell on himself.
"Come on, Crroc," he says, "let's go check this out."
He carefully moves closer to the sound, behind Kale, and tries to see whatever there is to see. [Spot check 16 with Guidance]
[Barkskin cast the previous day and has not been replaced yet.]
Gecktar Wednesday March 23rd, 2005 3:30:55 PM
Gecktar was sleeping deeply after the day they had. When he wakes up at the sound of the thud he is not armored and a bit dizzy.
Is That a Troll? (DM Jim) Wednesday March 23rd, 2005 9:46:27 PM
When you reach the area where the noises are coming from you have a shock as you see five forms throwing themselves against what appears to be a barrier. Everytime one hits it there is a blue flash and sparkle for a few minutes and then it disappears to leave the wall unseen.
With a closer look you find that all five forms are trolls, or at least you would think so. They are over twenty-six feet tall and seemingly extremely annoyed with thier currently problem.
The three elves are standing around with mouths open though they do have their bows out and an arrow nocked.
[Eunice - The leaf is like a scroll but an arcane one at that. There is no way that you could read the spell, even though there is a divine version as well.]
[Spot DC 16: Highlight to display spoiler: {Surrounding the campsite you see the beginning of a circle of mushrooms. Little blue ones with three red spots on them.}]
[Knowledge(nature) DC 16 if you pass the above check: Highlight to display spoiler: {You know this to be the obvious signs of a fae circle of mushrooms. Though you are safe from harm while inside from evil, you may not be safe from what conjured the circle. Disturbing or destroying a mushroom will also break the circles abilities, as might attacking the creatures outside.}]
Toros d20=13 d20=20 d20=19 Wednesday March 23rd, 2005 10:37:28 PM
The awakened and hastened Toros looks around just to see bigger than normal Trolls and little blue mushrooms surrounding the campsite. (spot check, 13+5, 18). His memory quickly recalls a bardic story that talks about fae circle of mushrooms (bardic knowledge check, natural 20) and spells out what he knows to others.
"We are in a fae circle of mushrooms. We are safe within, from Trolls; but please mind the blue mushrooms and refrain from attacking the Trolls, at least for now!"
Then, Toros looks around one more time carefully to recognize who could be the conjurer of this magical effect that protects Chosen and their companions. (known what to look for, a third check to spot, 19+5= 24).
Gecktar Thursday March 24th, 2005 3:09:08 AM
Gecktar shakes his head not sure of being awaken. Seeing the trolls hurting the invisible wall and hearing Toros comment he realizes that they are protected from them for now. But how long...
Not wasting time, and sure he will not find rest with twenty feet tall giants hurting a wall of force for all the night (troll aren't very cute), he decides to wear his armor and prepares for a probable fight. Five trolls are really dire enemies !!!
"These trolls are nasty beast Chosen. Even if we are safe for now" Gecktar look at Toros waiting for a nod of confirmation "this will not be true all time. Does any of you have some oil to finish them if we need to fight ?"
Sooner or later, maybe when the sun will rise in the sky the fae ring will lose its power. They have to be prepared.
(OOC: Jim, is Gecktar still level 5 ? Did you receive my character sheet ?)
Leets d20+3=23 Thursday March 24th, 2005 3:50:21 AM
Leets looks at the trolls with attention, he wonders what's happening to those things....He whispers:
"Aren't trolls considered ennemies of nature? Maybe they have troubles because of the new, well, you see..."
(Spot roll 23)
"Hey, what's that???"
Leets crouches and gets a closer look at the mushrooms...
Kanchana d20+5=16 d20+12=26 d20+12=24 d20+5=13 Thursday March 24th, 2005 5:28:15 AM
She sees the mushrooms and their unusual colorations. (Spot 16) Kanchana knows from the mushroom type that the Chosen are inside a fae circle, and that as long as it is kept whole and undisturbed they will remain safe. (Know. Nature 26) The druidess would certainly know if those creatures are indeed trolls (Know. Nature 24). She may even remember a thing or two about trolls. She does know that she has no way of successfully communicating with them as she has no shared language (that she knows of) with them.
"I think we had best wait this one out. We should of course be prepared in case the circle fails."
Kanchana prepares in case they have to fight the trolls and after she is ready for possible battle she watches the trolls uselessly slam themselves into the invisible barrier. She grins and hopes that they are stupid enough to hurt themselves by their own actions. After all even with their self-healing abilities any damage they inflict upon themselves might be a bonus to the Chosen if they have to fight the trolls.
Kanchana looks around inside their little camp to see if anything is different (Spot 13). She is fairly certain that the Elves didn't create this fae circle because they seem awfully surprised about something.
Solgrin d20+4=5 Thursday March 24th, 2005 5:59:59 AM
Solgrin listens to what the other Chosen say about a fae circle and waits to see if the creatures are able to break in.
*** Rod of metamagic lesser, extend (2/3 used) ***
Flat-top d20=20 d20=11 Thursday March 24th, 2005 6:17:28 AM
Flat-top wakes up with a start, "Hmm! What was that?" Goes over and stands behind Gecktar asking, "Odd mushrooms arn't they? Oh! Look over there, Trolls! And big one at that!"
Somebody said something about oil to controll But he didn't hear nothing else, he just went through his back pack and his saddles bags "No! I don't have any Oil! Are we in trouble??" Ask Flat-top with a grin on his face.
Kale Thursday March 24th, 2005 7:06:26 AM
backing up from the barrier, Kale says "We need to make torches. Trolls fear fire." then Kale s over to the fire and begins to light a torch.
Brahmah Thursday March 24th, 2005 8:09:29 AM
"I agree Kale, but we need bon fires too." He looks at the trolls and thinks a minute. "They might make powerful allies... assuming they aren't dangerous." He looks at Solgrin. "Prepare some flame and strike if necessary."
The minotaur approaches the dome, avoiding any sort of contact with it. He looks to the trolls. "Do you speak common?" He askes slowly. "Are you friend or foe?" Brahmah knows full well that the trolls will do what they can to get free and say what the Chosen want to hear.
Zeoll d20+8=11 d20+3=18 d20+21=28 Thursday March 24th, 2005 7:35:48 PM
Zeoll recognizes the mushrooms and is careful not to step on one. He does get close enough to call out to a Troll, "Hey, frriend trroll! Let's talk! You cannot get in, so you might as well chat!"
[Diplomacy check 28]
[OOC: Are we in the shroom circle or are the trolls? Sorry I'm confused!]
(Kanchana OOC) Thursday March 24th, 2005 8:26:07 PM
((Cayzle, I got the impression that the Chosen were inside the circle and the trolls were outside trying to get in to attack us. The spot check highlight indicates that the Chosens' campsite is inside the fae circle.))
You are correct. --Your everlovin', but quietly observing, "DM in training" Kup (Jim, hope I'm not messing something up by saying that! : )
Enraged Trolls. (DM Jim) Thursday March 24th, 2005 11:34:47 PM
The trolls for that is what they are, though a lot larger, throw themselves again and again at the field that protects the camp. This goes on for at least thrity to fifty minutes before they finally give up and take off at a great lope to the south. There had been no attempt by the trolls to speak to you and you get the impression that they were on a hunt for food. The fires did not seem to disuade them to leave either...it seemed that they knew they were safe from it for the time being.
A better inspection of the area leads to no indication of the one that did the magic that provided the circle for you. There are no footprints or other telltale signs that anykind of creature has been in the camp but the group, the elves and the dog.
Solgrin was able to put the spell into his spellbook during the night before and he has a feeling that the spell means something...a riddle perhaps that he may never solve.
Morning is fast approaching and you can see the peeking of the sun on the horizon. It seems that the excitement is over and the group hear a combined rumble of tummies.
[Morning prayers for druids and clerics lead to the following discovery from Domi and the Wold Mother...a new spell is offered.Highlight to display spoiler: {Elven Vision
Transmutation Level: Cleric 1, Druid 1, Bard 1, Sorcerer/Wizard 1, Witch 1 Components: V,S,F Casting Time: 1 standard action Range: Personal Target: You Duration: 10 min/level Saving Throw: Will negates (harmless) Spell Resistance: Yes
The spell grants the spellcaster elven sight. The caster gains low light vision. In addition, he receives a +2 bonus to Spot and Search, and can automatically check for secret doors when he passes within 5 feet of one. These bonuses are similar to the elven ability and does not stack with natural elven sight.}
[Anyone that turned in an updated character sheet should consider it approved at this time.]
Flat-top Friday March 25th, 2005 5:14:25 AM
Flat-top watches the going on with the Trolls, and when they leave the area. Flat-top utters "Did you see that? It look like they never seen us? Just as if we did not exists! Wow!" (to Kanchana) "Kitten do you have an extra apple I'm getting hungry!"
Flat-top wonders if he should step outside the circle of mushroom to gather Breackfast?

Kanchana Friday March 25th, 2005 5:49:48 AM
((James, Kup, Kanchana's updated CS is actually ready to be turned in for approval, but I am holding off for after the hamlett scenario. James of course knows why.)) ;)
Kanchana is relieved that the trolls decided to leave instead of waiting. As usual at sunrise she prays to Mother Wold and to Father Tomi. It seems at this time they see fit to explain and teach her the same spell that Solgrin learned from the leaf. Kanchana is astonished! On que everyones' stomachs rumble in chorus, and Flat-top asks if she has an apple for him.
"I think so. Let me look."
Kanchana checks her haversack, and if there are still any apples left she gives two to Flat-top.
"They were attacking thin air. I think they knew something was here for sure. Still we were lucky and I'd say that we had best start moving on early today in case the trolls decide to come back."
Kanchana is of course already ready to leave the campsite. They can eat on the road if no one needs to cook any food.
Kanchana asks Flat-top, "did you see anyone last night that looked like they made that fae circle? The Elves didn't do it and none of us know how either as far as I know."
Kale d20+7=16 Friday March 25th, 2005 7:08:17 AM
in the morning, Kale goes beyond the barrier and looks where the trolls were. searching for footprints(search of 16), Kale follows them for about 50 yards, then comes back, looking to see if the footprints are going the same direction that the group is traveling.
Brahmah Friday March 25th, 2005 7:38:39 AM
"That was odd." He says, referring to the trolls. "What was that shield they were hitting?" He asks the arcanists in the group.
Solgrin Friday March 25th, 2005 2:13:57 PM
When the trolls finaly leave Solgrin looks around then asks Kanchana "Have you ever seen a circle like what is around us before? I have not seen on like it, only arcane protection circles. I wonder if it is simular to that."
Solgrin will tell Brahmah "I have not seen a circle like this before it is more nature than arcane as far as I can tell."
Kanchana (reponse to Brahmah & Solgrin) Friday March 25th, 2005 3:34:00 PM
"I have never seen a fae circle before now, but I have heard of them."
Kanchana stoops down and inspects a mushroom closer.
"I hadn't really realized that these circles had such an immense protective ability. Sometimes they can be used to mask things within them though."
Flat-top (sceond Post to Kanchana) Friday March 25th, 2005 4:16:08 PM
"I have seen circles like these before, But never any Faes doing it. Come to think of it we were the pranks of some faes when we solved the Mystery of the Purple wine drinker. back at Centaur Island! We heard them laughing, but never seen any." relates Flat-top.
OCC: I hope uou got Flat-tops CS.
Zeoll d20+10=25 2d4(1+4)=5 Friday March 25th, 2005 7:41:56 PM
"I rrememberr those fae!" Zeoll tells Flat-top. "Therre was a little crricket-taurr, if I rrememberr correctly! A Grrig"
In the morning, Zeoll is amazed at the new spell he can prepare! He prepares two of them, in fact! He also prepares a Goodberry spell.
He picks some wild berries, then he stands in the center of the mushroom circle. He casts the new "Elf Vision" spell and then casts Goodberry!
He looks around with his Elf sight, especially at the berries and the mushrooms, wondering if anything will look different. [Spot 25]
He also counts how many berries are Good [I rolled 5].
Toros - Elves & Eggs Friday March 25th, 2005 8:20:17 PM
Feeling relief that the Trolls have left Toros finds a quiet corner for meditation to release the tension for a tough night.
While meditating he has a feeling that the common vision he had together with the Elves last day is coming back in some sort. Indeed, the Elven Vision returns to Toros's consciousness, this time without leaving any more. Toros realizes that he has learnt something that will not disappear from his mind for a long time. Enjoying this merry magical moment he quickly takes a handy note of what has just entered in his memory.
Then with regard to what he has just come to know he spells out the magical words, focusing on Domi's holy symbol. His hands need some more practice, however a beginner's luck helps him to cast "Elven Vision" on himself at his first try.
Suddenly his eyes become sharper, noticing a couple of beautifully colored Eggs very-well hidden around the little blue mushrooms with red spots.
There could not be a better start to a new day for a new level barbarian/bard/cleric wemic! Jumping on air and swinging he does a small dance performance with his hastened leggs.
"I should have had this speed and agility, when I was performing on the stage in my previous times. Thanks Solgrin!"
Then Toros goes near Kanchana and offers one of the Easter Eggs to the Wemic Druid, asking her to choose which one she likes most. Noticing that Flat-top is observing them, he also gives a big smile and the other egg to Flat-top.
Meanwhile Toros hears Brahmah's asking for information about the magical mushrooms. He gives a brief summary of the story he knows about this magic, although he does not have much to say about the arcana dynamics related with it.
He turns to Bell-Mort-Laia to ask whether they may have any idea of who could be the conjurer of the protective mushroom ring.
Finally, he will offer to cast "Elven Vision" on the large Dog if she/he/she also wants to feel more intimately how it is like to be an Elf, having just experienced the honor of feeling special as a Cat.
All this action for the morning is too much for Toros and the Lion-Taur also recalls to appreciate how it is to be feeling hungry like a Dog!
OOC Happy Easter to Everyone!
Toros - addendum Friday March 25th, 2005 8:29:19 PM
And it will not take long Toros to realize that the haste in his leggs is just a naive illusion of his mind, which quickly expires with the filling up of his tummy tank or tank tummy.
Kanchana d20+5=13 Saturday March 26th, 2005 3:44:31 AM
Kanchana will take whichever easteregg has the most green dye on it. She will thank Toros for the easteregg gift. "Thank you Toros. Is there an egg for everyone?" Kanchana glances around near the mushroom ring to see if there are any eastereggs that Toros missed (spot 13). Depending on how well hidden the eggs are she might just miss seeing them! Kanchana doesn't add the new spell to her allotment of spells today, but she has thanked both Mother Wold and Father Tomi for teaching her the spell.
Gecktar Saturday March 26th, 2005 1:30:21 PM
When praying in the morning, Gecktar feels more powes opened to him. He realizes that Domi gave him more help to continue on his quest. This is how things go. With the renewed feeling of the confidence of his god, gecktar prepare his spells and help for the breakfast.
"I think these troll where here for food. And I hope that they found something. Else we will encounter them one more time. Maybe not during the day but next night. We must stay alert."
"Now, I have another duty for the Chosen. I must know all those who where wounded by the ill dire wolves. I can cure the disease if any of you is in need. The incubation period is long and the effects will be not felt since it's too late."
"So every Chosen who were wounded have to be healed in some way"

Moving Along and Finer Things. (DM Jim) Sunday March 27th, 2005 12:32:24 AM
Flat-top inquires about some of those apples so that he can cure the hole in his tummy. He also wonders about the circle and its powers. Flat-top does remember one of thier past adventures that involved fae but is not how close that would be to this or how relevant.
Kanchana is surprised to find the new spell that is open to her and digs through her pack to find an apple for Flat-top. She suggests moving out as she knows that a trolls' sense of smell is extremely keen and they maybe still close by. Kanchana is able to tell the group a little about fae circles but not much since even she is not too familiar with them.
Kale easily can follow the tracks of the trolls as they wander off to the south. He finds that the continue to keep going that way, but he does find a large pool of blood also. It would appear that something was killed in that area and the blood is fresh.
Brahmah ponders the shielding powers of the circle and then inquires with the arcane casters about the abilities of the fae circle.
Solgrin asks Kanchana about the circle as it is more of a nature thing than an arcane one. He has seen magic circles before that did many things but this was not like any of those he had used before.
Zeoll laughs as he remembers the adventure that Flat-top is talking about. He comes up with the name grigg and describes it as a cricket-taur of sorts. He casts an elf vision spell upon himself to see what it will reveal inside the cricle or what other effects it might have for him. He also finds that five of his berries are magical in qualities after he casts his other spell.
Toros looks around himself and then casts an elf vision spell upon himself. He feels euphoric as he dances around for a few minutes before bending over to find a pair of eggs hidden by a mushroom. He offers one egg to Kanchana and the other to Flat-top if he wants it. An offer is made to the dog about the use of the elf vision spell.
Gecktar is quick to go through his morning prayers like some of the others. He then gives his opinion on the trolls as he hears his tummy rumble again. Still he offers to give healing to those hurt in the earlier fight with the rabied dire wolves.
------------------------------------------------
The elves move out of the camp in seperate directions and do a little scouting as well, though they do not go south as Kale has already gone that way. About ten minutes later they are back with news that they have seen nothing in the distance in any direction. It appears that the way is safe for the moment anyways.
Bell-Mort-Laia shakes they heads as the spell is offered and smiles. "No thank you...we are fine with our own vision." They do seem to be a little interested though as you can hear it in their voices. "Maybe at another time and when we have less riding on the situation." It seems that they are worried about getting to the hamlett safely and without trouble.
Kanchana finds another set of eggs hidden by a different mushroom and then another set. When she is finally done their are actually an egg for each of the Chosen she notices. The mushrooms seem to be nothing special except for thier coloration is odd.
Zeoll and Toros for a second feels the memories and feelings instilled during the dream come flooding back as they finish thier elf vision spell. You even seem to have a review of the dream run through your head, though it makes no more sense than before. When it is over you feel a slightly closer bond with nature for the duration of the spell. It is as if you are part of it for some reason.
------------------------------------------------
Have gotten character sheets from some of you. But only really need from those that made a new level with the past experience that I gave out. Everyone else can wait till the end of this module. No reason for extra work.
Fla-top Sunday March 27th, 2005 6:37:26 AM
Flat-top takes the egg from Solgrim, "Thank you." Turns it into his hands, wondering what kind of chicken laid this kind of colored egg??
Kanchana Sunday March 27th, 2005 12:58:39 PM
After Kanchana has found all the eastereggs she gives one to each person. She presumes that this ritual is pretty much the same as the midwinter feast festival and the strange green-clad tiny man's coin giving "ceremony".
After everyone has an egg each she will tap on her green dyed egg and listen to hear if it sounds like a normal egg or if it is "empty" sounding (hollow?). She will not shake the egg because she doen't want to break it.
Solgrin Sunday March 27th, 2005 12:59:10 PM
Solgrin looks aound ready to head off to the village that the Chosen were heading to.
Solgrin will examine the egg that Kanchana gives him.
Toros Monday March 28th, 2005 6:41:31 AM
Once more Toros is astonished with becoming one with nature and part of the elven dream. He smiles to Zeoll, noticing that he also experiences similar consequences with the casting of "Elven Vision".
Toros is also very happy that Kanchana is able to find one colorful egg for everyone.
Then he realizes the worries of Bell-Mort-Laia and others to safely and swiftly arrive the hamlett and quickly gets ready for setting off.
OOC: I am getting a bit busy finally, after two-month relaxation. Please excuse, if there would be any, low quality and quantity of my posts for the folllowing week.
Kale Monday March 28th, 2005 6:54:47 AM
Kale pockets the green egg, not realy giving it a second thought. he's more worried about trolls.
Brahmah d20+8=18 d20+8=16 d20+8=19 Monday March 28th, 2005 10:01:48 AM
Not being naturally adept at looking at mushrooms, navigation and survival is his style, Brahmah has other concerns.
Looking around and very uncomfortable with the silence, he draws his Falchion. Looking around at ground level, then at the sky for weather signs, he says, "We should not linger. The trolls may return. Collect sample if you like, but we must be off." (geography 18, survival 16, spot 19)
He collects whichever egg that isn't humming, buzzing or likely to explode (he could care less about the color). He looks at is and just shakes his head. "Strange things."

Zeoll Monday March 28th, 2005 3:54:22 PM
"Thank you, sister Kanchana," Zeoll says in wemic. He takes his egg and eats it -- raw or cooked, he likes his eggs either way! Besides, it's time for breakfast.
The liontaur agrees with Brahmah. "Come, Chosen, do let us be on ourr way!"

The Days Go By. (DM Jim) Monday March 28th, 2005 9:23:50 PM
The group finds they have to leave and put some distance from the area that the trolls were at. The eat while on the move and talk about some of the things that they have seen so far.
The group has traveled on towards their destination for three days without any problems. No strange things have happened of late, but you have seen more occurances of threes.
It is starting to get to be noon on the fourth day when you hear the sound of thunder breaking. Suddenly you feels the beginnings of drops hitting you. It appears that a downpour may start at any moment but it is just a sprinkle right now.
[Not sure but I think the eggs are hardboiled. Not sure what Tunc had in mind when he said he found two colored eggs.]
Gecktar Tuesday March 29th, 2005 2:19:05 AM
"Thank you Kanchana for the egg ? Do you think we can eat it ? Or is this some token that must be kept ?"
Gecktar examines the egg several times during the trip but find nothing strange. So he will eat it on his next meal except if Kanchana states that it is not to eat.
During the next day Gecktar worries about the trolls that may come back, so he keeps all his senses in alert. When the weather begin to worsen he says : "I don't mind sleeping outdoor but I feel better when I'm dry. Maybe could we try to find a shelter for the night ?"
Brahmah d20+8=17 d20+8=14 Tuesday March 29th, 2005 4:37:30 AM
"Damn. I just knew rain was coming, but this came on fast!" He looks at the sky. "Yup, shelter would be good, Gecktar." The ranger looks around for a nearby clump of trees or stones that the Chosen maybe able to use for shelter. (survival 17, geography 14)
Toros d20=19 Tuesday March 29th, 2005 6:03:17 AM
[eggs were tailored for each character's imagination. Treat them however you like.]
Toros tries to help Brahmah for his search for shelter. (help check, 19)
Flat-top Tuesday March 29th, 2005 6:12:35 AM
Flat-top puts his hand out to feel the few drops of rain, he goes into his saddle bag, taking out Old Kular's Cape and put it on. (this cape will cover him from head to the back rump of his body. "Yup! It's going to pour in a few minutes!"
Kale Tuesday March 29th, 2005 7:01:14 AM
Kale simply shifts his hat a bit to keep the rain out of his eyes, then continues moving.
Kanchana Tuesday March 29th, 2005 9:53:14 AM
Kanchana pockets the egg, she will eat it for her next breakfast she supposes. She doesn't mind the rain at all, but pulls up the hood of her cloak anyway. As she walks just off of the road she quietly praises Mother Wold for sending the rain to refresh the earth.
Solgrin Tuesday March 29th, 2005 6:52:13 PM
Solgrin pulls the hood to his cloak up over his fead and continues on with the others.
Zeoll d20+5=14 d20+5=19 Tuesday March 29th, 2005 7:36:20 PM
Over the three days, Zeoll wonders when the group will get to the hamlet. He questions their elf guides. Where is this place? Is it in the Culverwood? He has heard that elves live there.
As the days pass, Zeoll keeps his eyes open. Are we on a road? A path? Wilderness? Are there farms nearby? herds? wild animals? Have we seen any other people?
On the day that rain threatens, Zeoll does not mind. He just puts on his big floppy hat to keep the rain out of his eyes. Or does this rain seem special in any way? [Untrained Know(Nature) 14, Untrained Survival 19]
Strange Rain. (DM Jim) Tuesday March 29th, 2005 9:06:51 PM
The path you are on has started to grow a little wet as you stand and get ready for the downpour that is expected. There is very little wind to speak of and you see several large boulders that are clustered together nearby.
Then it hits with a fury. Rain slams into the group from all the directions but from the sky and ground. It is strange but the rain is traveling horizontally towards you propelled with some force. Everyone notices that little crystals seem to be mixed in with the rain as you are pelted and stung by them striking your skin.
A mad dash insues as the group makes it for the boulders and cover from the stinging crystals. You find that you are still getting pelted from one direction unless you can find better shelter.
You have been protected for some time when Belle-Mort-Laia suddenly lets out a triple howl that sends your skin crawling and shivers up you spine. Without another word the dog suddenly falls over where they had been standing.
[You have seen no other signs of people in all the past three days. You are on more of a path that winds along to the east and away from the direction of the Culverwoods. No signs of houses of anykind or domestic farm animals to be seen.]
[You will most likely reach the hamlett with my tomorrow post. That would be an estimate for anyone of the group that is thinking over the travel time that was given and how long you have been on the road.]
Toros d8=3 Tuesday March 29th, 2005 11:03:36 PM
Seeing the Dog has fallen, Toros will run towards it and channel some of his healing energy into its body(spontenaous casting of CLW spell, healing 5 pts).
He will check the dog's health situation, wondering what has happened to it. The rain has not been that much troublesome for the Chosen and Elves.
Gecktar Wednesday March 30th, 2005 2:00:30 AM
Gecktar draws his shield from his back and tries to protect himself and whomever is close to him.
For an instant he was thinking that the boulders were sufficient to provide them some cover againt the strange rain, but he look around as he was manifestly wrong.
After the cerberus falling, Gecktar sees Toros giving some healing to the hound. He then inquire him :"Torros ! what's happening to it ?"
Waiting for the answer, Gecktar looks around and chant a prayer that reveal magical things and looks around to see if there is a focus to this strange rain.
(OOC cast Detect Magic) (OOC 2 nobody for a cure of the rabied wolves ?)
Kale d20+11=30 Wednesday March 30th, 2005 7:09:54 AM
seeing the strange dog fall, Kale says "Examine him for wounds? He might of been hit by an arrow or something." then Kale scans the area, looking for snipers(spot check of 30)
Brahmah d20+7=12 d20+10=24 d20+4=11 d20=2 d20+2=5 Wednesday March 30th, 2005 8:14:04 AM
The ranger mulls over the crystal rain, wondering what sort of magic is it or is it simply freezing rain? Had he experienced anything of that nature aboard ship? (nature 12, survival vs hazard 24, profession sailor 11, Int 2, Wis 5, ick!)
Seeing the 'dog' fall, the ranger asks, "Is it, he... they dead? Is it poison? Or some sort of magic?"
He continues, "We are close to the Culverwood and have seen nothing of farms and orchards like would should have been seeing. No signs of much in the last THREE days! This is getting tiresome." He unsheathes both weapons, as the Chosen MAY get ambushed, again. "The Culverwood... isn't that where the folks called the Falcons or the Talons live?"
Flat-top Wednesday March 30th, 2005 1:59:47 PM
Flat-top takes his shield out and Hold it over his head, "I have room under this cloak for two more! Captain! I don't know about Falcons or Talons. But if your going to run for Cloverwood, then let's go now!".
Flat-top will follow the Captain one way or another!
Solgrin Wednesday March 30th, 2005 3:42:02 PM
"Brahmah, lets try to make it to the village we are heading to. If neccasary let us make a litter to transport the dog." Solgrin suggests.
Solgrin pulls his cloak abit to try and cover as much of himself as possible.
Kanchana (Cure Disease for Ilder, please Gecktar) d20+5=8 d20+12=16 Wednesday March 30th, 2005 6:02:41 PM
Kanchana goes to Gecktar. "Gecktar would you please cure Ilder of the foaming sickness [rabies]. I am certain that he must have caught it from the corrupted, sick wolves. I am fine, and have no signs of catching the foaming sickness."
Kanchana holds Ilder; cradling him against her under part of her cloak as she waits for Gecktar to cure Ilder of the foaming sickness.
Kanchana doesn't quite know what to make of the very odd weather (Knowl Nature 16). She searches for a better shelter, but sees nothing! (Spot 8!) She shrugs and will just have to endure the plague of bad weather. Kanchana wraps her cloak tighter about herself.
(Kanchana made her fort saves against infection. No fort roll was made for Ilder, so he is considered to have missed due to lack of fort save roll.)
((OOC: Everyone please check your email. I have compiled an overview over attacks and damage + fort saves rolled (or not rolled!) for every round of that combat against the wolves.))
Zeoll Wednesday March 30th, 2005 7:30:01 PM
Zeoll helps out with the three-headed dog. Together they should be able to move it. It isn't dead, is it?
He fingers a still-slightly-sore bite. "Yes, Good Gecktarr, thank you. I could use that curre. I think Crroc is okay."
"Let's get to the village."
A Big Problem. (DM Jim) Wednesday March 30th, 2005 9:42:07 PM
As suddenly as the rain started it stops, leaving behind the little crystals on the ground. They kind of remind you of ice but they have not started to melt. Scanning the area reveals nothing magical or any hidden enemies of anykind to those looking. The freak storm is also an unknown and noone has heard of this type of thing happening.
As the some of the group start to work upon the cerberus they find that he is still very much alive. It appears that he has passes out or something of that sort. Within a few minutes he is up and looking around, but they seem to have a sad look upon thier canine faces. "He is dead...we are sure of it...we could feel the spark leaving." They howl again in pain as the seem to be suffering a great loss.
Some healing for the disease that some of the group may have is passed out. The rest of the group is preparing to leave with the weather in a different state of cooperation.
Belle-Mort-Laia takes off at a fair run as they are determined to get to the hamlett in all haste. If questioned as to why the hurry, they will answer that their master is dead.
You have traveled trough another day and it is fast reaching two hours after noon. In the distance you see what appears to be a wall of trees. As you get within two hundred yards you notice that it is a wall but formed of maybe four large trees, shaped into a wall and only ten feet tall. It may still be in construction but you can see one large central tree. The cerberus starts to get a little hesitant as you near the wall, as if they are afraid of what they are to find. "We feel fear...we have never felt this before." They stop as you near to about 50 yeards and watch the opening in the wall that four guards mill around at, they have obviously spotted the group but seem unworried.
[Kup - I now pass the torch onto you. :)]
Gecktar Thursday March 31st, 2005 2:02:21 AM
Gecktar lay his two large hands over the small Ilder and call for the power of Domi. Light surround his hands and then flows into Ilder healing all diseases that it might have.
He then come close to Zeoll. "My friend I will take care of you tomorrow, Kanchana asked first for Ilder. I do not have the prayer available many times. But I will not forget you. One day more or less is not that bad."
When the cerberus come back to consciousness and tell them that he is dead, Gecktar is now certain that they must hurry to the hamlett.
When they come to few yards of the walls of the hamlett, and seeing the cerberus afraid, he prepares himself to react to a threat.
Brahmah Thursday March 31st, 2005 6:15:05 AM
Brahmah is stunned at the news the master is dead, but what or who killed him?
He reaches the hamlett and watches the dog slow down, he raises his weapons and looks around.
Toros Thursday March 31st, 2005 6:57:04 AM
Toros feels the sorrow of Belle-Mort-Laia deep in his soul, realizing that his bond with the dog is much intimate than he has expected.
He walks and talks together with Gecktar the last part of their journey. He does not need any treatment of the Cleric, as he was not biten by any diseased dire wolf.
"Four trees and four guards, For sure this is a different place than that of trees. But, it is very strange. I feel fear that I have never felt before." Toros shares his feelings with his friend, when they come close to the walls of Hamlett. He also can easily feel the hesitation of cerberus and looks at it with worried eyes.
OOC 1: Kanchana thank you very much for your work.
OOC 2: Kup, I knew it! It was you to put the eggs and mushrooms around the campsite! =)
Well Come among the Chosen of Domi! If also Toros or I can be of some help, please do not hesitate to ask.
OOC 3: Toros has some new items to play with. He can "enlarge" three Taurs to become HUGE with his new (courage) tattoo. He also has brand new a buckler, scimitar and a composite shortbow (+5 strength), a couple of tanglefood bags and mage armor potions. Please feel free to suggest any ideas for the use of them.
Flat-top d20+7=27 d20+6=23 Thursday March 31st, 2005 7:39:48 AM
Flat-top by this time has put away the cloak, he'll follow the Captain with weapon in hand. He's listening (27) and trying his best to spot (23) any kind of trouble.
Zeoll Thursday March 31st, 2005 1:33:33 PM
Zeoll thanks Gecktar and says tomorrow is just fine.
He is sad to understand what causes the strange dog to be so distraught. He follows along quickly.
When he sees the guards, Zeoll calls out in welcome.
Kanchana d20+3=10 d20+12=32 d20+5=23 d20+7=17 d20+5=9 Thursday March 31st, 2005 4:54:18 PM
"Thank you for curing Ilder Gecktar."
Kanchana lets Ilder go back to his "nest" to get some more sleep. She stoops down and picks up several of the crystals to study them. She looks to see if they are natural or magical in nature.
(Appraise 10, Knowl. Nature 32 (nat 20), Spot 23, Spellcraft 17. I decided to roll what I thought might be relevant to her study of the crystaline "rain".))
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
When the Chosen and their guide get within sight of the tree-wall Kanchana stops to admire the unusual structure. The four guards she will observe briefly but they don't interest her near as much as the living (?) wall does. She doesn't really get much of a good look at the guards at any rate! (Spot 9)
"They haven't hailed us yet. I guess they aren't concerned about a group of Taurs are they? I could ask them to meet with the pride's Warden, maybe then we can gain more insight into why we needed to come here?" Kanchana mentions to the others; without addressing any specific people.
DM Kup comment: an earlier post had the cerberus stop 150' from the "wall." I'm taking it that the group is all still at that distance, unless indicated otherwise.
Solgrin d20+4=17 Thursday March 31st, 2005 5:35:20 PM
Moving along with the other Chosen, Solgrin takes and collects some of the crystals from the rain for examination at a later time.
