Solgrin (AC18, HP22/26, Barkskin) Friday April 29th, 2005 3:28:23 AM
Feeling the two rapier strikes Solgrin yelps in pain, while the bite misses him. Solgrin smiles as Kanchana heals him of some of the damage then he casts Invisibility on himself while sharing it with Rozca.
Solgrin tells Rozca mentally "fly over and give the archers alittle sting for the Chosen my love but becareful."
Solgrin then moves back away from the wererat.
(OOC to Cayzle) Friday April 29th, 2005 5:02:51 AM
((Kale is at the hut Cayzle, Zeoll was in the fort wasn't he?))
((LOL Jay! Brahmah would love the party games the rest of the Chosen are having!)) ;)
Rozca (ceil) d20+4=23 d4+5=8 Friday April 29th, 2005 7:28:43 AM
Rozca smiles (if she can)Yes! Master!. She flies to where the archer or archers are, Still invisable and sting him (in a place where he cannot teach!)
If there's another archer there She'll get him next round. (remember this little girl IS Invisable! and proud of it.)

Flat-top will attack the same wolf or any other that is in range of his sword. As he swing at his target. He yells at his enermy "Get off our healer! Poss Bucket!"
Attack AC 29/16 - Damages 12/7hp.
Gecktar (AC 24 51/57hp) d20+9=24 Friday April 29th, 2005 7:58:23 AM
Gecktar will try to get Amada to come with him, so they can protect and heal her properly. "Come with me, Amada! Let the Wolf Lord come to us, then we have a better chance to defeat him. Come with me, my Dear."
He still has his silver knife in hand. BUT will gore the Wolf Lord if he should come too chose to them.
Kanchana is hurt and bleeding but she is still able to dole out some healing. She taps Solgrin with her wand after moveing back five feet for protection. She calls for the Chosen to close up ranks so that healing and punishment can be dealt out in two and threes.
Gecktar slams his silver knife into the body of the werecreature and watches in satisfaction as the weapon has full effect upon it. He has Solgrin send his familiar after one of the archers on the houses.
Flat-top uses a cross slashing motion on the werewolf before near him not wanting to expose his belly to the thing. Both of his attacks strike true.
Toros falls into a full retreat once again as he drops yet another weapon. He moves beside the cauldron and chugs down another potion and feels the effects of healing. He then draws his scimitar and waits. He calls to Amada to join up with them for healing and to help out.
Zeoll had been thinking about Kale at this time when he pulls out his wand of curing. Though Kale is not there he moves over and heals up Kanchana instead as she seems to be in need of it.
Solgrin is struck by the rapier and it makes him yelp in pain. Still he backs off and then casts a spell, sharing it with his familiar. He asks her to go and give the little archer on the roof a little sting for him but to be careful.
Rozca flies up to the hut on the right and stings the little wererat that is positioned there. She then moves back out of the way to launch another attack.
Croc moves slightly to defend Zeoll, swishing his tail and growling loudly for all to hear.
Four dead worgs.
The werewolf on the left rushes looks directly at the posturing crocodile and moves in that direction. He attemps to rip into the poor thing with tooth and claws (hit: 29/19/28 and damage: 11/9/8). This time the ball of fire has no effect as the werewolf dodges past it with no effects.
The werewolf feels the bite of a silver weapon and turns upon Gecktar with a vengeance. His teeth and claws go to work upon the taur (hit: 26/28/34 and damage: 13/10/9).
This werewolf once again attacks Flat-top. It's teeth and claws trying to find soft exposed skin to rip and tear (hit: 24/17/29 and damage: 11/11/10).
The Wolf Lord turns it's attention to the cerberus as it comes out to attack him. The sword decends upon the things body in three rapid strokes (hit: 40/23/29 and damage: 16/16/17).
The wererat looks over the targets that remain on the field and picks one to shoot at. He fires off a pair of bolts at Flat-top who is closer than the rest (hit: 24/28 and damage: 11/11). *Spot DC 16 to notice a wererat on the roof*.
The wererat finds itself stung by the little flying dragon, but now she has a problem as she becomes visible. The wererat fires off a pair of bolts at the little dragon as it snarls (hit: 33/17 and damage: 7/6). *Spot DC 16 to notice the wererat there*
The wererat watches as the wizard goes invisible and shrugs his little rat shoulders as he turns to attack Toros, his rapier leads but he does follow it up with a viscious bite (hit: 30/18/29 and damage: 7/7/3).
Amada falls back with the sudden onslaught of the Wolf Lord. She had not been prepared for that level of an attack and she shakes it off.
The council continues its chant as it directs another lightning bolt into the werewolf by Croc. The bolt slams into the werewolf with some effect and gives the poor crocodile a jolt.
Belle-Mort-Laia seems to feel no effects from the sword at all. In it's frenzy it sees only one thing and can know only one thing. This is the one that killed it's companion and friend...it must die. All three sets of jaws snap into the Wolf Lord tearing off more flesh.
werewolf AC 18 wererat AC 20 worg AC 15
The Hut
Brahmah decides to make short work of the worg that is before him so that he can move on to more problematic enemies. His sword neatly cuts into the worg, dropping it to the ground lifeless.
Kale feels the bite of the bolt and turns to see the little ratface in the window of the hut. He decides that the werewolf already inside the hut is more danger than this little rat so he helps Leets with it. He does let Brahmah know about the rat in the window.
Managarm blinks over to attack the werewolf, biting into its legs with ferociety. It had attacked his master after all.
Leets is momentarily stunned by the sudden rumbling sound that he hears outside. He could have sworn that he just heard a loud, well bang and then the tremble of the ground.
The worg sets up a flank with the last other worg standing and attacks Brahmah from the other side (hit: 19 and damage: 7).
Two dead worgs.
The worg charges in at Brahmah, his teeth leading the way (hit: 13 and damage: 6).
A werewolf turns on Kale as he stabs into his back. Teeth and claws meet the rogue with a vengeance for the earlier attack (hit: 25/32/26 and damage: 6/7/13).
The wererat has been spotted by Kale and he points it out, but the rat is not worried. After all it is outside, so it turns it's crossbow at Brahmah and fires off two bolts at him (hit: 11/29 and damage: 11/18(6+12)) *Spot DC 16 to notice the wererat at the window:Brahmah is flat-footed*.
There is a sudden loud crash from the backdoor as it splinters and comes apart. The table is neatly thrown back out of the way with great force. From the opening walks in a werewolf that snarls in defiance at the small group.

(Spot 15, missed check... as to the damage he takes, I'm unclear on what AC you hit. Brahmah's flat-footed AC is 21)
Brahmah sees Kale is in trouble with the werewolf and moves to a flanking position with Kale. Brahmah strikes at the were wolf with his Falchion, missing twice but giving Kale the advantage.
In tauric, Brahmah says to Kale, "If we can capture one of these beasts, we'd have proof she's innocent."

Toros - OOC Saturday April 30th, 2005 9:37:58 AM
Thanks for the map, Jim.
Would it be also possible for you to list the HPs of Chosen according to your records? I am a bit worried that there could be some discrepancy with ours, and I want to make sure the health condition of Chosen, as this has become a fight for life. :-)
Also, how many turns would you allow one Chosen to leave hamlet and reach the hut? Kup had mentioned about a 19 minutes. With "fly" and "haste" how would it be?
And one last little thing.., there were four guardsmen, Horatio and others... Are they all dead? I remember you were talking about one "who was reaching his spear..." :-b
Zeoll (AC18, HP46, Prayer, Inspire Courage, Produce Flame, Flaming Sphere) 2d6(3+4)=7 Saturday April 30th, 2005 1:03:52 PM

Seeing Gecktar and Amada are in trouble, and his wererat opponent is being distracted with Zeoll's attempt to make it hideously laugh, enlarged Toros takes his chance... Picking his CMW Potion up from his handy gear, he moves to a position to reach both Amada and Gecktar.
Standing in between the two Taurs first Toros will reach Gecktar and cure him, spontenaously channeling some of his healing energy.
Meanwhile he hopes Amada will somehow recognize the Potion he is holding even in her were-bear form - Her house was full of such potions and she should be very skilled in potions and stuff.
"Amada, please drink this. It will heal you!!"
Hopefully, the badly wounded Centaur Were-Bear will take the potion and drink it.
Finally, Toros will again ready himself for an opportunity that will help him strike with his scimitar. He will do his best to protect Gecktar and Amada, while they recover from some of their wounds.
OOC: After the last attacks of the were-wolf Gecktar should be in negative hit points, if I am not wrong. To heal Gecktar enough to allow his own actions I have posted, when I have the earliest chance, however, please consider the order of Toros's action, after Kanchana's and before Gecktar`s and Amada's.
Toros is somewhere between Amada and Gecktar in line 11. Gecktar is cured 5+2=7 hit points. Rolled a tumble check in case, 17. If AoO arises 17 hp damage before damage reduction (unconfirmed critical) Toros would almost notice the wererat shooters this time! (spot 9+6=15!)
Flat-top (AC 22 11/85hp) d20+15=32 d20+12=27 d8+5=12 d8+5=11 Sunday May 1st, 2005 7:46:41 AM
Flat-top attacks again the wolf(E/8) with his cross attack. Yelling at Kanchana, "Kitten! Healing Please! I'm getting weaker! No time to Stop!". As he presses on with the fight.

Gecktar notices that behind him there's a werewolf, behind him. Not sure if this werewolf is goinig for the Counscil and the people, He will take no chances.
Gecktat will charge and gore the wolf (-A/11).
A charging gore Ac 22 - Double damages on charge 12+17=29hp.
He still has that knife in his hands.
Managra(ceil) (Ac 20 - 18/18hp) d20+8=26 d6+4=9 Sunday May 1st, 2005 8:50:33 AM
Managram will attack the Werewolf between Kale and his master Leets. He'll bites the were wolf in a place that will draw blood. Then the celestral dog will back up a little bit.
Attack Bite Ac 26 - Damages 9hp.
Rozca(ceil) (Ac 20 28/28hp) d20+4=23 d4+5=8 Sunday May 1st, 2005 9:05:44 AM
Rozca (who is still invisable)could smile! She would have a great big grin on her dragon lips. She watches the wererat stisting and turning, trying to reach the point of the poision stab.
She will sting the wererat with her poision stinger again, this time she aims for a nice tender spot on his hind cheek.
Sting attack Ac 23 (too bad she does not get critical hits) - Damages 8hp.
DM Kim - This were rat has gotten two sting of poison, he should get weaker by now? Should he not?
Croc(ceil)(Ac 20 39/39hp) d20+6=25 d12+7=18 Sunday May 1st, 2005 9:26:02 AM
The Pet Gater has a mouth full of fur and it's not very tasty. This puts him in a very foul mood! He will quickly advance to the Werewolf (at B/6), he will strike with his tail and try to get the fur out of his mouth.
Attack with tail Ac 25 - Damages 18hp.
Kanchana (24/44 HP, 19 AC) d8+2=8 Sunday May 1st, 2005 4:30:12 PM
Kanchana hopefully will be able to get to Flat-top to heal him somewhat. (Heal Flat-top 8HP)
If she gets the chance she will then change to the more powerful healing wand, as the Chosen are soon to be worm-bait without it's use.
Kanchana perceives Toros beginning to shift towards Gecktar and Amada. 'Didn't anyone learn anything from when Vasch got himself killed??'
"IF WE DON'T REGROUP NOW, AND STAY TOGETHER WE WILL ALL DIE! TOROS, STAY PUT!" Kanchana calls out.
"GECKTAR GET YOUR BUTT OVER HERE! IF SHE WON'T FOLLOW THEN YOU'VE DONE ALL YOU CAN FOR HER!"Kanchana's voice carries a definate sense of urgency.
Death for many among the Chosen here is certainly immenent if the tide of battle doesn't shift immediately and significantly. The healer's either aren't getting the openings they need to heal the wounded; or are not doing their duty.
Toros - OOC, hps Monday May 2nd, 2005 5:57:12 AM
I think Flat-top's hp is 20 (28 with Kanchana's healing), Kanchana's hp is 31 after Zeoll's healing.
Croc is 20hp Rozca is 21hp Managram is 7hp
Leets??
Brahmah (OOC) Monday May 2nd, 2005 6:00:36 AM
OOC: Are we having FUN yet!!! Chosen, fight to the death! ;)
We need everyone to pull together please. We are seperated and have to use ALL our resources. No one should be missing posts... it may cost a life or lives!
Solgrin (AC18, HP22/26, Barkskin, Invisible) Monday May 2nd, 2005 7:29:35 AM man we are spread out to much, time for us to pull together and focus on one opponent at a time.
Solgrin will step back to (-A9) then will call out to the others "focus our attacks on 1 or 2 opponents instead of several different ones. If we focus we should beable to drop them quicker!"
Solgrin will then prepare to cast a spell.
Kanchana (OOC) Monday May 2nd, 2005 5:48:00 PM
(Good points Jay; however this is just a game and everyone needs to remember that first and foremost. No one can help what RL throws at them - and RL comes first and is the most important thing. If the DM decides to kill someone off because a RL situation kept them from posting then that reflects bad on the DM and the game both doesn't it?)
Flat-top(AC 22 25/57hp) d20+14=27 d8+5=10 Monday May 2nd, 2005 6:33:24 PM
"Yes! Mother Dear! I'm comming!" He slastes the were rat(C/10) for (Ac 27- Damages 10hp). Flat-top will back up one square (to D/10).
OOC: Flat-top would trample him if he could.
Brahmah OOC Monday May 2nd, 2005 7:50:29 PM
OOC: Of course I don't expect people to ignore RL situations, but if they see something getting in the way of posting for a day or two, there SHOULD be a substitute waiting to fill in for said person. :) That's why we're all friends and family here, we back each other up.
As for bad decisions being made when one is killed, I think it doesn't so much reflect on the game and it does on the blood thirsty DM happily killing someone for their own sick thrills. :)
Remember friends, communication is key. If your unable to post for a day or a week, please, email the DM and your fellow players and we will fill in for you. I had no clue Gillis was taking a break, I got no email. I simply thought he wasn't posting anymore. I was wrong. This is an example of miscommunication that could have been clearer. :)

Zeoll directs his flaming sphere at the werewolf, then falls into a spell but has to change his target to the wererat. They wererat does not stop to laugh or anything and then Zeoll knows that his spell has had not effect.
Toros moves and channels healing energies into Gecktar as he hols out a potion that he hopes that Amada will take. Otherwise he waits to give his friends time to recover and plan an effective counter attack.
Flat-top presses his attack upon the werewolf that he faces. He cries out for help from his ever helpful kitten, though he is not sure if she can get to him.
Gecktar charges and gores the werewolf that was behind him. He still holds his knife but is starting to worry about the group as a whole.
Rozca who found herself visible after her very first attack has been struck by one bolt but takes another sting into the wererat who seems to be unaffected by last times attack.
Croc had bitten into the thing earlier and now brings his tail into play upon the hurt werewolf.
Kanchana heads for Flat-top and pours some healing into him, though it may not be much...maybe it will keep him alive for awhile longer. She hollers about regrouping and the healers doing thier job. The vision of Vasch dying flies into her mind and she sees it happening again.
Solgrin yells out to the Chosen as he backs up. They need to pull together and focus on one enemy at a time. Otherwise they are going to be overwhelmed. He then prepares a spell of his own.
Four dead worgs.
The werewolf growls as the crocodile smacks him with it's tail. It tears back into the crocodile with blood-red vengeance on his mind (hit: 18/29/21 and damage: 13/9/10). He easily skips around the ball of flame during the fight.
The werewolf staggers under the heavy attack from the charging taur. It then growls as it too strikes back on the taur before it, Gecktar (hit: 33/26/19 and damage: 12/12/10).
Flat-top is under extreme pressure from this werewolf. It comes back at him with all intentions of finishing off the job that it started (hit: 34/20/35 and damage: 9/13/12).
The Wolf Lord brings his sword once again into the cerberus with no mercy in his actions. The cerberus seems to still be holding on, maybe not even hurt that bad really (hit: 33/22/21 and damage: 17/17/16).
The wererat figures that the werewolf has the centaur taken care off and turns his crossbow upon Kanchana, firing off two bolts at her (hit: 27/20 and damage: 7/8).
The wererat is stung again by the little dragon and it wonders what is wrong with this little creature. It turns the crossbow upon it again as it smiles (hit: 35/27 and damage: 10/6).
The wererat moves on past all of the Chosen as it heads for the council. It sends it's rapier into the body of the older elder of the coucil and then bites at him (hit: 25/28/23 and damage: 4/4/3).
Amada hunches over and then throws her arms out wide with her head tilted back. She roars into the air as everyone feels a healing wave pass through thier body *all Chosen healed 31 points*.
The council slams another bolt into the werewolf facing off against the crocodile. Then the wererat is there and the eldest council member is falling to the ground bleeding out from three wounds upon his body. The other two seem in shock as their link is broken and they shake with fatigue.
Belle-Mort-Laia accepts the sword blow, but still seems to care little. In their frenzy they can care less about anything but revenge.
There is a sudden loud explosion in the direction of Amada's hut, that trembles the very ground that everyone stands upon. If that is not enough from the ground below the werewolf that faces off against Gecktar there sudden springs forth large woody vines. They seem to writhe on thier own and twist around the werecreature and then they turn upon Gecktar as well *Reflex DC 16 or be stuck fast*.
A blue portal has opened up in the middle of the hamlet, but you are not sure who did that. If anyone looks towards it they will see the other Chosen at the hut fighting for thier lives as well.
werewolf AC 18 wererat AC 20 worg AC 15
The Hut
Kale stabs the werewolf again but finds that it is still standing. So much for his hopes...is that a sinking feeling that he has.
Brahmah moves and brings his weapons to bear upon the werewolf as well. Trying to find soft spots and openings in the things armor he finds that he has no luck. He does call out a thought that they maybe able to capture one of these beasts as proof, well that is his hope anyways.
Managarm blinks in and attacks the werewolf that is beating on his master. He then steps back some to see what will happen next.
Leets is momentarily blinded and disoriented by the explosion. He is not able to make a move as he rubs at his eyes lightly to restore his sight.
Two dead worgs.
As the enemies start to make thier own attacks there is a fizzing and poping from the far corner. It seems that the potions have finally mixed togething into something that maybe dangerous. There is a sudden bright flash followed by a loud explosion. Shrapnel is thrown everywhere as part of the floor and glass is sent flying in all directions *Reflex DC 14 or 8 damage*. Everyone is blinded for a split second but as the light fades you see the room is in shambles or more that it originally was. Someone may see a flash of light from the corner that the explosion had come from *Spot DC 12*.
A blue portal opens where the explosion happened. Looking in that direction will allow you to spot the other Chosen in a bad way in the hamlet. They seem to be in a bad way as well.
For those of you who are interested, yes I have been applying penalties to all attacks, damage, saves and skills even.
With a haste spell or flying I may allow someone to get to the hut in about ten minutes.
Horatio is part of the council and therefore in the link with the other two council members. The other guards are busy keeping watch on fellow hamlet members as they have no real chance and they know it. They will only try to join the fight if things are really bad, but they know that they will not accomplish much.

Gecktar almost felt under the repeated attacks of the werewolf but Amada's healing bring him new vitality. Feeling the vines growing he makes few agile steps escaping their grasp (Reflex save 17) and takes advantage of the situation to stab the werewolf with his silver dagger another time (hit AC 24 damage with silver weapon 11hp) before leaving the area where the vines are, moving (-A10).

(Reflex save 15) (Spot check 20)
The minotaur's eyes take in everything at once, the explosion, the wounds on Kale, the blinded paladin, the portal to the hamlet(A portal!?) and the advancing shapeshifters. This is the only chance we'll get. He thinks.
He shouts at the portal at the top of his lungs to see if it isn't an illusion. "Get To Know Me Domi!" He yells in hopes to get the Chosen's attention.
In tauric, he says to Kale, "Get through the portal... there and save yourself. Take Leets with you, he seems confused. I'll follow if I can!" He suggests. It is obvious to Kale that he is not making a command, he's pleading as a friend and brethren. "Go! The Chosen need you two!" His eyes plea to the urban ranger.
He turns on the werewolf and strikes out again. "Alright you trumped up oversized mutt. Le'see what you got?!" He swings again, missing ALL four swings, but STILL IN FLANKING POSITION WITH KALE (should he decide to stay).

Flat-top attacks the WereWolf (E/9) again, He uses his cross cut again. There was an explosion and Flat-top can see that the captain, Kale and Leets are in Big Trouble. But there's bigger trouble here. So he yells (not knowing if they can hear him.) "Get over here! All of you! there more people to protect here!"
Flat-top continues to fight.

Crock attack the werewolf (B/5) goes after the werewolf with his open mouth, take a good grip on the wolf and does a barrel roll of death on the animal.

Kale nods at Brahmah, takes one last swing at the werewolf(hit AC 31, possible critical, hit AC 30 for a critical, does 6 normal dam + 18 sneak attack damage and 8 critical damage and 14 sneak attack critital damage for a total of 46 pts of damage), then makes a dash for the portal. "RUN!" Kale yells at Brahmah. "IF THAT DIDNT KILL IT, NOTHING WILL!" then he jumps through the portal.

It is evident that Amada does not need the potion's healing, and is able to take care after not only herself but also the others! Toros gratefully thanks the Were-bear Centaur in behalf of all Chosen.
Then, the explosion from the hut, the spring of woodt vines, opening of the portal and return of the Heroes from the hut.., what an amazing turn of events is this within only a few seconds! Toros feels happy that they will not have to haste back to the Hut to look for the Chosen!
Just as the healing of Amada, the return of the Chosen from the hut portal restores Toros's well-being. Now it is time to attack with whatever he has!!
With delight, he lets his barbarian side to take control of his consciousness (rages). Tumbling to dodge any possible threat (tumble, 16+6=22) he comes closer to the center of the battlefield, the cauldron, and looks for the best target to attack. During his move, he gets rid of his scimitar and gets himself a real weapon to fight, his warhammer! For a second the barbarian liontaur even thinks to drop the potion he is holding in order to apply maximum damage, but finally decides to keep it for some more time.
Enlarged and raged Toros charges the werewolf at B6 that is attacking Croc - with his warhammer on one hand and healing potion on the other. The result of his charge should be devastating for the were-thing. (confirmed critical with 2 natural 20s (my first time for such a roll) !! 47 points of damage (including charge, tattoo, inspire courage, and strength increases from rage and enlargement, 19, x3) after the damage reduction (-10)).
Expecting any counteraction from the were-things, Toros calls for the help of Zeoll, "Zeoll, while I deal with this thing, please you take care after the council and wererat for the moment, if you can." and welcomes Kale and his companions "Kale, Leets, Managram, nice to see you back here!! But why does Brahmah not come?"
Distracted by various happenings at the same time, Toros is not in a position to seize any opportunity for attack (AoO AC, 3) but he finally notices the wererat on the roof (spot, 11+5=16)!
Solgrin (AC18, HP26/26, Barkskin) d20+4=23 2d4(4+4)=8 Wednesday May 4th, 2005 7:13:57 AM
Solgrin casts Acid arrow at the closest Werewolf (hit AC 23, DMG 8 (acid), no save.)

Gecktar feels life slowly start to seep out of his body, but is suddenly feeling much better as he feels healing flow through him. He is not sure who exactly did it but he is greatful. He barely escapes the grasping vines and decides to take advantage of the situation to stab the wereworlf. He makes good on that but finds that the vines are grasping at him again (Reflex DC 16 or be caught).
Flat-top yells to his Captain and the others inside the hut, not really knowing if they will or can hear him. He calls for thier help as the need is great and lives to be saved here. He cross-cuts into the werewolf before him, hoping to level the beast but feeling that it will not work that fast.
Rozca is not sure but she has a feeling that this stubborn creature is evading her poison. She shrugs her little dragon shoulders and flies to the other hut to bit the other wererat in the back of the neck.
Croc moves forward a little bit angry and grabs the werewolf. He attempts to roll with the thing but he finds himself held in place, so he lets go. The explosion helped in that though.
Toros cannot believe the turn of luck as the portal opens and the woody vines shoot up out of the ground. He does not think too long on it as he falls into a rage. He moves in on the werewolf facing off against the crocodile, slaming a hammer into it will all his might. He would have called out to Zeoll, that is what part of his mind is saying, but in this state he is not for talking but killing.
Solgrin brings a arrow of pure acid to bear on the closest werewolf near him, the one in the woody vines. It smacks into the werewolf and burns fur and hair off it's body. He mentally lets Rozca know that she must hide if she is in bad shape.
Four dead worgs.
The werewolf gets in his two claw swipes, at Croc, before the woody vines shoot up around him (hit: 34/22 and damage: 12/13).
The werewolf fights the woody vines that have suddenly grasped it. As it twist and turns in the vines you hear it howl again in anguish as the woody vines sprout throns.
The werewolf howls in defiance of Flat-top as he tears back into him, determined to finish this fight for good (hit: 23/32/20 and damage: 12/11/9).
The Wolf Lord smiles as he sees the blood pouring from the cerberus. He brings his sword cutting in for another three hits (hit: 28/18/20 and damage: 15/15/21).
The wererat feels the bite and hisses in pain, but twirls to take aim at the offender. A pair of bots fly at the little dragon, Rozca (hit: 30/16 and damage: 9/13).
The wererat spots the little dragon flying away and the blue portal that has opened. He turns his crossbow in that direction and fires at the first thing that comes out, Managarm (hit: 19/26 and damage: 11/6).
The wererat seems to smile at Horatio as he brandishes his spear. The rapier is soon working around the man's defense and the wererat leans in and makes a bite at him (hit: 33/22/25 and damage: 8/8/3).
Amada seems winded from her healing act, though noone is aware that it was her. She glares around the area, her eyes falling upon the hut, she seems to recognize the inside of her home.
The eldest council member is down and possibly dead or dying. Horatio pulls his spear out of the ground and threatens the wererat with it. The newest and youngest of the council members, the young woman, drops to the eldest elders side and starts to try and revive him.
Belle-Mort-Laia takes yet another set of blows from the leader of this pack. Blood just rolls down the big cerberus but is still seems to not notice as it tears back into the Wolf Lord.
Under the werewolf by Croc and Toros sprouts up another large mass of woody vines that intwine their way around everything (Reflex DC 16 or be ensnared: Croc and Toros must make these saves).
Under Kanchana burst another mass of woody vines that grasp at people near it (Reflex DC 16 or be ensnared: Kanchana, Flat-top and Amada must make these saves).
The blue portal is still open but only three of your companions have come through it so far. Kale, Leets and Managarm are now standing just outside the portal lookinga round taking stock of the situation.
werewolf AC 18 wererat AC 20 worg AC 15
The Hut
Brahmah yells to the Chosen that he can see through the portal and then asks the Chosen that are with him to seek shelter through the portal. He strikes at the werwolf again with his weapons and misses on all shots. He cusses under his breathe about the turn of bad luck (Spot DC 13 to notice a flash of silver where the explosion happened).
Managarm can tell that his master is not totally in the moment, being hurt and blinded. He takes another bite of the werewolf and then moves through the portal, hoping his master follows.
Leets can feel things going bad here and takes the opportunity to jump through the portal.
Kale rips into the werewolf right before he tears through the portal as well. He hollers at Brahmah to follow as his attack, he hopes, was enough to kill that beast.
Four dead worgs.
The one werewolf that has seen no battle howls and growls as it throws itself into the portal. It sees no reason to stay behind now.
The werewolf that had been hit by Kale right before he went through, turns on Brahmah with a feral smile. It's claws lead the charge at him being followed up by the teeth once again (hit: 34/28/32 and damage: 7/8/8).
The wererat starts to climb through the window and into the hut. It clutches a crossbow in it's hand as it does.
The portal still flickers but it does stay open...for now.
Brahmah (41 of 83 hps) d20+8=11 Wednesday May 4th, 2005 5:12:49 PM
(Spot 11, my last spot was 20, did you miss it?)
The mintaur hopes that this tactical retreat is what they should have done. He also hopes the portal wasn't an illusion of Marteaus' or some other group bent on destroying Domi or his Chosen.
All Brahmah does this round is move through the portal, after being sure all the Chosen(including Managarm) are out of the hut. (Simple movement hopefully won't provoke AoO from wolf-boy.) He also hopes the werewolf follows.
If the rumors are true... I might be infected now. Were-Brahmah... thats no good. *Sigh* He thinks to himself, looking at the open wounds the werewolf has just inflicted.
Sorry Jay, missed that so my bad. By the way since you did pass that spot check you notice a sword laying near the explosion area. It must have been under the floorboards and it appears to be silver in color. :) You can make an ammendment to your post if you want. :)

Having made the hit of his lifetime Toros has no chance to celebrate. The were-wolf still stands and the Liontaur barely escapes from the woody vines that spring from the ground, with a jump to the side (Just enough to get the reflex save, 16, 9+7!). Leaving the were-thing to the vines and hoping that Zeoll will be able to take care after Croc Toros moves towards the council members that are under the attack of the were-rat.
The council members need his healing skills more than his thirst for blood at the moment. He prematurely ends his barbarian rage and once more channels some of his stored healing energy to the fallen elder member of the Council. (healing from CLW, 8+2 = 10 hps, 3 of 4 L1 spells are used, remaining one is the Inflict Minor Wounds Spell.)
He also notices that Horatio, who tries to fight with his spear against the wererat, is also injured and offers him:
"Horatio, drink this healing potion, this were-thing has to deal with me first before getting another chance to attack you all.
Saying this Toros readies himself for the upcoming attack of the wererat, standing in between the werething and the council members. However he knows that his own self is very much open to the attack (failed tumble check, 2+6, 8) and will not be able to respond in a similar fashion (failed AoO roll, 3)
(Jim, also I hope you do not mind that Toros holds two objects (warhammer and potion) with one hand or uses one of his paw, while casting his spell. Or just please assume that Horatio took the potion before the casting of the spell. Hope he takes the potion, though. If not, assume that Toros drops his weapon. He does this all the time anyway!)
Zeoll (AC18, HP46, Prayer, Produce Flame, Flaming Sphere) d8+1=7 Wednesday May 4th, 2005 8:31:12 PM
[OOC: Sorry I missed last round! If I can make up the lost action, Zeoll would step to a wounded person and heal them for 7. He would also direct the Flaming Sphere at an enemy if possible. The Inspire Courage ended after last round.]
This round Zeoll directs the flaming sphere at a wererat if it is in reach, or a werewolf otherwise. After the attack, the Sphere ends. He casts a second Hideous Laughter at a wererat.
Things for Zeoll to do as an NPC: -- Start a new Inspire Courage. -- Use CLW wand. -- Stay out of combat unless forced to fight with greatsword +1. -- Run into woods; if chased, cast Entangle. -- Throw Produced Flames (4 left). -- Use Goodberries/CMW to stabalize fallen.

Produce Flame -- 2 of 6 flames used Flaming Sphere -- 6 of 6 rounds used Hideous Laughter (if it works) -- 1 of 2 rounds used
Bard slots unused: 3 of 3 Level 0 spells; Difficulty Class 15 0 of 2 Level 1 spells; Difficulty Class 16
5 goodberries from earlier.
Charges used from CLW wand: 1 or 2.

Gecktar d20+1=20 Thursday May 5th, 2005 4:12:00 AM

Brahmah moves over and picks up the sword that lays on the exposed ground in the hut. When he picks it up he is shocked to see that it is indeed a silver longsword. Still avoiding the werewolves he steps out of the portal and into the hamlet. To his greater shock the sword has changed to that of a falchion, much like his original one.
Flat-top is fading fast as he pounds into the werewolf one more time. He can feel his life slipping away but knows that he must fight on for the others. His attack is good, but will it be good enough (Relex DC 16 to avoid the woody vines or be caught in them).
Toros moves over to help out the council members, falling out of his rage as he does. He lays healing into the fallen elder but notices that it has no effect...he suddenly realizes that the man is dead. He offers Horatio a potion that will heal him if he takes it. He then prepares himself for the attack upon him from the wererat, knowing that he must save the rest of the council.
Zeoll directs his flaming sphere at the closest target which is the werewolf attacking his crocodile. He then calls upon his arcane powers to try and help out Toros and the council. His hideous laughter settles over the wererat with no effect, as the rat does not start laughing.
Gecktar has much the same idea as Zeoll and sends a spell at the wererat. His hold person spell also settles upon the wererat with no effect.
Kanchana moves and touches her healing wand to Flat-top. Her mind is screaming for them to find a more defendable place. Then only place that she can see that would work would be the main tree. Three taurs could defend it easily while the enemy could only get to them a few at a time.
Kale flanks the werewolf attacking Flat-top and stabs into it from behind. He gets Leets to cover the werewolf coming out of the portal for Brahmah.
Solgrin readies his chain as he moves back away from the fight. He hopes that things will shift soon with the group whole again.
Four dead worgs.
The werewolf near Croc is able to avoid the woody vines and then moves some to get out of thier way. He pounces at Zeoll with his claws leading the way (hit: 35/29 and damage: 9/13).
The werewolf fights the woody vines and then howls in more pain as it's body seems to spasm from inside the vines. Anyone looking will notice some trails of blood flowing down the hair of the werewolf (Spot DC 12).
The werewolf facing Flat-top finds itself attacked from both sides and howls in pain and anger. It tears into Flat-top with it's claws and then spins to snap a bite at Kale (hit: 34/18 and damage: 13/8 : hit: 36*crit21* and damage: 15*crit23*).
The Wolf Lord knows that the cerberus will not last much longer and it smiles in satisfaction as it cuts into the beast more (hit: 40/20/26 and damage: 14/12/18).
The wererat watches the little dragon with beedy eyes and then fires off another pair of bolts at it (hit: 30/28 and damage: 7/10).
The wererat snears as he fires off one bolt at Brahmah and then the other at Managarm with a laugh (hit: 36*crit22*/27 and damage: 10*crit22*/7).
The wererat looks to Toros and sneers as he brings the rapier to bear on him and then his bite (hit: 22/29*crit24*/26 and damage: 9/7*crit12*/3).
Amada pounds for the hut just as the last two forms exit. She slams back into the werewolf and the both go tumbling back into the hut.
The elder is already dead. Horatio takes the potion from Toros and drinks it down as he nods in thanks, though he says nothing. The young woman draws a dagger from somewher in her belt and lunges at the wererat.
Belle-Mort-Laia staggers and seems to not care, but part of them are trying to push on. They need this kill...it must happen.
Another set of woody vines shoot up under Toros, doing their best to grab everything in sight (Reflex DC 16 or be caught).
The blue portal flickers but does not close as Brahmah comes out of it and heads off to the side. You then see two more forms come out of the portal, another wererat and a werewolf.
All hitpoints should be current, without taking into account the damages for this post.
Toros - OOC Thursday May 5th, 2005 11:35:10 PM
Jim, what was the total hitpoint of the elder council member, before he was wounded by the wererat?
The wererat did three attacks on him (hit: 25/28/23 and damage: 4/4/3). If all hit the total damage is 11. I have thought this would not have killed the elder so soon.
Brahmah d20+12=24 d20+12=17 d20+11=29 d20+11=12 d20+6=14 d20+7=21 2d4(4+1)+7=12 2d4(3+4)+7=14 d6+4=7 d6+4=10 Friday May 6th, 2005 12:50:44 AM
Stopping in the village, Brahmah notices Amada enter the portal. "Should we follow her?! It's nasty in the hut!" He asks. Thinking he still might need to keep her safe.
He turns and swings at the wererat, hitting with the silver falchion (I assume it acts as a medium weapon) and his kukri. (AC 24+, 14, 29+ and 21 for 12 silver sword, 7, 14 silver sword and 10 damage)(PLUS ANY ADDITIONAL DAMAGE FROM THE SILVER SWORD)

For a sudden, Toros loses all his morale, feeling hopelessly useless. He remembers the words of Amada "Don't you understand, you all gonna dieeeee heeeereeee!!". Meanwhile the were-thing finds an opening in his armor and the vine woods wraps on his front leg. (d20, 4+7=11 failed reflex save)
Toros looks at the werething that does not have any sense of humor, and appreciation of Domi's divine power. Isn't it afterall a little rat that Toros and his ancestors used to catch and play for fun? Can a rat beat a cat!? Thinking this, Toros feels his vessels again fill up with energy and makes his move away from the troublesome were and vine-things. (burned one hero point, rerolled and made the save, 9+7=16)
The Liontaur tries his chance against the were-things with his tanglefoot this time. If the wererat threatening the council is not caught by the vine woods Toros will throw the tanglefoot bag to it, again moving between the council members and the wererat (so that he gets rid of -4 throwing into melee penalty). Ranged TOUCH attack AC = 19
If wererat is caught, securing the safety of that spot for the moment Toros will move closer to the cauldron looking for the right target to throw his tanglefoot bag. And he will throw it to the werewolf who is not caught by the vine woods yet. (AC = 19 (-2 for each range increment after 10 ft)
Notes: ------ Toros's movement rate is 50ft.
An entangled creature takes a -2 penalty on attack rolls and a -4 penalty to Dexterity and must make a DC 15 Reflex save or be glued to the floor, unable to move.
Toros will hold off his action to benefit from any magical effects as a result of spells cast by the Party at this turn. So, if there is any, please add any bonuses (like inspire courage, haste etc..) to the stated ACs and other statitics above.
Toros addendum Friday May 6th, 2005 2:15:46 AM
And if it fits into the frame of his actions please end the movement of Toros to a place near to his whip dropped on the floor.

Toros Friday May 6th, 2005 8:03:59 AM
Kale, my friend, I guess you are only the target of the bite attack "hit: 36*crit21* and damage: 15*crit23*"
Flat-top is the target of claw attacks hit: 34/18 and damage: 13/8
So, I think you should be at +2 hps, not -6s. Please have a look again.
Gecktar (AC22 hp 32 / 57) 2d8(5+8)+5=18 Friday May 6th, 2005 11:49:52 AM

Flat-top will use his last healing tattoo for the day (Healing 10hp). "Come on Bullregard! Let's get you to Kanchana for some real healing. I might have to swing at this wolf again thow!"
Save DC 16 ( I hope Flat-top does not trip over his mithril horse shoes)

Croc now has the taste of wolf blood, will try to pull down the wolf off the thorns further injuring the darn wolf.

Toros - OOC Friday May 6th, 2005 9:12:18 PM
Some of us have been very busy recently and unable to post regularly during this fight. Thus, for the sake of maintaining the game flow, and keeping alive the characters themselves and the other party members; may I humbly suggest some NPC actions to be considered for the Chosen, in case some of us can not have the time to post for them in this turn?
- Zeoll: Start a new Inspire Courage, moving away from his opponent. - Kanchana: Heal Kale with her wand - Solgrin: Cast Haste on Brahmah, Flat-top, Leets, Kale, and Toros. (using his rod, 10 rounds) - Leets: encounter the werewolf at J10. He does not need to attack, just defend his position against the werewolf.
And all the Chosen who are not directly attacking any opponent would be in a defensive position, increasing their AC at least +2)
These are just simple suggestions, which does not consider all the necessary issues. However, I hope our DM would be able to deal with all the rest under these main guidelines; to keep the characters themselves alive and support the other characters.
Toros - OOC Friday May 6th, 2005 9:25:14 PM
As Toros holds off his action I think I can make this change to his post:
Toros will take the silver dagger that Gecktar give him, and drop his warhammer to the ground.
The priority of his tanglefoot bag is first the wererat attacking the council (if it is not caught by the vine woods) and second the werewolf attacking Zeoll. (even, as a full round action can he throw his second tanglefoot bag?)
Brahmah Friday May 6th, 2005 10:54:20 PM
(OOC: Waiting for DM to post. Sigh*)
Solgrin (AC18, HP26/26, Barkskin) Saturday May 7th, 2005 9:01:42 AM
Crying out Solgrin picks up Rozca then calls to Kanchana "Can you heal her? I can't suffer her loss!"
Solgrin moves closer to Kanchana so that if able to she can heal Rozca.
OOC: spells listed in [] have been cast and are not available until next time we get to rest and recover spells. Haste was cast awile back and is not in this battle.
Eunice/Kanchana (OOC to Toros; second part to DM James) Saturday May 7th, 2005 9:39:15 AM
Toros don't you dare dictate or even suggest what my character is going to do. It is not your right and I certainly do not appreciate it. Therefore refrain from ever suggesting what my character is to do in the future; even if I cannot post due to RL circumstances.
***********************************************
DM James Kanchana will not risk moving to Kale at this point - the werewolf will have to go first; also Solgrin asked first and thus Rozca comes first. Logically speaking Kale should have made his way to Kanchana the last round as his HP was low when he got here.
Kanchana (44/44HP, AC 19) 3d8(1+5+7)+15=28 Saturday May 7th, 2005 9:45:14 AM
Kanchana hears a plea for help from Solgrin. SHe half turns and sees Rozca looking rather worst for wear. The druidess immediately taps the little pseudodragon with the healing wand out of pure reflex. (Heals Rosca 28HP)
As Kanchana wheels back to the direction she was initially facing she half sees Flat-top grab for Kale. Flat-top is blocking her view of Kale. Kanchana raises an eyebrow in question.
Toros Saturday May 7th, 2005 11:06:13 AM
It is a great shame that you choose such a language to address me Kanchana. Calling it "dictating" is funny. And about suggesting, it is a suggestion to DM, not the player, in case the player cannot post and DM has to NPC it. I wanted to provide DM some perspectives, if the DM will have to or want to NPC the characters.
I play my own character and you play your own. There is no question with that. What I wanted was to provide some back-ups, even imperfect, in case they might be needed. I did not have any intention to interfere into the area of any personal right, and I apologize for any consequences of my actions that are understood like that. But then, the rights come together with responsibilities for each other, which I believe you are also very much aware, of Kanchana, as something I appreciate about you indeed ... However, even if this is a game, our playing this game is a part of Real Life, isn't it?
Solgrin, Leets, Zeoll, I am sorry indeed, if I also made you think or feel in the way that I made Kanchana did. I indeed did not mean it. Originally I was inspired by Zeoll's post that was listing some possible NPC actions, in case he may not post, and have thought it would be a good idea to make such a listing for any character that could need it. And its final target has been the attention of Jim, but not the players, although it has been about their characters.
In that sense, Jim, I also apologize from you for the trouble.
So, sorry Chosen. I should not have done such thing before asking everyone's opinion and learn from my mistake.
Kanchana (OOC reply to Toros) Saturday May 7th, 2005 3:23:31 PM
The problem is that you assumed that I would have Kanchana make a particular action. The wisest thing to do is leave it to the players in question to post a list of NPC actions for their characters. Making suggestions to the DM on behalf of other players' characters is generally a bad idea; especially since you cannot really know how another player would have their PC reaction in any given situation.
Yes Kanchana often opts to heal others before fighting, but she has never ever done so if there has been a very direct threat to her own health to do so. She waits first; as far as is possible, for the direct threat to be redirected so she can ply healing in relative "safety". Now if there was a way for Kanchana to get to Kale ASAP without drawing the immediate and inevitable attention of the very powerful werewolf then she would have been at Kale's side quicker than lightning.

Brahmah calls about helping Amada since it is nasty in the hut, but he has more important problems. He brings the newest sword in on the wererat. The silver falchion touches the wererat three times leaving thin cuts into his body, then the kukri finds a spot. Brahmah feels nothing from the sword, but he can tell that it is superior and well balanced.
Toros feels the bite of rapier through his armor and then the vines start to get ahold, but he easily gets away with a jump. He throws his tanglefoot bag at the wererat as it seems to escape the woody vines.
Kale fakes the falling and then charges past the now entangled werewolf, his sword biting into the things side as he passes. He stops a little ways from Kanchana praying for healing at a later time.
Gecktar hollers to Toros to take his dagger, but moves to help out Zeoll. He lays a healing hand upon him, lending him strength.
Flat-top slashes into the werewolf before him, but finds that as he moves to get to Kale he is already gone. He grasps at empty air as Kale dodges past the trapped werewolf.
Managarm disappears with an audible pop as he returns to his home plane. He will not return till he is ready and no amount of trying will get him back earlier.
Rozca is flying as fast as her little wings will take her but it is not enough as she is overtaken by the bolt. She slowly sinks to the ground, only having the ability to speak to her master a little before she hits the ground.
Croc gets off lucky as he is too low to the ground for the thorny vines to get a good hold upon him. He is forced to move back to avoid the vines from getting another chance at him.
Solgrin's world suddenly comes to a stop as Rozca tumbles to the ground. He moves to her and cradles her little body in his arms. He sends out a plea to Kanchana for healing, knowing that he cannot lose her...not now.
Kanchana is at Solgrin's side, well at least she thinks it is his side, and lays the wand upon the little dragon. She cannot see Solgrin but hopes that he is smiling as the little dragon feels warmth of healing in her little body. She has a sudden back feeling as Flat-top lunge for Kale or in the direction that he was in. But she sees Kale come up seconds later from the opposite side moving in her direction.
Zeoll is grateful for the healing and takes stock of a situation that seems to have turned or at least it appears that way.
Leets is still stunned, even more as he hears the pop that signifies Managarm returning to his plane.
Four dead worgs.
The werewolf gives a feral grin as Zeoll is healed, but that makes no difference as it can use all it's weapons now. It tears with claws and teeth into Zeoll (hit: 24/32/31 and damage: 8/12/14).
The werewolf lets out a howl that is soon cut short as a woody vine comes shooting out of it's mouth. The body shrivels as the last of the blood is sucked out of it. The body is only part way through the change back to human, the body still caught still part way in the hybrid form (Spot DC 12).
The werewolf has it's screams of pain cut short as his life slowly begins to ebb from it's body. The vines grasp it greedily as it starts to drink up the blood from the ground and body of the body as it starts to change back to human(Spot DC 12).
The Wolf Lord takes his sword and drives it through the body of the cerberus with finality. The sword has cut into the cerberus's spin and pinned it to the ground, till the Wolf Lord rips it out of the ground spraying blood.
The wererat turns it's crossbow on Brahmah as it tries to support it's brother (hit: 26/17 and damage: 11/9).
The wererat laughs as the blinkdog pops out of this plane and back to it's own. He turns the crossbow upon Leets with a determined aim, firing off two bolts at him (hit: 28/19 and damage: 11/8).
The wererat looks to Toros and sneers as he brings the rapier to bear on him and then his bite (hit: 19/11/23 and damage: 8/9/6).
The werewolf charges away from the portal claws leading his attack upon Flat-top (hit: 28/13 and damage: 11/10).
The elder's body lays upon the ground, but a couple of the guards had rushed forward to drag it away from the woody vines. They seem scared and look to the Chosen as if to beg for their continued help.
Horatio brings his spear in at the wererat, anger very evident upon his face. His spear finds an opening as the young elder woman has her arms wrapped around the wererat's legs, her knife seeking to find an opening to stab into.
Belle-Mort-Laia lets out a grunt as the sword descends and then impales it into the ground. It makes one last feeble attempt to bite the Wolf Lord, but cannot pull it off as the light dies from it's eyes.
The blue portal flickers flickers some more and appears to have shrunk some. You hear a roar from inside the portal and the sounds of fighting..
The only thing that I will do if someone misses a post is to give them some action. Most often that person will fall into total defense, so if I make a post for you and you did not make one figure that you are in total defense for any attacks aimed at you. I will not have monsters ignore your character if you are closest to them, that would be just plain wrong. Still do not expect me to kill you off because of it.
Kale - Modified your post as you are still up and running. Hope you do not mind. :)
Toros Saturday May 7th, 2005 9:14:00 PM
In one of her previous posts, Kanchana was "able to get to Flat-top to heal him somewhat" and I have thought it would be also possible for Kale as well. I trust our DM Jim that he will take care after our PCs, especially if he has to NPC them, evaluating the circumstances in favour of the characters, but not their opponents, as much as possible.
For Solgrin's Haste spell, I have thought he has had time to rest and recover this spell, since the time it was used was against the Trolls that were trying to attack the campsite, which was protected by a magical ring from mushrooms. Then the Chosen have had time to rest and prepare spells, I have thought.
What I have done itself would not be a good idea but I hope it would help us to come up with a good idea for what we can do, when any of us will not be able to post for 1 or 2 times during a fierce fight. Lets do the wisest thing, and "leave it to the players in question to post a list of NPC actions for their characters." Then the DM can evaluate the situation and choose an action for that character for the sake of -the flow of the game, -other characters in need and -of course the character him/herself.
Kanchana (44/44HP, AC 19) 3d8(7+6+7)+15=35 Saturday May 7th, 2005 9:25:19 PM
Kanchana didn't even notice that Solgrin was invisible, maybe she will realize that after the danger is over? Suddenly as Kanchana finishes her turn there is Kale standing right in front of her? She thought that Flat-top had grabbed him, but it seems no. Still operating on pure reflexes Kanchana reaches out and taps Kale with the wand. (Heals Kale 35HP)
"We need to regroup to somewhere defensible! Make for the council tree! We could hold that spot easily!" Kanchana calls out to the Chosen in Tauric.
(OOC Kanchana) Saturday May 7th, 2005 9:57:23 PM
(The game flow is just as important when we aren't wasting time in combat. Missing posts at any time is just as serious and potentially disputive for all players enjoyment no matter when missing posts occur. Therefore we should post NPC actions for our own characters no matter when we cannot post; not just during combat. It is blantantly obvious after all that missed posts are a commonly occuring problem and are just annoying no matter when they occur. Combat is certainly not any more important than any other part of the rest of the game; and combat should not be treated as more important than the rest of the game.
Toros, you need to double check the posts. The DM moved Kanchana over to Flat-top to heal him. I had no say in that move. In fact I was rather surprised when I saw that the DM moved her to Flat-top's side as it was. The two situations were not at all alike and cannot therefore be compared. There were no enemies between Kanchana and Flat-top when he needed healing.
Kale was on the other side of the werewolf from Kanchana until the DM just moved him near to Kanchana. Kanchana would have had to risk an AoO from a creature that in theory can kill her with one attack if she was going to get to Kale when he stood where he did initially. Which is why I would not have had her "auto heal" Kale as an NPC action the way it was before DM James moved Kale away from the werewolf.
Also Toros you must have forgotten that the DM didn't let any of us rest to regain spells before this combat. Solgrin started with almost no spells left for this combat; so for that matter did Kanchana.)
Brahmah (OOC) Sunday May 8th, 2005 5:09:15 AM
OOC: James, how is it that Brahmah was at 41 hps one round ago and taking 11 damage takes Brahmah to 19 hps, when 11 from 41 equals 30hps??????
Besides the hitting Brahmah with a bolt for 11 points, what other damage has he taken?? 11 points of damage are unaccounted for!
Brahmah (30 of 83 hps) d20+13=31 d20+13=24 2d4(2+1)+7=10 2d4(2+2)+7=11 Sunday May 8th, 2005 5:18:42 AM Attack of Opportunity Taking advantage of the wererat's ranged attack, Brahmah strikes out with the silver sword. (taking AoO, hitting AC 31 (crit 24), for 21 damage, PLUS additional silver sword damage.)
Regular round Brahmah, hearing Kanchana's call, simply withdraws, not taking any other action besides moving. (This shouldn't draw attack of opportunity!) Moves to C8 beside the sap.
Flat-top d20+15=28 d20+11=28 d8+4=9 d8+4=10 Sunday May 8th, 2005 12:54:29 PM
Flat-top Seeing the way that Kale jump over that were wolf, tells Kanchana "WoW! Look at the Rouge GO! Kanchana Back up with me, as I finish off this wolf." Flat-top will swing his sword one more time, then back up to the others. Attack AC 28 & Ac 28 - Damages 9+10=19 hp.
Kale(Ac 22, Hps 66/37) d20+8=15 Sunday May 8th, 2005 5:04:27 PM
Kale, after getting the worst of his wounds healed, nods at Kachanga's suggestion and falls back with her, only stopping for a moment to shoot his bow at the closest wererat(hit ac 15 - missed)
Gecktar (AC22/24 hp32/57) 3d8(7+7+8)+15=37 Monday May 9th, 2005 3:22:03 AM
"Get back Zeoll, don't stay in reach of the werewolf" says Gecktar. He then takes is wand and touch Zeoll before he moves (healing him 37hp) at take a glance to Toros to see if he manage to escape the wererat attacks and see his state of health.
It would not take long before the Chosen will be overhelmed by the werecreatures...
(OOC use wand of cure serious wounds for 37 hp 34 charges left)
Toros - OOC Monday May 9th, 2005 6:19:25 AM
Of course, role-playing is important all the time, however, the risk to lose a character during a combat deserves somewhat a different treatment for the missing posts.
So, what would everyone think if we do something like that?
- If a player would not be able to role-play his/her character and miss more than three posts consecutively s/he can ask his/her character to be played by another player or by the DM until s/he can properly post again. - Even, in cases of missing two or three posts, s/he should provide a list of NPC actions for his/her character - During combat times, the possibility of missing even one post would require a list of NPC actions
In this way, as much as possible, in case of any missing posts as a result of some short-term real life issues, still we can maintain the flow of the game, while respecting the individuality of each character.
And, Kanchana, I would like you to know that, as far as I still could think or do something I would never let any character to be thrown into a life-threatening situation. When I suggest Kale to be healed by Kanchana I have had two hopes to rely on for their safety. First I have hoped that the near werewolf would be caught and disabled by the vine woods, as it was already very much wounded. Second, Kale thought he was in negative hitpoints, although he was not, and post no move or action except role-playing his falling unconscious. So, I have hoped this would give DM enough reason to take the initiate to move him to a safer place. Besides, overall, the situation was less risky than the case with Flat-top that I have compared. When Kanchana had posted to move near Flat-top to heal him, there had been still a wererat in between, not to mention the werewolf that Flat-top was fighting. However, DM Jim made the wererat move to the council members and then Kanchana was safely come close to Flat-top. Please check the DM post and the battle map before your relevant post, if my explanation does not satisfy you. On the other side, about the resting time of the spell casters it is for sure true that I mistakenly have assumed all the spell casters rested and recovered their spells until Solgrinfs kind notice. I have checked it again and I guess Jim was able to allow Druids and Clerics to make their morning prayers, even to learn the spell gElven Visionh however, Solgrin, as a Wizard, could not get the chance to recover his spell gHasteh.
OK, now I should post for Torosfs turn, otherwise he would have a missing post, too :-).
Toros 48/61 hp, AC 28 (+3 Defensive Fight, +4 Mage Armor, -1 Enlarged, -1 After Rage), Enlarged-3 rounds d20=14 d6=6 d20=5 d20=13 d20=1 Monday May 9th, 2005 7:10:02 AM
Toros feels lucky, as the tanglefoot bag slows down the wererat a bit, even if does not totally stop, and he dodges all the three attacks of his opponent.
Benefiting from a flanking position Toros makes his own attack with the silver dagger that Gecktar has given. (Hit AC 18) Again with the help of luck, the dagger cannot be dodged by the weakened reflexes of the wererat (tanglefoot, -2 to AC) and makes a proper wound. (damage, 10hps)
As the wererat's position allows the Liontaur to use his natural weapons, he makes attack with his paws in order perhaps not to wound the wererat but to distract it enough to provide some protection for the council members (Aid Another?, AC = 11, +2 AC to the youngest council member) Furtermore, as much as he can, he will put himself in front of the council members to interpose any attack of the wererat upon himself.
Meanwhile, with the call of Kanchana, the Chosen move closer to the cauldron. Toros feels happy to see they are all together again once more and now will have a better chance to defend themselves against the werethings. The Wemic also notices wolves turning into their original forms, wondering whether any of these are some person he may recognize? (spot, 18). All these in mind he becomes too distracted to benefit from any AoO that his opponent may give to him. (natural 1)
Notes: ------ An entangled creature takes a -2 penalty on attack rolls and a -4 penalty to Dexterity and must make a DC 15 Reflex save or be glued to the floor, unable to move.
+3 to AC from Defensive Fighting

Flat-top (AC 22 22/79hp) Monday May 9th, 2005 5:06:03 PM
Flat-top backs up towards the rest of the group. Keeping in frount of Kanchana to protection her.
Solgrin (AC18, HP26/26, Barkskin) Monday May 9th, 2005 8:00:53 PM
Solgrin moves along with Kanchana keeping away from any enemies.
Fight for Life, part VII. (DM Jim) Monday May 9th, 2005 10:50:23 PM The Hamlet
Kanchana heals up Kale and then calls for a full group fallback to the council tree so that they stand a chance.
Brahmah tears his sword into the wererat in front of him and it drops to the ground, dead or dying. He then pulls a full retreat with the rest of the group.
Flat-top makes one last attack upon the werewolf near him. Then he falls into a retreat of his own as well.
Kale fires off an arrow as he moves along in the direction that Kanchana is moving.
Gecktar lays his wand against Zeoll and heals him once again as he looks to see how the other Chosen are moving along. He backs up slowing while trying to not keep his eyes off the enemies.
Toros stabs his dagger into the wererat and is surprised to find that it crumples to the ground, but ends up ontop of the poor female council member. He then pulls back as best he can while making sure that the council get away as well.
Solgrin is most likely the easiest to move back as he is invisible, though holding Rozca it does look funny. He is following along and avoiding enemies as he goes, though no enemies remain beind him.
The other Chosen fall back as well to the council tree as Kanchana calls for it. It does sound like the best thing to do and they might have a chance.
Four dead worgs.
Two dead werewolves.
Two dead wererats.
The two werewolves that still live stalk forward. They seem to be taking their time now as they have suddenly seen something that they had not expected. This group of people are tougher than any they have faced before.
The two wererats drop off the roofs of their houses and race forward. They still hold their crossbows and seem willing to use them if they have the chance.
The Wold Lord also seem taken back that most of his men are dead or dying, though deep down he does not care. His head turns though as he hears a voice from behind him, from the portal.
Both surviving council members have made it inside of the council tree and are looking around for something to fight with.
From out of the portal is tossed the mangled body of the werewolf that went in with Amada. Right behind it comes the form of a werebear...one angry werebear in fact. She bellows out at the Wolf Lord who turns his head towards her. "Stand and fight me Rikar....we were once friends and now look at us." She roars again and charges forward. "You once a good man and me a noble taur....reduced to what?" She is in a rage it would appear and giving the Chosen a chance as she takes on her old friend.
You will find that I moved some of you or all of you further than you may have expected. This is mostly due to the fact that I needed to produce a new map and also because I could not see why you could not move that far. Yes argue that according to the map part each square is ten feet, but that is only for reference. The map is there to help in visualization only.
I hope that all the HP are ok as well. I am sorry about my mess-ups here lately. I have been dealing with a lot of things.
Now onto something that I am not sure that you have all figured out yet. Yes this battle was hard and yes it was over your CR, but I knew that you could do it. You may have thought not but the foe is bound to make mistakes if it thinks it has the advantage and that is exactly what was done here. Argue if you want but I think that the group is doing a great job, call it luck if you will but I have been pulling no punches with this battle and all that has happened was planned ahead of time.
Brahmah (30 of 83 hps) Tuesday May 10th, 2005 12:37:48 AM

Brahmah falls back with the others and becomes defensive.
Toros 48/61 hp, AC 28 (+3 Defensive Fight, +4 Mage Armor, -1 Enlarged, -1 After Rage), Enlarged-2 rounds Tuesday May 10th, 2005 1:59:18 AM
As all the Chosen has managed to regroup again in a safer and defendable place, Toros assumes a role to support the fighters.
First, he will call the attention of Kale to take the silver dagger, "Kale, take this silver dagger, I believe you will use it more effectively than I do." He will also look at Gecktar to see whether he approves what he is suggesting. If the Rogue and Cleric have no objection, Toros will leave the silver dagger to Kale.
Then, he will activate his tattoo one more time and Enlarge Kale, if he accepts it. If he does not, Toros will start a Bardic Inspiring Song.
OOC: I did not receive the map, but hope it would not be a problem.
Kale(Ac 22, Hps 66/37, Enlarged, Cats grace) Tuesday May 10th, 2005 6:39:40 AM
Kale takes the dagger, then flips it a couple of times while Toros casts his spell, when its done, there is a 18 ft Kale standing with a silver dagger and a smile on his face. "Im ready for some payback." the rogue says as he pulls out a potion and drinks it down(cats grace potion, +4 to dex), then waits for the were creatures to make their move.
Flat-top (AC 22 32/85hp) Tuesday May 10th, 2005 7:09:40 AM
Flat-top keep backing up towards the others and will stop only when he is told to halt. He will swing at any thing that tries to harm any people.
But he will ask, "Is that Amada out there with the brown fur coat??"
He takes a good look at size of Kale and drops a couple of Road Apples.
OOC: DM Jim is it getting light out side? Paw'caw and Elder cannot fight in the this battle.
Brahmah (addendum) Tuesday May 10th, 2005 9:41:07 AM
Seeing that the others have NOT fully follwed Kanchana's instructions, Brahmah gets a bit upset.
In taurish he yells, "I don't like to give ORDERS, but get your butts back to the council tree like the druidess asked!" He says in a very 'un-Brahmah' manner.
(OOC: Sorry for the early post, do not know if I'll be able to post tonight due to shift change at work.)
Next round, Brahmah will only attack those creatures coming near the group at the council tree. He will defend the healer(s?) and spellcasters.
He askes for healing.
Solgrin (AC18, HP26/26, Barkskin, Invisible) Tuesday May 10th, 2005 4:46:22 PM
Solgrin moves Rozca under his cloak as he continues to the council tree. Once inside the council tree Solgrin will look to see what he can help with.
Gecktar (AC 22/24 HP32/57) Tuesday May 10th, 2005 4:51:14 PM

Kanchana (44/44HP, AC 19) d20+5=25 Tuesday May 10th, 2005 5:35:40 PM
Kanchana will continue her "retreat" towards the Council Tree. If she can she will go inside and check for any enemies hiding within. (Spot 25; nat. 20!)
Kanchana will not stop to heal anyone unless they look like they are on Death's door; and they are also within immediate touching range of the wand she is holding - and preferably they ask for healing so she is made aware of their need.
((OOC: Toros I think I will not discuss this combat thing further past this last OOC post now. You and I simply do not agree on all points; and this is no problem for me. I appreciate differences in opinions. :) The NPC thing; created by the player for their own PC, is a good intent, but it shouldn't be forced upon anyone just for the sake of combat - it should be a choice, and a task done when player time allows it as well. I do not think it is more important during combat then during any other time (IMO). RL happens, we cannot always make plans... We all do need to treat all aspects of the game as completely equal in importance (Yes, I freely admit that I do not value combat in general). I do trust that James both can and will take care of any necessary tasks that PC's must get done when the tasks need to get done.
Combat I do not really enjoy and never will. It is a waste of my time to be honest, and I also consider it to be quite boring timefill (a quick fix for when creativity dries up for a spell. No offense James!!); but I endure it.
Some of you players; and James I am certain, probably already know my view on combat so I figur I will just write it black on white here so it is out in the open. My view of combat will probably never change (although James' little banter (and good creativity) between Kanchana and the bounty hunter during the bounty hunter combat scenario was actually enjoyable for me. You did really good with that one James). :) However, I must say that if I miss a post due to my nursing internship period (5 weeks left, I am practically counting the days!) I miss a post; that is life right now. RL is far more important than RP combat will ever be. If my view of combat is disappointing then I am of course sorry to hear that. Friendly greetings, Eunice. P.S. Gilles (I am so sorryif I spelled you name wrong!) I completely agree with the points you made in your e-mail on the werewolves; they are way over our rating as a group. I must add that the Chosens' general levels (i.e. Kanchana and anyone who started the game after me) should be stated as 6th level not 7th; to my knowledge Kanchana will be gaining 6th level not 7th if she survives this. Please do correct me on the level thing if I have gotten it wrong James.))
Fight for Life, part VIII. (DM Jim) 2d8(4+1)+6=11 d8=6 Tuesday May 10th, 2005 11:15:40 PM The Hamlet
Kanchana is first inside the council tree, well besides the council members themselves. She spots no hidden enemies and she knows for certain that she would if they were there. She does see the three bodies still layed out on the tables and an assortment of stuff hanging on the walls.
Brahmah calls out orders to fall back and follow what Kanchana ordered, he knows that she has their safety at heart. He does stop in the doorway to take up a defensive position and watch.
Flat-top slips inside the council tree as well as he looks around. He is surprised by the sudden size of Kale and has to querie about the werebear outside as he had been concentrating on staying alive earlier.
Kale takes the dagger and suddenly finds himself large enough to just fit in the doorway, height wise that is. He does take up enough room in the doorway that only Brahmah can stand beside him, but noone can shoot over him.
Gecktar stops and lays healing into the now enlarged Kale. Figuring that him being bigger now will need all the help he can get, seeing as size does have its disadvantages and advantages.
Toros just slips into the council tree a little before Kale takes up his post at the door. With the two of them enlarged it would have been impossible otherwise.
Solgrin slips Rozca under his cloak and speeds into the council tree. His eyes roam over the interior and he sees only little windows with wooden type bars. There is also a central smoke hole in the top of the tree like structure that will most obviously let out smoke.
Zeoll and Leets slip inside the hut with obvious relief. They drop onto a set of benches that are designed to be easy for even thier kind to sit upon or lean.
Croc has taken off to the side of the hamlet to maybe circle around. He knew that he could not keep up with the taurs once they started moving.
Horatio moves forward and touches a hand to Brahmah. "Please forgive me for my suspicions...I should have seen the good in you at the beginning." Brahmah will feel healing flow into his body as he is spoken too or not if he wishes to slap the hand away.
The younger council member comes forward with a smirk upon her face. "I have told you many time Horatio that you judge too fast." She pushes a scroll out and looks around. "Did not your group have a mage?" You can see that she is blushing with a mixture of shame and a need to prove herself.
Four dead worgs.
Two dead werewolves.
Two dead wererats.
The two werewolves stop and pace around outside the council tree. They are about fourty feet away and seem to speak to each other everytime they pass.
The two wererats smile as they take up positons outside of the coucil tree some fifty feet away. They have loaded up thier crossbows and seem intent on peppering those at the door with bolts.
The Wold Lord charges at Amade with a feral howl and a yell. "They are but food and slaves to me now." They both collide and you see the sword go flying as Amada brings her clawed paws slamming into the Wolf Lord's arm. She had ducked under his clumsy attack and landed two of her own...you see a smile from her.
werewolf AC 18 wererat AC 20
{Walls - assorment of spears, daggers and other more strange weapons you would suppose; a few cabinets line the walls that seem to be fashioned right from the tree itself; there are also a few shields made of wood; most notible is a pair of bows with a pair of quivers on the far wall above what would appear to be a shrine}
Sorry, I do not think that anyone got my last map. Lycos can be unreliable at times but at least it usually sends my emails and I still get the ones sent to me.
Kanchana (44/44HP, AC 19) 3d8(8+4+4)+15=31 Wednesday May 11th, 2005 12:37:13 AM
As soon as she is finished looking for enemies. She belatedly recognizes that Brahmah asked for healing. Kanchana sees his back framed by the doorway and next to Kale. Kanchana taps the healing wand to the middle of Brahmah's back. (Heal Brahmah 31HP)
"Gecktar, you make sure that Kale gets healed if he needs it. We should be able to hold this tree with a smaller amount of effort," Kanchana states. Kanchana takes out the lesser wand of healing and now holds a wand in each hand (greater in one, lesser in the other).
((James, who or what is RIO on the latest map? Jay, sorry I missed Brahmah's call for healing in my last post. Kanchana took care of some of Brahmah's wounds this turn.)) :)
Gecktar (AC22/24 hp32/57) Wednesday May 11th, 2005 4:54:44 AM
Gecktar takes place behind Kale so as to be able to heal him when needed. He says "Is there any one to get my composite longbow ? I could be nice to arrass the wererat..."
(OOC: happy to see that you hold us and our characters in such esteem Jim. Thank you)
Kale(Ac 22, Hps 66/37, Enlarged, Cats grace) Wednesday May 11th, 2005 6:46:45 AM
Kale will pull off his quiver and hand it back to Gecktar and yell "Can anyone put flame to my arrows? Steel doesnt hurt them, lets see if fire does." then he'll use a ready action to counterattack any attacks made by any of the were-creatures.
Brahmah (? of 83) d20+13=18 d20+8=13 2d4(1+4)+7=12 Wednesday May 11th, 2005 10:27:20 AM
OOC: I believe Gecktar may have healed Brahmah this round too, I am uncertain what Brahmah is at. However, I think Brahmah is at near full hit points thanks to Kanchana's vigilance! ;)
Brahmah's eyes dart quickly to the man. "Thanks. We'll talk later. Move to the tree." He says harshly.
Looking at the female, Brahmah says, "Yes, but I haven't seen him during this battle." Which was true. Brahmah had entered the village no more than 30 seconds earlier and had truly NOT 'seen' Solgrin. He gestures his thumb toward Kanchana. "I think he sticks to our druidess. He might be near her. You get... stay safe!"
Brahmah moves(move action) to the werewolf Flat-top is confronting and swings with the silver 'falchion' twice (standard), hitting once. (AC 18 and 13, for 12 damage plus whatever the sword does in addition!) In tauric, Brahmah says to Flat-top, "Lets flank this beasty!!" No able to quite reach the position.
Flat-top (AC 22 32/85hp) d20+4=22 Wednesday May 11th, 2005 10:37:28 AM
Flat-top is looking into the cabinets, he's looking for food (Flat-top hungry!). But in one of the cabinets are supplies to start a fire in the Fireplace. "OH! Look Kale! There's some oil and an olrag or two?"
Flat-top comes back to his Big Friend Kale, "Give me a few of your arrows and I'll make them in to hot stuff. Flat-top start to craft (24) with pieces of rag soak on this fluid for the firePlace. Here's one arrow!" And hand it to Kale so he can use it right away.
OOC: Unable to flank- Brahmah! I'm inside crafting fire arrows for Kale. (Flat-top is on the other side of Kale.

Gecktar d8+5=10 Wednesday May 11th, 2005 3:37:42 PM
I read back the post : the first that was healed was Brahmah (12hp) but DM says that was Kale (maybe Gecktar isn't close enough from Brahmah ?) So Gecktar heals the one that was not healed with another spontaneous casting (heal 10 hp to Kale)
Solgrin (AC18, HP26/26, Barkskin, Invisible) Wednesday May 11th, 2005 3:46:24 PM
Solgrin steps up near the female asking about him then dispels the invisibility and says "You can call me Solgrin. Is there something I can help you with? Have you any arcane scrolls that we could put to use in defeating the creatures outside? Also is there something we can use to make the smoke hole not so inviting for them to try to come through?"
Solgrin looks over to Brahmah then says "I am here, just trying to keep from becoming a pin cushion."
Solgrin tells Rozca "curl up and take your normal place dear" as he sets Rozca on his shoulder.
Kanchana (44/44HP, AC 19) Thursday May 12th, 2005 12:10:03 AM
"Kale using flame as a weapon in a village made of living wood might not be such a good idea... if you should be unlucky enough to miss what you are shooting at the whole village could be destroyed," Kanchana does sound very worried.
Kanchana stays away from the small windows; just in case any of the enemies can squeeze through them!
Zeoll (AC20, HP45 of 46, Barkskin, Prayer, Produce Flame, Inspire Courage) Thursday May 12th, 2005 7:33:16 AM

Rozca is happy, because her master called her 'Dear', that means he is not mad at her. "Master! I poison those two wererats archers, They should be dying by now. Did I do good?".
Now she starts to climb up to the shoulder of Solgrin, then hides under his long hair and curls her little tail around his neck. (Now the little Dragon's tail look like a necklace, To anybody else) But the woman with the scroll is looking intensly at Rozca going around Solgrin's body and under his hair. Her face is frozen in a wide eyed supprise.

Kanchana pours healing into Brahmah and then pulls out another wand. She lets the others know that they are in a better position now and that Gecktar will need to heal up Kale if he needs it.
Brahmah thanks the man Horatio and lets the younger female know that the wizard should be around. He holds his position so that he can maintain the blockade with Kale.
Flat-top easily finds some oil and rags, that he figures can be used for such a purpose as making flaming arrows. He soon has one lit and a sweet scent of jasmine fills the council tree.
Kale suggests putting fire to arrows to use against the enemy. To that he hands his bow and quiver to Gecktar.
Gecktar keeps his position by Kale and ponders outloud the need to harass the werecreatures in general.
Toros starts up a sing a song of inspiration. In this dire time he knows that they can use it.
Solgrin pops back into visibility as Rozca curls in his hair. He lets the young female know that he is here, along with Brahmah. He inquires of an arcane scroll that maybe of use to the group.
Zeoll is up and on his feet again as he gets a second wind. He starts to sing as well, his own voice mingling with Toros.
Leets is still feeling the effects of fatigue from the battle as he stays slumped against the bench that he had moved over to earlier.
Horatio moves back to allow the group do deal with what they must, though he stays close as he can still heal if needed. He glances to the younger council member and nods his head as he can see no way around it and these people have most likely saved most of the village.
The younger council member looks to Solgrin and nods her head as she holds out the scroll to him. She had glanced to Horatio to make sure that it was ok. "It is a fireball scroll...one from the coven." She is not sure how many of the Chosen may understand her words but Horatio has given permission to reveal at least a little to them.
Four dead worgs.
Two dead werewolves.
Two dead wererats.
The two werewolves continue to pace as they seem to be working themselves up to something. It appears that they have finally come up with a plan of action.
The wererat on the right pulls up his crossbow and aim it at Kale. He fires off a pair of bolts at him (hit: 30/28 and damage: 6/13).
The wererat on the left pulls up his crossbow and aim it at Brahmah. He fires off a pair of bolts at him (hit: 23/15 and damage: 11/13).
The Wold Lord and Amada continue to circle each other, teeth finding openings as claws dig hunks of flesh from each others bodies.
Had storms yesterday. RIO should have been RIP, sorry about that.

Brahmah (66 0f 83, AC 23) Thursday May 12th, 2005 1:54:07 PM
OOC: I'm not clear on what Kale and Brahmah are supposed to be blocking.
He takes the bolt in the forearm. The ranger watches the werewolves for signs of action, then if they move, he'll follow.

Kanchana then turns to Kale's back says half in jest "Kale, you did stop in the doorway, you are giving them a rather large target."
***** OOC: Sam I honestly am making the comment in a bit of humor. :)
Solgrin (AC18, HP26/26, Barkskin) Thursday May 12th, 2005 7:53:45 PM

He aim and fires at WereWolf(G/10).

Kanchana cannot believe what she is hearing...a fireball inside of this hamlet of wood. She does aleviate a little of the tension by joking with Kale.
Brahmah watches and waits for the werewolves to make the first move. His muscles tense but he has the presence of mind to resist Toro's spell.
Flat-top wants to join in the fight but there is no room between an enlarged Kale and Brahmah for anyone else to stand. One of the barred windows in the front would most likely work, but it still maybe hard to shoot out it.
Kale fires off one of the flaming arrows that is handed to him. His arrow thuds into the wererat that fired at him.
Gecktar heals up Flat-top from some of his wounds but keeps as eye upon Kale to make sure he does not drop.
Toros taps his tattoo and lays his hand upon Brahmah but finds that Brahmah does not grow larger, it is as if his spell was resisted.
Solgrin ponders the scroll and how best to use it. He knows that Kanchana has a point but why would a council member give him this type of scroll.
Zeoll throws a flame at the closest werewolf outside and over Brahmah's shoulder. His throw is off though and it slams into the ground.
Leets glances to the group but is still worried about Managarm. He had seen his friend struck but then he had blink out, hopefully back to his own plane.
Horatio smiles as he moves to another cupboard and applies an amulet he pulls out from under his tunic. "That maybe so druidess...if this hamlet was not warded against fire." He seems to be rummaging about for something and then he pulls out another scroll. "This one maybe of use as well...a flamestrike if anyone can use it."
The younger council member nods her head as Horatio speaks and points to the open but barred window. "You should be able to cast it from there." She looks upto the hole in the ceiling and smiles. "That would be suicide for most...see the spears...we can set up a trap if they wish to drop in." To put actions to words she moves over and comes back with four spears.
Four dead worgs.
Two dead werewolves.
Two dead wererats.
The two werewolves charge into the battle now. Each one heading for one of the two taurs in the doorway. Both of them slash in with claws at exposed flesh and feral grins upon their faces (hit: 23 and damage: 10 ; hit: 22 and damage: 9).
The wererat on the right pulls out the flaming arrow and attempts to put out the little fire that has started in it's fur
The wererat on the left hisses as it fires off a couple more bolts at Brahmah (hit: 27/30*crit29* and damage: 9/12*crit13*).
The Wold Lord and Amada fall back from each other, each panting and circling the other. They seem to be gauging each other to find some weaknesses in the other.
Sorry, only enough room in the opening for Kale and Brahmah. There are two windows in the front of the council tree, one on the left and one on the right. Figure a -2 penalty to shoot a bolt out of the windows, but no arrows as that requires more control.
Brahmah and Kale are guarding the entrance to the council tree. Brahmah and Kale also get an AOA on thier werewolf.
Toros 48/61 hp, AC 29 (+3 Defensive Fight, +4 Mage Armor, -1 After Rage), Inspire Courage 4 rounds Sunday May 15th, 2005 2:21:10 AM
Realizing that it is not easy to shoot from inside the council tree, Toros will cast Guidance on Flat-top to help him in his next attack (+1 guidance bonus to attack).
It is the first time he takes time to look at inside the council tree. Beside the windows and chimney his eyes also notices the various stuff and weapons inside. Then the searching eyes spot and stop on the three dead bodies. It is the first time he came that close to these and being have to stay in the same place with them does not make him comfortable at all!

Flat-top goes to the winddow, looks it over. It woun't be easy, but with luck it might be doable."
Flat-top will knotch two Bolts and shoot (like a double barrel shot gun! Yet to be invented.)
The only enermy he can shoot at is a wererat at G/12.

Kanchana taps Brahmah with the lighter of her two wands. Healing floods into the minotaur.
Brahmah takes the opportunity that the beast gave him to tear into him as he approaches. He thinks about activating his tattoo, entangle, but does not see enough vegetation to do the job. The trees that make up the buildings in this village are much too tall to do any good.
Flat-top fires off a pair of bolts at the wererat outside the window, from the side he is at. His first bolt strikes true while the second one is off by a little and thuds into a house further out.
Kale lets the dagger in his hand speak for him as he tears into the werewolf that closes on him. With satsfaction he sees the werewolf fall at his feet.
Toros casts a spell of guidance upon Flat-top so that he can have an easier time of shooting out that little window.
Gecktar casts a spell that adds protection to the enlarged Kale. He then waits to see what else he can add to be of assistance.
Solgrin from the other window, that Flat-top is not at, he is able to see just about half way between the two wererats. He cannot really see the one to the left but he can see the one on the right well enough.
Zeoll taps Gecktar for a little healing and waits to see if anyone else is in need.
Leets is in a depressed slump and seems unwilling or unable to pull himself out of it. He occassionally mumbles to himself but you catch nothing of it.
Horatio moves to touch Brahmah again, pouring healing into the taurs body (heal 24). "That should get you farther I think....what is left out there?."
The younger council member busies herself with setting up the spears to stop any would be visitors from falling through the chimney.
Four dead worgs.
Four dead werewolves.
Two dead wererats.
The wererat on the right looks around and goes sort of ghostly white as he realizes that he is alone. He looks back and spots his boss and turns back with a look of pure terror. He fires off a pair of bolts at Kale, knowing that his life is at an end (hit: 34/13 and damage: 9/6).
The wererat on the left is taking stock of the situation. He does not like what he sees but knows that he cannot escape (hit: 27/17 and damage: 7/13).
The Wold Lord and Amada charge back in at each other. The sight of these two going at it is horrifying to see. You see that each is dripping with blood and badly hurt, it is not apparent who will come out the victor but it is easy to see that each is willing to give his life to kill the other.
Brahmah - Gave you your AOA that you did not take. Also held off on your tattoo as it would have had little effect in this area.
Kanchana - That spell would be divine in nature though I am not sure who maybe able to cast it.
Brahmah d20+9=14 d20+4=24 d20+4=9 2d6(4+2)+6=12 Tuesday May 17th, 2005 5:18:45 AM
OOC: What is the green thing the damned rat is hanging out in then? Bush? Tree? If there is grass in the FULLY NATURAL TREE COMMUNITY! the tattoo will work. Perhaps a reminder of the enviroment and surroundings would be good.
And maps of every round are great, please.
Yes, your absolutely right, I never took the AoO.
IC: Brahmah just shakes his head at the stupidity of the whole situation playing out in front of him. "This place sure is barren for 'being one with nature'." He says under his breath, some of confused by the whole.
He drops the falchion(free action) and draws his bow(move action), taking two shots at the nearest wererat that seems confused(standard action). (AC 14 and 24 for 12 damage) Bows aren't his thing, for obvious reasons. One arrow sores off into the great unknown and the other hits a totally seperate target that he was aiming at. He shrugs, happy with his positive mistake. He's happy it wasn't a friend he hit. "Damned arrows!"
(OOC: The reason I haven't attacked is that I have a map from two rounds ago, which doesn't help.)
Gecktar (AC22/24 hp41/57) Tuesday May 17th, 2005 7:53:47 AM
OOC: sorry Toros miss the fact that you give the dagger to Kale.
Gecktar is now low in power and cannot reach any of the werecreatures. He delays his action to see if someone is in need of healing.
Kale(Ac 24, Hps 66/22, Enlarged, Cats grace, shield of faith) d20+10=22 d8+6=9 Tuesday May 17th, 2005 9:36:43 AM
"Thats not going to work." Kale says to Brahmah as he sees him shoot his bow. "You have to use that sword you got!" then, taking his own advice, Kale charges the were-rat that just shot at him(hit ac 22 for 9 pts of damage) then he tells the wererat "Drop your weapon, and you will live another day. Dont, and you die."
Zeoll (AC20, HP45 of 46, Barkskin, Prayer, Produce Flame, Inspire Courage) d8+1=3 Tuesday May 17th, 2005 10:24:16 AM
Worried about the brave werebear, Zeoll tries to see if he can get near her. When Kale charges out, maybe that leaves room for Zeoll to follow? If he can, he will move out to the werebear (up to 40 feet) and then use a charge of the healing wand on Amada. [a measly three! oh well.]
If he can't get close enough, the liontaur will go as close as he can manage.

Toros 48/61 hp, AC 32 (+6 Total Defense, +4 Mage Armor, -1 After Rage), Inspire Courage 3 rounds Tuesday May 17th, 2005 12:57:31 PM
Starting to feel very uncomfortable with the fact that they have to stay in the same closed place with three slayed bodies, Toros also follows the same course of action as Zeoll did and goes out. In total defense, he passes through the wererats and stands behind them. As their escape route is somehow blocked, this could make the were-things think twice, if they want to decide to continue the fight. Besides, Toros will be in a supportive position, if Zeoll needs any help.
Toros-OOC Tuesday May 17th, 2005 12:58:54 PM
No problem Gecktar, :-)
Kanchana (44/44HP, AC 19) d20+7=13 d8+2=10 Tuesday May 17th, 2005 6:57:43 PM
Kanchana wracks her brain trying to think of what she may or may not know about the flamestrike spell. (Spellcraft 13) Meanwhile while pondering the nature of the appearently divine spell Kanchana taps the lesser healing wand to Brahmah; provided Brahmah has not run out into the midst of the attacking weres... Kanchana will not be leaving the seeming safety of the Council Tree yet. (Heals Brahmah 10HP)
Brahmah Tuesday May 17th, 2005 7:44:23 PM
Brahmah turns to Kanchana. "What is that pot full of out there? It looks like molassas."
Solgrin (AC18, HP26/26, Barkskin) Tuesday May 17th, 2005 7:50:36 PM
Looking out Solgrin decides to hold off on using the scroll until a better opertunity happens.
Fight for Life, part XII. (DM Jim) d20+12=19 d20+10=20 d20+12=18 d6=6 d6=5 d6=3 d20+15=19 d20+13=17 d8+5=7 d8+5=9 Tuesday May 17th, 2005 11:54:01 PM The Hamlet
Kanchana taps Brahmah with the lighter of her two wands again and he feels warmth of healing magics again. She ponders the scroll that is held out to her and she knows that it brings down the wrath of divine fire upon an enemy.
Brahmah drops his falchion and draws his bow, but both of his shots are wide of thier mark.
Flat-top fires off a pair of bolts at the wererat outside the window, from the side he is at. One bolt hits while the other flies on by the wererat. He is only happy that it did not hit Kale as he moved in.
Kale charges a wererat and slashes the dagger into him. He then demands that the little rat surrender or die.
Toros moves out and beyond the wererats so that he can possibly cut off thier retreat.
Gecktar holds off to see if anyone is going to be in need of healing so that he is ready for it.
Solgrin realizes that he must hold onto that scroll as the fight is back into melee form. He cannot toast his companions just to get at the little rats.
Zeoll is able to cover most of the distance between the two fighting lycanthropes, but cannot get all the way. He also knows that it would not be a good idea if he does not want to maybe heal the wrong one or get attacked.
Croc comes out of hiding and hopes to get in on some of the soft meat that is available.
Leets is in a depressed slump and seems unwilling or unable to pull himself out of it. He occassionally mumbles to himself but you catch nothing of it.
Horatio continues to hold onto the scroll till the druidess wants it. He figures that she may have a use for it but does not push her to use it.
The younger council member now has those spears set up and she turns to find that the hut has gotten a lot emptier. "What..."
Four dead worgs.
Four dead werewolves.
Two dead wererats.
The wererat on the right is now looking into the face of a very large taur but realizes that he cannot quit, better to die than face his master's wrath. He easily draws the rapier at his side and sends it jabbing at Kale twice and then tries to bite him (hit: 19/20/18 and damage: 6/5/3).
The wererat on the left knows that all is lost but also knows that his life is at an end...he will at least try to take some out with him. He turns the crossbow upon Zeoll as he runs by (hit: 19/17 and damage: 7/9).
The Wolf Lord and Amada seem to not notice what is going on around them. Neither of them has noticed that Zeoll has moved closer to them. It happens so suddenly that noone really is able to believe it. The Wolf Lord topples to the ground with a heavy thud as the werebear stands over top of him panting loudly. The bears claws are covered in thick coats of blood that drips onto the ground. With a roar the bear throws back her head and roars in victory and maybe a hint of sadness as well.
Getting a map out to you. Not sure but if noone gets it please let me know and I will send out another one ASAP.

Dodging projectiles and thanking his Barkskin, Zeoll avoids all damage. He laughs at the wererat and calls on him to surrrender. "You need not fearr yourr leaderr now! Surrrenderr if you seek merrcy!" [Diplomacy 33]
The liontaur steps over to Amada. "Well done! Now let me heal you." He touches her with the wand of healing [6 hp, rerolled a 1]

((A wand of Cure Light Wounds that Brahmah used to carry around until he let Zeoll use it. Is that okay?))
OOC Eunice to Cayzle Friday May 20th, 2005 7:07:52 PM
I am not dissing your actions by any means and am sorry if it sounded like that.
Just to try and explain my POV, by my way of thinking: wands are finite, the Chosen cannot really afford to replace "used up" wands, and therefore NPCs should not be healed by any magical means other than clerics swapping spells for healing (renewable resource!) or healing via the heal skill (also a renewable resource). That's all really I suppose. ;)
(Cayzle, I hope all is going great with your family and your daughter.)
Cayzle OOC to Eunice Friday May 20th, 2005 8:16:29 PM

From another point of view; who cares about the Killer DM - We are the DM Killer! In one encounter, first Kup, then Jim.., well then, does it matter who comes next, ha ha ha ha ha ha!!
Well, just joking of course... Hope Weber brothers can connect to Web and return to Wold, as soon as it becomes possible.
DM Jerry Tuesday May 24th, 2005 2:12:36 PM
Greetings! I, by default, am your new DM! I love this game! I developed this setting if you didn't know. The original story of the origin of the Taurs was 85% me and 15% ACDM Anthony (no longer with us). I tell you this to let you know that I'm proud to be returning to this game.
And to peak your interest, I will give you one spoiler:
We are returning to the Taur Islands soon.
There, I said it.
-----
Now, I need character sheets please. The sooner the better. If I get all character sheets to me by Friday, I will grant the group a +5% bonus to xp the next time we earn xp.
Also note that I plan on giving out xp every scene as an experiment. People sometimes enjoy more instant gratification. This doesn't mean I'll need new sheets that often. I'll only need renewed sheets turned in every module and if you go up a level mid-module after a completed scene.
Cayzle has sent me a summary of what you've been doing. I'm reading the pages as I get time. It's the last week of school so I'm very busy. I hope to post today. So be prepared to jump right in with daily posting after my first post.
Flat-top Tuesday May 24th, 2005 3:13:14 PM
Hears the incoming message from the Creater turned DM. Flat-top runs into the court yard runs into Toros arms, crying out "Oh! No! back to Taur Island. BOO! HOO! <crying) We're going to die! we're going to die."
Toros Tuesday May 24th, 2005 4:27:09 PM
Toros responds to the call for catastrophe. "Flat-top! Boooo Hoooo... We all gonna die. we all gonna die..." Then he calms down a bit, as if recalling something. "Well, when we get back, lets go to barber and dye our hair!"
Brahmah Tuesday May 24th, 2005 9:22:04 PM
OOC: By default you are our DM? This almost sounds like Jim has left the Wold. Whats going on Jerry? I Justin AWOL too?
Will have sheet into you soon. Is there a particular format you like (Word, Notepad, etc)?
Currently, Brahmah is carrying a shapeshifting silver sword he found in Amada's hut. Just FYI. I thought the info is important.
A Prisoner and the Hamlet. (DM Jim) Tuesday May 24th, 2005 10:56:04 PM
All of the enemies are dead but the lone wererat that Brahmah now holds in his grasp. It does not fight anymore but hangs his head in defeat.
Amada comes over shifting back into her taur form as she does, shaking her mane. "I am glad that you helped me out...though I maybe a danger to the hamlet." She hangs her head some as she cannot see them wanting her to be even at her hut now.
Villagers pour out of houses or at least some do as they come to stand by the Chosen. Many of them step forward to shake hands and clap shoulders as they thank their saviors. Then the two remaining council members comes up and bow to the Chosen. Horatio speaks as he looks to not only the Chosen but Amada. "You all have fought to save us from a fate that would have been death to us or maybe enslavement for some of us." Turning to Amada he bows again and extends a hand though you see he has to fight back his own need to drop to his knees. "Please join the council...we have need of your abilities and wisdom in the months to come." He looks around at the villagers who seem to be maybe a little split on this decision but many can see the need.
As the Horatio talks to Amada trying to get her to stay on as a council member the rest of the Chosen make rounds among the fallen enemies. They find many things upon the bodies as they search them.
A decision seems to be made as Amada finally comes to stand before Kanchana. "You seek something...the title of GreenWitch...you have the taint about you of the Mother and a desire to serve her more." She takes in Kanchana and the way she acts as she has from the beginning and at last she speaks again. "You must come with me...only you...back to my hut." She moves towards the gate that leads out of the hamlet as the portal has closed.
Brahmah finally notices that the sword that he held earlier is now just a wood replica of a falchion. It is not even silver any longer though he can feel the perfect balance.
large sword rapier(2) light crossbow(2) leather(2) ring(5) foot long piece of wood(4) boots cape slippers potion(10) foot and a half long piece of wood(3) pieces of parchment(17) platinum(500) gold(4000) gems(20)
Kale also has potions(3), though noone knows but Brahmah.
Ok, to start off with I am sorry that I have not been around to post for the past four days now. I lost my computer in a thunderstorm and am now using our old dinosaur that took some time to get ready. If Jerry wants to make another post after this one or anything that is ok. I am not sure if I am officially back or not but I do not want to shirk my duties.
Toros Tuesday May 24th, 2005 11:38:58 PM

Gecktar exhausted by the fight makes a sign to Kanchana. "Go with Amada, I will look after every one to heal them. You'll be back soon."
Saying that he checks every body to heal wounds order the villagers to gather the corpse of the fallen.
"Those infested with the disease are to be burned. For the fallen villager, well, do whatever you usually do." he says to Horatio.
(OOC Various heal checks for first aid 14, 20, 12, 10, 19 ) Gecktar will cast detect magic on the treasure if nobody else do it.
OOC : happy to have you back Jim. Sorry for your computer.
Kale Wednesday May 25th, 2005 7:06:50 AM
OOC - Kale has 5 potions, unless ive written it down wrong jim
after cleaning the silver dagger off on the dead were-rat, Kale goes over and gives it back to Toros. "Thats a good blade." he tells his companion, then goes over and looks at all the loot.
Toros (48/61) hp Wednesday May 25th, 2005 7:58:20 AM It became good in your hands, Kale Toros responds with a compliment. And actually, it is our amazing Cleric who owns it, as if knowing beforehand that we would encounter were-things. Toros points out Gecktar, returning the credentials and dagger to him. And Gecktar, I think I am not infected with the disease. If you are big enough, they cannot touch you... (OOC: A medium were-thing cannot infect a huge creature according to the lycantrophy rules)
Then Toros goes near the fallen Cerberus to see whether still something can be done for them. Perhaps the rightest thing is following their beloved Master...
Later he finds time and starts collecting all his stuff that he left on the ground, making fun with himself.
OOC: Jim, want to learn something: The were-rat with rapier was able to attack two times after moving more than 5 ft. How was it able to do that, could you please tell your secret? ;-)
Flat-top Wednesday May 25th, 2005 8:08:32 AM
OOC: Good to have you back DM Jim, Sorry about your frid PC.
Flat-top stops and think about dying his hide??'Hmmm! that would make me a beautiful Black Center stud??', Flat-top snaps out of his day dream he look at Toros "Ahh! come on let see what these bodyies have before we burn them."
Brahmah Wednesday May 25th, 2005 9:04:40 AM
Brahmah continues to hold 'ratboy'. "So my furry shapeshifting friend, why did your group attack the village? If you wish to remain alive, I suggest you tell us all that you know. I could always hand you over to these humans and have them extract the information out of you... but I think my way is easier." The taur smiles and grips a bit tighter on the rat.
He turns slightly to a village elder or other villager. "Are any of these folks..." He points to the dead lycanthropes. "...your kin?"
"Chosen, we burn no one body until it is clear what these folks wish to do."
Having his hands full, Brahmah shakes no ones hand.
"Kale, collect all the booty, would you?" He says, seeing Kale look at it.
Thinking to himself, but not stating it outloud, 'Yeah, now the humans request Amada for council. Having a werebear in their midst will be a good thing... as long as she's not their enemy. Sheesh.'
OOC: Chosen, Most common shapeshifters return to their original form when they die, so it is unlikely that they are still in lycanthrope forms... unless they are still alive. ;)
Zeoll and Croc d20+10=14 Wednesday May 25th, 2005 3:09:48 PM
Zeoll calls Croc over, since eating the dead is not all too seemly.
The liontaur says to Amada, "You have shown yourr honorr and worrth today. Do not fearr if you follow the prromptings of yourr hearrt."
Zeoll takes in the scene and wonders out loud, "We have helped this village, so arre we frree to continue to Plateau City? I still wish to know morre about why we werre attacked."

Solgrin moves over near Kale while Kale is gathering up the loot and casts Detect Magic.
Solgrin will also examine all of the Parchment seperating divine and arcane into seperate groups if they are spell scrolls. Solgrin will only review the parchments enough to determine if it is divine or arcane.
"Give me a few moments and I will take a look at all of the potions." Solgrin tells the others.
Anwers and More Questions. (DM Jim) Wednesday May 25th, 2005 11:07:08 PM
The wererat makes no move to try and escape as he keeps his head down in defeat. "The master wanted this hamlet as a base of operations...we were to kill as many as needed and then take the rest for slaves." He looks around now and seems to shrink in upon himself as if he is wanting to hide.
Gecktar wanders through the fallen and heal those that are able to be healed or bandaged for later healing. The dead are soon moved off into the main tree to be attended when things are put right.
Kale moves over to hand over the silver blade that he holds to Toros, telling him of how nice the blade is of his. He finds out a little afterwards that the blade was actually Gecktars, but with the fight it would be easy to forget.
Toros points out to Kale that the blade is Gecktars but that it was a most definite help in the battle and in his hands...deadly. He moves over and finds that the cerberus is beyond all help...they have moved on to be with thier master. Maybe this is for the best after all.
For some strange reason Flat-top is pondering the idea of changing his hair color to black. Then he falls back into the duties at hand and gathers up the goodies with Kale.
Zeoll holds croc back from doing anything that maybe found revolting to the villagers. He does give Amada some advice that maybe needed but most likely not. He does listen to the wererat and finds no suggestion of falsehood in the words spoken.
Solgrin moves over to detect magic among the remains so that others are free to do other tasks he cannot. He finds most of the things magical that have been picked up and layed out in a pile before Kale.
Horatio moves among the dead werecreatures, that are now in thier true form. He shakes his head as he passes each...not knowing any of them. "They are not of the hamlet...except for the leader of the group." He looks to the man that now lays upon the ground and shakes his head. "He was a brave hunter but did not like the fact that he was not chosen for the council...he also wanted to exploite the land around us for personal gain...we had thought him dead." He looks to the vines that still remain in the village and shudders as he looks to them. "Who called upon these things and what are they exactly?" He looks around with a curious eye but is also a little worried. "As for the dead...they will be washed and cleaned...after prayers to both Gargul, Domi and the Wold Mother they will be burned outside the village in the grove." He looks back to the werecreatures and nods his head as he points them out to the villagers. "They will be given the same rights as our own." His tone and bearing brokes no margin for arguement.
Amada is waiting at the gate for Kanchana to make up her mind to leave with her or not. She has left the decision up to the liontaur and will wait for her. She also has a decision to make though she still wonders if she should join the council...she had turned them down once before.

Kale also has potions(5), though noone knows but Brahmah if he remembers (Int DC 12 to remember).
Kanchana Thursday May 26th, 2005 12:08:52 AM
Kanchana will of course follow Amada through the portal. She has every confidence that Gecktar will take care of the Chosens' injuries.
((sorry for missing a post yesterday.))
Kanchana - addendum Thursday May 26th, 2005 12:13:07 AM
Kanchana does hope that someone will take care to include her in the more mundane affair of dividing the material goods since she most likely will not even be in the village while this is being taken care of ?!
Incedentally Kanchana is most eager to join Amada and hear if she at least can help her with her private "quest" to become a green mage!
Brahmah d20=3 Thursday May 26th, 2005 2:46:33 AM
Brahmah calls for rope, then says to the rat. "Transform back to your normal race please." (Assuming it hasn't.)
Then as soon as the wererat is tied up, Brahmah asks, "Who is this master of yours?"
Brahmah doesn't really care that Kale nicked the potions. (Int 3)
Flat-top Thursday May 26th, 2005 7:38:30 AM
Flat-top trots around the compound, looking for damages to fix, odd thing that don't belong to this Tribe. He stops at these bushes "Hey! Captain! Does the Counsel want these thorny bushes cut down?? I'll ask Kanchana and Amanda when they get back, as to what kind of plants the things are?"
OOC to Eunice: I would not Dis. the DM if I was you. It's his story line.
Kale Thursday May 26th, 2005 11:26:26 AM
nodding to Brahmah, Kale picks up all the items and gold and puts them away for save keeping. then he goes over to Gecktar and gives him back his dagger.
OOC, im going to go get all this stuff identified in the catacombs. if anyone has any objections let me know by this time tommrow
Brahmah Thursday May 26th, 2005 11:26:57 AM
"I'm a little busy here Flat-top. You better ask them yourself." He says, giving the rat another tight grip.
Zeoll d20+5=14 Thursday May 26th, 2005 11:33:53 AM
Zeoll takes a look over the magic gear before Kale takes it to the Catacombs. Especially the magical pieces of wood.
Do they remind him of any ancient tale, perhaps a story of druids or some plant lore? [Bardic Knowledge check 14]
"Good luck in your quest," Zeoll calls out to Kanchana.
Then he turns to the job of helping with the dead.
[OOC: No worries, Eunice!]
(OOC: Eunice to Ceil) Thursday May 26th, 2005 12:28:23 PM
((Oh dear. I wasn't dissing the DM Ceil. I was trying to convey how very happy I am that the Green Mage thing is on a roll; so James did not think that I suddenly didn't care.))
Toros Thursday May 26th, 2005 1:45:00 PM
Toros just takes time and relax a bit after all this tough time, wondering around without purpose. It does not help much...
OOC: Gecktar, thank you for the silver dagger.
Gecktar Thursday May 26th, 2005 3:48:50 PM
Gecktar thanks Kale when he returns the dagger : "Thank you friend, I think you better use it than I would" then to Torors "I had some foresight in taking this silver dagger. I think we must all thanks Domi..." he says.
He add for Kale "Maybe should I be able to read the scroll and to identify them so let me look at them " he mutters a prayer for Domi and his eyes glow blue for an instant. He begins to decipher the scrolls.
(OOC: cast read magic)
Solgrin Thursday May 26th, 2005 6:55:39 PM
Solgrin will continue to concentrate on the items with the detect magic and sorting the scrolls.
***** Jim, I stated in my last post that I would sort the scrolls (divine and arcane). *****
So I did sort them for you. You will notice that the treasure list now has 11 arcane scrolls and 6 divine scrolls instead of 17 scrolls total. I will of course allow Gecktar to tell what is upon the 6 divine, but an arcane caster will need to look at the other 11. Hope this helps out. :)
A Little Me Time. (DM Jim) Thursday May 26th, 2005 10:51:17 PM The Hamlet
As Brahmah has ordered the wererat turns back into his human form. Brahmah is left holding a naked man in his hands, that is soon bound up. The man is heavily scarred from what appears to be the whip and beatings. He looks up at Brahmah and his nose seems to twitch. "You killed my master." His eyes travel to take in the form of the larger man that was once the Wolf Lord.
Flat-top finds that he can be of use in moving the dead bodies and helping out the wounded. There is little damage to the surrounding buildings and the fireball that went off at the beginning of the battle has left no mark upon the hamlet, well except for some blackened earth.
Kale packs away the items that cannot be identified by the combined might of Solgrin and Gecktar. This is mostly the potions and scrolls as they can do much with them if given the time to do so.
Zeoll cannot tell anything through his bardic knowledge...specifically, but if he hazards a guess he would say the smaller pieces of wood are wands and the longer maybe rods. The fact that they turned out magical lends an awful lot to this though. He does not say anything as of yet and goes back to helping with the dead. Your druid side feels a light humm within your very blood, the coursing of power that had no been there earlier. Something has changed..that you can tell.
Toros wanders around the hamlet a little though he does not go too far as he keeps an eye on things and out for things.
Gecktar is quick to help out with the scrolls and Solgrin hands him six that obviously contain divine spells upon them. He soon has the spells figured out so that he can tell the rest of the group.
Solgrin concentrates upon the items for a bit longer but gets no sense of evil from any of them, now that he knows what to look for. Well at least he thinks he maybe able to notice it. He will most likely be seated with the rest of the scrolls before long, fingers itching to find their secrets.
The Hut
The walk to the hut seems to take no time at all. Amada draws near her home and frowns as she looks upon the wreck that it has become. She looks to Kanchana who has been following after, not asking much though Amada knows her to be curious and anxious. "Will you help me clean a little first and then onto business?" She does not press but looks at Kanchana to see if she will help, otherwise she will move onto other things.
Kanchana has been feeling a growing pressure in her head, right behind her eyes. It is a surge of power that had not been there before. She can also feel a humm in her blood as well as primal power seems to pulse through her. With the fight over and her senses on other things she can tell that something in nature has changed...something powerful.

Kale also has potions(5).
Chosen, could you please email me with your total experience at this time? Lets say that if I get all of these by Monday then I will reward everyone with a 100XP bonus for this. By the way, yes this is important.
Gecktar Friday May 27th, 2005 2:49:02 AM
Gecktar looks at the scrolls that Solgrim hands him, trying to identify them. "I've no knowledge of the arcane art so I will be of no help for the arcane scroll but these I can identify them I think" he says showing the six scrolls.
Gecktar will them organize a ceremony in honor for the fallen. Maybe some of the council will join to represent Mother Wold or Kanchana when she will be back.
Flat-top Friday May 27th, 2005 8:25:12 AM
Flat-top will chop away at the big bush, "Maybe we can use this as a Funeral Pyre for the bodies?" CHOP! CHOP!
OOC: Flat-top is on it's way to you.
Kale Friday May 27th, 2005 9:31:44 AM
Kale leaves the potions and the scroll with Solgrim and Gecktar and packs the rest away to be identified. then he'll go around the hamlett and check for tracks to see if any more were-beasts might be lurking around
Brahmah Friday May 27th, 2005 10:40:31 AM
Brahmah looks down at the human rat. "Did I?" He smirks. "Well, there goes tomorrows adventure."
He gives the were-rat human a slight tap on the forehead and turns to the villagers. "He's all yours."
Brahmah glances briefly at the loot as its being sorted. Nothing seems to stand out to him as special or unique.
Solgrin d20+11=31 d20+11=24 d20+11=28 d20+11=27 d20+11=31 d20+11=25 d20+11=24 d20+11=12 d20+11=29 d20+11=23 Friday May 27th, 2005 11:46:01 AM
"I can do some of the identifying for the group. I just need to rest and prepare the correct spells." Solgrin tells Brahmah and the others.
Solgrin then begins the process of identifying the potions.(successful on potions #1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 9)
Zeoll d20+12=30 Friday May 27th, 2005 2:01:12 PM
Zeoll pauses, and tells his friends what he has discovered.
"Those arre prrobably wands, and those arre prrobably rrods."
He watches Kale bundle up all the magic for a trip to the Catacombs. When Solgrin volunteers to do some Identifies, Zeoll says, "If you want to catch him, rrun to the Catacombs. That's wherre he took everything."
[OOC: Sam is now posting in the Catacombs to do Identifies. Note that the spell, under the 3.5 rules, has no special power cast by a higher level mage.]
Zeoll also tells the group that he senses a growing change in Nature, and in the power that touches his soul as a druid.
The liontaur decides to do some experimentation.
First, he uses his masterwork drum to set a beat, and he sings an invocation to Nature. [Perform 30] He invites Mother Wold to act in and through him howsoever she wishes.
Through this haunting song, he tries to tap the power he feels coursing in his blood. The druid/bard casts a druidic Charm Animal on a songbird nearby.
After he sees what happens, as a druid, he also spontaneously casts Summon Nature's Ally I to call a wolf to his side.
[OOC: XP info sent to DM Jim (to the jade dragon account). Hope everybody else does the same!]
Kanchana Friday May 27th, 2005 5:57:09 PM
"Naturally I will help you clean your home up, dear. That is a simple, small task to ask for help with. I don't mind," Kanchana answers genially.
As she helps Amada clean up the hut Kanchana reflects on the power she feels coursing through herself and what it might mean. Kanchana tries to "sense" (or make sense of??) what has changed in Nature. Did a balance shift? Will it bode weal or woe for the Great Mother's Wardens?
Toros Friday May 27th, 2005 6:52:26 PM
Toros now focuses his attention on the vine woods, which were almost catching him, as well. He feels lucky not to share the same fate with one of these werewolves that were squeezed by the woods. Hearing Horatio's comments he also starts to wonder what made these woods spring from ground, as originally he has thought that it was the work of one of the druids or witches from the circle... Is the new nature playing another game here?
