These our my friends and I have to help them. There fighting for everyones lives in here. Now do as I say Jella please and stay in the room or atleast up here." Florin is dearly hoping the Jella will realize more when she sees the fighting below. Figures that truely seeing it may prove to her how serious this is.

Tionel snorts. (My apologies about my last attack, made some mistakes about the rolling and stuff, accidentally giving Tionel the stats of a different animal...he still would have hit on the first attack, just wouldn't have had more attacks) He barrels his tusks into the orc he hit last round, trying to tear him to pieces. However, he misses. THe lion roars and bursts into action, attempting to claw the orcs who are trying to move it. (AC 17 and AC 21, 8 and 6 damage respectively on the claws) Its mouth goes wide due to its roar, but perhaps that shakes the bears into action. They two black bears stand on their legs and move to take on the orcs facing Tionel. The first one slaps at the one Tionel hit twice (AC 17 6 damage, AC 17 6 damage) and misses it with its bite (AC 9), while the other one attacks the other orc twice (AC 22 and AC 26 crit uncomfirmed, damages 7 and 7) and tries to chomp into its shoulder as well (AC 16, 7 damage if successful).

Lang swings his Short Sword at the plant scum standing in front of him. "Sunshine attack", Lang says commanding Sunshine to engage the other Orc in front of them (Animal Handling 15). The lion snores on, though pushing it around does make it growl in its sleep unhappily. (I'm sorry, my computer does not have excel, so I could not look at the map...my other computer is at my dad's, being worked on)
He motions and grunts, and the two bears move with him to attack the orcs just blasted by hte lightning bolt. He tears into the first one with his tusks (7 damage), and each of the bears gets one good swing at the orclets standing. (5 damage to the 1st one if still standing or to the second one if not after Tionel's hit, and the other did 5 damage to the second one.)
ADM JIM: Battle at the Ghost, combat round 7 d20+6=20 d20+6=26 d20+6=16 d3+3=4 d3+3=4 Friday June 24th, 2005 1:06:40 PM
The Crimson shields all leap into action, slashing and hacking and biting at foes. There are purple orclet parts littering the area around the fallen Shambler. There are also large droplets of human and elf blood among the leaves and vine covering the floor of the inn.
The combined force of Wynn, Xenia (after a real big yawn) and Florin drop the remaining orclets by them. The same is true for the orclets in the doorway. Sunshine knocks one of its feet and Lang, the big pig and the bears finish off the least scorched orclet. Lang had to give way to make room for the creatures.
The only two remaining orclets in the Inn are the two by the snoring lion.
Those two orclets take up a defensive position over their large lump of tawny fertilizer and seem to be waiting with claws up and weaving.
=======================
Syr regains his sences and cures himself. The orclet next to him is not pleased with the awakening of his plant fertilizer and launches into a full attack.
OOC: I have just realized that the orclets get two claw attacks for their full attack.
AC 20, hit for 4 damage AC 26, failed critical, for 4 damage
The prone monk once again feels the poison from the orclets claws seep into his veins. DC 11 fort save or fall back asleep.
Belkior and Syr see the various plants in the street start to pay attention to them and move toward the inn's entrance, as if drawn by some force or knowledge.

Xenia clutches the hilt of her rapier in two hands. Her chest heaves as she pivots slowly on the balls of her feet.
Gone. They're gone. Well mostly. For now. Time to breath. Breathe more slowly.
Wynn! "Oh Wynn!" Xenia springs to her feet. His poor body is torn and rent. Still, he stands so tall, sword ready.
Just a step and the girl rogue is by his side. Wordlessly, she presses a potion into his hand. She need say noithing. Her eyes speak for her. All those poor cuts and bruises.
"The boy! I saw someone go downstairs!" Xenia hurries to the cellar door. "C'mon up," she shouts. "It's all clear! Hello! It's alright, honey. You can come up now."
Then, carefully she listens.

The halfling cleric swings his mace at the purple orc again, hoping to knock it to the ground. Belkior's swing barely hits the purple orc.
Hoping that he has created an opportunity for Syr to act, Belkior moves back towards the doorway. Standing in the middle of the ruins of the inn's doorway, Belkior fishes a wand from his haversack.

(OOC:Jim, I'm having some problems with email so can not see the map. I'm really sorry.)
Florin thinks of how this situation is going and thinks over the various locations before calling to Xenia and the others, The landing upstairs should be a decent place to fight from where the kids can be safely back from combat and that celler would be esy to defend also."
Florin looks to everyone and nods before going on with his thoughts, "It will take to long to get the kids in one place so we will have to split up and cover both while using the terrain to our advantage. We have only those orcs over there for now so this is a good time to get positioned and ready for the next attack since one is probably coming."
Florin pulls one of his quivers of arrows off his backpack and tosses it to Lang, "Here, your one of our best archers so being upstairs would probably be one of the best places for you so you can help weaken the enemy down as they come in. Anyone else that is a decent shot wth a missi;e weapon should be upstairs to to help weaken the enemies down as they come in."
Florin yells out to Syr as he continues with his plans, "Syr! you going to beable to make it back in here? I'm going to need your help guarding the kid/s in the celler when more enemies come."
Angus (AC 14 with Mage Armor on; HP 24/25) d20+3=11 d20+3=20 d4=3 Saturday June 25th, 2005 9:05:36 AM
Angus sees the group starting to organize a retreat up the stairs (spot 11). He realizes that more of the enemy must be coming from the outside and that Florin wants the group together and in as defendable a position as they can get.
Angus slings a sling bullet at the same Orc he hit last round (k12), wounding it once again.
Sling hit AC 21 w/ Bless; damage 3.
Angus then moves towards the stairs ending up in position P19. He then starts to urge the children up the stairs.

Lang sees the Orcs coming towards the broken opening into the Giggling Ghost (spot 15). He does a quick head count of the enemy getting to about 15 or 16 when he sees the Shambling Mound. He also sees that there are 2 Orcs still alive within the inn.
"We have almost 20 more of the Purple Orcs heading this way along with another one of the Shambling Mounds!"
Hearing Florin's directions, Lang quickly agrees that a short retreat up the stairs and re-grouping is the best course of action. Catching the thrown quiver of arrows Lang and Sunshine move to K13 and J13 and attack the Orc in K12.
Lang swings his Short Sword and Sunshine bites at the plant creature standing in front of them. Locking onto the Orc with his teeth, Sunshine attempts to trip the creature, but is unsuccessful.

Tionel snorts some sort of command, and the bears move out into the street towards those vines which rise up towards them and take angry swings. (first will move up to d14 and attack orc at d15, AC 11 towards one and if it hits, 5 damage to that one, and the other moves to d9 and attacks the orclet still standing next to Syr, AC 25 towards it, 6 damage to that one). Meanwhile, he moves straight at the purple orclet waving its claws menacingly, and thrusts his nose, er, tusks, straight at it. His tusks dig into purple flesh, er, roughage, and he pulls to the right hard, tearing a big hole in it. (Hit AC 22, did 6 damage to it) (The bears are around one more Tionel round, the lion just faded.) Then, as the lion blissfully snores and the orcs guard it fiercely, it simply seems to pop out of existence! Probably enraging the orcs even more.

Stepping back inside, he shamefully faces the others and reports dully, "there are more than a dozen orcs heading this way."
Feeling an ache inside, Syr thinks about his failure to the group. He looks around at the other's feet unable to make eye contact. He especially avoids Belkior thinking it an added dagger that he had to be woken up by a halfling...

Happy calls out to the Children on the stairs. " I have candy, lets go." The kids start to move and there is a severe lurching sensation as the inn pitches forward. Everyone realizes that the Floating city has just been pulled to a 45 degee angle.
DC 21 reflex check or be thrown to the ground and take d8 damage.
There is much commotion and yelling, mostly from the kids. Florin sees a pink dress cartwheel down the stairs and scream until it hits the floor. Jella is unmoving in a pile of kids and Happy at the bottom of the stairs.
Tables and chairs slide wildly around the room, but all towards the shambler expanded doorway.

"C'mon, sweetheart. We're gonna go upstairs. With all the other kids. See?" Xenia peals the small boy's arms from around her legs, then lifts him up into her arms.
"Ohf, your a heavy one. You're gonna grow up to be big and strong. And brave too, I bet."
Then the Wold jumps and rolls. Screams mix with the horrible deafening roar. Rogue instincts kick in, and her thin legs find their footing. She dodges a table as it slides by.
"You alright? You alright?" Her voice sounds high and panicky, and some quiet analytical part of her brain wonders if she's asking herself as well as the little boy. "Hang on tight, sweetheart, we're moving now."
Balancing with the small boy in her arms, the girl rogue makes her way across the crazy tilt of the floor in the direction of the tangled pile of bodies at the foot of the stair.
"You gotta help me now, sweetheart. Alright? Help me get everyone up. We gotta get everyone up, alright?"
"You ok, Wynn?" There's so much more she wants to say. Words that beg for comfort. Words full of hopelessness and despair. But Xenia holds all these words inside. For the sake of the children, for the boy in her arms, she holds all of the words inside.
Healing's not her thing, but the rogue fully intends to try and sort out those who are wounded bad from those who aren't.

As the room tips, he adjusts quickly with a small lean and continues looks out the door, "Guys, the orcs are toting away any citizens they are finding." He reaches out and grabs Belkior by the back of the shirt hauling him inside, "Time for you to get out of harm's way. Folks we have more than a dozen coming for dinner."
The elf seems to have forgotten his earlier failure and doubts as he readies himself for combat (Attack of Opp 26 damage 7). He lashes out at the first orc that approaches. "Florin, Wynn get up here and hold the door."
Calling over his shoulder to the tossled Happy at the bottom of the stairs he asks, "Do you have any secure place that you can lock yourself and the kids into? Maybe any areas that no one knows or some very secure room? We have a responsibility to rescue all that we may. Assuming we finish these guys, we have work to do out there and need you and the kids safe."

"Like Syr says, there's a lot of them out there!"
Belkior ends up 15 feet closer to the centre of the Ghost. After he gets there, he points the wand at Wynn and invokes the command phrase. The bard feels a rush of healing energy from the small cleric of Alemi.

Florin Jadenth-AC:19-HP:60 d20+3=14 Monday June 27th, 2005 11:45:25 PM
Florin is pitched to the floor with the sudden shift of the float again and this time is rather upset when he sees Jella go flying also and when he is able he sits up and growls, "Thats it, the balcony area isn't safe, we might as well get all the kids into the celler now."
Florin looks to Syr and Belkior, "I HATE the idea of sticking our heads in a hole moreless but we all get into the basement and defend that place. They can't all get to us at once there."
Florin looks over at Happy, "Happy? is there anything in the celler that can be used to help slow the orcs down? wine holders or such?"
Florin looks to the kids, specially the older ones and speaks quickly to them, "listen kids, the safest place now is the celler, help each other get down there now. This is important so do as I say. The older kids help those injured if you can and get them downstairs in the celler now."
Florin can only pray to the gods that the building is secured enough not to drop it on their heads but being upstairs to fall all that way could be just as bad."
Florin looks over at Lang since he might be closest to Jella and motions towards Jella with sad eyes, "Check her and get her downstairs please Lang. Becareful with her."
Another thought springs to Florin's mind and a grin crosses his face, "Syr! The alcohol in here...by Domi's fist I didn't think of it till now...alcohol burns...if we can get a fire going in the door way area then the orcs would have to figure a way through it. It would atleast slow them down." Thinking a possibly arguement might come from Happy Florin looks to him, "Saving the kids, our lives and yours is top priority Happy, we need anything good enough to cause a decent fire. Your tavern should have plenty of booze doesn't it? or enough to possibly do the job?"
(OOC:Graping at straws since using the balcony to weaken enemies down with missile fire fell through. Hope my character is still holding up to the leader roll everyone.)

The Wold tilts as do so many of its residents. Kids and tables and chairs slide this way and that. No one know what will happen next. The GG groans under the new strain but holds. Dust floats down on the heros from the tilted ceiling. Children can be heard crying upstairs. Those at the bottom of the stairs are not moving, including Jella and Happy.
Wynn falls, but easily recovers. Belkior runs to the brave warriors side and cures him.

The rogue wipes a tear from the boys face and rumples his hair with a bravado that she uses to try and boost her own mood.
"Why don't you help Uncle Angus to get up on his feet, huh?"

And now back to our battle.
=======================================
Wynn start to sing and jumps into the breach that was once the front double doors of the Inn. The sturcture was damaged by the first Shambler and widened as a result. There are pieces of doorway and wall littering the area.
Belkior cures Syr in anticipation of battle.

Belkior feels the claws scrape over his armor, but not penetrate. Syr and Wynn did a good job of slowing these two down and it seems to have effected their attack on the halfling.

Florin is halfway to the bar, but he can see rows of distilled beverages for the taking.
==========================
A small whimper can be heard from the pile of humanity at the bottom of the stairs, "Daddy" and then quite.
The only child concious is the small boy that followed Xenia over. All of the other kids are in sad shape. Xenia and Lang can see broken bones in most, it will take time to properly heal them.
Happy is less than pleased with his situation. "Uh, Please get off of me." Happy is up, but has a broken arm.
Angus stands and surveys the seen and is not happy. Orclets pushing into the room and hurt children at his feet.
Tionel arrives in his own form with wand out.
Sunshine looks from Lang to the ruined front door and back again.
Those at the bottom of the stairs can hear many kids crying and Daphne attempting to console them

Florin Jadenth-AC:19-HP:59/60 d20+3=15 Wednesday June 29th, 2005 3:44:47 PM
Florin frowns and has had quite enough of this and calls out quickly, "Ajax, come my friend, enemies are here...blood and death await."
When Ajax shows up Florin will quickly pull himself into the saddle and this time pulls up his lance that is with Ajax (ride:15). Once on Ajax Florin pays his noble horse's neck and speaks gently to it, "We break the line as best we can my friend, those kids and our friends depend on us. This is a hour we may remember forever."
Florin yells to Syr and Wynn at the door, "Be ready friends, I'm coming through soon! The alcohol is still a good idea for a barrier maker and someone should try it if able."
(OOC:Next round Florin is charging with his lance and hoping to use his horse to trample the enemy or overrun.)

Syr staggers under the blows but stands his ground (saves 20,16,14). Lashing out at one of the porcs (Plant Orc) in front of him he hits several times (Att 19,23,22 damage 5,9,6).

Wynn reels under the combined attack of the 6 orclets at the door. Despite the poison running through his veins, the bard remains concious [Fort Saves= 19,23,11,19,18].
Weakened by the attack, Wynn tumbles back out of the way of both the orclets at the door, and Florin and his mount [Tumble=26]. Chanting a short elvish verse, the bard channels positive energy through his hands [CLW=9 HP].

The halfling cleric is jostled by the feeble attacks of the two purple orclets. Taking the time to get his armor on turns out to have been a wise decision.
Seeing that both Wynn and Syr have been injured, Belkior knows that he has to keep healing them. From behind him, he hears Florin's shout and the sounds of Ajax pawing the floor. He moves to left, just enough to get out of the reach of the two orclets. Then, concentrating on the prayers taught to him by Alemi, he prepares to cast a healing spell on Syr. Since the orclets aren't using any magic, Belkior uses his Dispel Magic spell and Syr feels another surge of healing magic. Cure Serious Wounds = 19 hitpoints to Syr
Following that, Belkior reaches into his HHHaversack and retrieves a potion vial of Antitoxin.

"Happy let's get these kids upstairs."

Tionel (AC 14, hp 40/46) Thursday June 30th, 2005 5:41:06 AM
Tionel is about to move to help the kids, but sees the problem of the humongous amounts of orcs... His companions simply can't hold them, he worries. "I'll heal them in a second...more bears coming in!" he shouts to his companions, changing his tactics. Ignoring his own words, he changes his battle tactics abruptly, and begins summoning. He uses up another of his most powerful spells, figuring the ten orcs can be slowed with two bears, perhaps taken down if more bears appear...
(When you change forms, you recover as though you rested, aka, 1 hp/level. Also, Tionel's hp is adjusted by the constitution of his current form, thus he had more hp when he was a boar, counting as temporary hp)

Florin summons his warhorse and is able to mount but realizes it will take some serious riding to charge. Many chairs, bodies and tables in the way. Ground is tilted 45 degrees and there are thick plant vines growing all over the floor.
Syr swings at one of the orcs in front of him, pummelling it to the ground.
Wynn tumbles away to J18. He stops singing his song but the others still are inspired for 5 more rounds. He casts his cure healing himself. (Please post where you want to be on the map or you might not like where I put you. Had you travel you entire 30')
Xenia moves to H13 and throws here Alchemist fire. (Al told me via email what it was.) She watches in glee as it spatters the orcs in d6 and sets them on fire. The don't seem to start rolling around but do thrash in pain.
The other 2 orcs take minor damage.
Belkior retreats to f9 but cures Syr 19 points of damage killing dispel magic for it.
Angus looks at the stairs and realizes with the tilt of the building (building is tilted towards the door) he would have trouble pulling himself up the stairs yet carrying any children. He hands a potion of healing to Happy, who quaffs it down. He feels much better but not happy about the situation and the condition of his bar!
All the children seem to be from the ages of 5 to 9. The child in question is unconcious.
Lang moves forward and puts his weapons away and pulls out his bow. He can't get a shot off this round. If he dropped his weapons maybe but not putting them away.
Tionel casts another summon spell. You can do the rolling. 1d3+1. Please post where they will appear and attack rolls for them.
******************************************
Reprieve seems to take place as the two groups of 6 orcs, one group flaming, move away from the door. Syr can see them start climbing the vines heading towards the second floor. Syr also gets an AOO on one of them.
The orcs also attack Syr but he easily avoids them.
Belkior while healing Syr notices another Shambling mound moving towards the door. He is large as well but not quite as big as the one coming in the door now.
The reprieve is short lived though when the large shambling mound rumbles forward attacking Syr hitting him once for 13 points of damage

"Hey! Where did those Orclet's go?" she shoots the question at Syr as she draws another flask of Alchemist's Fire from her pack. "They're not trying to come around and flank us from above, are they? That's not good. Very not good."
Finally, she takes refuge behind Lang and lobs the flask from there. It's a bit far, but the target is big. The flask breaks against it's side and bursts into flames. Less spectacular a burn than before. But that can be fixed too.

Florin frowns at the siutation and hears some of the comments made and frowns even more, "The orcs are climbing up the vines?" Florin glances the way of the stiars and calls behind him, "We have unexpected guests heading upstairs from the sounds.....get the kids down stairs now!"
Florin begins riding towards the door and hears the comments on shambling mounds also and sighs, "I need more running room in here to charge him and make best use of my lance."
If there is no way of getting some of the floor cleared quickly which I doubt then Florin plans to go ahead and use his lance since it will allow him distance.

Xenia slides to the right and throws her second vial of Alch. fire scoring a hit on the shambling mound and a splash on the 2 orcs still battling Syr.
Florin riding Ajax moves forward but is very tentative and decides not to attack. (If you don't give me a square, you might not like where I put you.)
Belkior tries to give a potion to Syr but Syr is tied up right now and doesn't accept it. He tries to move to G10 but draws an AOO from the Shambling mound and his long reach. It lashes out with one of is long vine looking arms and slams Belkior on the head doing 29 points of damage (Critical hit). Belkior is staggered but he does manage to get his spell off casting prayer to aid his friends and hurting his enemies.
Syr bravely stands up to the mound hitting it 3 times doing 42 points of damage to it. (Added in prayer and inspire courage) The monster is staggered but still stays up.
Tionel taps one of the kids on the ground, seeing a very nasty head wound. The child is up but looks woozy. He was at -7
Tionels bears appear outside and attack one of the groups of orcs who are trying to climb the wall.
Angus starts to climb the stairs. Between the normal angle of the stairs and the tilt of the building, the stairs are about on a 60 degree angle. Added to the difficulties are the many rose vines that are all over the place. (DC 15 needed to climb the stairs.) Angus climbs up the stairs just making it up about halfway with a double move.
Lang has Sunshine stay at his side and launches 3 arrows at the mound hitting with one doing 11 points of damage to the mound. (Added in the prayer)

The mound swings at Syr twice only hitting once, but does 16 points of damage to the brave monk.

"I dunno nothing 'bout healing, but the kids are bad. Can we move 'em?" Xenia's voice sounds kind of panicky. "Can we move 'em?"

Xenia throws her flask of oil and laughs in delight when the fire leaps up around the Shambling mound. Of course the room is getting a little smokey and one has to wonder if she is gonna burn down the building in her zeal.
When she asks, "Who is upstairs?" Happy calls back that their are lots of kids up there! "Only some of them fell to the first floor when the city tilted. Must be another 30 orphans trapped up there."
Angus hears this and tries to climb up but his weakened condition and his normally weak muscles fail him and he isn't able to make the climb.
Lang fires his 3 arrows missing the mound once, but still his arrows put the flaming shambling mound out of his firey misery. It falls to the floor almost on top of Syr.
Florin still on Ajax rides up and thrusts his lance at one of the orcs hitting it twice and along with previous wounds puts it down.
Tionel concentrates on healing and stablizes a child but the young man doesn't regain conciousness. He pulls out a potion and another youngster takes it from him and kneels down to administer it to another hurt kid.
( OOC You did no rolling for your bears this round. You need to fight them as well. I won't do it for you.)
Wynn darts in and slashes at the other orc and then darts away. The wound is grevious but the orc is still on his feet.
Belkior heals himself some and replaces his potion deciding the wisdom of not getting to close to big plants.
Syr decides to engage the shambling mound out in the street. He diengages from the purple orc allowing an AOO. The orc hits causing 3 points of damage (Syr needs to make a dc fort check of 11 or go to sleep at the mounds feet! I am assuming you make it here or otherwise your attacks don't go off this round.) Syr pounds a fist and then a knee into the mound hitting twice out of his 3 attacks doing 27 points of damage.
Syr also sees alot of activity on the street. The orcs are climbing the wall and trying to get through some windows but it looks like the kids are putting up a fight! The seem to be trying to defend the windows but it can only be a matter of time.
Syr also notices a civilian in merchant garb being attacked around 20' away by 3 orcs. He is armed with a rapier but it doesn't look good for him.
**************************************
The orc turns and attacks Ajax but misses badly.
The mound swings at Syr since Syr was so effective in cause it pain this round. He hits once for 7 points of damage.
5 of the orcs tear another bear apart causing it to disappear.

Xenia picks her way across the slanted floor, drawing a potion from her haversack as she goes. (Everything you need always on top. Xenia moves over to the stairs and pulls off her haversack and grabs a potion out of it. (Sorry Al to many actions. I would have allowed you to drink it if you hadn't moved this round)
Angus falls and bruises his shin (no damage) on his latest futile attempt to climb up the stairs.
Lang stays where he is and takes two shots at the mound hitting it twice.
Florin jabs at the orc twice and finally manages to kill the pesky creature. Ajax moves forward towards Syr and the Shambling Mound drawing an AOO. Ajax takes a hit for 13 points of damage. (Justin, don't forget to fight Ajax too)
Belkior not having to worry about the orc Florin just killed moves forward with no problems. (Nice idea staying out of AOO range but Ajax and Florin would have taken it this round anyway. You could have moved forward further)
Sly feels a buzz in his ear as Lang's arrows shoot by him. He ignores them and keeps fighting hitting for 24 points of damage. The mound slowly seems to fold in on itself and slumps to the ground.
Tionel heals another child stabilizing them and hands out his next potion. His bear tears into one of the orcs hurting it badly but realizes that he will soon be joining his friends back to the forest awaiting another summoning.
******************************************
The bear's prediction soon comes too as the 5 orcs tear into him and rip him to shreds. They seem frustrated that their kills keep disappearing. How will their Daddy eat?
The merchant is also hit and seems to fall to the ground unconcious his rapier at his side. Two of the orcs scoop him up and start to carry him away, the opposite direction heading away from the Shields.
Syr and Florin look on in horror when the hear a scream and a crash. One of the orphans screaming in fear and panic is pulled out the window and thrown to the hard ground below. The little waif girl hits hard and doesn't move. The other orc moves over to pick her up.
The screams coming from above is truely horrifying. The orcs have climbed into the room and are attacking the kids.
When they look to the west, they see more orcs heading their direction. First 5 are coming soon but others are following. No more mounds are visible right now.
The stairs do not open into a balcony but a closed hallway. To get upstairs you will have to climb/fly up the stairs into the hallway

(I'm assuming that, as you made a full attack, Justin, Ajax moved no further than five feet. At such a distance, he cannot attack as his reach is only five feet. The only target I can see is the purple orc.

DM George Battle of the Giggling Ghost round 15 2d6(3+3)=6 d20=20 Thursday July 7th, 2005 5:07:20 PM
OOC OK folks, lesson time. I have noticed many of you trying to do to many actions in one combat round. You only get a move action and a standard action. Ex. Getting a potion out of a pouch is a move action. Drinking a potion is a standard action. Your done for the round.
If you move more than 5', you will only get one attack. Otherwise you are doing a full attack and can't can't move more than 5'.
I am not trying to pick on any one person. I have seen if from several players. Believe me I understand. When you are in combat, you want to get a lot of things done. My character does it too.
I am not trying to be condesending so please bear with me. I will post the move action and the standard action as I see them in my responses to your posts. If you think I am doing something wrong, please email me and let me know.
Back to the game, Wynn pulls out a potion (movement round) and drinks it. (standard round) He doesn't get to move this round.
Angus moves to the doorway(double move because of distance) and looks around. (free action) He sees the orcs both to the east and the west and he can hear the sounds of yelling and battle not far away.
Xenia drinks the potion she already had in her hand (standard action) and starts to float towards the ceiling. The ceilings here are 20' tall to accomidate those minotaurs.
Belkior activates his seal allowing the Shields to fly for 10 minutes. Only the Shields...not Ajax or Sunshine, the Kids, or Happy. (ooc I think breaking a seal is a free action, not entirely sure but since you didn't try to to anything else this round, the point is moot.)
Lang squeezes past Angus and ends up at c12 and shoots one of the orcs. (Matt see your post for a question.)
Florin sees that the shambling mound is dead, so he moves an engages the orcs attacking the merchant. He only gets one swing since he made a move action and jabs his lance into the orc. The lance doesn't seem to be as effective as normal against this creature and he only does 9 points of damage.
Syr pulls out a potion (move action) and drinks it curing himself. (standard action)
Tionel heals another child. He seems to be getting the better of it and the children on the ground between the potions and the healing seem to be on the mend and out of danger.
*****************************************
The merchant is picked up and carried away by two wortlings. He is still visible. Florin is allowed an Aoo as they try to leave.
The little girl is also carried away. She is just off the map but also still visible.
The 5 bear fighting wortlings start climbing the wall heading for a window.
Another terrified scream is heard from above then a sickening thump follows it. A young boy hits the ground and a wortling starts to climb out the window. The child is unconcious and bleeding.
From the rooms above the kids are still crying and you can here them scrambling around. Cries of "Stay away! Stay back! I want Gordo! NOOOOOO! can be heard from above. Sceams of pain followed by the cries cutting off can be heard to.
Happy with a sick expression on his face says, "They are killing those kids. We have to help them." He starts to climb the vines with ease and determined look on his face.
Syr finds himself surrounded again as 5 more of the wortlings surround him but can't attack this round.
Matt C. Thursday July 7th, 2005 6:06:12 PM
PBSm is the feat Point Blank Shot Manyshot. It allows me to fire 2 arrows using 1 die roll as a standard action. Thus the damage is 2d8 plus bonuses.
MANYSHOT [GENERAL] Prerequisites: Dex 17, Point Blank Shot, Rapid Shot, base attack bonus +6 Benefit: As a standard action, you may fire two arrows at a single opponent within 30 feet. Both arrows use the same attack roll (with a --4 penalty) to determine success and deal damage normally (but see Special). For every five points of base attack bonus you have above +6, you may add one additional arrow to this attack, to a maximum of four arrows at a base attack bonus of +16. However, each arrow after the second adds a cumulative --2 penalty on the attack roll (for a total penalty of --6 for three arrows and --8 for four). Damage reduction and other resistances apply separately against each arrow fired. Special: Regardless of the number of arrows you fire, you apply precision-based damage only once. If you score a critical hit, only the first arrow fired deals critical damage; all others deal regular damage. A fighter may select Manyshot as one of his fighter bonus feats. A 6th-level ranger who has chosen the archery combat style is treated as having Manyshot even if he does not have the prerequisites for it, but only when he is wearing light or no armor.

Florin frowns when the merchant is being pickedup and packed off and also calls to Syr, "Sorry friend, I figured being on horse back, helping the merchant would be eaiser for me and you take the closer of the rwo, plus your pretty fleet of foot." If Angus is too far for the Scorching ray, I do not think he is, he will magic missile for 14 damage.
Angus will level off at 30 feet high. How far to the next level? How high can Angus go? Angus will take this opportunity to scan all directions, so that he can relate the information to the Wildcards.

(OOC: Syr was using the potion of healing that was in his glove of storing, which I thought was a free action. Drinking the potion a standard action and the charge was the move action. After doing some reading, the charge is a full round action so can that please be changed to just a move? That puts him adjacent to the merchant. I'll rely on the DM's discretion, sorry I didn't include the glove of storing.)
Catching up to the orcs carrying the merchant with ease he attacks the orc at d20 (att 16,26,16 dam 11,8,15)
no problem with the glove of storing. Just let me know when you are going to use it.

Xenia moves up the stairs. She sees a wide and long corridor heading to her right as see comes to the top. The ceiling is at 10'. As she flies down the corridor she sees it branches off to her right. She can hear whimpering and sounds of people running around buy doens't see anyone.
Belkior takes his swing but misses and then moves to up to 5' off the ground and to C11
Lang shoots 3 times hitting twice wounding 2 orcs who are fighting Syr. Sunshine moves forward to defend his human friend.
Florin thumps Ajax in the side moving the warhores forward. He is able to stab the creature once with his lance. He thought he would do a little better but still did 7 points of damage to the wortling. (ooc piercing weapons due 1/2 weapon damage to these creatures. Justin I suggest you read about mounted combat in the PHB. You need to make a ride check when you get into combat. Rolled for you this time and you made it but you will need to roll in the future. George)
Tionel summons hippogryphs. The will come next round and he gets 4 of them.
Angus moves forward and casts his spell scorching ray burning the orc badly. It falls to the ground having already been injured in previous battle.
Syr does get to drink his potion last round decides to try try and run down the orcs carrying the merchant away. He opens himself to all kinds of AOO. He only takes one hit and 4 points of damage but must make his fort save 11 vs sleep. Assuming he saves he runs over and kicks one of the wortlings holding the merchant. (after movement he only gets one attack) He attacks the same one as Florin causing it to drop dead. The merchant spills to the ground and is being dragged by the remaining wortling.
****************************************
The 5 remaining wortlings after being abandoned by Syr move upon the easiest and closest prey who happens to be Sunshine. Since they only have to move 5' they can get full attacks. Sunshine is hit 4 times and falls unconcious at -7 hps
Up above 2 more children are thrust out the window. One is fighting and screaming, the other seems to be asleep. They first hits, landing almost in the standing position, and screams in pain as you can hear his ankle snap. The boy immediately faints from the pain. The slightly older girl lands on her head and you can see that her neck is broken and she is dead.
Two wortlings climb out the window climb out the window and start working their way down towards their prey.
The final wortling singlemindedly tries to drag his prey away getting 40' further and off the map.

Xenia takes a quick look behind at who's maybe coming up this way to help the kids. Her heart leaps in her throat when she sees that it's Wynn.
"I hear the kids, Wynn," she sends a terse whisper behind her.
Her rogue's sense of orientation says the front of the Ghost is to the right. Cautiously, she peeks around the corner. The poor kid who got thrown out the window was down the street to the right. That means they'd be in a room to the right.

Hopefully that destroys all of them. And somehow, Tionel can fly... First he taps the poor girl, Jella, Florin's favorite, with the wand. (9 hit points restored) Hopefully the kids are fine now, and the hippogriffs will be able to handle most of his surrounding enemies, Tionel thinks to himself...for he hears cries from upstairs and outside. That means only...the kids are being thrown outside. He speeds through the air towards the doorway and steps outside (fly at 60 feet, right?, first towards F11, about 45 feet, forward to E11 5 feet, takes an attack of opportunity if the p3 orclet at D10 is still alive, as he moves to d12) and gauges the situation. He is still holding his wands.

If there are opponents beyond that, Wynn will stop 10' from them and allow them to approach.
If not, he will follow behind Xenia, potentially entering either of the two rooms. He will stop 10' from any opponents.

Florin nods and sighs when he hears and sees the kids going out the window and gives Ajax a gentle kick, "We need to help those kids Ajax, come on buddy."
Florin looks to Syr and speaks quickly and with some concern, "becareful Syr."
Florin will ride Ajax as fast as pssible to where the kids are falling and give Ajax orders to stay and try to cetch or do what he can for any kids going out the window.
(I figure it will take Ajax a full movement to get to the window landing area. If not then Florin will start using the flying ability granted him by the seal used to go up there. Good job on the seal also.)

Xenia, flying, rounds the corner of the hallway ands sees an empty hallway. She starts moving up the hallway when the door on the right bursts open and out in a panic come several screaming terrified children. "Help!!!! Auggghhhhh..... I want my Mommy.....I want to go home....plus general crying and sniffles. The children see Xenia and hope re-enters their eyes. The start moving towards here with arms outstretched.
"Help us...Please help us!" Just then the door on the left is thrown open and several purple orcs come out. The children scream and draw back in terror."
Al because of the confusion of the situation, I will say you pulled out an alchemist fire and have it ready.
Tionel's hippogriffs rip into three of the wortlings. Two fall to the ground with their wounds from previous combat and one stays up. OOC Their are 5 of them...the numbers represent how many are in the square, not an identification number.
Tionel cures Jella and see looks around and asks, "Where is my Daddy? I want my Daddy!" Tionel flies to the door ignoring the little girl and arrives to attack next round. (By healing you took your chance to attack away this round)
Belkior drops to the ground and heals Sunshine for 17 points of damage but the dog sleeps on. When he did this the remain 3 wortlings got AOO on the cleric. (ooc you moved down into range of the wortlings. Typically you can take a 5' step back and cast to avoid the Aoo but you did the opposite.) All 3 of the wortlings miss so the spell goes off without problems.
Wynn is on the heels of his lady love and rounds the corner to see the children coming out and then the door bursting open revealing the wortlings
Syr moves forward off the map and attacks the remaining wortling dragging off the merchant. He easily kills it with his first 2 blows. The merchant is sleeping but alive at his feet.
Angus swoops down on the little girl he saved from being carried off. Tears leap to his eyes when he sees that she is dead. The fall combined with the claw wounds must have killed her. (Jim figure the bottom of the window is around 20' up in the air)
Florin guides his horse under the window which is only around 15' away and leaps into the air. (What weapon are you using? Right now you are carrying a lance) He flys past the decending wortlings and looks into the window. He sees a wortling at the window carrying a sleeping child in its arms. It tosses the child out the window. To the street below. Florin recognizes the girl. Her name is Tina and is one of Jella's playmates. Florin needs to make a dc save 15 to catch the girl vs reflex
Lang shoots 3 arrows. The first strikes deeply into the one the hippogriff is fighting, killing it. The second 2 wound the fourth one.

Tionel's hippogriffs attack. 2 tear into one and kill the orc. The third tears into another and wounds it.
Tionel thinks the closest person in the need of saving is the merchant or possibly one of the kids from the falling window. The kid is the closest. He rushes over there giving the wortling and AOO which hits the yound druid. To keep the game going, I rolled Tionel's save and he made it so he only needs to take the damage.
Unaware of his surroundings, Tionel bends to cure the boy setting himself up for 2 more AOO from the wortlings attacking Ajax. He is hit twice and takes 11 more points of damage and needs to make 2 more saves which I will allow you to do.
Xenia throws herself at the wortlings and they try to grab at her but miss with their AOO. The children follow her advice and dart down the corridor behind Wynn. Xenia follows them there still flying
Angus flies to a double window and keeps his hold on the girl. He isn't able to see much because a Wortling is climbing out of it, while another monster throws a kicking boy down to the cobblestones below. He is basically next to Florin at a twin window.
Angus can try to catch the boy with a reflex check of 15. He would have to drop the girl if he does.
He does hear the sounds of crying and whimpering. It sounds like a lot of kids are still in that room.
Belkior flies up to the windows but can't get in as Angus and Florin are already there.
Wynn starts to sing, inspiring courage...The only effected ones are the children and Xenia. Everyone else can't hear him.
Syr picks up the merchant and flys into the Giggling Ghost (only get 60 movement while flying but it is faster than running at this point.)
Lang shoots the remaining orc and kills it but it takes both arrows to finish the pesky creature off.
Florin is stunned into inaction by what he sees and Jella's friend falls screaming and clutching at Florin all to no avail. She lies in a crumpled heap down by Ajax. Ajax too is stunned by the horror he feels in his connection to Florin and does nothing this round.
Florin can take an AOO on the wortling who is climbing down this round. ***************************************
Ajax is attacked by the 2 wortlings who climbed down last round twice and once by the wortling who climbed down this round. Ajax takes 8 points of damage and needs to make 2 saves dc 11
Xenia sees the 5 wortlings ignore her group but rush across the hall where she hear fresh screaming. Sounds like they found easy prey.

Tionel moves in and cures the girl, but risks deadly sleep... He's almost asleep, almost...but...must...stay...awake! (used a hero point for a reroll if htat's okay :) )
(I looked at the maps and really can't tell which orclet's attacking me. I got attacked by 1 for going into its square and 2 more aoo for bending down to cure someone...that's 3 orclets, and I only see one that can attack me at D15, and that's on E16)
Tionel draws his scimitar (doesn't provoke according to table) and attacks the orclet, but misses. (AC 7)
(Also, according to the maps, there's no more orclets on the first floor, so the hippogriffs have no viable opponents there, hence this):
Tionel gives an order to his hippogriffs: attack the orclets attacking the merchant! They charge down the street, and tear into the orclets. (Unless there are orclets that are near us, I'm totally confused at this point) Hip1: AC 22: 8 damage Hip2: AC 24: 6 damage Hip3: AC 28 not crit (AC 9): 7 damage.
Once a wortling/orclet is killed, I remove him from the map. You might want to look at the previous map first. Two of the 3 wortlings were killed by your hippogriffs. You were attacked by the third with an AOO when you left to go over to help the kids being dumped out the window. Then Lang shot the third wortling, causing me to remove it from the map. The dark rogue zips down the hallway. "We'll rescue the kids up here!" she calls back over her shoulder.
Fast approaching the first door on the left, Xenia listens for activity, before glancing in to make sure nothings gonna be coming out and attacking them from behind.

Syr flies down the stairs of the basement and lays the limp body of the merchant at the bottom. While there, he takes a quick look around to see how secure the area would be if the group retreated to it. Assuming everything apears normal, he flies toward the center of the inn.
Looking around he is dismayed as he sees the entire group spread out throughout the building and surrounding area. Raising his voice he calls out to all who can hear, "GUYS! We are running around with no purpose! Everyone outside come back in and regroup. The 'griffs can protect the door. Anyone upstairs, block that darn window and let me know if you need reinforcements. I want all children in the basement, NOW! Any that can't make it have to be helped." Trying to add some order to the situation, he looks up hoping for an answer.

OOC Guys, real life got to me today. I am gonna make this one short and sweet.
Florin gets his aoo on the orc as it climbs down but doesn't get his follow up attack. He is still at the window. (Sorry Justin, the orc is already gone. Wasn't sure if you wanted to move so left you where you were.)
The hippogriffs fly over and attack the wortlings near Ajax. All three hit, wounding the vile purple orcs.
Tionel darts bravely in and cures the young girl stablizing her. She reaches up and throws her arms around his neck sobbing uncontrollably.
Xenia rushes into action. She sees the room on the left is empty but the room on the right is filled with enemies and innocent bystanders. She hurls her Alchemest fire starting one of the plants on fire.
Ajax starts rearing and stomping the orcs as well and one falls dead under his deadly attacks
Syr runs the merchant down the stairs and then comes back up. He barks some sound advice. Wonder if anyone will follow it.
Angus in a rage wounds one of the orcs, (please identify which one please by his location.) He then swoops down and will be able to pick up the girl next round.
Lang looks down at his friend and then up at the remaining orcs. Though they aren't threatening him, he still decides to shoot them and kills another one off.
Belkior, tears streaming down his cheeks carries the dead body down to the ground, immediately knowing the boy is beyond his ablities.
Wynn shoos the children down the stairs while keeping up his singing. All the children, run for the stairs but aren't quite sure how to get down them. Several of them fall in the hallway over roots and the sloop of the building.
The children already downstairs herded by Happy start making their way to the basement.
************************************** The wortling who dropped the child last round start climbing back down the side of the building.
Xenia and the others look on in frustration as the other attack children in the room. All 5 are successful in hitting children and blood and screams again fill the room. Each child hit wounds cause them to fall unconcious.
Florin gets another chance to redeem himself as another wortling walks calmly up to Florins window and tosses a child out and then starts to climb out the window. Florin catches the tyke with a dc check of 15 but he will have to drop his sword to attempt it. Otherwise the child takes another 8 points of damage. Looks like it will die if that happens.
The last one orc on the ground attacks Ajax again and hits once for 6 points of damage. (please list Ajax's current hitpoints.)
I will send updated maps tommorrow.

The hippogriffs tear into the orclets with a vengeance. If the orclets are still surrounding that they attacked last round, they get in more attacks. The first (claw AC 20 6 dam, claw AC 12, bite AC 21 crit not confirmed damage 5) is perhaps the most devastating, the second (claw AC 13 6 dam, claw AC 24 5 dam, bite AC 2) does allright, but the last (claw AC 10, claw AC 16 5 dam, bite AC 5) is pathetic. But more likely, the orcs have moved. If so, hte hippogriffs each choose their own nearest orclet and charge! (AC 15 damage 7, AC 13 damage 8, and AC 13 damage 8)
In any case, Tionel uses one arm, his free one, to pick up the girl who is sobbing against him. His other arm uses his scimitar to catch the orclet off guard with a quick stab that catches it in the neck! (AC 24, crit confirm AC 14, if it's not a crit it does 5 damage (+1 from bardsong), otherwise he gashes it through the throat for 13 damage). If the orc is not standing anymore (which, given Florin's closeness, is likely), Tionel follows Syr's advice. He picks up the other boy lying there, the one who is hurt, and carries both of the children in his flight inside and towards the basement entrance.

Xenia wades into the room. Raising her mace, she clubs the burning orclet that she had just hit with the chemical fire.

Then, she pulls into a defensive stance, waiting for orcs to come at her.

For the moment, just stay here and help Happy with getting these children to the basement." If anyone else makes it back inside, "Everyone else upstairs to help carry children or kill the orcs."
Syr avoids the wreckage of the stairs and flies straight up to the 2nd floor. Seeing Xenia he smiles weakly, "Purpose reporting for duty, ma'am! Move out of the way and get them downstairs, we've got help coming." He uses his flight to sail over the intervening children and tries to get into the room with all the kids. As the group runs and fights weariness is starting to set in. Moving on the roots with the slope of the city and exhaustion is starting to take a toll. Everyone must make a consitution check dc15 or get -2 on the hit rolls and skill rolls.
Tionel watches his 3 hippogriffs pounce on the lone remaining orc this round tearing it to shreds. He gathers up the children and moves back into the Giggling Ghost.
Xenia calls for aid and then rushes to attack smashing her weapon into an orc staggering it for a second. It is hurt and on fire and holding a child who is also being burned cradled in the fiends arms.
Belkior tries to get to a window but finds Angus and Florin in the way. He decides to fly under Angus and see if he can catch any falling bodies. He does! He catches a small girl which is thrown out the Angus's window. She is hurt and he casts a healing spell on her. (You can roll it.) The bleeding stops and she wakes up and smiles a sleepy smile into his eyes.
Wynn charges up next to Xenia and delivers the death blow to the burning wortling causing it to fall to the ground and the burned child to spill from its arms.
Syr starts flying up the stairs and down the hallway but can only get partially there. He can arrive next time.
Angus is stunned for the round and can only watch in a sick fascination as children are snatched up and carried towards him to a window.
Florin successfully grabs the kid and craddles it in his arms.
Lang bends down and scoops up Sunshine and staggers into the Giggling Ghost.
*********************************************
Two more orcs drop their children burden and push their way out the windows. Belkior catches one. What will Florin do? He already has one child in his arms, can he catch another? DC 20 reflex save to succeed.
All the orcs crowd around the window. Only 2 are left carrying burdens which the will surely drop next round.
One orc swings at Florin after he catches his prey but misses.
The other having no child to scoop attacks Ajax but misses.
Happy herds the kids down the stairs hopefully to safety in the cellar.

Tionel nods in response to Syr, hoping that his fellow elf doesn't see all the tear streaks and redness under his eyes... He hugs the two kids to him under his arms, holding his wand still somewhat dumbly. The hippogriffs take a flanking position outside, waiting for any orclets to come near the entrance. Meanwhile, Tionel hurries down the stairs after Happy and puts the two kids on the ground. He glances at them to make sure they at least look okay (Any obvious wounds, or are htey like dead? Tionel flying carries the children downstairs but can't quite get there this round. (I am taking the stairs entrance to be at the bottom part of the depicted map. Not quite sure why, just the way I envisioned it.)
His hippogriffs flank the door and don't let anyone else in.
Xenia stalks over to an orclet and smashes it. Since it was already wounded in slumps to the ground.
Wynn and Angus gang up on the other and their combined efforts see the creature dead on the floor.
Syr starts herding the kids away. They only seem to anxious to go.
Florin, to his horror, sees yet another child fall. He tries to grab him but the burden is to much and the child falls and lands on his head. He lands hard and from the obvious distorted neck the child is dead.
Ajax starts stomping and biting and puts down another wortling.

Tionel d20+3=21 Monday July 18th, 2005 2:49:32 AM
Tionel gets to work downstairs as best he can, looking at unconscious child first as best he can. Belkior, the healer, will do a much better job bandaging any youth, he knows, so he merely does that. He saves his healing wand unless the case seems critical (the kid is at -6 or more). (Healing check DC 21 for examining youths) (An examination action) Next, Tionel prepares the kids for further tilting of the tree. If it tilts suddenly anymore, they could all fall again, and he doesn't want that to happen to any of them. So, he finds all loose objects that are still above the tilt and moves them so they won't fall on top of anyone. Barrels and wine counters are pulled to the side or staggerred out of the way. He has all the kids move towards the tilt's bottom, and press against the wall. Just in case it tilts anymore, they will not fall a distance. "Okay, kiddies, I know you've been in a panicked state, but I want all of you to move down the tilt, to the bottom. Okay, now just in case anything happens, we won't fall...Good!" ((This is speaking but takes two rounds, as Tionel probably spends moving stuff like barrels and such, then does this:)) "Okay...we're almost secure. Just wait." Tionel ties a rope to the railing of the stair, just in case the room tilts so much that they need to climb to get out. (take 10 on the knot) By then everyone should be down in the basement with the kids. He heads upstairs, saying, to his companions "While you guys secure the bottom here, I'm going to go out and search for any survivors that need aid, as a bird. They can't catch me, and changing makes me heal.. Close the doors behind me!" Tionel immediately changes into an eagle and flies out through the open doors or a window. By then his hippogriffs should be shimering out of existence.
Of course, that's merely a rough guess at what will happen in the next few rounds. If anyone else wishes to suggest to Tionel he take a different or additional course of action, he will do so. But he wishes to go out and check the town's area, especially hte fighting. Other survivors would be incredibly good to rescue.

Then, he patches up all of the members of the Crimson Shields using his wands. I'll roll the healing spells in another post and adjust the wands accordingly.
Finally, he rummages in his pack and passes out some flasks of Antitoxin to the frontline fighters. 4 flasks, to whoever wants them.
To the other Shields, he asks "Are we going to fortify the Ghost and hole up here? Or are we going to go out and try to help those other people to reach the Ghost?"

One drop. Two drop ....
Xenia holds stock still griping her mace in two hands. Children cry. Sounds, fighting, screaming, other sounds drift in through the open windows.
But no more purple orcs. It's over.
Is it over?
It would be so nice to just stop. Drop down on this slanted floor. Hug one of the kids and have a good cry. It would be so much easier.
But they might come back. Who knows when the next bunch will show up. From the looks of the vines outside, there could be more. Tons more!
The dark rogue takes a cautious peek out the window. (Spot 29, Listen 30) Looks ok for now. Still, they could be back at any moment. What's safe? Can they be safe? Where can they go? For now ...
... maybe just dig in.
"Alright kids. Lets go. Down the stairs. We gotta all collect together so the big people can protect us better, 'K?" C'mon. Lets go."
Xenia takes a moment to hug her special guy. "Thanks Wynn." She reaches up on her toes to give him a peck on the cheek. "For comin' with me."
With the other arm, she hooks Syrdeth in as well. "Thanks, Syr. For comin' to rescue us."
"Alright kids, lets go. No running! Just keep moving steady. It's tricky walking on this floor."
At the top of the stairs, a coil of silken rope drops from the haversack to plop down onto the slanted floor. Xenia ties off knots before tossing the end down the stairs. Some of these kids climb like monkeys. But, for the others, the rope should help.
Its a comfort to see Tionel tending to the fortifications below.

Syr (20/62 AC17/16) Bless,Inspire, Fly Monday July 18th, 2005 8:25:11 PM
Syr has the grace to look guilty for his earlier comments as Xenia includes him in her group hug. Seeing the threat gone, he replaces the healing potion in his purple glove. He continues to herd the kids gently down to Happy in the cellar. Looking around he makes sure everything is secure so that no barrels or casks will roll into them if the building tilts again. As Belkior offers the antitoxin he takes it with a shameful bow of his head, "Sorry about earlier and all that, I never thought I would be the weak one to fall asleep. I'll make it up to you in the future."
Florin Jadenth-AC:19-HP:59/60 Monday July 18th, 2005 8:46:12 PM
Florin covers the child he carries eyes just incase he is awake and so that he doesn't see all the dead children on the ground and slowly floats to the ground and then places the kid down on the ground, "Stay by me for the moment."
Florin takes the time to sheath his sword and feeling guilty about all the kids laying dead outside he takes his rope and eases as many on to the back of Ajax and ties them down to atleast get them into the GG. Florin can also carry one since the child he saved should beable to walk.
Once the kids are secured and everything he will lead Ajax into the GG and get help to unburden his horse. Florin will go back out to carry any kids in he was not able to get in already.
Once he finally makes it inside he looks around and sighs deeply at how much carnage has been done and speaks up, "Okay everyone, how are we all doing? Just incase we need to be ready to move, remember the Float has been tipping and we do not want to be here if it is pulled all the way over."
Florin glances outside when the comment on helping the others is made and he closes his eyes as he speaks up, "Most of us are weakened, tired and need rest and everything. we could really do little more for anyone out there other then being in the way or possibly becoming a casualty ourself." Florin is pained at saying this since he feels obligated to protect the people out there but also knows his sword arm is getting tired and weakened right now with need of rest.
DM George Monday July 18th, 2005 10:42:24 PM
All of group gather back into the Giggling Ghost. Many of the children are to scared to try and climb down the stairs and the group resorts to picking them up and flying them down.
In about a minute, the merchant wakes up with a start and bolts to his feet. He is crouched in a fighting stance staring wide-eyed around him. Terror is in his eyes as he looks for foes and a weapon.
It takes around 5 minutes but all of the children are taking down into the basement where Happy is trying to entertain them and comfort them. He has broken out some honey mead and is giving it out to the overdistraught children in an attempt to calm them down. He takes a couple hits himself as he looks around at his wrecked bar.
The whole 5 minutes passes without much of anything happening.
Belkior has plenty of time to cure people, just let me know who and how much please.
Both Angus, Wynn, and Lang seem strangely quiet. Could it be they are in shock?
Tionel Tuesday July 19th, 2005 4:49:13 AM
Tionel spends much of that five minutes boarding windows and using nails and hammer to get everything shut but the main entrance. That he leaves halfway open, but puts plenty of tools next to it for sealing it if need be. Then he goes up to the rooms and retrieves blankets and pillows, bringing them downstairs for the kids to use to cushion each other and so that everyone can rest some. All of this is a lot more difficult with the room at a slant. Now Tionel realizes something else. "We cannot stay here forever, just hoping this will go away, you all know. If the City continues to tilt... well, we'll have to get out of here. Somehow get to the water and make boats to the shore. Also, I bet you the upper level is more guarded. There's probably plenty of mages and such there, that can help us. If we could only bring the children to them... We should try if we can rest tonight, to bring them there tomorrow. But in the meantime, I am going to scout out there to see if anyone is about.
And so, Tionel changes into an eagle and soars out of the inn. He flies about at an altitude, watching the streets for signs of activity.

Wynn works alongside Xenia, moving the children into the basement. He jokes with them in an attempt to keep up their spirits. Eventually, Wynn stays with the children and dredges up some memories of childhood and begins to sing some songs with, and for, the children.
As he does so, his mind is turning over with the effort of devising a funny song about the plant monsters. But he can't manage, right now, to find any lightness in the day's events.

Something in her heart swells three sizes bigger and feels like to bust out of her chest. She blinks away the tears that sting at her eyes. Is it bad to feel so happy with all of the terrible things going on?
"Um .. " she chokes back a sniffle " ... I'm gonna go upstairs and keep watch on the street. Won't be far."
The dark rogue takes up a position in the second floor window. The spot offers concealment, and a prime view of the street. But it screens off sound of possible approach.

Moving over to the halfling he tenderly shows all his wounds, "You know, if it wasn't for those two mound thingies, I'd be in alot better shape."
As Belkior touches him with the wand he thanks the small figure, "Remind me to bring it up the next time we have any loot to split but I think a full share should go toward healing items. You are doing a great job of watching everyone's back."
Moving over to Florin he whispers, "Umm how about we bring the bodies inside and put them in a side room. I'd prefer the children stay in the cellar and not see the ... results?"

The Crimson Shields all react to the horror of the last battle in their own unique way. Tionel starts fortifying the Giggling Ghost. It takes him much longer than 5 minutes to find wood and tools. Happy helps provide some but he mutters, "This is a bar, not a lumber yard."
Tionel after 20 minutes is able to somewhat repair the front door from the shambling mound attack.
Others gather the children close and comfort them. Angus brings in a dead child and sadly lays him down.
Belkior goes on a healing spree much to the relief of the others. His wands are smoking from overuse but everyone is pretty happy.
Sunshine wakes up and licks Lang's face. He seems happy to be alive as well.
Syr starts cleaning up the bodies. It is a large job moving the shambling mounds and dragging the wortlings is just plain tiring as well. With the tilt and the vines it will take quite a while to move the bodies.
Xenia goes up the stairs and keeps watch. She watches a parade of plants skitter by. Mainly wortlings in two's and three's, the occassional mound and even a large tree like creature slowly moves by. Nothing seems to want to come into the Inn though.
20 minutes have passed during this interval. The group is feeling better, and the children have calmed down. Happy is even able to break out some provisions and feed the group and the children.
Please reflex the 20 minutes on your existing spells. The fly spell is gone.

(OOC:Putting Florin at full hitpoints, the post will explain.)
Florin takes a moment after getting the kids inside and nods to Syr when he comments on what he does, for a split second he touches himself and uses a single point of his lay on hands to heal his minor wound from the fall he took earlier.
Florin thinks a moment and will help move the dead kids to any room that will be easy to close up. Once all the dead kids are inside Florin kneels for a moment and whispers a silently prayer, telling Domi how brave the children were and to give them his blessing and also to ask Gargul to guide the Children's spirits home and let them find peace.
Florin looks up after his prayer and sighs before his mind kicks into gear on something, "Jella! is she alright? I haven't seen her since the fall....is she down stairs?" Florin stands, worried about Jella and his mind cycling through their argument earlier and he hopes she doesn't hate him for being like he was, even if he had to help his friends and she should know that.
Tionel (hp 23/44) Wednesday July 20th, 2005 6:58:19 AM
Tionel sticks to fortifying the inn and looks about concernedly. He continues working on the windows, and basically busies his body so that his mind will stay distracted from the true horrors going on just beyond the inn itself. Report. Food. Potty break.
Xenia leaves the window and scurries down the rope.
Making some quick food in the kitchen, (Sam Witches and other finger food) she lays it out on a table for the kids to take. To the guys, at work on various things, she brings a separate plate and a glass of water.
She stops by Wynn, taking some time out to massage his shoulders and the muscles at the back of his neck.
"Maybe we should just leave," she whispers. "I mean, things are so wrecked. Maybe this is the end of the City. I don't know what we can do. I don't know what's left here for us."
"Maybe we can go to where your from, huh? Or maybe Dirt City and I can introduce you to Marcus and Sliver." The dark rogue rolls her thumb and forefinger across his skin at the juncture between neck and shoulder.
"But you've got your oath to Bralin, right? That's pretty important." She leans down to place a soft kiss just below his ear. "I'll stay. If you stay, I will too. We'll fight this. And ... and we'll make it better."
Quickly, she wraps her arms around the bard from behind and gives a gentle squeeze.
"We will."
Then the dark rogue grabs some food and water and returns to her lookout on the second floor.

The halfling cleric realizes that he has failed to heal Tionel, probably because the druid was so busy securing the doors of the Ghost. Belkior moves over towards the doors and uses his wand to heal the druid. Healed for 24 hitpoints
The healing completed, Belkior returns to the basement where the party has placed all of the surviving children. He looks about the room, seing the injuries and the fear of the children. He's not very good at this part of healing, but he's heartened to see that Wynn has taken it upon himself to entertain the children. Still, there is something that no Shepherd is without, especially a halfling. Belkior reaches into his pack and removes some of the high-energy snacks that he always carries. Rather than simply passing them out, he moves to beside Wynn and suggests a singing game with the candy as prizes.

Wynn [AC=19; 42/46 HP] (Sub JohnP) Wednesday July 20th, 2005 1:45:41 PM
Wynn sits in the basement room, trying to keep the children's thoughts away from the horrors that they have just witnessed. When the darkr rogue slips into the room with a tray of finger foods, he leads the children in a hearty cheer for their provider.
"Hooray! It's Xenia with the food, the food, the food! Who's our favourite one? Xenia with the food!"
When Xenia massages his neck, he rolls it and feels the cracking that has been getting worse over the last while. The strong, supple hands of the rogue manage to ease the knots in his neck.
While the children devour the food, Wynn whispers back to Xenia. "It's been a rough couple of days, hasn't it? Getting away sounds so good, right now. Going someplace where there aren't any plants trying to kill us or destroy the city."
"But you're right. I did make that promise to Bralin. And I haven't completed that yet."
When Belkior suggests a singing game with his halfling trail snacks, Wynn wracks his brain for ideas. After a moment, he launches into a song that gradually draws the children in.
Syr (60/62 AC19/18) Wednesday July 20th, 2005 1:51:51 PM
Syr begins to move the bodies then realizes the only bodies that he has to move are the children's (shoulda specified that). With some effort, he takes the kid's bodies into a side room and out of sight from everyone. He makes sure that the shutters are tight preventing any orc things from entering before leaving them. Moving over to Belkior he nods with his head and says with a hushed voice, "Not sure if you want to say a small prayer but the ones that didn't make it are in that room."
Looking at the others, "Well, I've had a much needed rest. Do we take the kids to the dock and take our chances on land or hole up here and wait for things to settle down?"
Lang (ac 21; hp 50/55) & Sunshine (ac 19; hp 47/47) d20+6=22 Wednesday July 20th, 2005 9:44:35 PM
Lang tries to put the thoughts of the dead children out of his mind. If he dwells on it there may be more if any more of the plant scum try to enter the Giggling Ghost and he is distracted. He spends some of his time helping to secure the building and gather the dead. Lang will also look out the window and try to determine what is going on in the city (spot 22/26).
What to do that is the big question. Lang mulls over the Shields options, not happy with any of them. Lang will address the group at a time when all or most are present to hear him.
"Well this is not exactly the best situation to be in. We do not know what is going on in the city. Leaving the building may prove deadly for anyone. Staying here may be worse in the long run. We must make contingencies to try to move this large group down to the docks to get off the island. Do we send out a scouting party to scope out the surrounding area? Do we sit still and hope for the guard to regain the city?"

The group mills around still recovering from the battle. Tionel keeps up his work while the others prepare food, comfort the children, and clean up after the battle.
The discussion starts where to go next. Should you stay holed up? Right now your situation seems safe enough. What if the city tips completely over? Basically a death sentence for everyone but especially the children. Of course taking the children out into the monster fill streets, seems suicidal as well. Should you send a scouting party out to explore? Very risky. Splitting the party up is always something that can come back and bite you.
The streets still seem quiet...almost to quiet. Is something out there waiting for you?
Florin Jadenth-AC:19-HP:60 Thursday July 21st, 2005 12:53:41 AM
Florin glances outside and sighs, scratching his horse's nose for a moment as he thinks over this whole situation, "We have a serious problem no matter which way we go about this. Stay here we have a certain death if the place tips over and if we go out there then we might become monster food. I don't like the idea of drowning but I certainly don't want to be eaten or see kids eaten on the way to the docks...anyway, where from there? the woods that is trying to kill us? who knows if the elves will even except us there now."
Florin racks his mind for any idea and sighs as he looks to Syr, "We are running a risk either way we go here." Florin walks to the basement stairs and calls down, "Hey Wynn, come up here for a moment...everyone meet in the main area of the GG."
Florin waits for everyone to gather before speaking up now, "Okay everyone, here is our problem. We stay here we risk the place being tipped with us and the kids in it. We leave we risk the monsters getting us if they so desire and I think some of us are to tired to really fight a whole lot more. I'm the leader I know but I will not risk the kids and all your lives on my call this time.:
Florin looks from face to face, "Personally I hate the idea of drowning if it comes to this place being tipped, however I want all your opinions. We risk the docks and leaving and maybe shelter away from the Float or we risk staying here."
Florin motions towards Ajax, "If we leave for the docks I can ride slightly ahead of all of you and atleast give warning if we are coming onto a possible fight. Ajax I think can move faster then anyone here. Thats leaves you all with the kids to protect them while I ride point."
Florin rolls his vizor helment in his hands and smiles slightly as his ice blue eyes show a steeled resolve, "Also you all know I would hold the front as long as I could for you to possibly get the kids well protected." Florin smiles, still, he is proud to adventurer with such noble people and is willing to risk his life in this case to make sure they make it away safe, "If we go, Lang you better hang on to those arrows I lent you to use. You might find more use for them. Sorry there not of better quality but my archery isn't the greatest."
Tionel Thursday July 21st, 2005 6:16:55 AM
Tionel looks to Florin at his plan and shakes his head. "Bad idea... and besides, where were you when we were being attacked, Florin? You weren't helping us at all down here.." The elf glares at their leader, frustrated, then calms down. "I'm sorry. You tried your best, I'm sure. It's just..." he sighs. "We can't go right now, no matter how much we might want to. We have to hold out. Maybe tomorrow, when our spells return, we might have a chance."
Belkior (AC 21; HP 38/40) Thursday July 21st, 2005 7:22:21 AM
The halfling cleric looks about the Ghost, seeing the damage that the assault on the Floating City has caused. While listening to FLorin, Belkior thinks upon the options available to the party.
"I agree with Tionel. Each of us who cast spells is too spent and wearied to risk venturing out. And we're too few to protect all of the children out in the open."
"If we're downstairs and the Float tips further, we can simply move to the walls. Or, if it goes all the way over, onto the ceiling. I mean, the Ghost looks to be holding together better than most of the new construction in the City."
Belkior thinks for a moment of where the Ghost is located in the Floating City. For the life of him, he cannot recall right now whether the Ghost is on the "down" or "up" side.
"Plus, I don't know enough about the City to know if this level would even be underwater if the entire City turned over."
Wynn [AC=19; 42/46 HP] (Sub JohnP) Thursday July 21st, 2005 7:26:15 AM
Wynn is worn from his efforts to entertain the children. While he climbs from the basement to the common room, he keeps listening for sounds of distress from the basement. Once he is on the main floor he drifts over beside Xenia.
"I can't decide right now. Maybe we should go, maybe we should stay."
Unconciously, he reaches over and grasps the hand of the rogue. Then he leans over and whispers, What do you think?"
