Gecktar
Sunday June 26th, 2005 3:17:36 AM

Gecktar looks at the enthralled elves not really understanding what's happening.

"Well about chopping trees I thing that Kanchana and Zeoll may have some objection." he says.

"Well now we must have another solution. What about just travellng a bit along the river if there isn't a more convenient path ?"

Solgrin
Sunday June 26th, 2005 2:35:35 PM

Solgrin starts to head up the other direction from Kanchana looking for another way across trying to stay in view of the other Chosen while doing this.

Kanchana  d20+10=14
Sunday June 26th, 2005 8:05:24 PM

Kanchana looks sceptical as the elves do not answer or even look at her. 'Strange.'
Then a voice in her head makes her stop dead in her tracks. 'Mother Wold has never spoken of power before. She speaks of protection and nuturing. It feels like part of Nature though...' Kanchana thinks. 'Is this false? Some type of pretender?'

Kanchana feels very unsure and turns back towards the others. She looks for some sort of confirmation, a validation of what she has heard. 'Mother guide me!

The tug and the feeling of power is enticing, but it doesn't really feel like what the druidess is wont to feel from the Mother.

"Nothing is ever free..." Kanchana tells herself. Kanchana waivers somewhat in her beliefs, but still is uncertain about the source of the feeling and voice. (will check 14!)

Kanchana retreats back to the others as something; some one, giggles and a bell rings from out of nowhere. She fights the urge not to say out loud; 'I know they can't hear me, I saw that for myself!'.

"Did any of you feel a strange surge and hear an odd voice?" Kanchana asks the others; her uncertainty clear in her voice.

Zeoll  d20+9=10
Sunday June 26th, 2005 11:43:02 PM

Zeoll listens to the voice and remembers how his Animal Summoning and Charm spells worked so well.

"That sounds prretty good to me," he says, totally missing the more sinister nuances. (Will save nat 1!)

The liontaur calls out, "Frriends of Naturre! Show yourrself and we will talk morre of this powerr."

Zeoll wonders. "Something seems out of place?"

Flat-top (Sub Jay B)
Monday June 27th, 2005 2:30:43 AM

"We should wait for Kanchana and Solgrin to return."

Kale
Monday June 27th, 2005 6:46:09 AM

"My boots would only work for me and you." Kale says a bit defensivly. "Id need four of them for the others."

Toros
Monday June 27th, 2005 8:53:07 AM

When Toros receives no response from the Elves, this makes him think that the special bond between him and the elves is coming to an end perhaps. Surprised to notice the strange sitution that his Druid fiends are involved, Toros comments "Hey Zeoll, Kanchana what is going on, what is that surge and voice are you talking about??!!"

Brahmah
Monday June 27th, 2005 2:35:25 PM

Brahmah raises his hand to Kale. "Okay, okay, I get. No problem." He smiles.

"Hey, why haven't those elves answered?" He asks, just noticing the elves.

Pixie help. (DM Jim)
Tuesday June 28th, 2005 12:44:25 AM

As if you had not asked for it three pixies pop out of nothingness. The one in the middle steps forward and cuts a bow, a smile never leaving it's face. "We maybe able to help." The two on the outside of the middle one turn their heads as if to look at the one in the middle, obvious surprise upon their faces. The one in the middle stands and then looks to each of the Chosen in turn. "You need a way across and we deem you worthy enough to help out." You do notice that the tinkling of bells is partly the sound of their voices as they talk, as if constantly laughing about something.

The elves have moved on another hundred yards or so, away from you. It is true that the do not have seemed to notice you or anything out of the ordinary in this direction.

Brahmah
Tuesday June 28th, 2005 5:53:54 AM

Brahmah whispers to Kale. "Pixies are untrustworthy tricksters."

Kanchana
Tuesday June 28th, 2005 8:04:14 AM

Kanchana doesn't know what to say about the voice et.al. really.

"You didn't hear a voice talking about power and taking power?" Kanchana worriedly asks Toros.

Kanchana takes a minute or so before noticing the itsy bitsy Pixies.

Kale
Tuesday June 28th, 2005 9:15:45 AM

"I know." Kale whispers back to Brahmah. "Tell them we dont need their help."

OOC - is the water frozen with it being so cold?

Gecktar
Tuesday June 28th, 2005 10:12:43 AM

Gecktar wince from surprise when the pixies suddenly appears.

"Who are you ? and what are you doing here. Is it your territory ?"

"Well thank you for trusting us worthy of your attention. But how do you intend to help us."

Development ACDM Cayzle
Tuesday June 28th, 2005 11:27:37 AM

Friends, the DMs of the Wold had a conversation last year about Taurs. We agreed that we had to revamp the rules for them. The new rules for Taurs are now under review on the Rules Board. Since every player in this game will be affected, I encourage you all to visit the board to comment.

Thanks!

Flat-top
Tuesday June 28th, 2005 3:42:03 PM

"Pixies! Ah! Yes! Pixies! The laugh and trick people, just for the fun of it. We Have met some of you folks back at Center Island Where there was a problen with the Bleu Wine. I remember It was a Satyr with a big tirsh for the wine. Quite an adventure and a lot of fun." Flat-top tell the rest of the party. But he'll wait for Kanchana to get back.

Zeoll  d20+20=38
Tuesday June 28th, 2005 6:17:55 PM

Zeoll, still entranced by the idea of the power in nature, and remembering the happy experiences the Chosen had with sprites in the past, steps forward.

"Hello frreinds! That is verry kind of you. We would be grateful forr yourr assistance. And maybe we could have a sit and a chat. I bet we have storries to tell each otherr." [Diplomacy 38 to befriend them.]

Solgrin
Tuesday June 28th, 2005 6:57:01 PM

Solgrin looks around for the source of the voices then after a few moments spots the pixies. Solgrin then smiles at them and says "that would be of great help."

Solgrin then looks to the other Chosen and waits to see what happens.

OOC: Jim, could you please let me know what I found if anything when I went looking for a way across.

Brahmah
Tuesday June 28th, 2005 8:01:22 PM

(OOC: Sam(Kale), fast moving water, rapids anyway, rarely freezes due to its sheer speed. However, if magic is afoot, I would think anything is possible.)

Looking at the pixies, at Kale and thinking about the diplomatic solution, he says. "Fey are worthy folk, however, we know many are also tricksters. What can you say to make us believe you?" He askes with a smile.

Toros
Tuesday June 28th, 2005 9:41:04 PM

"Now I see..." Now that he can see the Pixies as a justification of what is being heard Toros makes sense a bit better of what is going on. But he does not understand why these cute creatures are treated like that - that Chosen should be careful of them, they look so lovely and pretty!!

Fae in the pot. (DM Jim)
Tuesday June 28th, 2005 10:42:58 PM

Solgrin returns from his little look around to find the pixies offering help it would seem to the group. He had found not other ways around the water, as it seems to stretch all the way from Plateau City and then way out as far as you can see in the other direction.

Little trust is given to the pixies as some of the Chosen seem to have thier doubts about these notorious tricksters. Zeoll is one of the few that steps forward to try and make friends with the pixies, his full charm is turned in that direction.

The lead pixie smiles at Zeoll but frowns at the rest of the group, a sour look upon his face. "Well that would be a chance you must take." He looks to Zeoll and then takes on a new tone as he speaks, seeming almost enamored with the taur. "Yes...stories, dance, drink and much singing....that is what is called for here." He claps his little hands and the other two shakes their heads, moving off to the side. Within minutes four large tables are set up with no chairs, set in a sort of cirlce. With another clap of his hands the tables are suddenly filled with the most mouth watering treats and food as you have ever seen. Pitchers of scented wine send waves of fruity fragrances in your direction.

With a howl of pure delight the three pixies decend upon the meal as well, eating and drinking as the watch the group. The lead pixie motions for Zeoll to move over and be next to him. "We have heard of one called the Fae King that has returned...seems he was beaten for the time being by a group of little halflings...amazing creatures halflings." He smiles as he takes a drink from a crystal goblet. "Parnath is also rumored to be gathering forces for an aparant assault....I do believe that is where those elves were headed." He waits for that little bit of information to settle in and see if anyone has any other questions.

Kanchana will remember seeing the halflings fighting a satyr, the Fae King? while she was at one with Mother Wold. She has also seen this flooding that they now face so that they can reach Plateau City.

[Will DC 18 or feel the great need to feast at the tables: anyone that fails will move to the table and begin to eat and cannot be persuaded to stop this round]

Brahmah
Wednesday June 29th, 2005 4:14:34 AM

The Captain doesn't even resist the feast, he hasn't eaten in two days and is starving. He eats, drinks and drinks and drinks. Hunger has over-powered reason.
"Oooo... spiced apple cider!"

Wednesday June 29th, 2005 5:46:25 AM

Gecktar looks at the beautiful meal served on the tables. For an instant he was unable to resist but shaking his head he stays where he is for a moment trying to remember something about Parnath.

Flat-top after hearing of the Spice Apple Cider, Flat-top advances to the table BUT stops? One of the Pixies mention the Fay King also something about Parnorth??
Knowing he's being watch, Flat-top will start to dance (he will do the High Land Fling) "I Hope this will fool then for a while, At least until he can figure out what they want and Whitch Taur is under their Comtrolle?"

Kale  d20+2=8
Wednesday June 29th, 2005 9:57:10 AM

knowing that its a mistake, Kale none the less goes over and begins to eat and drink with the pixies. "This is good." he mumbles as he stuffes his face(will save of 8)

Zeoll  d20+9=11 d20+6=20 d20+20=28
Wednesday June 29th, 2005 1:04:36 PM

"Mmmm. This looks so tasty!"

Zeoll enjoys the meal with gusto.

In between bites, he tells his new friend, "You know, we have two trrained barrds in ourr company, including myself. Afterr the meal we can enjoy some rrevelrrie."

[OOC: Bardic Lore check 20 to know about Parnoth]

"You know, I must admit I have hearrd little about this Fae King. But as a drruid I have felt the strrength of Naturre lately. And I know that Parrnoth is the evil drragon rrulerr of a forrest rrealm. Is that nearr herre? If the Fae King is against Parrnoth, then that makes him a good guy in my song."

"Speaking of villains like Parrnoth, we have had experrience with some bad guys of ourr own. We arre headed to the city yonderr to find out morre about ourr own enemies. Yourr aid in crrossing this turrgid rriverr, after the food and song, will surre be a big help!"

"By the way, my name is Zeoll. And who is the host of this wonderrful feast?"

[Continuing Diplomacy roll 28]

Kanchana  d20+10=28
Wednesday June 29th, 2005 3:30:28 PM

Kanchana politely declines the food and drink, "thank you kindly for the offer but I am not really hungry right now." (Will check 28)

Kanchana remembers the images of halflings and a fae creature.

"Tell me more about the halflings please. I know so little about those people and their deeds," Kanchana asks the pixies politely.

She also remembers the images of flooding and concentrates hard to try and remember the details of that "vision"; she hopes to try and remember whether or not she "saw" any solutions to their current dilemma or not.

Solgrin  d20+6=15
Wednesday June 29th, 2005 3:41:00 PM

Solgrin accepts the food and drink offered by the pixies with out any pause. (will save 15 Failed)

Toros  d20=9 d20=8
Wednesday June 29th, 2005 9:21:29 PM

Although he wants to taste all these nice food Toros resists to his usual cheeky greed (9+10 > 19, failed to eat the pixies food) and eats his own food besides others and joins the conversations "I am sort of on a diet, trying not to be tempted by delicious food. However if you want to have some fun just call me." When he sees Flat-top starts dancing, Toros acts to provide a background melody for his dance (perform check, 13).

OOC: Well come back Ceil, nice to know that your health condition has recovered.

Pixie feast and festivities. (DM Jim)
Wednesday June 29th, 2005 10:41:40 PM

Those that eat find the food to be the best they have had in a long time. Though you eat to what would be classified to excess you still find that you are having no ill effects.

Those that do not partake of the food find that whatever they eat does not seem to have the most satisfying quality about it. In fact the more you sit and smell that food the hungrier you get (Will DC 20 or take to the table to have your fill).

The lead pixie looks to Zeoll and nods his head. "Sorry...the name is Flip or that will have to do as my name is a little long and I do not like to have to say all of it." He looks around to the others and smiles though he does seem a little hurt by the reaction of some. He turns back to Zeoll and nods his head again. "Yes Panath is the same one that you are talking about. The Fae King has taken arms against him and several others or so it is told. Giving power to the Fae Folk especially the elves...who sang the song to bring him back." He snaps his fingers and more music takes up to accompany the song of Toros and the dancing of Flat-top.

Looking to Kanchana he smiles and motions her to at least take a seat near him so that he does not have to crane to see everyone. "Ahhh...those halflings met the Fae King in the Culverwoods...born to one of their own kind from what I hear but perverted to come out a satyr. He lead a fight against the druids that had showed up to stop him and those daring wee folk lent a hand. Seems he lost that little fight and had to lick his wounds. Though none of us would have expected it from that group...newly began you understand." As he speaks Kanchana remembers what she saw and it matches many of the details. She also reflects upon the floods that she saw but remembers nothing that would be of use in getting across...though she did see some "GoldDragons" making the ditches that you see with magic.

Gecktar is able to pull up most of the same knowledge that Zeoll does about Parnoth. This is one very bad dragon that rules by might but is still respected by some as he does not overstep his bounds as much as most dragons.

Flat-top  d20+4=11
Thursday June 30th, 2005 6:24:16 AM

Flat-top is getting weaker ans hungry as he had put the last of his energy into a dance. He stops dancing (all out of breath) and ask the piexies "I'm very thirsty! may I have some of that sweet cider?".
Flat-top will take a big mug of the Sweet Juice and will not be able to resist the food, becauce He's hungry as a horse."

OOC Please don't beat me guys, hunger will make you do strange things?? beside I did not make my save.

Solgrin continues to eat while listening.

Kanchana  d20+10=14
Thursday June 30th, 2005 9:30:25 PM

Kanchana sits down near the pixie and takes some food; however she will drink water with the food. Kanchana will do her best to eat only a small portion of the food since she vividly remembers the pixie food from that strange inn...

"Somebody 'dug' those new channels for the water now blocking our path, I seem to recall. Who or what are "golddragons"?" Kanchana asks the pixie hosts politely.

(will save 14... failed)

Zeoll  d20+6=11 d20+13=31
Thursday June 30th, 2005 9:50:16 PM

"Flip, it is a pleasurre to meet you and yourr frriends. Herre, trry a piece of this! It's delicious."

The liontaur listens with a bard's ear to the story of the Fae King's birth.

"I'm confused." he says. "I thought the Fae King was awoken, not borrn. Wasn't he asleep somewherre?"

"And why did drruids attack the King? That doesn't sound rright." Zeoll ponders (makes a bard lore check of 11 -- and he IS a druid) ... "I have hearrd that cirrcles of drruids with differrent goals will strruggle with each otherr. It must have been something like that. Maybe the Monsterr-Favorring drruids oppose the Elven Factions?"

"Well, Naturre, rred in tooth and claw! She does love a good fight!"

If the meal is winding down, Zeoll will take out his drums and start a simple tune (Perform 31!).

Toros  d20=9
Thursday June 30th, 2005 10:32:27 PM

Toros's mind remains indifferent to the meal offered (same roll as last turn, 19) but his tummy does not do so (with the increased DC, 20, now failed, he he). The liontaur looks at his own food he is trying to eat and the delicious food he is trying not to eat and others are enjoying... Then he takes the initiative and, as a full round action uses his claws and both hands to attack the food.... .... .... Hmmm, perhaps he should have enlarged first to be able to eat more of these so tasty food.

Pixie information. (DM Jim)
Friday July 1st, 2005 1:17:26 AM

A pixie to the right of Kale, not Flip, hands him a pipe that he pulls from thin air and then a pouch as well. He hands them over and smiles. "The weed is rather mellow and you should like it." He pulls out another pipe and lights it up after putting in some of the same weed. He lazily blows smoke rings into the air and sighs.

Flip looks to Zeoll and Kanchana and nods his head. "Our kind were kind of wondering that as well." He gives a slight smile as he speaks the next bit. "We area notoriously tricky race and know how some minds work...that and we would not want to be tricked ourselves." He pulls out a pipe and puffs on it a little as he thinks over the questions. "I believe and this is only speculation mind you...the Fae King was only like a spirit resting but needed a physical body to come back in...it appears that he has chosen one and then adjusted it to suit him." The pixie shrugs his shoulders as he thinks some more. "We figure that the Fae King was beaten only because he has not reached his full power...as for the druids..." He shrugs and then blows a few more smoke rings himself. "Surely you have felt the changes in nature lately...the power is nice and all but at what cost and did Mother Wold approve of this?" He leaves you all with some very good answers and more questions to boot...ohhh it makes the head hurt.

He turns to Kanchana then and smiles though he is slightly surprised and you can tell it. "The GoldDragons are a group based in the city that you travel to...they are most likely the most well known group to ever adventure on the Wold." He waves his hand and the tables are gone and everyone finds themselves laying upon cushions. The invisible band continues to play softly as you sit around and talk.

Flip gives Brahmah a smiles that tells his is about to reveal something that maybe surprising. "It may seem unusual but we know of the quest that your group is now taking." He waits a few seconds and then continues with his information. "I know that what he seeks is an ancient weapon...a sword. As to where it is that is something that even we do not know...then again it is a tainted blade and we do not want it." His face takes on a sour expression and he shakes his head. "Though to see it destroyed would be nice." His face takes on a pained expression as he looks to all the taurs in turn. "You must also know that the war has begun in your own lands and at it's head is Vargas...he crusades to put Marteaus on top and the taurs under his thumb." You notice that he sees no humor in anything that he is telling you, in fact he seems rather upset.

Kale
Friday July 1st, 2005 6:58:55 AM

after taking a drag from the pipe, Kale lies back and relaxes on his large pillow. he listens to everything the pixies say, and he knows he should be worried or upset, but food was too good and the smoke soothing, so he just lies back and looks at the sky, letting the effects of the smoke roll over him.

Flat-top
Friday July 1st, 2005 7:32:12 AM

Is enjoying his meal, he was hungrier that he first though. He eats on UNTIL he hears the part of Taur Island... He stop eating, a tear come to his eyes, as he remembers how they had to leave their home and island to the High Cleric's Army. As all three Hight Cleric demamde that they turn over the two special Taurs and their mothers. He is glad that they are safely hidden away.
Gloom passes over his face, turns to Brahmah telling him "I have to go back! Captain! We have to go back! Even if it means my life. We have to go back!"

Brahmah
Friday July 1st, 2005 7:35:35 AM

His eyes are stone cold. "He will not succeed. If Vargas is the head, he searches for his fangs. We can't allow him to get it."

He looks at Kanchana and nods toward a private corner of the gathering. He stands, walks to the farthest corner and waits for her to get close enough for only her to hear (and the few invisible pixies).
"Are you sure this blade you have isn't what he's looking for? We REALLY don't want to serve him 'The Weapon' on a golden platter!
What did Amada say EXACTLY about this sword?"

Gecktar  d20+8=10
Friday July 1st, 2005 10:13:38 AM

After taking place at the table and eating some of the meal (will save 10), Gecktar is just satisfied when all plates disapear.

He begin to puttogether the puzzle : an ancient sword, the Fae king looking for the sword, Vargas leading armies to assay the power of Marteus, Kanchana ownoing an ancient sword...

Zeoll
Friday July 1st, 2005 5:30:34 PM

The liontaur laughs as the food disappears, and again when he sees that their fey host is deeper than he let on at first.

"Frriend Flip, you know morre than you say, and say less than you think! I suspect ourr meeting herre is not the rrandom chance that it seemed at firrst. Cleverr Flip, you have given us a good chunk of news, and that's forr surre."

Zeoll muses out loud. "Varrgas taking his warr to ourr home ... searrching forr an ancient tainted sworrd ... "

Zeoll, lost in thought, reaches his hand into his thick mane. He scratches his head as he thinks aloud "... an evil sworrd ... a sworrd that has been touched ... a black sworrd ..."

The liontaur wriggles his fingers deep into his mane. The beads and feathers braided into it click and click and click. The liontaur tugs at his locks, gripping tighter "... 'a blade of darrk and grreat powerr' ... 'lost, but some seek it' ... "

Zeoll's voice takes on a new timbre, the sound of a trained bard reciting words he has heard and memorized. His fingers are now deeply entangled in his hair and in the vine he was given by the tentacle plant, that he wears like a wreath. He pulls and pulls as his voice continues calmly.

" ... 'You will know the sworrd when you see it' ... 'jet black' ... 'and rreeking of an evil aurra to all' ..."

The liontaur is now pulling so hard that his hair starts to give way. His damaged scalp leaks blood down his forehead and cheeks, but Zeoll does not seem to notice. He says, in a loud commanding voice not entirely his own:

" 'I will not have my work used in such a way.' "

You might notice that Zeoll speaks these words with no trace of his usual accent.

The liontaur breathes hard. He catches his breath for a minute. Then he looks around at Flip and his friends. "Parrdon me," he says in his usual voice, wiping blood from his brow as if it were sweat. "I think I nodded off therre for a second. Too much good food. And it's so warrm!"

"Anyway, Flip, tell us morre about this evil sworrd. Something about it sticks in my mind."

Toros
Saturday July 2nd, 2005 1:15:07 AM

Toros does not know what to comment, trying not to beaten by his could-be-misleading first reactions. He takes note of what he has heard to be used when the suitable time comes and just listens. He is not hungry anymore but continues to take some occasional - routine bites from the remaining food of his own. It is same for his drinks too.

Solgrin
Saturday July 2nd, 2005 3:29:21 AM

Taking the occational bite of food Solgrin continues to listen to the others and begins to think on what has been happening.

Pixie play. (DM Jim)
Saturday July 2nd, 2005 5:31:54 PM

Flip listens to what is said, that he can hear anyways and shakes his head. "Tis nothing really...we do not get to talk much with anyone." He glances to Zeoll and smiles again. "From time to time we like to just visit and chat...though most have taken up with the Fae King...our kind that is...but...." He just shrugs as he seems at a loss for what to say really. He does have his doubts and so do the two that are with him but they will not put their necks out yet.

Pipes and weed are passed around to those that seek it. It is a mild weed that is pure to the taste and leaves an aftertaste of butternut. The discussion goes on amid the ghostly music that the pixies have conjured. To tell the truth it is rather relaxing for all of you, though you have gotten some things to think about.

Kanchana has a feeling that the sword that she holds is meant for something else. A sword that has been talked about would be hard pressed to hide it's taint that well. This blade has the feels of power in it but one meant for good...it also has a sense of nature around it that is strange in this type of metal sword.

Kanchana
Monday July 4th, 2005 1:11:56 AM

Kanchana heads off after Brahmah.
She reiterates what Amada told her.
"I believe this dratted thing might be that sword. It doesn't feel tainted tough - not evil anyway - but it is most likely cold iron and I would imagine that fae would think that tained only for that reason."

Kanchana looks off in the direction where the city should be.
"I think that the Gold Dragons are supposed to have this sword though, and once they have it ans Solgrin has got what he needs from that guild of his we find the quickest way back to the isles."
Kanchana looks over at Brahmah to see whether or not he thinks she said anything useful.

Toros
Monday July 4th, 2005 5:38:52 AM

The open talk about a very dangerous weapon that Kanchana might be holding and this great coincidence to meet such generous pixies suddenly makes Toros think over again what is going on, and raise some questions. He does not express them yet, but just to make sure there is nothing troublesome he casts a Detect Evil spell, trying to attract attention as little as possible from the others, which should not be a problem as he is just seeming to enjoy his food on his own, sitting on one corner of the table.

(Hope you do not mind to update Toros's spellist with Detect Evil Spell, after our paladin, Leets, has left us)

Solgrin
Monday July 4th, 2005 5:44:08 AM

Solgrin continues to listen to what the others have to say then looks to Brahmah and Kachana. After a moment Solgrin then quietly asks the two "so, is it a battle magic or support type of mage you looking for?"

Kale
Monday July 4th, 2005 6:58:45 AM

"You all worry too much." Kale tells everyone as he looks up at the sky. "It will all work itself out." then he takes another drag off his pipe.

Brahmah
Monday July 4th, 2005 7:16:54 AM

The Captain nods in understanding to Kanchana. "We should get that sword to the Gold Dragons then, before going to fight Vargas.
Looks like we'll be handling your mission after all, Kanchana." He smiles.

The looking at Solgrin, "Oh, yeah.... geez... um, I'm not an arcanist and know little of the arts, but support is ALWAYS good. Offensive is better... if you have a great offense, there is no need for defense." He winks at Solgrin, then snaps a look at Kanchana, "Urm, I mean, diplomacy..." He blushes a bit. "It's up to you Solgrin my friend."

Gecktar
Monday July 4th, 2005 7:56:24 AM

Gecktar looks at Kale and smile.
aybe he is right and all Chosen worry about things that do not need to be worried about.

"Friend Kale, would you like to share your pipe with me a moment. I think I need to relax and take things as they come."

"Well, our next destination ? Plateau city ?"

Kanchana

"That's alright I understood what you meant." Kanchana smiles broadly.

Flat-top
Tuesday July 5th, 2005 5:53:45 AM

Flat-top stands there listening to what is being said, He eats the last of his salad. Then tell the group, "I agree that the sword should go the Gold Dragons, But let us cross the waters first!"

Flat-top will go to the edge of the waters, and gage the distance to the other shore, how fast the water flows and about what kind of chance he has jumping to the other side. All this ha does while he trots up and down this side of the waters.

Zeoll (second confused post)
Tuesday July 5th, 2005 6:59:50 AM

"Hey! Wait a minute! Why arre we giving this imporrtant sworrd to a bunch of human adventurrerrs? I thought we werre talking about the otherr sworrd. I don't know what business it is of some grroup of people we neverr met."

Kanchana (illegal second post + some OOC info)
Tuesday July 5th, 2005 5:56:17 PM

Kanchana and Brahmah (and Solgrin?) were discussing the sword away from the group.

((I do not believe that Kanchana has actually mentioned giving away the black sword she is carrying to the group as a whole. I think only Brahmah; and maybe Solgrin and Zeoll even know anything about giving away the sword; but I and not entirely certain! Regardless Kanchana will give the sword to any goodly person/group that has a rightful claim to it. She cannot wield it nor does she ever want to meet the Fae King personally!)) ;)

A little sleep. (DM Jim)
Tuesday July 5th, 2005 8:49:21 PM

The pixies produce more pipes and some of that mellow weed to any that seeks it. They continue to smoke absently as the listen to the Chosen talk amongst themselves.

As everyone settles in for a little bit of a siesta after such a big meal...it does feel good to rest with a full belly. Flip smiles and shakes his head. "Of course we will help you across that water...but you may want to rest a little first...a big meal brings on sleep and it is not good to travel too hard upon a full stomach." He puffs a few more smoke rings into the air as he lazes back in his cushion enjoying the company and the music.

As if brought on by his words the Chosen start to feel the effects of food...or is it something more? You suddenly feel very tired and your eyes are hard kept to stay open. Soon it is too much and you feel your heads begin to slide onto your chests (Fort DC 38 to stay awake).

[Yes you are meant to not pass that check unless you are very lucky. I need you asleep but it is not in your nature to give up easily. Just thought you might like to know so you do not waste a hero point.]

[The sword that Kanchana holds is not black in any way shape or form. It is a dull metal that is has nature patterns carved and molded into it.]

Brahmah
Tuesday July 5th, 2005 10:16:50 PM

As if by instinct, Brahmah grabs the hilts of his swords ready to draw, before falling into a VERY deep slumber.

An unseemly situation. (DM Jim)
Wednesday July 6th, 2005 11:02:29 PM

Standing some six feet from the Chosen is a drow elf female. She is dressed all in black except for white tattooing that can be seen upon her arms and belly, which is exposed by low cut pants and high cut tunic. Her purple hair is bound in a single ponytail and thrown over her right shoulder casually. Through her open cloak you notice a purple rose upon her tunic over her heart. Her eyes flash as she watches the group slowly come to...one silver and the other green. She has the back of her right hand slightly covering her mouth, hiding a smile as her eyes dance with mirth. You will notice a medallion hangs around her neck though only Solgrin will recognize it as a symbol of the Star Mage Guild. "The Chosen I would presume." Her voice is soft and light but sort of sings...errr actually she is singing to talk. As she shigts slightly you see a rapier on her left hip and dagger on her right...the strange part is that she is accompanied by a black raven that has it's head cocked looking at you.

As you slowly come to from your impromptu sleep you notice first that you are completely naked...well as naked as a taur can get. Each persons' equipment is layed out next to them neatly. All wealth is stacked in piles and magical items sorted in some strange order that you do not recognize.

The sun is not so high in the sky but you would put it at about nine in the morning. You also notice that you are indeed upon the other side of the ditch as the pixies promised...though maybe not as you would have intended. Written in the dirt nearby you notice a message in multiple colors...Safely across we got you....have a nice day. ~ Flip Among your posessions some of your find your pipe that you had been smoking along with a nice sack of that mellow weed.

The spell that put you to sleep was part pixie magic and part magic in the food and drink. The magic cast by the pixies was further inhanced by the return of the Fae King, which they were not aware would happen. :)

Solgrin and Rozca
Thursday July 7th, 2005 3:21:46 AM

As soon as Solgrin wakes up he quickly scans about to see where Rozca is at. Rozca watch my gear while I talk with the drow. Once he knows this Solgrin then acknowledges the female elf watching us. "Pleased to meet you ???? I am Solgrin one of the Chosen of Domi." Solgrin says as he walks closer with his hand out in greeting. "Where exactly are we currently?" Solgrin asks.

ooc:

Flat-top
Thursday July 7th, 2005 6:59:45 AM

Flat-top slowly wakes, "Ohh! Where was I? Oh! yes measuring the with of the water. Now Let's see?? What this? The waters are behind me?? Those Pixies did this! But how can I be mad at them, they did get me across unharmed."

Flat-top looks around to see where the rest of his friends, Smiles to himself as he spots Kanchana hurring to put a Tunic on her bead upper torso, "Hmmm! Nice! But I better look the other way or she'll be mad at me again."

Flat-top washes himself, puts his tunic on, then his Chainmailm, gathers his equipment and will slowly go to be with Slogrin (who is speaking to this beautiful two legged Taur.)

Rozca(ceil)
Thursday July 7th, 2005 7:05:15 AM

Rozca Who was sleeping under his hair, opens her eyes, streaches a little bit. "OK! Master" Then flies to his pile of gear and tries to made a little bed to snooze with one eye open.

Kale

Kanchana
Thursday July 7th, 2005 1:02:00 PM

Kanchana is not the least bit bothered about being nude, it is a most natural thing after all.
Kanchana actually "over looks" the drow at first, opting to inventory her gear before doing anything else - up to and including getting dressed! (She trusts that everything is still there and that nothing has been stolen).

Finally after getting dressed and slinging her gear back on her back Kanchana looks over at the drow female.

"You clearly know who we are, but we do not have the pleasure of knowing who you are - or if you intend any business with us," Kanchana addresses the drow politely. The wemic green mage smiles a little in greeting.

[OOC: Bard Lore check to know about traditional drow and Woldian drow. A 17 is pretty good, right?]

Zeoll looks at the visitor as he puts on his gear. Weaving his clan beads and totem feathers into his mane, he says to the dark elf, "Well, you seem to have the advantage of us. Yes, I am Zeoll, Student to Shaman Frrith, Warrriorr to Prride Nonowla that is no morre, and Son to Clan Aene. I am one of the Chosen of Domi."

"By your dress and demeanorr, my guess is that you arre one of the Darrk Elves whose people have turrned back to the Light and rreturrned to the surrface. Welcome. What can we do forr you, who seem to have sought us out? And may we learrn yourr name?"

Toros slowly gets up and stares around with stupid eyes.

A chance meeting. (DM Jim)
Thursday July 7th, 2005 11:07:40 PM

The young drow flips back her cloak further and cuts a neat little bow to the group as they get themselves presentable...well at least some of them (Spot DC 10 to notice Brahmah Tattoos upon her lower arms). "My name is Corialote En Andor of the Star Mage Guild of the Platinum Dragons formerly the Gold Dragons." She rises slowly to take in the group and nods her head at some of the introductions. She keeps her hands away from any weapons as she senses the tension from some of the group before her. "I have it upon good authority that your group is in possession of an item that our group will be needing for a certain fight." Her eyes glance around as if to see if anyone else is standing nearby and then she moves her hand to her mouth and covers it as she yawns (Spellcraft DC 20 to realize she cast a spell - Mordakenain's Private Sanctum). She once again glances around and seems a little more at ease. "We can talk for a time if you want...though I am not sure how much I can explain." She seems rather upset that she does not have all the knowledge that she needs and her feet even stamps a little at this. "I can help you in some small ways...if it is true that your group carries what I seek for the "Dragons"...a sword." She does not seem to expect you to just hand anything over and is more than willing to talk...maybe give some more clues for you.

[She is indeed one of those few rare drow that has once again seeked the light. Turning thier back upon thier evil kinds deeds and now seek to help the light win out in the end. If nothing else her bizarre hair color and the tattooing will attest to the fact that she is one of the surface drow.]

[Remember that you must know what a Brahmah Tattoo is to actually see it as one. :)]

He points at the tattoo. "I believe you." He says simply. "If she wanted too, she could have just taken it. I believe her."

Flat-top packs his stuff in his saddle bags, then throws the bags over his rump. Picks up his weapons and straps them on his back of (horse end) His shield and bow on his human back. Flat-top has put his chain mail in saddle bags.

Flat-top will trot over to Kanchana, his will flatter her first, them ask her for a favor. "Ah! Kitten, you look beautiful today! Could you do me a favor?" He shows her his open Tunic (where every body cann see his two tatoos)

Flat-top stands still while Kanchana hakes a bow with the string closing. As she does this he give the drow the once over, but does notice the well place tatoos on her body. Just like Brahmah's, He thinks to himself "Hmm! I must remember to get myself a couple more!!"

Dahlia  d20+25=43
Friday July 8th, 2005 8:59:45 PM

From the backside of where the chosen are standing another females voice is heard.

"And if for some odd reason she couldn't have gotten it, I am sure that the sword would have found its way into my posession. Things often do somehow. though I am never exactly sure how."

Standing behind the chosen is yet another blackskinned female. This one however is definitely not a drow. The black-skinned halfling lass standing before them has a crown of brown hair wrapped around her head, if loosed it might well reach the ground. She is wearing flat gray leather armor and has a rapier and kukri on either hip ove her shoulder, you see what could only be a crossbow. Her bright purple eyes twinkly brightly as she watches the various party members scramble for clothing. There is a blur of something whirling around in front of her and after a moment you realize that she is juggling what appear to be 6-8 fist sized stones.

"So Cori what have you found for us today?"

Zeoll  d20+9=23 d20+9=14

Zeoll notes the Drow's tattoos (OOC: Spot check 23) and answers her words: "Well, I forr one would like to know why you think we have this sworrd that you seek, and how you found us. What does this sworrd look like, the one you believe we have?"

It's times like this that Zeoll misses his paladin friend, Leets, very much. As he listens to what the Drow says, he tries to get an intuitive feel for her motives. (OOC Sense Motive check 14).

When the short dark halfling speaks from behind him, Zeoll leaps up in surprise.

His face clouds as he listens to the newcomer's words. "You say you arre surre that the sworrd would have found its way into yourr possession? Is that a thrreat?"

The liontaur nods at the Drow. "Is this a frriend of yourrs?"

Toros  d20=20
Saturday July 9th, 2005 12:17:49 AM

OOC: Second 20 for the skill check in a row!

Toros can recognize Drow's special tattoo even with closed eyes, as he has also one of these. In fact he does not think to open his eyes, either because of continuing to sleep or trying to focus what he is listening or as a projection of his wilingness not to be seen by others for the moment. He justs listens and tries to make sense of what is going on.

Solgrin  d20+4=23
Saturday July 9th, 2005 3:55:14 AM

Recognising the tattoo on the Drow elf, Solgrin says to her "I have no doubt that you could have while we were asleep but I do not think that it is your style."

Surprised at the dark-skinned halflings appeareance Solgrin spins around facing her in shock.

Dahlia
Saturday July 9th, 2005 7:54:17 AM

Continuing to juggle, she speaks with a glint in her eye.

"Oh I am sorry, I did't mean to surprise anyone. My name is Dahlia Fastfingers of the Platinum Dragons." And no it wasn't a threat at all. Just an observation."

Flat-top
Saturday July 9th, 2005 8:24:42 AM

Stand there still for Kanchana to tie his tunic close, He is suprised at the voice??
He jumps and turns to face the Bleack Halfling??
He now steps in frount of Kanchana, Not drawing his morning star just yet, but asking "How are YOU?" then to Brahmah "Captain! What are your orders?"

Brahmah
Saturday July 9th, 2005 8:24:48 AM

Wheeling around to see the halfling, Brahmah begins tightening is armor and carefully counts every bit of gold and valuable among his gear.

His gear rapidly is packed or donned as he begins to look around for others, not really expecting to see anyone or thing.

He simply shakes his head at the conversation.

Finally, he turns to Cori. "Nice tattoos." He says, grinning.

Fate of the sword. (DM Jim)
Saturday July 9th, 2005 10:33:29 PM

Cori smiles to the Chowen a nd shakes er head at them. "She is most definitely a friend and an aquirerer of objects...so she meant no threat." SHe lookds to Brahmah and nods her head again, intending to answer Dahlia and Brahmah in one shot. "It is a longsword that was said to be available to us...used in each of the wars against the Fae King. Most like nature it is, with a tree for the handle and hilt...leaves, animals and vines adorn the whole of the blade. It is made of a metal that is not favorable to fae as a whole." Her face looks to Dahlia as she speaks to. "If you do carry such a sword then it would be helpful in the war versus the Fae King...though I am not sure what part it will play or who its final wielder will be." She smiles some as her tattoos are mentioned and she nods in understanding. "An idea of yours I do believe Noble Brahmah." She waits to let all this sink into the brains of the Chosen as she settles into a chair that has appeared, apparently at ease in the situation. Cushions and chairs appear for those that would like to relax as they talk and get to know each other.

"As to how I know this." She smiles again and shakes her head a little. "We have a nice network of information coming into our group from all over the Wold." She glances to Dahlia for confimation on her next. "I believe that we have recovered artifacts from several other "Hero Groups" from around the Wold to help in this great war...though some may play a smaller role than others." She laughs lightly as a thought comes to mind. "You may have heard of a halfling group that beat the Fae King when his rebirth was achieved...he underestimated them as did a lot of us I think." She wipes away a few tears as she has started to laugh rather hard about it. "We do not ask anything from your group further than the sword if it is in your possession...we realize that you have other important things to do in the Taur Islands...a war of your own to stop or participate in as fate sees it." She also lets that seep in as she silently chews her lip. She has given the group much to think of and not all of it good really, hopeful maybe but not good.

There are no signs of deception from either of the Platinum Dragons. They may seem a little different or maybe holding back a little but you have a feeling that you do not want to know everything. Then again maybe they can help you at least get to your current goal a little quicker...it appears that Cori is a wizardess at least...the colored halfling is a different story.

Zeoll
Sunday July 10th, 2005 3:17:10 AM

The liontaur sums up the points he has heard, one by one. He does not relax or take a seat.

He touches his thumb. "This weapon has been used against the Fey King in the past."

He touches his index finger. "You think that this sworrd would be useful in fighting the Fey King."

He touches his middle finger. "You arre collecting arrtifacts that might prrove useful against the Fey King."

He touches his ring finger. "You arre amused that a grroup of halflings dealt the Fey King a setback when he was newly rreborrn."

"Therreforre ..." the liontaur touches his least finger and says, "... you arre clearrly the enemies of the Fey King."

Zeoll looks at the others of the Chosen. "As for me, I have had no quarrrel with this King of the Fey Folk. I have felt naturre grrow strrong, and I have no quarrrel with that, eitherr. The only evidence I have hearrd against him is hearrsay."

"So we Chosen must ask ourrselves, Do we want to declarre against the King, by aiding his enemies?"

"I am not rready to do so. I want to hearr what my fellow Chosen have to say. I especially want to hearr frrom my frriend Kanchana, a drruid of grreaterr powerr than me."

"What say we, Chosen of Domi? Is this Fey King an enemy of ourrs?"

Flat-top stand there with arm cross on his chest,(not too far from Brahmah but in frount of Kanchana) watching the both of females. Then tell Brahmah "Captain! These females are both very strong with lot of battle experiance. Let's show them the the SWORD, just to see if IT is the ONE. I have a feeling that we are needed else where."

Dahlia  d20+24=30 d20+24=39 d20+24=34 d20+24=35 d20+24=43 d20+24=42 d20+24=40 d20+24=38
Sunday July 10th, 2005 8:17:39 AM

"Zeoll, I too enjoy nature when it can get the upperhand, on its own. What is happening now over the entire Wold, as far as we can tell, is downright unnatural. There are trees, purple trees, springing up from apparently nowhere, and devouring common people and attacking cities. Currently, The Floating City is being pulled under the lake by suddenly sentient indestructable vines. The kelp and other plants of the lakes and waterways are, overnight, covering and sinking boats and ships full of families, killing them all and leaving no trace behind. Even the Taur Islands are not being left alone. It is even rumored that the Fey King is bound and determine to destroy both the Heart of the Beast and the Heart of the Stag. And you want to call Valdor and the rest of the Platinum Dragons your enemies.

At each point in her speech wher the word is boldfaced Dahlia sends one of her rocks, unerringly flyinf into a tree. Each rock hits in exactly the same place knocking bark off and scarring the tree.

When done she turns an faces Cori.

"Cori I am tired of all this boneheaded foolishness. Let's just leave them the sword and get back to where we are needed. There are people dying right now because we are here. If these adventurers decide they want to aid in this fight and want us to have the sword let them find us."

Kanchana
Sunday July 10th, 2005 2:59:36 PM

Kanchana turns to face the most rude of halflings when Dahlia speaks her opinion.

"You are clearly not the one meant to have the blade," Kanchana says neutraly then turns away from the halfling and bows politely to Cori and says more politely, "you however seem more alike the person meant to have it."

Kanchana takes the sword from off of her back, unsheathes it, holds it in the palms of both hands for Cori to look over the sword.

"I will not declare any intent either for or against this fae king. What I know is that some Power unknown to me wanted me to bring this to Plateau City," Kanchana gives a little info as Cori looks over the sword, "If you have received a vision to find a black sword then this may very well be the one which you seek. I cannot use such a weapon myself."

Kanchana addendum
Sunday July 10th, 2005 3:02:54 PM

Dahlia gets a less than favorable reaction from Kanchana primarily because she is hurting the trees; and they are telling Kanchana all about it!

However Kanchana will try and be patient first rather than telling the halfling to leave the trees alone.

Solgrin
Sunday July 10th, 2005 7:56:11 PM

Solgrin takes this oppertunity to get his equipment and put everything back on and in its proper location.

Kale
Monday July 11th, 2005 9:20:14 AM

after getting dressed, Kale casually makes his way around the two females until he is standing behind him. "There is really a simple solution to all this." he says "We're the Chosen of Domi, right? Lets just pray to him and see what he has to say. After all, he's answered us before."

Gecktar
Monday July 11th, 2005 1:34:35 PM

Gecktar looks at Kale as if he had said an insult... Then a smile appears on his face and he says "You're definitely surprising dear Kale. I would never thought that your faith was so strong and I'm so happy to ear you tell what you've said !"

"Well maybe we could ask him..." he says.

Jandar
Monday July 11th, 2005 3:00:13 PM

There is a flash of light, bright white light, and a human appears. He is sturdy for a human, but not overly huge. He has a brown robe over his armor and the symbol of Domi clasp keeping the cloak attached. Dangling from his left ear is an earring in the form of a dragon. It is gold in color and texture. When he moves, his adamantine armor can be seen...with a huge symbol of Domi on his chest.

He wears a warhammer of extremely good quality on his back. His eyes flash gold and he smiles when he sees the Chosen.

He bows deeply and says,"It pleases my eyes to see you brave Chosen of Domi. For those of you whom I haven't had the chance to meet, I am Brother Jandar of Domi...and the Platinum Dragons, to whom my third loyalties lie. Of course my first is with Domi, the second to the good beings of the Wold. I am sorry I am late, but I was in prayers that could not be interrupted when my companions had to leave. I do hope you'll forgive me."

He asks Cori and Dahlia ,"Have you seen the sw..." He stops when his eyes land on the prized sword and he exhales loudly with a 'Whoosh'. He continues,"May I hold it?"

Toros
Monday July 11th, 2005 8:05:14 PM

Toros also starts getting his equipment, It is funny to see all these stuff separate from him, actually this gives Toros a good feeling, making him feel free for a moment - free from all the responsilities, quests to be fulfilled, just ready to hunt with bare claws in the deep forests of Taur Islands. For a second he wishes about forgetting all the troubles chasing after the Chosen or what Chosen chase after, and return to the nature.

Then he starts talking, saying what he needs to say "I have seen the Elf gathering before the awakening of the Sleeper. There were many who had doubts about or did not agree with waking him up. And then I saw with my own eyes that these were right, the nature is not the nature I know any more. And at the beginning it was nice but I feel it is getting worse day and day..." Toros takes a deep breath and continues:

"Actually I really do not know, it is beyond my knowledge what is going now and what will happen next - perhaps they are all for good, perhaps not... What I know is we need to go to the Plateau City, Kanchana has a sword to give to the right people, the Chosen of Domi is talking with the members of Platinum Dragons and I wish we could sort all these for the good of both sides ... and nature ... and others that are suffering from the actions of someoneelse has done."

Undecided. (DM Jim)
Monday July 11th, 2005 11:45:57 PM

Cori nods to Dahlia as she comments and feels some exasperation at this group but also a feeling that questioning is needed. "She is right though....Floating City is even now being tipped by giant vines and many buildings have already crumbled in the shift. Caniverous trees called wortlings have sent their underlings into the city to capture citizens to eat and produce more of their kind." Her eyes harden as she speaks the memory still fresh in her own mind. "Does this sound like Mother Wold? I believe that strange events are happening all over and you may have seen them...at first it was good things happening but lately it has been turning bad." She shifts in the chair as Jandor appears and she smiles some more. A cleric of Domi should help out some or at least she hopes it will.

She will let him speak for a little as she ponders her next move. This was being more difficult that she had first imagened but that was to be expected she figures. The idea of praying to Domi is an odd one really as how could one expect a God to take time to answer every little prayer.

[Some should remember that Floating City is where you left a certain couple of packages too. You left them there for safe keeping. Children.]

Brahmah begins getting very upset and could care less about the sword at this point.
"Kanchana, the issue about the sword is your decision! We need to get to the Floating City." His eyes get VERY big, trying to hint to his concerns.
He gathers the rest of his gear and begins to move toward Floating City, not Plateau.

Solgrin
Tuesday July 12th, 2005 3:13:37 AM

Solgrin hearing about the happenings in the Floating City, Solgrin then looks to Brahmah and says "if the Platnum Dragons are there I think we would be in their way more than helping them. We have business in Plateau City that needs to be taken care of. Remember, I have lived a large part of my life in the Float but I also see the need for use to finish our tasks in Plateau City."

Solgrin turns to Kanchana and says "I think they are the ones for the sword and not you."

Brahmah
Tuesday July 12th, 2005 4:07:41 AM

Brahmah turns sharply to Solgrin.
"The Children are more important to the Wold and the Isles than some mysterious business in the Plat, Solgrin. I don't really care that the Dragons are there! The Children are most important... not me, not you, not the Dragons! The Children." He is livid and afraid for the kids.

Gecktar
Tuesday July 12th, 2005 5:14:53 AM

Gecktar face becomes white as if drained from all blood when he realizes that the Children are in danger.

"I must agree with Brahmah. Children are above all concerns. They are the mere blood of Domi and should be rescued. Remember, if something happen to the children our quest will fail..."

"Brahmah I will follow you..."

"Kale, I have the answer I needed for the acknowledgement of Domi. If Brother Jandar of Domi asks for the sword I thing Domi already gave clues that he agrees with that."

"Kanchana, it's your sword. Nobody else will take the decision, but I my humble opinion, the Platinum Dragons are the best suited for handling this weapon."

Flat-top
Tuesday July 12th, 2005 6:32:01 AM

Flat-top is suprised at the responce of Kale, he is proud having a friend like him.
He jumps a little as Jandar enter the group, But it is when Dahlia mentioning of floating City being tilted on it's side,
That Flat-top shoot a look at Brahmah. "I'm with you, give them the sword so we can go back to Floating City to see about our business there, NOW!"

Kale
Tuesday July 12th, 2005 10:24:54 AM

Kale looks at Jandar and seeing his holy symbol, says "I guess thats my answer." then he turns to look a Kachanga to see what she'll do.

Jandar
Tuesday July 12th, 2005 10:37:38 AM

Jandar maintains a calm visage and listens to each. He waits for a moment and says,"Children's safety should be the focus of us all, as they ARE our future. That is the main reason the Platinum Dragons are there fighting to save the city. The city has its own guard and army, but the citizens needed more help than the army could provide.

As has been said, the city is being attacked from underneath by immovable and seemingly indestructible vines as big around as a huge dragon. I cast a Firestorm on one and it was unaffected. That is a very powerful spell. Anyway, the question of nature has spawned ome interesting debates. I, one the one hand, do not enjoy city life much. I prefer nature and could care less about the Castle we live in, other than for a place to rest. However, what has happened in Plateau City and the Flaoting City is not nature attacking. It is an aberration of nature, a misuse of nature, if you will. Our own druid, Myridan, a High Druid in his order, has tried to explain in terms I cannot understand, how dangerous the situation has become. Since the arrival of the Fey King, nothing in nature has functioned properly. It isn't evil necessarily, but it is causing chaos and death at every turn...to normal working folk. We're not talking about goblins and orcs here, we're talking humans, dwarves, taurs, elves, and every other noble race.

You have my oath, with Domi as witness, that we will use the sword against the chaos that is the Fey King. We don't seek his death, just a stoppage in all the destruction and deaths of the innocent. It is not any one being's right, save the Jericho perhaps, to decide how the whole Wold should live and what the face of the Wold should look like.

Anyway, we would appreciate your assistance in this and in the future."

Zeoll
Tuesday July 12th, 2005 11:31:54 AM

The liontaur listens, and grows more and more impatient. Finally, he roars, "Chosen of Domi! Contrrol yourr fearrs! Be brrave and have courrage!"

"Domi himself told us in a sacrred drream that the childrren would be safe in the Orrphanage. Do you doubt Domi now, just because these humanoids seek to frrighten you? Trrust in Domi! The childrren arre safe! HE will look overr them!"

"We have ourr mission. We must have courrage and not turrn frrom it now. Ourr enemies would rrejoice if we rran away to the Float! Do not forrget the task beforre us. The childrren are safe. We have a warr to fight.

Then the liontaur turns to the "Dragons" who have come for the sword. "You twist my words, for I have neverr said I was yourr enemy. But you wound trrees and you frrighten us with tales of dangerr to ourr childrren."

"And as forr human clerrics of Domi, I have been warry everr since one called me back out of death and deliverred me into the hands of the Lorrd of Disease."

"We werre told to brring this sworrd to Plateau City. Forr some rreason you have come to us beforre we arrrived therre. I say, let us complete ourr sacrred mission. Let us go to the Temple of Domi in Plateau City and prray therre. In that hallowed place, let Kanchana deliverrr the sworrd to you if herr hearrt wills it."

Jandar
Tuesday July 12th, 2005 2:03:50 PM

(Sorry for second post, but the statement required n immediate response)

Jandar replies to Zeoll,"Do as your hearts tell you to do. However, as I have met evil taurs before, I would hesitate to lump all into that category. I would guess there are those who would say, 'I met one bad liontaur, so they all must be bad.' I have travelled enough to know that would be utter nonsense for me to say, nor would my faith in Domi allow me to make such a judgment. I never declared the Chosen of Domi as an enemy...quite the contrary, for we work towards the same goals.

Dahlia is no druid, so hitting a tree with small rocks wouldn't occur to her as being a bad thing, so please do hold your judgment on her. You judge me as the same as another cleric of Domi? Quite unfair of you. However, as I said before, make your judgments as a group and your decision. We will not take the sword from you, although we could, it must be given, as we are not thieves. That is no threat, so do not misunderstand me, but you know of us and should know our reputation of doing good. I believe you have met Valdor. He called us all to fight the Usurper some time back. He still leads our group and would never allow us to do evil. Think on that my friends."

Kanchana
Tuesday July 12th, 2005 2:12:07 PM

Since Cori is obviously ignoring the unsheathed sword held out for her to study Kanchana turns to Brother Jandar; who at least seems genuinely interested. Since Jandar so clearly has been Called by Father Tomi she has no doubts about letting him handle the sword. The wemic druidess did not need Jandar's words to reassure her, it was enough to see that he shares the same Calling more or less.

"You may hold the sword Brother," Kanchana respectfully inclines her head towards the priest of Tomi. Kanchana holds the sword out to him. (The sword is being held laying flat across her palms.)
"Did Father Tomi or Mother Wold ask you to seek this sword?" Kanchana asks Jandar with polite inquisitiveness.
"Is this sword really the Bane of the Fae King do you think?"

Kanchana half turns towards Brahmah after Brother Jandar takes the sword. She smiles reassuringly.

"Both Mother Wold and Father Tomi told me in a vision that the children would be safe in that city. They would never abandon the children to some evil being or its minions," Kanchana says reassuringly.

"Solgrin has work important to Father in Plateau City. He has a Call to gain all the arcane learning he can to assist the Great Father's Chosen Ones in freeing and uniting the Taur people, setting Nature to rights again and helping goodly people. You go with the Dragons to the Floating City and I will travel with Solgrin to Plateau City. We will then find you there," Kanchana says genially.

Green Mage Kanchana addresses Dahlia politely, "please do not do that to the trees you are hurting them and they are telling me about their pain and to ask you to please stop."

((Kanchana is really trying very hard to be pleasant and not confrontational in any shape way or form. She intends absolutely no insult to anyone. And rats! Just missed posting before Jandar!)) :)
((FYI Kanchana is a Druid, and now also a Green Mage.))

Zeoll (quick second post)
Tuesday July 12th, 2005 2:52:30 PM

The liontaur calmly answers Jandar. "Once again, I do not call you enemy. I simply said I was warry. And I have not met this Valdorr. I was dead then."

"Kanchana, I agrree with all you say, but I do not think we should divide the Chosen. Ourr path is to Plateau City."

Kanchana to Zeoll
Tuesday July 12th, 2005 4:11:13 PM

"Yes, I agree Zeoll. I said that Solgrin and my destination would be Plateau City," Kanchana confirms.

Toros
Tuesday July 12th, 2005 5:07:45 PM

Toros thinks. He needs time for this, as everything seems to be necessary has been said, and everyone seems to be right for his or her own concerns or perspective. What if the sword would have a tongue to talk!

Flat-top second post
Tuesday July 12th, 2005 6:07:48 PM

Flat-top shoot Zeoll a very sharp glance, because he used the word Children instead of package like they all agreed on. "Split us up? In what way will that help?"

Zeoll
Tuesday July 12th, 2005 8:01:32 PM

[OOC: D'Oh! Gecktar and Brahmah said "children" before me! LOL!]

Zeoll is quick to correct Flat-top. "No, old frriend, I want us to stay togetherr and go to Plateau City! NOT split up!"

Flat-top
Wednesday July 13th, 2005 8:00:33 AM

Flat-top listens to Zeoll, For not wanting to split up. His eyes softens as his look yo his long time friend, "OK! Then." he answers.

OOC: Zeoll! I made you wince.

Brahmah
Wednesday July 13th, 2005 10:31:51 AM

Brahmah is growing very impatient and shooting sharp glances at the Dragons and the sword, then finally, "Just give them the damned sword and they'll leave us alone. They are clearly not our enemy or we would already be dead. This is wasting time! If we are to finish this stupid trek to the Plat City, then we have to move! I want to find a way to communicate with the Children or Kenisha. Yes, I said Children! Not packages!"
*Groooaaarrr!* He snarls in frustration.

Jandar  d20+32=42 d20+32=49 d20+32=47 d20+32=43
Wednesday July 13th, 2005 1:55:28 PM

Jandar reverently takes the sword, painfully slow, looking over the blade and hilt, making sure he knows the weapon. After examining it for a couple of minutes, he says,"It is a fabulous weapon. I am not my best with a sword, but I would like to try it out."

If there are no objections, he takes a few practice swings. It is apparent he can wield a sword fine, he is just very modest.

When done, he approaches Kanchana and offers back the sword. He says,"I had a dream about this sword. I have to believe it was from Tomi and I believethis is indeed the sword that has been used in the past against the fey king. However, it is yours by right and deed. If you feel it necessary to keep it, then do so. If you trust us enough to know we will take care of it and use it properly, then give it to us. The decision is yours."

Kanchana
Wednesday July 13th, 2005 3:04:18 PM

Kanchana smiles demurely.
"It is not mine by right. I am but a custodian, or a messenger."

Kanchana resheathes the blade and hands it hilt first to Jandar.
"I give the sword into your care Brother, I have no need of it in my duties. I hope that you and your people succeed in aiding the Great Mother at setting Nature aright and to protect those who cannot defend themselves. May Father Tomi guide you on your path and grant you wisdom."

With that Kanchana relinquishes the black sword to Brother Jandar.

"Farewell and may our paths cross again in happier times," Kanchana says to the members of the Platinum(?) Dragons.

She turns and begins to make her way towards Plateau City, her duties concerning the sword ended by her own reckoning.

Gecktar
Wednesday July 13th, 2005 3:40:11 PM

Gecktar turns his head once to the Platinum dragons then to the Chosen. He is quite embarassed . He doesnt't know what to do...
If the Dragons are in the Floating City they could take care of the Children. By the way they know about their existence and the place where they are. And the Lady of the city told the Chosen that the Children will be safe...

Well Zeoll should be right. Now that his bloood isn't anymore boiling of anguish for the children, Gecktarknows that they must continue their duty to Plateau City and let the Dragons do their best to keep the Childen safe.

"Well, Zeoll, you should be right, be the fear that the Children could be in danger blured my judgment..."

"The conclusion I could tell is that we must talk between us before running in the opposite direction. Now I see that the Children are safe and Domi would help then if they happen to be in danger."

A burden lifted. (DM Jim)
Wednesday July 13th, 2005 4:51:22 PM

Cori stands and the chairs disappear as she nods her head. "I hesitate to take the sword for two reasons...my elven nature makes it somewhat of a nasty thing to us....yes it might not hurt us like other fae but we do not stand its touch if we can help it." She smiles to Kanchana as she speaks the next part. "The second part is out of respect of you Druidess...you offered for me to look at it but there was no overture to touch it....it is the sword that we search for though." She glances to Jandor as he practices with the sword and shakes her head.

As she turns back to the Chosen she bows to them and tries to allay their fears. "I can get you to Plateau City much faster than walking and you might be able to get a glimps at least of the Floating City at either the Star Mage Guild or the Library of Magic." With that she turns her back to the group and closes her eyes as she raises her arms. Arcane words issue from her lips and great power is gathered as she chants. When at last she stops the power pulls together to form that of a giant archway door. On the other side is the Plateau City and a building marked as the Star Mage Guild. "You should be able to complete your mission with more haste this way...if there is anything else I could do for you please ask...you have been instrumental in binding the Fae King once again...I hope." Her smile is genuine as she looks to the Chosen and once again gives them a bow.

Kanchana
Thursday July 14th, 2005 6:51:59 AM

Kanchana nods once as Cori explains why she showed no interest in the sword. "I didn't realize that Elven folk would react that way to the sword. Still I hope it is less of a burden to you all than it was to me. Good luck."

Kanchana looks at the portal as she makes up her mind on whether to use it or not.
"This is quite a bit of help I think," Kanchana says half to herself.

To Cori she simply says, "Not all things of Nature follow that false king. Your friend seems to have forgotten that, odd since her people have defeated the Fae King once already just recently."

If no one objects (and without explaining her halfling comment any further) Kanchana will step through the portal, eager to get another city-bound "duty" discharged. She will wait on the other side for whomever else decides to enter.

Flat-top
Thursday July 14th, 2005 8:17:23 AM

Flat-top with cross arms and watching the going on, after this is the first time he has ever seen Platium Dragons before.
As he watches Kanchana go through the arch, he wonders 'Hmmm! I wonder who is going to tie my shirt?'

Kale
Thursday July 14th, 2005 9:46:23 AM

not saying anything to anyone else, Kale follows Kachanga through the poral, thinking to himself, it will be good to get back into a real city

Jandar
Thursday July 14th, 2005 11:24:40 AM

Jandar bows deeply at the gift and says,"I will guard it with my life. We will make sure the rightful user of this sword is found, whoever he or she might be. Cori, we need to identify a few things about this sword when we get back. I'm sure it is an intelligent weapon."

He bows to each of the Chosen, gratitude written on his face. He says,"May Domi guide your steps and give you courage my friends."

He waits for them to go before issuing a 'Word of Recall' back to his temple.

Brahmah
Thursday July 14th, 2005 12:28:19 PM

Without hesitation, Brahmah moves through the portal. "Thanks." With a forced smile, he rushes through.

Zeoll
Thursday July 14th, 2005 1:35:55 PM

Zeoll nods at Kanchana's choice and walks through to the City.

Solgrin
Thursday July 14th, 2005 2:49:28 PM

Solgrin looks to the Platinum Dragons and nods. Solgrin walks through to the city following the others. As he walks through he tells Cori "good luck in your fight. Thank you for shortening our journey."

Toros
Thursday July 14th, 2005 8:59:51 PM

Ready to go, Toros also enters the portal, wishing good luck and good bye to their visitors.

Plateau City at last. (DM Jim)
Friday July 15th, 2005 12:23:18 AM

The crossing of the portal is easy and leaves the group with no disorientation at all. You find yourselves standing in front of what would be a large building that goes up, up and up. The disc that hangs outside tells that it is the Star Mage guild and that you are now in Plateay City.

You notice that in places the streets are still wet with water and many houses have fallen in. It seems that the flooding was not too kind to this city and you wonder how others made out...how about your home as well. Many of the folks that pass by give you a look but do not seem scared in the least. In fact most of the city seems to be in the midst of repairs to that which can be repaired so they pay you little notice.

Brahmah is quick to orient himself in the city having passed this building on his way to the library of magic. The city is much changed though with all the destruction that has happened and he wonders if the three taur scholars are still around.

The portal has since closed behind you and you get the feeling that you are own your own now...but a burden has been lifted in many ways. Most of this applies to Kanchana but for some reason you have the feeling that holding onto that sword would have brought trouble and you already have enough of that.

Flat-top
Friday July 15th, 2005 8:34:23 AM

Flat-top is the last one to pass through the portal, he wanted to make sure that no one was left behind. He made it just in time, when the portal closed he almost left his tale behind.

Now he looks around and will follow behind Captain Brahmah, when he hears the familure cry of a golden eagle.

Kale
Friday July 15th, 2005 8:36:41 AM

"Where to?" Kale asks "I myself could use a drink."

Paw'caw(ceil)
Friday July 15th, 2005 8:38:25 AM

Up high in the sky, is a Golden Eagle. Doing lazy eight circle, watching for danger along the way and also looking for the Children at Play.

Brahmah  d20+8=26 d20+7=19
Friday July 15th, 2005 11:22:25 AM

Brahmah looks at Kale. "Me too, but first I have to see to some old friends." He looks into the sky, watching his friend soar, wondering if she sees anything important or dangerous.

He rushes off toward the Library of Magic or whats left of it.
Turning to Solgrin and Kanchana, he says, "The Library is quite large and hard to miss. You'll both like it I think... if it still stands?!"
He begins a slow jog, as he notices the destruction around him.
Once he sees a burnt out shell of a shop, he breaks into a full-out run.

He keeps his eyes open for danger or ANY sign of strange activity still occuring. (Spot 26, Listen 19)

Solgrin
Friday July 15th, 2005 6:42:11 PM

Solgrin nods to Brahmah and then heads into the Star Tower.

Kanchana
Friday July 15th, 2005 6:52:43 PM

Kanchana will follow Brahmah towards the library. She too cannot help but notice the damage to the buildings and all the repairs going on.

Zeoll
Friday July 15th, 2005 9:15:08 PM

The liontaur's muscles tense at the sight of the massive city. "I hope no one was hurrt," he says, "but my nose says this place was in need of a bath."

He follows Brahmah's lead, glad that the minotaur seems to know his way around.

Toros
Friday July 15th, 2005 11:05:34 PM

Toros follows others, taking note of everything he sees. He has just waken up from a sleep and feels like a big burden has been lifted for all Chosen. So he is very energetic and optimistic, even if what he sees in this place is not very promising after the floodings.

Stars and Libraries. (DM Jim)
Saturday July 16th, 2005 12:45:43 AM

Brahmah takes off in the direction of the library that he had come to the last time he was here. Almost all the Chosen follow after him but Solgrin and they note the destruction brought on by the flood waters. As they reach the library they find a seven foot high wall of dirt was erected to keep the floodwaters out of the building. It seems none the worse for wear though there are lots of weary looking people tramping around outside of it. Sitting on the front steps of the Library of Magic steps is the young man that met Brahmah earlier, he is currently eating a meatroll it looks like. Well it is about noon and your stomachs slowly start to remind you of that fact.

Solgrin sweeps into the Mage Guild to find that this floor is in ruins from floodwater. He will most likely be wondering how many materials of magical note may have been destroyed in the flood. He does not that there is a several lower ranking apprentices using mops to clean up the area and muttering as they do. You will get the impression that they did something wrong and this is punishment. A higher ranking mage is watching them with a critical eye and hollers out orders every once in awhile, mostly telling them that they missed a spot or to stop laxing around. He does look up as Solgrin enters and his eyes goes wide at first. "I am sorry sir but the Guild is not open for anyone but to members at this time." His eyes take in the damage and he sighs.

Flat-top
Saturday July 16th, 2005 7:18:34 AM

Flat-top is now Running as fast as he can, as he pulls up be side Brahmah, the Center ask him, "Captain! Do you want me to go on the the house where the our children are? Or Do we stick together?"

Solgrin
Saturday July 16th, 2005 7:37:00 AM

Solgrin looks over at the mage that is talking to him then walks over carefully avoiding damaging anything. When Solgrin is almost at the mage Solgrin takes his guild amulet out from under his shirt letting it be visible to the mage.
Solgrin polietly says "Sorry for not having my guild amulet visible but I have had several things on my mind at the moment. How bad is the damage? I have come to expand my knowlege while I am in the Plateau City."

Zeoll
Saturday July 16th, 2005 1:34:26 PM

Zeoll looks around the library with just a touch of schadenfreude. "Books and wrriting arre all verry well, I suppose" the illiterate liontaur comments in Tauric, "but you do have to fearr waterr."

After a moment of reflection, he adds, "And moths. And dry rrot. And mealy worrms. And firre. And toddlerrs with grrubby hands."

"Frrankly, I just don't see the advantage overr the memorry of trrained barrds."

Brahmah
Saturday July 16th, 2005 11:53:39 PM

Brahmah slowly turns his head towards Zeoll, a confused look of concern on his face.

Toros
Sunday July 17th, 2005 1:13:46 AM

Having just visited Catacombs, Toros recalls the attention of the other Chosen:

"Friends, I have just received the confirmation from Catacombs that brandnew Philters have become available. These are my creations and I would like to share these first with my friends... Please consider them as a very small gift for celebrating your new level-ups, as I do not know your birthdays." Toros smiles and continues, "I have my ideas of what you may like but still I do not want to decide for you, instead, what I would like is to provide a list with plenty of alternatives so that you can choose whatever you want for yourself..."

Toros's Philter, Lesser:
------------------------
Comprehend Languages,
Disguise Self,
Divine Favor,
Entropic Shield,
Expeditious Retreat,
Longstrider,
Shield,
Speak with Animals.

"So, Chosen, please choose one of these lesser philters for yourself and I will get it for you." Then Toros awaits for the responses.

Zeoll (illegal second post)
Sunday July 17th, 2005 6:29:25 AM

"I don't get into melee as often as I used to, frriend Torros," says Zeoll, "but when I do, a Philterr of Shield would surre be helpful!"

Zeoll is not sure why Brahmah has a concerned look on his face. [OOC: I, Cayzle, am also confused. Jay, want to e-mail me?]

Kanchana
Sunday July 17th, 2005 7:25:45 AM

Kanchana seeks out a librarian. She has a few questions to ask first, and then hopefully the books she might need to peruse are not damaged or gone. Kanchana looks at the damages with concern.

Flat-top
Sunday July 17th, 2005 10:30:53 AM

"Oh! I'm in the wrong place? Well then I will stick with you, Captain." Flat-top will stick with the group very closely so not to get loss again.

But when Toros offers a gift, He choses "I think I'll chose Shield, Err! Toros my Friend, does this mean I get another Tattoo?"

Brahmah
Sunday July 17th, 2005 4:23:35 PM

Brahmah wanders off to a shop, leaving the mage types at the library.

He doesn't let Flat-top or Kale follow. "Go get a drink. I'll be back."

Brahmah

The cleric tries desperately to follow the Captain, but loses him around the corner, and resolves himself to joining Kale and Flat-top at the bar. 'Besides, they'll need me to keep them out of trouble.' He thinks to himself.

Monday July 18th, 2005 7:46:17 PM

Zeoll sees Brahmah head away, and probably Gecktar, Kale and Flat-top will head for a pub.

Zeoll says to whoever is left in the library, "Well, therre arre supposed to be learrned men herre. Maybe we can learrn something frrom one of them."

He tries to make inquiries and find someone who might be able to help. (Gather Info check 30! Woot! To find a helpful Librarian)

Of scrolls and books. (DM Jim)
Tuesday July 19th, 2005 12:20:27 AM

Star Mage Guild

The mage looks to Solgrin with a slight smile and nods his head. "I am sorry...did not realize that you were a member." He looks to the apprentices doing the mopping and shakes his head. "Neither of you had better try to run off or use magic to clean this mess up...I will know." He turns to Solgrin and ushers him to follow as he moves up some steps. "Luckily we were able to get most of the stuff moved up to higher floors...though the scrolls and books are up in the higher floors anyways." His face grimaces as he thinks of all the work that will still need to be done. "Mostly the labs were flooded to some extent." The mage leads you into a large room, larger than it should be from the looks of the outside building and lets his hand sweep to show all the books. "You will find spells in thier correct subjects on all these shelves...such as summon monster III under conjuration." He looks to Solgrin and then shakes his head. "Is there anything else that you will be needing...do you have your own supplies for copying spells?"

Library of Magic

The young boy setting on the steps looks to the Chosen that approach and a smile breaks out as he sees Brahmah. But then he looses him in the crowd that comes wandering by and he lets his partially raised hand drop. He does look to the few Chosen that approach the library and smiles again. "Are you a friend of Sir Brahmah...I could be of help if you looking for something...or I could take you to see the taur scholars if you are the rest of the Chosen...though you do seem to be a few short again." The smile never leaves his face and he only takes time to finish off his meatroll and drink down his cider. "At least the library here was saved during the flooding. Took the combined efforst of some of the cities greatest...including a few of the Gold Dragons." He seems to take pride in that fact and the fact that he evidently was there to help out as well.

Alley

Brahmah finds himself in an alleyway without the rest of the Chosen with him. He needed some private space to think for a few or something like that. Maybe a certain female liontaur in the library was poping into his mind...she did seem to show some interest in him.

Local Pub

Kale, Flat-top and Gectar find themselves stepping into a small pub that looks rather seedy, but they figure the price will be better and the lights low. As you enter you notice that there are no patrons in the place at this time. The bartender is standing at the bar wiping a glass with a dirty rag and a pair of barmaids are lounging around near the bar talking quietly together. They all look up as you enter and the bartender waves you over with a smile...there is also a little desperation there as well. "Please take any table that you want....Ellse see what they want girl." You see him wipe his hands upon his apron nervously as he watches the three of you. Though a thoughts of suspicion should form in your minds you quickly realize something...he is hurting for business and anxious to see how much gold he can get out of you.

Brahmah
Tuesday July 19th, 2005 5:21:21 AM

The minotaur's thoughts are split. On one hand he's interested in the library and the scholars, and on the other hand he needs a few supplies.

He's also been playing with a few ideas, plotting and planning.
The primary scheme is on how he alone might infultrate Vargas' army as a merchenary, in disguise perhaps (having all the Chosen join would be too obvious). He had experience in that sort of merch work. He could get close to Vargas. But would Vargas recognize him? What if he went in under the guise of abandoning the Chosen and the mission. Would Vargas be convinced that Brahmah had turned his back on Domi and the Chosen?

The fact that he was thinking about using the sorts of tactics Vargas might use was weighing on his shoulders.

'Well, at least I'm not moping around all depressed. This COULD work!
By the Gods! I need to avoid her singing again!'

*Sigh.*

He continues to look around for shops, hoping not to be recognized. It was getting to be too much. Fame sucks.

Toros
Tuesday July 19th, 2005 5:40:13 AM

Toros replies Zeoll's and Flat-top's requests, "Philter of Shield is a good one, hope it be of some help, when you are in trouble. I also hope you like the taste of it. Actually I believe you will love this Flat-top, it is made from Purple Wine! Be careful though, it is strong! So, Philter is not like Brahmah's Tattoo, but like a potion made from sacred wine!"

Then Toros turns to other Chosen, before they separate for their own business "Doesn't anyone else want any of these? They have a symbolic meaning for me of how I appreciate to be together with you as one of the Chosen of Domi."

"Specifically, if I may, Kanchana, I would like to congratulate you for becoming a Greenmage. Brahmah, I would like to thank you for the precious Tattoo of yours that I use. Gecktar, Solgrin, I would never know how to thank you for all the magical support you provide from your vaulable resources, and Kale, for all the loot you deal for us... Zeoll, Flat-top... There are just countless reasons to thank you all, even if it has been just a short while that I have been together with you... Just would like you to know this, when I get an occasion to reflect upon this ..."

Toros looks at the eyes of each Taur, when he spell out their names. Waiting for a little while for any comments, then the liontaur returns to the business at hand.

Flat-top
Tuesday July 19th, 2005 7:22:28 AM

Flat-top yell out "Where did the Captain go? Kale?" as Kale answers him. Flat-top has this boyish grin on his face, "OK! Then Lead the way! Oh! Yes! You too Gektar. Let's go!"

But as the trio starts to go they are stop by Toros, he does something strange? Toros look then into their eyes and spell out their names? Then toros leaves them? Weird thing to do But we still need a drink.

Off the go in to the nearest tavern, Looking aroung "Look the place is empty, we hace it all to our selves! Let's grab the best table and order." They sit and all yell together "Hey! Pretty Barmaid! Drinks all around!"

Gecktar [sub Jay B]
Tuesday July 19th, 2005 5:57:00 PM

Gecktar just stares blankly at Toros as he rambles on. The cleric drinks a tankard in a single gulp and refills immediately.

Kale (Sub Cayzle)
Tuesday July 19th, 2005 6:31:29 PM

The rogue minotaur takes a moment to sit back and relax. he nods a thanks to Flat-top.

He enjoys his drink when it arrives.

Zeoll
Tuesday July 19th, 2005 6:32:27 PM

"Yes, the Taurr scholarrs, please."

He invites the helper to lead the way.

"Come on, frriends. We can yet learrn something out of this."

Solgrin
Tuesday July 19th, 2005 9:40:58 PM

Solgrin thinks for a moment then asks "would you please bring me some ink so that I can begin my work? Is there a nice quiet corner that I can use while I am here for my reasearch and scribing?"

Kanchana
Tuesday July 19th, 2005 9:48:08 PM

Kanchana is more than happy to have a guide.

"I need to learn about Green Mages; their rites, rituals and customs. I also would like to speak with any scholar who has knowledge of Taur history and elder profecies. Has anyone asked for the Chosen here in the library?"

Many questions, little time. Kanchana hopes that someone knows something about Green Mages in the least! Kanchana is prepared to spend many hours just here in the library.

Questions and answers. (DM Jim)

Star Mage Guild

The mage nods in understanding to Solgrin and then points to a desk that is in the corner. "You will find ink and all other writing instruments there that you may need." With a look around to the rest of the library the mage shakes his head and smiles. "You should not have to worry about distraction...almost all the mages are gone at this time." He indicates a long length of rope that hangs near the desk and nods again. "If you should have need...pull it." He then moves off to the lower floor again and his charges...muttering that they had better be doing the work assigned to them.

Library of Magic

Zeoll and Kanchana are lead inside of the large library by the young man that seems to work here. The inside is slightly musty and smells of old books. Upon hearing your words the boy shakes his head and then leads you to a small archway that leads into a smaller room. Fixed upon the floor is a pentragram and a low ahlf column that only comes up to the boys waist. "There are three scholars here that research taur history." His brow furrows as he tries to remember all of the knowledge that is in the place and then shakes his head. "As to GreenMages...I am sure we have literature on it but am not sure at this time." He looks to Kanchana with a smile and cuts her a bow. "Do you want me to see what I can dig up after I drop you two off?" He indicates the circle with a wave of his hand. "Please step inside and we will be taken to our destination." He has his hand resting upon the column as he waits for you to enter the circle.

Alleyway

Many ideas are flying through Brahmah's head and he is not sure if any of them will work. He moves off down the street after exiting the alley on the other side. He does notice some shops...but what exactly he is looking for is needed to see if he can find the right one.

Local Pub

Kale, Flat-top, Gecktar and Toros sit in the little bar at one of the best tables or at least the best this establishment can provide. The barmaid, Ellse, comes over with two rather large pitchers of cool ale. She gives the taurs a warm smile as she moves away, not seeing any reason to get money from them yet, then she stops. "Would you like some food...the bread is good as is the cheese...we have an edible vegetable stew and a leg of lamb that is well roasted." She waits to see if they need anything else before she goes. You notice that the bartender seems rather pleased that you have taken drinks at least.

Flat-top
Wednesday July 20th, 2005 8:46:59 AM

Flat-top takes a mug of ale, Drains the mug and suck the mud dry. "Ahhh! that was GOOD! W'ell have another Pitcher of your ale and I'll have a little bit of food, (BERP!) Bread, lettuce, apples and oatmeal. Now do you taurs want any thing to eat with this fine Ale?" He ask the troups.

Brahmah
Wednesday July 20th, 2005 9:29:50 AM

Brahmah is searching, with no real conviction. His first thought is, of course, this city's brance of the Catacombs.

He thinks, 'What would needed for an effective infultration of Vargas army? Different weapons. Keeping the falchion is a give away if I was to diguise myself. If I was going to head in with an antin-Domi mindset, I coould keep my weapons and make sure I have some sort of immunity to mind reading and poisons. I know of a couple things that can do that, but gold is the issue.' He continues to ponder the ideas. He has no doubt that he could get onto the island alone as someone returning home.
The more he thinks about, the more determined he gets.

Gecktar [sub Jay B]
Wednesday July 20th, 2005 9:34:29 AM

The cleric simply sits, eating whatever is set in front of him. He listens to conversation but doesn't say much.

He does, however, rummage in his bag to take a mental inventory of his equipment.

Kale (Sub Cayzle)
Wednesday July 20th, 2005 4:13:13 PM

Kale is glad to make use of the services of the establishment ... good food and drink, a pleasant barmaid, a smiling proprieter. What could be better?

That said, he keeps alert -- maybe too good to be true.

Kanchana
Wednesday July 20th, 2005 5:42:45 PM

Kanchana replies excitedly, "Oh yes please do! I am looking for any lore on Green Mages no matter how small or insignificant seeming, everything is of interest."

Smiling Kanchana adds, "also thank you for guiding us to the Taur loremasters."

Zeoll
Wednesday July 20th, 2005 7:55:13 PM

Zeoll smiles at Kanchana's enthusiasm, but privately he wonders why the Chosen have fled to the winds. Is he the only one who remembers the quest? But he says nothing of this to Kanchana.

Instead, he replies that he would very much like to see the Taur scholars. He has questions about a Taur named Vargas, and about a very evil black sword. Does Vargas have it or seek it? What can they tell the Chosen about it? He directs his questions to anyone who seems like a possible scholar.

Solgrin
Wednesday July 20th, 2005 9:10:50 PM

Solgrin thanks the fellow mage then settles in at the indicated corner table and begins to start to scribe a few choice spells into his spellbook.

Star Mage Guild

Solgrin finds himself very much alone in the library that he is in. He hears no sounds from the lower floor and it seems that maybe magic is at work here to make it quiet. To be expected really.

Library of Magic

The small room seems to jump around Kanchana and Zeoll as the room is flooded with light. The feeling is a sudden jerk that make you feel as if you have left your stomach behind. You find that your are in a room almost identicle to the one that you left but the young man just keeps his hand upon the column. "You might want to brace yourselves...we need to make one more jump." He seem apologetic as he forgot to mention the jerk to you earlier and he gives a wane smile. "Sorry." With a sudden tug and flash of lights, you feel the jerk again and you find yourselves in another of those small rooms but this time the man moves towards the archway in front of him.

You enter a room cluttered with scrolls, books, an assortment of parchment and other oddities that leaves you with the feeling to not touch anything. Well the way some of those things are stacked it might just fall over and bury you under a mound of stuff. "Master taurs...are you here?" The youth seems to be looking around not with interest at any of the books or stuff but for someone. You hear a scraping of a bench maybe and then an older minotaur comes around the corner of a stack of books. He takes in the two taurs with the youth and waves a dismissing hand. "You would be two of the Chosen...but where is your Captain Brahmah?" He seems to have a worried expression on his face as he glances to see if anyone else is coming throught he archway. "There is also the rest of you?" He seems rather worried and suddenly his eyes show fear, as if something unthinkable had happened. "They are not..." He cannot bring himself to finish the statement as he wobbles slightly.

CC

Brahmah comes upon what must be a branch office of the Catacombs. Though this building is only about five feet wide and ten feet tall. It seems to be squished in between the two buildings on either side of it. The sign tells all but how could it hold anything at all in such a small building.

You can take your purchasing power to the real CC, JayB. Unless it is something so mundane that you think I can handle it just as well in game. :)

The Pub

Another four pitchers of ale are brought to the table by Ellse as she gives the taurs a winning smile. She is soon gone and then accompanied by the other barmaid as they bring back four large trays filled with an assortment of food. Meats, cheeses, fruits, bread, meat pastries, fruit pastries, several bowls of oatmeal and an odd assortment of candied pastries pile the trays as they are set down upon the large table. The other serving woman moves off as Ellse looks to the lot of you and sighs as she holds out her hand. "That will be five gold." She seems to be maybe expecting a little something extra maybe but she does not press with any signs. "If you are in need of anything else please let me know and we can maybe get it for you." She does seem happy to be about her work though she is soon sitting at the bar again talking in low tones to the other barmaid.

Flat-top
Thursday July 21st, 2005 10:02:38 AM

Flat-top is feeling Really Happy right about now, he lool at Ellse and open his money pouch. Taking out a Platium coin (1pc=10gp), then gives the coib to her, "Elshe! Thish is for the food,(Burpp!) keep the change Sweets (HIC) Sweet Peee!" (see Flat-top cannot pronounce her name right or almost anything else)

To his friends he tell them "All! all of you leets eat! You never know when we'll eat this good again!"

Toros

Toros cannot help but think Hope I do not fall asleep again after this delicious but heavy meal, while he enjoys his food and drink, "Cheers Everyone!"

Brahmah  d20+8=26 d20+7=19
Thursday July 21st, 2005 6:11:13 PM

Brahmah stops in to the Catacombs (no mundane stuff, sorry :)) and soon leaves happy with his purchase[Jim, I'm still in the CC in RL, so it might be a few days!].

Brahmah walks about, looking up at the sky every so often as Pah'caw soars above.
Make no mistake, the minotaur is ready for anything to happen. Muggers. Pickpockets. Assassins. (Spot 26, Listen 19)

He is still debating Vargas and the war. [Jim, I'll be emailing you with a few questions!]

Zeoll
Thursday July 21st, 2005 7:38:45 PM

Zeoll bows to the elder minotaur. "Hello, sirr. Ourr frriends arre not lost or in perril. They simply had otherr errrands to do."

"Thank you forr yourr time. We arre seeking inforrmation about Varrgas, the warr he intends to launch, and the evil black sworrd with which he seeks to wage it."

"We underrstand that ourr job is to stop him."

Kanchana
Thursday July 21st, 2005 8:36:55 PM

Kanchana doesn't really have anything to add to what Zeoll has just told, so she merely nods in affirmation.

The meat of the matter. (DM Jim)

Solgrin finds that the time just slips away and he goes about his work on getting a few new spells. He is glad to see that none of the books or scrolls have been effected by the water. Even some of the text type books that he pulls down and looks at seem to be very informative.

Library of Magic

The minotuar nods his head with an obvious look of relief upon his face. "That took another ten years off my life...I had thought that our hope was gone." He motions you to follow along with him as he navigates the piles of books and such with ease. Finally you find that you are in a little area that is clear with three large tables with scrolls covering them and writings. He indicates cushions and chairs that it seems the scholars use when they are not busy. "Please sit and I will explain what I can to you." He sits down on a hard bench and shakes his head as he clears his throat. "We of course know of the war that is raging at this moment in the Taur Islands and yes Vargas heads it, under Marteaus's banner. To start with Vargas was not always a follower of Marteaus..he was once a devote paladin of our Father Domi." He waits to let that sink in as he pulls up a cart that has some glasses upon it and pastry rolls. He takes a mug and fills it with water as he indicates you can do the same. "He was betrayed by a corrupt clergy and yes some were even corrupt back then...but he blamed Domi for that. So he turned to the one person that had defeated him and his men in that battle...for him and his men had been sent as peaceful envoys but were set upon and destroyed, but Vargas. To turn ones enemy to your side is one of the greatest things to accomplish, no matter which side you are on...and he was now against us." He takes another sip of water and shakes his head some more. "This sword that he hunts is pure evil...it was bathed in the souls of all those that Marteaus destroyed long ago. Thought the sword was thought lost and not even Marteaus himself knew that it had taken part of the power that he was drawing to him. My fellow scholars and I believe that the sword will change it's form to fit the wielder...longsword or twohanded when needed. Little else is known about the sword really as it was spirited away to be saved for a coming battle. This sword should radiate such a sense of evil that it would make any good person sick...we also figure that it would corrupt your mind as a powerful artifact it would have to be." He lets his eyes fall to the floor as a few tears show upon his face. "Our home is being torn apart at this time and we are powerless to do anything but guide you to try and stop it."

A lovely young liontaur comes into the room about this time in deep conversation with a male centaur. The both stop as the see you sitting with the other scholar and the liontaur looks around with obvious hope. Her face falls as she does not find what she is looking for. They both take seats as the get the idea that you are being given information and that you are part of the Chosen. The minoatur speaks again. "The war has started home, but it was began by all three races in opposition of each other again. Seems they all blame the other for a prophecy getting away and a means to stop this war." The minotaur as well as his fellows all snort and the centaur speaks up. "Yeah...greater power is what all three races was looking for. Domi be praised that you Chosen got the Savior away from all of them." The liontaur female nods her head and seems to have a scowl plastered on her face now, even as she speaks. "Still this has all brought the ancient race out of hiding or at least one of them." She blushes as the other two scholars look at her with disdain but then shrug. "They will have to know anyways as he waits for them in South Harbor." This last is said by the minotaur scholar.

The young man that showed you here returns and hands some scrolls to Kanchana with a smile and a nod. He then slips back out but not before the scholars give him a quesationing look.

Eunice, what you have been given is mostly the information on the board about the GreenMage. As for covens or circles, there is only one know of but that is a rumor...in the CulverWoods. That does not mean that there are not others, just they are a secretive group.

CC

Brahmah had found the real Catacombs and the building is huge. He slips inside and goes about his shopping, for once he has gotten to see the true outside of that wonderful building. After that he slips back out and wanders the streets and ponders his next move.

Ignore my last post of the CC being a branch office JayB. Sorry to say but the real thing is located in Plateau City. My bad. :)

The Pub

The food is great for being such a small pub and the service is quite nice. The barmaid had gasped at Flat-top before making her way over and depositing half the money into the proprieters drawer and then laying the rest into a jar. It seems that despite everything the barmaids split all tips.

Flat- Top
Friday July 22nd, 2005 6:43:06 AM

"Yes! Cheeers!" Flat-top raises his mug of ale. He look at his long time Friend Kale, "Come Kale! How about a frendly fight to keep our mussels limber?? HuH?. Anybody else want to (Hic) wresselez? A little hand to Hand combat??"
Flat-top has this silly smile on his face, almost as if he goning to sleep in his salad?

Brahmah
Friday July 22nd, 2005 8:24:11 PM

(OOC: Brahmah should be done with the CC soon!)

He walks away from the Catacombs, still watching the streets for trouble. He move off toward the Library.

Gecktar [sub Jay B]

The cleric knocks back yet another lager, sets down his pint, and falls, with a thump off the bench, asleep or drunk, or both.

Toros
Saturday July 23rd, 2005 6:58:09 AM

As drunk as he could be Toros responds to Flat-top with a silly smile, "Flat-top, why dont you offer a friendly wrestling match to our lovely barmaid?" Toros is not in a position to be able to pay attention whether the barmaid hears them or not, but if she hears, he hopes she would not mind such joke, as he is very drunk and does not control what he is saying, although he can still speak very fluently...

Flat-top
Saturday July 23rd, 2005 7:19:17 AM

Flat-top loolking at Toros (and His Twin Brother), "Hmmm! westling is a lotst like (Berp!) dan... dancing, I like Dancing!"

Flat-top Stagers over to Elsie nad ask her "Pretty Lady! would yoouu wesssst... WEEE... dace err dance with me??" As he is asking her, he sways a little.

Kale (Sub by Cayzle)
Saturday July 23rd, 2005 10:04:56 AM

Kale enjoys himself, but with greater discretion than his friends Gecktar, Toros, and Flat-top. He keeps his eyes open and senses sharp in case there is any trouble.

Zeoll
Saturday July 23rd, 2005 10:13:04 AM

"This is bad news, good scholarrs, but not unexpected. Please tell us morre about this "ancient rrace" -- and what awaits us in South Harrborr?"

"And what about the sworrd? Wherre was it seen or hearrd of last? Should we trry to find it firrst, or go home to fight Varrgas firrst?"

The liontaur scratches his head, hard. "Something in my hearrt tells me the sworrd is the top prriorrity."

Zeoll ponders, then says, "It is trrue that 'To turrn ones enemy to yourr side is one of the grreatest things to accomplish' -- what arre ourr chances to turrn Varrgas back to ourr side? Surrely that would be best of all? What can you tell me of his historry, the people in his past, his loves and hates. If we could rreforrm him, then that would be a coup indeed."

Flat-top
Sunday July 24th, 2005 8:41:03 AM

Flat-top dances on, but even as drunk as he is. He's alert to danger, and as he swings the waitress around, he alway takes a look around the room for a fight.

Kanchana
Sunday July 24th, 2005 5:25:09 PM

Kanchana is indeed surprised by the news that Vargas used to be a follower of Father Tomi.

She thanks the lad for the scrolls and holds them close to her once he hands them to her. Once they have the information they need to begin to set things more to rights among the Taurs she hopes to read the scrolls about green mages.

"Do any of you know what this sword actually looks like? Do you have any prints or drawings of it?"

Kanchana does not think it is the same as the sword she gave to Jandar, it certainly did not make her feel violently ill to touch it.

Kanchana wonders why they only mentioned one savior when there where two children.

"What do you mean by THE savior?" she asks diffidently.
