Oakclub (NPC - Kelly DM group 3) Saturday July 30th, 2005 4:59:58 PM
The old druid sits upon his mossy spot and waits.
"When you are ready, step upon the moss and we will send you on your way. Before you go, make sure you are finished listening to the bard Ursis, as he has information to get you started, that could be vital. I admonish you to go to the Giggling Ghost and ask him questions if you have not done so already."
OOC: When I get the other 3 CS's we will start. I assume everyone is still on board. If you know otherwise please let me know.
Arm - Plateau City Monday August 1st, 2005 5:02:19 AM
Arm Enters the clearing and sits down cross-legged on the moss, looking around curiously and admiring the scenery. Smiling warmly at Oakclub, he introduces himself and says, "Seems I am the first one here."
Inge OOC Monday August 1st, 2005 2:57:03 PM

Welcome back Inge! :)
Podo Danderfluff Pipewood [Crescent Valley] Tuesday August 2nd, 2005 1:09:16 AM
Podo enters the clearing and sits down cross-legged on the moss, much the same way Arm is doing. Looking around in wonder of the scenery and of Oakclub. Podo smiles enthusiastically at Oakclub and introduces himself saying, "Hope I'm not too late this time...".
Oakclub (NPC - Kelly DM group 3) Tuesday August 2nd, 2005 4:41:21 AM
As you step onto the mossy carpet that Oakclub sits upon, you smell the earthy, wet smell of the deep forest. The walls of the Giggling Ghost melt away, around you a deep forest replaces the walls that you were accustomed to. A deep fog rolls in from one side, as shapes and shadows shift, you see an Inn in the midst of the fog.
The Red Wyrm Inn appears.
From the trees above you, a parchment settles like a feather slowly falling. It lands at your feet.
Oakclub speaks: "I will not be able to be with you on your quest. This letter from Ursis will help start you on your way. Good luck, and remember to seek the truth."
As you read the parchment, the words are clear:
"Go to the Temple of Gargul during the noon hour when the marketplace near there is at its fullest as the people of the city feed their hungry bellies. Enter by the front door as if going in for noon prayers. Wear black hoods and carry the new prayerbook available in the market. Inside open it to Chapter 6 and wait to be recognized. Good luck."
Arm - Plateau City Tuesday August 2nd, 2005 5:47:51 AM
Arm reads the scroll, then rolls it back up, wondering what he has gotten himself into. Smiling politely at Podo, he continues to admire the scenery until Wilf arrives.
Podo - Crescent Valley Tuesday August 2nd, 2005 9:07:53 AM
Podo looks at Arm wondering how cool the ride here was. "Arm, It is Arm, eh? You ever been to the Red Wyrm inn? I wonder where the Temple of Gargul is?"
Podo, checks his belongings readjusting his items, clothes, gloves, boots, and his outfit in general as it looks like they'll be walking soon.
Podo looks around and finds a small clearing to sit down in and await the rest of the party.
Patterton Cloverturn Burrows- Crescent Valley Tuesday August 2nd, 2005 7:43:23 PM
Patty looks around a bit, getting used to his surroundings. When the parchment comes his way, he reads it as well and frowns.
"Sounds pretty cryptic to me. Someone's being awefully careful about all this. Why all the footwork to speak with them? I'm not too crazy about this cloak and dagger nonsence. They could at least be kind enough to meet us at the pub over second breakfast."
Nezamil Tuesday August 2nd, 2005 7:50:28 PM
The dwarf looks around as the GG walls disappear to be replaced by the Red Wyrm's walls " my my another pub.....the gods must be thirsty " chuckles Nezamil
Nezamil walks around the Red wyrm inn a little " so whats the plan ? any idea ? " asks the dwarf to those that preceded him
The dwarf's finely made chainmail clinks slightly as he walks , his heavy Mace resting in a ring holster on his right hip with a shield over his left shoulder.
When the dwarf turns around a strange looking heavy crossbow(repeating) is slung over his back(like a rockstars guitar)"By Domi this feels good to do something to bring the wold back to its senses "
Wilfire- Plateau City Wednesday August 3rd, 2005 12:12:44 AM
OOC- Hi! I sent ol'Wilfs CS again. Did you get it?
Arm - Plateau City Wednesday August 3rd, 2005 6:00:18 AM
Arm says to to Podo, "I'm sorry, but I have not been to the Red Wyrm Inn yet...we've been pretty busy as of late in the Plateau.".
DM Kelly Wednesday August 3rd, 2005 8:49:42 AM
The druid slowly stands with the help of his staff.
"I am tired, and I need to leave you here. I have told you all I know about this quest. If you walk through this mist, it will take you to the Red Wyrm Inn, much like the magical tapestries do. Good luck. Remember that you are to seek knowledge and report back."
Then with a look of concern, he adds:
"Of course, someone took great care to hide this information. They may want to keep it that way. Anyway, Nature hinges upon an answer."
Oakclub then steps toward a large oak and steps right into the solid tree. He is gone.
OOC: I have all the CS, we are ready to go. Kim his been injured in an SCA accident. Sounds like he will be fine, but probably needs someone to cover for him.
Nezamil Wednesday August 3rd, 2005 2:59:47 PM
With a quick wave goodbye to Oakclub and accepts the parchment being passed around " hmm Garguls temple ...great " remarks the Cleric of Domi with sarcasm "this is starting off on the right foot "
"Well if its what we must do then i say lets get to picking up these items so we can at least try and blend in at Garguls temple " as he absently rubs his anvil holy symbol hanging from around his neck
"Who we waiting for ?" muses Nezamil as he looks around at his fellow travelers
Patterton Wednesday August 3rd, 2005 5:41:43 PM
Patty shrugs at the dwarf. "Nothin', I guess. Let's get going." He draws his jewel encrusted bastardsword and exmamines the blade before returning it to his back sheath and looking at the others expectantly.
Podo Wednesday August 3rd, 2005 10:25:33 PM
"I think we should at least try to pick up the items we would need to blend in like Nezamil has suggested we do. Anyone have an idea where we might be able to obtains these items?" says Podo is a quiet voice so as not to disturb the peaceful tranquilty of the area.
DM Kelly Thursday August 4th, 2005 7:20:48 PM
As Nezamil, Patty and Podo gather together and wait for the others to join them, they can see through the shifting mist the Red Wyrm Inn. Other images flash, and they can see that it is in the Plateau City. The Inn is busy, with many people entering and walking by. Time slowly goes by, and they can see the evening creeping in. The sign at the Inn still reads 'Vacancy'.
Nezamil d20=13 Friday August 5th, 2005 12:35:45 AM
The dwarf starts to pace restlessly circling Patterton and Podo as he awaits the arrival of the other volounteers for this dangerous misson
"waiting is the hardest thing to do " mentions Nezamil as he admires Pattertons jeweled sword " thats a beautiful weapon Patterton "
"I think it will be very useful in this quest of ours " grins Nezamil " Domi has granted me a spell that could boost your strength and another your size "pausing a moment " so if you would like those cast on you for battle let me know i'd gladly do so at your request "
"you also Podo ...anything i can do to assist your skills just ask and i'll see what Domi can provide " coax's the dwarf to the dynamic duo ;)
bad roll ,ignore it
Podo Friday August 5th, 2005 12:59:09 AM
"Awesome!" says Podo to Nezamil, "You wouldn't happen to have a spare club, would ya'?"
"I'm a tad short on wood these days!" mumbles Podo.
Patterton Friday August 5th, 2005 1:37:20 AM
Patty nods his thanks to the dwarf at the mention of his blade. "Good for taking care of witches and warlocks,"He says with a grin,"One good swat and it strikes moat things stone deaf...well, most times anyway. Should come in handy against these eldrich types. Here's the kicker..."
Patterton mumbles a few words and the ornate shield on his wrist suddenly detaches and hovers in front of the soilder as though it were alive. He grips the bastard sword two handed and waves it around a bit(being mindful not to get too close to anyone)and every time the blade looks as though it might cut into the sheild, the silvery disk swoops smoothly out of the way.
Patty mumbles a phrase and the sheild comes to rest on his wrist, much like a bizare bird and he slides the sword into his back sheath.
The Hobbit shrugs, "Anyway, that's about the extent of it. I tend to get stuck in straight away ,usually, and I try to keep the big criters busy while the others get around the sides or hit from a distance. Podo here is quite good at that, actualy."
Arm Friday August 5th, 2005 5:52:44 AM
Arm looks on in amazement at Patterton's swordplay and shield, wondering if he should have been more picky with his choice of weapons. Looking around the inn, he wonders where Wilf has gotten to.
Podo Friday August 5th, 2005 8:55:43 PM
Podo wonders why Patterton has a trained detachable shield? "er, Patty...what do you mean to do with the trained shield?"
Podo looks about..."say, how about we get to know one another while we wait for the others? Anyone wish to go first?"
Patterton Friday August 5th, 2005 11:28:30 PM
Patty scratches his head and looks at Podo, "Should be obvious, really. It blocks for me, allowing me to use my sword two handed. The enchantment in the shield senses incoming attacks and intercepts them. Quite handy, actually. But, that's enough about me...why don't you start Podo?"
Kendry Leafwin Pipewood (halfling bard of Crescent Valley, played by Kim M) d20+11=14 Saturday August 6th, 2005 2:40:27 AM
"Say, we could actually see you all through the weave of the tapestry," Kendry announces as he joins his companions in this quest. "So I'm up to snuff on what you all have been chatting about." He looks over his shoulder. "Airin should be joining us right soon."
After looking behind him for a moment, he opens one of the side pockets of his knapsack, and extracts a scroll case. From it he takes out a scroll, which he first unrolls, then, unfolds. "This here is a map of Plateau City. Night's coming on. Now - Arm - you're from around here, right?" he asks. "From the other side of the weave, I looked at the note there as it lay on the ground, just before you picked it up. You know where we need to go, and how to get there? It's one thing to look at a map - and it's another to know the best route based on what may find along the way. Likely we'll need a place to stay for the night. This Inn a good spot to stay?"
The garrulous halfling is dressed in dark green, well-tailored adventurer's clothing. His wavy auburn hair and handsome cheekbones frame his wide-set hazel eyes. As he speaks, one might note a slight gap in his two front teeth - big enough for a toothpick to comfortably slide up and down, say.
A covered quiver is over his left shoulder, resting beside his knapsack. A rapier hangs from his left hip, and fine gloves cover his hands. As he shifts his position, the hint of armor lies under his tunic. A buckler sits on his left bicep - a bit high on the arm for a buckler. Coiled dark leather sits his right hip, fine silken rope is coiled just behind the leather. The handle of a knife or dagger can be seen as he points to the map with his left hand.
"Hey, Patterton, Podo. Nice shield, that, Patty." He reaches into his knapsack and pulls out a club. He tosses it easily over to Podo, just a bit off to his side (toss of 14). "Like my sister, I don't like to travel without clubs," he winks. "Now, you're Nezamil, is it? I'd love to hear about some of your adventures."
As people arrive, Kendry suggests they enter the Red Wyrm Inn, see about booking rooms for the night, and make sure they arise early enough to travel the distance to the temple for the noonday gathering, and that properly attired. "Or, maybe we can go take a look over there tonight. Do some scouting, looking and listening."
Gilan Saturday August 6th, 2005 4:15:09 AM
Gilan pads into the clearing and looks around. He shakes his head and then looks to the others. "So we go to the inn and wait...then go to the temple it said at noon." His eyes narrow and he snorts as he breaks into a large grin. "Black robes and prayer books...hope we are not to join the clergy." He laughs lightly at his own thought, though he would not insult Grymash or his god if he was about. "Still one of my packmates worships Gargul and he is not one to be on the bad side of." If noone else moves forward he will move towards the Red Wyrm Inn and be the first through the door.
When it is time to go to the temple, you find Gilan is already around and waiting...impatiently.
Patterton Saturday August 6th, 2005 1:14:50 PM
Patty gives Kendry a warm handshake as the bard appears, pleased to have his oldest friend and cousin along for the journey.
"Nice get-up, cuz. We were just going to head to the Inn and have a look around, what say we celebrate our journey over a mug of ale? I'm sure our dwarven friends will have no arguments." He adds with a rueful look at Nezamil. "Only one though, we should keep our wits about us."
