Brahmah
Monday July 25th, 2005 4:49:00 AM

The ranger moves on through the streets. Brahmah searches for an inn ot shop to change into his new gear, hoping its safe and private. Privacy was the key, he didn't want anyone to see him in his new equipment. He soon settles for a side alley that has a bunch of trash and boxes to change behind.

The things to do. (DM Jim)
Monday July 25th, 2005 7:03:53 PM

Star Mage Guild

Solgrin finds that he is able to copy all of his spells and wonder about the time. He has the feeling that a lot of time has passed but it does not seem like it really. He once again figures that there is some kind of magic involved in the library that he is in.

Library of Magic

The liontaur looks to the rest and they nod at her so she speaks first. "The ancient race...yes you do remember legends that say that we were originally one race split into three...well that is not totally true, we were once one race but split into four. There is an ancient race of taurs that were not as hardy as the rest of us and they retreated from the Wold. They are called gnoats and are much like a satyr in many ways but they only have little stubby horns that stick out of the tops of thier heads, the typical goatee and are the shortest of our race...at four feet tall." The young liontaur smiles as she remembers the first meeting they had with the one from the ancient race. "He was sent to help with the peace in the Taur Islands. Though the gnoats have taken themselves out of Wold Affairs, they still keep an eye upon their original home....we think so they may one day come back." She nods her head as she hands over a scroll that holds a picture off all three races bent in prayer to Father Domi. It is easy to tell the smallest of the taur races with head bent and wearing robes. "A gnoat awaits you in South Harbor to help you in finding the location of the Black Blade that Vargas seeks. I should warn you that the gnoats are mostly wizards and bards, so they have much more knowledge than even we do...some of which he has been willing to share with us."

The minotaur speaks up shortly after the liontaur stops talking and shakes his head. "We have no idea where the sword is at this time. It is said that it traveled for a while with a zealot group that serves Marteaus but where they actually took the sword is unknown. It is thought that they killed themselves after hiding the sword so that they knowledge would not be found out but by a true follower of Marteaus." With a look to the other two scholars and at their nod he also nods. "You are correct Zeoll...the sword should be your first priority...for without it Vargas will have less of a chance of winning his war for his dark master." The minotaur laughs lightly as he takes in Zeoll and nods in understanding. "Yes...to reform Vargas would be a great boon for our side...but I feel that he maybe too far gone for that." He shakes his head as he thinks of a fellow minotaur that has turned his face from Father Domi...especially one that once served him so loyally. "He was once a great hero for the cause of Father Domi...speaking bluntly you can try but you would have a better chance of talking a tree into falling...well that is my thoughts anyways. As for his history...he was a paladin of Domi at one time who served loyally fighting against the forces of Marteaus in his day. He was an orphan and never really took to anyone, he was what most would call a zealot in his actions. He had no time for love or friends it is said, but as time went on he started to lose his faith but he always held hope. When the followers of Marteaus proposed peace he tried to talk the church into not accepting the invitation but they knew better and sent his unit with the diplomates to negotiate peace. His entire unit was destroyed along with the diplomates and he seemed to snap. He came back a changed taur that ranted at the church for their failings to his men but they said that peace was worth any cost...so said Father Domi. That is when he turned to the one that had defeated him...feeling that Marteaus was the stronger and more worth his efforts. He even boasted that he would show the church their folley by showing them just how stupid they were." The minotaur hangs his head as he speaks about the history of a fellow minotaur and tears flow.

As the minotaur brings his emotions back under control and the female liontaur comforts him, centaur speaks up. He turns his head to regard Kanchana with a mix of emotions. "We are scholars and know much of what is going on in the Wold and the Taur Islands. As to the "savior", we know their location and we say savior as it is unclear if they both will play a part or just one of them. No matter how well you try to see into the future it is shrouded in mists of possiblities...if it was not then we could tell you where the sword was and if you would succed in getting it before Vargas." The centaur laughs lightly and then shakes his head to stave off any anger that might be brought forth. "We only know of the sword through legend...but it does exhist, that we know...though we do not know where it is or what it looks like." He looks to the other two who still are trying to calm down some. "We do know that it is black as night or so says the legends and an artifact of great evil...if one of good was to touch it......" He breaks off as he shrugs his shoulders and you understand that it would be very bad but they are not sure what exactly would happen. "The gnoat will be able to tell you more though and he said something about pieces of a map that would lead to the sword...other than that we know very little more." The three scholars sit and wait to see what else the two will ask or if they will take thier leave now. Still there is a lot to think about and a lot to talk about with the rest of the Chosen.

Streets

Brahmah finds himself walking the streets of Plateau City trying to come to terms with some of his thoughts lately. He has an idea of what he must do...but can he do it.

The Pub

The group has pretty much let itself go as they sit, drinking and eating in the small pub. Only Kale keeps his wits about him though he does indulge in the drink and food. He knows that he must keep his wits at least fairly sharp for trouble. Flat-top wanders off to hit up Ellse to dance and finds her more than a capable partner. She is able to avoid getting her feet stepped on and it is no wonder, she does work in a busy pub most of the time.

Kanchana
Monday July 25th, 2005 8:47:39 PM

Kanchana actually smirks knowingly and looks highly amused as the scholar says that they would have better chance of talking a tree into falling over.

And on a more serious note:
"Does that black sword have any connection to any fae?"

Gecktar [sub Jay B]
Monday July 25th, 2005 9:43:14 PM

The taur lies under the table, snoring off his drinks.

Solgrin
Tuesday July 26th, 2005 5:00:00 AM

When Solgrin has finished copying his spells he will clean up his work area then head off to the Library of Magic hoping to find the other Chosen.

Flat-top
Tuesday July 26th, 2005 6:30:53 AM

After the dance, Flat-top makes a graceful bow, well as graceful as tipsy centaur can make. "It wassh a pleasure (Burp!) Dan...Dan...ce with you. Shall we (hic!) do it again Later?"

Flat-top returnd "Hey! Gecktar! Did you see how well she can dance? Gecktas! Gecktar where are you?" Fat-top wonders, then he look under the table. There Gecktar is sleeping it off.
The Center asking Kale "I though that Minotaues could hold up better and longer, than a few drinks and a sanwitch or two??"

Kale  d20+9=18
Tuesday July 26th, 2005 6:50:33 AM

Kale smiles at Flat-top. "I think Gecktar was drinking while you were dancing."

Kale watches as he chats with Flat-top (Spot 18).

Welcome back, Sam!

Zeoll
Tuesday July 26th, 2005 7:09:31 PM

Zeoll shows no surprise at news of other Taur races. "Being dead forr a couple yearrs brroadens one's perrspective," he says. "I have often thought that the brranches of the Taurr rraces have sprread farr out. I myself have met crricket-taurrs and fish-taurrs, and I have hearrd of spiderr- and scorrrpion-taurrs. I will give these "gnoats" the same rrespect that all of Domi's childrren deserrve."

"So we must go to South Harrborr and meet a gnoat. Wherre exactly should we go? What is the gnoat's name? Forr that matterr, forrgive my bad mannerrs, but what arre yourr names, good scholarrs? I am Zeoll, of courrse, and this is Kanchana."

"I hope you will not mind if I send a messengerr herre to you frrom time to time. I feel that all good Taurrs must stick togetherr in the trroubles ahead."

"In fact, I think all people of good faith, Taurrs and Taurr-frriends alike, need to worrk togetherr. I know a young human girrl, Tash of South Harrborr, forr example, who is sympathetic to ourr cause. If everr you meet, think well of her and be kind, please."

When the trio talk about Vargas's disillusionment with the priesthoods of Domi, Zeoll nods his head.

"Frrankly, although I would neverr turrn to the path of despairr, I agrree with Varrgas. The clerrgy have become sadly corrrupt in the Taurr Isles. I believe that the only solution is to strrip all clerrgy of all temporral powerr. Let each Taurr prray as they will. Let no prriest's worrds rule over anotherr. If prriests' can only advise, if therre is no hierrarrchy, if all who wish to ministerr must take a vow of poverrty, then perrhaps the prriest can earrn back the peoples' trrust and rrespect."

"But I think that seas of prriestly blood will spill beforre the Taurrs arre made whole."

Zeoll's face is grim as he says this, and he unknowingly flexes his claws against the floor as his tail swishes in anger.

The order of business. (DM Jim)
Tuesday July 26th, 2005 10:42:14 PM

Library of Magic

The minotaur scholars looks to Zeoll and actually turns red as he hears the other taur speak. "You are right...we have forgotten introductions in the heat of the moment." He indicates himself first, the centaur scholar and finally the female wemic scholar with a hand. "I am Triag...this is Bretch and the shy one is Otilia." He then smiles again and shakes his head. "The good gnoat that you go to see is named Grath." He shrugs at some of Zeoll's other questions and then nods his head at what he remembers. "Grath said that he had an idea of where a part of the map maybe...but he would not share his information with us." He seems a little disappointed at this but he takes it in stride as well.

Otilia looks to Kanchana as the others talk and smiles at her. "I have delved deep into what little bit is known about the sword...which is next to nothing...but a fae would never touch this sword." With a look of pure speculation and maybe a little bit of wonder she speaks again. "I would doubt that many could touch it but a truely evil person...as an artifact it would be beyond magic that could fool it...though it should be able to be moved that way or maybe with a gauntleted hand, but I would not advise that."

The centaur scholar, who is older than the other two by a lot has fallen to sleep standing. You notice that he lightly snores but not enough to bother anyone as you all talk.

Streets of Plateau

Brahmah finds that the winding streets have lead him towards the Library of Magic though he is in a side alley. He can see the building across the street and he has to be wondering what the other Chosen are doing right now.

Solgrin finds that his steps lead him straight to the library. Out front is a low wall of dirt that he would recon has been made through magic to protect the building from the floodwaters. This building is large and reminds him of the library back in Floating City, this one must have lots of books.

Small Pub

Kale finds the peace that they have found soothing and unsettling at the same time. He most likely would like some action but finds nothing to give him distraction in this place.

Flat-top wanders back over after his dance and a short thanks to the barmaid. He does find his progressed stopped as the barmaid turns his head slowly and kisses him fully on the lips, he even thinks that he feels a tongue push at his lips. As she lets him go back to the table she sighs and looks back to her friend with a wistful look upon her face.

Gecktar has fallen asleep under the table that the small group sits at. He mutters and mumbles in his sleep as Flat-top comes back.

Her friend seems rather startled that the woman was that bold but also looks curious. They both fall into some kind of quiet discussion but the both glance back to the group from time to time.

Toros
Tuesday July 26th, 2005 11:03:32 PM

It has been a good time with others in the Pub. When Flat-top is awake and in good condition, Toros will give the present he has prepared for the Centaur. "Here it is Flat-top, hope you use it in good health. And with this occasion let me thank you for your all good and fun accompany, and also the kind gift you have brought from the Woldcon. It was very nice of you to think of us indeed."

Zeoll and others should be back soon, as well. When Zeoll returns, Toros will also give his present too."Herre is my frriend, use it in good health! Thank you for being with us... again, and always thinking of the Chosen.., for your stories, those dire wolf pelts and ... "

When Flat-top and Zeoll opens their packages they will find one Philter of Shield, ready to be used.

OOC: Please do not forget to read the prescriptions before use at Oshirr House, now you can access it through http://www.woldiangames.com/oshirr/items/philters.htm. Zeoll can ask the memory of his sub-identity, Cayzle, for recalling the written information ;-b

Well come Kale!

And I, myself, after tomorrow I will be away and may not have the conditions to post properly for around one week. Could someone please sub Toros, if I miss his posts during this time interval?

Toros
Tuesday July 26th, 2005 11:09:41 PM

"Waooww nice kiss Flat-top. You lucky, ....."

OOC: I happened to post later than the DM post, although aimed to do before that.

Kale
Wednesday July 27th, 2005 6:33:05 AM

Kale will just nurse his current drink and observe his surroundings until everyone is ready to leave

Flat-top
Wednesday July 27th, 2005 7:49:45 AM

"Thank-you, Toros, This some thing new, I'll have to get use to it. Sit down and have a drink with us before you go.
Oh! Yes! And look out for Gecktar under thr Table! I don't want you to hurt your Paws." Flat-top tell him.

Flat=top face is a little red, But tells his friends, "Gee! Did you see that Woman dance? She's a wonerful dancer, But what she did next is strange to me?? She put her lips on my lips?? Thw=e shr slips something warm and soft into my mouth??
Now I feel strange?? I fell warm all over?? I feel strange I feel that I wnnt more than a Lip Locking?? AND I Don'T Mean Dancing!" he tell his best friend Kale.

Solgrin  d20+11=29
Wednesday July 27th, 2005 8:06:03 AM

Solgrin stops in his tracks as something comes to his mind. Solgrin then turns back around and returns into the Star Tower. Once inside Solgrin will head back to where he had been working and scribe an additional spell into his book. When done he will go quickly to the Library where the other Chosen were headed and rejoin them.

Brahmah
Wednesday July 27th, 2005 3:50:57 PM

Brahmah waits for something to happen in a nearby alley.

Kanchana
Wednesday July 27th, 2005 6:48:12 PM

Kanchana smiles back at the other wemic.

She wonders whether she should mention the black sword that she handed over to Brother Jandar. They cannot be the same sword at least, but quite possibly made from the same materials since fae won't touch any of the two it seems.

"Would it be safe to presume that this foul sword is indeed not a Taur-crafted item? Maybe the elves, fae or humans may know something of it?"

Zeoll
Wednesday July 27th, 2005 8:52:56 PM

Zeoll sighs. He spends a lot of time describing the special anti-fey sword that the party gave to the platinum dragons. Then he turns to the scholars. "Please, tell us that these two weapons -- the anti-fey sworrd and the Black Sworrd -- arre entirrely two differrent things. Unrrelated. Not connected. Nothing to do with each otherr. Rright?"

The next step. (DM Jim)
Thursday July 28th, 2005 2:26:59 AM

Library of Magic

Triag nods as more questions are posed and he smiles slightly as he speaks. "The sword you described is part of another ancient legend. It tells of a sleeper that has power over nature. Though he was put to sleep once before it is prophesied that he will awaken once again due to the dreams of fae." He shakes his head again and gives a smile of reassurance to the group. "That sword you found is one of several ancient artifacts that was used to put the Fae King to sleep last time he was awakened. It is a thing of nature surely and that fact that it is made of coldiron is the reason faes do not want to touch it. Though with gauntlets on they can wield it...in fact it was an elf that wielded it last time to put the Fae King down." He looks to his liontaur partner and then grimaces at the centaur. "Please excuse him as he has been doing research late into the mornings. What with nature on the rise and the war in his homeland...well we all have gotten little sleep." As he rises to go check upon something the liontaur takes over talking.

Otilia's hands clench and unclench as she shakes her head and speaks. "The black sword we think was made by the elves of the deep...or so it is rumored. The sword you spoke of was indeed crafted by the elves to help in defeating the Fae King...the elven smith giving his life to power that sword." She suddenly stops and then thinks for a few seconds and seems to consider that she may not have answered you question right. "The two swords are not the same of that you can be sure. I mean you have not lost a hand or anything from touching it did you. Did it drive you mad or the like...bloodlust would have maybe been an obvious effect of the black sword."

Streets of Plateau City

Solgrin had taken off in the opposite direction in a hurry as if he had forgotten something. He is gone for some time before he returns and once again is outside of the Library of Magic.

Brahmah notices all this going on with Solgrin but has seen few people walking about. Once or twice the alley is passed by small groups of people, numbering maybe five to each.

Small Pub

Kale has kept his wits about him but finds that there is little in the way of action going on in this city for now. Well unless you call the repairs and such going on outside of interest.

Flat-top finds himself back at the table with oddly strange feelings running through his mind. That kiss earlier and something else had set an itch in the poor taur that he could not scratch.

Gecktar is under the table sleeping off good food and good drink. Peace is the only thing on his mind at this time...well at least you hope so.

Toros has gotten some new gifts and passes them out to the two taurs that are still awake in the pub. He goes on for a time about them trying to give them the short version of how they work.

The two barmaids continue to talk but they seem even more fascinated by the taurs at the table. The one that kissed Flat-top must have said something because the other one turns a deep shade of red and turns he face away from the table. When she does look back she cannot look at Kale without blushing furiously.

Jay, taking things slow for you until we get a definite decision. With things not quite working the way you may have wanted.

Cayzle and Eunice, once again I will stat this for the record. The sword that you gave to the "Dragons" was not black anyways...it was a dull silver or gray.

For those of you interested there will be the equivalent of two weeks downtime after this module is over. The next module will have you getting another item needed and then you will start your travels home. So look forward to getting back to the Taur Islands. :)

Flat-top
Thursday July 28th, 2005 7:55:13 AM

Flat-top thinks that the three barmaids are laughing at him, he turn to Kale tells him, "I cannot stand this,I have to hit some body or thing."
Flat-top trots out the door. looking for some one or a tree to hit.

Kale
Thursday July 28th, 2005 10:45:46 AM

watching Flat-Top leave, Kale shakes his head and sits back to enjoy the rest of the night.

Zeoll
Thursday July 28th, 2005 3:23:33 PM

The sage says, "The black sword we think was made by the elves of the deep ... or so it is rumored." -- and Zeoll shakes his head to say "no."

The liontaur scratches at his head, as if to dig out something buried there. "No ... no ... Not by drrow. Not by any morrtal. Someone else made it. The black blade. Someone ... "

Zeoll wonders how he has a powerful voice in his head -- a voice that says, "Once long ago I forged a blade of dark and great power ..." What memory is that? Who's voice speaks in his mind's ear?

The liontaur shakes his head vigorously, as if to clear cobwebs. The beads he wears in his mane clack and click together in a racket.

"Nope. Not drrow. They did not make the black blade." he says firmly.

Solgrin
Thursday July 28th, 2005 3:45:56 PM

Solgrin goes and tries to find the other chosen that are in the Library of Magic.

Gecktar stirs and sits back up on the bench, holding his head. "*OooH...*"

Brahmah
Thursday July 28th, 2005 4:19:18 PM

The ranger stays there in the alley, watching the doors of the Library. He is careful to stay out of sight for the moment.

Kanchana
Thursday July 28th, 2005 4:45:01 PM

Kanchana wonders if the scholars have some sort of tic, they keep shaking their heads all the time.

"My memory seems to fail me... where do we start to look for this sword - or for ways to destroy the sword rather."

((James, when you first described the sword you said it was black, now you say it is dull gray or silver; unfortunately the first description has stuck. The evil weapon shouldn't have been a sword as well.)) ;)

Brahmah (OOC:)
Thursday July 28th, 2005 9:08:42 PM

OOC: Kanchana, we likely handed the evil sword over to a disguised Vargus. :) Themstha breaks. ;)

Jim, you were pretty ambiguous about the sword orignally. I agree with Eunice.

The meeting back up. (DM Jim)
Friday July 29th, 2005 2:46:48 AM

Library of Magic

Zeoll and Kanchana have gotten all of the information it seems they are going to get. Otilia rises and moves towards the arch that leads to the teleporter. "I am afraid that it is time that you were back on your mission." She seems apologetic as she says this and sighs. "We have more work to do chronicling the Taur history...along with our individual projects." The other two taurs wave to you and say goodbye, the centaur having been woken up to see you off.

Streets of Plateau City

Solgrin finds that upon his return that nothing has seemed to change though it has gotten even later, nearing supper time it would seem as his tummy rumbles. Shortly after going inside he will most likely run into Zeoll and Kanchana coming out of a smaller room.

Brahmah is still watching from the alleyway but he does not move to check on his fellow Chosen that he can see. He has other things that he feels he must attend to for now.

Small Pub

Flat-top wanders to the outside of the little pub. He had thought the two barmaids to be making fun of him, still he has a fuzzy feeling when he thinks back to that kiss.

Kale lounges as he just feels good for once. Seems that rest has a nice feeling to it and he intends to enjoy himself to the fullest.

Gecktar slowly wakes and pulls himself from below the table. His head is foggy and he does not remember too much of what has happened.

Toros is lost in deep thoughts on what they will do next and where the other Chosen are at at this time.

Went looking through the archives but could find no reference to the sword as being black. I could only find references to it being made of cold iron.

Kanchana + (OOC To James from Eunice)
Friday July 29th, 2005 5:57:32 AM

Kanchana thanks the scholars for their time and then finds a table to read up on the scroll the young man (or was he a boy?) gave to her to read.

((Did you check the e-mail description you sent me when I first asked for detailed info on the sword, you said it was black (or in the very least dark; I am still looking for the e-mail) - but never metallic, grey or silver in color. Anyway it doesn't really matter all in all at this point, the swords aren't one and the same, but it is as confusing as all heck that this new weapon had to be a dark-colored sword as well.))

((ROTFL!! Jay that was a good one!))

Flat-top
Friday July 29th, 2005 8:18:31 AM

Flat-top cannot find a tree, but there is a big bush around. He trots to it and beats the bush(leaving it a little bald!).
Then trots back in to the Tavern, telling Kale, Gecktat and Toros all about beating the top off a bush, then he adds "If Kanchana ever find out what I did to that bush, She'd jump on my Bach and chew my beautiful tail off."

Solgrin
Friday July 29th, 2005 10:58:40 AM

Zeoll thanks the sages and leaves with Kanchana. When he meets Solgrin, he tells the whole story.

"Yes, it is back to South Harrborr forr us."

As he does chats with the centaur, Zeoll looks down the street (Spot 15) -- is that Flat-top attacking a bush?

Meeting back up. (DM Jim)
Sunday July 31st, 2005 12:50:42 AM

Library of Magic

Solgrin finds Zeoll and Kanchana just inside of the library entrance. He is able to speak with Zeoll and get some information of thier next course of action. Kanchana has disappeared to one of the many tables that litter this floor, rolling out a scroll to look over. She is amazed that the young man had found the information or at least as much as possible in such short amount of time.

Solgrin and Zeoll step back outside of the library and it is then that Zeoll notices a centaur beating up a poor bush. He has seen very few taurs in this town and that coloration is unmistakable as Flat-top.

Alleyway

Brahmah is still in the alley watching his few Chosen go about their business. He smiles as he shakes his head and silently wonders how they would do without him, not that he would leave...just a stray though.

Small Pub

Flat-top goes outside and finding nothing better molests a pour bush that is convenient. He silently hopes that Kanchana never finds out. He never notices the other taurs down the street as he reenters the pub.

Kale, Gecktar and Toros continue to relax as they sit and contemplate full bellies. Plus adventure and trials ahead.

Sorry, looking to add a new player that Jerry was telling me about. Did not want to move us on too far though I can have a join-up at South Harbor. Yes, Kanchana this does mean more boats for you. :)

Kanchana
Sunday July 31st, 2005 2:48:40 AM

Kanchana will make copies of the scrolls before she returns them to a librarian.
She barely has noticed that Zeoll has left the building, and hasn't seen Solgrin enter.

Zeoll  d20+9=28
Sunday July 31st, 2005 7:15:45 AM

The liontaur takes it upon himself to gather people together. He asks Solgrin to wait outside the library. He chases down Flat-top and then Gecktar and Kale. He sees that they are in a nice place.

"Good worrk, frriends! You have found us accomodations. Now just stay herre while I fetch the otherrs."

Zeoll heads back out and brings tells Solgrin about the inn. Then he tracks down Kanchana, in the library or out, and brings her to the tavern as well.

He looks for Brahamh [Spot 28! Woo Hoo!] and if he sees him urges the Taur to join the group in the inn.

With any luck, Zeoll will gather the entire party at this nice establishment. He will talk with the inn keeper and arrange accomodations and food. Finally, he briefs the Chosen on what they have discovered.

"We met thrree Taurr sages -- a male minotaurr named Triag, and olderr male centaurr named Brretch, and a female liontaurr named Otilia."

"The sages told us that Varrgas was once a Paladin. Like us, he was betrrayed by the corrupt clerrgy of Domi. Like us, he became bitterr about the prriests. But unlike us, he turrned to evil forr rrevenge. Now he is an anti-paladin."

"He seeks this evil black sworrd. Out firrst job is to find it beforre he does. The Sages said that we would find a goat-taurr (called a gnoat) in South Harrborr who would help us."

"The good gnoat that we have to see is named Grrath. he knows wherre therre is parrt of a map."

"So we will stay herre tonight and leave forr South Harrborr in the morrning."

Flat-top
Sunday July 31st, 2005 8:22:15 AM

Flat-top is at the table drinking some Ale, when Zeoll Zip into the Room, He tell then to stay here and not to move?? Then Zips out again.

Flat-top puts his mug down, asking the group "What was that?? Sounded like Zeoll??"

About fifteen minuts later and anothe mug of ale. Flat-top sees the rest of the troup enter the tavern, Zeoll explaind as to what they have to do.
Flat-top tell all "Starting tomorow is fine with me, But I'm not going near THAT WOMAN again!!"

Flat-top makes a note to himself 'Get Mint Leaves for Kanchana's Sea Sickness>'

Solgrin
Monday August 1st, 2005 2:14:16 AM

Solgrin listens carefully to everything that Zeoll tells him as they walk along. Solgrin nods to Zeoll when he is asked to wait here at the tavern. While at the tavern Solgrin carefully moves around to a place he can watch the comings and goings while staying out of the way.
When a barmaid passes by him, Solgrin asks "a glass of good wine please and a plater of fruit and cheese please."

But when he heard the barmaid trying to temp Solgain?? He quickly tell his wizard friend "Solgain! Just don't dance with those Barmaids! They have a strange way of saying Thank-You!!"

Brahmah
Monday August 1st, 2005 8:19:04 AM

(OOC: Zeoll, anyone trying to spot Brahmah will have to make a Will save and THEN a spot check.)

Brahmah waits, hidden in a dark alley just off from the Library.

Gecktar [sub Jay B]
Monday August 1st, 2005 8:20:18 AM

Gecktar smiles at the accomplishments of the Chosen and wonders if Brahmah will soon be joining them again, or at all.

"Anyone heard from the Captain?"

Zeoll  d20+9=29
Monday August 1st, 2005 10:28:56 AM

Zeoll's Will Save: natural 20!

Assuming that Zeoll's Spot 28 and Will save 29 are sufficient, Zeoll spots Brahmah and dashes up to him.

"Brrahmah, we arre meeting in the inn overr therre. The Taurr sages in the Librrarry have told us about a goat-taurr we can trrust in South Harrborr who can point us towarrds the Black Sworrd."

The Taur in the Alley
Monday August 1st, 2005 9:55:05 PM

When the strange liontaur approaches the minotaur nearby, he cowers just slightly and downturns his eyes.
"K-kind sir, I's be not need'n tha troubles. I's been t-tols to watches tha taurs called Chosen."

Zeoll notices several odd things about this minotaur.
First, would be his albino features; white hair and pink eyes.
Second, would be the deep hooded black robes.
Third, would be his apparent lack of weapons. The Captain of the Chosen always had a falchion on his person, this taur only seems to have shortswords.
Lastly, is his size. He is a full head and half shorter than Brahmah.

"P-please, lets us go." There is the slightest hint of a wink in the taur's eye.

The taur turns to slip away. It's now clear he is hunchbacked and sporting a nasty limp he's apparently had for years.

The meeting. (DM Jim)
Tuesday August 2nd, 2005 1:43:07 AM

Zeoll has gotten everyone back to the small pub and made quick arrangements with the barkeep. He then slips back out to find the rest of the Chosen, namely Kanchana and Brahmah. He finds an old taur in the alleyway but it is apparent that he is not Brahmah...many things tell you so.

Kanchana is told as she slips out of the library with a fresh set of scrolls in her hand that they are meeting in a small pub down the street. It is a quiet place and rather clean for being so small.

Toros, Gecktar, Flat-top, Solgrin and Kale sit at the same table that the three had taken when they came in. The barkeep comes over smiling at the group a rag in his hands. "Your friend has set up lodging or at least gotten the idea that I have rooms for rent." He looks over the group and nods his head as he thinks. "I have single rooms upstairs if you prefer and then their are three larger rooms out back, used mainly by groups that do not want to split up....2 silver per person for single rooms and 5 silver for a single large room."

Ellse comes wandering over with a tray of stuff for the table. She smiles and gives Flat-top a wink as she lays the tray down beside him and Solgrin. On the tray is a large wheel of cheese with a dagger stuch in it, four loaves of bread and some fresh fruit. She absently brushes up against Flat-top as she turns to leave, an invitation to join her in another dance later. The other barmaid comes over with three pitchers on a tray as well but stops to put it down by Kale. "Wine for the man there as well as another pitcher of ale and some cool cider for anyone that might be interested." She also lingers a little while to get a closer look at Kale before she stands to leave. You can hear her give a little sigh as she turns and brushes up against him with he left hip. She turns to look at him blushing furiously at her brazen act.

Brahmah
Tuesday August 2nd, 2005 5:44:12 AM

Brahmah sits with the others, having found his way to the inn.
Hearing that Zeoll mistakingly thought the old albino was Brahmah, the Captain beging laughing loudly.
"An albino!? With a gimpy leg?! Me?" He holds his stomach. "I don't know whether to be insulted or concerned for you! Haaa hhaaa!"

"Gecktar, is that a bruise on your head?"

Gecktar [sub Jay B]
Tuesday August 2nd, 2005 5:45:24 AM

Gecktar turns red at Brahmah's comment, but says nothing.
Then hearing the offer of ale, he glances at Brahmah and says, "No thank you."

Solgrin
Tuesday August 2nd, 2005 6:16:08 AM

"Thank you" Solgrin says to the barmaid as she sets the tray down with the food. Solgrin reaches over taking the wine and pours himself some the starts to slowly drink while eating some fruit and cheese.

Kale
Tuesday August 2nd, 2005 6:58:13 AM

Kale watches the barmaid leave, then when she's about 30 ft away he gets up and begins to follow her.

Flat-top
Tuesday August 2nd, 2005 9:14:52 AM

Flat-top turns beet red, he tries to be a gentelman, BUT every thing he says come out all muddle "TTThan err kks ouy"

But when the albino refuses a drink, he tells all, "That's Not The Captain! He would never refuse a drink!"

Then watches Kale get up and follow the barmade, he call after Kale "You'll be sorry!"

Flat-top sit there thinking (not about the sea) but about the dance he had with Barmaid Ellse, he get a strange feeling (and it's not in his heart).

Kanchana
Tuesday August 2nd, 2005 11:28:11 AM

(Kanchana had copied everything in to her journal, did she get new scrolls (or copies of scrolls) from the library to take with her?)

Kanchana meets with the others in the inn.

Zeoll
Tuesday August 2nd, 2005 5:16:40 PM

Zeoll apologizes to the strange Taur, and lets him go his way. He is tempted to follow but fears a trap, so he just returns to the inn.

He eats and drinks lightly and rests for the trip tomorrow.

Plan of battle. (DM Jim)
Wednesday August 3rd, 2005 3:09:04 AM

The Chosen have gathered back at the little pub and now have a slight meal set out for them. Zeoll fills them in on what he and Kanchana found out in the Library of Magic. Seems that they will have to be dealing with Vargas but first they will need to stop him from getting an artifact of obscure legend...given power when Marteaus sacrificed many to beat Domi.

Kale follows the barmaid that had brushed again him and when he finally reaches her she leans in close to talk to him. The message is clear and precise...he does not need to seek another place to sleep this night, he may share her bed if he so wishes. Ellse tries her best to get Flat-tops attention and winks at him with a slight motion for him to come over and talk. Seems that Kale will not be the only one to have a chance to get a free room this night...well he may pay for it in a way.

The bartender will once again come over now that Zeoll is back and smile to him. "Your are still interested in rooms....I have single rooms upstairs if you prefer and then their are three larger rooms out back, used mainly by groups that do not want to split up....2 silver per person for single rooms and 5 silver for a single large room." He waits to see if a decision is made and then he will provide key or keys accordingly.

Despite decisions everyone will find the night sleep enjyable as accomodations are made for everyone.

Kanchana would have been supplied with parchment and pen to make copies of the scrolls if she so desired. If she wanted one of the librarians there would have copied them for her. :)

Kale
Wednesday August 3rd, 2005 6:47:41 AM

after listening to the barmaid, Kale tells her that to come and get him once she's off, then he returns to the table where his friends are sitting.

Kanchana
Wednesday August 3rd, 2005 6:56:49 AM

Kanchana would have enlisted the help of the librarians to make copies, but she would also have done some copying herself. Copying all by herself would probably have taken a day!

"I would prefer to share a larger room, it is cheaper," Kanchana says.

Kanchana pointedly ignores the flirting going on, making a scene wouldn't be the proper thing to do - it might scare the humans half to death!

Once room(s) are settled Kanchana will retire early; she will either reread the scrolls first or just simply get some sleep. Also she will be better able to avoid watching all the pre-amourous activity.

Flat-top
Wednesday August 3rd, 2005 7:18:09 AM

Flat-top look to Ellsie, when she winks at him, Flat-top winks back at her. When Ellsie come back to his table, he wispers to her "sweet lips, want to do the Bedsheet Rumba to Night?" By the way she smiled He knew he was to learn more of life.

Flat-top tells the rest of his party, "You Taurs go ahead for the large room, as for my self I'll sleep in the stable tonight." Flat-top has a silly smerk on his face.

Brahmah
Wednesday August 3rd, 2005 9:36:53 AM

"We really should discuss the situation with the artifact and Vargas in private. This place is too exposed, regardless how nice these folk are."

He also ignores the fratrenizing, being used to this activity when making port on the human ship years ago. Whores and other sorts of ladies always liked minotaurs for some reason. He smiles at a particularly clear memory.

Solgrin
Wednesday August 3rd, 2005 9:01:26 PM

Solgrin says "I will share a room with you Kanchana."

When Solgrin goes to the room to rest he tells Rozca "watch the door and windows. If anyone other than one of the other Chosen tries to come in wake me immedeately."

An eventful uneventful night. (DM Jim)
Wednesday August 3rd, 2005 10:10:00 PM

The barkeep lays out a single key upon the table and then scoops up the money for the large room. As the night wears on and it becomes time to search out a little sleep, the bartender smiles and shakes his head.

Kale finds himself walking out the front of the small pub and down the street to a rather nice looking small house. His night is not so restful as the others but he still finds it more than enjoyable.

Flat-top also finds himself leaving the small pub with a woman on his arm, the very same Ellse. She leans into him as she leads him some ways into the city and to her house. It is a large place with flowers covering the front gates and fence. It seems that she is not that bad off in finances, so why does she work in a bar? That night Flat-top is introduced to a new experience, a night of pleasure that leaves him feeling flushed in the morning and well rested...despite the lack of sleep that he got.

The night passes in the large common room for the Chosen. There is still two hours till midnight and Brahmah has mentioned some planning to be done. He knows that he will have to fill in at least two taurs in the morning and he hopes they have fun.

Zeoll gets a good night's sleep and is ready to set out the next day.

In the morning he visits the Catacombs and makes a few purchases. [OOC note: If he has the time on the trip, Zeoll wants to make some magic items with his new feat. I'm hoping we can say that anything he needs to do so he buys now, in the Catacombs, without needing to yet specify exactly what it is he is buying. Is that okay?]

Brahmah (additional)
Friday August 5th, 2005 7:52:21 PM

While the Chosen are still sleeping, Brahmah wanders off to the Library to see if the scholars are available.

If they are able to, Brahmah askes to see them. When he's given a minute, he asks. "Is it possible that we can use my bird to pass messages to each other as we travel home? You can also update us on new information about the sword. Does this sound reasonable?
I think magic, in the case, is unsafe. Sometimes magic is unreliable. Pah'caw, my eagle, is more reliable than I could every hope.
I may have to retrain her as a messenger though. She can be stubborn." He smiles.

Toros
Saturday August 6th, 2005 1:33:52 AM

OOC: Returned from a short holiday, ready to post

When Toros wakes up, he will find Flat-top and ask him to tell whatever he might like to tell about the last night and then congratulate him for being such a lucky and charming Taur.

The travel to South Harbor. (DM Jim)
Saturday August 6th, 2005 3:15:46 AM

The rest is nice and everyone is up the next morning and ready to go. Kale and Flat-top wander in shortly after everyone is up, with a pair of very happy women upon their arms.

The two barmaids detach themselves and start about their business, but they make it a special point to bring two large platters of food to the tables they are seated at. Since the morning is not that busy they join them at the table and have a little breakfast. They do make sure that there is enough food for all of the taurs if they so desire, but they two women spend much time feeding Kale and Flat-top little bits of food.

Soon it is time to go and the two women give thier respective taur a hug and kiss before they let them leave the bar. There is much sighing and sad faces from the two and they make the two Chosen promise to visit.

The trip to South Harbor is uneventful but takes the best part of a week. The weather is fine but you find that you all take a slightly slower pace. For two things seem a little brighter and for the others it is just nice to be outside.

Once in South Harbor the decision on where to go next starts. Two ideas make itself present to the Chosen...the local pub or the docks.

------------------------------------------------

Brahmah had slipped away before he slipped off to bed and was lucky enough to catch the scholars as they were leaving the Library of Magic. They agree to send messages through his eagle if he wants and they will try to supply information but that he will find a better source of information on the black sword in South Harbor.

If anyone wants to try and do anything during that weeks travel that is ok. Just remember that the only real free time you have it when you stop of meals and for sleep at night, though you may stop a little early to make camp and the like. The real "downtime" will be coming at the end of this module.

Over the week, Brahmah hears about the what the scholars had to say.
In the evenings, he goes hunting for food so that he can save his sack of rations for the sea trip home.

(OOC: I would, if possible, like to train or retrain Pah'caw to send or 'seek' so she can send messages... like a carrier pigeon.. :))

Upon reaching South Harbor, Brahmah takes a close look around. (Has he ever been to this harbor before in his past? Do any ships look familiar? Spot 26, Profession sailor 18, Knowledge geography 19)

Over the week-end, Flat-top will say his goodbies to Ellse. Kissing her, telling her that he'll never froget her and if he ever comes back here he'll be sure to come strait to her.
The rest of the week, he pratice his fighting moves, do camp duty and plan as to what to do when they reach South harbor.

When he arrives at South Harbor, He is on guard, looking out for trouble(he remembers the trouble they had the last time they were here!). Also looking at the Tall Ships in the port.

Zeoll  d20+11=26
Sunday August 7th, 2005 10:10:05 AM

[OOC: Jim, if you think this is possible, then great. If not, then Zeoll will go with Plan B.]

[Plan A]

Zeoll hires the smoothest-riding carriage he can find, along with a team of four horses or oxen and two teamsters to pull it. [OOC: Zeoll will pay up to 1,000 gp for this rental.]

Then, during the week of travel, he will spend his days sleeping in the carriage. In the evenings, he will use his time to work on creating magic items. [If this is okay, Jim, then I'll let you know what he is making.]

[Plan B]

Zeoll spends the week of travel avoiding thoughts of the Black Sword. He feels that he needs to digest what he has learned, and chewing things over in his head will not help. So he spends his time talking with Solgrin, Toros, and Kanchana, mostly, about magic and magic items. Zeoll plans and ponders the items he intends to make. He can't wait for the chance to start work.

==========

After arriving at South Port, Zeoll decides to go a-looking for information.

The first person he visits is his friend Tash, the young lady he befriended the last time he was here.

Then he turns to the pubs and taverns that are often sources of information.

Of course, the gist of his search is for the location of Grath the Gnoat. But he keeps his ears open for news of Vargas, the Black Sword, Taurs in general, and any news of nature going wild.

[Gather Info check 26]

Gecktar (gilles is back)
Sunday August 7th, 2005 2:29:52 PM

Gecktar will follow the group to the South harbor. Seeing his companions very alert he stays cautious.

During the next week he will cast a 'cure disease' on every Chosen so they will not be subject to any illness.

(OOC thank you Jay for posting for Gecktar)

Toros
Sunday August 7th, 2005 10:35:07 PM

During this week with not much not_able event Toros will get the chance to focus on the furtherance of his ideas on magical philters.

Studying in Black Genie Center and Rules Center, the lion-taur has developed his abilities to be able to craft magical items, although in the expense of forgetting some of his extant talents.

During this week, everyday Toros will get up early and prepare virtue spells to cast for the crafting of the Philters and then ask the help of his friends to diffuse the Philters with the spells they know.

"Gecktar, Solgrin, Kanchana, Zeoll, Brahmah, do you know any of these spells? If you know any could you please help me to diffuse these into the Philters?!?":

Toros's Philter, Lesser (caster level 1): Can be infused with Comprehend Languages, Disguise Self, Divine Favor, Entropic Shield, Expeditious Retreat, Longstrider, Shield, or Speak with Animals.

Toros's Philter, Improved (caster level 3): Can be infused with Augury, False Life, Find Traps, Mirror Image, See Invisibility, or Speak with Plants.

Toros's Philter, Greater (caster level 5): Can be infused with Arcane Sight, Blink, Invisibility Purge, or Meld into Stone.

While Toros waits reply from his friends he will prepare the spells that he know and craft the Philters for Comprehend Languages, Divine Favour, Entropic Shield, diffusing the necessary spells. This is a tough task though, costing him 12 XP and 150 gps.

Brahmah
Monday August 8th, 2005 6:06:16 AM

"Yes Toros, I know Longstrider and Speak with Animals.
But I haven't prepared them today..."

He then remembers. "Aw yes, I purchased some of those inventions of your a couple days ago. Did you get your comission?"

Kale

"Are we going on a ship again?" Kale asks no one in paticular.

Gecktar
Monday August 8th, 2005 9:49:02 AM

"Yes Toros there are many spells that I can cast for you. I mean Comprehend Languages, Divine Favor, Entropic Shield, Augury, Find Traps, Invisibility Purge, or Meld into Stone."

"Well I just don't have any of these spells inmemory so if you want me to cast some of them, then just tell me which one you want me to cast. I will cost you 20gp per level of the spell... NOOO I'm just kidding I will do it as friend to help another friend." Gecktar says smiling.

"Then turning to Kale "Mmmmh I don't know, but yes it's a good question. I imagine that we will proceed on earth but I may be wrong..."

Zeoll (illegal second post)
Monday August 8th, 2005 10:13:12 AM

[OOC Note: We are taking a week of travel to get from Plateau City to South Harbor. No doubt the flooding and other recent crazinesses makes the trip take a while. After that week of travel, we are in South Harbor. We are looking for the Gnoat. He'll tell us which way to go next. If he sends us home, then we'll be sailing. If he sends us somewhere else to find the Black Sword, who knows?]

Zeoll tells Toros that he can cast Comp Lang, Longstrider, and Speak with Animals. he says that he thinks Toros has made an error -- Speak with Plants is a third level drudi spell, not second.

[OOC: Tunc, I think that slipped past us before? Speak with Plants should be a third level Philter, right?]

The lost taur race and new additions. (DM Jim)
Monday August 8th, 2005 8:11:33 PM

Zeoll had been able to make arrangments for a wagon that could be covered with a canvas for his travels. He soon finds that it would hold two taurs at a time in it and that should meet his needs easily. He is able to barter the man down to 750 gold for the wagon and a pair of willing drivers.

As you pull near South Harbor you see a group of kids at play just near the entrance to the town. They seem to be playing a game with a ball and short stick, throwing and hitting it then running around. As the kids spot the taurs coming four of the smaller ones take of screaming in fear. One though comes running right at the group...a young girl with nobby knees and a smile on her face. You can hear her yelling as she draws closer. "Zeoll....friend Zeoll." She waves frantically at the Chosen as she draws near. When she reaches the group she stops leaning over and out of breathe, but a large grin upon her face. Once she finds Zeoll or he makes an appearance she launches into a full report without him asking. "You won't believe it but another taur came into town about a week ago. Pretty little female centaur and she comes out once in awhile to play ball with us. Then there is this other taur there...a lot smaller than any of you guys though." She brow furrows and then she continues. "Well at least I think he is a taur...never got to ask as he keep talking to some captain lady and her large minotaur friend about using their boat." Her grin widens even further as her eyes flash. "Pirates have been seen near the town...they have attacked some of the merchant ships." As if she suddenly remembered something she turns and takes off running but shouts back over her shoulder. "Sorry have to get home...mom wants me to help with the bread today...and that taur is in the tavern." She is soon lost inside the town walls.

No ships can be seen as you enter the town, having come in further from the harbor. Seeing as how there are new taurs in the town you head for the tavern first to check it out. Upon entering it is not hard to find either of the ones mentioned. Seated at a table is a small taur, from the description given by the scholars, that fits the bill given. Beside him looking at the map he is pointing too with a dagger is a beautiful little filly. The other surprise is that standing at the table bent over the map is a certain Captain and her first mate...of the GossamerWing. They seem to be in some kind of heated discussion that centers around the map and more jabbing daggers, this time from the Captain. You catch snatches of the following from the conversation going on at the talbe. "Boats...merchants...pirates....undead...trouble...money......reward."

Tunc and Cayzle, just email me and we will work out anything that you can get made. Of course if you need help from another Chosen then email them as well so I know that they are willing. :)

Jay, the group was at this port town when you first landed here. Well actually you were dropped her in a pile of dung by a nice little wizardess from Floating City.

Julie, if you have gotten my messages then you are the taur filly sitting at the table with the gnoat. A taur race that has been in hiding and you have been here for at least a week with this gnoat, his name is Grath by the way. :) Jump right in and have a little fun meeting the Chosen and roleplaying.

'Always here when needed.'

'Are they directed by Domi ?' he thinks to himself, 'and this taur at their side where do I see her before ?'

Gecktar search in his mind because of the feeling that he is sure to have seen this taur elsewhere but where...

"Hello, I hope we don't disturb you racketeering this poor little... may I say Taur ?" says Gecktar with a smile that shows he don't believe any word about the accusation he just said.

"And I think you are right Zeoll. We have done a mistake with that spell, it is a level 2 spell for Ranger but actually a level 3 spell for a Druid. Better to correct it as soon as possible"

And Brahmah, yes I received a notice from Catacombs acknowlidging me that I receive a comission from your purchase of my inventions. However, previously I remember you have said a Chosen should not get commission from what other Chosens purchase, when I recently have wanted to purhase your Tattoo. Have you received your commission from that purchase of mine, as well?"

"Captain Lira, Yandana, nice to see you again. You look in pretty good health and condition."

Phaerill
Tuesday August 9th, 2005 2:49:31 PM

The young centaur turns at the approach of the taurs. She smiles at Flat-top and takes his hand in a firm shake. "Well met. I am Phaerill." She flicks her tail jauntily and adds in with a friendly lilt to her voice, "but please call me Rill."

She is a very beautiful creature, her upper humanoid torso deeply tanned and lightly muscular, covered in a brilliant deep green tunic. Her face has pixie-like features with wide green eyes and a wild tumble of coal black hair left loose to pool across her withers. Her equine body is buckskin, a muddy yellowish brown with sooty black stockings on all four hooves and a long black tail.

Zeoll

Zeoll is very glad to see his young friend. She tells him of a new Taur, and Zeollcannot help but wonder if Domi has sent a new Chosen to their aid.

He waves good by to Tash and then searches for the new Taur. He finds her and bows low.

"Hello and Well-Met, Phaerrill," Zeoll says to the centaur. He is a big liontaur wearig leather armor and carrying a greatsword. The beads and feathers in his mane reveal that he is a bard and a priest of nature.

"I am Zeoll, and these arre my comrrades, those who have been Chosen of Domi." He introduces each of the Chosen by name. His accent is thick but understandable.

"What brings you herre?" he asks.

Brahmah the Captain of the Chosen
Tuesday August 9th, 2005 7:40:37 PM

Brahmah is standing in front of the Captain and First mate, then he notices the centaur. He is struck dumb by her beauty.

Brahmah stands nearly 8 feet tall, black haired, deep dark eyes and apparently oldest among the Chosen. He is easily middle aged for a minotaur.

The ranger is far from handsome, having many scars, missing his tail and his left year. His horns are engraved sea/ocean motif and he has tattoos in old Woldian script over rippling muscles.

The minotaur is lightly equipped. Brahmah carries a human sized falchion, a kukri and a mithril shirt. He also has an unstrung bow strapped to his back.

A beautiful golden eagle sits on his shoulder.

Rill's smile brightens upon hearing Zeoll's words. She inclines her head and speaks with a positively delighted tone, "I too am a Chosen of Domi, and was led here, where I would meet the others. Guess I just have!" She laughs lightly.

(Forgot to mention about Rill's appearance, is that she is unusually small for a centaur, with human and equine portions both dainty and almost petite (for a centaur)..she looks to be barely 17 summers in age.)

A short gurgle sound leaks from Brahmah's throat.
