Cats And Mice, To See Such a Sight (DM/Al)
Thursday August 25th, 2005 8:19:22 PM

Making their way down Dagger Point, the group leaves the Crimson Shields and the haven of the Giggling Ghost behind.

To the left, down Crook Street, the way is quiet and apparently clear. Dark bodies litter the street in the distance, a reminder of the battle of the afternoon before.

"Finding the Cat and Mouse gang is only part of my concern." Lord Lorbius turns south toward the Central Stairs. "If we blunder about the Thug Road area long enough, they may find us. Then, depending upon how well organized they are, things could go very badly for us."

"Yet, this may be the only way."

He steals a glance at Celine. Their eyes meet. There is something yet unsaid, and a powerful hesitance lies behind it.

Sly steps in front of both the Lord and the Lady with both hands raised palms out. "Excuse me kind sir and Lady. Before we stick out heads in the noose, I think you need to tell us what is behind all of these hidden looks, sighs, and uncomfortable shifting from foot to foot."

Sly gives them both a hearty smile and goes on, "It is obvious you both have feelings for each other. Your love sparks in both of your eyes when you look at each other. I think I understand that you are from rival houses, but something else is going on.

Before we go much farther, don't you think you should level with us? We are putting our trust in you, don't we deserve the same consideration?"

Peerimus and Yorrick
Thursday August 25th, 2005 11:06:07 PM

Peerimus marks the plants health, he expected no less, he felt it when the dreamer awoke, like a wild call to all who could give ear to the song and he was confident in his connection to the Hymn, that if and when it faded he would fell that as well. Yet the streets are very much abandonded. We left almost a full dozen powerful creatures in ur flight. where are you hiding? Where? Sly's halt to the troop and directness of Lady Celine and Lord Loribus breaks his thought and he finds he fully agrees with the elf .

"Sly is correct. We have seen your dkill and power and you have seen ours, yet you hestiate and are fearful of where we go or what must be done. These are not times to hold back information."

Catching Slys question Jaeden looks back and down (he's mounted) at the Half Elf and raises an eyebrow.

Dalek continues his clip clopping steps for another 10 feet before he too stops, putting Jaeden firmly at the point. While the noble responds to Sly he scans their immediate area [Jaeden spot 12, listen 8 / Dalek spot 19 listen 17].

Once the noble has completed his response Jaeden throws in a query of his own. "Lord Lobius, if I might ask, why do we seek out this particular group?"

When the noble finishes responding to this new question the armored horse rider address the group as a whole, "Someone should keep an eye on our tail." He gives the group a once over, trying to discern where each of the members strengths lie.

Friday August 26th, 2005 12:11:20 PM

Ilsidur swings his axe over his back, and makes his way down the slanting street. Nature and cities, two things which Ilsidur knows very little about. And now it seems that they have come together in a very chaotic situation. "Hope for the best, but be ready for the worst," he thinks to himself as he tries to keep his footing.

The Secret (DM/Al)
Friday August 26th, 2005 9:29:56 PM

Lord Lorbius stands in silence. His eyes look out over the group into the street beyond. Searching for danger? Searching for a decision.

He looks down, a touch at his arm. Lady Celine stands beside him, looking up.

"You come at a fortuitous time for us." The Lord's deep voice rumbles from his broad chest. "The Cat and Mouse gang is not so large a threat that a contingent of House troops could not take them down. But in doing so, we would run a risk so great as to bring down our Noble House." The Lord places a gentle hand against Lady Celine's unblemished cheek. "Both of our Houses."

"Yesterday, we left you suddenly. I had scented the Bael's presence nearby, and his situation was such that we were required to seek him out immediately, if for no other reason than to discover ... Let me explain further. Bael had been searching the Trash Level. And he had found what he was looking for. Lord Tarleth. He found him in the company of several members of the Cat and Mouse gang. And Lord Tarleth was in possession of the Bane of Tosden. It hung, Bael said, about his neck."

"Bael attempted to track them from a distance. However, Bael's forte is not in Tracking. He soon found himself lost within the maze of streets. Lord Tarleth now gone, and Bael himself was lost. He too special measures to extract himself from the maze of streets, and hurried on his way to Gold Level for reinforcements."

"That is when we found him."

Lorbius stares out into the street again. His eyes savor the light of morning as though a possible last meal. And then he begins again.

"The Cat and Mouse gang, as you have seen, are a gang of Lycanthropes. They have, until recently, kept quiet and out of sight. They have kept to their human forms while in the presence of the normal citizens of Floating City. And while they were content to remain so, we felt no need to move against them. But now Tarleth is in their midst, and they go about boldly as the Were and we cannot have this."

"Because ... Because we ourselves are Lycanthropes, and we cannot have the spectre raised within the city." Lorbius again falls silent, this time eyeing the Children to gauge their reaction.

"If it were made public that the noble houses were composed of the Were, there would be fear. There would be calls to oust us from the positions to which generations of our people have worked to rise. Some of us might not be as willing to leave the life that we have built for a life within the Crying Woods. There is the possibility of civil war."

"That is why it is the most forbidden of things to travel in Were form within the city. And when I scented Bael in such a form, I knew that for him to break such a prohibition could only mean the most dire of situations. Tarleth and his Cat and Mouse gang move about in the broad light of day as Weres. Were it not for the unusual circumstances of the Orc Wort attack we would already be undone."

"And Bael has said that Tarleth is ... different. Larger of stature and build."

"It must be the Bane!" Lady Celine breaks in. "Tarleth would not do such a thing. He ... has ever been wild and undisciplined. But to risk the safety of all ... " Celine shakes her head in denial. "He would not do such a thing. He would not."

Lord Lorbius places large brown hands upon Celine's shoulders. From behind he adds his touch to comfort her.

"Bael would have this done simply. Kill Lord Tarleth and return with the Bane of Tosden. I have persuaded Bael that I will be able to bring Tarleth to his senses."

"If we could separate him from the Bane," Lady Celine pleads. "Can that be such a difficult thing? Can it truly?"

Lorbius says nothing in reply. And, as an answer, can silence be any better than a sentence of death?

"How fortunate to have met all of you, I thought," Lorbius says when he once again speaks. "You have power. You have no connections to the city. And you are to leave soon for a land that many still think a myth. What better allies? This is why I could say nothing before the others."

"I have seen your bravery. And from respect for this, I must warn you." The next is said to Celine as much as to the Children of Chaos. "I feel that this will not be easy. It will be very dangerous. And it may require all of the strength and skill and guile that you possess. It may take lives. For the sake of our two houses, for the sake of Floating City, we must go."

"For you, however, there is a choice. Do you understand what is at stake here? Do you understand the secret that must be kept?"

Lorbius takes in the Children of Chaos with his gaze. Beside him, Lady Celine too waits with a self-possessed calm.

"What is your choice?" Lorbius asks. "Will you come with us?"

Savin  d20+13=30
Friday August 26th, 2005 11:44:07 PM

Savin smiles up at the large man and then looks down at his hands. "We have fought a dragon, a vampire, golems and insane mages. The prospect of fighting a creature in were form doesn't frighten me. I would ask that you tell me the best way to fight one. Do I need a special weapon or will my hands be adequate to the task?

I will be glad to come and if I know my companions, I believe they will also, but capturing your brother (Savin looks at Lady Celine) while he is being enhanced by an artifact could be difficult. I suppose we could take on his allies while you try to subdue him and remove the artifact. I must warn you, if he attacks one of my companions, I will strike to kill.

As long as you understand that, I would be honored to come along and help you. I also promise to keep your secret. You are obviously good and noble people who care about this city and its citizens. I won't prejudge you because you have an ability to shift form. Still I must wonder how you were infected and why you didn't get it cured? Is it something passed from parent to child?"

After his speech, Savin will look around for a possible stick, piece of lumber or vine that could be used as a quarterstaff. If he sees one, he will pick it up and using his seldom used nice start to quickly shape it to his purposes.

From his mounted position slightly ahead of the group Jaeden raises his gauntleted hand and stares at the back of it as if his gaze could penetrate the charcol colored steel.

He shrugs and lets its fall.

"I'm still feeling a bit tight from fighting my way to the inn yesterday, considering what may lie ahead is there anything any of you can do to help loosen me up?"

He continues to watch the area for any possible threats.

"Lord Lorbius, we risk our lives daily. This is no different. Also, I believe we are after the Bane of Tosden." He says looking to the others. "So we have no choice, we must go."

"The question really becomes at what lengths are you prepared to go to seperate him from the Bane." He says. "For us, stopping the destroyer is our greatest concern and the Bane in one piece we need to accomplish this."

Niobe
Sunday August 28th, 2005 5:55:00 PM

Niobe certainly missed some info somewhere! Who the heck are the cat and mouse gang and why should she even bother to go looking for them anyway.

Niobe developes an acute headache due to info overload and blanks out Celine and Lorbius for a few seconds.

((Help! Al, could you please put a synapsis after those super long over-informative posts - or send one via e-mail, please. I am having severe trouble trying to sort the info from the filler here.)) :(

Sunday August 28th, 2005 11:14:36 PM

Suddenly Jaeden's head snaps around to once again face the group. "Wait a second... I just realized..." He leads Dalek back over the 10 feet seperating him from the rest of the group.

"Those three that Bael took. If I'm understanding what was going on correctly they were part of a gang that operates in this city. Don't you think it likely that they would know something about other gangs? Surely Bael couldn't have gotten far yet!"

Sly and Luke
Monday August 29th, 2005 10:52:57 AM

Sly listens to Jaeden and says, "I don't know if we should try and trust those three. They did try and play each group against the other. They know they are going back to jail. They could just lead us into a trap and try to escape. I think the streets are to dangerous to have those kinds of distractions around."

Peerimus and Yorrick
Monday August 29th, 2005 11:11:24 AM

Peerimus listens and his mind virtually reels under the lord's disclosure. It was nothing that he had expected to hear. True the Cat and Mouse gang were Lycan's, but a noble house as well, and two at least at that and it almost seems Loribus is implying all the noble houses of this city. Peerimus starts a mental list of what he knows of Lycanthropy, the curse and how it functions. [Know Nature 34]

The druid nods as Firng'ear speaks, "Yes, we too have little choice in this and both of you must be made aware that we will be taking the Bane with us." AS Savin mentions getting the cure, Peerimus cocks his head towards the monk, "You would only cure something that was in fact a disease or curse, gifts are generally kept my friend. It really depends on your point of view."

"I agreee with Jaeden, we should have brought Jonas with us or go try and head Beal off now. Blindly wandering around a Lycanthrope infested area is unwise at best, especially for non lycanthropes who might wish to remain so. We should also most certainly just bring one of them and I personally think Jonas the best choice. It may be a risk of his escape, but the city's future existance with the noble houses intact may be worth that small price."

IF Peerimus does not know much about them already he will ask Loribus to divulge everything the lord kows about Lycanthropey and the consequences of it.

A Desperate Political Situation (DM/Al)
Monday August 29th, 2005 9:26:15 PM

Lady Celine looks back at the group around her. In her eyes is a gleam of desperate hope as she listens to Savin pledge support.

"But is there no other way but to put his life at risk through violent confrontation?" she pleads. "Have you no powers of stealth or deception? I still retain the ability for a spell that can confer invisibility. But the effects will last no longer than one minute. Do you have no such skills or powers yourself?"

"Tarleth is not evil. If you had known him when he was but a boy. He would not willingly perpetrate ... "

"Shu-shu-shu-shu-shu-shu-shu ... " Lord Lorbius place an arm about Lady Celine. "If there is another way." His rough hand strokes her shoulder in comforting motions while he addresses the Children of Chaos. "If there is any other way. Please."

"I am a straight-forward man. Yes, we call ourselves men, despite our differences. And what we have is passed down from parent to child, as you say, in the same way that being human, or elven, or dwarven, is passed down from parent to child. We are not the wild ones, who, once wounded, take on The Curse and attack all others in their feral madness."

"And yet there are many who do not understand this. That or they do not care to." He turns to Jaeden and Peerimus. "You must understand one basic fact of the political climate. To hold power and be as different as we, is to court hatred and suspicion. We must keep our secret at all costs. It may be possible to catch up with Bael, and acquire one of the Anvil Hearts as our guide. That, however, would most certainly be signing the death warrant for the Anvil Heart that was chosen, for I would most surely be forced to put that person to death once their use was at an end. They are proven criminals and manipulators. Can you imagine one like that, holding our houses for ransom with their blackmail? Can you imagine the power they might gain in this city? It is not something I can risk."

"And yet, I am at a loss as to how to find Tarleth. Within the city, my tracking abilities are less than they should be. We may be forced to sacrifice one of them for the greater good."

Lorbius frowns with confusion as both Peerimus and Firn'gaer mention their own connection to the Bane of Tosden. Firn'gaer drops a reference to a "Destroyer." And Peerimus suggests that the Children of Chaos will be taking the Bane for themselves.

"The Bane itself has little value to our House," he replies. "Though it seems to have had some affect on Tarleth, we are not even certain of it's intended use. If this crisis is averted, it should be a small thing to give it over to you. And if you are instrumental in saving our Houses and the peace of the city, this son of Ursidae says that you are well deserved of it."

"But is there no other way to find Tarleth save to use an Anvil Heart as guide?"

(All execept for Jaeden may Roll INT or WIS vs DC15 for the following Inspiration: Highlight to display spoiler: {The Vision of Noxnyx appeared to sense the energy within the group from quite far away. If the energy within the Bane is similarly aligned, it may just be possible to detect the this Second Artifact using the Vision of Noxnyx. If you can figure out how to read the pattern of swirling colors.})

Savin combs the street with his eyes, searching for something that might be used as a staff. This is the same area where, yesterday, the Anvil Hearts tried desperately to find a bludgeoning weapon. There were none to be had yesterday, and there are none here today either. Perhaps on the next level down. The name of the level itself, Trash, is promising.

Jaeden hints to his new found companions that he still retains injuries from his battles in the streets the day before.

Niobe blanks out for a few seconds.

And Peerimus considers what he knows of Lycanthrope. He knows that it is thought of as more of a curse or disease than a state of nature. And so it's exact workings would fall more to one with a Healer's knowledge. But the druid does know that Lycanthropes take on many natural shapes. Bears, Tigers, Boars, Wolves. And now, of course, rats and cats. It is common knowledge that the Curse can be passed along through wounds. It is often thought that the wounds must be inflicted by a weapon natural to the Lycanthrope. But whether that is true or not is also a healer's knowledge. And it is also common knowledge that a Lycanthrope possesses a magical resistance to damage that can only be overcome with silver.

Savin
Monday August 29th, 2005 10:12:29 PM

Savin slams a fist into an open hand and snaps shortly "No! I agree that the Anvil Hearts are evil but I will not willing sacrifice one. Then we are placing ourselves at their level. I refuse to go there."

Savin looks at the Lady Celine, "I understand you pain, but I assume if your brother attacks us, he could infect us? Could you cure us of the disease? I realize that you think it as a gift but we don't and it is only fair for us to know what is at stake before we undertake the adventure."

Savin looks to Lord Lubuis, "I will honor your secret, and I understand the motivations behind it, but shouldn't your good deeds and honorable conduct show the average citizen your heart and intentions. You might be surprised what they will accept. Still I am a stranger here and bow to your knowledge of your own city.

I am a simple fighting man. While I can prevent most diseases, I can't ward off this one with surety. Still I am willing to fight.

Firngaer, can you help somehow? Do you have anyway to find these Cats and Mice?"

"It wouldn't need to be a death sentence my lord," this to Lord Lobius, "...we can question the rogues here on this level. Who knows, perhaps they are rival gangs?"

A shrug.

"But if there is no way to get the rogues help without risking your secret, then perhaps there is another way."

"There are times in combat when you're opponent's defense is too good and you're unable to find a way to strike them. At these times you must give them an way to strike at you. In so doing you cause them to create an opening." He addresses Lady Celine. "Lady, this Tarleth is your brother. Can you think of any way that we could lure him to us? What does he want? What is he after?"

A pause while Lady Celine considers.

"You ask us to find another way. But we can't plan for another way unless we control the encounter. Can you think of any way to bring Lord Tarleth to us?"

Sly and Luke
Tuesday August 30th, 2005 7:27:05 AM

Sly remains silent thinking of ways to draw out the quarry. He is trying but can't think of a thing. Listening to Jaeden, he thinks that would motivate a lycanthrope. Again his mind draws a blank.

Luke notices Lady Celines distress and he whines softly, pads over to her and nuzzles her hand. "Maybe I could sniff him out?" he asks.

Peerimus and Yorrick
Tuesday August 30th, 2005 11:06:26 AM

Peerimus turns to Firngaer, "We were talking before about using the artifact from the gnome archmage to possibly locate the Bane. You are best qualified, and it would leave the Anvil Heart out of it. Loribus is right to be concerned Savin. Prejudice, ignorance and hatred care little for truth. We were welcomed by such within the Ghost. Can you imagine the more common people of this city's reaction given what we saw of the heroes."

The druid then looks to Celine, "as to seperating the maedallion from him with grave injury, that is a different problem. Yorrick and i can be of great strength and if we can hold him, then we may suceed in this regard as well."

A thought crosses through the druids mind as his brow creases and his lips draw thin. "Lord Loribus, you have said as much that you can detect your fellow's by scent. Is it fair to say they could then do the same? If that is so we should mask as many of us as possible. I can hide 10 of us from anything short of magical tracking. We would leave no scent or prints. There is 11 of us all told, so someone will not be covered. I do not believe that should be an animal, Lady Celine, Lord Loribus or Niobe. Jaeden, Savin and Ilsidur make the most sense to me. They are physically strong males and to predators, that may sway them to follow another trail."

Lorbius nods to Savin. "You are right. I would not sacrifice the Anvil Hearts either. To take a live with such calculation is a trail best not taken." He falls to silence at the thought of the prospects left open to them.

"All things are both blessing and curse, Savin," Lady Celine replies. "However, we do know of ways to attempt a cure for those who become inflicted with The Curse. Application of Belladonna will begin the cure. But after that, all things depend upon the willpower of the one afflicted to drive The Curse away."

"Even the little that these three Anvil Hearts know now makes them a threat," Lorbius says to Jaeden as he sits mounted astride Dalek. "They are intelligent, and quick to seize upon advantage. Our questions will leave a spoor along which they may scent. Should they combine what they suspect with the whiff of other rumors, they may come upon dangerous answers and seek to use them."

"As it stands, it may be too late for the Cat and Mouse gang. To have appeared so openly in Were form ... " The noble leaves the thought unfinished.

Lady Celine nods. "They appeared on Open Level in their Were form, in the very shadow of the Overlord herself. If others had been around to witness them, then the investigations that would have followed would have been relentless. One of us could easily be detected by happenstance in such a case."

Lorbius laughs as Luke offers to track by scent.

"You have not been to the Trash Level, Sir Dog. The first visit requires a strong stomach. It is not called the Trash Level for nothing. We will see."

Lorbius and Celine both exchange a look when Peerimus speaks to Firn'gaer. "Not all scent is masked there," he continues, but his interest is quite plainly on the conversation between Peerimus and Firn'gaer. "Your ability to cover our presence would be welcomed, Master Peerimus."

"You possess an Artifact that might locate the Bane?"

The Vision of Noxnyx, if the writings in the book of the gnomish Archmage, Meznock Zezjenel are to be believed, the Vision of Noxnyx may have detected the faint presence of the party through miles of stone by detecting the Chaos within their very being. Could the party not, then, use the Vision to locate the Chaos Bane, The Bane of Seribond in the same way? And if the Bane of Tosden is indeed the Bane of Seribond under a different name, then Tarleth might be found as well.

If the Children of Chaos can only figure out how to read meaning from the swirling colors in the Vision of Noxnyx.

Once again, comes the dance of Chaos and Order. Chaos brings power. Order brings purpose. And you. You have been called once again to prevent the marriage. To bring the Destroyer, the Avatar of Chaos, before his time. To scatter his gift back to the cosmos before he can bring another age of anarchy."

"The Archmage was but a sign. He was one of many that rise, will rise, have risen. All drawn by the power, a power they cannot resist. The same power that is in you."

Lady Watcher lifts a wizened hand and points a gnarled finger at the odd object, so like a brass mirror mounted upon a tripod. It rests still upon the carpet of the Archmage. Colored lights play across the face of one surface.

"Take the Vision of Nyxnox. It is one of the Five. It reads the signs of Chaos power. It will show you the way to the others. You must gather the other four if you are to succeed."

The Vision is to Find Him
Chaos Bane to Bind Him
The Circle Knows the Way, and
The Chime will call him to his Fate
Then when at last, you have him Slain
The Shroud will Offer Up his Soul

"You have the Vision now, Eternal Champions. Gather the others."

Reading The Vision (DM/Al)
Wednesday August 31st, 2005 8:59:39 PM

As Jaeden Ohm looks on, Savin recalls the mysterious artifact taken from the gnomish Archmage Meznock Zezjenel. He also remembers the line from verse given the crone, Lady Watcher, into which the artifact had fit. What was it that Watcher had called it?

The Vision of Noxnyx.

Firn'gaer, now much lower to the ground, opens his pack. Colored lights swirl and play in the air as the wizard grasps the handle of the artifact and pulls it free. Shaped like nothing so special as a bronze hand mirror, the flat upper half of the Vision is filled with a screen of swirling pulsing lines and colors. The lower half branches into three legs, a tripod that allow the artifact to be stood upright.

The wizard also removes from his pack, the transcriptions that he had taken of the gnomish that had crept magically across the pages of the book as the thoughts of the Archmage scrolled across. These notes he brought out, and the book itself.

As Peerimus casts his spell upon the party, touching everyone save Ilsidur, Firn'gaer opens the book. The last time he had opened it, the pages had been blank. Now, across every page the book reveals an explosion of writing. Word written over word. Sentence over sentence. Paragraph over paragraph. Scattered across the pages at crazy angles, as though all the collected words had burst forth from a place of storage to lie broken and tangled. None of it is legible.

The face of the Vision of Noxnyx is, at first, equally illegible. Blobs of color of irregular shapes pulse and shift and merge with their background. They grow and shrink. They shift in hue and intensity. Dark lines travel across the screen as though through three dimensional space. Many of the lines strike the colored blobs, pass through, and continue on.

A throbbing ache begins within Firn'gaer's head, just above his left eye. Could some of the colors equate to the party's own energy? He holds up the Vision and compares the movements of his companions with the movements on the screen. Yes! The colors of each of his companions are not exactly the same, but they are similar. And, as his companions move, the colors grow or shrink or move. One that he identifies as Ilsidur is particularly fever bright and does not pulse.

This may not locate a distant artifact of Chaos yet, but it's a start. With more practice, who knows what might be accomplished by the time the party reaches Thug Road?

Suddenly, several dark lines shoot from various angles and converge on a single spot on the screen. There is a brilliance of orange-red-yellow, and then the blob settles into a smaller pulsing shape.

Firn'gaer looks up from the Vision of Noxnyx in the direction in which the shape would lie. He sees the wall of one of the buildings that still stands. Not far away, the wall turns the corner into an alley. If he is reading the Vision correctly, whatever this shape is, should be just around the corner.

"Interesting effect

Looking at teh mirror, Peerimus shakes his head, "I can make no sense of.."he stops as it is apparent from the wizards shifting view and focus, that Firn'gaer indeed can make sense of it and a yammering side kick is not useful.

Following Firn'gaers gaze to the wall and then to Nilbe and Savin, the two he considers the best at moving unseen and unheard. "I believe we have a visitor just beyond that wall." the druid says quietly, his eyes scanning the area for movement, the puff of dust or debris. [spot 32]

Savin is too engrossed looking over Firn'gaer's
shoulder to immediately try and see what is going on over in the corner. He looks into the mirror trying to determine which light is him.
He points and says, "I think that one is me. Keep an eye on it and see if you can tell I am moving."

He will dart away for about 20' and ask, "Could you tell if that was me moving?"

After he performs that movement he will start focusing in on the attention in the corner. He isn't sure if he sees something, (spot check 31) but calls out. "If you are human or humanoid we aren't your enemy. There are enough plants running around. Please come out! We might be able to help you. It is to dangerous for warm blooded creatures out here right now."

"I think your right." He says in response to Peerimus' statement. "He is there around the corner against the wall," looking at the mirror and the wall, Int DC22 to extrapolate from the Vision of Noxnyx, "Couple of pace down. Don't harm him. If I understand the Noxnyx, he also bears a Mark of Chaos."

Firn'gaer takes special note the greater strength and no pulse of Ilsidur's aura. He hypothesis' that walks a steady path between Law and Chaos. The others, himself included, pulsate and flucuate because the vary from one to the other. Ilsidur may play a key roll in the future.

Change On the Wind (DM/Al)  d20+2=9 d20+2=6
Thursday September 1st, 2005 9:03:37 PM

At the sound of voices, Selena quickly activates her ring and becomes invisible. With careful placements of her hands and feet between the twisting rose vines, she makes her way up the slope of the tilted alley and flattens her self against the wall. As she listens, the voices continue to speak in common. There is the distinctive clop of horses hooves. There is the rasp of metal as it slides against metal. She hears a cough or grunt as from a large animal. One voice says quite distinctly, "I believe we have a visitor just beyond that wall." Suddenly, she sees a brown haired man dart into view. He calls back to those still out of view, "Could you tell if that was me moving?"

Jaeden Ohm notes the direction of Firn'gaer's look, and sends Dalek ahead to quest with his senses. The warhorse pricks up his ears, but no sounds come from the alley. Dalek's nostrils flare, and Jaeden receives a feeling of recognition from his empathetic link. "Smell human," Dalek thinks to his friend and master.

Yorrick and Luke too snuff at the air. Yorrick moans in complaint, insisting that something is there as Peerimus holds him back. Peerimus, though his sight is keen, sees nothing. Perhaps what is disturbing Yorrick is still around the corner.

"Like girls," Luke comments cryptically, his eyes intent upon the corner.

Savin turns in the direction in which everyone else's attention seems to be focused. It's an alley. Even the invisible do not usually escape the sharp eyes of the monk. If something is there, it may be well hidden. Maybe it's invisible. If only it were to move, he might spot it's general location.

Firn'gaer watches as the colored blob on the screen moves ever so slightly. There seem to be many things that are still to be learned about the shapes and colors, but reading the basic things is becoming easier by the second.

Lord Lorbius stands behind Firn'gaer, looking down over the gnome's shoulder. "You can see what is around that corner with this device?" he asks of Firn'gaer as the wizard posits a connection between the Chaos energy within themselves an the strength of the reading from around the corner. The Lord takes a moment to scent the air himself. He turns to Lady Celine and exchanges a look. They both look in the direction of the alley. Neither appears to be concerned.

"I must confess," Lorbius continues, "the patterns have no meaning to me." He looks at Lady Celine, and she shakes her head, unable to fathom any meaning either.

"Can you find things from a distance?" Lady Celine asks. "If you can, it may be possible to approach Tarleth in stealth. Should it not?" she asks Lorbius. Hope shines in the noble Lady's eyes.

"Stand ready Children, there is someone about... a human!"

Jaeden peers down the alley, trying to glipse what he now knows is there. "I can't seem him."

He calls out with authority, "Come out and be known! Cause us no trouble and you have no need to fear."

Restlessly Dalek scrapes at the tilting ground, confused by his contradicting senses.

Peerimus can't help but give a smile as Jaeden talks, lookig at the group this stranger has come upon. "Easier said then done Jaeden, I don't think I would rush to greet us in these uncertain times." the man says with a bit of mirth in his voice. "Whoever it is is merely being cautious."

"Firn'gaer, you say you believe they bear 'Our Mark'? Then perhpas a good faith gesture, Jadean would you please dismount?"

"Lord Lorbius I this doesn't read corners or the like. I think it's like looking down on the area from above. I'm here." He says pointing at a pulsing light. "Peerimus is there, and there is Niobe, Sly, Savin, Ilsidur, and Jaeden. This pulse is our new friend over there. Since about here," he points to where the wall should be, "Is the corner and the other pulse is there I assumed she was around the corner. Make sense." He says.

"It will take some time to read this easily and on the scale of a city. So I think I can use this as a compass for now." He says to Celine.

"I do." He says to Peerimus. "Her pulse on the Noxnyx is similar to our." [It is isn't it?]

"Each of us has the mark." He says.

Except Ilsidur who doesn't vary at all between the two. Could it be his faith that keeps him so steady. I wonder... The mage thinks as he looks into the Noxnyx.

"CHILD WE MEAN YOU NO HARM." He shouts towards the ally. "THE CITY'S DANGEROUS AND IS NO PLACE TO BE TRAVELING ALONE."

Lady of the Streets (DM/Al)
Saturday September 3rd, 2005 4:51:27 PM

Jaeden Ohm, from astride, Dalek exhorts his newly adopted group to readiness. At the same time, he calls for the unknown presence to reveal itself.

Peerimus speaks, and his words are calmer, tempered with wisdom. The mounted fighter takes a cue from the druid's attitude. Jaeden dismounts to reduce his naturally intimidating presence. The point of his Greatsword lowers to the ground.

As Peerimus comments on The Mark, Firn'gaer explains that the figure beyond the corner shares the same characteristics on the Vision of Noxnyx as the shapes that he has identified as the members of the group. The wizard explains the workings to Lord Lorbius, pointing out each person in turn and describing it as a view from above. Strangely enough, as he describes the layout on the screen, it appears to become more and more a view from above.

Selena listens to the voices from around the corner. Though the voices sound wary, they sound neither aggressive or threatening. The several offers of safety, accompanied by requests for her to show herself, sound genuine to her ear. And the one man that she can see, simply stands, staring in her direction, attempting to spot what his companions claim is there. So, trusting to her sense of the motives of others, she drops her invisibility, and cautiously walks around the corner.

Selena introduces herself as "Lady Silverhand." "Who are you?" she asks. And then all of the natural questions flow forth. "Where are we? How did I get here? And what is it that you want from me??" (Jon, please describe Selena in any way you wish.)

Savin extends a hand and a welcoming grin. His eye searches the backs of Selena's hands for the certain sign that she has been chosen Chaos. Both of Selena's hands, however, are bare. Just then, Savin's sharp eyes spot the tattoo on her ankle. Yes, it is there. The stylized fist. Exactly the same as the one on the backs of each of their hands.

"Please pardon our reaction," the voice of Lord Lorbius rumbles from deep within his chest, "it is unusual to encounter *strangers* ... upon these streets at such a perilous time." The noble lord eye's each of the Children of Chaos, a reminder of secrets to be kept.

"Greetings, Lady Silverhand," Celine picks up upon the heels of her betrothed. "From what noble house, may I ask, do you hail?"

Understanding is writ clearly upon his face as it was only yesterday that he was as confused as this lady likely is. Even still the fog has barely lifted.

"A suggestion for the next few hours my Lady, accept what's before you and take it in stride. While he does smile the look in his eyes suggests that he is well aware that that task is easier said then done.

Savin smiles at Seline and says, "Well right now we are trying to track down some wererats and I think weretigers?" he shoots an inquiring glance at Lady Celine to see if she corrects his guesses.

"We are then gonna try to retrieve an artifact from them, fight off any plant creatures that get in our way, and then try and help restore the city to its normal position. Sound like something your interested in helping with? If so it might help to know what your specialties are. Do you fight with a sword, sing spells, or invoke the gods for special powers. If you can't do any of these things, then I suggest you head to the Giggling Ghost where things should be safer."

Building The Brige of Trust - New Friends in Strange Places? (DM/Al)
Monday September 5th, 2005 9:35:50 PM

Jaeden offers Lady Silverhand his hand. He also offers a piece of advice that he has acquired through direct and recent experience.

Selena, with a laugh, quickly passes off the question put to her by the tall red headed woman. She curtseys, and politely takes Jaeden's hand in acceptance of his greeting. Once again, she asks for explanations before turning away from the strangers to become engrossed in the contents of her haversack.

Sly Foxx tells Luke to watch the three Rogues. Luke growls. He looks left. He looks right. "What Rogues?" He asks. The wardog could have sworn that the Rogues had been set back to Gaol a few hours ago. Sly glimpses the mark on Lady Silverhand's ankle. The Bladesinger speaks of trust, and the need to find out the truth.

Firn'gaer, hovering above the surface of the street, continues to look into the Vision of Noxnyx. The shift to a top down view now appears a decidedly real effect. The colors that he recognizes as the members of his party match perfectly his memory of their last positions if seen from above. Of Lorbius, Celine, or Yorrick and Luke, for that matter, there is no trace. Most curious is the representation of Ilsidur. It has doubled or trebled in chromatic intensity. As Firn'gaer looks up to determine whether the view on the screen may be reflected by a change in real life, the patterns on the screen suddenly slide.

Ilsidur watches quietly. But aside from that, appears no different than before. And when Firn'gaer returns his attention to the Vision of Noxnyx, he finds that the view is no longer the perfect top down view that he had before. Odd. Could there have been something that he, Firn'gaer, himself had done to influence the view in the Vision of Noxnyx? And, if so, could experiment further?

Savin engages 'Lady Silverhand' in what cannot help but be overwhelming conversation. He looks to Lady Celine as he mentions werebeasts to this stranger. And, can there be any surprise when she fails to return his gaze? Still, the affable monk goes on to ask Selena of her skills and specialties.

The tall red-headed Lady Celine raises a copper eyebrow at the evasive response from the unknown woman who presents herself with a noble title. Her green eyes turn to Lord Lorbius, and they exchange a look.

"In what way do you claim a bond with ... Lady Silverhand?" he asks Firn'gaer, including Peerimus standing next to him. "I surmise that it is connected to the pulsing lights that you see upon your device. The tattoo that you all possess as well."

There is doubt within the lord's eyes. Still, he asks, "I cannot emphasize enough the dire seriousness of our endeavor. Should the wrong word fall to the wrong ear, the result could mean the downfall of both of our houses at the very least. The situation could very easily escalate into political turmoil and civil war at a very time when this city must work as one to recover from the assault from the Crying Woods."

He turns his eyes on the Children of Chaos, "Will this bond that you share bind her to secrecy as well?"

"Many pardons, Lady Silverhand," Lorbius inclines his head to Selena, "for speaking of you without addressing you directly. However, it does seem, to all appearances, as though you do not recognize these people. Am I correct?"

"And yet they recognize something within you that I cannot fathom. I would not subject you to such questioning were the reasons not of dire importance. Please know that I subject you to such imposition only from the most extreme need. Please explain yourself if you are able. It would greatly ease my mind."

Luke watches Sly slowly approch the Lady. Then shouts at Sly, "IT'S THE RED HAIR!!"

Sly introduces himself to the Lady Celena "Good day to you, My Lady. I'm known as Sly Foxx." By this time Sly has lifted the hem of Celena's Dress, with the tip of his sword and has seen for himself the Tattoo. "I see you are one of us! Welcome my dear." he tells her.
As Luke words are heard by the both of them, Sly tell Celena "Oh! Yes ThaT Big Dog over there is called Luke, Yes he can talk and he's right! You have the same color hair as my Sister Ruby had."

Jaeden Ohm

"I'll leave your answers for another," Jaeden begins while standing before Lady Silverhand. "... as it was only yesterday that I too was going through what you are experiencing." He turns to the others, lifting an eyebrow as Sly begins lifting the hem of Lady Celine's skirts with his sword. To Dalek he thinks looks like we're in for a ride here my friend. Not quite sure how we got involved in all this....

Peerimus and Yorrick
Tuesday September 6th, 2005 2:43:19 PM

Peerimus' brow furrows as the questions fly, confusion mounts and Loribus grows a bit antsy about his recent revelation. He decides it is with Loribus he will start,
"Loribus, the newcomber Silverhand has all the trappings of one marked as an Eternal Champion. Destiny has whisked her here and marked her as well. She is subject to The Bell's toll now and she will be coming with us. What I can not give you is if she will honor our agreement, but we shall try and make her understand the need to." His tone is basic and rather matter of fact in nature.

He then looks towards the newest 'champion' and grimases slightly. Poor women is confused beyond all imagining and between Savin Sly and Luke, bless them all. She looks ready to burst. "Silverhand, I can answer your questions though you may not like them. I believe Jaeden has been deciding since I told him yesterday."

Peerimus moves a bit with Yorrick across the rose vine growth covering the street, which slants precariously at almost 30 degrees. Walking is tenuous at best and to fall would be disasterous with nothing to arrest your tumble. With the woman too, his tone takes a little to be argued with manner and he begins

"We and now you, are the marked descendants in some small way to be teh heralds and champions both for and against Chaos and the myriad of meanings that embodiment entails. To the simple truth, you have been transported to The Floating City in Turtle Lake, which is currently being destroyed by Worts in the Crying Wood. The three Crones brought you hither with the Chaos Bell and the mark upon your ankle brought you to our vicinity. The tipped city in which you now stand is overun with plant creatures in search of food. The rest of us came here in quest of 'The Bane' a piece to an artifact we are assembling to stem the rule of Chaos. The two nobles Loribus and Celine are assisting in this as 'The Bane's' removal will greatly help them and thier city as well. Once we have it, the Bell will toll and we will move on towards the next piece."

Peerimus pauses, knowing the woman is probably dismissing most of what she hears unable to firmly grasp it all, the mind tends to become selective and really the next part is all that truly matters right now. Peerimus speaks again, "What is being asked of you is your word that what you see transpire while on this quest be repeated to no one beyond those you see before you."

The druid then calls over to Firn'gaer, "Progress on using the Vision friend? Time works ever against us."

Secrets Out. Again (DM/Al)
Tuesday September 6th, 2005 9:29:13 PM

The tilted city, its streets are covered in rose vines. Its streets are empty of people except for this one group, five humans, two half-elves, a dwarf and a gnome, with a horse, a large bear and a talking dog. They claim her as one of their own. What better recipe for madness.

Selena Silverhand answers questions as best she can, and asks for a drink to calm her nerves. She looks about the area for something, something perhaps that she had missed before. Down the broad street dark figures dot the slope of the street. Bodies? In the distance, an enormous tower ... No, it is a column rises up into the sky. And one more thing. Many of these new people, they have been showing her, but now that she looks with care, she cannot help but notice, they have the same tattoo that she does. It is in the same shape that hers is now as well. Was theirs a broken eye before? And something else before that? And before that and that and that?

One of the half-elves introduces himself as Sly Foxx. He carries on a conversation with the dog. And then he lips the hem of her dress, saying something about her hair.

The armored man with the horse ... what was his name? ... he says that he came here too only yesterday. Might there be a place for an alliance here? At the least, a refuge against the maddening barrage of new and unlikely details?

The man that seems very friendly with the bear walks carefully across the slanted street. He says they are in the Floating City, a place Selena has never heard of before. He speaks of a quest. And he mentions that they will move on when they are through. A chance to leave? But leave for where?

Still no liquor?

"I take it," the big man speaks again. The one pointed out as Lorbius. "I take it that when you leave, you will have no choice in the matter. That you will all be taken. All of the ones who bear your mark." He looks to the one called Lady Celine. Celine nods in silence.

"Very well. On the next level down, we expect to encounter a group called the Cat and Mouse gang. Be aware that they are lycanthropes as well as thieves, rogues, and assassins. With them is Lady Celine's brother, Lord Tarleth. He bears upon his person an artifact that we know as the Bane of Tosden. It has been in my family for generations, and yet none know what it does."

"Lord Tarleth has been accused of stealing it from my family vault." His eyes avoid those of Lady Celine. "And it appears that the accusation is not unfounded."

"We are gathered to recover the Bane, and if possible, to return with Lord Tarleth as well."

"Also be aware, that Lord Tarleth will be in the form of a Weretiger." Lorbius draws a long breath before he continues. "House Stizein, the house of my Lady Celine and her brother Lord Tarleth, is a noble house built by generations of Weretigers. My house as well, bears the curse of Lycanthrope through generations of it's Lords."

He pauses, and Lady Celine places a comforting hand upon his arm.

"I am sorry," Lorbius continues, "it is difficult for me to speak of these things. It is a secret we guard with our lives, and to speak of it in the open like this is against our nature. It is also a secret that could bring down our houses, perhaps even spark a civil war within Floating City."

"So, you see, Lady Silverhand, why it is that this secret must be kept? Even at the cost of lives."

Meanwhile, Firn'gaer focuses upon the Vision of Noxnyx. Expanding on his mental experiments, he focuses on perspective and changing points of view. There are commands that our brain gives our bodies at every waking moment of every day. These commands work automatically, and with so little thought, that it is difficult to bring them consciously to bear.

Once again establishing his top down view, the wizard concentrates on lifting his head without lifting his head from the screen. It is an effort of imagination as well as intellect and will. Firn'gaer is rewarded as the view seems to lift from the group below and swing upward. It pivots and turns at his will. Firn'gaer finds that he can not only move the view about, but he can telescope the view out as well. Unfortunately, he can only seem to identify the power within the members of the group so far. That, and range is difficult to translate into actual distance.

Returning his view to the Children of Chaos, Firn'gaer cannot help but notice that Ilsidur not only burns much more brightly than anyone else, but he has now developed a pattern of flames around the edge of his image. Whatever is happening seems to be progressing. But what could it be?

Savin
Tuesday September 6th, 2005 10:01:56 PM

Savin will reach into his haversack and find his waterskin, blushing he steps forward handing it to the Lady Seline. "I am sorry but it is only water, still I think you don't want to muddle your thinking with stronger drink. It does seem to me that you are at a crossroads in your life and will need clear thought to make some decisions." Savin sounds a little prim as he says this almost as if he is remembering a long ago lecture he received from someone.

OOC sorry about missing yesterdays post. I could swear I posted but I guess the day got away from me.

Selena
Tuesday September 6th, 2005 10:55:55 PM

Selena accepts the water skin taken a quick drink , corks it back up and hands it back to Savin "thank you, I am most greatfull, Turning to Firn'gaer and his contraption " I guess that I have little choice in this matter and that we will be on our way soon right, " and then turns to Lorbius " I am a Lady and on my honor i shale not shame your house, your secret will be kept save. " With That said Selena quickly rumages through her pack pulling out a black set of leather armor, some daggers and a few other objects, then a small tent and disapearing quickly to change into " work clothing" When her comes back out of the tent (dresses in black leather
across her chest is a brace of throwing daggers and a silver dagger hang from her right hip and a quiver on her left a short bow sits on the ground unstrung. Selena also ties her hair back with a strip of green ribbon. " I am ready when you all are" she says as she lifts her bow and strings it

Jaeden Ohm likes what he sees
Wednesday September 7th, 2005 1:29:07 PM

While Selena changes in her tent Jaeden re-buckles his right gauntlet and gives his saddle straps a once over. Again he mounts, this time sending a questioning thought to Dalek. "Are you ok on this slope my friend?"

As Selena exits her tent Jaeden glances over then does a double take. While there was no disrespect in his face before, seeing the Lady geared for battle seems to have sparked both a new respect and a small half smile.

"My name's Jaeden Ohm by the way, glad to have another along." With that he continues along their previous direction.

OOC: Note for DM
Jaeden will ride if Dalek sends back to him that its ok. He will walk if the horse expresses difficulty.

Peerimus moves back to the others and waits for Silverhand to do whatever it is she is doing. He takes the moment to cast Longstrider adn shares it with Yorrick. Again using the extending Rod. He also answers Loribus, "Yes she will no no thier is little choice in the matter to leaving when the bell tolls."

As Silverhand emerges he moves to where the group will shortly be heading, Yorrick with him. Taking up a Point like position, he scans the road ahead.

Some Come. Some Go. (DM/Al)
Wednesday September 7th, 2005 9:30:37 PM

Savin finds nothing but water to offer the Lady for her nerves. Better a case of nerves than a loss of wits.

The woman known only as Lady Silverhand, accepts the water. She also accepts her fate. Pledging secrecy to Lord Lorbius, she steps away, and when she emerges, the Lady is dressed in dark leathers, as much a part of the party as anyone else.

On the heels of Savin, Sly Foxx offers a courtly apology. He also offers his name and a his life history. He questions her about her skill with the bow, something that they both have in common. Luke gives Sly a dubious eye, wondering if there is more than professional interest here.

Jaeden also gives the Lady Silverhand a second look. There's just something about a lady in battle gear that stirs a man's ... thoughts. As did Sly and Savin, Jaeden introduces himself by name. Swinging to the saddle, the fighter directs his mount across the slanted street covered in vines.

"Not good," Dalek replies. "But not bad." The trained rider makes an assessment of his own. They should be able to move at a normal pace across the slanted streets. Even a hustle might be possible. Everything aside from a run, and they should be fine.

Ilsidur is quiet. Niobe is as well, the half-elven rogue/ranger watches the newcomer with observant eyes.

Peerimus confirms Lord Lorbius' suspicion. All that bear the mark of Chaos will leave together when they are called. The Lord of House Ursidae nods in acceptance.

"We thank you for your gracious word, Lady Silverhand. It is comforting to have more skills to face what lies ahead. I feel that the task will not come easy. Your hand, your blade, and your eye are welcome."

As Peerimus moves ahead to take point, Lorbius moves up beside the druid and his bear companion. Yorrick scents the air, and his mouth opens in a large sloppy grin. Oddly enough, Lorbius returns the smile, something silent passing between them.

The party moves south, down what the Children of Chaos has come to know is Crook Street. As the group continues down the street, Firn'gaer continues to become more and more adept at manipulating the Vision of Noxnyx. The group passes the site of the battle they fought the day before. The bodies of the purple orcs still litter the street. Up ahead, near the mouth of the ramp leading to the level above, the green bodies of Assassin Vines and Shambling Mounds lie heaped upon the plaza.

The party moves to the east across the plaza, skirting the edge of the huge Central Pillar of the city. The ramp leading down is on the other side. The streets are strangely empty. Where have all the plant monsters gone? Has something happened outside the city to draw them off?

As the party reaches the other side of the Central Pillar, with the dark opening to the ramp in sight, Ilsidur stops. He blinks and shakes his head.

"One moment. Only a moment, please," he says. "To tell them I will be alright. To tell them not to be concerned." Ilsidur nods his head to an invisible presence and then raises his eyes to the group. "I must leave now," he announces. "The gifts given to me as the Balance between Chaos and Law have been taxing my soul. I must ... retreat and regain my strength ... for what must come. I ... I will return, when the time is right."

The dwarven cleric's eyes close. Nothing happens. And then a small thread of dark, draws a trail through the air from Ilsidur's hand. Small dark motes swirl, turn and expand. It is the tattoo, and the many dark dots form in the air, recreating the stylized fist of Lady Justice. The fingers open. They flex and roll like a stretch after waking on a sleepy morn. Then the fingers gently wrap around the dwarven cleric. They fold around him until he is engulfed within the fist. Gently, the fist tightens. It squeezes. On the screen of the Vision of Noxnyx, Firn'gaer sees the image of Ilsidur shrink. And then the hand opens again. The motes of the giant tattoo hand break apart, fragmenting. They scatter with the sound of a heavenly sigh, blown away by a windless wind.

On the ground where Ilsidur stood is a wooden doll. The likeness to the dwarven cleric is perfect. There is no doubt that in this form, he can be carried along with little trouble, frozen in doll form, waiting the day when he can once again waken to duty and destiny.

[Greg has requested a leave of absence. You'll have to do this without Ilsidur. -- Al]

Sly watches as Ilsidure Starts to disapere. He will pick up the doll like statue of Ilsidur, "You have been a second Farther to me Almost at the start of the Children of Chaos. Now if nobody objects I'll carry the doll of Ilsidur. Is that alright with all of you??"

Sly waits for an answer.

Luke ask Sly "Can I play with the doll?"

Sly answers "No, Luke! Not this doll."

Peerimus and Yorrick  d20+6=25 d20+13=24
Thursday September 8th, 2005 10:26:56 AM

Peerimus easily notes the exchange between the were creature beside him and Yorrick. Ursine blood must run through his veins. Such a wondrous gift it would be, But I fear that from what I have seen in Loribus' behavior I might lose other gifts were I to embrace his. But perhaps... The thought trails in his mind as the group rounds the central pilar and Ilsidur transforms.

The loss of the Cleric and major source of healing is a mighty blow to a group who delves into such dangers as they. Peerimus rubs his chin in silent thought a moment more. "Of Course Sly, might I suggest the magical chest as the safest location."

Peerimus moves out towards the ramp. [listen 25 spot 24]

Savin
Thursday September 8th, 2005 11:51:06 AM

Savin hears Ilsidur's comments and is surprised that the steady dwarf would choose this moment to surrender the fight but still there have been times when Savin to has been tired and wanted to rest.

When Sly picks up the doll, Savin looks alarmed. "Ahhh Sly are you sure the one to carry it. I was just picking up your spare shirt the other day, and Luke likes to chew things. We want Ilsidur back in one piece you know, not missing vital things like his foot or arm." Savin pats Sly on the shoulder and grins at him showing him he is teasing.

Savin stays alert as the group moves through the desserted streets of the Floating City. His eyes scan back and forth looking for trouble and his ears strain for the sound of trouble.

He looks at the Lord and Lady and asks, "So when is the wedding day. It is obvious to all you love each other. That is the most important thing right? Seize the moment. Peerimus can marry you if you wish?"

Niobe
Thursday September 8th, 2005 12:18:54 PM

Niobe keeps a good distance to the newcomer, Lady Silverhand.
She is dismayed by Ilsidur's taking of leave - that wasn't expected - but she cannot blame him for not wanting to stay here. She'd leave in a heartbeat if given half the chance.
Niobe really could care less what happens to the nobility here; they don't have her sympathy... being lycanthropes didn't help one whit either.

((Al, I'll try and do the best I can with your storyline. Sorry for missing the ADM report twice in a row as well.))

Firn'gaer  d20+7=24
Thursday September 8th, 2005 1:02:00 PM

Firn'gaer looks up from the Noxnyx when Ilsidur's aura begins to become very different from the others. He sees the transformation and is almost speechless. "Good-bye friend. May the road always be open, the weather fair and the gods keep you safe on your journeys."

Turning to the others in a melancholy, "Let's keep moving. We have big task ahead and lack the time for good-byes."

He continues to look at the Noxnyx now attempting to expand his vision.

Jaeden Ohm
Thursday September 8th, 2005 1:41:00 PM

At Ilsidur's words and susequent departure Jaeden raises his eyebrows and gives a shake of the head. He turns to look at the faces of each of the Children of Chaos to gauge there reaction, a bit of wonder flashing across his expressive face.

After a few moments of silence as each digest the implications of the clerics departure the warrior speaks to the group.

"Quite the powerful tattoos we each bear. By their mark alone I've been accepted without pause. The same is now true for Lady Silverhand." He nods in the Ladies direction as he says this. "Now a member leaves and on each of you I see an easy acceptance many holy men spend their lives searching for..."

He peers at the back of his gauntleted hand as if he could see through the plates to the tattooed hand beneath. With an intake of breath he looks up continues, trying hard to find the level of easy acceptance the older generation of Chaos Spawn have seemingly discovered. "Well then, shall we continue?"
