Zeoll Sunday November 20th, 2005 7:20:09 PM
Zeoll readies a Hideous Laughter to cast on the lead advancing troll as soon as it is in 30 feet. (Will save 13 includes the -4 penalty)
After casting the spell, Zeoll moves away 20 feet back if he has any action left.
Toros Monday November 21st, 2005 10:25:04 AM
Holding the fire at one hand and lighting any arrow/bolt to be thrown, in case, Toros then retreats with the others.
Gecktar Monday November 21st, 2005 11:46:08 AM
Gecktar was ready to fight, adrenaline flooding in his vein. But the words of Brahmah are true. The best fight you ever have is the fight you avoid.
He let the trolls entagled and follows his captain.
"We must hide our tracks or they will follow us... And we will not have the advantage of the already cast spells"
Flat-top (AC 22 96/96 HP) Monday November 21st, 2005 12:58:02 PM
Flat-top is the last one in the line up, he makes sure that the party ahead of him is as safe as he can make it. "Good! Let's hurry..."
Ban Maeve Monday November 21st, 2005 3:14:28 PM
"I will run with you, but we will be chaset. Two of the trolls ton't look like they have been caught in the weeds and will soon be free. Shoult we not take atvantage of our situation?" Ban asks as he begins to retreat with the others, keeping the other fireball scroll handy just on case.
Brahmah Monday November 21st, 2005 8:14:57 PM
As the Chosen move, Brahmah casts another Entangle tattoo to overlap the other Entangle spells. He continues to move away. He looks at Ban. "We are taking advantage Friend. We're running." He knows Ban sees the leader as a coward, but Brahmah doesn't care. He'll explain later.
An escape or a reprieve? (DM Jim) Monday November 21st, 2005 10:49:07 PM
The Chosen race off back down the hill a ways and then turn into the slightly more dense brush that covers the hills. As you race from the trolls you wonder how much time you have bought or if the trolls will let you go.
Brahmah is hoping that the extra entangle spell places the way it was would help in slowing down the trolls further. He does not care what the others think of him right now but he has reasons to escape.
Flat-top brings up the rear of the group keeping an eye out for trouble and for the trolls that they left behind.
After having made some five hundred yards through the area you all stop to catch your breathe. You are not actually sure which direction that you are traveling in right now...escape being a better idea than direction at the time.
Well played folks.
Brahmah Tuesday November 22nd, 2005 2:19:19 AM
Brahmah picks up the pace. He begins to jog and prepares for a long run. (Has Endurance feat)
Gecktar Tuesday November 22nd, 2005 2:28:57 AM
Gecktar come close to Brahmah catching his pace and just says "This was the good choice captain..." then he catch his breath and trys to follow his jogging captain
Toros Tuesday November 22nd, 2005 4:24:03 AM
Toros continues to retreat, occasionally looking behind to see what those Trolls are doing. However, he starts to think that they may not need the fire any longer.
Flat-top Tuesday November 22nd, 2005 12:00:58 PM
Flat-top still holding the rear so that every one will be safer, "Good Job Captain!" But still run as fast as they can.
Zeoll Tuesday November 22nd, 2005 7:06:50 PM
Zeoll backs up and runs away with his friends, following Brahmah. He does his best to keep up ... he is faster in the sprint than the minotaur, but loses the endurance race.
Ban Maeve Wednesday November 23rd, 2005 12:48:18 AM
"I can unterstant the wistom of you choice back there, Brahmah. I was just unsure that we woult be able to get away. I titn't mean to question your authority, it was not my place." Ban looks slightly dejected, as though he has just commited a moajor faux pas.
The dead run. (DM Jim) Wednesday November 23rd, 2005 2:07:55 AM
After about a five minute breather the group is back on the run, literally. They push themselves to the end of their endurance and then try to push it even further.
The land just seems to run on before you, direction is still not an issue. The pace begins to tell as you start to feel the burn of lungs and muscles that are not use to extended running like this. A little figureing will tell most that you have put a sizable distance between yourselves and the trolls, if they were detained by the entangles long enough.
Constitution DC 12 from all of you. If you pass you are able to keep running but if you fail the roll than you must slow your pace to a walk.
Listen DC 16 checks needed. If you succeed than you notice the sound of heavy boots coming in your direction.
Flat-top d20+3=22 d20+7=11 Wednesday November 23rd, 2005 7:27:31 AM
Flat-top runs but has a feeling that they are being followed, he looks behind but see no one. He does notice that Zeoll is slowing down abit. So the centaur will match his friend gate, "Tell me Friend Zeoll! can you see if any one is following us?"
OOC: Constitution check 22 - Listen chech 11 ( he hears nothing) The feeling of being followed is a prize that Ceil won in lotto. It's a female centaur named Qualla and she's following Flat-top. She's harmless BUT a Pest.
Zeoll d20+2=22 d20+3=23 Wednesday November 23rd, 2005 2:38:55 PM
Encouraged by his friend Flat-top, Zeoll catches his wind and keeps running (nat 20 on the Con check, woot!)
And as he runs on silent lion-feet, he hears the sound of heavy boots (Holy smokes! Another nat 20 on the listen check! Gosh! What a waste of great crit rolls!).
"Hey, frriends," he calls softly, "overr therre -- something is coming!"
Gecktar d20+2=6 d20+3=17 Wednesday November 23rd, 2005 3:27:50 PM
Gecktar keep the pace for few minutes and then stop out of breath. "Please slow the pace, I'm tiring ...
he turns to the sounds he hear far from the back.
(Con : 12 ; Listen 17)
Brahmah d20+4=14 d20+10=29 d20+10=14 d20-1=13 Wednesday November 23rd, 2005 7:49:10 PM
(Constitution of 18 w/ Endurance)
The ranger looks back to see if he has left anybody behind. Seeing Gecktar slow down, Brahmah slows a bit in response.
(Listen 29) Then he stops almost entirely. "Foot-fall from behind us! Yes Zeoll, I hear it. Boots." He looks around. (Spot 14) "I can't see much from here."
"Were the trolls wearing boots?!" He tries to remember if the trolls were wearing cloths even. (Int 13)Memory escapes him.
Brahmah (ADDITIONAL) Wednesday November 23rd, 2005 7:50:07 PM
When he stops, draws weapons as a precaution.
Ban Maeve d20+2=18 d20=16 Wednesday November 23rd, 2005 8:36:19 PM
Seeing the leader slow down, Ban also slows then stops. As Brahmah draws a weapon, Ban draws his bow. He points it in the direction of the boots, ready to fire if the target appears hostile.
(Con 18; Listen 16)
Toros d20+12=22 d20+9=16 Thursday November 24th, 2005 12:35:53 AM
Toros does not have so much trouble to keep up with the group, and as many others, is able to hear the approach of some others, although there has been no news from the trolls.
The taur checks the torch to replenish the fire, if necessary with the help of some magic, and gets ready to light the arrow of Ban, if he shoots one.
Flat-top Thursday November 24th, 2005 7:10:21 AM
Looking around to see if any trolls or any body is following them, But he see nothing. "I still have this funny feeling! But where did you say you heard Boots Noises?" Said Flat-top as he gets his Morning Star off his neck. Arming himself just in case.
Ban Maeve Thursday November 24th, 2005 12:20:16 PM
"Flat-top, they are in the tirection my arrow points."
Zeoll Thursday November 24th, 2005 5:07:50 PM
Zeoll readies another entangle to cast on the newcomers should they look threatening.
The big problem or OH MY. (DM Jim) Thursday November 24th, 2005 7:56:07 PM
Brahmah lets the group know that booted feet come up from behind them and the group turns as one to meet the threat. All are prepared for a fight to the death when they spot...nothing.
As if on an impulse you all turn to find that while you had been occupied with the events behind you...a small group of giants have come up from the direction that you had been moving.
You find yourselves looking upon the forms of four large grey skinned giants. They are dressed in earth tone armor, that would appear to be leather. Each one carries a extremely large and long spear over thier shoulder and a large bag at their side, much like a belt pouch you think.
They in turn are staring at your group with a mixture of interest and wariness. You get the idea that they are sizing you up and that they do not see much as one points and says something to one of it's fellow giants. This causes the other two to snicker at that comment. The last of the giants and the one that you would guess to be the leader has the butt end of his spear planted on the ground and grimacing hard at the lot of you.
Brahmah Friday November 25th, 2005 4:03:11 AM
"What say you? Friend or foe?" Asks Brahmah, his swords out, eyes unblinking.
Flat-top (AC 22 96/96 HP) Friday November 25th, 2005 7:08:13 AM
Flat-top turns to talk To Ban, then look up to the giants standing there. "Friend Ban, lower your bow and turn arround, and please don't fire you arrow just yet??"
Flat-top is very intrested as to what Brahmah will have to say and how loud he has to yell at them??
Flat-top will not make a treathing move, and just let them snicker.
Toros Friday November 25th, 2005 10:16:54 AM Assasin Vines, Trolls, Giants, what is wrong with this place Toros cannot help but think, facing the four gray skinned giants.
Troubled with the idea to be under a surprise ranged attack, Toros activates his protective ring (free action) and a protective spell on himself (Entropic Shield, 2 minutes), standing in a defensive position (+3 to AC).
Gecktar d20+9=23 Friday November 25th, 2005 1:16:04 PM
Gecktar makes a step before the team and the says bowing lightly "Finally we found representants of this country... It's a pleasure to meet you. We are crossing you territory but I fear that other beast aren't going to just go through it. We've encoutered Trolls recently, just on the above hill and it seems that they want to establish here in your territory. Would you like us to show you the place ? His could be the price for going through your country"
(diplomacy 23)
Zeoll d20+20=23 Friday November 25th, 2005 4:14:37 PM
Seeing that Gecktar has things well in hand, Zeoll simply calls out, "Yes, glad to meet you!" (Aid Another attempt roll 23 to give Gecktar a +2 on his result)
The liontaur does not draw his weapon.
Ban Maeve Friday November 25th, 2005 11:04:47 PM
Ban lowers his bow and eases up on the pull just enough for it to not be construed as threatening. "Very well Flat-top, let's hear what they have to say," he says in lowered tones.
