Tishe notices that priest P3 has cast Plane Shift, and is gone.
Priest P2 is ganged up on by Bralin, Gilan, Podo and Kendry's magical whip. He does not stand a chance, and dies before he can attempt to infect anyone.
The wall collapses, and Airin falls. Patty rushes in to save her, but is unable to catch her. Airin takes 10 points of fall damage, and luckily none of the pieces of the wall strike Patty.
Nezamil looks around, satisfied at a job well done.
Kendry pulls out a wand, to start healing those wounded. However, before he can use it the tapestry starts to heat up. As the heat becomes unbearable, he pulls the tapestry out.
The tapestry starts to glow and pulsate, suddenly it flashes a brillant white, and all are momentarily blinded. When your eyes adjust, it is obvious that all of the treasure and adornment of the cavern is gone. A thin stream of light comes from above. Drifting slowly down through the stream of light a group dressed in ancient clothes looking as if they were new, come tumbling in to the room. A voice in command, but calm, instructs the others:
"Careful students. Drink your potions, a battle has just taken place here."
The man then looks at you and asks:
"Ho there! Noble or Monster?"
Bralin(AC 26, 60/96hp) Tuesday November 8th, 2005 8:20:53 PM
Bralin brings down the final priest and looks around for the next foeman. Finding none, he responds to the multiple queries regarding needing help.
"I require healing," he says, holding out his hand for the wand.
Before the dwarf can receive the wand, the ancient teacher and his students come into the scene.
The man then looks at you and asks:
"Ho there! Noble or Monster?"
"Noble," Bralin replies, axe at the ready. "State your purpose."

Podo looks around for the next enemy Priest, finding none...looks for fallen comrades.
Upon hearing Kendry's questions for healing needs, Podo raises his hands saying, "Hey, Cuz, I could use a flick of your healing wand."
Seeing lights spill onto the ground from above, Podo looks up to see and hear Ancients and their brightness spill into the room from high above the once large pile of treasure.
Podo ponders aloud, "Master, Are you Alemi?"
In answer to the teachers questions, Podo answers, "We are Nobles, Master."

"The last beater truely has gotten away", the mystic tells the others. Plane Shift! she thinks, a powerful spell. It is good to know the cleric was more interested in protecting himself than hurting us or more nastys may have arrived...
All thoughts are stopped by the bright light (oh!) and the sparkly decending of the new group tumbling into the room. How facinating!
"I and all these shady walkers are of the Noble Races, my lords and ladies."
She waits expectant for another piece of the puzzle.

Gilan slowly melds back into his human form and then shakes himself as he looks to the remains. His smile is more feral than before as if he is still living in the body of his former shape. His eyes sparkle with barely concealed battle lust as he looks to Kendry. "Ciaran could use healing as could......." He never finishes the statement as a new presence emerges in the room and the decorations are stripped away.
Looking to the scholar that addresses them he shakes his head. "For me that is hard to say...I am in many ways both...noble and monster...my closeness with the fauna of Mother Wold is close." He tries to puzzle out this obviously simple question but keeps coming back to his tie with Mother Wold. "Maybe I am both." He gives it up as he drops his hand to Ciaran's head, scratching.
Ciaran is willing to accept the scratching now that he knows his brother is safe from harm. He looks to this new person but does not seem to care much and is not sensing danger...yet.

His attention diverted by Airin's cry, Kendry is about to run over to where she tumbled to the ground, surrounded by fresh rubble, when the tapestry makes it presence known from his quiver. He pulls the scroll case from the quiver, grabs a corner of the tapestry and pulls.
It flashes brilliantly - and Kendry squints his eyes tight. As the red afterimage subsides, he observes those coming in ancient garb.
He hastens to the side of Airin. "My precious Airin, look what's happened!" He looks her up and down.
To the man who asks the question, Kendry answers, "Well, I'm a hobbit, if it's all the same to you, sir, and I must heal my sweetheart, if you don't mind."
"You know, you're beautiful covered in dust," he tells Airin, "if perhaps a wee bit pallid." He expends three charges from the wand, restoring 19 hit points to her (UMD succeeded each time: 23, 25, 28). He then passes the wand to Bralin. "You're next," he says. "You know how to use it?" He gives the command word to Bralin. "Help Podo when you've taken care of yourself, all right? Tishe', Snout, and anyone else."
"Halfling," Kendry reiterates. "And, according to some, at least, noble. Maybe royal, but there's nothing to boast about that. Don't worry about Gilan, here. He just looks like a monster, sometimes. I'm Kendry. Kendry Leafwin Pipewood. What might we call you, sir?"
With the treasure and furniture gone, the halfling uses his peripheral vision to see if the bodies and possessions of their recent opponents remain. He would like the party to be strengthened by whatever non-wicked things the Red Eyes will no longer be needing.
Airin and Erwen Wednesday November 9th, 2005 9:57:40 AM "noble" Airin says and thinks with it "that is if you don't take into account this embarassing fall"
As she's being healed (Airin is now at 59Hp/60) by Kendry she lovingly smiles at the bard. Don't they just make a great pair?
Airin gets up from the ground, wipes the dirt from her clothes, fixes her weapons back in position, and turns around to see those new ones who have just arrived.
At the dissapearing gold Airin thinks to herself: "DAMN... it's gone! And I was just thinking about getting myself some nice thingies... better luck next time"
Erwen flies down to check on her master, yet she mockingly shrieks to Airin... as if she wants to say that Airin makes a lousy bird...

Looking at the stranger who spoke, you can see that he is a young man in his early 30s. He has a disciplined air about him as well as a stated humility of face and manner. Tanned, wearing a monk's robe, and a shaved bald head, he looks formidable and wise beyond his years. His 12 students are mostly young human males, with heads also shaved. Mixed in though are 2 human females dressed differently, and a male dwarven warrior and a male gnome.
After hearing several responses, mostly stating 'noble', he speaks again in a soft yet firm voice.
"Noble then. The difference is in the heart and soul."
Looking at Gilan: "You have a wild and savage soul, yet you are not a monster."
When Podo asks if he is Alemi, he catches the attention of the man.
"I am not your Master, yet you speak of Alemi. I am merely a servant of Alemi who has been released to seek his own path."
When the blunt dwarves and hobbits seek his name and purpose he adds:
"My name is Domi, and these are my students. My purpose, to seek out why a battle takes place in this cavern. You are dressed strangly. Who are you?"
Looking around he adds:
"Where are those you fought?"
You notice that the bodies of the fallen are gone, and the stone wall is completely gone also.

While on his knees, Podo looking down says, "Although I am not in the priesthood I have chosen to follow your teachings and now as I grow older I am also intriged by Alemi's teachings as well. All that knows of you, knows of your great courage and your great friendship with Alemi. They also know that are the Wold's first monk. I too have spent years following this path, although I am only in the 9th rank. So you see, in a special way, you are my Master."
As for the answer to your question, "perhaps it was but a test...we fought against the Priest of Marteaus, but my Cousin Kendry the bard can tell you more of the details than I."

The scholarly man intrigues Tishe' and the short woman moves closer, muttering to herself. "He says he is Domi and talks as if Alemi is gone on. We are in an ancient temple where ghosts show the way and seeking answers within a tapestry depicting the time before Marteus came to the power of godhood."
Her eyes brighten and her voice gets louder. "Perhaps this is a shadow of who Domi used to be, so bowing and scraping will do little good and only make the 'man' uncomfortable."
She steps forward again and bows as if to a senior scholar in a collegiate. "Domi, I am called Tishe', a practitioner of magic arcane and divine. I don't know where our enemies went, but it is not they that we seek. I and my friends are on a quest for knowledge, seeking a greater understanding about a piece of tapestry that has come into our possession."
She looks back at Kendry, willing him to take up the tale.

Then the man reveals himself to be Domi and Gilan cannot keep from giving a smile. He looks to the others and their reactions as he looks back to the scholar. "Are you the current Domi or what he was before he came to divinity?" He has only met one god in his life and he does not get the impression that this man before him is the same but that does not mean much. "Um, with due respect, friends, perhaps a bit of circumspection would be appropriate," Kendry says. "It is a signal honor to meet you, Domi, and your students. Clarify, if you would, one statement you made. Did you mean that Alemi has been released to seek his own path, or that you have been released to seek your own path? Perhaps the style of speech is slightly different here, but to my ears, I do not know the correct interpretation."
After asking this question, Kendry says, showing deference and taking care with his words, suggests: "Perhaps more has been revealed than ought to have been. Or more precipitously than is wise, at the least. Suffice it to say, our foes we have left behind, in another time." He considers whether he ought to mention Gargul, but decides not to, yet. "They sought the tapestry, and wished to twist it to evil ends. We believe it can be used for weal. Would here and now be an appropriate time to show it, or might we choose a more discreet setting?"
Though quite capable of communicating a lengthy account of all that has transpired, the halfling is not certain that would be wise to do - especially with the students here. The other members of the party have already given them enough information to choke upon. But, perhaps with Domi and Alemi, and those whom they trust, he might feel more comfortable in adding more detail.
"Please, do not take my reticence as a lack of trust. When I am very thirsty, I may drink a quart or more of water. But I do not pour it down my throat in two seconds. Some would go down the wrong pathway and into my lungs. Other would splash all over my clothes, or come out my nose.
"When pouring water into a cup on my desk, I stop when the cup is full, or nearly so. Only after I have drunk some from the cup, do I then pour more. Otherwise, the water overflows onto my papers, or my clothing, and I have a mess I must clean up. I'm not sure the analogy is apt, but, so that none drown, perhaps a slower telling, and properly spaced, will quench the thirst, without unwanted side effects."
Kendry, as the others are talking, takes some time to help heal those among the party who are injured, discharging up to 10 effective touches with the wand (should have rolled d20+17, not +15 on Use Magic Device) (over the course of 14 attempts - last two rolls not needed).

"Your words and actions are strange. As I said, I am not your master, but instructor to these students only. Alemi is my friend, and was once my master. I am now free to follow my own path."
Looking directly at Podo: "You say you are a monk? That is strange, for I have recently decided to call those who seek my path the same. You cannot be one, for you have not been my student."
Looking at Tishe: "A shadow of who Domi used to be! My good woman, I am in the picture of health. You seek knowledge?"

Looking at Nezamil: "You also claim to be in my brotherhood, yet I have never met you."
When Kendry starts talking of water, and quenching his thirst, Domi seems to get impatient. He looks at his students, and says: "I have oft said that words are your best weapons. It seems our new friend is well armed, and perhaps thirsty."
Looking at each of you and greeting you, he senses that something is very different here.
"You are strangers here, that is clear. Yet you speak of knowing Alemi and myself. This tapestry you speak of sounds important. Please, save your story for Alemi the Headmaster of the Oshirr House. He will know more."

As they walk along, Kendry approaches Podo. Quietly, he says, "This is exciting, no? A chance to go to the Oshirr House. To meet Alemi? And Domi! Wow! Who knows who else might be here?"
He is surprised that Domi reacted the way he did to his word picture. Not meant as a weapon at all. Just his way of communicating that torrents of unexpected information might be hard to swallow. Then he realizes that indeed, he is thirsty!

You exit the cavern by the same passage that you entered. The door is no longer there, and the passage looks rough and natural instead of the finished walls of the temple that you saw before. The tunnel twists and turns, gently climbing. Following Domi and his students, you finally exit.
The sun has just risen, and the sky is clear. A gentle wind blows from the west. The no buildings can be seen, and the landscape looks untouched by 'progress'. Thick stands of trees are mixed with meadows. Streams meander through the meadows, where massive deer feed. You see a huge bear lumbering through the meadow. Birds fly overhead. Erwen takes to the sky, where she is dwarfed by a pair of eagles who appear high in the sky.
A small path leads to the east.
Domi takes a long deep breath and slowly exhales. You notice his students do the same. He then looks to make sure all of you have made it out of the tunnel.
"This way to the Oshirr House. Alemi will see us there. We are at war, be watchful."
You look down the path and see it goes a long way before gently turning to the north.

This is more to his liking and he reaches down to run a hand through dirt and grass in turn. "This is more like it." He then turns to make sure the rest made it out ok.
Ciaran moves out of the underground area and is soon lost to the stream where he drinks a little water. He rolls in the grass for a few minutes and generally enjoys himself. He then comes back to stand near Gilan.
As they move out to make it to the Oshirr House, Gilan keeps his eyes open for trouble. He pulls out another potion and then moves closer to Peerimus, sensing that he has a need to talk...in private more than likely. He does take the potion and drinks it down with a sigh.

The dwarf returns the crocodile's grin " was that a wink ?.....hmmm.....that croc might be smarter then the average croc " muses Nezamil to himself as he keeps abreast of the croc as they walk towards their meeting with Alemi " whoa!!.....a chance to meet two gods in one day " remarks the Cleric of Domi aloud.
Podo Danderfluff [AC 25; 55/78hp] Monday November 14th, 2005 8:35:51 PM
Walking along with the group, Podo answers his cousin kendry, "Yes, Cuz, this is exciting. Who would ever dream being able to actually speak with and have a conversation with ones mcuh admired Deities?"
Seeing Domi and his students pratice their breathing exercises, Podo knowing them by heart will also practice. Podo takes a long deep breath and slowly exhales. Stretching, and loosening up himself as if he will spar with fellow students, Podo has never felt more relaxed or confident within himself and his abilities as he does here at this moment in time and with these people.
Kendry Monday November 14th, 2005 9:17:36 PM
"At war with whom?" Kendry asks when Domi tells the group that they are at war. "Is battle imminent?"
As they travel along, Kendry looks with wonder at this earlier, fresher Wold. He looks at Airin, trying to see through her eyes. "Eh - should Arwen maybe come down here? I wonder whether two older birds, and bigger, might consider this their domain. On the other hand, maybe she'll make friends with 'em." He waits to see what she might think.
Kendry winces as Nezamil remarks aloud about meeting 'two gods in one day.' Then as Podo makes his comment, he takes Nezamil and Podo aside. Speaking quietly and earnestly, he says, "Uh, Nez, and Podo, eh, you might not want to refer to them as 'deities' or 'gods' here and now. How would you feel if someone walked up to you and started bowing and scraping, wanting to offer you up sacrifices or such? That's still in their future - and I'm worried that bringing in too much knowledge from our time might mess things up - both in this time and in ours. And what will others who know them think? And, if they are here, then so are Gargul, and Eberyon, I expect, plus others. But, yep, it is an invigorating - and terrifying! - thought. Let's be careful with our mouths, friends. As Domi said, the tongue is a powerful weapon - and we don't want to wound others by carelessness of tongue."

Tishe' notes the passage is different and the temple is gone; they have moved further back in time then. "I wonder", she muses aloud, "are the tests over or is coming here but another test?"
Oshirr House. The beginning of everything. The wonder is within the small woman and her brown eyes sparkle with immense curiosity, yet Kendry's words are sobering. "This is a shady pick, the warp and weft of the beginning of the Wold", she mentions to Nezamil, Podo, and Kendry. "But Domi doesn't know he's a Walker so let's not get him shuttlecocked over his threads in the future."
Airin and Erwen d20+10=19 d20+10=30 d20+11=28 Tuesday November 15th, 2005 9:42:47 AM
The clean air and glorious visions are enchanting to Airin. Her love for nature is only strenghened by all this beauty and like Domi and his pupils she inhales the pure air.
Kendry's warning for Erwen taking to much risk flying with those two other birds make Airin return with her feet on the ground. Kendry's right... Airin tried to raise Erwen and teach her not to fly with strangers... hmmm... well she still remains an Eagle. A predator. And one hell of a spy!
"Be carefull Erwen" Airin thinks, hoping her message will reach the bird before she gets herself into trouble.
Meanwhile Airin follows her friends keeping an eye out for trouble. If these good men are at war... trouble must be brewing!

As you travel along the path, Domi answers Kendry's question.
"We are at war with the monsters. They seem to have become more bold and cunning. Battle is imminent, but we do not know yet from where they come or when they plan an attack."
One of the young men pipes up: "I have heard that there are too many of them to count, we will be overrun."
Looking at his students, he uses the moment to teach.
"Do not let fear into your mind, the soul must remain calm, even in battle. Remember, battle is not always physical."
You get to the portion of the path where it turns North.

Podo thinks long and hard about what his cousin Kendry has said about his own behavior and what affects he might be having on this situation here in this time and place. Thinking to himself Podo thinks...how sometimes his cousin really chaps his hide...how Kendry must have the play script from the Gods, how does he always seem to come off as snooty...maybe he's right...Podo allows his thoughts to trail off into oblivion while he walks with Domi and Domi's students.
Domi and Fear
Listening to what Domi has just said about Fear, Domi treats Fear as if its a thing, given life by some people. Thinking about it, while they continue their long walk, Podo formulates and whispers to himself,...Fear is the mind killer...Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration...I will face my fear...I will permit it to pass over me and through me... And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.... Podo thinks, "Wow, thats really something...I'll have to finish the saying though...something is missing."
Alert while walking
Podo flexes, stretches, and when limber, reaches for his Darkwood Quarterstaff. Using the staff as it was intended, Podo practices with it while walking to keep his mind on the Art of War.

"Parnothians", she names the cunning monsters, "another pick of Marteus. We will have to be very alert and help Domi and his blackhands on the way to Oshirr House."
"Stay shuttlecocked, Snout", she tells the croc as she pulls her brown hair back into a pony tail, "with Airin's companion overhead, we should have some warning time, but it is always the best pick to be careful."

Domi quickly looks over and says:

The barrage of stones continues as you stand fast, wary of a trap. This time the kobolds seem more bold, since the first volley of stones did not result in retaliation. Now, as they move around to get in position to use their slings, you see that there are at least 30 of them.
This time, with a greater number of stones flying, several find their mark. Bralin 2 HP damage, Kendry 3 HP damage, Airin 1 HP damage. In addition, two of Domi's students are pelted by stones.
Domi stands tall and proud and urges his students to remain calm.
The female mage, Tharpeia points her finger and utters some words. Bolts of energy fly from her finger, and a kobold falls to the ground.
The twelve students fan out along the road, and bring out slings of their own. Stones fly and 5 kobolds are hit. The kobolds howl in pain, but remain standing. Curses are uttered in Draconic.
Then, a kobold screaches out in a high voice in common.
"You will all die! We are too many, and know your secrets."

Caught up in thoughts Airin was unable to do much the past few seconds. Now she sees rocks fly in both directions.
"BE PREPARED TO CATCH THEM WHEN THEY COME OUT THE WOODS", Airin calls out, while she makes a few more incantations and in a whispering voice she adds "Een vuurbol voor mijn vijanden!!"
Behind kobold K1 suddenly a 5ft flaming sphere appears!! The bol sets flame to the folliage and trees behind the kobold and races 30ft from south to north somewhere behind K4!
Hopefully the fire will set flame to the trees where they are hiding in forcing them to move to the road! If there's a trap they might even fall into their own trap!!
The fire will also block the view for k12 to k10 (hopefully ;-) )
Erwen sees the tactic Airin tries to use and comes flying in shrieking madly behind the kobolds. She simply hopes to scare them all, once again forcing them out of the forest!

Bralin warns of a trap, while Domi guides his students in retaliation with slings.
Tishe brings out a wand, and bolts of magical energy shoot towards two kobolds. The bolts hit and they cry out in pain as they fall to the ground. Tishe is able to make out the curses. Highlight to display spoiler: {Nobles hah, you are food!}
Gilan volunteers to check out the trap, and awaits help from his teammates.
Airin decides that if it is time to take away the advantage of the ambush. A sphere of flame erupts behind K1 and moves towards K4. The trees near the front of the grove burst into flames. Chaos erupts and the kobolds near the trees try to escape the flames. Now it is clear that more kobolds were hiding, as 8 run out from the burning trees. Five of them are caught off balance as they run and fall to the ground. The ground collapses beneath them and a huge pit opens up, stretching for 40 feet along the bend in the road. They fall screaming onto spikes.
Peerimus calls forth hornets, which attack K8 mercilessly. He falls to the ground, and soon he only twitches from the stings.
Nezamil shoots two bolts at K3 as he runs from the trees. His second bolt drops him. (kobolds AC 18)
Domi's students continue to sling stones at the kobolds. 8 kobolds are hit, and 5 of them drop to the ground. The mage attacks again with magic missles, and another kobold drops.
Kobolds are running and screaming, a few still are able to sling stones. None of the stones hit with enough force to cause damage.
The stench from the pit is now overpowering, and you can see some Troglodytes in the pit. (Everyone except Peerimus needs to make DC 13 Fortitude save or be sickened for 10 rounds)
There are now about 16 kobolds running around, and a blaze spreading through the grove of trees.
Tishe' (AC 22 HP49/56) and Snout (AC 21 HP28/32) d20+8=22 d4+2=3 d4+2=5 3d4(1+2+2)+3=8 Monday November 21st, 2005 10:39:36 PM
The stench is bad, thinks Tishe', but no worse than some of the dye concoctions that Mother used in the weaving shop. She is able to withstand the trog's maleficious odor.
"You are a fine shot yourself, sweetie," the mystic replies smilingly at Nezamil. The croc at her side grunts, and Tishe' smiles. "Snout likes you, too."
While she targets two more kobolds with magic missles (6 and 8 points respectively), the brown eyes lower in thought. "So the monstrous races are working together?" she shouts her question to Domi. "I thought they would be natural antagonists."
Still walking with the others, she takes care to dodge when another stone or spear comes (fight defensively (+2 to AC)
Gilan(hp70/77: ac22)[wildshape:] Ciaran(hp48/48:ac21) d20+12=25 Monday November 21st, 2005 10:54:27 PM
Gilan watches helplessly as the forest starts to burn and he turns to those with magics. "We have to contain this fire...it will burn out of control." He wheels upon Airin and growls low in his throat. "I hope that you have something to help put out the flames...I have brothers and sisters in all the forests of the Wold...past, present and future." The stench does not really register with him as he is too busy wanting to stop the fire.
Ciaran whines by his legs as he watches the destruction of the trees. He is more scared of the fire than anything else at the moment. His tail is tucked between his legs and he looks about ready to bolt.

Kendry shouts back in draconic as he lets fly one (normal) arrow at one kobold, then another at a second. The first (AC 20) takes 7+3=10 hp damage; the second (AC 26) absorbs 8+6=14 points of damage from the piercing arrow.
He also listens (DC 30: nat 20!) to hear other things the kobolds may say in the draconic tongue.
[Note to DM et al: From here on out, likely for a couple of weeks, Inge (who also plays Airin) will be posting for Kendry, kind heart that she is. -Kim]
Bralin Ac 26 Hp 94/96 d20+14=32 Tuesday November 22nd, 2005 9:24:13 AM
Bralin ignores the small emanating from the pit. [Fort 32] The trap is turned, and the foe is in a panic. A very nice fight.
Bralin stops worrying about the grappling hook and reslings his backpack. He is not needed for this.
Airin and Erwen Tuesday November 22nd, 2005 9:27:47 AM
The screams of thousands of insects and little rodents hiding among the trees is agonising in Airin's head. Gilan's reaction is pretty much what she expected. Still in this case, the sacrifice mother nature makes will benefit the Wold in the future. Sacrifices must be made for a change to take place - no matter how painful.
The rolling sphere Airin summoned continues to whirl around and moves towards the trap itself stopping once it's in the middle of the trench. There the fire will consume the troglodites and any other surviving kobolds. Soon the stench of the troglodites will be overpowerd by the burning Kobold flesh...
The fire flickers in Airin's eyes and only the single tear that rolls down her cheek reveals the pain she feels from the burning forest.
"I can't controle this Gilan", Airin says with a stern voice, "All I can do is cast a create water spell to extinguish some of the fire. Maybe Domi and his students can quench the blaze."

Tishe kills two more kobolds with magic missles, while Kendry kills two with arrows.
Domi directs his students to attack the kobolds to the north, and they let fly with a barage of stones, 4 kobolds fall.
Airin directs her flame into the pit, where the screams of the monsters is mixed with the sizzle of burning skin. The odor has become horrible.
Airin mentions that she does not have means to put out the fire. Domi adds:
"The fire will not spread, though this stand of trees will be gone. New plants will grow. It is the way."
5 kobolds seek escape to the north, while three run to the southwest.

Peerimus furrows his nose at the fire, but he figures he can deal with that a bit later. There are kobolds to chase and nothing gets the blood pumping more that a good game of cat and mouse.
Peerimus is off and on top of the fleeing creatures in a few quick bounds, Shaylin right with him. The druid brings his staff hard at K26 [Hit AC 19 Dmg 6]. A blur of dark yellow and black tells the Druid Shaylin just passed.

The mystic looks impassively at the fire in the trees. "Trees to Fire, Fire to Glade, Glade to Trees. It is the Great Circle of Life, Gilan. And we are part of it. What if there were something more monstrous awaiting in the trees?" The short woman considers her words and speaks again. "Remember, this land is not like the plains; Fire will not burn completely out of control."
The kobolds are running and the group has other tapestries to weave. The mystic stows her wand, and prepares to continue.
Snout looks on with bored patience. Why did the small one burn the kobolds? Now they aren't fit to eat...
Nezamil d20+9=19 Wednesday November 23rd, 2005 12:28:39 AM
The dwarf stays his hand and stops shooting as the stench washes over him but just blinks quickly a few times to clear his head "By Domi that stinks "(d20+9=29 Fort ch)" lets just bypass the pit " growls Nezamil as he keeps an eye Peerimus and his lethal 4 footed friend as they pounce on the fleeing kobolds
Gilan(hp70/77: ac22)[wildshape:] Ciaran(hp48/48:ac21) Wednesday November 23rd, 2005 2:24:16 AM
Gilan shivers as he watches the fire burn. His eyes show hidden pain, deeper than the loss of the trees...in fact if you had to guess it is fear in his eyes. Involuntarily he takes a step back and seems to have broken out in a cold sweat. "Okay...." That is the only word that he can get to come out of his mouth as he shivers despite the warmth around them.
Ciaran looks up at his brother with a sort of what is wrong look and nuzzles is hand. When he gets no response he whines and then butts his head into Gilan's leg. Nothing seems to be working and Ciaran lays down on the ground.

FYI - Gilan has a phobia about large fires. He caused one on the Plains when he summoned some fire elementals and nearly burned himself in the results. His reactions are due to that experience more than anything right now. He is not working in the best frame of mind and not thinking straight. :)
Airin and Erwen Wednesday November 23rd, 2005 7:04:46 AM
Still a bit shaken from the blaze she started, but pleased from the effect it had, Airin gathers close to her friends.
The sphere of fire continues to ravage through the trench and travels all along it's length though it can not jump out of it anymore. Whatever creature is in there... is probably toast.
"The 5 kobolds that are escaping will probably only alert some even bigger force. Pff... more cannonfodder.", she thinks to herself and a wicked smile crosses her face.
"How far till we reach the Oshir House?" Airin asks to Domi and his students, "where do you think these Kobolds came from and who could have send them? They were quite organised."
Erwen is defintely not fond of the fire and when Airin joins with the rest erwen comes flying in and lands on Airin's arm once again. Slowly and gently Airin caresses the predator bird's head. Erwen gently picks in Airin's hand to show some affection.

"Good work, friends!" Kendry says as he catches sight of the runaway Kobolds.
Kendry fires two more arrows against a pair of fleeing kobolds (DM's choice as to which ones) - the first hits AC 19 for 8+10=18 damage; the second, on a second kobold, a critical hit for 8+8+9=25 damage (or 8+8+9+9=34 if a 2nd 2d6 vs fae applies on a crit).
"Shall we continue our counterattack, or let some escape?" he asks Domi.

Peerimus and Shaylin give chase, and each kill a kobold. Kendry kills two kobolds to the south. Domi's students attack with slings, and bring two more kobolds down. The one kobold who still lives runs into the trees to the south.
Bralin peers into the pit, and the dead kobold are impaled upon spikes, their flesh burnt. The troglodytes are gone. A small tunnel leads into the hill.
Domi directs his students to search the dead. They come back with a parchment with a map of Oshir house.
"So, I see that they have spies. The map of the battlements is accurate. He then notices a note written recently on the parchment. They attack tonight. We must hurry back to warn Alemi. It will take an hour to get there, if we hurry."
It is late morning.
OOC: Holiday break, official until Monday.
Airin and Erwen Thursday November 24th, 2005 8:53:34 AM
As the tunnel in the trench is revealed, Airin directs her fireball 30 ft down into the tunnel (the fireball lasts 5 rounds, so has 2 left). If someone's in there, they will probably get fried.
"One the one hand we need to run to the Oshir House and prepare for battle, but on the other hand, this tunnel might provide good intell or even allow us all to sneak into their camp? Would that be possible?", Airin speaks to the group.
If the group decides going towards the Oshir house is the best idea, Airin suggest to block the tunnel entrance. If no one goes in, no one comes out.
Kendry (Posted by Inge) Thursday November 24th, 2005 8:58:52 AM
Kendry agrees with Domi that a quick march towards the Oshir House will allow them all to prepare for battle tonight. Food, drink, and some needed rest will serve them best during the night to come.
Sombre thoughts are in his mind as he thinks of the coming battle.
Thoughts dwell towards a rhyme, but...
(Inge ooc: OH DRAT, I'M NO BARD MYSELF!!! SORRY KIM)
Podo Thursday November 24th, 2005 12:10:51 PM
Podo, seeing that the battle has been handled well by his friends and Domi and his students that there is no need for him to fight as well.
Podo agrees as well that it is best for us to force a quick march to Alemi and warn them as soon as possible. "The Gods only know what size that force will be!" says Podo quickly.
Podo will rearrange his pack looking for his sling and a pack of cold iron bullets & a small empty sack he will use for small sling quality stones he might find along the way. Once all his gear is rearranged and stored, Podo will store his staff on his pack.
"Er, Kendry, do you have any additional poitions of healing you can spare for your cousin? I'm still in need of some additional healing. Perhaps one of the other healers of our group could help me?" Podo asks of Kendry.

"If they attack tonight, all spellcasters are limited to the spells we have left after the fight in the temple. Save your spells!" the brown eyed woman says earnestly.
"And the quicker we are at Oshirr House, the better I will feel. Let's Go!"
And with Snout in tow, the brown-haired woman marches in time with Domi and his students.
As they walk, she turns to Nezamil. "If Domi and Alemi and the like are not gods right now, who are the gods? They took over from somebody, didn't they? And if that is true, are there strange clerics that we will have to deal with?"

Peerimus and Shaylin Sunday November 27th, 2005 9:54:54 PM
The druid strides quickly to the group a look of slight disappointment on his face. "Watch the use of fire please." the druid seems to address the group as a whole. Looking towards the man calling himself Domi he adds, "Who else have the kobolds allied with? Because unless they are attacking by the hundreds, it hardly seems reason to be too concerned."
As the group moves, "I unfortunately have used a great deal of my spells already, but Shaylin and I will be ready tonight."
