The Tide is Turned

Ban Maeve  2d6(5+5)+6=16
Thursday March 16th, 2006 11:10:42 PM

His spell cast, the quiet wemic knocks his bow and taked dead aim on the displacer beast before him. His pulse slows, he exhales slowly, and then it is gone. The arrow slices through the vegetation, narrowly missing a low hanging branch, and drives itself deep into the chest area of one of the two cats [Critical Hit for 48 HP].

DM Bob & Carla
Thursday March 16th, 2006 11:11:31 PM

Zeoll rubs his reddened eye and bemoans his lost spell as the entangling vegetation slaps about his face in one last wave of activity before Wintergalde manages to dispel Brahmah's magic [Sorry...a nat 1 is a nat 1].

Toros takes a last desperate swipe at the beholder with his glaive, ignoring it's attempt to parlay. The weapon opens a gaping rent in the creatures body, and bits of it's digestive tract appear to spill out. The large central eye registers surprise at the notion of his own mortality... Two crossbow bolts slam into it as Flat-top unleashes a volley from his crossbow and a final death spasm rolls across the beholder's body as Brahmah's arrow penetrates from below. It drops to the forest floor. There are one or two more twitches from one of the eye stalks, and the last vestiges of life recede from it's large central eye.

The two displacer beasts sense the changing tide and bound away from the party and into the thick vegetation, but not before Ban Maeve's arrow, guided by Domi, sends the second of the two beasts to it's end...a direct shot through the heart.

Toros
Friday March 17th, 2006 12:45:46 AM

Toros nods to Gecktar with appreciation and search the surroundings for any other source of danger. Then the wemic approaches to his fallen opponent, and bends to see the beholder closely. With their apparent victory he will collect a totem for his bag later on. Then, everything would seem to be returning to normal, as if nothing has happened.

Flat-top (AC 22 71/96 HP)
Friday March 17th, 2006 4:55:57 AM

Flat-top Pick up his morning Star, clips his cross bow on his belt. Now he's dirty from the stuff from the Beholder, The center will go in his saddle bags for a cloth and mirror, to wipe this stuff from his body.

He start to wipe himself, then Yells at Toro "TORO! WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO ME! You not only made me a GIANT! BUT YOU also made my white spots GREEN! LOOK AT MY HAIR, MAIN AND TAIL?? ALL GREEN! NOW what do I do?? and how long will it last??"

OOC: Happy St. Pat's Day All.

Winterglade  2d8(4+7)+6=17 3d8(3+8+5)+6=22
Friday March 17th, 2006 5:10:01 AM

Winterglade takes one last glance at the fallen gauth. "Not a smartest thing it was. To open up a conversation with a barrage of spells?..."

"What about the phasecat? Is it good eating? Does anybody know?"

The centaur proceeds to administer healing to Brahmah [CMW over Restoration(L), heals 17 hp] and Flat-Top [CSW over MCvsE, heals 22 hp]. The wounds close up at the touch of his hand. "By the Right Hand of Brawler, you DO get in trouble a lot. Better play it safe for the rest of the day, though; Winterglade is running out of healing."

Then the centaur looks behind and a soft, wailing lament escapes his lips: "Oh nooo, my poor, mangled tail! It will take years to get it back in shape!"

Zeoll
Friday March 17th, 2006 6:22:58 AM

Zeoll walks over to Winterglade and expresses his gratitude. "Thank you for frreeing me, my frriend. I thought we werre gonerrs forr a moment. But you all did a grreat job while I was, um, tied up!"

"If I rrecall my magic item lorre corrrectly, I can use the skin of this monsterr to make a sweet cloak!" Zeoll skins the displacer beast for use in future crafting.

"As we walk on," says Zeoll, "let's please be sure to keep each otherr in sight. And also! If I am charrming or fascinating an enemy, please don't attack it if my charrm orr music is worrking!" The liontaur looks at Brahmah with a smile.

When Winterglade talks about using up his healing, Zeoll tells him that he is carrying two cure wands for the party. In fact, he offers one to Winterglade.

[OOC to Tunc Highlight to display spoiler: {I'm pretty sure that you can only take a totem if you kill the enemy ourself, with no one else doing damage?}]

Gecktar
Friday March 17th, 2006 4:15:00 PM

Gecktar is happy to see the beholder falling and then the displacer beasts getting away. Before he can asks the question, he sees that Winterglade has already healed almost every body.

"Good job Glade, and thank you for the healing. Maybe we should talk each other about the prayers we memorise each day to be complementary."

"And Zeoll, keep the eyestalk of the beholder, I'm pretty sure that they could be used too. Don't remember exactly the purpose now but I think this could be of some help."

"Glade, I'm not sure the beasts are very tasteful... I wil let you try if you want but be sure to have a mean to cure any diseases..." he adds with a smile.

Brahmah
Friday March 17th, 2006 4:37:29 PM

"Thanks Glade."

(Happy Saint Patrick's Day!!!!)

DM Bob & Carla
Sunday March 19th, 2006 11:52:14 PM

A surprised Flat-Top momentarily thinks his white spots have been turned green, but it turns out to be an effect of the sun filtered through the green canopy of the deciduous trees. In fact, the whole area is bathed in the eerie green light that is natural of the Culverwood. Winterglade heals the wounded, and is thanked by the captain, Brahmah. Zeoll and Toros inspect the fallen attackers and prepare to take souvenirs. Geckatar suggests retrieving an eye stalk from the Beholder while Ban Maeve looks on in shocked silence.

(OOC: Zeoll-skinning the beast will take 1 hour and a Skill check, please, to do so effectively. Toros-only wemics can collect totems, and only from enemy they kill in single handed combat.)

(OOC: Survival vs DC 15 to Highlight to display spoiler: {discover the trail and follow its winding route through the looming trees.}

Winterglade  d20+7=10
Monday March 20th, 2006 3:06:52 AM

[Survival 10]

Winterglade looks at the phasecat while Zeoll is skinning it. "BLECK! Forget about the meal. It's all bones and skin and joints. Also, Winterglade would never eat something that had a face, no."

"Gecktar, Winterglade does not kill or spill blood. The powers the Brawler sees fit to grant him are those of protection and healing. He usually keeps little something ready to cure both body and mind, dispel harmful magic, take care of poison, paralysis, and so on. You can take a more proactive approach to defense with your magic, if you like. Winterglade will take care of basic healing, but when the going gets rough his guess is we will both be busy doing that."

The centaur accepts the wand from Zeoll and admires it resting peacefully on the palm of his hand. "Such little thing, so much power. Should he ever run out of spells Winterglade will put it to good use."

[I will put it on my sheet as party property. What I am looking here at, Cayzle, and how many charges does it have left? BTW, do you want me to chip in on the party stash?]

Zeoll  d20+1=15 d20+5=23
Monday March 20th, 2006 6:53:09 AM

Zeoll does his best, his untrained best, but is that good enough? [OOC: Untrained Craft check is a 15, Untrained Survival check is a 23]

"Well, even if I make a botch of it," the liontaur says to himself (in wemic), "the pelt can still fetch a decent price, I bet, for spell component use!"

Zeoll is careful to save every little strip.

An important announcement!

Friends, for over a year now, the DMs of the Wold have been of the opinion that the Taur rules are too overpowered. Therefore, we are this week rolling out NEW RULES FOR TAURS!

I will post a link on this board tomorrow to the new rules.

The next time that your character levels, please use these new rules.

NOTE that implementing these rules also means that you have the opportunity to rewrite your skills, feats, and other choices that you have made for your character.

More on this to come soon.

Thanks!

Cayzle

Gecktar  d20+3=12
Monday March 20th, 2006 8:00:44 AM

"Right ! Glade, you will take care of the protection, I will try to enhance the party for the fights. And you're right. I think that both of us will have much work to do with healing."

(Survival 12)

"Anyone knows where to go now ?"

Brahmah (AC 25, Hps 78 of 93)
Monday March 20th, 2006 1:13:05 PM

"So, does anyone feel like something strange is going on? I feel... I don't know... different somehow." :)

Flat-top  d20+3=17
Monday March 20th, 2006 4:54:38 PM

Flat-top carefully come to the rest of the pack, "You! Brahmah! Feel Differant? Look at ME! A giant Centaur with A Giant Lointaur? If I don't get back to my normal size, I'm in trouble"

Then Flat-top turns to Toros, "Don't laugh! Your just as Tall as I am?"

Flat-top smiles and thinks it's pretty funny, imagin two taure their size trying to hide??, The centatu laught.

"My Dear Clericks can I Have a blessed Apple!" ask Flat-top.

Toros  d20=14
Monday March 20th, 2006 7:09:33 PM

The victorious Taur takes one tiny piece from the remainings of the beholder, as a memory if not a magical tattoo. This humble bard and cleric was even himself surprised how he became, when he enraged, and it will be good not to forget that.

Then he takes a look at the mirror that Flat-top has given them.

"Flat-top, now I understand how to use the mirror against the beholders, you look at them and clean afterwards..."

"And size is not a big problem but dont forget not to jump much, when you are enlarged, OK? Noone would want an earthquake at this time"

Toros spends the rest of his time to give a hand to anyone needs (Aid Another, 14>10, DC)

Ban Maeve  d20+6=20
Monday March 20th, 2006 8:34:52 PM

Ban Maeve turns from the sight of Zeoll at work. A token for the totem bag he would understand, but desecrating the corpse of a felidae, the wemic shudders.

Distancing himself from the party, he makes a reconnaissance of the area in hopes of regaining the trail out of the Culverwood and on to South Harbour. (Survival=20)

DM Bob & Carla
Monday March 20th, 2006 9:00:16 PM

The party breaks for an hour to permit Zeoll the time necessary to perform the grizzly task of skinning the displacer beast. He manages to do a fair job of separating the blue-black pelt from the carcass, but is unable to salvage the tentacles growing from the creature's shoulders. Toros continues to poke at the beholder.

Gecktar and Winterglade use the time to discuss strategy and how each might use their magical strengths to the benefit of the party. The minotaur volunteers to cast protective and combat oriented magics while the centaur confesses his preference for the nurturing of life.

Ban Maeve and Flat-Top (OOC: was the 17 Flat-Top's Survival roll? If so, Flat-Top has a +4, not +3) locate the trail through the woods, and advise the others. Zeoll confirms the party's orientation. The quality of the light in the forest signifies that the day is more than half spent. The party has several hours yet before it will be time to make camp.

Brahmah senses the airs of change. Things will not be as they used to be, that is for sure!

(OOC: As Cayzle has noted, the rules as they apply to taurs have been changed by the PsTB. Experience points, etc. will be awarded at the end of this module, and folks will have the opportunity of revamping their PCs and performing surgery as required. A trip to the Catacombs (or equipment adjustments) will be possible at that time as well.-DM Carla)

Well, folks, Jan asked for another day to look over the new Taur Rules. I hope to post them tomorrow.

Brahmah
Tuesday March 21st, 2006 1:17:59 AM

He rests for the hour. The ranger tries to remember the spells he has prepared.

Gecktar
Tuesday March 21st, 2006 3:13:19 AM

Gecktar smiles at the discussion between Flat Top and Toros about the size they still have. Should the Chosen have to be discreet, they would be in trouble. But for now it's time to go...

"We should go on and put as many miles as possible between us and this area. I still fear a bad action from Vargas' guys."

Winterglade
Tuesday March 21st, 2006 3:51:17 AM

"Come, Flat-top. Is it not wise to enjoy a change of perspective every now and then?" Winterglade dismisses the enlarging enhancement on the centaur.

"Blessed apples? Sure, let us share. Winterglade provides blesses, you provide apples."

Looking at the rays of sun shining through the canopy of the forest, Winterglade notices that the day is coming to an end. "Time sure flies when you are having fun. But Winterglade agrees, let us move on and find a spot for camp that can't be easily approached."

Flat-top
Tuesday March 21st, 2006 7:44:25 AM

Flat-top Tell Toros "With Friend like you, Toros. We cannot be lose. Now! since we are this SIZE! let's look for the Path?". Flat-top looks around, and sure enough there is the the path.

"LOOK! OVER THERE THERE'S THE Path??" Flat-top said as he scrinks down to his normal size, "Now that was worth the adventure!"

Flat-top goes into his bag of holding, come up with about ten apples, "Glade! How many do you want?" said Flat-top with a silly smile on his face.

Toros
Tuesday March 21st, 2006 8:15:53 AM

"Yeah, lets find and follow the path so that we do not lose each other again." Toros confirms Flat-top, and comments on other topics...

"Gecktar knows this already, but, let me remind to you, Glade, I also have some cleric power; although not as powerful as yours, hope it can be of some help, too. At least I also have healing wand to use, just in case... By the way, Ban, that last arrow you shot was incredible, indeed well-done! The Chosen have become much stronger since you and Glade came, thanks to Domi!!"

Ban Maeve  d20+7=12 d20+6=11 d20+7=13
Tuesday March 21st, 2006 10:29:04 PM

Solemnly Ban Maeve takes up the trail. He pauses momentarily, then turns to Brahmah and asks, "woult you like me to scout the way?"

If given the 'okay' by the captain of the Chosen, Ban Maeve pad carefully down the path, keeping ahead of the party by several feet and glancing back from time to time to see that the rest follow his lead.

DM Bob and Carla
Tuesday March 21st, 2006 11:28:21 PM

Brahmah conserves his energy while Zeoll strips the last bits of cat-flesh from the displacer beast's hide then packs it away for future use. Ban Maeve scouts ahead of the group until the air cools further and the green light of the forest deepens to darkest shadow. Gecktar, ever suspicious that the group might be followed presses the others to keep a steady pace. Toros volunteers his healing skills as back up to Wintergalde while Flat-Top shares the apples he bought several days previous from the half-elf maid, Lucy Armson, at Pullman's Crossing.

That night, the party makes camp in a small clearing at the center of which lies a very small, but very clear spring. A light crust of ice clings to the edge of the source. Remembering what they were told by the satyrs', the Chosen of Domi keep their camp fire small, and use only dead wood as fuel. The energy expended in combat, and the unfamiliar cold of the Culverwood conspires to fatigue the taurs, and each is glad when his turn at watch is over, and it is time to catch much needed sleep.

+++++

Three days pass as the group makes their way through the eerie forest, Ban Maeve leading the way with Gecktar ensuring none stray from the path. Flat-Top jests with his friends, and Winterglade is not above participating in the witty repartee. Zeoll contemplates the unfinished cloak in his pack and hopes there will be time to work on it once the party reaches South Harbour. Toros keeps an eye on the backtrail, and lends a strong hand to any who need it. With a depth of feeling that seems to come from his bones Brahmah senses change, and wonders what it means to him and the party he leads.

By mid-day on the third day the party quits the forest, as the path merges with a well worn double track through the meadow lands. The air carries the tang of salt confirming that the Lotophagi Ocean is somewhere off to the party's right, beyond their view. Night falls and the weary party crests a ridge. Off in the distance are the twinkling lights of the small coastal town known as South Harbour.

[OOC: Darn it! Missed a post! Sorry friends!]

Zeoll enjoys the walk in the forest. He looks forward to the day that he can talk with the plants and trees of places like this.

But he knows that soon the group will be at sea, heading for home. That makes him glad.

As the group comes back to South Harbor, Zeoll looks forward to meeting his young friend, Tash. He hopes she is well, and wonders what news she will have.

As the group comes up to the city, and then enters, Zeoll keeps his ears open for gossip, news and rumor. If he hears anything interesting, he engages folk in conversation.

Brahmah
Wednesday March 22nd, 2006 2:44:21 AM

Brahmah takes comfort in the salt air. He takes in a lung full. "Ah..."

Winterglade
Wednesday March 22nd, 2006 8:00:44 AM

Winterglade's reaction to the smell of sea is quite the opposite of Brahmah's.

"Winterglade smells boats. He is not happy, no. Traveling over water is not natural. If Brawler wanted us to cross oceans we would have fins."

The centaur walks at the end of the party, his head hanging down, as if he was trying to postpone boarding the ship for as long as possible.

Flat-top
Wednesday March 22nd, 2006 8:54:56 AM

Flat-top exits the wood and the smell of salt in the air "Ahh! To see the beautiful Sea ahain! Hey I made a rhymee??" He suprises him self on how talented he is.

But he see brother Winterglade, he look down hearted. Flat-top remember that his new friend has the same sea-sickness that Kanisha had. Then he rembers what she use to take for for her upset stomack.

"Brother Winterglade! I know that you have a problem with sailing. Our Green Witch Kanisha has the same feeling, but she carried some sea weed that tasted like mint! It made the trips over the sea a little more pleasent, I'll go with you to a wizard in training with you and we'll get some for you." Smiles Flat-top.

He also remembers the times before discovering the sea weed remerdy, how Kanisha was cluching the railing of the ship, Up chucking all the way to dry land. He He! then tell himself that it was NOt funny... But then laugh again any way.

Gecktar
Wednesday March 22nd, 2006 3:57:45 PM

Gecktar seeing the despair of Winterglade come close to him putting a hand on his shoulder. "Courage friend, Domi will give you the strength to endure that..."

He follows the group happy for a while to be in a public area but is mood soon return to suspicion as Vargas would not avoid a conflict here in the city even if innocent people would suffer from it.

Toros
Wednesday March 22nd, 2006 9:54:07 PM

Toros takes a loooong breath from his lung in front of this breathtaking view. The sailor in his blood is in action, although the bard one seems to be in silence. He envies Flat-top.

"Waooww, Flat-top, you have great potential to be a bard, dont you think about that? Then we can write poems together, all we need is a couple of green-gnomish and of course Zeoll..."

DM Bob and Carla
Thursday March 23rd, 2006 12:15:29 AM

The party makes their way down the knoll enjoying the milder climate, the result of warmer air carried by the coastal air masses. The excitement is contagious. When the newest member of the party confesses his dislike of travel by boat, the others are quick to offer encouragement and advice. By the time the party reaches the town, it is dark. Homes are locked up for the night, though light glows from hearths and candles behind the wavy panes of old glass. Shops and other places of business are closed for the day. A single lantern lights the empty temple of Domi.

Familiar with the twisting narrow streets and alleyways the party is able to locate their regular haunt. The place looks like it has been spruced up a bit. The previously weather beaten planks of grey have been newly white-washed. A cauldron filled with earth and planted with some red flowers sits next to the door. A new carved and brightly painted sign depicting a circle with the cardinal points, and many pointed 'petals' rayed all around hangs over the door. Picked out in gold letters is the name, The Wind Rose.

Across the street from the inn, the long wooden pier disappears into darkness. The silhouettes of half a dozen boats can be seen bobbing on the inky water, a string of lights here, a lantern there, the only thing to mark their place.

A flash of light, as the double doors of The Wind Rose burst open and a lone figure lurches out. (Spot vs DC 12 Highlight to display spoiler: { you see a six-foot tall female with coarse black hair pulled back in a ponytail and a muscular, athletic frame who seems to be 'helping' the man exit.)} "You dun'no a good an' a loyal cushhtohmer if'n he pinched yer boney arse, you ole sea hag!" he slurs insultingly as he lurches towards the nearest alley.

"Yes Gecktar, Winterglade knows the Smith will give him endurance. He would only hope he adds in a way to get rid of the aftertaste of the trip."

[Spot 9]

"Ooh, an inn. Winterglade likes inns. Have you ever seen a barbrawl started in less than a small hourglass?"

Alarmed by the Captain's comment on the condition of ships, Winterglade strains his eyes [Sense Motive 15]. "Why?" He asks with a mix of confusion and worry. "Look quite sturdy to Winterglade's eyes, at least for a short journey. Or does the voyage to Taur Islands include a free trip round the Yrth?"

Flat-top's gate is slow enought to keep up with the group, looking at the port and all the ships thethed there, make his heart beat just a little faster.

He notices that every thing is in lock down, except the Temple and the Tavern, "OOp! This place has change hands? It looks very girlie girlie, don't you think? But if they serve Flaming Green Ghomish ...."

Flat-top has not finish his speaking when the door opens and a beautiful Female throws out a drunken bum. Flat-top hold his arms up, telling the black haired beauty "Honey! We're Home! One Flaming Green Ghomish for everybody!"

Friday March 24th, 2006 7:51:57 PM

Brahmah tries to see the vessels floating on the inky dark water, but the shapes are hard to make out. He knows their number (or thinks he does) by counting the ones with lights. No one will know the number, or if the Gossamer Wing is numbered among them, until the morning. Winterglade senses the leader of the Chosen is just trying to un-nerve him.

Zeoll leads the way into the Wind Rose. Those who have been there before recognize the interior. It is little changed. The tables and chairs a little more neatly arranged, the stale smell of ale not quite so strong, some of the booths along the walls have red curtains that can be drawn closed. There are maybe a dozen partrons nursing their drinks and talking in low voices. Gecktar, Toros, Ban Maeve and the rest pile into the large common room. Flat-Top tries charm on the big woman who stands by the door, hands on hips as the party enters.

"Kitchen's closed this hour of night," she says, eyeing the taurs warily, "s'pose I could find somethin' if ya don't mind that it's cold?" Inclining her head toward the bar, she adds, "Jacob here, can get ya somethin' to slake your thirst easily enough." A middle aged man with thinning hair peers 'round a stack of barrels. "What will it be lads!" he asks as he sets up half a dozen super-sized tankards on the counter. Leaning forward on the counter, he lowers his voice, "you folk wouldn't go by the name of Domi's Chosen now, would ye?"

(OOC: The new and official taur rules are supposed to be posted on this site sometime this weekend. Take a good week to get your PC sheet up to date, and do your shopping. Regular posting should continue since there is much to learn!-DM Bob and Carla)

Zeoll thanks the woman kindly and says cold meat is better than no meat! He tells the old man that the group is in fact one of several groups of Domi's Chosen. What can Zeoll do for him? He is at the man's service.

Winterglade
Saturday March 25th, 2006 7:33:44 AM

The centaur enters the inn and looks around. "Why the two-legs choose to spend their miserable lives hidden from sun and wind and rain Winterglade will never understand..."

When a meal is offered he just shakes his head. "No thank you. Winterglade only eats for pleasure. Excuse my Stoneheaver's Folly, but more likely than not you will not have anything to cater to my needs."

Flat-top
Saturday March 25th, 2006 8:41:08 AM

Smiling at the Lady, "I eat meat only when I'm froce to! Anice big salad will do fine and a nice slice of cold apple pie for desert. Ahhh! now off to to the liquid mugs for me!!"

Flat-top bellies up to the bar, (and that is hard to do for a Centaur?)"A Yes, my man Jacob, Flat-top whispers back, "we are the Chosens? Why do you have trouble here?" but the speaking louder. Green Gnomishes for every taur here!" The center places six gold peices on the bar.

While waiting for their drinks, Flat-top will look around the common room to see if the Captain of the Gossamer Wind or her first mate is in port, They would be here if they were.

ACDM Cayzle - New Rules for Taur PCs
Sunday March 26th, 2006 1:43:46 PM

Executive Summary -- Changing your Taur to the New Rules

Introduction: The new rules for Taurs have been officially approved. Please check them out here:

Rules for Taur PCs
Minotaurs
Centaurs
Liontaurs

It is true that the new rules make Taurs weaker than they were. A big reason for the new rules is that DMs thought that the earlier rules were overpowered. I know that it sucks to be told to weaken your character. I hope that no one will be too upset, but if you want to complain or just ask me why a change was made, please write to me at cayzle@cayzle.com.

Please use these new rules in updating your character sheets. For your reference, here is a list of what has changed.

ALL TAURS

The old Taur racial feats are gone:
- OLD: Taur Weapon Use was required before some liontaurs could use manufactured weapons.
- NEW: All taurs can use weapons just like any other PC.
- OLD: Taur MultiAttack and Improved Taur Multiattack were required to fight with both manufactured weapons and natural attacks in a full round attack.
- NEW: We use the standard rules for attacking with weapons and natural attacks, and Taurs can take the core Multiattack feat from the Monster Manual.
- NEW: There are three new Taur feats, one per race, which affect charging.

Size, Weight, Age
- OLD: Official guidelines were vague.
- NEW: Age, weight, and length/height tables have been added to the rules. You can roll for height or weight OR pick values in the allowed range.
- NEW: Taurs are a bit smaller than Monster Manual equivalents, and they live shorter lives than humans.

Totem Bags
- OLD: Liontaur priests of Domi could wear totem bags and use them.
- NEW: Any minotaur, centaur, or liontaur druid, cleric, or witch of Domi can use a totem bag. It gives bonuses against foes you defeat single handed, it is a holy symbol, and if you put a magic amulet in it, the amulet functions as if it were worn.
- NEW: Liontaurs who already have Totem bags can keep them. Others have to find theirs, make theirs, or (most likely) buy theirs in the Catacombs.

Sorry everybody! Those links were bad at first ... but I have fixed them all now.

DM Bob and Carla
Sunday March 26th, 2006 9:33:37 PM

The lantern light of the common room reveals the hostess to be a half-orc past her middle years. She returns with a platter of cut up raw vegetables and some cheeses carefully balanced on one hand, and a basket with some breads in the other. "I was fixin' to use these in tomorrow's stew, but I can go to market and get more in the mornin'." She scoops Flat-Top's 6 goldpieces off the bar. "This will cover the food and a bottomless mug for the night! Look after these folks, Jacob. I'll be in the kitchen."

When she is gone, Jacob fills up the mugs. The piebald centaur gets his wish, and a mug filled with a violent green drink is set before him. Green Gnomish is served to any who desire it, however Jacob will wait to learn preferences. (Flat-Top and any who drink the Gnomish Highlight to display spoiler: { Fort. DC 18 to feel pleasantly inebriated, fail by 5 nausea, fail by 6 or more faint/pass out, roll a natural 1, get obnoxiously drunk, projectile vomit, then faint!}

Jacob leans on the bar and lowers his voice as he confides to Zeoll and the rest of the party, "Chosen of Domi. Yup, that's what he said. Queer little fella'. Come 'bout as high as my waist. Looked a little like you," Jacob says pointing at Brahmah, "but with little, itty, bitty horns, an' a funny beard. Come by 'bout three days ago. Said for me to tell you to stay put, he'd be back soon enough."

Zeoll
Sunday March 26th, 2006 10:48:46 PM

The liontaur is pleased at this news, and says so to the innkeeper. "The gentleman you rreferr to is a good frriend to us. Thank you forr letting us know. Do you have rroom enough forr all of us to stay herre forr a few days, then?"

Zeoll tries the cheeses and steers clear of the raw veggies.

If Gecktar can help out with casting Eagle's Splendor, Zeoll plans to work on his cloak for a day or three.

Flat-top  d20+10=26
Monday March 27th, 2006 2:56:03 AM

OOC: DM - Flat-top was a Royal Marine in his service of the Centors Island, He's a good sailor and a fighter. He is use to Green Gnomish, But loves to introduce the drink to new new commers like Ban and Winterglade. Nasty Yes! but what do you want from a Centaur??

Flat-top takes four big mugs (Two in each hand), and clops over to Brahmah "Here Captain! have a small drink on me!"
Flat-top then goes over to Ban and Winterglade, puting the gnomishs in frount of the two newer members of the children, Then to the rest of the Party (Gectar,Toros and Zeol) he ask them "I didn't know if you Taurs wanted Gnomishes or Ale? What would you like? and I'll get it for you?"

After a few sips of his drink, the owner put food in frount of the Children of Domi, Flat-top then replies "Thank you, Boy! Are you beautiful, came You Dance?"

Save 26,
(Remember Flat-top is a sailor and a fighter in Port!!)

Gecktar  d20+9=23
Monday March 27th, 2006 5:04:31 AM

Gecktar nods to Zeoll when he asks for some help in the magic item creation : "I will provide you the spell you need for the next days. Just ask and you'll get it."

Sitting aroud the table he asks Flat-Top : "do you feet never tired ? You cannot seat and always walk around the world. Now you ca take some rest you want to dance... Flat-Top you can be called the tireless ! And yes get some Gnomish ale for me too. I will be glad to drink with you happy Centaur..."

The mood of the cleric seems to have evolved. He seems now happy among his fellows travellers and friends.

He takes a sip of the drink find it to his taste and continues to drink. (Save 23)

Winterglade  d20+9=21 d20+1=21
Monday March 27th, 2006 5:25:51 AM

Winterglade takes the mug, sniffs, and casts a suspicious glance at Flat-top. "Ere, what's this? It looks and smells like the ointment Old Rockwarren uses to treat his bad knees. Is it any good?"

The centaur takes a cautious swig from the cup, coughs, takes another swig, belches, and finally empties the mug with one, daring move.

- Glug glug glug - [Fort save 21]

"Ehhh, thish ish strong stuff, Winterglade's hneverr had anytzing likeit, nossir." The centaur's moves become a bit uncoordinated. His legs start to slowly spread in all four directions.

"Had our drinks, howzabout a shong? Yea, Winterglade knows one!"

Soon, the inn is filled with Winterglade's singing. Getting instantly drunk somehow did wonders to his voice and changed it into an untrained, but strong baritone [Perform 21].

"ZERE LIVED A YOUNG FILLY NAMED DOVE
A YOUNGZES WINDWALKER ON PLAIN
ZAT DID NOT KNOW WHATZ IZ LOVE
'TILL GLADE SHAID: I'LL EXPLAIN
HE CHASHED THE SHYZ LITTLE MISS
AND CAUGHTZ HER, FOR SHPEED SHE LACKED
AND INTRODUCED HER TO BLISH
AND HAD HER THOROUGHLY KISHED!"

The song goes on and on, every next verse more graphic than the last, and with every verse Winterglade's bobbing head gets closer to the floor.

Zeoll
Monday March 27th, 2006 6:42:27 AM

The liontaur figures someone should keep a clear head, so he sticks to water. He thanks Gecktar gratefully and smiles at his friends taking their well-earned relaxation. He laughs at Winterglade and tells him he didn't know the group had a third bard!

Flat-top [Part Two]
Monday March 27th, 2006 8:26:46 AM

Flat-top goes for the green Gnomisk, on his way back he sees Winterglade chug the drink, "Don't Drink ... that fast." Too late for his friend Winterglade.

Flat-top goes for a Taur seat, then put's it at the table. Listening to Winterglade song. Flat-top thinks to himself 'My new friend has a beautiful voice, and I'm glad that I don't have to teach him everything in life!'
As he help winter glade into the taur size seat, putting his head on his arms fast asleep.

To gectar he replise, "Well I have learned that sleeping on ones hooves, a centaur can breath better. You'll will find tha a center that is laying down is either, sick or dead.
As a colt I was a little bite Hyper and on the go all the time. The Royal Marines taugh be how to stand still when I have too.
But if you ask me, Well a moving target is hard to hit..."

Brahmah
Monday March 27th, 2006 10:23:45 AM

Brahmah sits back and listens, waiting for anything to happen.

He looks for the Gossamer Wing's crew.

Toros  d20=11
Monday March 27th, 2006 7:22:21 PM

Toros enjoys the drinking as usual, getting good enough drunk (11+ 7 - 10 bonus, depending on the new character). He likes the song of Glade very much that the drunk bard tries to learn the words and convince Glade to sing together, again and again.

Ban Maeve
Monday March 27th, 2006 8:05:59 PM

The wemic nurses an ale. Not for him strange sickly green drinks! Cutting a small piece of cheese Ban Maeve smiles his yellow grin at Zeoll, "I hope there is fish on the breakfast menu!" The ranger is quieter than usual, but he can not help but nod his head in time to the music of Winterglade, and slap his thigh and roar when Flat-Top starts to dance.

DM Bob & Carla
Monday March 27th, 2006 8:44:06 PM

Nursing their drinks, or eschewing alcohol completely Ban Maeve, Zeoll, and Brahmah keep an eye on their more rambunctious friends as Flat-Top, Gecktar, Winterglade, and Toros let off a little steam. Jacob declines Flat-Top's invitation, but the new proprietress of the Wind Rose takes a turn on the dance floor with the nimble centaur. The pie-bald fighter learns the half-orc's name is Isabella Requin, and she is a distant cousin of the Requin family of Dirt City.

The patrons of the inn warm to the taurs' enthusiasm, and after Winterglade's song, and Flat-Tops display, the group is plied with rounds of drinks and requests for more songs and stories. Captain Brahmah watches all night, but either the red-headed captain nor the crew of the Gossamer
Wing
make their appearance.

Zeoll enquires after a room, and the party is shown the same large low room at the back of the inn. "So's your friends don't have to take the stairs," he says looking knowingly at the wobbly hoofed ones. "You can have it as long as ye like. Room and breakfast 1 GP each per day."

Before falling asleep, Gecktar promises to help Zeoll with his cloak.

++++++++

On waking the diverse taurs make their way into the common room. Those who imbibed Gnomish for the first time experience the worst hangover of their lives. Even Flat-Top isn't spared a roiling stomach and headache. Sitting at one end of the largest table in the room is a little figure in a green cutaway coat and plum colored vest. His furry legs end in cloven hoofs, and dangle from the chair like a child's. Grith looks up from his bowl of oats, and his wise and benevolent face creases as he smiles. "I see you have survived the Culverwood as I thought you might," then more cryptically he adds, "did you find what you were seeking?"

Zeoll
Monday March 27th, 2006 10:09:59 PM

Last night: Zeoll gets ready for bed, and finds his thoughts turning to his future. He feels drawn to mysteries he does not understand. He remembers the dream he had long ago, in which Tomi called him away from his home island. He remembers other dreams, most recently, of the Fae King and of Queen Maab, and before that, the deep sleep of death and his afterlife in the Lands of Rest. These are the thoughts in his head as he falls asleep.

Morning: On rising, Zeoll is silent and thoughtful. If anyone asks, says that he had a peaceful night, but his dreams were strange.

When he sees Master Grith, he smiles. He answers the Goat-taur's question gladly. "Yes, elderr frriend, we did succeed -- with cerrtainty and clearr signs that all is well. Now we head forr home, as soon as we can find a ship."

Zeoll mentions that the group was guided in the Culverwood by two fauns. He wonders if they are kin to Taurs, or to Grith himself.

Finally, he asks for a private moment with the party's wise mentor. He tells last night's dream to Master Grith in a whisper. He asks him what he thinks.

Winterglade  d20+1=6
Tuesday March 28th, 2006 8:25:41 AM

Early in the morning Winterglade returns from his spell run, his mane wet from rain.

"A hundred thousand and one wraiths of Koshe-Marr have been howling in Winterglade's head all night. Last time I take a drink from that bald-headed joker, that's for sure."

When he sees Zeoll talking to Grith he nudges the nearest party member.

"Ere, who's the bariaur? Winterglade has heard of them, but he has never seen one before."

"Looks like we drop an anchor here for a bit, no, Captain? Just as well, just as well... Winterglade has been studying that magic stick from Zeoll. He would like to try to make one himself. But first, it is time to get rid of the Journye. Winterglade would like to repay Gecktar what he owes. Besides, with all the books in them my saddlebags have given sores to my back."

Winterglade goes off in search of somebody he can unload the Journye on [Gather Info 6].

[Cayzle, what are the stats of that wand my PC carries? Might be important later on if we are in a fight.]

Flat-top
Tuesday March 28th, 2006 8:30:38 AM

After the dance (witch he enjoyed very much), tell his dancing beautiful partner, "I have not drank Green Gnomishes fur a long time. It is starting to hit me like as if I was a colt and drinking this drink for the first time! So I say to you My beautiful Lady Good-Night." Flat-top kisses her hand.

The Centaur goes over to the Leader Brahmah, "Have you seen the Captain or her crew, I could not make out if their ship was in Dock! I'll take Winterglade with me to bed, I'll see you in the morning. Good-night!"

Flat-top pick up Winterglade, with one of his arm around Flat-top's neck, the the fighter hold on to Winterglade's waist or better his belt. "Oh! your hoves are made of rubber and you breath is fowl! We will pay for this party in the morning!" Off the two goes to bed!

As for the morning Well that's another story to be told next time.

Brahmah
Tuesday March 28th, 2006 10:57:36 AM

Brahmah looks at Flat-top. "Nah, no ladies from the Wing. Disappointing too. Wanted to say hello."

After a little while, the Captain goes walking on the docks. He is careful not to be ambushed like the last time he was walking at night by himself so many years back.

He looks around for a ship resembling the Gossemar Wing.

Early in the morning he returns, pays the gold for a room and retires.

In the morning he prepares his spells in haste, other stuff clouding his mind.

Gecktar
Tuesday March 28th, 2006 3:03:45 PM

Gecktar seems relieved of the anxiety of the past days. During the meal he chat with his friends and laugh at their jokes.

When Glade begin to sing he accompanies him claping in his hands.

But the arsh travel takes is toll and Gecktar feels suddenly tired. He soon goes to bed and try to rest as much as possible.

Early in the morning he wake up to try to find a tempple in the town or maybe a shrine and pray more than one hour.

He returns to the inn and then sees Zeoll chatting with Master Girth.

"Hello all, had a good night ? My head seems to have endured a dwarf charge against a giant..."

"Flat-Top, please, remember me to not take this gnomish ale the next time..."

(OOC to all Chosen : Gecktar has paid the auction for the map with his money. If we are seven Chosen the cost for each Chosen would be 2142 gp. So please remember to get back his money to Gecktar before going to the Catacombs. Thanks for him :)

Toros
Tuesday March 28th, 2006 8:47:52 PM

OOC: Winterglade, for the wand, I think it will be good to consider that the wand is at its halflife, perhaps approximately 25 charges left, if Cayzle and DM also would agree... What is the level of the bonus healing, I am also not sure...

Nothing to mention much about what Toros does really. As usual; relax, eat, drink and sleep... at least, at this moment.

Zeoll
Tuesday March 28th, 2006 10:33:40 PM

Zeoll gives Glade two wands: A Wand of Cure Light Wounds (46 charges) and a Wand of Cure Moderate Wounds (17 charges).

[OOC: Marcin, House rules in the Wold have replaced Craft Wand with Craft Item, a feat that gives the benefit of all PHB item creation feats except Scribe Scroll and Brew Potion. See the House Rules in the Constabulary.]

Zeoll says to Gecktar, "Do not worry, my frriend! I rrememberr yourr grreat sacrrifice forr ourr grroup. Would you rratherr have a magic item I could make forr you?" [OOC: Zeoll would be glad to make an item worth up to 4,000 gp for Gecktar.]

[OOC to Ceil and everybody -- anyone who wants help in translating their PCs to the new rules, I would be glad to help with PC sheets, if that's okay with Carla and Bob!]

(OOC: This is okay with me. Ceil, we'll help you out.-DM Carla)

DM Bob & Carla
Wednesday March 29th, 2006 12:32:27 AM

Zeoll's sleep is disturbed with strange dreams, and yet the taur can not see the images clearly. It is as if a gossamer curtain shields the actors from his view. "Here. Let me help," breathes in his ear. It is a woman's voice. A hand reaches out to lift the curtain, and then Zeoll is awake.

A vigourous run in the morning air clears Winterglade's head of the cobwebs spun by the Gnomish. His hands itch to work, but not with weapons. The centaur feels compelled to create something of beauty and wonder, but what? With what?

Gecktar , Toros, and Ban Maeve are already seated at the table and tucking into breakfast served by the half-orc, Isabella. She takes orders, and returns to the kitchen as the taurs group around the diminutive Master. "I am so happy to learn your quest was successful. It is of paramount importance that the Black Sword does not fall into the wrong hands. It would be a tool of infinite destruction in the hands of one with a dark heart, and I worry that its magic might draw many to his side if he was to possess it." Scratching pensively behind one short horn, Master Grith admits, "I would like to see the map, if I could?" Just them Winterglade mentions his desire to dispatch with his large collection of books. "Is this the Journye to the Moones by Lord Karlton Pobberington-Whyte! All 17 volumes!" A dreamy look passes over the little taur's ancient face and he continues, "I once had the honour of perusing an early edition at the Royal Library in Plateau City. The waiting list to sign out Volume 5 was 18 months!"

++++++

Later in the morning, Brahmah explores the dock and checks out the boats anchored in the little bay. The Captain notices that the water is eerily calm and the sails of the ships dotting the bay hang limply in the still air. Returning to the street that runs along the quayside he joins Flat-Top. Both take notice that the Gossamer Wing is not amongst the ships in the bay. Coming towards the two is the elven leader of the group the party had met at the auction, and her companion in the fine armour. There is another with them and Brahmah can make out the pin signifying he is from the Wolidan League of Adventurer's, only his is a different colour.

Flat-top
Wednesday March 29th, 2006 7:47:50 AM

The centaur follows Captain to the dock, Flat-top does not like the weather, too calm almost death man's float??. "Well! Captain. The girls are not dock here. Do you see any ship that's we can buy??" ask the centaur.

"Oh! Look Captain, here come the elves, you know the one's from the WLA! Hello there. I'm glad to see you." Flat-top will shake their hands in greeting.

Winterglade
Wednesday March 29th, 2006 8:22:33 AM

Winterglade, his head fresh and finally unclouded by the infamous Gnomish, decides to spend the rest of the nights in port in the inn's backyard under clear sky, just like his people are accustomed to.

When Girth mentions his interest in the Journye, the centaur spreads his arms and says with disarming honesty: "Winterglade bought it, quite accidentally really, at an auction. He paid for it two thousand gold with Gecktar's money. He would like to repay the debt, so if you can settle it the books are yours. If they are worth more than what I paid I am sure Gecktar can put every coin to good use."

The centaur spends the rest of the day thoughtfully turning in his hands the wands borrowed from Zeoll. Eventually Winterglade takes his dagger and a small, plain looking stick of expensive wood out of his saddlebags. As he starts carving runes on the surface of the baton an intense aroma of cedar rises to the air.

Late in the evening there is a shout of triumph from the inn's backyard and Winterglade, very pleased with himself, enters the main chamber holding a brand new wand in his hands. The intricate pattern of runes on it is still glowing with faint blue light.

"It takes forever and a day to make one of those, but Winterglade is sure that with practice he will get better at it."

[Crafted Wand of Cure Light Wounds CL1, used up 375 gp worth of components and 30 XP]

[Thanks for the tip about Craft Item, Cayzle. This is great news! BTW, party's wands CLs are 1 and 3, right?]

Brahmah
Wednesday March 29th, 2006 12:35:20 PM

"I'll get you your money, when I can Gecktar." Says the Captain. "Though, right now, I have to look into paying off some debts and join the League."

The minotaur walks along the quayside just taking in the scent of the ocean that is calling to him. He sees the WLA members and moves toward them. "Hello there." He introduces himself to the stranger with the elves. "I'm Brahmah, Captain of the Chosen of Domi. I was looking at joining your fine League.

I had some concerns though. Would the Chosen's holy mission be hindered by me or others from our group joining up?"

"I could pay you today I believe."

Gecktar
Wednesday March 29th, 2006 4:30:03 PM

Gecktar never fears that the Chosen let their debt unpaid. He goes down town to see if there is something interesting to buy.

Zeoll
Wednesday March 29th, 2006 6:08:45 PM

Zeoll ponders the dream, but decides to spend the day in more practical matters. With good Gecktar's momentary help during the day at some point, he works on his magic cloak.

At Glade's cry of triumph, Zeoll laughs. "Don't tell me about a yearr and a day, my impatient new frriend! I've been working on my cloak for ages!"

[OOC: Zeoll is upgrading a +2 cloak of Chr to +6. It takes 32 days, and this is Zeoll's 16th day of labor on it!]

[The party cure wands are at 1st and 3rd, yup.]

Zeoll restates his offer to make Gecktar a magic item.

Toros
Wednesday March 29th, 2006 7:27:37 PM

After the breakfast and talk with Master Grith, Toros greets the elf from the WLA. Later, he congratulates Glade for his handmade wand, and tries to motivate Zeoll for his work on the cloak of charisma. "I am sure it will be a great masterpiece Zeoll, and look forward to seeing it, when it is done.., good luck with that..."

Toros also does not forget Gecktar's great, responsible action for their cause at the auction, and start thinking ways to pay his debt to him as soon as possible.

DM Bob and Carla
Wednesday March 29th, 2006 11:20:05 PM

"Might I examine them?" Master Grith asks Winterglade, clearly distracted from the serious topics of the map and the Black Sword. "I do not know the value of the books, but I could at least advance you the exact amount that you laid out for them."

Gecktar calls in his debts, as he prepares to do some shopping and the party soon breaks up into smaller groups as each go their own way.

Flat-Top and Brahmah encounter two of the adventurers from the group they met at the auction. Gilia, introduces the taurs to the tall slender man with spectacles and long sharp nose. "I am called Gaylon" he says as he offers his hand in friendship. He laughs broadly at Brahmah's bravado and answers, "it takes more than gold to join the Woldian League of Adventurer's my large friend! One needs a stout heart and a desire to help others in the battle against evil!" As the party make their way up the street towards town Gaylon explains to Brahmah that he need not abandon his god or his mission to join the league. Brahmah and Flat-Top learn that the WLA has just recently opened an outpost in South Harbour and should Brahmah or Flat-Top join, they would have access to information on where to find food and secure lodgings, healing, resurrections, at reduced rates to members and local knowledge, history, and other information. Brahmah is invited to spend the day at the outpost getting to know the folks there and in particular the canny fighter Turmoch, a well muscled and heavily moustachioed man in a full suit of scale mail and the guardian of a large collection of weaponry. The fighter challenges the Captain of the Chosen to an afternoon of sparing..."just practice, mind you!" he says with a wink as he hands a large double-axe to Gaylon for a spell that will dull the edge.

(OOC: Brahmah will be invited to return the next day for further orientation on the WLA)

Before leaving the inn, Gecktar provides the necessary magic for Zeoll's project. Toros hangs around watching the wemic, and marvelling at his friend's skill. The day seems only a moment as Zeoll looses himself in his task, entering a trance like state as he works, he becomes oblivious to all that surrounds him.

Winterglade discovers a pretty little patio set amidst a garden behind the Wind Rose. The quiet and protected area is an ideal spot to concentrate on his project and time completely escapes the centaur until the shadows of dusk make it impossible to see.

The sun sets and Ban Maeve sits inside the common room talking to the diminutive master as newcomers and regulars filter into the inn and Isabella and Jacob serve up the evening meal.

Brahmah
Thursday March 30th, 2006 7:05:59 AM

Brahmah takes Gaylon and Turmoch up on the offers and joins the WLA for a couple of days of orientation and sparring.

"Yes, the goal of the Chosen is to help the innocent and extinguish the darkness that I'm afraid we know too well."

"It would be great to have shelter outside of home. Will non-members be allowed to stay here too? I mean, should the situation call for it."

Flat-top
Thursday March 30th, 2006 7:08:01 AM

Goes along with his Captain Brahmah and watches his sparing with the over stuff human.
Then he remembers the Coins he owes to Gectar! "Oh! the minotaur will be dissapointed in me if I don't give his money back."

So Flat-top tell Brahmah that he'll see him later and when these WLA want their dues, "I'll give it to them Then!" Off he goes to seek Gectar. When they meet Flat-top taks his pouch out and ask "How Much do I owe you again?" Then he count out the money.

Winterglade
Thursday March 30th, 2006 10:53:53 AM

"Yes, please do take the books." Winterglade unpacks the Journye and hands it over to Grith tome by tome. "Please leave gold in Gecktar's hands. Gecktar, Winterglade thanks you for getting him out of tight spot. I am unable to pay you the second part of my debt at this moment, but I hope I will settle it very soon. Winterglade does not like to owe money, especially to friends."

Come evening the centaur joins the party in the inn, but makes a point of steering clear of the green vile stuff.

Brahmah

OOC: How is Gecktar coming by the totals that we owe him? I thought the only money spent was 30000gp.

Please can someone catch me up! :(

Gecktar
Thursday March 30th, 2006 2:33:36 PM

"Don't fear Zeoll, I don't forget your offer and I will stick to it. I will let you know what I want. Don't forget to ask me for other spells if you need."

When Flat-Top catch him back, Gecktar friendly smile to him. "There is no urgency to give me back the money, just don't forget. But if you want to pay your debt now it is 2142 gold pieces. And I will pay the next turn of Gnomish Ale. I will not drink it ! Just pay..."

"Toros, my friend, as I said to the other, there is no emergency. I have some money left to survive... Don't worry about it, you will find a way to pay me back sooner or later."

(OOC : what kind of item can be made ? I was thinking of a bracer enchanted with a constant shield spell for a cost of 1(spell lvl) x (1 caster level) x 2000 (constant spell) x 2 (for duration factor). But maybe hand made items aren't allowed in the Wold ? Only those described in the DMG. If so I will think about something else)

Toros
Thursday March 30th, 2006 8:16:56 PM

"Thank you, Gecktar. I will let you know how I will pay, as soon as I determine some other issues (related with the new character according to the new rules) Meanwhile let me offer you a nice lunch, while we visit around, if you would like."

Zeoll
Thursday March 30th, 2006 10:17:13 PM

Zeoll works through the day, losing himself in his labor. At the end of the day, he asks one of his friends who has mastered the art of writing to help him with a note. He uses an Animal Messenger spell to send it to his young friend Tash. He invites her to join the Chosen for an evening meal one of these nights.

He sleeps the night through, meditating on the voice he heard in his dream the night before, and in the morning resumes work on his cloak.

[OOC: I can make any stock DMG item or an item from the Oshirr House. If you want some other item, you have to get it approved in the Black Genie Center first -- I run that place, more or less, so go there and we can talk about any item you want to invent.]

Flat-top
Friday March 31st, 2006 8:07:03 AM

"Very Well spent!" Flat-top takes the big pouch from his saddle bag (Though I was going to say Belt didn't you Carla?) Counts out 2,150gp, then give it to Gectar "Here Friend is you coins. Sorry I can only count up to zeros!" said the smiling Flat-top.

"Now I'm off to the WLA, to see what it is all about! Want to come with me, Toros?" As flat-top start to trot that way.

Brahmah
Friday March 31st, 2006 10:25:40 AM

He enjoys the sparring.

DM Bob and Carla
Friday March 31st, 2006 4:14:02 PM

The Chosen of Domi reassemble at the Wind Rose after a productive day. Arriving in time for the evening meal, the musicians in the group are plied with requests for songs and stories by the regulars with whom they partied the night before. The group enjoys themselves but this night, imbibe in moderation.

Handing gems to the value of 2000 GP over to Gecktar, Master Grith collects the 17 tomes of sir Pobbington-Whyte's masterpiece from Winterglade. "Ban Maeve here has told me somewhat of the collections you saw at the auction in the Culverwood. I wonder that this Flyth might have some things that should be removed from general circulation..." He continues in a serious tone, "Ban Maeve has agreed to be my guide through the woods. " Lowering his voice, and speaking still more seriously, he continues, "the ranger will not be rejoining your party. When I return to Plateau City I will be sending him on another mission." The diminuative sage clears his throat, "Ahem! To check on some parcels in the Floating City! We will be leaving tomorrow."

After a pleasant night, the party retires to the big room set aside for their use. Flat-Top dreams he is back in the Culverwoods with Thadius and Thalpius. The satyr's help the centaur replace his horse-shoes with handsome new red ones. They start to play their pipes and Flat-Top dances. He dances until his muscles hurt and his legs tremble with fatigue, but still the satyr's play their pipes and the red shoes dance!

Zeoll dreams as well. Once again he is watching vague figures through a diaphanous curtain. A woman's hand appears, and then the wemic is staring into eyes the color of the deepest lake, which then become the midnight sky. There is a sense of vertigo and Zeoll feels like he is falling. Falling into the water...whirling through a starry night sky...the constellations become animated...the crab reaches out his pinchers...the fish gape and wriggle...the centaur rears up...and great Taurus reaches out his mighty arms and catches the tumbling wemic. "Child of Domi, you seek a terrible thing..." he rumbles cryptically.

Brahmah wakes early and returns to the WLA outpost. Striding along the quay, he notices the water remains calm, and the air is heavy and still. There are no signs of the Gossamer Wing or her crew. Gaylon is absent through the minotaur's morning orientation and the afternoon sparring session with Turmoch. Just before Brahmah returns to the Wind Rose Gaylon appears and advises him he may want to bring his initiation fee, and his friends, and attend the WLA meeting scheduled for that night.

(OOC: Please post activities for another day through to evening.)

Winterglade
Saturday April 1st, 2006 3:42:10 AM

Winterglade is gone for most of the morning and returns only early in the afternoon. He's been running half of the day, first to clear his head, and then just for the fun of it.

"Stone is cold and dead; kills the souls of all who dwell within it. Winterglade pities the two-legs who never venture out of their homes." - he remarks casually while he puts on his cloak and picks out stray leaves intertwined in his mane.

Then the centaur retires to his spot in the garden. Sweet aroma of cedar soon announces that he is working on improving his skill with wands. Late in the evening he emerges with another hand-made wand in his hand. It is straighter than the previous one and looks very much alike the one Winterglade got from Zeoll. "This will do." - he says, as he holds both in his hands for comparison [crafted wand of Cure Light Wounds, CL1, spent 375 gold and 30 XP].

"So Ban-Maeve is going? Well, pity. Winterglade believes in safety in numbers. It gives the troll others to swing his club at."

[OOC about crafting items: should I purchase components for crafting magic items every time I want to make something, or is it allowed to just spend gold?]

Brahmah
Saturday April 1st, 2006 7:15:20 AM

Brahmah wakes, sore from a day of sparring, but he slept better than usual.

During the day, hs spends time at the Catacombs and then returns with his goods(Can I say I got my stuff DM's? :)) to find the Chosen scattered around town.

With that in mind, he returns to the WLA office and continues with orientation.
"So, in order to get into the WLA, I have to prove I have egood intentions? When I pay my dues, can I decide level I can enter the orginization at? Or do I have to be an initiate first before gaining ranks? What ranks can one like me (8th level ranger) gain immediately?"

Flat-top
Saturday April 1st, 2006 8:57:06 AM

After paying his share to Gectar, he tell him "No! More! Gnomishes for a while, the last one must have bee stale, the way it hit me.."

After hearing the news that Ban is leaving for another assingment, He tell them Zole and Winterglade) "Ahh! Gee! I kinda like that Weimic, with those yellow teeth. He really scared the enermy! I'll Miss him."

He now follow his Captain into the WLA, watching and listening to what was going on. He then whispers to Brahmah, "That's a very good Idea you have there, I like it! I'm for You to give me those tattoos, the last time the catercombs did it I almost fainted! But I'm ready to get another. How much for the stuff any way?.

PS Jay that's a Yes, I'm in for a tattoo.

Zeoll
Saturday April 1st, 2006 9:18:50 AM

Zeoll is sorry to see Ban leave. "Good luck, my frriend! It is too bad that fate parrts us, but it does my hearrt good to hearr that you will be going to the Float."

If Brahmah tells the group about his plans, then Zeoll congratualtes him on joining the WLA. "They arre noble of hearrt and purrpose, frrom what I hearr," Zeoll says, "and they arre lucky to have a new memberr of yourr caliberr."

Flat-top too, if he is thinking of joining.

As for the offer of a Tattoo, Zeoll is pleasantly surrprrised. "My old frriend, that is most generrous!" [OOC: Jay -- what spell did you have in mind? And you should let us pay the gold costs, considering you are paying the XP cost.]

That day, Zeoll works again on his cloak, glad for the chance to come closer to finishing it.

Looking at Glade's handiwork, Zeoll admires the centaur's crafting. "Well done, my frriend! The Chosen arre everr in need of healing!" [OOC: Marcin my practice has been to buy "fixin's" at the Catacombs and then craft them in game. That way there is a record of gold spent, and if you make something that someone else invented, then that person gets royalties. Also, official Wold policy, seldom exercised by DMs, is that a DM can veto any Catacombs purchase. By going through the Catacombs, you alert your DM to the things you plan to make soon, giving the DM the chance to veto or at least be aware. That's my two cents.]

In the evening, on retiring, he plays his dream over and over in his mind. He is glad, and a little scared. There are potent beings, forces, and Powers in the Wold, who usually ignore the doings of mortals. Now he seeks to attract their attention. It IS "terrible" in a way, Zeoll supposes, but he finds himself eager, not fearful. Well, not very fearful. He imagines himself in the arms of the Constellation, and imagines himself answering: Yes, thank you, great lord, but I seek it still.

(In his mind's ear, Zeoll has no accent. LOL!)

I was thinking zero level spells of the Guidance, Create Water or Know Direction spells. You know, something dead useful!
Guidance is the most useful zero level spell.

I may even be willing to do 1st level Tattoos for Chosen who don't have a 1st level one already.

You all can give me suggestions for what might fit your character.

[Got that Cayzle; as I've seen Zeoll in the Catacombs buying "fixin" I figured out what to do - thanks.

Jay, that is great idea! But I'll agree only if you let me pay you back in full ;). After I pay back Gilles, that is. I think I would like to go with Detect Magic, but I'd like to think on it for a bit first - maybe some druidic spell I normally don't have access to would suit me better.]

OOC: Friends, I apologize, but I'm limited to ranger spells, zero and first level are the ones I can afford currently. Sorry that I was not clear! :(

I know Flat-top have a first level, so I'm offering a zero level to Flat-top.

I believe Toros has tattoos as well, but not sure what levels?!

Brahmah also give a non-magical tattoo to anyone who wants one. He's still learning though. ;)

Cayzle OOC on Tattoos
Sunday April 2nd, 2006 3:10:33 PM

Jay, a person making a magic item can use the help of a friend if he can;t himself cast a needed spell. For example, Gecktar has been helping Zeoll make his Cloak of Charisma because Zeoll can't cast Eagle's Splendor. So if anyone wants a tattoo of a cleric or druid spell, Winterglade and Zeoll can help make it.

Myself, I am tending toward either cure minor wounds (0 level) or detect evil (1st level).

Brahmah
Sunday April 2nd, 2006 5:59:07 PM

OOC: Oh thats right! cayzle, your the man.

So this is what I have so far.

Brahmah will be getting one if he gets help with the zero level or second level.

Zeoll would like either cure minor wounds (0 level) or detect evil (1st level).

Winterglade would like a detect magic or something else.

Flat-top has a first level already, but I might go with a zero level if Ceil wants one.

I need to know if Ban Maeve and Toros would like a tattoo. I'll give a few days to respond, then I will get the materials for only those who respond to me. :)

DM Bob & Carla
Sunday April 2nd, 2006 11:39:22 PM

A productive day is had by all, as the Chosen of Domi breakfast together but then go off on diverse personal tasks.

Winterglade goes for a long run. He returns, his flanks thick with sweat, due to the unnaturally still air. It is such a change from the coolness of the northern forest! Wondering at how folks could habituate themselves to living under roofs, the centaur returns to the garden behind the Wind Rose and applies himself to another creation.

Zeoll continues to be inspired and works hard on his elaborate cloak with help from Gecktar. The wemic replays his dream of the night before, and with a cat's natural curiosity, wonders what future there might be in dreams.

Brahmah enjoys the soreness of tight muscles. The minotaur ranger recognizes the importance of training and staying in shape. His mind is full, too, with information gleaned from his time spent at the WLA outpost. Flat-Top accompanies his captain, and is made to feel welcomed by the members staffing the outpost.

In the evening at the appointed time, Brahmah returns to the outpost with those of the Chosen invited to accompany him. He is ushered through the building, to the enclosed yard where the sparing had taken place. The space is lit by burning basins of oil bracketed high onto the pillars supporting the building. More than a dozen individuals dressed in bright robes and shining armature are gathered near a small heavy table on which lies a thick book bound in red leather. Brahmah recognizes his sparring partner, Turmoch, several of the leaguers from the outpost, and the adventuring party lead by Gilia. Commander Gaylon beckons the taur forward, and opens the thick book. "You have demonstrated admirable ability sufficient for initiation into the Woldian League of Adventurer's. Your skill entitles you to advancement to Journeyman should you wish it." Gaylon waits for Brahmah to signal his intent. )Brahmah Highlight to display spoiler: { (Initiate+2000 GP, Journeyman +5000 GP (total 7000 GP)}) " Now repeat this oath, using the name by which you are known in this Wold," directs the tall man with spectacles and long sharp nose. His voice resonates with pride as he intones, "I, Gaylon Arafel of Plateau City, do solemnly swear to uphold the ideals of the League, to protect the innocent and combat evil wherever I may find it."

When Brahmah has taken the oath, Gaylon hands him an implement of writing and points to the book, inviting him to add his mark. The last name, about midway down the page is one Bralin Stoneminder of the Clan Coragan.

Turmoch steps out from the line of officers and he pins the blue badge on Brahmah's cloak.

(Zeoll, if attending the WLA ceremony Highlight to display spoiler: { looking up at the sky sees the constellations Centaurus, Leo, and Taurus directly overhead! Did Taurus smile?})

(OOC: I have updated character sheets for Winterglade, Flat-Top, and Toros to look over and Catacombs purchases from Brahmah and Zeoll.-DM Carla)

Toros
Monday April 3rd, 2006 5:59:58 AM

When Brahmah has free time, Toros will congratulate him for his WLA membership and thank him for his offer for crafting tattoo. He is sure interested in having a Brahmah's tattoo, but does not know for sure what spell to choose yet...

OOC: For Brahmah's Tattoo, is the spell selection limited to divine spells or originally arcane ones can be crafted as well?

Flat-top
Monday April 3rd, 2006 7:45:14 AM

Flat-top watches his Captain take the oath, but something stirs with in him. After Brahmah signs the BOOK, Flat-top advances to Commander Gaylord, raises his hand and takes the oath.
"I, Flat-top of the Chosen of Domi, do solemnly swear to uphold the ideals of the League, to protect the innocent and combat evil wherever I may find it." Flat-top takes the pen and signs his name under Brahmah's.

On his way back in to line, Flat-top whispers to the Captain, "If you can I'll take a tattoo of either Floating Disc or Magic Missels, Please!" Then smiles at every body.

Winterglade
Monday April 3rd, 2006 11:02:22 AM

Winterglade accompanies the party to the ceremony, and then witnesses the oaths being taken in solemn silence. The centaur is more quiet that evening than usual, with a faraway look in his eyes. It is only late into the evening that his usual demeanor returns.

"At times, Winterglade misses the Great Plain. This town is so alien to me. How could anyone bear living that close to water. Yet I'm afraid I'll see many much more hostile places before my tasks are fulfilled."

Brahmah, Captain of the Chosen and Journeyman of the WLA
Monday April 3rd, 2006 12:32:09 PM

Brahmah puffs up his chest and states, "I, Brahmah of Minotaur Isle and there abouts, do solemnly swear to uphold the ideals of the League, to protect the innocent and combat evil wherever I may find it."

He places his mark. "I know that name I think, Bralin Stoneminder. Where he from, a dwarf, right?"

He hands Gaylon 7000gp in pearls. Six black, worth a thousand a piece and ten white, worth a hundred a piece. "There, all paid up!" He laughs and shakes the mans hand vigorously.

(OOC: What are the feats, skills and other assundries are you granting me as a WLA member please? I know what the description says, but I like the DM's confirmation Please. I believe all I get is two skill points for usable only on a few skills? And hopefully a feat. ;))

(OOC: Brahmah gains "Toughness", plus 2 skill points since he spent 2 days training at the outpost. (climb, handle animal, jump. ride, and swim.)-DM Carla)

OOC: Friends, there are NO arcane tattoos in the Wold yet. Only divine up to 3rd level!

Gecktar, whould you like a low level divine tattoo? This doesn't necessarly constitute the payment of debt I owe you, this is a present from Brahmah to his dedicated friends among the Chosen. If you do not want a magical tattoo, Brahmah can give Gecktar a mundane tattoo.

Remember friends, any mundane tattoo is a craft check on Brahmah's part. :) Be warned! the tattoo may not be perfect. The magical tattoo are simple though.

To R&C, I will be sending the revamped updated sheet asap. I am waiting for a transaction in the Catacombs to conclude then I will send it.

Gecktar
Monday April 3rd, 2006 12:56:42 PM

During the day Gecktar accepts the invitation of Toros "Toros, I've seen a restaurant near the harbor. They seem to have fresh fish. If you like it we could go there. After that I think I will go to the Catacombs to get some new stuff. Zeoll offered me to enchant an
objet... I think I've found what I need."

Returning to the Inn later in the afternoon, he search for Zeoll to tell him about the idea he had."Zeoll !! You're here ! Well I think I've an idea of what I need. I would like you to make a shield for me. I hope it is ok for you. As soon as I get the shield I would give it to you."

When Brahmah ask the Chosen for new Tatoos, Gecktar inquires his captain "Are these tatoos like those you have yourself or Flat-top ? Oh yes I would be glad to have one. Well... let me think about it... Maybe a Tatoo with Endure Element on it and I will never fear the harsh weather anymore... Could you do it ? I'm able to cast the spell if you need it. And asks the other if they need a clerical spell there is not problem. I would be glad to help."

(OOC about the gold most of you owe to Gecktar it was calculated like this : 15000 (because WLA paid another 15000) divided by 7 (number of Chosen). But at this time Ban was among us... leaving 2142 unpaid if he leave the group for a while...)

Flat-top has a first level already, but I might go with a zero level if Ceil wants one. No arcane spells, sorry Dearest. :(

Toros would like a tattoo, but doesn't know which. Decide soon friend! Within a day or two.

Ban Maeve gets nothing, seeing as how he's gone.

Gecktar wants a Endure Element Tattoo.

Going to the Catacombs now.

Suggestion to the DMs. Perhaps you should return what Ban Maeve owes Gecktar from Ban's current gear. It would be too bad for Gecktar to be punished for Bans abandonment.

When Brahmah as a ranger crafts tattoos, can we get spells like resist energy, animal messenger, alarm that are level 1 Ranger spells, as level 1 tattoos?

Toros - addition
Monday April 3rd, 2006 9:56:18 PM

Same with Speak with Animals spells?

I think this should be possible.
And if so I suggest to choose some of these spells as tattoos. For instance, Resist Energy could be better than Endure Elements. Animal messenger, speak with animals and alarm could be handy spells, as well.

Zeoll
Monday April 3rd, 2006 10:31:57 PM

Zeoll tells Gecktar he would be glad to help make him a shield.

At the WLA meet, Zeoll congratulates Brahmah. "The omens seem favorrable, my frriend."

DM Bob & Carla
Monday April 3rd, 2006 11:14:05 PM

Brahmah is the center of attention as his friends new and old gather 'round to congratulate him. Gaylon takes Flat-Top aside, and looking the young centaur in the eye, offers his counsel: "Your enthusiasm would be an asset to the Woldian League of Adventurer's, but I must caution you not to join without thoughtful consideration. You have watched your friend during his first day of training, and you yourself have participated during the second day. I see you have watched and learned. Return tomorrow for training with Turmoch, our weapons master, and come speak to me afterwards."

Gaylon escorts the Chosen to the exit and has a private word with Bramah before the captain departs the outpost. "Since you have plans to return to your beloved Taur Isles I would charge you with this mission: Represent the WLA in your homeland. Set an example by combating evil, in all its deadly forms, and protect the innocent. Never forget your vow to protect those who are guileless victims."

Winderglade pines for the open plains of his homeland, but bides his time as his friends finish their preparations, and wait for their transport home.

Making their way down the twisted streets of South Harbour towards the Wind Rose Inn, the party discusses what tattoos they will receive from their captain. All is darkness except here or there where light spills from a window or pools beneath a lantern hanging from a hook near a door, as one within waits for a loved one's return. The air continues unnaturally still and warm.

(Please post actions for the evening through to the following morning, and plans for the day.-DM Carla)

Toros  d20=3
Tuesday April 4th, 2006 12:25:27 AM

Enjoying his time with Gecktar and others, Toros starts thinking seriously what tattoos could be the best for the Chosen.

He was working on a long-forgotten level 0 spell, perhaps it could be possible to make it be used for Brahmah's tattoos.

((OOC: Cayzle, as the new Taur rules become certain, would it be possible to quickly approve the Taur's Try (+ 2 to the relevant Taur skill) so that it can be used for a new Brahmah's tattoo for the Chosen. That spell was the only T'orison that was ready to be approved and used as it is, and I have thought it is a good time for doing that... And, if it would help to make it sooner; for the moment, it can be open only to the use of our game, rather than the whole Wold.

And I would like to know, if it would be possible to get Resist Energy as the level 1 tattoo for Toros, please.))

In the later hours of the day, Toros does something that he always wanted to do. Identify the magical BATTLEAXE that he has been carrying for a long time. In order to do this, he gets an identify scroll and reads it. (Lucky enough he manages to pass the caster level check, 4 for a level 2 scroll, Magic Domain.)

Tunc, I liked the Taur's Try spell. I'll see what I can do to fast track it, seeingas the PTB have already seen it.

As for the Resist Energy tattoo, my personal feeling is that it is against the spirit of the rules. A compromise would be to let Brahmah make it right now, but that it would count as a second level tattoo (twice a day, cast at third level, cost in the 8 grand neighborhood). That's a PERSONAL opinion, not an official one. You should talk with Woldian Rulesmeister Kent if you want to push it. But I still think it is a little sleazy.

Thank you, Cayzle.I understand.

Hope we can use the Taur's Try for celebrating this turn point with the Taur races. The Taur spellcasters can access to this spell, same as the Elven vision spell, and then it would be a good option for the level 0 tattoos!!

Personally I think, as the Resist Energy spell is level 1 for Brahmah, and he has the necessary item creation feature, it should be possible for him to make it a level 1 tattoo from that. But no need to push it...

I was also wondering about the spells that are arcane in nature but included in the divine cleric domains... like True Strike, Enlarge Person, See Invisibility. Are they available for tattoos any more?

Jay B on the subject of Domain Spells
Tuesday April 4th, 2006 8:12:24 AM

Any spell in a domain are not allowed, per Cayzle's ruling several moves back. I agree that using domains strattle the fence when the arcane spells are within a domain, suck as Burning Hands or Fly.

Sorry, no domain or arcane spells will be allowed as of yet, though, I've been pondering another tattoo improvement feat that MAY be enough to add to the spells used in tattoos.

Brahmah will be getting a zero level tattoo, probably Guidance or Create Water.

Flat-top has a first level already, but I might go with a zero level if Ceil wants one. No arcane spells, sorry Dearest. :( How about a Detect Magic?

Toros would like a tattoo. Sorry friend, I think I'll give you a Speak with Animals or a Cure Light Wounds.

"It would be my HONOR, sir, to Represent the WLA in your homeland. Set an example by combating evil, in all its deadly forms, and protect the innocent. Never forget your vow to protect those who are guileless victims." Says the taur, sincerely.

"Is there no representation on the Islands yet?" He asks curiously.

Brahmah
Tuesday April 4th, 2006 8:47:33 AM

Brahmah adds, "MY, homeland and MY vow." He blushes, even under his dark skin.

Flat-top
Tuesday April 4th, 2006 9:32:15 AM

Flat-top Looks toTurmock in the eye, "I'll be Back Tomorow!" then off he goes with the rest of the group. "I wonder what I got my self into?? But if Captain wants me to take the test I will do it!"

Flat-top trots next to Brahmah, "Captain! I think I would like a tattoo Called 'Light'(Lvl 0 touch spell) I'm tired if carrying all those torches!
OH! by the way I'm going back to the WLA for training just like you, I though take we had very little time in fighting lately, Do you approve? I am a little rustie?"

The next morning Flat-top will show up bright and early at Head Quaters.(Leaning on the wall waiting for them to open up.)

Winterglade
Tuesday April 4th, 2006 12:14:45 PM

The centaur spends the evening strolling in and out of the inn like a quiet shadow. Those who look out of the window at midnight will see him standing still and alone in the night, his face turned to the moon.

Eventually, he settles down in the corner of the room, hides his head in the hood of his cloak, and folds his arms on his chest. From under half-closed eyelids he is watching Zeoll's half-finished cloak. An idea slowly dawns on him.

"Hmmm... Winterglade wonders if he would be able to make one, too?"

[Jay, 0-level spell for me (still haven't decided which one), but please put Winterglade at the very end of the queue. It will be some time before I get enough coin to pay Brahmah back.]

Zeoll
Tuesday April 4th, 2006 4:58:02 PM

Zeoll is enthusiastic about the creative efforts of his friends! He talks with Gecktar about his shield (how would you like it enchanted?); with Brahmah about Tattoos (I'll go for the CMW, for sure. It can save lives if a person is unconscious and bleeding to death); with Winterglade about the cloak he is making (he tells his new friend that the big downside is how long it is taking to make!).

He encourages Flat-top in joining the WLA and then spends the day working on his cloak (his third day of labor here by my count.)

Gecktar
Tuesday April 4th, 2006 5:44:37 PM

Gecktar is proud to have his captain accepted among the WLA. He will have tried to if his goal wasn't on another thnig. And serving a group could ever go again the interest of another. So his mind while preoccupied he is still very happy.

"Congrats 'sir' Brahmah, you're now an important person" he says with a smile, "I'm proud for me and the Chosen to have you as captain..."

A moment later he chats with Zeoll about the way to have his shield enchanted... "Well for now I just need more protection so I would be able to sustain first line for a while. I'm thniking about giving it a special enhancement later allowing me to have all my hands free."

(OOC : just having +2 bonus, and I will enchant it with animated ability later)

DM Bob & Carla
Wednesday April 5th, 2006 1:07:58 AM

The party returns to the Wind Rose and discuss projects. Zeoll explains his cloak is a labour of love and a long term project. Brahmah will be able to provide a magical tattoo for each of his companions, as long as they don't want anything too fancy! Flat-Top surprises his companions and retires before them. The Chosen's #1 party person is taking this WLA initiation business seriously! Happy for his friends, Gecktar none the less eyes a different prize. Toros decides to study his battleaxe a little more closely. There is something about it that piques his interest and he decides a little further magical investigation is required. (OOC: I need to do a little more research. Did Toros get this around March 2005?-DM Carla)

The Chosen of Domi retire and Winterglade alone stands a quiet vigil out of doors. The wild centaur witnesses the change in the weather as near the apex of the night, a light breeze brings relief from the south-east. The only sound is the lap of the waves against the quay, and the regular calls from the night watch on one or two of the boats moored out in the bay. When the sun rises, Winterglade is the first to notice there is a new boat anchored in the bay.

After breakfast Ban Maeve settles his debts, ensuring Ghecktar is reimbursed in full and any other loans he has incurred are honored. The liontaur presses small gifts, clay beads, tokens of his esteem for his friends, upon each of the Chosen and then waits outside the inn for Master Grith. "Do not forget the task with which you have been charged," urges the small horned taur. "Vargas never rests!" As the sound of hooves on cobbles recedes, Ban Maeve turns 'round once more and with a yellow toothed grin, waves good-bye to his friends.

Flat-Top loses no time, and arrives at the WLA outpost just as the doors are being opened. After an early morning conversation with Gaylon, the pie-bald fighter is handed off to the burly Turmoch for a work-out. (OOC: is Flat-Top going for Initiate (2000 GP) or Journeyman (5000 GP more)?-DM Carla)

Toros
Wednesday April 5th, 2006 1:47:57 AM

Toros examines the battleaxe more closely, trying to remember its history. He had got it some time after he had joined among the ranks of the Chosen. (OOC: Toros had got the battleaxe from the loot of a battle that dates back to 2004. Please check the post: The GossamerWing. (DM Jim) Tuesday January 6th, 2004 4:05:14 PM.))

He also keeps himself busy thinking about the Taur's Try spell and Brahmah's tattoo.

(OOC: Thanks for the explanations about the Brahmah's tattoos... Have a final question, if you would not mind: Could we get the Bless Weapon, Paladin level 1 spell, for the level 1 tattoo? )

Toros - OOC
Wednesday April 5th, 2006 2:01:07 AM

Have another question, too...

In our last battle, Ban Maeve had cast a True Strike spell and then in the next round shot an arrow to the displacer beast. For this shot, he had not rolled an attack d20 roll and just rolled for the damage, and posted the resulting damage as a critical hit.(Ban Maeve 2d6(5+5)+6=16 Thursday March 16th, 2006 10:10:42 PM) Does this mean that all attacks under the impact of True Strike are critical hits????

(OOC: Ban Maeve has a LARGE strength adjusted compound bow which deals 2d6+5(+ for other magics going on). Did not rule that True Strike was an automatic critical.-DM Bob)

Toros - addendum
Wednesday April 5th, 2006 7:31:55 AM

Toros węshes all the best and farewell Ban Maeve, the liontaur member of the Chosen, although they did not get the chance to know him very well.

Flat-top (AC 23 96/96 HP)  d100=98 d20+14=28 d20+9=25 d8+8=14 d8+8=10
Wednesday April 5th, 2006 10:26:36 AM

Flat-top arrives as the door are open, going strait to Gaylon "I will not take away glory to my Captain Brahmah, But what I need is a good sparing with a new opponent, So I'll go for Initiate Here in this little pouch is the 2000gp."

Then he is handed off to Turmoch for His work out. "Turmock! May I please use the Morning Star that Domi himself gave me? (it's taur size and only +1)"

So they enter the arena, there's a flip of the coin, and Flat-top wins the first blow.

Attack (twice) AC 28/Ac 25 - Damages 14/10hp.

OOC: Flat-top will not use his hooves, even to keep his opponent at bay,

Percentage for going first 98%

Brahmah
Wednesday April 5th, 2006 10:39:43 AM

(Toros, we have no Paladin to help me create the Bless Weapon. Sorry.)

Brahmah finally goes shopping and will have time to tattoo his friends. (OOC: I'll get back to R&C and email the rest with the final tattoos.)

(Dear DMs, I will send off my PC sheet and transactions from the Catacombs asap. Sorry it taking so long.
Oh yeah, doesn't Brahmah and Flat-top gain 2 skill points in certain skills for spending two days training?)

Winterglade
Wednesday April 5th, 2006 11:24:23 AM

Come early morning Winterglade enters the inn, the expression on his face as sour as if he just ate a basketfull of lemons.

"Uh. It is with great sorrow that Winterglade has to announce that there is a new boat anchored at the harbor, and it might be the one you were looking for."

[Well, if there is a paladin in this town he could cast Bless Weapon for Toros - probably even for free, if you talk to him right.]

Toros - Tunc
Wednesday April 5th, 2006 11:28:42 AM

I see, Brahmah. Thanks! In short, we can have druid/ranger or cleris L 0/1 spells as tattoos, sorry for taking that long for me to understand it all... And the Druid spells also provide very nice options. If Zeoll would kindly provide the spell, it would be great, if Toros could get a Faerie Fire Tattoo in the shape of a sprite, please! And again, thank you so much for your wonderful present. I have enough money to help you with the material costs, whenever you would like.

One final note that other Level 1 druid-only spells of Goodberry, or Shillelagh also could be good options for any who do not have access to Druid Spells. And, if Taur's Try could be ready, I hope it will be a good alternative for a level 0 tattoo, too!

Toros-OOC
Wednesday April 5th, 2006 11:35:30 AM

Thanks for the suggestion, Winterglade, and sorry that I just saw of it after my post. Yes, even if not for Toros, lets see what our DM would comment on finding a Paladin in town...

Gecktar
Wednesday April 5th, 2006 3:26:44 PM

Gecktar spends his last day roaming in the harbor. Looking at every store if there is something that can be of any use.

(OOC: did you receive my catacomb transaction ? Tell me when I can get it)

Brahmah (Illegal Second Post)
Wednesday April 5th, 2006 3:29:46 PM

Brahmah wants to find a paladin of Domi in town and will ask a favor from him or her. The leader of the Chosen would pay him for casting a spell for him while he draws a magical tattoo for a party member.
In addition, he will see if said paladin is a WLA member. If so, he'll strike up converation with them and try for a reduced price. He will explain his and his friends cause with the Chosen and the WLA.

Zeoll
Wednesday April 5th, 2006 6:13:01 PM

Zeollis glad to help create any druid Tattoo desired. Shillelagh is a great one for a staff user, but remember that it only works on a non-magic staff.

Faerie Fire would be fine.

Zeoll hopes that his deliveries will arrive from the Catacombs in time for the ship to depart. He figures he can use a ship voyage to keep working on his Cloak.

He is sorry that he never met his friend Tash (see post of March 30). He thinks about her that night before sleeping, praying to Domi for her health and happiness.
