Ve moves slightly towards the center passage, so that anything that comes form it will encounter him first. Nick gratefully accepts Ve's fire protection spell. Oh, he'd had a bad experience, all right. Why was it always fire? Not that drowning or freezing or whatever would likely be a more pleasant way to die, but still. And why did he feel so tired all of a sudden?
He looks down toward the centre passage and frowns. Was it a trap? If so, what kind? Perhaps Dahlia could tell them more.
Danger and the threat of more of it is beginning to make him feel angry. "That girl had better be in one piece," he says quietly.
