The distinctive hull with pronounced overhanging bow and stern identify the newest addition to the collection of boats in the bay as a xebec. Built with a narrow frame for speed, it none-the-less has considerable beam in order to carry an extensive sail. The aged triangular sails are yellowed and stained, and the hull and decks look in need of a coat of paint.
++++++++
Flat-Top gives the WLA fight trainer more than he bargained for. Turmoch calls a break, and removes a dented helm. A large half orc with close cropped grey hair moves in to take his place. Brahmah shows up at WLA headquarters with Toros and Winterglade in tow. Gilia's party is there lounging about. The man in the plain but finely crafted armor who always seemed to be near the elven leader, advises the captain that Gilia is in conference with Gaylon, and the party awaits their next mission. He admits his allegiance to Domi, and agrees to cast the magic for Brahmah. A paladin, he disdains the taur's offer of gold, but instead begs to call in a favor at some later date. Brahmah had better be quick about it though, for when Gilia returns, the party will be leaving South Harbour.
Turmoch stops Flat-Top's training early, and sends the centaur off to the bath house to get cleaned up. Later, with his captain, Winterglade, and Toros present, the pie-bald fighter makes his vow and is shown the page where he is to make his mark in the red leather bound book. Gaylon himself presents the centaur with his blue WLA pin. (OOC: As previously posted (April 3) Brahmah gains "Toughness", plus 2 skill points since he spent 2 days training at the outpost. (climb, handle animal, jump. ride, and swim.) As an'Initiate' Flat-Top would gain only the 2 skill points-DM Carla)
Back at the Wind RoseGecktar accepts a rather large delivery from the Catacombs. There are a couple of wooden crates, and a canvas sack. There are labels that will need to be deciphered. Zeoll appears when he hears the commotion, and the rest of the party arrive soon afterward, just in time for dinner.
The good smells from the kitchen lure more than the Chosen of Domi. The party has no sooner moved their new gear out of the way, and claimed a spot for dinner, when a motley crew of individuals burst through the door. Leading the ragged bunch is an unkempt sailor with long tangled hair, a scruffy beard, and a glass eye that does not resemble it's fellow.
(OOC: Time to wrap things up. Character sheets in by Friday, please!-DM Bob and Carla)
(OOC: Toros figures that the battle axe would give the one wields it a minor advantage during battle (+1))
Winterglade Thursday April 6th, 2006 7:24:55 AM
The centaur, who is also waiting for a parcel from the Catacombs, is pacing nervously to and fro, looking up whenever somebody enters the inn.
The appearance of sailors later on does not go unnoticed.
"Feh. What kind of people does it take to forsake the solid land for months and trow themselves away from warm meals, fresh food, clean water, baths, and comfy beds?"
"Married, probably..."
[It will be Detect Magic for me after all, so there is no hurry with me. Thanks!]
Flat-top Thursday April 6th, 2006 7:42:24 AM
Flat-top stops and ask "That's all? Just a little scuffal? I have not work up a sweat yet! But I'm greatful for the work out, Thank-you."
After the shower, swearing in and the pin. Flat-top will follow Captain Brahmah, Hoping that he's will still be his Righ Hand Taur.
OOS I have not received my answer from Cayzle or You Bob & Carla (About how much hit points Flat-top loses??}
Cayzle OOC to Ceil (and DMs) Thursday April 6th, 2006 8:42:08 AM
Ceil, sweetie, please forgive me! I'm sorry for the delay. But I promise to send you and Bob and Carla the info you need on making a new PC sheet.
Ceil, there are really very few changes. I suggest that you keep your original stats (NOT reshuffle things around). Yes, your AC and hit points will go down a little. But there is not too much that will change.
Toros Thursday April 6th, 2006 10:16:52 AM
Toros gets excited when they go to the WLA Headquarters. Later the wemic gratefully thanks the paladin, Brahmah and Winterglade, and offers once again to pay for whatever it would be needed for the tattoo and spell.
When they return, he also pays his debt to Gecktar in gold pieces.
OOC: Thank you Bob and Carla for the explanations. I will update Toros's CS and post it again.

The Chosen's Tattoos
Brahmah will be getting a zero level tattoo, Guidance. (Getting Zeoll or Winterglades help.)
Zeoll would like Cure Minor Wounds. (Getting Zeoll or Winterglades help.)
Winterglade would like a Detect Magic and Bless. (Brahmah needs help with Bless and Detect Magic.)
Flat-top wants Light. (Getting Zeoll or Winterglades help.)
Toros would like Faerie Fire and Bless Weapon. (Getting a paladins help.)
Gecktar wants an Endure Elements. (Brahmah can do this himself.) *********************************************** All the tattoos have some form of High Woldian incooperated into the design. The tattoo is where ever you decide it to be.
Toros' tattoo has a sprite dancing atop the high Woldian symbol for 'fey light'.
Brahmah's Guidance Tattoo is on the inside of his left forearm and is the simple mark that means 'Holy Gift or Divine Guidance'
All the tattoos are basic or even rough, but the magic works great. ************************************ Brahmah has materials for one more 1st level tattoo.
Brahmah congratulates Flat-top and tells him that his ol' captain wouldn't mind if he took Journeyman too.
When the tattoos are being done, Brahmah is careful not to hurt his friends. He unrolls his fur lined kit and unpacks some beautiful pristine tools and inks.
He is willing to take his free time between training and sleep to handle the new tattoos.
When it is finally time to leave, he is ready quickly. If there are still tattoos to be done, then he states they will have to be finished on the ship.
Zeoll d20+18=31 d20+10=17 Friday April 7th, 2006 12:28:34 AM
Zeoll stands to greet the newcome sailors. "Hello good men of the sea!," he says, "Come, let me buy you a rround of drrinks, and maybe while you wet yourr thrroats, you can slake my thirrst forr news of the oceans!"
Zeoll engages them in conversation, looking for news of ships whose names he might know, of the Taur isles, or Vargas, and so on.

Winterglade Friday April 7th, 2006 7:16:42 AM
Winterglade is getting restless. The upcoming sea voyage is visibly bothering him. As he watches the bunch of sailors and Zeoll socializing with them, he shakes his head.
"By the holy Fist of the Brawler, I sure hope this is not the crew of the ship we are about to embark on. These two-legs look fit only to drink cheap beer and cause trouble."
The centaur folds his arms on his chest.
"I will have to take my armor off while on board, no? Winterglade feels naked without his armor. Ehhh. Let this be over, the sooner the better. It won't be a memory Winterglade will be looking back fondly upon, no."
[I will gladly supply any required cleric spells. For now I am interested only in a 0-level tattoo, 1st level will have to wait until I have decided how to develop my character and which spell I'll need most!]
Flat-top Friday April 7th, 2006 8:19:22 AM
Flat-top trots up to the sailors, "Hail! how was your trip here? can I buy you a round of Green Ghnomishs? that is sure way to get the salt out of the lungs!" To Brahmah , "Let me know when my turn come up, Captain!" Now he's ready to listens to the sailors tales.
Brahmah Friday April 7th, 2006 10:38:51 AM
"It's okay Glade. I have supplies for a first level tattoo when you want one."
DM Bob and Carla Friday April 7th, 2006 7:17:25 PM
The barkeep looks askance at the motley assortment of newcomers and their apparent leader with the long tangled hair, scruffy beard, glass eye, and then with some apparent reluctance he does as Zeoll and Flat-Top request and starts to load mugs onto the counter.
He of the glass eye steps further into the room, and his companions spill out into the common room claiming tables and benches where they can find them. "Smartly with the grog now, matey!" he says grinning at the bar-keep and revealing a couple of gold teeth amongst the rotted ones. Grabbing a just filled mug with gusto, he raises it in the air and spins in a tight circle, "mind your manners ye scum give a thank'ee to these fine lubbers! By the powers! It won't be said cap'n Ross's men be son's o' biscuit eaters!"
The crew raise their mugs and the air fills with cheers and toasts, followed by a few ribald calls, and then some jokes. Laughter bursts from this corner and that as the rough group unwind. Captain Ross advances on the Chosen and proffers a hand, calloused and tan, under the dirt. "Albert Ross, gentleman o' fortune, " he says, continuing, "ye be called The Chosen?" Then with a gaffaw, he slaps his thigh, "well I didn't choose ya!"
Flat-top d20+2=21 Saturday April 8th, 2006 8:52:47 AM
Flat-top watches the very salty crew of Captain Ross, turns his Head to his Leader <Captain Brahmah> Give him a wink "Captain Brahmah! It look like we have hare a Kin of ours! (meaning Pirates?)"
"I'm First mate Flat-top, Welcome! I'd be more than glad to be clinking mugs with All of you! Can anybody sing or play the pipes?" The center ask.
OOC: If there is some ones that can play music, Flat-top will do the Sailors windpipe Dance (with all four hooves going)
Dex Check for dancing 21.
Flat-top [Part Two] Saturday April 8th, 2006 9:02:30 AM
Before he goes dancing, will pass Winterglade. As he does so Flat-top whis pers to him 'Friend Winterglade! Is there a temple of Domi around here? I would like the priest to up grade my MorningStar from +1 to a +2 Holy Morning Star, after all Domi himself has given it to me, when I was first call to the Children"
OOC to DMs: Flat-top has decited to up grade the Domi Morning Star, and sell off his trophy his +2 Morning Star and May be sell His shield+, I hope it's not too late"
Toros d20=13 Saturday April 8th, 2006 6:33:21 PM
Mimicing what exactly he has done, Toros greets the newly met Albert Ross, gentleman o' fortune... "ye be called Gentleman o' fortune?.. well, not in the fortune o'mine!"
However, there is nothing but just an exact replica of the attitude that the Chosen receives from the gentleman of fortune- if what Ross does is nice, what Toros does in return is too, if it is not, neither does his. It would be a good reminder to Albert Ross to think twice before what he says, seeing himself on a mirror that is neutral, which is Toros...
When Flat-top shows his charming skills on dancing and singing, Toros will accompany him with his performance, too. (d20, 20 with +7 bonus)
Later, the liontaur spends some time with his new tattoos, thanking Brahmah gratefully one more time. The Bless Weapon tattoo makes the wemic to feel more responsible, thinking himself as a Paladin of Domi and WLA. The sprite and Fey Light tattoo is a beautiful tattoo, but not for casting spell. (Unfortunately, Faerie Fire is not a level 0 but a level 1 spell, so as a tattoo it cannot be together with Bless Weapon, which is also level 1. But Toros can take another tattoo of level 0, and Taur's Try would be a good option for that, whenever it can be used...)
The more he looks at the skillfully crafted details of the figure, the more the wemic falls in love with his sprite on his left arm. While the tattoos make him think and appreciate the generousity and skills of Brahmah, they also surprise Toros that such a fierce fighter like their Captain has such skill and taste at that art and craft, a tough shown face versus a sensitive hidden face. Well, what can be thought, or said after that... Perhaps Brahmah would not like the idea that a softer side of himself is being discovered and revealed... Anyway, Toros manages to stop himself before turning the tattoo into a fetish.
He has some more ideas now, and approaches the spellcasters of the Chosen. "Gecktar, Winterglade, Zeoll... I am thinking to get a spell-storing weapon, which I can use to activate a spell (level 3 or less) with a successful hit... You are much more experienced than me about spellcasting, among other things. So which spell would you think it would be best to cast on such a weapon? Bestow Curse, Searing Light, Inflict Wound for a melee weapon, Call Lightning, Sound Burst for a ranged one...? Because I am hoping that you can cast the spell on the weapon, hopefully good enough time before we move into real action, so that such a weapon could be in our hands for tactical use - without causing any trouble for your selection of spells, when you would really need them... For instance an early strike with Bestow Curse can decrease the defenses or attacks of a formidable enemy at the beginning of the battle... And we can also create our own curse, as much as I remember from what I have read... What would you think about such strategic collaboration of magic and fight? If you could please help me with that it would be great indeed!(And, of course as Flat-top, Toros hopes there is still time for some shopping)
Winterglade Sunday April 9th, 2006 2:37:50 AM
"Let me take a look at that weapon of yours, Flat-top."
He turns the morningstar in his hands with reverence.
"No, sorry, Winterglade can't help you... he doesn't have enough power to bestow on it the abilities you require. You will need to seek outside assistance."
The centaur scratches his head. "Flat-top, indeed there is a temple to the Smith in town, but if Winterglade remembers right it is empty now. I am sure there is a more experienced cleric at the Catacombs, though. You will need to go there anyway, either to pay for the upgrade, or to buy raw materials, you know."
When Toros asks his question, Winterglade starts to look uneasy and glances at Gecktar and Zeoll.
"Well, Winterglade has never used the powers of Brawler to kill anyone or anything outright... still, he could load such a weapon, yes. He would feel responsible for whomever the weapon was used on, though."
[Up to 3rd level cleric spells here, Tunc. Make your choice and we can roleplay it out ;)]
Winterglade takes a long look at the rowdy bunch of sailors. "They give Winterglade goosebumps. Firekindler's Gift they might be. Could be trouble in the wind."
Brahmah, a correction to the tattoos Sunday April 9th, 2006 11:37:30 AM
I didn't realize that a couple of you already had first level tattoos. Here is the newest tattoo list for the Chosen. --------------------------- The Chosen's Tattoos
Toros gets a zero level Guidance tattoo (Or would you like Detect Magic?). (Getting Glades help.) [Didn't you already have a first level tattoo? :(]
Gecktar wants an Endure Elements. (Brahmah can do this himself.) ---------------------------------- DMs, please tell me what Brahmah is able to do this time around with the tattoos? I'm getting confused. :)
My apologies abou the Faerie Fire tattoo.
DM Bob & Carla Monday April 10th, 2006 12:58:19 AM
The extroverted Flat-Top, and the brazen Toros amuse Captain Albert Ross, who slaps his thigh again, and continues his gaffaws, "Ye be fine buccaneers indeed, to be talkin' and sayin' yer mind. Ye be just like the wench, said ye'd be!" The one good eye fixes Toros, and the pirate continues, "Thought for sure the black spot be marking the Wing! We was 'going on the account', if ye knows what I means, when a storm she come in from the south to Dragon Bay wi' a wannion, all sudden like. Me, and the Sea Hag be at the edge, out o' the brunt o' it, but the Gossamer Wing be right in its path. Me thinks the crew be payin' a visit to Davy Jones' Locker, but Captain Lira, she orders the main mast cut, and the Wing, she ride out the storm like a cork in a barrel of ale!"
Captain Ross pauses in his story telling to watch as one of his crew takes out a squeeze box, and another a slender flute, and begin playing a merry jig. "The Wing be in at Dragon Bay not far from Windhorn Hamlet for repairs. The captain, fair lass, that Captain Lira, she say there be some sprogs at South Harbour wantin' to go swashbucklin' and there'd be some doubloons in it for buccaneer!"
Flat-Top and Toros get along fine with the captain and his crew, although the later are predisposed to like the Chosen due to Flat-Top's and Zeoll's generosity. Brahmah puzzles over the designs for his magical tattoos. (OOC: 1 day to create a level 1 tatoo.) Winterglade keeps an eye on the newcomers. Is it that he doesn't trust them, or is anxious about a pending voyage over the seas? Later he and Toros have a heart to heart, and Winterglade reveals an astonishing fact.
(OOC: Have started the process of going through the character sheets. Feedback will be coming soon via e-mail with questions and such.-DM Bob and Carla)
Winterglade Monday April 10th, 2006 3:00:50 AM
Winterglade watches the sailors and keeps his thoughts to himself.
"I wonder how long does it take for a fresh add-on to that bunch to start aye, talking like this, mate? I'd bet copper against gold it'll be less than a small hourglass before somebody goes arr."
Then the Chosen are called buccaneers, and Winterglade asks in a weak little voice:
"That price on your heads? Please tell Winterglade it's only for deeds you've already told me about?"
Toros Monday April 10th, 2006 5:46:53 AM
Toros takes his new friend's concerns very seriously, without thinking anything else, "Winterglade, I certainly understand your concerns... Perhaps, a spell that would bestow curse would not make you become involved with a situation that could unwillingly compromise your principles, and what you believe is true... For instance, decreasing an enemy's attack power would not kill him, but can help us to beat him. Or, with our faith and spell power, we can create a special curse that would not contradict to our principles....
OOC: These seem to be nice options for a curse, don't they? -6 decrease to an ability score (minimum 1). -4 penalty on attack rolls, saves, ability checks, and skill checks. Each turn, the target has a 50% chance to act normally; otherwise, it takes no action. Or, why not a curse that could include some fear effect...
Toros used to have an Enlarge Person tattoo, but since this is a cleric domain spell, which is arcane in essence, with the new Taur rules and personal choices of changes to his character, I had dropped this tattoo from his character sheet. Untill Brahmah offered to craft a tattoo for him, I was not thinking to get one in a soon time. But, thanks to you all, I think I made a good choice to get the Bless Weapon tattoo. For the level 0 tattoo, could you please wait a bit, at least untill Cayzle says that the Taur's Try can be used in the game, I believe it would not take that long...
Flat-top Monday April 10th, 2006 7:17:55 AM
Flat-top stops his dancing after he hears about Captain Lire and her crew. He turn to Captain Ross "Captain Lira Told You About Us? Her ship was in trouble in the Harber? Her crew maybe loss??"
Flat-top goes to the Table with his friends, yells at the Bartender "Joe! Set me up a Green Gnomish! I have a pain I have to cure!" Flat-top is motion less with far away look in his eyes. His Captain Brahmah knows this look in the centaur eyes, it means Danger.
Brahmah Monday April 10th, 2006 10:46:20 AM
He pulls Flat-top off to a private conversation. "Whats going on? You look worried."
Gecktar Monday April 10th, 2006 5:26:11 PM
OOC sorry for not posting for a while... I'm darn busy with my job and my new son don't sleep much... Sorry all I will try to post tomorrow.
Zeoll Monday April 10th, 2006 8:25:47 PM
Zeoll welcomes this news from the sailors. "I'm glad they arre becalmed forr rrepairrs and in no dangerr," he says, "Would you be able to take us home to the Taurr Isles?"
"I think a fairr prrice forr passage could be arranged. And how long would such a jourrney take?"
DM Bob & Carla Tuesday April 11th, 2006 12:29:01 AM Winterglade asks if there is a price on the Chosen with concern for what he has gotten himself into. With respect for the centaur's morals and values, Toros suggests a compromise.
Flat-Top sobers up, and dons a grim visage, when he learns of Captain Lira's dilemma. Sensing the centaur's displeasure, Brahmah enquires after what is disturbing him.
Gecktar is distracted with visions of his homeland, as it was when he left it, of the dream Imod gave him, and how he spoke to him of a quest to unify the taur races.
Zeoll starts to negotiate with the Captain of the Sea Hag.
"Arrr!" says the Captain, "passage to the Taur Isle's be a possibility. A couple days if the winds be with us. She's provisioned up, and wantin' but a few crew." Leaning in to Zeoll, he taps the wemic on the chest, "be you one for the sweet trade? Find some scurvy cur and loot his swaggy?" Before Zeoll can answer, Ross continues, "You and your'n come crew the Sea Hag an' a deal on the passage be your'n."
Winterglade Tuesday April 11th, 2006 2:49:46 AM
"Well, in this case Blindness is your friend here, Toros, though it might be hard to make it stick it on a bulky warrior type. Would work like charm on spellcasters, though" - says Winterglade, but his voice is far away, for he can't stop thinking about the pirate captain and his crew. In his mind's eye he can already see the posters: "WANTED, a centaur going by the name of WINTERGLADE, for acts of piracy on high seas, reward 10,000 gold, DEAD OR ALIVE." He winces at the "Arr".
[Bob and Carla, did you get my mail finalizing my purchase at the Catacombs?]
Toros d20=7 Tuesday April 11th, 2006 4:09:36 AM
"I see, Winterglade, thanks for the suggestion. But for that spell, I think there is no need for an attack with a weapon, as you can already cast it from a medium range. By the way, dont worry much about that sea and pirate stuff or staff" replies Toros, as if he can understand what the Cleric thinks (d20, 10 for a sense motive check).
Brahmah Tuesday April 11th, 2006 7:19:44 AM
Brahmah knows the seas are dangerous and as often as the ladies of the Wing were out on her, he's not surprised that they may have been lost.
"Aw, I miss this life. But at the same time, I know its not for me anymore."
Flat-top Tuesday April 11th, 2006 8:13:41 AM
"I know about the sea, and the chances we take for a smooth sailing. But That's not what bothers me!
These pirates know about the price on EACH of our heads?? There's only one place that they could get that infomation?? And that is from Captain Lira! I know She would not tell them, with killing her and her crew First! And they could have scuttle their ship?? Then again they could have gotten a hint of a prize from rumers about us and our package we hid.
You know I really don't trust this captain and his crew! I think that they'll either turn us in to the High Clerics, Or just give them our dead bodies for the Big rewards!!
I need another drink!!" Flat-top down the mug he has in frount of him and calls for another.
Brahmah Tuesday April 11th, 2006 9:53:23 AM
The Captain laughs at Flat-top. "A price on our heads?! When has that ever bothered us?"
Flat-top [Part Two] Tuesday April 11th, 2006 2:10:51 PM
Flat-top replies Brahmah, "Since the Pirates showed up, Nice and Friendly. When did you ever known a pirate lend a helping Hand?" Flat-top starts on his second drink.
Brahmah Tuesday April 11th, 2006 2:15:04 PM
"Well, I think, since I was a pirate once, that I've seen several nice pirates. But your right, some aren't so nice. So watch out for your gear."

DM Bob and Carla Wednesday April 12th, 2006 12:24:06 AM
Flat-Top is concerned that Captain Albert Ross might have ulterior motives, but Brahmah isn't quite so worried. The more he hears, the less Winterglade wants to be involved with the captain of the Sea Hag. Toros tries to put the centaur at ease, and continues discussing magiks and strategy.
Unclouded by drink, Zeoll's sharp eyes take in the shabby state of the Captain's finery. He also notices that although Captain Ross always has a drink at hand, he hasn't shelled out any coin. Perhaps the fellow isn't as dangerous as his talk, or else the 'sweet trade' isn't so sweet? When the pirate speaks of the Captain of the Gossamer Wing the wemic senses genuineness, and even a little affection.
With a shrug of his shoulders, Ross puts down his empty tankard. "Well, thar it is," he says matter of factly. "The lass, she sent me to fetch ye off to yer home. She be sayin' there'd be a little gold in it fer me an' the crew. If'n yer still interested, be at the end of the dock tomorrow mornin'. Wait for the Wing an' it be a fortnight." The glass eye stares unseeing at Zeoll as the man's good eye takes in his happy, partying, crew. "Uh, don't make it too early, though. Looks like the boys'll be feelin' the grog."
Captain Ross exits the Wind Rose, and a little later Jacob, the bartender announces last call.
Winterglade Wednesday April 12th, 2006 3:36:02 AM
"<Sigh> It's a voyage home for you. For Winterglade it be a leap of faith. A very. Long. Leap. With his eyes closed, too."
"What exactly can we expect on the island?"
Winterglade still hopes that his order from the Catacombs will show up tomorrow, but for now the prospect of setting sail with a bunch of hung over sea dogs is more unnerving.
Flat-top Wednesday April 12th, 2006 8:55:52 AM
Flat-top call for one last drink, listens to Winterglade questions. "I can answer that for you, Glade! It will be a Fight For All of us and the Childrens Very Exestance. Drink up my Friend! It just might be your last. Good night All!"
Flat-top drain the last drink, the goes to the nearest wall, lean on it and fall fast asleep.
Brahmah Wednesday April 12th, 2006 11:00:45 AM
The minotaur sleeps easy, but he's not stupid. His falchion and pack are in his hands all night. He is aware of the price on their heads.
"We should sleep in the same room while we're here." He says casually. He gets cozy and sleeps, the salt air fresh in his lungs.
Toros Wednesday April 12th, 2006 12:45:15 PM
Seeing the changing mood of others, Toros starts to think maybe there is something with these pirates that he has not noticed at first. Well, as a lucky wemic he knows how to read and speak commons, but all these dialects, little nuances etc are still problem to understand for him. Anyway, if you do not understand much, you do not worry much, but better not to drink much tonight. They did not come here 'todie'!! Flat-top should have heard this rhyme of Toros!
Zeoll d20+10=29 Wednesday April 12th, 2006 10:46:58 PM
"So, arre we deterrmined to go with these pirrates? The captain did not answerr when I told him we would not attack innocents orr engage in rroberry. Why did he ignorre me, unless it is to avoid telling lies. Maybe we will be shanghaied if we show up. I have a bad feeling about this."
That night, Zeoll prowls the bars that are open late, finding out what he can from other sailors about Captain Albert Ross and his Sea Hag.

Zeoll chuckles. He was not sure boarding the ship was the best idea, but since Flat-top and Brahmah are already aboard and asleep there, he shrugs and bunks down belowdecks too.
DM Bob and Carla Thursday April 13th, 2006 9:25:54 PM Winterglade is the first to retire. On entering the large room that has been reserved for the taurs, he sees the pile of unopened parcels that had been delivered earlier in the afternoon. He recognizes the stamp of the Catacombs on the labels. Being one of the literate taurs, he is able to discern that there is a parcel for almost everyone in the party including himself. (OOC: Consider all Catacombs purchases delivered! No one cared to read the labels when the parcels were delivered as per the April 5th DM post!?!?))
Flat-Top downs one for the road then heads off to the room. The centaur leans against a wall near an open window and the salt air brings him dreams of hard and honest work on a rocking dock, under a blue sky. The captain of the Chosen also sleeps well, though the array of weapons about Brahmah makes it appear as if he is some great chieftain gone to his final repose.
Gecktar and Toros check in for the night, confident in the leadership and decision making of Brahmah. Gecktar dreams of a golden pyramid, 'round which dance children. They are the most exotically beautiful youngsters he has ever seen...a wonderful mix of all the best that is the taur races.
Second guessing himself, Zeoll takes a stroll down the quay and back up the first street off the water. It had been last call at the Wind Rose and so it appeared with the other inns and taverns in South Harbour. The wemic approaches a few of the revelers exiting the various establishments. Most shrug their shoulders and shake their heads when he questions them about Captain Albert Ross and the Sea Hag. One individual, a rather thin dwarf with bald head, a short beard, and a gold ring in one ear volunteers that Captain Ross has a reputation as a chaser of rainbows who still hasn't found his pot of gold. That he never stays in South Harbour long enough for the merchants, to whom he owes considerable sums, to catch up with him. And, that the Sea Hag once had a reputation as the swiftest little three-master to sail the Lotophagi but now she was definitely a little down at the gunnals.
Back at the inn, Zeoll dreams. He is back in the arms of the great constellation, Minos, when suddenly the stars that form the shining minotaur dim, and then go dark, like a black hole. Zeoll witnesses the giant constellation take on the form of the party's dark nemesis, Vargas, and with a terrible roaring laugh, the servant of Marteaus drops the wemic to draw a fearsome black sword. The last thing the wemic sees as he tumbles through the night sky is the giant blackguard raising the black sword up to the heavens and blotting out the stars one by one.
(OOC: The party has been in South Harbour 3 full days. It is now the morning of the the 4th day. There is about 1 hour before the party must assemble at the end of the dock if they are to meet the small boats that will row them out to the Sea Hag.)
Zeoll Thursday April 13th, 2006 10:08:13 PM
Zeoll awakes bright and early and urges the group to get to the dock on time. "Come on, you guys," he urges them. "I dreamed about Varrgas last night, and he had the Black Sworrd. We have to beat him to it!"
The liontaur shepherds the group to the Sea Hag.
Winterglade Friday April 14th, 2006 2:17:32 AM
Making most out of his last hour on the dry land, the young centaur goes for the last run on the dry land [Standard selection of spells, but swap MCvE for Water Walk].
Then, when it is time to enter the tiny boats that will take them to the monstrosity waiting at anchor, he is the last one off the dry land, his head hanging low as if he was being led to the gallows for a nice round of hemp fandago.
"Firekindler's Gift is this quest. Not the last time I have to say this, no, either."
[Parcels: I read everything, but mine was ordered on April the seventh ;) Anyway good to have it.]
Flat-top Friday April 14th, 2006 7:48:17 AM
Flat-top is awaken with a start, looking around he see the packaged with his name on it, he opens it and there is every thing he ordered.
The center now dreses in his new Breastplate Aemor,Fells a little funny because his arms are naked. Then come the new Amulet, as soon has ha wear it around his neck, his headache goes away?? "Hmmm! I must remember to alway wear this necklace when I go drinking." There is his new long bow and a quiver of arrows "Ahh! Now this is a weapon for a Centaur!" Then he spots his Morningstar and his shield, all polish to a brand new gleem, "Ahh! my old friends!" he put the away. But there's a note at the bottom? It read 'Out of the seeweed that you wanted, but if you go to the old witch near the dock, she has some. you cannot miss her hut. sign Wyst.'
Now Flat-top is ready, every thing pack away for the trip. He yells to Zeoll "I'M COMMING! pushie old tiger, I HAVE ONE STOP BEFORE I BOARD THE SHIP!"
Down to the harbor he goes.
Brahmah Friday April 14th, 2006 10:44:08 AM
(OOC: Brahmah couldn't read the parcels until he gets his new helmet, from said parcel. Thanks to the fact the PTB made them all illiterate!)
Brahmah wakes from his nap and dawns his new gear. He is now sporting a beat up old helmet now, which looks funny perched between his two horns and tethered with a strap of leather under his chin.
He polishes up his new WLA, which is pinned to the clasp of his cloak, his buckler looks different and his gold pouch seems SIGNIFICANTLY lighter! His left forearm now sports a new tattoo as well.
He reminds everyone that they will get their tattoos before reaching home.
The ranger also lets the arcane casters know, if there are any still in the party, that he has 3 pearls which may be good for the identify spell if we need them.
Toros Saturday April 15th, 2006 12:02:04 AM
Toros hurries up to finish some last-minute stuff, including the purchase of some window-shopping before he boards the ships. What Zeoll tells about the black sword and Vargas is enough to make the rest of the day full of worries and tensions for him.
Flat-top Monday April 17th, 2006 12:57:35 PM
Flat-top hurries to the witches house, ask and buys some lemon sea weed, thank the old lady, rushing to the dock.
Zeoll was waiting for him, "Sorry! Zeoll, had to get this for Wintergale." Flat-top clomp aboard.
Gecktar Monday April 17th, 2006 3:30:06 PM
Gecktar follows his friends to the small boat that will lead them to the Sea Hag... Remembering the sight of the children dancing around the pyramid strengthen him with a new energy.
Brahmah Monday April 17th, 2006 3:48:07 PM
Brahmah rests.
