Jay B Monday April 17th, 2006 9:34:59 AM
Okay folks, I have Loretta and Ceil so far. No one else seems to want into the game.
Jerry has given me permission, or thats what it sounds like so far, to run a tap using short installments of my world. No worries, all things Woldian will be allowed!
I will have to most for other players in the Giggling Ghost like always, but other than that, Jerry and I seem to be working things out.
I'll keep you up to date, either emails or here on this board. :)
loretta Tuesday April 18th, 2006 2:32:36 AM

Loretta requested a low level campaign.
loretta Thursday April 20th, 2006 5:15:08 PM
Ceil wasnt reading my posts....wah...wah...wah...now dont forget to email me about any books you want, although I wont be able to copy them till i get a new comp (using my walmart card this weekend, unless something comes up) as this comp keeps freezing and now doenst acknowledge my cdburner as being on the comp.
Ceil Friday April 21st, 2006 5:47:25 AM

ceil, jay how do you like the game idea i mentioned in the loot and booty.
Ceil Tuesday May 2nd, 2006 6:26:17 AM
Loretta, Which one? Dear. The one with Wings?
loretta Tuesday May 2nd, 2006 12:45:56 PM
The basic concept of the game is that the gods have let some people in the world know that the world is facing destruction in about 1,000 years. As long as the rulers of the countries make plans to evacuate a portion of their population they will have great crops ect. People can go through one of several portals to a new world. The portal will open up for two weeks once every 2 years per area. The pc's are part of one of the first groups through the portal. There will be many surprises on the other side.
I plan to have around 500 people be going through the portal. however when pc's talk to one of their fellow travelers I dont want to have to make stuff up and so want at least a background, looks, personality, and partial character sheet for everyone. I will need full character sheets for the leaders of the community.
Almost everyone going through the portal will have pledged service to the person in charge (appointed by the king, I'm thinking a younger daughter or son) in return for supplies (thinking animals, food, seeds, and shelter for a year). You can go through the gate without pledging service and I'll probably have some of the more well off npc's do that (merchants, wizards, high clerics, nobility). The pc's will have to explore the new land, get crops in, have someone to take care of their crops/animals when they are gone, and make sure they have firewood and food for the winter. This will be true roleplaying, I'll be insisting on good backgrounds on pc's including why they are going to the new land and info on family both in the old land and the new.
Jay B Thursday May 4th, 2006 4:42:44 PM
Okay, I'm goinig to ask you ladies...
What do you want to see in the game? Intrigue? Combat? Politics? Dungeon Crawl?
Loretta Thursday May 4th, 2006 5:40:46 PM
Roleplaying! not roll playing. not to much politics, and if you must have dungeons (which are ok as long as there is a historical reason for them to be there and be infested with monsters and gold and not used to often) then balance it out with actual role playing later.
Ceil Friday May 5th, 2006 6:28:05 AM
Oh! Boy Waht a choice, Hmmm! Now let's see, intrigue sounds good. COMBAT OH! now that's a given, nothing is better than a good fight (for treasure), Polatics well I get enought of it on the news, But a good back stabing is fun to play. It seem that all the really good treasurs are hidden in Dungeons.
Well Jay! Did I answer you question? Did I Help at all?
Jay B Friday May 5th, 2006 8:44:08 AM
The ladies have spoken... I'll see what I can provide. :)
Jay B Friday May 5th, 2006 1:25:37 PM
Okay ladies... I have a request to make.
I want this game to be enjoyable, so, what I need from you both are four additional players.
I want Justin, personally. But if either of you have problems with that, email me and explain.
So choose two players each that you approve of and let me know who they are. If someone is chosen by both of you, I will ask them to play.
It doesn't matter to me who we get, just as long as I don't exceed 6 players. I won't make the same mistake as Justin. If someone ABSOLUTELY can't live without playing my game... I'll by the casket. :) I don't want my players to be overwhelmed with posts or in game activity. I find 6 players to be a good round, easy, number to handle.
You have your assignments. Go forth and be fruitful. I know you can do it.
loretta Friday May 5th, 2006 1:40:56 PM
cayzle & kathy (i know them both from dirt city)
loretta Friday May 5th, 2006 1:41:31 PM
Do either of you have aim? if so I need to add you to my buddy list.
Jay B Friday May 5th, 2006 3:29:14 PM
I have AIM axemaster1010, but never look at it anymore.
Whats yours?
loretta Friday May 5th, 2006 3:52:21 PM
Loretta537
Ceil Friday May 5th, 2006 6:01:59 PM
OK, HERE'S MY TWO,
Kim Mc Coy, JonPaul Ward, comes from Ct) Richard Pawlowski Mike Knotts Phil K (the New Player in Game 9)
I have no problem with Loretta choices, My choices are because they post steady five or more a week.
Jay B Friday May 5th, 2006 6:14:36 PM
My ideal group from that list, provided they would like to play would be...
Loretta Ceil Cayzle Kathy Mike Kim
I don't remember if I have played with Mike, but I like everyone elses play style.
Here are my choices for alternatives... Justin or his brother James... I say James because he actually posts more than Justin, I say Justin because I sort of promised him a spot if he wanted it just after his game went away.
If anyone knew where Sam Casper was, I'd choose him in a heart beat....
I think Jerry wants me to recruit in the Giggling GHost for players though. HOWEVER! I may be able to convince him otherwise.
Ceil Saturday May 6th, 2006 3:20:47 AM
Your right The webber brothers are very good players, Jim is better Than Justin, But justin has a habit of either losing intrest after a while. As for Sam, he hs not been heard of since last September. Not even Jerry knows where he is.
loretta Saturday May 6th, 2006 4:40:19 AM
ceil, do you have aol instant messaging?
who's sam casper?
Loretta Saturday May 6th, 2006 5:05:22 AM
I love the wold...I wish that playbyweb was more like the wold.
I recently joined a game in playbyweb I love the game concept (havent really played much though) but the dm posting is awful. I know I'm not the best of posters but I'm a player and usually if I dont post it's because I've been sick (really sick or depressed and cant get out of bed sick its the same). What's worse is that the dm has a co-dm and still there are no consistent posting.
When I joined there were 2 or 3 characters in the woods fighting skeletons, my character and two others were on the beach and had no idea about the fight. I said my character helped her parents off the ship and went to get water, now at the same time one of the other pc's helped my character and another (very stupid half orc) character was crying because a cat caught a mouse it wanted to eat. the half orc was very hungry and the other character gave it some food. There was some good roleplaying among the three of us on the beach. The admin only posted for the people in battle until I said my character went to look for water. then all he said was a very short sentence that I found a spring and to make a listen check. I made the check (with a 20) there's more roleplaying going on with the remaining two on the beach and the dm only posts a reply to the characters in combat. I complain in the ooc thread that the dm needed to reply to everyone and the codm says that I hear sounds of fighting stop (notice that there is still no post about the two on the beach). the last dm post was on the 30th (that's the one where he ignored my listen check) and the last co-dm post was on the 1st (the one where he said i heard the fighting end). There hasnt been a post in about a week, yet I know they have been at the site because on the 4th the dm introduce his girlfriend who was joining the game. Today I have made 2 ooc posts the first stating that I was amazed that the dm posted monday and although he was at the site on thursday I was amazed there was no post. the second was to ask the dm & co-dm to do three things. 1. post regularly 2. post for everyone, and 3. let us know if they cant post. I also informed everyone about how good the wold is :-D
Jay B Saturday May 6th, 2006 8:09:36 AM
Loretta, read the archival posts for the Chosen of Domi game. Sam is the player for Kale. He is a good role player, but had a tendency to disappear for a bit. Sam would post during combats and when loot was being divided, but on everyday posts, he would split. I guess role playing wasn't his favorite thing, but he was good at it.
Yeah, I don't like play by web site. Do they have any Harry Potter based games there?
Ceil Saturday May 6th, 2006 9:07:23 AM
Loretta, no I don't have a IM messenger, I cannot activate it, no matter what pass word I come up with, yahoo rejects all of them.
Sam Casper is a long time both in texas and in the games, he said he had to take a walk about for about two month and never came back (up to this date) cannot even get to talk to Maria his wife when I E-Mail them, something has happen.
Loretta Saturday May 6th, 2006 12:47:53 PM
Ceil, try the aol instant messaging not yahoo. As for passwords I have found that using ones that are easy to remember usually work great you know like password or messaging, or something like that. Now your sign on name would be harder try something like ceil followed by some numbers.
Loretta Tuesday May 9th, 2006 1:21:43 AM
Ceil, Jay
When do your games begin & what are the character creation rules? Can I have an idea of what the games are going to be about for when I create my characters?
Ceil I cant wait to be a winged halfling sharpshooter (with maybe a level of regular fighter for melee weapons.)
Jay B Tuesday May 9th, 2006 6:25:07 AM
I'll email my game rules shortly...
Ceil Tuesday May 9th, 2006 6:06:45 PM
Jay = I have received your rules, But cannot open your file. Sorry
Loretta Tuesday May 9th, 2006 10:08:46 PM
Ceil, Jay used microsoft WORKS! Read below to see what kim suggested about works documents.
Kim d100=67 Monday April 24th, 2006 5:27:08 PM Just had someone send me a CS saved with *.wps. Bad! What you said, JK.
If you have Microsoft Works, go ahead and edit to your hearts content in native Works format. But if you're going to share the document with someone else, then do them the favor of converting it (by using Save As option) in .rtf (Rich Text Format), which just about any word processor can work with. Or in .txt format. I prefer RTF, though.
Jay B Wednesday May 10th, 2006 10:39:50 AM
I use what I'm familiar with. I'm not apologizing for it either. I don't usually FOLLOW the CROWD! So get use to the WORKS format... thats what I am using in my game. :) Cheers.
loretta Wednesday May 10th, 2006 4:01:20 PM
yes, but ceil cant open it.
loretta Wednesday May 10th, 2006 11:31:50 PM
Jay, as you're the dm here are some game questions.
1. what time of year is it?
2. how much per pound for carrots, onions, potatoes?
3. per arms & equipment guide a portable game board weighs 1lb and costs 2g or up. I was wondering how much a game board of mother of pearl & ebony would cost?
Jay Thursday May 11th, 2006 6:56:03 AM
1. Fall harvest just happened. 2. Stew vegetables are plentiful and cheap just after harvest, mere coppers a pound. 3. Sounds like you want a masterwork game board... 50gp or so.
Keep in mind, please, that the gear you carry isn't the most important. Gold, and other currency, will need to be maintained. It is likely I'll be charging you for rooms or the like.
Also, where you are starting out is a lightly wooded area with large expanses of plains.
Rules are as follows...
Build 4th level character with starting experience fitting that level. Characters can be ANY alignment (but keep in mind that any evil acts will have repercussions.) Use basic 3.5 rules from the PHB, DMG, SRD, (other books may be added if needed). Use any core class or Woldian class. Use either the dice roller on the Woldian website or one of these sets of attributes... - Four 14's and two 10's. - Three 16's and three 10's. - Two 18's, three 10's and one 8.
Characters may start play with +1 magic item of their choice, either a weapon, armor, or ring. - Characters also get 5000 in starting gold. - Characters may also have a family heirloom important in some way to the character. - The heirloom may be of masterwork quality. It must have a lineage and back story however. (this item may never be enchanted. The DM may alter this ruling as he/she sees fit). The heirloom may start to take on traits of its own if the DM, that is to say, I, like the back story.
Feel free to use Monster races, but use the ECLs. Standard races as good as any. Exceptions may be made by DM who will consider game balance before allowing race. - Fey (none of which start play with instruments. You may give up all starting gold for your special instrument; ie the satyrs pipes, etc) - Planetouched are allowed. - Dragontouched are allowed. - Undead may be played (keep in mind that the background story will have to be GOOD and your PC will have to deal with the stereotypes.) - No plant creatures, constructs, dire animals, magical beasts or animals will be accepted, unless they are animal companions, familiars or special mounts.
Clerics have to worship a God from the DMG or Wold. There are no 'generic' clerics.
PC surgery will take place if necessary.
Jay B addendum to rules Thursday May 11th, 2006 8:59:21 AM
- Standard gnomes are rare. Forest gnomes are the most common. - Standard dwarves are most common, though other sub-races exist. - Elves are rare. Though, different sub-races exist. - All manner of halfling can be found. - Orc and Half orc are common, though, mostly in the southern kingdoms. - Lizard folk are seen mainly in the swamps of Azmo.
Jay B Thursday May 11th, 2006 9:00:29 AM
I need email addies for these folks.
Kathy Mike Kim
Jay with further info Thursday May 11th, 2006 9:41:34 AM
Rangers, druids, clerics, bards, shamans (witches) and barbarians are dominate classes.
Rogues, wizards and sorcerers are few and rare. Some do exist.
Orcs are the major threat in this world, so half orcs, as good as they may be, will see their share of prejudgice/racism.
------------------------------ Acceptions will be made for players who have good back stories for their PC's
Ceil Thursday May 11th, 2006 7:33:30 PM
DM Jay Here are the E-mail address.

loretta Friday May 12th, 2006 5:26:15 AM
ceil when does your game begin? and what's the character creation info?
Jay b Friday May 12th, 2006 7:36:20 AM
Please, keep in mind, my rules keep evolving, so things might change. Thanks
Ceil Friday May 12th, 2006 8:01:30 AM
I don't know when I'll start, June or july. You enter as your self with the silver Wing Pin, and on the other side of the Tapestry You have a full set of wings, You'll be meeting two males they will take you to lern to fly and fight. When the story ends You fly out of the Tapestry and your wings will disapere.
Jay - Can I have a half Drow (Papa Dwarf/ Mama Drow)??
Jay to Ceil Friday May 12th, 2006 2:03:28 PM
You can have a Half-elf, with half-elf stats and your background. :)
There are no stats for half dwarves... though, I'm sure some odd and creepy mutant has been born. :(
Jay B Sunday May 14th, 2006 2:42:41 PM
Game Update:
They don't have a spot for my Tap until July, then the next one is October. I may not be ready by July.
Loretta Monday May 15th, 2006 4:45:02 AM
Jay, since you wanted to select the people playing anyways if there isnt a spot open when it's done then try playbyweb.
Ceil Monday May 15th, 2006 5:52:10 AM
That's all right jay, For you I'll waite.
Jay B Monday May 15th, 2006 10:50:07 AM
Don't really like the format on PBW Loretta.
Jay B Monday May 15th, 2006 2:42:02 PM
Game Update:
FROM JERRY.
Ahh. Thanks for explaining.
Let me remove this burden from your shoulders Jay. I declare that DMs in Taps can't promise slots to players. So tell them I refused that idea. They will have to sign up as normal and hope for a slot. Then they have to use a character idea that you will approve as playable in your scenario.
Jerry

Sorry Ladies.

Just give me a day advance notice and I'll be in the giggling ghost and waiting.
