Master Tim,"After you take the ponies to Master Tim, and bring this parchment back with the right thing on it, then you each earn a silver, besides what I already paid you. Understand?" He has them repeat the instructions, then sends them and the ponies on their way.
When you receive my two ponies
and their tack, please burn
your mark at the bottom of this
parchment. I'll reward the lads
who return it.
Kendry L-P
The Right Honorable Burgomeister Calfast Rowgold TunnellyIf the two lads whom he sent to deliver the ponies to the blacksmith return for their two silver pieces, he pays them (as long as they return the parchment with Master Tim's mark upon it), and asks, "All right - you showed yourselves competent to deliver ponies. Can you take this and make sure it gets to our Burgomeister, Calfast Rowgold Tunnelly? If you are sure you can, I'll pay you a silver each now. If you bring an answer tonight, or no later than tomorrow morning, then I'll pay one gold piece. Understand?" He makes sure he has the boys' names, and has them repeat the instructions to his satisfaction.
We are in town. Lots to talk about. My sister speaks well regarding certain items. Can we meet on the morrow? Tenish or half past would be a good time, or, suggest another more convenient, if you will. Maybe lunch? Staying at WT&M.

THREE LEGS OF THE STOOL"All right friends - that is the chorus. Try singing it together with me," the bard encourages the audience, especially as more militia members arrive. He plays it a couple of times to make sure they have it - and turns his face to a mirthful pout on the last line before the Fa-la-las. Then he weaves in the verses, and calls on the gathered crowd to join in again for the chorus.

(Crescent Valley Halfling Adventurer)
A milking stool it hath legs three
The better for to sit you see
For if one breaks then best watch out
The maid upon the ground will pout
Fa la la la-la la-lee
Chorus"Now, there's something different on the final chorus. Sing with me the first two lines, then listen carefully to the third and fourth," he instructs the crowd.
A milking stool it hath legs three
The better for to sit you see
For if one breaks then best watch out
The maid upon the ground will pout
Fa la la la-la la-lee
The militia gather every week
To practice skills and polish feats
Lest if some foe should charge on in
We hobbits take it on the chin
Fa la la la-la la-leek
Home-grown militia are the wall
'Gainst invaders large and small
Our peaceful valley they protect
Earn our gratitude, respect
Fa la la la-la la-lall
Chorus
Adventurers are bold and brave
Delve wilderness and darkened cave
It's they that face the far-off threat
Earn fame and fortune by their sweat
Fa la la la-la la-lave
They fight goblins winning treasure
But learn the genuine measure
Wise ones' insight us sustains
For something ventured something gained
Fa la la la-la la-leasure
Chorus
The way of peace is tried by few
But friends and allies it accrues
When love o'ercomes the villain's heart
He can a new and good life start
Fa la la la-la la-lew
Alemi's ways are just and fair
Bold Domi's courage bans despair
Flower's fair virtue quickens love
These three give guidance from above
Fa la la la-la la-lair
Final ChorusKendry grins, and gives Airin a quick peck on her cheek, then leads the crowd one last time in the final chorus!
A milking stool it hath legs three
The better for to sit you see
If all three hold then we can drink
Of milkmaid's pail then kiss her cheek!
Fa la la la-la la-lee
Fa la la la-la la-lee
Ten came upon a merchant blameless
They battered him and spit on him
For that he was an elf
Full wicked they with hearts of malice
Surrounding him their faces grim
They threatened him with death
Then came some others, wanderers they
And saw this gloomy scene unfold:
The ten against the one
They were six, come down the way
Warned away, their doom foretold
By one feather eight undone
Now, will the two repent?
Dear Bella,"All right, gang - back to the tower!"

--Kendry--
The Ishgara is a magical tree usually found deep in the Culverwood, but the Tree has the ability to relocate itself to different places, so it is very hard to find. It is the only known Ishgara Tree in the Culverwood, but many saplings have been found.=============
The moths that rely on it are not uncommon -- they are orange with black lightning-bolt-stripes, and found primarily near the Ishgara Tree and its saplings. Generally, that's the area surrounding the deep Culverwood; however, they have been discovered in other areas because of the tree's relocation.
Twice per year the adult moth migrates to the tree to breed and lay its eggs. Eggs hatch within one week, releasing a small green caterpillar with red lightning-bolt stripes down its back. Once hatched, the caterpillars feed on the leaves and sap runnels of the Ishgara Tree. Within three weeks, each caterpillar has grown to three inches in length and forms a chrysalis. After another two weeks, the moth emerges and flies away.
Magical Qualities - The moth is able to locate the Ishgara tree (or the saplings) wherever the trees may be found. The moth has also been seen emanating a dim light in the early evening hours, like that of a firefly. Scholars say this could be a mating dance of sorts. The caterpillar's silk has magical properties, but the caterpillar itself is simply an insect.
The moth on the other hand, has transformed. It shows some minor sense of self preservation and awareness. This has prompted initial classification of the magical insect -- due to its nature, scholars are calling them Fey.
Magical Uses -- Not much is known about the magical nature of the Ishgara tree and its sap, other than it is very powerful. And because the tree is able to protect itself fairly well through its translocational abilities, very little of the pure sap is readily available for research or use. It has been determined that the tree has the ability to render itself immune to magical scrying or divination, so it is often invisible to human eyes. It is speculated that the Trees have the ability to draw Woldsblood directly from the source. Research has, however, been done on the moths and caterpillars that feed on the tree, and it has been found that diluted forms of the Tree's magic can be created from the silk of these insects, but only for use in specific low-level personal magics.
Known magic items created by incorporating a fragment of the Ishgara tree (such as some of the sap, or a twig, or a bit of bark) include: Ishgaran gauntlets of strength; periapt of wisdom; amulet of constitution; gloves of dexterity; cloak of charisma; headband of intelligence. These fall on the lower end of magical power, but still are useful.

"'In ancient days when the Gods were but mere mortals, there existed a language that was already ancient. This language of symbols is all but forgotten today, but lives on in the symbols we use for the Gods, albeit in a corrupted form. This mysterious language of the ancients is the source of the Holy Symbols for Domi, Gargul and Marteaus, among others.'"I think it was the introduction to a text on the High Woldian language," the bard explains. "It's hard to find books in High Woldian anymore."
Now as I wander[Bardic countersong, lute, perform: string instrument: 18; perform: singing: 25] If the people keep up or increase their singing, Kendry as well does his, whether humming or with additional lyrics. He aims to make it a friendly competition, if compete they decide. If they are trying to lure with their songs, the halfling wants to provide his friends a defense.

Heed ye not the siren songThe halfling bard smiles a bit, thinking that the danger of combat has him taking poetic shortcuts, lessening the quality of the lines. Well, no time for composing a masterpiece now. We've gotta take these foul gals out, he thinks in the back of his mind.

Remember when you met my father?[PhilipK - I'm not sure how strenuous singing is - I would think not overly so. But if you deem it enough to lead to exhaustion - then Kendry is willing to perform to the point of exhaustion, if it seems to help the enspelled man. -Kim]

But you held your breath and then
Asked, "With your daughter may I dance?"

1100 gold piecesOnce he finishes with his calculations, Kendry addresses his friends in the halfling tongue. "I reckon, if we sold all the items at the Catacombs (except the gems, coins and vial), that would bring us 1,030 gold pieces and 5 silvers. The gold and platinum coins total 1,900 gp value. Together that's 2,930.5 gold.
80 platinum = 800 gp
6 gems = ?
vial = ?
masterwork dagger = 305 gp
simple lock = 20 gp
2 medium sized masterwork heavy steel shields = 170 each = 340 gp
silver holy symbol to Alemi = 25 gp

Scroll with 3 spells:
- See Invisibility (Brd 3, Sor/Wiz 2) = 150 gp
