Justin Webber (DM) Ball Saturday December 17th, 2005 11:28:19 PM
The group is allowed time to greet the people of the party and after while it is found out that some of the people have daggers or what looks like daggers and such on them but most look showy rather then for weapons. A dark robed man also is here who stands out considering his outfit.
After mingling with the crowd alittle which most just seem to ignore you Fabris meets up with the group and motions, "Beowulf will meet with you soon but hurry, come with me now." Fabris moves to a large tent andl eads you in where a couple ladies and guys stand, "Okay, dancing lessons everyone. Men who want better clothes meet with those two nice dressed men near the clothing area in the corner, lady to the other side when your finished to be fitted too." Fabris smiles, enjoying his job as he gets to watch each person try to dance, some probably succeeding. (perform dance checks people. DC:10 shows you have the basics and only will be tutored and snickered at alittle, DC14 showing you can dance at a normal ball and any DC over getting you applause from Fabirs and the dance teachers.)
This goes on for awhile and you get the lessons and new outfits for those who want them anyway before Beowulf walks in wearing a beautifully designed outfit of dark gray with silver embroider and the symbol of a leaping lion on the left side of the tunic...he wears a his sword though, the old but trusty blade hanging like a trusted friend. He smiles seeing you and moves over to take each person's hand and giving it a gentle shake, "It is so nice to see you all again. I trust the fort is nice and you like your new home? You must tell me all abut it. We have some time before the ball really starts and I want to hear everything and fill you in on the ball and my worries, etc."
Sir Henri d20+4=19 Sunday December 18th, 2005 7:42:38 AM
Sir Henri follows the others into the tent, but refuses any customes, Telling them that his Uniform is almost new and the only thing he'll need is a mask.
When the dancing lessons begines, his fear is that since he has not dance in years, that his feet has developt into two left feet. But as the lessons progreses, it all comes bace to him, "This dancing is like riding a horse! Once you know how, you never forget??"
When Beowulf shakes his hand, Henri answers "Every thing is good, except for levers here and there. It is home to us. Thank you, Sir!"
Marek Isentomb d20=14 Sunday December 18th, 2005 12:19:18 PM
Marek follows to the tent, "Dance lessons huh. Well it should prove amusing at least." As gruff and, well let's face it, unattractive as the hard warrior and thrill seeker is, he turns out to be a quick study and light on his feet. [Dance 14]
Marek will move over to get new clothes, to be fitted over his armor and to be sure thier is no restriction in drawing his weapon. Marek will point out to the others, he has only seen ceremonial daggers thus far.
Hart Monday December 19th, 2005 3:41:34 PM
Hart avoids the dance lessons.
Fern d20=3 Tuesday December 20th, 2005 2:34:44 AM
Fern nervously heads over to get dancing lessons, however first they want to see how well she dances. She performs awfully stumbling and tripping over her feet. After she takes her lessons she goes over to get fitted for a nice dress, and then take lessons on how not to trip over the skirt.
perform: 3 (if you say dex mod instead of cha mod for dance then add +4)
Sir Henri d20+3=18 d20+18=30 Tuesday December 20th, 2005 6:53:50 AM
Henri watches Fern dance, it's all he can do not to laugh at her moves, so he tell himself that for once in his life, he'll have to lie. "Fern! My dear, that was nice moves there on the Floor, I must have the first dance with you, please? That is if were not too busy." Henri smiles sweetly at Fern, "Now if they would only shorten the hem of you dress by one inch, every thing would be perfect!"
OOC: Rolled for Cha 18. and Diplomacy 30.
Hart Tuesday December 20th, 2005 8:31:19 PM
Hart just watches the group.
Justin Webber (DM) Lessons and talks d20+3=7 Tuesday December 20th, 2005 10:19:17 PM
Mykell watches everyone and then takes his turn and trying the dance lessons, he however declines the offer of a new outfit as he prefers his armor and such that he has cleaned up nicely.
Mykell's dancing is pathetic and he simply shrugs afterwards, "It would seem that I'm rusty but oh well." (dance DC:7) ----------------------------------------------- After the lessons and while the clothing is measured and such the workers of the fabrics get to work and leave you all to talk to Beowulf who has waited patiently and even has had a small laugh at the dancing lessons.
Hearing the small comments made about the fort Beowulf nods and speaks, "I'm glad the fort seems to be workable for all of you and I hope the people I sent with you to give a hand are of some help also."
Beowulf stretches before sitting down, "I have asked you all to come to this ball as guests and guards also as you may of already been told by Fabris. I believe this is a chance for you all to form relations with some or all of the nobles and there is one atleast from most of the cities of the land here. I'll be honest with the fact that I been trying to keep this ball secretive but as you all may expect nobles are not the most secretive bunch and the darkness will most likely have eyes and ears open and this would be a perfect chance for them to take care of some resistence. The races do not stand a chance seperated but together we could very well push the darkness from our lands forever more."
Beowulf now turns to looks at Fabris and snaps his fingers, "Show them the other reason why I am worried Fabris."
Fabris moves forward and along with him is brought a small cage that comes up to about waist height and there is a cloth over it which Fabris pulls off quickly to show what looks to be a small child f about 10 inside the cage but the child is shadowed and seems to almost be made of shadows itself. The childs eyes glow some what but are a even darker black and the child hisses showing sharp teeth.
Beowulf looks to the child not in worry but more of sympathy as he speaks to the group, "My magicians have ran magic tests on him and it has came to our knowledge that he is 100% human child but infected with darkness in a way and degree we never seen before. It's melded with his human side and he is not just human but darkness also." Beowulf shakes his head, "My reports say that only days ago he was normal and he looked normal till we caught him trying to get into the castle and then he changed to look like this as he fought back. I believe the darkness is learning a new trick and this is why you are here. If one or more of those people out there are like him then a attack will come I know it and if one does then you'll prove yourselves as worthy guards I know and show that you are worthy allies. If nothing happens then you'll be rubbing elbows out there and getting to know the nobles."
Sir Henri Wednesday December 21st, 2005 6:31:33 AM
Henri sits beside Lord Beowulf, "My Lord! The people you sent to help are very faithfull, I cannot praise thrm enough. At first I though the they might be spies, But no there was no evil among them. They might be small but their hearts are as big as a giant."
Henri looking around, leans a little closer to Beowulf's ear, "As for rubbing elbows with the Gentry, I already know most of the hob-nods here. Except the one you invited call 'Mykell', I never seen him before and yet he wears the ring like the one you gave us. Can you tell me more about Him? also this other dark one who was introduce as 'J'hack, he seem dark and brudding?"
Hart Wednesday December 21st, 2005 1:50:19 PM
The druid finishes the trade with the dwarf.
He comes away with ...
+2 dagger of defending wand of summon nature's II cure serious wounds potion +1 dark wood staff of spell storing (two spells) +? Dragon hide armor of ? Crystal house ring of Beowulf
The armor is still a mystery to the druid.
Hart waits for group.
Jhark Wednesday December 21st, 2005 7:28:29 PM
Jhark walks into the tent having been slowed down by an interesting tapestry that he noticed on the way. He looks to Beowulf and then to the outfitters for the party. "Isss that necessssssary my Lord Beowulf." He seems to shrink further into his large cloak and robes. "I do not think that sssome would approve." He glances around to all those present and you hear a sigh from under the hood as he reaches up slowly to his hood.
It is now that you notice spiked gauntlets that end in four inch metal nails. As the hood is slowly slid back to reveal what is underneath, you hear another intake of breathe. Under the hood is the deep bronze scales and head of what would appear to be a dragon. The slitted eyes take in all the group as he watches faces closely. "Before you guessssss..I am not half-dragon." You hear a note of anguish and shame in his voice as he says that last.
His arms drop back to his side and the sleeves of his robe sip back to cover his gauntlets. He glances to Beowulf and inclines his head. "You sssaid I needed to work with them...ssso it isss only fair they know."
Sir Henri d20+18=32 Thursday December 22nd, 2005 7:06:06 AM
The paladin watches as the new commer reviels his true form. Now he knows why he never detected Evil in this man?,
"Hmmm! I've seen worst, now all you need is a good mask and custume." Henry scratches his chin. "Mereck! what do you think? instead of wearing black, He should wear a light color? Hmmm! Like a Pumpernel?? Not a clown But with black boots, A rainbow coled Pants and Jacket, White shirt, black gloves, Ruffle colar, a long cut wig, Black hat with a wide rim, A full face mask with large eye-holes. That should cover any ang all weapons that 'J'hark here will want to carry. Well what do you think??" ask the paladin to all, trying very hard to brake the ice of the suprise.
OOC; Deplomacy 32 (I hope this works, I don't want Jhark to hit Henry with those gloves!!)
Marek Isentomb Thursday December 22nd, 2005 2:08:29 PM
Marek nods to Beaowulf, "We'll do our best." When the child is brought out, his mood darkens almost to match the shadow creatures skin. "Damn" he more whispers than anything else. "OK now we got this, one question. Has any of 'hocus pocus boys determined how he got it and if it can be reversed. We talkin curse, affliction, communicable disease here or soul suckin? I assume he's the only speciman and that's why he ain't deasd yet"
Looking to his comrades in arms, "All right, we can almost asure ourselves that a shadow freak is gonna pop in on this party, So no one moves alone, no one moves without weapons and no one drinks."
The new guy drop his hood revealing a much stronger reptilian background than Marek was prepared for. Almost before he knows it, Marek finds his hand on the hilt of his sword, but old discipline leaps to action and he removes it just as quickly. Instead the soldier just scans Jhark up and down a bit more, taking in weaponry and armored defenses. After a few moments he nods, "Jhark, you're with Hank, I got Fern and Mykell you're with the saytr. All right, then eyes and ears open and into your dresses 'ladies'".
Hart Thursday December 22nd, 2005 3:59:32 PM
Hart smiles at Marek, glad he didn't use his name like the other might have.
"Hello." Says the druid.
Justin Webber (DM) Ball Talks Thursday December 22nd, 2005 9:00:00 PM
(OOC:Sorry everyone for the delay, Christmas around the corner and all I figure you all will understand.)
Mykell watches the new person as he reveals himself and simply shrugs as he himself is really foreign to these lands and then looks to Beowulf and the child brought out, "I too wish to know more if any more info is known. If this child can not be changed from his current state then I saddly say he should be destroyed before he can mature and who knows what comes then."
Mykell looks to the others knowing his comment might not be taken well but also hopes they each understand his comment from a warrior's thoughts. ----------------------------------------------- Beowulf looks to the gathered group and nods as he places a hand on the handle of his own sword, looking to the child as he ponders the questions given and then answers, "My wizards and clerics both have found no way of yet to change the child back. However the priests of Pelor have demanded the right to perform a exorcism on the child in hopes of driving the shadows from the child. I have agreed to this before I will ponder any other course of action. From what we know the shadows are part of him, mutated within the bow himself, something like a werewolf's bite. However where a werewolf only fully becomes one at the first fullmoon we believe this child is a shadow monster at this very moment and upon his infection."
Fabris looks to Beowulf and sighs before producing something from his belt pouch and holding out his open hand, "I'm sorry lord Beowulf but your wizard friend told me not to show this to you till the moment the Heralds were here so now I will. We found this black seed looking thing on the child. It is of no known species of tree, plant or anything known to any of us and magic is almost impossible to penetrate it. We have also found out that it does not break, however let me show you all something."
Fabris takes a clear glass of water and drops the seed into the glass.....shortly the seed slowly begins swirling and looks to of disolved, leaving the water looking clean yet, "Nothing still shows in the glass but a Beowulf's personal wizard tested in on a rat who experienced the same changes as the boy there."
(Jay, sorry about the email difficulty and the staff was a +1 darkwood staff of spell storing (2 spells, once released though amplified by two levels) and the other was +1 dragonhde armor (breast plate) with light fortifications)
Fern Thursday December 22nd, 2005 10:52:22 PM
Fern just stares at the child with tears in her eyes. "I hope that the priests can cure him."
loretta Thursday December 22nd, 2005 10:55:15 PM
could someone send an email with the final distribution of items, money, and the cash from the sold items?
Sir Henri Friday December 23rd, 2005 6:30:29 AM
When talks come down to fear of a child (no matter how he looks), Henri cannot halp but ask. "My Lord! Please! As you saw how the seed disapeadred in a glass of water, That must be how the child be came whta he is now, killing him is not the answer. Let My Farther and his cleric see what they can do. Maybe if you gave half of the contents of the glass to your wizaer and the other half to the clerics. They just might find a solution." The Paladin tries to give the child hope. Henri will go and stand next to 'J'hack and Merek, "I think that some one is using our people for they own army! If you ask me, We might be killing our oun people that way." Then the Paladin grows silent.
Hart Friday December 23rd, 2005 10:15:01 AM
As usual, Hart is tactless. "Perhaps the child shoould be put down." He says, while donning the new dragon armor.
(OOC: What sort of dragon is the armor made of Justin?)
Jhark Friday December 23rd, 2005 1:49:31 PM
Jhark watches the boy with a keen interest as the others talk. He can see some similarities to himself. "Thisss child mussst have a chance." He looks up to the top of the tent and then sighs as he knows what may need to be done. "Exhaussst all posssssibilitiessss before death." He has been pondering what the paladin, Henri he thinks its name was.
"I will ssstay with my robesss and cloak." He has no interest in dancing or getting to know anyone besides those that he will fight with. He does glance to Marek and gives him a reptilian smile that is accompanied with a nod of the head. "I am Jhark for thossse that did not ssspeak to me earlier...dessspite what you sssee, I am a wizard."
His attention is brought back to the water as the seed dissolves and is named the cause of the child's dilemma. "Depending on the darknesssss...it might be beyond any but the fatesss." He then steps back a little so that he is half hidden in the shadows. He does pull the hood of his robe back up to hide his features till he is needed in a different manner.
Sir Henri Monday December 26th, 2005 10:14:07 AM
The paladin watches every body's reactions, But when 'J'harkstart to slide into the shadows, Henri follows him reminding him the they are paired up in this party. "That means the we (US) watch the people and our backs! I'll be with you every minute. Safer that way."
Marek Isentomb Monday December 26th, 2005 8:31:45 PM
Marek just holds up his hand, conversation is going way past him and he was glad he really had nothing to do with any of the decisions about the child. "Doesn't change much as far as us being here. Eyes open folks"
To the water Marek looks to Beaouwulf "We're going to need to watch for that. Please tell me all food is in the same location?"
Hart Monday December 26th, 2005 10:44:01 PM
Hart truly doesn't want the child to suffer.
Sir Henri Tuesday December 27th, 2005 7:22:07 AM
The Paladin goes to 'J'hark side, speaks sofly to him. "You know that there's a nice red velvet cloak over there, just as roomy , Hmmm! maybe a little roomier tham the black on you have on right now! The velvet one would make you more invisalble that your black one in this ball. Not that your cloak does not make you invisable in the dark places, But there will be no dark places in this ball?? So we would have a, Oh! how do you say?? Oh! yes A Leg Up On Our Opponents!" Henri smiles at his friend,
Hart Wednesday December 28th, 2005 12:21:17 AM
Sigh.
Justin Webber (DM) Talks and Ball Again Wednesday December 28th, 2005 1:41:20 AM
(Jay: Dragonhide is of blue dragon scales.) (Everyone: I hope everyone had a very good Christmas and a great upcoming New Year. Sorry for the delay in the game.)
Mykell listens to the talks and nods before getting ready to head back out to the ball. ----------------------------------------------- Beowulf looks to everyone and nods, "The food is looked over carefully and my cooks are personally watching over the food and drinks that will be served."
Fabris looks to Beowulf and chuckles, "Sir, the food and drink is watched over better then you think. Servain your wizard friend and acolyte of the skin is in disquise of a normal cook and watching the food also."
Beowulf looks to the group and nods, "I would say that all you should get back out to the setting up of the ball, we talked long enough that the place should be more setup and getting really close to starting. Four of my personal guard will be standing watch also and they will stand out very much against the crowd. They are there primarly as a good show but are up to defending as well if anything happens. Either way lets wish this luck and hope everything goes well."
Sir Henri Wednesday December 28th, 2005 7:04:57 AM
As the word is given to move themselves and start their job, henri tells 'J'hark, "No time to change cloaks now, MATE! let us move out on to the dancing floor, do you think we should thae a look at the food,, Just to look over the crowd?"
Marek Isentomb Wednesday December 28th, 2005 10:27:36 AM
"If you say the food and drink are good, then we should not waste energy there m'lord. Let's keep our eyes to the crowd of guests then. It likely won't be a nobleman, they have taste testers, but look to thier enterage. And rtemember to stick together." Marek then looks at Fern, "Shall we mingle?"

Spirit is invited to the party by Hart. (cast this afternoon) He likes dancing.
"Ees there a reason to think the food is bad?" He askes Beowulf.
The druid wears his new armor and carries his new staff. These are his best 'clothes'. Loran sits atop the new staff, appraising it with his beak.
Hart becomes a wall-flower and avoids the dance, while examining a vase of cut flowers. Aftere hearing that the food might be tainted or whatever, he drinks cheap wine from his Everfull Chalice and eat from his own food stores.

Jkark smirks from under his heavy hood as there is not time to change clothes, not that he had planned on it anyways. He moves out with Sir Henri and picks a spot just a little ways from the dance floor and up a few steps. This angle gives him a better view of the room and puts him a little higher than the rest of the guests.
"The food and drink ssshould be fine...asss your man sssaid...the crowd isss the real problem." His eyes search for any odd behavior from anyone in the crowd as he tries to take in the whole room. Going over his spells he wonders if it would be wise to use one now to help out. He decides against it. "I guessssss that I will go with your group when you leave thisss party." It is more of a statement than a question, but it could be taken either way.

The druid maintains a position between Beowulf and the doors as the ball gets started. In his estimation, the guards look little more than hired thugs.
Spirit wanders the dance floor, looking up at any females present and offering his small hand to dance.
Loran would rather be hunting. Too many people around.
Hart is vigilant. (Listen 29, Spot 39)

Thae paladin smiles as he follows Jhark to the look out spot, He smiles at the people he knows, kissing a hand of a Lady or two. As him partner settles in a corner andstart scaning the room, Henri will stand a few feet in frount of him, Henri answers his new friend "I'm sure you'll be welcomed! no matter what back ground you might have." Henri turn to face his partner and smiles at him.

(OOC:Everyone I regret to say due to time and real life Sheggar has left the game which means I will be looking for a 8th player once more. I also would like to ask for a couple things of the players here. First please keep in mind I want all of you to bring up comments on the direction of the game, what I can do to keep you and your pc interested. I know right now the holdidays are kicking alot of people around and I do hope that each of us can be patient with posting etc till the Holidays are over. I also would like to ask since we need a 8th character again is there anything you see the group needing? I would like to try and make sure any week links in the group are filled.)
Mykell moves out and keeps an eye on some of the quests and such as he does his best to fit into whats going on. Not liking crowds alot though he also stays out of the way mainly. ----------------------------------------------- Those keeping a eye out see very little suspicious with the food, drink and the serving of it. Jhark does cetch one man with a bottle of dwarven ale trying to spike one of the punch bowls.
Noticeable now is the lanterns are still of since it is still light enough out to not need them yet. A group of bards have taken to the small erected stage and are performing some nice conversational music mainly as the people of the party just mingle.
most of the quest look normal enough except the wizard looking man in a black robe is still around and in this outfit, clearly he must not have no plans of changing to anything else.
Also there are a pair of men at the side of the crowd who look to be speaking rather quickly to one another and one of the men's face looks to be turning lightly red. Both men look to have a dagger on their person although the handle of one of the men's daggers looks more expensive in taste and closed hilt.
Jhark Thursday December 29th, 2005 10:10:42 PM
Jhark shakes his head as he lightly taps Henri on the shoulder. "Yonder." He points out the man that is attempting to spike the punch. He shakes his head again and sighs. "I doubt it isss anything bad...but." He leaves it hanging as he slips into the crowd to hopefully catch the man or at least get rid of the punch.

Will sweril her over to the bottle in question, once the paladin is near the offender. Henry will grab the bottle out of the offender hand, "Bad! Move! Sir! The Lord will not like adding wine to His Punch!"
Henri will releast the lady to another Dancer, but motioms Marek to come over.

The satyr rushes to Henri's aid at the punch bowl. "Paladin, should we kill him for this infraction? What was he doing?"
Marek Isentomb Friday December 30th, 2005 3:59:05 PM
Marek nods in Sir Henri's direction to acknowledge he see what is going on, but then gives a quick point to the crowd. Indicating he plans to stay where he is. They got it, but what about you fellas
"If you please Fern, Excuse us." Marek will say to the nobleman they are nearest to. The warrior leads Fern to the men with the daggers. not to engage in conversation but merely to take up residence in thier vacinity.
Sir Henri Saturday December 31st, 2005 6:36:50 AM
To the Satyr he tells him, "No my Friend, Just take the bottle to Marek. This gentelman was only trying to make things merrier,"
To the Man, Henri smiles then tells him "Sir! My Lord Beowulf has provided with the best of refreshments for all, No! need to make the Ladies merrier!" Henri bows then slowly returns to his post with Jhark. Henri whispers to him, "Nice job, my friend, I wish I had eyes that sharp!"
Fern Saturday December 31st, 2005 9:23:41 AM
Fern is nervous and worried that she will make some obvious mistakes. She has been standing near the wall and is obviously releived when Marek comes.

With Henri handling the man he slips through the crowd with practiced ease. Despite his height and dress it appears that very few even pay him any attention.
He slips back into his place on the stairs before Henri shows back up. He does laugh when Henri speaks of his eyesight. "Merely luck." He dismisses it as nothing special. He goes back over all those that he passed on the way back to see if he saw anything wrong, as he continues to scan the crowd. He feels restless and distracted as he tries to keep an eye on the party.

Justin Webber (DM) Ball Tuesday January 3rd, 2006 3:11:01 PM
(OOC:Okay everyone. Holdiday is officially over so I will be moving the game on regularly and hope you all will beable to keep up.)
Mykell watches the party yet, keeping to the side and mainly keeping a eye out for anything out of place and for people of his own kind, expecting to see some like him for some reason. ----------------------------------------------- The man trying to spike the punch looks almost like he will pass out when so many come to stop him and he stammers through a bunch of "ummms" "uhhs" and such before going back to the ball.
The ball continues normally but the heated discussion or fight maybe in one corner suddenly erupts worse though as the older of the two pulls his dagger and slashes at the younger man. The younger man takes a small cut and steps back before pulling his dagger, however as the dagger leaves the sheath his weapon is truely revealed as a rapier and he looks to the older man seriously before speaking loud enough for the others to hear, "Sir, speak dishonorably about myself or such again or raise that dagger at me once more and I shall run you through."
The dark robed man leans on a staff that he had leaning near by but less noticable at the time and simply watches the goings on while some of the other onlookers watch also.
Beowulf is in the middle of some nobles a small distance away so is clearly in no way able to do nothing about this growing fight.
Also behind the younger man with the rapier has began to sneak a group of three more men in which one makes a hand gesture towards the older man with the dagger.
Marek Isentomb d20+15=29 d20+5=24 Tuesday January 3rd, 2006 3:43:17 PM
Marek's long sword leaps to his hand and in 2 quick strides, he arrives bewtween the two. His long sword snaps powerfully out with the precision of a master batting the lighter weapon high and away. [Hit AC 29]
"Sheathe it!" His voice loud and commanding. [Intimidate 24] Maintaining a tone of complete command, but not as loud. "This gathering is under lord Beouwulf's command and my protection as such."
Marek's off weapon hand flicks to the thick warhammer at his other side, "The rest of you will cease as well." His eyes do not remain locked on the man in front of him, but rather they skip just over his shoulder to the other three.
Fern Wednesday January 4th, 2006 2:26:33 AM
Fern hasnt been paying attention (to worried that she will obviously look like an outsider) but when the fight begins and Marek goes to stop it she decides to use the nobility's code of ethics to their advantage and steps between the two men. If either of the men wish to fight they will probably injure an innocent woman, very bad conduct.
Sir Henri Wednesday January 4th, 2006 7:25:00 AM
"Keep watching for more trouble, Jhark. I'll go help Fern." then the paladin will goes and stand behind the two men, that Fern is standing in frount of.
To make himself known, he tells then "Hell Patrons! Your not going to start any trouble when there is a Lady in frount of you? Are You?" at this point Henri unsheat his sword (whith a loud noise).

Jhark simply nods to Henri as his eyes continue to scan the crowd. He has a strange itching feeling that this maybe a cover for something else. Then again it might just be a noble dispute. He cares little if a pair of nobles carve themselves for dinner or not. "Pitiful." His only comment as he shakes his hooded head.

Mykell moves over to where all the argueing and fight is starting and smiles to himself hearing Hart's comment and speaks to his Satyr friend, "Actually I believe this happens rarely but still often enough to not make them uncommon. Usually over a female, politics, etc."
Mykell moves his hand to his katana and sheath at his waist just incase. ----------------------------------------------- The older man who holds the dagger glares at Marek and Henri when he steps in also and does not look like he will back down easily, "This man deserves what the lesson I will teach him."
The younger man pops the point of his rapier into the dirt but keeps his hand on the hilt as he replies simply, "It's not my fault that your fair lady would prefer to dance with me then you. As it is where is she anyway? I suppose your hiding her or something."
The oler man seems to get more upset at this but he does not move, however one of the men moving in behind the younger man sends a fist flying out at the younger man's side, connecting quite nicely as it knocks the air from the young man's lungs since he wasn't expecting such a attack. However keeping his wits about him the young man does dive to the side as he gasps for air.
Clearly the fight is going to continue, however maybe alittle less lethal then expected.

Henri (who was stamding behind the two Brainless Wonders) hit the thug (who hit the young man in the ribs) with the edge of his gloved hand ((a Rabbit Punch) it will not kill him, but send him to his knees, seeing stars). With his shoulder, he'll will shoved (Thug #2) off balance, for a moment or two.
Now the Paladin is in fighting stance, with sword in hand. He smiles and tells Fern "Your Turn!My Lady!" watching the older of the gentelman (who brought the two Brainless Wonders in fhe first place.)

The satyr is confused. He doesn't get the fighting and arguing. Weren't these people here to celebrate and talk of their riches and land? From his higher vantage he hopes to spot anything that does not look to be right. People moving in the wrong direction or someone reeking of evil intent. Still he cannot stop from looking to the fight that is about to break out.

Marek lowers his blade as the rapier is lowered. Time to seperate some 'nobility' Marek shoots the younger man a look, a withering 'do something stupid and I'll break you in two' look and then promptly fully turns to face the elder of the pair.
"M'lord, if you would please come with me to a few feet further away. I would like this settled much less publically." Marek gives a nod in the direction he wishes the man to go and puts one hand on his shoulder and the other gestures away as well.
"Hank, seperate our young casanova there from those other three. Saytr, If any of the others do something unpleasant, you continue that last thought."

Henri takes the young gentelmen off to the side of the room and away from Lord Papa. "Now wait here and don't go back. The Farther has more money than you have, and the friends to go with it. The older man frowns as he picks himself up from the ground and motions his men down, "Wait! where is my wife you cur?"
The young man shrugs and looks to the group and the older man, "I do not know, I figured you had kept her locked up in a tent. If you have done something with her then so help me."

Marek turns and takes the younger noble by his arm. "Fern, you and the druid move about the perimeter and look for a trail where Mr. Black may have gone and if and when you find it, send word to that tent over there." Marek points with his other hand.
Marek then starts leading the noble away towards the indicated tent. "Hank, escort our other antagonist with us please. I think some private time is in order."

In the tent it is quiet other then the two nobles scowling at each other.

Mykell moves with the others to the tent and watches as Marek does his interogating of the two nobles. He moves over and speaks gently to his friend and quiet enough as for the nobles not the hear, "Becareful my friend, remember we should try and be atleast alittle nice." ----------------------------------------------- Those tracking find no trace of the black robed wizard, there is no sign at all of any person of the wizard's type having left the clearing at all. However there are two sets of tracks leaving the clearing. One set is a group of three people, two being a female foot prints and the last being a male.
The second track is more interesting as it looks to be quite afew men have moved in this direction, around 10 as far as you can tell since the tracks are all mushed so they evidently were moving together.
Inside the tent the young noble is very calm through everything but Marek can tell he is not holding back anything or has anything to do with any of this, "Listen my good sir. I asked the fair lady to dance with me tonight and she agreed, I had no idea of her...hmmm...being married to that well...person over there till now. I know nothing of anything else you speak of."
The older man looks to be hiding something though as he stammers about and then growls, "I do not know anything either." clearly the older man is not going to confess anything easily or maybe he is hiding something less harming but yet sensitive to his station as a noble.

Fern and Henri serches for a little while longer, when they come across some intresting boot prints, "Look here, Fern! what would a bunch of men want in that direction? How many do you think are in this party? Twenty or twenty five?" Henri ask Fern.
Marek Isentomb Tuesday January 17th, 2006 10:42:45 AM
Marek goes over what the pair has to say a couple times, mostly tomake sure he has it straight. During one repoeat, Mykell leans in and Marek stops to listen and shortly whispers back "I thought I was?" he then turns back to the pair, "OK one last time." he runs through it again. Marek finishes with, "Sir, we will do our best to get to the bottom of her apparent disappearence, with the rest. You two are on your own. But I caution you, do not draw steel again here. There are certain codes of conduct I and everyone else expects. Personal duels should be conducted tomorrow after all have a good nights rest." Marek turns to depart, "C'mon Mykell. See if the others found anything." and he briskly exits the tent.
Marek quickly moves to Jhark, "Keep watch, I'm going to check Fern and 'Horns' for what they got. Mykell fan into the crowd and keep your ears and eyes open."
Getting to Fern and Hart, "So what have we got?" A quick summation follows, "That good huh, Think he might of 'ported out with her? and why her? Somethings not right, smells all bad."

Would explain the two female and one male pair, though it also means the noblewoman went willing and well..." Marek lets the thought hang and then jumps subjects.
"Not our problem. We are here to keep the party peaceful and rub shoulders with the lords. Far as I'm concerned, currently all we have is that a few people left. Til any of you can come up with more than that." Marek lets it drop and moves back among the guests.

Just as Marek turns to go though the group of three come out of where they left. The two females are giggling and the young noble has a very goofy looking grin on his face.
However in the other direction something else can be heard quite clearly, the clash of steel on steel.
Jhark and Mykell back at the party are treated to a different act of events as during a dance a haze of light appears and the dark robed wizard steps out and then starts to go about like nothing happened. However some quests look to be moving towards Beowulf more now.

Mykell decides that this doesn't look good after all and slides his katana free from it's sheath and looks to the others, "If any of them show as a real threat then I'm not holding back." ----------------------------------------------- (Marek&Fern down path and in clearing) Marek and Fern move down the wooded trail that the feet of many men has made and finally come to a clearing where only small bushes line the area making it a very open area so sneaking in will be rather hard.
In the clearing Marek and Fern see a group of 12 Beowulf guards fighting hard against a pair of men. The two men wear full black outfits, one uses a pair of shortswords in rapid movements and very skilled. The other man is fully armored in heavy armor with a buckler strapped to his arm but has a spear he is using with great skill. These two black clad warriors are no one that Marek or Fern has seen before but their origions become known quickly as the spear user spins his spear, leveling it quickly and a dark aura surrounds him as he launches a nasty attack, the spear head moving in 5 quick jabs and each wound given to the guard the spear user fights seems to literally tear open and puss already starts to run and the man looks weakened severely.
The twin shortsword user grins and speaks to his friend, "Good show chap, my turn now." The man's swords glow black now also and he spins into a quick attack, his shortsword slashing through the guard he fight's armor before both swords slash in a X, taking the guard's head off and to finish it the shortsword user does a quick spin and with a final kick the head goes flying across the clearing.
(Others at Ball) Henri, Jhark, Hart and Mykell prepare for the incoming crowd of people. The black robed wizard however still stands in the crowd not advancing which he really looks to have no part in this. However those moving in now shrug off their long cloaks and their skin slowly darken and each one grows slight black claws as they look to the group before them. One of them speaks out, he looks to be the oldest of the group and the most noble looking, "Step aside and let us have Beowulf and we will spare you, we only want Beowulf and the other nobles."
The people from Mykell's homeland now also break into action and each pull a short looking sword of oriental design and one also pulls out a blow gun and prepares a dart, "Seems like you all should give up or prepare to die. No worries, we'll make sure you die squeeling."
There are 8 dark looking men close to the group. About 12ft away total. There are 8 people from Mykell's homeland also but they are 30ft away from the group.

In the Clearing (Marek and Fern.) Marek moves in and tries to flank the spear user but finds the man is kind of hard to flank with some of Beowulf's guards in the way yet and since the man is slightly covered also by the twin sword user.
Fern is in position to fire a arrow at both men and lets a arrow rip at both. However she is disappointed to find both her arrows miss either man. However her first shot came rather close.
The guards also press their attacks but to no avail either as the two trained men seem to be just out classing Beowulf's guards.
The spear user chuckles as he notices Marek and turns to face him fully, "Well now a challege per chance? Show me what you have sir." A darkness boils in the spear users eyes, a darkness that Marek can just feel shows he is a Seeker of Darkness and no normal enemy. The spear user slams his spear butt first toe the ground and slams his free hand over his chest, grinning as a dark aura erupts for a moment around him, "You get first shot little man."
The twin sword user ignores Marek and dashes towards Fern, dropping into a roll which brings him up a short distance from where she is but not in combat range. However the man grins as he raises his swords in a X over his head and growls out a couple words, "Dark Flash" he ends this with a spin, dropping to one knee, the spin done with his swords held out in like a whirlwind motion. With these words and movements a dark wave erupts around the twin sword user and radiates out 20ft in all direction. The wave slams into Beowulf's guards and fling them all across the clearing as their armor smoke and glow black for a moment before each lays still, either dead or knocked out. (Fern and Marek make Reflex DC:18 or be blasted with pure dark energy. If hit you take 15 damage, if you pass you take 7.)
At the Ball (Hart, Henri, Jhark and Mykell) The group readies to defend Beowulf. Jhark releases a spell to help himself and friends, also Hart fires off a call lightning spell.
It's not stormy outside but a lightning bolt slams down on the speaker of the dark people, injuring him some.
Seeing that the group is not going to just let them through the dark people move in quicker then could be expected.
Three of the dark ones move in on Henri, evidently not happy about his comments on not letting them get Beowulf and all three of them slash at him, one even jumping and lashing out. (Can hit AC:17/18/14 Damage:7/7/10)

Marek's eyes narrow as the aura covers his would be opponent. He was not liking this at all. Not for the challenge, but the stakes were higher than his self pride and sense of excitement. A side check towards Fern and then the black wave rips in from the short sword weilder. Marek spins with the wave on the ball of his left foot and arrives in precisely the same place and stance.
Marek moves in with a quick two step and cuts off to his right. The long sword across his body and the tip pointed to draw a line across the mans chest. The blade however is mis placed and passes by harmlessly. As Marek contiues by his next step launches him into a diving roll and then a pair of handsprings. A half tuck and he lands facing his choosen opponent, sword at the ready just over 20' away.

Fern stumbles a bit as she's hit by the flash, but seems to easily shrug it off. then for a moment it seems like her body glows (activate diamond body) right before she shoots at the guy facing her.
Mykell seeing the enemy move in on them Mykell breaks into action, thankful that his armor protected him good enough that none of the attacks land on him. He slashes with his katana quickly and his sheath once to the katana's twice, working quickly as he also wonders how Fern and Marek are fairing. (Can hit AC:19/25 &15 Damage:11/16 &8) ----------------------------------------------- Marek makes a defensive attack while moving, able to dodge the blunt of the shortsword users wave as he does. The attack though from Marek goes harmlessly wide though as he ends his attack.
Fern takes the dark aura blow also from the shortsword user but also is able to avoid the blunt of it. She activates her spell ability and also fires off three arrows at the shortsword user. Happy to see also that all but one of her arrows hit squarely also and the ones even looking to hit worse as it bleeds alittle more.
The spear user looks to Marek and chuckles as he reaches up and slams the face vizor on his helmet down and speaks before moving in, "Well, how boring, no challenge so far but do you get better my new nemesis." The spear user steps in quickly, spinning some and stabbing at Marek in a side like thrust and the shifting his grip and quickly launching a pair of quick thrusts again. (Can hit AC:13/17/11 Damage:miss/miss/miss)
The shortsword user looks to Fern and chuckles even with the arrows stuck in him, "Well, alittle more chellenging then I thought but lets see if you can continue to keep up." The shortsword user steps forward quickly and slashes at Fern with both his shortsword, his first shortsword stabbing in for a second attack. (Can hit AC:13/27 &25 Damage:miss/10/miss)
Spear User: AC:28 uninjured Shortsword User: AC:26 barely injured ----------------------------------------------- Henri launches a attack at two of the darkies attacking him but succeeds in only hitting the one infront of him. The wound is nice but looks like it did little more then tick the thing off.
Jhark attacks the enemies attacking him and only lands one blow also. The blow lands solidly but still doesn't look to hurt it alot.
Hart puts his dagger away and swings at the darky attacking him. Hart succeeds in slamming his staff home on the darky but once again it wasn't enough to do much but make it mad for now. (I believe call lightning strikes for so many rounds? If so then please let me know what enemy per round counting the previous one.)
Mykell swings his katana and sheath at his enemies, concentrating on one but to his dismay is only able to land one nice katana cut which does little more then make the thing mad.
The three dark ones attacking Henri press their attack on him once again. Each slashing at him with one hand, their black claws sharp and ready. (Can hit AC:22/27/12 Damage:10/12/miss)
The pair of dark ones attacking Mykell also press their attack on him. (Can hit AC:18/29 Damage:miss/10)
The pait of dark ones attacking Jhark press their attack also. The one looking upset from the blow yet. (Can hit AC:28/24 Damage:8/miss)
The single dark one attacking Hart slashes quickly at him also, this one however aiming for Hart's leg more then anywhere else. (Can hit AC:22 Damage:Miss)
Beowulf now having got his guards to back off and protect the crowd has removed a hat which once removed shows him in complete battle armor now and quickly takes to the field, pulling his legendary sword on the way. As he moves out he side steps and slashes quickly at one of the attackers on Henri. Beowulf's movements are quicker then expected and a total of four attacks is seen made before he tosses his sword up and grabs it underhands, spinning and slashing the dark one across the waist where as he adjust the sword back to a normal hold the dark one slowly slides apart, the fifth blow cutting it cleanly in two at the waist. Beowulf looks severely upset as he reguards the dark ones and then the assassins, "You interupt my ball, you come seeking blood and my guests. I decide now that not only will my faithful friends here take to the battle field but you face me also. I tire of the sidelines."

After Beowulf talks a shadow ripples to the side of the ball area and out of no where it seems like a man in heavy armor steps out and he slowly looks over the crowd before looking to Beowulf, "If your tired of the sidelines the come and engage me dear freind. I'm sure these....well...retainers for no better word can handle those about me but they will not stand before me, not even together." The man lifts a hand which a pitch black glowing sword slides from it's sheath at his side and floats to his hand where he grasps it...red eyes also glare from the slits in the helmet the man wears and he is black armored from head to toe, infact he looks to radiate darkness itself.
Beowulf looks to the group now and nods, "Do not engage that man and leave him to me. That is Gimblus and far out of your league right now."
Someone else finally comes into play at this moment. The wizard wearing black robes steps out near the black armored man and holds a bone carved staff which now glows and he chants quickly, the words a form that only Hart would know as the speach of the forest, but one of old...one of the darker side of nature, the destructive and death of nature. As the man finishes his words he speaks quickly before continuing his chanting, "I am Lord Krell, advisor to one of the major cities in this area. I will now allow you to harm anyone here. I drain your powers as much as I can."
(Hart can do a Knowledge Nature or lore, etc check to remember the language fully and also to remember tails said of the spell Krell is using. DC:20. I'll give info if you pass.)

Marek is a bit stunned when his opponent not only crosses the intervening 25' of ground, but then in a blur of motion, swings at him three times. Marek, though, is well trained and his sword expertly picks off each attack. The ring of steel on steel echoes across the small glade.
Marek quickly shifts to a more offensive posture, having a better judge of his opponents' skill. A feint low followed by a quick point thrust, however, merely carenes off his opponents armor. Marek follows the first attack with a broad chest level sweep to put the man to his heels slightly and to allow Marek to regain his defensive position.
Marek's face shows nothing but concentration, the opponent can clearly see, there will be no idle banter coming from this warrior.

(Can hit AC:27/26/10/17/14 Damage:9/15) ----------------------------------------------- The groups continue to press their attacks on their foes as they fight for their lives and the people at the ball.
Marek slashes his sword at the spear user he faces and each time the blade just clangs on the heavy armor the man wears.
Fern fires more arrows at her foe also and is happy to see two more arrows hammer into him but still the man looks only alittle injured.
The spear user chuckles some and swings his spear in a ripping stab motion at Marek and then rams it forward at him again as he speaks, "Ahh, the strong silent type huh. Well, let our weapons speak for us then." The attacks the spear user makes also feel like their being pulled some, like the man doesn't want Marek to see his full stregnth or he is playing with him. (Can hit AC:21/13/5 Damage:miss all times)
The shortsword user also presses his attack once more on Fern. His shortswords working well in usison but yet they miss her. Fern to also feels her enemy is pulling his hits some. Henri slashes once at both the darky's fighting him and scores a nice hit to both. The darky's look more injured but not going down yet. (The darky's are changed humans and not lizards Ceil. Just wanted to clearafy.)
Jhark presses his attack and slams three nice punches home on his enemy. He is happy to see the darky fall to the ground, not dead but out of it none the less as it doesn't look consious.

Beowulf moves in on Gimblus and they meet each other with sword slashing on sword. Both men launch deadly attacks at the other but both seem to know exactly how to defend from the other as their weapons move to block or they move just in time to keep from being hit.

Marek's style remains precisely as before. Steady, calculating and planned. Marek knows a pulled punch when he sees it, overconfidence, hopefully I can use that Marek turns left, presenting his weapon to the fore and quickly snaps it across any thrust from the spear. (OOC:I will email you sometime tomorrow Jay with some info on the game and a part I would like you to run. You mind doing a small bit of combat?)
Mykell presses his attacks on the single darky attacking him and is happy to score a couple of hits on it as he glances to the others. (Can hit AC:30/14/18/20/28 Damage:9/miss/miss/miss/9) ----------------------------------------------- Marek presses his attack on the spear user and succeeds in hitting a single hit on the man. The spear user though simply gives a some what salute to Marek over the hit before readying himself again.
Fern fires off more arrows, two of which hit nicely.
Both the spear user and twin sword user takes a step back and the spear user nods to Marek, "Well, we have held you off long enough I believe so we both shall bid you farewell for now. I do hope our paths cross again for this was less then exciting." With this said a shadow gate opens behind both and they both quickly step into it, there after it closes up.
Jhark slams one good hit home out of his series of attacks and his darky wobbles alittle bit is still standing.
Hart calls another bolt down on the darky attacking him and watches as it falls to the ground twitching from the electric shock.
Henri slashes at his enemies again and injures the one more but drops the other quite dead.
Mykell presses his attack and injures the one on him more.
The assassins move in more now as they ready melee weapons.
Beowulf and Gimblus still are having a fight to the death but neither seem to beable to land a decent blow on the other.

With two Enermy out of the picture, Henri faces the only one stsnding. He is tireing from his wounds, the sweat now mixes with his blood. But he will not show weakness. On his way, Marek pulls a Cure Light potion and downs it. [9]
Fern Thursday February 9th, 2006 6:36:03 AM
Fern starts to chase after the dark men, but gives up when the gate slams shut in her face. She then turns around and yells at the guards "Back to the dance at once!" as she sprints along the path.

Jhark finds that he is enjoying himself with this little bit of excitement. The reptilian smile upon his face does not help though as you cannot tell if he is having fun or looking to eat you. Once again he sends out a series of slashing claw attachs upon his darky with renewed energy as he sees his wobble.

(OOC:Jay, email will be coming and just a small comment. I have no map for this combat at the moment so we will have to see about that.)
Mykell slashes at the darky still ataccking him and watches the assassins from his own homeland moving in and calls out to the group a quick warning, "Assassins from where I come from often use poison so be weary of their weapons my friends."
(Can hit AC:19/15/18/19 Damage:all misses) ----------------------------------------------- (OOC:Keeping enemy and player movements simple this round considering.)
Everyone succeeds in dropping the last darky attacking them except Mykell who seems to not beable to land a blow this round.
Hart calls lightning at Gimblus which he is happy to see hits him but however causes a small newer problem called Gimblus has just turned his red eyes towards him now instead of Beowulf. (Hart notices the the grass in the area isn't very tall at all considering it was trimmed down for the ball to be held but there is alot of it.)
Fern and Marek make it far enough (running full steam) to reach the tents and just beyond them they see the dead darky's the group fought and killed except the one fighting Mykell. They also see Gimblus and the 8 assassins from Mykell's homeland.
The assassins move in the rest of the way now and press their attacks on the group.
Two assassins move in on Jhark and move with amazing speed and quick slashes. (Can hit AC:20/27/19/11 Damage:miss all)
Two assassins also move in on Henri, their attacks are much like the ones on Jhark except one wields a kama instead of a sword. (Can hit AC:14/31/17/23 Damage:miss/11/miss/12 Make Fort check DC:16)
One assassin moves in on Mykell and attacks him. (Can hit AC:23/10 Damage:miss/miss)
The remaining assassins move in on Beowulf and press their attacks on him. Beowulf does take a single wound but fights back just as strongly as he did against Gimblus.
Gimblus having been hit by Hart vanishes for a moment and reappears infront of Hart. Gimblus dwarfs Hart in size by atleast a foot and the small of brimestone seems to radiate from him. His sword also is black as night along with his armor and both look to be forged from the shadows itself. Looking down on Hart he speaks in a rough tone, "You hit me so I think it is only fair I return the favor. Pray to your maker young one." Gimblus raises his sword in a salute like gesture, more teasing before launching a quick 4 strike attack. (Can hit AC:39/28/33/23 Damage:20/18/17/miss)
Near where Henri, Mykell and Jhark fight a man steps out and pulls a symbol of St. Cuthburt and speaks quickly, "I am not a warrior speacially since I have no weapon by my lord has granted on me healing knowledge, speak and I will cure you to the best of my ability."

The druid stands his ground, regardless of the fact his opponent is 100 times the warrior... perhaps Beowulf will have time to retreat.

Jhark with amazing speed and dexterity, easy moves out of the way of all the attacks thrown at him by the assassins. Only one attack even comes close to him and he hisses in laughter. "Thisss isss the bessst you can do?" It is part taunt and part jest as he does not really want them to get better but he does like a challange. The first assassin that approached him becomes his true focus as he fires off a series of three quick slashes at the assassin.

Mykell presses his attack on the remaining darky attacking him and ignores the assassin from his homeland. However he once again finds his blade or sheath able to land a solid blow. ----------------------------------------------- Marek changes course in his run to aid his friend and charges right at Gimblus. He rams into the tall fighter hard but finds his ram into him to be like slamming into a very large and powerful brick wall. The man almost wobbles alittle from the blow but not enough to make him fall over or the sort.
Hart lashes out at Gimblus with another bolt of lightning from his call lightning spell and scores another hit on the man/demon.
Mykell presses his attacks on the darky and finds once more the creature is just to fast for his attacks.
Fern stops and fires off arrows at one of the assassins attacking Beowulf and is able to score a hit with her first two arrows.
Henri moves to help cover Hart also.
Jhark launches his attacks at one of his assassin attackers and lands the first two also and is happy to see the man staggered alittle but still standing.
The priest quickly waves his holy symbol in the air and chants before releasing his spell. A powerful healing aura surrounds each party member, healing them for 28 hit points.
The remaining darky presses it's attack on Mykell as does the single assassin attacking him also. (Can hit AC:25/18/22 Damage:9/miss/miss)
The assassins attacking Beowulf press their attacks also but find that Beowulf is still capable of fending himself against them.
The two assassins attacking Jhark double their efforts on the man as their blades move in flashes. (Can hit AC:30/8/24/10 Damage:10/miss/miss/miss)
The two assassins who were attacking Henri move to aid Gimblus with the problem of Marek. Slashing at the man after he has slammed into Gimblus. (Can hit AC:15/23/31/9 Damage:miss/miss/11/miss/miss)
Gimblus points a gauntleted black finger at Hart and also at the others as he laughs, "Ohh how dearly amuzing you all are, so weak to my powers. I could squish you all like bugs but for now I must part from this little.....hmm, amusment I guess and let my friends handle you." A black portal begins to form under his feet but before he sinks into it a deadly thrust of a new sword that appears in his hand goes at Marek. (Can hit AC:48 *crit:39* Damage:18 *crit:17*=35) After the attack Gimblus lets go of the red looking longsword that he thrusted into Marek and sinks into the portal, leaving the sword stabbed in Marek.

Gimblus's sword rips through Marek defenses as if he were a novice and the blad cuts deep into his lower abdemon. Two of the would be assassins also rush him and the blood loss slows his parries, allowing a single thrust through. Blood flows from the deep would and with a grunt, Marek bats one of the assassins blades left and thrusts hard. A quick dip and Marek rolls his longsword over and cuts with a downward slash. Beowulf still holds his own and in a flurry of attacks is able to drop one of the assassins attacking him.

Mykell slashes at the assassin attacking him again and is happy to atleast land a sheath blow even if his katana misses both times. (Can hit AC:14/23/25 Damage:miss/miss/10) ----------------------------------------------- The group presses their attacks once more and Hart, Henri and Marek is happy to see the one badly injured assassin go down.
Jhark attacks the assassin he was attacking before and is happy to find that he badly injures the one.
Mykell slashes and bashes at his assassin and is able to land a single blow with his sheath.
Fern fires some arrows at the assassin who attacks her and is able to hit it one, doing a nice clean wound to it.
One of the assassins quickly makes a hand gesture and you see each assassin pull out a small eggshell looking object and slam it into the ground which causes a puff of black smoke in the air. You hear and see nothing after this other then a single voice speak out, "This is not the last you will see of us. You shall see."
When the smoke clears the assassins, the dead bodies of the assassins and even the darkies have vanished from the area leaving only your wounds as a nasty reminder of the encounter.
Beowulf sheathes his sword and begins inspecting a wound before turning to the people gathered and waves his hands quickly, "Ladies and gentleman, please calm yourselves. As you can see I have the best bodyguards you could want here to handle any problems and ask you all to please calm yourselves and let us go back to our ball. We must not let this attack change what we have come here for."
Beowulf looks to the group and makes a quick motion towards the nearest tent. You also notice now that the black robed wizard from before has moves abit closer to the group and nods to you all, "I assume I was or am under speculation of this. I shall go to your meeting with Beowulf."
The priest with the holy symbol of St. Cutherbert also steps down and smiles, "I wish to go with you also so I can see to your wounds. I believe some of you have been wounded pretty badly."
Noteably the one thing left is the glowing red sword that Gimblus had stabbed into Marek before vanishing.

Marek Isentomb AC 30 HP 27-73 Monday February 20th, 2006 9:42:51 AM
Marek lets the others attend to the bodies and such he has a small pressing matter, that of a sword sticking out of him. Normally he would just pull the blade free with a single quick stroke, but this was not a normal blade and thus he was seeking some advise and or help. First stop, the cleric of ST Cuthbert that showed up. "If you have a minute I have an issue."
Hart Monday February 20th, 2006 10:25:19 AM
After a second or two detecting magic, the druid realizes he's hurt more than he knew. Hart looks worse than ever. He's actually showing emotion at this much pain. "That sword was true. I believe I am dying." He says gravely.
Sir Henri d8+12=17 Monday February 20th, 2006 1:08:41 PM
As Sir Henri head for the cleric to get cured, he hears the heart saying the he's dying. The paladin turn on his heels, goes to the satyr, picks him up in his arms "Telling him "Oh! No You don't, who else is going to keep mu ego in line? if your not around." They both head for the clerics.
The Paladin will heal his friend while he is in his arms.
Henri heals heart for 17hp.
Justin Webber (DM) Healing and talks Tuesday February 21st, 2006 12:03:07 AM
The group moves to the Cleric of St. Cuthbert who looks over everyone before attending the worse hurt of the group first, "One min all I believe this tall soldier boy here and the horned one need my attention first."
The cleric first attends Hart, looking him over before nodding and casting a cure serious wounds spell on him twice (both spells are at max healing so 39x2=78) He nods afterwards, "If you still feel like something is amiss then please let me know."
The cleric now moves to Marek and the black robed wizard does also and looks over the sword and Marek both before the wizard speaks first, "This is a interesting weapon called a blood sword. We must remove it quickly and you must start healing him before the wound gets even worse."
The wizard grips the sword and quickly yanks it out as the cleric casts his healing spells on Marek also, curing him of 78 hit points also.
After this the wizard inspects the sword in the corner of the tent while the cleric fusses over the rest of you, healing you with a wand now to save his energy. (everyone is healed to full power.)
Beowuld waits paitently while checking his own wound, amazingly his wound slowly closes on it's own and afterwards he sighs and looks to the group, "The ball should be going on okay outside but we need to talk before we attend it again. I would like info on all that has happened. I seen the changed people attack only after getting away from some polictical talks and then the assassins joined in. I also noticed that some of my guards have not returned and two of you were missing for part of the fight. I wish to know all details so we can get a acurate idea of what has happened so far and see if this was just some type of test before the true storm."
Beowulf also looks to Marek, Hart and the others, "You have also seen the power that Gimblus has now. As you know you all must gain in power if you plan to ever face him and he isn't even full demon yet. I like to take this moment to explain that this is why for all the lower missions leading up to the big fight to end all this. Till you are ready to take the fight truely to them we must go about it slowly. I don't think any of you doubt now that Gimblus alone, let alone with his generals who you know as the Seekers of Darkness, he could of leveled us here tonight."
Sir Henri Tuesday February 21st, 2006 6:55:36 AM
Sir Henri after bringing Hart to the Cleric, making sure that He is better and his old insulting self again, Henri whispers to him "I'm happy to see back with us again, I carried you in here, now that your all better I must tell you, YOU eat toomuch Your heavy!" the paladin smiles at the little Big Horn.
Then Henri stands aside, to let the rest of the party go first (Marek first then Fern, J'kark, then Mykell. Before he would let any of the healers touch him.
"See To Lord Beowulf, he also had taken a beating, as for I will go last, I'm not that hurt, I healed myself as I was comming here." If the healers are as good as their reputations are! They'll Know that the paladin was not tell the trouth.
To Beowulf he Tells him, "We knew that the Ball was not for us. To me it was no suprise the a demon of his rank was sent to kill not only you My Lord, but us also?? When we can back from being trained By the Dragons and the fighting Clerics, that gave us these special weapons. We knew that the demons that we are to meet were going for our heads. The Stronger the Demons get, I figure the Closer to their End We Will Be?. As for tonight that Demon left early, not because He wanted to, But because He was called, He was losing too many men in this fight. That's why that child was turning into a lizard, I'm afraid you'll find more children that way. I hope my farther can find a cure for those children."

Marek Isentomb Tuesday February 21st, 2006 3:55:00 PM
Marek sets his face as the wizard warps his hands about the sword and then with a nod the blade is pulled free. A single sharp intake of air is all that marks the exit of the blade. Even as the clreic casts the first spell Marek is moving to stand. The fact that the enemy's more powerful commanders showed up and didn't finish the job had the fighter a bit puzzled and worried at the same time.
Later in a meeting with beaowulf, the legend confirms it and disturbs him even more. "It makes no sense. Gimblus and the others can't be that arrogant or dumb. Why attack, what was the objective and why leave a fight you are winning?" Looking to Beowulf directly now, "Fern and I were tracking a group that looked to have departed following a small incident and apparent disappearence of a noble woman. We came upon 10 of the guard battling two, likely commnaders of the darkness. Some sort of eldritch blast levelled the others and Fern and I engaged. The fight was pretty even and they rabbitted. We arrived here to find Gimblus and the others engaged and Mykell's good countrymen taking full advantage of the whole thing."
Marek snags a wine bottle and takes a drink. Pausing, he gives the ground a small kick and mutters to himself as he paces "Why stop the attack? If killing us was not the goal, what? What, what, what?" The man stops his pacing and mumblings, dropping his head back to stare upwards, he lets out a long breath; lost in thought.
Jhark Tuesday February 21st, 2006 7:38:23 PM
Jhark accepts the healing with only a nod of his head. He is also pondering the events of the last few hours.
With a look to Marek he can only shrug and give out his own thoughts. "It isss posssible that he wasss after sssomething elssse...maybe thisss misssing woman." With another thought he gives a hiss of anger. "Or maybe he wasss tesssting hisss creationsss." There are a lot of possibilities but none of them could be taken as the true motive.

Beowulf takes in all the info that is given before nodding and sitting down as he ponders it, speaking after a few long moments, "My opinion is he was seeing how these creations of his works since we have never encountered these dark looking people before now. Also I do believe he was testing all of you or maybe even trying to scare all of you off since now you know more of what you face and how strong he is compared to you."
Beowulf looks to the group before standing and smiling, "I will speak to my guards to keep an eye out for this missing girl also and you all should be on lookout for her also. Keep close to the ball though, I'm worried that there is more to this or coming then we have seen so far. I at this moment expect you to run a search of all the tents outside the ball area. All the major tents near the ball is food and such tents and anyone being hidden or kept there would be noticed. Keep your ears and eyes open for anything and do not hesitate on questioning anything out of the ordinary."

The druid also turns to Marek, waiting for a response from Henri's question.
Marek Isentomb Friday February 24th, 2006 1:04:56 PM
Marek slowly lowers his gaze and then seems to notice Henri and Hart essentially staring at him. He looks at them both back and then just tosses his hands in the air, "We start moving through the outer tents I guess. Given our enemy can appear and dissappear seemingly at will and across distance though. We stick together this time. C'mon indians."
Marek exits the tent and heads towards the outer area of pavillions. No illusions to what is going on, the warrior has his long sword in one hand and his War Hammer in the other.
Hart Friday February 24th, 2006 5:02:38 PM

Marek stops short of the 3 men at the tent. I'm gonna get flak about orders the grim thought rolls quickly through his mind and he puts it aside.
Marek puts on his official voice. The tone is not barking or condesending, but steady and even. The Warhammer and sword both go to thier respective places and marek snaps a quick salute. "I am here by orders of Lord Beaowulf to search this and all other tents set within his protection at this function."
Marek stands and awaits the men at arms' response.

Jhark d20+7=27 d20+7=15 d20+7=20 Wednesday March 8th, 2006 2:50:28 PM
Jhark was ready for the battle when it started but does not feel like closing to melee range this time around. As he smiles his voice rings out in draconic and his left hand moves through a series of gestures. As energy is drawn from his very being to fuel his spell his smile only widens before its release.

Not sure how many checks you would need Jay. Figured three altogether for the enlarge...if it was a spell.
Fight, fight, fight (ADM Jay B) Thursday March 9th, 2006 9:24:24 AM
OOC: Jhark, if your choosing the Area effect version of Dispel Magic, realize, that you are ALL within an area of 30ft radius of the spell (exception being Fern who a deal further away).
Then you will have to make additional rolls for the guards plus whatever spells your party members may have up and active. The way I read this effect is its like a chain of events, highest level spells go first, then lowest.
If you chose, I'll give you the option to target one of the guards and you can use the rolls you've already made.

Marek spins his longsword in front of him, smacking aside two of the thrusts. The third draws blood down his right side. Jay - Think it is a moot point as noone is under the effect of spells at this time. That is why I only rolled for the three guards. Plus that form of dispel will not effect magical items. Do you still need more rolls?

Fern seems to be pondering her next action. (Giving you a held action)
One of Henri's attacks lands and does minor damage.
Jhark's spell is truly a blessing, as you soon see the large guards reduce in size. (OOC: I do need three more rolls. Your knowledge of magic tells you there are other effects up.)
Hart's attack does a bit of damage.
Mykell seems stunned for a second. (OOC: Giving you a held action.) - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Marek Isentomb AC 27/28 HP 16/73 d20+8=10 d20+11=21 Friday March 10th, 2006 1:13:00 PM
Marek takes a quick step left, These guard are far better than I gave creidt for unfortunately. Masterfully a less wounded man steps into Mareks thrust. The fighter starts to back peddle out when another Greatsword almost cleaves him in half. Blood sprays across the grass and the air leaves his lungs in a grunt. Definately underestimated them. Any one of these guys could take the entire group, let alone all three
Marek moves out of the Flank he suddenly found himself in, his sword back spinning in an effort to block the next killing blow.
tumble failed again Mobility grants +4 AC. making AC 31/32 to AoO

Several things happen in quick succession.
Jhark's spell seems to 'hang in midair' trying to work things out, as if the spell itself had a mind. Jhark is sure that the spell has had its full effect, as he launches a missile into the leader's chest.
Hart makes sure Marek remains healthy for a round longer.
Fern remains hidden. (still holding)
Marek attempts a tumble, albeit, unsuccessfully. (will include Hart's check when I calculate to hits)
Mykell lays into #3 with a fierce blow.
Henri also deals damage to #2.
--------------------------------------------
The guards take swings at Marek as he passes. (all miss)
The leader takes a step and is now flanking Hart. (AC 24 and 15, for 27 damage)
Guard #2 is flanking Hart as well. (AC 29(no crit) and 23, for 21 damage)
Guard #3 turns to attack Mykell. (AC 16 and 17, MISSING??)

Hart stepped in and saved him and now is looking to need help himself. Henri is there, however and Marek refocuses away from his own pain. Marek feints left and then moves quickly by the right side of Guard #2 or #1 if Henri's recent thrust took him down.
Mareks' brings across the swrod hard and low as he passes, spinning off back and to his left to assure none of the opponents get a clean shot. [PA 8 Hit AC 26 crit 23 Dmg 29 crit 58] Spring attack Marek moves 30' past them no AoO

(OOC: Folks, please be sure you specify which opponent your attacking. There is the leader, #2 and #3.)
The fight seems to have taken a turn, in favor of the party. Whether it is due to Jhark's quick thinking or the lack of conviction on the part of the guards, you can't be sure.
Hart moves away, out of melee and seems to have vanished.
Fern is still holding.
Jhark sees no signs of other spellcasters, though, he seems to remember the three guards did cast something upon entering. (You seem to think they are low level casters. Oddly, they seem to have had no problem casting in their heavy armor!)
Henri's attacks do damage.
Marek's attacks on #2 obliterate the guard's armor and whats in it. The guard slides out of his armor like a pudding tin with a leak.
Mykell turns on #3, seeing he hasn't taken much damage and sinks his sword deep.

The remaining guard and the leader turn to flank Hart. (AC 26, 8, 15 and 9, for 29 damage)

Jhark once again points the wand in the direction of the leader of this group of misfits. He releases both missiles but is unhappy with the results that it produces.

Surrender... (AMS Jay B) Thursday March 16th, 2006 8:51:01 AM
The tide turns for the group.
Hart returns and uses the powers given to him.
Fern attacks. The two remaining guards seem to sprout feathery tails.
Jhark focuses his resources on one, the leader, who takes a missile to the side of the face.
Being so focused on his last guard, Mykell realizes that his former target is quite dead. He turns to #3 instead.
Henri also attacks #3, and with Mykell's help, drops him to the ground, quite dead. -----------------------------------------------
The leader looks around, and realizing his two cronies are very very dead, decides to lay down his sword. He is very very wounded and is breathing heavily. It looks as if he may die at any time.
Addendum.... Thursday March 16th, 2006 8:52:00 AM
Marek drinks a potion this round.
Jhark Friday March 17th, 2006 3:04:18 AM

Marek moves in with weapon out and very much pointing at the man, "Face down arms out only time I say it." Marek's tone leaves little room to think he won't run him through. "Henri, Mykell and Fern, Check the tent. Jhark go find that Cuthbert Cleric, the Saytr and I could use a little of his assistance." Marek's eyes never leave the guard as he speaks.

Henri get's up, turn to Leader Marek "Yes Sir! Want to know what we find?" Turns to Mykell and fern, "Let's go! careful now!". They head for the tent. Ready to enter!
Pushing up daisies and skiing uphill... (ADM Jay B) Monday March 20th, 2006 12:59:25 PM
The leader of the guards falls over, clutching wounds in his stomach and goes rigid. He begins caughing blood. "Your ***caugh*** going to ***sputter*** regret this. **gurgle**." He then expires.
With an Int check DC 5, you all realize it may have been better next time to talk with the guards rather than provoking them.
The gear on these guards are as follows: three sets of full plate armor, mundane (one set is going to require an armorsmith to repair it) three great swords, mundane three pouches of thirty silver three sets of human sized courtiers outfits one very plain wedding band, silver three signet rings of the same house
(OOC: Justin, of course, has last say in these items, but I figured on giving you something. ;) If there is anything else Justin, I'll return to playing Hart. If you require me to run a bit longer, I will need info on the scene ! Please.)
Marek Isentomb d20+1=18 Monday March 20th, 2006 2:03:25 PM
Marek crouches down next to the dying man, "And next time the rightful lord of the area's man tells you to stand down maybe you won't pull your weapon and prepare to attack."
Marek checks out the signet ring, leaving it on the mans hand and then, assuming they are all actually dead and not -1 through -9 [Heal 19], lays out the bodies. Arms across thier chest and weapon next to them. Everything stays with the three men.
If any were not dead, Marek administers a Curing potion to him.
"If it's not too much trouble Henri." comes a sarcastic laiden reply. Looking back at the three now lying on the ground, Marek remains in the crouch. "Waste." Figuring someone to be here shortly to cause him greif, Marek stands and looks about.
Sir Henri Monday March 20th, 2006 4:15:42 PM
The paladin does what the leader told him to do, He look back at thr bodies, then replies to Marek "Well we did warn them, and We were doing our duty? Did any body go in side of the tent?" Henri look to the leader.
Jhark Monday March 20th, 2006 8:51:41 PM

Marek Isentomb Tuesday March 21st, 2006 3:01:13 PM
Marek nods to Henri, "I'm fine, but the little bit helps. Thanks."
Marek then turns and moves into the tent, "So what've we got?"
Hart Wednesday March 22nd, 2006 2:35:46 AM
"Pain." He says, answering Marek.
Fern Wednesday March 22nd, 2006 6:28:53 AM "Why didnt they want us to go into the tent?" Fern wonders aloud. "We told them who we were, and I'm sure that any guards would have been informed about us before the ball began. Did they just want to see who was better, or did they not want us to see something inside?"
At that Fern peeks into the tent, wondering why with all the commotion nobody has came to see what's going on.

Jhark finds the healer still in Beowulf's tent and he comes rushing with Jhark back to the rest of the group.
Fern peeks inside the tent and sees a woman inside the tent but she is crouched with her back turned to Fern, she sees to be muttering to herself but it sounds alot like gibberish.

Loretta dear, I'm running out of things to say, Because there's not story line... Jay has taken us as far as he can,

I would think that the woman in the tent is the missing woman we've been looking for. She may be injured (physically or mentally), or infected with the black goo (i mean the way those guards grew was strange), maybe she's some sort of shapeshifter.

Jay Wednesday March 29th, 2006 10:58:22 AM
I may leave the game.
Justin Webber (DM) Game Wednesday March 29th, 2006 7:35:05 PM
(I hate phone companies and I hate colds. Everyone I'm very sorry for not posting till now. Last week was completely my fault. My b-day was the 25 and my post faultered do to that and then mon we lost our phone service for awhile. I understand if you have lost interest in the game. I plan to continue it if you wish to continue playing but I can not and do not blame you if you do not wish to play now. I'll post tonight pending your replies and I'm sorry.)
Loretta Thursday March 30th, 2006 3:52:39 AM
Justin get posting and get me another game as well.
Jay B Thursday March 30th, 2006 6:03:08 AM
Justin,
Would you like me to take over completely?
If so, give me ALL the world info again(via the website or emails) and your basic goals and I'll take a week to come up with something. I'm doing this to basically keep the great players here happy. However, its out of desperation as well.
I think that this group would also appreciate more regular XP and treasure.
Sir Henri Thursday March 30th, 2006 7:11:23 PM
Sir Henri is poor, and would like a few coins with a pats on the back(like going up a level)
Loretta Thursday March 30th, 2006 10:24:52 PM
Yeah, by what I remember Fern's sheet needs serious updating (I'll make a list to do it this weekend) by her sheet she has exp for 7th level, hp for 6th level, saves for 7th level, and as soon as she gets 689xp will be at 8th level.
Jay Friday March 31st, 2006 9:54:16 AM
Uh, yeah, I think your sheet is in clear need for updating.
Perhaps Justin could do for a week off? Maybe we all need a break?
Ceil to DM Justin Friday March 31st, 2006 1:10:48 PM
Justin I agree, I think you might as well take a week off, and strainten you shit out.
IUdon't usaly mix in DM affairs, But when you go through two or three moduals and no money or EX points, it is not endearing to us.
Justin Webber Friday March 31st, 2006 11:23:10 PM
Been watching the replies made and I can continue running the game however it sounds like some people might need a small break. As of now I suspend all posting here till Monday. However I like to speak about the game here till then if this is exceptable.
On exp matters I like handing out exp and usually money, etc at the end of the module, however i can change this depending on what the group thinks.
This is how it stands at the moment. I like to get this all straightened out, everyone on the same page and to get my ADM back fully in the loop.
To do this I plan to do the following: Talk here with all you up to Monday when the game MAY start from where we left off.
Speak to each of you who are able through AIM, specially Jay who I like to get back into the loop on whats going on in the game.
I need a email sent out to all players seeing if everyone is still in yet, mainly DanielK since I seen nothing from here for awhile and any other who hasn't said nothing in awhile.
Also so everyone knows I do not blame any of you on the slowing of the game. As DM and since I'm the one not posting I know it is my fault and this is why I like to get this game back on the right foot so everyone try to bare with me. Let's try to make this a great game like the ones here in the Wold.
Game Over Saturday April 1st, 2006 4:20:45 AM
Everyone, I'm sad to inform all of you that officially by Jerry this game has been closed down. I have received a email from him saying how I been turned in for extreme misses in posting and have been pulled from running this game here on the Wold. I like emails from all here who would like to play. I like to still know your opinion and we will see what from there. For those of you who do not remember here is my emaill addy: Stug_Netos@yahoo.com
I'm not saying any of you said anything or caused any of this either so do not take any of my comments as that. It has been a honor to DM for all of you and I hope to maybe continue. Thank you all for hanging in there with me and I do hope to see emails from all of you.
Jay B Saturday April 1st, 2006 9:52:11 AM
I can't say I'm surprised about this news.
However, I'm truly saddened with the fact I tried and tried to help the group and Justin to make for a better game and regular posts. What I mean is, I am sad that it is over. But, truth be told, I am glad of it too. Maybe this situation will help Justin to realize that if one has too much on his plate, often times the plate breaks under the weight.
I will hope to play with you all in the future and continue to play with some of you in other games.
I am planning a game and a world, but I have yet to mention it to Jerry. Its still in the planning stages, but once I get it off the ground, I'll invite all of you to play, Justin as well.
Now, for my vote. I returned to the game twice, having been asked and pleaded with by Justin. I don't think this particular game should return, but maybe with help from Justin, I can start running another HarDell game. A short one or a long one.
At any rate, its been fun. Cheers.
Ceil to DM Justin Saturday April 1st, 2006 2:26:21 PM
I too am very sad that this has happen, I know you do alot in this wold and I also know about ypu health problems. Child you have to take care of your self FIRST. PLEASE!
You know i'll join any game you DM (Your that good) But you have to be consistant or else you'll Lose players. And finally you did! Jerry is another one that is almost as bad as you. BUT He check in every game, to see what is happening and how things are going. That's why you got caught.
You had a very good Adm in Jay. He's another one that I'd go out of my way to join any game he would run. The only reason I keep tabs in this game, was to know who I should play off next, I'm a old lady it helps me remember who is best to play on. My style what can I say, too old to change.
Untill the next time, My Dear. I hope to role play with you DMing again.
Good-by for now.
Ceil.
Kim Saturday April 1st, 2006 11:40:35 PM
Justin has asked us webmasters to keep this board open for one week for any closing thoughts. Next weekend (Friday, April 7th at the earliest) I will close down the board. If you wish to copy the game for your personal archives - now is the time to do so.

Loretta Tuesday April 4th, 2006 3:06:29 AM
Justin,
As always I love your games. This one lasted ALOT longer than the others I've been in. When's the next game?
Jay, when are you going to make a game of your own?
Jay B Tuesday April 4th, 2006 7:47:55 AM
Chances are I'll email Jerry as soon as the frame wirk is done. I'm still sorting things out. He still doesn't have an idea yet that I've wanted to do this. :)
Ceil Tuesday April 4th, 2006 8:13:36 AM
Justin when you start another game Please E-mail me. I still love you games.
Jay when your ready Let me know, I want to playin you game, I love your style.
Jay B Wednesday April 5th, 2006 10:24:25 AM
I'll email you and anyone who wants me to, Ceil, when I'm ready.
Ceil Wednesday April 5th, 2006 6:16:53 PM
Very good Jay, No rush> . > . >
Jay B Tuesday April 11th, 2006 1:20:39 PM
Maybe I should ask...
If I was going to start a tap game, like what Justin started, what sort of things would you like to see or do...?
1) High level (9th-12th), High adventure? 2) Medium level (5th-11th), Intrigue? 3) Mixed levels, adventure? 4) Or something COMPLETELY different?
Jay B Tuesday April 11th, 2006 1:24:24 PM
Just emailed Jerry asking him what he thinks about me possibly running something. Maybe I'll get his help.
loretta Wednesday April 12th, 2006 4:38:25 AM
Well Jay, I always prefer to start at low level (1-4) levels 1 & 2 are good because you're character is just starting out, 3 or 4 is good because while they're still young (and you're getting a feel for a charcter and preferably race or class you have never played before) you still get the first bonuses.
I like using other books, if not for classes then at least for equipment. For example the phb has two items that are specific for a cleric, the cleric robes and the holy symbol. In defenders of the faith (yeah I know its 3.0 but the items should still be able to be bought) you have things like a prayer book, holy book, abridged versions of each, altar cloths, traveling altar, insence, censer, braizer (various styles including field which anybody would be happy to have to keep their tent warm) ect. I cant list everything because i dont have the book out. In one game that i played a cleric (yes I do play them but rarely) when I had my cleric do her morning prayers I didnt say that she prayed and got her spells. I said that she brought out the altar, read her holy book, prayed, lit incense and even gave extra time for a sermon sometimes.
Jay to Loretta Wednesday April 12th, 2006 10:40:57 AM
Don't worry, the goal is to make everyone happy. :) I'll take what you say into consideration.
Jay B Wednesday April 12th, 2006 1:08:19 PM
Which books are available to everybody? Who has certain books they'd like to use?
loretta Wednesday April 12th, 2006 11:42:22 PM
In book format I have 3.0 phb & dmg. I also have 3.5 phb, dmg & complete arcane. Following is a list of some of the books I have, for a complete listing send me your email and I'll send you my list. I have alot of stuff including forgotten realms, non wizards stuff, adventures, feats, ect. If anybody wants a copy of the books let me know & I'll make a copy, but you have to pay for mailing it.
In pdf format on discs I have: 3.0 stronghold builder's guide defender's of the faith masters of the wild savage species song and silence sword and fist arms and equipment guide monster manual tome & blood
3.5 complete warrior complete divine complete arcane complete adventurer draconium book of exalted deeds monster manual
Jay B Thursday April 13th, 2006 10:48:25 AM
If you send me copies on disc, I could use them. :)
I have in actual book form...
3.0 defender's of the faith masters of the wild song and silence sword and fist arms and equipment guide monster manual 1&2 tome & blood
3.5 complete warrior monster manual
I do have some things on disc, but the trick is to find the darn things.
Loretta Thursday April 13th, 2006 12:27:00 PM
I made it easy to find my books on disc. I have 11 discs and keep them in a cloth cd case. I also have a word document that lists what is on each disc.
Send me your email so I can send you the list of books, like I said I can make as many cds as you like (still have half of a 100 cd tower from costco) but you'll have to pay shipping.
Ceil Friday April 14th, 2006 5:44:35 PM
Jay I loved the way you had to take over the Story line. But better I would like to play one of your doings, your touch on a sotry.
I also want to keep Sir Henri going, But that is not importent.
Hmmm! Let see what would I like to se you do??? # 2 or # 3 I can nt make up my mind>>>
Suprise Me?
Kim to ol' Mithril Tap group Saturday April 15th, 2006 10:24:31 AM
I had planned on shutting this down, but see that you all are just chatting away. You want me to keep this open a little longer?
Jay B to group Saturday April 15th, 2006 11:27:40 AM
Okay folks.
I need email addresses if we can allow for Kim to do his job and shut down the game.
Jerry has, more or less, confirmed that I can DM a tap game. Either a standard of something of my device.
I will email all of those who would like to play in my game if I get all the email addys.
Loretta Sunday April 16th, 2006 4:42:51 AM
Me! Me! Loretta wants to play!
Little halflings go running and flying around having lots of fun
loretta_boshell@hotmail.com
Jay B Monday April 17th, 2006 9:34:59 AM
Okay folks, I have Loretta and Ceil so far. No one else seems to want into the game.
Jerry has given me permission, or thats what it sounds like so far, to run a tap using short installments of my world. No worries, all things Woldian will be allowed!
I will have to most for other players in the Giggling Ghost like always, but other than that, Jerry and I seem to be working things out.
I'll keep you up to date, either emails or here on this board. :)
loretta Tuesday April 18th, 2006 2:32:36 AM

Is where I live.
PS> Does that mean that I have to up grade Sir Henri to 10 th level?
Jay B to Ceil Thursday April 20th, 2006 10:39:59 AM
Chances are Dearest, that I'm going to start the levels low for my game.
Loretta requested a low level campaign.
loretta Thursday April 20th, 2006 5:15:08 PM
Ceil wasnt reading my posts....wah...wah...wah...now dont forget to email me about any books you want, although I wont be able to copy them till i get a new comp (using my walmart card this weekend, unless something comes up) as this comp keeps freezing and now doenst acknowledge my cdburner as being on the comp.
Ceil Friday April 21st, 2006 5:47:25 AM
That's OK with me I'll reduce him to a lower level.LOL
As long as I get to play.
Ceil Tuesday April 25th, 2006 5:22:01 PM
Jay Opps! Sorry - DM Jay Now that's better, How low level will we start? Level 1 - Level 5 ?
Ceil. Wants. To. Know.
Jay B Wednesday April 26th, 2006 1:20:01 PM
We will likely start up at 4th level.
Jerry wants me to start out with episodes. Short modules no longer than three months, I think thats what he said.
Loretta Wednesday April 26th, 2006 9:59:43 PM
Well hurry up, now I have a new computer I want to play with it.
Jay B Thursday April 27th, 2006 7:28:25 AM

ceil, jay how do you like the game idea i mentioned in the loot and booty.
Ceil Tuesday May 2nd, 2006 6:26:17 AM
Loretta, Which one? Dear. The one with Wings?
loretta Tuesday May 2nd, 2006 12:45:56 PM
The basic concept of the game is that the gods have let some people in the world know that the world is facing destruction in about 1,000 years. As long as the rulers of the countries make plans to evacuate a portion of their population they will have great crops ect. People can go through one of several portals to a new world. The portal will open up for two weeks once every 2 years per area. The pc's are part of one of the first groups through the portal. There will be many surprises on the other side.
I plan to have around 500 people be going through the portal. however when pc's talk to one of their fellow travelers I dont want to have to make stuff up and so want at least a background, looks, personality, and partial character sheet for everyone. I will need full character sheets for the leaders of the community.
Almost everyone going through the portal will have pledged service to the person in charge (appointed by the king, I'm thinking a younger daughter or son) in return for supplies (thinking animals, food, seeds, and shelter for a year). You can go through the gate without pledging service and I'll probably have some of the more well off npc's do that (merchants, wizards, high clerics, nobility). The pc's will have to explore the new land, get crops in, have someone to take care of their crops/animals when they are gone, and make sure they have firewood and food for the winter. This will be true roleplaying, I'll be insisting on good backgrounds on pc's including why they are going to the new land and info on family both in the old land and the new.
Jay B Thursday May 4th, 2006 4:42:44 PM
Okay, I'm goinig to ask you ladies...
What do you want to see in the game? Intrigue? Combat? Politics? Dungeon Crawl?
Loretta Thursday May 4th, 2006 5:40:46 PM
Roleplaying! not roll playing. not to much politics, and if you must have dungeons (which are ok as long as there is a historical reason for them to be there and be infested with monsters and gold and not used to often) then balance it out with actual role playing later.
Ceil Friday May 5th, 2006 6:28:05 AM
Oh! Boy Waht a choice, Hmmm! Now let's see, intrigue sounds good. COMBAT OH! now that's a given, nothing is better than a good fight (for treasure), Polatics well I get enought of it on the news, But a good back stabing is fun to play. It seem that all the really good treasurs are hidden in Dungeons.
Well Jay! Did I answer you question? Did I Help at all?
Jay B Friday May 5th, 2006 8:44:08 AM
The ladies have spoken... I'll see what I can provide. :)
Jay B Friday May 5th, 2006 1:25:37 PM
Okay ladies... I have a request to make.
I want this game to be enjoyable, so, what I need from you both are four additional players.
I want Justin, personally. But if either of you have problems with that, email me and explain.
So choose two players each that you approve of and let me know who they are. If someone is chosen by both of you, I will ask them to play.
It doesn't matter to me who we get, just as long as I don't exceed 6 players. I won't make the same mistake as Justin. If someone ABSOLUTELY can't live without playing my game... I'll by the casket. :) I don't want my players to be overwhelmed with posts or in game activity. I find 6 players to be a good round, easy, number to handle.
You have your assignments. Go forth and be fruitful. I know you can do it.
loretta Friday May 5th, 2006 1:40:56 PM
cayzle & kathy (i know them both from dirt city)
loretta Friday May 5th, 2006 1:41:31 PM
Do either of you have aim? if so I need to add you to my buddy list.
Jay B Friday May 5th, 2006 3:29:14 PM
I have AIM axemaster1010, but never look at it anymore.
Whats yours?
loretta Friday May 5th, 2006 3:52:21 PM
Loretta537
Ceil Friday May 5th, 2006 6:01:59 PM
OK, HERE'S MY TWO,
Kim Mc Coy, JonPaul Ward, comes from Ct) Richard Pawlowski Mike Knotts Phil K (the New Player in Game 9)
I have no problem with Loretta choices, My choices are because they post steady five or more a week.
Jay B Friday May 5th, 2006 6:14:36 PM
My ideal group from that list, provided they would like to play would be...
Loretta Ceil Cayzle Kathy Mike Kim
I don't remember if I have played with Mike, but I like everyone elses play style.
Here are my choices for alternatives... Justin or his brother James... I say James because he actually posts more than Justin, I say Justin because I sort of promised him a spot if he wanted it just after his game went away.
If anyone knew where Sam Casper was, I'd choose him in a heart beat....
I think Jerry wants me to recruit in the Giggling GHost for players though. HOWEVER! I may be able to convince him otherwise.
Ceil Saturday May 6th, 2006 3:20:47 AM
Your right The webber brothers are very good players, Jim is better Than Justin, But justin has a habit of either losing intrest after a while. As for Sam, he hs not been heard of since last September. Not even Jerry knows where he is.
loretta Saturday May 6th, 2006 4:40:19 AM
ceil, do you have aol instant messaging?
who's sam casper?
Loretta Saturday May 6th, 2006 5:05:22 AM
I love the wold...I wish that playbyweb was more like the wold.
I recently joined a game in playbyweb I love the game concept (havent really played much though) but the dm posting is awful. I know I'm not the best of posters but I'm a player and usually if I dont post it's because I've been sick (really sick or depressed and cant get out of bed sick its the same). What's worse is that the dm has a co-dm and still there are no consistent posting.
When I joined there were 2 or 3 characters in the woods fighting skeletons, my character and two others were on the beach and had no idea about the fight. I said my character helped her parents off the ship and went to get water, now at the same time one of the other pc's helped my character and another (very stupid half orc) character was crying because a cat caught a mouse it wanted to eat. the half orc was very hungry and the other character gave it some food. There was some good roleplaying among the three of us on the beach. The admin only posted for the people in battle until I said my character went to look for water. then all he said was a very short sentence that I found a spring and to make a listen check. I made the check (with a 20) there's more roleplaying going on with the remaining two on the beach and the dm only posts a reply to the characters in combat. I complain in the ooc thread that the dm needed to reply to everyone and the codm says that I hear sounds of fighting stop (notice that there is still no post about the two on the beach). the last dm post was on the 30th (that's the one where he ignored my listen check) and the last co-dm post was on the 1st (the one where he said i heard the fighting end). There hasnt been a post in about a week, yet I know they have been at the site because on the 4th the dm introduce his girlfriend who was joining the game. Today I have made 2 ooc posts the first stating that I was amazed that the dm posted monday and although he was at the site on thursday I was amazed there was no post. the second was to ask the dm & co-dm to do three things. 1. post regularly 2. post for everyone, and 3. let us know if they cant post. I also informed everyone about how good the wold is :-D
Jay B Saturday May 6th, 2006 8:09:36 AM
Loretta, read the archival posts for the Chosen of Domi game. Sam is the player for Kale. He is a good role player, but had a tendency to disappear for a bit. Sam would post during combats and when loot was being divided, but on everyday posts, he would split. I guess role playing wasn't his favorite thing, but he was good at it.
Yeah, I don't like play by web site. Do they have any Harry Potter based games there?
Ceil Saturday May 6th, 2006 9:07:23 AM
Loretta, no I don't have a IM messenger, I cannot activate it, no matter what pass word I come up with, yahoo rejects all of them.
Sam Casper is a long time both in texas and in the games, he said he had to take a walk about for about two month and never came back (up to this date) cannot even get to talk to Maria his wife when I E-Mail them, something has happen.
Loretta Saturday May 6th, 2006 12:47:53 PM
Ceil, try the aol instant messaging not yahoo. As for passwords I have found that using ones that are easy to remember usually work great you know like password or messaging, or something like that. Now your sign on name would be harder try something like ceil followed by some numbers.
Loretta Tuesday May 9th, 2006 1:21:43 AM
Ceil, Jay
When do your games begin & what are the character creation rules? Can I have an idea of what the games are going to be about for when I create my characters?
Ceil I cant wait to be a winged halfling sharpshooter (with maybe a level of regular fighter for melee weapons.)
Jay B Tuesday May 9th, 2006 6:25:07 AM
I'll email my game rules shortly...
Ceil Tuesday May 9th, 2006 6:06:45 PM
Jay = I have received your rules, But cannot open your file. Sorry
Loretta Tuesday May 9th, 2006 10:08:46 PM
Ceil, Jay used microsoft WORKS! Read below to see what kim suggested about works documents.
Kim d100=67 Monday April 24th, 2006 5:27:08 PM Just had someone send me a CS saved with *.wps. Bad! What you said, JK.
If you have Microsoft Works, go ahead and edit to your hearts content in native Works format. But if you're going to share the document with someone else, then do them the favor of converting it (by using Save As option) in .rtf (Rich Text Format), which just about any word processor can work with. Or in .txt format. I prefer RTF, though.
Jay B Wednesday May 10th, 2006 10:39:50 AM
I use what I'm familiar with. I'm not apologizing for it either. I don't usually FOLLOW the CROWD! So get use to the WORKS format... thats what I am using in my game. :) Cheers.
loretta Wednesday May 10th, 2006 4:01:20 PM
yes, but ceil cant open it.
loretta Wednesday May 10th, 2006 11:31:50 PM
Jay, as you're the dm here are some game questions.
1. what time of year is it?
2. how much per pound for carrots, onions, potatoes?
3. per arms & equipment guide a portable game board weighs 1lb and costs 2g or up. I was wondering how much a game board of mother of pearl & ebony would cost?
Jay Thursday May 11th, 2006 6:56:03 AM
1. Fall harvest just happened. 2. Stew vegetables are plentiful and cheap just after harvest, mere coppers a pound. 3. Sounds like you want a masterwork game board... 50gp or so.
Keep in mind, please, that the gear you carry isn't the most important. Gold, and other currency, will need to be maintained. It is likely I'll be charging you for rooms or the like.
Also, where you are starting out is a lightly wooded area with large expanses of plains.
Rules are as follows...
Build 4th level character with starting experience fitting that level. Characters can be ANY alignment (but keep in mind that any evil acts will have repercussions.) Use basic 3.5 rules from the PHB, DMG, SRD, (other books may be added if needed). Use any core class or Woldian class. Use either the dice roller on the Woldian website or one of these sets of attributes... - Four 14's and two 10's. - Three 16's and three 10's. - Two 18's, three 10's and one 8.
Characters may start play with +1 magic item of their choice, either a weapon, armor, or ring. - Characters also get 5000 in starting gold. - Characters may also have a family heirloom important in some way to the character. - The heirloom may be of masterwork quality. It must have a lineage and back story however. (this item may never be enchanted. The DM may alter this ruling as he/she sees fit). The heirloom may start to take on traits of its own if the DM, that is to say, I, like the back story.
Feel free to use Monster races, but use the ECLs. Standard races as good as any. Exceptions may be made by DM who will consider game balance before allowing race. - Fey (none of which start play with instruments. You may give up all starting gold for your special instrument; ie the satyrs pipes, etc) - Planetouched are allowed. - Dragontouched are allowed. - Undead may be played (keep in mind that the background story will have to be GOOD and your PC will have to deal with the stereotypes.) - No plant creatures, constructs, dire animals, magical beasts or animals will be accepted, unless they are animal companions, familiars or special mounts.
Clerics have to worship a God from the DMG or Wold. There are no 'generic' clerics.
PC surgery will take place if necessary.

Jay with further info Thursday May 11th, 2006 9:41:34 AM
Rangers, druids, clerics, bards, shamans (witches) and barbarians are dominate classes.
Rogues, wizards and sorcerers are few and rare. Some do exist.
Orcs are the major threat in this world, so half orcs, as good as they may be, will see their share of prejudgice/racism.
------------------------------ Acceptions will be made for players who have good back stories for their PC's

Jay b Friday May 12th, 2006 7:36:20 AM
Please, keep in mind, my rules keep evolving, so things might change. Thanks
Ceil Friday May 12th, 2006 8:01:30 AM
I don't know when I'll start, June or july. You enter as your self with the silver Wing Pin, and on the other side of the Tapestry You have a full set of wings, You'll be meeting two males they will take you to lern to fly and fight. When the story ends You fly out of the Tapestry and your wings will disapere.
Jay - Can I have a half Drow (Papa Dwarf/ Mama Drow)??
Jay to Ceil Friday May 12th, 2006 2:03:28 PM
You can have a Half-elf, with half-elf stats and your background. :)
There are no stats for half dwarves... though, I'm sure some odd and creepy mutant has been born. :(

Loretta Monday May 15th, 2006 4:45:02 AM

Game Update:
FROM JERRY.
Ahh. Thanks for explaining.
Let me remove this burden from your shoulders Jay. I declare that DMs in Taps can't promise slots to players. So tell them I refused that idea. They will have to sign up as normal and hope for a slot. Then they have to use a character idea that you will approve as playable in your scenario.
Jerry

Eclip and Spirit (Glenn) Saturday July 8th, 2006 11:45:33 AM
OOC: I sent Jay my Email. Btw this page is readably by the general public, so forgive me if I don't publish my email here.
IC: Eclip followed by Spirit step out thin air where the tapestry opens into this world. Glance around he nods to the other, "Greetings, I am called Eclip and this is my companion Spirit." Eclip gestures to the large dog at his side. "So, where are we?"
Lenoir (Ceil) Saturday July 8th, 2006 1:32:57 PM
OOC: That ok if you don't want the public to know your E-mail addy, But you see I make all the monday reports to the powers that be, thy want to know how well the players are doing or if a problem is rising.
That why I ask, Ithough DM Jay would. you don't have to tell me.
-----------------------------------------------
There sit a black man, on the ground eating a piece of beef jerky. The human has musles so he must be a fighter, his eyes are brown and has no hair on his head. He's wearing chainmail shirt Boot and tight black Pants. Next to him is a shield and a bastard sword.
He look up at you, "Greetings! I'm called Lenoir, I have no idea where we are, so sit down and have some jerky with me. Oh! that horse over there in called white hoof, as you can see all black except one pat of the frounT leg, so I named him Whie Hoof."
Eclip and Spirit Saturday July 8th, 2006 3:04:08 PM
Eclip accepts a piece of jerky and sits across from Lenoir, "White Hoof is a fine name befitting the nature of a fine horse."
Gentian Violet (Cayzle) Sunday July 9th, 2006 11:36:06 AM
Getian enters the area betwen the Giggling Ghost and the next adventure, a strange kind of formless middle ground. The halfling is mounted on his riding dog, and a bat hides in his collar. he is wearing a bright green breastplate that is not made of iron. He carries a lance.
"Hail and well met, new friends!"
