Battle Round 13: Accros the Canyon... [DM Inge] (Troll 2 Will Save: d20+3=19) (SM will saves: d20+5=24 d20+5=11 d20+5=13 d20+5=7) Tuesday July 4th, 2006 9:01:06 AM Vauhwyt tries to convince Olyn that she will be able to catch up quickly. Then beneath the bridge Vauhwyt heals herself and rests a bit while she waits. Meanwhile her friends are crossing the bridge and prepare to run to the inn.
(ooc: I have been going over the expeditious retreat period. You cast it when confronted with the Huntsman. Since then you all ran to the forest -- set the planes on fire -- fought with the skulls -- run to the bridge etc -- I'm afraid I allready should have ended this spell, but I'll grant the 25 posts leaving you with 5 extra turns.)
Rose rummages through her bag of holding (move action) and digs up a tindertwig... Rose will need some cloth, drenched in oil, tied to the tip of the arrow to be set to flames. An arrow won't burn just like that. It takes Rose 2 turns to complete this anyhow... As Rose is allready on the other side of the Bridge she has some time before her other friends have crossed it. If Rose spends this turn to set the arrow on fire she can shoot next turn torching the Trolls. You might be able to prepare two arrows...
Jack the Ghost appears next to Troll 2 and senses some new power within his spiritual body... Posession... He concentrates on the Troll bending his will around to posess the Troll's mind!
(Troll Will Save: 19 -- FAILURE!)
The Troll looks dumb and his eyes stare in the distance... like in a trance he just stands there... lowering his arms... drueling... apparently mindless! And in complete control of Jack's Ghost!!
Dietrich saw Jack's Ghost appearing next to the Troll... and suddenly Jack's spirit blended with the Troll's body!!
Theodore stops at the other side of the bridge and waits for his friends.
Olyn yells at Dietrich to make it to the bridge and at the same time he calls upon the might of Wardd to grant him his last powerful spell! A searing light emanates from Olyn's open palms and strikes the Troll in the back!!!
The regenerated troll shudders and nearly collapses once again! He barely stands but doesn't move an inch... it's body is now posessed by Jack's Ghost. A strange feeling rips through Jack as he feels the Troll body getting struck by this devine power... only 4Hp left!
Berlon runs on... Vorelle now too crosses the bridge... Dietrich sees the Troll being possessed by Jack's Ghost and how it is hurt by Olyn's Divine Power... now he too can safely run from this dreaded place!!
All of you are now on the other side of the bridge. The image of the Giant remains on the other side and so does the Ghost of Jack...
Not a turn too soon!!
Out of the forest the four fastest Shadown Mastiffs come howling and growling! They see the Troll and suddenly also the Giant! Three of them are madly shaken by the Giant and yelp with their tails between their legs! The fourth one runs towards the bridge and not stands 15ft away from Jack the Troll...
Vauhwyt remains beneath the bridge... all other are on the other side... will the bridge collapse as the first Shadow Mastiff tries to cross it or with Jack the Troll strike it down first? What will the Elf do now that he is saved by Olyn? And ... what overwhelming forces will spawn from the forest edge...
Now do you know the road to the Inn?!?
The distance to the Inn is 1000ft... Jack's body lays about 800ft from here... (Olyn's Hippogriff flew 2.5 rounds at 400ft per round to get to the bridge and flew back for 2 remaining turns.)
Olyn Tuesday July 4th, 2006 10:27:03 AM
Starts running in the direction of the Inn yelling: Follow me, the Inn is this way. Vauhwyt will catch up so lets get going people. We dont have time to wait.
Olyn begins moving in that direction, while loading his crossbow.
Look out for more of those dogs enroute to the Inn.
Dietrich; AC 19, HP 30/60 d20+7=26 d8+5=13 d20+4=22 d20+4=22 Tuesday July 4th, 2006 12:38:30 PM
Dietrich is glad that almost the whole party could make it to the other side of the canyon. He doesn´t know exactly what´s going on with that Troll, and won´t stay to find it out.
He sheaths his sword (fast-draw) and takes the bow, firing at the first mastiff: hits ac 26, damage 13, crit 39!
Than he runs with his friends towards the inn, looking around for more trouble: Spot 22, listen 22
Vorelle [AC 17; HP 21/57] Tuesday July 4th, 2006 1:53:29 PM
Vorelle moves after the rest of the party, looking around to make sure everyone is keeping up.
Vauhwyt (AC20 HP32 of 52) fatigued and Mookie (AC17 HP21 of 26) (Unseen Servant, Expeditious Retreat) d100=17 Tuesday July 4th, 2006 2:11:46 PM
[OOC: Inge, you have Mookie off on his own on the map! He is in Vauhwyt's pocket!]
Vauhwyt whispers via her message spell to Berlon, Dietrich, and Olyn: "Don't stay to fight! Run! I'll catch up!"
Vauhwyt knows that her expeditious retreat spell is almost over, so she casts another one.
She has her Grease scroll in hand -- she will cast it whenever the bridge goes! She does not think one Shadow Dog will do it. Two, maybe. Four, probably. But whenever the bridge tilts, that's when she hopes to cast her Grease spell.
Jack the Troll Tuesday July 4th, 2006 5:51:35 PM
Jack wanders through the cobwebs of the creatures brain. What a mess this is. Finally he gets a hold on how to move. Raising his arms above his head, then dropping them. Odd sensation that is, well to his brain. He feels the damge thaty has been done, and the weakness of the body. What?! Remnants of the beasts thoughts still there. Mate, Kill, mate, kill. Concentrate.
Jack begins to make the body jump up and down, waving its arms about. Looking towards the new come dogs, he screeches. Screeches? Continuing to bounce around, he moves over to block entrance to the bridge, still shrieking loudly.
Once he arrives at about P11, he turns and aces the oncoming dogs. He then sits, and motions the dogs to come and play with him. "Chumgo chepli ghollov." he repeats over and over.
Rose Wednesday July 5th, 2006 1:15:40 AM
When Rose sees that everyone is safely on this side of the bridge she decides not to fire the arrow but instead takes off running towards the inn.
Rose will run towards the bridge as fast as she can. run is x4 right 50'x4=200'
dm sanity info Rose hp: 22/35 AC20
Active spells shield: negates magic missile, +4 cover bonus to ac lasts ?/30 rounds expeditious retreat: +30' for 2/30 rounds

Battle Round 14: Riders 'n Mastiffs... [DM Inge] Wednesday July 5th, 2006 10:25:57 AM Olyn yells to everyone to follow him... after all he allready knows the way and soon enough the rest will see the landmarks the bright cleric placed! But Olyn's also worried about the Mastiffs he saw near the Inn and thus he readies his crossbow...
"Look out for more of those dogs enroute to the Inn" he says and hopes this warning will not be in vein.
Dietrich doesn't understand what is going on with the Troll, but he doesn't care! Now he can get out of here fast!! From accros the bridge he takes one single shot at a Mastiff which he instantly slays with one majestic arrow!!!
Then the warrior turns around and runs with his friends.
Vorelle and Berlon continue to run as fast as they can But Berlon quickly falls behind. The ranger tries to make sure everyone stays together and that everyone can keep up. No trace of Vauhwyt yet...
Rose speeds on her way at a ludicrous 200ft speed leaving the rest behind quickly!
(Please all list your speed at which you are running because the group will be scattered all over the place like this... Rose is leading at 200' what's the rest doing?!?!)
Vauhwyt secretly waits beneath the bridge and is comforted by the fact that his raven retreated into his pocket a few seconds ago... Silently he waits and hears the growling wolves... some yellp in fear of the Giant... a loud moan and one of the Mastiffs falls into the Canyon -- an arrow sticking out of his chest. She holds her grease spell ready and waits for the Huntsman and his minions to cross the bridge...
For the first time Jack experiences what it feels like to be a Troll. Hitting his "own" head with the Troll arms he finally gets a hold onhow to move. Then looking at the Shadow Mastiffs he fools around with the dangerous dogs.
The scent from the Troll is familiar to the Mastiffs and they do not charge Jack the Troll. Instead they duck behind the Troll's legs to cower from Theodore's Giant!
Vauhwyt Highlight to display spoiler: { Out of the Forest you hear a lot of Shadow Mastiffs coming accompanied by a number of riders.
"THEY HAVE PASSED THE TROLLS!!! HURRY LET's GET AFTER THEM!!! THEY CAN'T OUTRUN US!!!! QUICK BEFORE THE MASTER GETS HERE!"
Sitting on their horses they run towards the bridge... NEXT round they will ride over the bridge...}
The Elf Olyn saved runs with the rest of you...
Vauhwyt (AC20 HP32 of 52) fatigued and Mookie (AC17 HP21 of 26) (Unseen Servant, Expeditious Retreat) Wednesday July 5th, 2006 10:50:15 AM
Vauhwyt waits, not moving. She has the Grease scroll ready. At the very moment that the bridge gives way, she casts the spell covering squares T-U-11-12 (readied action). Then, as soon as she is able, she scurries up the rope and races off.
If she is double moving (hustling), then she moves 140. If she has rested and is no longer fatigued, then she moves at 280.
She says a silent prayer to her lady, asking vengeance on this Creature who dares to hunt innocents.
Olyn Wednesday July 5th, 2006 12:48:01 PM
continues moving the group towards the Inn.
Ready your weapons, there be Shadow dogs ahead. Keep alert.
Olyn hands the Elf his mace and shield.
Dietrich; AC 19, HP 30/60 Wednesday July 5th, 2006 1:59:34 PM
Dietrich is quite satisfied at his shot. One dog less. He shouts to his friends to stay together, running at similar paces.
"Friends, we have to move and fight close, dividing the group has already caused harm enough. Let´s not forget Jack´s body either! We have to bring it back." He keeps looking for trouble (take the spot and listen checks from last turn).
OOC: his base speed with armour is 20ft, I guess that makes 80 while running, right?
Jack the Troll Wednesday July 5th, 2006 5:14:44 PM
Jack risks a glance at the fleeing heros. No pursuit as of yet good. The dogs are not friendly, but he seems to be shielding them from the giant. Needing to give his friends as much time as possible, Jack continues to play with the dogs. Still no sign of the huntsman.
Berlon 24/39 AC 20 (24 vs troll) Wednesday July 5th, 2006 6:18:43 PM
Berlon continues to go as fast as he can, and he's starting to worry it's not going to be fast enough. He runs another 45', huffing and puffing as he goes...
Theodore & Macaw HP 21/26 AC 16 (mage armor, invisible) Wednesday July 5th, 2006 10:14:05 PM
Theodore chases after his friends towards the inn.
Vorelle [AC 17; HP 21/57] Wednesday July 5th, 2006 11:18:40 PM
Seeing that Berlon is falling behind, Vorelle scoops him up and carries him bodily, running after the rest of the group.
Rose Thursday July 6th, 2006 3:29:16 AM
rose keeps on running as fast as she can (is there anyway she can go faster than x4, if so she probably does it) rose knows that very, very soon she will loose her expeditious retreat spell and fall behind.
dm sanity info Rose hp: 22/35 AC20

Round 15: The Collapsing Bridge and... [DM Inge] (Grease - Riders: d20+5=22 d20+5=15 - Mastiffs: d20+5=7 d20+5=18 d20+5=12 d20+5=16) (Rider jump: d20+4=18 d20+9=20 d20+7=23 d20+4=12) (Huntsman attack: d20+27=37 d20+22=29 d20+17=25 d6+8=9 d6+8=10 d6+8=13) Thursday July 6th, 2006 10:56:00 AM
Both riders and a couple of Shadow Mastiffs approach the bridge without paying much attention to the Troll that stands in their way -- why that stupid monstrosity is soo preoccupied by the Mastiffs is beyong the rider's comprehention. Both turn their head to look at the Giant but quickly realises it's just a figment of their immagination.
There, up ahead, their prey is running towards the Inn and they need to be stopped!!
Without hesitation to begin crossing the bridge... they don't make it halfway when the bridge begins to collapse!!! The ropes snap! On top of that Vauhwyt casts a grease spell causing the horses and the Mastiffs to slip...
Only one of the War Horses does not slip but the rest -- the other rider and 4 mastiffs all slide into the abyss getting spiked on the razor sharp rocks deep down there... The other Rider's eyes grow wide as he witnesses the rest falling and the bridge collapsing!!
By the time the Bridge completely falls he made it to ¾ of the bridge... his horse begins to slip... with one last effort the rider jumps from his horse trying to grasp the bridge remains on the other side...
( Jump: 18 / Grasp bridge remains (Touch attack) : 20 / Hang on (reflex): 23 / fair enough to me / Fear Save: 12 - FAILURE)
The Rider jumps of his horse and manages to grapple the remains of the bridge... he did not see Vauhwyt at all and is terribly shaken! He can't move an inch from fear...
Out of the forest more Mastiffs come running but they can not cross the bridge and madly growl at the canyon... seeking a way to get across this... but unable to find a way...
Then He comes as well... calmly he looks upon the bridge (again without noticing Vauhwyt as she is now covered by the bridge remains) and stops looking at the Troll, the Giant, his wolves and the rider that hangs on the opposite side of the Canyon...
The rage in his eyes is immense!
He takes out his beloved bow... readies an arrow... aims...
(At Berlon's speed the group is now about 135 ft away from the bridge. Most have been hanging back with Berlon.)
Three powerful shots send a trio of deadly accurate arrow inbound for the Elf.
(Taking a -2 penalty for range increment) (Arrow 1 hits AC37 -- 9HP) (Arrow 2 hits AC29 - 10HP) (Arrow 3 hits AC25 -- 13HP)
The damage done by the arrows was immense (32HP total) and dispite Olyn's healing spells the Elven ranger collapses to the ground...
Looking back you see these shots came from the Huntsman himself! A clear display of awesome power! All make a DC20 Fear Check!!
Vauhwyt remains hidden under the bridge... not having rested enough she's still fatigued and she can't just start running away with the Huntsman standing there bow in hands...
The group continues to run at Berlon's speed. Vorelle is willing to carry the little Gnome but if she does she will running at encumbered speed at a max 20ft per turn x 4 this brings you to a max speed of 80ft... While carrying Berlon, Vorelle's DEX is lowered to +1 and has a check penatly of -6. If one person carries Berlon and the other his gear you may run at Medium Encumbrance.
So the speed of the group goes up to 80ft per turn now. At the end of the turn the main group will be at at 215ft... Olyn knows the Inn is still about 785ft from here... and with no forest or rock any where near there's barely a chance to take cover from the Huntsman's arrows... If you could just make it to the top of this sloped plain (about another 400ft...)
Olyn d20+8=9 d20+8=24 d100=97 Thursday July 6th, 2006 12:27:08 PM
Burning a hero point, Olyn succeeds on his fear save with a 24.
lvl 3 spell off a scroll check, 97%.
Pulling a scroll out from a scroll tube attatched to his belt, Olyn turns and faces the Huntsman. Reading the words to his satisfaction Olyn places a barrier between the Bow using monster and the running group, with the Elf's body on the group's side of the barrier.
(page 302 of the PHB, Wind Wall, cast at an 8th level, 80 feet long and 40 feet high) ***never thought i'd use this scroll**
Dietrich; AC 19, HP 30/60 d20+5=24 Thursday July 6th, 2006 1:26:01 PM
Dietrich sees the bridge collapsing and several enemies finding their doom in the canyon. He´s satisfied. The "hunters" have to feel some pain too in their evil passtime; maybe they´ll think twice next time, before bringing people to this ¨%$¨% place.
Then the worst enemy arrives and demonstrates its power, slaying the Elf. Though shocked, the iron-willed warrior keeps controled (will check 24, yeah!), it´s not the first time he´s to face overwhelming odds at battle.
Dietrich pushes his friends to run faster and will drag anyone stroken by fear along with him. "Keep moving! Just keep moving!" He will run as last rearguard, so that the enemies should try to fire at him, and not at other, more fragile party-members.
Vauhwyt (AC20 HP32 of 52) fatigued and Mookie (AC17 HP21 of 26) (Unseen Servant, Expeditious Retreat) d20+5=8 d20+7=17 Thursday July 6th, 2006 1:59:35 PM
Vauhwyt climbs out of the canyon -- Climb Check 8 should do the trick, since per the skill, "A rope with a wall to brace against" is DC5. She was 10 feet down, so that's 40 feet of equivalent movement climbing at quarter speed. With her remaining 100 feet of movement, she races as fast as she can toward the group. With any luck, that puts her safely behind the Wind Wall.
Vauhwyt is not afraid (immune), but Mookie cowers in his master's pouch.
As Vauhwyt hustles through the Wind Wall, she shouts as loud as she can: This was fun, Mister Hunterr! Next time WE'LL hunt YOU!
Mookie says, "Boss! Hush up! Don't tick him off any more!"
Vauhwyt grins but does not answer.
[OOC: GREAT IDEA, Olyn!]
rose Thursday July 6th, 2006 3:34:26 PM
All of a sudden rose feels slower, her expeditious retreat spell has finally worn off. She continues running as she reaches for one of her wands.
now move 20'/round x4= 80'
Jack the Troll Thursday July 6th, 2006 5:31:52 PM
Jack watches as the riders ride past and onto the bridge. Seeing the huntsman ride into the open, he moves over closer to his boss. Watching the arrows hit and drop the elf, Jack raises his arms, shouting some ununtelligible remarks.
Standing thee by the boss, he never looks at him eye to eye.
OOC Place me next to the horseman on map.
Vorelle [AC 17; HP 21/57] d20+3=22 Thursday July 6th, 2006 8:53:35 PM
This guy may well be the biggest bully of all time, and Vorelle isn't about to be cowed by him [Will save 22].
On the other hand, sticking around and yelling defiance at him isn't a good idea, either. Vorelle concentrates on running.
Theodore & Macaw HP 21/26 AC 16 (mage armor, invisible) d20+7=22 d20+7=9 Thursday July 6th, 2006 9:36:19 PM
Theodore's invisibility boosts his courage. If he can't see me, he can't shoot me, he thinks. (Will 22) Macaw doesn't have the same luck, and flaps off towards the inn, leaving his master behind.
Glancing back momentarily, he sees Vauhwyt break free. The young mage quickly turns back towards the inn and races with the rest of his friends.
Berlon 24/39 AC 20 (24 vs troll) Thursday July 6th, 2006 11:06:04 PM
Not having much say in the matter, given the current circumstances, Berlon will continue his impression of a sack of potatoes.
Round 16: Olyn saves the day... [DM Inge] (Wind Wall Distance: d100=41) (Huntsman attack: d20+27=30 d20+27=40 d20+22=35 d20+17=37 d6+8=11 d6+8=14 d6+8=13 d6+8=13 d20+17=30) Friday July 7th, 2006 8:54:49 AM Olyn reacts calmly to the awesome threat the Huntsman poses and turns around and pulls a scroll from his belt (move action)... Reading the words to his satisfaction he places a barrier between the group and the Huntsman!! (Wind Wall: Arrows and bolts are deflected upward and miss)
He positions the barrier between the Elf body and the bridge.
(Elf died at 180ft from the bridge -- group is at 215ft -- as no specific value is specified I take a d100 x 1,8 = 41 x 1,8 = 74 ft from the bridge -- this is important for Vauhwyt's running distance...)
Dietrich is satisfied to see several enemies finding their doom in the canyon. When the Hunt himself demonstrates his through power the warrior is shocked but het manages to stay focussed. The warrior stays behind acting as a human shield for his weaker friends.
Rose's expeditious retreat comes to and end and now runs just as fast as the rest of the group (with Berlon being carried by Vorelle and the ranger thus running with heavy load)
No one in the group appears to be impressed by the Huntsman display of power and they allcontinue to run towards the Inn... Berlon gives an excellent impression of a sack of potatoes and Vorelle didn't know potatoes could weigh this much...
Back at the bridge Vauhwyt crawls from underneath the bridge! First she climbs up the rocks and then she begins to race towards her friends. The Huntsman is startled to see the liontaur popping up from underneath the bridge and immediately readies his bow and takes penalties in order to use his Rapid Shot Feature.
Vauhwyt runs away from the bridge with 4 DEADLY ACCURATE arrows behind her... the arrows sing in the wind... closer... Vauhwyt then passes Olyn's Wind Wall that is created at 74ft from the bridge making her manes rise to the sky -- and should she be wearing a skirt she'd be looking like Marilyn Monro on all fours ... euhm... that came out wrong
Then one arrow after the other reaches the Wind Wall and is COMPLETELY DIVERTED!!!! ALL ARROWS MISS!!!!
...
Olyn's Wind Wall spell saved the liontaur for otherwise she would have been dead!!!
...
"AAAAARRRRRGHHHHHHHHHH" a bone shilling infernal roar springs forth from the Hunt's mouth. The sense of defeat is not what he is accustomed to...
As a move action the Hunt digs up a silk rope...
Jack the Troll walks up to his master and rasises his arms shouting unintelligible remarks... The Hunt looks at the Troll and behind his red mask his eyes throw flames of pure rage... seems like he WILL cool his anger on something next round...
Well done my friends! Now run to the Inn...
Vauhwyt is at 100ft from the bridge -- 900 from the Inn -- hustling at 140ft per turn The Group is at 295ft from the bridge -- 705 from the Inn -- running at 80ft per turn
Vauhwyt (AC20 HP32 of 52) fatigued and Mookie (AC17 HP21 of 26) (Unseen Servant, Expeditious Retreat) Friday July 7th, 2006 9:35:58 AM
Vauhwyt picks up Rose as she passes the small person. Even fatigued and carrying the halfling, she moves faster with her Expeditious Retreat spell than Rose does.
Mookie pipes up from the pouch in which he was cowering, "Yeah, elf-boy, great spell! Next time people say that stuff about you, I'm going to disagree for a change!"
"Hush up, Mookie!" says Vauhwyt.
Cayzle whispers to Dave as they sit around the (imaginary) gaming table: Highlight to display spoiler: {Dude, remember that this Hunter guy can take your soul and rip it in half. Look at poor Samule! You might want to get out of there!}
Dietrich; AC 19, HP 30/60 Friday July 7th, 2006 10:27:25 AM
Dietrich smiles and shakes his head at yet another daring move by Vauhwyt... He thought she´d wait for the Huntsman to go away, before catching up with the party. If it weren´t for Olyn´s magic, things would look bleak.
The warrior concentratesa again on what lies ahead. Olyn said something about more hounds... He continues alert, ready to fire at the first dog approaching. Again, he says to his friends: "Let´s stay together, forming to protective circle, with Theo and Rose running inside."
(ooc There´s no use in carrying her, as neither me nor Vorelle will be able to run faster than 80ft)
Olyn Friday July 7th, 2006 11:07:26 AM
picks up the Elf body and takes off with the rest of the group.
Rose d20+5=15 Friday July 7th, 2006 4:20:10 PM
Rose continues running and suddenly is surprised to feel herself being lifted up. As soon as she's on Vauhwyt's back she grabs the harness and carefully works herself around so that she's not hurting Vauhwyt but is facing backwards and securely fastened. She will then start calling out what the huntsman is doing.
Piper is flying overhead.
Theodore and Macaw HP 21/26 AC 16 (mage armor & invisibility) Friday July 7th, 2006 4:53:42 PM
Theodore mentally breathes a sigh of relief when Olyn's magic stops the Huntsman's arrows. He continues to huff along with the others.
Jack the Troll Friday July 7th, 2006 5:25:34 PM
Jack prays as he sees the huntsman shooting at Vauhwyt. Just as they rain down on her, they are deflected. The bellow of rage next to him makes hims smile. Concentrating with all his might, he starts to leave the body of the troll. His next destination is to take over the Huntsman himself. If the Huntsman fights him off, at least he will have given his friends a little while longer to get to the inn.
OOC Use same power to enter body of Huntsman. I'm Mad Jack afterall!!!Will save DC20
Vorelle [AC 17; HP 21/57] Sunday July 9th, 2006 7:28:41 PM
Seeing that carrying him does no good, Vorelle puts Berlon down and runs next to him instead. Even though she could go faster than the gnome, she chooses to match her pace to his.
Berlon 24/39 AC 20 (24 vs troll) Sunday July 9th, 2006 11:31:44 PM
Back on his feet but not taking the time to run, Berlon sticks out a thumb to see if a ride is coming. If one isn't he runs as fast as he can, a mere 45 feet....
Round 17: Mad Jack the Ghost brings honor to his name!!!. [DM Inge] (Huntsman Will Save: d20+13=27) (Huntsman attack: d20+27=41 d100=64 d20+27=29 d100=52 d20+22=40 d100=12 d20+17=23 d100=66 d6+8=12 d6+8=14 d6+8=14 Monday July 10th, 2006 8:42:39 AM
While running after the group Vauhwyt realises she owes her life to Olyn and she shouts "Wowsy! Olyn, you saved me! ... Thank you! Thank you!" Even Mookie is thankful to the Cleric!
As Dietrich sees what just happened he shakes his head at yet another daring move by Vauhwyt... was that a token of admiration or telling the liontaur that that was a ludicrous thing to do... Anyhow, if it weren't for Olyn's magic things would look bleak...
Olyn doesn't pay much attention to the praises and instead he makes sure the Elf body can be returned to the living Wold... the sight of what happened to Samule says it all! This is no place to be left behind in!
The group now runs at 45ft/turn as Vorelle puts Berlon back on the ground. This is a lot slower than Vauhwyt who runs at 140ft/ turn untill her expeditious retreat falls off...
The group get's to 340ft from the bridge and vauwhyt reaches 240. Still to soon to pick anyone up.
Back at the bridge Mad Jack brings honor to his name... trying to possess such a powerful man seems Mad indeed!!! Knowing what the Huntsman did to Samule you'd think Mad Jack would be a little more careful for his lingering ghost...
He easily shakes Mad Jack's efforts (and now can not longer be harmed by Jack the Ghost's Malevolence)
The Huntsman looks straight into Jack's eye and Jack feels an aura of pure evil... eyes colder than ice and eyes more terryfing than all they encountered so far.
"Your friends will suffer the same doom quick... they will not reach the Inn"
"BUILD ME A WAY OVER THIS CANYON!!" he bellows to the Trolls (the second one just woke up) "or face... me..."
The Trolls take the rope from the Huntsman and frantically begin trowing it like a lasso towards the opposite side of the bridge with no success... the Hunt is fuming with anger not used to be ridiculised like this hathred is swelling inside him...
In order to pull off his Malevolance stunt Mad Jack needed to become visible (manifest himself)...
The Huntsman backs away 5ft, and fires away at Jack's Ghost... (with a 50% chance that his attack misses)

The rest continues to run now at a slower pace as all seem to hang with Berlon. He is running like never before but the rest can easily keep up with him and don't even need to run (a light hustle is doing just fine -- they won't get fatigued ;-) )
But Olyn's warning is not one to take lightly... up ahead there must be Shadow Mastiffs waiting near the Inn...
(Make spot and listen checks while running my friends... who knows! You may spot them before they ambush you :-D WHUAHAHAHHAA)

Dietrich takes Berlon over his shoulders. 45ft is just too slow... His massive muscles should be enough tho carry a little more weight.
He keeps alert for trouble, bow ready to fire. spot 8, listen 10, but it seems he had to focus all his attention on the gnome...
Vauhwyt and Mookie Monday July 10th, 2006 4:48:41 PM

Berlon 24/39 AC 20 Monday July 10th, 2006 8:35:32 PM
"Oof!"
Berlon goes up over Dietrich's shoulder, and the only thought that enters his head is how much lately he's been feeling much more like a sack of russet potatoes, rather than the more starchy variety.
He thumbs his nose in the general direction of the Huntsman.

Jack the Ghost Tuesday July 11th, 2006 2:23:33 AM
Jack is more than terrified, the arrows actually hurt him. Winking out of sight he then begins to fly rapidly west about 50 feet, then he turns and flies over the canyon. Looks like he shall be in this form until he figures a way to heal himself. Thinkin on it, he flies about 30 feet off the ground as well.
OOC figure he flies 30ft, dont know if I get the same 4x move for fling fast, if not, still on the same side of the canyon, but in Ethereal form. PS Like I wrote to Cayzle, I never read back to see who or what this Saunles character is. Mad indeed!

Round 22: The Last Stand... [DM Inge] Tuesday July 11th, 2006 10:10:29 AM
The group speeds up when Dietrich carries Berlon once again. He weighs a lot, but everything is better than running too slow. The speed increases to 80ft per turn. Vauhwyt quickly catches up and scoops Rose from the ground allowing the little halfling to ride on her back.
Please be mindful for your spells. 5 rounds have passed for you to reach this spot.
Jack too now fears the Huntsaman and quickly dissolves into nothingness flying after the group. Quickly he manages to catch up with the rest of the group... re-united at last! Quickly Rose understands what it was the Huntman was shooting at! Apparently that was Jack's Ghost!!
Behind you no more arrows come flying in thanks to the Wind Wall and thanks to Vauwhyt who destroyed the bridge at her own risk the Hunt can not chase you anymore!! Extremely well done my friends!!
Thanks to Olyn's landmarks the group easily finds the right way towards the Inn and constantly keeps an eye out for trouble.
Then at last in the distance the group spots the Inn! 260ft to go!! Almost there!!! There... only 40ft ahead of you the Hippogriff dropped Jack's body... it's arms and legs twisted in terrible angles... even his spine bends into an angle it normally should not... dried blood and dirt covers the once so proud warrior making the sight even more gruesome...
But... you also see Shadow Mastiffs lurking around the entrance... luckily they did not feast on Jack's remains!!

"Thanks, Rose," says Vauhwyt after receiving the shield spell. Vauhywt moves 70 feet forward to P6. As she moves, she puts away her buckler. (Loose a shield is a free action combined with a move for Vauhwyt.)
Then she sets her spear for a Readied Attack. If any enemy comes within 10 feet, she attacks; if the enemy is charging against her spear, then she does double damage.
Readied Attack -- Hits AC 10 -- a miss
Then if she gets an AoO as the monster closes, she hits AC12 -- also a miss.
She shouts: "Everybody, keep running!"

Round 23: The battle begins... [DM Inge] Wednesday July 12th, 2006 9:52:50 AM
Noticing all the Shadow Mastiffs that are guarding the entrance to the Inn the group prepares for gruesome battle but continues to run towards the Inn.
Vauhwyt readies her spear for attacking any Mastiff that rushes towards her and shouts that everybody should continue to run!
Olyn's faith in his God is restored as once again his prayers are answered as he casts a Bless spell on all. Next he moves forward to the Inn with the group...
Dietrich immediately releases an arror but fails to hit anything before he begins to move.
Thedore decides they will need the Clerics soon and makes Olyn invisible... this will certainly be very helpful for the Half-Elf.
Rose also readies herself for battle...
Vorelle does not waste any time and immediately fires at the nearest Hound.
[Mastiff 7 takes 5HP]
And Berlon, happy to be back with his feet on the ground, also protects his friends.
The Inn is near and steadily the group moves forward -- the slowest ones move at 20ft per turn so I'm expecting you all to stay together?
Jack however towards his body and closely observes the cruel wounds... it feels strange to look down on your mutulated corpse...
You see the Mastiffs hustling towards you (basic movement is 50ft) but as they do several blend into the shadows cast by the lavender moon on whatever minor vegetation there is around here...
(while using their Shadow Blend ability the Hounds have Total Concealment.
If you have line of effect to a target but not line of sight he is considered to have total concealment from you. You can't attack an opponent that has total concealment, though you can attack into a square that you think he occupies. A successful attack into a square occupied by an enemy with total concealment has a 50% miss chance (instead of the normal 20% miss chance for an opponent with concealment).
You can't execute an attack of opportunity against an opponent with total concealment, even if you know what square or squares the opponent occupies. )

After the shoot, DIetrich puts the bow aside and fast-draws the great-sword (free)

Vauhwyt shouts (to Rose and Berlon, especially): "People who move 20 or 15 really really should just double move every round!" Thus the whole group moves 30 or 40 feet forward each round.
Vauhwyt moves 45 feet forward toward the inn, which should put her just in front of the group. She readies her spear again.
Readied Attack -- natural 20! Crits vs AC15. If that's a regular attack, then that hits AC15 and less for 17 and AC16+ for 8. If the foe is charging, then it hits AC15 and less for 33 and AC16+ for 17.
AoO as foe approaches -- hits AC20 for 5 or 9 if foe is charging.

Jack the Ghost Wednesday July 12th, 2006 3:38:06 PM
As Jack studies his own body he realizes he can move it. With renewed concentration he lifts his corpse and moves it toward the inn. Once he has the body in toll, he then rushes it onto the porch of the inn.
"Ok friends, Dont worry about my body, run!"
Noticing Berlon is the slowest of the group, Jack focuss his attention on the gnome.
"Berlon prepare to fly!"

Pullin a scroll from his tube he casts a Daylight spell on the shield strapped to his back!!
Immediately all Mastiffs that seemed to have dissapeared somewhat earlier become visible again!! Fantastic! Now they can't close in unseen!!
Olyn remains in the center of the group so his Daylight spell radiates from him engulfing all his friends in this protective ring... No Hounds will remain unseen once they enter that circle!
Now things become easier for the group. Aided by the Daylight, Bless and Prayer spells from the party clerics Dietrich is able to aim particularly well as he picks the Mastiff that is closest to him...
[Mastiff 2 takes 24 HP]
Then he readies his Great-Sword for the confrontation that will most likely become up close and personal the very next round...
"Friends, now we´ll have to battle the beasts. The faster ones, don´t just continue running, stay together in our battle-order!" says the battle hardened warrior to his friends...
Vayhwyt trots slightly ahead of the group and readies her spear... should Mastiff 7 engage her he'll be sorry he ever tried!
Vorelle tries to shoot one of the Hounds but she rushes her shot and it flies wide... Berlon does his best to increase the party speed to 30ft. Theodore summons a figment of the Elf that died at the hand of the Huntsman and makes it run due South.
Jack the Ghost was granted two special abilities and chose Malevolence and Telekineses -- manifestation is an automatic ability -- so instead of having someone carrying around his corpse he lifts his body. But instead of rushing it to the Inn Jack can only make it float at 20ft per round. (Jack and his body are hovering above the group -- even though they seem to be together with the group)
Rose quietly moves along with the group.
Mastiff 7 closes in on Vauhwyt (not rushing) and crashes on her Spear... the tip enters deep into the flesh and rips open the Hounds's chest... an infernal roar accompanies the beasts further attempt to attack Vauhwyt but the liontaur takes an Attack of Opportunity dealing another serious wound...
[Mastiff 7 takes 22 Hp]
Now grieviously wounded the Mastiff takes a last attempt and attacks Vauhwyt (bite hits AC12) but it's wounds proove to be too much for the creature to be able to do any damage to Vauhwyt...
Mastiff 4 doesn't pay attention to the Elf that passes by but instead takes an intrest in the Halfling that is hanging behind the group... He moves forward and attacks! (bite hits AC24 for 8Hp)
[Rose takes 8Hp]
Having successfully attacked Rose the Mastiff attempts to Trip the little Halfling!
(Trip hits Touch AC27 -- NAT20) (Trip Check: 19)
[According to the Woldian Special Attack rules concerning Trip attacks Rose is definetely tripped and lays prone on the ground! (standing up is a Move Action)]

Berlon 24/39 AC 20 - Prayer 5r d20+10=29 d8+3=6 Thursday July 13th, 2006 6:02:14 PM
Berlon takes a 5' step west, then brings his mace down at the mastiff (#4).
MW Heavy Mace attack hits AC 29 for 6 damage.
If the beast goes down, the gnome will move 15' closer to inn. If not, he will stand his ground and try to help end the fight.
Vauhwyt feels the healing power enter her and is very glad. "Thanks again, Olyn!" she shouts.
With the Shield spell, she can use her shield hand to hold her spear. That leaves her spiked gauntlet and her armor spikes available to attack with. Not to mention her paws. But before that, she shouts, "Mookie! Put a trick behind that one!"
Mookie and the unseen servant hurl a fuzzy ball (the 6th this week) from the Rust Bag of Tricks to Q6. A roll of 70 says that it is a boar. The boar tries to rip into Hound M10, but it misses (hits AC10).
But more importantly, Vauhwyt is now flanking M10. She attacks with gauntlet, armor spikes, and two paws. She is -1 to hit since her dex is reduced due to fatigue, but she is +4 to hit due to flanking, bless, and prayer, for a net +3 to her PC sheet.
Her armor spikes rip the hound (AC25) for 6 plus 8 sneak attack damage plus 1 from the prayer. (15 total)
Her spiked gauntlet hits AC17 for 4 plus 3 sneak attack plus 1 from the prayer (8 total).
Her left paw hits AC14 for 4 plus 3 sneak attack plus 1 from the prayer (8 total).
And her deadly right paw hits AC16 for 2 plus 6 sneak attack damage plus 1 from the prayer (9 total)

[Mastiff 4 takes 6Hp]
Vauhwyt, thankfull for the healing, calls out to Mookie to throw a fuzzy ball behind Mastiff 10. Behind it, a Boar springs to life ready to fight the Mastiff that threathens her. Vauhwyt's full attack bring down Mastiff 10!

OOC1 - Flanking gives a +2 bonus, not +4 (pg 152-153 PHB). Also, by the battlemap Inge, where you have the 2 Mastiff's attacking Vauhwyt, it is not considered flanking. OOC2 - There is a Woldian rule that states people of a Trip dont get to make an opposed check? Can you direct me to that because I cant seem to find that ruling. All I see is the rule where it says Rose would get to make an opposed roll (pg 158 PHB).
Seeing that Vauhwyt has well enough at hand for the moment, Olyn diverts his attention to the rest of the battleground. Spying Rose hurt but with 2 comrade in arms with her, Olyn shouts out to them. Heal her, give her a potion, do something, Im gonna go help Berlon and then moves behind him. [OOC to Inge and Rosie: On second thought, Shield is a Self-Only spell. You can't cast it on someone else. So thanks, Loretta, but I've taken it off my AC. Inge, if any attack on me would have hit AC18, you might want to roll me some damage.]

Theodore & Macaw HP 21/26 AC 17 (mage armor, dodge, invisible) Sunday July 16th, 2006 11:30:00 AM
Invisible Theodore stays with the group, moving slowly along with them. The frustration is starting to rise, as the inn is clearly in sight, just beyond their enemies
He keeps the image of the elf where it is, and now the image draws his imaginary sword and attempts to defend himself against the one mastiff.

Berlon 33/39 AC 20 - Prayer 4r Sunday July 16th, 2006 2:18:40 PM
Between Rose's devastating attack and Olyn's healing, Berlon decides it's time to try to get closer to the inn. He will make a double move (30') closer to the inn, avoiding any beasties he can.
Vorelle [AC 19; HP 21/57] d20+10=14 d20+10=16 d20+5=14 d20+5=16 d6+2=6 d6+1=6 d6+2=6 d6+1=3 Sunday July 16th, 2006 5:28:31 PM
Now flanking the Mastiff with Rose, Vorelle lashes out with both axes. She draws blood several times.
[Still attacking defensively, hit AC 14 for 6 damage; hit AC 16 for 6 damage; hit AC 14 for 6 damage; hit AC 16 for 3 damage.]

The invisible Olyn manouvres behind Berlon and calls upon Wardd once again to heal the little gnome. Berlon didn't see this one coming, but it sure is welcome!
Instead of going further to the Inn Jack mistakingly takes the B for Boar for the B for Berlon and drops his own body on top of the Mastiff...
(treat like a fallen object and his body deals 1d6 damage to the Hound)
(Mastiff 8 takes 5Hp damage)
Rose takes flanking potition to the Mastiff that made her trip earlier and does some serious damage!
(Mastiff 4 takes 17HP)
Vauhwyt skillfully dodges the Attack of Opportunity from both of the Mastiffs!!
( Vauhwyt needs to make a check vs each opponent - second opponent is at a +2 vs DC25 to successfully dodge the AoO -- I've rolled for this second AoO -- Tumble check 32 -- NAT20 -- DAMN)
And now flanks Mastiff 8 to whoom she delivers yet a minor blow.
9Mastiff 8 takes another 6Hp damage)
Even a Boar can do better than this! The Boar makes a Gore attack and deals yet another 11 HP to this poor doggy!
(Mastiff 8 takes 11HP extra damage! -- yet it still stands!)
Theodore concentrates more vs the Mastiff that is chasing the imaginary elf and now draws the "Elf's" greatsword! The blade shimmers in the pale lavender moonlight and seems menacing enough...
Vorelle puts Mastiff 4 to sleep with a few well aimed blows from her axes... Blood gushes all over her as she slices the Mastiff to little pieces.
(Mastiff 4 is DEAD)
Mastiff 6 tries to bite Dietrich with his last strength (Bite hits AC20 -- 9HP) and then attempts to Trip the warrior (Trip check 21 -- Dietrich's Trip DC is 10 + 4 STR + 0 + 0 = 14 and it effectively tripped. He lays Prone on the ground! )
(Dietrich takes 9HP and is Prone on the ground)
Mastiff 7 attacks Dietrich from behind while he is Prone on the ground! (hits AC26 -- 10HP -- Defender has AC-4 while on the ground.)
(Dietrich takes 10HP)
Mastiff 9 closes in on Vauhwyt and attempts to avoid her AoO and then tries to bite her. (Bite hits AC11 -- Miss)
Mastiff 3 takes another try at the Liontaur and it's bite hits AC26 -- 6HP and also tries to make the Liontaur fall! (Trip check 24 / Vauhwyt's Trip DC is 10 + 5DEX + 4(large) + 4 (more than 2 feet) = 23 / Vauhwyt also falls to the ground and is Prone!)
(Vauhwyt takes 6HP and is Prone on the ground)
Mastiff 8 is badly hurt by the Boar in front of him so attacks it and it's bite hits AC9 -- miss.
Mastiff 5 also attacks the Boar -- Bite hits AC27 -- NAT 20 -- Crit check AC18 -- Damage 17). Again the Mastiff tries to make the Boar fall to the ground (Trip check DC23 -- Boars Trip DC is 10 + 2 + 0 + 4 = 16 / Boar falls!)
(Boar takes 17 HP -- and is Prone on the ground)
Wolf, the one that first followed Vorelle is moving around the battle...
Mastiff 1 bites the figment in front of him but STILL doesn't realise it's only an image!! (Will save 9)
4) When defending against a special attack, it is assumed that the target of the attack takes ten on all opposed checks. If a player anticipates using a special attack, he or she should tell the DM as soon as possible so the DM can post a special attack DC (the opposed-taking-ten-roll) that the target uses. If a character habitually uses a special attack, the DM might want to post targets' special attack DCs when posting target armor classes. Note that player characters are also assumed to take ten when defending against special attacks.
Especially here on the Board it would make battles too clumsy if everytime the DM would have to say "If you fail you Trip check then ... or else ..." Thus the special Woldian Rules.
If you want to avoid "taking 10 on trip DC's" make a roll for it.

[OOC: Inge, remember that with her fatigue, Vauhwyt has a dex penalty, so her Trip DC is a 22, not a 23.]
Vauhwyt sees that if she stands, three hounds will get AoOs on her. Bleck! So she stays prone and lashes out at Hound 8, the one she is still flanking.
She is at -4 to hit and -4 AC due to being prone.
She strikes out lamely, hitting only AC15 for 8.

An Invisible Olyn moves to position himself directly behind Deitrich and upon doing so he pulls out his last scroll from his scroll tube. Reading the words aloud, and calling upon Wardd once again, Olyn almost stumbles with the spell but catches himself before losing it. (rolled a 2 for %, used hero point to reroll, getting a 95) Reaching out and touching Deitrich's left shoulder, a wave of warmth seeps into the warrior, Healing him for 28 points. Laying on the ground Vauhwyt realises getting up would allow the Mastiffs a free attack on her! Somwhat clumsy she attempts to continue the fight while prone but it prooves to be more difficult than she imagined. As the boar too is prone on the ground it's gore attack hits AC12 instead of AC16 so the boar does no damage.
Dietrich too lays on the ground facing the same overwhelming odds as Vauhwyt but even when prone the strong warrior manages to kill Mastiff 6. The dead body falls over the proud warrior and drenches Dietrich's clothes in deep dark blood.
(Mastiff 6 is DEAD)
Rose comes too late as the belly of Mastiff 6 is allready ripped wide open by Dietrich's blade.
Still invisible Olyn heals Dietrich as he lays heavily wounded on the ground. Strong healing powers swarm throug Dietrich's body as he's healed for 28HP!
Theodore then takes Dietrich by the hand and pulls him back 5ft getting the warrior back on his feet again! (Dietrich is back on his feet)
Berlon then finishes the last Mastiff that was threathening Dietrich.
(Mastiff 7 is DEAD)
Vorelle positions herself to protect Dietrich but she quickly sees he's allready being helped most effectively.
Jack's ghost looks down on his own body in the frenzy without moving (Jack's ghost now needs to wait 3 turns before using Telekinesis again)
Mastiff 9 bites down on Vauhwyt ( Bite hits AC20 -- 8HP) and so do Mastiff 3 (Bite hits AC20 -- 5HP) and Mastiff 8 (Bite hits AC27 -- NAT20 -- no crit -- 10HP)
(Vauhwyt takes 23HP damage)
Mastiff 5 bites down on the boar again (bite hits AC15 -- Boar AC now 11 -- 7HP)
(Boar takes 7HP - Boar 1HP left )
Wolf makes a wide circular movement while running (base speed 50ft)
Mastiff 1 bites down on the "Elf" before him and as his jaws painfully crash together he finally realises he's biting down on a ghost! He turns away from the "Elf" and begins to close in on the group again...
Dietrich; AC 19, HP 39/60, blessed, luck d20+12=24 2d6(1+4)+12=17 Tuesday July 18th, 2006 10:49:24 AM
Dietrich feels the godly power healing him and someone putting him on his feet! Though he can´t see who just helped him, he sure is thankful for it!
The fighter doesn´t really care about all the blood, as he´s quite used to that kind of mess. He moves to P9 and attacks hound 9C at its flank, putting some extra power in the blow (+ 2 flank, powerattack +2 damage, -2 to hit) Hits ac 24, damage 17

[Double move, staying at least 10' from the Mastiffs to avoid the AoO. I'd give the exact coordinates, but I've forgotten which way the Inn is! LOL!]
Cayzle OOC Late Add Wednesday July 19th, 2006 3:58:18 AM
Oh. A prone tumble is a move action, getting up is a move action, and moving 70 feet is a move action. But I can;t take three move actions in a round. So Vauhwyt tumbles away, then gets up. That's her whole round.
The boar gets up, taking any AoOs that come his way, and if he survives that, he attacks a hound.
Where's Inge? I need to post! I'm having the shakes.

Dietrich launches a devesating attack on a mastiff that is paying too much attention to the prone liontaur (18hp)
Olyn moves under his magical invisibility and is able to sooth Vauhwyt of some of her wounds. The daylight spell shines through the invisibility, clearly showing where Olyn is, yet will the Mastiffs link the bright light to an invisible person?
Berlon also moves to heal, and his magic infuses the Boar with more vitality!
Vauhwyt attempts to tumble away from the mastiffs and stand. Twirling her feet around, she is not fast enough, and red jaws snap at the tawny form (Tumble 10 FAIL, 10 FAIL, 8 FAIL). All three slavering beasts bite at the rising Vauhwyt, yet all that is chomped is air and a bit of fur... ALL MISSED! (AC, 8, 14, 13)
Jack tries to lift his dead carcass from the battle with will alone, yet try as he might, he sees it fail. Instinctively, his ghostly form realizes that he will not be able to use that ghostly power for another 3 minutes...
Rose moves forward and is soon protecting Dietrich's flank. She drinks a potion and sees some wounds close up.
Theodore moves around the melee centered on Vauhwyt and encourages his friends "To the Inn!" says the disembodied voice. His elf image runs after the mastiff, but is not fast enough to catch up (and the mastiff isn't paying attention to it anyways...)
Vorelle works her way north around the pack of Mastiffs, moving toward the Inn. "D-D-D-Dietrich, c-c-come on," she calls. And she surges ahead of her friends, alone.
The Wolf that befriended Vorelle earlier spies with red eyes the ranger breaking away from the pack, and he surges forward. Streaking across the ground, the gray beast circles Vorelle and cuts her off from the Inn. Yet, something is really strange... the Wolf is clearly not allowing Vorelle to get to the Inn, but it is not growling... it is whimpering!
Mastiff 9C whirls and goes for Dietrich's throat, missing! (AC 15)
Mastiff 5 continues to worry the boar with a nip at its snout (AC 16, 6 HP)
Mastiff 8 sees an opening and plunges his jaws into the boar (AC21, CRIT, 19 hp) The boar barely has time to squeal before its throat is ripped out and red blood fountains into the lavender sky!
Mastiff 1 runs low and catches up to little Rose (AOO Rose), it's teeth snapping mere inches from her legs.
And from the direction of the collapsed bridge, a hunting horn is sounded...
Dietrich; AC 19, HP 38/60, blesse, luck d20+12=27 2d6(1+3)+10=14 d20+12=16 2d6(2+2)+10=14 Thursday July 20th, 2006 8:04:46 AM
Dietrich´s reaction to the party separating again is:
"¨¨%$&*¨ stay and fight! We won´t outrun the hunting dogs, for Domi´s hammer! We have to kill them fast together and advance, or they´ll continue attacking us from behind, making our escape impossible!"
He attacks the mastiff 9c before him: hits ac 27, damage 14 *should that be enough to finally drop the beast, he attacks the nearest other one (cleave feat): hits ac 16, damage 14
Hopefully the party will destroy this menace quickly, so it can continue moving towards the inn.

Vauhwyt moves to a position from which she can flank a hound, maybe the one attacking Rose? If she needs a tumble check to do so without getting an AoO, then her Tumble check is a 31.
Her attack, raking the spikes on her left arm across the hound, hits AC20 for 8 damage plus 13 sneak attack damage.

Oh, there's no need for Vauhwyt to tumble to a foe! She is standing right next to two of them, and flanking both!
The liontaur attacks Hound 8, who she is flanking with Berlon, and if it dies, she takes a five foot step south and attacks Hound 9C, who she is flanking with Dietrich.
Vauhwyt's spiked armor hits AC18 (not 20) for 8 damage plus 13 sneak attack damage. The -2 to hit is for attacking two-weaponed.
Her spiked gauntlet lashes out as well, hitting AC25 for 3 plus 8 more sneak attack damage. Then she rears back and strikes with paws, hitting AC9 and 10 -- both misses.

[Sheathe axes (move action); draw longbow (free action with Quick Draw feat); shoot at one of the Mastiffs that's still standing (sorry; I've lost track at this point). Hit AC 22 (with the -4 penalty for shooting into melee) for 6 damage.]

Dietrich creates another red slash across Mastiff 9C's flank, but it bares teeth to rend the warrior's flesh.
Vauhwyt rakes her spiked armor across Mastiff 8 staggering the beast who falls unconscious. Whirling the lion-shaped dervish delivers a devesating blow to Mastiff 9c, yet STILL it stands!
Olyn the brightly lit but invisible cleric is truely blessed as the Mastiffs all seem to be too occupied to even notice the walking bright light, and he is able to keep his companions healthy by his healing wand.
Jack manifests so he can talk to his friends "Well folks, I cant lift my body, Would one of you carry it to the inn? Uh oh, horn sounding again, forget the mastiffs and run to the inn!" Going etheral, he rises into the air and looks back towards the bridge. GhostJack sees that there is about 150 feet to get to the Inn, about 850 feet to the bridge. At the edge of the bridge a large man with a bow has just lowered a hunting horn at his side. Around him, are six black four-footed shapes. With an arm movement, he sends them streaking a hundred feet closer to the Dirt City heroes!
Vorelle is confused by Wolf's behavior, but ignores the animal to test her shooting ability. Firing at the closest Mastiff, she strikes the severely wounded 5 and drops the beast!
Berlon free of the Mastiffs, uses his breath to hustle towards the Inn.
Rose slashes at Mastiff 1 drawing a red line across its muzzle. Growling, it bares yellowed teeth at the halfling.
Theodore moves invisibly towards the Inn, all too close to the slavering Mastiffs! Do they notice an invisible person moving close by? (Spot: 11, 9) No! Theodore is safe!
Wolf whimpers, then growls as if the beast is of two different minds. He makes a couple of abortive charges at Vorelle, then sees the armored form of the gnome away from the others. The conflict within the Wolf seems to resolve itself, and the gray animal stalks towards Berlon...
Mastiff 9c feels death closing in, but the pack mentality is strong. Whirling, it faces Vauhwyt to take the liontaur down. Teeth rend, puncturing a foreleg (AC18) Vauhwyt 8 Damage
Mastiff 1 flanks Vauhwyt, also trying to bring down the biggest prey. (Rose gets an AoO against Mastiff 1) but it misses (AC 14)
Mastiff 3 takes a five foot move to surround Vauhwyt, and teeth seek to hamstring the hero. AC 25,Vauhwyt 10 damage

In Real Character Tim I resmble that remark!!
I'm thinking our gang name should reflect our longevity, hahaha.

Vorelle [AC 17; HP 21/57] d20+7=12 Friday July 21st, 2006 7:04:52 PM
Vorelle repositions to get a better shot, then fires at one of the wolves. She has to be careful not to hit her friends, though, so the shot misses.

Olyn ac22, hp69, Invisible w/ Daylight 2d8(3+8)+4=15 Saturday July 22nd, 2006 3:13:55 AM
** Bless is no longer active **
Olyn walks over to Vorelle, aims his wand at her, and speaks the command trigger to Heal her for 15 points.
*side note: I figure that since everyone else I keep healing is moving closer and closer to the Inn, and I have to move to them, that Im hoping Im moving closer to the Inn too. Reason I say this, I still cannot access a map*
[DM Steve: darn map! I'm assuming that as long as you say Olyn is moving forward with the group, then it is done. For healing Vorelle, she moved out rather quickly and is exposed on the extreme left flank of the party. Olyn won't be able to get to her in one movement if you want to change his action]
Jack the Ghost Saturday July 22nd, 2006 5:53:04 AM
Jack continues to study his body. Slowly he is able to lift it once again, and moves with it closewr to the inn.

[OOC: I'm a little confused about the map. Is Rose flanking Hound 9C with Vauhwyt? If she can flank with a five foot move, she will.]
Vauhwyt makes a full round of attacks on Hound 9C --
-- armor spike hits AC17 for 2 plus MAYBE 2 sneak att dam.
-- gauntlet spike hits AC17 for 3 plus MAYBE 8 sneak att dam.
-- paw hits AC22 for 2 plus MAYBE 10 sneak att dam.
-- paw hits AC21 for 4 plus MAYBE 2 sneak att dam.
If the enemy dies, and Vauhwyt can apply the attacks to another hound, great.
[DM SteveK: Rose isn't, but Dietrich is! sneak attack away!]
loretta Saturday July 22nd, 2006 6:27:30 PM
cayzle I thought we only got 1 sneak attack per round, if not let me know because rose would have had a sneak attack on the aoo.
Cayzle to Loretta OOC Sunday July 23rd, 2006 12:53:57 AM
Every attack that qualifies can be a sneak attack, even more than one per round.
If you catch a foe flat-footed or surprised, then after the first sneak attack, the foe is no longer surprised and therefore subsequent attacks are not sneak attacks.
But if you are flanking a foe, or if you are using Blink or Greater Invisibility, or if you are firing with total concealment (as out of a Tiny Hut), or if the foe is off balance and remains off balance (in a Grease spell, for example), or if your target is being grappled by a third party, or in many other cases, then ALL attacks can be sneak attacks.
Here are the two things you need to know: Is the target deprived of his Dex bonus to AC? Are you flanking it? If either answer is yes, then you are sneak attacking.
BigTim Sunday July 23rd, 2006 3:59:00 AM
So, If I catch the guy at the sammich counter offguard, ie flatfooted, does that mean I should get my sammich for free or at a reduced fare?
Cayzle Sunday July 23rd, 2006 6:01:32 AM
Only if you are a rogue! But we all know you are very roguish, Big Tim!
DM Steve Sunday July 23rd, 2006 6:04:30 AM
Can anyone teach me how to link the battlemap to the board so we don't have map problems?
Cayzle: Steve, I'll e-mail you.

Dietrich will attack any hound near, 9C if still alive (ooc: just confirming, it was already damaged 32 hp by Dietrich alone), or the nearest one, moving 5ft if necessary, and flanking if possible.
hits ac 17 (19 if flanking), damage 11 (+6 sneak if flanking)
The warrior hears the horn and knows it means no good, but there is no choice besides getting rid of the mastiffs in their way.

Round 29 "Mastiff Burgers" [DM SteveK] d20+7=15 d20+7=12 d20+8=11 d20+7=18 d20+7=9 d20+1=3 Monday July 24th, 2006 12:00:19 AM
Vorelle moves south to get a better shot and crosses paths with Wolf. The red-eyed beast turns as if to snap jaws on this opportunity, but then sees Vorelle and shies away. Vorelle moves on, but after this strange encounter and wanting to avoid shooting her friends, her aim is off and the arrow goes harmlessly into the lavender colored night.
Rose was able to wound Mastiff 1 with her opportunity, but she sees it was far from dead. Nevertheless, she looks at an advantage herself and maneuvers beside Vauhwyt to attack. Unfortuneately, her maneuvers take her making more than a five foot step near not one, but two of the Mastiffs! Jaws hunger for tearing flesh snap at the halfling (AOO M9C 15, AOO M1 12; missed). Rose retaliates with a wicked cut into 9c's hindquarters. The Mastiff howls at the moon one last time before slowly collapsing, the thirsty ground drinking its fill of blood.
Olyn invisibly moves around the fighting and towards Vorelle. He can't get to her, and the light from his shield still encompasses the whole field of battle, and in moving close to Mastiff 1, the beast doesn't notice anything wrong with a self-moving light! How stupid can a mastiff get? (Spot 8)
Jack uses his ghostly powers of Telekinesis to lift his heavy body and bring it 20 feet closer to the Inn. Floating as he is, he has a very good view of the approaching Hunt.
Vauhwyt sees Mastiff 9C dies before she can attack, and so spins to confront Mastiff 1, laying into the beast with all her attacks and shredding the beast until it is a bloody pulp upon the ground!
Dietrich' swift friends have dealt with two more Mastiffs, and there is only one unwounded Mastiff and Vorelle's Wolf barring thier way to the Inn. Dietrich has to make a full move to come around and get at a flank, and leaves himself open for the shadowy creature to strike first, just missing (AOO; 18) Dietrich responds with and ugly cut along its flank.
Theodore stays where he is invisible. He can tell that Vorelle has joined him, and the invisible, light-carrying Olyn, and he sees the Inn only 130 feet away. Can they make it before the Hunt catches up?
Berlon stands still, confronted by Vorelle's Wolf friend. It helped them in the crystal woods, yet is hindering them here. The gray beast looms over the gnome, and Berlon waits for friends, or is it to see some action on whether the wolf means him harm?
The last Mastiff growls with frustration, and death is in its eyes. Yet it gathers itself to take its enemy with it, and leaps for Vauhwyt. Misjudging its wound, the mastiff misses. Surrounded by foes, it howls in frustration. (All Heroes must make a Will save vs DC 13 or become panicked. This mastiff hasn't howled before)
The Wolf bares its teeth at Berlon and gathers itself for the leap, but its ears lay back at the howling of the Mastiff (Will 3) and, panicked, runs away from the hound and towards the Inn.
Six more shadowy forms streak across the lavender painted landscape, only 650 feet from the Inn. A man-sized form also runs behind...

Dietrich resists the effects of the howling (will 16) and makes ready to deliver the coup-de-grace to the animal, putting some extra power at the blow (powerattack, +2 damage, -2 to hit, +2 flank):
hits ac 31, damage 17, critical 51!
If the mastiff is finally dead, the warrior continues moving to the inn as fast as possible, running in zig zag to make it more difficult to hit him with arrows.
Berlon 33/39 AC 20 Monday July 24th, 2006 1:43:24 PM
Berlon will move another 45' closer to the inn, avoiding any enemies in his path.
Vauhwyt Monday July 24th, 2006 3:48:43 PM
The liontaur ignores the beast's howl (immune to fear).
"Great hit!" she laughs when she sees Dietrich's blow.
She grabs Jack's body, since 20 feet a round is much too slow. Then she moves 70 feet closer to the inn.
Jack the Ghost d20+3=17 Monday July 24th, 2006 6:14:00 PM
Jack sees the liontaur grab his body and move to the inn. He flies after her, covering 60ft.

Theodore & Macaw HP 21/26 AC 17 (mage armor, dodge, invisible) d20+7=27 Monday July 24th, 2006 9:19:01 PM
Theodore is simply too tired of this realm to be frightened. (Will 27) I just want to go home, he thinks.
This time, he runs the rest of the way to the inn. (Can move up to 180')
He moves the image of the elf directly in front of the oncoming Huntsman and his pack to see if it will divert their attention. (Will vs 16 to disbelieve if enacted with)

Vorelle [AC 17; HP 21/57] d20+4=13 Monday July 24th, 2006 11:58:58 PM
Vorelle trembles all over at the howling of the Mastiff, but just barely manages to hang onto her courage [Will 13 on the nose! Let's hear it for Bless!]
Seeing that her companions have the Mastiff fight well in hand, she begins an orderly retreat towards the Inn.
[Double move toward the Inn.]
Round 30 "The Last Full Measure" [DM SteveK] d20+8=25 d20+6=19 d20+2=17 Tuesday July 25th, 2006 12:14:22 AM
OOC: to avoid non-movement in a situation where it could easily get them killed, I will do minimum character actions instead of leaving them standing in the field. If a Player would rather I not force thier character into what I consider common sense actions, please tell me :)
Olyn invisibleHighlight to display spoiler: {moves 30 feet closer to the Inn and touches Vorelle with his healing wand, providing a lttle more life to be sucked out by this hellish place. (70 feet from Inn)}
Dietrich's overhead blow strikes true and splits the front half of the Shadow Mastiff in twain! Blood, entrails, and bits of gray matter fly in every direction and the howling ceases abruptly. He then continues to move to the Inn, jinking and weaving. (115 feet from Inn)
Berlon overcomes the mastiff's magical howl (DM rolled Will: 25) and the gnome's legs churn as he uses his last full measure to try and make it to the inn. (80 feet from Inn)
Vauhwyt sees that Jack's body will never get to the Inn on time, and grabs the mangled carcass to run to safety herself. (70 feet from Inn)
Jack hovers after his body, intending to be part of the group dead or alive! (65 feet from Inn)
Theodore invisible Highlight to display spoiler: {runs full tilt to the Inn and is able to make it to the doors. Before getting there, the doors open invitingly. Inside, Theodore sees yellow lamplight, tables, chairs, and even patrons sitting enjoying themselves. They look up, startled, to see the chase that is coming for the Inn but make no move to interfere. Theodore runs up to the doorway... and bounces off! He definitely feels that he should be able to get through, and is also certain that the Inn will be safe, but it is like there is an anchor that prevents Theodore from achieving that safety. Something that cannot cross from Koshe-Marr to the Inn of Quiet Repose. Something in his keeping... (0 feet from Inn)}
Rose,(DM move) knowing safety lay at the Inn, the halfling shrugs off the mastiff's howl (DM rolled Will: 19) and hastens after her friends (double move). (115 feet from the Inn)
Vorelle (DM move), knowing safety lay at the Inn, the ranger shrugs off the mastiff's howl (DM rolled Will: 17) and hastens towards the Inn ahead of her friends (double move). (60 feet to Inn)
Wolf continues to be panicked from the last howl of the Mastiff, and cowers behind the door. Yet his head comes up, red eyes blazing, as if he hears another's voice, another's command. Stiff legged, Wolf moves to block the doors to the Inn, hackles raised and teeth barred. (0 feet from Inn)
Six more shadowy forms streak across the lavender painted landscape, only 550 feet from the Inn. A man-sized form also runs behind, keeping pace with the hounds of the Hunt.
DM Steve: LOL, let's have a spoiler for those invisible people... :)
Olyn Tuesday July 25th, 2006 2:53:55 AM
double moves to the inn, hoping to make it through the open doors. attempting to hurdle the Wolf blocking the way in the process.
Rose Tuesday July 25th, 2006 6:25:02 AM
Rose runs towards the inn as fast as she can.

Dietrich; AC 19, HP 55/60, luck Tuesday July 25th, 2006 8:09:50 AM
Dietrich continues running full speed towards the inn (80ft). He looks up and is already thanking Domi.
The warrior sheaths his sword (free fast-draw) and takes the bow, while running. It is not over yet... He sees that Theo didn´t enter the inn, but he´ll think about that once he gets there.
Vorelle [AC 17; HP 33/57] Tuesday July 25th, 2006 9:10:36 AM
Vorelle continues her orderly retreat towards the inn. [Double move]
Theodore & Macaw HP 21/26 AC 17 (Dodge, mage armor, & invisibility) Tuesday July 25th, 2006 10:14:47 AM
Invisible Theodore stumbles and almost falls when he runs into the unseen barrier. He almost panics but quickly remembers the Huntsman's sword he has been draggin all this time.
I cannot take it with us. Theodore's disappointment lasts for but a half a second. Taking the rope that they had attached to the sword hilt, he swings the blade above his head a couple times and lets the sword fly to the south. He then quickly tries to enter the inn again.
Olyn aka the devil's advocate Tuesday July 25th, 2006 1:11:43 PM
Question for some of you. May sound harsh but its not. Do you really read other people's posts before reacting? Reason I ask, how can you react to Theo's actions when he is INVISIBLE. Hence my post, Since I can't see him, but can see the wolf, am attempting to hurdle the wolf to gain access to the Inn. Had I seen Theo go plop while trying to enter, I'd of acted differently. So, Please, Everyone, really really read someone's posts before reacting. This isnt the first time reactions were made upon someone else's actions when we couldn't possible have known about. I am one of these people and am forcing myself to read and reread before making my post.
End of the public announcement.
Vauhwyt rewrite! Tuesday July 25th, 2006 1:25:28 PM
[OOC: LOL! Tim you are so right! Holy smokes! I can't believe I dropped the ball on that! Let's try again! Please ignore my earlier post.]
Vauhwyt sees the Hunter coming fast! She figures any delay is a good thing. So she urges Mookie to use the Bag of Tricks one more time! The familiar, aided by the Unseen Servant, tosses the fuzzy ball 20 feet toward the pursuit and draws forth a Wolverine! Mookie commands it to attack the Hunter! It speeds off, running 120 feet (it ends the round 210 feet from the Inn). Vauhwyt figures that any round in which the Hunter attacks is a round in which he is not running.
Then Vauhwyt moves 70 feet closer (move action), right up to the Inn. She looks for the gypsies who said they would meet the group here. She looks for the girl, Jillia, and hopes that she has entered. She looks at the wolf still blocking the door.
How big is the Inn? Is it a building? With how big a perimeter? Is it square in shape? Most of all, are there any other entrances, windows, or the possibility of anything that might give cover against those deadly arrows?
She wants to enter, but will she be able to come back out? She decides to wait for the others to pass through. But she does toss Jack's body through the door.
She sees the sword Theo throws appear out of nowhere and land on the ground. She calls out, "Theo? Are you therre? What's up?"
Jack the Ghost Tuesday July 25th, 2006 5:52:51 PM
Jack follows Vauhwyt again, moving his alotted 60 feet.
OOC I think the invisible thing was Steves error. Since he took over for Inge in the middle of this encounter, I assumed he didnt know or forgot. So i am happy Tim noticed as well, we often just read the dms post. Nice eye.
Berlon 33/39 AC 20 Tuesday July 25th, 2006 10:55:40 PM
Shaking off the effects of the eerie howl, Berlon keeps pumping his little legs as fast as he can, making a double move towards the Inn.
Round 31 "The Last Full Measure?" [DM SteveK] d20+3=14 d20+17=25 d20+13=15 d20+7=12 d6+9=12 Wednesday July 26th, 2006 3:54:44 PM
Invisible Olyn Highlight to display spoiler: {hastens to the Inn, hoping to make it through the open doors, but as fast as he can go, he is still 20 feet away from the open doors.}
Rose runs towards the inn as fast as she can, her small legs churning. Breath comes in short gasps and a stitch is developing in her side, but she is only 35 feet away from the doorway!
Dietrich continues running full speed towards the inn, neck and neck with little Rose and the comforting feel of his bows smoothed wood in hand. (35 feet form the doorway)
Vorelle continues her orderly retreat towards the inn, and comes face to muzzle with Wolf, who bars her way.
As Theodore tosses the Huntmans shortsword away to the south, the blade becomes visible in the air, then landing, its razor tip sticking out of the ground 15 feet from the Inn's doors. Then invisible Highlight to display spoiler: {he passes the doorway into the Inn's main room. He quickly spies the gypsies and the lass who all rise to thier feet in silent applause. Another older couple look on in approval as well as a hooded stranger nearer the fire. Theodore discovers his invisibility has been stripped away.}
Mookie uses the Unseen Servant to pull a Wolverine from his little bag of tricks and sends the low-slung beast to kill the Huntsman... good luck! It speeds to 210 feet from the Inn.
Vauhwyt moves up, one arm around Jack's mangled corpse, and looks over the Inn. It appears to be made of rough-hewn logs and is generally square in shape, say, about 50 feet on a side. In the center of the western wall (facing the approaching party) there is a set of double doors, currently open. To either side of the doors are large bay windows that show the comforting scenes of a fire and lamp lit common room. There are people inside, but they are indistinct and you can't make out identifying marks. Nevertheless, she underhands Jack's body through the door (DM Roll:AC 14) and it clumsily passes through the opening. She sees the sword Theo throws appear out of nowhere and land on the ground. She calls out, "Theo? Are you therre? What's up?"
Jack the manifested ghost is right behind Vauhwyt until the moment his body passes through the door and then... he disappears! Highlight to display spoiler: { GhostJack finds himself floating over his body inside the Inn. He also finds that his feet are anchored to his body. He quickly spies a visible Theodore standing just inside the doorway. Some gypsies and the lass who was at the start of the hunt rise to thier feet in silent applause. Another older couple look on in approval as well as a hooded stranger nearer the fire. }
Berlon only hastens to the Inn (double move) and is falling behind the others, isolated under the lavender moon. (60 feet from the Inn)
Wolf moves five feet to block Vorelle from entering. The gray beast still seems to be fighting some sort of internal battle, and bends its head to the ground. Then, slowly, the head rises to meet Vorelle's eyes, and the red gaze no longer shows the wolf that befriended the ranger and her friends, but that of a malovent will, flaming red eyes brimming with hatred. Yellow teeth peel back from its lips and it gathers itself to leap and tear.
Six black forms continue to speed towards the Inn, only 450 feet to the Inn.
And the human figure stops and sights its bow. Impossibly long, 550 feet away, and the arrows begin to rain down upon the fleeing heroes! Shafts arc out of the lavender night towards Vauhwyt (AC25, 12 damage), Dietrich (AC15), and Vorelle (AC12) (distance modifiers included)

Vorelle [AC 17; HP 33/57] d20+10=28 d20+11=16 Wednesday July 26th, 2006 9:11:52 PM
Vorelle wishes she understood more about magic. She wishes she were wise and clever, like the heroes in tales. But she isn't, and she doesn't understand what's up with this wolf. For a while he acted like a nice wolf, but now he's acting like a dangerous wolf. Is he possessed? Sick? Enchanted? Or perhaps the nice-wolf was the enchanted version and this is the real creature.
Whatever is going on, Vorelle is reluctant to simply fight the beast and risk killing it. She looks it over, trying to figure out what might be going on with it.

Rose continues running towards the inn, as she sees Vorelle stand in front of the door with the wolf blocking her from entering she gives Vorelle a shove to push her through the door as she enters.
Dietrich; AC 19, HP 55/60, luck Thursday July 27th, 2006 8:17:01 AM
Dietrich sees some friends falling behind and is alarmed about the arrows coming down near him. The warrior trusts Vorelle to run away on her own, regardless of her strange relationship with that wolf, and so he continues running in zig zag towrds the inn, passing the doors when possible.

Vauhwyt not wanting to be a pincusion, the liontaur pushes beside the Wolf and enters the Inn. Wicked fangs of the Wolf flash out to attack Vauhwyt as she runs by, the the Wolf is too slow; Vauhwyt is safe!
Vorelle wishes she understood about magic, and, reluctant to kill the wolf, she studies the natural movements of the beast. Yes, there is something wrong here.... reflexes are a tad slow... almost as if the wolf is a puppet dancing to another's tune...

The press at the doors is tremendous with Vauhwyt taking one side and Rose, Dietrich both overrunning Vorelle and the Wolf in order to get into the Inn (Overrun 21) The Wolf has nowhere to go other than backwards, and all four tumble into a heap upon the Inn floor.

With Olyn's help, Berlon gets to the Inn doorway... only to be repelled! He is certain that he should be able to get through like his companions, but there must be something he carries that is holding him back...holding him in the game... with arrows about to fall!
The wolverine runs towards the Hunter, but is engaged by one of the Mastiffs. Now, only five great beasts run towards the Inn, and they put on a burst of speed, now but a mere 250 feet from the doorway.
The hunter himself is heard to howl his anguish; his victims are getting away! Going to rapid fire, arrows arc down on Berlon and the light wielding but invisible Olyn. Four strike at Olyn
arrow 1 Ac36 15 hit arrow 2 AC24 11 miss (invisible) arrow 3 Ac22 12 hit arrow 4 AC35 14 miss (invisible) Olyn takes 27 hit points damage!

Theodore & Macaw HP 21/26 AC 17 (Dodge, mage armor) Thursday July 27th, 2006 4:24:31 PM
Theodore winces as a couple of arrows find their mark on his friends.
Seeing Berlon stall at the door to the inn, the wizard hollers to the gnome, "You have something on you from this realm! Toss it, quickly!"
Berlon 10/39 AC 20 Thursday July 27th, 2006 6:02:59 PM
Hearing Dietrich's words, Berlon looks confused. Did he take the sword? It's so hard to remember. If he did, he drops it. Either way he tries to burst into the inn after the others.
Jack the Ghost Thursday July 27th, 2006 6:15:55 PM
Jack fights down the oncoming panic. He cant move, cant do anything. What now is the question resonating louder and louder in his brain.
Rose Thursday July 27th, 2006 6:45:34 PM
Rose wonders why Berlon cant get in, it cant be because he took something that belongs there. Rose took a piece of crystal from the forest and she got in.
Vorelle Thursday July 27th, 2006 9:25:58 PM
Vorelle picks herself off the floor of the Inn, looking only at the wolf. Tears run down her face as she kneels beside it, giving it an awkward hug.
"I'm s-s-s-s-sorry," she says, hoping somehow that it will understand. "I c-c-c-can't k-k-keep you. If y-you were a d-d-d-dog...." she breaks off, choking back a sob. She thinks about how brave the wolf was to help them all, and how cruel it will be to have to leave it here, and begins crying in earnest.
She should get up, move to join her companions, try to help Berlon and the invisible glow she assumes is Olyn. But she stays, kneeling beside the wolf, arms wrapped around its neck, shedding tears onto its shaggy coat.
[OOC: Vorelle can't have a wolf companion.]
Olyn ac22/23(Hunter) hp42/69, Invisible 2d8(3+5)+4=12 Thursday July 27th, 2006 9:40:12 PM
drops the daylight spell. zaps Berlon for 12 points of healing from the wand.
(Note, am thinking to myself, not saying it out loud)
Wondering to himself: I didnt pick up anything, so I dont possess anything from this realm. Unless, the taint I received is baring me from leaving. (looks to see if there is a discernable spot on himself that would be the taint he received)
Vauhwyt Thursday July 27th, 2006 10:26:52 PM
Vauhwyt steps back and looks aroud the place. She readies an attack ... if that wolf is aggressive, then she will make a touch attack to grab and grapple it.
She calls through the door, "Berlon! Drop Samule!" Then she adds, "Sorry Samule! Better luck next life!"
Dietrich; AC 19, HP 55/60 d20+4=13 d20+4=15 Friday July 28th, 2006 8:19:42 AM
Dietrich is happy to have got to the inn, but still aprehensive, seeing his friends being hit by so many arrows.
As he can´t do anything about it, he puts the bow away and fast-draws the great-sword, be it for the wolf (should it be hostile), be it for any other threat inside the inn. He takes a closer look at the place and its people. spot 13, listen 15
