Toros can feel those radiant stares penetrate his body and soul, however he manages to maintain his composure (d20, 22)...

A flurry of arrows quiver through the air as Nauth watches his companion get battered by the dragon. Tears begin to form in the corners of his eyes.

JohnP- I do not have my character sheet here so I am trying to go off of memory for Nauth's attack and I have no idea for his damage...I can try to roll them late tonight unless you want to roll any applicable damage for me.

Out near the wall, Xenia pours a potion down the throat of the unconscious Appolo and then moves closer to Flame. Maybe she can get a shot in before the dragon turns on her ...
Garrett casts another healing spell, again managing to avoid any distractions.
After being healed, Appolo gets to his feet and sprints across the open area. He knows that the two ballistas on the west side of the gate have been fired by himself and Xenia.
Nauthiz'Ull finally wakes from his trance and drops the alchemical device that he had been preparing to throw at the dragon. Maybe simply dropping the stone wasn't a good idea ... but this time it doesn't go off. The ranger then fires his bow three times at the dragon. His first two shots glance off Flame's tough hide while the third sails harmlessly wide.

Flame moves closer and attacks Garrett once more. Maybe his concentration has wavered as he lost interest in this combat for all but one of his attacks misses the Protector. In the middle of the crowd of students, the third figure looks at Toros and studies him.
"I think that it is time to do this. Who shall be first to take this burden?
Alemi motions and moves closer, followed immediately by Domi. Several of the students press closer.
Toros and the rest of the party can now hear what may be distant thunder. Flame also hears the sound, raising his head and gazing into the distance.

From the darkness, Xenia takes her shot. There's a thunk. But Xenia is already hightailing it out of there. Not much time to even hide. Gotta make it between the buildings. Maybe he can't squeeze in and get her there. And maybe if he tries, he'll be easier to hit. She runs for the space between the buildings.

There is no way for Nauth to get down to ground level now, and there is no way Nauth is going sit idly and watchi his wunjo die. In a rage the man from the Vein lets loose a string of guteral utterances that should make even a dragon blush.
Just as quickly as the words poured from his mouth does three shafts wobble like an overburdened hawk through the air.
Pointing to the skies where some reflecting light caught his eye as he fired the second shot, Nauth yells; "What in Koshe Marr is that? More things that want to kill us?"

"What? What burden...?" What he hears and sees does not make sense for Toros. His perception is open and alert to more immediate, explicit happenings such as that thunder and glinting lights at distance (spot 18+bonuses), while the taur tries to adjust himself to what will happen next in his immediate surrounding and coming from distance. Would he be safe or danger with the future gods? What about the others? Gods!!!
Showdown - Concludes? (DM JohnP) d20+28=31 Tuesday August 29th, 2006 10:03:15 PM Xenia looses an arrow at the dragon and watches it bounce harmlessly off Flame's hide. Darting away, she turns the corner into a space where she thinks that she can hide.
Nauthiz'Ull does the same, shooting at the dragon and watching one of his arrows find a weak spot in it's hide. That doesn't do much more than draw the attention of Flame.
Garrett heals himself once more, hoping to withstand the dragon's assault until his friends can damage or drive it off.
And Appolo climbs up onto the wall and begins loading a ballista. As he does, he curses Flame for needing reinforcements.

The dragon looks up into the sky at the approaching creatures. The sound of the massed creatures is getting louder and louder. Flame, however, turns and bites at Garrett once more, missing again. Then he takes wing, lifting off and flying away from the approaching creatures.

Toros watches as the winged creatures come closer. It is soon obvious why Flame has chosen to flee for none of the party have ever seen or even heard of such a massed horde of gold dragons. The creatures steadily fly closer until they are hovering over the compound.
The third figure gestures to Alemi and Domi. "It is time, you two who have labored so long to contact me. Take up the burden."
Alemi steps forward, with Domi just behind. He motions for the students to step away until an area is cleared in front. Toros is caught up in the press and carried along. Then, the largest of the gold dragons flies closer and lands in front of Alemi. The future god steps closer and presses his hand to the breast of the mighty creature of good. The third figure gestures and a glow surrounds both Alemi and the dragon. Once it fades, Alemi has gone and only the dragon remains.
The dragon speaks, and even though the voice is much deeper and louder, the tones and patterns of Alemi's speech are evident to the listeners.
"Domi, you have followed me for a long time. Join me in this, too, so that we may sweep away Gargalus and his minions, then sweep the gods aside at Jericho's command!"
The gold dragon that now contains Alemi's spirit and soul lifts higher in the air so that a second dragon can land. Domi repeats the process, merging with this dragon. Once the transition is complete, he lifts into the air and hovers protectively beside Alemi.
Dragon-Alemi calls again, "Who of you will join us in this?"

Garrett turns and looks at his companions.
"Only one of us is needed to take the stone back home. There is much greater good I can do with them" gesturing towards The dragons of Alemi and Domi.
Garrett looks at Nauth "It is time for me to go Wunjo. I will follow Domi as I always have, and hopefully help the whole Wold in the process."
Garrett steps forward and answers Alemi "I will go with you."

The girl rogue peers around the corner as the explosion of crimson wings signals Flame's departure. He's gone. Just gone.
Two dragons, gold, both of them, fly up into the sky above the compound. Words drift in on the wind. Something about becoming a golden dragon. One of the dragons asks for those who would join him, and Garrett is going.
But the dark rogue holds back. On the one hand, she can just see it, flying up high in the sky, flying on dragon wings. Swooping down. Being a golden dragon. But in the other hand, she sees Wynn. He's there in the future waiting for her. She sees his face, feels the touch of his hand, she hears the sound of his voice in her heart.
And she wants to go to him.
"I'll stay back," she calls out as Garrett walks to the place where they're doing the dragon thing. "I'll stay down here." And she sprints to the wall where Appolo is loading the Ballista.

Watching all the scene with amazed eyes, Toros finds difficulty to talk...
"Fare well Garrett, I am sure you will succeed and hope you be happy!!"
Then Toros returns back to his friends, now knowing how the future Gods become Gods... Gericko, Alemi, Domi, and Garrett? Well it would be nice if they have a protective friend God, right....
Once having some time, seeing his wounds Toros will heal Appolo with his wand.

Stopping...freezing in place, the rangers soul rips in two. Go and find the path of a true God, or stay and remain the leader of Ice Peak Village; guiding his prophesized people to the next age of greatness in the tundra of the Southern Continent?
His people are prospering greatly, much thanks to their accepting of the Great Bohdi Nackle's Enlightenment. Maybe the Great Nackle will return with Queen Flea and show the villagers of Ice Vein the true powers of the arcane?
Aiden, Lord of the Tusken Watchers, is pretty occupied with the final step in converting the once savage tribe of the Tuskers into a peaceable, nomadic group who lives off of the lands and aids oppression and tyranny wherever they find it.
"I think our wunjos will be fine brother; I wish to see the ways of Alemi and Domi both. I wish to shed the powers of the fickle Gargalus and find the true path. Maybe we shall return to them later?"
The well-seasoned ranger approaches one of the Gold Dragons, one with a nice scar perhaps, and will stroke its muzzle.
"May I join you?"

Many of the students and other instructors push forward to accept Jericho's offer. They each merge with a dragon and then lift off to join Alemi and Domi hovering overhead. After several students and instructors have merged with dragons, a group wing off in pursuit of the fleeing Flame.
When Garrett moves forward, Jericho holds out his hand.
"Go back to your friends. This battle is not for you. You have what you came for. See us off, take the Feystone, and return to your time. You must then decide how to save the Wold in your time using what you have learned here as well as other information that other questers have discovered."
More students join with dragons until there are no more volunteers. Jericho then calls the party down to the ground.
"Stand down. All here thank you for your help. You have given them hope."
The Creator holds out the Feystone towards Garrett.
"You can safely carry this now. Summoning me drained Eberyon nearly unto death. He will sleep until a time far in the future, a day that you know well."
"Now take this hope to the people of your time."
Jericho then waves his hand and Oshirr House fades from view.

When their vision clears, the party find themselves in the great sanctum of Lemtrovex's Temple. The tracks on the floor are still fresh, as if they fought here only minutes ago. But there are no other signs besides the tracks of their fallen companions or their opponents. Just then a silent figure, the ghost priest that approached them before, drifts into the room.
"You have returned. Go now to whence you first came, and use your burden wisely"
Again, the figure gestures and the sanctum fades.

Sound comes first, this time. The sound of a marketplace, with vendors shouting about their wares and people haggling. When the mist clears from their eyes, they find themselves in the marketplace outside the Temple of Gargul in Plateau City. Without being told, everyone feels that their mission is complete.

John, and guys, thank you very much indeed for all. You have done a great DMing and role-playing!! This game has made me realize that I have not still been experienced enough to recognize the real worth of FRP gaming, and I have thought and recognized a lot about role-playing, while you DM and we play. What I can for sure is that DFR2 will be one of the greatest FRP experience for me among the ones not only I have played but will have played. Many thanks for this experience.
