The dumbwaiter was not apparent in the cellar. It is possible that it was behind a pile of crates.
Calor follows the group, but where to.
A decision is made, by Eclip, to go to the other wing of the house.
"Finally!" Says Toothache. "Maybe something will be found."
Moving along the hall, through the conservatory (Wisdom checks please), to the gallery doors. Toothache opens the gallery door leading from the conservatory and the lights come on.
Toothache and Eclip move the group into the curved gallery, the paintings are faded and peeling, save one. This painting is of a very attractive young woman.

Eclip and Spirit move through the conservatory (Wisdom Check+3: DC13) Eclip glances around and stops for a moment but continues on to the gallery. Upon seeing the un-faded painting, Eclip examines it closer trying to determine if it is just newer than the rest of the paintings or if there are any clues to the young woman's identity. "Wonder who she is? Doloff wife maybe?"
Spirit follows along side of Eclip.

The sounds of wind and rain cutting through the broke glass is faint and a little spooky. Time has passed so smoothly that it is hard to know exactly how much time has passed today.

"Can anyone track these? Can anyone look for invisible creatures?"
Gentian tries to rememebr if he saw any flour in the kitchen, or of there is any ash in fireplaces herabouts. Flour or ash might work as low-tech ways to highlight the unseen.

"I remember a rumor that this town wasn't more than a small camp of sorts about 400 years ago. Its said that when they decided to build permanent structures here, nature hindered progress."

The wizard thinks a moment. "So, our best bet is probably find a way to talk with these guys, or find out some other way what has got 'em ticked off."
"Which I'm thinking might be back in them books in the library. Let's keep looking for the stairs going up. That'd be a big help here."
The wizard pushes on to the next room.

With the talk of Fey, Eclip thinks back to what nature lore he knows about Fey and how to deal with them (Nature knowledge check+11: DC 31). Just on the off chance eclip calls out to the Fey in Druid and then Sylvan, "Fey, we wish to talks about any grievances you may have with this house or the people who have lived here!" Once they move on to the gallery, Eclip will examining the lady's picture that is un-faded and also cast detect magic to search for magic effects in the gallery.
Spirit tags along at Eclips side.

Gentian bows to Eclip. The halfling knows just enough about fey lore to know that he is out of his league. Maybe Eclip CAN get them to talk.

Everyone is sure the dwarf was just confused.
Calor and Eclip pretty much realize fey magic is being cast. The air is filled with it.
Toothache shakes his head, dazed. A faint music begins; haunting string instruments. Toothache looks at his leg attempting to brush away something. Almost immediately the rogue begins tap dancing, even more confused.
Lenoir gets a tingle through his body. (Will save DC 14 for flee from the conservatory)
Still, no one sees anything.
"Leave outlanders and you will not be harmed." Says a highpitched, disembodied female voice.
This form of diplomacy may not be effective.

Eclip cast detect magic in order to locate the location of the fey by their magic auras. As he scans he continues to talk to the fey, "We were sent here by the elemental powers because of something to do with the coming full moon. We can't leave until we know what is to happen and what we are to do about it."

Gentian calls out, "Tricks are no good! Come out, you fey, and show yourselves! We are here to make you quit this place! Come, maybe we can cut a deal. Either that or we will make you go!"
Gentian uses his keen hearing to locate the fey: Listen checks: 20, 29, 24.
He draws an animal from his Rust Bag of Tricks and tries to put it near the female fey voice: a Boar!
Gentian reads a Speak with Animals scroll. He tells the boar and his Riding Dog to find the fey with their scent.
He tells his Bat Familiar to find the fey using his blindsense. He gives the bat a cold iron bullet to hold with the Hand of the Mage it is wearing, and to hover the bullet over the fey.
Finally, Gentian gets out a cold iron bullet and loads it in his sling. He is ready to hurl it at any fey that his animal friends (or his own ears) locate.
He also orders the boar to gore any fey he smells.

Eclip's Detect Magic round one: there are magical auras everywhere. None moving.
The voice seems to be coming from the tree, then Gentian's dog and then the tree again.
Gentian's boar can't seem to detect a single scent. In addition, the flora in this conservatory are fragrant enough to hinder progress in that department. His bat on the other hand seems to be chasing something, then is chased; this goes on.
"Your shiny trinkets are no use to us outlanders! You can't give us what you don't have." A clear hissing comes from everywhere, multiple voices.
The flowers and trees are thick, there is alot of cover.
Toothache begins cursing the fey. "You bloody midges!" He begins dancing faster.
With the exception of the bat (and Gentian since he has a link to the bat), the fey still remain hidden.
Gentian calls out, "Look at the enchantments they are using to attack us with! We need to counter-attack and drive them out!"
He tells his familiar to keep pointing to the fey, so that he can attack in the right spot. The bat uses the Mage Hand it is wearing to telekinese a cold iron bullet over the fey's head.
Gentian has to decide if there is room to charge a fey, or if he is better off using a sling bullet. If he can charge, he will do so. If there are obstructions or not enough room to get up to speed, then he will use the sling.
Gentian casts True Strike. (No error due to armor because it is verbal only)
IF SLING: Gentian hits AC33 with no chance of missing for 5 points of cold iron damage.
IF LANCE: Gentian Power Attacks with his lance held two-handed, hitting AC 34 for 35 damage (minus any damage reduction)
SPELLS: Used 1 of 4 first level spells per day
Gentian continues to use his keen hearing to locate the fey: Listen checks: 29. 25. 20.
He tells his boar to stay next to him.

Gentian has little to no chance of hitting a target that even the bat can't manage to hit. It is clearly ammusing to the fey that the halfling even tried to attack them.
Breanna misses. (Due to cover, concealment and invisibility, your trick shot is impossible at this time.)
"Your horse is safe dark man. It is an unexceptable thing to enslave such a beautiful and smart creature!"
The voice addresses Eclip. "The human woman was week willed. She took her own life. We were here first. We only seek the return of our Cill Dara which was taken by the evil human long ago."
I need a Diplomacy check from everyone except Gentian and Breanna, who need to make a Will save. :)

In reply to Calor, "You are strangers in numbers. You are the first large group to come here. We expected violence. However, we did no attack with weapons as the others in your group did."
Breanna is friends with the fey and wouldn't do a thing to hurt them.

While it was improperly taken from you by the evil one, human law would say that Doloff has a clam to it too. I would be willing to take an offer to the man Doloff to see if he accepts. Can Cill Dara be healed or restored? The man Doloff said that the house vanished as if it was never here a few days ago. Does it have something to do with the full moon? "

Some of you, specifically Eclip, feel that it will be nearly impossible to get the fey out of the house, let alone off the hill. Though, the group was not suggesting that. Perhaps the fey don't understand what the humans want. While others suggest that Doloff may be willing to sell it to the fey (or at least that was what I gathered by several statements made, any offer of money is not even considered proper in the fey's case).
"We caused the house to disappear. It took all our concentrated efforts, even the Others, to help do so. The elders suspect Doloff may want to sell this house because of the things we have done. While we merely wanted to chase him off, the Others often cause bad things to happen. Like that poor old man picking apples. We liked him, but one of the others loosened a rung on the ladder and he, in turn, fell. We, for the most part, liked him."
"Did the Evil one die 400 years ago after building this house? We suspect after he died in his attempts to harness the Nexus' power. One who does not understand it fully, may cause unforeseen hazards."
There is a pause for a moment. "Doloff is not an evil man, but he has powerful blood. He worries us. We can't tell you why. We don't know."
"A point where the lines converge? Sure, nearly under this room in fact. Thats why our plants are so beautiful."
Several things start coming back to you, things you all heard two days past.
You remember some of Doloff's statements. '...the Elemental Lords, the beings who created this world, tend to use elemental servants as messengers and guides. Actually, the elements run everything. Nature runs things.'
'... because the problems happen right around the full moon. Full moon is in nine days in fact. It'll be a Blue Moon too.'
'I've been showing this around to locals and visiting merchants hoping to sell the place, but locals don't want the place because of its history and the visiting merchants aren't looking to settle in such a remote location.'
Perhaps the next cycle of trickery was going to be a big one? Maybe cause something to happen the Elemental lords want to avoid.
A power center for fey magic. A rare Blue Moon after the harvest. A great evil stopped in the far past. Fey protectors. Interesting chain of events...
What is the 'right or wrong' course of action? Are the Elemental lords using you to their ends? Do they even care? Did they send the mephit? What of this evil?
And there is still the matter of the other things in the house. The rats, spooks and other potentional nasties.
What to do...
I tried to address all the questions I missed in earlier posts, let me know if I missed one.

Eclip shakes he head in confusion, looks around at his companions. "Ok, my take is that the evil man did something to the power nexus which may cause something to happen at the next full moon. Doloff possibly being related by blood to the evil man may be the key element in what is to happen during the next full moon. The question is 'What is going to happen?'"
Spirit looks at Eclip and wags his tail.

Eclip shrugs at the others suggestion to explore up stairs, "Why not explore more. Lead on Breanna." Before leaving Eclip turns twards the Fey, "Thank you for enlighten us about Cill Dara. I'm not sure yet what part we are to play, but hopefully it will turn out well for all."
Spirit stays by Eclip's side.

We've already checked the library, then we can check the bedrooms and antique room. maybe we could split up into two or three groups as long as we stay close enough to come if someone calls for help."

Movement upstairs is fast and uneventful for the most part. There are several things you notice immediately. The upstairs landing is dusty and unkept. There are seven doors, three to the left and three to the right and one directly in front of you. This is sparsely decorated, save the four statues facing into the center of the landing and a pedestal and globe near the railing.
"Where to?" Askes Toothache. He eyeballs the globe.

(It was implied that several people wanted to head upstairs, while the other half would have remained downstairs to finish it off. There was no mutual concensus the way I read it.)
The group finds nothing of interest with the statues, besides the fact they are made of some dark stone and carved well, but they are carved as Toothache points out. One figure holds a sword, another holds an orb, the third holds a spear and the last holds a scroll. They are all of the same male human none of you recognize. The room is lit by those automatic lamps. The globe is well detailed.
No one hears a thing besides their companions and a distant barking and maybe the wind rattling the large domed skylight letting in the little natural light of the overcast day.

Its a very empty hallway void of doors, art, light and windows, but it does lead to a bend which goes to the left. There are no other directions to go.

You eventually find a door that leads to the upstairs portion of the library and access to the books on that level, but other than the occassional table covered in linen or dust bunny in a random corner, you find nothing in the way of opposition.
You also find a balcony that looks over the village.
Gentian's sense nothing other than walls and the odd moth.
Toothache gets bored rather quick and decides to wait at the top of the stairs for people to return.
The upstairs are very tedious and time consuming. After at least an hour of searching, your convinced there is nothing up here.

After the group finishes the search of the upstairs, Eclip address the group "It's getting late, lets spend the rest of the day going thought the library again for any references to the Fey, Cill Dara, Power Nexus and/or the Evil one who built this place. We can camp in the library again then finish searching the first level tomorrow."

While the library is being reprobed, Gentian puts his own ears, his dog's nose, and his bat's sonar to use trying to figure out where the most traffic (fey or otherwise) is on the main level. He also looks for secret doors as he pokes around.
