Thanks Al. It's appreciated. I had alot of fun killing the mummy king with you all.

Big Tim, when you have time, could you please look at Bin's skill point allocation? I think I am missing points for being human. Could you confirm this so I could update it and resend a copy? Thanks.
What level is Bin?

I was also wondering how we work out experience points?
you began play with beginng exp. for your level. then add whatever you get for the module.

OOC:
Bin was level 8 when he started the game over at Plateau city. In regard to the skill point allocation.

Did we get experience for the module already? I may have missed it. Starting experience for level 8 + adventure = ?

If we have been notified of XP given, Buzz, then I missed the announcement as well. According to my records, the last XP given was as we left Plateau City. That was back in 08/31/06.

Al is correct.

I did an exp award for the Plateau CIty folks and left the Shields up to Tim.

I can go over your sheets again, Buzz, but I seem to remember that the skill points were close. The problem might be cross-class skills that cost 2 points per rank.

Thanks John I appreciate the help. Human with +2 bonus 14 intelligence.

No hurry on exp. either. I just didn't want to hold up the game with it later if I did miss it.

DM BigTim

Gonna be weird typing that DM next to my name.

Everyone, I will begin the next module on December 4th. I will make my posts around 10am on each day.

I ask each of you to take this time to get your characters in order, buying/selling at the catacombs what you will and tie up any loose ends. Also, please, have your updated sheets to me no later than sunday the 3rd.

Now, let me give you a bit on me. As you saw when I was running monsters for John, I play them rough and to their full potential.

With that said let me say this: That adventure was too big for me to just jump in on in the middle. Not really knowing what was going on but a smaller group like the Shields are, I know I wont have a problem. But in the off chance I screw up email me or better yet, do a post private to DMs and ill go in and edit what needs to be edit'd.

One last thing. Please make non character comments in emails or on the LnB from here on out. Jerry likes a clean game board.

Wynn - Copied from Plateau City
Friday December 1st, 2006 11:03:49 PM

As his comrades prepare to leave for the catacombs and home, the bard takes center stage at the Giggling Ghost. With a tankard of ale in his left hand, and a parchement in his right he begins to sing in a rich, earthy voice [Perform=26]

Beneath a veil of tears, her husband now departed
Iliona nursed her fears, her path to shadows charted.
The lady's wealth and social grace gave her little solace
She gathered many close to her and filled their hearts with malice.
In praise of Atmahlanto

In search of the lich and the promise of death she led them far field
Unknown to them their unholy fate had long already been sealed.
Across the haunted lake and to the farthest shore they flew
They came upon the dryders there and unmercifully they slew
The cursed of Atmahlanto

Deep in the jungle, trees larger than life, we followed where she led
Each foe that was felled, rose again, a foul diseased undead.
We tracked her o'er the Plains of Stone, where ancient creatures fed
A passage way beneath the ground was where the pathway led
To the tomb of Atmahlanto

Beneath the ground we ventured forth, into the darkened halls
A sickly pale was cast upon those dank unhallowed walls
With each step we bravely took we chanced a deadly sight
And many brave companions were frozen by their fright
In the tomb of Atmahlanto

Our cleric's symbol held aloft, he called upon god's power
But bolstered by unholy ground, they did not yield or cower
The undead creatures held their ground and nearly stole my life
The fate of all our unslept dreams lay balanced upon a knife
In the tomb of Atmahlanto

In her final grievous hours, Illiona did not falter.
Her life they stole and left her bleed atop their sacred alter
But I was saved to fight again and stop her evil part
For no blood of hers would ever reach that evil waiting heart
In the tomb of Atmahlanto

A desperate battle took place that day as evil battled good
Atop the pyramid of death the unholy creature stood.
Surrounded by our company of dwarves and elves and men,
the defender of the undead king fought us one to ten.
It fought us to a standstill, afflicting us with blight,
But in the end it fell before our combined and righteous might.

The mighty lich lies trapped this day beneath the rock and scree
His temple lies in ruins, no cultists to hear his plea.
No way to rise, he lies in wait, an eternity is his sentence
For the cursed watch from the forest still, unyielding in repentance
O'er the Tomb of Atmahlanto

Though time will pass and leaves will fall and friends will soon depart
Take solace in the knowledge that we'll be remembered for our part
For beneath the ground in the darkened halls where evil was held at bay
A friendship, hard as steel, was forged on that glorious day
In the tomb of Atmahlanto.

Lang & Sunshine
Friday December 1st, 2006 11:26:31 PM

Lang watches as the Plateau City group moves off towards the teleport gates. He silently wishes them good luck in their next adventure.

With that, he turns back to his friends the Shields. He looks them over one by one. Angus, Xenia, Wynn, Syr, Belkior & of course Sunshine. He sighs a little as he realizes that the group has shrunk from 8 down to 6. It was easy to miss that when the Shields combined forces with the other group.

Lang then notices that the rescued Cleric is still hanging around. The man held his own back in the cavern, fighting the undead and the cultists. What was the fellow's name? Lang thinks back and remembers it was Bin.

"Hey Bin, what are your plans?"

Bin
Saturday December 2nd, 2006 9:52:51 PM

Sitting and listening to Wynn perform, he thinks back into the past of what has happened. How he was there for the end of the song, but he really never understood who the lady was or her part in the story until now. His eyes grow wet with the tale in lyrical form and applauds as loudly as his little human hands can manage. He wipes his eyes and lifts the glass of halfling sweet wine to his lips as he hears the question directed at him.

"Oh, me?" He thinks to himself but a moment before he responds. "My plans are to bring as many people into the arms of Domi as I can before I pass, so that they may experience his embrace, through whatever measures I need to. That's plan one anyway. Plan two is to fight against evil and injustice imposed upon the weak and helpless by those that feel superior to others. I know not everyone is willing to help me with part one, but if I can find those willing to help with part two, part one would be much easier in the future."

Xenia
Sunday December 3rd, 2006 9:34:00 AM

The green eyed rogue stands, applause muffled only by her gloved hands.

"You're so good." Xenia reaches up to buss Wynn lightly on the cheek as he steps down from the stage. "That was beautiful."

"Hey, Bin," she takes a sip from her grape rink, "we used to have a guy with us named Florin. He kept a place at the Temple of Domi. They know us there. Mention our name and I think they'll take to you right away, I'd think."

"Oh! Hey wait!" Xenia reaches out to deposit her glass on the nearest table as the Plateau City Group begin to file out for the Portal on Gold Level and Home. "I'll go with you."

"I'm gonna see 'em off. Getting kinda warm in here anyway," the rogue fans the flush of wine, nearly invisible against her dark complexion. "See you in a bit."

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Xenia presses the map into Mira's hand as the Plateau City Group clusters about before the Portal Pad.

"There's this little blond girl, Mira," she whispers. "Her name's Kyria. We're, like, pals, you know." *sniff* The girl rogue wipes at one eye with a gloved finger. "Give her a hug from me, will you? Tell her I'm thinking of her."

"We'll come see you! I mean, we're just a Portal trip away, right? Maybe come over for, like, shopping, you know? See ya." Xenia throws her arms around the sorcerer from Plateau City. "Sometime soon, yeah?" She hugs Mira's guy, the other bard, Arm. "Bye." Bends down a bit to hug the dwarf, Kadaz. The other rogue guy, Shadow. Conner the fighting guy. Thar with the two swords. And even the poor freaky Edmund guy.

"Bye. We'll send word when we've found a place to stay! Thinking of buying a place! Maybe around the Ghost!"

"Bye!"

Angus
Sunday December 3rd, 2006 3:39:17 PM

Angus know his new friends from the Plateau City must go home, but it was nice to have them around and now someone can look after the kids, much easier than the Shields can.

Now that the new friends have departed, Angus looks to his old friends. "So, how long do we want to stay at the Giggling Ghost or do we find a new place to live. Our last place is a pile of rubble."

Angus looks to Syr "Syr, you are from the Float, where might be the best places to set up home?"

Angus then looks to everyone "Are we still in the orphanage business, as there have to be many after the plant battle? Or are we moving on to other things?"

Belkior
Sunday December 3rd, 2006 9:36:04 PM

The halfling cleric looks at the group from Plateau City as they prepare to enter the portal that will take them home. Nice people and none of them made a short person joke. And promising, too.

When he turns back to his companions, Belkior sees expressions that look similar to how he is feeling. Stopping the revival of that lich dealt with a big threat to the Float. But it doesn't take much looking to see the devastation caused by the coming of the Fae King and the attack by the Crying Woods. There's a lot of healing to be done in this city, and Belkior feels that he needs to be here to help.

When Angus and the others mention a place to live, Belkior listens with interest. Early on, when he first joined the Shields, he had kept on staying at the Temple. But now he thinks that staying with the others, closer to the people, is a better thing. But where to stay?

"Angus, maybe we can stay at the Ghost tonight. Tomorrow we can see about trying to rent or buy a place to live. Maybe we'll have to settle for a vacant spot and have to clear it. There's probably lots of people needing money and shelter, though, who'd be willing to work with us."

Syr
Sunday December 3rd, 2006 11:48:48 PM

Syr mulls it over in his head and talks loudly as the group follows Belkior's suggestion and returns to the Ghost, "I guess it really depends upon what we want to do. I mean, most of my life, I grew up on the Fence level in mother Flauset's orphanage. that wasn't too bad and it really makes the most sense economically. Plus, it keeps us near Happy if he needs help again."

He pauses for a moment as if remembering something and a frown crosses his face before continuing, "Bin, you are staying with us right? Although, we don't make a habit of streaking that might make it difficult for you." Looking at the new member of the group, he winks, "Anyway, as I was saying, if the double B's want to be close to the temples, then the Gold level is the place because I don't think we can afford the top level. For that matter, I wouldn't want to live on the bottom either."

Looking back at the dark elf, "Miss X briefly mentioned a business earlier, that might put us on the Merchant level. A final option is the Barracks level where we set up shop as adventurers for hire." He shrugs his shoulders, "I say commit to a level now and then work the rest out when we get there."

Bin
Monday December 4th, 2006 3:07:23 AM

Being interested in the conversation, he listens as they speak of their plans.
When Syr asks Bin if he's staying, he smiles brightly at them and replies, "I believe we were all brought together for a reason. So if no one objects perhaps we can share our fate together.
Strange that I also wanted to contribute into this cause you speak of. My plan was to donate all my proceeds that you have offered me to aid the orphans and the poor. I was thinking of some type of trust fund that would spend it wisely so that I could continue my adventures with good conscious, however I am intrigued with your ideas at purchasing a place and I still have all my funds plus what I met you all with."

Xenia
Monday December 4th, 2006 9:48:00 AM

"I been thinking of a business," the girl rogue replies as the group walks down through the levels on their way back to the Giggling Ghost. "Sum'pin in the buying and selling trade, you know." She purses her full dark lips in thought as she swings along down the street. "Just haven't hit on the right angle. Dunno if it'll even need a storefront or not."

Xenia's eyes turn from one side of the street to the next, sizing up the places along the way, picking and choosing the same way she would look for a dress, a kaffe mug, or a keen shortsword.

"But for now, I just wanna get a new place. Somewhere you can wake up and just walk around in your jammies, you know? I mean, the Ghost is nice. But it's ... it's public. It's not really home."

The rogue continues in silence for a moment, engaged in her thoughts and examinations.

"I'd like to stay on Fence," she says at last. "I mean, it was nice being right around the corner from the Ghost. And it's just a short walk to the Docks where you can see the sky. The real sky, I mean. Not the magic one they put on the ceiling."

"But I think the real thing that's gonna tell us where we can set up is gonna be cost. I wonder how much it's gonna cost to buy a building? And the land underneath it too. Gotta have that. We should find that out. Maybe go to the city office and find out who owns what."

"Maybe we can have three stories this time, huh? Something with a balcony way up high. And maybe a garden again. Though Tionel won't be around to grow stuff in it anymore." She sighs. "We should have plenty of room, Bin. I'd think."
