The Chosen of Domi agree that the sacred relic that is the reunited heart of Domi must be kept safe at all costs. All portents point to Hearthold Keep, the home given to the Chosen by the god himself. With a sense of nervous excitement the taurs anticipate their arrival on Bridge Island after an absence of more than 3 years.
The day and night pass quickly, and by mid-morning those with sharp eyes see the familiar outline of their home. By noon the Scorpius has come 'round the island from the north through the Upper King's Channel and into the Safety Channel as it approaches the sheltered harbor below the rise on which the keep is situated. The site that greets the homesick taurs is quite startling: a tidy, well organized little harbour dotted with maybe half a dozen small fishing boats and a cluster of buildings that rings the bay, and climbs up the side of the once crumbling incline between the shore and the keep. The crumbling incline has been carefully terraced and even from a distance appears lush and green. In fact, it appears as if the jungle itself has enfolded the keep and the community in its green embrace, for nearly one third the castle is swathed in vines.
Three years previous the Chosen had escaped a frontier outpost clustered at the base of the stone structure where a dozen or so guards and staff and their families made their homes, only to return to what was now a sturdy little town of some 200 souls!
"Weigh anchor!" comes a shout, and there is a grinding sound as the heavy iron weight pulls the chains off the winch and into the water below. "Ready the skiffs!" comes another, and two boats are lowered onto the water. One of the crew tosses a rope ladder over the side of the vessel.
All those who attempt a climb: Climb DC vs 5 to reach the boats safely or fall in the water. Swim DC vs 10 to make it to shore safely, DC 5 or less you go underwater.
All those who look before they leap, Spot DC vs 10 Highlight to display spoiler: { to see someone steering a large flat barge towards the Scorpius.} if Spot DC was 15 or greater Highlight to display spoiler: { the individual steering the barge is recognizable as Dunin, the human harbormaster loyal to the Chosen.}
(OOC: This is advance notice, only! Plan for one week of down-time for the Chosen to rest, recover, and reaquaint themselves with their home and the friends they left behind as well as seek information, deal with issues in the community, shop, etc. I plan to post a 7 day countdown, 1 post per 24 hr. cycle over as many days...to start in a day of two.-DM Carla)

The minotaur hears, "Weigh anchor." and jumps to his feet. He gets to the rail and views his home with tear filled eyes; he wipes them dry.
"Collect your gear Chosen. We'll skiff over." The ranger smells the harbor, recognizing the familiar odors but is also assailed with different ones; new smells.
"Its great to be home." He forgets his misgivings.
"Glade! How long has it been for you, last time you were home?"
Winterglade d20+4=18 Tuesday November 7th, 2006 5:11:47 AM
Winterglade is standing on deck, his gear already packed. He looks at the island with a mixture of curiosity and relief. It will be good to have firm ground under his hooves once again.
Then his eyes turn sad and distant.
"Two years and one hundred and forty seven days, Captain. Alas, Winterglade can't go back to the Great Plain until his own quest is complete. For now, though, his path is intertwined with yours, until the threat of the blade is no more."
[Spot 18] "Look, a barge is coming this way, probably for the cargo. Still, the sooner off the boat the better."
Very carefully Winterglade lowers himself into the skiff, until stands in it on shaky legs [Take10 on Climb: 8].
"Winterglade was never meant to be a sailor, no, but Brawler just won't listen to him."
[At which day our Catacombs parcels will arrive?]

Zeoll d20+9=29 Tuesday November 7th, 2006 6:25:19 AM
Zeoll shakes the captain's hand and asks her name. Then he takes a look at his adopted home.
His keen eyes see something. "It is a boat, piloted by a human," he says. A human. Hmmm. What could that mean?
Zeoll feels nervous. His tail swishes. Will anyone still live here who still remembers him? More time has passed than he cares to recall. He decides to wait for the next trip to shore ... if all the Chosen try to jump into that small skiff, maybe it will sink!
(OOC: Dunin is an established NPC from the past. My notes read: "Human harbormaster for Hearthold Keep and one loyal to the Chosen. Stayed behind when others left. He is in his mid forties (now closer to 50 human years!) Was once a pirate, till he became an honest man, and took up position as harbourmaster."-Dunin)
Gecktar d20-1=16 d20+3=4 Tuesday November 7th, 2006 11:50:03 AM
Gecktar looks at the isle. It's been so long since they left the Hearthold Keep.
He is happy to see that the hearthold has not been destroyed by the fools that assalt them three years ago.
Home sweet home he thinks to himself. Maybe they will have some rest to forget about the burden they have on they shoulders...

DM Bob and Carla Tuesday November 7th, 2006 9:51:05 PM
Surprisingly nimble, Flat-top climbs over the side of the Scorpius and finds a spot in the boat. He is soon joined by Gecktar, as Winterglade takes his time. Zeoll notices a wide, flat barge making towards the boat. He sees a human steering it, and has to rub his eyes to recognize the Chosen's loyal old friend, Dunin, the harbour master. Captain Requin and her crew rig up a hammock like affair with the net repaired by Flat-Top, and use it to lower the wemic over the side of the boat and onto the barge, while Brahmah stands at the rails of the boat, looking at his home with tears in his eyes.
"'tis you! 'tis you! I canna' believe my eyes!" cries the grizzled harbour master. "Michael will be in a tizzy with no advance notice to cook a feast! But we knew you was 'a comin back! Yup! We knew it!" Dunin gets the barge on its way, and signals the skiff with Flat-Top, Gecktar, and Winterglade to follow. The trip passes quickly as the excited man chatters away. The party learn that when the clerics searched the keep and the community, and could not find the unitaur children, they turned on each other. "Trinl and Upthel and the rest couldn't stop 'em. Those what wasn't killed in the keep up an' drown'd when they tore up each others ships. We heer'd later that the religious types back on the islands figured it was a sign o' some evil on Bridge Island an' they stayed away. Still, Domi be speakin' to some folks and tellin' 'em to come, an' others, they just heer'd that this be a good place fer what some folks call 'misfits'!" At this the human lets out a hearty laugh.
"Yer friend, Cap'n Lira," he continues, "she be checkin' in time to time. She heer'd you be commin' home, soon. We be 'specktin her in 'bout a week."
Soon the party are docked and ashore. Dunin nods and smiles, the grin on his face erasable. "'spose you knows the way!" he says and waves them off, as he tends to the affairs of the captain and crew of the Scorpius that came ashore with the Chosen. The tidy cobbled streets that wind up the side of the embankment are flanked by pleasant looking homes made of timber and stone, with thatched roofs. There is a pleasing mix of the vernacular of each island represented throughout. Males and females of all three taur races look up as the long-gone and somewhat bedraggled group pass by. The faces are open, and smiling, and here a hand is raised in a welcoming gesture, while there a young-one hides behind its mother.
"A-hooo! A-hooo!" the sound of a horn blown by a young centaur welcomes the party as they approach the entry to their home. It is Upthel, the young warrior! "Welcome home, Chosen of Domi!".
(OOC: 7 day countdown has not started yet!-DM Bob and Carla)
He feels sad that he was dead when the unitaur children were born, and that he was not here to help.
But Zeoll's smile widens when he hears about Captain Lira. Her he remembers!
He thanks Captain Requin and is very glad to set foot on Bridge Island. He is eager to head to the keep.
Winterglade Wednesday November 8th, 2006 7:00:34 AM
The centaur's hooves dance on the ground all by themselves. "Ahh, it's so good to be off the ship."
"And what a strange place this is; look at that mix living here. One can't help but wonder how long it will last."
"Maybe it's time you told Winterglade a bit more about what happened here before you left and about that bounty on your heads?"
Brahmah Wednesday November 8th, 2006 11:33:06 AM
Brahmah looks dumbstruck at centaur and the gesture of gold, then he smiles the biggest he has in months.
"Friend Flat-top... my father's sword was not taken, thank Domi!" He looks at his friend. "Thank you. I will only replace what was taken and return the rest. I will repay you."
"Dunin! How have you been friend?!" When Brahmah gets off the skiff and notices the little one, he picks a small poppy flower. He approaches the little one and places the flower in her hair and smiles gently at her. "Have courage."
(Ceil, I appreciate the loan. I will repay Flat-top ASAP! :) Is there anything Flat-top needs?)

Toros - identification of magical items Thursday November 9th, 2006 10:11:27 AM
Dear DMs, in his last post, Toros has started to identify the 10 magical items, but regarding this he has not heard anything from you after that. Meanwhile, Zeoll has already been asked to pay 1100 gp as the identification cost in the Catacombs, he guesses.
Toros would spend his time to identify the magical items, while settling down and catching up with the Hearth Hold Keep. This would be also cheaper for the Chosen!
Zeoll to Toros OOC Thursday November 9th, 2006 11:08:08 AM
It seemed easier to expedite things and pay for the idents. The thing is, you only get one casting of the spell a day, right? Because it is your domain spell. So it would take you 10 days to do all ten items. But we only have 7 days here. So it seemed reasonable to pay for speed and convenience.
Brahmah Thursday November 9th, 2006 12:51:10 PM
"Thank you Flat-top."
"Chosen. I think it would be nice to have a placement ceremony for the heart and invite the locals to the Heart Chamber. What do you think?"
Toros - OOC Thursday November 9th, 2006 2:31:04 PM
This is why I have been wondering how many hours it would take to replenish the magical energy of one domain spell so that it can be used once again within the same day... For instance, if it requires 8 hours of resting/spending and then 1 hour praying to replenish all the cleric spells, Toros could cast the spell, spend the time / mediate again and cast the spell again so that more than one item can be identified at one day, cannot? Even for only one spell, perhaps it would take shorter time to regain the pre-used spell slot...??
Also, in addition to the 7 day, which also has not started yet, 1-2 more days would be counted for the time on board and sea as for Toros's previous post goes...
And, I guess Toros would have some scrolls of the spell for back up, if I am not wrong...
Anyways, if Toros does not use his time to identify the items, he would have lots of free time, for this 7-10 days, in contrast to his player. So please NPC him in the way you think appropriate...
Sorry for not being able to post more frequently in the meantime...

DM Bob and Carla Thursday November 9th, 2006 8:44:29 PM
The staff at Hearthold Keep are happily surprised when the true tenants of the place arrive. There are cries of pleasure and much clasping of hand and arm, and slapping of backs, and of course tears of joy. The party is brought up to date on the general affairs of the island and learns that the keep has been well maintained, though used lightly. The staff for the most part have stayed on, and Trinl and Upthel, under the supervision of Borus have divided the guard into two groups that alternate between castle guard and island patrol.
B'minny, desirous of a more appreciative audience for his cooking cajoled Neima into joining him in opening an inn near the docks called the Hayloft but Michael was happy to step up to the challenge of cooking for the keep, though the guards would grumble that his biscuits weren't quite as good as B'minny's.
The group also learn that several small commercial enterprises have been set up, including a sawmill, a cooperage, a jeweler, a bakery, and a general store where once a week they process orders for that famous trading establishment, the Catacombs. Twice a week there is an open air market, and trade is quite brisk.
After the happy reunion a banquet is set for the Chosen of Domi while other staff prepare the taurs' private chambers. Wine is served, part of the annual tribute from the Surefoot Family Vineyards. As the banquet nears its end 6 guards drag in 3 large chests, each containing gold, which totals 27,000 GP. The group learns a mysterious cloaked stranger accompanied the treasure and indicated that Brahmah, Toros, and Zeoll would understand. Finally there is a folded piece of parchment, affixed with a seal of green wax. It is addressed to Flat-Top, but the fighter might need some help reading the note:
Deer frend,
We hop u hav not forgot yor promis to us. We hav not forgot. A promis is a promis u no. Fiv barals ov wine. Big wons plez. We remane yor frends in the Culverwod,
Thadius and Thalpius
Some discussions take place over what to do next, including a ceremony and public celebration for when the reunited heart is restored to the sacred chamber, but soon it is late, and time to retire. In the morning, breakfast is served early, and talk continues about what to do next.
(OOC: Breakfast is the start of day 1/7. Post what your character would do during a full 24 hours. This is role play time, so multi-posting, within reason, is fine. BTW a celebration sounds great!-DM Carla)
Winterglade Friday November 10th, 2006 3:03:49 AM
The centaur is visibly impressed by the island and the society of its inhabitants.
"If Winterglade didn't see that with his own eyes he wouldn't believe. Centaurs mixing up with others just like this. Eh, strange thing, indeed, might be a portent of change in the Wold."
Then he vanishes for a few hours to satisfy his urge for a run.
He spends his first day on the island learning firsthand about the occupants and the lay of the land. He shows up again if the ceremony is to be performed today, but, not fully understanding what the heart is, he is content to be just one of the people witnessing the return of the artifact. He spends some time after that getting to know the keep, but is much more comfortable in open spaces. The night finds him standing in somebody's garden, watching the stars.
Gecktar Friday November 10th, 2006 5:55:53 AM
Gecktar approves the idea of a ceremony. He was thinking about it when Brahmah suggested the idea.
"Yes, I think it is a very good idea" he says to Brahmah. "I think we should prepare it well. Maybe Galde will be willing to officiate whith me during the ceremony."
"Let's talk about it to our contact so they can spread the new among all those that live around. I think I will be able to finance the ceremony. I am willing to make some kind of banket after that so all those who come will have a lunch."
"Let me talk to Ginal, I'm sure she will be happy to help preparing and participating to the ceremony."
Gecktar wakes up in early the morning and takes quick breakfast. Looking for Ginal, he talks to her about the ceremony they intend to do. According to the feelings of Ginal about the preparation they plan the ceremony for the next day or the day after. In the meanwhile, he takes part to the preparation, taking some time during the day to meditate, clean his outfits and equipment.
He also looks for Zeoll asking him "Hey, Wemic !" he calls with joyful tone "Is you cloak finished ? Else I could give you some help if you wish".
"I think the ceremony is going to be great you know."
Flat-top Friday November 10th, 2006 6:45:17 AM
Flat-top breaks away from the others, runs at full gallop to the Keep. Knocks on the door with the Big rings "BANG! BANG!" Waits for the door to open and when it does Flat-top ask "My Name is Flat-top, I have a package for the Cleris. She is still here is she not? I'll wait in the Grear Hall at the foot of the alter."
He waits there even though some of the staff peek in and point at him. But at last she enters the Room. "Flat-top!" She yells, "It's really you, Why are you not out side thithe the other Chosen?"
Flat-top Bows deeply, replying "Because I have here the Saundered Heart, When we left you put it into my Hands for safe keeping. Now I'm going to put it into your Hands." Flat-top goes into an old bage bringing out the Saundered Heart case, putting it in her hands. " Now it's home safly! Oh By the way Brahmah Is calling for a cerimony for all the taurs to see. So brace yourself we are home again! Come on let meet every body at the Door! Do you have any Apples around?"
Zeoll d20+10=25 d20+17=25 Friday November 10th, 2006 6:49:39 AM
Zeoll spends the day like this:
======
He offers a farewell to the Captain, with thanks. He makes sure she has been paid, and even offers something extra to each of the crew (subtracting 50 gold from personal stores). He asks Requin to stop by as often as she likes.
The liontaur asks her if she is going to Centaur Isle. If so, he gives her money and a message to take to his Surefoot friends. He needs to arrange for five large casks of wine to go to Pullman's Crossing and Roadhouse, with thanks to the friendly fauns there. If Requin is going that way, he asks her opinion on how much that should cost, and sends that much, plus 10 percent more, to Silky Surefoot.
In the message to the fauns, he warns the fey that this wine has been known to have strange transmogrifying effects on fauns!
Zeoll gets someone else to help him with the messages since he is illiterate.
======
Zeoll wanders the village and the keep in order to personally meet and embrace every person on the island, or as close to it as he can get. He is happy whenever he meets someone he knows -- and he is happy to get to know anyone he does not! His goals are (1) to meet, charm, and befriend everyone, (2) to thank everyone for keeping faith and hope in Domi's vision alive, (3) to spread the word about the Ceremony of Return, and (4) to gather gossip and news (Gather Info check 25).
======
Zeoll also coordinates with the other Chosen so that the ceremony will be spectacular. He asks Flat-top and Brahmah to carry the Heart and to act as the honor guard. He knows that Gecktar and Glade will know the right holy words to say. He asks Toros to collaborate with him in composing and performing music and song that will lift everyone's hearts and spirits. He also includes local folk so that they can participate in some way. Maybe everyone present will have a chance to come up and touch or kiss the Heart. (Perform check 25, plus Toros)
And of course, everyone is invited to a feast at the Keep afterwards, aside from the usual complement of watchers and guards. Even they get brought a plate of food, though.
======
[So I need a guide on how much to spend on buying food for the feast and how much to send with Requin to Silky, if Requin is going that way.]
======
Zeoll seeks out Winterglade. "My frriend, my eyes werre biggerr than my stomach the last time I went to the Catacombs. I have herre fixings to make an Ishgarrran Amulet [of Con +1] and an Ishgarrran Headband [of Int +1]. But I have no idea when I'll have time to make them. So if you would like these rraw materrials to finish, they arre yourrs."
[OOC: These Woldian items have no xp cost to create, of course.]
======
Zeoll thanks Gecktar for his very kind offer to help with his cloak. "Indeed, I am only half done with it! But today I am too busy with everrything else (tells him the plans above). And forr at least a little while, I want to thank Domi and prray. I'll let you know when I can work on it, forr surre!"
======
Then the Ceremony and Feast!
======
Finally, when it is time to go to bed, Zeoll spends an hour praying before the Healed Heart in the chapel.
"Great Tomi," he prays in his native tongue, "Thank you for bringing us home at last. Thank you for sheltering us in our exile. And thank you for protecting these innocent followers you have gathered here on this holy isle."
"And if you will, help me to see more clearly. Help me to understand the things we need to do. Grant me the vision I need to protect and guide your people."
Zeoll meditates, and then goes to sleep, hoping that the truth that comes in dreams will guide him.
======
[OOC: The 27,000 means 4,500 gold each, right? Gilles please note! Zeoll gives 2,200 of his to Gecktar.]
Brahmah Friday November 10th, 2006 9:46:36 AM
Brahmah bids the captain a safe journey and says, "May the wind be at your back and Domi on your shoulder."
The leader of the Chosen likes the idea of a feast, but requires nothing of the guests but their presences at the ceremony. (we will not charge them for admittance ;))
He will be Honor guard with Flat-top. The minotaur will allow anyone who wishes to touch the Heart. Picking it up is off limits.
As for the gold, if any is coming Brahmah's way, he will be the last one to collect. He has debts to pay.
Before bed, Brahmah will assign three guards to the Heart. One centaur, one minotaur and one wemic. Watch will last for four hours, overlapping and alternating so that there is always two on watch at once. (Any problems or concerns, let me know.)
Brahmah will retire to his chamber and is happy to have a bed again to sleep on.
DM Bob and Carla Friday November 10th, 2006 10:56:03 PM
After an early breakfast, Gecktar and Flat-Top call on the guardian of the sacred chamber, Winterglade goes for a run, Zeoll and Brahmah head off to explore the village, and Toros ....
Ginal graciously accepts the sacred relic of Domi from Gecktar and Flat-Top. Conceding that the idea of a ceremony and celebration is an excellent one, she suggest the day after next, explaining that it will take some time to prepare the relic after 3 years abroad in the Wold in the back of a HHHaversack! The kitchen is next on the agenda. Michael the cook assures the minotaur that he need not worry about footing the bill for a feast. Since the eclipse of the twin moons of the Wold nature has furnished such a bounty that the storage rooms are full to bursting with produce, and the gardener and his family can barely keep up with harvesting it all! The castle can certainly host a feast. Flat-Top collects a few apples, and goes off in search of the captain and Zeoll.
Zeoll learns that the tribute in wine over the last 3 years has been so generous, that barrels for Thadius and Thalpius can easily be spared. Zeoll and Brahmah work their way through the small village and are greeted by waves and smiles, as well as thanks for opening the haven that is Bridge Island to immigrants. The pair locates Captain Requin in discourse with Dunin, the harbour master. She agrees to transport the wine as far as Dirt City explaining that she has some family connections in that place who are in the import/export business. She will make sure the delivery gets to the satyrs, but refrains from accepting the taur's gold, asking instead for 3 barrels of Surefoot wine as payment.
Returning from the harbor, the pair encounters Flat-Top who provides the date and time of the ceremony. Working their way through the open market, the minotaur, wemic, and centaur make sure the entire population is invited to Hearthold Keep for the ceremony commemorating the restoration of Domi's reunited heart to Bridge Island.
Flat-top and Brahmah walk back to the keep, and Brahmah is invited to inspect the troops and armory. Several of the young taurs put on a show during arms practice. Captian of the Gurad, Borus, picks up a spiked shield and heavy mace and asks Brahmah if he wants to "show the young'uns how it's done."
Zeoll wanders in to the general store, and is surprised to encounter a pale female half-elf. She is rather plain despite her part elven heritage, and very unassuming in her presentation. The wemic's charming ways get her to open up and he learns that she was dispatched by the management of the Catacombs to act as an agent on their behalf. She was supposed to be replaced after one year, but asked to have her placement extended after finding the community so agreeable. The half-elf volunteers that she barters her language and scribing skills, and thus makes a comfortable living. Continuing through the market, Zeoll learns that most of the folks in town prefer to barter and trade and gold seems scarce.
Over a casual buffet dinner the taurs share information gathered from their separate activities. Zeoll share project materials with Winterglade. Gecktar volunteers to help Zeoll with his cloak. Gecktar invites Winterglade to help officiate at the ceremony, and Toros and Zeoll practice a musical routine.
Brahmah finds plenty of willing souls amongst the guards on staff, and a watch is set 'round the sacred heart before the taurs turn in. Winterglade studies the stars in the heavens from Hearthold's own garden, charmingly wild and slightly unkempt--a far cry from Mauroth's carefully tended beds, while Zeoll dreams Highlight to display spoiler: {of beautiful mixed race children running through the streets of the new town, happy and laughing. Far, very far away, a dark cloud gathers on the horizon.}

Winterglade d20+1=19 Saturday November 11th, 2006 6:39:26 AM
"You would invite Winterglade to speak at the ceremony alongside Gecktar? Well, he does know a few old hymns from the Great Plain that seem fitting... He shall do his best!"
The centaur examines the materials supplied by Zeoll with great interest. Then he shakes his head sadly. "Winterglade would love to help, but he does not posess enough skill to place that kind of strong magic in these items." [Sorry Cayzle, Ishgaran stuff has a CL8 prerequisite. My PC has just only hit level 7.]
Winterglade finds himself a place to store his gear at the Keep and enjoys being able to safely move about without his armor and shield. The morning is spent on mingling with the populace of the island, though he, unlike Zeoll, is interested mostly in one race, and, well, only one gender. The afternoon finds him shamelessly flirting with a young fillie.
"'Tis a sad story indeed." - he explains, showing the young thing his single remaining platinium ring (other having been on the finger of Rock when he left). "Winterglade offered the other one to somebody special whom he has known only for a little while. Alas, the fates would not have us be together. The moment of our parting was accompanied with a considerable pain..." [Charisma check 19]
In the afternoon he turns his thoughts to the past and his childhood among the Windwalkers. Memories of songs chanted and stories told under starlight come back one by one. Finally he finds something suitable and shares it with the rest of the Chosen.
"This seems to fit the spirit of the tomorrow's ceremony:
We thought we fled the old ways When we abandoned the old paths And yet we found that we still carried The old world within our hearts
Let us find a seed of hope In the dead of the night Instead of cursing darkness Let us spark a light."
Flat-top Saturday November 11th, 2006 9:06:47 AM
Flat-top for some odd reason, wakens early! Then He knows the reason why. He goes to the great halland waits for WinterGlade, knowing that he love to run in the morning,
As The center comes into view, Flat-top stops him, "Hail Winterglade! I was waiting for you, When we first met I did not if you were a Chosen by Domi, This morning We are going to find out! Come with me!" Flat top leads his taur Brother to the garden out side, There beside a waterfall, there's aseries of flat stones that leads up to the tower, "These steps was made by Doni so we can get closer tho him! Uo the stairs flat-top leads Winter to the out look, "Now Here you can see the whole island, You can stay here and watch the sun rise or if in the evening you can almost touch stars. Then When You come back down, Tell me if Domi has or has not touch your heart? I'll be waiting down the stairs."
Flat-top waits for Winterglade to come down.

Today (second day) Zeoll seeks out his friend Gecktar and asks for his help with his cloak. With the few hours he has free aside from that, he checks out the vines growing on the keep and the state of the flora and fauna nearby.

[OOC to DMs: Highlight to display spoiler: { I was doing the math. Zeoll needs 14 more days to finish his cloak, then 8 days to finish his berrywreath, then another 20 days if he wants to forge a ring of invisibility, then he can do his seer training, then two days on shades of bluffing ... almost two months! So no need to go nuts with the Dreanquest now. Zeoll will work on his cloak, and then the team can go get the sword, then Zeoll can hope to take a long vacation to get everything else done, including adding his first level of seer after that, maybe.}]
Winterglade Sunday November 12th, 2006 4:22:50 AM
The centaur spends the evening at the tower, watching the sun set over the Bridge Island.
When he comes down the stairs he's deep in thought.
"Flat-top, Winterglade will tell you what he doesn't admit very often."
"Most Taurs think that when a god selects a Taur to be his cleric it is one of unwavering devotion and whose mind is devoid of any doubt. Not so. The Brawler pulled Winterglade out of his tribe and cast him into the Wold without giving him any choice. True, he does work his powers through his hands for the benefit of all, but that doesn't come with the understanding of the true purpose of his actions."
"Winterglade accepted his role as a tool, but he can't force himself to stop thinking and doubting. He knew nothing about the Brawler when he received the call, and had to learn everything about him bit by bit. His mind rebels at some choices the Brawler decided to make in the past. Still, it seems that the Brawler allows him to doubt as long as he is ulitmately obedient to his will."
"Winterglade looks at Gecktar with a mixture of awe and amazement, but that doesn't mean that he will ever be capable of or wish to be like him. Yes, Brawler did touch Winterglade's heart, but that touch has proven to be a Firekindler's Gift."
Flat-top Sunday November 12th, 2006 7:56:09 AM
Listens to what Winterglade was saying, Flat-top smiles "My Dear Brother Taue, you talk more like a Chosen in your own way, I consider you a Chosen of Domi! I'm just a Fifgter, BUT you can count on my morning star, to help youany time you need Me!" Flat-top smiles at Winterglade, "NOw! Wheres Zeolll he wanted to go to the Catercombs??"
DM Bob and Carla Monday November 13th, 2006 12:02:01 AM
The Chosen of Domi enjoy a well deserved rest and work on various projects. Zeoll with Gecktar's help makes headway on his cloak. The taur is inspired by the beauty of nature that surrounds Hearthold Keep and the community. Brahmah also notices the thriving vegetation, and far prefers its wild aspect to that of the manicured lawns and gardens seen elsewhere. The island vegetation is lusher than it had ever been during the taurs' previous tenure. Zeoll remembers back to when the party had met a trio of adventurer's from a group named The Platinum Dragons. They had said they were on a quest to overthrow a fey lord of nature. The Chosen had surrendered an artifact, a wooden sword, to the one called Jandar. The taur wonders if the Chosen had any part in generating the richness of nature' resources that seems to be blessing the Wold.
Pondering blessings of a different sort, Winterglade discusses his faith with Flat-Top, acknowledging his respect of Gecktar's devotion. Flat-Top suggests a visit to the general store in order to place orders for the Catacombs. Afterwards, he and Winterglade check out the Hayloft where they find a willing (and mostly female) audience for their tall tales.
The evening meal features a large fish with tender flesh, salads of mixed greens with fruits, and baskets of baked loaves, all washed down with more Surefoot Vineyard wine. After the meal, each taur practices for is role in the ceremony, before calling it a night. Brahmah , makes rounds of the keep, checking on those who guard the relic. They continue to rotate shifts on the Captain's command.
(OOC: Breakfast is the start of day 3/7. Post what your character would do during a full 24 hours. The ceremony only takes up half the day. -DM Carla)
Breakfast is a hurried affair, and quickly cleaned up by the staff after the Chosen are finished.
Very soon the courtyard of Hearthold is full of wemics, centaurs, and minotaurs who have assembled for the ceremony to commemorate the return of the reunited heart, Ginal summons the Chosen of Domi to the sacred chamber where the relic has been under guard. The taurs note soft tapestries all around the room. The colours are muted and natural. The cleric explains that one of the immigrants to Bridge Island learned weaving in Hook City and volunteered to make the tapestries for the chamber. The tapestries are woven from hair and fur collected and donated by all the residents of the island. Ginal signals to Flat-top and Brahmah to carry the Heart and to act as the honor guard. Gecktar and Glade will follow after, and invoke the blessing. Zeoll and Toros are asked to lead the procession with music and song that will lift everyone's hearts and spirits. The ceremony will take place in the courtyard, and after everyone has had an opportunity to celebrate the return of Domi's united heart, it will be returned to the sacred chamber.

The centaur takes part in the ceremony and then is gone for a few hours. He wanders the town again for some time, but his heart is not really into it. Later he can be found on the walls of the keep, watching the sea and twiddling his fingers nervously.
In the evening he finds other Chosen and asks:
"Are you sure the Heart will be safe while we are gone? The people here seem to be good and honest folk who mean well, and Winterglade's sure the guards do their best, but an experienced band of adventurers could walk out of here with the Heart without even raising an alarm until it's gone."

Brahmah Monday November 13th, 2006 11:49:00 AM
Brahmah addresses Glade's concerna bout leaving the Heart with these people. "Strangely enough, I feel more comfortable with leaving the Heart with this group of folks than the last time we were here. More willing taurs this time. Perhaps we can lay down some sort of edict or law stating that no one but authorized clergy and the guard are allowed into the Chamber. Anyone entering the Chamber who is not authorized will be severely punished. No executions, beatings or the like, but heavy fines. Not taxes. We can list the people we trust to the Heart. Those on the list are special cases. Fines can also finance the Keep. Perhaps if that is too harsh, we can have the Chamber open for one hour a week to allow the people to see the Heart. We will double the the number of guards during that hour.
If we think the Heart is unsafe even then, we can have traps set and enchantments put on the Heart.
We should have the Heart protected from teleportation and dimension shifting anyway. Or at least the chamber."
"Thoughts? Any concerns?"

Zeoll reminds his friends that there is a maze under the chamber that holds the Heart. He suggests that a guard could take the Heart into the maze if there were any attack. Also, if the guard were even slightly experienced as a mage, he could hide in a rope trick in the maze. Maybe we should set this fellow up, if there is such a one, with a few scrolls of Rope Trick.
Before the ceremony, Zeoll stands outside near the entrance of the Keep and greets everyone who enters. He tries to learn names he does not yet know. He diplomatically asks people if they know of any threats to the Heart or the Keep.

Zeoll Monday November 13th, 2006 4:22:14 PM
In answer to Brahmah's praise, Zeoll ducks his head, and, as he talks to ceremony attendees, tries to find out if anyone knows of a slightly experienced mage among those devoted to the cause and living on the island.
Or someone who might like to be a Protector.
Gecktar d20+3=22 Monday November 13th, 2006 4:27:09 PM
Gecktar prepares himself for the ceremony by meditating several hours early in the morning.
He then officiates at the ceremony with Winterglade and Ginal, talking about tolerance among taurs, about the united race that was a noble race...
After the ceremony he stays near the chamber and discusses with any local willing to chat a while and answering questions about the Church of the Reunited Taurs.
During the afternoon he helps Zeoll working on his cloak and then takes his duty at the temple, helping Ginal keeping maintaining the Hearthold Keep.
(OOC spot 22)
DM Bob and Carla Monday November 13th, 2006 11:19:24 PM
The sky is cloudless and blue overhead as the ceremony commences. In a mellifluous voice Ginal tells the story of how a group of diverse taurs, representatives of each of the 3 islands, were commissioned for a quest by Domi/Tomi/Imod. Each was entrusted with a relic, sacred to their race, but were compelled to transport that relic to a mysterious island. Strangers to each other, the group bonded, and the relics, all parts of a sundered whole, was knit together. With Domi's 'hart' united, the god himself visited the party and charged them to be an example of peaceful co-esistance , tolerance, and respect of each other. The Chosen of Domi should lead by example and demonstrate for all the Wold how when taurs are united they are a powerful force for good.
Gecktar, and Flat-Top spot a couple looking at other knowingly. He is a wemic and she a centaur. The female's arm rests lightly on a very small colt. There is something odd, and beautiful about the little creature, who doesn't notice anything but the multicolored ball it turns over and over in its paws.
Zeoll gauges the public, but picks up only happy thoughts and a positive vibe. It is a time for celebration!
Ginal wraps up her speech, singling out the Chosen for having returned the sacred heart to Hearthold Keep. (1 Hero Point to each member of the Chosen!)
Gecktar and Winterglade speak words of inspiration and hope and Toros and Zeoll break into song and dance. As the celebrations commence, Flat-Top and Brahmah remove the heart to the chamber where it will be safe. Guards are set, and the taurs return to the feast!
Eventually the party winds down, and the celebrants depart. The Chosen each tend to personal issues though later over the evening meal, the topic of discussion is how to keep the relic safe.
(OOC: Breakfast is the start of day 4/7. Post what your character would do during a full 24 hours. The ceremony only takes up half the day. -DM Carla)
The next day at breakfast, Upthel, the centaur in charge of the island patrol asks to speak with the captain. He tells Brahmah that the night patrol discovered two young taurs on the opposite side of the island. The strangers insisted that they be brought to the castle and wouldn't say anything more.
Brahmah Tuesday November 14th, 2006 3:43:40 AM
"Upthel, do what you think is right, but do not harm them unless they strike you first. Take what precautions you think are necessary."
Flat-top Tuesday November 14th, 2006 5:59:28 AM
As they were eating breackfast, Flat-top reminds Brahmah, "Upthel! Wait a moment!" Flat-top then speaks to Brahmah, "Captain! I have never disobayed one of your orders, But This one, You must have more faith on this island. Don't drag to the unknown Taurs! Do it this way." Flat-top turn to Upthel, "Upthel, invite the Taurs to have lunch with all of the Chosen as soon as they can make it!."
Flat-top will go first on a run, take a shower ubder the Watter fall in the garden (One of his favorite places) then he will spend the resr of the day to see if any body need Hepl.

Winterglade Tuesday November 14th, 2006 7:52:44 AM
Winterglade, who seemed disturbed by something during the ceremony, vanishes early from the feast after just nibbling on something and having a small goblet of wine. He is nowhere to be found that night.
Next morning he checks if the parcels from the Catacombs have arrived and then returns to the home of the Chosen in time to hear talk about the visitors.
"Maybe it's Rock, who somehow made his way back here?"
[Just a reminder, folks: each hero point comes with an XP bonus equal to 30x your level!]
Brahmah Tuesday November 14th, 2006 9:03:47 AM
"Flat-top, I have ALL the trust in this island. But think for a moment, the news of our return may bring assassins or thieves that may try to get our good graces, get into the Keep as friends and then do something horrible. A small show of force is what is needed for situations like this. I do not think of this place like the Doctor's island! Upthel, use your best judgement. I do not assume these taurs are dangerous, but be cautious."
He puts a hand on Flat-tops shoulder. "Then we can have a lunch when we know these taurs are friends. ANd, if they are not friends, we'll send them packing. Okay?" He smiles. "Trust me. I'm not going to hate just anyone strange!" He laughs. "I'm comfortable being home."

Winterglade is standing at the back of the group of Chosen, a bit preoccupied with his own thoughts. A mohawk hairdo, however, does get a raised eyebrow.
"Ah, Winterglade was hoping Rock would be back. Who might you be, he wonders?"
(Winterglade is small and stringy for a centaur - under seven feet. His mane is white and short. He looks relatively young, but his face is weathered. Right now he is dressed in plain garments with a long, gray cloak flowing over his shoulders and then along his back like a caparison. Brahmah Wednesday November 15th, 2006 12:15:28 PM
The Captain of the Chosen waves to the guard to go. "Thank you. We'll be fine."
Brahmah wears a heavily worn tunic, breeches, gauntlets and a very weather worn leather cloak. Over his tunic, Brahmah wears a chain shirt emblazoned with Domi's holy symbol of strength, the hammer. A falchion hangs from one hip and a kukri hangs from the other; both well kept and clean.
He is physically dominating and intimidating, not to mention rather ugly. He's brimming with muscles, covered with scars, tattoos and has engraved horns. The engravings are those of sea life, nature and female minotaurs. The warrior is missing his tail and most of his left ear.
He eyeballs the newcomers, assessing them briefly but not rudely. His hands rest on his hilts in a relaxed manner (do not mistake this as complacency, he is on guard). Something about this centaur was familiar. "Greetings. I am Brahmah, leader of the Chosen of Domi. Sorry if the guards seemed harsh, it was a necessary thing in these days. Yes, we are familiar with Vargas. He will be dealt with soon. But talking of him ruins my appetite. Lets eat. We can talk more of Vargas after."
"Jack, by chance were any of your relatives sailors or pirates. You seem very familiar to me." His fingers absently tap the hilt of his falchion.
After eating..... "Gecktar, can I speak with you? I was not aware you were able to make rings. Can you make me a ring of Sustenence. I will give you 1500gp for time and materials."
Once business with Gecktar is out of the way, he goes and practices his martial skills with a willing participant, perhaps even Jack if his is so inclined. "Come one Pah'caw. I must speak with you." Gecktar Wednesday November 15th, 2006 3:41:21 PM
Gecktar is a typical looking Minotaur with tanned skin and dark brown eyes. He has a powerfull build that shows is martial training. His pride are his horns that are of pure white ivory. He has some fur on his arms, his shoulders and his chest. He is usualy fully clad in metal, wearing a chain mail armor and a large metal shield. On his armor he wears a black tunic with a silvery hammer and anvil on the chest. These are the symbols of Imod. They too appears on his shield engraved in the metal. At his side on the right hangs a mighty Warhammer (it's name is Faith).
He listens to the story of Jack. "Vargas, yes ..." he mutters.
"Take a place around this table. Enemies of Vargas are our allies. But It's not time to talk about this as our Captain said. Time is to eat and drink."
Answering Brahmah, "Yes I could do this for you, but keep in mind what I've said in the Catacombs. Patience my friend. I don't even know if I will be able to find the material to create them..."

DM Bob and Carla Wednesday November 15th, 2006 11:34:53 PM
Introductions are made, and the newcomers are invited to join the Chosen for breakfast. The wemic, Moshushi stares soulfully at the food spread upon the table and doesn't say a word. He doesn't hesitate when invited to join the table, and helps himself to a plate of food that looks like it would feed a small family.
Jack explains that a group of taurs led by the Chosen's nemesis has been terrorizing the coastal villages of Liontaur island. He is reputed to have tortured and killed some hostages in order to exact information from them regarding some artifact that he seeks. From all accounts, he hasn't found what he is seeking. Jack Stronghoove and Moshushi have come to Bridge Island to locate an old bard who might know something of the history of Liontaur Island, and possibly have information about the artifact that the minotaur is seeking.
Brahmah, Winterglade, Flat-Top, and Gecktar probe for more information, while Zeoll listens while working on a project, and Toros watches the strangers quietly.
Servants come and go, bearing full plates, and clearing away empty ones. One of the servants mentions that tomorros (day 5/7) is the day the portal to the Catacombs opens, so it is the last opportunity to get an order out, or recieve deliveries, until the same time, next week.

Brahmah Thursday November 16th, 2006 2:41:59 AM
"No offense taken Jack, my father was killed in what was supposed to be an honorable combat by a centaur who looks remarkably like you. Perhaps your father was a sailor?"
Brahmah gets familiar with Jack's fighting style and is a little impressed. "What is it you do? I mean for gold that is? Mercenary, pirate, hired help? I was a sailor, farmer and dock-hand before Domi called me."
Apparently Pah'caw was upset at Brahmah's question. He hasn't seen her since.
Brahmah takes his share of teh loot and gives 1500gp immediately to Gecktar for the creation of his Ring of Sustenence. (3557gp remaining from loot pile.)
(PS: To DM's, I am having an unusually hard time deciding on a feat to take for Brahmah at 9th level. If you have any suggestions, I'll be more than happy to hear them. I will send you the PC sheet and transactions from the Catacombs when I figure out that feat!)
Jack Stronghooves Thursday November 16th, 2006 3:27:13 AM
As soon as Brahmah says how his father was killed Jack is stunned
"I actually never thought he might have been like that"
"I am sorry if it was my father who did that, but I have to say the way he died was not at all Honorable combat he was attacked by Minotaurs while with me and my mother I was but a baby. There was very much more of them then us and it is how I earned this"
Jack touches his scar
"But I Know nothing if he was indeed a sailor I am sorry"
Jack tries to understand the way Brahmah defends himself in a fight and is also at awe at the powerful Minotaur and his strength!
When Brahmah asks about money Jack stands still and looks down
"Well I am ashamed at what I did to earn gold"
Jack looks at Brahmah with a serious face
"I killed Minotaurs for a living and for my hatred of what they did to me and my family"
Jack looks off into the distance
"I had never thought that maybe my father was the same as me tell you said what you did and the way your father died well that furthers the reason as to why we need to unite the Taurs, Peoples families are being slaughtered and I and my father before me have only furthered that and for that I am sorry!"
Jack looks up as if he forgot Brahmah was there
"Sorry Brahmah, I don't understand the need for good Taurs such as you and me to fight over race"
"Thank you for your hospitality you are a good Taur Brahmah and I hope to be able to fight along side of you with honor for the betterment of all taurs"
Gecktar Thursday November 16th, 2006 3:44:46 AM
Gecktar take the money from Brahmah and take the loot's pile that Zeoll designates him.
"Chosen I have a chain mail to sell. It is magically enhanced and I will sell it at the price the Catacomb will take for it, say 3600gp instead of 4000. Any one interested ?"
During the day Gecktar also seeks Winterglade "Do you know if the Catacomb material is arrived ?"

"Gecktar, Winterglade thinks we will get our materials tomorrow. He is waiting for his work projects, too."
"So Winterglade gets his share of treasure? This is very kind of you, given that all he brought out of that accursed island was a thoroughly trashed hide. Thank you."
Winterglade goes out to the town and asks about a knowledgeable bard [Gather Info 20, 22 if talking to followers of Domi].
Zeoll Thursday November 16th, 2006 7:38:23 AM
Having been preoccupied with food, loot, and cloak, Zeoll sees that he has been rude. He breaks his silence after dinner. He speaks in either Common or Tauric, whichever is most widely understood.
"Please forrgive me, Jack, for not speaking beforre. I am Zeoll, also Chosen of Domi, and I may have some of the answerrs you seek." Zeoll is a liontaur, and his accent, as well as the beads and feathers braided in his hair, reveal that he came from those prides of liontaurs who have tried to keep to the traditional ways.
Those beads and feathers say that Zeoll is a bard and druidic priest of Tomi, and that he alone remains of his pride. Zeoll dresses in soft leathers, and a totem bag hangs around his neck. He has a beautiful cloak, a greatsword on his back, and a small drum at his side.
Zeoll continues, smiling, "I am a barrd, and Domi knows I feel old, maybe olderr than I look. Spending a couple yearrs dead in the Lands of Rrest has changed me." He grins to take the edge off those words.
"But let's see. Herre arre some of the things I know."
"Long ago, Domi made one Taurr Rrace. But overr time we diverrged, I do not know why or how. Even so, half a millenium ago, we werre at peace with each otherr. We lived acrross vast lands in the north, beyond the Oeax Sea."
"But at the time of the Grreat Cataclysm, the centaurrs and the minotaurrs werre at warr with each otherr. What is not commonly known is that liontaurrs starrted that warr. In the Great Cataclysm, almost all of ourr peoples died, but a few, by Domi's merrcy, ended up herre on these small islands. Because of theirr guilt, Domi put the liontaurrs on the smallest island. Some say that the hell hounds that rroam Liontaurr Isle, the ones that killed my family, arre a punishment for starrting that warr, but I do not know the trruth of that."
"Since then, Domi has rrelented, and has given the Taurrs new hope. He called us to help heal the rrifts that sunderr his people, and as a sign of that he healed the Sunderred Hearrt, that we have herre in this holy place. He lifted this island, Brridge Island, out of the waterr to be a place for all thrree Taurr races. And he has smiled on ourr childrren -- the Unitaurr Childrren -- a few of whom have been borrn with the shapes of the orriginal Taurrs. Evil or misguided Taurrs have called them abominations, but we know they arre a sign of Domi's favorr."
"I know these things arre trrue because I myself hearrd Domi say so. Herre is what he said."
Zeoll's voice changes as he recites from memory:
My dear children, you are standing in the midst of the island that will serve as headquarters to you -- my chosen ones. This island will serve as a physical confirmation of the bridge you all will be the living embodiment of ... the bridge between all Taurs.
Once upon a time, I sought to create the ultimate warrior race -- one skilled in all aspects of war. Thus was born the Taur. I do not possess omniscience, however, but immortal power. I did not realize that the different perceptions of combat could fracture my vision of one perfect warrior into many different warriors ... thus was born the Minotaur, the Centaur ... and the Lion-taur, whom is called Wemic.
My Heart was torn asunder because I thought I had caused irrepairable damage to the Taur, weakening that perfect warrior race ... but you have shown me that I did not weaken the Taur, but made the Taur stronger through diversity. Now it is up to you to prove that all three aspects of Taur can unite in spite of their differences ... that all three make up a nigh-unbeatable force for good in the Wold.
Zeoll stops reciting and looks around. "That is the first answerr to the questions you asked. Morre questions and answers rremain, about Varrgas, and the Black Sworrd. But let me drink, and let you all ask questions, beforre we turrn frrom ourr Prrotectorr to that villain."
He stops for a mug of cider and to see what people say, especiually the newcomers.

When Flat-Top starts to cough Jack looks at the Taur with what looks like no emotion just a stare.
As Jack walks by he says, "Flat-top That is fine you can call me Jack"
He walks pass the Taurs and says with out looking back "I will leave you two to talk alone"
When Zeoll talks to him he introduces himself as well and says "Zeoll nice to meet you"
After Zeoll is done with his story jacks face opens a little very rare smile and says, "I think you might be the Bard!"
Then he turns stone again.
"But I need to think about this and figure this out in my head its alot to understand in one day, but we should leave very soon very very soon, by the way I heard Flat-Top call Brahmah Captain is this because he is your leader or why?"
After his talk with Zeoll Jack walks next Moshushi and looks at the Taur and says, "Well they seem the hero's we were looking for what do you think my friend should we trust them?" Jack then goes to look around the town and later comes back in the day.

"Therre is also the tale of Varrgas. The shorrt verrsion is that both he and we arre looking forr a Black Sworrd. We want to destrroy it. He wants to use it. We all know it is on Liontaurr Isle. But we have a map!"

"I know you're on the way for the Catacombs. Could you sell this armor for me ?"
Gecktar come near Jack "Let me introduce myself too. I am Gecktar follower and servant of Domi. I imagine that we are going to share some time if we go on the same quest. May I ask you what is you specialty. Same goes for you Moshushi. We need to know more about you so we can elaborate better plans taking in account every strength of the party. Flat-top come out of the hall, takes a right, opens the door and enters the little hallway. there's five bedroom doors on each side of the hall (two of witch are open.) The centaur tell the two new taurs, "The open bedroom door are empty rooms, you can chose one for yourselves!"
Flat-top turn to leaves but adds "Oh! Come back to the cerimony! or you'll be missed!"
Zeoll Friday November 17th, 2006 5:27:00 AM
Zeoll tells Gecktar that he would be glad to sell his armor for him.
The liontaur tells him that he can't use it himself because druids can't wear metal armor.

"Elaborate on plans, yes, that would be a nice change, because so far the only tactics Winterglade has seen around here could be summarized as 'Get'em!'."
Brahmah Friday November 17th, 2006 11:27:02 AM
"Jack, I will not except your apology on the grounds that your father may not have even killed mine. That was about 30 years ago, so there is no need to be sad for me. I'm quickly realizing that I may never find the centaur who did it. I'm old and am learning to get over such things."
Then when Jack mentions killing minotaurs for a living the minotaur can't help but be impressed. "Really?! I figured you were familiar with minotaur style by the way you were fighting. The Chosen call me captain because back when I was a newcomer I was voted in as a tactical captain for combat then when our leader left the Chosen voted me in to lead the group. The title 'Captain' has stuck with me. Plus, I want my own ship, maybe, someday."
To Gecktar, "Take your time on the Ring... but not too long." He smiles.

DM Bob & Carla Monday November 20th, 2006 12:29:38 AM
Mosushi and Jack are welcomed into the group and rooms are made up for them in the keep. Zeoll recites his learned history of the creation of the taurs, the war between the taurs and the creation of Bridge Island, and Brahmah and Jack discover their own histories have an eerie similarity. Winterglade spends part of his day wandering about the village that has grown around the keep and discovers that a very old and blind wemic has been known to visit an inn called The Hayloft, where he tells stories of the past and occasionally sings for his supper. The barkeep at the Hayloft tells Winterglade to come back for the mid-day meal tomorrow when he expects the old-wemic to visit.
The next morning, the taurs discover packages from the catacombs have arrived and that staff from the keep have accepted them on the Chosen's behalf. The delivery agent made it very clear that the portal to the catacombs would remain open for the remainder of the day, but that only orders completed before noon could be assured same day delivery.
Start of Day 5/7
Winterglade Monday November 20th, 2006 2:35:22 AM
Winterglade brings his rather bulky parcel to the keep together with the orders placed by the rest of the Chosen. Then he hands them out to the owners.
"Winterglade has heard that there is a very old furball bard lodging at the Hayloft. Seeing how he came from the Wemic's Isle maybe it would be worth our while to go there today and ask him if he knows anything about the sword? Anyone is coming with Winterglade? Jack? Mosushi? This might be the fellow you were looking for. Also, Winterglade would like to tell him the verses that were on the map. If anyone thinks this is a bad idea please tell now."
Unless somebody objects strongly, Winterglade goes to the Hayloft for lunch, tries to find the bard, and then introduces himself, offers to buy him a dinner, and politely asks if he knows anything about the sword or the verses written on the map.
Finally having something productive to do, Winterglade divides his time during the day between the Hayloft, generally hanging around, and crafting a Cloak of Comfort that should be complete by the evening.
Winterglade (2) d20+1=18 Monday November 20th, 2006 2:42:01 AM
Hmmm, seeing how the bard is blind Winterglade will try to delicately bring up this subject [Diplomacy 18, 19 if bard follows Wold gods, 20 if he follows Domi]. Unless the weimic had his actual eyeballs removed Winterglade could restore his sight if the bard wanted with a Remove Blindness/Deafness.
Jack Stronghooves Monday November 20th, 2006 4:15:10 AM
Jack goes with Winterglade and tells Mosushi that is might be the perosn they are looking for and that he might want to come he also sees the weirdness in Brahmah and his history and has decided that they have met for a reason and this was not chance more it was Domi. He dosent say much when or if the old Taur says anything and lets it soke in. He also spends his day working out with Brahmah if he wants to and hanging around Mosushi being that is the person he is most comfortable with and now feels a strong sense of Jack having to protect Mosushi and Mosushi will protect him but those are just thoughts and Jack is just a simple Taur that wants things to be right in the wold

(Ceil, I will be getting another animal besides birds. Its alright, I'll play my own animal companion. Thanks for all the help in the past years with Pah'caw. ;))
Brahmah sends word to the nearest WLA office (if he hasn't already) to tell them about his stolen badge and he would like a new one.
Brahmah hangs out with Jack for a couple of hours but he wishes to spend some time with Pah'caw before he releases her. (DMs, I would like to dismiss Pah'caw ans call another from the list I sent you. I would like a stout animal, one that could stand up to combat.)
He also talks to Gecktar about his ring. "Can you customize rings or are they pretty much all the same?"
Winterglade's plan is an interesting one, but Brahmah tells him, "I wouldn't tell any stranger a thing about the map or our plans. But use your best judgement and watch your back. Jack, why don't you go along?"
As for the Catacombs gate, Brahmah has one order in already and a second in the works. Before noon is unlikely. (I can't help myself in the Catacombs or else I would! I might give myself a discount. ;))

DM Bob and Carla Monday November 20th, 2006 10:32:06 PM
The parcels from the Catacombs are distributed. Zeoll, Winterglade, and Gecktar all spend some time working on projects. Brahmah has a heart to heart with Pah'caw, but the bird doesn't seem to be focusing, instead sending images to the taur of a uniformly dark bird, washed in gold, smaller than Pah'caw, hunkered down over a nest high in the branches of a great dead tree. When the taur is finished, the bird seems anxious to be off.
A group of taurs departs Hearthold Keep at noon. Brahmah calls on the plain half-elf maid at the Catacombs who volunteers to scribe a letter to the WLA for him. It can be forwarded to league headquarters via the Catacombs. She shakes her head as she seals the scroll with wax, recognizing the enormity of the minotaur's loss. Winterglade heads for the Hayloft while Flat-Top, Jack and the solemn eyed Mosushi trail after him. Zeoll heads for the docks where he runs into the harbormaster and learns that the Gossamer Wing is expected any day now.
The Hayloft is a large, comfortable place, with a wide open floor. There are high tables, here and there, where patrons gather and stand round. Tucked into the corners are low booths with thick cushions of stout canvas stuffed with sweet smelling grasses. Fresh hay is spread lightly on the wide plants of the floor to dampen the sound of hooves on wood. The smell of biscuits wafts in from the kitchen. The lunch time crowd is small, maybe a dozen taurs. A lone wemic sits curled up near the hearth. At Winterglade's diplomatic approach, the old liontaur looks up with eyes clouded by cataract. "By Domi, that was sweetly offered," he says in response to the cleric's offer, "but this old 'fur ball' has been blessed with sight of a different kind in recompense of the afflictions of age." The aged wemic licks a paw, and rubs behind one ear, as if trying to remember something.

The centaur is silent for a moment, not sure how to breach the subject of the sword. To him, the bard looks trustworthy, but you never know. He looks around at the faces of those who came with him.
Finally he says:
"There is an evildoer named Vargas who travels the seas around the Islands. Winterglade wonders if you would happen to know anything about the goal of his quest?"

Brahmah skirts the edge of the community that has formed at the base of the keep, and after climbing up the steep side of the hill fortress, he enters the raised forested area. The forest seems greener and denser than when last he was on Bridge Island, but none the less, the ranger is comfortable in the environment. The minotaur sees the tracks of many creatures in the soft ground and while stooping to study the tracks, he hears the crunch and crackle that tells him he is not alone. (Brahmah, please roll 1d4)
Back at the Hayloft the old blind wemic listens to Winterglade's request and his once blue eyes, now clouded milky white stare off into some past only he can see. "Surely you would rather hear the tale of 'Glodi Pipeblower and the Deck of Many Things?' No? Or, perhaps a story of the 'Green Wyrm of the Culverwood?'" The old taur plucks nervously at the sparse fur of his mane. "What is to be gained be spreading tales of that black demon!? He who has found favour with the Sick One...Marteaus?" The aged taur looks up when the door opens, then closes, behind Zeoll. When the liontaur politely introduces himself, the elder bard calls, "Come closer and let me touch your face! Do I hear the echo of those who once lived under the open sky, in the sound of your voice? Domi's knees! Does one from the clan of Aene still walk the paths of the Wold?"
Gecktar Wednesday November 22nd, 2006 3:03:27 AM

Sadness and happiness war on Zeoll's face. He smiles wistfully and answers the bard in his native tongue, "Of Clan Aene few enough remain to dream of roaming the unbounded plains, and of Pride Nonowla, I am the only one left. But I am not too sad, because Tomi has called me to help all his people. I am Zeoll, of Aene and Nonowla, now Chosen of Tomi. Welcome, Grandfather, to Tomi's Bridge Island, where maybe the people here will become a bridge to bind our sundered brothers and sisters as the Sundered Heart has been healed."
Then in Tauric, so that everyone can understand, Zeoll says, "My frriends, forrgive my rrudeness in speaking frrom my hearrt. I was just intrroducing myself to this noble barrd. Who I hope will give us his name and his tale, and maybe his frriendship and his blessing forr ourr quest."

NOTE: On the last two days, each day Zeoll casts 3 extended Goodberries.
Day 1: 10 berries Day 2: 13 berries
Zeoll also seeks out GECKTAR, not only for help, as usual, with his cloak, but to give him the 4,750 gold pieces that he got from the Catacombs selling that armor.
Winterglade Wednesday November 22nd, 2006 7:10:29 AM
"Winterglade is afraid that the tale of that demon is still being written. He has crossed our path in the past and will do so again. Now, for a brief moment, the quill is in your hand, esteemed friend, and you can influence the next chapter if you share your knowledge with us. Surely, writting tales is what a bard does, no?"
Winterglade, not very good with words, looks at Zeoll for help.

Unseeing eyes shine for a moment with unshed tears, but then a blink and a swipe with a paw, and the moment is past. "He was a good minotaur, and on the side of Domi." The ancient bard settles onto his thick pillow, wrapping his tail around himself as if for warmth, before continuing. "That is the sadness of it all. Varga was once a warrior for Domi, until he turned his back on the god of courage, and accepted the embraced of the ruler of the gods of testing, the demon nightmare--Marteus!"
The old bard tells those who care to listen how Varga Larganza was raised in a small village, following the ways of Imod and eventually chosing the way of the paladin. How his abilities and natural charisma led to quick promotion over a small band of clerics and other paladins. How in clashes with followers of the god of filth and disease, Varga and his troupe were victorious time, and time again, until one day, in a terrible trap and subterfuge, the mentaurs and femtaurs in his command were wiped out. The lone survivor, Varga reported to his superiors, the high clerics at the temple. They made little of the martyrdom of his companions and offered only platitudes to assuage his grief. 'Imod only gives you as much as you can handle,' they said, and Varga wondered if Imod would put more pain in his life, because he was strong.
Unable to bear his sorrow alone, he sought consolation and was embraced by the god who once killed Imod. Varga was infected with thoughts of vengance, and corrupted into believing that he would find some consolation from spreading unhappiness in the Wold. To this end, he now calls Marteaus his master, and spreads fear, disease and suffering in his name.
The druid shifts his frail bones on his pillow, "Child of Aene and Nonowla, sons of Centaurus, who rides at night through the southern skies in spring, and sons of Taurus of the winter constellations, I tell you the minion of Marteaus has been thwarted in his attempts to gather an army for his master. The taurs of the three islands do not have the stomach for war. Nature has been bountiful, and the population is well fed and healthy. Because of this, Varga seeks a dark artifact in hopes that its powers will draw an army to him.
The old wemic draws a ragged breath, "will the curse never be lifted from over the head of the liontaur?"

Brahmah is concerned that maybe he let Pah'caw leave too soon. Worries about the Chosen start passing through his mind... his concentration wavers for a moment.
Brahmah's Visitor (DM Donna) Monday November 27th, 2006 2:17:27 PM
Even as Brahmah finds himself distracted by the concerns for his friends--animal and Taur--the telltale snapping of branches and crunching of leaf litter announces the arrival of...
...a bear. Its fur is black and it suddenly seems to charge at Brahmah!
However, at the last second, the ursine practically hurls itself at the drazzleberry bush that is beside the minotaur, snuffling noisily as it hungrily devours the sweet-smelling berries on the bush. In practically no time at all, the bush is bare...and the bear (munching on the last of the berries along with some leaves) is sitting on its haunches and eyeing Brahmah quizzically with dark eyes that hint of intelligence.
The bear tilts its head and seems to be waiting for something...
DM OOC: this isn't my Official Group post--it's just that Brahmah needs his business concluded A.S.A.P.
Flat-top Monday November 27th, 2006 2:24:53 PM
Flat-top yells at Brahmah "Look! Out!" But the bear trows Himself at the The Berry Bush??. "Well! I be darn! Looks like he likes you?"
Brahmah Monday November 27th, 2006 4:13:15 PM
The minotaur sits down and begins praying and chanting to his new friend. This will be exhausting, since it will take 24 hours from now.
Brahmah didn't pack lunch, but he will take up a few of the stray scattered berries the bear dropped, eat a few, then offer the rest to the black bear.
The ranger will first let the bear come close of it own free will. Then he will slowly begin to extend a hand for the bear to touch and finally, if allowed, pat it and scratch it behind the ears.
He will speak with the bear and ask it his name.
(I couldn't find anything that says he has to cast spells, but he will have prepared his three spells as Speak with Animal, Charm Animal and Hold Animal)
If the bear is scared by Flat-top, there will be repercussions!;)
Answers All Around - DM Donna d20=19 d20=20 Tuesday November 28th, 2006 12:06:31 AM
Brahmah and the bear get to know each other a little better--at least, Brahmah gets to know that the bear is rather eager to accept whatever food Brahmah has to offer. If he wants to know more, he will definitely need to cast that Speak to Animals spell.
Meanwhile, back at the tavern (which I didn't realize was apparently right next to the wooded area where Brahmah and the bear hook up, since it seems that Flat-top can look out a window and see the meeting of those two new bosom pals)...
The elderly wemic shifts once again, his face contemplative.
"I know not the specific details of how Vargas fares in his quest," the bard admits, "He and his followers sail the seas on the Trail of Torture, a ship manned by disciples of Marteaus...and they follow their own trail...one that leads to the treasure of the Veiled Queen."
Zeoll gives a visible start--the Veiled Queen was a figure of legend...a wemic leader of ages past who possessed a relic that reputedly gave her the power to rule generations of wemics before she and her wicked court were finally overthrown. At least, that was the legend that Zeoll had learned...
DM OOC: I rolled a 19 to see if Zeoll could recall anything about the Veiled Queen. I'm sure his bardic abilities add to that, but the above is a very respectable amount to recall.)
The old wemic bard ponders for a moment, obviously straining to remember a tale that has been almost lost to the ravages of time...but only almost. His grin of triumph bares more space than fangs, but it's a genuine smile that celebrates his recall of the topic. The bard clears his throat and begins to tell his tale, his voice becoming strong and sure, the nuances of every word wrapping around his audience and enthralling them:
"In the ancient days of the taur, there was a wemic rogue named Lachaera who loved a priestess not of his caste. She returned his love, but honored the ways of her tribe and never consummated the feelings they had for each other, instead becoming a shaman of her tribe. In an effort to win the right to mate with her, Lachaera left the island and returned with a weapon that he claimed would help the tribe become the most powerful on the island...a blade of the darkest dark.
The tribe accepted the weapon and, with it, came the rise of the Veiled Queen--the priestess whom Lachaera loved. The tribe dominated the island for generations until, for reasons unknown, the Veiled Queen and her followers faded from the tapestry of time. Some stories say she died from a broken heart after the disappearance of Lachaera soon after her rise to power...other tales claim that she fulfilled her destiny to Tomi...or Domi, if you will...and was spirited to the Lands of Rest by the god himself.
Judging from the description of this Black Sword and its effects, however, I happen to think that the sword itself had a hand in the fate of the Veiled Queen, for often it is that weapons of power develop a will if its own--and anything that has been involved in the murders of countless thousands of people cannot have pure motives..."
Jack Stronghooves Tuesday November 28th, 2006 1:21:42 AM
Jack stands there in shock
Jacks voice strained and very weak "We must get there before him, too, too, get rid of this sword"
Jack looks at all the taurs companions and Bard and has not a look of fear but a look stone.
"Thank you Sir Bard, have you anymore informaaaaaa"...............""ahgm"
Jack looks at everyone, then down
I did not mean to intrupt
Winterglade Tuesday November 28th, 2006 4:49:26 AM
"Yes, Winterglade is eager to listen, too. Is there more? Did the songs record the resting place of the blade?"
"Chosen, do you recall the verse we learned at Flyth's? Mayhap we could get some insight into our destination from that."
Winterglade looks briefly at the faces of the Taurs around him. If nobody gives him a sign not to do so, he will recite the writtings from beholder's map:
"...strides to the edge of the sea-cliff. At dusk birds tell the story in darkening boughs...ridden for days to find the rock...flashes in sunset...red waves recall the blaze of that great forge where old gods are smelted down and new ones raised...he can wield the sword until the end...slash the sky in fury, scorch in afternoon..."
Flat-top Tuesday November 28th, 2006 5:09:16 AM
As Flat-top wayches his Captain inpressing the Bear. Flat top know of a patch of sweet berries on the other side of the Tavern.
"I hope they are ripe" Flat=top think to himself, But he tells Zeoll "Tell me later about the Vailed One, I have berries to pick!"
Flat-top goes to a big patch of berries (Ripen) Pickes a bumch, put then into his empty beer mug. Then hurries to his Captens.
Flat-top will then Softly walk to the edge of the Tavern and slide the MUG to Brahmah.
Brahmah Tuesday November 28th, 2006 7:01:27 AM
Is it any wonder why the bear was nearby... the smells of food fromt he inn must woke him and he came out. Village sprall and nature often meet at such places.
"Flat-top, I need some sweet foods.... breads, honey, cakes or vegetables. Please. Whatever you can get."
Casts Speak with Animals. "Why are you here my friend? What are you called? Where is your family or den?"
(Is the bear male or female? Classic black, or one of the other varieties of black bear, such as blonde, cinnamon or sun bears? If she is female, does she have cubs?)
Gecktar Tuesday November 28th, 2006 3:22:00 PM
Still in the Hearthold Keep, Gecktar continues to work on his warhammer. The exercice is very tiring, even draining. He knows he has to put some of his own life force into the item.
Jack Stronghooves Tuesday November 28th, 2006 5:40:14 PM
Does not stop Winterglade
Zeoll Tuesday November 28th, 2006 7:03:03 PM
[OOC: Thanks, Donna, for the Bard Lore roll!]
Zeoll tells his friends what he knows about the Veiled Queen of old. He also tries to recall just where it is that she held court on Liontaur Isle. He relates that to Glade's map as best he can, being illiterate. He'll cast Comp Lang when looking at the map, in case it helps.
He thanks Glade for the reading from the map, but he is not sure how it will be helpful. Seems kind of ambiguous.
One thing that Zeoll does tell his friends .. that sword sounds like Gargul's Sword for sure! And we have to get there right away.
Zeoll will continue to work on his cloak (with good Gecktar's aid), but he is getting antsy to be away.
More Info - DM Donna Wednesday November 29th, 2006 1:24:20 AM DM OOC: my apologies for the slightly-late post (although it isn't yet midnight here in my own time zone.)
Brahmah notes that the bear is a solid color, brownish-black. It's also about five feet long, but then the animal speaks to him:
*I'm Heyou...because Mama always called me 'hey, you!' and I knew better than to keep her waiting.* Clearly the bear is only just barely an adult, something his next words confirm: *I'm a male and this is my first season on my own. I don't know why or how I got to here exactly...just got the feeling that I needed to be here. The fishing's been horrible--got anymore of those berries? I'm hungry..!*
Flat-top's quickly-gathered berries disappear faster than the centaur gathered them, and poor Heyou eyes both taurs rather plaintively.
Meanwhile, Back inside the Tavern...
The elderly bard guffaws at Jack's apology.
"No regrets, young one," the ancient tells him, waving a dismissive paw, "Tales are meant to provoke questions--or, at least, some comtemplation." The bard screws his face up in concentration. "There was one other song of old...a ballad that mentions the disappearance of the Veiled Queen and where her seat of power was located on the island...if only I could recall..."
DM OOC: Zeoll needs to make another Bard Lore check...and I would appreciate getting a link to Cayzle's Wemic page so I can reacquaint myself with the layout of Wemic Island.
Flat-top Wednesday November 29th, 2006 4:47:20 AM
Flat-top does not go back into the tavern, but instead runs to the Keep! then quickly enters the pantry in the kitche, and gets a comb od honey. then to the Cold room (ice box) pickup a nice big fish, to the vegie room foe a basket of berries.
Flat-top runs out the back door, to the tavern, STOPS! In frount of the tavern, then slowly goes toward the back of the tavern. Once there and of to the side (where the bear will not see him. Flat-top will push the foo towars Brahmah, "PSSST! this is all the bear food I could carry!"
Flat-top put the food down next to the Captain.
Winterglade Wednesday November 29th, 2006 7:23:02 AM We might be on to something here, then...
Winterglade sits calmly, not wanting to ruin the concentration of the bards. Only the twiddling of his fingers betrays he is eagerly awaiting the answer.
Jack Stronghooves Wednesday November 29th, 2006 10:47:47 AM
Jack nods aat winterglade and waits
Brahmah Wednesday November 29th, 2006 11:32:35 AM
"Thanks Flat-top, thats fine." He looks back at the bear. "Heyou. Well, if someone calls me Hey you, its considered rude. We have names. If you would like one of your own, I can find one for you or you can keep Heyou if you like." He smiles and feeds the bear. "If you like, you can travel with me and you will find all the food you like."
Zeoll d20+8=27 Wednesday November 29th, 2006 5:16:40 PM
Zeoll thinks about anything he may have heard in a song or tale that seems to apply ... Bardic Lore check 27! Woo hoo!
Zeoll relates what he may know to his friends, and thanks the old bard for jostling his memory.
Hearthold Keep and Bridge Island -- it is mostly up to date, except for some details on the current staff. And I left the intro with poor Kular on the first page, even though he is dead.
Memories--DM Donna Thursday November 30th, 2006 2:48:31 AM
If a bear can be said to shrug, then Brahmah sees this one shrug.
*I don't know about "rude"...* the ursine readily admits, *...she called me that and I came. It worked for us. But...* Now the young bear eagerly accepts the treats fetched forth by Flat-top and dispensed by Brahmah, *...I'll answer to anything you want if you have food like this!*
It seems that Brahmah has a new animal companion--and he didn't even have to cast any kind of Charm!
Meanwhile, back inside the Tavern...
Zeoll recalls a verse he learned as an adolescent:
As the Daystar sleeps As the Farplume weeps Amidst the peaks of same The Nightblade lies As the lover cries Forevermore her name
The younger bard recalls that he learned the singsong stanza because it was a fine example of deferred poetry and syntax (the first two lines rhyme with each other, but the rhyme for the third line is deferred until line six.)
When he'd asked where the rhyme came from, nobody seemed to know except for one of the eldest members of the clan--who claimed that it was a rhyme handed down by the Sunsetters...a clan that lived on the west end of the island and claimed to have the blood of the Veiled Queen running in their veins.
When Zeoll relates this, the elder bard's head bobs in agreement.
"The Sunsetters live close to the coastal village Fffiffft." he says, then adds: "Logic dictates this is where you all should go to find more clues about where the Black Sword may be...but beware the clans of Fffiffft, for they clamor for the days of yore, when wemics were crafty and clever and trusted no other taur..."
Fffiffft, as the liontaurs of the party all know, is a village located on the northwest end of Wemic Island.
Winterglade Thursday November 30th, 2006 4:42:14 AM
"Fffifft? Isn't that what wemics say when they have to step into water?"
"Thank you kindly for sharing your wisdom with us. Winterglade hopes something good will yet come out of this."
Flat-top Thursday November 30th, 2006 5:48:04 AM
Flat-top galops to the frount door of the Tavern, while yelling back at the Captain "Captain! I hope that Bear of yours is frendly to All us taurs!!"
Flat-top enters the tavern, bellies up to the Bar, "Please! Bartender! A drink! Make that a Dragons Delight! Please!"
Flat-top drinks it down, "Beeeerrrrppp!!" he turns to Zeoll, "You'll never guest what the Captain is Inpressing NOW!!"
Brahmah Thursday November 30th, 2006 6:54:51 AM
"Heyoo follow me and I'll get you something good to eat." He pat his young cub and guides him as close to the inn as he is willing. (Haven't trained Heyoo yet to Heel or Attack. Can't I train him for a purpose instead of a trick?)
Brahmah Additional d20+1=19 Thursday November 30th, 2006 6:56:39 AM

Gecktar Thursday November 30th, 2006 3:18:07 PM
Gecktar attend the Keep and helps to prepare the diner for the other Chosen when its time and the work on his warhammer is completed
Jack Stronghooves Thursday November 30th, 2006 5:06:32 PM
Jack bows to the Bard
"Thank you Master Bard you have been very kind and helpful I hope that you will live well and that many more people can hear you wonderful stories"
With that Jack is gone riding to the keep and at dinner saying
"We should be on are way tomorrow if we can"
After Dinner Jack packs his things and wonders if Brahmah would like to train again tonight.
Then Jack looks to find Mosushi to talk to him about the current events and plans of there Trip.
(OOC... Is the Mosushi still playing or was he ever or whats the deal I'm just wondering)
Zeoll Thursday November 30th, 2006 7:23:01 PM
Zeoll thanks the blind bard warmly. "You have helped us morre than we can tell you." he says. "Please be welcome herre on Brridge Island. You would be welcome herre in the village orr at the Keep."
"Now we know wherre to go. We just need a ship to get therre!"
Wrapping it up--DM Donna Friday December 1st, 2006 1:53:47 AM DM OOC: while teaching an animal to do something on command is always a "trick", some "tricks" are easier to learn than others...especially if you learn what kind of motivation tends to help the animal retain the new behavior. ;D
The newly dubbed Heyoo willingly follows Brahmah to the door of the inn, but is leery of going inside.
*I remember there was one time when I smelled this really tasty fruity thing and went to go see--it was just sitting there in an opening kind of like this one--* the bear swipes a paw at the doorframe, --only smaller? Anyhow, I got the tasty fruity thing, but the female on the other side of the opening got really loud and scared me! I'll stay here...* With this, the ursine parks himself to one side of the tavern's door.
Inside the tavern, the elderly bard does his best to strain every iota of information that he can recall about the subject at hand.
"I can think of nothing else," he admits with a sigh, "And I'm sure that there are plenty of available ships at the dock. You just need to get ahold of the speediest one..."
Another DM OOC: the player for Mosushi notified DMs Bob & Carla about his schedule, which is the only reason that Mosushi isn't posting. At this point, Mosushi will be an "auto-PC"...he'll follow and be in the background, available to the party in case he's needed (like for a battle); the player will RP him when he can return to the game.
Winterglade Friday December 1st, 2006 3:42:19 AM
"Well, we have been told a few days ago that the next ship to be ready to set sails will leave the island the day after tomorrow. That is one more full day of waiting."
"Thank you, yes. Can Winterglade offer to pay for your dinner as a small token of gratitude?"
[If the bard accepts Winterglade will offer the bartender 20 gp and ask him to serve the bard a good dinner and some nice wine in the evening.]
Flat-top Friday December 1st, 2006 5:07:26 AM
Flat-top listens to his friends, then add "Hmmm! I'd rather eat in the Keep! Better food, better conversation, and better for Hey-you!" Flat-top smiles at his friends, as if he has just made a Great Idea!
Brahmah and Heyoo Friday December 1st, 2006 10:20:50 AM
The minotaur walks up to the bar, asks for a bucket of water, some sweet bread and a bottle of berry wine.
"Friends, the bear sitting outside is a new friend. His name is Heyoo and he's quite nice." Warns the minotaur. "So, be kind when you meet him. He's just a cub."
Zeoll Friday December 1st, 2006 3:52:01 PM
Zeoll greets Brahmah's bear affectionaltely. "Welcome, Brrotherr Bearr," he says after casting Speak with Animals.
Zeoll says, "Arren't we waiting forr that Captain Lirra?"
Gecktar Friday December 1st, 2006 4:18:15 PM
At the keep, Gecktar tastes themeal he has prepared.
'Sounds great !' he thinks. 'They will be happy to have a good meal when coming back'.
DM Donna Friday December 1st, 2006 11:10:37 PM
Basically, let me know if there is anything specific you want to get accomplished before boarding your outbound ship...
...as well as if there is anything in particular that Brahmah wants to do before trying to convince a bear to willingly climb aboard "a big wooden floaty thing" with a lot of loud sailors on it. ;D
Winterglade Saturday December 2nd, 2006 4:27:08 AM
Winterglade, as usual, can't help but offer his two coppers on everything.
"Uh, Brahmah, how young exactly is your new friend? Are you sure it will be safe for him to travel where we are going to go?"
[By my count there are two more days before we board the ship. Winterglade would like to make four Cloaks of Comfort in that time.]
Flat-top Saturday December 2nd, 2006 5:49:37 AM
"Ok! I'm Hungry! Let's go home and eat!" ask Flat-top, "Come with Me Jack and you too Musulin! We'll have the best meal EVER at the Keep!" with this said Flat-top Heads for the Keep.
As he trots away he tell his Captain, "I hope you have control on that young bear, when we sail to Weimic Island. I hope he does not panic!."
Jack Stronghooves Saturday December 2nd, 2006 12:49:40 PM
"His name is Moshushi"
Jack says when Flat-Top mispronounces it
"And yes food sounds good"
Brahmah Sunday December 3rd, 2006 11:22:36 AM
He addresses Glades concerns. "I understand your point Glade and thank you for the concern. Heyoo told me he's just out on his own, so I figure about a year and a half or so. If he gets too beat up and wants to leave, I'll have no reason to keep him. Fact is, where we're going, we need as many able friends as possible and my eagle, as loyal and beautiful as she is, can't handle combats as well as a stout mammal might. He can take care of himself or his mother wouldn't have let him go."
Several things should happen prior to Brahmah and Heyoo boarding...
...first, and most importantly, food! Food! FOOD! Brahmah will purchase some iron rations and other dry goods for the trip. But he will have to get some fish and berries for Heyoo for the boat trip so we don't have a hungry bear jumping overboard. At the very least, get a fishing pole from a sailor or purchase one.
Second, he will light a fire under Gecktar to get his ring done. He's not in too much of a hurry, but given the situation on the Doctor's Island, he really would rather have it, sooner, rather than later. Traveling into the unknown, Brahmah would rather not have to depend on finding a food source for him and the bear.
Lastly, Brahmah will leave several things behind in his room in the Keep. -Shark tooth souvenir, okay for necklace or totem bag-DM Carla [Thursday May 25th, 2006 6:51:34 AM ] -Wrapped in a fur bound leather bundle is a set of tools that are specially designed for tattooing of the body [100gps value, Gift Day 2004] -Small scroll case for bird for sending messages -bag of choice meats for Pah'caw
(Will be sending you a PC sheet and SEVERAL Catacomb purchases, Donna.)
Brahmah Additional Sunday December 3rd, 2006 11:24:24 AM
He will also begin training Heyoo in basics. Heel, sit, fetch... to see what he might be best at and further that skill.
Gecktar Monday December 4th, 2006 3:28:57 AM
Gecktar smiles at the urge of Brahmah. "Said you captain. I only have three days of works since I receive the material. I will begin working on it, but I will not finish it because I have other priorities too. I need my warhammer being enhanced first then I will work on the ring. Think about the things I delay to create it for you."
"In the meanwhile, if you fear to lack food, I could memorise a spell that will provide enough food for the entire group. But I fear it will not be sufficient for the bear and most of all I think Heyoo will not dare taste it."
OOC: during the next couple days Gecktar will work on his warhammer to finish it and then begin to work on the ring.

With very little to pack, Zeoll is ready to go. He is sad to be leaving Bridge Isle so soon, but with any luck, the Chosen will be back before too long.
He wishes his new friends and old farewell, and prays near the Healed Heart before the departure.
