Time Passes - DM Donna Tuesday December 5th, 2006 3:00:43 AM DM OOC: Once again I must apologize for the late post--Real Life keeps interfering with my intentions. That...and what's the name of the captain for the Gossamer Wing? She's supposed to be available to the Chosen for their trip, but I forgot her name...
Two days seem to fly by.
Gecktar gets to work on those items that he had prioritized earlier.
Brahmah does, indeed, get to spend more time with the ever-hungry Heyoo, who is easily teachable thanks to the honeybuns of the Keep's kitchen staff. DM OOC: you may consider that Heyoo definitely learns "heel", "sit", "stay" and "lie down". His "fetch" still needs work, as he tends to get distracted by anything that looks/smells/hints of being like food.
Utilizing the knowledge imparted by the old blind wemic and the maps that the Taurs managed to hang onto, the Chosen confirm that they must get to the village of Fffiffft in order to find more clues to where the Black Sword may be.
They also learn that they can secure passage to Wemic Island on the Gossamer Wing.
DM OOC: I really do need to bone up on my Taur lore--I forgot how long the journey from Bridge Island to Wemic Island is supposed to take! I will consult with the Wemic Authority on this (via email, please, Cayzle!) Meanwhile, if there is anything specific you want to make sure that you do bring along or do during the sea voyage, post now or forever hold your peace!
Winterglade Tuesday December 5th, 2006 5:04:59 AM
Winterglade spends the best part of these two days working on his Cloak project [at the rate of 8 hours per cloak, it should be enough time to make four, given that he doesn't have to sleep that much? Please let me know if this is not the case]. When he is not working he is busy being restless and worrying about the upcoming sea voyage.
"Bleck, another ship. We definitely got to get ourselves some travel magic."
Flat-top Tuesday December 5th, 2006 5:06:55 AM
"Ahhh! To be on the Gossmare Wing again, Captain! What do you want me to fix? anything from metal to nets? I'm ready to work!" Flat-top takes off his armor, turns to Winterglade asking, "Are you going to be alright in the Cabin, I don't have any more Sea Weads for your Stomack! Sorry."
Flat-top turns to Jack Stornghoof and Mushust "Are you two going to hide with sea sickness or Help out up here?? The Girls really need our help!"
Brahmah Tuesday December 5th, 2006 7:38:12 AM
(Captain Lira and I believe her firstmate is Yonanda(a minotaur female) or something of that nature.)
Brahmah picks up some fresh mint for journey, knowing the wemics' stomachs tend to get disgruntled.
The ranger greets all the female crew members he sees and spends an hour catching up with the firstmate. He introduces his new bear and reassures the ladies that his former eagle is safe, after recieving several upsetting looks aboout her absence.
Hearing Glade's statement of travel magic, the ranger states his opinion. "Travel magic is unnatural, that is why we were given ships."
Zeoll Tuesday December 5th, 2006 1:48:13 PM
The liontaur is very happy to be under way. While he is travelling, he asks his pal Gecktar to help him put the final touches on his cloak, which is looking more and more complete.
Hooray! After 1 year and four months, Zeoll is poised on the brink of finishing his cloak!
[OOC: e-mailed Donna.]
Aboard the Gossamer Wing - DM Donna Tuesday December 5th, 2006 9:56:29 PM
Those who have been aboard the Gossamer Wing before can see that the ship's been improved a mite since the last time the party journeyed aboard her: the rigging seems to have reworked--updated, if you will--so that it most likely is even more efficient than it had been originally.
The sturdy yet feminine form of Yonanda looms at the top of the gangplank when the party approaches. She grins (or, at least, bares her teeth in your general direction), and her booming voice confirms that she is, indeed, greeting you.
"Welcome aboard, Chosen of Domi!" Yonanda says, reaching out to help any who need it to make the transition over that slight hump between gangplank and deck. "We have quarters set aside for your use...and our windmage tells us that the weather patterns will hold so that our journey to Wemic Island should take eight or nine days! Hurry aboard, though--the tide waits for no Taur!"
Heyoo is a cause for some concern, but Yonanda assures Brahmah that, if he can keep the bear from pooping in the wrong places, then there should be no cause for alarm.
"The best place for him to...ah...do his business would be amidships--" Yonanda says, snorting as she calculates, "--at least that way, 'twould be easiest for us to use the mops to push the...um...load off the decks and into the sea..." Her ears twitch, as this a subject she's not too comfortable speaking about, either because Brahmah is a male or simply because he's one of the well-known Chosen.
DM OOC: the trip will take about nine days. Again, if there are projects that your PC needs to get done, they'll have that time to do them. Should any of those projects result in the manufacture of something that isn't yet on your (or any other) PC's character sheet, you MUST send me an email stating the item (or items) to be added to your PC's sheet. Please do that as soon as possible.
Winterglade Wednesday December 6th, 2006 2:01:13 AM
"Unnatural? What about that ring you have been talking to Gecktar about, you didn't seem to have problems with that? How is being fed by magic less unnatural than letting magic move you about, hmm?"
"Nine days on ship? Oh just kill me now."
With a sad expression on his face Winterglade goes for his last run for the week [standard selection of spells for the voyage, but Endure Elements over all 1st level slots and over three 2nd level slots (leaving Remove Paralysis), and Water Walk over all 3rd level spells]. Then, like a convict on his way to the gallows, he climbs onboard.
During the voyage he is seldom seen on the deck, preferring to stay deep down in the hold where the heaving of the ship is less felt. There he continues his needlework, until he eventually runs out of materials [should be plenty of time to make 8 Cloaks of Comfort].
Gecktar Wednesday December 6th, 2006 4:05:35 AM "It is always a pleasure to share a trip with you and your team Yonanda" says Gecktar while boarding the ship and answering the welcome of the firstmate.
Gecktar takes place in the quarters they where allocated. "I will be happy to help you Zeoll, and for sure ending the work on the cloak is a good news"
Gecktar has ended his work on the warhammer and will proceed by ending the ring for Brahmah. During the trip he will create a new ring for his own use, enhance his shield, create a wand and begin to work of holy vestments.
(OOC: two days necessary to end the work for Brahmah's ring, three days of work for his own sustenance ring, one day of work on his shield and one day of work on the new wand. I will email you all details)
Flat-top Wednesday December 6th, 2006 5:25:28 AM
Flat-top smiles at Yonanda, "Sorry to say that that bear will be taking most of our Captain time! He'll be buzy training Heyou. So I will miss the wrestling matches. But we have another Minotaur! his Name is Musulin?" Flat-top smiles as he points out the new Chosen Musilin.
Brahmah Wednesday December 6th, 2006 12:06:32 PM
"Glade, I see your point. But the ring will likely going save me from dying an unnatural death due to being poisoned. Travel magic is useful in its own right, but if we can get there by boat, I'm more comfortable. As you would be via teleport or ether travel. When we acquire it, I'll use it, though unwillingly. I certainly don't think Vargas is traveling by ship. He's got that mage ***** doing his bidding." With the last statement, he cracks his knuckles. "Glade, you will have to explain to me why travel magic is safer than ships." He smiles.
He prepares two Speak with Animals and Summon Nature's Ally 2.
Zeoll Wednesday December 6th, 2006 3:21:47 PM
The liontaur is grateful for Gecktar's help. "My frriend, you have been a true pal, and I will not soon forrget your incrredible kindnesss. Thank you!"
That takes seven days. With the last two, Zeoll makes his Smooth Talking Shades, first popularized by the famous Renik of Windhorn Hamlet.
Jack Stronghooves Wednesday December 6th, 2006 5:05:02 PM
Jack boards the ship
Goes down to where he will be staying buts down his stuff and goes up to the top to look at ocean and smell the fresh air
Jack has a stone look but his eyes are burning hunger for the adventure that is about to take place.
"For the good of all Taurs and You DOMI" Jack says into the wind loud only for him and Domi to hear
Sailing, Sailing, Over the Bounding Main - DM Donna Thursday December 7th, 2006 12:58:50 AM DM OOC: the items listed from the last time that I posted are allowed to be created. Please send me your updated Character Sheets so that your PCs may have the items incorporated officially before they actually follow whatever clues they find in Fffiffft.
Amazingly enough, the trip to Wemic Island is fairly uneventful--although Heyoo seems to have finally learned the complexity of "fetch" and, apparently, the joys of being housebroken (or is that shipbroken?)
Yonanda is assigned (more or less) to make sure that the Chosen get to complete their particular tasks without being bothered by the rest of the crew. She also takes the time (should they be willing) to pal around a bit with the minotaurs of the party.
Mosushi ponders exactly how to get Flat-top to remember his name. Hmmm...perhaps the newcomer will change his name to something easier for the centaur to remember?
All of the Chosen keep busy (even Winterglade, in spite of not being able to run in his preferred manner) and soon the cry from the crow's nest is heard:
"Land ho..!"
Wemic Island slowly but surely looms ever-larger on the horizon--this part of the island featuring rocky/sandy beaches and a mist-covered mountain range as a backdrop to the village nestled on the coast: Fffiffft, whose gross village product consists of seafood, shell craft items and harvesting jungle products from the tropical forest that lies nearby.
The Gossamer Wing docks at one of the piers. Yonanda calls to the Chosen:
"Come see--I think there's a welcoming committee..."
Her voice, however, has more than a little trepidation in it, for--at the end of the dock that is closest to the village--six beefy wemics stand with spears in hand, staring at the group of mixed taurs.
None of them are smiling.
Everyone in the party must roll a Spot check versus DC15 in order to pick out the leader for the group--a male with a head/mane of dark brown hair who appears just a little more muscular...and grim...than the other five wemics.
Winterglade d20+4=8 Thursday December 7th, 2006 5:05:59 AM
[Spot 8]
"Uh, travel magic carries its risks, Captain, but nothing even remotely as grim as the trials the last shipwreck has put us through."
The centaur has been eagerly awaiting the chance to set his hooves on firm ground and have a run once again. His saddlebags have been packed long before the ship dropped the anchor. He did not expect a welcoming commitee at the pier.
"Uh oh, this calls for group effort. Maybe Zeoll will talk to them and Winterglade will try to shut up for a few minutes."
Gecktar d20+5=15 Thursday December 7th, 2006 5:16:49 AM
After two days of work during the trip, Gecktar looks for Brahmah. "Here you are" he says while handing a shining band of gold "Will you dare put it around you finger" he says smiling.
As soon as he has finished the ring for Brahmah he will work on other items for himself.
As he hears the cry from the Crow nest, Gecktar stops his work. Coming coming on the deck he looks at the now visible Island. Looking at the spot Yonanda show them he sees the welcoming comitee.
"Zeoll, I think we are going to need all your talents..."
(OOC: Donna did you received my mail ? I have a failure delivery message...)
DM OOC: no, I did not. Feel free to post on this board--just remember to check off the "Private to DMs" box above the "Submit" button.
Flat-top d20+6=17 Thursday December 7th, 2006 6:06:27 AM
Flat-top is busy with one of the Nets, when he hears the the cry of land. He goes to the rail, he will stand between Jack and Musuhi,"Excuse Me! Please Musuhi! Can i get in here?" Flat-top takes a look at the six wemick, "Oh the Terrible Six are here to greet us, the cute one who think he's the leader is in the middle! Zeoll! It look like this is a job for your Golden Tongue!"
Flat-top will see that nothing happens to Zeoll. But will ask Brahmah, "Captain! can Heyou, Feck a good scare into those Liontaurs??"
DC Check - 17 (made it)
Brahmah d20+13=27 Thursday December 7th, 2006 12:01:01 PM
Smiling, Brahmah thanks Gecktar for his haste in creating the ring. Puts it on and then grabs for food for him and Heyoo. (Must wear the ring a week before functioning.)
When land is spotted, the ranger gather his gear and the bear for landfall.
"Land Chosen. Gather your gear."
He thanks the crew of ladies and readies to depart, pack slumped on one shoulder, ready for whatever awaits them.
(Spot 27)
Jack Stronghooves d20+2=19 Thursday December 7th, 2006 5:49:16 PM
Jack Gathers his stuff and is ready to go with rhino hide and all
When Flat top again says Mosushi wrong he looks at flat top and says with a smile "Its Mosushi"
When Jack sees the Party he puts his hand on his Great Axe and looks at the chosens leader with a look of "What the Heck do we Do?"
And MAKes his spot check!
Zeoll d20+21=39 Thursday December 7th, 2006 5:54:48 PM
Zeoll smiles shyly at his friends and their expectations. But he tries not to disappoint. He does not spot the leader of the native wemics (Spot 14 darn).
As the ship docks, Zeoll sings a traditional hymn, alternating stanzas in Wemic and Tauric. (Perform 35)
The grasslands call our spirits home But we are exiled here at sea We fear we'll never see the plains Where once we roamed so far and free.
But Tomi gives us courage, pray To long for home but still to know This island is a home to us For home is where we long to go.
The liontaur druid/bard steps forward to greet the wemics at the dock. "My brrothers," he says in his native tongue, "My soul is glad to see my own kind after so long away. I am Zeoll, of Clan Aene, who has been chosen for Tomi's service. On behalf my company, I offer you glad greetings! Well met!"
Diplomacy 39

Doing what his Captain (Brahmah) Told them to do, He gets his armor on, then grabs his Shield and +2 Mornong-star.
Flat-top answers Jack Stronghooves "Sorry! about the miss pronoubcing his Name, I Have trouble with my "S"es, But right now I'n getting ready to fight those Kitty Cats!"
Toros d20=10 Friday December 8th, 2006 7:02:25 AM
Would not Zeoll's wonderful melody be good enough to arise the deads from the grave yards, or gather the animals from the wine yards, let alone it would shake Toros from out of his silence for the last a couple of weeks!?...
The liontaur bard/barbarian/cleric joins in the hymn of the wemic liontaur bard/druid with his barely visible performance. (d20, 10 Aid Another, giving Zeoll +2 in his perform / diplomacy check)
OOC: Finally, I am back! Hope I have not missed much, and you are all well!!
Brahmah Friday December 8th, 2006 11:33:06 AM
"I will miss your ship Captain, like always!" Says the minotaur. "May the wind be at your back."
The Not-So-Welcoming Committee - DM Donna Friday December 8th, 2006 4:40:01 PM
The half-dozen wemics at the end of the dock still do not smile, but Zeoll's hymn and greeting at least give the Taurs the feeling that the stoic group is now not quite as...grim, as they otherwise may have originally been.
The dark-maned wemic steps forward.
"Zeoll of Clan Aene," he announces in a rumbly voice, "Hissta of Clan Plainstrider bids you welcome and commands your presence at her fire. We are to be your...escort. You are permitted to bring the lesser Taurs with you." If the rest of the Chosen weren't sure before, the dark-maned wemic's look encompasses the centaurs and minotaurs of the group as he says "lesser Taurs".
DM OOC: I'll be posting at least once more over the weekend to make up for accidentally skipping a day of posting.
Jack Stronghooves Friday December 8th, 2006 4:55:15 PM
Jack Nods to Flat-Top "Thats all right you'll get it"
When the Taurs Say "lesser Taur" Jacks face turns pale and Although he would very much like to punch that Taur in the face for being so dumb all he does is smile and hold on to his great ax till his hands hurt.
Then Jack waits, new to the group he just wants to follow there lead
Zeoll d20+15=28 Friday December 8th, 2006 9:56:38 PM
Zeoll smiles and thanks the wemics for their welcome. "We would be honored to follow your lead," he tells them.
For the benefit of any of the Chosen who do not speak wemic, Zeoll translates into Tauric. He adds, "Come, frriends. Let's talk with this chief and see what we can see. I'm sure that our gentle and powerful ways will win us the rrespect we deserrve."
With these words, Zeoll uses emphasis and body language to pass a secret message (per Bluff skill description) to his friends (Bluff check 28): Please be gracious and do not jump when they provoke you! Be patient and wise!
"Lead on," Zeoll says to the wemics.
Winterglade Saturday December 9th, 2006 3:18:39 AM
"Yes, they are the very embodiment of hospitality, aren't they. Still, their home, their rules. Winterglade just hopes he will be able to go for a run soon or he is going to go insane."
"Uh, Flat-top? What's with the battle gear?"
Flat-top Saturday December 9th, 2006 5:04:45 AM
With out taking his eyes off, the Big Wemicks, Flat-top replies to Winterglade's Question. "This MorningStar around my neck is no longer a weapon, it's a relick. It is the weapon that Domi himself gave me, oh! so long ago. The one MorningStar (+2) that I fight with is on my belt.
Now If I should go for either weapon on my back or at my side, that! My Friend meanes I'm Going into a Fight!"
Escorted Along - DM Donna Saturday December 9th, 2006 7:05:06 PM
The wemics in the "escort" seem to be mildly disappointed when none of the Chosen rise to the obvious bait. They turn smartly and fall into a loose formation around the group--it's quite clear that the Fffiffft wemics mean for the newcomers to keep their distance from the "regular citizens" of the village.
The wemic village is fairly typical for a mostly-permanent location by the sea: many of the dwellings seem to be made with wooden walls of a bamboo-like wood and roofs of thatched grasses. The wemics that pass by the parade the two groups make glance curiously at the Chosen, especially at the centaurs and minotaurs of the group. One cub (couldn't have been more than three years old) toddles speedily towards Jack with wide eyes and a grin of utter delight, his little hands reaching up as though silently asking the centaur to lift him up--but the youngster is all but tackled by an anxious female (his mother, no doubt) and she hustles him off.
Well, at least not ALL of the village wemics are intimidated by the alien Taurs.
Soon the Chosen are brought to a large building and ushered within. Inside the large, clear area they see a liontaur on a dais. The wemic wears a burgundy robe with wide white stripes at the wrists. Seashells are braided into the waist-length hair and a carved staff is held in one hand.
"Chief Hissta, we have brought the intruders as you have commanded." the lead wemic says, bowing low. Hissta nods and then eyes Zeoll with some disdain.
"How is it that a member of the once-noble Clan Aene comes to consort with lesser Taurs..?" she asks in a voice that expresses much displeasure. "And why should they be allowed to set foot on wemic soil instead of being killed..?"
Winterglade Sunday December 10th, 2006 4:26:35 AM
Winterglade suppresses the feelings of impatience and wounded pride and decides it is best to let Zeoll handle the situation. He just sighs and folds his arms on his chest.
First time I run into a fruitcake this early before Winter Solstice.
Flat-top Sunday December 10th, 2006 5:51:50 AM
Flat-top whispers to Winterglade and Jack Stronghoof, "EASY! Genteltaurs! Look where we are? were in a round building Much like a barrel! and those big Weimics all have bow and arrows?? Just like shooting fish! Don't you could just feel those arrows hiting you? The child out side recognised us centaurs as a pony rides! I and a few other Chosen use to do for the children.Let's see what Zeoll can do?"
Flat-top stands there with the other minotaurs and centaurs.
Jack Stronghooves Sunday December 10th, 2006 3:28:20 PM
Jack Looks at the child when he comes up to him and smiles at it, when the mother runs up and takes the child away he turns white again hand grading on his great Axe
When Flat top talks to him he nods but does not remove his hand from his Great Axe
"So you guys always this popular?
Gecktar Monday December 11th, 2006 3:26:47 AM
Gecktar inwardly smiles at the sight of the young wemic. Definitely their cause isn't lost. It is all matter of indoctrination, and this clan seems to be a good example of what can be done.
A light appears in the cloudy sky of their trip, and this is not the comment of 'leat Taurs' made by one or another that will change this. They will have to fight centuries of brain washing. It will take time and efforts, their pride should certainly suffer, but all is here they will be welcome in the futur.

So if some of the children here come to you and raises their arms to you. They only want to ride on your back.Poor little things! They don't understand! Yet."
Zeoll d20+21=29 Monday December 11th, 2006 6:21:09 AM
Zeoll bows and says to the wemic leader, "Generrous chief, You have ourr thanks forr yourr welcome. I am glad to be grreeted by you in my home land."
Zeoll intoduces himself and his friends.
"Let me answer your questions, oh Chief Hissta. How was it that I have some to call these Taurs my brrotherrs? Firrst it was because Tomi called us all to serrve him. But next it was because I have seen their strrengths, and togetherr we have accomplished things that I could not do alone. Then at last, it was because I call them all my frriends."
"And why should they be allowed to stand on this land, ourr native soil? Because we have come on a holy quest, to stop an evil minotaurr frrom taking an ancient rrelic of grreat powerr. If he gains it, many lives will be lost, for he follows the Sick God. If we get it beforre him, we will be able to defeat him."
Zeoll elaborates on these themes. He emphasizes Domi's teaching that all Taurs are his children. He also makes it clear that under his respect and patience is an iron core of determination.
Diplomacy 29
Zeoll looks to his friends, and hopes they will pitch in with their own answers.
Jack Stronghooves Monday December 11th, 2006 3:00:38 PM
Jack answers Flat top "I understand, I was kinda hurt by the mother rushing her child away from me like I was a Evil Creature that is why I may have looked odd to you"
When Zeoll starts to talk Jack will not speak till spoken to or the others speak. Now he just sits and waits, hand on his Great Axe.
DM OOC: edited as per the request of Jack's player.
Brahmah Monday December 11th, 2006 7:33:39 PM
Brahmah holds his tongue with the escort, but can't help being 'diplomatic' when Hissta addresses the rest of the Chosen as if they do not exist. "The next taur that refers to Domi's Chosen as LESSER will find out what lesser really means.
Now, with that said, I'm Brahmah, Leader of the Chosen and I respectfully ask that you at least address us kindly. I care not for your inferior's statements, but someone of your stature should speak with a little more respect and distintion. It is a pleasure to meet you." He bows and shuts up.

Parlay - DM Donna d20=2 d20=8 Tuesday December 12th, 2006 12:44:00 AM
Zeoll's words obviously make the matriarch of the village think...however, being a matriarch, it's hard to see what she's thinking.
Brahmah's word obviously make the matriarch think again--and the thunderclouds on her face are quite obvious.
"Never have I been subjected to such abuse--and from a member of a lesser subspecies!" she practically roars.
"If anyone is guilty of abuse, my chief," a low voice says from one side of the wide hut, "It is you."
"WHAT?" now Hissta whirls and faces the speaker, a relatively young male wemic who pads forward with a staff in hand and a mildly rebuking expression on his face.
"A hostess doesn't belittle her guests," the young wemic points out, "Yet snipes and insults have been heaped upon your visitors, first by your guard and now by you, my chief. Such behavior shames the line of Plainstrider."
"I dare..." answers the male, "...because I am shaman to the village, as was my father before me. Both he and I told you of Tomi's will, but you cling to the old ways of thinking."
"Wemics are the superior taur!" insists the chief.
"Wemics are part of a whole--all taurs are equal!" counters the cleric.
"You're too young to understand!"
"But my father told you the same thing..." the shaman points out, "...and you claimed he was too old and feeble--you can't have it both ways. Tomi has spoken. Wemics, centaurs and minotaurs are equal...and now they are here seeking the blade of legend, the Black Sword. Whatever else they may be to you, you must concede that we cannot allow that artifact to fall into the hands of a follower of Marteaus!"
Hissta glares at the young cleric, but then nods her head in concession.
"You are...right, Rory." she says the words as though each one is dragged from her. "Even we here in Fffiffft have heard of the evil that Vargas is willing to do in the name of that god. Very well...we give our permission for these Taurs to remain on the Plainstrider territory for as long as they need to accomplish their mission." Hissta waves a dismissive hand.
"I have spoken. You are dismissed." With this, the chief turns and leaves, muttering something about being pushed around by a cub who barely has a mane to speak of...
Rory the Shaman - DM Donna Tuesday December 12th, 2006 1:09:43 AM
The young wemic (truly he is barely out of adolescence) turns to Brahmah, holding out a hand.
"Please accept my apologies, Brahmah, Chosen of Tomi," he says sincerely, "Hissta was raised with the highest of opinions for Plainstriders first, wemics second and everyone else as a very distant third. I am Rory, shaman of Fffiffft...how can I help you in your quest..?"
Winterglade Tuesday December 12th, 2006 5:30:51 AM
Something has been nabbing at Winterglade's inner thoughts, but he couldn't put his finger on it until after the exchange between Brahmah and Rory was finished. And then - yes, that was it!
"Rory, shaman of Fffiffft, Winterglade of the Windwalker tribe greets you. Your offer of help is most welcome, but please tell us first what makes you sure we are not in league with Vargas ourselves?"
Hmm, let's see if the lad is too trusting, very cunning, or merely playing for time.
Zeoll Tuesday December 12th, 2006 7:07:58 AM
Zeoll holds his tongue at first, to see the response to Winterglade's excellent question. But after a moment, Zeoll has a question of his own. "What do you know of Varrgas? Has he been nearr? Tell us of the onbject of our quest -- whatever you know will help us very much."
Gecktar Tuesday December 12th, 2006 8:33:40 AM
Gecktar bows before the young shaman. "I'm pleased to see a thinking Taur able to decipher the true words of Domi."
"It's been a long time since I've seen a shaman or a priest having true faith in Domi."
"I'm sure you're having hard time here to spread the words of Domi and I congratulate you for your stubbornness and you courage."
"That said I let you give an answer to the question that my fellows asked."
Brahmah Tuesday December 12th, 2006 12:02:20 PM
"You are welcome Rory, to join our quest." He glances at the matriarch, then back. "We'll talk some more Rory, about you traveling with us... but for the time being..." He returns to his conversation with Hissta, still remaining seated, undonted by her verbous words.
"Aw, yes, Vargas. Finally a Greater threat than the lesser species, wouldn't you say?! Vargas needs to be stopped." He looks Hissta in the eye. "We are actually in pursuit of that Filth." He clangs his buckler; symbol of Domi crushing Marteaus.
Flat-top Tuesday December 12th, 2006 5:56:10 PM
Flat-top smiles at the young Shawman, "You Know, I like you as soon as I set my eyes on you. There's something about you that has the touch of Tomi! I can almost see it in your eyes."
Flat-top tell Jack, "I like this young Shawman! His eyes remind me of the time that Domi called me to his services."

Jack Gives the Shawman a look up and down
Then says to Flat Top "Hmm... sure, but is it truth or an act my friend truth or an act?"
With that Jack Looks at the Shawman again and says "Welcome, and thank you for your help I am very greatful"
Then Jack Walks over to the leader and Stands behind him with a hand on his Great Axe
DM Donna Wednesday December 13th, 2006 12:58:09 AM DM OOC to Bramah: Hissta left the building already; Bramah can't make his point to her as she is no longer there.
Rory smiles at Winterglade's question.
"Friend Winterglade, the evil minotaur's behavior towards people who have something he wants is as infamous as Vargas himself: if you had been in league with Vargas, you would not have attempted to placate my chief and her guard, but beaten them into submission...or, at least, Vargas would have 'proven' the superiority of Marteaus over Tomi by casting some sickness magic over our tribe." The young shaman returns Gecktar's bow.
"Tomi's word is easy to spread," he says with a sigh, "But not so easy to make grow in the hearts of those who refuse to truly embrace his word. Still, there is hope...many of the young are teachable."
Rory actually blushes at Flat-top's approval, and then frowns thoughtfully at Jack's caution.
"You say that you seek the Black Sword of the Veiled Queen...the legends about her are old and hard to recall. Have you any specific clues about where to start your search..?"
DM OOC #2: I will remind the players once again--if you haven't sent me the very latest CS of your character with the new cloak and/or any other items that Gecktar & company have constructed for various members of the party, those items will NOT be available to your PC until I actually get the updated sheet.

Brahmah Wednesday December 13th, 2006 12:13:55 PM
The ranger shrugs off the old kitty and stands. "Well, I believe we have overstayed our welcome Chosen." The minotaur looks at Rory. "We have been betrayed recently by those we thought would be friends." His face is grim. "Don't take this the wrong way friend, but step out of line and I will put you down." Then with a smirk, either sinester or impish, its hard to tell, Brahmah says, "Chosen, lets move out. We will do our planning on the road, away from prying ears. No maps out yet. Say nothing while we remain here." He steps out of the tent first, bear in tow.
(I will have a PC sheet and some additional stuff to you ASAP dear DM. Also, how long might it take to train the bear to use battle armor? :))

Exit - DM Donna Thursday December 14th, 2006 12:50:32 AM
Rory's eyes widen but he then bows his head to acknowledge Brahmah's orders.
"I will do whatever it takes to prove that I am a faithful servant of Tomi," he assures the group, "And I will offer advice and assistance to make sure you are successful in your appointed quest." The shaman follows the group out of the building.
"If you would accept my hospitality, Chosen Ones, I would offer my own hut for your use." Rory says humbly.

Winterglade Thursday December 14th, 2006 5:49:44 AM
"Captain, you are letting your emotions cloud your judgement. Unless we learn more about our goal here there is nothing to base our planning on."
"Winterglade for one would like to talk to the shaman and shall accept his invitation. If you insist he will give his word not to disclose anything that hasn't been said before. He can later catch up with you on the way."
Flat-top Thursday December 14th, 2006 7:01:22 AM
Flat-top let the rest of the Chosen leave, He stand at the entrance, he'll speak to Rory "Come Follow Me! I'll watch for your safty." Flat-top walk out the entrance, hoping that the Sharman is behind him.
Brahmah Thursday December 14th, 2006 7:39:20 AM
Brahmah smiles at all the youth around him saying he is being emotional and the like, then the ragner turns to Flat-top. "I'll have to tell them about me having to kill the High Priest of Domi Raakis for his involvement with Marteaus and for his dishonorable acts that day! Calling for a Kayleb was the only way, and even then he cheated to the end." He laughs. "Marteaus clergy or anyone who associates with The Master of Filth should be put down."
Zeoll Thursday December 14th, 2006 10:35:49 AM
Zeoll thanks the young shaman. "You arre a new but trrue frriend," he says simply.
But Zeoll is eager to be on the way. He would rather not spend the night unless it is already late in the day.
Gecktar Thursday December 14th, 2006 2:40:54 PM
Gecktar understand the reaction of Brahmah. During all these years of close vinicity he has learned much about each Chosen. He knows that Brahmah has had his content of betrayal. Gecktar just thinks about the lack of diplomacy of his Captain. But he is a warrior not a diplomat, and he is harsh as his life has been.
"Your offer is kind and I think we could accept it" he says to the shaman while turning to Brahmah to get his approval.
Toros Thursday December 14th, 2006 8:46:50 PM
After all these times away from home, there is need of time for adjustment. In the meantime Toros assumes the role of a bystander, however grateful to be together with his friends at home.
OOC: Sorry that it takes a bit more to return to normal life, even if the busiest times are over there have been lots of left untouched to catch up with.
Also, the information of Toros in the player roster is correct, and I will send the updated CS ASAP.

Accepting an Invitation - DM Donna Saturday December 16th, 2006 12:17:43 AM
"If you wish me to follow you, then I shall." Rory agrees, bowing to Brahmah and clearly allowing the minotaur to lead the way to...wherever it is that Bramah has in mind.
Everyone in the village hears Flat-top's invitation and many of the young wemics clamor for it--but most of them are countermanded (or even forcibly restrained) from coming up to the centaur.
But not all of them. Two precocious youngsters bound up to the large centaur, each of them declaring "ME! ME!!!" in the wemic tongue. Clearly they are brother and sister--likely even twins--as they look a lot like each other. They introduce themselves as Mika and Moki...and they're small enough to both ride on Flat-top should the fighter wish it.
Flat-top Saturday December 16th, 2006 5:44:20 AM
"Alright! Two Brave soles!" Flat-top tells the little kitten, "I'll take both of you on my Back. Now Ladies first, the The big Lointaur will hold on to his Sister. There! Away we go!"
Flat-top give the kittens a ride, but only as far as their Mother will let them.
Zeoll d20+20=33 Saturday December 16th, 2006 5:58:15 AM
Zeoll feels the urgency of the quest, and one part of him wants to head off right away. But the sight of Flat-top with the cubs melts his resolve, and as he smiles, he murmurs in his native tongue, "Well, a little delay won't hurt. Surely Tomi himself would stop to play with these little ones."
The liontaur asks for Tomi's blessing [casts Guidance]. Zeoll then takes out his drum and plays while Flat-top gives kids a ride. He hopes to make the unfriendly adults in earshot remember feast days and celebrations, when everyone is as eager as these cubs to play and have fun. The bard's hands strike the drumskin in a lively rhythym as he sings.

Winterglade Saturday December 16th, 2006 6:58:06 AM
Winterglade rises his eyes to high heavens.
Then he finds Brahmah and quietly says: "Captain, if we show disrespect to the shaman by forcing him to run behind us like a stray dog we will undercut his authority and Hissta's opinion might prevail next time there is an argument. And the next time there is an argument might be when we are coming back with the sword."
Then the centaur returns to shaman. "Seems that others have created a diversion. Let us use this as an opportunity to retreat to a more private place."
Once those who wish to counsel with Rory are in his cottage, Winterglade will politely ask a few questions. What interests him most is the lay of the land around this part of the island. Are there any specific landmarks? Something that could be seen by someone standing on the shore even though it was a few days of travel away? Does the shaman know any odd bits of knowledge related to the sword and its ancient wielder? Would he have any idea as to who would know more? Do the local tales tell where the resting place of the blade might be? Has anybody been recently asking around about it? Does Rory think that the emergence of this artifact might stir any weimics to trying to claim it for their own? Do legends tell anything about how one would go about destroying it?
Winterglade then asks if Rory would submit to a test of Detect Evil. "This is a rude request, Winterglade knows, but given the circumstances we can't afford to take chances."
Should the shaman agree and check as non-evil, and should Brahmah allow it, Winterglade will show him the copy of the map and recite the verse that was on the original, hoping that it might give Rory an idea of where the sword might be hidden.

Jack Looks at his Pack leader Brahmah when Flat Top and Zeoll Start their Playing around and Says to him
"It seems to me Captain that when I came to the Keep not to long ago and told you that what I was looking for "THE EVIL SWORD" was to be found, and that It was very important that we find it, that you did not take me seriously, I am not trying to be rude, but what they are doing is something that we should do at another time not this time, We NEED to go, or Captain we might be to late and this will be Flat tops Last time as a riding toy............

Trotting back to Jack "Please never crush the faith these Little ones have in us, or they'll turn out to be a leader like the one we just left behind!"

What to do? - DM Donna Sunday December 17th, 2006 10:24:28 PM
Rory bows his head at Winterglade's questions.
"Well do I know that evil may disguise itself in a very clever fashion." the young cleric says. "It can be as hard to discern as ignorance can be easy to spot...however, since I know this is important to not just yourselves, but--ultimately--Fffiffft and even the Wold itself...I willingly submit myself to whatever test that you may wish to conduct."
He then turns to Brahmah.
"You must be on your way as soon as you can--but I must also urge you to be wise enough to be sure of your ultimate destination. So far, it seems to me that you have arrived here with only the vaguest idea that this is where you must be. Have you any specific clues as to where you must go from here? If you do, I offer my services to help you prepare for the next part of your journey."
Meanwhile, Flat-top finishes his business with the twins. Their mother, though watchful of her children, doesn't seem to share the attitude of the majority when it comes to the Chosen.
"My mate fetched me forth from the east." she tells Flat-top. "I am not so hidebound by old prejudices as some I may name." She looks pointedly at her little ones. "Well..? What do you say when someone is kind to you..?"
"Sank you! Sank you!" the youngsters say in a semi-lisp, bouncing up and down. Then Moki smacks one of his sister's haunches.
"You're IT!" he hollers exuberantly and then bounds away with a grin.
"Am NOT!" Mika cries and then chases after him, shrieking with laughter.
Winterglade Monday December 18th, 2006 4:18:51 AM
"Yes, but let's not discuss that here, in the open, where we can be easily seen and spied upon. Winterglade believes we should accept your invitation, he already said it twice, but alas, the decision is not in his hands."
The centaur folds his arms on his chest. "Winterglade is quite done with speaking. Might we move on? There seem to be two options right now: go talk with Rory the shaman or leave the village. Winterglade will go talk to the shaman. Who will come with him?"
Flat-top Monday December 18th, 2006 5:37:56 AM
Flat-top waves to the twins, he tell the mother "You have nothing to worry about with those two kittens, They have a courious mind! that will help then in the futur! Now I must be off! Good day My Lady!"
Flat-top returns to the chosen trots up to the Chosen, "I heard every word! Well almost every word, A fighter must develope a sharp hearing."
Flat-top will go with the young Sharman.

Stayin' at the Shaman's - DM Donna Thursday December 21st, 2006 12:59:31 AM
The prevailing sensibility is for the Taurs to accompany young Rory, Shaman to the village of Fffiffft, to his abode, and so the group follows the cleric of Domi to a humble but sturdy hut that sits on the eastern edge of the settlement. From the hut floats the sweet notes of some wind instrument.
"Sashia! We have guests!" Rory calls out as you all approach and then enter the hut. The space within holds everyone comfortably. A female wemic with a long flute made from a thick, bamboo-like stalk looks at you all with curious green eyes.
"Leptine will likely complain about having to 'feed the masses' on short notice again," she says to Rory, however she smiles as she nods to all the Chosen, "But I caught several mangan today, so there's enough meat to feed everyone, even that..." Her voice trails off and her eyes widen as her gaze falls on Heyoo.
"Bear???" she says in a slightly squeaky voice. "Is that a real bear?"
(The bear, by the way, has accepted Flat-top's "pat-pat" with very good grace. No doubt he recalls all the berries and sweets that Flat-top was kind enough to give him when Heyoo first hooked up with Brahmah.)
DM OOC: a mangan is a large "sports" fish--akin to swordfish.
Winterglade Thursday December 21st, 2006 4:13:20 AM
When the meal is brought Winterglade stands up, offers thanks to the Brawler for the plentiful food that is about to be consumed and for the generosity of their host, and then does a Detect Poison.
"Sorry." - he looks apologetically at the host. "Bad experiences from the past made it a permament part of our dining etiquette when eating out, Winterglade is afraid."
Then he repeats the questions that he has been thinking about on the way to the hut.
- Are there any prominent landmarks in this part of the island? Something that could be seen by someone standing on the shore even though it was a few days of travel away? - Does the shaman know any odd bits of knowledge related to the sword and its ancient wielder? - Would he have any idea as to who would know more? - Do the local tales tell where the resting place of the blade might be? - Has anybody been recently asking around about it? - Does Rory think that the emergence of this artifact might stir any weimics to trying to claim it for their own? - Do legends tell anything about how one would go about destroying it?
"Others have questions of their own, Winterglade is sure."
His hand rests on the pocket holding the copy of the map, and his eyebrow is raised in question as he looks at the rest of the group.
Flat-top Thursday December 21st, 2006 4:53:06 AM
Flat-top look at the fish, then hold IT out to Winterglade to see if IT's poison, "I'm soory to do this also! Bot One large belly ache, teaches you a BIG lesson."
Now if the fish is not poisoned, then He'll give Brahmah part of the fish with his bear. (Just to keep the bear happy!!)
Brahmah Thursday December 21st, 2006 8:12:05 AM
Brahmah watches as Glade detects for poison and if safe Brahmah will indulge. However, if there is question, Brahmah will simply dive into the large store of bear food. "I have a quetion. How can such a powerful artifact have stayed secret so long but suddenly come to light when evil finally seeks it? Odd thing I think. Its almost like we are being diverted from the real problem. Almost like a decoy of sorts."
Jack Stronghooves Thursday December 21st, 2006 6:01:05 PM
Jack eats thanks ans is silent
The jack says to Brahmah "Yes Brahmah I agree I was about to say Why shouldnt we just catch the bad guys then the sword?"
Zeoll Thursday December 21st, 2006 8:19:23 PM
The liontaur flinches when he hears others of the Chosen question the very essence of the quest. He speaks to the Chosen very softly.
"As forr me," he says, "the god Garrgul himself enjoined me to seek this sworrd, so I am bound by my oath, no matterr what."
"But even morre, we arre in a rrace to get to the Sworrd beforre the enemy. Arre we strrong enough to take Varrgas if we found him? I do not know. But I know that if he gets the sworrd beforre us, ourr quest becomes nigh impossible."
Then, speaking more openly, Zeoll thanks the hosts. "You arre most kind to sharre yourr home and meal with us. We will trry to do honorr to yourr hospitality."
Zeoll looks at his fellow Chosen when he says that, and you don't need to see his Bluff check to know that he is warning his friends to be on best behaviour.
Discussions - DM Donna Friday December 22nd, 2006 12:18:11 AM DM OOC: Please note that my previous post only had Sashia teasing Rory for bringing unannounced guests home without telling "Leptine" (probably the one who's cooking)--there is no meal out yet. Only one very surprised female wemic who's asking if Heyoo is a "real bear?")
Rory turns and addresses each of Winterglade's as best he can:
- Are there any prominent landmarks in this part of the island? Something that could be seen by someone standing on the shore even though it was a few days of travel away? "The only landmarks that I know of are the mountains...the Farplume Mountain range."
- Does the shaman know any odd bits of knowledge related to the sword and its ancient wielder? "No, I don't."
- Would he have any idea as to who would know more? "There is a clan of wemics who live between the village and the mountains...they are the Sunsetters, and they claim to be descended from the last known possessor of the Black Sword, the Veiled Queen. Most likely they may have something to help you in your search."
- Do the local tales tell where the resting place of the blade might be? "Again, I don't know of any other stories other than the teaching rhyme... As the Daystar sleeps As the Farplume weeps Amidst the peaks of same The Nightblade lies As the lover cries Forevermore her name."
- Has anybody been recently asking around about it? "No...but if your fears about Vargas are true, the village will be on its guard about him arriving here."
- Does Rory think that the emergence of this artifact might stir any weimics to trying to claim it for their own? "Well...it may be possible that the Sunsetter clan may wish to claim the Sword by right of lineage should you actually recover it...but you would have to ask them about that. Nobody else has ever thought the Sword to be anything but a relic of ancient times that must surely be nothing but a pile of rust by now."
- Do legends tell anything about how one would go about destroying it? "The Sword has always been assumed to have disappeared, along with the Veiled Queen herself. I have never heard of any specific way to destroy the Sword."
As Rory answers the questions, Sashia draws carefully closer to Heyoo, staring intently at the animal.
Winterglade Friday December 22nd, 2006 3:49:21 AM
"Hmm, that's a start. The Sunsetters, you say? Do they take kindly to guests?"
"Farplume? Would that be a volcano of some sort? Winterglade thinks that we are finally getting somewhere. How would one go about travelling to their settlement?"
Might be worth our while to take a look at the landscape from the cliffs of the shore first. Maybe we'll see that glittering landmark that the map mentions.
Flat-top Friday December 22nd, 2006 4:24:29 AM
Flat-top Smiles Back at Shashia's flank "Hmmm! she's pretty! I wonder if she can dance??"
Then his mind turn back to the poem. "I agree with Winterglade, Farplum is a Volcano, As Farplum Weeps mudst be the lava flowing. SO do you think that throwing the Black Sword into the Lava would melt away??"
Zeoll d20+10=17 d20+10=25 Friday December 22nd, 2006 10:28:34 AM
"Excellent questions, Glade! Good thinking, Flat-top!" Zeoll is happy to be in the company of his clever friends.
"I'm glad you had that idea, Flat-top! I figurred we would have to get an admantine hammerr and bang on it!"
Zeoll reassures Sashia that the bear is friendly. He introduces himself to Heyoo, if Brahmah does not mind, and if that goes well, introduces the ursine to their wemic hostess.
Wild Empathy Checks: 17 and 25.

More Answers - DM Donna Saturday December 23rd, 2006 2:06:36 PM
"The Sunsetter clan are about typical for the Fffiffft area," Rory says, "The elder ones are especially proud of wemic culture, but those who aren't as aged have more open minds."
"And the Farplume Mountains are named after a river that runs through them," Sashia chimes in, "At one point, the river goes from near the top of one peak to the bottom of a chasm--there, it is called Farplume Falls. It's quite spectacular, but extremely hard to reach, as the falls are in the heart of the range."
"Not to mention the old stories of the lost souls from the Veiled Queen's guard." Rory adds. "Tales about how 'the guard is gonna getcha!' if you venture into the mountains abound."
Zeoll introduces Heyoo to Sashia, and the female wemic tentatively scratches the bear behind his ears. Heyoo accepts the petting, his nose working a bit--it's clear that he can scent cooking fish SOMEwhere nearby.
"At this time, the official matriarch of the Sunsetters is Purrrta, but she's extremely old. Her daughter Meowri would be the person to talk to about any information about the Veiled Queen or the possible location of the Black Sword. She is a devoted follower of Tomi...but I don't know of her personal feelings towards non-wemics."
DM OOC: we are entering the last week of the year, and the holidays that are usually associated with it doubtless will mean either more time than usual to post, or a lot less time (heh heh). I will check the board every day and post when there are posts from the majority of the group. Hopefully that will, indeed, be the usual daily schedule, but no worries if the pace slows down a bit--it is the holiday season, after all. Happy Holidays, everyone!
Zeoll d20+10=20 Saturday December 23rd, 2006 11:49:39 PM
The liontaur grins. "Rory [as a wemic name, it does not need extra Rs!], you have been so helpful! Surely Tomi blessed us when he sent you ourr way."
But Zeoll wants to be sure. After all the Mad Doctor just taught the Chosen not to be too trusting. So Zeoll concentrates on Rory as they speak. He uses his Sense Motive skill to make sure that Rory really does want to help, that he is not under some influence, and that he is as good as he seems.
Sense Motive Check 20.
Winterglade Sunday December 24th, 2006 4:27:55 AM
"Yes, you were very patient with us. May the Brawler always stride alongside you."
"Winterglade will excuse himself for an hour now, yes? He hasn't had the opportunity to pound the ground with his hooves for more than a week! So, if our hosts allow?..."
Unless there is objection from the members of the tribe, Winterglade goes for a run alongside the coast. While there he takes an opportunity to examine the horizon for any landmarks that might fit the phrase from the map. ["Glittering" was it, I believe? Standard selection of spells.]

Gecktar Wednesday December 27th, 2006 3:10:20 AM "Maybe we should go as soon as possible to the Sunsetters tribe. Just wait for the meal they are preparing for us then, proceed to move as soon as possible."
Gecktar turns to Rory, "You definately give us a great help. How much time will it take to reach the Sunsetters tribe ?"
(OOC : back from real-life events (job is taking much of my time) but ready to go on holydays. Don't know if I will be able to post regulary...)
DM OOC: no worries about posting regularly...post when you can. This particular edict is in effect until January 2nd, 2007.
Flat-top Wednesday December 27th, 2006 4:46:05 AM
"Yes Your Right, Gecktar! The sooner the better!" Replies Flat-top.
Making Plans - DM Donna Thursday December 28th, 2006 9:31:13 PM
"I am a cleric of Tomi," Rory replies to Zeoll, "As such, the Brawler granted me visions of your arrival along with the distinct impression that I must aid you...I follow his wishes and my instincts about your true motives."
Meanwhile, Flat-top's introduction of honey-flavored treats to Heyoo makes the bear very much more amenable to having his head scratched by the pretty Sashia.
DM OOC: Winterglade posted: Winterglade goes for a run alongside the coast. While there he takes an opportunity to examine the horizon for any landmarks that might fit the phrase from the map. ["Glittering" was it, I believe? Standard selection of spells.]
As I wasn't the DM who originally gave you the map description, I'd appreciate an explanation as to what the group actually seems to have found on the map in question..?
Rory turns to Brahmah:
"Again, Commander Brahmah, please accept my apologies for my chief's behavior...she has archaic views and clings tenaciously to them. My father tried to counsel her to be a bit more open about our Tauric kin from other islands, but Hissta can be headstrong. I can assure you that not everyone of Fffiffft reflects her views."
The young shaman sees that Sashia is still intrigued with Heyoo and smiles indulgently.
"We will have the midday meal here, if you would be so kind," Rory says, "Then travel to the Sunsetters' clan site. It is a trek of perhaps a bit more than an hour. If you'll excuse me, though, I must inform Leptine that there will be more than just two people to feed..." The male wemic moves to the back of the hut and pushes aside a large hide that hangs on the wall, revealing a doorway to the rear yard. Everyone can hear him speak to someone about the revised number of guests for supper.
Rory returns, chuckling and bringing with him the clinging scent of herbed, roasted fish.
"Leptine has smartly informed me that, since I have a habit of inviting 'just about everyone' to lunch, she has already made enough fish for us!" he informs the party. "She will be serving as soon as your friend, Winterglade, returns from his run."
Winterglade Friday December 29th, 2006 3:15:12 AM
Winterglade, unaware that his absence is delaying the supper, is having a rare moment of pure joy and delight. It is something you can't really understand unless you are a steppe centaur that has been trapped in a cargo hold of a ship for over a week. He is running as fast as his legs can carry him, leaving behind a lingering trail of dust. As he runs his eyes turn every now and then to the horizon and the mysterious phrase that has been inscribed all around the old map comes back to his head:
"...strides to the edge of the sea-cliff. At dusk birds tell the story in darkening boughs...ridden for days to find the rock...flashes in sunset...red waves recall the blaze of that great forge where old gods are smelted down and new ones raised...he can wield the sword until the end...slash the sky in fury, scorch in afternoon..."
[Winterglade comes back to Rory's place in about an hour.]
Running Revelations - DM Donna Friday December 29th, 2006 6:48:39 PM
Winterglade--his head cleared from the refreshing run--ponders the map inscription, concluding that that the phrasing must refer to where/when the sword was actually created, as opposed to where the sword was located in the present day.
Gecktar Saturday December 30th, 2006 1:58:29 AM "Mmm, one hour trek, you said. Much less than I first imagined. Fine ! Waiting for Glade leaves some time. Do you have a sanctified altar near this place. I would like to take some time to tank Domi for the help he gave us."
He turns to the other and add
"Don't worry. I will come back before Glade so the meal will not be delayed once more."
Winterglade Saturday December 30th, 2006 3:41:33 AM
After about an hour Winterglade is back, his sides steaming from the effort of the run.
"Whaaa, that was nice. What did Winterglade miss?"
Zeoll Saturday December 30th, 2006 8:04:49 AM
Zeoll's spirit is lifted by the news that Rory has seen visions sent by Domi. "Praise Tomi!" he exclaims. "Herre we have prroof -- not that prroof was needed, but prroof nonetheless -- that Grreat Tomi continues to look out forr us, prrotecting us and giving us courrage."
He uses the time before the meal to clean up, to pray, and to offer his help in the preparations.
Brahmah Saturday December 30th, 2006 10:48:29 AM
Brahmah smiles at Rory. "Understood."
Flat-top Monday January 1st, 2007 8:35:10 AM
As Flat-top pats Heyou head, now that he is getting usto the Bear. "I wonder if you would hurt me if we wrestle??".
Flat-top looks up to his Captain, "You know we could have fun playing with him if he was not so young??"
Brahmah Monday January 1st, 2007 11:55:31 AM
"Um, yeah, I just found him. I don't think wrestling is a good idea."
Catching Up - DM Donna Monday January 1st, 2007 8:09:51 PM
Rory is happy to show Gektar to the large hut next door--it is clearly dedicated to the worship of Domi, with a simple but lovingly-tended altar and plenty of room for a large congregation of four-footed worshippers to gather.
Heyoo is snuffling up the cookies (and whatever other treats he can beg off Flat-top) and is not interested in wrestling at all.
Just after Winterglade asks his question, the flap covering the rear doorway of the hut is pushed open.
"Good! You're all here!" an elder female wemic says, eyeing the full group. "Well, don't just STAND there--set up the serving table! I'll be right back with the food!" She leaves but returns with a pair of large platters piled high with delicious-smelling fish. Rory and Sashia hurriedly assemble a trestle table that's about large enough for everyone to gather around.
The roasted fish is joined by bowls of tubers, roots and bread. Rory asks Domi's blessings over the feast, and Sashia deftly begins passing out the oversized plates that the Chosen may park their food upon.
Heyoo (who was a little too big to sit AT the table) hovers hopefully behind and sort of between Brahmah and Flat-top, loudly snuffling the air (especially whenever the roast mangan is passed between diners.) However, the bear is otherwise circumspect about the others having their meal first.
