Xenia disguises herself as Stomp and tries to get the attention of the 1/2 orcs moving up the trail. She does manage to wave down the two in the back who see Xenia/Stomp and pull up on the reigns. They call out to the others moving on ahead and they too stop. One yells out in a language that Xenia doesn't understand a question. They seem to be waiting for an answer.

Wynn starts singing and Stomp starts to listen to him intently. Between the charm, the facsinate and Syr's rope, Stomp is easily tied to the tree. Stomp sits easily and is snoring as the group finishes the last knot.

Lang is concerned for Xenia and now that they have lost their guide, they must follow the tracks. Lang bends down and figures that the tracks are under an hour old.

Uh oh ...

The rogue makes a chopping motion with her hand. She puts a finger up to Stomp's lips for quiet, and points back down the trail. In a universal language, she then quietly draws her blade, a blade disguised to be bigger than the thin rapier that it actually is, and she stalks away from them with every expectation that they will follow.

While Stomp is being tied to a tree, Bin disarms him and takes off what armor he can without disturbing the half orc. "Nice work guys, let's go find Xenia before she needs our help. we at least know the direction they would travel now."

Angus is pleased to see how fast Stomp is subdued. "Nice job guys."

At Belkior's question "Of couse we will have a mesage spell linking us, it worked too well when we fought the mummies."

Angus looks at Bin and Lang "I agree with Bin, Lang this is you show, let go find Xenia. You and Syr can progress at all speed and we will follow"

Angus will cast message spell on all the Shields in attendance.

Getting up from his knees he smiles kindly down at the snoozing half-orc. "Whatcha think Wynn? He is not that cute asleep either. Oh Bin, get his weapons too, I don't want him cutting free." Staying to followup on the priest, he nods in satisfaction when he does.

Dusting his hands he looks up at Angus, "Sure thing Boss." He turns with a light jog to catch up with Lang. "Hey Big guy, anything new to report?"

Lang calls Sunshine to his side and the two of them start tracking the half-orcs and Xenia.

Looking up to Syr, even as he asks about Stomp's weapons, hands them to him. "He may have some hidden that I can't get to right now, but at least we have his magical sword."

The half-elf watches as his companions tie Stomp to the tree. "Nothing pretty about that one at all" he agrees with Syr before setting foot after Lang and Sunshine.

"We'd better hurry and find Xenia before she gets herself into trouble" he urges the others.

Stomp is effectively disarmed. His magic sword is taken away and 2 daggers, one in each boot are removed as well. His armor is loosened and will fit him awkwardly if he tries to fight but can not be effectively removed without possibly waking him and loosing his bonds.

Lang starts to move forward once again tracking the 1/2 orcs. The tracking isn't difficult but Lang starts to notice more tracks than should be here. Either the number has increased or some of the tracks are older and this area is a high traffic area.

Xenia/Stomp signals for the others to follow her and she stalks away without answering any of their questions. When she glances behind her, she notices 5 1/2 orcs dismounting and following her with weapons drawn and the other 6 under a different commander staying behind, holding the horses and stringing bows.

The 5 who are following look familiar to the ones under Stomp's command and they are hurrying to catch up to Xenia. Xenia can only hope that her companions know how to track and aren't taking their time.

Stomp flashes a grin and raises his sword. He quickens his pace, moving low and quiet. The half-orc looks eager for blood. Or something.

The halfling cleric is fluctuating between relief and worry. Disarming and binding Stomp went much better than expected. But now they're trying to find Xenia without getting into too much trouble.

Belkior falls in beside Angus as most of the party follows Lang. If the ranger points out the extra tracks, Belkior's worry will increase.

"What has that rogue got herself into?"

Angus smiles down at his halfling friend "Knowing Xenia, Trouble, but for who is the question."

Angus goes to test his message spell "All ears hear me? Give a whisper back so we know."

Angus will wait for the sound off and then add "Lets have the stealthy once track in front, Lang, Syr and Wynn and Bin, Belkior and I will follow 60 feet back. We will attempt to keep out of the way."

To all Angus will add "I can move up the three of us in a heart beat if needed. Lets go find our girl, or should I say your girl Wynn. You are going to have to learn to keep tabs on her you know." Angus smiles to himself.

"Clear as a hermit thrush Angus", Wynn acknowledges the functioning message spell. In anticipation of trouble ahead, the bard eases the shortbow from his shoulder and gives the string a quick once over to make sure all is in order. He takes up a position some 60' back from the trackers and on the left flank.

"Be careful what you shoot at" he warns the others in a whisper.

Content to let the others give him direction, Bin does as he is told. He has never been one to not offer advice when it felt it was necessary, but at this time, all is going as well as possible. He smiles at the banter between them all and acknowledges the message spell that has affected him. {{Hail and well met.}} He replies with his mind to see if it is working.

The group leaves Stomp tied to a tree and continues on worried that Xenia might have bit on more than she can chew. The group can now communicate effectively with the message spell but remember that Angus can speak to everyone but everyone can only speak to Angus.

Xenia moves forward but hears the stomp and crash of many feet. She looks back to see the five half orcs running to catch up with her. They are peering around looking for the trouble that Stomp/Xenia has indicated.

The lead one gets closer and whispers another question in a language that Xenia doesn't understand.

Stomp turns with a quick glare at the stoopid half-orc. He once again puts his finger to his lips for silence, then he reaches to touch is ear, and he points back down the trail.

Suddenly, Stomp turns with a start! He peers intently into the foliage, then begins to run down the trail. (Bluff 19.)

The halfling cleric welcomes Angus' question as a chance to for relief from the tedium and strain of this pursuit. Belkior is more than willing to provide Angus with his opinion.

"Well, Alemi is the God of Healing of course. That's the first benefit of following Alemi - I am provided with more and greater ability to heal the hurts of my companions and others."

"Alemi is also a force for good in the Wold. And a protective power, too. That is the other thing granted, protection for myself so that I might better heal and cure others."

Belkior is sliding back into his old ways when he worked in the Temple hospital and sometimes instructed acolytes. "Alemi was once first among the Gods of the Wold, although he could never have reached that status without his servant, friend and companion Domi that Bin here follows."

"It's not so much a case of better, as different."

Bin walks with Belkior and Angus, allowing Belkior first say in the subject. If it were not for Alemi, Domi might not be. "My roll is to insure the healer's of Alemi are protected so that they can do that which they do so well, as well as protect those that can not defend themselves, much like this farm we came to assist. In my humble opinion a cleric of Domi and a Protector of Domi have very different rolls but the same faith. A protector takes less stock in the conversion of others through words, but rather through good deeds.

Xenia looks behind her as she makes her move and is sad to see that none of the half orcs seem to be following her. She hears the whinny of a horse as the other group seems to be moving away and the other 5 seem to be scanning the area with concern and dubious looks on their faces. One with a very hard look at Stomp poses another sharp question in orish which Xenia doesn't understand.

The rest keep moving forward following the trail and Lang holds up his hand stopping the group when he hears a distance voice shout out.

Stomp turns sharply at the challenge to his authority. Then just as suddenly, he sheathes his sword. A soft blur comes over his form and he becomes a beautiful fair-skinned woodland nymph.

Or at least what Xenia imagines a beautiful woodland nymph would look like. Beautiful woodland nymph clothes gotta be pretty swank, and the rogue wraps her woodland nymph disguise in silky gossamer stuff. Unless they -and you gotta consider this- unless they go around all kinds of naked or something! Wouldn't that be a sight? 'Specially when you figure in the bosoms Xenia's put on this disguise.

Xenia's woodland nymph laughs a silky gossamer sorta laugh, raising a delicate hand to her mouth. Then she draws a bow and shoots the lead guy in the kneecap. (Hit AC27, Damage 4hp)

Angus sees all the trackers get excited and take off at a brisk pace. "Well I am not running." The sorcerer mumbles.

Angus spies a spot 300 feet in front of Lang and Syr. Angus pats Belkior and Bin on the back and says "Relax and enjoy the ride." Angus dimension doors to the spot farther down the road.

Angus, big grin on his face, waves the trackers forward and takes a look around himself.

Spot 9, Angus is too full of himself to see much of anything.

Hopefully the Clerics are more observant.

Angus looks at Belkior and Bin "I have been waiting to do that."

The halfling cleric staggers with vertigo after the short teleportation spell cast by Angus. Belkior has looked better and he seems a little disoriented.

"Oooh ... it's gonna take a bit before my stomach settles," the Paragon intones while clutching at his belly and breathing deeply.

Despite his discomfort, Belkior's eyes are scanning the nearby area for threats because unexpected teleportation is just the sort of thing that lands a person into deep trouble.

The ranger's raised hand puts Bin on the alert. So when Angus gives a brief warning, the Cleric of Domi is ready. He unlimbers his mace, with just a hint of what the Sorcerer might have in mind.

He comes away from the dislocation alert and aware. Directing his glance down the trail, he reports to those behind them through the Message spell. (Spot 23)

We are now in combat rounds. Please post accordingly

Xenia after changing her disguise once again, turns and fires scoring a nasty hit to the on coming 1/2 orc. He drops his blade and grabs his leg and starts trying to move away though he seems hampered by his wound. His companion behind him takes one look at the situation, "Yells something in orchish Highlight to display spoiler: { Killer Wood Fairy! } and turns and runs leaving his wounded friend behind.

The rest of the group is about 100 yards away and moving towards the sound of noise and battle as quickly as they can. Several hundred yards ahead they notice that a string of horses is working its way away from the group, heading away from the road and deeper into the forest. They count 12 horses but many of them don't seem to have riders. They quickly pass from sight as they seem to be running hard.

Haha ha! It worked! They're runnin'!

The laugh is silvery as Xenia can make it. (Disguise 28 to act in character.)

"The fowest bewongs to us! If you wish to opawate on oua tuhf, then you muss bow to ... oh fram, whazzis name again? ... the Might of the Faiwy King!"

The rogue sends another arrow after them for good measure, (Hit AC27, Damage 4hp) before stepping behind a tree and hiding herself away. (Hide 32)

Oh well. Fram and farggle. The dark rogue sighs. Time to find the guys. Maybe we can track 'em to their hideout from here. Shouldn't be too hard, what with them leading all them ponies. Maybe they still got that Stomp guy with 'em. Maybe they can convince him to lead 'em.

Whatever. Leastwise the orcies are all confoozled now. Superstitious and affrighted. hehehe.

When the forest in front of Angus get loud and he spies the horses fleeing and says to the Bin and Belkior and the rest of the gang on the message line "The jig is up. We were found out or Xenia was. Let move in to help her, and quick."

Angus takes a double move foreward.

Angus looks back and comments on the message line with a smile in his voice "Man the trackers are slow. Hurry up guys."

The halfling cleric keeps pace with Angus. It's the rare moments like these that Belkior is almost thankful for what the Knot of Drusis did to him. And jumping, too.

As he moves ahead, Belkior looks around for threats but the movement is obviously distracting.

Bin gathers his bearing after being subject to the spell. Never having done that before he smiles to Angus. " I don't know if we can catch them all or not, but perhaps I can petition some help." Bin holds fourth his holy symbol as he begins a summons. "Might Domi, please allow us aid today to thwart the goals of those that abide by evil deeds and greed. Please present to us a Lantern Archon to serve our deeds of good, or that which you desire to send. I thank you for all our blessings."

Syr sees the others appear slightly ahead and blinks in surprise. Grumbling, "Showoff." The elf takes to sprinting, his small feet barely making contact with the ground as his form speeds to catch up. (base move 60'= Running 240')

Xenia shoots a second arrow at the half orc she shot once before in the knee and this one puts him down. The second 1/2 orc without a look back at his "friend" withdraws from the area as fast as his legs will carry him,

The others through magic and outright speed all catch up to each other and Xenia sees them huffing up the trail. She calls out to them and they all join up together midway up the hill where the horsed 1/2 orcs retreated.

Lang can tell that this path the Crimson Shields are on isn't a game trail. He sees enough foot and hoove prints to insure that this trail is used quite often most likely by the 1/2 orcs seen fleeing the scene.

What will the Shields do next? Will they pursue the 1/2 orcs to their lair? Will they go back and get Stomp who is tied sleeping to a tree?

Angus is relieved to see Xenia "Have fun on your little advenure. At least let me get you hooked into a message spell next time, so we can keep tabs on you. You had us a bit worried." Angus scans the area "Nice job though."

"Well it looks like our prey has a head start. I think it is time for most of us to follow the hunters." Angus goes up and pats Lang and Syr on the back. "Lead on good sirs."

"Wynn, do you and Xenia want to watch our flanks and rear as we travel. You two can be mobile while Bin, Belkior and I follow the trackers." Angus will wink and smile at Wynn at his task of keeping Xenia in sight.

Angus claps his hands together "Shall we. Oh and when the messsage spell expires, that is the signal to meet back up and get a new one. It should last an hour and a half, each spell."

Ook ... Didn't expect that.

The rogue peers around the tree to find one of the orcs in a face-plant sorta position on the trail.

He killed down kinda easy.

Then the rest of the guys show up. Lucky!

"Hey! Hey!" A Beautiful bow-wielding Woodland Nymph detaches herself from the shadow of a tree and waves. Her creamy curves barely hidden by wisps of silk, she looks oddly reminiscent of the chesty rogue from that disagreeable Children of Chaos group.

Then a look of surprise comes over the Nymphs face. "Oops. Forgot." The Nymph speaks a word and her form blurs to be replaced by Xenia.

"Thanks Angus," she replies when the group is all together again. "It was touch and go for a bit there. But, you know, these guys don't seem so tough. How'dja make out with that Stomp guy?" she asks. "Didja find out what kind of set up they got our here in the woods?"

She kneels by the fallen orcie. First check is for to see if he's all bled out. For not knowing much about healing and stuff, she does a pretty good job to maybe stop him dying. (Heal 21 to Stabilize.) Then the rogue goes quickly and methodically through is packs, pockets and pouches for clues and other good stuff. (Search 26.)

"You know, these guys don't look too Ready-For-The-Woods, if you know what I mean," she comments as she rifles thorough the Stuff. "Makes you wonder what they're up to and all. Maybe wouldn't be too bad an idea to Sneak on 'em and watch 'em for a bit. Maybe we can find out what kinda connections they have to Plateau City and all. A'Cause, you know, if they have connections to the Guild in Plateau City it won't matter if we take these guys out. Another group is just gonna replace them."

Lang is happy to catch up to Xenia and find her safe. Lang nods when Angus says to press on.

"Come on Syr, everyone else is having all the fun so far."

The halfling cleric is relieved that he has very little to do. Belkior will go over and check the bandages that Xenia applied to the fallen half-orc, finding tha the rogue did a good job of it.

"So, we keep going. I'll just stay back here near Angus and be ready to heal anyone."

When Xenia talks about the Guild in Plateau City, Belkior listens for a moment beore repsonding.

"How do you know that this group will simply be replaced? I mean, from how you tell it, the Guild wants to make money. Personally, I can't see them making much from the leftover bones from an ogre's stewpot. You weren't there when Stomp said that they mainly were stealing livestock and the like, and eating most of that. OOC Sorry Bin, I missed your original casting of the summon monster. If you want, you can recast it but not sure it will do you any good. Consider it back in your memorized spell list if you wish.

The group reforms to find Xenia switching back to her normal form. She kneels and starts to inspect the fallen orc and finds that she is able to stablize him. Belkior oversees her work and knows that he could easily nurse the 1/2 orc back to health.

Xenia start going through his pockets and besides normal items and weapons (broadsword, and a knife) she finds a pouch filled with some coin. 27 cps, 4 sp and 1 gps. Nothing else of note.

Lang pushes on and can easily follow the trail of the others. What does the party wish to do? Do they follow? Do they stay and question the fallen 1/2 orc? Need some direction to get things moving forward.

Angus looks at Xenia's catch "Another half orc. We are going to leave a trail of them on the way to the giant and ogre camp. I guess, just like bread crumbs."

As Lang and Syr head off, Angus will call out to them "We will secure our new prisoner and then catch up. See what you can see, but do not get too far ahead."

Angus will look to Belkior "Will he live? If so we can ask him a few questions before finding a suitable tree for our new friend. Wynn, do you have any more rope?"

Angus paces a bit and takes off his big leather traveling hat to scratch his head "Belkior or Bin can either of you cure him after he is tied. Is it against either of your higher powers to heal evil or its bedfellows? Can the end justify the means? He might feel like talking if in one piece. I could also turn on the charm if needed."

"You guys leave that Stomp Guy tied up somewhere too?" She looks back down the trail, like she could see where they left him. Right.

"So, this guy's not gonna bleed out," Xenia stands from the body of the one she arrowed down, pocketing his meager coin, "but I don't think he's gonna be getting up until at least tomorrow, you know. I say leave him."

She turns away from the body, joining her honey as he searches around for clues. Just kinda watching over his shoulder and pointing stuff out now and again. (Search 23)

'Course she mentions nothing about the fact of leaving the orcs all helpless as they're doing is probs gonna get them eaten up by badgers and bears and other wild animals. You gotta draw the line somewhere. Either that or you become orcie-sitters.

His evil deeds were sealed when they took captives to their flea ridden bed and raped them. Took their food, supplies and perhaps even their life. He will not tell us more then Stomp already has and now we must insure his safety as well. It is not a good act to leave something defenseless to be killed later by wild animals. Although the thought does appeal to me to let such happen."

He tells them what he has planned with the Lantern Archon and says, "If we are lucky it will slow them down or stop them where we can catch up."

The halfling cleric doesn't understand what the other cleric tells the archon, though he does recognize the outsider. When Bin explains his intent, Belkior nods in agreement.

"Don't bother tying this fellow up. At least no too tight. He won't be doing any fighting or other work for several days, unless someone comes along to heal him. In which case, tying him up wouldn't matter. Leave him to crawl away when he awakens."

When Angus suggests questioning the half-orc, Belkior shrugs. "Could do it. Alemi doesn't forbid me healing anyone. Though I doubt that he can tell you very much."

When everyone moves off, Belkior will keep pace with Angus.

Winded as he finally catches up to the group, Syr updates Xenia, "We left Stomp tied to a tree back there. What kind of trouble were you up to?" When Angus orders he and Lang out again, he nods and smiles, "No rest for the weary, eh? Well I guess we better hurry before this message spell ends and we lose that edge."

Over the message line, he asks Angus, "Why don't you add Red to your contacts, or did you earlier?"

Wynn ties up the half orc but doubts he did a great job with his belt. He will then search the camp but doesn't find much of anything besides trash, bones and offal. Doesn't seem like they were very good outdoorsmen and were definitely roughing it without tents.

Bin sends his little ball of light off but wonders how much good he can do in the time he has. Remember that this spell only lasts rounds and the other orcs have a decent head start.

The group starts out at a decent pace and starts tracking again. After moving for about 20 minutes, Lang can tell that the horses strides have shortened and the group ahead is now walking the horses. Still horses move at a faster pace than the group does. Lang also notices that a smaller group of half orcs is following the mounted group. Must be Xenia's followers.

The group follows for hours and munch trail rations on the march. Still the afternoon wears on and the sun is starting to dip in the sky. Will the group push on into the dark. Tough to track that way? Also need marching order and guard shifts if you intend to camp.

Lang puts his hand up and stops Syr from moving forward. He looks at the waning sun and then at Sunshine and Syr.

"Syr let's wait for the others to catch up. Not all of them can see in the dark like we can. Let's see what they want to do about tracking these guys."

Lang gets comfortable waiting for the rest of the Shields to catch up.

"It's getting dark. Should we proceed or set up camp for the night?"

Angus answers Syr before he trots off with Lang "I will have to add red when this spell ends."

Roughly every 90 minutes, Angus will call in the trackers and the scouts and recast the message spell. Angus will include Xenia in future spells.

When Angus and the rest catch up to the trackers in the fading light he guesses the reason. "Our little band is mostly not human, but we should rest since we do not know what we are stumbling into. Bin, Belkior and I will take first watch. Xenia and Wynn middle and Lang and Syr last. We can push on in the morning. By the way I only have one days rations left. I hope we have more or can hunt or make more, any suggestions on the food and water situation." Angus looks to the clerics and Lang for answers to the last question.

Angus asks Lang "Are the half orc far enough ahead for a fire? I will cast light spells on some rocks and sticks if you think it will be more prudent, but will not last as long as a fire."

Xenia raises her arms in a languorous, feline stretch. Camp. A day of hiding and tracking and marching, can wear a body down. Gotta rest if they're gonna be on top o' their game. 'Sides, this a chance to snuggle up with Wynn in that spiffy new soft bedroll she got at the Midwinter party!

"I got four days rations, Angus," Xenia replies. "But we could do some hunting and foraging and stuff! Yeah! Living off the wild." The girl rogue pokes at some funny looking cream colored fungus stuff growing from the side of a tree.

"Hey, Lang. This stuff here good to eat?" (Survival 8 for Forage. No help here.)

The rogue looks up through the branches of the trees, as the day wanes and the light from above dies away. Starlight star bright. First star I see tonight.

"You think we'll be seeing any stars out here in the forest, Wynn," she asks in a far away romanticizing sort of voice.

Later on, she takes the watch with him. The dark night watches are best, as their eyes see furthest by the faintest light of the stars. Xenia takes a fixed post and hides, watching Wynn's back as he patrols. (Spot 22, Listen 27, Hide 44)

The halfling cleric is in agreement with Angus' suggestion that they camp for the night. He trusts that Lang should be able to keep tracking the bandits and resting would be good for everyone. Plus, Belkior has a personal issue since walking at night makes it more likely that he will get burrs or other things caught in his leg fur. Experience has taught him that getting those things out isn't a pleasant task.

"If you need food, Bin or I could prepare the spells needed to conjure some. Not very tasty, but filling. And, if I cast it, you can be assured that no animals were injured in it's production."

Belkior looks for a good campsite, not that he'd really know what such a thing is. But he needs to be dry and sheltered from the wind. Defensible would be good, too, since the bandits might come back. He's marching in the centre of the group, close to Angus and Bin.

"I pray to Alemi at dawn. I'll be awake then, but will be busy. If you want me to on watch then, someone else will have to be with me."

Bin seems very upset at the setting of the sun and looks disturbed at the thought of resting. His tired, aching body wanting to push on to find the defilers of the innocent. "They will just be further ahead in the morning if we stop now and that will insure we do not catch them before they get back to their reinforcements. Not only that but Stomp is likely behind us as well and may slow us down further if he gets ahead and sets obsticles. We had them in our sights earlier how much ground could they possibly have on us and how long will it take to catch up? That is if we assume they are asleep, after the encounter with our nymphed out Xenia, they may have enough courage to travel on until dead or there."

The bard can't help but notice the change in timbre of Xenia's voice. "It'd be a pretty dark forest to keep out the stars on a night like this" he looks to the sky as he speaks. "Camp it is then." he agrees with the others.

Wynn selects a thick clump of moss to lay out Xenia's bedroll. "I've spent more than a few nights camped out in the Culverwood, and always woken refreshed after bedding down on this stuff" he pats the dry moss with his hand.

When Belkior offers assistance in providing food, the half-elf politely declines. "No offence Belkior, but rabbit stew or a nice piece of fish or venison suits me better. I don't mind living off the land or that a creature of the forest gives it's life to feed mine. When I go, the bugs and worms probably won't spend much time worrying where their meal is coming from."

Wynn opens his napsack and removes some dried fish, strips of venison, and wild cucumber root to which he adds some berries and mushrooms from a seperate compartment. "These are good either as they are, or mixed in a stew." He offers the food to any who wish to indulge.

When it is his watch, he gently nudges Xenia, slips out from beneath her bedroll, and pulls on the rest of his clothes and armor before changing watch with Angus. In the pale light of the stars, he locates a vantage point from which to oversee the encampment and lets the stillness of the forest wash over him. [Spot=15, Listen=16]

Bin is overruled as the rest of the group settle in to camp for the night. Food is shared and a fire is lite. Wynn and Xenia cuddle up looking for starlight as they wait for their turn to guard and find some through a gap in the trees.

The night moves forward and the group gets some nice rest until about 2 hours after midnight when the starlight disappears and clouds gather overhead. A soft drizzle soon starts and the group struggles to cover their heads and find dry spots to finish up the night.

Morning finally arrives and the drizzle keeps falling. Some of the Crimson Shields make breakfast while others study their books or pray to their Gods. (Please update spell lists)

After a quick bite to eat, the group sets off. Lang please make a track check. Rain is making things more difficult but the trail isn't still to bad. DC 11 to follow.

The group keeps tracking and finally the drizzle fades away around lunch time. The Shields are getting tired as the trail generally seems to be rising and the terrain is getting more rocky and rough.

I need marching order. I am assuming Lang and Syr are in the front and if I don't get the marching order I will make it myself.

Angus is a more that a bit discouraged by the rain and mumbles "I could be a in a warm feather bed with a fine young lass." as the sorcerer rolls over to get under more branches and puts his big floppy leather hot over his head "At least its not cold."

Angus wakes in a foul mood in the morning "I think we need a lean too or tent or something in the future." Angus cracks his back as he is not accustomed to sleeping on the ground.

Angus does perk up after breakfast. "Lang can you track and hunt in the rain?"

Angus will keep the two clerics with him keeping between 50 - 70 yards behind the trackers depending on the terrain. Angus wants to keep the trackers in sight.

Angus looks to Wynn and Xenia "You guys are the rovers. Keep checking the flanks and rear and we travel."

Angus will cast message on the group as they travel. Angus says over the message line "When the spell ends lets all meet up with Lang and Syr and travel together for a bit and then I will redo the spell and we can spread out again."

WHile traveling with Bin and Belkior, Angus will ask "So how long has Domi been working for Alemi? There are no...problems between the two are there?"

Rain calls for a cloak. Not a problem for Fashion Girl.

But it also means that the forest becomes less snuggly comfy. Guess that's why folks started building houses in the first place.

Green eyes peering out from within the hood of her cloak, Xenia gives Angus the thumbs up as the group gets ready to move out.

"I'm eyes," she whispers into the Message spell. Then she steps behind a tree and slips through the concealing brush.

As the group moves along the trail, she keeps to the left flank, roving from the front of the column to the rear with a sharp eye out for trouble.

The halfling cleric isn't too pleased about the rainfall but he's also not too bothered by it. By Alemi's grace, Belkior no longer has to worry about colds, sniffles or any other such annoyances. But he does worry about his companions since Belkior knows that they do not enjoy similar protection.

After completing his prayers to Alemi, Belkior is ready to face the day. A quick bite and then it's time to join Angus and Bin on the trail. While Angus wants to stay back some distance, Belkior would rather be closer so that he can respond more quickly should anything happen. Still, he does stay back after the sorcerer reminds him several times. When Angus asks about Alemi and Domi, Belkior glances over at Bin before responding.

"Ah, I think it's more 'working together', rather. Yes, in the First Age Domi was the servant of Alemi but their paths have separated and then come together again. Wouldn't you agree, Bin?"

Feeling even more frustrated by the situation Bin can't help but think of ways to catch up to their prey. "Why didn't we bring some of our horses?", he grumbles to himself under his breath on one occassion. His brain storming continues, "How are we going to keep the captives from getting killed when we assault their lair? That is if they arn't killed immedietly upon hearing we are on the way."
After a moment to respond he continues, "I could cast a spell called Lesser Planar Ally which would send assistance from Domi. With his grace we could recieve help from something that can catch up to the half orcs and their leader. It will require a sacrifice from myself, which I have no problem in providing considering these circumstances, but it takes 10 minutes to cast, so I will ask your permission to do this."

When Belkior is concerned about the distance they are keeping from the trackers Angus adds, "I figure we can speak freely at this distance without scaring off any prey that the tracker may run across. They are much more stealthy than the three of us. Also, remember I can get our little group up close and personal real fast, just like yesterday. The trackers are in sight and well within range." Angus smiles as he finishes.

To Bin, "Try your spell if you think it will help, once we stop for lunch. I am curious how it works, please describe your plans for your ally and your required sacrifice." After looking up at the overcast sky, Angus will add "I wish we brought tents in addition to horses."

The bard wakes to the drips of rain from branches above him. He drapes his cloak over himself and the oilskin sheds the rain in small droplets.

Like Xenia, Wynn takes his position, but on the right flank. He moves through the forest alongside teh trail, sometimes up near the trackers, at other times back near the clerics. Where the forest gets to thick he makes his way back to the trail and a position near the middle.

The cloak makes travelling quietly through the damp forest difficult, but it keeps him dry and does not divert his attention from keeping a wary eye open for danger [Move Silently = 13, Listen=18, Spot=18]

Lang looks at the food that Xenia scrounged up.

"I don't know. We can probably find something better to eat than that (survival 22)."

Lang & Sunshine have an uneventful last watch with Syr. When morning approaches, Lang help get breakfast ready and then helps out with cleanup.

The rain doesn't bother Lang that much as he spent many days of his youth camping out in all sorts of weather.

"Tracking should still be fairly easy as it isn't raining that hard. Let me go see."

Lang moves out along the last known trail of the half-orcs. He squats down and studies the ground. He stands up after short while and moves out along the trail. He stops after few seconds.

"Trail is still very visible. They are still moving in this direction."

Syr spends most of his watch silently. As the group begins to wake up and he notices the others spirits, he bounces around the camp getting things ready and trying to cheer the downcast up.

"Don't worry about a little water, we live in a city surounded by water. Besides I hear this is the only way bugbear will bathe." The elf glances out of the corner of his eye judging Lang for a reaction. "Heck, I miss my comfortable bed back at the Float too but more importantly we have to solve this problem for the kids." He proceeds to remove his boots and roll up his pants, in preparation for a wet day. "You know Bin, the only thing I worry about now is whether Angus is studying his lightning bolt spell, that could be shocking!"

The group's morale is high as they move down the path casting jokes at each other and discussing religion. Only Bin seems to be upset about the lack of speed that the group is moving at and is wracking his brain on finding a way to cut the gap between the quarry and themselves.

The trail the group is following is getting more narrow as the trees become thicker with underbrush and pine trees. The group has been steadily but gradually climbing in elevation and visibility is getting tougher to see through the vegatation and hills. The terrain is also getting more rocky as large mounds of naturally formed boulders seem to be more common.

As lunch time approaches, Lang looks up to see Sunshine looking up the trail with a low growl coming from his throat. Seems like he has picked up a scent of something. As the group moves up the trail, the path again widens to a small clearing. 3 forms can be seen in the distance camping around several of boulders. They have a small fire going and you can smell the woodsmoke.

Angus looks at the remnants of the sun through the overcast grey of the day. Must be getting close to lunch and my message spell is starting to wind down. Lets close up ranks." Angus announces on the message line.

When he see Sunshine and the trackers react to something in front of them he start to move even quicker, but stay as quite as possible.

Move silent untrained and at normal speed 2 - 5 = -3 and fails badly as he breaks several branches. "This is another reason why we stay back of the trackers." Angus says to no one in particular.

"I'm on this," Xenia whispers through the Message spell. Again, she puts on the disguise of Stomp, and then she steps up against the greenery at the side of the trail. Stomp's form gets to kinda looking the same colors and stuff as the undergrowth. Sorta hard to see.

And Xenia moves out.

"I'll try and get back to you what they might be talking about. Anyone think they might can squirm through the brush and all to the other side of the clearing? If they run, we can head 'em off. Or if there's others lurkin' 'bouts, well, then we'll know."

As Sunshine lets out a low growl, Syr looks ahead at the campsite. "Lang, quiet Sunshine down real quick like. We aren't sure what we are getting into."

Syr whispers back to Angus using the spell, "Boss, three half orcs up ahead. From what I can tell, they haven't noticed us yet."

He quickly moves to the side hoping to hide from the figures up ahead. (Hide 26)

Since Angus seems to think it important, the halfling cleric also attempts to move ahead quietly. Belkior looks aside at the sorcerer, marvelling at how noisy these big people can be. He whispers over to Angus, "Maybe the path would be quieter. And faster."

As he keeps pace with Angus, Belkior will look forward to determine what else might be hiding in the clearing. But he can't see much besides undergrowth and tree trunks.

Lang motions for the group to stop when Sunshine lets out a low growl. He puts a hand on Sunshine's back to quiet him. He then notices the three forms up ahead around the campfire. Lang tries to gauge their size and determine if they are the large sized or man-sized (Spot 13).

Lang hears and sees the Shields start to move around him, many of them quite noisily. He then starts to move down the trail, as quiet and as hidden as he can.

Lang has his bow in hand and he waits to see what the creatures are before shooting them.

Bin watches with the others, as the stealthy ones move forward to see what else may be in the clearing. "I wonder if these people are not somehow in league with the bandits? perhaps this is the guild and they meet here to recieve their cut?
