Hi All,
Congratulations on Dragon Status!!!!
Please send me your character sheets again as much has transpired since I received them last.
Please feel free to post on the board. I will post the first Dm post tomorrow.
In your first few posts, please be very descriptive of your character to help me get familiar with it: sex, race, hair color, height weight, follows, henchmen, pets, interesting equipment, etc.....
I am looking forward to Dming your group.

Jay B AKA Lian Monday February 26th, 2007 7:36:10 PM
OOC: Are we going to be upgrading and leveling? I assume we will be sending you an up to date PC? Right? Or does it matter?
-------------------------
DM Jim: Send me your PC to review. I will give experience points as needed. You are correct, the group may get uneven experience points as I attempt to level up the group.
Falin Tuesday February 27th, 2007 2:04:41 AM
Not really looking forward to the groups of people Falin takes the advice given to Lian and decides to go with the rest of the team.
First poster back :)
Donna, a.k.a. K'Nara Tuesday February 27th, 2007 2:08:29 AM
Jan mentioned something about rubies or whatever as the party treasure. I'll ask her about it on the DM Board.
Dm Jim: Good Morning!!! Tuesday February 27th, 2007 12:14:41 PM
The group makes it back to the apartments late after a long night of celebrating their new status as Emerald DRAGONS. There were many noblemen and women and others that wanted to bend the new Dragons ear or buy them an ale or a mead or even a dance.
Morning comes early with a loud knocking on the door. It must only be just past dawn and the Emeralds only crawled back into there beds a few hours before.
Once the door is answered, as the banging will just not go away, Herterona stands in the doorway, fresh faced ready for the day. There is a vague recollection that Herterona and Sturdavant left the festivities very early in the evening.
Herterona is no longer in her moonlight gown, but in a much more practical doe skin pants and top. Her silver hair down in a braid that travels the length of her back. The ever present leather binder is in Herterona's left hand. "Rise and shine. We have a schedule for all of you this week, or actually just 5 days. Breakfast at the pavilion with the common folk, lunch with various business guilds and then dinner at several manor house. Please get ready quickly as the town folk will get surly if breakfast is delayed while all of you pretty up."
Herterona seems to be enjoying herself.
"This will get routine as the week progresses."
Herterona crosses her arms and starts to tap her left foot.
------------------------------
OOC: I will be attempt not to miss any Dm posts and I expect the same from all of you. I greatly suggest that you not miss posts in combat as that is an easy way to die. Please contact me if you will have an extended absence for any reason and we can see if we can get a fellow player to run your character while you are away from the Wold, as life will happen to all of us from time to time. Lets just try to keep the flow of the game going.
I will award experience point and treasure after I have received all of the character sheet. I have only 3 sheets to date.
Falin Tuesday February 27th, 2007 1:29:07 PM
With the pounding at the door Falin looks up and says, "I am getting to old for this stuff..." Letting his head fall back into the pillow.
Falin looks at Herterona standing in the door and tries to process her words, "What did I drink last night? Thought I only had milk."
Falin finds some somple pants and a shirt along with some leather boots. Pulling himself together he hurries down to breakfast. When he sees the others he asks in a lower tone, "I thought we were supposed to do something more direct than going to meetings and have meals."
Lian Tuesday February 27th, 2007 1:48:00 PM
The monk appears in a corner, sitting, calmly, quietly, meditating (or elven tranced, whichever) for hours.
K'Nara Tuesday February 27th, 2007 6:17:24 PM
K'Nara groans as she rubs her head and eyes the silver-haired wench who is looking entirely too perky at this evil hour of the morning...then she sighs.
It wouldn't be such an evil hour if not for the Flaming Green Gnomishes at last night's celebration.
"You heard the lady, Tal...um...Dragons..." the human blade singer grates out, "We're expected. Rise, shine and prepare for the day." K'Nara returns to the room she shared with Gunther last night, smiling fondly at the man as he is sprawled out on the bed and snuggled up to Thaeri, who has taken advantage of the warm spot abandoned by the redhead. Feeling mischievous, K'Nara leans down and whispers softly into his ear:
"...Guntherrrrrrr...a kiss before we rise, hmmm...?"
Then she straightens up and watches to see if he's too sleepy to notice that he'll be kissing Thaeri rather than K'Nara.
Ingrge Tuesday February 27th, 2007 6:18:52 PM
Already up and dressed when herterona arrives Ingrge makes his way to K'nara's room and knocks, hoping to have a word with her alone before they head out. He has his haversack over his shoulder and a serious look on his face.
Knara: Highlight to display spoiler: { when alone with her he opens his haversack and removes quite a few things from it and places them on the floor telling K'nara that these items are for the party and should be divvied up in such a way that makes the most sense. He then goes on to explain to her what each of the things is.
• Periapt of wound closure • Rod of metamagic maximize • Wand of Haste • Wand Feedom of movement • Wand stoneskins • CLW (5) • CSW (7) • 110,000 gold -- cash left from sale of staff and tomes after purchasing the above 3 wands }
He them takes his leave and gets ready for Sturtevant's day's plans.
Milo Tuesday February 27th, 2007 8:28:39 PM
Milo's eyes snap open when the pounding on the door begins. Without pause the rogue vaults out of bed and begins humming a merry tune as he prepares for his first day as a dragon. He even growls to himself, a grin playing across his face. Despite the party the previous evening, he looks none the worse for wear.
Gunther and Thaeri d100=83 Tuesday February 27th, 2007 11:10:32 PM
Snoring loudly, the warrior spoons lazily next to what he thinks is still K'nara. Eyes still closed, Gunther reaches over and plants a hard wet one...on furry lips?!!
Theari's response is quick and painful. With a snarl the big cat's claws reach out and extract flesh from Gunther's chest.
Now soundly awake, Gunther rolls out of the bed in total shock. Spitting fur out of his mouth, the trainer quickly dons his adventurers outfit, tenderly rubbing the scratches on his chest. His glance bounces back and forth between K'nara and Thaeri before he throws his hands in the air. "Vomen!" is all he manages to mutter before he splashes himself with water and heads out the door.
Aeralia Tuesday February 27th, 2007 11:26:18 PM
The young sorceress groans lightly as she wakes to the pounding at the door, still having a slight headache from the night before. Once on her feet and at the door, Aeralia nods lightly to Herterona's mention of the schedule. She then washes up quickly, slipping into her customary clothing; a form fitted top with long bell sleeves, and a few layers of loose and billowing skirts, over tight leggings. This outfit happens to be a clashing yellow and red pattern, flashy and obvious, but functional and flexible. Tying her hair with a ribbon into a ponytail, she activates the glamour magic in the headpiece, her pitch black hair quickly shifting in color to match the bright red of her clothing.
Once ready, the slender young woman quickly heads down the stairs to breakfast, taking whatever seat she is assigned. She smiles politely and greets any of the common folk already there, certainly hoping and actively looking for children, if any.
"So, whats for breakfast?" she wonders outloud, seating herself, and brushing out non-existant wrinkles in a ladylike manner.
K'Nara (second post) Wednesday February 28th, 2007 12:14:00 AM
Grinning, K'Nara nods in Thaeri's direction.
"Steak for you tonight." she assures the panther and goes to make sure that Gunther's scratches are tended to. "Oh, but Gunther...now I can kiss it and make it better..."
Lian Wednesday February 28th, 2007 12:49:03 PM
Lian gets up, excercises and washes up. He will ask a seamstress, if there is one, stitch green cording or banding to his grey set of cloths... his only set he wears.
OOC: Where is it the Emeralds are now, I lost track? Are they in the Ghost or back in the Tower of Saryd?
Dm Jim: Breakfast Wednesday February 28th, 2007 7:53:11 PM
Herterona waits impatiently as the Emeralds get ready and as soon as the group looks even halfway ready she announces "Alright, follow me."
Herterona sets a brisk pace through Plateau City. The City looks magnificent this morning. The streets are swept. The roads are clear.
Please seem to make way for the Emeralds as the pass. Some tipping their hats, others bowing and all smiling. It is unclear if it is for the Emeralds or for Herterona or most likely both.
The group walks for 10 minutes toward the center of town under clear skies. In the center of town, Herterona slows and lets the Emeralds get closer. "It is not often that the common folk get a chance to rub elbows with those of high class or accomplishment. This week is special, so make it so for them too. Sturdavant is using this opportunity to give back to the populace. This is also an opportunity for you to meet the people you are indirectly looking out for. Most of all enjoy yourselves."
Noise can be heard around the next bend, a sort of group yell or shout. Herterona stops "I will introduce you. Go and mingle. I will come and collect you before noon. Gunther, please bring your kitty. One of the business, no circus owners, want to talk to you about sticking your head into a Dire Lion's mouth, something of the sort. Business leaders at lunch and nobles at dinner. Only four more days of this." Herterona smiles.
Herterona then steps around the corner and is a strong loud voice "I Give You The EMERALD DRAGON'S!!!" Herterona claps and walks backwards as she waits for the Emeralds to come around the corner. The crowd roars and starts clapping.
Once the group rounds the corner it is apparent that there are at least 3000 people in and around the pavilion, at least half of the children. Under the Pavilion there are rows of long tables piled with food stuffs, bread, fruit, smoked meats and kegs.
The crowd starts to part and waits to engulf the Emeralds.
----------------------------
OOC: I now have 5 character sheets. Please send the final ones so I can supply treasure and experience points.
Gunther and Thaeri Wednesday February 28th, 2007 10:04:49 PM
Grinning, Gunther waves at the crowd and heads toward the children. "Who wants to ride de kitty?" he calls out.
Thaeri shudders as she hears Gunther's invitation. This is soooo beneath her...
Milo Thursday March 1st, 2007 12:54:41 AM
Milo gives Olana a peck on the cheek, and then dives whole heartedly into the nearest throng of children, with whom he feels a special affinity. He wends his way through the group, playing short simple games with them, and telling them jokes... jokes of innocence and youth and love.
Falin Thursday March 1st, 2007 12:59:50 AM
"Well, I guess I can not be a shut in all of my life. Here goes nothing." Falin says as he makes his way into the crowd. He will look to see if he can find those people at the edges of the crowd that look like they feel out of place. Since that is the way he feels he will engage those people to make them feel at ease.
Lian Thursday March 1st, 2007 1:05:03 PM
Leaning over to Falin, "I'd prefer to be shut in." He whispers, putting on a very unconvincing smile for the crowd. The monk sticks close to Knara, but makes an effort to find Bert and Aeralia in the throngs.
"Knara, this is very very uncomfortable. We need to return the forest sooner rather than later. Truly, this is not our place. We must protect the whole of the Culverwood from Parnoth's rampage." It is clear that the Hand of Domi would prefer fighting to pagentry.
Ingrge Thursday March 1st, 2007 6:38:08 PM
Having a quick bite to eat and a strong cup of Chai, Ingrge joins the others on the forray into the city, expecting some small neighborhood get-togethers to meet different groups of people, he is a bit startled to see the throngs of people filling the streets waiting for them. Putting a smmile on his face and wishing he were standing toe to toe with a black dragon he whips out his staff and with some very showy twirls and such sends several harmless spells into the sky: 2 Dancing lights, and prestidigitation, so that all of a sudden small globes of light are dancing through the sky seemingly playing tag with themselves and the children.
Moments later Ingrge again casts a spell Major Image, that spread across the sky and hazilyt shows the battle with the red dragons that they just completed.
K'Nara Friday March 2nd, 2007 2:56:29 AM
Smiling and waving, K'Nara easily greets the crowd that is there to wish them well. It prompts a brief but intense memory of Festival Time back in Derring, the village she'd grown up in.
Ah, but that was so long ago and rather far away now.
She eyes the uneasy demeanor of Thaeri and whispers to Gunther:
"Are you sure you want to offer rides on a barely-trained, big black panther? Especially one with a heightened sense of awareness?"
Dm JIm: Festivities Friday March 2nd, 2007 8:25:18 AM
OOC: I attempted to stay up last night and wait to see how many character sheets I received, but I did not make it to midnight, before I fell fast alseep.
I will post on Staurday around noon to make up the missed post.
---------------------------------
The group, some eagerly and some less so, embrace and are embraced by the throng. People mostly want to touch the new Dragon's. Some of the common folk ask for a lock of hair or some trinket to remember them by. All enjoy the free food and drink and the break from the drearly lives. Mothers and fathers are holding up small children to see the Emeralds better, some even ask for their children to be kissed or blessed.
After a few hours of shaking hands and backslapping, Herterona appears at the pavillion again. "Well done Dragons." Herterona claps lightly before shouting "THE EMERALD DRAGON's WILL BE BACK TOMORROW TO MEET WITH YOU, BUT HAVE OTHER APPOINTMENTS TO KEEP NOW!"
The throng reluctantly lets the group go.
Striding away, Herterona updated the Emeralds "We are off to the Mason Guild meeting hall for lunch. It is also portrait time for Falin and K'Nara."
It is a 30 minute walk to a great stone hall of the Mason's Guild. People in the streets wave to the Emeralds and shout out encouragement "Great Job!" "Power to the People!" "Stomp Out Evil!" "Please bless my child" are just a few.
The Mason Hall is a long and wide granite structure with a intricately designed columned front. Inside the grand hall, it is a one storied building but with 20 foot high ceilings. There is a stage at the far end. Herterona walks you down the center toward the stage. There are long stone tables on either side. The Tables are full and there are several hundred in attendance. Servers are quickly bringing drinks to all in attendance.
One the stage there are several artists with canvase ready. In a whispered tone Herterona adds "They are expecting a few words of encouragement from each of you before lunch, especially K'Nara. Approach the Lectern in any order." Herterona approached the lectern "My friends, I give you our new protectors, The Emerald Dragon's. Please hold you questions until after lunch."
At the mention of the Emerald Dragons the hall erupts "Dragons!" and they raise their mugs, flagons and glasses in toast.
From the stage the Dragons can see a place of honor is being kept for them at the head table, apparently after they speak.
The artists are studying Falin and K'Nara; several are framing them with their hands from a safe distance.
As Herterona leaves the stage she calls back "I will collect you in a few hours for dinner. Carpenters lunch tomorrow." Herterona goes and says Hi and glad hands several of the guild memebers as she leave the hall.
-----------------------------------
OOC: I have 7 Character sheets now. Do I have to wait for one more or is that it?
Falin Friday March 2nd, 2007 9:17:42 AM
Falin leans in towards K'Nara and whispers with a smile, "I think I would rather face the flying skulls again instead of Herterona's schedule. I am scared."
He will walk over to the artists so they can get a better view. "Am I supposed to pose or something?" He asks.
Lian Friday March 2nd, 2007 10:46:59 AM
The monk does his best to avoid giving parts of himself to the folks, but he is civil when asked. "Sorry, no."
Ingrge Friday March 2nd, 2007 8:49:34 PM
Ingrge again looks abit shellshocked as he is led into another large room filled with people who are there to see him and the rest of the tal... Dragons. And now he is expected to speak.... he looks at K'nara trying some way to convey the question. Do I have to?
(OOC: Jim Bertram our Dwarven Cleric has gone on indefinite walk-a-bout.)
Gunther Friday March 2nd, 2007 9:11:53 PM
Gunther chuckles at K'nara. "I tink she vould be ok vith it...but you're right. I should probably talk vith her first."
In the Hall, Gunther spends most of his time talking and wrestling with Thaeri. He knows that all of this city time is very strange to the creature and he makes sure to reassure his bond with her. After he is done, he approaches the lectern and speaks very briefly about what an honor it is to be in this fine city and how he looks forward to helping the citizens in the future. He keeps it short and sweet, knowing that if he says much more he's likely to say something very stupid.
Aeralia Friday March 2nd, 2007 11:36:06 PM
Aeralia smiles and waves alot to all of the children, stopping and bending down to talk with some of the smaller ones often. She seems to shine as she offers small words of encouragement to those she speaks with, and kind words of thanks for those whom encourage her.
She watches Ingrge's illusion with some interest, carefully scrutinizing any flaws and inconsitancies that the show might have.
Heading towards the Mason's Hall, Aeralia continues to smile and wave to those in the streets, chatting witily with the commoners. Once in the hall, the sorceress leaves the speech to K'Nara, unless she's asked to speak.
K'Nara Saturday March 3rd, 2007 1:37:59 AM
K'Nara takes Gunther's arm as they trot along to the meeting hall, her eyebrows elevating at Herterona's mention that she and Falin "especially" are to be immortalized on canvas.
"Hmmm...'tis a sad day when the artists of The Wold believe that ours happen to be the prettiest faces in our motley lot." she teases the elven sharpshooter.
At the prospect of having to give another speech, K'Nara rolls her eyes, but she gamely approaches the podium.
"I am a warrior." she says without preamble. "And well do I know the importance of being ready to fight at a moment's notice--but I'd like to take this time to thank everyone here, because I could not be a warrior for The Wold were it not for everyone else doing what they do. I would not be able to go about and slay evil monsters if I had to stop and grow my food, make my clothes...pick up and haul away the refuse. Those jobs are ably filled by others and I want to thank those who do them for their efforts. The Wold is the place it is because everyone does their share. So...thank you one and all."
K'Nara glances obliquely at Ingrge and then adds:
"And now a few words from Ingrge Nightseer...an elf of great skill and courage." She smiles at him as she yields the podium.
"Remember, Ingrge--skill and courage!" she whispers as she passes. "Go get 'em!"
Falin (second post) Saturday March 3rd, 2007 2:36:28 AM
Falin lets out a hearty laugh before quickly covering his mouth as K'Nara hands the floor over to Ingrge.
Ingrge (semi-illegal second post) Saturday March 3rd, 2007 9:20:56 AM
Giving a slightly scathing look at K'nara as she introduces him, he literally glares at Falin for a moment and then steps forward.
Looking over the assembled persons, Ingrge takes in a deep breath and slowly releases it.
I am an elf of very few word, but I suppose just saying thank you for the honor of being here and being recognized would not be enough.
We, of all the Wold have been chosen to help defend the populace of our world from the evils that we find within it. This does not mean we are better than anyone else or believe that we are above anyone else. None of us were born noble or for that matter wealthy, but we were each blessed by the gods in some form or other with a talent or two, which in others' hands would make us people to be feared and hated. Our esteemed leader mentioned skill and courage as being very important, but I say that most of the regular people in the Wold have far more courage and a wider range of skills than we do, and face the evils of the Wold daily. To me, our first and foremost weapon against the evils of the Wold is our compassion. Thank you. I now would like to introduce to you Falin Darkshine.
Lian Saturday March 3rd, 2007 10:56:49 AM
Lian smirks for the first time in days as Ingrge talks. Looking at the Weapon Mage, the monk says, "This coming from a man who shows up fachionably late and puts on the biggest light show of them all. Are we being humble today Ingrge?" He winks.
"Humility, loyalty and honor is, for the time being, the biggest assest I see in us."
And so no one introduces him, "I'm Lian Siannodel, called Moonbrook at home in the Culverwood."
Dm Jim: Introductions Saturday March 3rd, 2007 1:06:13 PM
The group seems less than excited about speaking before those assembled in the Stone Masons Hall. K'Nara give a try and is greeted by tepid applause as it appears that those in attendence were looking for more. Ingrge give a try and is greeted with more applause and whispered undertones of "Humility, always a good quality."
Lian and Falin are invited "Please come to our Inn, The White Page, and meet our patrons one evening. We will serve you a wonderful meal." Lian give a brief introduction and is given warm applause.
Those assembled wait for the others to take there turn speaking.
After, the Dragons give their brief talk, lunch is served. There is beer and wine to wash down duck and boar roasts. The wonderful smell of roasted meat hangs in the Hall.
When lunch is complete, the masons and other busniess leaders in attendance all attempt to get the ear of various Emeralds.
To Gunther "Can you work the Circus? One day, just to stick your head in our Dire lions mouth. We do need a week for the marketing. What say you?"
To K'Nara and Ingrge"Any need os stone for large structures that you need to build in our area?" Most questions are directed at Ingrge "How many cubic yards of stone will you require?"
To Aeralia a handsome humale male in his mid twenties with dark close cropped hair and a short beard. "Beautiful, Miss Aerlia, I am Carlos Bedecken, I just want to show you the city. Are you free tomorrow night.
The artists are always pulling Falin and K'Nara back to the stage for more posing and closeups, sometimes it saves them from the crowd after lunch.
------------------
Herterona returns before long and goes to the stage "Gentlemen. I must take the Emerald Dragons from you. Just remember that they will lunch at the Carpenter hall tomorrow, if you still have questions."
with that announcement, Herterona wisks the Emeralds out of the hall as she closes her leather binder. The businessmen all end there conversation with the Emeralds reluctantly. All it seems to take is a cross look from Herterona.
Once outside the hall Herterona adds "You have one hour before I come to collect you for dinner. This is a more formal affair. Dress well. Excuse me while I attend to other business."
------------------------------------------
OOC: So I have all of the character sheets. Everyone will get a bonus 1000 exp. That is after I award experience.
There is a 5 level differenece between highest to lowest Dragons. I will not be giving an even amount of experience. I will be emailing each of you this weekend. I want the updated character sheets by March 9th.
Lian d8=4 Saturday March 3rd, 2007 4:46:18 PM
(Rolled 4 hit points for 5th Hand level.)
After the Emeralds are left to themselves, the elf states his concerns. "I almost feel as if I'm being... 'collected' like sort sort of trophy of war or a hunt. Is this What politics is about? Demostration and showing face in every town, city and hamlet from here to .... the Shadow Lands?"
Falin Sunday March 4th, 2007 12:21:25 AM
After they are all hurried outside Falin walks up to Ingrge and with a smile, "I apologize for laughing. As Lian has pointed out we are being showed off like prizes and I was trying to make light of the situation. It wont happen again."
OOC: I was rolling when I read K'Nara's post and figuring Falin has a little of my personality I figured he would think it funny too. :)
Walking over to Lian, Falin asks him, "Do you know what 'The White Page' is? And was it a particular group who invited us?"
Aeralia Sunday March 4th, 2007 10:05:43 PM
Aeralia smiles widely as the businessman offers to show her about the city. "I'll have to check my schedule with Miss Herterona, sir. But I'd be delighted to accompany you," she responds politely. She'll be sure to get where she can send corrispondence.
Once they leave, Aeralia does infact check with Herterona, seeing whether she can accept the man's offer or not. Whichever the decision, the young sorceress makes sure that a messanger is sent with her response to the young man's home or place of business.
The lovely brunette quickly changes into something a little more formal for the evening dinner, brushing her hair lightly with the bit of free time that she has.
Once summoned, she'll make herself available whereever she is needed.

Gunther Monday March 5th, 2007 10:10:15 AM
The cat trainer considers the circus offer. "I vould love to...but I do have some conditions. First, I need to check out de place to make sure you treat your animals vell. Den I need to speak to de trainer to check on his training methods. But I'm sure dat von't be a problem."
When they are released, Gunther turns to K'nara with a smile. "I tink I'll take you up on dat offer to kiss my boo boos."
K'Nara Monday March 5th, 2007 11:23:48 AM
The blade singer makes sure that there is the inn's largest tub in her room with plenty of hot water as well as the soap, cloths and towels to go with it.
"Come, Gunther," she says, taking him by the hand, "We have to make sure that you're thoroughly cleaned up for dinner, as well as tend to your...boo-boos."
Lian Monday March 5th, 2007 3:17:11 PM
The monk is aparently distracted by something. "Booboos, what? Oh, its you two again." He sighs.
The apparent loss of Bertram to other duties and his sudden departure has left Lian a bit upset. No goodbye or the like. They were friends, weren't they? This was the first he's heard of it. "Any word about where Bertram was going? We have a church to start."
"Knara, does Bertram's absence promote ME to field medic? Because I am not qualified. I have only minor healing and my place is on the field. I am concerned that the Emeralds are already losing foundation. Engagements among group members, the loss of our cleric and the luxary we are being shown as Dragons. I fear that the promotion to Dragons weakens us even now." These are legitimate concerns and there is true doubt in the monk's eyes.
(Spell list will follow...)
Milo Monday March 5th, 2007 6:13:15 PM
Milo's eyes seem to have become permanently glazed over in the last few days. "Um... food... I'm not sure I've expended enough energy to actually require more.... food." The halfling rogue looks... disheartened by his newly acquired transition.
Ingrge Monday March 5th, 2007 10:16:13 PM
Moving along with the crowd, Ingrge makes sure to take note of those he spoke to about the stone, amounts, costs, availability and delivery schedules.
K'Nara Tuesday March 6th, 2007 1:20:17 AM
K'Nara pats Lian on the shoulder.
"Fear not, my good monk," she assures him, "I would never leave you holding the bag for a position you don't want. We will prevail. I just need a bit of time to think upon it."
The chestnut-maned blade singer loops her arm through Gunther's and whisks him off to their bath and preparations for dinner.
Falin Tuesday March 6th, 2007 2:13:41 AM
"Herterona," Falin begins, "Will we have one evening to ourselves? I have been asked to dine at the white page one evening."
Dm Jim: Dinner Tuesday March 6th, 2007 8:23:56 AM
OOC: I apologize for not posting yesterday. I had to get up at 2:30 am to catch my plan and when I finally got to the hotel after working all day, I immediately fell asleep.
I will post lat tonight so that everyone has time to post.

--------------------------------------
The circus trainer, Bart, is a bit defensive when questioned by Gunther. "There was a terrible accident, during our last performance our last trainer was killed. Do you want a temporary gig while in the city?"
------------
Herterona comes to pick up the group in about an hour. Herterona is waiting in a four horse drawn carriage and there is a second carriage for the overflow. The carriages have a top, but open sides. Herterona how has her long silver hair up and is wearing a cool green gown, but she never leaves her carriage.
A footman comes to the door to fetch the Emeralds.
Herterona call out "Bring your cat Gunther and you and he are in the back carriage." Under her breath, but not too quite " Can not have cat hair on my gown."
Herterona closes her leather binder as the Emeralds enter the two carriage.
To answer Falin. "Your time from midnight to dawn will be yours for the next few days. The rest of the time is for the people. After your dinner with Sturdevant at the end of the week, all the time is yours, so to speak. "Herterona says with a smile.
To Aeralia Herterona just rolls her eyes. "Just try to get some sleep as your public needs you."

The carriages take the group through the city. It does not seem to be the most direct route, but though the most populus areas. People come out and wave to the Dragon's. Young men and women bring the opposite sex flowers and a quick word.
Once outside the city, the group travels to one of the manor houses. There are several carriages already parked outside. The footmen of various outfits are together taking care of the horses.
The Dragons are escorted into Fairfield Manor. The manor is three stories and muct contain at least 60 rooms. Herterona adds after eveyone dismounts "This is the Manor of the Fairfield family. The Bisby and Calzada family are also in attendance. Be polite and answer there questions after dinner."
The group is escorted in and announced in turn. Herterona give the butler the correct manor in which to pronounce each name.
Once each walks into the dining room there are about 25 people in attendance all standing behind seats. Once all of the Dragons are announce an older gentlemen at the head of the table clears his throat "I am Bucky Fairfield, Welcome to my humble home."
There is a nine coarse wonderful dinner. After dinner drinks are served and then the question just flow from the host and all of his guests.
"Tell us of your travels."
"Have you really killed a dragon."
"Do fire giants breath fire"
"Have you ever been in Love."
"WHat is th mos romantic thing that has happened to you?"
Lian Tuesday March 6th, 2007 11:11:59 AM
"Knara I could never and would never presume to replace someone like Brother Bertram. I just simply don't think I'm qualified, even in a temperary state."
When entering the Manor hall and assailed by questions, the monk grows more and more uncomfortable with the days of crowds and decadence. "I was born. I grew up. By conveyances of all sorts and overland journey, I'm now here. It is a rather simple and uneventful life." When love is mentioned, the monk is silent and his eye slip to Aeralia.
K'Nara Tuesday March 6th, 2007 11:34:23 AM
K'Nara and Gunther emerge from their room with Gunther dressed in his buckskin pants and a neat gray tunic (another gift from K'Nara, it seems.)
K'Nara's outfit is a formal variation on her normal garb: cinnamon-colored suede leggings, a frilled white shirt, a hip-sash of blue and an embroidered short vest give the tall blade singer a "fashionable lady pirate" sort of look. Her hair is in its customary snood, although this one is made of golden thread.
K'Nara takes the questions of the nobles in good grace, smiling, recounting various and sundry trips to the different places that the Talons...the Emerald Dragons...have visited and putting to rest the contention that fire giants breathe fire...
"Fire?" she says, grinning, "No, no--they don't breathe fire...I'd say they have poisonous breath. The ones we fought certainly could've dropped cattle with the horrid stench they expelled!"

((Sorry about the lack of posting, folks. Almost done with character sheet.))
Lian Tuesday March 6th, 2007 2:13:14 PM
Lian smiles for the first time in days. "Giants... they like to throw monks or anything that looks like a rabbit."
(No worries Jan, I just got my sheet in VERY recently.)
Milo d6=4 Tuesday March 6th, 2007 8:33:08 PM
Milo jumps in where appropriate where the group's adventures are concerned. However, when the questions get personal, the halfling becomes extremely quiet, a look of It is none of your business crosses his face, and he remains silent. (OOC: Rolled 4 for hit points, will add in CON bonus separately.)
Gunther Tuesday March 6th, 2007 10:59:52 PM
The cat trainer pats Bart on the shoulder in a friendly manner...the myriad of scars criss crossing his tan arms reinforcing his point. "De kitties can be hard to vork vith. I've had to learn dat lession many times. If it's ok vith you I'll come by de circus vhen I have a free moment and ve can talk more den."
Looking very relaxed and happy, Gunther adjoins K'nara to the Fairfield household. Checking constantly to make sure that Thaeri is comfortable and entertained, Gunther lets K'nara and the more outspoken members of the Dragons answer most of the questions. He just can't resist throwing out an answer to the last question, however and he calls out. "I can't tell you de most romantic ting...but I can tell you vat is not romantic. Vaking up to kiss your kitty in the morning!!" Gunther roars with laughter.
Dm Jim: THe Day(s) grow long Wednesday March 7th, 2007 1:49:07 AM
Bart smiles and slaps the broad man on the back when he agrees to see him at the Circus "Just stop by after the witch lets you go. We are on the outskirts of town, just look for the big red tent."
---------------------
Herterona stays for dinner and makes small talk with the familes in attendance alas trying to keep the spotlight on the Emerald Dragons.
The Dragons are mostly less than forthcomming with the peppering of question they recieve. The well to do famlies in attendence are mostly polite, but the Dragons seem to leave them wanting for more information.
After cordials and tabacco, the families say their farewells to Herterona and the Emerald Dragons. The family heads seem to want to get a good word in with Herterona for the High Lord Mayor. Herterona just smiles and kisses each patriarch on the cheek.
The ride back to the rooms at the Red Wymm Tavern is quite as most of the Plateau City is sleeping. There are a few revelers out, but not many on the path the carriages take.
It must be after Midnight, when the carriages arrive at the inn. Herterona does not dismount, but waves to the group "See everyone at dawn."
---------------------------
Dawn comes with a rap at the door to the room and there is a bright and sunny Herterona in a practical doe skin outfit, leather binder in her left hand. "Ready for day two."
The next few days are a blur and the Emerald Dragons break bread with the common folk for breakfast, dine with various business leaders for lunch (including the remaining portraits), and sup with the high society of the Plateau city in the evening.
After the better part of the week, the Emerald Dragons are exhausted and more than a few pounds heavier.
As the Emeralds drag themselves out of the carriages on the last night the chipper Herterona adds "Sleep in. This is your day of rest. Tomorrow you will have a private dinner with the High Lord Mayor. Bring your manners and any questions you may have." Herterona turns to go and then adds "You have represented yourselves well. It is a difficult task to be other peoples hope."
Lian Wednesday March 7th, 2007 1:20:16 PM
"Can't wait."
Milo Wednesday March 7th, 2007 3:38:01 PM
Milo drags himself to bed, a weary crease across his normally unmarred forehead. Muttering to no one in particular, "People's hope? I hope to be doing something other then eat sooner then later." That said, the nimble halfling prepares to put himself through a rigorous routine of tumbling before a bed claims him.
Gunther Wednesday March 7th, 2007 10:26:33 PM
Breathing a sigh of relief as they finally have a day off, Gunther spends almost all the time with K'nara. He does, however, make a short visit to the Circus where he inspects the facilities and then gives a brief but very friendly session on big cat training, emphasizing on understanding your cats and how to tell when they are not in the mood to work.
Dm Jim: Day off and Preparations Thursday March 8th, 2007 1:51:30 AM
OOC: We need to improve our posting. I will attempt to post as consistant as possible and will not wait for posters. This posting pattern will be very detrimental to the group health in any combat.
Thank you to those that are posting every day.
-------------------------
Gunther uses his day to visit Bart at the Circus. The big red tent is not hard to find, in fact several townfold escort the famous Emerald Dragon to the Circus.
Bart see Gunther and his entourage approach the Red Tent and he comes out to meet the Dragon "Gunther it is an honor that you have come to my circus." Bart takes take Gunther on a tour of the Circus. The circus seems to be on hiatus as there are sign advertizing the next show, but there is not date. The performers are practicing, juggling, acrobats, horse trainers, dog trainers, clowns, strongmen, and magicians.
Bart saves the best for last, the dire lion cages. There is a large female Dire Lion pacing in a cage. There is a second cage with with a dead male dire lion being worked on by a team of taxidermists. Bart explains "Samson ate Hughbert in our last performace. We are no having him stuffed. Delila is not happy." With that the lioness roars.
Gunthers entourage all jump back at the roar.
---------------------------------
The next day, the day of the scheduled meeting with the High Lord Mayor, dawns bright and beautiful. The Dragons are bored and anxious for the meeting, but the day passes quickly and time for the dinner approaches.
A carriage is sent for the Emerald Dragons an hour before dinner, but no Herterona this time, just the footmen.
The Emeralds are driven through the city to the waving crowds. The carriages work their way out of the city to a fortified Manor house the Sturvevant uses as his seat of government.
The guards wave the carriage to the main house and the Dragons are meet by a well dressed male elf. "Welcome to Pleatu House." The elf the turns on his heel and opens the main doors of the house for the Dragons to enter. The foyer is huge and bedecked with gold statues and tapestries. The elf takes the lead again and leads the group deeper into the home and into a formal dining room.
Inside the room are Sturdevant and Herterona, both dressed very formal, and both are speaking to a less well dress older human that is floating on a floating disk.
In one corner are three young male wood elves in travel cloths. The elves look to be cleaned up, but do not seem dressed for the occasion. In fact, the three elves seem very intimidated by their surroundings as the stand off to one side by themselves.
K'Nara recognizes one of the elves from the refugees from the tower of Saryd.
Ingrge can see several auras of magic on all in the room.
Sterdavant waves over the group "Come Dragons it is time to eat and talk. How was your week?"
The wood elves say nothing during dinner as they seem to be waiting their turn.
After dinner Sturdevant stands and paces before speaking "The Emerald Dragons you have choices before you. Oxford here" Sturdevant indicates the wizard on the floating disk. Oxford needs the disk as he has no legs. "has a problem. The star mage guild of which he is a member has been attacked, we do not yet know how badly, bu fear the worst. Then we have you elf friends, they bring ill tidings from your tower. It appears that Nickoli the red has paid it a visit."
Sturdevant takes a moment to compose his thoughts "I had hoped for more time, to maybe season you all a bit on the simulator. Now that Parnoth and the Tines are somewhat in balance, but there appears to be a shadow over affairs. With the Platinum Dragons bowing out, I fear that a shadow on the land that has been biding its time may come out to strike."
Olana Thursday March 8th, 2007 2:15:24 AM
During the entire walk the day after the celebration, through town, Olana wants nothing more than to throttle Herterona. Do this, do that. What were they, performing puppets? And all these people!! She actually had to growl at someone wanting a lock of hair. Yes, growl. Dear acorns when was it going to end? With a bit of luck, Gunther's cat would run amok and frighten them all away.
Alas, it was not to be. That uppity elf hurrying them along some more for the dinner is nearly the last straw. While they're getting ready, she gives Milo a hug from behind and plants a kiss below his ear. "Can I strangle Herterona?" she asks him, only half jesting. "I'm sorry for being a silent sourpuss, but she's been driving me crazy."
The next few days are not over fast enough for this elf.
Falin Thursday March 8th, 2007 4:51:35 AM OOC: Sorry for the alck of posting. Just got home and got everything settled. Wife and kids were extatic to see me.
After the second night Falin says to K'Nara, "You know I almost feel like we are being led around to show our support for this place and the Mayor. This is honorable, but we have problems we need to take care of in Culverwood. I fear that they may feel we have forgotten where we came from."
At the meeting with the Mayor, Falin listens to the two choices. Hoping K'Nara knows what his choice would be he waits for her response.
Ingrge Thursday March 8th, 2007 7:14:35 AM
Tired from all the parading around, Ingrge has lost what little charm and grace he ever had and is now very much returned to the surly, dwarfish elf that the party was familiar with. While he is polite with all who speak to him his words are few and to the point as if to get the conversation over with.
The only change in him occurs when there is a group of children around and then he all but goes out of his way to be around them and to entertain them with small magics and tricks.
When the day of rest finally arrives Ingrge finds a spot where there are several trees and some privacy and retreats there to contemplate the wold.
The time of reflection does its job and Ingrge finds himself almost at peace again, though he still wishes he could head back to the Culverwood and just work on getting their home fixed up and plan for the upcoming construction.
As they arrive at Sturtevant's Ingrge's eyes dart dirtectly to the three elves standing off to the side and then listens to what the Mayor is saying. Someone attacking the Star Guild? And they can't handle it? Sounds a bit fishy. And who is Nickoli the Red? I can't believe that Parnoth would even dain to let another dragon on his territoryeven if it was to annoy and attck the Tal.. Emeralds. Not forming any opinios yet, Ingrge awaits any and all other information.
Lian Thursday March 8th, 2007 9:48:39 AM
"Is Nikoli the red dragon that got away?" Askes the elf. "Is everyone alright or were there casualties? How did the Tower fair? Who sent word?"
Aeralia Thursday March 8th, 2007 10:09:54 AM
During the week she complained very little, and continued to show extra effort in greeting, and actually listening to townfolk (when they actually had something to say). She hardly seems to show any lack of sleep from the long days, and even gave up most of one of her nights to the young gentleman who took her late night hours to show her about the city.
"Perhaps we should listen to both accounts, to get a better understand of each situation," Aeralia says simply, hearing their options. Over the week she had become much more outgoing, waiting less for others to speak in diplomatic settings, though being very delicate in her words to make no assumptions for the group, allowing K'Nara the ultimate say in matters.
"Nickoli would be the last remaining dragon from Lantheise's servitude, right?" she says, nodding towards Lian as he asks nearly the same thing. "Why don't you tell us what happened," she offers to the elves. She smiles towards the disk wizard assuringly, wordlessly letting him know she planned fully to hear his story as well, before making any decisions.
K'Nara Thursday March 8th, 2007 3:49:33 PM
Immediately K'Nara's focus is on the refugees that she feels responsible for.
"What happened?" she prompts the wood elves, planning to ask the floating mage about his problem after the elves report on their situation.
Gunther Thursday March 8th, 2007 4:32:51 PM
At the circus: While at the circus, Gunther grows purple in the face as he sees the handling of the Dire Lion. His fists clench and unclench as he tries to keep control of his anger. Normally he would handle this situation the orc way...by slamming his fist into Bart's skull and then literally kicking the taxidermists out of the male lions cage. But he is a "hero" now...and so he tries a little tact. "More den likely your kitty is more den a little upset by you stuffing her mate vile she vatches." he grinds out through gritted teeth. "To say de least, I do not approve of de vay you are handling dis situation. And obviously I vill not be performing vith you until you learn how to treat de kitties properly. As a matter of fact, I have half a mind to recommend to de High Lord Mayor dat he close down your establishment!" Gunther sighs, trying to calm himself. "I doubt de lion vill vork vith you." he states in a more mild tone. "More den likely she vill refuse to vork and if you push her...den you vill have another "accident" vith your trainer. Vhy don't you let me buy her from you? I know dat is not vat you had in mind, but I tink everyvon vould be happier dat vay."
At the meeting: Feeling no particular pull for either side, Gunther sits and listens as each group explains why they need help.
Bart is taken aback by Gunter's critisim "Well if you do not work with the cats, I may have to sell them to you, but I wish you would reconsider." Bart rubs his stubbled face before answering "Delila is worth 1500 gp. Her two cubs are the real value and I have offers already. The cubs are worth 10,000 gps each. I will not need the lions rolling cages those four I could part with for 2000 gp."
---------------------
At Dinner:
Sturtevant waves at the wood elves to continute and Herterona gives them a cross look that they shrink from.
K'Nara finallly remember the name of one of the elves, Dellintu, just before he start to speak.
"It was horrible sirs and ladies. Nickoli the red walked up and demanded all of the magic items from those that lived in and near the Tower of Saryd. The first killed were Rainara and Rethus. Nickoli hung their bodies from the top of the tower to bleed out. Out of respect for the Emerald Talons, we attempted to drive Nickoli out, but he changed into a dragon and burned and stompped many score. While Nickoli was scattering the elves, several of us stole into the tower and took what magic from your last conquested that we could carry and went to seek you out. There were 14 of us to start. We headed into hiding and watched. Nickoli was ranting about needing tribute and left with all the bulky items we could not take before flying off. We checked the tower and found nothing else missing. The elves started to return and bury the dead and Parnoth came. Parnoth was very mad that there was a dragon in his territory and took his rage out on us. Many were gassed, before he left." Another elf starts speaking as the first is too upset to coninue "There was only minor damage to the tower when Nickoli landed on the top."
The elves start to take off various magic items and place them on the table "These were all we could save and they saved our lives on the trip here. We were attacked by three wizards and they killed 11 of us."
Items placed on the table:
+2 throwing dagger Ring of sustenance Clear spindle Ion stone - sustenance lavender ion stone - absorbs spells 3 levels left to absorb boots of elvenkind Dagger of venom (2)+2 rings of pro +2 morning star (6) +1 rings of pro (3) elemental gems (1 each earth, water, fire) Ring of the ram +3 buckler Haste potion rage potion
The older wizard, Oxford, exclaims "By Domi, what is going on in the land."
"I feel for you losses, Dragons. Unfortunately, I do not have as much detail to give. I was in Plateau city to pick up new students. One Wizard Teleported to me in distress, as he was outside the Star Mage Tower when it was lost. We suspect an inside job. There have been several attempt to take the tower back and all have failed, at great cost. I am heading south to the see what I can do in the morning as I have to get my charges moving. I hope they left the school intact. Sturdevant suggested that I ask you, the Emerald Dragons to help and escort me back. It is a 2 week hard journey if we push hard."
Sturdevant takes out a leather pouch and pours it on the white tablecloth and bright rubies cascade over the cloth. "The Platinum dragons left this as your share for assisting them."
(1) 10000 gp gem (5) 5000 gp gems (20) 1000 gp gems (60) 500 gp gems (100) 100 gp gems (200) 50 gp gems

Ooc: Please send me the updated character sheet by midnight tomorrow. Jan I still need your character for a first run review.
Milo Thursday March 8th, 2007 11:26:39 PM
Milo trudges along behind the group most of the day... nearly bored to tears... on the way to dinner however, the sudden kiss from Olana seems to have an electrifying effect on the halfling, whose eyes sparkle as they immediately show signs of life. A smile splays quickly across Milo's face and he turns to face Olana, whispering, "Only if I get to help love." With a wink and a nod, Milo takes Olana by the arm, leading her the rest of the way to dinner, a sudden spring in his step, as his day immediately became brighter.
At dinner, Milo is attentive to the problems at hand. "How can we possibly be in two places at once. As mom always said, it is no use cleaning up other people's problems, if your own house ain't in order. But I want to say that we deal with Mr. Oxford's problem first... cause it seems that is what heroes do... make sacrifices and stuff."
Falin Friday March 9th, 2007 1:10:52 AM
"Someone comes into our house and kills those that came to us for protection while we are being led around like a bunch of cattle and we are even debating which mission to take?"
Falin looks around the room. "Those people around the tower suffered twice because of our quest to become dragons. I think it would be the least we could do to go back and at least help them pull together."
Olana Friday March 9th, 2007 1:40:21 AM
Olana's face darkens as the news spills out. Herterona's annoyance at Olana's fellow wood elves gets noticed too, and so Olana feels obliged to give that jumped up pointy-eared strumpet the hard stare. This was terrible news. "I want to know what we're all doing, sitting here at this fine table while our home and those in our care have been destroyed," she says at one point. "Maybe this wizard should come with us. A bit of fresh air, out of the city."
((Welcome back, Jamie!))
Lian Friday March 9th, 2007 11:29:45 AM
Lian just shakes his head in disgust. "We should send word to Parnoth that we plan to be away. We SHOULD return to the tower first and see to the refugees and remaining staff and even have a service for the dead where we're are present. If Nikoli shows, then we'll deal with him. Or maybe Teleport there to save time."
Then the monk laughs outloud. "Brusse must be in a right tissy about the new temperary owner of the Tower. He seemed to get on well with Knara. How might he handle the Red?"
Then he gets serious again. "What of the stables? The surrounding forest? How did they fair?"
Gunther Friday March 9th, 2007 1:00:16 PM
Listening patiently, Gunther turns to K'nara to get her read. Then he asks the Wizard. "Dere are several branches of de Star Mages Guild, aren't dere? Could you ask for help from dem if we can not help?"
K'Nara Friday March 9th, 2007 3:19:39 PM
K'Nara stares at Dellintu for a moment after he finishes speaking, idly recalling that he had survived the recent skirmishes with Nikolai's brothers, although his sister had not.
And now Rethus and Rainara were dead.
She had been planning, during the down time, to see if she couldn't tease the stoic Rethus into speaking more than two words at a time. Now there would be no such teasing...
The sound that issues from the tall, red-headed blade singer is at once terrible and heart-rending--it must be so, as it expresses her own anger and grief.
It starts as a low rumble in her chest and builds in intensity and volume until it becomes a mighty, deafening roar that is sustained for a full ten seconds.
K'Nara pants heavily for a few moments, blinking her tear-filled hazel eyes for several moments. Turning a grim face back to Dellintu, she says in a stoney voice:
"Tell me that Caeryn was not among the casualties." Rather than it being a question, it's a desperate order. OOC: Caeryn is Ingrge's wife--she was residing within the tower at the time this crime would have taken place.
After she gets an answer to that question, she grips Dellintu's shoulder.
"Wait, then...I must allow the Star Mage to let us know his plight." She then turns and listens as Oxford relates what has happened at the Star Mages' Tower.
The leader of the newly-christened Emerald Dragons stands silently as the mage makes his request. Then she turns to face her fellow Dragons.
"Oxford needs protection, this is clear. I believe we should take Dellintu and the others with us, escort the mage and his students to where they need to go--and then hunt down Nikolai and make him pay for his crimes." K'Nara says in a level voice. "Do you agree? Or are there any counter-proposals..?"
Ingrge Friday March 9th, 2007 4:42:23 PM
(OOC: Caeryn, was along with Folbre at the Giggling Ghost celebration as was posted on that board, so should not have been there but she is going to be SUPER PISSED off when she gets back there.
Donna, I neer recieved any response in character or out from Ingrge short visit to you and the delivery.)
Ingrge is deep in thought when K'nara lets loose and then starts talking about his wife, whom he had just seen at the Giggling Ghost. Bolting up alertly, he looks straight at Dellintu. "WHEN did these attacks occur?" How long ago?
After Dellinu answers that his wife as far as he knows, is fine, Ingrge sits back down and then asks Oxford a quick question. How long of a trip would it be to where you need to go from Emerald City? If no more than the already suggested 2 week journey, Ingrge will suggest that they used the ring to teleport them all to the Tower and take care of sttling things down a bit and then set off with the mage.
Gunther Friday March 9th, 2007 9:11:18 PM
The warrior places a hand on the distraught K'nara. When she advises escorting the Wizard and his wards, he nods. "Couldn't ve just use de teleport ring? 2 veeks is a long time to let Nikoli run free."
Lian Saturday March 10th, 2007 7:28:21 AM
"We really should handle the situation with the Tower sooner rather then later. The refugees will be suffering. Yet again they will be relocating. Yet again a dragon plagues them! Now, ironically, it will be Emerald Dragons who rescue them! I want to go Knara. Now." For the first time, the hand of Domi seems to know his role, know his place and know himself as a Dragon.
Dm Jim: What to Do? Saturday March 10th, 2007 10:20:37 AM
Dellintu and the other two elves are dully cowed "We tried our best. We are sorry that we failed you. We helped scatter the elves and then took what we could before Nickoli came back. What would you have had us done? So we can learn for next time."
Dellintu paused for a few moments "If you truely want use to travel with you, we will do our best not to fail you again. We would be honored to learn from the Emerald Dragons."
Dellintu looks to Ingrge "Good sire, Your wife, the good mistress Caeryn, was not at the Tower during the attack. I can only hope that she is safe wherever she might be. To answer your other question, the attack happened eight days ago."
Dellintu then looks at Lian "Master, the dead were already being buried when we left to seek you out. I am sure it is complete by now. You are also correct that some of the elves did talk of striking out on their own, but I am sure most will stay."
Oxford speaks up at this point "What tragedy. I more the loss of your friends, but I worry about my own also. I have received word that we will not be receiving aid from the other Star Mage Guilds as there seems to be some internal problems. I fear that this may not be an isolated incident. Tomorrow I must start traveling with my charges. I am open to your suggestions Ingrge."
Sturdevant watches the reactions of the Emerald Dragons but says nothing. Herterona is watching Sturdevant.

Dm JimF - Supplimental - Missing question is answered Saturday March 10th, 2007 5:45:52 PM
Ingrge remembers the second woods elf as he speaks to Lian, Cinaflon, a wizard of some minor skill. Cinaflon begins "Master Lian the stables were burned to the ground by Nickoli. We were able to save all the horses and livestock from the fire. One horse, your Merlot, did not survive the strain. Merlot was an old horse. I am sorry. We took 14 horses with us to travel to Plateau City. Several of the horses were killed when the wizards attacked us, along with our brethren, but more horses that elves survived. We scattered the horses just in case Nickoli came back, he did not, but Parnoth did. Our tactic worked well for the hoses, less well for the elves."
OOC: Next week I hope to start posting at lunch time once again. Please plan accordingly.
Lian Sunday March 11th, 2007 6:03:25 AM
Lian stands from his seat and starts pacing upon hearing of Merlot's death. Tears begin to flow freely as Lian leaves the room. Within minutes, there are horrible 'thudding' sounds from the hall, which grow into a thick moist thudding shortly thereafter.
Highlight to display spoiler: {Anyone entering the hall sees a very upset elf beating his knuckles bloody with grief. Holes in walls and furniture tell the story.}
Falin Sunday March 11th, 2007 8:18:01 AM
Shaking his head with disbelief he watches Lian leave. Upon hearing the thuds he rises and goes to the hall. When Lians hands become bloody he approaches. "Lian, this is doing no good. The pain that you feel," Falin taps him on the chest, "Take that pain and forge it into a strength. We will need that strength when we decide how to proceed. And we will certainly need it when we go against Nickoli."
Milo Monday March 12th, 2007 12:23:27 AM
Milo sits stunned by the combined reactions of his dearest friends. The halfling doesn't know what to do, "I wonder... no... it is foolish." Milo sits with a look of grasping, "We could split the group. Olana and I could hunt down Nikolai, and then summon the rest of you back when we find him. It is just a thought... perhaps a foolish one at that." Milo grows silent again.

"I am with Milo." says the monk walking back into the room. "I think its a great idea." His hands glow for a moment and the wounds seal up as he whipes off the blood.
K'Nara Monday March 12th, 2007 12:50:27 PM
K'Nara frowns thoughtfully, first turning to the elves that made it here.
"You did what you could," she assures them, "Nobody is blaming you for anything. That any of you survived is a miracle that I thank the gods of the Wold for." Then she wraps a finger around a curl of chestnut hair that has escaped her snood and tugs at it as she continues to contemplate.
"My friends," she admits, "I am of the mind to go after Nikolai for what he's done--but I have to concede that the matter that is before the Star Guild is a very important one...one that can--and just may--effect the Wold in its entirety. We have just been inducted into the Dragon Consortium, where its members have already told us that there will be times that we have to make decisions that go beyond our little corner of the Wold...and this is such a time." K'Nara sighs.
"I believe that it's in the Wold's best interest to aid the Star Mage and his students." she says firmly. "We can, indeed, use the teleport ring to shorten our time abroad and get back to Nikolai that much faster. This would be the best course for us--in my opinion. How does this sound to you?"
Dm Jim: Decisions? Monday March 12th, 2007 1:05:03 PM
Lian takes the news that his horse Merlot has died rather badly. All three wood elves shudder with each crash in the hallway. Herterona looks aghast at the racket, but is calmed by an easy look from Sturdevant.
Milo suggests splitting the group, but also questions its wisdom.
K'Nara wants to go an investigate the happenings at the Star Mage Guild, but asks for the Dragons input.
Once Lian returns, the three wood elves and Herterona and Sturdevant watch the interplay among the new Dragons.
Sturdevant waves to one of the butlers and points to the hallway and he runs off.
Sturdevant looks at Lian "Your passion is understandable, but as Milo says, you should channel it into your cause. Beware that anger is the enemy and can be used against you, in combat and in politics."

Olana Monday March 12th, 2007 3:05:14 PM
Face still like thunder - "I still think we need to go back home and at the very least, make sure the place and the refugees are secure - establish some kind of plan of action, just in case the dragon returns. "There's also a question of morale. How does it look to those dependant on us, when we ignore them and waltz off in the opposite direction?"
Her eyes move to that of the wizard who needs escorting. "Would you mind reiterating why you're in such a hurry?" she asks Oxford, "and tell us whether or not it's feasible you could make a detour with us?"
To Milo, she whispers "Split up? You know I suspect that thing will have learned from it's mistakes, and won't be the same beast we encountered before."
((OOC - Jim, sorry it's taking so long. Got a hiccup with my Plat module, hopefully to be resolved shortly. I'll get there.))
Ingrge Monday March 12th, 2007 7:26:22 PM
Looking around at his family as they all get back together, Ingrge nods at each person's comments.
Standing up he looks at each dragon in the eys and then addresses them.
"Unless absolutely necessary and we know it is the only way, we should not split up, at least not for now. I think we should make plans with the ones who are going to add on to our tower and get them started, which will increase the numbers of defenders, letting them know of course of the danger and then we should pop us all over to the tower and settle things down there. Then we should teleport to somewhere we know along the route to the star mage tower (where is it anyway?) and then continue our journey from there. That way we get to take care of both things in a way.
Milo Monday March 12th, 2007 8:18:04 PM
Shrugging, "You're probably right Olana. Heck... I'm not sure that it isn't a good idea to simply teleport back like Ingrge says and deal with the homefront before moving on to deal with the wizard's problem."
Gunther Monday March 12th, 2007 10:45:12 PM
The warrior looks hard at the mage. "You still haven't told us vhat dis inside job is. Who is suspected? Vhat have de oders tried. Ve need more information."
Aeralia Monday March 12th, 2007 11:53:49 PM
The sorceress looks between the elves and the wizard. "As troubling as the attack at the Tower is, the Star Tower's problems would seem more pressing, as it remains unresolved. Nickoli's attack has been carried out, and as horrible a visit Parnoth's was, it alone should serve to deter the red from further aggressions."
Nodding to Ingrge's suggestions. "However, with teleportation abilities, it might be wise to make a detour to the Tower of Sayrd, where we can oversee matters for a day or two. In the mean time," looking towards Ingrge, "you can scry, yes? A suitable teleportation location a safe distance from the Tower could be located and save us much of the trouble of road travel."
Hooking a few loose strands of midnight black hair behind her ear, the young sorceress awaits other suggestions and the final decision of their actions.
Falin Tuesday March 13th, 2007 7:50:33 AM
"I am more concerned for those surviving the attack than the tower itself. I think we should at least do something for them. They came to us for protection."
Dm Jim: More Debate Tuesday March 13th, 2007 1:24:40 PM
Noises are heard in the hall way and furniture is moved around. It sounds like the hose staff is cleaning up Lian mess.
The group still ponders how to handle multiple priorities with several group members giving conflicting advice.
--------------------
ooc: I am seaching for the city name on the map of the Wold, so at this point I can not tell you its exact location.
-------------------
An armed and armored middle aged human enters the room and approaches Oxford. "There are some details you must attend to prior to our departure."
Oxford pushes back from the table with the help of the armored man. It appears that the floating disk is not that maneuverable. "Please excuse me, but I have several things to attend to before we leave in the morning. We can be reached at the Golden Griffin Inn. We are not leaviing until after breakfast. The kids need a good meal before we hit the road. I truely hope you can travel with us, if not maybe you can meet us on the road. Come have breakfast with us in the morning and we can discuss our route. If this is our parting, I wish you all the best with your affairs. Good evening Ladies and gentlemen." Oxford bows his head to the Dragons and the High Lord Mayor.
Sturdevant and Herterona each rise and give heartfelt farewells to Oxford and the armored man that they call Sutton.
Oxford and the armored man leave the dinning hall, slowly.

Lian Tuesday March 13th, 2007 2:16:08 PM

Milo Tuesday March 13th, 2007 8:29:46 PM
"Well chief..." Looking to K'nara, "I think everyone has had a say... What's it gonna be? We all trust your ability to make a sound decision... and I think that is what we need now." Milo smiles sagely... maybe a little too sagely for the roguish halfling.
Ingrge Tuesday March 13th, 2007 9:34:55 PM
Having said his piece, The elder elf sits back down and starts thinking, which as all the other Emeralds know, can be a bad thing.

Gunther Wednesday March 14th, 2007 10:54:14 AM
Gunther nods at Milo. Whatever decision K'nara makes, he is sure it will be the right one. In the meantime, the cat trainer's thoughts float to the circus...and the dire lion he will soon be picking up.
Lian Wednesday March 14th, 2007 11:47:14 AM
The monk looks at Knara for direction.
Dm Jim: Waiting for a Decision Wednesday March 14th, 2007 1:56:42 PM
The Dragons voice their opinions in word or thoughts, but all seem to be waiting for someone to make an actual decision.
Sturdevant finishes his tea and put his cup down "I am sure you will be able to sort out your priorities. Good luck and keep me posted. Just remember that decisions made by committee are never fast and may not be better that those of an individual of passion that take the leadship mantle a runs with it. Enjoy your tea and after dinner cakes. Just blow out the candles when you leave. Jackson will escort you out."
Sturdevant indicated the butler in the corner of the room as Jackson. Sturdevant and Herterona rise and bid goodnight to each Dragon in turn.
Sturdevant mentions to each as part of his goodnight "Any information you discover as to the reason behind either of these nasty affairs may lead us to a greater knowledge of any shadow conspiracy."
Herterona add "The carriages are at your disposal to take you back to your inn. Good luck and good hunting."

K'Nara Wednesday March 14th, 2007 3:39:58 PM
K'Nara noticed that Ingrge was thinking.
"My friend," she said to the ruminating elf, "If you could share your thoughts, it may help me in deciding what we will be doing."
Ingrge Wednesday March 14th, 2007 6:51:26 PM
K'nara asking what he is thinking about startles Ingrge for a moment and then he llos up. Well I already mentioned my thoughts on how we should proceed. I feel we should teleport all of us, the star mage and students as well and check to make sure things at the tower are at least settled for now and get the stone brothers working on the building and then teleoprt us all again to a point closer to where the star guild is located.
As for what I was currenlty thinking about, well I was thinking about Caeryn, and Folbre. And then I was thinking about sending a letter to parnoth demanding reparations for the damage he has done and allowed to be done to our home and belongings while under the "protection" Of his kingship.
Dm Jim Supplimental Wednesday March 14th, 2007 7:57:50 PM
The three wood elves sit in the growing dark of the dinning hall, seemingly waiting for direction from the Emerald Dragons.
Dellintu timidly speaks up "If we are to accompany the Emerald Dragons, can we carry any of the magic items we rescued from Nickoli. They proved to help us survive our journey to Plateau City and may make us more effective in the service of the Emerald Dragon. We await your decision." Dellintu bow his head and so do the other two wood elves.
Falin Wednesday March 14th, 2007 9:48:33 PM
"I like Ingrge's suggestion," Falin says. "Especially the part about the letter to Parnoth." Falin finishes his statement with a smile on his face.
Aeralia Thursday March 15th, 2007 1:09:56 AM
Aeralia nods with Ingrges words again, awaiting K'Nara's final decision.
K'Nara Thursday March 15th, 2007 2:27:04 AM
"The attack on our people and our home will not go unanswered...but the problem faced by Oxford of the Star Mage Guild is one that threatens the Wold as a whole." K'Nara said. "We will accompany Oxford and his students to where they need to go. Once they are safe, we will go back to the tower and aid in whatever way our village needs...and then go hunt down Nikolai and get his liver...on a stick. A big, sharp, pointy stick."
Milo Thursday March 15th, 2007 9:27:25 AM
"Done!" Milo claps his hand together...a look of grim determination on his face. "When do we leave again?"
Lian Thursday March 15th, 2007 12:43:01 PM
"Okay, sounds good."
Dm Jim: Resolution! Thursday March 15th, 2007 1:37:59 PM
With Milo's clap the butler comes out of the shadows while trying to stifle a yawn. The Bulter blows out half of the candle and starts to escort out the Emerald Dragons at the doorway to the dining hall the bulter ring a small silver bell and several servants come in and start to clear out the dishes.
THe butler takes the group to the carriages and the group is taken back to the Red Wymm Inn. Just before leaving Dellintu comments "We are staying at a local tavern in the Circus quarter. Where and when do you want us to meet up with you?"
The clop of horseshoes on cobble stones echos on the way back to the inn as the Emeralds think of things to come.
------------------------------
In the morning the group packs up early and gets directions over to the Golden Griffin, now that they have decided to assist Oxford and his brood.
Outside the Golden Griffin, in fact right under the sign with hanging over the front door, are two large covered wagons and one small carriage. Sutton is packing feverishly and checking stores off of a list. Each wagon is pulled by a team of four horses. The carriage has a two horse team. The carriage looks like it has ben modified to carry Oxford and his floating disk. Sutton sees the Dragons and motions to the fron door of the inn with his head "Oxford is inside, he is just finishing up with the wizards."
Once inside the inn, the group sees Oxford organizing at least a dozen young Wizards of various ages and races but all of late teenage maturity. The young wizards are dressed in different garb, as some seem to have come from money and some not. Ingrge arcane sight can see magical auras on at least half of the young wizards as they have either been casing spells on themselves or have magic items.
Oxford does not spy the group right away, as he floats on his disk directing the student, but notices several of the students gawking at the Emerald Dragons "Oh, there you are. I am so glad you decided to come. We should be leaving in a half an hour. Do you have a wagon or horses?"
------------------------
ooc: DM Jim: Jan, I am still waiting for your character. Olana can not participate in combat until I recieve the character sheet. All of Olana's saves will fail as well.
Please note that I stated that you can not go to the catacombs once you leave Plateau City. Now if you are already there before we leave, that is fine.
Gunther Friday March 16th, 2007 10:37:01 AM
Gunther looks over at the throng of students and shakes his head. He walks over to Ingrge. "Two veeks of travel is too long. Do you have a vay of teleporting dese people? "
Lian Friday March 16th, 2007 11:16:49 AM
The monk looks the building and is not impressed.
Upon seeing the students and wagons, Lian says under his breath, "These are wizards. Can't they teleport or shift or something? I know the students are just that but that teachers are skilled I assume?" The question is not meant as an insult.
Falin Friday March 16th, 2007 12:53:12 PM
"I would have to take your guys word on it. I am not skilled in the way of magiks." Looking over the group of people Falin says, "It will be difficult to watch everyone. Can those that are traveling assist us in any way if things happen?"
K'Nara Friday March 16th, 2007 3:05:54 PM
K'Nara agrees to have the group meet Oxford in the morning.
However, once the group is back at their quarters in the Red Wyrm Inn, she produces the Mass Teleport ring.
"We're going to check the conditions at the Tower." she says. "We can't stay there--again, those students and the Star Mage Guild have the potential to shape Wold-wide events, so they definitely need our help...but we need to see how things are at the Tower, too. We will remain at the Tower for two hours to see what happened and let Caeryn and the others know we'll be back, then get back here to help out Oxford."
So saying, K'Nara puts the Mass Teleport ring on, and then--after the required time--hands it to another of the Emerald Dragons.
Dm Jim: Partings Friday March 16th, 2007 7:03:00 PM
OOC: K'Nara, the group is already at the Golden Griffin and interacting with Oxford and the Students. You may teleport from there.
Four posters in 30 hours is not a good sign.
------------------------------
Falin and Lian question why the wizard, even the students can not just teleport where they need to go. Oxford chuckles "My good man, not everyone has the talents or resources of the Emerald Dragons. These young one hear are far from being able to teleport, much less even dimention door. They have just started their studies, although some have shown amazing skills. Do not worry about having to watch the students, that is my job and I have Sutton to help me. The student are very well behaved as this is viewed as a high honor to study at one of the Star Mage Guild Schools. It looks real good when applying for ones first real job."
Oxford overhears Gunther question Ingrge "Master Ingrge, if you can teleport all of us that would be wonderful. We will have to sell the wagons and supplies and such, but that should not take more than a day or two. If you can teleport all of us, we will have to make a few stops on the way to pick up a few more (7) choice students. They were on the road back and are already packed and ready." Oxford looks at Ingrge with hope in his eyes.
When K'Nara mentions going back to the Tower of Sayrd, Oxford Chimes in one more time "We can travel on and you can meet us in the town of Luzon, I am sure you have heard of it. Luzon is our first schedule stop as we are attempting to push hard."
K'Nara inspect the rings and is unsure if they will work on non bipedal like Gunther's cat.
--------------------------
ooc: All of the Emerald Dragons can teleport back to the Tower of Sayrd with no problems, but Gunther's cat can not make the trip.
-------------------------
Each Dragon that wants to make the trip back to the Tower of Sayrd put on the ring of teleportation for a minute and then the group settles in a circle and all of the dissapear with a "pop" and appear 20 yards in front of the Tower of Sayrd.
The scene has changed since the groups last visit.
There is damage to the battlements on the top of the tower. Only closer inspection can tell how bad. In fact, there is a block that had fallen off and is embedded in the earth to the right of the front door.
There seems to be a new cemetery off by the edge of the woods and there are way too many graves (87).
The stables have burned to the ground and the horses are in a makeshift corral.
There are several dragon prints of two different sizes right in front of the Emeralds.
There are several burn patches in the trees and an area where the trees just seem to die, and not by fire.
It take a few moments for the elves to notice the Dragons, but they quickly run up. The Dragons are surrounded and peppered with questions "It was terrible." "No warning" We are so sorry" Did Dellintu find you?" "We are glad to have you back" "First one dragon and then a second"
Off in the distance there is a huge minotaur chopping wood. There are several elves watching from what appears to be a safe distance.
-------------------------------------------
OOC: THis does not count as leaving Plateau City for the Catacombs, as I am assuming you will be returning.
Jan, still no character sheet. Is there a problem???
Lian Friday March 16th, 2007 7:56:20 PM
Raising an eyebrow and cocking his head, the monk looks at the man speaking, walks up to him slowly and says, "Should I repeat what I said more clearly? I SAID 'these ARE just students but the teachers should have some ability'. I did assume they were unable to teleport, if they were, I'd wonder why they were students. As for resources, we haven't really even got that figured out yet 'My Good Man'." He emphasizes the last three words clearly.

To Oxford, she answers his question, "I don't have any sort of mount. Will travel be quick, and a horse needed?"
The young sorceress will spend any remaining time sorting through her gear off to one side, and chatting quietly with her companion Terrin, would seemingly comes out of nowhere to join the sorceress.
They seem to discuss the recent events in the beautiful girl's life, Terrin offering small bits of praise and acknowledgement when appropriate. He does hint at the sorceress to behave herself, and take care in any dangerous situations.

Falin Friday March 16th, 2007 11:18:27 PM
Falin begins moving through the elves. Trying to listen to each one while looking over those who are injured, holding hands, giving hugs. What can you say to someone who has gone through troubles such as these?
Looking back towards the tower Falin just shakes his head in disbelief.
He then stands and quickly scans the crowds. Have the others from the battle made it back yet? If so he will seek them out to see how their travels fared. And to see if they can help gather the people and begin to give some basic training in fighting.
"Lian," Falin yells over to his friend, "Have you seen any of those we trained for the battle with the dragon?"
Lian Saturday March 17th, 2007 3:16:26 AM
"I was of the assumption none survived beyond one or two. But no, I haven't seen any."
----------------------
DM Jim: Nickoli killed scores of elves and Parnoth less so, hence 87 dead. There were over 1800 elves to start. There seems to be at least 1500 left as some did not return.
14 elves traveled to find the Emerald Dragons, but only 3 made it to Plateau City.
Gunther Saturday March 17th, 2007 10:08:51 PM
The warrior looks around, disgusted. The only thing that makes him feel better is the knowledge that very soon he will hunt that stupid red down and mount his head on the Tower wall. And then there was Parnoth...that would take more time... Heading off, Gunther checks on the big cat training area to see how it has faired. More than a little frustrated at the way things are, Gunther kicks the dirt. Right now they really need to be taking care of things at the Tower, but of course, they are needed somewhere else. Still, the thought of his new kitty cheers him a little.
Ingrge Saturday March 17th, 2007 11:03:14 PM
Turning to Oxford, Ingrge answers him. "Yes given a bit of time to study a few spells, I could transport all of us given a good visualization of the target area. I would have to make several trips but it could be done in less than an hour."
Joining k'nara for the journey to the Tower Ingrge is annoyed by what he sees and begins to grumble a bit and then steps aside from everyone and seems to be staring intently at his new communication ring. Moments later he nods and then begins to softly speak.
"Valdor, Ingrge Nightseer here. Just thought you might want to be made aware that Nickoli, the red dragon you let go, has decided that the New Elenna is a nice place. He paid our tower a visit during the ceremony, We currently have to go save the Star Mage Tower, as it has somehow been over run, but will attend to your red friend when we return."
As he sees that things are being taken care of the best as they can Ingrge then calls Kronnan over to him and explains that the stone brothers will soon be arriving to start construction but meanwhile we are going to add a bit of safety to the tower so that perhaps noone will see what is going on anyway.
Asking K'nara for the little scry protector, He takes it inside of the tower and gives it its first instructions; to block any viewing, spying or scrying of as much of the area around the tower and the tower itself allowing only Valdor DragonStone, Mayor Sturtevant or myself access to viewing the area in question.
Valdor Saturday March 17th, 2007 11:32:54 PM
Valdor replies to Ingrge,"He's no friend of mine. I wouldn't kill even a red dragon that was defenseless. What do you mean, 'a visit'?"
Lian Sunday March 18th, 2007 11:52:11 AM
The monk stands by Knara and waits for command.
K'Nara Sunday March 18th, 2007 2:18:42 PM
(OOC: the elves would have been teleported back to Madryn with the group. K'Nara will be leaving two of them here in the village; Dellintu can return with the Dragons when they go back.)
K'Nara's face is utterly grim. She squeezes her eyes shut and then opens them with a shake of her head.
"Let's inspect Madryn." she says. "See if anyone needs help and do what we can. After we've done that, we can continue helping Oxford until he and his students get to where they need to go."
Attention Players! Sunday March 18th, 2007 2:28:10 PM

Ingrge (conversational post) Sunday March 18th, 2007 6:00:32 PM
still away from the group, Ingrge continues his conversation via the ring.
By friend, I meant the red dragon you let go without killing when we were dealing with Lathiese. By visit he killed a bunch of elves under our protection as well as our household managers, tore up the tower and looted the place. In any case I was just informing you that your kind deed in letting him live seems not to have transferred to the beast. In any case when we return from freeing the StarMage guild tower we will put an end to him.
Milo Monday March 19th, 2007 12:40:02 AM
Moving with purpose, Milo assists with the inspection, allowing his notable skills of detection to make a mental checklist of all the damages. He then moves with purpose to assist any who might require further assistance... or bring them to the attention of those who can assist them, if he is unable.
Olana Monday March 19th, 2007 12:43:26 AM
Olana is glad the group has decided to take a look back home first before they go galavanting off. On reaching the tower, or what's left of it, what she sees upsets her a great deal.
She spends what time she has available asking the surviving elves if they have some kind of action plan if any of these blasted dragons return, whether or not they have supplies, etc etc.
If there are problems foreseen, she'll approach their new friend the minotaur and ask if he'll be able to help in some way.
Dragons.... and what had they themselves just done? Called themselves the very same thing. Signed 'the book' and everything. Oh irony.
((Jim! Shouldn't be too long now. ))

----------------------------------------
Oxford raises an eyebrow at Lian "Have you seen how many students there are? I can not teleport them all and we have several stops to make to pick up other students for this years class. It is much more effecient to travel by horse. That is unless you can help us teleport in addition to Ingrge?"
Oxford give a sigh of relief hen Ingrge offers help "When you come back we can discuss the teleporting arrangements. I can take two spells and with one of the take you with me to the next destination. Good luck at your Tower."
Several of the well dress students approach Aeralia "What spells can you do? Can you show us some? Please." Oxford scolds the students softly "Please do not bother Miss Aeralia as she is very busy. And yes we will provide horses for those that need them." Oxford give a quick wink to the sorcereress, and a quick aside to keep the students from her only if she wishes it.
---------------------------
Gunther upon reaching the tower goes and checks the big cat training area with several elves in tow and they ask "Where is your cat Gunther?"
----------------------
ooc: Your cat did not teleport with Gunther.
----------------------
Ingrge informs Valdor that his genorosity was not repaid by Nickoli.
Ingrge explains the current situation to Kronnon and he responds "Master Ingrge, I will expect the stone builders guild and help them in any way I can."
Ingrge also sets up the little furry anti-scrying fey creatures and all it says is "Piece of cake." and it heads into the Tower.
Several of the elves ask K'Nara "Mistress, what will you have us do in your absence and how long will you be gone?"
To Olana several elves chorus "If the dragons return, we will be forced to flee, as we have no effective defense."
Milo attempts to be as helpful as possible.
Olana Monday March 19th, 2007 3:43:13 PM
Olana listens grimly to the elves and then says - "I think it's time to set up a few emergency, hidden boltholes - food, weapons caches, whatever the forest will allow." She nods towards Culverwood. "It'll be safer here once the fortifications have been done, but until then... We're never going to be here all the time, so it's important to have a temporary escape plan. Use the forest as only the elves of Culverwood can. See the minotaur over there? See if he can help. That's Kronnon, don't be afraid, he's with us now.
K'Nara Monday March 19th, 2007 3:43:19 PM
K'Nara addresses the survivors of Nikolai's visit.
"If the red dragon--or Parnoth--returns, you are to use your best judgement whatever the situation may be." the blade singer says firmly. "Since Nikolai the Red has taken all there is to take from the tower, there is no reason to believe he'll be back. We--" she nods to the other Emerald Dragons in the group, "--have been requested to aid someone in need, and have promised to do so. We will return as soon as we've given our help. I'm anticipating that will be in two to three weeks. Until then--I have faith that you will do your best."
Once everything is settled within Madryn, K'Nara informs Dellintu that he will be accompanying the Emeralds on their mission, while his two companions will stay in the village.
Then she uses the Mass Teleport ring on everyone returning to Plateau City.
--------------------------
Dm Jim: The ring of Mass Teleport is usable once per day. You have to wait until tomorrow or fina another way to return - see Ingrge.
Lian Monday March 19th, 2007 4:40:19 PM
The command is given. Knara has spoke and Lian will obey. Though, given half the chance, he would go to the Tower.
Searching is not Lian's thing. He avoids that particular task with great effect.
Gunther Monday March 19th, 2007 4:59:00 PM
The warrior sighs at the elves questions. "She couldn't come vith me dis time. But I vill fix dat very soon." He carefully inspects the facility before heading back to K'nara. He speaks in low tones to her, making sure the elves do not overhear. "K'nara, I don't like leaving dese people defenseless for so long. Perhaps ve should just travel to de Tower by ourselves. Eider dat or ve should use de ring as vell as any oder needed spells so dat ve can get dere sooner." The warrior bows his head. "Vhatever you decide."
Milo Monday March 19th, 2007 8:22:33 PM
Milo sticks close by, though he begins to consider the idea that he may need to spend some time roaming the countryside here looking for suitable locations where people and provisions may easily be hidden on short notice.
Ingrge Monday March 19th, 2007 9:25:56 PM
Kronnan, I will send plans and some materials with to you here as soon as I can and access to the funds you will need to oversee the work that will be done. Meanwhile let's see what we you and the elves can do about coming up with some sort of evacuation and safety plan should the need arise before we are back here in force.
Falin - Tower Monday March 19th, 2007 10:51:14 PM
Falin breathes a little easier when he is told that the elves from the war had not yet returned from their travels home.
Falin will help where needed until summoned to return home.
Aeralia Tuesday March 20th, 2007 12:02:10 AM
"Oh, its quite alright, Master Oxford," Aeralia says, standing at the wizards approach. Terrin stands as well, silently. "We were just finishing up, weren't we," she continues, giving Terrin a glance, who answers with a nod. "We'll catch up again later, friend," as she turns her gaze back to the wizard teacher. Terrin quickly bows, and strides away, seeming to disappear after slipping behind a tree some short distance off.
"And the use of a horse would be most appreciated, Master Oxford," the young woman says, smiling sweetly to the crippled magician, before turning her attention to his students.
"Alright then, spells, is it?" Aeralia ponders, looking over the well dressed students gathered around. "Afraid theres nothing really flashy or exciting that I'd be able to show you," she says, continuing to consider what she could actually show. She really wasn't up for trying to scare or impress them with a grand illusion, and she wasn't certain that Oxford would like her tampering with the minds and will of his students before they even got to their school.
"What sort of spells are you all working on?" Aeralia questions, really not knowing what caliber of wizardry entry level students in the Star Mage Guild would possess. She briefly looks over the remainder of the students, even those not gathered before her, trying to determine what walk of life they all might be from.
Lian Tuesday March 20th, 2007 12:06:10 PM
"Wizards." He shakes his head.
K'Nara Tuesday March 20th, 2007 1:02:07 PM
OOC: if the ring is usable only once per day, sorry, my bad.
K'Nara amends her orders: the party will spend the night with the villagers (if the Tower is too badly damaged, they will simply camp nearby), then use the ring to return to Plateau City for Gunther's cat and go meet up with Oxford and the students on the road.
Milo Tuesday March 20th, 2007 10:39:22 PM
Milo nods at K'nara's decision, turning to Olana, "Perhaps before dark we can find a couple of suitable hiding places for our merry band of tower refugees to take shelter in, should either dragon return while we are away." Milo sets out in search of said hiding places that may be nearby.
Ingrge Tuesday March 20th, 2007 11:11:30 PM
Milo can hear Ingrge's mumbled response to his comment about the return of either dragon.
"Oh please let one of them return while we're here, for this time I will dine on dragon flesh, hopefully the greener the better."
Dm Jim: On the Road Wednesday March 21st, 2007 12:07:48 AM
Ooc: Right now the Ring of Mass Teleport is a once per day usage. We are attempting to define the magic item, so it usage may go up to two or three times per day once it is all sorted out.
Nothing is stopping the group from teleporting themselves back using conventional means.
Please list spells from now on.
----------------------
Lian seems almost bored with Oxford and the Students, but Aeralia seems to flourish. The more well to do students all circle her and continue to ask her to do spells. The less well off students are much more reserved as they do not seem to know their place yet. The students relate to Aeralia that they are learning cantrips and defensive first level spells and they gladly demonstrate for the Sorceress and beg for her to show them higher level spells.
Sutton ties the panther to the back of one of the wagons and gets scratched for his efforts. The cat is none too pleased, even though Sutton tried to be gentle it is not his animal of expertise.
Herterona stops by to see off Lian, Oxford and Aeralia. "Good luck and travel fast. The High Lord Mayor wants the Dragons to stop by the Grey Elven Seerer, Sagtome, to have your futures read." Herterona hands over a scroll and box to Aeralia "Please give these to Sagtome, and it will smooth things over and speed things along. Sagetome lives in a warren about one mile off the road out of Luzon." The scroll is sealed with Sturdevant's seal.
--------------------------
The Tower of Sayrd is still habitable, but there is damage to the roof. The floors below are in good shape if not a bit dusty.
Ingrge starts to give instructions to Kronnen and he takes a few notes.
Milo spends time in Culverwood and looks for hideouts.
The group from the Tower of Sayrd teleports themselves back to the Golden Griffin the next morning. Oxford has left word for the Emerald Dragons to meet him and the Students in the town of Luzon. Oxford will be leaving Luzon by wagon after another healthy breakfast.
Oxford left with Lian and Aerelia and the fawning students. The three wood elves, lead by Dellintu also accompany the group to Luzon. The group pushes hard and makes 30 miles on the road and stops in the farming community to pick up a raggedy girl of 15 years that seems heartbroken to be leaving her parents and her farm.
K'Nara Wednesday March 21st, 2007 1:33:33 PM
Although she could have sworn that the elves that had gotten to Plateau City had teleported back to Madryn with the majority of the group, K'Nara finds out that they did not. Oh, well.
K'Nara aids in whatever way she can to help the villagers, assuring them the the Emeralds will not be gone long...and then they will insure that no other such dragon visits will occur ever again.
Once their business in Madryn is finished (and the proper time period has passed), K'Nara once more uses the Mass Teleport ring.
Lian Wednesday March 21st, 2007 2:27:44 PM
First time 'alone' with Aeralia and these flashy magic upstarts are flirting. "M'lady must save her most powerful spells for any foes we may encounter in our journey. When there is down time, she can do as you ask if she wishes." He glares at the students and avoids looking at the sorceress.
Not needing food at this time, the monk stands prepared for travel. He seeks berries for use with his Goodberry spells.

Milo Wednesday March 21st, 2007 8:47:43 PM
Having little apparent luck in a single night of searching, Milo is quiet as they return to the Golden Griffin, and clearly ready to get on the road again.
Ingrge Wednesday March 21st, 2007 9:51:24 PM
Before leaving, Ingrge writes down some instructions for Kronnan and sends a message for the Stone Brothers (building dwarves) to come and begin work on the plans and directives that he has left with Kronnan, and gives Kronnan the access to the building funds to use as directed and as needed.
Gunther d20+16=29 Wednesday March 21st, 2007 10:23:09 PM
The cat trainer makes a very quick detour back to the circus to pick up his new kitties before he joins up with the caravan. On the way he rents out three horses to pull the cages. Grinning all the way back, the warrior practically trips over himself as he shows the cages to K'nara. "Look...new kitties. Isn't it great? But don't vorry, I von't let dem get in de vay. And just look at de little vons...aren't dey so cute?? I vould have taken dem back to de Tower, but I'm vorried dat von of de dragons vould attack again. And vith all dese people traveling...maybe I can even get some training done vill ve travel." Looking very much like a kid in the candy shop, Gunther retrieves Thaeri and gives her a big playful hug. "We've got a lot of work to do girl. This new kitty doesn't know much and she's got a lot to learn. Can you help me teach her how to be a good girl?" Gunther looks hopefully over at the panther, knowing that there might be some jealously or even anger.
