Round 11 - DM Donna Wednesday May 16th, 2007 1:16:02 AM DM OOC: Unfortunately for Winterglade, that big Black Blade has a few more pluses on it than Flat-top's usual weapons of choice--besides having a (ahem) "magically enhanced attitude" against Good Aligned characters.
Toros stands in shock as he suddenly realizes that Flat-top has apparently gone berserk!
Winterglade gives himself Full Cover thanks to his Tower shield!
The evil Black Sword is clearly trying to get Flat-top to kill Winterglade, screaming for the spellcaster's blood!
Brahmah uses this round to strip off the equipment from Vargas's still form...and that's really all he can do this round--besides make a Heal check that doesn't tell him anything because 8 really is a sucky number. Anyhow, perhaps if Bramah stopped stripping Vargas, he can attack next round.
Gecktar moves closer to Vargas.
MEANWHILE, ON THE UPPER LEVELS OF THE PYRAMID:
Zeoll and his two Charmed Buddies finally make it to the entrance of the ziggurat. Zeoll sees that there are two piles of rubble (and the two statues that had flanked the door are no longer there.) He also sees that there is a mangled minotaur that's at the bottom of the pit.
Ivanius moves off to follow the bard's instructions for getting the meat. Thalis follows Zeoll as he leads the other wemic to the uppermost level on the pyramid's exterior.
It will take Zeoll another round before both wemics are up where that broken statue is, and then Zeoll must also tell me exactly how he's "scanning" Thalis, and what Zeoll is scanning for.
DM OOC: no map this time...everyone who's in the room with Flat-top can try hitting at him...if they want.
Zeoll Wednesday May 16th, 2007 5:09:39 AM
Zeoll says, "Stand herre and wait" to his new friend. Then he will cast detect magic. He concentrates on the spell's area ... a cone 60 feet long and 60 feet wide at the end. He positions himself so that he and the other wemic are on the side of the pyramid away from the direction the minotaur went, 20 feet down from the apex. Zeoll positions himself so that he is scanning the side of the pyramid, the top of the pyramid, and the wemic. He concentrates for three rounds. After the 1st Round, he'll know the presence or absence of magical auras. After the 2nd Round, he'll know the number of different magical auras and the power of the most potent aura. After the 3rd Round, he'll know the strength and location of each aura.
Zeoll hates taking three rounds to do this, but the minotaur needs time to get out of earshot. After 3 rounds, the mino should be 300+ feet away, if he is running like Zeoll told him to.
Winterglade [AC22 HP31(61) Prot. from Energy(fire):74] Wednesday May 16th, 2007 5:44:12 AM
The sword clangs against Winterglade's shield. The armorer who forged it would be proud - how many shields had the honor to be tested by the Black Blade of the Veiled Queen?
Winterglade and Flat-top dance in a slow circle, the first attacking, the second intercepting and deflecting blows [still using shield to gain full cover from Flat-top].
"Winterglade liked you better with your morningstar."
Flat-top (AC 21 82/92;-1 level; Cursed) 2d8(1+3)+14=18 2d8(4+1)+9=14 Wednesday May 16th, 2007 6:26:29 AM
Flat-top (with the glassy eyes) attack Winterglsde again, Flat-top attack him twice (Ac 18 & Ac 14), But both attack clang on winterglade's shield.
"You Fool! I want Blood! His Blood! Kill Him!"yells the sword.
"Yes Master! I will do better!" Answers the glassy Eyed Center.
OOC to DM Donna; My roll buttons are broken or cursed?? they are giving me Low rolls??
Brahmah (Helm of Languages) [AC(24) 22+4 shield spell -2 size, HPS 90/105(123), Immune to Fireball 70 mins, Pro from Acid, Shield, Bear's Endurance, Enlarged] Heyoo (AC 16, hps 44/45) d20+9=21 d20+8=25 d20+8=23 d20+3=13 d20+4=9 2d6(3+5)+3=11 d8+3=10 d8+3=7 Wednesday May 16th, 2007 1:25:46 PM
(Sorry Ceil, I can't afford to try to subdue Flat-top as Brahmah is WEAK! So I will have to hit HARD!)
He stands and attacks Flat-top seeing that nothing he says even enters that mule's head.
(AC 21 and 25(crit 23), for 11 and 17 and as Flat-top IS a centaur he takes 8 more damage for favored enemy... :( sorry!!! 36 damage total)
Gecktar (AC20, HP22/66, magic vestment, divine power, shield of faith, bless) d8+1=4 Wednesday May 16th, 2007 5:21:24 PM
Gecktar tap Glade with his healing wand. and move to flank Flat-Top
(OOC heal 4hp)
Toros (AC 23, hp 41/70), Bless Wednesday May 16th, 2007 9:12:23 PM
Toros comes closer and casts a scroll. The black sword on Flat-top's hand is now "greased". The wemic hopes it will slip away from the hands of Flat-top.
Ups and Downs - DM Donna Thursday May 17th, 2007 1:25:59 AM
UPS: Zeoll is left alone with his friend Thalis, who is happy to stand exactly where Zeoll directs him to. Zeoll starts concentrating...by the end of the round, he can definitely tell that Thalis is carrying magic on him.
DOWNS: Deep inside the ziggurat, Flat-top is still insanely listening to that Sword, which is still insanely insisting that the only good Winterglade is a dead one! Fortunately for Winterglade, Flat-top's mad attacks are mostly all sound and fury, signifying nothing.
Brahmah manages to smack Flat-top for 36hpd, in spite of his weakened condition.
Gecktar heals up Winterglade for 4hp.
Toros gets a bright idea and casts a spell that might actually save the day..!
"ARRRRRRRGH!" screams the Sword. "By all that's unholy--I'm Greased???" Flat-top must roll a Reflex save versus whatever the DC for Toros's spell happens to be... (Toros--kindly post that ASAP.)
Flat-top Highlight to display spoiler: {If you fail that Reflex save, you drop that evil Black Blade. IF you ever drop the blade, you get to make another Will save, this time versus DC15...success means that Flat-top will return to his normal, mucky-stinky-oil-covered self (BOY were you LUCKY you didn't go up in a fireball when you jumped over that flaming moat!)...back to being Good ol' Flat-top. You fail the save, and you're still under the influence of the Sword--which will definitely urge you to pick it up as soon as you can.)}
Mosushi is a wallflower...
Toros - grease Thursday May 17th, 2007 2:59:54 AM
I guess the reflex save is 10 or 11.
Toros - correction Thursday May 17th, 2007 3:45:02 AM
sorry, the reflex save is 10 + spell level + ability modifier, making it 13.
Cayzle OOC Thursday May 17th, 2007 5:55:47 AM
Sorry, Tunc -- if you read it from a scroll, the DC is not as good. See the DMG, page 214 (Saving Throws Against Magic Item Powers): "The DC is 10 + the level of the spell or effect + the ability modifier of the minimum ability scoreneedd to cast that level of spell."
For a Grease cast from a scroll, that means Reflex save 11.
Flat-top, if you make your save, maybe you can use a hero point to try to fail it on the second try!
Winterglade [AC22 HP35(61) Prot. from Energy(fire):74] Thursday May 17th, 2007 6:19:36 AM
"Thanks Gecktar." Winterglade doesn't turn his eyes from the sword. The blade strikes out twice more, like a black lightning, but the centaur's shield is there to protect its owner [still using shield for full cover]. Toros cast his spell.
"Yeah! Try to disarm him! Come on, you are soldiers, you should know such tricks!"
[Ceil, your to-hit rolls might be better if you considered using d20 instead of 2d8.]
[There is an error in the rules that makes it much more efficient to heal up a character when half of his damage is subdual and half normal, so doing some lethal damage to Flat-top might not be such a stupid idea. If anybody has Protection from Evil cast it on Flat-top, it would solve all of our problems right away.]
Flat-top (AC 21 46/92; -1 level; Cursed) d20+4=7 d20+4=20 Thursday May 17th, 2007 7:10:17 AM
OOC: Sorry Winterglade! But I was told to use bastard sword stats, This is what happen when Flat-top put a crimp in my DM daughter Plans for us. Not even her mother can get away with anything!! Now to figer out these rolls.
Reflex - 7 Fail
Willpower - 20 Back to Normal??
Brahmah attacks Flat-top, hitting the centaur a hard blow. Flat-top drops the Black Sword, starts to ben down to retrive the sword, BUT it is covered in grease "Youck!! Who drop the Black Sword? Don't they know that It's a cursed Item? and greasy too!"
Then He takes a good look at himself "I'm covered with this Slime?? Where's the nearest Well??" Flat-top ask his friends. "Oh! The last thing I remember! I was in the moat going to the Queen's thrown!"
Zeoll Thursday May 17th, 2007 10:25:36 AM
Keeps concentrating.
Brahmah (Helm of Languages) [AC(24) 22+4 shield spell -2 size, HPS 90/105(123), Immune to Fireball 70 mins, Pro from Acid, Shield, Bear's Endurance, Enlarged] Heyoo (AC 16, hps 44/45) Thursday May 17th, 2007 12:46:02 PM
Sighing in relief, Brahmah kicks Flat-top in the rump and looks down at the sword. "YOU were carrying it you bonehead! Thats why I just sliced your arm. Sorry by the way. No one touch it! You attacked Glade!!"
"Can someone check Vargas please? I think he's still alive... which is unfortunate. If he's DEAD however, I think we have the meal for those lizards at the bridge." He smiles.
"If he's alive, I think we should return him to the nearest temple of Domi for trial as traitor. Or Alemi to heal his mind."
"But..." Says the Capain hopefully looking at the blackguard's body. "... I frankly hope we killed him."
"As for the sword, perhaps we should return it to the rightful heirs, the Sunsetter tribe. They could destroy it for us."
He looks around at the group, "Now, if we can find a way to carry it without touching it, we can get it out of here before the others return. Besides, I think I'll carry this." He kicks Vargas hard in the face.
He then bends down and continues collecting and packing the blackguards gear, leaving the taur with nothing but a loincloth and remaining dignity to cover him. He even goes as far as to wrap a blindfold and mouth gag on him. By the end of the scene, Vargas is a mere shell of his former self (regardless if he's dead or alive!) "He deserves nothing. He was a trator to Domi and to the rest of his race."
Gecktar (AC20, HP22/66, magic vestment, divine power, shield of faith, bless) d20+9=10 Thursday May 17th, 2007 2:11:01 PM
Gecktar seeing that Flat-Top regains his mind, looks briefly at the black sword then turns back to Vargas, trying to perceive a stream of life (heal check 10)
"We shound'nt forget Zeoll and his two fellows. I'm going to heal those who need it before we proceed further."
Mosushi (ac15, hp 22/32) Thursday May 17th, 2007 6:20:23 PM
"Should we head up and check on Zeoll."
Wanders a ways, tosses silent bag away, then returns tot he group and repeats his question audibly.
OOC: I'll forward the sheet on soon. In a few weeks, more free time should emerge
Toros Friday May 18th, 2007 12:12:16 AM
Toros finally gets some time to rest and heal.
(OOC: Thanks for the info Cayzle!)
No More Fighting! DM Donna Friday May 18th, 2007 2:59:04 AM
INSIDE THE ZIGGURAT:
Finally Flat-top snaps out of it!
The Black Blade falls to the ground, commanding Flat-top to pick it back up again, but the centaur is oblivious to its influence now.
Gecktar (who is likely being VERY careful to not cross the streams) perceives that Vargas is barely alive (OOC: he's at -9hp...and mysteriously stable.)
Everyone is free to do what they feel they must.
OUTSIDE THE ZIGGURAT:
Zeoll's concentration pays off! (OOC: incoming email for Zeoll!)
Thalis frowns, shifting from paw to paw. He's getting a bit antsy, it seems, although he says nothing.
Ivanius is still not there.
Winterglade HP35(61) Friday May 18th, 2007 3:27:20 AM "I frankly hope we killed him."
"He's alive? Better that way. If we really killed him we would be seeing him again really soon. If he was the best the Plagued One could find for this job then he would be definitely worth the effort to raise. But now that he's in our hands you can polymorph him into a snail and keep in a jar for your viewing pleasure for the rest of his life."
"As for the sword, perhaps we should return it to the rightful heirs, the Sunsetter tribe. They could destroy it for us."
"Would they? Winterglade doesn't know, but he is afraid that there would be someone crazy enough to try to master the blade. We can talk about it as we go back."
"Now, if we can find a way to carry it without touching it, we can get it out of here before the others return."
"Winterglade has a half mind to sheathe it in Vargas' butt. He wanted it so badly. Besides, the two seem to be made for each other, what with blade being already greased and Vargas sorely in need of some spine."
<Sigh>
"Looks like Winterglade is the best choice for the bearer of the Black Blade. His mighty wisdom will shield him from its influence, and even if he succumbs to it, he couldn't hit a broad side of a barn with a sword that large."
If nobody objects to that Winterglade pulls out his winter blanket, spreads it on the floor, pushes the blade to the center of it with his dagger without touching the black sword with his hands, and then wraps it up with the blanket and ties the parcel securely among his saddlebags.
The centaur hands the rod back to its owner.
"Agreed. We should completely heal up before we go after our furball."
[Damage check everyone. Donna, is there enough time to use wand of healing multiple times, or are we still counting time by rounds?]
Zeoll d20+21=25 d20+7=25 Friday May 18th, 2007 6:08:39 AM
Zeoll reminds his friend that there is a trap that will melt his iron items into his flesh, so take off all iron right now. Bluff check 25, Chr check 25.
If he forgets, Zeoll reminds him to remove his armor.
Then Zeoll tells him to stand about ten feet from his gear, facing the pyramid. "This is wherre the doorr will be rrevealed. I have to sing it open."
Zeoll stands about 30 feet from the wemic. He starts to sing a song about opening the way and about great rewards. He is actually Inspiring Courage in himself, but the wemic need not know that.
Then, after the wemic has taken off his metal items, Zeoll casts Extended Hideous Laughter on him. The Will Save DC is 20. If it works. then Zeoll will charge the wemic, drawing his sword and striking at him. Zeoll should have eight rounds of attacks on the prone, laughing wemic.
If the spell does not work, Zeoll will try again next round with the same thing. Hopefully the enemy will take time to grab a weapon and move forward. That should spare Zeoll an attack this round. Next round, Zeoll casts the same spell, with the same save.
Flat-top (ac 21/hp 46/92; -1 Level) Friday May 18th, 2007 7:28:27 AM
Flat-top tries to scrape the oilly mud off, "I'm not touching that Thing again! I don't remember what I did, but Winterglade is scared of me, Gethar is looking pale!! Did I do all that?" Comments Flat-top, "I do feel weaker! I hope it does not last!"
OOC to DM Donna: Will Flat-top ever get his lost level back??
Gecktar (AC20, HP22/66, magic vestment, divine power, shield of faith, bless) Friday May 18th, 2007 4:27:50 PM "He is still alive. On the border of death, miraculously. I guess that if we try to move him we could kill him."
"We need bring him before the great priests of Domi for atonment. He was one of us, and should return on this way..."
"Once we get the sword ready, I'm going to give him some little healing. Sufficiently to be able to move him."
Moshushi Friday May 18th, 2007 6:41:38 PM
"Now, if we can find a way to carry it without touching it, we can get it out of here before the others return."
Moshushi will try lifting it with mage hand. if he can, he'll put it in his handy haversack, so it's out of sight.
"let's put you away, so you do no harm. Sound good?"
Flat-top d8+1=7 d8+1=7 Saturday May 19th, 2007 7:12:20 AM
"Wait a minute!" Flat-top remembers, "I have a tatoo of Cure Light Wounds!"
So Flat-Top put one hand on Gecthar's shoutder, with the other hand touches his shoulder with the (CLW) tattooon it, curing Gecthar of 7hp of damages. "Sorry! That's all the magic have, But let me do it again!"
This time Flat-top cureing 7 more hit points ((7+7=14hp)
Occ to DM Donna: Flat-top can Cure Light wounds three time a day. But being a centaur he always keeps one touch of that magic for himself.
Brahmah (Helm of Languages) [AC 22, HPS 90/105, Immune to Fireball 70 mins, Pro from Acid(40mins)] Heyoo (AC 16, hps 44/45) Sunday May 20th, 2007 10:45:15 AM
Brahmah asks Glade. "My friend, my bear is in the chamber. Can you possibly calm him and bring him out? I don't want to leave Vargus." Brahmah kicks him again.
Taking Care of Business - DM Donna d20+5=18 d20+5=16 d20+5=20 Monday May 21st, 2007 12:36:30 AM
Flat-top manages to use his Tattoo so that Gecktar is healed of 14hp.
There is plenty of time to accomplish whatever needs to be done, as there is no fighting and, thus, the time is not being counted off in rounds.
And the party discusses and ponders even as the events topside unfold...
TOPSIDE:
Zeoll's words make incredible sense to Thalis, and he immediately removes the items he has that have metal on them: his rapier, his daggers, his studded leather armor and a ring he was wearing on one of his fingers.
Thalis has NO skill in Spellcraft, and so he can't tell that Zeoll's songs are to first inspire the Chosen one, and then to ensnare Thalis in a spell.
Unfortunately for Zeoll the spell doesn't take effect.
Tune in tomorrow to see if Zeoll's second attempt will get Thalis to laugh uncontrollably...
Zeoll Monday May 21st, 2007 12:48:16 AM
Like Donna said, Zeoll tries his spell again. If the now-uncharmed wemic is all up in his personal space, Zeoll might have to take a five-foot step back to avoid provoking an AoO.
Winterglade 58(61) d8+1=6 d8+1=5 d8+1=4 d8+1=2 d8+1=8 d8+1=9 d8+1=7 d8+1=7 d8+1=7 d8+1=6 d8+1=4 d8+1=3 d8+1=5 d8+1=7 Monday May 21st, 2007 4:44:51 AM
Winterglade does a round of healing with the lesser party's wand. He burns enough charges to bring the party up to fighting condition.
[Winterglade is healed for 23. Flat-top is healed for 30. Gecktar is healed for 25.]
"Tell Winterglade if you feel you need more healing. We'll need to get a new wand, this one has now less than ten charges on it."
"Winterglade wonders about two things: one, where are Vargas' cohorts that dimension-doored out of here. They can't be too far, that spell doesn't have a long range. We need to be on our guard. Two, what happened to our guides? If they are dead we can forget about warm welcome at Ffft."
"Anyway, we should probably check on Zeoll. Ready to move out?"
[If Mosushi has a way to store the sword in an extradimensional space Winterglade will gladly let him carry it. This way at least the blade won't be able to speak out at the most unappropriate moment.]
[Just an odd thought: maybe the enemy Zeoll is trying to overcome is not neccessarily immediately uncharmed? Sure, he could feel a magic attack on himself, and he definitely will consider himself threatened by it, but does he immediately recoginze Zeoll as the source of the threat? He could think some kind of trap activated?]
Flat-top Monday May 21st, 2007 6:36:46 AM
"Ahhh! Thank-you Glade, that feeels much better!" Flat-top told winterglade and he feel a litte bit of shame of the attack on his friend.
To make up for things, he'll turns to Brahmah, I'll go to gdet your Yahoo for you! I still have some berries and a honey comb left, I'm sure he'll follow me back here in spit of the Fire!"
Flat-top will hopefully go to get the The scared bear, "He has to be hungry by now! He's still young and also want out of this room!" Come on Yahoo, Look some honey! and a few berries, Come on Let's play a game call come and get the Honey"
Flat-top turn and runs alittle ways and throws a few berries down to make the bear follow, "I wonder if this will work on this poor scared bear?"

Gecktar (AC20, HP61/66, magic vestment, divine power, shield of faith, bless) d20+5=13 Monday May 21st, 2007 10:06:58 AM
Gecktar was ready to burn some charges of his own wand but Glade was faster.
"Thank you friends for your healing" he says to both Flat-Top and Glade.
"Ready to move"
"I just want to check everything here before leaving."
He goes in the Queen's Chamber and looks around to see if there is anything odd here, mutters a prayer to Domi and scan the area. (spot 13 + detect magic spell).
Brahmah Monday May 21st, 2007 10:56:10 AM
He hefts Vargas onto his shoulders, grabs the Blackguards gear (everything Vargas had, Brahmah is carrying.) If Brahmah is unable to carry both, he decides to carry Vargas and asks Flat-top to carry Vargas' stuff.
"Who has the sword? Glade, you said you'd carry it?" He asks apprehensively.
Mosushi Monday May 21st, 2007 9:48:02 PM
"I have the sword, though I will not be sad to give it away."

More Surprises! - DM Donna Tuesday May 22nd, 2007 3:04:35 AM
Winterglade heals up his fellow Chosen.
Flat-top ventures into the moat room and gets Heyoo to follow him...honey, apparently, is enough to get the bear to ignore the fire in the moat (which is still burning, but it is nowhere near the inferno it was before.
Gecktar sees that the body on the chaise is wearing magic items: the headdress shows a moderate Transmutation aura; the chain mail shows a moderate Abjuration aura.
Brahmah feels that his load has suddenly lightened considerably--Vargas has disappeared!
(DM OOC: before I get angry player email...one of the brunette centaur's magic items was a Friendship Bracelet. Besides...we all know that true nemeses run away in order to fight another day! ;D)
TOPSIDE:
Thalis scowls.
"What do you think you're doing???" he demands, stepping towards Zeoll...and vanishes before Zeoll can cast his spell!
In the distance there is an unmistakeable roar--like that of an angry Tyrannosaurus Rex and a scream...like that of a T-Rex dinner.
All that is left with the bard is that pile of items that the wemic stripped off at Zeoll's charmingly-worded suggestion!
Winterglade Tuesday May 22nd, 2007 4:52:31 AM
"So, Vargas has given you the slip again, eh? Here's an idea. We get a helm of opposite alignment and next time we bump into him, we put it on his bony head until the magic takes hold. Will be much harder for them to set that straight than it would be to raise him from the dead." [credits note: idea by Cayzle]
Winterglade watches with interest as Gecktar performs his detections. Even though he cannot sense what the spell revealed, he can see by Gecktar's concentration that he has found something on the mummified body of the queen.
"Winterglade isn't sure we should take anything else from her. Taking the sword is fighting to save the Isles. Taking anything else is graverobbing."
Flat-top d20+6=25 Tuesday May 22nd, 2007 6:28:39 AM
Spot - 25
Flat-top look for the thing that Brahmah said for himself to pick up? (If they are there Flat-top will do as the Captain ask.) "I'll do it right now, Captain!"
(But if when Vargas disapeard with his things??) Flat-top ask the Captain, "What things??" with a silly look on the centaur face>
Brahmah d20+13=27 d20+12=30 Tuesday May 22nd, 2007 10:50:04 AM
Brahmah swears loadly, shrugs and says, "Well, we will need to sell his items and buy more manicles." The minotaur says. "Should have killed him. Would have made them spend more gold."
"We move on. We have what we came for. The Sword is ours and so is the day, as it should be." He smiles a bitter smile. "Besides, I didn't feel much like lugging his evil carcass around the place anyway."
"Anyone loot anything else from this place? I'd hate to go off empty handed." He looks at the Blackguards gear. (Whats there? Was there another Bracelet of Friends among his goods?! ;))
"They won't likely attack us this day. Lets find Zeoll."
The minotaur, Blackguard loot in hand, moves toward the entrance, though vigilant all the way. Spot27, Listen 30 He is attuned to everything post battle.
Zeoll Tuesday May 22nd, 2007 3:25:05 PM
Zeoll gathers up the gear and then goes to look at the dead body in the pit. Is it there? Anything magic in that pit? Maybe it dropped a magic weapon when it fell in.
Gecktar Tuesday May 22nd, 2007 3:26:35 PM "I'm not sure we should take this, probably not, but the corpse has other magic items. I think we should let them here, but some may argue not"
Gecktar helps every one gathering all their gear and prepare to find back Zeoll.
"We should prepare for another fight as Zeoll has too guys with him."
Checkin' Stuff Out Again (or is that "Still"?) - DM Donna Wednesday May 23rd, 2007 2:12:49 AM
Within the bowels of the ziggurat, Vargas's disappearance does not sit well with the Chosen, but they don't beat themselves up over it...after all, Brahmah DID strip the blackguard down to his leggings and tunic, leaving behind the following magic items (thanks to Gecktar's spell): a magic long sword, a breast plate, a large shield, two rings, a pearl on a silver chain necklace and a cloak. There's also a backpack with a bedroll, two blankets, 3 servings of trail rations and a whetstone--but neither the backpack nor the items in it are magic. The sword, armor (including the helm) and shield all look to be made of adamantine.
Brahmah's vigilance does not turn up anything--or anyone--out to get the party.
Not yet, anyhow.
TOPSIDE:
Zeoll looks down on the body of the minotaur laying on the bodies of mummified snakes. He can see that the great axe lying to one side, as well as the breastplate and the cloak that the late minotaur is wearing are magic.
Winterglade Wednesday May 23rd, 2007 4:11:00 AM
"Winterglade also says we leave other posessions of the dead queen undisturbed. Let's pack up and move on."
Toros Wednesday May 23rd, 2007 4:19:03 AM
The disappearance of what remains from Vargas, if not his equipment is troublesome enough for Toros. The wemic feels the strong urge to find Zeoll and get out of this place. Packing up he follows others and help carry the stuff.
Flat-top Wednesday May 23rd, 2007 7:57:30 AM
Flat-top brings along the bear, but once they passed the door, Hayou runs to his master, sits in frount of him wanting to be petted.
Flat-top enter the room "Here he is and Boy! is he afraid of fire." Flat-top look around then ask Brahmah "Where's the body of Vargas?Did the body disapear? Maybe he's out side?" Flat-top goes pail... "Zoell is out side! Captain can I go to see if Zeoll is alright?"
If the Captain tell him "yes!" then Flat-top will go up the stairs in a hurry.
Gecktar Wednesday May 23rd, 2007 11:53:45 AM
Gecktar take the path back to the exit of the ziggurat, hoping to find Zeoll not too far and in good condition.
Zeoll Wednesday May 23rd, 2007 2:40:50 PM
Zeoll stashes the wemic's loot out of sight (in pockets for the small stuff). Then he finds a spot to sit and hide while watching the pyramid entrance. Will the Chosen come out? Or Vargas and company?
He tries to be ready either way.
Brahmah (Helm of Languages) [AC 22, HPS 90/105, Immune to Fireball 70 mins, Pro from Acid(40mins)] Heyoo (AC 16, hps 44/45) d20+12=17 Wednesday May 23rd, 2007 3:57:48 PM
Being down the passage a ways, Brahmah turns around and says, "Stop talking and get moving." He smiles at the group.
Just before reaching the exit, Brahmah Listens for anything ahead. (Listen 17) The sounds of nature drown out anything significant.
Mosushi Wednesday May 23rd, 2007 7:32:10 PM
Mosushi will tag along with the group, though not too close to Flat Top with his sword problem a few minutes ago
Almost Reunited - DM Donna Thursday May 24th, 2007 1:36:09 AM
Heyoo practically throws himself at Brahmah in his relief to be let out of that hazy, fiery room, acting more like an overgrown puppy than a very young adult bear.
Whomever it is that actually has the Black Sword, please make a Will Save versus DC15, as the Sword is attempting to sweet-talk whomever into actually holding the sword. If you fail...well, like I said, that Sword really wants out. Really.
Zeoll hides outside, hoping that his buddies come out. The other Chosen approach the exit to the ziggurat, hoping Zeoll is okay.
Brahmah doesn't hear anything.
Someone better break the stalemate, or the Chosen may grow old and gray before they're reunited.
Winterglade Thursday May 24th, 2007 3:21:24 AM
Winterglade marches forward. It is not hard to see that he is worried. "Careful now, that was only half of the battle. We still have to deal with those whom Zeoll lured away from the fight."
Then he remembers their guides from Ffft. "Uh, does anybody have a shovel?"
Flat-top Thursday May 24th, 2007 6:11:32 AM
When the Captain said MOVE, Flat-top swishes his tail (Like a propeller?) trying to make his but go faster. "Yes! Sir" Clop - Clop - Clop - Clop! (Four hoves moving fast up the stairs)
Brahmah Thursday May 24th, 2007 9:10:45 AM
Steps into the bright light of the day. Blinking, he looks around to help his eyes readjust.
(I imagine that its like stepping out of a dark movie theater after two and half hours. Arg! :))
Heyoo Thursday May 24th, 2007 1:03:32 PM
Slobbering, he strides out of the cave.
Zeoll Thursday May 24th, 2007 2:32:06 PM
The liontaur stays in place waiting to see who will emerge from the pyramid.
Gecktar Thursday May 24th, 2007 3:13:14 PM
Gecktar goes out searching for traces of Zeoll. "Do you think he is right ?
Brahmah Thursday May 24th, 2007 6:46:44 PM
"Zeoll is the smartest taur I know. He'll be fine."
Zeoll d20+8=18 Thursday May 24th, 2007 8:26:13 PM
Seeing Brahmah step out, Zeoll breathes a sigh of relief and goes to meet his friends. He tells them his story. It is possible that the minotaur warrior will come back carrying meat, or, more likely, he got called back too.
Zeoll mentions that at least they got some loot.
But his real question is about the sword.
"Have you got it? Have you got the Sworrd?"
"You know of courrse, my frriends, ourr next job -- to destrroy it."
Zeoll wonders about any legends or prophecies he might have heard that will help tell the group how to destroy the Black Sword, as Gargul commanded him.
Bard Lore: 18
Brahmah Thursday May 24th, 2007 8:42:46 PM
"We even had Vargas, but he vanished just a few minutes ago. He was still alive."
Toros Thursday May 24th, 2007 11:53:18 PM
With the sword, without Vargas what matters for Toros is all Chosen are safe and reunited. This is something to celebrate!
Waiting on Mosushi - DM Donna Friday May 25th, 2007 2:59:05 AM
The Wold awaits with bated breath, as the sword in Mosushi's haversack whispers inside the spellcaster's mind:
...You could unite the Taurs...all would be as Domi can ever hope for...if only you would free me and bear me in battle...only the strongest can rule the Taurs as one people...I can make you strong...
Mosushi must make a Will save versus DC15 or be swayed by the Sword's wheedling for freedom.
Winterglade Friday May 25th, 2007 4:06:33 AM
"Winterglade thinks we need to prepare for another attack. They might want to strike us again. Vargas might have lost his gear, but they still posess enough spellpower to overcome us if we are caught unprepared, for example while climbing down a cliff."
"Have you seen our guides anywhere, Zeoll?"
Zeoll Friday May 25th, 2007 6:06:36 AM
"The guides? No, I haven't. But I also have not seen any bodies, so that's good. I hope they had the sense to rrun off."
Flat-top d20+6=17 Friday May 25th, 2007 7:02:12 AM
Flat-top ajust his eyes to the light, then look around to see if everybody is together. But whe he look's at Musushi. "Oh! Oh! Mosushi has that funny look on his face."
Brahmah d20+16=32 Friday May 25th, 2007 7:26:50 AM
He slaps himself in the forehead. "The guides!"
"They may be lost in the structure."
He begins to look for wemic tracks exiting the ziggurat and heading into the jungle. (Survival 32)
Gecktar Friday May 25th, 2007 1:21:22 PM "Are you fine Zeoll. What about the other guys ? Did you beat them ?"
"Your plan was very good congratulation. Even if we don't have them all, I think they are going to think twice before the next attack.
And in fact I think we should elaborate another plan... But we have time."
"Let's try to find back our guides..."
Zeoll Friday May 25th, 2007 1:55:30 PM
Zeoll tells Gecktar and his friends how he sent one off on a fool's errand, and how the other one was teleported away. But Zeoll got some loot from him.
Meanwhile, how is Mosushi? Zeoll looks closely at him.
Winterglade Friday May 25th, 2007 3:50:45 PM
Winterglade listens to Zeoll's story.
"That was a good plan. Devious, but good. In the end it probably helped to avoid bloodshed. Why then is Winterglade left with a strange aftertaste, he wonders? All these lies that have been told, most probably... Then again Brawler alone knows what would have happened if we acted in other way. No point to dwell on it now. There is still a long road ahead of us."
And a sea voyage - bleck!
Brahmah Friday May 25th, 2007 6:10:36 PM
Looking at Mo, "He's battle attled. He froze immediately upon seeing Vargas! It may have been some new thing Vargas learned." He looks to the jungle. "By Domi! I'm really not looking forward to anymore battles in the near future. I just want to rest!" He looks at his fresh wound. "This smarts."
Brahmah Saturday May 26th, 2007 4:03:26 PM
"Mosushi, you okay?"
(I'd be playing Mosushi if only his player sent us the sheet! :( )
Brahmah Sunday May 27th, 2007 10:42:08 AM
Looks around, happy to be outside.
Toros Sunday May 27th, 2007 10:59:10 PM
As the Chosen reunites, Toros reflects with a cheering tone:
"Your plan worked almost perfect Zeoll, and it is amazing how you have dealt with these two minions alone.
However, you should have been with us and watched when Brahmah and Gecktar fought with Vargas. Some of the blows were awesome.
I was not so good with all these illusions and fake sounds. Then I and Mosuhi had to play some "silencing" game with the spellcasters, and all worked well at the end.
And he he, you should have seen while Flat-top was chasing after Glade with that black sword and its double blade.
I am telling you it was all crazy, and man we were lucky!
Thanks Gods that everthing ended up well and now we can make jokes and stories about these. A good bard - like you - can make a couple of legendary stories to sing for sure."
Resisting Temptation - DM Donna d20+4=23 Monday May 28th, 2007 4:53:16 AM
Mosushi shudders under the silky whispering in his mind, but (thankfully!) resists the lure of evil and doesn't try to take the sword out of his haversack.
However, he wisely tells his fellow Taurs that the sword is obviously a powerful item of Evil and wants to be wielded once again.
Clearly the Chosen must try to think of some way to keep that from happening.
Mosushi also reminds everyone that the guides up the mountain had remained on the other side of the bridge that had to be crossed. Hopefully that is where they are still--if Vargas and his group didn't find them.
DM OOC: whomsoever may be kind enough to send me an email may receive a copy of Mo's CS from me--sheesh, I didn't even realize that the player wasn't posting.
Posting Report For Monday May 28th, 2007 7:40:55 AM
Game # 7 The Chosen of Domi For the week of May 21, 2007
Flat-top Monday May 28th, 2007 7:49:52 AM
Flat-top get's ready to cross the rickaty bridge again, he also tel the others "I wonder if that big Lizard is still looking for us??"
OOC: DM Donna are we going to get some Experince points for this game? I want to go back up to my level 9 again??
Winterglade Monday May 28th, 2007 8:06:10 AM
[Time check please: what time of day is it?]
The centaur watches Mosushi's haversack with an unpleasant expression on his face. "We can't let it try its tricks again. Imagine somebody falls under its sway while we are climbing down a cliff."
"Hard to say if it can affect just anyone it is near to. The fact that it can influence others while being in an extra-dimensional space is a bit worrying."
"Winterglade says let Heyoo carry it. And let Brahmah keep Heyoo on a strong leash. The sword might have no way to motivate the bear into running off with it. Only it needs to be tied up securely so that an invisible cohort of Vargas can't just run up to us, cut it off, and teleport away with it. Also, come next morning, we should get some Protection from Evil ready, just in case somebody caves in."
Zeoll Monday May 28th, 2007 9:46:48 AM
"No, Glade, I think that giving it to the beast would be a mistake. Please, Brrahmah, let me carrry it. I'll rremove my armorr, and bind my hands. But I am much morre likely to rresist its call than the bearr."
OOC to DM: What was the result of Zeoll's bard lore check for ways to destroy this thing? My first guess would be an admantine magic weapon with more pluses than it has, but that might be hard to find.
Brahmah Monday May 28th, 2007 12:02:42 PM
"Heyoo will not be on a leash or carry that evil item." He looks at the bag.
"Zeoll, Vargas was wearing the manicles I bought when he disappeared. I don't feel right about binding you, especially since the sword seems adverse to spellcasters, it might actually kill you outright."
"I feel that the sword is best kept where it is."
Mosushi [sub Jay B, unless his player wants to post instead] Monday May 28th, 2007 12:03:51 PM
The Eldritch stands there, buzzing in his ears from the evil sword's taunts.
Zeoll Monday May 28th, 2007 2:17:30 PM
"But rright now it is being carrried by Mosushi -- who is also a casterr -- and he is less able to rresist it than me." (Will save +4 vs Will Save +11!)
Gecktar Monday May 28th, 2007 3:05:46 PM "Let us be vigilant. Maybe we should change the wielder as that temptation could be growing every day...
I think this kind of things could be very persuasive, and in the long term able to suggest some really appealing demeanor. If it is intelligent as I think it is, it will learn from each other and try to influence us as a 'good old friend'"
"Let Mo keep it at the moment, maybe we would change tomorrow."
"I will keep an eye on him... As all of you I think..."
Details, Details - DM Donna Tuesday May 29th, 2007 2:22:16 AM
By now, it is clear that the sun is low in the sky--it is late afternoon going on to evening/nighttime.
Zeoll's Bard Lore check is something that he'll be thinking about when the Chosen make camp somewhere.
The Sword in Mosushi's pack sulks.
Experience points and such will be forthcoming.
Winterglade Tuesday May 29th, 2007 5:08:47 AM
"Let's get out of the reptile country before sunset, yes? Winterglade will need a safe place to run tomorrow if he is going to be any help to Gecktar in curing the lot of you from the mummy rot. We should also find our guides if they are still around. Winterglade would like to be on the other side of the bridge before it gets dark!"
Flat-top Tuesday May 29th, 2007 6:47:42 AM
"But It's almost sundown!" Flat-top look around. "Maybe we should stay here for the night?? I'll take first watch. Just as long as I can see that big hungry lizzaed!"
Mosushi [sub Jay] Tuesday May 29th, 2007 12:38:05 PM
The caster agrees heartedly with Zeoll. "Captain, please, I think someone else should carry it. I know the fighters tend toward slower minds... no offense, but a caster, perhaps a cleric type with a stronger mind would be best." He looks at Gecktar. "A solid divine mind might fend off the taunts." He sets down the bag. "No offense Captain, but I really think I want nothing more of this sword." He looks hard at Brahmah.
Brahmah Tuesday May 29th, 2007 12:46:05 PM
Looking at Mo, Brahmah almost smiles, but his expression changes multiple times while Mosushi talks. Its nearly impossible to tell what the taur is thinking. Then, placing his hands on his waist, he grins at the wizard. "Well, well. I think you found you voice my friend! I agree with you. And take no offense at the fact I have a weak mind, but thats why you are here. You have a strong mind, Zeoll has a strong heart, Flat-top has a strong head, the others have strong loyalty and I have a strong body." He winks. "Together, we're almost an unified taur, aren't we?" He smiles again. "That made no sense. Sorry about that. Lets move." He begins moving very rapidly toward the path leading to the bridge and the dinosaurs. "You know, I have a bad feeling. I think Vargas and his group may have destroyed the bridge. I would have, especially if we could teleport out."
Brahmah Tuesday May 29th, 2007 12:48:34 PM
"Oh yeah. Gecktar, if you would, please carry the sword for us. Use Domi's power to with stand the lure. Cast Protection from Evil on your mind or whatever you do."
Zeoll Tuesday May 29th, 2007 3:43:25 PM
"Let's trry to find ourr guides, then camp forr the night. Maybe if we sleep and prray, Domi will give us advice in ourr drreams. But we need to set watches, forr surre!"
Toros Wednesday May 30th, 2007 12:58:02 AM
"OK guys lets go and find our guides before camping. It is getting late..."
Gecktar d20+9=28 Wednesday May 30th, 2007 2:45:19 AM
Gecktar accepts the sword from Mo as their Captain dictates. It don't take it with its bare hands putting it into his blanket.
