Blood Vision from Sagetome:

There seems to be a shadow following the group of green, a shadow of evil. The shadow desires one and has marked one for death

I see green betwixt two balanced forces, neither of which holds the green close to their heart. The shadow will tip the balance if it is not brought into the light. The forces out of balance may destroy each other and the green in between.

The shadow is searching for the item to throw the forces out of balance, but it is not it real purpose. The shadow is looking to dominate through purification.

The number three keeps repeating, two supporting one.

The Emerald Dragons traveled to Apolis and escorted the Wizard/Teacher Oxford and his bodyguard along with more than a dozen students. The Emerald Dragons were attacked from afar by several spell users. Two of the spell users were killed, but Oxford and most of the students were killed.

It turned out that one of the "students" was actually a powerful spell user in his own right and he hurt Gunther and his cats before escaping with several students and it was not clear if it was against their will.

Aeralia was contacted several times by the "student" attacker before leaving.

The group reached Apolis and is attacked by the city gate. Ingrge easily kills most of the ground forces and at least two of the spell users. A few bystanders are also hurt and killed in the exchange.

Aeralia gave the three remaining students, who were under some sort of enchantment, some money to hide out in an inn and await her contact.

The Emeralds are met by Spenser, who Sutton knows. Sutton is a wizard/instructor personal body guard and Spenser was part of the general guard of the Cube or Star Mage Guild and school.

Spenser led the group to a root cellar hide out where he and Karen, a Wizard have been hiding out. Karen had been putting up a defense of Apolis by herself as most of the leadership of the town and Cube are either dead, in hiding or keeping their heads down. Karen has been battling a former lover now turned vampire/wizard in the evening.

The group has buffed up in anticipate of attacking the Cube. Spells were cast and the ring of teleportation activated (haste was done by the time of teleportation). Karen, Sutton and Oxford were requested to stay back

The Emerald Dragons teleported to the lawns of the Cube and were met by curious gazes of many ghouls and ghasts. Ingrge cast an animate dead spell on the large pile of dead wizards to help with the group's defense.

The zombies are now forming up.

Karen teleports onto the lawn of the Cube not far from Brother Bertram and looks around. "I apologize Falin, I had a scroll dropped off for you. Chino killed the messanger, but it seemed very important."

Falin takes the scroll and breaks the seal. A concerned look crosses his brow. "I have a family matter I must attend to. I seem to have more family than I suspected. I apologize that I must leave you on the eve of battle, but I will be with you in spirit and see you shortly at the Tower of Sayrd."

Falin give Lian several items he was holding for the group.

All the talking and preparation means the delay is so great that Athalorn's haste spell has faded by the time the party teleports.

Athalorn is in the second group, further away from the wall and the enemy. Once he has his bearings he immediately takes a Culverclove leaf from his pouch, rubbing it between forefinger and thumb. CLosing his eyes momentarily he calls forth lightning from the sky to aid his task.

Recap...

Having left Thaeri in the root cellar, Gunther briefly considers leaving the cubs with her, but decides to take them along after all.

After teleporting into the yard with Ingrge, Gunther and his kitties take a look around, eager to take out any resistance quickly. (Spot=19, Delilah=21, Cub1=14, Cub2=nat. 1)

Aeralia glances around quickly as they "pop" into existance outside the cube, quickly trying to survey their surroundings. That is, until she recognized what Ingrge was casting. Then her jaw merely drops in complete shock as the corpses begin to move under the elven wizards control.

"You've...got to be kidding me! Wha-what in the Wold are you doing!?!" the young sorceress stammers loudly towards Ingrge, once she snaps out of her initial shock.

Narrowing her eyes lightly towards the elder elf, she chances a glance towards the other Dragons to gauge their reaction to the horrid deed.

(OOC: Ready an Action to Counterspell Ingrge if he tries to animate again, unless there is another immediate threat. Dispel Magic 27 used as counter, if needed)

The Emerald Dragons for up together on the lawns outside the Cube. Ingrge commands his new undead and is sure that it will give him nightmare for weeks to come. Aeralia is horrified that one of the Emerald Dragons would consider the sue of such and evil spell and prepare to counter any future uses of Animate dead.

The Zombie pull themselves out of the stinking pile of dead wizards. Most of the Wizards were young at least in life, but now have a very gnawed upon look to them. Aeralia actually recognizes two of the undead wizards as students that teleported with the rouge student that attacked Gunther.

It looks like it will take at least half a minute for the zombies to put themselves into the groups of five that Ingrge has instructed, but they are attacking ghouls in the pile of dead wizards. One ghoul is easily brought down and it looks like a second will soon follow.

Dellintu plunks a thrid ghoul with an arrow and it hisses at him and moves behind the pile of bodies. Other ghouls are getting over their surprise and seem to be puzzling out what to do about these new living beings in their domain.

The ghouls/ghasts are in groups of twos and threes and seem to be giving the zombies a wide bearth. There are no ghouls or ghasts within 30 feet of the Emerald Dragons, but there are two groups of three between the Emeralds and the stone tunnel covering the service entrance.

Wasting no time, she takes aim with her composite bow and fires at the first group of three ghouls between the Emeralds and the stone tunnel.

The Zombies continue to form up. There are now two groups of five within 10 feet of Ingrge. The balance are moving toward him and take down another ghoul in the process. A few are engaged with ghouls and ghasts.

Anthalorn has completed his spell and is racing for the Cube, but still has around 30 seconds to go. The druids vision is clear and he can see all of the shapes on the great lawn of the Cube, but can not yet disern indivduals, well maybe a few, as Bertram size stands out, and so does Lian's speed.

Milo stands ready and his love fires three times and drops one ghoul by the service entrance.

Lian rushes forward in a blur and prepares to show the ghouls and ghast what a hand of Domi is all about, but they attack him, poorly.

The monk is surrounded by ghouls, that seem concerned that they could barely touch his robes. Lian is fast and the Ghouls predictable in their attacks.

Gunther keep an eye on Ingrge and Dellila and looks for an opportunity to strike, but it appears that the zombies will be running interference with most of the Ghouls and ghasts. The big warrior will have to move to attack as the ghouls may not make it to him easily.

Please excuse any errors I make, I did not recieve Donnas sheet. Most of these totals are assumptions. I am going off her 12th level sheet from late 2006. I am adjusting totals UP +1... I know thats wrong its likely more.

Lian becomes a whirling dervish of hands, feet and elbows and the three ghouls go down in a heap. K'Nara arrives at the Hand of Domi's side just as all the opponents become permanently dead.

Sonara and Dellintu each hit ghouls in the second batch of ghouls by the door wounding the two surviving ghouls.

Ingrge activates his and and waits to direct the black bears and as he waits he scans the area, but does not see any invisible creatures, just a whole lot of dead wizards and ghouls and Zombies, not a pretty sight in the least.

Anthalorn add a woody layer of protection and see his wing eagle rapidly approaching (will be on scene next round, but ot able to act.)

All other Emerald Dragons act as though they are rooted to the ground.

Two groups f five zombies move forward toward Ingrge and the balance are either forming up or fighting ghouls. Loses are felt among both the ghouls and zombies.

Momentarily set back as he saw all the undead around, The grizzled dwarf moves forward 20 feet (AK59) and tries to turn or destroy the undead facing him. (can turn up to 15 HD undead) As he feels Domi's power and Gargul's loathing of undead rise in him he channels this power toward the undead within 60 feet of him. 23 total hit dice of turning damage. His lips turn upward as he feels the rush of energy flow through him.

(OOC: Jim, Do you still need me to post stats for the Zombies or how do you want to do this I am planning on doing nothing with them excpet have them fight the ghouls and Ghasts and then prvent any from entering the tunnel behind us.)

Ingrge again charges the Zombies with attacking the Ghouls and Ghasts and once the Bears arrive charges them with the same task. Ingrge then takes a look around and takes off at a full run to U 70 so that he is looking directly at the tunnel entrance and is far enough away from the nearest undead to have some time to study the entrance for the magic he expects to find there.

(OOC: Please post maps aroundthe same time of the DM post if you can. I work 14-15 hour shifts several times a week, so it makes it hard to post when I want to wait for the map (so you posted last rounds map this morning, and the new round post/map all while i was still at work today). Or re-reading it, maybe i misunderstood and you weren't planning on posting a map for round 10, and the 'map tomorrow' meant you'd post one with round 11.)

Aeralia huffs and releases her tensed stance as Ingrge uses the wand of summons, though she still glares after the elven wizard for a few moments. Taking a few steps towards the open entranceway, Aeralia conjures several simple globes of light, sending them dancing down the corridor, to test where the anti-magic field begins. "Bertram, can you do something about -all- the undead?" Aeralia hollers to the dwarven cleric, the word 'all' tainted with harsh feelings, and a unfriendly glance towards Ingrge.

Afterwords she to scans the area for any sort of invisible threat, or lingering magical auras.

The squishy noises of slamming zombies and clawing and biting ghouls and ghasts can be heard coming from on and around the dead wizard pile. It appears to be somewhat of a standoff as the wizard zombies are giving as good as they get from the former guardsmen ghouls and ghasts. The stench that that battle is kicking up is awful.

As the some of the Emerald Dragons move forward to engage the Ghouls and Ghasts it becomes apparent which ones are Ghasts as the smell of death is almost overwhelming.

Brother Bertram attempts to send the undead to rest as they are an abomination to all that Gargul stands for, but he does not judge the distance well and none are effected. It may or may not be good fortune as the closest undead were the zombies.

Ingrge uses all haste, literally, to put himself in position to see in the stone wall formed tunnel. The tunnel is dark, but is quickly lit up by Aeralia's dancing light spell. Ingrge does not have the best view of the tunnel as it does bend and there seems to be an obstruction, a greatly damaged door of sorts. Ingrge can see that there is magic mouth spell cast on the door about half way into the tunnel. Ingrge also sees a broken sword that may have had some hint of magic.

Anthalorn runs up to support Ingrge and also looks into the winding tunnel. The druid sees his eagle approach and start to slow and prepare to land on his shoulder (will land to start the next round unless directed otherwise).

Ingrge, Aeralia nor K'Nara see any invisible creatures.

Dellintu injures a Ghoul and sees Lian and K'Nara run at it.

Lian is very acrobatic in his cartwheel and flip to his new opponents and they are too flabberghasted to attempt and AoO.

Lian and K'Nara each send an undead back to death.

Sonara plunks and undead but he does not fall.

Olana also adds one arrow to the melee before her the fletching of her second arrow get caught in her bowstring.

Gunther and Dellila move up to prepare to support the advancing Emeralds.

Milo move up into Dellila's ample shadow and stabs a Ghast and wrinkles his nose at the smell of death.

The ghast facing brave little Milo was distracted by the two other large opponents close by as it give only a half hearted attack against the rouge.

Stepping forward (AC64), Gunther unloads on the Ghast in front of him (Fort=27). He grins as undead body parts fly all around him. **If Milo drops the Ghast before Gunther's attack, then he will move to Y57 and perfrom a single attack on the ghoul in X57.**

Muttering at her sudden clumsiness, Olana shifts her aim, this time at the Ghoul approaching Milo at AB 61.

Why is the duration of the enlarge spell on Gunther/Lian so long? Should the duration not be 130 combat rounds and that is if he cast it personally, which he did not. Does anyone remember how Ingrge cast enlarge or what Ingrge's contingency spell is for?

Jay, please keep the spell duration of Ingrge's summoned bears and attack for them in the future. Thanks.

The power of Gargul flows with Brother Bertram and several of Ingrge's Zombies fall to pieces in his presence and even one ghast slumps over into a stinking pile of rotting flesh. The Cleric surges forward to support his fellow Dragons.

Ingrge directs the bears to attack the ghast in front of him (I placed the bear's incorrectly last round and have adjusted). The bears rip into the surprised ghast that they appear next too, seemingly annoyed but unaffected by it smell. The bears exhale to clear their sensitive noses.

Ingrge steps forward and gives the ghoul in front of him a forehand and backhand with his staff and the foul undead crumples.

Dellintu move forward and fires a nicely aimed shot into the ghast fighting Milo and it makes the beast howl with annoyance if not pain.

OOC: I rolled Milo's unmodified fort save of 9, DC is 15 or be sickened.

Milo starts to become overcome by the stench of the ghast, but is fortified somewhat as the arrow strikes the beast and he stabs out twice, connecting both times and the ghast topples over almost on the Halfling.

Anthalorn changes into a great dire bear as he gains mass and hair with each step forward. The black bears are heartened by his presence. Anthalorn's eagle lands deftly on the great bears massive shoulders like he has done so, so many times before.

Anthalorn has a good view of Aeralia's dancing lights spell turn the corner of the tunnel, just past the battered door that is lying on its side. The lights diminish a short time after rounding the corner and the druid can only assume that the antimagic must be a short ways past the corner. Anthalorn realized that there is no way a great of large size will make it into the tunnel as it pinches and turns.

Gunther sees no opponents in front of him an he moves forward to assist K'Nara and easily dispatches a wounded ghoul by removing its head. Black blood oozes out of the massive wound.

The dire lion happily obeys Gunther and bounds forward and reaches out with her dagger like claws over K'Nara and ends the wounded ghoul existence by removing its arms.

Lian shuts off his boots and sees that the bears has the ghast in pieces so he moves forward to a ghoul and caves its chest in with a well placed jumping side kick. The ghoul folds in half never to rise again.

K'Nara stays put, but has no alive or undead opponents as her friends moved forward to assist her. There are no invisible foes to be seen by Lucia, who is burning brightly.

Sonara is a bit concerned that she is getting left behind and her original target is down. What would Falin do? Sonara give a little shudder as the zombies get close, hoping that Ingrge still has hold over them. Sonara fires a long shot a ghoul (AS20) by the stinking dead wizard pile and she staggers it with two hits.

Aeralia runs flat out to get with her fellow and also watches her dancing lights wink out as the turn the corner of the magical wall of stone tunnel.

Olana also sees her first target drop before she can fire and changes targets and drops a ghoul (AR 24) by the dead wizard pile, supporting Ingrge zombies in their battle with the ghouls and ghasts. After firing her three arrows, Olana moves forward five feet.

The zombie and ghoul/ghast battle still rages by the stinking, fly infested, dead wizard pile. Neither side was gaining an edge until Olana and Sonara started to help the zombies/former wizards.

Two ghouls and a ghast close on Lian (you made your fort save, just a different ghast), and they are horribly slow compared to the hand of Domi and do not even touch his robes.

The Emerald Dragons see at least a half a dozen ghouls or ghast exit the former wizard school and guard house (total of at least 12). The undead see what is happening and one group start to race to the stone tunnel where the Emeralds are starting to converge and the other toward the dead wizard pile (neither is on the map yet.)

The school and guard house are built into the low wall that surrounds the CUBE and are at least 180 feet away. The two building are on opposite sides of the CUBE.

Ingrge takes aim at the group of six plus ghouls forming up (off map) and casts Fireball at the center of the whole lot. (Reflex DC 26, for 35 damage)

Athalorn roars in his new guise as the large bear. He smiles inwardly, knowing the Ghouls and Ghasts are more or less finished in the compound. He moves to U58, guarding the entrance to the tunnel. With a roar and a gesture with his huge claws, he calls forth a bolt of lightning to the ground where one of the approaching Ghasts is.

Glannath takes off into the air from a growl from Athalorn. The eagle swoops low over the cube looking for signs of other entrances.

Seemingly oblivious to the stench of the ghasts around him, Milo fights on. The halfling turns to the next creature and launches an assault against the undead. (OOC: An unmodified roll of 9 is a total of 23. He rolls an additional saving throw this round... not sure if I needed to however of DC 32. Made 2 attacks against AC 29 and 20 for 18 and 15 hit points of damage respectively.)

Waiting for the other, not sure if she should preceed down the entrance, Aeralia casts a quick spell, sending a few missiles of energy towards the nearest unengaged undead, that doesn't appear to be under Ingrge's control.

Time to move, she thinks, and waving at Dellintu and Sonara, she heads for Z67. A better position to back up Milo and the others near the tunnel.
