Kirsten Sunday November 4th, 2007 8:55:47 AM
She stares at the strange ghost, and her even stranger ramblings. Kirsten isn't all that sure what to make of all of this, and she looks a little worried when they're offered what look to be skeletal fingers.
"Uhm..." she fidgets somewhat, not sure if she should take anything from a ghost.
However, her curiosity gets the better of her and she takes one of the offered fingers. Kirsten peers at it intently, also wondering what the purpose of such a thing is.
Edmund d20+6=7 Sunday November 4th, 2007 6:32:03 PM
Edmund slips in after he sees that the ghost in question doesn't appear to be dangerous. He also goes so far as to take one of the finger bones when offered.
Looking at it inquisitively, he mutters to himself, "Doesn't look edible.."
Thinking back on his education, Edmund can't recall anything called the 'Day of the Dead'--but perhaps he knew it by another name. He spent a lot of time studying as a child, and clearly didn't get out much. (Knowledge History=7, Natural 1)
Conner Sunday November 4th, 2007 7:58:28 PM
The fighter tentatively takes one of the fingers and examines it. "And what are we to do with these?" he asks.
Arm d20+3=9 Monday November 5th, 2007 5:59:54 AM
Arm takes a sidelong glance at Mira before taking one of the proferred fingers. He has heard of the Day of the Dead (Int=9), but he doesn't see what that has to do with her presence, and communicates as such to Eve, "Thank you, um...m'lady, but you still have not told us why you are here, unless it was to offer us these gifts? And as my friend Conner here has said, what use are they?".
Shadow d20+1=15 Monday November 5th, 2007 7:15:32 AM
Seeing even the easily frightened Edmund approach and take one of the offered finger bones, Shadow feels he must also. "Thank you, and I do repeat my companions questions, why are you giving these to us and what are we to do with them?" Shadow questions.

Kadaz Monday November 5th, 2007 7:33:02 AM
Kadaz moves forward and accepts one of the offered fingers. "Thank you very much. Can we be of assistance to you?"
Birdie looks up, waiting for his bone. He whines a bit, trying to attract attention.
Kirsten Monday November 5th, 2007 2:47:59 PM
She looks towards Birdie when she starts to hear the dog fussing, peering down at the bone in her hand and then at the dog.
"Poor puppy," she murmurs, waiting to here what the ghost has to say.
Mira Monday November 5th, 2007 3:16:50 PM
Mira keeps to the back of the group, not going so far as to leave the apartment like Edmund, however. The cleric seems the best one to deal with this ethereal creature from the shadowlands, she surmises.
"Choose for me," she invites the ghost, holding out her own hand, palm up, to receive a finger bone.
Edmund Monday November 5th, 2007 5:37:11 PM
After receiving his bone, Edmund carefully sidles back towards the door and slips through it, outside once more. The door nearly shut, Edmund peers through the crack and watches the goings on with some display of nervousness.
Goodbye Eve. (DM Jim) Monday November 5th, 2007 9:54:01 PM
As each of you takes one of the small finger bones and then she drops the last one into Mira's hand she nods her head. "They are something special from Jack. You see, he likes to hand out little tokens of his every year and they can be helpful to those that make use of them...but they are double sided." She indicates the black and white nature of the bones and then continues. "Oh...I am just delivering these for Spooky this year, though I am going to see if he will allow me to do it again next year." She goes silent for a couple of minutes as her faces scrunches up in concentration.
With another of those tinkling bell laughs she nods her head. "Spooky told me to tell you that these bones have one of two different abilities that you can make use of. What you need to do is, anytime that you want to make use of your bone...is hold it in your hand and then say one of these two phrases...it will turn to dust in your hand and the effects will be immediate." She smiles as if the idea is a good one and that Spooky or Jack is a genius.
"Bone of Trick 'n' bone of Treat...give me light and give him darkness."
"Bone of Trick 'n' bone of Treat...give me health and give him harm."
She had closed her eyes as it seems to help her concentrate, but she opens them as she finishes. "The first rhyme will cast light for you and darkness on one enemy. The second rhyme will heal you and harm your enemy. You can of course reverse the idea of light and dark or even health and harm if you want the other effect." She glances around one last time at the group and gives you a bow. "It was an honor to bestow these Tricks 'n' Treats upon you this year...use them well." Her soft light begins to fade until it is no longer visible and you no longer feel her presence.
[The first phrase acts just as the spell of the same name, but both spells are cast in the same round that the rhyme is spoken. You can designate an enemy and a friendly for each target of the bone. Each of your targets cannot be more than 15' from you though and they allow no saving throw versus the effect chosen. The second phrase works like the first but the healing and damage are both maxed out at CL 6, for a CLW spell, and give no saving throw of anykind.]

Arm Tuesday November 6th, 2007 6:06:33 AM
Shaking his head, Arm looks around at his friends, finally settling on Thar, "Do you detect any evil upon these items, my friend?".
To the rest, he continues, "Well, THAT was a quite confusing occurrance...I suppose before we retire we give those scrolls at the very least a cursory glance before we venture out tomorrow morning.". If the party agrees, when he spots the one in draconic, he looks to Mira to see if she can interpret it.
Kadaz Tuesday November 6th, 2007 6:22:43 AM
"A pleasure to meet you Miss Eve. Thank you very much" Kadaz manages to say before the ghost fades out. He examines the bones in his hand, then carefully tucks it away.
"So, that was interesting. Now, we need to go exploring!"
Shadow Tuesday November 6th, 2007 7:13:22 AM
Shadow shakes his head as the ghost disappears. "Wow, that was interesting, to say the least. Well it looks like we should all get some sleep so we can start early in the morning with our search. Or do we try tonight to do some searching?" Shadow asks as an after thought.
Thar ail Baerer Tuesday November 6th, 2007 10:16:01 AM
Bowing slightly to the young ghost, Thar thanks her for the generous gift. To his companions, he says "I think we should start tonight, as I'm getting antzy not doing anything. I know that Mira (and who else?) are going to the Catacombs to sell our stuff and buy a CMW wand and some water breathing items, but we might as well get a head start on our searching."
Edmund Tuesday November 6th, 2007 1:22:29 PM
Edmund slips back inside once he is certain Eve is well and truly gone. He has by now pocketted the bone he received, and takes a few moments to look around to ensure that she is actually gone.
"Time for adventuring already?" Edmund whines plaintively. "I suppose, if we must, if it is absolutely necessary. Gotta save the world and all, I know, but I wish I had a little more time to enjoy the comforts of regular baths and meals."
Edmund is a little downcast as he has not yet had a chance to visit the catacombs, because he was waiting for Mira to return with the proceeds of their sale. Nevertheless, he is ready to go even at a moment's notice--whatever he might say.
Kirsten Tuesday November 6th, 2007 6:09:27 PM
She looks down at the bone in her hand, and then tucks it carefully into her pocket. Kirsten looks around at her companions, before moving to retire. Let the other's deal with the technicalities, she thinks to herself.
She wanders back to her own space, pulling out a book of some sort to read as she waits.
Mira Tuesday November 6th, 2007 11:04:27 PM
"This shouldn't take long," announces Mira as she drops Eve's gift into her spell componant pouch. "Come on, Connor," she continues, "you can carry the equipment."
Mira hands Thar the Ccure Light Wounds wand with 15charges, then heads off to the Catacombs with:
"You want me to take those scrolls?" she asks, before she exits.
(OOC: I'll post the split asap.-Carla)
Arm d20+13=18 d20+7=24 Wednesday November 7th, 2007 6:02:16 AM
Guessing that they'll leave the scrolls for another time, Arm tags along with Mira and Conner, but chooses to remain outside the Catacombs while they transact business, keeping a sharp eye out for danger (listen=18, spot=24).
Conner Wednesday November 7th, 2007 7:33:26 AM
The fighter gathers up the various swords, spears and javelins as well as the armor. The pile almost obscures his vision. He follows Mira to the catacombs, looking somewhat like a cross between a bristly porcupine and the servants of the very rich who trudge behind their ladies, weighed down under hat and shoe boxes.
Shadow Wednesday November 7th, 2007 7:55:13 AM
"Do we start with the warehouse or names on the lists?" Shadow asks. "The warehouse will be easier, and there might not be any innocent people there at night." he continues. He goes to his room and makes sure he has all of his equipment for a night jaunt.
Thar Wednesday November 7th, 2007 9:28:54 AM
Placing the CLW's wand into his backpack, Thar thinks for a moment about Shadows question. "Your idea sounds good and I think a bit of night time recon is a fine way to start out."
Edmund Wednesday November 7th, 2007 8:15:06 PM
At the idea of nighttime reconnaissance, Edmund frowns.
"Not sure I'm much use for that--but I can make you invisible if you like. That's about it, I'm afraid. And it will only last a few minutes, so it's not very useful if you are going to be gone for a while."
Still, if they accept, Edmund will cast Invisible on those who request it. The spell will last for seven minutes.
Kirsten Wednesday November 7th, 2007 8:29:16 PM
She looks up when the others mention going out to explore at night. She looks between Thar and Shadow with a vague sense of worry.
"I won't go with you, it isn't my thing, just be careful if you do go."
She looks over at Edmund, somewhat curious, "You sure there isn't any other spell you can cast to help them?"
The paladin frowns, not wanting them to go alone but certainly not wanting them to get hurt.
Arm d20+7=27 d20+13=27 Thursday November 8th, 2007 6:00:37 AM
Arm continues to stand guard outside the Catacombs, wishing a bit that he had the stature of Conner or the constitution of Kadaz, as they would be better suited for this work (spot=27, nat. 20, listen=27).
Shadow Thursday November 8th, 2007 7:21:33 AM
"Well Edmund, you could go with us and give us that invisibility right before we enter. Oh yeah, you could also give us that message spell that allows us to communicate when we are not close to each other. The rest of you could be waiting if anything were to happen." Shadow starts to formulate a plan of action. "What do you all think?"
Kirsten Thursday November 8th, 2007 5:25:59 PM
At Shadow's suggestion she seems to perk up.
"That's an excellent idea, Shadow."
Edmund Thursday November 8th, 2007 9:45:23 PM
Edmund considers Shadow's suggestion and decides it would be best if he were to cast message on everyone present.
"Don't forget," he says, "if you go through any doors or if you go too far away, the message spell will weaken or stop working entirely. So, be careful, and don't go too far."
Edmund will then cast Message on all those present.
Arm Friday November 9th, 2007 5:58:11 AM
As Arm stands patiently outside the Catacombs, he wishes that he could understand more languages than he does so that he may interpret the scrolls better...at least Mira could help them with the Draconian one, should they allot the time to doing so.
Kadaz Friday November 9th, 2007 6:55:17 AM
"Let's go and scout this warehouse. I don't want to give our enemies a chance to regroup more than we already have."
Conner Friday November 9th, 2007 7:39:29 AM
The fighter watches Mira deal with the staff at the catacombs from an unobtrusive spot near the door. He is always amazed by the strange creatures that work there, and by some of the less than ordinary adventurers that trade there.

The group that goes to the catacombs makes it there safely and enter the magic store.
The other group moves through the city towards the warehouse that they are going to take a look at. (Please let me know exactly what you are going to do for once you arrive at the warehouse.)

Connor dumps the heavier goods in a pile designated by the staff, and resumes his position to watch and wait.
Edmund Saturday November 10th, 2007 8:44:03 PM
Edmund fusses a bit and, in the end, decides to go with the group headed to the catacombs--no surprises there. He makes himself a nuisance in the shoppe by knocking various expensive items off of a shelf, and appears to be doing his best to get banned for life.
"What an attitude!" he says, when he is asked not to 'test' the magical devices. "What ever happened to 'the customer is always right', eh?"
Mira Sunday November 11th, 2007 6:58:28 PM
"17,378 GP!" announces the sorcerer in a loud whisper. "Subtract 300 GP for the identification fees, and that gives us 2134 each with 6 GP left over."
Edmund Sunday November 11th, 2007 10:31:44 PM
Edmund begins to make some notations on a piece of paper, and then plunks down something on the counter of his own, grabbing one of the numbers from the ticket dispenser.
"Served me fair well, this," he says, nodding at the rod. "I would fain its replacement were at least as good!"

The Catacombs: The group in the Catacombs continues to work on their transaction(s), and trying to keep Edmund from destroying the place.
The Warehouse: The other group arrives at the darkened warehouse and they are trying not to be conspicuous in the empty streets around the warehouse district. Once they arrive, Thar and Shadow move off to check things out. After about 5 minutes, that seem much longer to those that are waiting, the two return with a little information. They inform the group that there are three possible entrances, the front door (which is on the street they currently are on), the loading doors (which are around back from where the group is), and there are a few windows close enough to the roof of a neighboring building that Shadow feels he could get to. They did not find anything in the way of traps or alarms although all the entrances are locked.

Thar ail Baerer Monday November 12th, 2007 9:21:28 AM

"I've got rope and a grappling hook that will at least help us out."
Kirsten Monday November 12th, 2007 7:43:27 PM
After some thought, and more than a little grumbling. The paladin decides to accompany Shadow and Thar to the warehouse. She doesn't think it is the wisest of plans, and is visibly nervous.
However, she would never be able to forgive herself is something happened to them and so she waits as they check out the building.
When they return, she murmurs, "I think I will wait outside and try not to draw any attention. If you aren't back in an hour ... I'll be coming after you."
Mira Monday November 12th, 2007 11:08:45 PM
"We would each have to contribute between 500 and 510 GP, I think," Mira answers the bard.
Mira hands over 510GP to Arm, "here's my contribution. Will you make the purchase?" The sorcerer divides the money and hands it out to those who are there, then says, "I'll bring the rest back to the apartment for the others."
Conner Monday November 12th, 2007 11:10:44 PM
"I'm in," Conner rumbles in a low voice. He chooses a couple of gems, and some gold pieces equal to 510 GP, and hands it over to the half elf.
Kadaz Tuesday November 13th, 2007 5:31:34 AM
"Windows it is. But someone has to set the rope before I try to climb it. And I'm likely to make noise while climbing the rope." The dwarf eyes the climb. With all of his gear this could take a while.
Arm Tuesday November 13th, 2007 5:57:47 AM
Arm smiles at his beloved and replies, "Certainly, my dear. Stay safe of the way back, and I'll join you shortly.". He then proceeds to take a ticket from the holder and prepares to be served.
Thar ail Baerer Tuesday November 13th, 2007 9:13:01 AM

Looking up the wall, he says "Shadow, do you want to climb it? If not, I guess I'll volunteer, but you'd be better than I am."
Edmund Tuesday November 13th, 2007 12:21:44 PM
Edmund hands over his 510g to Arm, shrugging his shoulders.
"If it keeps me from getting smashed up too badly, it's worth it to me."
Mira Wednesday November 14th, 2007 12:00:34 AM
Mira returns to the apartment and makes equal piles of gems and gold coins for those of the party who were not present at or near the Catacombs. She then begins the process of making an inventory of her gear in order to determine what should be kept, traded, or doplicated.
Arm Wednesday November 14th, 2007 5:57:37 AM
Arm taps his foot a bit impatiently while waiting to be served at the Catacombs, worrying about his friends at the warehouse and that they are doing well.
OOC: Scott, since the Cat seems to be short-staffed at the moment, can I just assume that I've already purchased the Cure Medium Wounds wand and return to the apartment? I don't want to hold the rest up any longer than necessary. :)
OOC ADM Scott Wednesday November 14th, 2007 7:20:49 AM
I am so sorry everyone, I was sick in bed yesterday with the stomach stuff that was going around my family. Jerry did send me the module yesterday and I will take a look at it and get us back on track here today (It will be later, but I am working on it.)
Arm, yes you can go ahead and post that you and Mira (and anyone else that was at the Catacombs is back at the apartment). The warehouse group will get a post later today to keep them moving.
Thank you all for your patience and hopefully Jim will be back soon.

DM Post (ADM Scott) Wednesday November 14th, 2007 12:16:42 PM
The Catacombs group take care of what they are doing there and head back to the apartment. There are no problems either returning from the Catacombs or with the apartment. They do note that the other group has not returned yet.
The group at the warehouse wait patiently while Shadow makes his way up the other building and they notice that he takes a peak in one of the windows. Thar is getting ready to throw up the rope once Shadow is prepared to get it.
(I am taking a little liberty here because I don't want everyone to wait till tomorrow for this next little piece. It really only affects Shadow [my character] and Thar, so hopefully everyone is okay with that.)
Shadow motions for Thar to toss up the rope and then catches it. Shadow motions for them to wait, and then disappears for a second. He then scales down the rope quietly. "I glimpsed the doppleganger that we saw in the tunnels in there just now, and did not know if we wanted to enter in right now." Shadow says quietly to the rest of the group.
Mira Wednesday November 14th, 2007 6:06:43 PM
Addressing her companions lounging about the apartment, Mira asks, "should we go see how the others are doing? We might meet them as they return from their scouting mission...or," the sorcerer's green eyes grow darker, "they may need back up."
Kirsten Wednesday November 14th, 2007 8:41:38 PM
Upon hearing that Shadow had seen the doppleganger, the paladin shakes her head.
"Perhaps we should go back and get the others," she murmurs, quiet. "It would be best not to get ourselves into a compromising situation."
Edmund Wednesday November 14th, 2007 8:46:52 PM
Edmund glances up from his spellbook when Mira suggests going to check on the others.
"Oh, I'm certain they're fine," he says confidently. "More than certain, in fact. Besides, as soon as we go off to check on them, they'll come back and wonder where we are."
Edmund returns to his studying, one leg draped lazily over the arm of the chair. A cup of tea sit steaming on a table near to hand. This may have something to do with his reluctance to depart.
Conner Wednesday November 14th, 2007 11:26:40 PM
"I'll go with you to find the others" the fighter readies to leave should Mira agree.
Arm Thursday November 15th, 2007 5:53:36 AM
Finding it a common occurance to ignore Ed, Arm heartily agrees with Mira, "Yes, I think we should all go to back up those at the warehouse..those at least that have the courage to.".
Shadow Thursday November 15th, 2007 7:04:58 AM
"I think some of us should stay here and make sure it does not leave the warehouse. I will stay, and I will get back up on the roof and keep watch. I don't think it would be a good idea for all of us up there, but I should be able to hide well enough." Shadow says to the group as he moves back over to the rope.
DM Post (ADM Scott) Thursday November 15th, 2007 7:08:16 AM
The group at the warehouse discuss who will stay and who will return to get their companions. Shadow climbs back up on the roof in hopes of spying more on the doppleganger. He does see the the creature moving around the warehouse, but cannot really get a good look at exactly what it is doing.
The group at the apartment try to decide if they should stay to make sure they meet up with the group that should be returning soon or trying to meet up with them at the apartment.
Kadaz Thursday November 15th, 2007 8:11:11 AM
When Shadow reports back on what he saw Kadaz is eager to attack. "But we need to be at full strength to enter the warehouse. I don't want to take them on again without all of us together. The fastest person should go get them, the rest of us hide around here and watch."
Edmund Thursday November 15th, 2007 5:24:52 PM
With the maximum amount of grumbling and whingeing, Edmund puts away his spellbooks and finishes his tea.
"Right, let's go, soonest started is soonest ended, what?"
Thar ail Baerer Thursday November 15th, 2007 8:48:32 PM
"Yes, good point everyone. I'll run back to the apartment and notify them. Since I can be stealthy and hide in shadows, I should be able to avoid any other issues on my way there and back. I'll be back in a flash."
Doing his best to remain quiet and unobtrusive, Thar will run back to the apartment and when arriving, will give them the "lowdown" on what they saw at the warehouse. Once everyone is ready, he'll lead them back to the warehouse via a different route, so if he was followed, they won't be able to guess where he is going.
Thar ail Baerer (2nd post) Thursday November 15th, 2007 8:49:34 PM
Note in my last post, I was referring in the last sentence (They won't be able to guess...) to NPC's or villans that might be following us and NOT our party members.
Mira Thursday November 15th, 2007 11:07:27 PM
"It's settled then..." announces the sorcerer, as she takes up her pack and arranges her pouches hanging from her belt.
Poking an index into the soft spot below the bard's ribs, Mira makes a frownie face at Arm. "Try not to atagonize Ed," she says low enough for only the half-elf to hear. "Despite his poncy ways, he's prooved himself, and more than once, when we've been in a squeeze!"
Wrapping an arm around the bard's, she heads out the door announcing, "let's go, and look smart!"
Arm Friday November 16th, 2007 6:01:32 AM
With a look of grim determination after hearing Thar's report, Arm checks to see that his new wand is secured about his person, and also that his rod is present.
As they head to the warehouse, he whispers to Mira, "Maybe he has, but I think our next purchase should be a wand of lightning bolts that we can use to spur his posterior into action..he MAY come through for us, but not without a LOT of prompting to set him in motion. He needs to realize that the spoils of our profession will not come by drinking tea constantly. Since he seems receptive to you, perhaps you can have a talk with him?".
Shadow Friday November 16th, 2007 7:31:14 AM
Shadow nods his head in agreement when Thar suggests that he will run back and get the rest of the group. "I will climb back up and make sure we don't lose our friend." Shadow then climbs back up the rope and once again peers into the window.
Conner Friday November 16th, 2007 7:32:32 AM
Conner hears Thar's words and a look of grim determination settles across his face. He checks his sword and shield and heads to the door. He has a score to settle with that doppleganger...
DM Post (ADM Scott) Friday November 16th, 2007 7:34:14 AM
Thar hustles back to the apartment, along the way he does not see anyone that seems overly interested in him. He arrives back just as the rest of the Mithril Order is leaving the apartment. He informs them of what is happening at the warehouse, and they all head back to the warehouse. Once at the warehouse the group all meets, except Shadow stays at his perch.
(Okay, what is the plan of attack?)
Thar ail Baerer Friday November 16th, 2007 10:16:12 AM
(OOC = I assume we bought a CMW's wand, right? How many charges does it have? Also, I'll give the CLW's wand to Kirsten, which has 15 charges)
Putting the CMW wand into his pack, Thar hands the CLW wand to Kirsten and explains that it has 15 charges.
Quietly discussing their plan of entering the warehouse, Thar comments "I'd like to get some more intel on what we're facing before we go in. Also, if we have Mira or Ed up high (near the window), they could blast away with spells and be out of melee range. The fighter types could take the enemy face to face, and I would stay behind them, healing them when needed and firing arrows or moving up to support them with my swords if needed. Any other thoughts?"
Kadaz Sunday November 18th, 2007 3:33:21 PM
Kadaz offers his suggestions on a frontal approach. "Shadow, when you looked into the warehouse and saw the doppleganger, did you see what the floorplan was? If we break down the door is there one large open floor or are there side offices or obstacles to hide others? And by the way, nothing says 'surprise' quite like a large fireball!"
Edmund Sunday November 18th, 2007 9:00:40 PM
Edmund follows after Mira, and thinks to himself, "I always look smart."
When they arrive at the warehouse, Edmund looks at the rope. "Looks like this might be a job for flying," he whispers. "I wouldn't like to show up everyone with my rope-climbing prowess..." and then adds, more quietly, "...and it's been a little while since I've climbed a rope."
Turning to face everyone, he listens to Thar's plan and nods his approval. "Yes," Edmund puts in, "It sounds like just the thing for Mira to do, up there, blasting away with spells. Fireballs, and all," he nods to Kadaz. "But for my own part, I've no capacity for that sort of thing. Quite beyond my ken really, and if you send me up there..."
Edmund shrugs, and then shakes his head. "Well, nothing says surprise like my corpse falling from above, crashing into those of you waiting below."
Kirsten Sunday November 18th, 2007 9:04:09 PM
She takes the wand Thar offers to her and places it with her other things, nodding her head slowly in thanks.
"I'll use it wisely, I promise."
Kirsten listens to Thar's plan and what the other's have to say.
"I think it is a good plan. Though Edmund is probably right about his being rather useless in the spell department."
She peers over at her childhood friend, shrugging.
"It would be nice to have a little more information, too, before we go charging in."
Arm Monday November 19th, 2007 5:53:18 AM
Arm hands over the CMW wand to Thar, and nods in agreement to his plan. "That would put her a bit away from the brunt of the danger," Arm thinks to himself, and realizes that he likes it that way.
Upon hearing Ed's last comment, he cannot help but turn away and smile, thinking it would be quite amusing to see him 'fall from grace', as it were. Readying his sword, he prepares with the others for action based on Mira's reconnaisance.
Shadow Monday November 19th, 2007 2:12:22 PM
Shadow sees the return of Thar and that the others have shown up. He slides down the rope effortlessly and heads over to the group. "I don't know for sure if there is anything else in there, but I did see the doppleganger carry something out of an office and move to another area that I can't see into. I do suggest we all move up or somewhere else because we now will really start attracting attention." Shadow says as he surveys the rather large group that has formed from all of his companions.
The Warehouse - outside - DM Post (ADM Scott) Monday November 19th, 2007 2:14:57 PM
The whole Mithril Order is now present outside the warehouse. Right now it looks like no one has taken notice of the large group, but that probably will not last for long.
Shadow has provided some information about the layout of the warehouse, but the doors are rather shielded from the windows so it would be hard to tell what they enter into.
OOC: I need to know what everyone plans (Hint lets get this party started - lol).

"I'll need a few seconds to prepare," says Mira in response to Thar's plan, as she reaches into her spell component pouch.
A few deft movements with her hands, and foreign sounding words whispered low, and the sorcerer is protected by her magical armor. "This way I can communicate what I see. The magic of Message will link us," she continues, "I'll do the recon invisible and save the Flying scroll for another time, since..." Mira smiles down at her spiffy Slippers of Spider Climbing, "these should do the trick!"
Mira will scale the wall to join rogue. "Shadow! It's me! Mira, come to peep in the window, and tell the party what I can see."

Recon of the Warehouse - DM Post (ADM Scott) Tuesday November 20th, 2007 9:34:17 AM
Mira casts a couple of spells and then climbs the building to join Shadow in looking in the window. She sees that the warehouse is not full but there are quite a few piles of boxes that make the warehouse broken up into corridors and spaces. Both her and Shadow cannot see the doppleganger, but can see at least one shadow of something moving around an area that looks to be near the main doors (the large loading doors that are across the building from them.
The group on ground level spread out trying not to draw attention. There are only a few people on this street and are not paying any attention to the group. There are however more people on the other street as it is a larger thorough fair. People seem to be just doing their own thing, so people are not really paying attention to the warehouse or group watching it.

He'll silently move and try his best to blend in with the shadows, while looking for a side entrance. If he finds one, he'll check it for traps, alarms, etc.

"We can communicate through the message spell as you work your way through the warehouse. Try to remain undiscovered, however..." the sorcerer pauses, then goes on "...should you be discovered, it will prove the distraction Shadow and I need to slip through the window unobserved."
Mira tries to get a feel for what the rogue might be thinking, then says, "if we can get through the window unobserved, we should be able to flank the enemy!"
Edmund Tuesday November 20th, 2007 9:05:43 PM
Edmund isn't too thrilled about the prospect of having to fly up a wall and fight his way in through a window.
"Unguarded side entrances would be best," he whispers.
Kirsten Tuesday November 20th, 2007 9:22:35 PM
She nods in agreement to the idea of taking a side-entrance. The paladin isn't exactly fond of clinmbing, and certainly not in all that heavy armor of hers.
Kirsten tries to make herself as unobtrusive as possible.
Arm Wednesday November 21st, 2007 6:02:28 AM
Arm nods in agreement with Thar's assessment, "Yes it would be best to go in from the side entrance, and we'd best keep a rear guard. I volunteer to stay near the back and keep my eyes and ears open. Marching order, anyone?".
Kadaz (AC 26, HP 86) Wednesday November 21st, 2007 7:15:47 AM

Entering the Warehouse - DM Post (ADM Scott) Wednesday November 21st, 2007 10:09:56 AM
Shadow searches the windows and does not find any traps or alarms, so he is confident there are none. He then attempts to open the window, and is successful in unlocking the window. He then tries to pry the window open, but it gets stuck about hand width open. He wiggles it, trying to get it open without making any more noise. It finally wiggles free with a what seems like a deafening squeal (although it only seems so to the two right next to the window because it does not appear to have alerted anything inside the warehouse) at least no alarm has sounded.
The group at the side door find it locked, and Thar does not detect any traps/alarms. Since the group is at the side entrance they are in deep shadow and it does not appear that they have attracted any attention from the main road.
(OOC: Everyone make Move Silently checks during the next couple of turns. Also, I will try and make a post tomorrow but not 100% sure that will happen. That is also why I have not rushed to start any sort of combat. Let me know if it is too slow though.) Have a great Thanksgiving if you are from the USA! (I am by the way.)
Conner (AC 25, 85 HP) Wednesday November 21st, 2007 7:59:45 PM

OOC: OK, today will be an 'OOC' only post..I finally completed the transaction at the Catacombs..the CMW wand was 4050gp after the discount, and I only had 3060gp from the 6 of us. That would leave 990gp remaining, or 165gp more from each of us, so if you all would be so kind to deduct that from your respective CS's, that would be great! :)
Also, Scott..they mis-sent the receipt, as I cashed in my gp for the time being into black pearls..they listed 6 @ 500gp each but charged me 6000gp when I originally wanted 12 pearls. It is unknown if I'll get an updated receipt or not, so please let me know if you want me to email the incorrect one to you. Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving, and I'll see you all next week! :)

Inside the Warehouse. (DM Jim) Monday November 26th, 2007 7:42:53 PM
Mira, after giving the others the news of them entering, and Shadow slowly slip down the rope. For now you are undetected by anything inside the building. Most of this is because you are currently behind a number of large boxes. As you were coming down the rope you did notice that most of the light was located near the center of the warehouse.
Outside, Conner makes a busting motion with his shield as he looks to Thar and the rest. It is obvious that he is wanting to know if he should bust it in. Kadaz makes the comment outloud as well and offers his ability to bust the door down as well.
Thar on the other hand looks to the lock and shakes his head. As he speaks his hands are already deftly moving over the lock to check it out further. Soon he is working away at it and there is the lightest of clicks as the lock disengages. To everyone near Thar the sounds is thunderously loud to your overly sensitive ears.
Edmund backs up Thar as he works on the lock, offering his assistance if it is needed. The click tells him that it was not needed, but the thought will most likely be appreciated.
Arm is whispering through the message spell to Shadow and all the others for that fact. He lets them know that he is not sure about this door and that if Shadow could get down here soon...it might be for the best. This is before the click of the lock is heard by all...but Shadow and Mira.
Kirsten more or less holds up the rear of the group and keeps an eye out for trouble. A very important job really, unless the group wants to be snuck up on.
Near the large doors that are the main entrance to the warehouse you can hear the sounds of something still moving around. It sounds slightly larger than a normal person...maybe as large as one of those Taurs you have seen before. The voice of the druid shapeshifter can be heard from near the middle of the warehouse, but you cannot make out any of the words that are being said.
Kirsten can feel the waves of evil that pour from the center of the warehouse, not that the group is inside. Some of the others might notice in the darkness that there are runes on almost every inch of the walls, floor and ceiling.
[Map coming soon.]

Inside storage. (DM Jim) Tuesday November 27th, 2007 8:18:25 PM
As both groups slowly get themselves oriented inside of the warehouse, they go about different tasks.
The place reeks of evil to Kirsten and she comments on this as the group moves slowly. Those that are now inside start to look over the runes that literally line the inside of the building. You can make out bits and pieces of languages, pieced together like a gigantic puzzle. Here there is a little bit of draconic, that is mated with elven, then a little dwarven here, with some abyssal there and even a little celestial mixed in as well.
It is obvious that the runes are a number of spells, but of some unholy nature. From what little you can figure out: there are protection spells here, hiding spells and maybe a unhealthy spell or two as well.
For those that peer around the barrels that seem to litter the warehouse, you can see the druid shifter on the other side. He is pacing back and forth, muttering to himself...once in awhile he stops and shakes his arms in the air as if flustered.
You can also hear the sounds of movement and sniffing near the large front doors of the warehouse. The sniffing is followed by a low growl that is menacing and loud enough to echoe off the interior.
Please excuse the locations of some of you. Please feel free to imagine everyone inside the warehouse and hiding near the barrels.

Warehouse rumble. (DM Jim) d20+10=15 Wednesday November 28th, 2007 8:46:57 PM
As the group moves into position and prepares themselves for trouble...you can suddenly smell the stench of decay on the air now. Inside of the open area that the druid is at, you notice that the floor is littered with at least eight bodies. Each body is in a state of decay and most are eaten upon.
As Mira brings her spell to bear upon the druid she can feel a tug on her power. It appears to be located a good ten feet from her and if she had to guess her spell had to pass through something.
From the front of the warehouse comes an actual roar and a huge creature comes creeping into the open. The thing is much like a large pile of goo, but huge in appearance. The amorphous creature starts to talk to itself in what you would consider gibberish...but it is most definitely moving in your direction.
The druid has stopped his pacing and has a smile upon his face. As his head turns you get the idea that he is not effected by your blindness spell. That same smile stays on his face as he shakes his head. "My little puppets have come to play with me...but is it me that they should be worried about." The laughter that comes from him chills your blood and sets the hairs on the back of your neck to standing.
[Mira: Highlight to display spoiler: {"You notice that there is a rather large circle carved into the floor of the warehouse. The druid is standing on the otherside of it...but not inside it. You notice that the runes that make up the circle are all demonic in nature and buring in a violet red.]}

Watching the fun begin and smiling at the fireball, Thar watches his fellow party members take action. But then he sees the circle and the creature leaving it and he frowns. For a brief moment, he tries to see if he can figure out what it is (Know (Planes) = 18)
Then he'll turn and fire anarrow at the druid, hoping to stop it from casting any more spells.

Mira (AC 18, HP 53 - Mage Armor, Invisible, Message, Bless) Thursday November 29th, 2007 10:46:48 PM
The sorcerer's eyes flash in anger. Her spell did...nothing! Quickly plucking an eyelash, she balls it in a bit of gum arabic, moves her hands, and intones the arcane words...then disappears from view!
"There is a circle...a counter spell...or something that seems to confound any magic sent through it." Mira hisses to her companions through the Message spell. Mira moves 5 ft to one side.

While he awaits his fireball to take effect (or not), Arm contemplates on whether to start hacking away at the bodies before they can arise, "Well, we'll see what happens," he thinks.

Warehouse rumble, 2. (DM Jim) d4=3 d20+10=18 d4=4 Sunday December 2nd, 2007 4:40:02 PM
Things are about to get fired up, as the group falls into action.
Edmund is the first to react and give himself some extra protection for the fight that is going to come. He is filled with a bit of horror at the creature that is fast approaching them.
Conner puts a javelin into the air at the many mouthed creature that is closing on them. It strikes the things flesh and sinks in a good ways. The only real reaction that he can tell from the thing, is a new issue of moans from the many mouths on the thing.
Arm makes use of his unpredictable rod and with a little bit of luck, gets a fireball that erupts around the druid.
Kadaz has other problems on his mind as he worries about the bodies coming to life and helping out the enemy. With no other weapons than his axe and shield, he makes himself ready for the onslaught of the creature that approaches.
Shadow put up an arrow that he has been holding onto while the rest of the group prepared. Satisfied as the arrow thuds into his target he is soon putting another arrow into the air as well. Alas, this one glances off the armored skin of the druid and bounds away into the warehouse somewhere.
Thar turns his attention to the circle that is carved into the stone floor of the warehouse, after turning his attention away from the fight. He knows the circle for a holding circle...often used to hold demons or other terrible creatures of some power. Digesting that he puts an arrow into the air as well and it thuds into the druid, who does not seem to be too bothered about anything.
Kirsten moves slightly forward to put herself in defense of the rest and near Kadaz. To aid herself she intones a prayer that gives her the favor of her deity in this battle...then she waits.
Mira is angry and incensed that her spell had no effect. It must have something to do with that holding circle carved into the stone floor. Pulling out the things that she needs, she soon launches another spell...but not at the enemy as she fades from sight.
The large creature continues to move towards the group and as it draws closer to all of you. You feel an odd sensation in your heads as the constant gibbering of the creature seems to be compeling you. As it gets within twenty feet of Kirsten and Kadaz, one of the many mouths stops gibbering and a vile greenish yellow liquid is spurted from that mouth, directed at Kadaz(ranged touch - hit: 18 and damage: 4).
The druid, seeming to have not been bothered a whole lot by spell or arrows, reaches up and pulls out the first of the arrows from his smoking body. "You do disappoint me...you have a test and one that you will fail. Of that I am sure." The smile on his face widens as he watches the creature move in closer and engage the group, then he begins to laugh. There is a flash of green light as he touches his own body and the parts of flesh that you can see, begin to harden into what appears to be bark.
[Everyone - Will DC 15 or be effected as if by a Confusion spell for 2 rounds.]
[Kadaz - Fort DC 18 or be blinded for 3 rounds.]

Edmund (HP: 38/38, AC: 16) Message, Bless, Mage Armour, Resistance d20+6=23 d20+10=28 Sunday December 2nd, 2007 11:47:35 PM
The gibbering of the slimy beast, so much like Edmund's own endless prattle, doesn't affect the half-elf mage one jot. (Will Save: 23)
After the initial shock wears off, Edmund peers at the slobbering entity and realises what it is. "A gibbering mouther!" he exclaims to the others. "Quite dangerous. It pulls people in and eats them with all of its mouths! I think it can spit acid, too. Be careful!" (Knowledge Arcana: 28)
Edmund casts another protective spell on himself, this one to enhance his natural resistances, and continues his backwards movement another five feet, trying to put space between himself and both enemies.
((DM Note: I corrected an error on the L.0 spell list below which had Edmund knowing two Message spells, both unused for the day. I forgot to change this line from the last battle. It is corrected now. Edmund's single Message spell was used up earlier in the combat day.))

Arm d20+6=18 d20+8=12 d100=1 Monday December 3rd, 2007 5:54:44 AM
Arm shakes his head to ward off the effects of the creature, which he can't quite seem to place (will=18, knowledge arcana=12).
Hoping for the best again, he once again points the wand at the 'druid', but no visible result manifests itself (01=Slow creature pointed at for 10 rounds (Will DC 15 negates)).
Kadaz (AC 26, 28 vs evil, HP 82/86) d20+3=13 d20+9=27 d100=52 d20+17=18 Monday December 3rd, 2007 6:30:22 AM
As the acid burns Kadaz he shakes his head, flinging little drops into the air. His eyes clear and he catches a good view of the advancing creature.
[i]OOC: is the gibbering mouther's confusion a spell-like ability? If so, Kadaz saves, thanks to +2 dwarf resistance. If not, Kadaz fails. [i]
[u]if Kadaz saves[u] Kadaz turns on the advancing creature and moves towards it. He swings but his foot slips on a bit of the acid on the floor. His axe harmlessly swishes through the air near his head. (natural 1 to hit)
[u]if Kadaz fails to save[u] The hideous sight of the advancing blob of goo combined with the inane, incessant noise proves too much for the stout dwarf. "NOOOOOO!!!!" Kadaz screams, trying to drive that noise out of his head. He turns and heads for the exit, pushing his way past any who try to stop him. Once outside he runs.

Shadow (AC 24/19 HP 47/47) d20+17=25 d20+14=34 Monday December 3rd, 2007 7:19:38 AM
Shadow is not sure just how much damage he can do the monster headed for the rest of the party, so he will put his bow away and start heading around the outside of the warehouse to see if he can get behind the druid.
Conner [AC=25, HP=85] Bull's Strength; Bless d20+3=10 d20+3=17 d20+13=33 d20+13=31 d20+8=11 d6+6=9 d6+6=7 Monday December 3rd, 2007 7:38:40 AM
Conner reaches for another javelin just as the disgusting creature's thoughts begin to wash over him. The fighter is almost overcome by the gibbering, but with a final mental effort manages to throw off the creatures thoughts [Will Save = 10 / 17 used a hero point]
Conner hurls two javelins in succession at the advancing foe. The first strikes deep into the core of the creature [Hit AC=33/31 critical for 9+7=16 HP]. The second javelin completely misses the target.
OOC you may need to adjust down depending on whether or not Kadaz is in melee with creature - shouldn't change things]
