Arminas - 2nd post
Saturday January 5th, 2008 6:31:19 PM

"Yes, Hildy and Lincoln will know. It will be nice to eat a few pies and sleep in a bed before I walk back into the Culverwood."

Arminas coaxes Darkfire forward, as he can almost smell the pies now.

Lorth
Monday January 7th, 2008 8:13:32 AM

Lorth smiles at the mention of Hildy and Lincoln, it is good to be able to see them once again he thinks. He is also looking forward to seeing Caerthon again as it always is good to see one of his father's friends and Lorth considers him to be sort of a mentor. Striving to be as great a man as he.

Magpie
Monday January 7th, 2008 1:11:57 PM

The group rides into Magpie, the streets are as busy as normal withh those calling out thier wares and those travelling along thier daily chores to purchase them. Hildy and Lincoln are readily located and both give the party warm welcomes. "Paladin Caerthon?" they ask in unison, Hildy continues, "Yes of course. As the new Reeve, he has, been forced if you ask him, to take up residence within the Manor house just across the river and to the north. But you can't go til you sit yourselves down and have a proper meal and a drink." With that declaration, both halflings begin to shoo and pull the various Pc's to a place at one of the outdoor tables.

"C'mon c'mon, down from those horses." Lincoln chides, getting directly in the path of Harvest's mount. "He's not going anywhere and everyone knows you speak better when your stomach is not. We'll not be taking a no on this." now wagging a finger mockingly of a chiding parent.

Malgant
Monday January 7th, 2008 4:21:41 PM

"Actually Arminas, Lady Dulcet said he would not be able to perform the rite that we interupted for another 50 years. The rite that would have sacrificed Ivy for a body for Medonious to inhabit. That will not stop his noncorporeal form which we have already seen wreak havok on us and others."
With the halflings Chattering around them as they reach Magpie crossing Malgant cannot help but have his spirits lifted. These good folk carry on as if the Medonius's of the world never darken their door. The Taur was moved to hope that one such as Medonius never would do so as well. People needed a place like this to get away and see the good in life from time to time. He remembered their last visit as they passed through to Roweena and it took little prodding to get him to sit down to one of the halfling's meals.

Arminas
Monday January 7th, 2008 5:07:52 PM

Arminas seems to have interpreted the words of the Cat Dulcet differently, and shrugs at Malgant's words.

"Well, you would know more of ghosts and undead creatures than I. I have only ever met a few, and that is more than I ever care to meet again. Once I meet with Caerthon though I believe my service will be at an end. Leave it to others to fight ghosts, I prefer to fight those that bleed."

It doesn't take any urging for Arminas to hop down and eat at Lincoln's suggestion.

Sitting at the appointed table, he says:

"Ah, it is good to be back. Whatever you have prepared, I am not particular and know it all to be fine food."

Any
Monday January 7th, 2008 6:16:45 PM

"I had thought as you did Arminas, that the Ghost could not incorporate for another 50 years, but I too know little of ghosts. For now Hildy's pies await, and I find myself hungry."

He lifts his arms to Harvest, to help her from atop the large horse Fryda, even though he knows she does not need the assistance. Then taking her by the arm, he enters the Inn.

Davros
Monday January 7th, 2008 8:06:01 PM

Davros sits down for the meal with his companions. He cannot help but smile at the cheerful halflings and even Whiskers seems to be amused as the rat sits on Davros' shoulder and bobs his head as if laughing at all the jokes.

Bralin
Monday January 7th, 2008 8:51:13 PM

Bralin ponders the various discussions taking place around him.

Arminas and Harvest prepare to strike out on their own.

Medonius may or may not be thwarted for the next 50 years.

The location of the two Council Members Dulcet sent them to find.

The dwarf has not yet formulated a complete opinion on any of these questions. Additionally, he has not been (directly) asked. And so it it that the dwarf rides wordlessly behind the group, observing the back trail and scanning the flanks for an attack that never comes.

Entering Magpie Crossing, the black bearded dwarf smiles grandly, and nods a greeting to the halfling propieters of the Shadfly Inn. Bralin allows himself to be pulled to a table, and avails themselves of the ample hospitality.

"How fares the town?" he asks Hildy between bites. The question is straightforward, built upon the tenseness that existed the last time the group was here.

Harvest
Monday January 7th, 2008 8:55:38 PM

The Shadfly Inn, so much like a slice of pie in its shape, set in the crook of a Y in the road, cannot help but bring a smile to the face of Harvest Moon. She reaches out her arms and slides from the saddle into Anthos' embrace as they arrive at the front door. Then, her face beaming, she detaches from him to wrap the halfling woman in her own embrace.

The urchin stands next to Harvest, partly shielding himself from Andrath. "5 gold pieces" he blurts out. "I'll tell you all I know for 5 gold pieces."

"Five gold pieces is a lot of money, Kiel," she had said. Later, after a dangerous journey into the Dread, disaster narrowly diverted, and betrayal by Captain Greenblade, she had come upon the boy again.

"Hello, Kiel, have you given thought to what you would spend five gold coins upon?"

"I work for my coin now," he had said. "Lincoln says I can have a place to stay and eat in the kitchen, an he'll pay me if I stay with him 'n Hildy and help out around the inn. I figger I'll save up for a bow and some arrowheads, and maybe a dog."

She had wound up giving young Kiel the five extra gold coins.

"Hildy, is Kiel still about? Such a great deal has happened since we last met. This is Davros Sapphiredge and his friend Whiskers. The noble elf is Paladin Florin Jadenth. And this is Malgant, he is a Protector of Domi. Or," she pauses, "aspires to be one."

"Lincoln," Harvest asks as they are ushered to the outdoor tables, "Madame Dulcet of the Pitchfork Council in Jarlwolf said that we were to meet with Two members of the Pitchfork Council who live near here. One, is, of course, Caerthon. But I do not know who might be the second. Do you know of another member of the Council who lives near Magpie Crossing?"

Lorth
Tuesday January 8th, 2008 8:51:49 AM

Lorth rides in silence. When they get to Magpie crossing he dismounts and follows the halflings into the inn.

(OOC: Well it seems out game has been sacked. Thank you all for all the wonderful adventures over the years. I'll be moving on to another game as soon as Jerry works out where I am going.)

Any
Tuesday January 8th, 2008 6:08:29 PM

So many conversations. So much going on, and so much good food! Any soaks up the atmosphere of everything, enjoying the time given to relax and just be.

He begins to hum softly, but does not sing, trying to form words to go with his thoughts and music.

Shadfly Inn in Magpie Crossing
Tuesday January 8th, 2008 7:45:26 PM

The halflings start bringing out food and chattering up a storm. The town has been moving along quite the same as always. The new Reeve is very popular with most everyone and really everything hre seems completely untouched by the recent events the Swords of Light have had to endure. Lincoln answers Malgant with his opinion, a fact he restates many times as to prevent any confusion.
"Pie to peanuts its the silver haired elf that lives down past teh Golden Sheaf Bakery. An he's had himself some company just the other day."
"Say that's right." chimes in Hildy "Some soldier fellas from the looks of thier equipment and mounts. They pounded through the other morning, you'd think Marteus himself was pressing them."
A young man sitting nearby is nodding and adds, "Yea they stopped at Point's place for, oh say maybe an hour and then, [he makes hores galloping noises] off they shot further down the road. I've heard there's an outpost a few days out that way and off the road at that. Secret Base [he winks]." the stranger returns to his coffee and mincemeat pie.

On the conversation of Medonious and whether or not he could return sooner than 50 years, malgant and Lorth have the greatest field of knowledge. Both believe that Madame Dulcet's 50 year statement only pertains to that particular ceremony. It is very likely he was banished back to his original haunt. With Itzal's death his spirit is again subject to its original boundaries. A location unfortunately that no one knows, but one that Itzal must have frequented enough to eventually form a pact with Medonious and thus allowing him broader fields to roam.

"Kiel is still about Magpie" Hildy answers cheerfully. "Though he does not work for us any longer. He found a truer friend at the mill." Seeing a bit of a puzzle come to Harvest's eyes, Hildy smiles broadly and beams, "The kind with four legs and fur."

Florin Jadenth
Tuesday January 8th, 2008 9:18:47 PM

(OOC:I'm sorry to see this game going to be closed then. I wonder where Florin will end up. I hope those of us who wanted to continue can atleast get the same game.)

Florin listens to what is said and when Harvest introduces him to Hilday, he nods and smiles to her, "Greetings and is nice to meet you." Florin enjoys the meal and listens to what is said otherwise during it as he pobders what the groups course will be to come.

Harvest
Tuesday January 8th, 2008 9:33:58 PM

A wistful smile drifts across Harvest Moon's face.

"It is good to know that Kiel is doing well." She reaches for a piece of crust, the last remaining upon her plate. Thoughtfully she munches upon one end.

"We should introduce ourselves to the elf who lives beyond the Golden Sheaf Bakery," she says. "And though Reeve Caerthon knows us already, we should inform him that we have come from Jarlwolf as soon as possible, I think."

"I wonder who the armed horsemen might have been," she wonders. "Mailed Fist?"

Davros
Tuesday January 8th, 2008 11:02:26 PM

"Maybe the other council members can shed some light on the Medonius mystery?"

OOC- Jerry said if you want to move char forward to a new game together, to vote as such or email him.

Let's all try to sign the Swords of Light up for a future tap game. Anyone?

Lorth
Wednesday January 9th, 2008 7:26:04 AM

Lorth eats heartily and listens to all the conversations. "I do believe Medonius will be confined to his normal haunt for the next 50 years, however it would be nice to put him to rest if possible."

Bralin
Wednesday January 9th, 2008 8:33:17 AM

Between sweet rolls, Bralin nods his agreement to Lorth's statement. Unchecked spirits roaming about is not a good thing.

"Mayhap ye can find a Grim to assist," he notes to the paladin of Gargul.

"We should see Caerthon right away," the dwarf opines. "His presence will help us convince the Councilperson of our veracity."

Should no one else offer a contrary opinion, the dwarf rises to visit the paladin.

Any
Wednesday January 9th, 2008 6:21:19 PM

"If all are in agreement then, we should proceed to report as soon as we have finished eating. Then maybe we can decide what to do next."

Any takes another bite of his meat pastry, and then looks for some of the apple pie that Hildy usually has around.

Arminas
Wednesday January 9th, 2008 7:27:50 PM

Arminas finishes off the meat and fruit pies on his plate, and beams.

"Possibly the last fine meal I will eat for a while. No better way to get a send off than with Hildy pies. Okay, lets go see Caerthon. Ready when you are Bralin."

Davros
Wednesday January 9th, 2008 7:54:45 PM

Davros says little, but nods his agreement at being ready to look for the councilman.

The new Reeve of Magpie Crossing
Wednesday January 9th, 2008 10:18:56 PM

The group finishes thier meal and then saddles back up for the short ride to the Manor house to see Caerthon. The paladin answers the door himself in short order after the group arrives and invites everyone in. He quickly confirms the residence and position on the council of Eledrynn Lill. Appointed by a group of the elves from Culverwood that have been working to establish a new home outside of Parnoths reach. He then excuses himself for a moment while he dispatches a runner to Eledrynn's residence to bring him to the manor house so that both of them could hear the Swords tale at the same time.

The silverhaired elf arrives within the hour and all adjourn to the small council chambers. Nodding for the Swords of Light to begin, Caerthon sits back with a stoic expression. For his part, Eledrynn, seems most interested in Davros's take on the matter.

Florin Jadenth
Wednesday January 9th, 2008 11:39:06 PM

Florin takes a moment before the group arrives where they are heading and speaks up, "I been waiting on this for the right time and I feel a change is coming for some reason and some with the loss of Montgomery, I feel this is a good time to do this before any others leave."

Florin moves his backpack and pulls out the HHH from it which he pulls out a wrapped item and hands one to each person of the group, "Most of you already know I have been trying to keep a tradition alive from my family. Gift day was not long ago now and I been holding on to these. I hope each of you will enjoy the gift and it will remind you of the times we been together and all no matter where we all may go in the future."

In Bralin's package he will find a well made silver belt buckle showing the sign of his clan on it.

Harvest finds a well made silver hairpin with a small symbol of Gargul and Warrd on it.

Any finds a well made leather carrying case for his instrument. The snaps on it made of silver.

Arminas finds a small well made leather collar for Ewan. The buckle on the collar made of silver and inscribed with the elven word for friend.

Malgant finds a well made silver bracelet with the symbol of Domi inscribed on it.

Davros finds 2 scroll cases with silver designings on them showing a dragon breathing fire.

Lorth finds a well made sheath with silverworkings on it that are in the design of the most well known form of Gargul.

Florin coughs abit at Arnimas's gift and speaks alittle worried he might not enjoy it, "Your a hard person to decide on something for and since you best friend is the forest and your friend there I thought it was fitting."

With this done, Florin heads to the meeting with the others. He sits and listens to what is said and watches for the time being.

Lorth
Thursday January 10th, 2008 7:32:50 AM

"Thank you Florin, it was a pleasure to journey with you." Lorth bows to his friend then carefully packs away his gift, to be examined and used later. He then goes with his friends to the reeves place of residence.

Harvest
Thursday January 10th, 2008 11:46:47 AM

"Thank you Paladin Florin." Harvest Moon admires the beautiful hairpin. "But I hope that you are not offended if I do not wear it. My hair is far to short to hold such a pin." She sighs. "Someday, maybe, I will grow my hair longer. It is a thought that I have had for some time now."

Again she sighs. "Someday."

At the Manor House, Harvest Moon remains quiet until the second member of the Pitchfork Council arrives.

"We have traveled a long road to reach this place," she begins before launching into a retelling of events. From the party at the home of the Jerse's to the journey to Rowena to the battle on Wolf Hill to events at Madame Dulcet's and finally to Magpie Crossing, Harvest weaves the tale with her companions.

"Madame Dulcet has sent us to you now," she says at last. "We had not questioned her intent, hoping instead to learn from you why she might have sent us here. Hopefully it will be to gain the means to send Medonius on to his final rest with Gargul and to restore Madame Dulcet to a human form."

Bralin
Thursday January 10th, 2008 3:43:41 PM

Bralin nods his thanks to Florin, and places the buckle carefully in his pack.

At the Manor House, the dwarf takes up his accustomed position near Lorth and waits for the talkative members of his group to share the tale.

Any
Thursday January 10th, 2008 6:15:17 PM

Any accepts the gift from Florin.

"My friend, it is a great tradition that your family has. So much has gone on that the season had slipped my mind. This case will go beautifully with your gift of last year. I fear I have nothing to give in return except my thanks. You find me in your debt. Do not hesitate to cal on me to redeem it if you are ever in need."

The bard reverently takes his lute, given him the year before by Florin, and places it within the case. Then admires the gifts given to each of the others.

When they finally reach the councilman's home, and after the wait for Eledrynn, he listens as Harvest tells the story, adding comment if asked to clarify what has occurred.

Davros
Thursday January 10th, 2008 8:25:03 PM

OOC- did we meet Eledrynn when we helped the elves set up that town?

Davros seems rather pleased that he not only has a captive audience for his ramblings but also an attentive one as well. "Eledrynn, do you have any specific questions we could answer?"

"As for the events, I will give some details that others may not have known."

"Madam Dulcet claimed her ability to transfer her essense into her cat familiar was 'no trick'. When I asked her about it, she seemed to imply she would not tell me how it was done. I wonder why?"

"Something very odd happened upon Wolf Hill. After the battle, we searched the area to make sure Ivy was not the only prisoner. I had set my rat familiar down to ask him to look about. He became frightened. I have never felt such fear before. Do you know what may have startled him so?"

"One thing which has puzzled me greatly. Itzal was but an apprentice at the school he attended. Yet he routinely cast spells I have only myself recently been able to master. How did he do it?"

"Medonius perplexes me as well. He was a ghost correct? Yet at Itzal's birthday party, he was able to trip some of the guests which had insulted Itzal. How was he able to physically interact with them? For a time I had thought he was an imp until he was revealed when Itzal attacked us on the road."

"We seem to have encountered numerous persons around the area of Jarlwolf who have been charmed. We have not had a chance to investigate this yet, but I felt it important to mention."

"I have Itzal's spellbook here, Eledrynn. If you have any gift with magic, you are welcome to examine it."

"There seems to be a great deal of Mailed Fist activity in the area. I wonder if there is any connection. I don't seem to recall them being present before Itzal's party, and I doubt if Lord Adrik Jerse hired them just for the sake of harassing us. They were here before Itzal's death, and always seemed to be holding something back when we spoke to them."

Davros sits back for a moment in concentration, trying to remember any other important details.

Davros
Thursday January 10th, 2008 8:29:42 PM

"Thank you Florin. You are a good friend. Just make sure that no matter what happens, we all get wedding invitations."

OOC-maybe we could do a tap game for the wedding with the whole Wold able to attend?

Questions and questions, Oh and maybe an answer or two
Thursday January 10th, 2008 9:49:20 PM

The elf listens intently to Harvest and then to Davros. Several points casuse Eledrynn to nod, seemingly to himself, but Davros suspects there is another in the room or listening in.

Caerthon, in contrast does not seem to have much thought to himself on any of it. He listens all the same, but his face is a blank slate. The conversation of Ghost, witchcraft and arcane might well beyond his knowledge. Until the story involves The Mailed Fist, here he perks up. Caerthon looks to Eledrynn and at the others nod, he speaks.

"I can address the presence of the Mailed Fist. They have a recruit and training center about a day to the east and off the nroth track road. Very difficult to find unless you know it is there. They have been in the area so to speak for some time. I imagine Adrik hired them not to harass you but at the behest of his sister after the party. I do not know the man, but is sounds as if the Mailed Fist Thumb you met was looking into you. Given no altercation I would also imagine that investigation produced a favorable report to Adrik. To the arguement heard between the two, hard to say. Sounds like conflicting orders and i would also say the Lance Corporal was operating above his rank. Special commission of some kind I would say. I will pay the Mailed Fist a visit as Reeve. They are close enough to Magpie, well within my right. Or if one of you prefer, I will draft a letter for you to go in my stead."

Eledrynn nods silently to hmself a few times as Caerthon speaks adn when the paladin finishes, his eyes catch the light as he turns to Davros directly. "I will lend you what information we suspect from your story and questions. And yes I would like to take a little time to examine the book." He holds out his hand and places the book in his lap. The book opens and the pages slowly turn, though the elf maintains speaking and looking to Davros and sometimes to one of the others. Spot DC 15Highlight to display spoiler: {a small serpant can be seen just peeking out of his tunic and apparently reading the book}

"On the matter of Madame Dulcett and her current state? I can say we're as lost as any of you. The working of witches is a mystery we have yet to unravel. Your familiar may have found himself in a fading emenation of powerful evil magic. That would explain his reaction and would be left for a few minutes in the area with such a powerful ritual as you describe being wrought."

"Medonious fits the manifestations and limits normally attributed to Ghost. He is more likely one than not. An arcane ghost could have done those things you saw at the party, Telekinesis comes to mind immediately. The charming should be looked into, though with Itzal gone and the most likely candidate of caster." he leaves the sentence at that and shrugs.

He then asks and most note the only person he is asking is Davros by his body language, "So what are your future plans now?

Caerthon sits back and looks with a rising eyebrow at Davros and what his responce may be. It seems there may have indeed been a plan in place when Madame Dulcett sent teh party to seek out these particular councilmen at Magpie Crossing. He puts a holding hand to any others and begs for thier indulgance just now for Eledrynn's sake and the question.

Harvest  d20+14=20
Thursday January 10th, 2008 10:07:36 PM

Harvest Moon eyes the little snake with a tip of her head. Poking from Councilman Eledrynn's sleeve, it seems for all the world to be reading the book. Only from the corner of her eye does she note Paladin Caerthon as he raises his hand to indicate a pause. She turns her eyes from Councilman Eledrynn and his very interesting snake to look in the direction of Davros Sapphiredge, and she awaits his answer.

Davros
Thursday January 10th, 2008 11:33:08 PM

Davros shifts uncomfortably in his seat. He is put on the spot and is not entirely comfortable with it.

"It seems the current investigation is at an end, save for laying Medonius' spirit to final rest. To be perfectly honest, I'm not sure. I feel as though my knowledge and skills, such as they are to be inadequate for serving the people of this area and my companions most of all."

"I had considered applying to study at the school in Rowena for a time, or maybe even traveling to the Star Mages Guild. However it seems to me you may have something in particular in mind. What would that be?"

Arminas  d20+17=24
Thursday January 10th, 2008 11:54:36 PM

OOC: Sorry, I missed posting. Daniel just beat me tonight.

To Florin when the gift was presented:
"You are too kind, and are a credit to the elven race. Ewan is indeed my friend, and this will strengthen our bond. She is hunting now, but I will give it to her later." Arminas then slip it around his wrist, to keep it safe.

At the meeting:
Harvest and Davros seem to be handling this well, so Arminas sits and listens. He looks with curiosity at the serpent peaking through Eledrynn's jacket. Talk of politics, militias and ghosts cause Arminas' mind to wander.

Running through the Culverwood, the ancient trees seem to part for him. Alone, he breathes deeply in the still air and catches the smells of wild mushrooms and mosses. Life is good, and worries are few. The distant memory of children trapped in Koshe Mar trouble him, but soon the forest blots out all concerns.

Lorth
Friday January 11th, 2008 7:58:53 AM

Lorth listens to all the talking attentively. His eyes pass back and forth following the conversation like a ball in a tennis match. When the conversation pauses he looks to Davros to make his final statement and draw it to a conclusion.

Malgant  d20+5=11
Friday January 11th, 2008 12:09:09 PM

OOC
Sorry I missed a couple days, things got hectic here.

IC
Malgant is taken aback at the gift presented to him by Florin. In his home, gifts were only exchanged as a sign of accomplishment, such as when he was made a priest."Thank you Florin. I will keep this always to remember the openess with which you all recieved me when you found me a prisoner. Thank you."
Malgant then listens to the telling of the tale of Medonius. He allows the others to tell it, especially since this councilman has apparently come to hear it from Davros. The only point he disagrees with is the assesment that Itzal is responsible for the charmed citizens in and around Jarlwolf. " Charming a person to his will is not an Itzallike act. Itzal was a lonely boy who no one particularly liked. If he were one to charm folks with magic I would think we would have seen more evidence of that before the people in Jarlwolf. He was a summoner, he created friends and minions through summoning magic. Charming other to do his bidding just does not feel right.

Bralin
Friday January 11th, 2008 3:33:02 PM

Bralin finds he is having trouble following the line of conversation. The report seems to have become an interview, and the dwarf isn't sure how to respond.

In the end, he sticks with what he knows, remains silent, and continues to observe.

Any  d20+10=28
Friday January 11th, 2008 6:53:26 PM

Any makes note of the movement near Eledrynn's waist, and is quite interested to see the little serpent "reading" the spell book. The ways of magic users neveer ceases to amaze the Bard. Even though he has the use of a selection of the words of power by which he achieves magic, true wizards have always confounded him.

He pays close attention to all that happens, and he too awaits Davros' reply.

Invitations Extended
Saturday January 12th, 2008 2:22:19 PM

Eledrynn eyes Davros closely as he speaks and those with a sharp eye, note the snake is doing likewise. After what seems to be a very long moment of complete silence, the elf speaks. "Davros, I can save you from any such journies. I do so by formerally extending to you invitation to join the Star Mages Guild. I will sponsor and mentor you and provide access to the Star Mage Tower in New Elenna."

Upon Davros's acceptance a light clamor of applause can be heard and Eledrynn smiles as he glances up to an unseen audience. He then scans the rest of the Swords, "Yes this had been previously discussed by myself and madame Dulcet. Well before any such matters with this Itzal and Medonious occurred. Dulcet believed it imperative this step be taken, in spite of all other forces at work. I agree with her on that. With that concluded we can address our ghost issue. Having one as powerful as this one seems to be, is nothing but bad for this region of ours."

Caethorn chimes in his agreement, "Yes and we are fortunate in a way, had he won over somone with influence on the council or a splinter group. We could have found ourselves at strong odds and in danger of breaking the valley."

Malgant's words gives both Councilmen pause and they agree. "Unfortuantely all we can do is speculate and try to match a theory to the results."

Caethorn speaks, "We will get word to the other members of the council. You have done a great service for your people. We leave it up to you to decide for yourselves where to go next. I have been where you are now my young hereos" he pauses and chuckles a bit. "oung in experience master dwarf and elf of course is what I meant." He then continues, "I have ben where you are and I see the sorrow and light in some of your eyes and faces. The unknown future, the parting of company, the excitement of new beginnings. Both Eledrynn and I offer choices, hopes and possibilites for you individually and as a whole. You can accept them or choose your very own path. The Pitchfork council will all know you from this day forward. We will stand by you and defend you as you have done for our people."

Harvest
Saturday January 12th, 2008 3:43:43 PM

"Davros Sapphiredge!" Harvest Moon claps her hands together. "That is the most wonderful of news. I am so very happy for you." Her smile is radiant. With joy, yes, but also her smile is radiant with pride. "It is good to see paths, fresh and inviting, open for well deserving friends."

The smile drops into the normal smooth lines of her young face.

"I see that there will be no word soon upon the location of Medonius, nor will there be need of persons to seek out and defeat his evil."

"Anthos, if I may borrow a dagger, please." Harvest Moon's eyes cross ever so slightly as she reaches to her forehead and grasps the crest of hair that dangles over her eyes. With the blade, she cuts a lock and ties the fine strands into a knot. "I will remain in Jarlwolf for Paladin Florin's wedding to Ivy. After that, I will return to the Contested Kingdoms. If you should wish to find me, you may use my hair with which to scry. If you summon me, I will return."

She turns to return the blade, but instead, catches up Any's hand in both of hers. She raises it up to touch his fingers to her cheek.

"How can I expect you go accompany me, Anthos? Life in the Contested Kingdom is difficult. There are so many people who suffer, without homes, driven to and fro by the many wars. So many people in need of aid. There is much injustice in the name of greed, in the name of power, and sometimes even in the name of good. How is it that I can wish you to accompany me into such a place." The wetness of tears touches his hand. "And yet, I so very much do, Anthos. I wish with all my heart for you to wish to come with me."

"How is it that such a thing as love can be so selfish?"

Davros
Sunday January 13th, 2008 4:45:33 PM

Davros is overwhelmed. With a huge smile, "I accept!"

"Thank you Harvest. I only hope that I can live up to expectations."

Arminas
Monday January 14th, 2008 11:21:02 AM

Arminas snaps out of his trance as he realizes something important is going on. Davros, who he met in Koshe Marr has come a long way!

"Davros, that is wonderful. You will become a powerful mage, and I know you will be a wise one as well. I remember when we met you in Koshe Marr you were studying the strange plants that grow in the dim light there. Your curious nature will lead you to great knowledge. I hope we meet again. When I am done with my wanderings in the Culverwood I may again seek to travel the Wold. Hopefully, I will not let the Culverwood erase all memory of time from my mind and I will come out when you are still a young man."

Turning to Caethorn he adds:
"The WLA assigned me to join the Swords of Lights to find and rescue you long ago. I have done that and much more. Unless there is more required of me, I will leave to go back to my home and seek healing."

Bralin
Monday January 14th, 2008 1:58:41 PM

Bralin smiles and give Davros a congratulatory nod. The mage appears quite happy about the invitation, and the dwarf suspects he will do well.

As to what to do next? Tis a question to be answered later. Bralin maintains his silence and waits for his comrades.

Any
Monday January 14th, 2008 5:52:59 PM

"Congratulations Davros! The stars seem to shine on you, and I know that you will show your worth."

His hands are pulled to the face of his lady, and Harvest asks that he go with her into the Contested Kingdoms.

"And why should I not go with you wherever you go, if you wish it. I had thought that you wanted to walk your path alone, but if you will have a poor bard as a traveling companion, then I apply for the position without regret. Arminas goes to where his heart dwells, Davros follows his own into the tower of the Star Mage, why should I not follow my own heart where it travels, for it travels with you. Let us go into those kingdoms, and help those who need our help. Together, how can we fail?"

He draws her into an enbrace and kiss, then holds her a step away.

"Will you have me?"

Harvest
Monday January 14th, 2008 8:31:38 PM

"But Anthos, to leave ... I did not think that you would ... "

His mouth stops her words, and the Wold rises in a wave of such happiness that it feels to burst her heart.

"Anthos." The tears stream down her face as she looks up into his. "Anthos." That is the best that she can manage before she buries herself within him, clutching him fiercely and sobbing into his chest.

The two members of the Pitchfork Council rise and as they do, the doors open and a young man enters with a small set of drinks. A Crystal goblet of elven wine, a solid oak tankard of dwarven ale, a oversized Silver mug of Purple wine, a set of crystal flutes of chapagne, two smaller crystal glasses of a red wine and a trio of thick frosted glasses of lager.

"To friendship and the comrades in arms that you have become. No matter the distance." Both Caethorn with one lager and Eledrynn with one of the red wines hoist thier glasses.

Harvest
Tuesday January 15th, 2008 10:43:13 AM

Harvest Moon reaches up for one of the long thin glasses filled with a very interesting bubbling amber liquid and takes it by its delicate stem. Tears of joy still wet upon her face, she turns to Anthos and raises the up the beverage in toast.

"Bring peace with you, whatever path you may follow." She turns the glass to the others, companions all.

Arminas
Tuesday January 15th, 2008 10:48:56 AM

Reaching up, Arminas takes the goblet of elven wine and brings it slowly up to his face. Breathing deeply, the scent of the wine brings memories of happy events long ago. He takes a long slow slip, and the cares of the last few days start to melt away.

He lifts his glass:

"To friends, wherever they may be."

Bralin
Tuesday January 15th, 2008 3:06:02 PM

The dwarf grabs hold of the oaken tankard and lifts it high.

"Food and ale,
Gold and gems,
A noble cause,
and stout companions."

Bralin drains half the mug in one great swallow.

Florin Jadenth
Tuesday January 15th, 2008 10:24:13 PM

Florin will take one of the smaller glasses of a drink since he isn't a big drinker either way. He listens to the toasts and raises his glass, "To good friends and the roads that lay ahead of us all."

Florin drinks from his glass and looks down abit thinking before speaking his mind, "I'm thinking after the wedding with Ivy that I might see if she would like to go to the Floating City. I don't know if my family will attend the wedding but they should meet Ivy." Florin shrugs some as this is a hard decision for him, he hates to leave the group later when that time comes but he also feels he should do this also and maybe he will see old friend's again. He does smile and look to Bralin, "I'm sure the Shields would enjoy to hear your doing well to Bralin and I can tell them of the noble companions and friends I've made here."

Any
Tuesday January 15th, 2008 10:47:06 PM

Any takes the other glass paired with Harvest's. The Champagne bubbles rise in the glass, and burst over the tastebuds of the bard.

"Ale for those just met,
wine for companions,
Beer to relax,
Whiskey to forget,
and Champagne for love.

Good friends can drink them all."

Glasses are hoisted, toasts are made and the group says their farewells. In short order Ederynn takes his leave and tells Davros that when the mage is ready he will be as well. His small house is located just down the eastern road. "There is no hurry. Say your good byes."

Caethorn escorts the Swords from the house and bids them well. He has to draft a letter and has a Mailed Fist outpost to visit. The invitation being open if any wish to accompany him.

As for the rest of the Swords, the open roads and calls of the Wood and adventure lie stretched out as the endless sky.

The blue skies up above stretch so far and wide.

Harvest Moon hooks one arm through that of Anthos. And before he can escape, she hooks the other through that of Arminas Calaelen.

"Will you not remain, Arminas Calaelen," she asks, "until Florin and Ivy are wed?"

Arminas
Wednesday January 16th, 2008 3:12:29 PM

With the scent and taste of the elven wine and memories of the Culverwood flooding his mind, it takes a moment for Arminas to realize that Harvest is speaking to him. Another moment to realize that she has latched onto him. He looks toward Any with what can only be interpreted as jealousy, and then into the eyes of the small girl turned woman. It happens so fast with humans, he is almost taken aback by the changes he has seen in her.

"I suppose the Woods will wait, they always wait. While I will make no difference for them, they will make all the difference to me. I will wait until the wedding, and then my heart calls me back home.

Florin, how soon do you wed?"

Bralin
Wednesday January 16th, 2008 5:25:29 PM

Bralin shakes his head at Caethorn's invitation. He has his own plans.

Turning to Florin, he awaits the paladin's response to the wedding date.

Florin Jadenth
Wednesday January 16th, 2008 5:29:31 PM

Florin walks out with everyone when the little gathering breaksup and looks to everyone again as he still hates to see the group going their serperate ways but he also knows that change can be good in the long run.

Hearing Arminas's question, Florin smiles, "I'm hopeing to right away to be honest. It seems everything is finished as far as we can do for the time being and Ivy's father should be back soon from his trip. I'm not sure if Jella has arrived from the Float or not but if not then she will meet Ivy when I return there and if Ivy agrees to go with me."

Florin smiles to his friends, "You all are like family. We have seen and been through alot together, even if I was not with the group from the beginning."

Florin can't help but look to Bralin and grins some as he thinks about the dwarf as his best man, will be interesting to see how his stout friend goes about this. Bralin has always seem to have his own unique way of things, "No worries too Bralin. I'll see that there is some dwarven ale for you after all this."

Florin thinks and frowns abit, "I hope the council members might beable to help with the Jerse's though. I really don't want no disgruntled guests or uninvited ones."

Any
Wednesday January 16th, 2008 5:55:48 PM

Any is just enjoying the sunshine and being with good friends.

"Don't worry friend Florin, we will all be here for the wedding, and would not let anything spoil your day."

Davros
Wednesday January 16th, 2008 9:10:14 PM

After finishing the toast and listening to the conversation, an idea comes to Davros.

"I have a proposal. Let us all agree to meet again in Jarlwolf after a period of time. Say in one or two years? Even as we go our separate ways for now, when we meet again, perhaps fortunes will change again and some cause will need for us to gather together to oppose it."

"There is always the unfinished business in Koshe-Marr, if nothing else."

"I will remain for the wedding if Eledrynn allows for it. Florin, set up a meeting with Ivy for me. Maybe I will be able to come up with some magical lights for decorations? I'm sure I could come up with something to amuse your guests. :)"

"Hmmmmmm. I shall have to start thinking about a wedding gift as well..."

A bright smile beams from Harvest Moon's face. "Yes, we will all be there for your wedding, Paladin Florin."

"And afterwards, you will go to Plateau City, Davros Sapphiredge? That is where the Star Mage Tower is. Is it not?" (Knowledge Geography 24) "And I have heard of a teleport platform from Plateau City to the Floating City. I think that in this way we can find you, Paladin Florin."

She looks to Bralin Stoneminder who has said little of where he intends to go. Protector Malgant has been particularly silent, as has Paladin Lorth.
