The tunnel
Tuesday January 22nd, 2008 8:55:14 PM

Seeing that everyone is ready to leave Guido says "Thank you for keeping our secrets" and he leads them into a back room off the office and moves a bunch of unused dusty furniture out of the way. He opens a door and you see wide steps leading down into an unlit space.
Guido grabs a torch of the wall just inside the door and lights it and hands it to the Chosen. "Domi be with you my friends" he says Once they are all inside and heading down the stairs Guido once again closes the door and moves everything back into place.

Gecktar
Wednesday January 23rd, 2008 3:18:38 AM

"You're right Goodbarrel. We should be careful as they might be suspicious about some taurs that are comig to their camp."

"Now, let's go"

Gecktar takes his hammer in his hand his shield floating gently by his side. He put his left hand on the hammer that suddenly glow with a bright light.

"This should help in the dark tunnel..."

(OOC cast light spell)

Winterglade
Wednesday January 23rd, 2008 3:28:01 AM

Assuming there is room for just a single file Winterglade will walk second or third.

The centaur's hooves clip-clop on the flagstones of the tunnels sending echoes into the darkness. "You know, if Winterglade was an evil necromancer trying to work his grim craft in this town, this is precisely where he would lair."

Flat-top
Wednesday January 23rd, 2008 8:26:53 AM

Follows Brahmah, touching his light tattoo. "I'll light the way in frount and some one else can have this lantern. This way all can see where they are steping on!!"

Flat-top will take his +2 Morning Star off his clip as they move along the path in the tunnel.

Brahmah
Wednesday January 23rd, 2008 1:29:27 PM

"I actually would like to make a copy of this map. Tattoo to to my thigh or something. No one but the Chosen will know about it." He smiles.

"Well Glade, I would actually think that these 'secret tunnels' would be perfect for a lair." He grins, then frowns. "This will suck if I'm right."

Zeoll  d20+11=20
Wednesday January 23rd, 2008 7:25:55 PM

Zeoll sticks to the middle of the group, with his invisibility ring turned on. He reactivates it every three minutes, since the effect is not continuous.

He keeps alert and watchful: Spot 20

Tunnels
Thursday January 24th, 2008 12:05:54 AM

Tunnels
As the Chosen enter the tunnel the light from the torch and other magic means extends into the darkness.
As the light touches the walls you find that the tunnels are about 20 feet wide and much
like a common sewer. There is a 5 foot walk way on each side, and in the middle is a large 10 foot wide
trench that is full of all kinds of unpleasant things. The walls are brick but are covered in years of mold and sludge and are a
blackish Grey, the floor is similar in make and footing might be a issue if this get harry.
The smell is rather ungodly (fort save DC 15 or loss your stomach contents) every couple hundred feet you see a storm drain where a small amount of light
can be seen from the outside world.
Slowly the party creeps along the tunnel (party order please , looks like Flat-top WinterGlade Zeoll Gecktar Brahmah
at current but please let me know)
When in the tunnel Brahmah wonders if they can copy the tunnel map onto his skin in tattoo format
While Zeoll goes invisable.
Brahmah comments "Well Glade, I would actually think that these 'secret tunnels'
would be perfect for a lair." He grins, then frowns. "This will suck if I'm right
As the Chosen continue down the tunnel about 500 feet the smell gets worse as you come to a intersection
a round room with a 5 foot walk way and in the center is a pool on sludge three exits can be seen from the room north south
east and you look like you are coming from the west. Looking at the map that you have you can't see where you are on it, looks like the map is incorrect but Guiedo did say that not one had been down here in years to his knowledge and he was using what look like old citys plans when he gave you the map.

Gecktar  d20+13=32
Thursday January 24th, 2008 5:01:29 AM

(OOC fort save 32)

Gecktar barely notices the fool smell of the sewers and seems at ease with it, or at least not bothered by it.

"Captain, I think you have the best orientation sense of us all so, the map seems false..."

"The second option is that this is just a trap and we run into it ! But Guido wasn't evil... Maybe was he subdued."

"Take care Chosen, I've a bad feeling about all this and I don't want this place to become my next resting place, if you understand what I mean..."

Gecktar looks around and strengthen his grip on his hammer.

Winterglade  d20+11=25
Thursday January 24th, 2008 5:03:17 AM

[Fort save 25] "Hmm. Let's take a look at the map. Even if everything in between has changed it might at least show us exactly what is that exit behind the walls. After that maybe we can try walking in one direction and see where it leads us. Maybe in the direction where this stuff is flowing; it has to empty into the sea."

"Damn it, why did we let ourselves be talked into getting stuck in here? All we had to do was quietly lower ourselves over the side of the ship. Now this stench is never going to leave Winterglade's mane."

Zeoll  d20+4=16 d20+11=31 d20+13=31 d20+13=19
Thursday January 24th, 2008 7:17:41 AM

"Map, schmap. I don't trrust anything that is wrritten down anyway. Let's do some scouting."

Zeoll casts Extended Summon Nature's Ally II, calling a small air elemental. In its own language, Zeoll tells it to please fly north for 350 feet, then back, then south 350 feet, then back, and report. Come back early if you meet creatures or if the way is blocked. That should fit the extended duration.

Meanwhile, invisible Zeoll says, "Sshhh!" and goes to the east corridor. He moves 20 feet into it and tries to listen for noises that will give him some information. Listen 16. He peers into the dark with his low light vision. Spot 31 natural 20! He tries to tell by the movement of air if there is anything up ahead. Survival 31. He looks for tracks at all three passageways showing recent traffic -- number and kind of traffic, if possible. Track 19.

Then he is ready to hear the elemental's report.

Brahmah  d20+19=39 d20+13=21
Thursday January 24th, 2008 12:09:51 PM

Brahmah sends Heyoo ahead with the elemental.

"Mazes use to be fun, then suddenly, I seemed to lose my knack." he looks at the map, looks back over his shoulder. "I think we should have turned back at that last left."

(Survival roll, nat 20, for 39 for nothing specific. Spot 21.)

He holds for everyone to pass, then casts Alarm at an intersection they will not return to. "I set it for an audible alarm. Everyone will hear if someone passes that we don't want." [He tries to set it so that a passing rat or bat doesn't trip it.]

DM Kristel
Thursday January 24th, 2008 2:52:24 PM

OOC - post coming later tonite but we forgot we are going away tomorrow so gonna try and get a post in before we go but no promises sorry everyone

Flat-top  d20+9=12
Friday January 25th, 2008 8:32:05 AM

Flat-top follows Brahmah, "Hold on I have to do something important!" At this point Flat-top up chuck from both ends, the frount end almost hits Captain Brahmah and his back end almost hits Winterglade in the chest, "OH! I Fell much better now!"

Then Flat-top goes on with wobbly legs.

With a roll of 12, I think Flat-top got really sick.

Winterglade
Friday January 25th, 2008 9:05:10 AM

"And there Winterglade was complaining we have no ranged weapons."

Oh where oh where shall we go
Friday January 25th, 2008 12:22:09 PM

Gecktar suggest that they this may be a trap but Guido is not evil but may have been somehow convinced and he wards everyone to be cautious.
Winterglade suggests that they take a second look at the map at least it may give them some hint as to which direction they should be going.
Zeoll suggests that they do a little scouting and he calls in an air elemental. He tells it to head first down the North passage then down the South then report back to them. Zeoll then heads down the East passage to see if he can hear or see anything from there.
Brahmah sends Heyoo with the elemental and he comments on not being to happy with mazes. Brahmah then cast alarm on the intersection they have just passed doing his best to make sure that it will not be set of by some small creature.
Flat-top ends up losing his last meal and almost sprays Brahmah and Winterglade in the process. He then comments on how he now feels better.
Winterglade says "And there Winterglade was complaining we have no ranged weapons."
Zeoll's elemental first heads down the North passage with [b]Heyoo following. Zeoll heading down the East passage does not see or hear anything nor does the airflow seem interrupted.
So far nothing has set off Brahmah's alarm and Glade taking a second look at the map sees that it would seem that they would need to head down the South tunnel.
The air elemental heads down the South passage with Heyoo behind to see if there is anything is there. There was nothing of notice in the North passage.

passage
Tuesday January 29th, 2008 8:36:34 PM

As the chosen start there slow search for things unknown thus far they find little but much of the same in
the tunnels thus far. When the start down the southern passage the smell seams to lift a little
the smell of salt air and a little breeze can be felt soon then come to a grate that blocks the path
of the remains of one.
There are large holes bent into the bars allowing the passage of a large creature or creatures and some gore can be seen on the bent and shattered bars.
The chosen can see the ocean rippling just below the pipe that they are in and guessing from the water level this pipe might be underwater come high tide or at least partly.

OOC map is coming tomorrow or today

Winterglade
Wednesday January 30th, 2008 1:52:57 AM

"So far, so good. Let's take a look and see if one can make it to the land from here with a dry hoof."

Gecktar
Wednesday January 30th, 2008 3:23:20 AM

"Yes, good idea, but I swim like a stone... So if someone can go first so I can be... Well, let's wait..."

Gecktar concentrates and invokes the powers of his Patron. He begins to gently floats just above the ground.

"Well now, it should be fine. We must hurry because we don't know when is the high tide and we will be prisonners of the floods."

"I've no chance to fall except from exceptionnal circumstances. I will go first"

"I have a rope if necessary... I will lend it to you if needed"

Gecktar walking on the air proceed, still having his hammer in his hand.

Brahmah
Wednesday January 30th, 2008 12:11:03 PM

Still at the rear, Brahmah calls forward. "I would suggest moving from this tube. I've lost track of tides recently. It might be on its way."

The liontaur is ready to leave the sewer at last, but he fears that this is an ambush. Maybe undead are hiding nearby.

Nerves alert, Zeoll tries to see and hear anything dangerous.

Gecktar also looks at the gore

Gore and the Sea
Thursday January 31st, 2008 8:35:09 PM

As the chosen explore the tunnels

Gecktar. walk on air and out of the tunnels - He finds himself under the dock area He can see that
there are boats/ ships near by foating in the ocean

As you study the gore on the bars you see that its roten and the blood in black and dryed
you can guess that its taur from the bits of hair.

Several shuffle and scuff marks are found on the floor near the grate but the train ends in the sewer water in the
middle of the passage. The marks on the floor look fairly new maybe a few days old

Brahmah suggests moving from this tunnel in case the tides might be on its way

OOC sorry guys buy our house is suffering from another round of the flu and colds again so we are
trying but with sick parents and children its not very fun here
will try to keep on tops of things but for now there is no map

Jon and Kristel

Winterglade
Friday February 1st, 2008 8:03:00 AM

"Seems that this passage sees quite a bit of use. These marks on the bars must have been left after the last high tide."

Winterglade sticks his head out of the pipe, takes a look around [Take10 on Spot (15) and Listen (15)] and, assuming he does not notice anything dangerous or suspicious, he goes out relying on his horseshoes to keep him above the surface of the water. Then he assists everyone else in going out.

Brahmah
Friday February 1st, 2008 10:55:05 AM

"Your right Glade. For a 'secret' tunnel, it has seen far too much use."

Gecktar
Friday February 1st, 2008 11:22:59 AM

Gecktar makes signs for the other Chosen to come and that there isn't any threat for the moment.
He attach his rope at the bottom of the nearest dock and hang it to those who will need it.

DM
Friday February 1st, 2008 2:55:12 PM

OOC has anyone heard from Ceil aka Flat-top's mother

Docking
Friday February 1st, 2008 8:21:20 PM

Winterglade makes some comments about the tunnels usage and so does Brahmah
Winterglade then does his impression on waterwalking and waits out the tunnel to help the others
Gecktar floats across the water on air as well and tries to attach a rope to the dock underside (how ??)

Winterglade
Saturday February 2nd, 2008 4:26:14 AM

"Come on, shake a hoof people. Let us be gone from this funky place before Winterglade gets reminded of what he's eaten eight hours ago."

Zeoll
Saturday February 2nd, 2008 8:31:27 AM

Zeoll is more than ready to go. He reactivates his invisibility ring and goes with the group out of here.

Brahmah
Saturday February 2nd, 2008 11:18:22 AM

The minotaur is happy to follow the group OUT of the tunnel.

"Maybe we should bend the bars back or even transform them into something better, like a grid or screen?"

Brahmah
Monday February 4th, 2008 12:18:27 PM

"Come on Heyoo! And Flat-top! Get a move on, you stubborn nag!"

Gecktar
Monday February 4th, 2008 3:23:19 PM

Gecktar tie the rope anywhere he can. Be it on a pillar or a mooring of a boat. He uses the rope only if necessary. If his comrades don't need it he will just get it back in his haversack.

Zeoll
Monday February 4th, 2008 4:50:42 PM

Zeoll looks up at the sky overhead. The tunnels had oppressed him more than he had known. He's just glad to get out under the sky.

Now, where is that Jacktar?

If he sees any deer or hawks or magpies, he will cast Speak with Animals and ask if there are any centaurs aroundabouts.

Tides a comming maybe
Monday February 4th, 2008 7:41:34 PM

As the Chosen try to find a way to leave Zeoll wonders out and checks the surrounding. He finds the night sky inviting and the fresh air great. He sees that the chosen are coming out under the dock area and far from the edge of town more like back near where there ship is docked Brahmah is tiring go get Heyoo out of the tunnel but the Bear does not want to budge.

OOC DM Question here how are you getting the bear out of the tunnel? ( you are under the dock area You can see the underside of the dock and may attack the rope to a piller. You are above a foot or two from the low water mark. working on a map as I think that I have you guys confused sorry about the delay as I was sick
P.S friendly hint here this does not look like a good exit point.

Winterglade
Tuesday February 5th, 2008 2:07:22 AM

"We need to emerge north of the town. Not sure what would be quicker now, trying to get that calf Brahmah keeps lugging around over water or looking for another exit."

"Maybe let us go back and try to go north this time at the junction, yes?"

Brahmah
Tuesday February 5th, 2008 12:15:03 PM

"I thought that other direction was best anyway. Come on Heyoo."

Zeoll
Tuesday February 5th, 2008 12:30:53 PM

[OOC: Let me get this straight. The south tunnel ends in a grate. The grate is bent and broken so a Taur could get out. Outside the grate there is a drop of some small height to water. The docks are nearby. So clearly this is NOT the way to Jaktar's hide-out. NOW I get it!]

Zeoll agrees with Winterglade. "Come on, friends," he says. He goes with the group back to the inersection and goes north, as Winterglade suggests.

Gecktar
Tuesday February 5th, 2008 4:49:28 PM

Gecktar get back his rope and gently come back to the tunnel, trying to find a way to the place the harbor master described.

He turns back to the opening... "Maybe we should seal this hole here. Could someone have discovered the tunnels and let a dark creature penetrate into the labyrinth to ensure that noone will find his way out..."

"Glade have you some thing that would help ?"

Winterglade
Wednesday February 6th, 2008 5:20:50 AM

"No, Winterglade doesn't. He would be hesitant to completely bar the way anyway. With the town guard corrupted the secret passages might find use among those who need to escape oppression."

Zeoll
Wednesday February 6th, 2008 7:16:54 AM

"Look!" says Zeoll, just before leaving the broken grate. "The barrs arre bent inward. It looks like something has been getting in, not out."

"Hmmm. Maybe undead?"

Then he joins the group in going back to the main intersection, then north.

Brahmah
Wednesday February 6th, 2008 12:23:22 PM

The minotaur begins heading away from the grate, taking the bear with him.

Deja Vu
Wednesday February 6th, 2008 2:50:39 PM

Through some more thought and investigation and that it would be difficult to get the bear out, the Chosen decide that this may not be the best exit to take. They decide that it is better to try and come out of the tunnels somewhere near where Jacktar's camp is North of the city.

They turn around and head back down the stinky tunnels (Reflex DC15 against losing lunch again). So far none Brahmah's alarm has not been set off.

You arrive back in the room with the doors leading North South East and West. Upon approaching you smell something more disgusting that the rancid waters (reflex dc17 against losing lunch). When you reach the room you see four very odd looking and disgusting looking creatures approximately 8 ft tall. (Spot 20 Highlight to display spoiler: {They seem to be put together of spare human body parts perhaps taken from corpses and then put together to form these odd things. The creatures also look wet} These creatures have not yet noticed you.

[Spot 11] The centaur stops in mid step. "Whoa" - he whispers - "trouble up ahead. Can anyone see what's that?"

[Dear DMs, exactly what do we see? If we notice that they are odd looking and disgusting then probably we see at least some of the major details. Are they humanoid? Monsters? Spiders? Do they wear any armor or wield weapons?]

"I'm going to be a front liner because I think my hammer is able to pierce their resistances. We must focus on one and try to withstand the attacks of the other."

"Brahmah I will coordonate my attacks with you."
