Vauhwyt starts jumping up and down! She is so excited to see Priscilla's House! But she forgot that she had both a Jump spell and an Exp Retreat spell up -- so her first jump is a little bit high.
"Priscilla! Hello! It's Vauwhyt and Vorelle from Dirt City! And friends!"
Bart Thursday March 27th, 2008 4:17:29 PM
Well the stories are true then the house can walk. Hello can we come in? yells Bart not too loud
Vauhwyt Friday March 28th, 2008 7:42:29 AM
Hopping up, the liontaur knocks.
"Anybody home? Hello!"
Val Friday March 28th, 2008 1:29:38 PM
Val walks over to Malgant and places one of her small hands on his massive arm. "How are you doing Mal?" She asks and then touches the wound he still has. "Don't forget about yourself. I know its minor but it could get infected in this enviorment. That would require more potent magic to heal."
Appolo Friday March 28th, 2008 8:21:33 PM

As the group members hail the horsehouse contraption, it is eerily quiet and no immediate response is forthcoming. However as soon Bart makes a move and begins to peer through the window a bunch of the black feathers on the horse's head begin to move and take shape.
Soon standing on the horse's head is a large unkempt looking bird, quite abit larger than and eagle, covered with black feathers from tail to the base of its rather long, mottled pink and bald neck and head. It has beady black eyes and what looks like a very sharp beak.
"Hmmph, I would not continue to spy on my mistress. She will address you when she is ready. Did you really just try and burn down her forest? Oooo are you in trouble now."
"So tell me! Who are you and what want you with my mistress?"
Lorth Monday March 31st, 2008 2:53:22 PM
Lorth eyes the bird warily... although he doesn't speak to it, as he doesn't really know why they want to talk to it's mistress.
Bart Monday March 31st, 2008 3:16:26 PM
I'm sorry im not spying only looking of someone is home. We want to speak with the Mistress of the House. She is our lead in a riddle, maybe she even has requested us here
Aztyr Monday March 31st, 2008 3:58:00 PM
As the Vulture appears, Aztyr flys up even to it. "We did not try to Burn down the forest, we were defending ourselves from those spider like creatures that attacked us."
Vorelle and Champ Monday March 31st, 2008 4:07:24 PM
Vorelle looks up at the black bird. "W-W-W-Warwick?" she asks cautiously.
Champ, meanwhile, is barking his head off. Vorelle hushes him.
74/82 hp Malgant d20-2=18 Monday March 31st, 2008 5:29:22 PM
Having dealt with only one witch before, Malgant is not at all surprised to be speaking to a bird that claims Priscilla to be its Mistress. He knows that a witch's familiar animal has a strong link to the witch herself and he treats the bird as such. "Do not look angrily on them. I set fire to the woods with the holy fire of Domi as I struck down the spider creatures that wished to make a meal of my friends. If there is recompense to be made for that action, then the blame is mine. The witch Priscilla was mentioned in a riddle concerning some strange goings on here at Blackbird Lake. I think that we are the ones called to this place to set what is wrong right and we have come to seek her council. I will repeat you the riddle, as I am sure your mistress can hear my words through your ears as well as she likely can see me through your eyes. It went like this..."
When the water's on fire and death's at the door, look for the heroes called by bones and sword.
From Valley, and Dirt and Heart they roam. By the number of three shall they truly be known.
Three women, six men and three of them Taurs, the wold shall tremble at Gargul's three's roar.
The call for good is never quite gone and always is present when evil is strong.
A call to the wood, will aid in their cause and rest will be welcome for feet and for paws.
Quenched by the fire and etched by water Black is the problem and becomes the squatter.
Through darknesss and fire and water they pass. For storms shall sink those with much lighter mass.
The fiery skull will keep its faith and the sword once lost shall be put to the lathe.
Will heroes prevail it's still to be seen. Failure is likely for those of weak mien.
"We match the discription very accurately, and we have traveled through water that burns as we crossed the lake. we met death right outside the door to your dwelling. The references to fire and water bear an eerie resemblence to the fight as well. We are quite tired on our feet and paws and would very heartily welcome a rest. Will your mistress see us?" Malgant addresses the bird directly as if he spoke to Priscilla herself. He stands tall and openly accepts all blame for the fire. His tone shows remorse for the damage done but none for the fact that he did it to help save his friends. He waits for the witch or her bird to respond. "Warwick! Warwick! It's us! The heros that Priscilla sent for! We're here to see you!"
"Oh. Sorry about the firre!" Her accent reveals her mortification.
DM Kent Tuesday April 1st, 2008 1:44:40 PM
As Vorelle and then Vauhwyt call out Warrick's name the bird looks quite affronted.
"What? Who dares call out the name of the Wold's most briliant mage of all times?"
Then as Malgant speaks and recites the prophecy, Warrick goes silent for a moment, looks over you all and then cocking his head, as if listening to something, he again speaks.
"Pretty awful that. And your verse speaks of nine not eight. And I am not at all aware where you got the idea to come see my mistress from that bit of drivel."
"And as for the fire there was more than one source, even I can see that and for not meaning to do something you did a fairly good job of it."
Suddenly Warick seems to start squirming as if trying to scratch an itch that he can't quite reach.
"V-V-V-Vorelle, my sweet, do you suppose you could come up here and scrach the back of my neck, it is itching something fierce right now."
At that moment the door in the bottom of the horse opens up and a woman decends down a drop stairwell. She is in hher late thirties perhaps, and she seems to be wearing a robe made up of a multitude of scraps of fabric and feathers, all tied together at her waist by a string. The cloak over her sholders is similarly constructed and hangs nearly to the ground. She has very long red hair streaked with grey and it is currently hanging in three loose braise that are tied of with brightly colored ribbons. She raises he right hand and you notice she is missing two fingers.
As she descends she first looks at Vorelle right in the eye. "That won't be necessary my dear." "Enough Warrick, though not at my behest, they are here because of me, so I will not have you vexing them overly much."
Reaching the ground she steps off away from the last step and the stairway retreats and then the door closes up the house leaving her standing in front of you all, looking each of you over like you were some sort of unique objet d'atres.

" Do you know who sent this riddle/ prophecy to us? We had dreams before hearing the words of a pair of firey eyes looking out of the dark and asking if we 'were the ones'. When the words were spoken we fit them pretty close, we have had some members come and go since then. WHat troubles the area and what can we do to help put an end to it.? When Priscilla arrives on the scene, Vorelle asks her, "W-wh-what were those s-s-spider th-things?"

Having taken a good long look at each of you, Priscilla seems to come to some sort of conclusion.
Stop the forest from tripping you up? As likely to stop the sun from rising you are. As for the Aranea, they are shapeshifting spiders, and in all likelihood you were simply the most readily accessable food source for their young.
Well now, the dreams I knew about as I aided in their facilitation. As for the prophecy, at this time I will just say that I have heard it before.
Hmmmph! No more questions. At least for now. You seem to be who you are supposed to be, so why don't we go inside and get a bit more comfortable and have a conversation and a bit to eat.

(Hey Guys and Gals. Sorry about the sudden disappearence. My aunt died suddenly Thursday and I have been (figuratively) picking up familial pieces all weekend and trying to hold things together.)
*********
As Priscilla steps back under the horse's abdomen, the door again opens and the steps come unfolding down. She leads the way as you each head up the steps. As you step upon the first step you feel your whole body tingles for a moment and then suddenly it passes as you step onto the second.
Once inside, even those of you who have been here before aren't all sure what it is you are seeing. Hanging along the walls, as partitions and along the floor and ceiling are a number of hand woven and knotted rugs, hangings and tapestries.
There are a number of old pots and cauldrons also hanging from the walls and cielings. And interspersed along the walls are clumps and bunches of dried or drying herbs. Sown onto and hanging from most of the rugs and any open wall space are nearly a hundred various wind chimes and pipes, each with its own slightly different tone and ring. It is nigh impossible to move through the partitioned rooms without disturbing them, and even Apollo with all his skills is fairly sure he couldn't make it from one end to the other without sounding several of them.
By the time you have all entered and found a seat on any number of cushions, stools or the two benches strewn about the room, The air is full of ringing which momentarily silences once everyone gets settled.
Once everyone is seated , she again looks you each over and then turns to Aztyr.
"No I am not what you call a shaman. I am just a simple witch. But please call me Priscilla and help yourselves to something to eat and drink. I am afraid I only have wine and ale to drink, but they both go very well with fruit, cheese and bread." All of which appears nearly as soon as the words are out of her mouth.
Just as she finishes speaking there is a squawk and a rushing of wings and a cacophany of chimes ringing and soon Warrick the large black and bald vulture is perched on the back of Priscilla's chair.
"So, you are the ones that were called eh? Who would have thought it would have been such a rag-tag crew?" So what exactly brings you to Priscilla?"

74/82 hp Malgant Tuesday April 8th, 2008 5:12:00 PM
Malgant stops at the top of the stairs, a look of mingled horro and resignation covers his face. Why? Why do humans insist on not only living in small homes with barely enough headroom for themselves to stand erect in but then collect all manner of items to hang from the rafters to make the place seem even SMALLER?Malgant sighs, and in oder to make room for those behind him takes a deep breath and begins to CAREFULLY navigate the room. He takes his time and is careful. He brushes thing, he bumps things and he tinkles most of the chimes, but nothing comes crashing down. Once he finds a clear spot,he removes his sword belt from his back and gently lowers himself to the floor. Once seated he lays the blade across his lap. He notes Vorelle's interest in the herbs. He also notices that interest cool when the bird flies in and begins taunting them again. He knows that the bird is likely smarter than he is, due to it's arcane bonding to Priscilla. What he cannot imagine is how she can be so tolerant and gracious to her visitors while the bird seems more interested in ruffling their feathers than in surviving their ire should he hit a nerve. Malgant returns his attention to their host. He waits for her to begin her explanation of their summons and the riddle. He gets the feeling that what they experienced on their way here was not even a small test of their skills compared to the task that Priscilla has in store for them.
Val Tuesday April 8th, 2008 6:53:03 PM
Val sat down and began stuffing herself with fruit and cheese. She was quite hungry and while the food was conjured with magic it felt real to her stomach.
"The dreams and the prophecy. Some said if anybody knew what it was about it would be you."
Dm Kent Tuesday April 8th, 2008 11:07:19 PM
Vorelle recognizes a number of the drying items, from small branches of Ash, Yew, Hazel, Mallorn to bunches of herbs like Belladona, Bloodroot, Chamomile, Calamint, and Comphrey, to Juniper smudges, Linden leaves and Monkshade. And if she isn't mistaken she spots some Wolfbane, Nightshade and Pellitory in the far corner. There are also an equal number of things that she can't see clearly enough to identify or has no knowledge of herself. All in all it is by far the most complete and varied collection she has ever seen or heard of.
Warrick, That's enough! You have got to stop being so bad tempered during your moult. I am sorry you had a female caller show up unannounced when you were tailless but that's life. It's not their fault. Now be polite or go role in something dead.
Warrick looks contrite and hangs his head as she starts and by the time she has finished he is obviously blushing and very uncomfortable, but he remains by her side stoicly.
Ok then, let's see. Yes, I sent the visions to you, but only because I myself received a vision ver a year ago to do so at this appointed time. As to how you were chosen, again I do not know though I was instructed that the vision would seek out those that it was meant for.
As for the prophecy, or riddle as you call it. I have no foreknowledge about it. I can however perhaps aid in enlightening some parts of it or perhaps I could cast a foretelling or augury for you.
Lorth Wednesday April 9th, 2008 7:36:42 AM
Lorth stands silent, content to wait for explanations.
Bart Wednesday April 9th, 2008 2:37:41 PM
Well Priscilla im no hero in riddles, prophecys amd magic, my strength lies in the sword. I think Malgant can ask u the right questions a
Aztyr Wednesday April 9th, 2008 4:12:50 PM
Aztyr accepts a mug of ale and some of the snacks. She asks no more questions right now, but does pay careful attention, because no mater what Priscilla says, Aztyr believes she is more than a witch. Perhaps after a few questions have been asked and answered, a serious question will come to her to ask of thier host.
Vorelle Wednesday April 9th, 2008 4:56:25 PM
The herbs are interesting, and Vorelle wishes she had longer to study them. There are more pressing matters at hand, though.
Besides, if Champ gets into any of the herbs, Vorelle will be cleaning up dog barf for a month. She moves to sit near her dog and keep an eye on him.
"A f-f-foret-telling would be g-g-g-good," she tells Priscilla. "W-w-we're n-not really s-sure what to d-d-do next."
74/82 hp Malgant Wednesday April 9th, 2008 5:09:54 PM
Malgant is glad for Bart's confidence in him, however other than his own wild interpretation that is based way more on how the prophecy FEELS rather than what it SAYS Mlagant is left without a clue. The description of the group was good, the burning lake and fire and water lines seem to describe the area pretty well. The Death being at the door part is a little shaky. Sure the Arenae could have been bad but in retrospect they were hardly what Malgant would consider death waiting at the door to Priscilla's home. After that though the Prophecy seems to stop making sense to Malgant. Realizing that Bart has now focused their attention on Malgant he struggles to come up with what the group needs to know. Taking a deep breath he plunges ahead. " Well, we would need to know what we have been gathered FOR. Once we know that we can try and formulate some plan to get that done. Do you have any idea why we have been gathered other than you were told to send the dreams at a specific time to draw us to the Inn where the ships maiden could give us this prophecy? Is the reference to the sword literal or is it an analogy to the group of us? All I really get from the wording is what Val mentioned right after the Figurehead spoke. Something big and bad is stirring and it sounds like it is looking for a fight. Someone, somewhere thought that we could give it a run for it's money. Having watched us fight today, caught by surprise, in a strange place, entangled, bound and under fire from several different sources I would say that we work pretty well together. If someone or something Good is looking for help, I think we can lend a hand. I know I will. Can you get us something to go on Priscilla? Can you find us a direction to go in and a goal to achieve in all this?" When he finishes talking Malgant realizes he has had nothing to eat since breakfast and that his stomach is rumbling. Gathering up some os the light fare offered up by their host he begins to eat, watching and listening to Priscilla's response. If she can give them a course to follow, or tell them what needs to be done them they will have to decide how to get it done.
Vauhwyt and Mookie Wednesday April 9th, 2008 9:33:15 PM
Vauhwyt looks around, happy to be here, and glad to let others do the talking.
But the most important issues have yet to be addressed.
"Priscilla, yes, we would be glad for your divinations, of course. But there is something even more important to me. I would like to know your hunch, your gut feeling, your intuition. We seem to be in the hands of an unknown entity, pursuing an unknown agenda, in a direction that is a mystery. I would love to hear your opinion -- is this a benevolent force? What is its motive? Should we fear it? resist it? embrace it? How would you counsel us?"
Mookie caws, "Yeah, and does it pay well?"
"Hush, Mookie!" says Vauhwyt sternly.
Val Wednesday April 9th, 2008 9:55:23 PM
Val moves over and sits next to Vorelle. She smiles at Champ, scratching the dog behind the ear. Val loves animals and is glad to have a dog around. She's been thinking of getting one herself. Val takes Vorelle's hand gently in both of hers.
"Vorelle its okay to relax. Your among friends. If things get tense I'd be happy to listen to anything you might want to get off your chest." She says quietly as to not disturb Priscilla and the others.
DM Kent Wednesday April 9th, 2008 11:02:34 PM
Priscilla listens carefully to those that speak and then says her quick piece.
"All right then if I hear you correctly you are interested in some help in understanding the prophecy, Would not be adverse in my performing a fortelling or augury, and you want my opinon on who or what I think is moving you to do this and what their motivations might be. Is this correct?
Well let's take the easiest stuff first, and break down your prophecy into bits if we can. Now mind you these are only educated guesses, don't necessarily bet your life on my interpretations.
When the water's on fire and death's at the door, look for the heroes called by bones and sword.
From Valley, and Dirt and Heart they roam. By the number of three shall they truly be known.
Three women, six men and three of them Taurs, the wold shall tremble at Gargul's three's roar.
Hmmm, This seems pretty obvious as a call for you all when the water is on fire and things are dying.
call for good is never quite gone and always is present when evil is strong.
A call to the wood, will aid in their cause and rest will be welcome for feet and for paws.
I guess this is what you were referring to when you mentioned that you were told to come to visit me.
Quenched by the fire and etched by water Black is the problem and becomes the squatter.
Through darknesss and fire and water they pass. For storms shall sink those with much lighter mass.
Now this part is a bit trickier and not as clear. Something black is squatting over the water?
The fiery skull will keep its faith and the sword once lost shall be put to the lathe.
Will heroes prevail it's still to be seen. Failure is likely for those of weak mien.
And this piece seesm to say that should you remain strong and prevail you will be rewarded in some way.
So I guess the part that is most worrisome is what is black and squatting?
Now the second thing about who or what and why?
I will honestly say that I do not know. However, I have never sensed any evil in whatever sent me the vision to send you yours. And even with the fiery skull seemingly in charge of things, I get no sense of evil from it or its message. I would probably say that it is a watcher or guardian that was placed long ago by someone and for whatever reason it has been disturbed and needs outside help to fight the evil that is disturbing it.
Now as for the fortelling or augury I will need a little time to prepare and then I will need some input from you as to what sorts of things you want me to focus on or whether you just want me to let the visions flow freely without coaxing.
Aztyr / Blackbird Lake / John / #872 Thursday April 10th, 2008 1:26:25 AM
As Aztyr listened to Priscilla discribe the prophecy, at least her impression of it, a thought poped into her head. When She finished talking, Aztyr spoke up. "I just realized something. That line in the middle is backwards from the way things work. I never noticed it until just now.... Quenched by the fire and etched by water Black is the problem and becomes the squatter. Things are not Quenched by Fire. Quenching something usually means to put it out, Like you quenched the torch, by sticking it into the bucket of water. See? I think it means whatever is Squatting, is Black, hiding in the fire and that water is marking it, or is leaving a mark on it somehow." Aztyr continues to eat the snacks after she speaks...

When Val first touches her hand, Vorelle jumps. Embarrassed, she leans down to pat Champ as if he were the one acting anxious.
"I-I'm okay," she says to Val in an undertone.
Vauhwyt Friday April 11th, 2008 1:53:36 PM
The liontaur nods as Priscilla offers her insights. "That makes sense," she says, "And I am very reassured that you sense no evil in these matters, thank you."
"As for a divination, I think we should focus on the lake. And if it would help, we could each offer a lock of hair for the divination."
She offers a small lock of her own hair. And a small black feather from Mookie.
"OW!" caws Mookie. "I was using that!"
Ignoring him, Vauhwyt offers that to Priscilla too.

" As I see it, the problem we face right now is that we are out of places to go. We have not deciphered any more of the riddle than the part that brought us to you. We lack the knowledge os what to do next, where to go from here. If you need something, anything from us, like the hair that Vauhwyt is offering you then we will comply as best we can. Will the divination that you are going to do require preparation? If it will, might we impose on you for a few hours rest? I don't know about the others, but I am quite tired."
Val Friday April 11th, 2008 4:54:43 PM
"I was just going to ask the same thing. If it wouldn't be to much trouble, I'd like to get out of this armor and get a few hours of reverie." Val said as she raised her arms above her head, stretching.
Dm kent Friday April 11th, 2008 7:05:16 PM
Well I could do a divination, but I was thinking more on the lines of a vision. I would like some time to prepare as there is a cost to me in order to cast this particular spell. And yes a hair or something that is particularly personal to you, to aid with focussing would be helpful and then a couple of specific questions from you might be of aid as well.
So yes feel free to use the rear of the room to unload and rest and I will call you in several hours when I am ready.
Bart Saturday April 12th, 2008 3:35:31 AM
If you think a hair can help to get a better undersanding of our "problem" you can have one. But I agree with Appollo say where we have to go and what we have to deal with and we will try, maybe not to kill as triggerhappy Appollo suggest, but we definitly solve it for now and for ever.
Vorelle Sunday April 13th, 2008 12:06:30 PM
Vorelle, too, will be glad of a chance to rest. She flexes her wounded shoulder, and realizes she'll rest better if she's healed. "C-c-can s-s-somebody c-cast a healing sp-spell?" she asks.
Val Sunday April 13th, 2008 9:42:41 PM
Val gets up and heads into the back room. Since she had her fill of cheese and wine its time to get the boots off that are hurting her feet. First she strips off the fine mithril links that cover her body. The armor was made for her old body so its a bit snug in a couple places. Next Val takes off her boots, sighing as her feet are finally free from the leather confines. Lastly Val removes the clothing she wears under her armor, leaving her temporarily naked, and pulls a fine silk robe from her pack. Val slips the robe on, tying it closed and clearly feeling better. She returns to Priscilla and pulls the gargul holy symbol from around her neck.
"This is the most personal item I have." She says and hands it to her. Then Val returns to the back room where she prepares to slip into reverie.

She repeats the words again. Two waves of healing flow through her shoulder. OOC: 15 points healing total from activating tattoo 2 times IC: "I hope that helps Vorelle, I'm not really a healer." Aztyr then continues to get comfortable. She peels off her armor and the harness carrying her gear. She then lays down and rests....

The liontaur is glad for a little shut eye.
When it is time to think of questions to ask of Priscilla, the ones that come to her head are ...
Where should we go next?
What do we need to do?
How can we help?
Black Thing of prophecy that squats over the water?
Mookie caws and adds, "What do we get for helping out?"

74/82 hp Malgant Monday April 14th, 2008 5:19:38 PM
Malgant watches as the others relax and settle in for some rest. His mind knows that it either is, or nearly is sunrise, depending on how long they have actually talked inside this windowless room. The building is so close and small that he finds himself still on edge even sitting down. He begins to emove his armor as he sits there, knowing how he will feel in the morning if he sleeps in it. It takes him quite awhile to get the smaller pieces off and when he finally gets to the breastplate he finds that while seated he is not able to twist around enough to remove it. Sighing he resigns himself to being sore when he wakes up. Before he curls up to sleep, he removes a silver armband from around his right bicep. Handing it to Priscilla he tells her. " this was given to me by a paladin of Domi, one whom I married a few days later to his sweetheart. He was a Protector as well. I think that this has as much of me in it as any lock of hair that I could give you. It embodies my faith, my friendships, and myself. As for a direct question. I would like to know about the black thing that is the problem, the squatter. As far as I can tell this is our opponent. Hopefully knowing of it will provide us a direction in which to go." Once he has done what Priscilla has asked of them he tries to make himself comfortable in the breastplate he cannot remove and get some rest before she performs the divination ritual. He is quite keen to observe that. OOC I will start putting my spell list on my character sheet to try and get rid of the long posts. Since I link the sheet to all of my posts that should save alot of space on the board.

Priscilla nods as each thing is handed to her and then watches silently as you all head to the rear of the house for a time of rest.
After several hours of rest and some actual sleep, there is a soft chiming and you awake rather more refreshed that you would have expected. Not only are you wounds all but healed, but you feel as though you have rested a full eight hours and are ravenously hungry again.
Somewhere in the house you can hear a soft chanting that is rising and falling with a rather laborious cadence and a rather halting voice. After a fem more moments the voice comes to a faltering halt and a scream.
Lorth Tuesday April 15th, 2008 9:44:59 AM

"Th-th-thank you," says Vorelle when Aztyr heals her. Her wounds still pain her, but she thinks she can sleep.
And sleep she does, curled contentedly on the floor at the back of Priscilla's strange house. When she awakes, the last of her wounds have healed.
She is putting on her boots when she hears the scream. Grabbing her weapons, she rushes into the front room.

Aztyr is up earlier than the rest, she is just sitting there watching the others sleep. She is still learning the quirks of these new friends. The man in alot of armor who spends his early mornings polishing his armor. The Taur who also wears heavy armor and is a holy man, to use that term losely. The other Wemic, with the mouthy crow. and then there are the others who she is still sorting out in her mind. She is listening to the chanting, not really understanding it, but picking out the changing rythims had captivated her. She was lost in the patterns when the scream interupted. Aztyr grabbed her battle harnes and struggled into it as she followed her friends, the smaller ones got to go first.

Val rises and stretches with a yawn. She was reliving some particularly good memories last night. She ran a hand over her short red gold hair, straightening it the best she could. Yawning again Val walks after the others. No doubt Priscilla got a shocking revelation.

Malgant is shocked awake by the scream. Forgetting where he is for a moment he springs up and starts to head for the screams. That was his intention at least, reality had a nasty surprise waiting for him. Malgant sprang up, and promptly slammed his head into a rafter in the cramped horse/house. A brilliant starburst exploded behind his eyes and he crumpled to the floor, his head in agony. Forcefully reminded where he was his next attempt at speed is to scutlle to a semi standing position and head for the scream. He fails to take any weapons with him. Praise Domi for the thick skull plates of Minotars. AS he enters the area where the scream originated, he strains through the throbbing headache to look about him and listen for trouble. As you all wake to the scream and rush to see what is happening or has happened, there is a large thump and curse, as Malgant cracks his head on a beam.
Once you make your way to what apparently is a work area of sorts containing a very large cauldron, surrounded by the items you gave her, you find that both Warrick and Priscilla are laid out on the floor, at first appearance they both look very dead. There is a little blood flowing from Priscilla's nose and there is no perceptible breathing going on. As you peer in on the scene, you hear a audible gasp and suddenly both Warrick and Priscilla are breathing again but both seem quite unconcious.
Vorelle d20+14=26 Wednesday April 16th, 2008 1:06:01 AM
Seeing the scene before her, Vorelle puts away her weapons and pulls out her healer's kit. She hesitates, uncertain of the abilities of some of her new companions. Both Maglant and Aztyr seemed to have healing abilities, but Maglant just hit his head pretty hard. And Aztyr had said, in so many words, that she was no healer.
Making up her mind, Vorelle moves to assist Maglant, hoping the big taur can shake off his injury.

Mookie looks at the healing attempts and cantrips and caws -- even in monkey form, his voice is harsh like a crow's -- "You guys are lame!" He takes a wand of Cure Light Wounds from Vauhwyt's pack and uses it on both witch and familiar.
UMD rolls to activate: Three tries to use two charges. Healing is 6 hp and 9 hp (using Wold house rule to reroll 1s on cure spells).
"Um, good job, Mookie," says Vauhwyt.

Having stayed back, and being the last to rush forward, Aztyr gets there in time to listen to Mookie, or at least she assumed it was mookie at least be his usual self. 2nd post Malgant Wednesday April 16th, 2008 4:16:33 PM
His claustrophobia momentarily forgotten and the pain in his head starting to dull down a little Malgant hears Val's comment. " Bad for Priscilla yes, but probably good for us. She either saw, heard or felt something in her vision that did this to her. While it is bad for her, it gives us hope that she now knows the direction we need to take and has some ideas of what we will face. The bad part for us is that is it can do THIS to her in a vision, what can it do to us in the flesh? Now, all we need to do is be able to wake her up so that she can tell us about it."
DM Kent Wednesday April 16th, 2008 8:48:03 PM
Even after Mookie's wand use, bpth Priscilla and Warrick are very slow to come to conciousness and even once aware of her surroundings, Priscilla has a very glazed look in her eyes. While she recovers, there is plenty of time to prepare something to eat for breakfast and Vorelle is pretty sure she saw some chamomille hanging that would make some great restorative tea for Priscilla.
Tea in hand and breakfast served Priscilla soon has some color back and after shooing Warrick outside for some fresh air, she comes to the table and takes a deep long look at each of you as she returns the non consumed items that you lent her.
Well, that was quite interesting and not something that I want to have happen ever again. It seems that you have someone out there who wants to keep you in the dark and may actually move against you as you try and fix what you are to fix. ::Shaking her head to forestall any questions:: Don't ask me who or what, for I don't know. All I got was a a sense of the most vile evil I have ever felt and then I was fighting for my mind and life.
Now to answer some of your questions about what I was seeking for you. There was a definite sense that your next step is in Acid. And then I saw a large expanse of bubbling water with three large rocky islands somewhere in it. So I expect you will be needing to find those Islands or at least one of them. My guess is that they are one of Blackbird lake's Islands, though why the water is bubbling I am not sure. As to your foes on the island they are large and apparently black. I am guessing here, as this is where I was "interupted," but perhaps there is a family of dragons that you need to deal with.
Lorth Thursday April 17th, 2008 8:51:31 AM

Aztyr seeing that the ones who are skilled in healing are taking care of Priscilla, goes back carefully ducking the low cieling beams and grabs her armored shirt. She slips into it, and replaces the harnes and other garmets over it as usual. Making her way back to the group she is in time to hear what the witch learned, as she finishes, Aztyr gets out one word, almost as a stunned question. "Dragons?"
Val Thursday April 17th, 2008 3:00:25 PM
Val yawns and takes her holy symbol back. She slips it around her neck, the symbol resting between her breasts.
"Well if they are dragons I suggest we stop at the catacombs and try to get something to protect ourselves."
Malgant Thursday April 17th, 2008 5:59:08 PM
"Dragons. All the tales I have ever heard involving them speak about solitary dragons and how much havoc a single one can cause. You say that likely we are going to meet a family of them. At least they are intelligent. Maybe they can be reasoned with, though I am pretty skeptical about that." Malgant speaks quietly, as though loud noises or extremes of emotion may cause him a great deal of pain. Listening to the others he hears Vorelle's comment. As he slips the silver armbad back around his arm he says, "Nor do I Vorelle, nor does Lorth I suspect. Heavy armor and boats are not a very good mix, and hooves tend to make for poor swimming. Still if they are on islands in the lake, a boat will probably be needed at some point. I will be outside. I need to make my devotions to Domi and prepare for the trip. Removing my armor was tough in here, I fear donning it will be nigh impossible." With that Malgant slowly turns and attempts to make his way out to where his armor lies. He gathers it up and proceeds outside to perform his sword ritual, and pray to Domi for guidance.
Appolo Thursday April 17th, 2008 8:06:32 PM
Appolo eats breakfast and listens to what Pricila has to say"Dragons.Well we definately have to stop at the catacombs..Islands in the lake well boiling water makes sence then. From what I'ne heard dragons breath fire so they could make the water biol.Interesting.Pricila could you give usa ride to the edge of the forrest back to the ferry dock?"Looking at Malgant"Hold on my friend.Don't go outside without the rest of us."
DM Kent Thursday April 17th, 2008 9:46:15 PM
Priscilla watches preparations and listens to the group thoughts and then chimes in as Apollo asks about hitching a ride.
"Well That might be a bit hard to do as we have been travelling in the opposite direction since I picked you up. We have come quite a long way in the direction toward Acid and If your friend tries to step out of my door he may find that to be a bit more uncomfortable than he can imagine. When we stop in a bit, you shouldn't be more than a day and a half or possibly two from Acid.
2nd post Malgant Thursday April 17th, 2008 11:40:21 PM
"Moving? Strange, I could not feel that we were. Very well, Then I will pray as the scholars do rather than as the battle priests. I had heard stories that different dragons had different breaths. Do you think that the Acid breath of the dragons could have 'infected' he lake to make it boil as Acid would Priscilla? Or, since you call the place 'Acid' has it always been this way and now attracts dragons of it's element?" Malgant crouches away from the others once he finishes talking with Priscilla and sits alone and begins his prayer. They come slowly to him at first, since they are not coupled with the slash and recovery of the sword that has always lent them a cadence in Malgant's mind. He asks Domi for similar spells to the day before, since it seems they will be traveling again. He repeats the prayers a second time, a calming effect flowing through him as the familiar words gain a cadence of their own, different from the slash and thrust of the sword dance. The feeling of being closed in fades a little and the throbing in his head seems to recede. When he finishes praying, Malgant slowly begins to put on his srmor in the cramped surroundings.
Vauhwyt and Mookie Friday April 18th, 2008 7:30:18 AM
[OOC: Sorry to miss a post!]
First, Vauhwyt wants to make sure that Priscilla and Warrick are kay. She is apologetic that the witch's efforts for the party ended with her injury.
Second, Vauhwyt agrees that the party needs to prepare. But is there even a branch of the Catacombs anywhere nearby? She is not sure that a stop at the magic shop is possible.
Finally, she thinks that the party needs much more information before charging into a fight. There are a number of ways she can think of to get more information.
But Blackbird Lake is big. And don't the islands on it float around? How will they find the particular islands they need to get to?
One thought: Dragons have big appetites. Maybe we can find out where they have been hunting. In fact, maybe we can attack when they are separated, either by attacking a lone hunter, or by raiding the islands when one is away on a hunt.
Lorth Friday April 18th, 2008 8:10:21 AM
"Dragons...", Lorth says with disgust. "I've fought offspring of Parnoth's before and it didn't go well for us. As for boats, I could do without them also." He looks his friends over clearly not happy about the development.

dm kent Sunday April 20th, 2008 2:40:59 PM
Priscilla seems to gain a bit more color and energy as she takes in a bit of breakfast and the chamomille tea.
As mention of The catacombs is made, she sgakes her head. Don't know as you're gonna be able to do that even though the nearest branch is in Acid. But when the problem happened with all the heartseeds and priests dying and all, things have been a bit up in the air over there. I heard tell it was closed, as there were some that was blaming those that ran and owned the shop as having had a hand in the misfortunes. I suppose though that it may have reopened since I was over that way last.
Hearing Val's question, Priscilla nods her head and then answers. Well this part of the forest is a bit less sleepy than where we were yesterday, but yes I will send each of you with a wind chime to tie to your packs which should be enough to do the trick, of course you will also likely be announcing yourselves to everything around that someone is moving through the woods.
Just about the time where all studying and praying has been completed, Priscilla stops and walks over to near the door of her house. "Ok all this is your stop. You should find that you are about a thirty minute walk north east of Abderas. From there it should take you right at 2 days to get to Acid." Good luck and fare thee well. As you each step down she fastens a wind chime to each of your packs.
Vauhwyt and Mookie Monday April 21st, 2008 7:01:38 AM
Vauhwyt thanks Priscilla, and goes over what the party has to do next. "Go to Acid. Find three islands together, or maybe one island with three parts above water. Deal with a family of dragons, maybe black dragons."
"Surre, no problem!"
She asks Appolo, Val and Bart how Aisildurians will react to seeing a taur. "The one time I met a priest of Ga'al, he called me an animal!"
"Should Aztyr and I be disguised or invisible or something?"
Lorth Monday April 21st, 2008 7:34:24 AM
Lorth gets his things together then disembarks the strange house. Taking a moment to himself Lorth concentrates and calls Tobiasz to his side. While he waits for his friends to assemble, he makes sure Tobiasz's gear is in order then mounts up. He stowes away his sword and takes up his lance.
Val Monday April 21st, 2008 9:08:05 AM
Val laughed softly. "Vauhwyt it doesn't matter if you, Aztyr, and Malgant all use magical disguises to appear human. Bart, Appolo, and myself are at the top of the Ga'al hit list. Ga'al priests are quite annoying, but with everything thats happened recently they should be too busy to worry about us."
Vorelle Monday April 21st, 2008 12:27:18 PM
Vorelle gathers her belongings, and makes sure she has everything before leaving the house.
"Th-th-thank you, P-P-Priscilla," she says.
She watches in astonishment as the mail-clad warrior summons a horse from nowhere! She has never seen such a feat before. She wonders if perhaps the man is a wizard.
Appolo Monday April 21st, 2008 1:55:33 PM
Once they arrive at thier destination,Appolo helps Malgant with his armour, then makes sure everyone gets out of the house and on the ground ok."Thanks fory our help Pricila. We'll be back." Replying to Vauhwyt"Son't worry about it.You see a G'aalian just let it be or kill it.Those are your only two choices.Like Val said Val,Bart and I are at the top of thier hit list."
Aztyr Monday April 21st, 2008 3:16:24 PM
Aztyr thanks Priscilla as she leaves the house and goes down those damnable stairs. She settles her 'battle harness' which is just a set of leather straps that are stitched together to fit her comfortably. "I can do Invisability, but it don't last very long, or at least it never seems to." She is also a bit shocked at the sight of a armored horse just showing up when called for by the man in armor, but tries not to show it.
Malgant Monday April 21st, 2008 4:38:47 PM
Malgant steps over and gently strokes Tobiasz's neck once Lorth has summoned him. It has been a long time since the Minotaur has seen Lorth's friend and he want to be sure the horse remembers him, because he has seen what happens when Lorth charges a foe on Tobiasz's back. Malgant thanks Appolo for the assistance in donning his armor, and he breathes a sigh of relief once they are able to leave the horse/house. At the talk of priests of Ga'al the Minotaur's mood darkens a bit. No doubt from what Val and Appolo have said they will see trouble. He thinks that he will likely be added to that list that the others speak of. No one, not even a God should rule a person's life to the exception of free will. That is what Ga'al demanded of his followers. Oftentimes his followers ended up forcing his will on others, usually children. They would likely not miss a priest of Domi in their midst, especially a ten foot tal Protector. Such was the life of a priest though. Malgant was also fairly certain that the priests would regret starting anything unless they brought alot of friends along for the deed. Finally, before leaving, Malagnt thanks Priscilla for her help and for the wind chime that should save his voice and his ears from having to sing for the rest of the trip.
