OOC- using some DM interpretation here of everyone's location and actions. Please correct me if I got it wrong.
Peerimus prepares a meeting place for when the supplies will arrive. A few days from now. He then steps out for a walk...
Firn'gaer, Trace, Savin, Kit, Kat teleport back to town.
Firn'gaer begins ordering supplies.
Savin checks on his school. There was an elf in yesterday inquiring about lessons. Seems the elf lass Jillian wanted to brush up on her skills. Savin's instructor informs him the girl seemed to be in a hurry and left without committing to anything. Believes she is still in town.
Trace heads to the catacombs entrance at Holly's store. Is he going to sell the loot from the giants?
Kit and Kat sit at the Inn. Enjoying some refreshments, they admire something Kat found. The twins notice a couple of dwarves at the bar. They are drinking heavily, and you can hear them recounting tales and accomplishments of a dear friend. Talking as if they are not sure if they will see him again.
Jurgen, Kazak and Durgan take the long way back to town. They discuss plans for their future along the way.

Savin will pop into the local tavern/inn and inquire about the elf lass Jillian. If he can find her, he will have a conversation but still concentrate on trying to locate some wagons and teams to pull them.
Once he has done that, he will find the others to find out when they want to head out.
(ooc Savin is fine with selling the loot. Wouldn't mind finding out what it is first so we can decide if we want to keep any of it.)

After blazing the trail, Peerimus moves about a mile away and finds Yorrick a good spot with food and water. The bear will be fine and then the druid shifts into a Raven and starts back towards the giants.
OOC Yae Savin should sell the liberated giant property. I think we should 'tithe' for the lack of a better word say 10% of our takes to the town. Town fund for projects and equipment and such. What do you guys think?

I definately say build the armory of the town. 19 chain shirts 4 scale armor 1 chain shirt, MW 21 long swords 1 long sword, MW 5 short swords 13 short bows 252 arrows 26 daggers and I was thinking tithing pure cash. Let the town decide how to spend the money. so if we got 3-4k of coin, we put 3-4 hundred into the town treasurey. Otherwise after selling magic and stuff I think the sums could get pretty outrageous for such a small town.
Firng I am pretty sure hasa Analyze dweomer and so could do every item in 9 rounds and then in 16 minutes have every potion. so we'll do that. I do not think there will be anything earth shattering that we will want so we should sell the lot. save all healing potions as group items. We got no cleric remember!

I don't have a problem with donating all regular weapons, armor and some small amounts of coin to the town but also don't think we need to get out of hand. I am sure we are going to be paying some taxes as well and we are offering our protection services for free.

OOC- analyze dweomer requires a 1500gp focus. Does Firn'gaer have it? Also, I did not see the spell on the last memorized spells you posted. Last note: You will need two castings to go through all the items.
With Durgan grumbling, Jurgen casts a teleport spell from a scroll, and returns himself and the dwarf brothers to town, just outside of Holly's shop. They see Savin disappear into the building just as they arrive.
Savin enters Holly's store. He finds both a female elf and a male human looking over a few weapons. The elf decides to keep what she has now. "Well Caraveer, she says, I believe I will stick with my staff, and also my magic for the duel." The man responds, "As you wish Jillian, but I don't see why you need to fight him anyway."
Holly greets Savin and as she cleans up after the other customers informs Savin that she can indeed get some wagons for him.
Kit and Kat introduce themselves to the dwarves. The dwarves seem willing to talk to anyone who offers them an ale. They share a few quick tales and then one of them, going by the name of Martrek tells the twins if they want to see some real combat, they should come and see his friend Gortrek defend dwarven honor in two days time. They must have shared the tale with other bar patrons. Many of them seem to be talking about it.
While checking out the area, Peerimus comes across a winter wolf. The creature is out of breath, as if having run a long way. Peerimus is not sure if it is one of Feyr's pack or something else.

"Durgan and Kazak, how about we talk about what we plan on doing in Heranmar when we've got a moment to sit with an ale or two?" He grins, fairly certain they couldn't resist such an offer.
Jurgen steps in after Savin, giving a wave and a nod to Holly. "Thanks for the help! It's much appreciated!" As the monk moves on to speak with Jillian, Jurgen stays with Holly and works on getting the rest of the information they'd need, as well as the supplies: seal from the Council, writ for the centaurs, messenger for the Fist and Hook City. "Not to mention, maybe an update on what is going on here. We've been gone for a few days with an interesting tale of our own, but it seems that the town has it's own story."

"Aye, business first, then pleasure." Durgan follows his brother to the Inn. He adds on a large order of food to the tab and waits mostly patiently for the beer to arrive. Durgan fills Kazak's mug and then takes his own mug out of his backpack. You can see the Stonewall clan seal upon the side. He fills his mug and then tells Brina to bring another pitcher.

"Greetings to you Savin. I have heard much of your prowess. My name is Jillian. And this is my...friend Caraveer." Caraveer nods his head in greeting. "I did indeed stop at your school. I have been placed in the position of defending my honor and the honor of my entire House. A brutish lout has insulted me, and so I have ended up agreeing to a duel as opposed to wrestling in the street like a commoner."
"I have some practice with a blade, but my true skill is with magic. I had hoped to avoid using it as the cur would no doubt consider it cheating, but I may have no choice. The duel is in two days. I scarcely have time to learn new skills till then. His name? A crusty dwarf named Gortrek."
The winter wolf looks up as Peerimus descends. (DM goof, I looked over you turning into a raven.) "I noticed your bear. Thought you'd be nearby." The wolf looks around a bit nervously as if expecting something. "Peerimus eh? From Feyr's description, I thought you'd be taller. It's good I found you. There's trouble at the giant camp. Feyr felt he owed to your pack to warn you. The Dame has discovered the theft of her favorite ring by an orc from a neighboring tribe and she is going to war with them. Feyr thinks you and your packmates should clear out of the area for awhile." With that, the wolf turns to leave the clearing. He turns once, as if to regard the druid, then waits a moment before leaving.
Jurgen finds Savin in Holly's store, and helps him finish arranging supplies and transport teams for the wagons. Several local woodsmen are available with animals suited for the task, and Holly gives directions to their homes. Jurgen then hears the elf maid's tale along with Savin after Savin introduces himself to her.
The dwarves accept the halflings company, and seem pleasant as long as the ale flows freely. Gortrek simply responds that a foolish elf insulted dwarf culture and needed to be taught a lesson. Kit and Kat see two more familiar looking dwarves enter the Inn, and get a table.
Brina gives Kazak and quick kiss on the cheek as she delivers food and ale, with a whispered promise of something more than a kiss later that evening. There is much table talk throughout the Inn regarding a duel between an elf and a dwarf.
Trace is in the catacombs?(or not- Dm can adjust...)

In the Catacombs
If agreed upon, Trace will sell the magic armor as none of us can wear it and the rest of the armor is used to stock the towns armory. Trace will take the earnings and the 4k gold from the fight and head back to the tavern. Here he will split the gold and then give 300 to the towns mayor or sherif. Depending on how much he gets, might just get some more flying potions and resist cold potions to the trip to cover the group.

Savin watches the byplay between Jillian and Caraveer with interest, noticing the catch in her voice as she introduces him. Savin stretches out his hand to shake Caraveer's hand when introduced noticing if it is callused or not.
He turns back to Jillian and says, "I appreciate your wanting to be fair. It speaks well of your character. Still is the duel necessary? Historically elves and dwarves haven't always gotten along but mostly they have learned to coexist and treat each other well and fairly."
Savin points to Jurgen and continues, "My friend is an elf but my companions are made up of many races: dwarves, halflings, human and even a gnome. I have found our different perspectives refreshing and often enlightening. I would be glad to arbitrate your dispute and if both parties insist on still dueling, then I will officiate to make sure honor is perserved while lives are spared. Does this sound satisfactory?"
Savin will watch Carvaneer closely to see his reactions while he does this. (sense motive check is 17 w/o modifiers. Don't have my character sheet in front of me.)

"Thanks for the help, Holly." Jurgen gives her a friendly nod and then joins Savin with Jillian. He listens to her story and wonders how bad the conflict between the elves and dwarves was going to get. It seemed like it would eventually require the Children to step in, if it got any worse. As for Jillian, Jurgen was glad to follow Savin's footsteps. It didn't seem particularly important for him to get involved in and there was still a lot to be done in preparation for the trade with the giants.
"If you don't need me, Savin..." Jurgen waits for the monk's response and, if he does not, gets ready to leave. "Jillian and Caraveer, it was a pleasure to meet you. I will see you at this duel, I suppose." He'll then go to meet up with anyone of the Council in order to get a seal. And, finally, he'd follow Holly's directions and meet up with one of the woodsmen to discuss the passing of messages.

Firn'gaer continues to collect the trade items for the giants. Assuming it has been at least one day, he will memorize analyze dweomer to identify the items. The potions are virtually automatic for him with a Spellcraft check (he has +28).

Peerimus regards the news with mixed feelings and it likely shows on his face. "A moment before you go. I have one question and a message to convey to Feyr. The question is where the opposing orc tribe may be and the message is this. It concerns me that Feyr was in the area to hear of this. Though I will still trust him and all of you to hold to the agreement." With that Peerimus gives the departing wolf a nod and then moves back towards the area where Yorrick was waiting.

Caraveer shakes Savin's hand gladly. He is very likable and seems no stranger to etiquette. Savin understands from the handshake that Caraveer has not had a rough life, but is no stranger to hard work or familiarity with a blade.
Jillian's mood lightens considerably at Savin's offer. "Yes, someone to make sure there is no cheating. That would be a great relief to me. As for the duel," she sighs, "yes it is unfortunately unavoidable. But I believe I can teach him a quick lesson and we'll be on our way." Caraveer nods his head in agreement but says nothing more.
The wolf answers Peerimus plainly. "The other tribe is closer to the mountains than the coast. We are staying out of it. Feyr is leading us to the mountains now." Peerimus is able to return to where Yorrick is without mishap.
Kit and Kat find the dwarves to be a bit more sour than a group of halflings would be. The twins are relieved when the dwarves finally excuse themselves and retire to a room.
During the day, the preparations are made for the supplies. As evening comes, everyone retires to their rooms for some much needed rest. In the morning, Firn'gaer prepares some fresh spells(please mark off two 6th level slots for the day) and identifies all of the items. Trace takes the stash to the Catacombs for sell-off.

He blushes slightly as Brina gives him a smooch but a big grin is plastered on his face " looking forward to more of that later "
"Yup i think that would be a good idea ... giving some of the captured weapons to the local guard ... would certainly help with there training " adds Kazak to Durgan
Sipping his ale and eating a nice hot meal the dwarven warrior listens to the discussion about the upcoming duel
OOC: Kazak already has a fate item (weapon), but we could all split the potions .
I don't mind if Kazak gets less if someone wants one of the bigger items ... all better for the group ;-)

Savin finishes up his business and invites his new friends for a meal at his school. He wants to see what kind of fighting abilities Jillian has and to see if he can sharpen anything up in a couple of days.
On the way, he will ask, "So what was the insult to the elven nation that these dishonorable dwarves said?" He will inquire into her magical studies as well and then mention Firn'gaer to her. Maybe after this duel, if time allows, you can met Firn'gaer and he can help you with your magical studies. He is a powerful mage who has ties to the Starmage guild.
Of course if he hears that you are dueling, he might refuse. He would probably think that dueling dwarves over honor when real foes who are threatening our community and innocent lives is a bit wasteful. Would you believe we fought off a band of frost giants just a day away from the town just this week?"
Savin gives both of them a meaningful look.

OOC Savin doesn't want or need any of the magic items except maybe some of the fly potions. Cure lights can be kept for party use but we are getting to the point where a cure light isn't worth the time it takes to suck down during combat.

true on the CLW, we passed that stage about 8 levels ago, but they make excellent instant gifts of good will and have at our level no true appreciable gp value
Speak up on what you want, I say keep the CLW Peerimus has no interest in any of the rest.
And Firn only needs a single analyze to do all the magic items. He can get the potions with Spell craft Skill

(OOC: I suggest that we keep the Rod of Negation. Uber useful. Give it to Firn'gaer, methinks? I wouldn't mind taking the Metamagic Rod of Extend (Brian says it's a Normal one, in which case I'll take it and throw my Lesser one back into the treasure pile). Probably not a bad idea to keep the Wands of Lightning Bolt either. The potions... none really are necessary for Jurgen)
Jurgen will head to hire out the woodsmen (or their animals as the case may be) to act as messengers for the Children and their various words for the moment.

Jillian agrees to Savin's offer. She and her friend return with Savin to the school and spend the night there. The whole next day she practices various moves with Savin and some sword practice with Caraveer. She thanks Savin for the offer to meet Firn'gaer but declines. "Maybe after the duel would be better. Then we would have more time to talk 'shop'. As for the reasons," she says awkwardly, "I am afraid I must remain silent on this for now."
Caraveer perks up at the mention of the giants. "Frost giants? How many were there? Did you fight them alone?"
The group spends the day gathering the supplies, and discussing dividing up the equipment. Several have hangovers and spend some time indoors. Peerimus has not returned to town yet.
The duel is tomorrow. Many people in town are talking about it. Both Jillian and Gortrek have agreed to hold the duel at a neutral location. The best spot they could come up with is within the nearby druid's grove...

Durgan orders an ale for breakfast and then spends most of the day chatting with the new dwarves about their duel. "Aye, I will be there to watch."
"Brother, good idea to give the extra weapons to the town guard. I'm sure they will make good use of the new gear."

Kazak joins his brother for breakfast but drinks hot tea instead " got work to do brother " grins the younger brother
The dwarf jumps back into plans to start up the quarry and stoneworks business ... outlining its infrastructure .... while searching for warehouse space ... both indoor and out.
As Kazak goes about his business he finds out about the duels location and chats with it to his brother while they share lunch at the taveren " heh i bet Peerimus will have something to say about that .... i wonder if duels are the right way to resolve their differences ... hope the Druid and the mighty bear show up soon to persuade them to call this off .... we're gonna hafta try and get to the bottom of this "

Firn'gaer uses his spell to determine the properties of all of the items. Afterwards he continue to direct locals to gather the items they needed.
As his opinion is very rarely heeded, he remains silent on the occurrences with the giants and orcs. But it appears that they might not need as much to trade as first thought.

Savin will put Jillian through her paces at dawn finishing up with a good 3 mile run (Savin is walking briskly but Jillian is running!)
He will then let her rest while he goes to find the others and see what is going on with the preperations of the giants food and wagons. When he finds them, he will explain about Jillian and the duel.
"Somehow this has gotten racial which disturbs me more than anything else. It almost seems something is trying to spark tensions around here. First the centaurs, then the giants, and now these two. Wonder if it could be somekind of outside influence."

Peerimus finds Yorrick and has a seat on the ground next to his friend, who is sunning himself. "I do not like this turn at all my friend. Discovered the orc tribe stole her ring? What orc tribe? Those she had with her? If so a short war indeed. But it seems Quinn's gods are determined to cause unrest and destruction in our lands. Sowing thier seeds to reap thier bloody harvests." The giants are only a few hours away, the rest of the group much further. Peerimus picks up a small rock and looks at it for a few moments. He sets it back in its place and stands. "It is time to cast another stone from the mountian tops my friend. Jarlsdotter does not simply move, she plans and so we must be away quickly."
Peerimus shifts to a Dire Bear and casts Longstrider upon himself, sharing the spell with Yorrick. "Come my friend let us see if we can defy the gods." The two great bears then move quickly back to the giant camp. [Speed 50]

At the catacombs Trace will purchase enough resist elements potions and fly potions. Thinking two for everyone. If someone wants to decline fly and elements potions speak up now.
Once items have been purchased, he will join the others at the tavern.

Jurgen meets up with Savin and his thoughts match the monks. "Regardless, we should be at the duel in case it gets out of hand. And then get the trade supplies together and get it to the giants, so we can finish our dealings with them. I don't much like how the group is split up when conflict is so nearby."

Savin offers some training, then fills the group in about the duel.
The group has a restful day, identifying items and gathering the supplies for the giants. At the evening meal at the Inn, Jurgen suggests observing the duel and then dropping off the supplies for the giants.
Peerimus and Yorrick make their way to the giant encampment. There is a lot of activity. The guards are not at their usual spots, and Peerimus and Yorrick can see the giants and orcs breaking camp. Whether or not they are going to attack another tribe remains to be seen.
OOC- the duel will most likely be tomorrow. Due to the scheduled website maintenance, you might not be able to react to the post till Monday if I am unable to post early. Please list whether your characters will be at the duel or in town.

Enjoying dinner at the taveren the dwarf comments " This duel is strange ... i mean why ? what for ?.... but also do you think this is the right way to deal with differences or disagreements ??... we might want to have the town council intervine if they can ... we wouldn't want everyone trying to settle things in this manner "
